- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by the hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of the. Hypnotist Adam here.
- 0:40Are you a smoker that wants to quit, or are you someone that
- 0:45really has quit and you never want to go back to smoking
- 0:48again? Because if so, I think you're
- 0:50going to get some value from this session.
- 0:53I was working with a client that had made the decision to be a
- 0:58non-smoker. Now they tried this before, they
- 1:01followed the Alan Carr easy way to quit smoking, had become a
- 1:05non-smoker for a few months. But then they fell into that
- 1:08trap. And that trap is telling
- 1:11themselves that it's OK just to have one or two.
- 1:14And that became a slippery slope back to them becoming a smoker
- 1:17again. And that's why in this session,
- 1:21there's two key components of it.
- 1:24The first is to make it clear that their last cigarette was
- 1:28their last cigarette and that they are already a nonsmoker.
- 1:32There's nothing they need to do now other than avoid having the
- 1:37next one. And that makes it feel easier to
- 1:40link to this identity of being a nonsmoker.
- 1:44And then secondly, there is an element of framing this idea of
- 1:48just one as a really sinister trap.
- 1:52And there's a lot of truth to that because actually nicotine
- 1:55is quite an addictive substance. And a lot of people and I've,
- 2:00I've done this a long time, I've worked with a lot of smokers
- 2:04that, you know, they were three months, six months, a year and
- 2:08then they went out with some friends, they had a few
- 2:11cigarettes and then before long they were back smoking like
- 2:14they'd never been a non-smoker. So it is a really sinister
- 2:18insidious trap, this kind of idea of just having one or two
- 2:22just an evening out. Now some people can be OK with
- 2:25that, but for a lot of people it lights up that part of the brain
- 2:29that they identify with being a smoker and a smoker smokes.
- 2:34So we've got this idea that they are a non-smoker that doesn't
- 2:36want to smoke and that perceives the idea of having one as a
- 2:40really sinister trap that would lure them back to all of the
- 2:44consequences they had financial health, even smells related to
- 2:50being a smoker. But then there's another element
- 2:53here of future pacing and getting all of the health
- 2:57benefits of this new identity. So cleaner skin, feeling
- 3:02healthier for them. They're in the health and
- 3:04Wellness industry, so it felt more congruent.
- 3:07There was no hypocrisy in this future of them not being a
- 3:11smoker, but also a good role model to their daughter.
- 3:14And what I've learned being a therapist is that people are
- 3:17willing to do more for other people than they ever do for
- 3:19themselves, particularly children.
- 3:21So if you can relate or resonate to any of these ideas, then I
- 3:25think you're going to get some value from this session.
- 3:28Please bear in mind it was created for a specific
- 3:32individual and therefore some of the suggestions that relate to
- 3:36health and Wellness or being a role model to their daughter
- 3:39might not connect with you at all.
- 3:40Disregard any suggestions that aren't quite right except the
- 3:44ones that are empowering and useful for you.
- 3:48And if the idea of working with me directly so that in the same
- 3:52way that this was a customized session for that client, I can
- 3:55create a customized session for you and actually do the hypnosis
- 3:58live. A lot of people don't realize
- 4:01that what you actually see or hear in these recordings is the
- 4:04actual live session that I did with the client, but I only
- 4:08record my voice to protect their confidentiality.
- 4:11That's what I can do for you. So if that seems interesting, so
- 4:15there will be a link in the show notes in the description where
- 4:18you can book a completely free consultation call to explore the
- 4:21idea of working with me. For now though, you might get
- 4:24some real value from this session.
- 4:26So find a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be
- 4:28disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 5:03Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 5:10feeling of calm relaxation. And as you exhale, just allow
- 5:16your eyelids to close. And as they close, notice how
- 5:23much easier it becomes to focus on the sound of my voice as you
- 5:29breathe in relaxation and exhale tension, each breath giving you
- 5:40a wonderful feeling of release. And I want you to breathe in
- 5:47that feeling of health and vitality and exhale all of those
- 5:59feelings of incongruency, secrecy, or feelings of
- 6:10dependency. Just allow them to leave your
- 6:13body in your outward breath. And when you breathe in, breathe
- 6:21in for longer. And as you exhale, exhale longer
- 6:30than you normally would, and any tightness around the chest, just
- 6:36feel that melting away because that's just echoes of tension
- 6:44from a previous version of you. But as of a recent decision,
- 6:53that doesn't belong to you anymore.
- 6:56So allow that tension to leave your body in the next outward
- 7:01breath. That's it.
- 7:05Feel yourself drifting deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 7:16And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 7:21And the more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe, as you
- 7:28start to enter that wonderful cycle of ever increasing and
- 7:35deeper feelings of relaxation. And you can notice the gentle
- 7:41rhythm of your breathing and with each breath out, feel
- 7:47yourself letting go just a little bit more.
- 7:53Imagine your arms and legs feeling limp, loose and heavy,
- 7:59and allow yourself to notice that your mind is becoming
- 8:06lighter, almost as though with each exhale the old version of
- 8:15you is dissolving, and within each inhale, the new you is
- 8:25beginning to emerge. Your eyelids are heavy, your
- 8:31thoughts slowing down as though you're sinking into a calm, safe
- 8:38space. And it's here, in this safe
- 8:43space, that you can allow your imagination to do the work.
- 8:51Because your unconscious mind already knows the way forward.
- 8:59So as your imagination awakens, I want you to imagine what it
- 9:03would feel like to drift back to a time where you felt proud of
- 9:12your decision to not smoke and to be a non-smoker and just
- 9:19imagine. It's at the end of the day and
- 9:25feel how good it feels to have no desire to smoke because that
- 9:33temporary feeling of gratification just isn't as
- 9:38pleasurable as feelings of self pride and satisfaction and
- 9:43accomplishment that you experience.
- 9:51Imagine the rituals that you would do in that final hour
- 9:58before sleeping. Feel that you are establishing a
- 10:05healthy ritual that doesn't need a substance filled with
- 10:15carceogens and horrible smells. I want you to feel that you are
- 10:24reactivating that version of you that knows how good it feels to
- 10:32what to not want and not need any cigarette at all.
- 10:44I just imagine drifting deeper down now, drifting into a
- 10:54dreamlike sleep where your arms and legs get limp, loose and
- 10:59heavy, your jaw relaxes, your eyelids get heavier, and your
- 11:06breathing slows even more. And I want you to imagine coming
- 11:19to a wonderful, empowering conclusion that the last
- 11:27cigarette was your last and final cigarette.
- 11:35It marked the very moment you stopped being a smoker.
- 11:43You can consider this line in the sand.
- 11:50From that moment you became a non-smoker.
- 11:58Not someone trying to quit or seeing how it goes, but a
- 12:04non-smoker. Simply someone who does not need
- 12:10or want to smoke. And because you've made that
- 12:16decision, you can feel that pride right now, feel the
- 12:22certainty in your body like a weight lifted, a lightness in
- 12:29your body, and feel a wonderful sense of energy flowing into
- 12:34you. And maybe you can notice that
- 12:42your chest feels freer, more open, knowing that any
- 12:51congestion there as a result of smoking will find its way out of
- 12:58your body. And if there is a feeling in the
- 13:04short term of having a bit of a cough, that is simply evidence
- 13:09of your body healing. So you can breathe more deeply
- 13:18and more fully and just allow the tightness to melt away.
- 13:26And with every deep, clear breath you take, you invite
- 13:31health, vitality and strength. So imagine yourself now feeling
- 13:44even more motivated to exercise, feeling that your body is now
- 13:51craving movement, stretching, and freedom more than it ever
- 13:57did nicotine. And every step, every action
- 14:05becomes proof of this positive shift, proof of who you are now,
- 14:15proof that you've escaped the trap that many people never
- 14:21escape. I want you to get a feeling of
- 14:28freedom and liberation thinking of those people that could never
- 14:36or will never escape that trap. But you have.
- 14:44It's in your past now, and if ever in the future there's a
- 14:52small inner voice whispering, goading, or taunting you, why
- 14:59not? I want you to immediately feel a
- 15:05flood of very valid reasons why not the main being, but it's
- 15:12simply not worth it because you've walked away from that
- 15:19sinister trap disguised as just one, and you see it clearly now
- 15:27for what it is, a trap. And the trap only leads back to
- 15:37frustration, disappointment, shame, regret.
- 15:47And because you've fallen into that trap before, you are more
- 15:52prepared than ever to avoid any future traps.
- 15:58Because that real you, the true you, has already escaped that
- 16:05trap and has no plans on returning.
- 16:11And every time you remind yourself that you have escaped
- 16:15the trap, you feel stronger, prouder and freer.
- 16:27I want you to imagine a fishing hook.
- 16:31A tiny fishing hook trapped inside a cigarette.
- 16:43And imagine hearing that charming, tenacious, harmless
- 16:49voice. Go on, you can have one.
- 16:54Why not? I want you to imagine that sharp
- 16:59hook inside and just as a fish in a pond see something
- 17:08tempting, desirable. They don't know the hook is
- 17:14there until it's too late. And I want you to imagine
- 17:20something disgusting, not the cigarette, but the connotation
- 17:28of it. I want you to imagine it's been
- 17:32two or three months of being that non-smoker and the idea of
- 17:38just one pops into your head. And I want you to imagine having
- 17:44that just one, that there is a sharp hook inside.
- 17:51And at the very point where that just one is either starting or
- 17:57finishing, I want you to imagine that sharp hook getting launched
- 18:03into your lip and you are being pulled back to something that
- 18:10erodes your health, your confidence, your feelings of
- 18:18health and vitality. That if someone else were to
- 18:23force your health to decline, you would call it abuse or
- 18:28poisoning. I want you to get that
- 18:32connotation that there is a hook in every just one.
- 18:41And sometimes a fish gets lucky, they nibble on the bait, but the
- 18:47hook doesn't quite reel them in. But that close call, that near
- 18:59miss, often doesn't work on a fish because their memories
- 19:04aren't very long. So the next time they see that
- 19:08tempting bait, they haven't learned from the past and sooner
- 19:15or later the hook reels them in. And maybe you'll be lucky that
- 19:24just one is just a near miss or a close call.
- 19:31But what if it's got that hook in that reels you back and keeps
- 19:36you hooked? I want you to get a sense that
- 19:41the risk is not worth it. Not that you can't smoke, but
- 19:47that you don't want to. It's not worth the risk.
- 19:53And if your unconscious mind is now willing to frame just one,
- 20:00is that potential trap hooking you back to a past that you've
- 20:05already escaped from? You know, by nodding your head.
- 20:14Because the best way of thinking about a change is to ask
- 20:19yourself the question, If I had never done this thing, would I
- 20:26start now? Knowing all of the consequences.
- 20:31And if the answer is no, then that's the reason why not.
- 20:41And as you consider that a seed planted deep in your
- 20:44subconscious mind, I'd like you to imagine yourself six months
- 20:48from now, maybe a year from now. Imagine standing in front of a
- 20:56full length mirror and I want you to look at your reflection
- 21:03in the mirror. Six months a year of being a
- 21:08non-smoker and I want you to see yourself with glowing skin, a
- 21:14healthy colour in your face, eyes brighter, body lighter,
- 21:20energy renewed, you're walking tall, breathing easily, breathe
- 21:28any cravings at all, every fibre of you being congruent with your
- 21:34decision. You see yourself living with
- 21:38more energy and enthusiasm than ever before, and you may even
- 21:45notice your daughter looking up to you as you realize this
- 21:54congruency. Integrity means that you're more
- 22:00of a role model because of that decision you made all those
- 22:05months before. Someone strong, disciplined,
- 22:09committed, and free. You were the one that was able
- 22:16to escape the trap and resist the temptation to go back.
- 22:24Your daughter sees you and knows what it means to make powerful
- 22:28choices, to see you being proud, not just for her, but for you.
- 22:37For the healthy, powerful, future focused you that you've
- 22:44become. And I want you to embody that
- 22:49feeling of being free from smoking for an entire year.
- 22:55Would you really trade that to go back?
- 23:01Those smells, that tightness, any shame, regret or secrecy,
- 23:11any frustration or lack of motivation.
- 23:16So why not? Because you don't want it.
- 23:21It's not that you can't have it. You simply don't want it
- 23:25anymore. And if that feels true in the
- 23:29future and true now, let me know by nodding your head.
- 23:36And because of that, from this moment on, you are free.
- 23:40That last cigarette was your last cigarette.
- 23:45You are a non-smoker and the old version of you you could always
- 23:53go back to. But you don't want to because in
- 23:58this version of you, your mind, body and identity are aligned,
- 24:04healthier, lighter, full of energy and proud of your choice.
- 24:11Proud of this new identity, a non-smoker that doesn't need to
- 24:16smoke, want to smoke and knows that just one is a trap, a risk
- 24:24not worth taking. So take a deep breath now and
- 24:29let it fill you with the feeling of pride and vitality.
- 24:34And as you exhale, release the past completely and when you're
- 24:40ready, bring this future identity and good feelings with
- 24:45you back into the present. And very soon I will count from
- 24:511:00 to 10:00 to awaken you. But it is the non-smoker that
- 24:56will awaken. The smoker is in your past, a
- 25:03past that you have moved on from.
- 25:07So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 25:12nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 25:15wiggle your toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 25:18here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 25:24you. Starting to count 123 waking up
- 25:30456 more alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 25:34Open your eyes, 910. Wide awake, wide awake, wide
- 25:40awake. Thank you so much for joining me
- 25:50on today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 25:53And if you've enjoyed today's episode, I would encourage you,
- 25:57if you haven't already, to hit the subscribe button or follow

- 26:15in front of even more people that but might not know that
- 26:19this show exists. So that would be helpful for me.
- 26:22And if you like the stuff that I do, take a moment just to have a
