- 0:00Speaker 1: Mark Simone on 710WOR. Well, hey, it's Columbus Day, the
- 0:07Speaker 1: parade beginning underway. Turned out it's going to be a
- 0:09Speaker 1: nice day for the parade. Fifth Avenue will be a
- 0:12Speaker 1: beautiful parade, even better that Mom Donnie's not going to
- 0:15Speaker 1: be there. This will be a happier parade. These left-wingers,
- 0:22Speaker 1: you know, they hate Columbus. They want to tear down
- 0:24Speaker 1: the statues of Christopher Columbus. I don't know why they
- 0:27Speaker 1: would hate Columbus so much. He was He was the
- 0:30Speaker 1: first illegal migrant in the United States. He was here illegally,
- 0:33Speaker 1: so they should love the guy, you would think. Kimberly Guilfoyle. Well,
- 0:42Speaker 1: this is not a good situation. Kimberly Guilfoyle, formerly engaged
- 0:45Speaker 1: to Donald Trump Jr., formerly one of the co-hosts of
- 0:50Speaker 1: The Five on Fox News. Kimberly Guilfoyle, a friend of ours.
- 0:55Speaker 1: She's been on this show a lot and through the years.
- 1:01Speaker 1: It doesn't look good, these accusations. In fact, President Trump
- 1:06Speaker 1: and Secretary of State Rubio, her two bosses, are meeting
- 1:10Speaker 1: and discussing whether or not to get rid of her.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Reports are she may soon be fired. They don't like
- 1:18Speaker 1: her answers. Now remember, there have been earlier accusations of
- 1:23Speaker 1: things going on in Greece. It's very unusual for an
- 1:26Speaker 1: ambassador to get fired. But the earlier allegations were that
- 1:33Speaker 1: while in Greece as ambassador, she was helping out a
- 1:36Speaker 1: construction company. Their lobbyist was accompanying her to events. You know,
- 1:43Speaker 1: this happens whenever politicians and contractors get together. You know
- 1:49Speaker 1: what happens. Money changes hands. Things change. Well, And any
- 1:54Speaker 1: time a politician is around a lobbyist, a lobbyist wins
- 1:58Speaker 1: over politicians by giving you whatever the hell you want, money, women, whatever.
- 2:03Speaker 1: That's how they operate. So this doesn't look good, these
- 2:05Speaker 1: earlier allegations. So the latest is that she ran up
- 2:11Speaker 1: a lot of credit card debt, apparently owed $ 100, 000 on
- 2:14Speaker 1: her American Express bill. And there's a big Republican donor
- 2:19Speaker 1: who she was very friendly with. And she asked the
- 2:23Speaker 1: guy to pay off her American Express bill. He balked
- 2:26Speaker 1: at this. And the accusation is that she said to him,
- 2:31Speaker 1: you know, you could just wire the money to American Express.
- 2:34Speaker 1: There doesn't have to be any link between you and me,
- 2:37Speaker 1: no paper trail. Just wire the money directly to American Express.
- 2:42Speaker 1: And he didn't want to do that. Now, at one
- 2:44Speaker 1: point he said, if I do that, my wife will
- 2:46Speaker 1: leave me. Now, what does that mean? That the wife
- 2:50Speaker 1: suspects an affair? Or that the wife doesn't want him
- 2:53Speaker 1: wasting money paying her American Express bill. Well, who knows? Now,
- 2:57Speaker 1: the problem is, if you ask Kimberly Guilfoyle about this allegation,
- 3:04Speaker 1: she says, and this has happened with a few people,
- 3:08Speaker 1: she said, the money was never sent to American Express.
- 3:11Speaker 1: The money was never paid. Okay. But she doesn't ever say,
- 3:16Speaker 1: I never asked him for it. The problem would be
- 3:19Speaker 1: if she asked for it. if she tried to shake
- 3:21Speaker 1: down the donor. If that's true, that's the problem. So
- 3:24Speaker 1: in these denials, she just denies that the money was
- 3:27Speaker 1: ever sent. She doesn't deny asking for it. So we
- 3:32Speaker 1: don't really know what happened, but she doesn't deny it
- 3:34Speaker 1: in her answers. That's the problem. The donor's a little
- 3:37Speaker 1: slightly wacky, but he would have no reason to come
- 3:42Speaker 1: forward and make all these crazy statements. So apparently in
- 3:45Speaker 1: the White House, Rubio and President Trump extremely bothered by this,
- 3:51Speaker 1: extremely upset by it, and they are weighing her removal
- 3:55Speaker 1: right now. So that would be very, very unusual to
- 3:59Speaker 1: remove an ambassador like that. But it's not the first time.
- 4:03Speaker 1: They're getting these other allegations of her doing favors for
- 4:07Speaker 1: local companies and lobbyists and getting tangled up with that.
- 4:11Speaker 1: You know, normally you have to have a lot of
- 4:13Speaker 1: money to be the ambassador because you have to spend
- 4:16Speaker 1: all your own money. when you're the ambassador to a
- 4:19Speaker 1: big country, you go over there, you generally have to
- 4:22Speaker 1: spend a fortune fixing up the embassy. You got to
- 4:25Speaker 1: buy your own furniture, your own this, your own that,
- 4:28Speaker 1: and you fix up the embassy. Then main job of
- 4:31Speaker 1: an ambassador is throw these big parties and everything. Well,
- 4:33Speaker 1: you got to pay for them yourself. I know people
- 4:35Speaker 1: have been offered ambassadorships and turn it down. They don't
- 4:39Speaker 1: want to spend two, 3 million in another country being ambassadors.
- 4:42Speaker 1: A lot of guys don't mind. It's a big, a
- 4:45Speaker 1: big thrill for them. So, um, She apparently obviously doesn't
- 4:50Speaker 1: have a lot of money to throw around, but you
- 4:53Speaker 1: could also, if you did it the other way, you
- 4:55Speaker 1: could make a lot of money as ambassador. So we'll
- 4:58Speaker 1: see if she's removed. It could happen. If it's going
- 5:02Speaker 1: to happen, it could happen pretty soon. So these DSA idiots,
- 5:09Speaker 1: the democratic socialists, they're demanding all kinds of things. Now
- 5:13Speaker 1: they're demanding that Letitia James be fired. Not Letitia James,
- 5:18Speaker 1: excuse me. uh, Jessica Tisch, Jessica Tisch. They're demanding police commissioner,
- 5:23Speaker 1: Jessica Tisch be fired. They're not going to succeed with that, but, uh,
- 5:29Speaker 1: they're demanding it. Uh, why? Well, cause apparently she didn't
- 5:33Speaker 1: stop ice. I don't know what she could do to,
- 5:35Speaker 1: there's nothing you can do to stop them. Federal law
- 5:38Speaker 1: supersedes local law. If ice comes in, you can't stop them.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Federal law enforcement has authority over local law enforcement. So, uh,
- 5:48Speaker 1: It could be other things. It could be just the
- 5:50Speaker 1: general anti-Semitism of the democratic socialists. They don't want a
- 5:54Speaker 1: Jewish police commissioner. One of them, you know, this one
- 5:59Speaker 1: they all love, Avila Chevalier, left-wing kook. She's on with
- 6:05Speaker 1: Hassan Piker, another left-wing kook. And somebody points out to
- 6:09Speaker 1: her that this illegal that I shot is a very
- 6:15Speaker 1: bad guy. He's a career criminal. He's got all kinds
- 6:19Speaker 1: of terrible things on his rap sheet, robbery, all sorts
- 6:23Speaker 1: of stuff. And his neighbors now saying he was a maniac.
- 6:28Speaker 1: He would run around menacing everybody, often carrying a machete.
- 6:32Speaker 1: This is a really bad guy that they were trying
- 6:35Speaker 1: to get out of the country. So they brought all
- 6:39Speaker 1: this up to this Chevalier, this crazy democratic socialist. And
- 6:43Speaker 1: she's yelling, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter about his
- 6:46Speaker 1: criminal record. Doesn't matter to her. She said, I'm still
- 6:51Speaker 1: as angry as can be. Doesn't matter if he's a
- 6:53Speaker 1: gang member. So this is the way they think. There's
- 6:57Speaker 1: nothing you can do about this. Doesn't matter that he's
- 6:58Speaker 1: got a rap sheet. He's a criminal. Doesn't matter that
- 7:02Speaker 1: he's a gang member. Over and over again, she said
- 7:04Speaker 1: to Piker, to me, it doesn't matter. He needs to
- 7:07Speaker 1: be released. And that was the problem with Mamdani calling
- 7:11Speaker 1: Trump that night. He was on the phone with Homeland
- 7:15Speaker 1: Security officials. for two hours. He was on the phone
- 7:18Speaker 1: with Trump for two minutes, but he demanded they release
- 7:20Speaker 1: the guy. And apparently at some point Trump said, you
- 7:25Speaker 1: know what, we'll, we'll, okay, we'll release him and you
- 7:28Speaker 1: keep him in NYPD custody. And Mamdani said, that's not
- 7:31Speaker 1: what I mean. I want him released, released, like back
- 7:35Speaker 1: out on the streets. So of course, President Trump absolutely
- 7:39Speaker 1: would not do that. Absolutely not. Hey, you know, remember
- 7:44Speaker 1: Happy Days? Happy Days, Richie Cunningham, that was, what's his,
- 7:50Speaker 1: Ron Howard, who went on to become a huge director.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Fonzie was, what's Fonzie's name? I'm blanking out. Henry Winkler.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Henry Winkler, of course, who went on to, he's a very,
- 8:02Speaker 1: very good actor. He's done a lot of other acting,
- 8:04Speaker 1: and he wrote a very good book in the last
- 8:07Speaker 1: few years. And then there was Anson Williams. Who was he?
- 8:12Speaker 1: He wasn't Pazzi. He was the other guy. You know
- 8:14Speaker 1: Anson Williams. He was a big part of Happy Days.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Did very well there. And so now he's talking publicly
- 8:24Speaker 1: about how he was forced to create a second career
- 8:28Speaker 1: because sitcoms don't pay enough. But see, the problem is
- 8:33Speaker 1: when you see people that are on sitcoms, they were
- 8:35Speaker 1: big stars on anything from Seinfeld to The Dick Van
- 8:39Speaker 1: Dyke Show to Cheers to whatever. They're big stars. They
- 8:42Speaker 1: were big cast members. they got a lot of money
- 8:46Speaker 1: to be on these shows, a lot of money, but
- 8:47Speaker 1: they don't get the royalties. They don't get the residuals.
- 8:52Speaker 1: So the show could run forever. Even that old Dick
- 8:57Speaker 1: Van Dyke show, whatever they said, it's running for a
- 8:59Speaker 1: million years. And if you created it, all the money
- 9:03Speaker 1: goes to whoever created it and owns the show. They
- 9:06Speaker 1: get the residuals, they get the royalties. It's part of
- 9:08Speaker 1: the deal. The actors get paid a nice big salary,
- 9:11Speaker 1: but they don't get royalties. So If it's 30, 40
- 9:13Speaker 1: years later, they're still running Happy Days. Anson Williams isn't
- 9:17Speaker 1: getting anything. So he's 77 now. This is what he's
- 9:20Speaker 1: griping about, that he was forced to have another career.
- 9:24Speaker 1: But on the other hand, this is crazy, spoiled Hollywood people.
- 9:28Speaker 1: What person in the world gets paid for the rest
- 9:32Speaker 1: of their life from whatever job they had in the 70s?
- 9:35Speaker 1: If you had a job from 19, when was Happy
- 9:37Speaker 1: Days on? 75 to 82? If you had a job
- 9:38Speaker 1: back then, Why would it still be paying you today?
- 9:44Speaker 1: Once the job's over, you got to go make more
- 9:46Speaker 1: money doing something else. So the idea that they think
- 9:49Speaker 1: that they should get paid forever. Now, of course, the
- 9:53Speaker 1: argument in their defense is it's still making money, that
- 9:58Speaker 1: it's all over television. They're still rerunning it everywhere, so
- 10:02Speaker 1: why should the creator get the money but not... Oh,
- 10:05Speaker 1: that was the deal you signed. It was Larry David
- 10:10Speaker 1: and Jerry Seinfeld that created Seinfeld, so they get royalties forever.
- 10:14Speaker 1: And the company that owns it, Castle Rock, they get
- 10:17Speaker 1: royalties forever. The deal with the actors was... You get
- 10:21Speaker 1: paid a salary. It's a big salary every week. They
- 10:24Speaker 1: made millions doing it. But you have no ownership of it.
- 10:30Speaker 1: That's the deal. So that's the deal you sign. And,
- 10:33Speaker 1: you know, I think the idea is when you're a
- 10:35Speaker 1: big star in that sitcom and it puts you on
- 10:38Speaker 1: the map, you're then supposed to get other stuff after that.
- 10:41Speaker 1: You're not supposed to just sit back and rely on
- 10:43Speaker 1: that for the rest of your life. Ron Howard goes
- 10:47Speaker 1: out and becomes a huge director. Look at the George Clooney,
- 10:51Speaker 1: he was on ER, remember? He doesn't get any residuals
- 10:55Speaker 1: for that. But he went on to have a huge career.
- 10:58Speaker 1: You got to have a career and do something else.
- 11:00Speaker 1: You know who got, the only one that got royalties
- 11:03Speaker 1: of all the old sitcom stars? Audrey Meadows. In 1954,
- 11:09Speaker 1: when they decided to do The Honeymooners and film them,
- 11:13Speaker 1: instead of just doing them live, she demanded royalties, residuals, forever. Now,
- 11:19Speaker 1: it was unheard of at the time. And believe it
- 11:21Speaker 1: or not, in 1954, there was no such thing as
- 11:25Speaker 1: rerunning old sitcoms. That practice didn't exist yet. So they
- 11:29Speaker 1: didn't know why the hell she would want this. She
- 11:32Speaker 1: had an agent. What was his name? Irvin Arthur. Irvin Arthur.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Never trust a guy with two first names, but he
- 11:39Speaker 1: was a good guy. But he demanded the residuals, the royalties.
- 11:43Speaker 1: They didn't know what the hell anybody would want that for,
- 11:45Speaker 1: so they gave it to her. And she was the
- 11:48Speaker 1: only one who got a fortune from, Not even Jackie
- 11:51Speaker 1: Gleason got royalties on all that stuff. Somebody else owned
- 11:54Speaker 1: it all. So it was pretty good. Hey, Bill Maher
- 11:57Speaker 1: going after Cornell and actually saying they should get rid
- 12:01Speaker 1: of fraternities. After the Cornell 7, get rid of fraternities.
- 12:08Speaker 1: He makes the case that any place that's all male
- 12:13Speaker 1: is not going to function without depravity, just ask the
- 12:16Speaker 1: Catholic Church. He said, anything that's inherently all men, it's
- 12:21Speaker 1: going to get worse. You put men together in a fraternity.
- 12:24Speaker 1: It's not men, really. It's like 18, 19, 20-year-olds. They're
- 12:28Speaker 1: just kids. He said, it's just a recipe for disaster.
- 12:31Speaker 1: He may have a point there. You know, a fraternity,
- 12:35Speaker 1: I don't know, maybe in the 1950s, it was Ricky
- 12:38Speaker 1: Nelson and barbershop quartets in the fraternity. But in 2026,
- 12:44Speaker 1: a bunch of guys in a fraternity It's just a
- 12:48Speaker 1: recipe for disaster. Bill Maher saying, I'm not pulling any
- 12:53Speaker 1: punches just because I went to Cornell. Yeah, he went
- 12:56Speaker 1: to Cornell, you know. A lot of people have to
- 12:58Speaker 1: be careful now and don't want to admit they went
- 13:01Speaker 1: to Cornell. Hey, the news came this morning. Ilhan Omar's
- 13:05Speaker 1: house has been raided. Department of Justice, Homeland Security, they
- 13:10Speaker 1: have raided her house looking for her papers, her documents.
- 13:14Speaker 1: It's believed she... got here illegally, lied on an immigration paperwork.
- 13:21Speaker 1: So a raid took place this morning. A nice raid,
- 13:25Speaker 1: not like a Jack Smith raid where they had machine
- 13:29Speaker 1: guns and orders to use deadly force if necessary. None
- 13:33Speaker 1: of that. So, hey, Crazy Mom Donnie wants the NYPD
- 13:38Speaker 1: to use, review its use of force policies. He wants changes.
- 13:44Speaker 1: This is not going to be good. Now, the good
- 13:46Speaker 1: news with him, again, he's mostly just talk. He never
- 13:48Speaker 1: actually gets anything done, but we'll see. Hey, we'll take
- 13:52Speaker 1: some calls next. If you're a new caller, we'd love
- 13:55Speaker 1: to hear from you. 800-321-0710 is the number. 800-321-0710.
