- 0:15Welcome back to another episode of Warriors and Watchmen. Wow!
- 0:21Sorry, please continue. You got it right.
- 0:24Hey, before we get started, I want to talk about a couple of charities that
- 0:27hosts this podcast. One is the CJ3 Foundation, of which my guest,
- 0:33Roger Singh, is a part of. Oh, I'm a guest now. Okay.
- 0:37Well, I mean, you're also my senior advisor for the state of Virginia,
- 0:41so thank you for that. The other charity and nonprofit I want to talk about
- 0:45is No Boundaries as well.
- 0:47Roger, we initially didn't know who they were, but they're out there doing phenomenal
- 0:52work, more in the Central America versus us over here on the East Coast.
- 0:57But No Boundaries is a phenomenal charity that is also one of the co-hosts of this podcast.
- 1:03Absolutely. Let me give a shout out to Raven Tech.
- 1:07Appreciate their support in presenting this and putting this on.
- 1:11And also negative bounce productions of which is the voice in the sky.
- 1:18I mean, they do produce this show. It's fantastic. I mean, he's all right. He's all right.
- 1:23For a Marine, I guess. I eat crayons. Let's just not lie about it. Here we go.
- 1:28So, Roger, I got something to talk about real quick. Oh, are you going to try
- 1:33to kick this out before I do? No, no, I'm jumping into this.
- 1:36So, I was on vacation this week or this weekend. I needed a break from the D.C.
- 1:41Area, as I'm sure everybody would understand. You need to get out of this area
- 1:45once in a while, and it seemed like a good weekend for most of us,
- 1:48being an Easter weekend and all that.
- 1:49I grew up in Tidewater in Virginia Beach, Norfolk area, so decided to go back there for the weekend.
- 1:55It was a great break, but I didn't plan it very well because what I'm always
- 1:59told is you should put at least a day after your vacations, and I failed to
- 2:04do that, and I had to go to work this morning.
- 2:06Not only did I not do that, but you and I and our significant others had planned
- 2:11to go to our annual baseball game, correct?
- 2:14Yes, we did. Okay, stop. No, no, no, stop.
- 2:17I'm not going to let you run with it yet. He's such a dick. So I'm a St.
- 2:21Louis Cardinals fan, Roger.
- 2:24I'm a Nationals fan. Okay. And so, you know, here is the cool thing.
- 2:28Since this is such a transient area, I will say every year I do enjoy going
- 2:32to a Nationals game because it doesn't matter what you wear.
- 2:37You're pretty accepted there. You know, you don't get harassed like you do in some of the others.
- 2:41I don't know if I'd go to Baltimore in my St. Louis jersey. That might not work
- 2:44out so well for me. Oh, the worst sucks.
- 2:48So we go every year. Our families try to do a once a year trip too.
- 2:52So we have this deal. And for some reason this year you tried to break this
- 2:57deal. Oh, he's trying to preempt what I'm going to call him out on here.
- 3:01Hold on. I don't know if I like this.
- 3:03There's no deal. Bro, every year it's a deal.
- 3:06So I buy the tickets. I'm so generous to this group that I buy the tickets. And hold on.
- 3:13What's significant about these tickets? I am 100% disabled with a service dog.
- 3:19All right, you can go here on this one.
- 3:20So at the end of the day, we get special handicap seating, right?
- 3:23Yes, we do. Handicap seating because of my dog, which means they're not attached,
- 3:27and you and I actually fit in these seats, unlike general seating. Correct.
- 3:32Wait, wait, wait. Whose fault is that? That we're handicapped?
- 3:36No, you don't fit in the seats.
- 3:40Food. Food in general is at fault for this. Because we're in the gym so much.
- 3:46Because you're fucking jacked. But that's P-H-A-T, pretty hot and tempting. I'm just saying.
- 3:51So anyway, we call them the handyman seats, right? We love these seats.
- 3:55They're great. And what's right behind us in those seats?
- 3:59Oh, the bar. Oh, the bar is right behind it. You don't have to go anywhere.
- 4:02You literally turn around. It's right there. You get to know them real well. So phenomenal seats.
- 4:07Compliments of me and my status. Although nobody ever questions your handicap
- 4:11status when you're in there. Why is that?
- 4:13Because they think you're a window licker. No, they think you're a window licker.
- 4:17They think you're mentally. They might think I'm mentally unstable and I felt
- 4:21bad yesterday because you made the comment out loud.
- 4:23And there was an actual physically handicapped person sitting two seats down for me.
- 4:28As he's like why don't they question you i'm
- 4:31like oh because i'm fat that's why i don't i
- 4:33don't know why so anyway we get these great seats i
- 4:37provide these great seats oh my god he's preempting what i'm gonna call so then
- 4:41roger has one job then since i got the tickets his job is to get parking this
- 4:48is my part this is but your part's bs your job is to get parking which you do
- 4:53a phenomenal job, you pay extra money for good.
- 4:55We get quality parking spots. How far do we have to walk?
- 4:58Bro, I mean, you could spit on the stadium from where we're at,
- 5:01right? We almost peed last night because with traffic, our bladders were hurting.
- 5:06But at the end of the day, what goes with parking, Roger?
- 5:09What part should be your job that goes with parking that's been the status quo?
- 5:17So.
- 5:19Is so old, he cannot drive at night anymore. Is that what that is?
- 5:23He just can't visibly see the road in the evening because of his age.
- 5:28Guy in the sky. Eric, you're 50, dude. Yes, I am. Pull yourself together.
- 5:33I'll make a 50 look good. Guy in the sky, sir.
- 5:36Let me tell you. So I just drove back. I just said, I just drove back from Virginia Beach.
- 5:42Should it be incumbent on me, the guy that bought the good seats to have to
- 5:48drive in. To me, that sounds like it goes with parking.
- 5:51I mean, driving and parking are different. What? Yes, thank you, guy.
- 5:56Look, you park after you drive.
- 6:01Bro, bro, here's what I'm saying.
- 6:04We decided to meet at the bar at Spank and Shenanigans, which obviously we're
- 6:10there way too often anyway.
- 6:12We decided to meet there. We're going to get a bite to eat before we go.
- 6:14I just got into town. We meet there.
- 6:17And this dude goes, why'd you bring that? I thought you were driving.
- 6:21This was a conversation that was had prior. No, it wasn't. This was in your mind.
- 6:25So this is where Eric's memory fades him as well. His age and his driving at
- 6:29night apparently is a challenge.
- 6:30I was like, all right, you're driving this time. And he goes,
- 6:33all right, I will defend you to a point.
- 6:36He did not say, okay, cool. He went, whatever, is what he said to me.
- 6:41But, and I looked at Jen, and Jen actually said this to me yesterday.
- 6:44I did bring a car that I could carry everybody in, including the dog.
- 6:47I just hadn't cleaned out the back yet.
- 6:50So I knew he was going to turn it on me. And Jen looked at me and goes,
- 6:53damn it. You're right. He did.
- 6:55He brings his F-350 that can't fit into anything, anywhere decent.
- 7:00No, you can't fit that anywhere, man.
- 7:03You can't fit it anywhere, do you see? And he goes, oh. And I looked at Michelle,
- 7:05and I go, Michelle, his significant other. And I go, what car did he bring today? She goes, the truck.
- 7:10I'm like, that motherfucker. Mind you, this is an F-350 on 40s. Oh, my Lord.
- 7:16That thing couldn't fit anywhere. I do want to just say this before you introduce your guest.
- 7:21There is a driver's license and no parking license.
- 7:26So take that however you will. Oh, Guy, you are now top of my list at this point
- 7:32because, like I said, Eric apparently needs a driver his age. Hold on.
- 7:38All right. New challenge then. Guy, Roger's got parking. I'll buy the tickets.
- 7:44I guess you're driving next year. Screw you.
- 7:46You got it. You got it. You have to make that known, damn it. I did. I didn't know.
- 7:51I thought it did. What I've learned. Roger, you're doing the driving and the parking. Hold on.
- 7:55What I've learned with Roger as my senior advisor, I love this guy,
- 7:59but if it's not on the calendar, and even still, I'm not quite sure.
- 8:03Which, by the way, I thought. Oh, my God. Okay. Early on, yes, I completely agree.
- 8:08There's a two-month learning gap here where it takes me a little while.
- 8:12Two months. Two months. No wonder you're in the special seats at the stadium.
- 8:16That's what I should have said. It's because it takes me a little while to learn.
- 8:19All I got to say is this asshole...
- 8:21On the way to and from, as we're running into traffic, he goes,
- 8:26I'm glad I'm not driving. That's true. Every time.
- 8:29And I'm like, and Jen's jumping on board, his fucking sister,
- 8:33my spouse, my significant other.
- 8:35Yeah, Roger, I'm glad he's not driving. Oh my God. Hold on. She's not really
- 8:39my sister. She's my sister from another missing. Okay.
- 8:41I was just going to say, wait a minute. Wait a minute. There's no relation in that.
- 8:46We'll get a little racist here. It's quite because it's really in this relationship
- 8:49because of significant others.
- 8:52There's two brown ones and two white ones. You do the math, but that's my sister
- 8:55from another mister. So I'm just sorry. All right.
- 8:58I'll dig that. I'll dig that. Anyway, I'm glad we cleared that up.
- 9:02You're wrong. He hijacked what I was going to call him out on because I told
- 9:05him I was doing it today, and he hijacked it. But it's fine because Guy's on my side.
- 9:10So you've lost in the sense of what we're doing here. No, I did. No, I did. I'm a winner.
- 9:14I'm a winner. So real quick. Hey, we're going to circle back on that.
- 9:17I'm in. Real quick to Guy in the Sky, I got a question for you.
- 9:20So, hey, sir, you just got back from vacation.
- 9:24How did your vacation go? It was amazing. Yeah. It wasn't a vacation. It was a retirement.
- 9:30It was an honor to be there. That's awesome. Yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no. Hold on.
- 9:35That's what you say when it's a forced, I have to go to this thing because I don't want to be here.
- 9:40Mandatory fun, sir. That was not a, it was an honor. An honor to be there is
- 9:43like when you lose the Oscar.
- 9:44It's an honor to be nominated with these people. No one really is saying this.
- 9:47What do you mean by you people?
- 9:49Let me just say this We wouldn't have Traveled to Poland If we didn't want to
- 9:54be there For the person That was retired Oh that's good,
- 9:57That's very politically Correct of you I like it No it's serious I'm serious
- 10:01I want to give you I love those people I met I met Irish Owen And like,
- 10:07I love that dude now. I love his wife now. Am I supposed to know who that is?
- 10:11Irish Owen retired in Poland?
- 10:11No, he was from Ireland, but he was in Poland. Makes sense to me.
- 10:17So you brought up something. You are a tequila drinker. Poland is not tequila country.
- 10:24I had to drink Polish vodka, and I loved it. Are you converted?
- 10:29I won't convert, but I did bring some bottles home, and it was amazing. It was fucking amazing.
- 10:35Me and Roger like vodka. It's definitely better than what Eric got from the
- 10:39Ukraine. I'm just saying I don't remember the rest of that night.
- 10:42It wasn't that it was bad. It was just really strong and left both of us almost blind.
- 10:47It was rubbing alcohol and it did leave us blind. It did. I don't recall the night.
- 10:52This Polish vodka is, it's buffalo grass vodka. It's made from wheat.
- 10:59Made from wheat, not potatoes. Okay. And it is the smoothest vodka I've ever
- 11:04had. like I can't even believe but this is coming from a tequila drinker.
- 11:09And tequila's fucking smooth, dude. I mean, I used to be a vodka drinker,
- 11:14so I'd have to try it to see what you're talking about because potato vodka's
- 11:16fine. I also like rice vodka, so there's... The wheat vodka, dude.
- 11:21I'm going to bring what we have left of... We need to try one. I need a snore.
- 11:25It's really good. It's really good. All right. Hey, so I hate you two,
- 11:29and you're always piling up and ganging up on me, so I'm going to bring in a
- 11:33little... We are the champions. I'm going to bring someone else.
- 11:35Bring your army buddy in.
- 11:36Bring them in. Bring in reinforcements. I've got a battle buddy here. Go Army.
- 11:41And so I want to introduce this guy. So, one, he's a personal friend.
- 11:47He's been around for a while supporting us at the CJ3 Foundation. Just a phenomenal dude.
- 11:53Anthony Pensabine. No, I'm not going to spell that. But Anthony is the owner of Savage Pest Warfare.
- 12:00And as stated, he's an Army veteran.
- 12:02This dude and his family are phenomenal. His family is much better than he is. His wife is awesome.
- 12:08Dude's got a passel of kids and a passel of
- 12:10dogs too but got a huge heart loves family
- 12:14loves god loves guns loves this
- 12:17country so anthony pence being welcome to
- 12:19the podcast welcome thank you i'm here so hey
- 12:22you decked out in your garb is this regular wear what is
- 12:25this yeah this is regular uniform here there you go so
- 12:28what made you decide on this because obviously you know
- 12:31every time i see that dude i think grave digger those are
- 12:34my grave different colors that's the
- 12:37countryside of me but no it stands out and people seem to
- 12:39be real familiar with it so how do you decide on that honestly just
- 12:43started with whatever i could get closest to the army combat uniform
- 12:46we have changed the shirts though because not everybody
- 12:49that works for me was in the army and they're not uh they don't like the long
- 12:53sleeves hold on can i can i pull a funny because i know a little background
- 12:56on this yeah not everybody fits army either yeah yeah you found that out too
- 13:01yeah absolutely i'm finding that out uh on a weekly basis actually but sarge these don't fit me.
- 13:09Hey, have you seen my senior advisor? I know, I know the feeling.
- 13:13Every time I got to get special shirts and stuff made, cause big sexy over here.
- 13:19Listen, some of us played football. Some of us went military and I appreciate
- 13:23everything you guys did for, for this country.
- 13:26So I will just say I'm fat because I was good at hitting people in a line. That's all I was good at.
- 13:32I could, I mean, I did prestige one time and, uh, I almost signed up. I almost signed up.
- 13:40It's fine. Eric's two favorite things that anybody tells him.
- 13:43Hey, brother, tell me about home, brother. Who do you have? I'm trying to forget,
- 13:47right? No, you don't get it.
- 13:49Don't do that. Don't do that. Hey, that's because he just got done on a week vacation.
- 13:54Yeah, we just spent a whole week, a little over eight days in an RV with everybody,
- 13:59minus the dogs. Wait, wait, how many people are we talking about?
- 14:02I lost count of the children. It's just really me and my wife and then whichever
- 14:06ones are orbiting around us. Might have picked up a few extra.
- 14:09Children are the worst so they don't shower. Whoever was on the side of the
- 14:12road at the time that was under a certain age was in his RV.
- 14:15Where'd you guys go? We went to Pensacola.
- 14:17Okay. Pensacola Beach. That's a long RV trip, dude. It was. Bro,
- 14:21this is the dad that thinks it's always a good idea.
- 14:24Like, he's like, oh, I got this great idea. Let's pack up the kids in.
- 14:27And then he comes back and goes, I'm ready to go back to work.
- 14:30But it's always a good idea to get an RV on the way down. It is not on the way home.
- 14:35That is true. But, you know, I do have three kids, a guy in the sky ass.
- 14:40So it was me, the wife, Christy, and my three kids, AJ, Victoria, and Roman.
- 14:45We didn't bring any dogs with us. That was to save my sanity.
- 14:49Hold on, hold on. One of his dogs is a horse. That's why. Absolutely, yeah.
- 14:55It's a cane Corso, right? Yeah, he's 201 pounds. Oh my God.
- 15:00It's half of you, Roger. That's a big fucking dog, man. He makes Eric look little.
- 15:05I hate you, Eric, but that's a valid statement.
- 15:08He makes Roger look little. I know, but it's a cool dog. That's like one of Roger's legs.
- 15:15Hey God, but not only does he have the cane Corso, but then they have a love
- 15:19for Frenchies. So he's got this really big text. Yep.
- 15:22Oh, which they're awesome. I love Anthony's Frenchies. Anthony, I have a pug.
- 15:27Nice. I have to walk my pug in our neighborhood. In high heels. Oh my goodness. Yeah.
- 15:33Like everyone's looking at me like, okay. Every time. What the hell, man.
- 15:37Anytime someone mentions that they're a big guy with a little dog,
- 15:40I picture Arnold Schwarzenegger in True Lies pulling the fucking little dog across the street.
- 15:44And I just see, come on, God damn it. Let's go. Sorry. Please continue, Anthony. That's funny.
- 15:50Yeah, no, honestly, the family loves the RV. I'm always surprised,
- 15:53like, when we take the RV out, like, when we're on the way back.
- 15:56I'm like, all right, who wants to go back to California?
- 15:58And they all want to go. And I'm like, really?
- 16:02No BS. So good memories, man. I mean, seriously. I envy that.
- 16:06You won't remember the bad times. You won't remember the rides home.
- 16:09You won't remember the time there.
- 16:10Exactly. So, Anthony, I got one for you. Because you guys like RVs.
- 16:15I take my family back to where I used to live in Ohio, and I take them to a
- 16:20place called Mosquito Lake. Okay.
- 16:25And my wife is like, why are we going to a place called Mosquito Lake?
- 16:32So I feel like I need to bring you because you're like a pest avenger,
- 16:35dude. That's right, yeah.
- 16:38I like to minimize my guests while they're here, and so I really want to put
- 16:43Anthony on the spot real quick. So I love his wife. She's a phenomenal lady.
- 16:48One, she can handle his ass and put him in. She can control him,
- 16:51which is fun to watch sometimes.
- 16:53She's got brain power. Like she controls me. She controls the kids.
- 16:57Bro, and I'm scared to death of her. I love her, but I'm scared to death of
- 17:00her. But the cool thing is I met Anthony. We're hanging out.
- 17:03First time we got together, got to go out to eat with the wife and him and meet her.
- 17:09And it was kind of fun to listen to her response. She looked at him and was
- 17:12like, he's so much bigger than you.
- 17:17All the time. That's what I hear every time we hang out. Every dude wants to hear that. Oh, yeah.
- 17:22That's exactly what we all want to hear. He's so much bigger than you.
- 17:28She's so impressed with it because everywhere we go, I'm like the biggest guy
- 17:32in the room for the most part.
- 17:33So, like, when we hang out with
- 17:34Eric, she's just, is that why you quit hanging out with me? Is that it?
- 17:39Hey, I'm working. Sorry, Eric. I can't hang out with you. I'm working right now. Has she met Roger?
- 17:44Yeah, yeah. Recently. We met at Eric's AARP birthday where he decided to meet
- 17:49his top Social Security party.
- 17:53I thought it was his retirement party, but apparently it's just a birthday. It's fine.
- 17:57AARP. So, Anthony, how long did it take you to come up with a name, Savage Pest Forward?
- 18:03Was that something? Because I can tell you, when I was going through the whole
- 18:05CJ3 thing, man, the name was ridiculous.
- 18:08Just how to come up with something and what it should be took me like three months.
- 18:13Maybe you're not, maybe you're not, you're a lot faster than I wish I was on
- 18:16the same boat there, but it was like, honestly too easy. Cause I wanted to,
- 18:20The warfare part came from, obviously, military background.
- 18:24So I knew that I wanted to call it that because most companies are like a pest
- 18:27management or whatever.
- 18:29You're not trying to manage them. You want to kill them. Yeah,
- 18:31we just want to destroy whatever's out there. And then I was trying to come
- 18:34up with the name, and I'm five minutes into it.
- 18:37And I was like, these kids are fucking savages.
- 18:41And that's where it comes from. There you go. And it works perfectly because
- 18:45the definition for savages cannot be humanly controlled. And most pests,
- 18:50you're never going to get rid of them immediately.
- 18:53It takes a little bit of a process. And then in order to keep them away,
- 18:56you constantly got to treat for them.
- 18:58So it just worked out. What's the hardest pest to get rid of around here? My children.
- 19:06He sprays them with shit all the time. They keep coming back.
- 19:09He's like, damn, if that didn't work, next.
- 19:11Nah, all pests for, I got plenty of experience doing it.
- 19:15So they're all pretty easy to get rid of. I would say the toughest one are flying
- 19:20insects, especially like right now, it's April, so you got like bee swarmers.
- 19:24Um, there's no nest to treat, so you can't do anything about that,
- 19:28but bees swarm all over the place.
- 19:31Um, so that, that would probably be the hardest one. Anything that's,
- 19:34you know, flying insects.
- 19:35So out of curiosity for guy, do you guys get rid of wild animals out of attics? Absolutely.
- 19:40What would be in an attic? Maybe a squirrel. I believe I heard earlier.
- 19:46So what's the best way to get rid of one? Would it be to terminate its life?
- 19:50I mean, the easiest and most cost-effective way would be a .22 with a silencer.
- 19:56Unless you don't believe in guns and God and country. Whoa, whoa,
- 20:00whoa, whoa, whoa. No one said I don't believe in that.
- 20:04Look, he doesn't want to replace the siding, guys. That's what he's looking
- 20:08for here. I have befriended these squirrels.
- 20:10Oh, God. Oh, he's feeding them. Oh, my God, you're feeding them.
- 20:13There's a reason he's got squirrels.
- 20:15I enjoy watching them. There's a difference. One squirrel talks to the other.
- 20:18They're like, hey, you got to come in here.
- 20:20I'm making a note. Hey, he's got food for us all the time. I don't understand it.
- 20:24Put a note right here. It says repeat customer. Charge him extra. He feeds them.
- 20:29We're at a boiling point where this is their, this winter is their last winter stay with us.
- 20:35So whatever I got to do, I'm going to either kill them or, you know,
- 20:38I've heard they migrate though.
- 20:41They'll visit each other. They're very social. We will, uh, we generally trap, relocate.
- 20:46What do you mean by like social? Like they go over for a gang bang and then
- 20:49make babies and then leave.
- 20:51He was thinking some beers. Literally, that's exactly what they do.
- 20:54Those little bastards. That's why I identify with a man. Yeah, I can see that.
- 21:02So i do have a question before you continue so anthony
- 21:06how did you get involved with the cj3 foundation how'd you meet this this ugly
- 21:10man over here who's bigger than most i'm gonna let him tell the story he tells
- 21:14it so much better oh my lord you're gonna make him the car show what at the
- 21:18car show that's how that's how i met you the first time i don't remember that man oh i'll tell it.
- 21:25He's told the story like at least i was gonna say he'll add in as soon as you
- 21:30start telling it you're fine he's got he's got some oldness settling in with
- 21:36him i just want to hear you can't remember it because i want to hear his version
- 21:38of this so in eric's words here,
- 21:41it'll be i showed up at the car show with my
- 21:44giant truck and then i looked across
- 21:47the parking lot and me and anthony locked eyes he was over there that
- 21:50is how this goes and we knew instantly we
- 21:53would be friends and the funny part is like it's
- 21:56so true because i was on the other side of parking lot
- 21:59like oh i'm gonna go talk to that dude he looks like
- 22:02cool he looks like my people's yeah and and this
- 22:05is in like a car show that generally has what was this cars and cigars cars
- 22:09and cigars over at dc prime right uh or was it somewhere else x cal no no that
- 22:14little shopping center in one loud or not one loud ashburn village yeah or whatever
- 22:18that is oh yeah the train station yeah yeah yeah yep so this is a car show with probably 500 cars you,
- 22:25six 800 people walking around yeah we found each and then it was like yeah we
- 22:29locked eyes right there so let me ask let me ask eric a question if if he would
- 22:35have pulled in like with a little dotson truck would you have been like that
- 22:41little bitch fuck that guy yes he would have,
- 22:45i will say this anthony's a big time car guy so yes he would he would have ate my shit.
- 22:52So black black velvet or dream weaver was playing and you locked eyes please
- 22:56continue either one of you please go that that's the uh we made out yeah now we're lifelong buddies,
- 23:03so hey you do some cool things for the foundation brother i
- 23:06i want to pimp you a little bit for that i i'm very appreciative
- 23:09for what you do so kind of tell the tell the
- 23:12group the audience what you do and and kind of what
- 23:14made you go that route i just kill shit i
- 23:17don't really know what you're talking about the hoods oh no so
- 23:21we we put we put the so we got some nice trucks they're all black
- 23:24with the green logos on them well they were nice till your employees get
- 23:27a little exactly yeah when they bounce they use them
- 23:30as bumper cars but no so we put i i had
- 23:33nothing on the hood on like my whole truck design nothing was on the hood so
- 23:36we came up with putting the cj3 foundation on the hood which works out great
- 23:41because a lot of times we do do the paperwork right on the hood of the truck
- 23:44my customer will come out to the truck they'll they'll be admiring the truck
- 23:48And as you're filling out the paperwork,
- 23:50it leads to the question, what is the CGI3 Foundation?
- 23:54And it, going through the program now, like I have such a better explanation
- 23:58of what you guys do and how you help people.
- 24:01And it's led to a lot. Dude, that was cool. That was cool as hell that you got
- 24:05a chance to go through our mental health and wellness process in Iowa.
- 24:07That was awesome. I'm glad you made the decision.
- 24:09It was awesome for me to be able to send you because for our listening audience,
- 24:14my folks live back there as well. It's a.
- 24:16One of the things we strive to do in the foundation is try to make this a family thing.
- 24:21And you truly do get around most of my family in this process.
- 24:24So it was a blessing to be able to have you back there. So I appreciate the hell out of there.
- 24:27It was even more of a blessing to go through the program. No,
- 24:30that's awesome. You have no idea.
- 24:31No, that's awesome. I absolutely benefited from it so much.
- 24:35I have to say something.
- 24:38I have to say something here. So we were talking about the paintings that were
- 24:42up in here. So there's one like hanging up over here by the bar.
- 24:47And I just looked in the drawer and I have the card and, you know,
- 24:51the, the title of this painting that's over here by the bar is called the toll.
- 24:57And I know about that. Yeah. And that's why it spoke to me.
- 25:01And it spoke to me as it does to many other veterans, first responders,
- 25:06because there's a giant toll.
- 25:08And the fact that CJ3 and all the supporters and partners that are a part of
- 25:15that support that toll is fucking badass, man.
- 25:19No, that's cool. It's fucking badass. I appreciate it. Fucking badass.
- 25:22Hey, Anthony, so tell us a little bit about your company. What area do you serve?
- 25:26So we service all in Northern Virginia, which generally runs from Round Hill
- 25:31all the way out to Arlington, Alexandria.
- 25:33Most of the commercial work we do is in Arlington, Alexandria.
- 25:37Uh residential pretty much everywhere else so it's interesting
- 25:40i get the opportunity to talk to you pretty regularly and i like to pick your
- 25:43brain because i'm i'm in the government work which is different space
- 25:46than what you're in like roger different cockroaches yeah whole different kind
- 25:50different children as i like to say so yeah it's interesting because my significant
- 25:55other is a school teacher and i'm like i think she's got the better job i'd
- 25:59rather deal with those kids than the grown-up dealing with adult children is
- 26:02not your significant other's a school teacher Oh,
- 26:06God bless those children, dude. Yeah, middle school.
- 26:08And they're more grown up than some of the people I work with.
- 26:10Like, I've told Eric this because when I saw his significant other at the bar,
- 26:17I recognized her from the gym. She's a fucking beast, dude.
- 26:20Beast mode. Like, no, she's like no business. Like, I'm going in there. I'm destroying shit.
- 26:26So I can't imagine what middle schoolers feel. Guys, she's so quiet until she gets mad at you.
- 26:31And then I— Bro, she's not quiet to you. She's not quiet to me.
- 26:34But she's so quiet and me and then all of a sudden i get the fuck you roger i'll cut you.
- 26:41Never said it i'm like bullshit i got like five witnesses that heard what you
- 26:45said to me she is she's scary i'm not gonna lie but i mean dealing with eric
- 26:49yeah you gotta be scary what's up with me and yeah she's half my height right
- 26:53she handles me so that's baseball bat the high And half your rage.
- 26:58Hey, we weren't going there.
- 27:01Now that you've gone there, let's continue. What hell's bells.
- 27:05You should be giving me a high five at this point. I am giving you a high five, Ben.
- 27:10Eric's on a walker on AARP. Trying to find drivers. And there you go.
- 27:16Hey, to your point, she's beast mode enough she can push the wheelchair. We're good.
- 27:22He's playing the long game here. He is. He thought about this.
- 27:26He's like, shit, I need someone to push me around here soon. It just happened.
- 27:29No, no, no. Like, no joke. Like, a couple years ago, she'd go to the gym that I go to.
- 27:36And, like, a lot of the women that go in there, yeah, they like to talk.
- 27:39Dude, they're drinking caramel macchiatos. She's straight fucking business, dude. She goes in.
- 27:44She's just like, she doesn't dress like all the other women.
- 27:49Oh, please say this. I want to hear that because I'm going to go home. No.
- 27:53Like she just dresses like I'm going to go in there and fucking just stack shit, man.
- 27:59And like I respect that a lot, like a whole lot in the gym because I don't like
- 28:04the whole show that a lot of people put in there.
- 28:06So she was squatting more than Eric's weight and bench pressing more than Eric
- 28:09weighs. I think that's pretty good.
- 28:11It's 100% she was. That's about it.
- 28:14We know Eric at his age is just doing for physique at this point.
- 28:17He's trying to keep that muscle mass up. So 135 pounds on the bar.
- 28:20That's what I do. I can't lie.
- 28:21I was like, when was the last time you were in the gym? That is totally me.
- 28:24Listen, I do the bar at this point, and thank God I can get it off my chest.
- 28:27I'm getting old, too. Anthony's laughing, and he don't get a laugh either.
- 28:30When was the last time you were in the gym, you jerk?
- 28:33It's been a little while. He doesn't have to. He's wrestling squirrels out of
- 28:37attics, man. What do you want from him? He's a...
- 28:39You don't need that when you're, like, you've got, like, whatever you kill bugs
- 28:43with. Right. Like, you don't need to fucking do shit, dude.
- 28:47No, I'm not saying you don't need to do shit. He's going into crawl spaces.
- 28:50You got to figure it out, man.
- 28:51He's still doing all that stuff, man. We're not doing it anymore.
- 28:55Because we sit behind desks. We're old.
- 28:56We sit behind desks. That's our fault. Every time I see him,
- 28:59he's just handing bugs out at car shows.
- 29:02Here, hold this rope. Speaking of that, for Eric's rat rod, can you give me
- 29:07a rat trap that I can put in his seat? because he hates the children getting
- 29:10in that thing. Like this big.
- 29:11That like shocks them. Are you sure there's not one sitting there right now?
- 29:14I mean, there needs to be. Oh, oh, oh.
- 29:16Well, especially considering I have a big-ass Indian dude that gets in it and you're not supposed to.
- 29:21Whatever. You're the one that says you want to flip me in it.
- 29:24So, hey, that is a thing. You're a car guy, man.
- 29:27Absolutely. You can't seem to keep a car for longer than six months in your garage. And I know that.
- 29:32So, what's your thing, brother? Because you've got a constant rotation.
- 29:36What do you like to do? honestly I've been looking for the right car I also
- 29:40you've had a couple pretty cool ones yeah yeah absolutely.
- 29:44A few years ago as a hobby, I started buying cars from different areas,
- 29:48bringing them here and then reselling them.
- 29:49So that's where a lot of like the classics that you would see me have,
- 29:52that's what happens with them.
- 29:54But it's also my hobby. It's the hunt to go find the car at a, you know, decent deal.
- 29:59But it's also the consternation I see during some of them going,
- 30:04out of all of them, I might keep this one. I might actually keep this one.
- 30:07If she'll just let me have five, I'll keep this one.
- 30:11Exactly. no i i i'm passionate
- 30:14about all cars so that's what i've learned as i've gotten a
- 30:16little bit older it really doesn't matter growing up
- 30:19i was like big had to be a chevy now pretty much anything
- 30:22american you know tickles my fancy all
- 30:26right all right i got i gotta know because eric said what
- 30:29cars have you gotten rid of that we would all bro what the hell hey he's
- 30:32getting rid of some yeah what have you gotten rid of the the
- 30:35most i guess i don't know a famous one but
- 30:38like the most uh one i wish i would have kept was a 67
- 30:41true rsss camaro oh yeah
- 30:45and my wife gives me such a hard time about that that's like a dream car man
- 30:51it was beautiful yeah i bought it at a gas station the guy was getting gas at
- 30:56a 7-eleven my buddy saw it gave me the information i called him bought it on
- 31:02the spot went out there got it,
- 31:04However, I listed it for sale. I think it wasn't much more than I paid for it, but like 10 grand more.
- 31:09And a dealer came by within eight hours and picked the car up.
- 31:13And I was like, I think I listed that too low. Oh, yes. Oh, yeah.
- 31:17Dealer comes by. Hold on. Sorry, that was a phone deal. This is in person now. Oh, man.
- 31:23The bright side of it, though, was growing up with my dad.
- 31:28Right around 16, I started restoring muscle cars. So, like, the Holy Grail was like a SS Camaro.
- 31:34You know, if you could get an SSRS, very rare car.
- 31:38So I called him up and he's like, I was like, hey, dad, I got this Camaro last
- 31:42night, but somebody's coming to pick it up this afternoon.
- 31:46And he's an older guy. And he was like, all right, so what do you want me to
- 31:49do? I'm like, just bring your ass down to Virginia real quick. So we go for a quick spin.
- 31:54So we spent about four hours hot rodding the thing, like doing donuts.
- 31:59To the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. He lives in Percival.
- 32:02He goes up and down seven and nine oh they know who I am I got seven tickets
- 32:07last weekend hold on don't say what you don't say what you have right now yeah but where did you pick,
- 32:14The one you have right now, where did you pick that up? Minnesota or something
- 32:17like that? Yeah, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- 32:18No, no, you can't do that. He's got to say what it is. No, he will. I will.
- 32:23He's drawing this out a little bit. But it's important to me because this bothers
- 32:27car people, but I love Anthony for it because he believes in if you own it,
- 32:32drive it. It's not just meant to sit there.
- 32:34So this dude goes looking for this car, finds it. He doesn't take a car holler.
- 32:40He goes out there to drive this thing back.
- 32:42Anthony, what do you have right now? I got a 2008 Dodge Viper ACR.
- 32:47One of one builds. That he drives. Jesus, dude. Hey, he goes out there,
- 32:52and the guy's like, where's your trailer?
- 32:54And he's like, I'm driving this thing. Hey, does it work? Yeah. I'm driving it back.
- 32:59So do you work on the cars, too? So do you rebuild them all,
- 33:02or do you buy them, rebuild them, and then sell them, or do you just?
- 33:05For the most part, I've been buying them completely built already.
- 33:09Beautiful, pristine hot rods, for the most part. Like on my own cars,
- 33:12I always do all the maintenance myself.
- 33:15Could I build a car? Probably. I just don't have time to.
- 33:19By the way, Roger, he's never let me actually ride or drive any of his cars yet.
- 33:24Smart. You're a smart, smart man. That is brilliant. All of them.
- 33:30Aaron can't drive. All of them. Anthony does support our charity.
- 33:35I do like vehicles. And Anthony's holding on to one of my vehicles that apparently
- 33:39has left his garage on multiple occasions that I wasn't in it.
- 33:43Eric, you don't even drive to D.C. Why is he going to let you drive a car around?
- 33:50All three of you, I got a challenge for you. Oh, shit. I got a challenge.
- 33:54And I believe between the four of us, we can do this.
- 33:58Let's put together something where we pitch in, we get a fucking car,
- 34:03we restore it. Dude, Harvey.
- 34:05Absolutely. And we fucking give it to a veteran or a first responder. Oh, absolutely.
- 34:11Let's do that. Like, I'm telling you, man, like, and any proceeds we get from
- 34:18like a drawing or whatever, it goes right into the foundation.
- 34:21And then somebody wins that car. So can I tell you this guy?
- 34:24Yeah, so one of the vehicles I was referring to, Anthony's holding on the foundation.
- 34:28We have a CJ3A 1953 Jeep Willys rat rod powered by a 98 Cummins turbo diesel engine.
- 34:37And so this thing, and it sits about two inches off the ground with 36-inch
- 34:42tires. It's ridiculous.
- 34:44So, but my point to you is we could make that work because we had some local
- 34:50community partners that came on board when I was building that.
- 34:53That sold us the parts at cost.
- 34:55To do that project my point to you
- 34:58is i'm pretty sure i could re-engage some of them and
- 35:01they'd get on board with a project like a giveaway like that like
- 35:04that'd be huge we could make that a whole i mean we could
- 35:07plan that for the your golf tournament next year i
- 35:10wouldn't even want i would want to make that its own event because yeah that'd
- 35:23be a huge event I wouldn't want that tied in with anything. And it's got to be a 68 Camaro.
- 35:28See, now you're getting specific. I mean, look, dude.
- 35:32Can we get that for cheap? I mean, if we're painting it, you can pick it up pretty low cost. Yeah.
- 35:39And for any normal day veteran or first responder, getting a 68 Camaro that's
- 35:46been restored is literally a fucking dream come true.
- 35:50Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. You know what I mean?
- 35:53No, I think that'd be a fun challenge. I think we could do that.
- 35:57Okay. That'll take some work, but I think we could do that. So what you're saying
- 35:59is challenge accepted. Yeah.
- 36:01I think that's a yes. Yeah. I think it's a yes. Let's do this.
- 36:05I think we can do it. Let's fucking do it. No, you got to remember.
- 36:09I'm responsible for the charity business side, but I think we can do that.
- 36:12I really do. I think that's doable. I think we can too.
- 36:14And you know what? Like, again, a first responder or veteran,
- 36:18that's something they will fucking adore.
- 36:20So here's the interesting thing, man. I know how excited we are.
- 36:24We'll bring our veterans up here to gift them a service dog,
- 36:26which is awesome and exciting.
- 36:28Imagine the excitement even that i would feel like because i
- 36:31get i get super i get just as excited or more than they
- 36:34probably do imagine the excitement you'd feel
- 36:37handing the keys over to a veteran or oh god
- 36:41you're the guy getting guy or gal getting this thing that'd be so i'm gonna
- 36:46do it bro i i think it would be just you know on both sides of it would be outstanding
- 36:52like whether you're giving so hold on receiving do i need to call the wife or
- 36:56does that mean Savage Pest Warfare is behind this. You don't want to call her.
- 37:01Because she would tell you no and she'd rightfully do that. She would be like,
- 37:04we don't need another car.
- 37:06The only request I have if we're doing this is that Eric can't drive it. But Eric's so big.
- 37:11We just make the seats small. Look, I'm pretty sure we can get like all your
- 37:16partners that are already behind you behind this. No, I think we could.
- 37:20I mean, something like that. I think we'd bring them all out.
- 37:22But here's the only thing I'm thinking of And it's just a candid business.
- 37:28I don't want to do anything half-assed. So I want to make sure if we're doing
- 37:30it, I want the right people behind it. I want, you know, because this,
- 37:34that'd be a big deal, bro.
- 37:35I mean, giving away something like that would be awesome. Yeah.
- 37:38But I think we could. We could do it.
- 37:40Yep. I think we could. Like, dude, you, you already committed, so it's a done deal.
- 37:45Hey, let me give Roger's answer. Whatever.
- 37:50Whatever. You're driving. Whatever.
- 37:55Anthony, are you into helping restore it? Absolutely. Yeah. Fuck yeah.
- 37:59We're in, dude. Let's do this. I'm down for whatever.
- 38:02So. Hey, Anthony. Before we commit you to more stuff, let me,
- 38:05let me, dude. Hold on. I got to take notes. I got, I just committed this.
- 38:11You're in a calendar that's like a good soldier right there man yeah next year
- 38:16we have to have this car get started now anthony's gonna be like hey uh i got
- 38:22this 68 camaro where's the money,
- 38:24so hold on this is why we're saying this anthony i
- 38:28called you this evening just to see how you were doing you remember that call
- 38:32so i i i decided to call anthony i roll up in the parking lot i'm smoking a
- 38:37cigar and I'm like Anthony what's going on bro's just chill he's like what's
- 38:41going on to you and I could hear in the background he's just chilling and I'm
- 38:45like I know what happened I was a,
- 38:48So you're coming up here tonight? Shit.
- 38:54He's like, I knew I was forgetting something. Son of a bitch.
- 38:59He got me good today. That's for sure. I got you good. We had this plan.
- 39:04I guess the military part of me was like, holy shit, what time was I supposed
- 39:08to be there? I'm like, it's six o'clock.
- 39:10I could get there 15 minutes prior to the problem, flying down seven.
- 39:15And I made it. Did you call Christy? Yeah. You did, of course.
- 39:17Yeah, I'd let her know. I'm like, hey, you scheduled me baseball practice when
- 39:21I'm supposed to be in baseball. Thank you.
- 39:23Did you get an apology? No chance. She won't apologize to me for shit. Really?
- 39:29Here's what we're going to do, Anthony. So we haven't published any Warriors
- 39:34and Watchmen's podcast yet. Oh, this is just for fun. Yeah, we're not just for fun.
- 39:39So here's what we're going to do. We're going to sideline this.
- 39:41This isn't going to be published, dude. No, I'm joking.
- 39:43No, what I'm saying is we're going to publish the shit out of this.
- 39:47Awesome. Yeah, we're going to publish the shit out of this one,
- 39:49dude, because you committed to a 68 Camaro.
- 39:52Why are we stuck on that? That's fairly specific. We said any car,
- 39:57and all you hear from him is a 68 Camaro.
- 39:59Literally, he started this out. Let's do a car.
- 40:02Let's do a 68 Camaro. I'm going to buy 50,000 tickets. We don't know who this
- 40:07is. We don't know who that is.
- 40:09He's AI trying to get us to commit to something that might be hard to do. I am not AI, Eric.
- 40:20Alexa, shut up.
- 40:25He's waiting to go back to normal why he's why he's doing that i know right
- 40:29that's your normal voice isn't it it's normally pretty high actually i got a
- 40:35real question of you but he like like,
- 40:38not to not to be a killjoy here but given given the
- 40:41sign of the times there's some things we like to talk about that's going on and
- 40:43all that stuff i'm another another conversation you and i
- 40:46have had because i deal with it the federal government roger deals
- 40:49with it in the federal contracting world and all that bro
- 40:52find finding quality employees as a
- 40:55private you're owning your own company and like i hear the phenomenal things
- 40:59you do with the job and i see your heart and your passion and all that other
- 41:04stuff which is awesome but man some of the problems you run into i can't even
- 41:09i just can't even relate given the federal government bro explain to me about.
- 41:14Employment and trying to find quality people it's
- 41:18it's rough out there is the nicest way to put it say what's
- 41:20your turnover it's the turnover if we
- 41:23can get somebody to like make it the 90 days is
- 41:26not too bad he's got recidivism it's crazy
- 41:31the problems that i've run into i have another
- 41:34business owner he has a power wash company and i
- 41:37i tell him every problem that i've ran into like
- 41:40when it happens and like he's like dude are
- 41:43you making this shit up because like the excuses the
- 41:47the reasons not to work it's it's not
- 41:50there in my blood whether military or not like
- 41:53it's it's i disagree with you on that it you
- 41:57might be right there yeah i think the military puts
- 42:00a a precedence in somebody that makes
- 42:03them want to succeed but that but guy i'm
- 42:06gonna tell you this so it's interesting because you know
- 42:08talking to anthony just watching some of this so he
- 42:12puts his best foot forward he overpays him he
- 42:15was given take-home vehicles and gas
- 42:18cards all these other things incentivizing them
- 42:21to want to work right it's like listen i'm investing in you you just got to
- 42:26show up and do the job and represent the company literally that's all they had
- 42:29to do absolutely yeah and evidently that's asking too much and it's it's ridiculous
- 42:35he gets people So like some of the problems he tells me. Were they prior military?
- 42:40I had one that was prior military. Was he really? We don't know.
- 42:45We don't want to talk about that.
- 42:46He claims some of it. I still haven't seen a 214 from the guy. So I don't know.
- 42:51I mean, everybody in this room was prior military.
- 42:56No, that is incorrect. Except for one. That's incorrect. I'm going to put the
- 43:00camera on him. That is incorrect.
- 43:04Boy, he hates that. No, no, no, no. Roger, I'm not trying to dime you out.
- 43:10But I will say this. Like...
- 43:12There is a different thing with prior military. And, Roger, I do believe you
- 43:19could acknowledge this, because
- 43:21But I want to be careful, though. Not all. Most. A lot. Most.
- 43:26And you're right. You're 100%. I mean, it's not all.
- 43:31It's most. But on the flip side of that coin is those that want to start a business
- 43:38or have any ounce of leadership,
- 43:41they could recognize the ones that are not worth their salt.
- 43:47Oh, yeah. Absolutely. 100%.
- 43:50Absolutely. You know, I would say, you know, again, you know,
- 43:54I'm not bashing anybody that's not been in the military because there are people
- 43:58that support all kinds of great shit like Roger.
- 44:02But the thing is, is like, you know, if I hire somebody, if they've been in
- 44:08the military, that's a plus for me.
- 44:11That's a hundred percent a plus. And because I know that. You also know you
- 44:16can speak to them in a different way. You can.
- 44:18I can tell you a lot of stories. You can be like, look, I'll feed you crayons for lunch. Bonus.
- 44:26Well, hell, I mean, getting somebody from the military, I'll give you a quick
- 44:30example. In my job, I hired a couple people.
- 44:33One was for, I won't even say what it was for, but it was a younger girl,
- 44:36and I was hiring her for a particular job, and then I hired a military guy.
- 44:40The younger girl thought that she only had to work seven hours a day because
- 44:43the lunch break was paid for, and so she would show up at 9 o'clock and then
- 44:47leave at 3 because she thought she'd done her hours in a day.
- 44:50I know those are great hours.
- 44:51And I was like, when on earth did that become a thing? What are you talking
- 44:55about? She's like, well, I work an eight hour day. I go, no,
- 44:58lunch is not part of your eight hour day.
- 45:00You need to work eight hours. You get a break after four. The military guy,
- 45:03I had to get to go home. I was like, you need to leave, dude.
- 45:06I ain't staying this late.
- 45:07It's five o'clock. It's time to
- 45:08go. So just a variation of not saying all college students are like that,
- 45:13but the way the world's gone, it is very much a what can you do for me in that
- 45:19sense type of world versus dealing with military men and women are a lot easier.
- 45:24So, I'd like to take a quick break. Please do.
- 45:27After the break, Anthony, I'd like to get into your service.
- 45:30Let's talk about what you did in the Army and kind of what made you you and
- 45:34brought you to this point. And I want to ask you, why not Navy?
- 45:36So, we'll get back to that in a minute. All right.
- 45:39Great. We will be back shortly.
- 45:43Welcome back to Warriors and Watchmen.
- 45:46Roger Singh and Eric Thomas with CJ3 Foundation. and we're with our guest,
- 45:51Anthony Pensamine of Savage Pest Warfare.
- 45:54Anthony, welcome back. Thank you.
- 45:56Hey, brother, I promised you I really wanted to get into your service because
- 46:00obviously warriors and watchmen, what's important to me is the things that made
- 46:05you the hero that we like to support.
- 46:07And I watched your face when I say it because I love to do that to other people
- 46:10because I know what I do when I hear that. Do it back to him.
- 46:12Thank you. Thank you for that.
- 46:14Hey, two things we hate. We hate the word hero, right? You absolutely hate that.
- 46:19Thank you for your service.
- 46:20Oh, that's tough to hear, right? But you know what? I will say this.
- 46:24Somebody told me one time, right, an old codger that had served and said,
- 46:27listen, for some people, that's all they got.
- 46:30Don't take their joy from them. That's the only thing they have to offer.
- 46:33And so I've learned to accept it.
- 46:36I'm still not great with it inside, but I smile. I thank them for it and whatever.
- 46:40But that was always hard for me.
- 46:42But I watched your face when I say hero. I know you hate that.
- 46:45But understand this, to the foundation, you're a hero for what you do for the CJ3 Foundation.
- 46:50You're a hero for your service. You're a hero for being a phenomenal father,
- 46:54phenomenal husband, all those other things.
- 46:56So hats off to you, my man. Phenomenal camper.
- 47:01Absolutely. RVer. And willing to take on risk with an RV. Absolutely.
- 47:05That's amazing. That's fantastic.
- 47:07Hold on. The thing I kept thinking of. That's the real hero job right there.
- 47:10What was the movie? Because the one I kept thinking of is the movie with Jennifer Aniston.
- 47:15Roll out. Oh, Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston when they talk.
- 47:18Yeah. They're moving drugs. The Millers. The Millers. Meet the Millers tonight.
- 47:24This is not really my family. I don't know why I like that movie.
- 47:29That's what I think of, but I see.
- 47:30And you're silly enough that I could see that happening.
- 47:34Because if some shit's going to happen, Anthony, it's going to happen to you.
- 47:37I'm just saying. I have to agree with you. So, hey, so my man,
- 47:41you couldn't make it on the ground, so you had to go up in the air in the Army.
- 47:44So talk to me about your career bro in the army it was totally by chance like
- 47:48i definitely was you know didn't sign up to go flying helicopters or whatever,
- 47:54Bro, you didn't fly them. Come on. Nobody trusts you. I said fly in them.
- 47:58You don't want me flying in. We'd need a lot of helicopters.
- 48:01You missed the in part, Eric, clearly.
- 48:03But no, I got that position with moving ammunition. And the only reason I got
- 48:09it was because of machine gun qualifications.
- 48:12Okay, hold on. Let's go back. What did you start? Like, what year did you get
- 48:15in? What, like, even before that? Yeah.
- 48:18What got you to the recruiting station? What got you, like, what was in your
- 48:21mind? What was going on? Like, did you know that's what you were going to do?
- 48:25Did you knock her up and you needed a job? I mean, what's going on?
- 48:28No, there was no kids involved.
- 48:31No knocking up. At that point. Hence what I, before we went to break,
- 48:34that's why I said, why not Navy? What happened? There was no slapping of the cheeks.
- 48:39No, so, I mean, there was plenty of that, but that's not what led me to the military.
- 48:45That was just Eric before you even knew him. Hold on. A little promo for the military.
- 48:51Like flapping cheeks for you young
- 48:55guys it's basically what i'm
- 48:57hearing from it it's a prison and that's exactly what
- 49:00we call them barracks bunnies for a reason i i have a i have a very funny story
- 49:06before anthony tells his his story here my son like you know he's 10 this is
- 49:14like two years ago i'm dropping him off and he's playing a video game he's like
- 49:18i'm gonna slap Slap that person's cheeks.
- 49:21And I'm like, so I'm like, what?
- 49:26I'm like, no. So we drop him off.
- 49:33We drop him off at Mike's house, Mike Reardon's house, and he's getting out
- 49:38and he's like, man, I want him to slap my cheeks.
- 49:47I hope you had a long talk about meaning, sir.
- 49:54Oh, I did. I did. I was like, dude, there's no slapping cheeks anymore, bro.
- 49:57Hey, what was that question? Is there a slang we don't know that changed everything?
- 50:01Did everything change on it?
- 50:02Slapping cheeks. Slapping cheeks is something different now. I don't know. Oh, Lord.
- 50:08Okay, Anthony, back to you, dude. Do not go to Boy Scouts or the Army and say, slap my cheeks.
- 50:15That is a no-go. So is that your answer to why not Navy? I get it now.
- 50:23Insert itself. Sorry, bro. Hey, we're in 19 what?
- 50:29Or 2000. When did you? It was 2005.
- 50:33God, baby.
- 50:35Boy. I told you he was younger than us, Eric. So, bro, what was going on?
- 50:40So at that time, obviously I watched September 11th in my high school.
- 50:45What was that? Yeah. What happened that day?
- 50:50Well, if we're slapping cheeks, I don't know what's going on anymore.
- 50:55Are we sure? What does September 11th mean?
- 50:57So, so we watched that. I was, I was a sophomore in high school.
- 51:01You were where that day? In Sterling, Virginia. I was in my study hall in the
- 51:06cafeteria and they put it on the cafeteria.
- 51:08So I totally put it up on the TV. Yep. I remember the one tower was burning.
- 51:14The other one hadn't been hit yet. There was nothing else going on. How old were you?
- 51:18I was 16 and a half. What was going through your brain at that?
- 51:22Because, I mean, terrorism and things like that aren't what go through your
- 51:25brain. So what were you thinking when you saw that? My first thought was, like, it's a fire.
- 51:29And then the second, like, the second tower was hit, we seen it live on TV.
- 51:34And I was like, dude, that's a missile.
- 51:35Like, that was my thought in the process there. And I remember it very vividly.
- 51:40I also remember at the time my cousin, Danny Sweeney, He actually lives down in Stafford.
- 51:45He's retired Coast Guard now, but he was in the Army at the time.
- 51:48Oh, so he was almost military.
- 51:50No, he was. He was real military before he did the Coast Guard.
- 51:53Oh, Coast Guard. Derek, stop upsetting our armed forces, sir.
- 51:59Everybody's getting all hot and bothered right now. We get to say it in here.
- 52:03Amongst brothers, we get to say it. You understand this goes out to the masses
- 52:06at some point. It actually goes out to the public, Derek.
- 52:09Who does Mikey work for? Coast Guard. Coast Guard.
- 52:14Yeah so even better so all right keep going
- 52:17so yeah he's in boot camp at this time close cousin growing up and he said he
- 52:23told me after this was a couple months later i'm speaking to him he said when
- 52:27it when it happened live he was in boot camp and he they they called a meeting
- 52:32they said hey this is boot camp we are training we are going to war,
- 52:37The shit became real for him, like, immediately. And he joined the military. For God, it's funny.
- 52:42No, I think for him more it was to get out of trouble.
- 52:47I don't think any of us growing up were, like, these, like, oh,
- 52:50you know, hero. I'm going to be the best soldier I can be growing up. No, dude, I get that.
- 52:55I signed up just to sign. I just felt the obligation to serve.
- 52:58It wasn't nothing heroic. It was just, why not do that? Yeah, exactly.
- 53:02We weren't even at war when I came in. I'm like, I may, I may not,
- 53:06but that wasn't what was first and foremost on my mind.
- 53:09And then, so for me, that was 2001. Now, two years go by, I graduate high school.
- 53:16Like, what was your plan finishing school? What was your plan?
- 53:19So my plan was, it wasn't the most well thought out play. Here we go.
- 53:23It never is. You're going to be an overpaid gigolo? No, it was pretty damn close.
- 53:29I know we need that thing out. I can make money getting naked.
- 53:32It's fine. That's all right. It's fine. Slapped my cheeks. Slapping cheeks.
- 53:38But no, it was for me, he's slapping cheeks in the background.
- 53:44So we got Guy and Mini-Me behind me. There's a whole, like, smoke show going on.
- 53:51I'm glad I can't see it. Yeah, you're lucky. Chimes and Roses is playing back here, slapping cheeks.
- 54:00Where were we? I forgot. So post 9-11, you're a Coast Guard buddy.
- 54:04A couple years later, you— Yep. So that was my cousin.
- 54:08He was in the Army boot camp at the time. He served, I think, eight years in the Army.
- 54:13Deployed three times to iraq i don't
- 54:16know all iraq so he went early oh yeah he was there
- 54:19for the invasion okay and i remember every
- 54:22now and then we would get a phone call with him and for me it was like i don't
- 54:26know if it was in the blood or whatnot but i was just so curious like what what
- 54:30war was like what was going on there i know i had seen it on tv were you but
- 54:34did you actively watch it like when it was on were you watching it every every
- 54:38time i could catch it Bro, I was attracted to it. Yeah.
- 54:42Like, I could not take my... Because I remember my generation,
- 54:45right? Like, first time was Desert Storm, which was amazing how fast it went, right?
- 54:49But, dude, I couldn't peel away from it. I had to watch it. Yeah,
- 54:52Desert Storm, Desert Shield.
- 54:54So, I get that, dude. I mean, you just... Like, there was a...
- 54:57An urge inside you to watch that i don't know what it was a
- 55:01curiosity to like what what does war look
- 55:04like like what does what are the guys around like
- 55:07how are they feeling right now what are they doing well and can i do that what's
- 55:12that no okay that's what i asked myself can i do that yeah yeah exactly am i
- 55:17always right because i mean come on look at our size look at our whatever we've
- 55:21been challenged throughout our lives whether it's on a sport field whether it's
- 55:24what And I always had that question. I wonder if I can do that.
- 55:27Exactly. Yeah. Can I hang? Can I do it?
- 55:30What's boot camp like? How do I get to that level? At that time,
- 55:34I was still football size, like a lineman. I was a big dude, kind of like I am now.
- 55:39And I was just like, man, I don't know if I can run. And that was probably what
- 55:42delayed me a whole year was, hey, I don't know if I can run that.
- 55:46If I know what I know now, I probably would have joined a little bit sooner.
- 55:49But I ended up going to West Virginia University. I picked that school because
- 55:53it was top number one in Playboy.
- 55:55So I was like, that's where I need to be. That's where my son went.
- 55:58Yeah, outstanding school. Absolutely.
- 56:02It's a slap in cheek sound.
- 56:05I thought he was about to play John Denver. Country Roads. I thought that was coming along.
- 56:12No, I wanted to play this one because you were in West Virginia.
- 56:16This is called Slapping Cheeks.
- 56:21I'm telling you, if it's not a slang word now, it's going to be by the end of
- 56:24this show. Hey, let's slap cheeks, dude.
- 56:31Roger, you over there slapping cheeks? Yes, I am. You want to slap them back?
- 56:37Sorry, Anthony. Anthony, go. Do it. Do it. All right, I'm back.
- 56:42So yeah curiosity was the biggest the biggest thing for
- 56:45me to why to join so what that led to
- 56:48was when you got to i went to meps eventually i
- 56:51was two years at school um in school
- 56:54i learned a couple things how to how to drink a lot which is like very helpful
- 56:58in my life like i could handle a little bit more alcohol than probably i should
- 57:01have but that did prepare you for the army absolutely and i was gonna say west
- 57:05virginia prepares you for a lot of shit too it does yeah and the other thing
- 57:09is I noticed that I could not stand like I,
- 57:14you know, you go to school and the whole thing is to go to school,
- 57:17get your degree, get a job. Yeah.
- 57:18I can't stand being inside. Like I love to be outside. I don't really care what the weather is.
- 57:23I think you just called us out, Eric. I think that's what I just heard from
- 57:26that. You all are little bitches and you should have gotten an outdoor job.
- 57:30The military slang is pogue. Yeah.
- 57:33Yeah. Person other than grunt. Yep. I mean, look, it all goes back to.
- 57:46And the new opening song to the show is right there. We're basically making it.
- 57:52I'm going to get sued for that. One day, Anthony's going to be able to finish
- 57:57the story. He will, sorry.
- 58:00That's good. All right, sir.
- 58:03So, yeah, I left one day from class, went straight to a recruiter.
- 58:08I actually made the newspaper for going to the recruiter because i went to the
- 58:13marine corps recruiter twice there was nobody yeah right oh whoa whoa whoa whoa this is getting good,
- 58:20this is outstanding nobody home yeah i gave this when i got out of boot camp
- 58:26they do you go to the recruiter for 12 days or something like that and i gave
- 58:30this story to somebody which ended up in the west virginia journal that's awesome and like,
- 58:35The Marine Corps recruiting station was doing push-ups for weeks over the whole
- 58:40story because nobody was there.
- 58:42Because the lights were on and nobody was there.
- 58:46Damn straight. This was printed. My mom actually still has the article because
- 58:50it was like an interview on May.
- 58:51Like, look. Oh, this is amazing. It needs to be posted immediately.
- 58:56As they should have been. As they should have been. They were on vacation is what I'm hearing.
- 59:02Wait, wait, wait, wait. So, Anthony, where were you from in West Virginia?
- 59:08So I'm originally from here, but I was at school in Morgantown. WVU, baby, come on.
- 59:14Mountaineers. Good old Morgantown. That recruiting station's like, that's on my radar now.
- 59:19So no longer in existence. What did they convince you to sign up to do?
- 59:23So they convinced me, they didn't convince me to do anything.
- 59:26So what they picked, they gave me the test or whatever. They were like,
- 59:29you can pick any job. What do you mean the test? You're talking about ASVAB?
- 59:32ASVAB, come on, man. It's not the test.
- 59:34The test, they try to figure out what you can handle or whatever.
- 59:39Your aptitude test. Yes. I got a really good score. And they were like,
- 59:42you can pick any job you want. And I was like, well, we're going to war, right?
- 59:45And the recruiter was like, it's a good chance.
- 59:48And I looked through the list and I was like, munitions.
- 59:51And he was like, of all the jobs you can pick, why would you pick that?
- 59:54I'm like, because you can keep the fucking water. You can keep your extra training.
- 59:58As long as I got munitions when I go to Iraq, I'll be good. But you're not the guy shooting them.
- 1:00:04That's what it was supposed to be, or whatever, I guess. He made something totally
- 1:00:08different, and he just got, hey, here's your ammo.
- 1:00:11Well, yeah, I just wanted to not be out of ammo.
- 1:00:13I'm like, dude, if I'm returning fire, the last thing I want to be doing is looking for ammo.
- 1:00:17And that is literally how I picked my job.
- 1:00:21As i joined the military how i ended up on helicopters though was the machine gun qualification,
- 1:00:28to go you know when you're getting ready to deploy you're doing a machine
- 1:00:31gun qualification and this is a total joke as well because
- 1:00:34we're all lined up at the at the 50 cal
- 1:00:36range you get your i think it's 18 rounds to
- 1:00:40qualify it's something weird like hold on guys can i
- 1:00:42ask this question yeah is this just me i could have swore i
- 1:00:45just heard i've got a kid that's in the military things have
- 1:00:48changed yeah i'll admit this i'm getting old i'm 50 we all
- 1:00:51talked about that earlier oh i didn't give your age so
- 1:00:54so i use this thing i use a saying
- 1:00:57based off our military slang when something's going wrong or something going
- 1:01:00wrong i say you need to adjust your headspace and timing is it true that a 50
- 1:01:05cal no longer has headspace and timing oh i don't i don't know ours did yes
- 1:01:09ours did yeah well but it's not 2005 no 2026 not true but i heard it doesn't anymore Bullshit.
- 1:01:16What do you think? A mod do says headspace. No, I'm telling you,
- 1:01:19we need to look this up because I was told by a young enlisted soldier that
- 1:01:23happens to be related to me that I might have to whoop his head.
- 1:01:26I would be shocked if they don't know. I don't think that's accurate.
- 1:01:31So we're checking. I just can't. Okay. So Mr. Machine Gunner, go ahead.
- 1:01:35So the qualification itself was like, I think I forget the number of rounds
- 1:01:39and I don't know the number of rounds to qualify because I never adhered to that.
- 1:01:43I'm the ammo. You didn't list the rules? No, absolutely.
- 1:01:46I'm the ammo person. I'm going up there to qualify. So what,
- 1:01:50what is it? What do I do? I got 300 rounds linked together.
- 1:01:53I made my own link or whatever connected and I lit it up.
- 1:01:57Like I was probably going in, you know, 10 to 20 round burst,
- 1:02:01not how you're supposed to. Nope.
- 1:02:03As I get done firing, you couldn't see anything on the range.
- 1:02:08Like, there was dust everywhere.
- 1:02:10There was nothing. Like, I hit every little square foot on the range.
- 1:02:14And the Sergeant First Class that was in charge of the range at the time,
- 1:02:18the NCOIC, he comes by, stands behind me. He was like, we got one expert.
- 1:02:23And that is how I ended up in the helicopter.
- 1:02:27It is a true story. By having way too many rounds. Well, I hit everything.
- 1:02:31It doesn't matter. so children if you break the rules it does pay off sometimes
- 1:02:35yeah so your your theme song needs to be lawyers guns and money yeah there you go,
- 1:02:44but yeah so immediately after that it was they were
- 1:02:47like hey this is what we're doing when we're deploying you need to go you
- 1:02:50know to the helicopter training which this is all badass yeah
- 1:02:53i mean honestly that's pretty good and it's in hawaii so like
- 1:02:56you're i'm flying to the big island to shoot the uh
- 1:02:59240 off the door guns on the blackhawks
- 1:03:03and the chinooks and did you have to get aerosol to go no i
- 1:03:06did not really i'm actually surprised they closed the school what yeah
- 1:03:10in hawaii it was closed at the time interesting yeah yeah that was like what
- 1:03:14was going on in the world at the time uh iraq that was the only thing i don't
- 1:03:18remember that just a little bit yeah they closed the aerosol school and that
- 1:03:22was like when i got hawaii as my duty station you know after coming out of AIT, all that stuff.
- 1:03:28I was supposed to go to 82nd to go to jump school.
- 1:03:32And as I'm getting like the orders for where I'm going is the same time you're
- 1:03:36filling out for jump school.
- 1:03:37And I got my orders to say, it said Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
- 1:03:41And I literally just pushed the jump school paperwork.
- 1:03:44I was like, nah, I'll never be able to afford to go to Hawaii.
- 1:03:48We know this in the Army. If you get an assignment like that, you go.
- 1:03:52We're going to go back to your new theme song of slapping cheeks.
- 1:03:55Oh, there we go. With the hula. Yeah.
- 1:03:59He's out there with the Samoans, my people, apparently. He thinks that I am
- 1:04:02and just dancing with the scrubs.
- 1:04:05They're bigger targets. They're easier to hit. I mean.
- 1:04:08I used to be skinny people. Except for the Mahus, the Mahus,
- 1:04:11man. Yeah, the Mahus are out there.
- 1:04:13No. They're deep in the safety brief every weekend. You can't fight with the Mahus, bro.
- 1:04:19There's so many people Googling a Mahu, like, right now. I'm like, what is that?
- 1:04:23What is that? Don't fuck with the Mahus. So what OIF did you go to? It was OIF 4-5.
- 1:04:32So we were out there at the same time. We've talked about that.
- 1:04:35There's a really good chance I was riding on your helicopter,
- 1:04:38which I think is hilarious. Absolutely.
- 1:04:40Small fucking world. It really is because like out there in theater or whatever,
- 1:04:45they're only flying a handful of helicopters. So I meet people all the time.
- 1:04:51Not all the time. Like, I guess more than I thought I should.
- 1:04:55And it's like, hey, they were on a helicopter at the same time I was out there.
- 1:04:58And it's like, wow, that is the smallest world ever. Well, hold on.
- 1:05:00If I remember a story, maybe I'm wrong. Could just be my old age writer.
- 1:05:0650. Bro, was it the Toby Keith story? What was it?
- 1:05:10You and I walked the dog on one flight that I was like, bro, I know—,
- 1:05:14I knew without a doubt we were on the same, I don't remember what it was.
- 1:05:18I'm not, I'm not even recalling that one. I mean, all you had to do was look
- 1:05:21for the biggest asshole that was on your, your chopper. And it was Eric.
- 1:05:25I looked a little different.
- 1:05:28He had no beard. I had a beard down on my belly button back then.
- 1:05:31Oh, did you? Yeah. The biggest douchebag on the helicopter. In a man dress.
- 1:05:36So the guy that looked like he was carrying weed to the people up there.
- 1:05:40He had a suitcase of money.
- 1:05:42That was Eric. Hawaiian shirt and a beard down to his stomach that's awesome
- 1:05:46but you know I had a cigar in my mouth he probably did always so what do you
- 1:05:51think I racked man pretty cool I it was cool if it wasn't like a prison for the most part,
- 1:05:57like the best part of it was every time you go outside the wire for me,
- 1:06:03I hated waiting you're not muted back there guy in the sky.
- 1:06:09The I hated the waiting game yeah I hated The helicopter and the moving the
- 1:06:15munitions through the helicopter was probably like my favorite part of it because
- 1:06:19I would literally go to every city in Iraq.
- 1:06:21The missions, you're talking two, three days where you're out on the helicopters.
- 1:06:25You know, you land in places. Our number one travel area was Missoula.
- 1:06:32There's definitely a lot going on in Missoula all the time, but they did have
- 1:06:36humidity and trees there.
- 1:06:37So it was always nice to visit that because the rest of Iraq was not.
- 1:06:41So clear something up here.
- 1:06:43Flight time to maintenance hours.
- 1:06:46I don't know those. Is it like two to one kind of thing? It's up there. It's pretty high.
- 1:06:51The amount of maintenance hours required for flight time, right?
- 1:06:54Absolutely. It's required more when you're not deployed, especially with the
- 1:07:00crew you're running with. It all depends on, you know, what cavalry unit you're
- 1:07:04flying with, on what rules they're actually going to follow there.
- 1:07:08That's cool. Oh, Roger. Hey, welcome to it. Yes. Hey, how are you guys doing?
- 1:07:13So you were talking about the war or Iraq. I don't know which one.
- 1:07:17The war for our generation.
- 1:07:19Yes. For your generation, because I'm a little younger. It's fine. Whatever.
- 1:07:23Did you get to Afghanistan, Anthony? No, I did not. I was in Iraq all of 2006 and all of 2007.
- 1:07:30The unit uh the 25th did deploy as i
- 1:07:33was getting out and i had the option to either deploy with them
- 1:07:36or get out which i chose the option to get out in my
- 1:07:40mind at the time that was my right decision six months after getting out i was
- 1:07:44back at a recruiter seeing if i could get back in hold on let me go to that
- 1:07:48and not not to poke holes in you or nothing like that but i'm gonna tell you
- 1:07:52so i know what i went through getting out because i didn't retire i didn't you
- 1:07:55know i got injured i got some other things.
- 1:07:59Did you struggle with it because it was hard to transition in or you,
- 1:08:03you just legitimately needed back in?
- 1:08:05Like, like, you know, some of it is just because it's a tough transition.
- 1:08:09We don't transition well.
- 1:08:10Yeah. It's, it was a combination of both.
- 1:08:13I, I originally got out. It was a, it was a toll on my mother of all people.
- 1:08:18Like I'm pretty sure she suffered the most from my deployments out of anybody in my family.
- 1:08:22So that was one of the key things to me getting out of the military and,
- 1:08:27going back in though yeah it was a transition thing it
- 1:08:30was like okay i go back to the workforce and i
- 1:08:33realize i'm not like the rest of the people that
- 1:08:36i'm working with and it made me feel like at a
- 1:08:38place or that i was working too hard doing
- 1:08:41what i was doing i was what'd you
- 1:08:45get out and do i got out so for about six
- 1:08:49months or eight months to a year i was restoring muscle cars
- 1:08:52which we were talking about cars earlier but after that i got
- 1:08:55a job doing construction which that just
- 1:08:58didn't work out for me you know it's very it was
- 1:09:01a low level construction job so i was basically a laborer and then
- 1:09:04i got into pest control and at this job it
- 1:09:06was like there's 35 other people that i'm working with and i was doing like
- 1:09:11the amount of stops of two people every single day and it was like for me i'm
- 1:09:16like hey you know like i don't i don't fit in here you know i don't understand
- 1:09:21why these people are complaining that they had to walk around the house to me it was just like.
- 1:09:26It's 200 feet. You just walk around the house the one time. So that was probably
- 1:09:32the biggest adjustment part.
- 1:09:34I did have an outlet, though, because I was a bouncer at the same time.
- 1:09:38So I got to use something. So you're busting skulls? Yeah.
- 1:09:41So I got to use that. How many squirrels did you kill? He's about to kill one at your house.
- 1:09:47Come on, dude. My squirrel count is way high, that's for sure.
- 1:09:51Hey, and if we're talking to Christy, we mean animals, not the other squirrels.
- 1:09:56Absolutely we didn't say beavers way to clarify i was saying that's wrong animal
- 1:10:01here come on i'm scared of his wife so i wouldn't clarify what we mean is really
- 1:10:06a squirrel that's legit a squirrel cousin of rat.
- 1:10:13Where'd you bounce i bounced at our in arlington there was a claret and ballroom
- 1:10:18i bounced there for a little while fun and it was cool because i was still kind
- 1:10:22of in like military shape so i was So he's the smallest bouncer.
- 1:10:25I'm kind of wondering if I might have gotten into a fight one night. I don't recall.
- 1:10:29Your jaw is still in one piece.
- 1:10:32No, it's not. I mean, like you might be a 6'8 Indian guy.
- 1:10:37I'm going to say this, and especially the younger Anthony, Anthony likes to squabble. Oh, yeah.
- 1:10:44So let's not even. So he was looking for a fight.
- 1:10:48I know Anthony well. I was Georgetown. I was Georgetown. I worked in Georgetown.
- 1:10:52I bounced. I bartended out there for a long time, but I was well before you
- 1:10:55were probably old enough to walk. Okay. All right.
- 1:10:59I enjoyed bouncing. It was also like an anti-drinking thing.
- 1:11:03You know, like if you're bouncing work and you're not really drinking.
- 1:11:06I don't really... That's why you didn't work in Georgetown. We used to drink
- 1:11:09at the door all the time. We were hammered. Snorting coke.
- 1:11:13That's no, sir. Joking, joking? No, sir. So, bro, when you finally decided to
- 1:11:17grow up and quit crushing skulls at a bar and you got tired of working,
- 1:11:22being one of the normal workers, like, bro, I'm going to tell you this.
- 1:11:25Starting your own business is not an easy thing.
- 1:11:28No, it's not. So where and how did you decide, I'm going to take this scary-ass
- 1:11:32step out and do this thing? It was...
- 1:11:38I found out the job I was working for, the managers were stealing from me.
- 1:11:41So when you convert that over, that would be like your NCOIC taking,
- 1:11:48you know, taking the day off while everybody's working.
- 1:11:51So when I found that out. That'd be like a hooker stealing from a pimp.
- 1:11:59Joking, choking, choking. But no, I, you know, discovering that and then I,
- 1:12:04you know, immediately myself, I'm going to call them out like,
- 1:12:07hey, you know, Can you just pay me the correct amount of money going forward?
- 1:12:10And the response I got there was, we're your managers. We should get that.
- 1:12:15And I was like, okay, here's my two-week notice. And they legit said.
- 1:12:20So their jaws are broken, and then you left.
- 1:12:22Yeah, pretty much. That would have been my temperament at that point.
- 1:12:25I'd have been like, y'all can fucking kiss my balls.
- 1:12:27So, Anthony, I got like a serious question. Because a lot of veterans and first
- 1:12:33responders, especially veterans, I don't know first responders because I haven't been one.
- 1:12:40You know, we get sucked into the whole, I don't believe the military,
- 1:12:47especially the Marine Corps, maybe, maybe the army, Navy, Air Force has something different.
- 1:12:53I don't believe there is something that tells you to go and be an entrepreneur. I don't think it exists.
- 1:13:01No, it does not. And like, it drives me crazy. You get used to working for somebody. Yeah.
- 1:13:05And it tells you how to take orders real well. Exactly. Well,
- 1:13:08the thing is, though, is like there should be because the best people that can
- 1:13:12be entrepreneurs and start a business, I believe, are veterans.
- 1:13:15And my soul being, I believe, like, look, you know, if there's someone that's
- 1:13:20been in, they should have a program that, you know, it's not taps.
- 1:13:26It's teaching you how to be an entrepreneur, showing you how to do taxes,
- 1:13:31this, that, and the other.
- 1:13:32So my question is this, like being an entrepreneur coming, you know,
- 1:13:38as a veteran, what was your drive to do it?
- 1:13:44I think the military builds that part in for you. The ability to not quit, not give up.
- 1:13:50Embrace the suck. Yeah, get whatever you have to do, get it done.
- 1:13:54That helped me along the way. Making the decision for a lot of people is the
- 1:14:00scariest part, but I don't even think it needs to be scary. If you are an NCO
- 1:14:05in the military, you can lead whoever you need to.
- 1:14:09For the most part, there are some areas of the military where you don't learn stuff like that.
- 1:14:14But if you can lead troops into battle or if you can lead a squad or even if
- 1:14:19you can just lead a handful of people, inside of you, you have the ability to
- 1:14:24do what it takes to run a business.
- 1:14:27What are some of the cliffhangers or pitfalls?
- 1:14:34I was just going to ask, tell me a
- 1:14:37time or two when you just fucked up and something that
- 1:14:40a good lesson for people that want to go that route it's just
- 1:14:44honestly it's it's the
- 1:14:47every aspect of the business you're responsible
- 1:14:50for and that's where a lot of people fail to
- 1:14:53think uh like hey i can just start my business i'm going
- 1:14:56to do this but they want to work an eight
- 1:14:59hour day i think we were discussing exactly you're
- 1:15:02you're 24 7 yep because nobody cares
- 1:15:05about your business like you do except yeah yep and
- 1:15:08then as the business owner people just look at you like oh you're
- 1:15:11the business owner you have it easy and that's it's
- 1:15:14the complete opposite right like you're waking up before everybody
- 1:15:17you're going to bed after everybody because why they
- 1:15:19go home you still got a job to do and no matter what you do nobody
- 1:15:23understands what you're doing right i think i was i don't think i was running
- 1:15:26the business almost five years before my wife got involved with it she is my
- 1:15:30office manager does a great job at it better than you yeah way better I have
- 1:15:35to interrupt you on this because this is a, an important piece of.
- 1:15:41And we kind of talked about this, the Eric and Roger were on not that smart,
- 1:15:48not long ago. And we talked about this.
- 1:15:51And one of the things that the host was saying is like, you just can't quit.
- 1:15:55You have to have someone that supports you.
- 1:15:57Absolutely. And the thing is, is like when it comes to spouses and veterans,
- 1:16:02like spouses, if, if that spouse has been with you through thick and thin, you know, I can tell you.
- 1:16:11From my experience, I'm not a successful entrepreneur.
- 1:16:15I hope to be someday, right? I'm trying to start something.
- 1:16:19But I can tell you that my spouse has been there through thick and thin.
- 1:16:24And just because she does not, sometimes I get really discouraged because I
- 1:16:29feel like she's not supporting me sometimes. But I know she does.
- 1:16:33And I feel like that story probably exists with you.
- 1:16:37Cause you just said, okay, you know, like after five years, she really started
- 1:16:42pouring in and you might've had the same, that same feeling.
- 1:16:45And the thing is, is like, those stories are really important to talk about
- 1:16:50of, of being a veteran and an entrepreneur.
- 1:16:53It's not that they don't support you. It's maybe, you know, maybe it's something
- 1:16:58that's, that's different, that draws them into, to start supporting or whatever
- 1:17:02the case might be. Right.
- 1:17:03Cause I know like my spouse supports me through thick and thin.
- 1:17:08Some sometimes i i have that feeling that
- 1:17:10she doesn't and like have you had that feeling
- 1:17:13absolutely well i must speak for anthony real quick one
- 1:17:16of the things was so his wife had a phenomenal career
- 1:17:19over this very independent woman very smart
- 1:17:22had a great career and there was a conscientious decision
- 1:17:26where where family take care of the family and
- 1:17:29supporting your job that that she made that
- 1:17:32made the transition right absolutely yeah she she was
- 1:17:35a vp at a at a big bank no education no
- 1:17:38college degree is what i mean very very she
- 1:17:43graduated from the fourth grade of
- 1:17:46west virginia yes she she
- 1:17:50had a degree from third grade yeah pretty much
- 1:17:53though she herself is her own success
- 1:17:56story and it has nothing to do with
- 1:17:59anything other than hard work learn through
- 1:18:02adversity and i admire that of her she she
- 1:18:06like i said most people that are going to work at a
- 1:18:08bank or be a vp at a big big bank they're going to have multiple degrees she
- 1:18:14did it by getting getting done i would tell her all the time she should have
- 1:18:18joined the military because she would have been outstanding at it and she's
- 1:18:20like but i'm not strong and i'm like dude you are you're fucking headstrong
- 1:18:24like as hard as they come yeah you would have been fine and she's like.
- 1:18:29I don't know what people are picturing, but she is like this beautiful little bikini model.
- 1:18:33Like she is not. She was a card. She was like. Hold on. Can I say it?
- 1:18:36What's that? She was a card girl for a boxing ring, right?
- 1:18:39And all that. Yep. If that puts anything into perspective, she's a pretty lady.
- 1:18:43And you've been. Dear God, please do. I know you're outside.
- 1:18:47I know you're not catching a lot of the news because you're busy.
- 1:18:49First of all, you're in what I'd consider the trades work, right?
- 1:18:53And phenomenal for you because I don't think there's enough people that get
- 1:18:56into the trades. I think it's an opportunity like you did to own your own business,
- 1:19:00and I know what I got to pay.
- 1:19:02As soon as I have to call somebody to work on the house or whatever,
- 1:19:05man, I know what I got to pay.
- 1:19:06So the trades are phenomenal, like Mike Rowe and some of that other stuff,
- 1:19:10big supporters. Mike Rowe, badass.
- 1:19:12There's too many people out there with a college degree and no job when there's
- 1:19:17jobs that need to happen, and we need those people to have those jobs.
- 1:19:21So kudos to you. But going back to, I know you probably don't get a chance,
- 1:19:25a lot of chance to watch TV and stuff, but being that you were in Iraq,
- 1:19:29I have this ideology that with what's going on in Iran right now, right?
- 1:19:34We were talking earlier before you showed up. A lot of what we fought in Iraq was...
- 1:19:40Was from Iran, whether it was the IED that I got blown up by,
- 1:19:44whether it was the fighters, whether it was whatever, man.
- 1:19:48So I'm curious with what's going on, man. What are your thoughts?
- 1:19:51Not trying to get all political.
- 1:19:52I don't care whether you have a D or an R. I don't give a damn about any of
- 1:19:55that. But from your veteran perspective.
- 1:19:57You made that sound like swear words, by the way. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:20:00Giving your time over in Iraq and all that.
- 1:20:03What are you thinking about with what's going on in Iran? Something really curious.
- 1:20:07The only, my only answer for that is
- 1:20:11killable no no no let the
- 1:20:13paramedics sort him out no his answer is
- 1:20:16savage pest control yeah they need some pest
- 1:20:19control over there if i can't get put into
- 1:20:22the game i don't want to no and it's 100
- 1:20:25true i read i think
- 1:20:28it was about it was just before my vacation that
- 1:20:32they upped the enlistment age to 42 and if
- 1:20:35you called my wife right now she will do anything right
- 1:20:38now to get me not to enlist right because it's
- 1:20:41it's i see it happening and i know that like let's say i could get back in the
- 1:20:46military that i'd be helping people around me by being in the military no offense
- 1:20:50though i'm gonna tell you i'm gonna tell you this from from being a older dude
- 1:20:54that valued my time in the military so i we hear a lot man if i could just go
- 1:20:59back in or man if i could just.
- 1:21:02As much as I respect our military, my son's in, I value the hell out of what he's doing.
- 1:21:06It's not the military you left, bro. Oh, I'm well aware. Not just your age,
- 1:21:11but do you think you could go back in? I don't think I could, bro.
- 1:21:15That's what I've been. I'm back to the same curiosity. Could I fucking do it
- 1:21:20again? And I know. You can also be bi-curious, too.
- 1:21:24We're not curious about that shit. Fast forward 50 years.
- 1:21:29I'm wondering. Once again, what do you keep asking me? Why not the Navy?
- 1:21:35Midges and by curiosity. So, yeah. Well, my thing is, I've been all the other
- 1:21:41places. I'm like, this is another OIF.
- 1:21:43It's just Iran versus Iraq. And that'd be cool as hell to be there.
- 1:21:46And going back to my original statement, that was where half the problems we
- 1:21:51were fighting in Iraq were coming from anyway.
- 1:21:54Absolutely. We weren't necessarily just fighting Iraq. A lot of that was Iran.
- 1:21:57A hundred percent. And so I would love to go in there and just wreak havoc.
- 1:22:02Yeah. Going to my service dog's name and wreak havoc. You know what I mean?
- 1:22:05Yeah, that'd be awesome.
- 1:22:07Yeah, no, my thoughts on it are strictly, you know, geared towards the people
- 1:22:11who are going to deploy or, you know, whatever happens. Red Friday.
- 1:22:15And how best they can be helped.
- 1:22:18And in my eyes, what you said, the military is different. So you have a gap
- 1:22:24of the not so different military and the different military.
- 1:22:28And if, you know, if you got the right troops in place, you know,
- 1:22:31that's great. For me, it's, can I help anybody?
- 1:22:34And that's, that was my only thought on the whole situation.
- 1:22:37Hey, Anthony, let me ask you this.
- 1:22:38Do you have a son? Yes, I do.
- 1:22:41Cool son. Does Eric, do you have a son? My son's in the Army.
- 1:22:45Roger, do you have a son? I do. How old are your sons?
- 1:22:50Mine's 13. Okay. God, I don't want to get this wrong. 26, 27.
- 1:22:55And Roger? He just screwed up. Mine's 29. Is your son serving military service? He is not.
- 1:23:02Eric, yours is. Yes, sir. And Anthony? I can almost.
- 1:23:07Do you believe yours will? I can almost guarantee I won't put that on him and
- 1:23:11I never tell him what to do, but he, I guess just, I don't know if it's,
- 1:23:16yeah, he, he loves to shoot.
- 1:23:19He loves to be outside. Very physical person.
- 1:23:22And I'm going to say this, Andy emulates his daddy. Let me ask you this.
- 1:23:27Anthony, what generation did your family serve?
- 1:23:32Like Vietnam, World War II, World War I? uh for
- 1:23:35me it was my the only other person in my
- 1:23:39family that was military was my grandfather he was world
- 1:23:42war ii marine corps too yeah yeah so
- 1:23:46roger yours was eric you yeah all
- 1:23:48the way back and my dad vietnam yep and yep now now the reason why i bring that
- 1:23:54up is um because you know we we look at you know what we believe in and what
- 1:24:01we should fight for like i i strongly believe even and I don't want it. I mean, my son's 10.
- 1:24:07I know he's going to go to war. I just...
- 1:24:11It is in our genes. Like my great-grandfather, my grandfather,
- 1:24:16my dad, myself, we went to war.
- 1:24:19And it's the same thing with everybody here.
- 1:24:22And, you know, it's really the optic that you look at it of like,
- 1:24:29okay, you know, we're the ones that are fighting this, the 1%.
- 1:24:35And you look at the 99% that don't.
- 1:24:40And it's that optic is
- 1:24:43very uh when you take a
- 1:24:46step back it's very hard to look at that because
- 1:24:49it's always been that it's always been
- 1:24:52that and um you know it's it's
- 1:24:55surreal to look at it and it's also good it's
- 1:24:59also good because we know where our families are you
- 1:25:02know how we believe you know they they follow us you
- 1:25:06know i i followed my dad never wanted me
- 1:25:09to to do anything in fact i didn't even tell him i joined the marine
- 1:25:12corps you know when when i when i graduated boot camp he showed up i didn't
- 1:25:17even know we knew because i didn't tell him he didn't want me to do that you
- 1:25:22know and i called mine after i enlisted yeah and and the thing is is like i
- 1:25:28went to the The recruiter then called him and said, I'm leaving.
- 1:25:31It's surreal that there's a few that really goes forth that is driven in their genes.
- 1:25:41Driven in their genes to protect the many.
- 1:25:46And it's something that no one really talks about. No one really talks about.
- 1:25:51You know, we always see on LinkedIn. We always see on Facebook.
- 1:25:54We see on TikTok. We see on Twitter, you know, the person that sacrificed,
- 1:25:59the person that got a medal, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:26:01But no one ever talks about the 1%.
- 1:26:04And, you know, the 1% that actually goes and does it. It doesn't matter if they die.
- 1:26:10It doesn't matter if they lose a limb or get injured. but it's the 1% that actually
- 1:26:15goes and fucking does it, man. And that's incredible.
- 1:26:19That's, that's fucking incredible to me. It's incredible.
- 1:26:24And no one talks about that shit. A guy in the sky, let me ask you a question, man.
- 1:26:29We're just talking about Iran and, and, and after watching the stuff in Russia
- 1:26:33and things like that, bro, I'm going to tell you this.
- 1:26:36This is one of the things I will say, you know, as bad as Iraq,
- 1:26:39Afghanistan, any of that other stuff was, we at least at the time had air supremacy.
- 1:26:45Brother, one of the things I can't fathom that's going on right now,
- 1:26:49can you imagine having to worry about drones? I will tell you that.
- 1:26:53Like, I didn't have to worry about that. I have no problem saying I had to worry
- 1:26:57about what was around the corner, what was behind the door, what would go boom.
- 1:27:00But I didn't have to worry about what was flying over or dropping you.
- 1:27:03Look, man, I can tell you there was one time I had to do a stint in Syria and
- 1:27:08we did not have air supremacy. Yeah, but did you have drones?
- 1:27:13Like that's a whole nother, even a whole nother. Oh, dude, we had a 500-pound
- 1:27:17bomb drop on our house and skipped off.
- 1:27:22And, you know, went into a field. But whenever you heard a plane coming over you.
- 1:27:27You duck a little, get a little. No, you didn't know who it was.
- 1:27:31Was it the Turks? Was it Iranian? Was it Russian?
- 1:27:34He had no fucking idea because of the way the whole, everything was working in Syria at that time.
- 1:27:40Like, and that's fucking scary, dude. Can you imagine, seriously,
- 1:27:44like, even with what they're doing with some of these drones of swarming and
- 1:27:47some of that. It's crazy.
- 1:27:49Like, having to think about that while you're also clearing houses and doing all the other.
- 1:27:55Nope, shit. I'm over here mind blown because I didn't even consider this.
- 1:27:59Like, just the thought of having drones, like, whether you're on a helicopter, the ground.
- 1:28:05Oh, dude. Imagine what they did to you on that thing, right?
- 1:28:06You just made him reconsider the age range.
- 1:28:08Where was your focus when you were in a helicopter it was always on the ground
- 1:28:14you're looking for flashes on the roofs on that whatever else going on it's different warfare now,
- 1:28:21air missiles not fucking drones coming from the sky good on these kids I wouldn't
- 1:28:27enjoy that part you know I have good faith in the navy and the airport.
- 1:28:36They're gonna make that a non non thing
- 1:28:39that you have to worry is it slapping cheeks faith i
- 1:28:42will tell
- 1:28:46you this though you talking about softening the battle space i mean they're
- 1:28:50doing a phenomenal job with that i mean the sheer amount of targets they've
- 1:28:54taken up absolutely amazing yep and and there's nothing better than our military
- 1:28:58even in in iraq like when you're going through the cities the towns wherever
- 1:29:03you're at going through it,
- 1:29:05just seeing the sheer destruction that like a Navy destroyer can do from the
- 1:29:10ocean a long distance away.
- 1:29:12They can, they can take out bunkers. They can do whatever it is.
- 1:29:15So that's why I say I got faith in that.
- 1:29:17Like I've, I've seen it firsthand what, what they do with those bunker busters
- 1:29:21and whether it's from a plane or a ship.
- 1:29:24So Anthony, like, like you said, your son's 13 now, right? Yeah.
- 1:29:29You know, my son's 10 and it doesn't matter. like to know like it doesn't matter
- 1:29:36how good their grades are it doesn't matter none of that,
- 1:29:41To know deep down, because you said when he came in here tonight,
- 1:29:44when we first spoke, you know he's going to go into military.
- 1:29:49I have the same feeling about my son. It doesn't matter.
- 1:29:54But it still matters because that's how you know it's in their character to strive for the best.
- 1:29:59Well, that's what I'm getting at. That's what I'm getting at.
- 1:30:02It's like the majority of the American public, they don't understand this drive.
- 1:30:09This drive like you know when anthony said
- 1:30:12that he was you know and on 9-11 he saw this shit and you know it happened for
- 1:30:17him it clicked and he went you know um you know it's it's it's basically in
- 1:30:23our genes like there there is multiple generations that go and they fight wars,
- 1:30:31for whoever the wars are for here.
- 1:30:35And that should mean something to people because it's going to happen.
- 1:30:41I made a joke a long time ago, multiple times, and I'm kind of ashamed of it.
- 1:30:48Like when I was in Kandahar, we'd go to this fucking...
- 1:30:55You know, palace or not palace, but compound. And I would use,
- 1:30:59I would make the joke of like, you know what?
- 1:31:01I'm going to write dad was here because I know my, I felt at the time,
- 1:31:06like my son's going to be here.
- 1:31:08And like to, to have that feeling, to know that, you know what? My son's going to serve.
- 1:31:13There's just no way he's not going to, there's no way he's not going to serve.
- 1:31:18It doesn't matter what education he has. It doesn't matter how good he is at athletics.
- 1:31:23There's just no way he's going to end up here.
- 1:31:28Like that burden of weight that a lot of the American, like 1% of the American
- 1:31:35populace has on us, like that's crazy.
- 1:31:40It's crazy. And then the 99% that doesn't honor that, it's just nuts to me.
- 1:31:45Guy, can I tell you this though, man? If your kid goes in. He's going to.
- 1:31:49If when, all right? He will.
- 1:31:53One more time. It will. So, I will tell you this, watching my kid,
- 1:31:59man, it's interesting because I deployed non-stop, never thought two seconds about it.
- 1:32:05I knew my family was taken care of. I knew what to do. I knew,
- 1:32:09like, not a worry in the world.
- 1:32:12My son deployed. I was a wreck. Yeah.
- 1:32:16Bro. You know, that's a question I was going to ask. Is that your son joining,
- 1:32:19does it terrify you or does it make you proud?
- 1:32:22Yeah, all of it. And here's the problem. So, one, my recollection from my military
- 1:32:28time is when I was senior enough that I could influence my own decision making.
- 1:32:33And I love our military, but not all leaders are created equal.
- 1:32:37So then I get in my mind. I'm like, what happens if he gets a bad leader?
- 1:32:40What happens of this? What happens of that?
- 1:32:42And the whole time I'm going, I can't protect him. I want to be there.
- 1:32:46Like, to Anthony's point, I was even starting to look at age waivers and things
- 1:32:50going, no, fuck that. I need to go over there.
- 1:32:52Not because he can't do it, but I need to be because I'm his dad.
- 1:32:56And so then he deploys. And, I mean, even in basic training,
- 1:33:00I was worried about, oh, what if, dude, and this is so silly.
- 1:33:03I was like, what if people don't like him? What if he's struggling today doing PT?
- 1:33:07And I'm like, this is so gay. This is stupid. What am I worried?
- 1:33:10I went through the millions of people go through the same thing.
- 1:33:13I did it. He's going to be fine. What do you think? But the parents went through, right?
- 1:33:17But I'm going to tell you this. I came back to your point of what,
- 1:33:20what, you know, military service did your mom. And,
- 1:33:25I went to Iraq a number of times, way too many.
- 1:33:29One of my trips, I redeployed. So I was in Korea, deployed to Iraq for a year, went back to Korea.
- 1:33:36My mom had to send my dad to Korea because he had PTSD watching Fox News of me being over in Iraq.
- 1:33:43Like literally, like it stressed him the hell out to where she actually sent
- 1:33:47him to Korea to decompress to be with me and to see I was alive.
- 1:33:52Like because he just whatever happened to your your mom my dad went through
- 1:33:57that because he he could not break away from fox news he could not he was living
- 1:34:01war every day and he wasn't there he should have just changed it to cnn it would have been fine yeah.
- 1:34:10Msnbc you know something something different well i mean look eric here's the deal dude,
- 1:34:16You can go back 2,000 years. Warriors are warriors. Warriors are bred in the warrior's families.
- 1:34:23You go back to the Romans, the Greeks, the Vikings.
- 1:34:29You have a warrior within those cultures.
- 1:34:35The son and sometimes even the daughter becomes a warrior in that culture.
- 1:34:41And the thing is, it's all about us accepting all that. You know,
- 1:34:46and I have a hard time accepting.
- 1:34:47I know, I know for a fact, like my son is fucking smart.
- 1:34:53He's like the 99 percentile in math, whatever, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:34:57But I know, I know, I know he is going to end up in a war.
- 1:35:03I know it in my bones. I feel it in my bones.
- 1:35:06I know it's going to happen because that's, that's just where he comes from.
- 1:35:10I think this guy just said he's going, his son is going to go Air Force.
- 1:35:13He's smart. that's that's hard you will never go airfield that's i'm gonna tell
- 1:35:19you never go i'm not there's nothing against the air force guy but that ain't
- 1:35:23gonna happen you the amount of stress that'll put on you not him on you is going
- 1:35:30to be interesting to hear about because i'm telling you what i went.
- 1:35:34I've lived that world, and I've led many people in that world.
- 1:35:38But the lack of control you have over your kid being, and having to sit the
- 1:35:43sideline listening to it here and here, the mentality of every parent.
- 1:35:48But you're also proud of him. Yeah, that's the mentality of every parent,
- 1:35:52right? Anything your kid does, military or not, if they join the National Guard,
- 1:35:57as you were making fun of earlier, or go Air Force, which if your son's smart, that's a good call.
- 1:36:03Everybody's going to worry about it like you going over and you going through basic training
- 1:36:06then being deployed it's you you can give a
- 1:36:09fuck what's going to happen as soon as it's your kid
- 1:36:12you're like wait so so roger that was cool with this hey and you've seen the
- 1:36:16size of my kid it's not like the boy can handle his own well so like here's
- 1:36:22here's the interesting thing about it is and i don't i don't think there is
- 1:36:27a statistic out there but i would love to see it if that happened.
- 1:36:30So they always say the 1% of us go and, you know, serve.
- 1:36:36I would like to know, okay, of that 1% who serves after that and that generation.
- 1:36:42And, and, and I would love to see that because I really feel like it's probably
- 1:36:47the 1% of that 1%. Like I, I think it is.
- 1:36:52And the number definitely gets smaller quick. Yeah. And, and I,
- 1:36:56I absolutely think that is.
- 1:36:58And the thing, the whole part about it, the whole reason why I bring that up
- 1:37:03is, you know what, like, you know, with Anthony and you, Eric and Roger,
- 1:37:09like you serve in a different way and your family serves in a different way.
- 1:37:15We need to be aware of that. And like, we need to honor that.
- 1:37:18Like when I look at my son, no shit. He's 10.
- 1:37:23When I look at him, because I, I have such a strong feeling that I know he's going to go and serve.
- 1:37:31You know, I look at him in a different way with that. You know,
- 1:37:34I look at him and I'm just like, man, you know, you're, you're either going
- 1:37:39to die or not going to die, but I know you're going to serve.
- 1:37:41And I, I see that in a different light.
- 1:37:45And like, you know, what is the whole statistic behind it?
- 1:37:50I don't know if we'll ever know that. I really don't. Yeah, it's hard to quantify
- 1:37:54in any way, shape, or form.
- 1:37:55I would also say that whatever that magical statistic is,
- 1:38:01it's going to be a lot higher post the Vietnam era to where we are now as veterans
- 1:38:07solely because Americans nowadays,
- 1:38:11they're way more supportive of veterans.
- 1:38:14So I think the number would be higher because it's now. 100%. Yeah, that's very true.
- 1:38:18Versus Vietnam, yeah. What did we start with? Like, we have a hero here.
- 1:38:22That didn't happen back in the 70s. It was frowned upon.
- 1:38:25So the percent of siblings joining, I would say.
- 1:38:28100%. You know what's funny? The last guest we had on recently,
- 1:38:31he was a Vietnam vet. Big Mac.
- 1:38:34Eric's comment to him not only was thank you for your service, but welcome home.
- 1:38:38Because of the non-welcoming they got. It's vastly different today for anybody
- 1:38:42that's in the military versus what happened back then. And I think that is very valuable. That's huge.
- 1:38:46The support is always there. I remember my flight home on leave very vividly,
- 1:38:52like coming home on leave from Iraq was one free drinks, like outstanding.
- 1:38:57Like I was completely drunk getting off the plane.
- 1:39:00And I didn't have to pay for none of it. And the applause that you got walking
- 1:39:04through, like coming off a flight, not just like a handful of people.
- 1:39:08You're talking about a whole flight of soldiers coming off.
- 1:39:11Like the applause, the standing ovation. Like it's.
- 1:39:14Was that in Newfoundland or whatever?
- 1:39:18No, seriously. No, that was actually, I want to say, I want to say it was Atlanta
- 1:39:23airport, but it could have been.
- 1:39:25It could have been. So there's an airport that you, we had to,
- 1:39:29to cross through, I think it was Newfoundland and it was different depending
- 1:39:34on who you came back with.
- 1:39:36Well, I mean, like, like going across the Atlanta for us, like from the Iraq
- 1:39:42war or Afghanistan war, whatever.
- 1:39:45And there was always, always support there. And I think it might've been Newfoundland.
- 1:39:52I think it might've been Newfoundland. and you
- 1:39:55know after that we go to bwi dulles there's nothing but
- 1:39:59like in newfoundland i'm pretty sure that's where it was
- 1:40:02where we we came across the atlantic we landed and
- 1:40:06it was always just like there were 80 year old people vietnam vets there were
- 1:40:13their wives and everybody was just like thank thank you you know and hugging
- 1:40:18us well let me tell you the the vietnam experience i head, honestly, coming back from Iraq.
- 1:40:24So I told you when I deployed from Korea to Iraq for a year,
- 1:40:28that was the first deployment that was, you're going from one hardship tour
- 1:40:33to another and then back and then they reset your clock.
- 1:40:36Well, what was going on in Korea at the time, they were anti-war.
- 1:40:39So when I flew back to Korea, they were spitting on us, throwing shit at us
- 1:40:43and doing all kinds of things.
- 1:40:44You talking about getting in your head, that was very reminiscent.
- 1:40:47So when Mac was talking, that was going through my head because they wanted
- 1:40:51us off the peninsula and were treating us like shit coming back from Iraq.
- 1:40:55I thought spitting on you was a sign of good faith over there.
- 1:40:59That's terrible, Derek. I made light of it because it's gotten really serious
- 1:41:03in the podcast recently.
- 1:41:04But that's a shitty situation to go into, especially in Europe.
- 1:41:10But actually, so the compelling thing for me was I grew up with Vietnam stuff, right?
- 1:41:14Like I was just infatuated watching anything Vietnam because at my age,
- 1:41:19that was the war to learn from, see.
- 1:41:22And I just, I loved anything dealing with uniform service, whether it was law
- 1:41:25enforcement, fire, and so loved it.
- 1:41:29So the neat thing about it was I actually took it as a positive because it was
- 1:41:33interesting for me. I got to feel a little bit of what they felt like when not
- 1:41:38meaning to not trying to make more of it than it was, you know,
- 1:41:41cause it's not like coming to your home.
- 1:41:43Fortunately, you weren't coming to your home country. I was about to say,
- 1:41:45but it was still kind of like, well, this fucking sucks.
- 1:41:50Well, fuck you too. I'll spit back bitches.
- 1:41:53But Hey, let's, let's talk about a baller homecoming real quick.
- 1:41:57How, how, how about, how about the pilot man that, that got rescued in Iran, bro.
- 1:42:02So it made me think of you a little bit. little bit being a crew chief, right?
- 1:42:06Like, so I actually heard a really interesting thing, guy. I'm real curious
- 1:42:09what you think about this. So I heard this from a POW.
- 1:42:14He heard the story and he got pissed and thrilled at the same time.
- 1:42:18He said it was a weird thing of emotions. I was sitting there going, what?
- 1:42:21And come to find out what he said was super excited that that dude didn't have
- 1:42:26to go through the capture of the POW piece and that, but mad because he started thinking about,
- 1:42:32so if the will of the president is by any means necessary, we're going to do this. It can happen.
- 1:42:39What about me? And I was like, holy shit. I knew you were going with that.
- 1:42:43And I just went through my head like, that fucking sucks. That's a terrible feeling.
- 1:42:47And he felt guilty because he was like, on one hand, I'm just thrilled for this
- 1:42:51guy. And I want to be the other hand.
- 1:42:53Fuck that. What about me? Yeah. And so if the different administration or if
- 1:42:58I was the focus, I wouldn't have been through that.
- 1:43:01I was like, holy hell. I'm going to tell you, man.
- 1:43:05I like Eric and Roger. I've told you guys both. I don't like getting political
- 1:43:10on shit, but I'm going to get political now.
- 1:43:12Oh, I wasn't trying to go there. I was just talking generalities.
- 1:43:16But look, look, you asked.
- 1:43:19Did I? I made a statement. I made a statement. You asked his thoughts.
- 1:43:22This is on you, Eric. This is all I did. I said, guy in the sky.
- 1:43:26No, you said, I'm interested to hear what you said. What you think,
- 1:43:30guy. Here we go. You're right.
- 1:43:32I will tell you that the last, administration, I would not have trusted anything.
- 1:43:40Not in a million years if I had gotten captured or I shot down or anything on the ground.
- 1:43:48There's just no fucking way because we, I mean, the proof's in the pudding on that.
- 1:43:53We left our allies that we had worked with for years.
- 1:43:59You know, the, the fact that we went there and we did this, we lost three aircraft,
- 1:44:05four aircraft to get our pilot says a lot, like hundreds of millions of dollars
- 1:44:12down the drain to get our people back. For the right cause.
- 1:44:16That's for the right cause. Like, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:44:20Like, that, like that gives like, personally, that gives me.
- 1:44:25If I was one of those people, I would be thinking, okay.
- 1:44:29Guy, what does this do? These motherfuckers have my back. What does it do for the warrior mentality?
- 1:44:34It's straight morale. When you know you got a president that will go,
- 1:44:37by any means necessary, pull your ass out.
- 1:44:39You will go in fighting harder than you ever would have. It's 100%.
- 1:44:44Makes you much stronger.
- 1:44:46Because then you don't care. I'll go into anything because I know this guy's got me.
- 1:44:50Yep. Like, like anybody can say anything about whatever, however many hundred
- 1:44:55millions of dollars, whatever. Like, dude, fuck off.
- 1:45:00Like the human capital was worth the fucking equipment capital like tenfold.
- 1:45:08And, you know, I don't feel confident that the last administration would have done that.
- 1:45:14I just don't think that would have happened. I'm just jealous because I know
- 1:45:19it sounds horrible and stupid, but I alluded to it earlier.
- 1:45:22Just to be able to get boots on the ground in the country that basically,
- 1:45:26even I fought in proxies, and to be able to go there, and just,
- 1:45:32to me, it's baller as hell.
- 1:45:34They got to go there, pull this dude out, and we just owned their asses for a little while.
- 1:45:39We owned them. I hope they planted flags and left them, U.S.
- 1:45:43Flags. now look dude we didn't only
- 1:45:46own them like you know it was well beyond that like we went into their country
- 1:45:53we smacked their cheeks slapping cheeks slapping cheeks buddy rocket slapping
- 1:46:03the cheeks no wait wait we're gonna do this probably.
- 1:46:16All right, guy, you've got to get approval to use that as the intro of the song
- 1:46:19for Eric as he's announcing the show. Slap and cheeks.
- 1:46:22But Anthony, how polar would that be?
- 1:46:25Be a crew chief on a helicopter going into fucking Iran. Seriously.
- 1:46:28Oh, man, the adrenaline pump there. That would have been awesome,
- 1:46:31seriously. Outstanding.
- 1:46:33And outstanding in a way where I don't care what drug you do or what job you do.
- 1:46:39There is nothing that is going to replace that feeling for the Black Hawk going in there.
- 1:46:45Or the fighter whatever it is or if you're in your tricycle so just going in
- 1:46:49there there's nothing that's going to replace that no i get it that vibe that
- 1:46:53you got as you're doing that mentality biggest natural high you'll ever have
- 1:46:57absolutely look anthony i gotta i have to say this because,
- 1:47:02like we used to use you know whenever we went and did any target or whatever
- 1:47:08sometimes we would use whatever the reservist units,
- 1:47:13the reservist units that was with us, we would go.
- 1:47:17And, you know, most of the times they performed well, but the 160th, soar.
- 1:47:25Bro, bro. I remember one specific time that they came in, we infilled,
- 1:47:34we exfilled, and then they had to fly all the way back to Bagram. This is in Afghanistan.
- 1:47:41And, you know, we exfilled. They dropped us off. We were like, oh, good mission.
- 1:47:46We didn't know that they were flying through these fucking valleys,
- 1:47:52and they got shot up and hit the gunner in the neck.
- 1:47:58And nobody knew about that. Nobody knew about that.
- 1:48:02I mean, we heard about it the next day, but the news doesn't hear about that,
- 1:48:06of these fucking crews that go out and just...
- 1:48:13They're, it doesn't matter. It's the job. Yeah.
- 1:48:16And they fly through this shit and they fucking go, man.
- 1:48:21It doesn't matter if they get hit. They just go. The guy lived.
- 1:48:25The guy lived. But he got shot in the fucking neck, dude.
- 1:48:29And like people don't understand that when they hear air crew.
- 1:48:34Exactly. They don't understand that with Blackhawk air crew,
- 1:48:37Chinook air crew. Especially Chinook because they fly so slow.
- 1:48:42You know what I mean? not this not the 160 well no
- 1:48:45i'm talking i will tell you those motherfuckers will go
- 1:48:48i'll tell you so flying a lot on helicopters
- 1:48:51that is i i always call it and i still do the magic school bus the chanel like
- 1:48:56that's literally what it makes me think of they are the fastest helicopters
- 1:48:59i got out there like them things do not play dude they're fucking they will
- 1:49:03leave the apache like i i can't even tell you how many times we would have to
- 1:49:07slow down to wait for our apaches to catch up to us.
- 1:49:11And that's when you pass them more than a mile. But the Chinook, it rolls.
- 1:49:16The Black Hawk is a little bit sluggish. I will say this.
- 1:49:21The Chinooks, even with armor, even with fucking armor in the floor,
- 1:49:27they fucking go, man. Yeah, they go.
- 1:49:29I will say this. I got the opportunity to go back to Iraq as a civilian working in the government.
- 1:49:33And they picked me up in an Osprey and I was legitimately pissed.
- 1:49:37I was like... And here's why, don't get me wrong.
- 1:49:41They've come a long way, but in those days, they were going down like flies, literally.
- 1:49:46And I was legitimately pissed going, what did I do to serve them?
- 1:49:50It was cool as hell, no problems. But at the end of the day,
- 1:49:53I was mad. I was like, what the hell?
- 1:49:55Well, I mean, my whole point in saying that to Anthony is like air crews and
- 1:50:02anybody that man's air shit,
- 1:50:05Y'all don't get enough credit. And it, like, it, like, you just don't.
- 1:50:11Like, nobody, the American public, nobody knew about this dude after he dropped
- 1:50:18us off after a successful mission, hitting a legitimate Al-Qaeda target.
- 1:50:24Going home to Bagram gets shot in the neck. Nobody hears about that. Yeah, no.
- 1:50:29And you know what? Like, y'all are heroes.
- 1:50:33Y'all are fucking heroes. We were all being mad at them for wearing Nomex pajamas.
- 1:50:39By the rest of us. Fucking warriors, man. You know, I would push that same statement
- 1:50:45to any gunner on any military vehicle.
- 1:50:49Because if you ever hear a story, it's the Humvee got blown up.
- 1:50:54It's not we went through three gunners going down the street
- 1:50:56yeah so it's it's it's not just an air crew
- 1:51:00yeah um it would be any because when you
- 1:51:02get behind that machine gun no matter what
- 1:51:05it's on you're an automatic target i don't care what
- 1:51:08war you're usually more exposed than the average you're
- 1:51:11more exposed you are the light at night that's where
- 1:51:13all bullets are going yeah the any any machine gun
- 1:51:16get everybody oh i want to shoot a machine gun and for
- 1:51:19me it was the same way it's like oh they're gonna let me shoot a fucking gun off helicopter
- 1:51:22outstanding like i was so excited about
- 1:51:25it but then at the same time when it
- 1:51:28comes down to it you are the target the
- 1:51:31helicopter moving is your action like
- 1:51:34the enemy's actual target but the what they're aiming
- 1:51:37at is the light from from the muzzle flash whatever it
- 1:51:40is and it it's it's pretty bright and it doesn't matter
- 1:51:43whether like i said if you're on a 50 cal on top
- 1:51:46of humvee lmtv doesn't matter it has
- 1:51:49no the machine gun role has you know
- 1:51:52no no bias on vehicle itself well i i mean specifically air crew gunners and
- 1:52:00air crew they don't get enough shout outs man absolutely and like the amount
- 1:52:06of times they pulled my ass out and, you know, anybody I was with,
- 1:52:11like, I remember infilling and then, you know, the.
- 1:52:16Any motorcycle that was coming on target while we're infilling is a target.
- 1:52:21And these motherfuckers just lighten them up because they were coming to kill us. Yeah.
- 1:52:27You know, and they protected us. And like, nobody gives enough credit.
- 1:52:32Like there's so many big warriors that no one even hears about, man.
- 1:52:39You always hear about, which you should,
- 1:52:42you always hear about these, these warriors on the
- 1:52:44ground whether they're seals or sf or marsoc
- 1:52:48or recon or whatever doesn't matter who who
- 1:52:51they're from but you never hear about the warriors in the air
- 1:52:54you never fucking hear about it and like
- 1:52:58those warriors kept us infill safe
- 1:53:01and exfil safe and you know
- 1:53:04it was the most important part of the battle both outstanding
- 1:53:09i like it it's been interesting we go from little
- 1:53:12people wrestling to very serious conversation about uh gunners and and and how
- 1:53:17they can take it so anthony let's finish off with something man what's the next
- 1:53:21chapter what's what success look like what are we moving into we'll see what
- 1:53:25the recruiter says went after hey after your wife dimes you out and you don't get a sign up.
- 1:53:32For for me and this this might make you feel really good we're we're looking
- 1:53:38into georgia I absolutely am.
- 1:53:44Not just the hunt. You went on the CJ3 hunt. I did. And it literally.
- 1:53:49Slaying deer. Why Georgia? Why Georgia? Because have you ever,
- 1:53:53like, when you go to Georgia, and we just did this again, we just drove through
- 1:53:56Georgia to get to Pensacola.
- 1:53:59In your RV. In my RV with all children. And everybody should be cursing at us everywhere we go.
- 1:54:04Because I got some spoiled kids, for sure.
- 1:54:08Like, they're just, you know, they're well taken care of and they act like it.
- 1:54:12But everywhere we went people are so nice and
- 1:54:15like my conversation with my wife was i
- 1:54:19wish that people in different areas
- 1:54:21could act like people from georgia like the
- 1:54:24most polite people and it's not because they're they're you
- 1:54:28know got a lot of money it's it's the people that you're working
- 1:54:31you're interacting can i make a correction yeah there's georgia
- 1:54:34then there's atlanta yeah we're not counting it
- 1:54:37we're talking about outside of there but it it's true atlanta was fuck atlanta
- 1:54:42we we i had a good time in a while we went to a braves game which was outstanding
- 1:54:46wait wait i have a i have a sound effect for atlanta here it comes ready oh
- 1:54:51wait wait wait i gotta find it first no no wait no no Oh.
- 1:54:59That is Atlanta because there are flags. Yeah.
- 1:55:03There it is. There we go. I will say this.
- 1:55:08The other cool thing, Anthony talked about going through our mental health and
- 1:55:10wellness facility in Iowa, which was cool as hell that he went.
- 1:55:13But then kind of on the fun side, right, which is funny because it kind of leads
- 1:55:18in. A lot of people think, oh, it's just play.
- 1:55:20You're going out to do this outdoor activity, whatever.
- 1:55:23And for us, every year we do a whitetail deer hunt down in Georgia.
- 1:55:26And Anthony, after going through Iowa, went through that.
- 1:55:30There's a lot of therapy in it
- 1:55:31too, because not Anthony, because I know he shoots and does other things.
- 1:55:35But for some of these wounded heroes, it's the first time they've ever touched
- 1:55:38a gun since being over there. It's a pretty emotional experience and all that.
- 1:55:42And so, you know, and then to take a life of something living,
- 1:55:45we've had some veterans really struggle with that.
- 1:55:48And it's been a whole thing, phenomenal thing.
- 1:55:51Anthony went down there, baller, and slayed a couple deer.
- 1:55:54I was going to ask a question. Did you take him down and mow it like you do
- 1:55:58on the range in order to become a gunner?
- 1:55:59Yeah he cheated took a lot of extra ammo he is a
- 1:56:03pest killer i was so disappointed in
- 1:56:06myself because i shot two deer
- 1:56:09and i only shot two rounds like that
- 1:56:13was so disappointing anthony he's arched
- 1:56:16it off in the air just because he's like god damn it so so
- 1:56:19what you're not understanding is we don't
- 1:56:21have to have tags and stuff to hunt and
- 1:56:24so you go down there and and so i
- 1:56:27can tell you what the first day is almost always like so what is
- 1:56:30it three days out there or two days three days right so first
- 1:56:33day hardly nobody comes back with deer because everybody's
- 1:56:36just waiting on that perfect one because because here's the other side a lot
- 1:56:39of them they get if they hit a real good one they'll bring they'll get the head
- 1:56:43mounted and all that stuff so hardly no deer come in the first day and it's
- 1:56:47crazy so there's they're out sitting in the stands early in the morning then
- 1:56:50they go back out at night we only get a few coming in we make fun of them around the fire and go,
- 1:56:55oh, yeah, big warrior afraid to fucking pull the trigger and whatever,
- 1:56:58and the drinks start flowing, cigars going, and then the next day,
- 1:57:02guns start lighting up a little bit and it starts coming.
- 1:57:05But nothing like that last evening. Oh, yeah. When they know.
- 1:57:10Shit, I got to get something. Dude, you'll see people come back with 5D or that night, whatever.
- 1:57:14Like, they're just slaying them. They don't care what it is.
- 1:57:17If it's got four legs and a tail, they're a lot like a soldier in a strip club.
- 1:57:22They're going after it. Hey, Eric, I'm going to dovetail on this with you.
- 1:57:29Anthony. Yeah. When you went down to do this with the CJ3 Foundation,
- 1:57:36what was the most important
- 1:57:40thing you walked away with as a
- 1:57:43veteran and like how did that happen it's
- 1:57:46very similar to walking into this room when you just being around veterans is
- 1:57:51a whole whole different it's a whole different ballgame especially when you're
- 1:57:56not surrounded by like a bunch of veterans and a bunch of civilians when you're
- 1:58:00surrounded by predominantly veterans Roger's like, what the,
- 1:58:03damn it. It's okay. Damn it.
- 1:58:06You're an honorary veteran, dude. Hey, keep in mind, my board member,
- 1:58:12Junior Coker, that puts the hunt on, never served a day in his life,
- 1:58:16but he's more patriotic than most veterans are, right? Absolutely.
- 1:58:20I mean, so I hear what you're saying, but yeah, the guy that puts on the hunt
- 1:58:24is not even. Sorry, I just had to make my comment.
- 1:58:28These civilians that suck out there. because when people walk like you talk
- 1:58:33like you it's a familiar area I have to Anthony I gotta make a comment real quick dude.
- 1:58:41Then like, I'm pretty sure we're going to make this comment every fucking podcast
- 1:58:47we have, but Roger, you don't act like you're not a veteran.
- 1:58:52No, no, no. I'm being serious. Like just cause I'm prettier than Eric.
- 1:58:57No, look, man, it's a mentality, dude. It's a like, look, man.
- 1:59:03And I'm pretty sure this is what Anthony's saying is
- 1:59:05you walk into a room and you feel a brotherhood and
- 1:59:09like you know you're you immediately feel
- 1:59:13like a part of the brotherhood oh i appreciate that but i was
- 1:59:16just i was just giving him shit because he said civilians i was like son of a bitch here
- 1:59:18we go here i'll sub the word civilian for midgets or everybody's
- 1:59:22but guy that works but anthony
- 1:59:25am i right about that yeah you feel a brotherhood right
- 1:59:28it's not it's the brotherhood absolutely but
- 1:59:31it's more of okay like when i got there it was like i am on a property i'm safe
- 1:59:37I'm not the only one out here working like to keep everybody alive so the relaxation
- 1:59:42in it for me to just like I I told junior bro you're not in charge anything
- 1:59:47either you're not the boss yeah you're not you don't your family you're not
- 1:59:50doing your family thing there.
- 1:59:53You're just, you're responsible for you and your brother. Absolutely. That's it.
- 1:59:56And I told Junior the first night that I got there to the cabin,
- 1:59:59he was like, you sleep all right?
- 2:00:01I said, dude, that's the best sleep I've gotten since I ETS.
- 2:00:04Was it your first year down there? Yeah, it was.
- 2:00:06Yep. Did you have like hookers and blow?
- 2:00:09No. No, I'm joking. Joking, joking. Not all the way down.
- 2:00:13Well, I mean, Eric keeps telling when we go down, we're going hogging.
- 2:00:16I don't know what that means. Not what it meant to us in the military,
- 2:00:20Eric. No, I would love to do some hogging.
- 2:00:24Give me a 240 out there. There'll be no hogs left in Georgia.
- 2:00:29So, no, it's cool because the other side is not that we're pushing drinking,
- 2:00:35but a lot like in here, Guy, right? We know veterans, whatever.
- 2:00:38And so, you know, we bring out cigars. We bring out drinks.
- 2:00:41A lot of it's sitting around the fire pit and just doing our thing and doing
- 2:00:46this, telling our stories, not talking at all, whatever you're comfortable with. And so it's just.
- 2:00:54Just ingratiating yourself in the brotherhood man and and
- 2:00:57i think a lot of us miss that and and i think
- 2:01:01anthony it deals with some of the same things i do bro
- 2:01:04this is a busy place right the hustle and bustle
- 2:01:07of dc area bro you don't realize
- 2:01:10how much this place wears on you until you go and come
- 2:01:13back and you're like why the fuck do i keep that's why him and i moved
- 2:01:16to a small town in the country man but you still feel it
- 2:01:19bro it's still busy out there it's still busy it's
- 2:01:22not real country country out there you just
- 2:01:25got back from your trip i just got back from my trip and i'm not gonna lie
- 2:01:28as soon as i hit quantico coming back i was like fuck yeah why do i keep doing
- 2:01:31this exactly you know i correct me if i'm wrong like all three of you um it's
- 2:01:37it's just being around like-minded people yeah you know like it's it's like-minded
- 2:01:43people that share the same values.
- 2:01:46That, you know,
- 2:01:48hold a high regard to life and the people that have gave their life.
- 2:01:54Like, that's the thing, dude. And unbelievably, in Northern Virginia,
- 2:02:01there's some great people.
- 2:02:02There's some great people that do that. Yeah.
- 2:02:05But there's also a large majority that doesn't do that.
- 2:02:09It's very true. Yeah. And it's nice finding a good group of people.
- 2:02:15Like, I'm glad I met Eric and Roger, like, 100%. You know, because they introduced
- 2:02:23me to people like you, Anthony. You know?
- 2:02:26Like, it's like-minded people. Like, man, I didn't know this person was out there.
- 2:02:30And, you know, when you live right down the fucking road. And that's pretty
- 2:02:34cool. Yeah, that's pretty cool, man.
- 2:02:37So, hey, let's do this. It's getting late. I appreciate you coming in,
- 2:02:41and I appreciate your time, Anthony.
- 2:02:43Dude, I get to hang out with you on the regular, so thank you for all you do.
- 2:02:47Let's end this on a high note.
- 2:02:49Give us a way people get a hold of you. One more thing before you do that.
- 2:02:53Where's your family from? My family? Yep. They're from Brooklyn.
- 2:02:57Damn it. I was going to give him shit. I've been reading this thing all night. Brooklyn, New York.
- 2:03:01It says, let's go Yankees. And I'm like, that is some bullshit.
- 2:03:05New York, so before you ended, I had to say something about that.
- 2:03:08Go ahead and delete this. Oh, my God.
- 2:03:11I saw it right now. Does he mean like Yankees, like Werther's?
- 2:03:16That came from the baseball talk.
- 2:03:20Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack that. But I want to get that in.
- 2:03:24Hey, hold on. Me and Roger just had the same conversation watching the game the other night.
- 2:03:29Nationals and St. Louis, we're both in rebuilding years. And so it actually worked.
- 2:03:33It was fun for us to go watch because they're both in it because it sucks
- 2:03:36when one's not and the other one is but it wasn't
- 2:03:39great i i would even if you're not a yankee fan one
- 2:03:42of one of the one of the best things that you can ever do in your life is go
- 2:03:47watch a baseball game at yankee stadium oh yeah i mean it is history all that
- 2:03:53i got no problem with that not even history i love to go watch it everywhere
- 2:03:56it's the mentality yeah like it is there is no.
- 2:04:00There is no clean trash talking. Like I, my first. It's diehard baseball, man.
- 2:04:05It's absolute. And my first experience with, at a Yankee game was I was in middle
- 2:04:09school and I had been to hundreds of Orioles games.
- 2:04:13My dad is a big baseball fan, so he don't, he don't really care.
- 2:04:16He likes the Yankees. I'll go watch any baseball. Yep.
- 2:04:18The first time I go to the Yankee game, the ump made a bad call around the sixth inning.
- 2:04:23They lost their mind. For the next four innings, all you heard was bullshit.
- 2:04:28Bull. And, and it's not one or two people.
- 2:04:30It would be like, it's the whole stadium, and you could hear it from blocks
- 2:04:34away. They're angry. They're relentless. They're just angry people.
- 2:04:37And it's an experience. So, guy, I'm going to ask that you edit out the Yankee
