- 1:44Speaker 1: Good morning, everybody. Welcome to the Aired Out podcast. Welcome
- 1:50Speaker 1: to Friday.
- 1:50Speaker 2: T G.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I f jeez with me. He's got his not one,
- 1:56Speaker 1: but two protein coffee latte. I mean, listen, there's people
- 2:03Speaker 1: out there that are listening right now. Gee, who they are?
- 2:08Speaker 1: Straight black coffee people, no sugar, Nope, no cream, black straight.
- 2:19Speaker 1: And then there's you ten gallons of cream the latte.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Now we're putting protein powder into a protein latte. Flavors.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I need the protein put on some. I understand mass
- 2:36Speaker 1: on me. But still though, there are people that are like,
- 2:40Speaker 1: when they hear what you're drinking, they're like, first of all,
- 2:44Speaker 1: that's not coffee. Secondly, good morning everybody. Look at Stacy
- 2:57Speaker 1: Holden right out of the shoe this morning, saying seven
- 3:00Speaker 1: in light rain at five am this morning down in
- 3:03Speaker 1: Fort Pierce.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Stacey, there's so much love going your way.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Fuck you, Yeah, exactly the gut, Stacey. And he's also
- 3:12Speaker 1: saying highs in the mid eighties by noon today, yep.
- 3:17Speaker 1: And then he's saying sorry. I think he meant to
- 3:19Speaker 1: say sorry, not sorry.
- 3:22Speaker 2: No, I think he just meant the word sorry was
- 3:25Speaker 2: really loser. Yeah, but he said sorry instead.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Yep.
- 3:30Speaker 2: I think you're right, because that's exactly where I need
- 3:32Speaker 2: to be right now. A couple of weeks, A couple
- 3:34Speaker 2: of weeks, I.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Want I want to see your I'm gonna do my
- 3:37Speaker 1: cold face. Yep. Then I want to see your cold face. Ready,
- 3:40Speaker 1: you're gonna show my cold face. I'm going to show
- 3:42Speaker 1: your cold Oh I forgot about that. Anyway, I'll pull
- 3:48Speaker 1: it up. Okay, but no where I want to see
- 3:50Speaker 1: your live cold face. Okay, here's mine ready, yep, show
- 3:58Speaker 1: me yours. Oh it's pissed.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, because I hate the fucking cold.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Listen to me cursing right away. It's it's free. The protein.
- 4:08Speaker 1: It's the protein makes you curse.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Yes, if anybody curses, just just tell people it's the
- 4:15Speaker 2: protein that makes your curse.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Listen, we have we have uh an interesting show for
- 4:22Speaker 1: you this morning. We have a lot to talk about,
- 4:26Speaker 1: a lot to get to.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Uh.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Weatherwise, we have the cold snap that's gonna be upon us.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I think starting tonight.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Tonight it gonna start, and then by Monday we're supposed
- 4:44Speaker 2: to get eight to twelve.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Inches in central of them. All right, So we're gonna laugh,
- 4:51Speaker 1: We're gonna have fun. We're gonna goof around. How do
- 4:53Speaker 1: you laugh at the saying that about I know about
- 4:57Speaker 1: the cold but you know, it's also a pretty serious thing.
- 5:02Speaker 1: And right here in the city of Berry, I know
- 5:06Speaker 1: that the public safety is right at the forefront, and
- 5:11Speaker 1: there's you know, always some concern not just for the homeless,
- 5:17Speaker 1: but for folks that are vulnerable and the elderly, and
- 5:21Speaker 1: you know, people that it's just a good time to
- 5:27Speaker 1: have a reminder of how to be how to be
- 5:30Speaker 1: safe and and make some good decisions here and with
- 5:33Speaker 1: us on the line, I think is the chief Chief Gushman,
- 5:37Speaker 1: good morning, Hey, good morning, how are you man? I'm well,
- 5:40Speaker 1: and I want to thank you for hopping on this
- 5:42Speaker 1: morning because I have been hearing and seeing on social
- 5:47Speaker 1: media the Berry City Police, very Berry City Fire, city officials,
- 5:53Speaker 1: everybody is dialed into this cold snap. And you know,
- 5:58Speaker 1: we're for honors, We're used to this kind of stuff,
- 6:00Speaker 1: but it's it's it's a it's a good time to
- 6:03Speaker 1: just put a reminder out there about some safety things
- 6:09Speaker 1: that we should have at the front of our minds.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Anything that's coming off the top of your head this.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Morning, yeah, well, just you know, thanks for thanks for
- 6:18Speaker 4: having us and thanks for for being a voice too.
- 6:22Speaker 3: We certainly have been meeting.
- 6:24Speaker 4: The city has been meeting and been working through what
- 6:27Speaker 4: we can do to help lessen the blow and the
- 6:30Speaker 4: impact on folks and and not just residents uh living
- 6:36Speaker 4: at homes, but the un housed as well. So and
- 6:40Speaker 4: as social media does show, there are warming and overnight
- 6:45Speaker 4: shelters that are going to be open in in central
- 6:49Speaker 4: Vermont and and specifically in Barry City. Those have been
- 6:55Speaker 4: open throughout the season when the when the temperatures hit
- 6:58Speaker 4: the thresholds to open and test tailor has been vital
- 7:04Speaker 4: part of the success of.
- 7:06Speaker 1: That test is going to be hopefully connecting with us
- 7:11Speaker 1: at some point this morning. Soon we're going to give
- 7:13Speaker 1: her a ring. But yeah, go ahead with here continue.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Yeah, So.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Those are resources out there if people need to access
- 7:24Speaker 4: those resources. All of the very city social media pages,
- 7:28Speaker 4: the police department, the fire department, in the city's website.
- 7:32Speaker 4: I'm sorry social media site have those up to date
- 7:36Speaker 4: resources listed with addresses.
- 7:39Speaker 3: And the times that those are open.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Beyond that, for for other folks, if you're if you
- 7:47Speaker 4: find yourself having to use some space heaters, be sure
- 7:50Speaker 4: to be careful of those. Keep them away from three
- 7:53Speaker 4: feet away from anything that's combustible.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Urge you not to use your ovens as as a
- 8:00Speaker 3: heat source. And uh, you know, I if we do
- 8:05Speaker 3: take a.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Significant amount of snow and wind and we lose power,
- 8:09Speaker 4: if you haven't to use generators, please don't use them
- 8:11Speaker 4: in your house, just outside only.
- 8:15Speaker 2: You know.
- 8:16Speaker 4: If we get this snow coupled with the cold and
- 8:19Speaker 4: you have to travel, please plan accordingly. Plan extra time
- 8:23Speaker 4: for your travel, Throw some extra blankets or sleeping bags
- 8:27Speaker 4: in your car in the event that you become disabled
- 8:29Speaker 4: for some reason, and just so you can stay warm.
- 8:33Speaker 4: H And let's not forget about our pets and our
- 8:36Speaker 4: neighbors as well. So if we know that we have
- 8:39Speaker 4: some vulnerable neighbors, let's just go check on them and
- 8:42Speaker 4: be mindful of our pets too.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and and and that's that's not just our domestic pets,
- 8:48Speaker 1: but livestock too. Man. You know, it's like, uh, make
- 8:51Speaker 1: sure they're good, make sure they've got some some shelter
- 8:54Speaker 1: and food and water of course, but oxygen dependent patients
- 9:01Speaker 1: out there, uh worthy of mention here that they should
- 9:04Speaker 1: make sure that their spare bottles are full in case
- 9:10Speaker 1: we lose power and they can't use their their oxygen concentrator.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Yeah, thanks for bringing that up. For sure. The oxygen
- 9:20Speaker 3: concentrators run off from electricity. And like you say, if
- 9:24Speaker 3: we lose.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Power, then there needs to be that backup plan.
- 9:27Speaker 3: And most folks do have some and uh and they
- 9:32Speaker 3: they should they know.
- 9:33Speaker 4: How long that they have supply in reserve, So make
- 9:37Speaker 4: sure that reserve is there, and uh, you know, reach
- 9:42Speaker 4: out to their primary positions if they if they don't
- 9:45Speaker 4: feel comfortable that they have enough to to work on
- 9:49Speaker 4: some methods to getting more supply.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Boy, is Texas brasen for a large number of
- 9:57Speaker 1: power outages, which I don't think we're anticipat much of
- 10:01Speaker 1: that as of yet. In Vermont, we're here in a
- 10:03Speaker 1: foot of snow foot and half in some areas between
- 10:07Speaker 1: Sunday and Tuesday. But coupled in with these temperatures, this
- 10:13Speaker 1: arctic blast that's sitting on top of us, it's not
- 10:17Speaker 1: the greatest combination. So if you do lose power, think
- 10:21Speaker 1: about those those oil lamps, candles, curtains, making sure you
- 10:28Speaker 1: blow out these these devices before you go to bed.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Great great pearls of wisdom, for sure.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Frozen pipes, broken pipes. It's always good to have the
- 10:46Speaker 1: name of a plumber or an electrician or someone close
- 10:50Speaker 1: by that you can contact. But I'm sure they're going
- 10:54Speaker 1: to be busy on the backside of this, and you
- 10:58Speaker 1: know this is a good time too. Just think about
- 11:04Speaker 1: maybe closing up some gaps where there's some drafts in
- 11:08Speaker 1: your house and don't run, you know, like a kerosene
- 11:13Speaker 1: heater somewhere to keep the pipes. Thought inside your house
- 11:19Speaker 1: super dangerous.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. You know, drafting homes, homes that may
- 11:26Speaker 3: not have a.
- 11:28Speaker 4: Good heat flow throughout them. I've seen some places that
- 11:32Speaker 4: they recommend that you just leave your faucet on as
- 11:35Speaker 4: a trickle. Another aspect is just leaving your the cabinet
- 11:41Speaker 4: doors open underneath your sync so that the heat can
- 11:44Speaker 4: get into that void space and and hopefully keep it
- 11:48Speaker 4: from freezing. You know, if if you do, if you
- 11:51Speaker 4: are unfortunate and have some frozen pipes, please do not
- 11:54Speaker 4: try to tackle that yourself.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Yeah, you mentioned JD. Reach out to a plumber.
- 12:01Speaker 4: I don't have statistics, but it's not unheard of to
- 12:04Speaker 4: hear a fire starting as homeowners are trying to thaw
- 12:06Speaker 4: their pipes with a torch.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, I know you hear about it all the time.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Batteries and your smoke detectors, your your CEO detectors, smoke alarms,
- 12:18Speaker 1: fire alarms, all this stuff. Make sure they're they're they're
- 12:21Speaker 1: they're swapped out. This is something that only takes a
- 12:24Speaker 1: couple of minutes. And you know you said earlier check
- 12:28Speaker 1: on your neighbors. You know this is a when you
- 12:30Speaker 1: do that, maybe that would be a great idea to
- 12:35Speaker 1: check on the elderly and say hey or the disabled, Hey,
- 12:38Speaker 1: when was the last time that your batteries were changed
- 12:41Speaker 1: in these? And let me uh, let me offer to
- 12:44Speaker 1: to go up and do that and get on a
- 12:46Speaker 1: ladder or whatever and do that. I think that's that's
- 12:49Speaker 1: a good thing.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Usually it's a couple of double A batteries or a
- 12:55Speaker 4: nine bolt and it's quick and easy to pop them
- 12:58Speaker 4: and replace them. And if and if they don't know
- 13:01Speaker 4: when the last time they were done, it's probably worthy
- 13:03Speaker 4: just to do it.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, real quick here back to the space heaters.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Make sure that you know they're not plugged into extension
- 13:14Speaker 1: cords and plug strips that are plugged into plug strips
- 13:18Speaker 1: that are plugged into plug strips for sure.
- 13:22Speaker 4: You know that causes overheating of electrical impliances and that
- 13:26Speaker 4: is the cause of fire as well.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Yeah, anything else you can think of, Chief.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Well, I think we covered a lot this morning.
- 13:33Speaker 4: And uh, and I think I'll have to I'll have
- 13:36Speaker 4: to get online so I can hear tests as well.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think I think we covered a lot.
- 13:42Speaker 4: And again, thank you for having us, and thank you
- 13:45Speaker 4: for being the voice and help spreading the word.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Yeah, and we'll also say, you know, listen, if you
- 13:51Speaker 1: got a legitimate emergency out there, call nine to one one. Obviously,
- 13:57Speaker 1: call your police or fire department. But if if you know,
- 14:01Speaker 1: if you've got a frozen pipe, it's it's not you know,
- 14:05Speaker 1: it's not really your jurisdiction. I guess for lack of
- 14:10Speaker 1: a better term, am I right?
- 14:14Speaker 4: The best that we can offer for a service is
- 14:17Speaker 4: to try to find your water shut off, to be honest,
- 14:20Speaker 4: and try to try to minimize any damage if if you.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Have burst pipes.
- 14:25Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's that's not an uncommon thing that that
- 14:29Speaker 4: we've experienced in the past. But as far as the
- 14:32Speaker 4: thawing and the repair, it's outside of our wheelhouse. But
- 14:34Speaker 4: we're happy to try to shut the water off so
- 14:36Speaker 4: that it'll enter.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Up the damage.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Chief, thanks for all your time this morning. Good luck
- 14:40Speaker 1: getting through the weekend here, and we appreciate you, your staff,
- 14:45Speaker 1: all first responders, everyone that's working in this cold around
- 14:50Speaker 1: the clock. God bless each and every one of you.
- 14:55Speaker 3: All right, thank you very much to be safe.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Thanks Chief over Now, what a great guy. And you
- 15:00Speaker 1: know this is I know that you and I both
- 15:02Speaker 1: are are not big fans gee of the cold, but
- 15:07Speaker 1: this is some really important stuff to think about here.
- 15:10Speaker 2: The only thing is you finish it with that. God
- 15:12Speaker 2: bless everyone. I mean, was were you tiny tim Channel No,
- 15:16Speaker 2: I feel.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Like you were. I'm not tiny timm in here?
- 15:19Speaker 2: You were tiny Timman, I feel so let's ask kim
- 15:25Speaker 2: Is kim Is kim seon this is she is?
- 15:28Speaker 1: We need to ask her? Was he tiny? Timmy? Yet?
- 15:32Speaker 1: I feel like I feel like you were just saying
- 15:34Speaker 1: these these people bust their asses so hard. Absolutely. Yeah.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Last night on a serious note here, I had a
- 15:49Speaker 1: neighbor's home burn. And you know, everybody is okay from
- 15:58Speaker 1: what I understand, everybody got out out, but it's a
- 16:02Speaker 1: complete loss and amazing.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Being displaced in this kind of season is difficult.
- 16:07Speaker 1: It's very difficult. Yeah, it is. It is. But the
- 16:11Speaker 1: the fire departments that that showed up, the mutual aid
- 16:16Speaker 1: who don't even think, they just they don't care what
- 16:19Speaker 1: the temperature is. They're suited up and they're they're there.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Is huge. So what will you be doing this weekend
- 16:28Speaker 1: in the cold?
- 16:30Speaker 2: Not a damn thing. All right, We're gonna play D
- 16:33Speaker 2: and D with the neighbor because worst case scenario, Jed
- 16:36Speaker 2: can dig a little path from the house to her
- 16:39Speaker 2: house right next door, and then I'll walk that path.
- 16:44Speaker 2: But other than that, and when we play D and D,
- 16:46Speaker 2: we have a good time. I mean we bring foods
- 16:48Speaker 2: to it, the whole thing, and we you know, between
- 16:51Speaker 2: fighting on the on the game and eating and watching
- 16:56Speaker 2: Michael have a couple of extra drinks and me with
- 17:01Speaker 2: my gummies and Robin Jed with them Manhattan's.
- 17:05Speaker 1: It's it's a good time. It's a good time combining
- 17:07Speaker 1: Manhattan's and gummies. Yeah, I mean that in D and D.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Yeah that's swords. Yeah, yeah, that's it's a great idea.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Waiting for the way to clear a little bits of
- 17:16Speaker 2: showy and can come back and join us because she
- 17:19Speaker 2: has a blast when we're playing.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Yeah wow, so yeah, yeah, okay, and.
- 17:24Speaker 2: We don't invite you, although although we were thinking, Tracy
- 17:28Speaker 2: and I were talking about doing a game night like
- 17:31Speaker 2: on a Saturday or a Sunday that's not D and
- 17:33Speaker 2: D that you can also join.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, you know what your you know what
- 17:38Speaker 1: your your asshole brother said to me one time. What
- 17:42Speaker 1: he's like, Yeah, j Ed, you should come over and
- 17:45Speaker 1: play D and D with us. You could be the hobbit.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Well you know, you put him in a chokehol then yeah,
- 17:54Speaker 1: I know.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Well Dolly Parton's also dead according to him, so we
- 17:58Speaker 2: we can't be.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Totally talking that right.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Uh.
- 18:02Speaker 1: John says, ain't nothing tiny about JD. Whoo right there.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Well he's talking about width, he's not talking about length. Okay, God,
- 18:13Speaker 2: he's talking about your body.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Listen, good morning if you just tune it in. Flying
- 18:18Speaker 1: the Wall Productions bringing you the aired Out podcast Facebook, YouTube,
- 18:22Speaker 1: We're Live dot We're Live on Both were streamed everywhere
- 18:24Speaker 1: you get your podcasts. We're on the web airedoutvt dot com.
- 18:27Speaker 1: G is one of my best friends. We had to
- 18:31Speaker 1: get the coffee this morning where we were a few
- 18:33Speaker 1: minutes late getting on it was my fault because of that.
- 18:35Speaker 1: It was it was your fault.
- 18:36Speaker 2: It was my fault because you were actually gonna be
- 18:39Speaker 2: here by a quarter two. And then I said, we're
- 18:42Speaker 2: not going to get a coffee, and you're like, oh,
- 18:44Speaker 2: we can get a coffee. So then we had to
- 18:46Speaker 2: wait online there, and then we had to see Franccene. Yeah,
- 18:50Speaker 2: fran Scene was handing me a drink that looked wrong,
- 18:53Speaker 2: so then I had to taste it. The people behind
- 18:55Speaker 2: us probably hated.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Us, Yeah, but I don't care. That's okay, Yeah, that's
- 18:59Speaker 1: all right.
- 19:00Speaker 2: But the guy who took our holder, I don't think
- 19:02Speaker 2: he was awake yet. Yeah, thank you for shopping at
- 19:12Speaker 2: dunkin Donuts?
- 19:13Speaker 1: Could I help you?
- 19:15Speaker 2: And we're like, we want a coffee? Two coffee hot
- 19:19Speaker 2: or cold cold?
- 19:21Speaker 1: Please and eat it? Girls? Is that it? He got it?
- 19:28Speaker 1: I need coffee by myself.
- 19:30Speaker 2: It was like, oh my god. So I told Francinas,
- 19:33Speaker 2: I give that man a coffee. It's not like he's
- 19:35Speaker 2: not making it for everybody else.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I know. Gosh, listen, and I'm sure De Martin would
- 19:41Speaker 1: let his people drink a coffee if they needed it
- 19:45Speaker 1: in the morning. Most drive throughs, first of all, and
- 19:50Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not defending anything here. I'm just saying
- 19:53Speaker 1: most First of all, I can't imagine being a drive
- 19:59Speaker 1: through person employee. I can't imagine it. My patients would
- 20:06Speaker 1: hit a threshold almost immediately. I'd get somebody like Cherylyn
- 20:11Speaker 1: coming through there, and that would probably be my last
- 20:15Speaker 1: day on the job having to deal with someone you
- 20:18Speaker 1: and I have gone to. Having to deal with someone
- 20:20Speaker 1: like you or Charylyn would be the last day on
- 20:23Speaker 1: the job.
- 20:24Speaker 2: No, every time we go through drive through, she and
- 20:26Speaker 2: I we have a great time. And I go with
- 20:29Speaker 2: Tracy all the time and we have a great time. See,
- 20:33Speaker 2: you just create this thing just because Choylyn has has
- 20:37Speaker 2: the hutzpah to stand up for her rights and I
- 20:41Speaker 2: have the cal homes to say fuck you right to
- 20:43Speaker 2: somebody's face when they deserve it. You consider that I'd
- 20:48Speaker 2: be afraid to do. We pull up and Charlyne's.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Like, good morning, love, Could I get it by?
- 20:54Speaker 2: And then we get to the front and she's like hello, sweetie,
- 20:57Speaker 2: and I'm like thank you.
- 20:58Speaker 1: And she were pleasant, just like you and I were.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I don't start anything at the at the drive throughs,
- 21:06Speaker 2: and if they fuck it up, I just say I'm sorry,
- 21:08Speaker 2: this isn't correct. And if they give me an attitude,
- 21:11Speaker 2: then I pull over, go inside, and now we're fucking
- 21:14Speaker 2: with my coffee.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna mess with you, right, that's all. Yeah,
- 21:20Speaker 1: you know. Sherilyn though, and my mother was horrible with
- 21:27Speaker 1: this too. They'd pull up to the drive through, Now,
- 21:31Speaker 1: is is the the bagels there? Do you have the
- 21:37Speaker 1: ones with the poppy seeds and the sipp asking all
- 21:43Speaker 1: these questions.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Yeah, those kind of things. I would say, go inside,
- 21:46Speaker 2: take taking their time, go inside?
- 21:50Speaker 1: Now is that gluten free? Because the how many raisins
- 21:55Speaker 1: are in the raisin pig? My mother was bet But
- 22:00Speaker 1: Sherilyn will will go up to a drive through and
- 22:03Speaker 1: she'll be like, first of all, the British accent. It
- 22:06Speaker 1: throws everybody off, right, they don't understand. I think it's lovely.
- 22:11Speaker 1: And she'll be like, yes, can I have ice? And
- 22:14Speaker 1: they're like the what lights ice? Or then she'll say,
- 22:22Speaker 1: you know, can I have a nice tea that's half
- 22:26Speaker 1: sweet and and half not? Yeah? That confuses everybody. That's
- 22:32Speaker 1: a yeah, because then you get a huh.
- 22:36Speaker 2: You just need two small tea's, one sweet, one not sweet,
- 22:41Speaker 2: and put both of them in one cup, Todd Doc.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Then she'll really do it. She'll say, you know, half
- 22:49Speaker 1: and half. She got a nice tea one time with
- 22:52Speaker 1: half and half in the iced tea. Wow, they don't understand.
- 22:59Speaker 1: And then but it's the English the light ice, light ice. Yeah,
- 23:03Speaker 1: we only have full fat right ice. Yeah, we have
- 23:07Speaker 1: full flavored ice. Sorry, we don't have light.
- 23:09Speaker 2: What she means is, you know, go easy on the ice,
- 23:12Speaker 2: but just a little bit.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:14Speaker 2: When it's a complicated order like that, When I know
- 23:18Speaker 2: I'm going in there and I'm going to be ordering
- 23:19Speaker 2: four or five drinks and each one has a specific
- 23:22Speaker 2: then I just park and go inside because use the
- 23:26Speaker 2: DM app. When you're using the drive through, to me,
- 23:31Speaker 2: that's like the fast through. You're going to get your drink,
- 23:34Speaker 2: maybe your bagel, and then you're out, you know. But
- 23:38Speaker 2: when people give a list so long that and I
- 23:42Speaker 2: know those because I'm right behind you when you're putting
- 23:44Speaker 2: your order in, I can see the screen.
- 23:46Speaker 1: People.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Yes, and you got like fourteen things on that screen.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Yes, go inside.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Let them make that for you special inside where you're
- 23:56Speaker 2: not holding up.
- 23:57Speaker 1: The people agreed side agree.
- 23:58Speaker 2: And I bet your friend agrees too, frant agrees, because
- 24:01Speaker 2: fans probably like what the f Yeah, but and mine,
- 24:05Speaker 2: the only reason we took a long time was because
- 24:07Speaker 2: mine looked a little lighter than usual. Yeah, and sometimes
- 24:11Speaker 2: they've made this where it tasted like oat milk and
- 24:13Speaker 2: water and I'm like, no, so I taste it now
- 24:17Speaker 2: just in case.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I'm just seeing here. First of all, seventeen degrees in
- 24:23Speaker 1: the Granite City. Wow, right now? And Jed was wearing
- 24:26Speaker 1: what shorts and a Trans Siberian Orchestra T shirt. Yeah,
- 24:32Speaker 1: that's that. And he was quite content with that, yep.
- 24:36Speaker 1: And I know often barefoot, Yeah, well socks. And then
- 24:40Speaker 1: there's you. You got now you cut your your your
- 24:43Speaker 1: new electric blanket. Yeah, you have a an electric vest.
- 24:48Speaker 2: It goes around my neck and then it goes down
- 24:51Speaker 2: the back and then it ties, so it does my
- 24:54Speaker 2: back and my shoulders and my neck.
- 24:56Speaker 1: All right, where's the Russian hat?
- 25:00Speaker 2: The Russian hats at home because it's fur and I'm
- 25:03Speaker 2: not going to wear it when it's wet.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Out, understand. Yeah, but you have this big, furry, fluffy
- 25:08Speaker 1: Russian hat. Yes, you look like a complete moron. I
- 25:12Speaker 1: do not. You haven't even seen it on me. You
- 25:15Speaker 1: twat what's wrong with you? I seen it on you twice,
- 25:21Speaker 1: and I'm saying, you look like something that belongs in
- 25:24Speaker 1: the wilderness.
- 25:25Speaker 2: With my fur coat on hunting day, with my fur coat.
- 25:28Speaker 2: I'm trying to get a full length fur coat for
- 25:30Speaker 2: the cruise so that I can wear it.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Going. Winter storm watch in effect from Sunday afternoon through
- 25:40Speaker 1: late Monday night.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Now, the actual storm warning that I got was from
- 25:48Speaker 2: Monday now, from Sunday afternoons Tuesday morning.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Well, this has just come in from the National Weather
- 25:56Speaker 1: so they don't know until it happens. You know.
- 25:58Speaker 2: I've heard we're going to get ones, and we ended
- 26:00Speaker 2: up getting a dusting. And one time we were supposed
- 26:03Speaker 2: to get a dusting, so Jed and I went out.
- 26:05Speaker 2: By the time we finished eating and got back to
- 26:08Speaker 2: the car, it was almost a foot. So they don't
- 26:10Speaker 2: know what they're talking about.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Speaking of big ones.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Did I ever tell you, ooh, that's a lead in.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Did I ever tell you walked right into that one
- 26:20Speaker 1: about the morning that we were supposed to get like
- 26:24Speaker 1: eight inches of snow and I was on the air
- 26:28Speaker 1: on Froggy and we ended up getting like two inches.
- 26:34Speaker 1: The storm went to the south right, and Sherylyn called
- 26:38Speaker 1: in and was live on the air and said, what
- 26:42Speaker 1: happened to the eight inches that you promised me last night?
- 26:49Speaker 2: Well, she'd never get that from you.
- 26:50Speaker 1: But anyway, portions of northern New York as well as
- 26:55Speaker 1: as well as central and northern Vermont. No, I'm not
- 26:59Speaker 1: blushing from Sunday afternoon through late Monday night. Don't listen
- 27:03Speaker 1: to gee uh playing on Slipperyesday morning conditions hazards conditions could.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Then for Schet said Tuesday morning could.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Impact the morning, the Monday morning and evening.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Commutes because it's not gonna end until Tuesday. That's why
- 27:22Speaker 2: the evening commute on Monday will be messy. Ben for
- 27:26Speaker 2: Chett said it, and every time he says the weather,
- 27:28Speaker 2: I always go the opposite way, and I'm usually right.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Kimberly Seas you said, no comment, no comment on what
- 27:35Speaker 2: did I miss something?
- 27:36Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 27:37Speaker 2: Probably don't forget the challenge. Next week is Becky calling in?
- 27:42Speaker 1: Oh, that's gonna be good.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Yeah, she's not Becky, not Becky. Crystal Crystals. Crystal Becky
- 27:48Speaker 2: was supposed to call him this week, but she had surgery,
- 27:52Speaker 2: so she's still recovering and today. Yeah, she's just lightweight, lightweight, lightweight,
- 27:58Speaker 2: becky lightweight. I still don't forget your challenge to call
- 28:03Speaker 2: in next week. And if you don't know the number,
- 28:06Speaker 2: you call me. Oh you message, she knows the number.
- 28:09Speaker 2: But your job is to call in next week. We'll
- 28:11Speaker 2: have the phone ready the whole time. That's my challenge
- 28:13Speaker 2: to you.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Here's our weather forecast officially for today. Cloudy skies, snow showers,
- 28:20Speaker 1: especially this afternoon. Had them this morning. Boy, it was
- 28:23Speaker 1: coming down greasy. Yeah, nineteen degrees for the daytime high yep. Today,
- 28:29Speaker 1: then tonight. This is Friday night, the beginning of the
- 28:34Speaker 1: deep freeze, the Arctic.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Blast, the ice age of two thousands.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Bitterly cold, just too much, bitterly cold, bean, mister Bate.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Bitterly cold, cloudy early on some uh clearing. Expect to
- 29:00Speaker 1: late down around ten below. Wow, that's tonight. Yeah. And
- 29:04Speaker 1: then the winds fifteen miles per hour yeah with ten
- 29:08Speaker 1: below yeah, frozen nads. Yeah.
- 29:13Speaker 2: My poor doggie does not like this weather. I had
- 29:17Speaker 2: to get him a thermal jacket and his sweater to
- 29:22Speaker 2: put on him before we go out, because I mean,
- 29:25Speaker 2: he's all of twelve pounds thirteen pounds and he's got
- 29:28Speaker 2: to be out in this weather. He no bueno. Sometimes
- 29:31Speaker 2: he doesn't even walk off this stupid piece right on
- 29:34Speaker 2: this stoop in the back because he's like, I.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Don't want to go there. He he's a chihuahua. Yeah,
- 29:42Speaker 1: with you said a winter blanket.
- 29:46Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 29:47Speaker 1: What does he have?
- 29:48Speaker 2: Now? He has a thermal blanket that harnesses onto him
- 29:54Speaker 2: and then a sweater with like a turtleneck sweater that
- 29:58Speaker 2: he wears out there. And yeah, I got it. I
- 30:05Speaker 2: get well, you know, I mean they have fur coats on.
- 30:08Speaker 2: But but chihuahwas have very thin fur so and he
- 30:12Speaker 2: got shaven in a couple of areas, so he's he's
- 30:15Speaker 2: got cold coming in. So yeah, so he's uh, I
- 30:18Speaker 2: gotta bundle him up, and he's so afraid to go out.
- 30:22Speaker 2: It's so cold that sometimes he pees on the floor
- 30:25Speaker 2: by the door where he has to go out, because
- 30:27Speaker 2: he doesn't he has to pee, So he's by the door,
- 30:30Speaker 2: letting you know. But he's so afraid of the cold
- 30:33Speaker 2: because it's so bitterly cold on their paws and on there,
- 30:36Speaker 2: that he'll pee at the door. And then Jed gets upset,
- 30:39Speaker 2: which I understand but it's kind of frigid out there,
- 30:43Speaker 2: and people who leave their dogs outside in this kind
- 30:45Speaker 2: of weather, shame on that.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Unless your dog is made for winter. You know, come on,
- 30:52Speaker 2: I peed on the floor once.
- 30:53Speaker 1: It was horrible. Oh my gosh, Carlen was pissed. TMI.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Looks like Saturday to be still bitterly cold, sunny skies
- 31:03Speaker 1: and a daytime high. Oh, breaking news. We're on the
- 31:11Speaker 1: plus side for a daytime high on Saturday. One degree.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Wow, wow one. It was supposed to be minus one,
- 31:21Speaker 2: supposed to be minus one. Gosh, so that's almost January thaw.
- 31:26Speaker 1: From minus one to one. Yeah, correct me if I'm wrong.
- 31:30Speaker 2: That's two jumps, yes, and that's that's huge. And you
- 31:36Speaker 2: know what that means. That guarantees us that Jed will
- 31:40Speaker 2: be in shorts and a T shirt because if it
- 31:43Speaker 2: was minus.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Maybe maybe he'd wear Maybe you're ready for Saturday night?
- 31:49Speaker 1: Bring it here we go? Are you sitting down?
- 31:53Speaker 3: No?
- 31:55Speaker 1: Negative fifteen? Negative twelve to negative fifteen depending on where
- 32:00Speaker 1: we are. Ridiculous partly cloudy skies. That's air temp. Yeah,
- 32:05Speaker 1: get the wind chills going yep, and it's like thirty
- 32:08Speaker 1: to forty below. Yeah, you and I probably are not
- 32:13Speaker 1: going to be downhill skiing at Bolton Valley now Saturday night.
- 32:16Speaker 2: No, okay, we'll be texting back and forth from your
- 32:20Speaker 2: house to my house. That'll be our conversation.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Lots of memes.
- 32:25Speaker 2: I'll be like, hey, JD, you want to come over?
- 32:28Speaker 5: No?
- 32:31Speaker 1: Uh, you know, we should share all the memes that
- 32:34Speaker 1: we share, should we?
- 32:38Speaker 2: Some of those memes that I've sent you are just not.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Air appropriate, I believe me. I know trying to find
- 32:46Speaker 1: the one that you that you sent me, and some
- 32:51Speaker 1: of these voice messages we've shared with each other.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Yeah, no, no boy, I know no, as Tracy would say,
- 33:02Speaker 2: no boy, no.
- 33:04Speaker 1: So let's let's show. Let's let's show the Uh.
- 33:07Speaker 2: I wonder if Kayla is listening today?
- 33:08Speaker 1: Go on, Oh the picture that you've made of me,
- 33:13Speaker 1: of yourself dealing with winter?
- 33:15Speaker 2: Yeah right there, yep, that's me. Yep, that's a thank you?
- 33:20Speaker 1: No thank you?
- 33:22Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you?
- 33:23Speaker 1: No thank you. Yeah. I can't if you're the pizza
- 33:27Speaker 1: delivery guy and you're showing up at somebody's house that
- 33:32Speaker 1: looks like that when they answered the door, Yeah, I run.
- 33:35Speaker 1: I don't need a tip now here's your pizza. As
- 33:38Speaker 1: a matter of fact, no charge.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Yeah, have a great day, Yeah exactly, yep, yeah, no,
- 33:46Speaker 2: that's that's definitely how I feel when it starts to
- 33:49Speaker 2: get cold. I don't like the cold period. End of sentence.
- 33:52Speaker 2: This is not a discussion.
- 33:54Speaker 1: I just don't like it. Well, then, gee, why are
- 33:57Speaker 1: you living in Fremont.
- 33:59Speaker 2: I'm working on adding the f out. If I make
- 34:06Speaker 2: it three years here, that'll be a lot, because I
- 34:09Speaker 2: doubt it, even though jed things three to five, but
- 34:12Speaker 2: I doubt it.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Sunday's high eight, so we're obviously well into the heat
- 34:19Speaker 1: wave it is. Yeah, that's the January thaw. We're going
- 34:23Speaker 1: from one from one to eight.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Yeah, that's he that's seven steps, seven steps. See now
- 34:30Speaker 2: some people would say that's eight, but it's not because
- 34:34Speaker 2: one is one and all the way up to eight.
- 34:37Speaker 2: So that's two, three, four, five, six, seven eight.
- 34:40Speaker 1: You do the math, seven steps from one degree to
- 34:45Speaker 1: eight to eight. Thank you, PSA, thank you. Snow likely
- 34:51Speaker 1: in the afternoon Sunday, like it's doing now again eight
- 34:56Speaker 1: degrees one to three inches. Of course. You know, I
- 35:05Speaker 1: was gonna say something about inches, but I'm just I'm
- 35:08Speaker 1: not I'm just not gonna do it.
- 35:09Speaker 2: I was promised to foot Okay, that's what they said,
- 35:13Speaker 2: eight to twelve inches by the time it's over, which
- 35:17Speaker 2: you know, I feel bad for everybody who has to
- 35:20Speaker 2: snow blow and shovel and all this stuff.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Yeah, because I have a house too.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Okay, I happen to have a Jed, so he does
- 35:28Speaker 2: all that. But I mean, oh my gosh, my neighbor
- 35:32Speaker 2: across the street. The man is like, got to be
- 35:35Speaker 2: in his eighties and his wife is handicapped. She's refined
- 35:40Speaker 2: to a wheelchair whatever that word is. And yeah, I
- 35:44Speaker 2: see him out there with his shovel and his snowblower,
- 35:47Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh, poor papa. And I always say
- 35:50Speaker 2: to Jed, maybe he should go help him. He's like, no,
- 35:52Speaker 2: he's flying. But the poor guy, I should make him
- 35:55Speaker 2: a cheesecake. He and his wife like cheesecas.
- 35:58Speaker 1: You should do that. They're lovely people. Great point we say,
- 36:05Speaker 1: check on your neighbors, but it's not just give him
- 36:08Speaker 1: a call or knocking the door and say, hey, a
- 36:09Speaker 1: you doing all right?
- 36:10Speaker 2: If you look outside and shove off their step, or yeah,
- 36:13Speaker 2: if you look outside and you see them out there
- 36:16Speaker 2: and they're in there. They're elderly ages, you know, me
- 36:19Speaker 2: and older, and if you if you see them out
- 36:23Speaker 2: there doing that, you know, the chances of them getting
- 36:26Speaker 2: hurt is slim. But but at that age, if he
- 36:30Speaker 2: slips or if he whatever, he could break a bone.
- 36:34Speaker 2: And you know, breaking a hip when you get older
- 36:36Speaker 2: is dangerous. I mean, that could lead you to death.
- 36:39Speaker 2: I mean I know somebody who broke a hip and
- 36:41Speaker 2: never recovered from it and died because their body wasn't
- 36:44Speaker 2: able to fight that surgery and everything else. So if
- 36:49Speaker 2: you see somebody outside that's having a rough time, you know,
- 36:52Speaker 2: and if you can't do it and you see kids outside, whatever,
- 36:55Speaker 2: say hey, kids, I'll give you ten bucks if you
- 36:57Speaker 2: just clear this off for me.
- 36:59Speaker 1: You know your limits. When you get older.
- 37:05Speaker 2: You like, I always call it mature.
- 37:08Speaker 1: You like that independence though you like to be self sufficient.
- 37:12Speaker 1: You absolutely do. Call it stubbornness, call it whatever you want.
- 37:17Speaker 2: And you know, one time Jed did go over I
- 37:20Speaker 2: call him Papa because he's older than me, and he
- 37:23Speaker 2: went over to Papa's house while Papa was and he said,
- 37:25Speaker 2: you want me to snowblow this for you?
- 37:27Speaker 1: Because Jed was out snowblow and.
- 37:28Speaker 2: The guy's like, no, I don't mind it, but we asked.
- 37:32Speaker 2: We're not gonna push, but we asked. And when Jed
- 37:34Speaker 2: came in and said no, he doesn't want help, then
- 37:37Speaker 2: I sat there and I just kind of kept an
- 37:38Speaker 2: eye out while he was doing. I wasn't staring at him,
- 37:41Speaker 2: but i'd look over and make sure he was okay,
- 37:43Speaker 2: just because it's the naboly thing to do.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Right. Sometimes maybe what do you think about this? Sometimes
- 37:51Speaker 1: maybe don't even ask, just do if.
- 37:54Speaker 2: It's not if they aren't touching it yet, if they're
- 37:57Speaker 2: not dealing with it yet, yes, go out and do
- 38:00Speaker 2: it for them if you want.
- 38:01Speaker 1: But if they're in the middle of doing and you.
- 38:03Speaker 2: Ask them and they say no, thank you, you can
- 38:05Speaker 2: say either okay, well you know what, I'll attack this.
- 38:08Speaker 2: SI you do that, we'll meet in the middle. Sure
- 38:10Speaker 2: or respect is his wish to do it?
- 38:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you. I got you. But it's all
- 38:16Speaker 1: dependent on the person and how well you know them, right, Yeah,
- 38:20Speaker 1: A good, good point.
- 38:21Speaker 2: You know, Like I know Tracy very very well, and
- 38:24Speaker 2: not once has she come to clear my walkway. Not once? Okay, Yeah,
- 38:30Speaker 2: she doesn't do hers either, so it's all good.
- 38:34Speaker 1: We're still doing the forecast here. Oh shit, go on, No, No,
- 38:38Speaker 1: I'm just more Yeah, I'm just kidding. We're still Sunday.
- 38:42Speaker 1: We're into Sunday night now, bitterly cold periods of snow.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Look what I'm showing here is five to eight inches
- 38:56Speaker 1: on Sunday night. This is in addition to you know,
- 38:59Speaker 1: one to three here, one to three there. Yeah, four
- 39:05Speaker 1: degrees yep, that's that's huge. Yeah. And then on Monday,
- 39:10Speaker 1: let's talk about Monday snow during the morning, lighter, during
- 39:16Speaker 1: the afternoon daytime highs on Monday sixteen wow, with another
- 39:24Speaker 1: one to three inches expected.
- 39:26Speaker 2: So we're going over seven and then seven were doubling. Yeah,
- 39:33Speaker 2: we're going to be fourteen. This is why fourteen degrees higher.
- 39:36Speaker 1: This is why we've got friends like Crystal and Stacey
- 39:41Speaker 1: and a few others that are living down south. Yep, yep,
- 39:48Speaker 1: that's me.
- 39:49Speaker 2: I'm going to be going soon and I don't know
- 39:51Speaker 2: if I can get rid of my nail lady, I
- 39:53Speaker 2: might have to take away with me, but I'm going
- 39:55Speaker 2: to leave sooner or no. Hey, have you shown the
- 39:57Speaker 2: nails today? No, because I haven't got and I'm done yet.
- 40:00Speaker 2: These are from last time I showed.
- 40:02Speaker 1: All right, I go show me again for anyone who's missed.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Oh my god, going for here, vampirey Jesus, but I go.
- 40:11Speaker 2: I go today with Cholin. We we go every three weeks,
- 40:15Speaker 2: and I'm dying to go because it's time to change
- 40:17Speaker 2: the color.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Anyway. Do you like her nail, lady? I do? I
- 40:21Speaker 1: really do.
- 40:22Speaker 2: And then on top of that, we're going to be
- 40:27Speaker 2: going the week before the cruise, so that's when Chavelyn
- 40:31Speaker 2: and I are going to really deck out our nails.
- 40:33Speaker 1: And I might even add.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Some stones to it, some mindstones on it for the cruise. Wow,
- 40:41Speaker 2: some of my clothes came in for the cruise.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Wow Wow.
- 40:48Speaker 2: I mean yeah, I'm gonna be uh yeah, wow wow Wow.
- 40:53Speaker 2: I have a shirt, an iridescent silver colored shirt that
- 40:57Speaker 2: I'm gona be wearing with leather pants and clunky boots
- 41:01Speaker 2: and oh yeah, wow, I know I have some pretty
- 41:06Speaker 2: cool I have a shirt that's all white with a
- 41:09Speaker 2: little black mark up here like a tie. It just
- 41:12Speaker 2: looks like a lot and then the sleeves are very
- 41:16Speaker 2: very sheer see through. Really yeah, then I'm gonna wear
- 41:19Speaker 2: under a jacket. But if I take the jacket off,
- 41:22Speaker 2: I'll stay cool enough.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Are we h at any point going to be going
- 41:27Speaker 1: live during this? If we can get reception? Yeah, why not? Okay?
- 41:32Speaker 1: And if not, I mean, I don't know.
- 41:34Speaker 2: If you've got the Wi Fi package, but if not,
- 41:37Speaker 2: we can certainly do videos, because we're gonna do a
- 41:40Speaker 2: lot of videos anyway, and then you can always turn
- 41:43Speaker 2: around what you're doing to me, he said, I'm sitting
- 41:47Speaker 2: here talking and he's sitting here playing with my picture.
- 41:51Speaker 2: God knows what he's gonna do to that. But anyway,
- 41:54Speaker 2: so yeah, we'll do videos and we'll post them when
- 41:57Speaker 2: we get back. All right, but you me show Jed,
- 42:00Speaker 2: Lily and her friend all on this cruise together.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Wow.
- 42:05Speaker 2: The people have no idea what they're in for.
- 42:09Speaker 1: I wonder if they're gonna if they're gonna port somewhere
- 42:14Speaker 1: and say, you guys, get the hell off this.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Yeah, because everything we do, they'll will never leave a
- 42:21Speaker 2: trace that it was us.
- 42:22Speaker 1: So who cares? We're gonna be there for my birthday?
- 42:27Speaker 1: Speaking of birthdays? Yeah, that was my segue for you,
- 42:30Speaker 1: was it? Yes? I want to mention a couple of
- 42:33Speaker 1: birthdays here. I'm working on it.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Hi, Francine, I see your watching is fran On she is.
- 42:41Speaker 2: She's talking about my nails. She saw them in person
- 42:45Speaker 2: this morning.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Friend is beautiful, she.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Said, franccene, I love you. The only thing is when
- 42:50Speaker 2: we come through. Don't you think it'd be nice every
- 42:52Speaker 2: once in a while if you say, eh, it's on me, that.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Would be nice, That would be delightful.
- 42:57Speaker 2: And if she threw like a croissant in a bag
- 43:00Speaker 2: and just said here and we said we didn't order this,
- 43:02Speaker 2: it's on me, donut, a doughnut for you and a
- 43:05Speaker 2: croissant for me. She's never done that. And we'll pay
- 43:08Speaker 2: for the coffees, but throw something in for us, Francie,
- 43:11Speaker 2: and don't give me the well, I'll get in trouble.
- 43:14Speaker 1: I'll kill de Martin and tell him I told you
- 43:16Speaker 1: to please. Okay, all right? And a little darker on
- 43:21Speaker 1: cheese drink it's too there's too much cream in there.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Yeah there is. I may I may have to. I
- 43:26Speaker 1: don't give it. If we're calling it a lot to
- 43:29Speaker 1: I don't care what it's called.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Yeah, a little darker, Well, the darker is the is
- 43:33Speaker 2: the chocolate. And I don't necessarily need a lot of
- 43:35Speaker 2: chocolate today. So and they mix it up well, so
- 43:37Speaker 2: I'm not complaining. Francine, love you, love you more than
- 43:40Speaker 2: my luggage, which, by the way, I'm throwing out, so
- 43:42Speaker 2: that doesn't say much for you.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Wow, I'm kidding, Francine, I love you.
- 43:51Speaker 2: She's so friendly and that though it's like we do
- 43:55Speaker 2: me on Fridays now to lead into the weekend perky
- 43:58Speaker 2: fun whatever. But she he's like our Friday morning doze
- 44:02Speaker 2: of perky before we get here to be perky.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Yep here it is, yep, rachel daily birthday on the
- 44:15Speaker 1: birthday list today justin sell Oh chucks on what a
- 44:20Speaker 1: great guy.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Uh.
- 44:23Speaker 1: My niece Kate, happy birthday. I just it's so hard
- 44:29Speaker 1: for I'm very happy for her, it's a birthday. I
- 44:32Speaker 1: love her, but it's so hard for me to process
- 44:37Speaker 1: how old my niece is now. And my nephews yep,
- 44:42Speaker 1: who I used to hold in my arms. I remember
- 44:45Speaker 1: it yesterday. Yeah, and I just yeah, same thing. My
- 44:49Speaker 1: older cousins.
- 44:50Speaker 2: I always thought, you know, they were only a year
- 44:52Speaker 2: or two ahead of me or something, until I find
- 44:55Speaker 2: out that my cousins are dying left and right, and
- 44:57Speaker 2: then I realized, holy shit, yeah, you know, I'm getting
- 45:01Speaker 2: I'm getting up.
- 45:01Speaker 1: There, Chris Coleburn, Alison Turner, Joe Stop, John Duke, Abby Ton,
- 45:12Speaker 1: Tony Oli, Gary Elliott, Brenda Hawkins. These are all folks
- 45:19Speaker 1: celebrating birthdays today in this twenty third of January. Aaron Holten,
- 45:25Speaker 1: Susie uh Steamley Brooke Avery, Ralph Garish. How is Chuck? Chuck?
- 45:39Speaker 2: He was putting his face against the window and now
- 45:41Speaker 2: he's leaving.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Seriously. Yeah, I would have opened the door from Oh no,
- 45:46Speaker 1: please don't now, please? Why is he wired? Just please don't? Okay,
- 45:53Speaker 1: is it locked? It's locked? Thank you.
- 45:55Speaker 2: Yeah, we lock all the doors here because people like
- 45:58Speaker 2: to just walk in the middle of a show.
- 46:01Speaker 1: That happened a while ago. Yeah, that happened last week.
- 46:05Speaker 1: I think, not with me. No, it was I can't
- 46:08Speaker 1: remember who it was, but.
- 46:10Speaker 2: It happened one time with me. It was Rex. He
- 46:12Speaker 2: just showed up out of nowhere.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Ralph Garish, I think I mentioned him. Josh Dupree, one
- 46:20Speaker 1: of the dup Trees. Yeah, they're all on the birthday
- 46:23Speaker 1: list today. So happy birthday everybody. I hope you have
- 46:26Speaker 1: a wonderful, wonderful birthday, and I hope you're you're warm
- 46:29Speaker 1: and happy, typical of Chuck to start tuning in, you know,
- 46:35Speaker 1: last minute, at the last minute, missed eight of the show, if.
- 46:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and then he and then he comes back later
- 46:44Speaker 2: he gets on and he's like, I'm just calling in
- 46:47Speaker 2: because you guys are funny today. You didn't freaking hear
- 46:49Speaker 2: us until five minutes ago. Don't pretend complete ass. Oh,
- 46:54Speaker 2: let me pretend I've been watching and then they'll no,
- 46:57Speaker 2: I can't, No, you weren't seen that.
- 47:00Speaker 1: If you asked me, do you watch the show? I
- 47:01Speaker 1: say no, I know. Chuck will be like yeah, and
- 47:04Speaker 1: then you say, what's your favorite part?
- 47:06Speaker 2: All of it?
- 47:07Speaker 1: All of it? All right, Chuck? You know who does that?
- 47:11Speaker 1: Must be the ginger in him. Dwayne does that too, Steve,
- 47:15Speaker 1: oh god all time.
- 47:17Speaker 2: Well, Dwayne has a habit of a few things. Yes,
- 47:21Speaker 2: but Chuck is Chuck as well? Is Chuck Evan knotstoned m.
- 47:27Speaker 1: I think a couple of years ago there was one
- 47:30Speaker 1: day it was right, yeah, yeah, we've gotta be careful
- 47:33Speaker 1: here because you know, these people work. What are you
- 47:37Speaker 1: talking about? They have they have jobs. You know who
- 47:39Speaker 1: has job? Chuck? Chuck's got a Chuck Come on, yes,
- 47:43Speaker 1: he does, come on?
- 47:46Speaker 2: Uh well, clearly he doesn't do anything during worktime. I'm
- 47:50Speaker 2: talking about recreational evenings and stuff. Not for nothing.
- 47:56Speaker 1: Gummy is illegal, I would say, very wreckord creational eat things, eatings.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Shout out to our good buddy Glenn today. I know Glenn.
- 48:13Speaker 1: I hope he's all right. I hope he's all right.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Just just saying.
- 48:18Speaker 2: He said he would see you again on Monday.
- 48:23Speaker 1: I know you do. Unlike Chuck. We're going to run
- 48:27Speaker 1: down our community calendar here in just a minute. Also,
- 48:31Speaker 1: Test Taylor is is going to be joining us UH
- 48:34Speaker 1: to talk about some of the warming shelters. One of
- 48:39Speaker 1: the things that that I wanted to ask you about.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Are you familiar with this new trend of hot take dating. Yes,
- 48:53Speaker 1: I am.
- 48:54Speaker 2: You sent me a whole thing and then I did
- 48:56Speaker 2: some research afterwards on it.
- 48:58Speaker 1: Why don't you take the wheel off?
- 49:00Speaker 2: This weird?
- 49:01Speaker 1: It's really weird.
- 49:02Speaker 2: This, you know, I don't know how I feel about it.
- 49:06Speaker 2: I haven't given a lot of process to it. Yeah,
- 49:09Speaker 2: because I don't date. But it's it's a new trend
- 49:14Speaker 2: that's going on with younger people. Yes, and what it
- 49:17Speaker 2: is instead of doing the and it sounds ideal when
- 49:20Speaker 2: I say it like this, but there's flip sides to it.
- 49:23Speaker 2: Instead of doing the niceties and the awkward conversations and
- 49:28Speaker 2: all that when you first meet, and later on you
- 49:32Speaker 2: start finding out their quirks and things they like.
- 49:35Speaker 1: Don't like, whatever.
- 49:37Speaker 2: This is a new trend where when they meet for
- 49:39Speaker 2: the first time, they unload their baggage right off.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Right off.
- 49:44Speaker 2: They're like, listen, I just want you to know right now,
- 49:46Speaker 2: if you're a Republican.
- 49:47Speaker 1: I don't want to date you.
- 49:49Speaker 2: And I believe in the death penalty, and I also
- 49:52Speaker 2: believe that if you rob my house, I have the
- 49:55Speaker 2: right to kill you, even if you run off my
- 49:57Speaker 2: pop and people can then judge is this the kind
- 50:00Speaker 2: of person with these dislikes or these baggage that I
- 50:05Speaker 2: want to be with?
- 50:06Speaker 1: Right And both sides do it.
- 50:08Speaker 2: At the end, they either say want to see each
- 50:10Speaker 2: other again or they just leave and never see each
- 50:13Speaker 2: other again.
- 50:14Speaker 1: And I get that theory, but.
- 50:18Speaker 2: You don't start something good with a negative, you know
- 50:22Speaker 2: what I mean, You just don't and unbearing your whole
- 50:28Speaker 2: soul on every little quirk of yours. Number one, It
- 50:33Speaker 2: leaves the mystery out for learning each other over periods
- 50:35Speaker 2: of time. Thank you and number two, it kind of
- 50:38Speaker 2: makes you look like a douche from day one. Yes,
- 50:42Speaker 2: because if you've got I mean, everybody's got quirks, and
- 50:46Speaker 2: usually some of those quirks you work through during the relationship.
- 50:50Speaker 2: You love the person and then you find out this
- 50:52Speaker 2: person strictly Democrat and hates Republicans, so you work through
- 50:57Speaker 2: that together as a couple, instead of putting all these
- 50:59Speaker 2: as bat is and saying, okay, horse, do you want
- 51:02Speaker 2: to jump this barrier now or do you want to
- 51:05Speaker 2: just keep trotting along?
- 51:07Speaker 1: Right? I just don't. I don't know.
- 51:09Speaker 2: I think something should start off nice. Bad dates are
- 51:12Speaker 2: out there anyway, Why make it worse?
- 51:14Speaker 1: Like I'm just these are people that are getting together
- 51:19Speaker 1: on their first date, right and right, immediately earing out everything,
- 51:24Speaker 1: going for the jugular right? Right? What what did you
- 51:28Speaker 1: deal when you were five years old?
- 51:30Speaker 2: That was horrible?
- 51:30Speaker 1: Right?
- 51:31Speaker 2: And I hate haircuts like the one you're wearing right now,
- 51:33Speaker 2: and you'd have to grow your hair.
- 51:35Speaker 1: You typically wear a shirt like that, right, so wrinkled? Right?
- 51:39Speaker 2: And how do you tip when you're at at a restaurant?
- 51:41Speaker 1: Do you realize that your breath is bad? Right?
- 51:45Speaker 2: What size are you down? There, you know all these
- 51:50Speaker 2: certain things. You know, everybody's entitled to their own secrets.
- 51:53Speaker 2: And let's be honest. Let's say which I'm not. I'm
- 51:58Speaker 2: an independent, but let's say I'm die hard Democrat. Okay,
- 52:03Speaker 2: and I don't date Republicans. Well, if I didn't know
- 52:06Speaker 2: you were a Republican and we were dating, I may
- 52:09Speaker 2: learn things about your stand as a Republican that might
- 52:14Speaker 2: make sense to me, where instead of making a terrible thing,
- 52:17Speaker 2: you can use it as a learning thing.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Okay.
- 52:20Speaker 2: So I was a die hard Republican for years and
- 52:24Speaker 2: then I switched to Democrat. I definitely have strengths when
- 52:27Speaker 2: it comes to Republican platforms, and there are definitely strengths
- 52:31Speaker 2: on Democratic platforms, but they're also negatives on both. So
- 52:35Speaker 2: I stay independent and see which sound bites are going
- 52:39Speaker 2: to make the most sense to my morals. Well, if
- 52:42Speaker 2: I'm throwing that out that you're a Republicans or you're trash,
- 52:48Speaker 2: then I haven't gotten a chance to know the person themselves.
- 52:51Speaker 2: And if one little flaw is the end of the relationship,
- 52:55Speaker 2: well then trust me, every relationship is going to have
- 52:57Speaker 2: an end because floors are built in anyway, why highlight
- 53:03Speaker 2: them from the get go.
- 53:04Speaker 1: This woman on the monitor right now, I think that
- 53:08Speaker 1: she's saying, if you look, you'll see her. This is
- 53:12Speaker 1: what she's saying right now. Are you telling me that
- 53:16Speaker 1: we're just gonna go in there and take greenland? This
- 53:19Speaker 1: is a first date. By the way, what's he saying?
- 53:23Speaker 2: He's literally looking at saying, we're not even talking about that.
- 53:27Speaker 1: You don't even know how to stay on top out.
- 53:29Speaker 1: You said it. No, I heard you say it. You
- 53:33Speaker 1: know I love your feast, and let's go back to
- 53:35Speaker 1: my place. Are you? Are you suggesting that when do
- 53:42Speaker 1: we go back to your place, that I have to
- 53:44Speaker 1: take all my clothes off. You can do it with
- 53:46Speaker 1: your blaw on.
- 53:53Speaker 2: Well, yeah, that's I just think that's silly. You know
- 53:59Speaker 2: this younger ja, I'm gonna say it, This younger generation
- 54:03Speaker 2: has to rewrite everything everything. They've rewritten everything that all
- 54:09Speaker 2: the older and the older older and the oldest oldest
- 54:13Speaker 2: have done all their lives. Yeah, and they hey, why
- 54:17Speaker 2: open a dictionary and see real words? Where now there
- 54:21Speaker 2: are emojis in the dictionary? Okay, I mean why certain
- 54:27Speaker 2: things are institutions? Are dictionaries an institution? You don't add
- 54:31Speaker 2: emojis an l because that's what you kids say now,
- 54:37Speaker 2: And we don't do everything that you kids want. We
- 54:40Speaker 2: don't do fast dating, Like look at these speed dating
- 54:44Speaker 2: How silly is that you get to sit for one
- 54:47Speaker 2: minute or two minutes and talk to the person.
- 54:49Speaker 1: Ah, then you move to the next one. But it's
- 54:52Speaker 1: not Apparently it's not possible for anyone to date and
- 54:58Speaker 1: or have a relationship with opposing political views. Apparently not
- 55:03Speaker 1: to them.
- 55:05Speaker 2: And Jed and I have opposing we're both independent, but
- 55:07Speaker 2: we have opposing views on things.
- 55:09Speaker 1: Apparently according to the surveys.
- 55:12Speaker 2: And he respects my opposing views and I tell him
- 55:15Speaker 2: he's wrong.
- 55:15Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, politics is at the forefront of the dator's mind.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Right when you go out on a blind date with
- 55:25Speaker 1: someone right away, you got to know, like where where
- 55:30Speaker 1: they stand, right and.
- 55:33Speaker 2: How much do they tell you is true? Because if
- 55:37Speaker 2: somebody hits you up with politics on your first date
- 55:41Speaker 2: and you believe in the the Biden administration, and you
- 55:46Speaker 2: believe in all these Obama administrations, all these things, okay,
- 55:51Speaker 2: and then they turn around and say, what's your politics?
- 55:53Speaker 2: As Biden was an asshole? Bah bah bah. You can
- 55:56Speaker 2: either fight with them or you can play this game
- 55:58Speaker 2: a while she's hot, maybe I can get are into bed.
- 56:00Speaker 2: So I'm going to say, you know, I kind of
- 56:02Speaker 2: stay neutral because Bob bob bah.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Well that's what that's what Chuck would be like.
- 56:06Speaker 2: He'd be like and then after he gets the piece
- 56:09Speaker 2: of meat, then he dis God's it or he deals
- 56:13Speaker 2: with it.
- 56:14Speaker 1: But that's what I'm saying.
- 56:15Speaker 2: It's just you know, if you're being that blunt to
- 56:19Speaker 2: somebody that you just met, are they being honest back
- 56:22Speaker 2: or they telling you what you want to hear? Because
- 56:24Speaker 2: not for nothing, and this is no disrespect to you men,
- 56:27Speaker 2: but men like to tell women what they want to hear.
- 56:30Speaker 1: Okay.
- 56:31Speaker 2: They tend to to yes, dear and okay because they
- 56:34Speaker 2: don't want to fight, okay. And where women stand their ground,
- 56:39Speaker 2: which I admire in women because they're like, you know what,
- 56:42Speaker 2: this is what I believe in. You're not going to change.
- 56:44Speaker 1: My mind there. And there are a few reasons why
- 56:50Speaker 1: this hot take dating trend is taking off right now.
- 56:56Speaker 1: According to the year in Swipe report, thirty seven percent
- 57:03Speaker 1: of singles say they find shared values essential for dating.
- 57:11Speaker 1: Thirty seven percent shared values, forty one percent say they
- 57:16Speaker 1: are unwilling to date someone with opposing political views.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Why that has nothing to do with anything else.
- 57:26Speaker 1: But you can date and and maybe have some great
- 57:30Speaker 1: you know, you can make a nice friend romantic times,
- 57:33Speaker 1: you know, and you're gonna have some good fights Tooh.
- 57:36Speaker 2: And like Chuck said, nobody wants to date their marror image. O.
- 57:41Speaker 1: That was That's a beautiful comment. And it's it's very true.
- 57:45Speaker 1: Who wants to date themselves? He says, that's kind of conceded. Yeah,
- 57:50Speaker 1: I mean, being different is what makes it fun interesting, right.
- 57:54Speaker 2: Jed and I are polar opposites. We are opposites on everything.
- 57:58Speaker 1: You and I are polari Well, we're kind.
- 58:02Speaker 2: Of similar on some things. But Jed and I are
- 58:04Speaker 2: really polar opposites.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Yeah, really are.
- 58:07Speaker 2: I mean we everything we do is completely two totally
- 58:11Speaker 2: different people. People look at us and if they spend
- 58:14Speaker 2: time with us, they're like, why are you two together?
- 58:16Speaker 1: And you've been together? You've been together for how long?
- 58:19Speaker 1: Thirty years? This year? Thirty years?
- 58:21Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's like, you know, but people ask, you know,
- 58:25Speaker 2: how can you I mean, my god, he's so quiet,
- 58:28Speaker 2: you're so talkative. You know, he doesn't like to argue.
- 58:30Speaker 2: You love to argue, you know, and I say, it
- 58:33Speaker 2: just works. And God bless Jed because he really puts
- 58:36Speaker 2: up with a lot more than I do. Because Jed,
- 58:39Speaker 2: because Jed has to deal with me when I get
- 58:41Speaker 2: angry or whatever the case may be, where Jed doesn't
- 58:44Speaker 2: get angry and he walks away from things. So we're
- 58:47Speaker 2: too totally opposite. And yes, you can ring the bell.
- 58:50Speaker 2: Dealing with me is can be challenging. Well, you know why,
- 58:56Speaker 2: And I'll tell you why. What people, I'll tell you why,
- 58:58Speaker 2: kim see if you're still watching, and you'll admit this.
- 59:02Speaker 2: It's hard to always be right. Okay, it's hard to
- 59:07Speaker 2: always be right, and I need to keep making Jed
- 59:09Speaker 2: understand that if I'm right, he can either be compliant
- 59:14Speaker 2: or wrong. Those are his options. Okay, so I'm right.
- 59:19Speaker 2: So either you comply with me and we move on,
- 59:22Speaker 2: or you just admit you wrong and you move on. Okay,
- 59:26Speaker 2: that's just the way it goes. What what do.
- 59:34Speaker 1: You say, No, just you just finishing with That's the
- 59:38Speaker 1: way it goes. That's the way it goes. Then taking
- 59:40Speaker 1: a sip of your drink micro yep, oh, God to us, listen,
- 59:49Speaker 1: this is a serious here, This is a great time
- 59:54Speaker 1: to talk about one of aired outs presenting sponsors FGB Theater. Yes,
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: people like you who are constantly complaining about the cold,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: go out to a movie in the cold.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: I'm gonna go ahead and use Netflix and HBO and
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: all that.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: Understand and no disrespect to that. But listen, go out
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: on a date. Get some hot popcorn with Cabot butter.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: They use Cabot butter at the Capitol Showplace and the Paramount.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: That's amazing. They do get some concessions. You can even
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: get alcohol at both theaters. Go sit in the dark
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: in the warmth, kick back, relax, hold the hand of
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: your dates or your wife or your husband or your partner.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: Enjoy a movie. And there's plenty of movies out there that,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: let's be honest, they kind of suck. Still though the
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: experience of going out in a movie or get grab
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: an FGB Theater's gift card right, give it to somebody. Yeah,
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: there's some great movies playing this weekend. Fgbtheaters dot com
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: for all of the listings and the showtimes and everything. Yeah,
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: and I'll.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: Tell you I would love to go to the movies,
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: But I'll tell you a little story. We went to
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: the movies with my son Masimo, and we went to
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: see I think it was Lord of the Rings when
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: it first came out way back when.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: And you say Lord of the Rings, yes, and hold on.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly exactly, yep, yep. That's how I felt about
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: it too. But we told Masimo, Masmo, you need to understand.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: If you're gonna sit near Dad, he's going to go
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: to sleep. Yes, And Masmo says, why because it's boring.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: I says no.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: When I go into a movie theater, the minute I
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: sit down and the lights go down before the credits start,
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: I'm out cold, and I usually wake up about five
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: minutes before the movie's over. It's I don't know why,
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: it's just something about a movie theater. So we sat
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: down to watch the movie, and at the end of
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: the movie, Masimo said, Dad, they didn't even start the
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: logo at the beginning, and you were out cold. I says,
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: I told you. He goes you didn't watch any of it.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: I says no, And that's why I don't go to
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: the movie theaters, because I literally would go there to sleep,
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: and the next time I go, I would have to
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: bring a blanket because I want to be comfortable.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: So for that, I'm going to stay home and.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: Wait till it comes out on HBO or Netflix or
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: Apple TV or and.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Watch Paramount and watch it with your fifteen electric blankets
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: and my dog. Thank you. Yeah, yeah, that's you know.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: Those fifteen blankets, the extra blankets and socks and everything
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: I got was from Sherlyn because I have been feeling
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: great lately, and Chauvelin came over with the sweetest care
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: package and she had so many goodies in it, including
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: the electric blanket that covers my back and my shoulders
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: and a full electric blanket to cover me. It was
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: just so sweet that she had bought that.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: I also want to yes, it was. I also want
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: to give a shout out to a few more sponsors here. Okay,
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: if you are if you've ever bought or sold a home,
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: you know that the experience can be very stressful and
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: very painful. Yep, it's a huge deal. It's probably buying
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: home and having a child and getting married right top three,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: right there, right, I think so yeah. I encourage you
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: to get in touch with Butcher Churchill, Dave Jamison, Linda Willatt,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: Richard Iby, Michael Calcanny, who am I forgetting John Beyondolillo
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: BCK real Estate four seven nine thirty three sixty six.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: No matter what your questions are, and you can stop it.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: You walk right in. Yep, they're here on North Main Street.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: Walk right in. Ask the question. They hear a lot
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: of dumb questions, right, doesn't matter what it is, how's
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: the market, what's the local market looking like? They'll answer
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: those questions right, and they will break it down so
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: that I'm just gonna say, like it is okay and
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: I'm serious, so that dumb asses like myself right will
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: understand right.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Agree, Well, I don't agree that you're a dumb ass.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: I think you're a moron, but not a dumb ass,
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: thank you so. But yes they do. And also if
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: you really really want to get the information from the market,
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: you can go to your realtors. Absolutely, and you can
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: also go to your mortgage brokers. Yes, because the mortgage
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: brokers will walk you through from A to Z. Yes,
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: the realtor is the one who's very, very knowledgeable in
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: the paperwork. Don't get me wrong, because I've worked for
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: realtors and their paperwork is.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: A macot going on and a lot.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: But they they are experts at what it is you're
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: looking for.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Yes. Agree, So yeah, I'm gonna give a ring right
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: now to test tailor who is standing by tests. Is
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: so such a wonderful person, right, This lady knows what's
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: going on with our homeless and with the cold here.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: A lot of the shelters are wide open for for
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: folks to come in, not just to maybe get something
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: warm or hot to eat or drink, but also just
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: to take some layers off, use the bathroom, stay for
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: a bit, stay for a little bit, and even grab
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: a cot and get some good rest. Yeah, test you
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: with me? Are you there? Tests? For some reason, I've
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: lost her. I thought I had her on the line.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: We'll see if we'll see if we can reconnect with you. Yeah,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: but she she has had the all of the shelters
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: listed that are open, and there's a good number of them.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: Of course, the very Congregational Church is one of them
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: that is open. Tests you with me, I.
- 1:06:36Speaker 5: Am, but I'm I'm just walking across the street here.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: Oh well, listen, first of all, yeah, before we say
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: another word, thank you for all that you do tests
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: to make to make sure that that make sure that
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: that people have a warm place to go if they
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: are not able to be housed.
- 1:07:00Speaker 5: Yeah, well, thank you for saying that. You know, this community,
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: I will always say, the very community is just people
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: step up and want to figure out how they can help,
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: so it makes it a lot easier.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: We've we've seen this cold snap coming for a little
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: while now.
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: Uh huh.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: It's extreme. I think we all know that. But we're
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: also Vermonors and we're we're well seasoned with this. This
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: is no surprise. We always get a couple of snaps
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: per winter. But when it comes to living outdoors, when
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: it comes to being homeless, that's that's a whole nother level.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: We have had a great tragedy here in our community
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: where a homeless individual literally froze to death on the
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: last snap that we had.
- 1:07:57Speaker 5: Mm hmm.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Totally tragic, and it's it's it's unacceptable on a couple
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: of different levels. We cannot have that.
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: Yes, I agree, and you know we're doing everything we
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: can and yeah, uh it's it's it's it is a
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: tough one.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: What tell me about the A couple of the churches here,
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: the very Congregational Church which is right here in town,
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: the Church of the Good Shepherd on Washington Street wide open,
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: am I.
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: Right, We're open either day and night, uh, through this
- 1:08:43Speaker 5: this cold shell, you know, cold spell. And we're getting
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: a ton of help from the other churches as well.
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: You know, we're physically doing it at our two churches,
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: but we're getting a lot of help from heading Methodists,
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: from the First Presbyterian, from the Unitarian, from Enough Ministries.
- 1:09:04Speaker 5: So it just feels really good and supported.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: Enough Ministries is huge. Dan Moulind and the rest of
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: his team over there, they always step up in a big,
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: big way to provide, to provide some warm warmth, some food,
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: some conversation, and just a reach out of a free
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: hot meal and really a damn good meal too. I mean,
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: you guys, you're you're, you're, you're guys and gals down
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: there in the in the kitchen over at the Good Shepherd. Wow. Wow,
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: they should have their own they should have their own
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: cooking show. I mean, they're really good.
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: It's funny. It's funny because I'm just like, I'm all
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: about the food.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: So you have you have over at the the Congregational Church.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: I understand there's twelve beds. We also have Good Shepherd.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: You guys have. I'm not sure how many how many
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: cots over there, but you've got you've got space, and
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: you'll make space if if you need to. And then
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: there's a over at the Unitarian Church. There's uh, that's
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: kind of a temporary location of my right.
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: Oh, I don't know about the Unitarian Church. I'm sorry.
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: Unitarian Church is Montpeelier's the Unitarian Church that's running running it.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: Yeah, Andrea Standard, Yeah, I'll put her. I'll put her
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: email address here in the comments if if folks need
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: to reach out, because it's not just Barry.
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: And also.
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: Capstone is running the emergency they're they're doing at the
- 1:10:58Speaker 5: city Hall basement in Montpelier.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:11:00Speaker 5: So there's two locations in month Hillier and one is
- 1:11:07Speaker 5: pretty much taking over from used to be they called
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: it the overflow shelter that was up on the hill
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: at the country club, okay, and now now that's down
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: at the Unitarian Church.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: And on on Fridays over at Saint Augustine on Barry
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: Street in Montpellier, Fridays only, they have shelter that is
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: opened between eleven and one pm. So that's going to
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: open up in about forty five minutes right, any anything
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: else that you can think of tests that that is
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: important and worthy of sharing here.
- 1:11:48Speaker 5: Yeah, it's just you know, checking in, you know with
- 1:11:51Speaker 5: people that you see if people are out, you know,
- 1:11:54Speaker 5: just say you got a place to day today and
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: you know, you know it doesn't have to be super
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: big thing. Just if do you have places stay to night?
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: Do you know that you can go to thirty five
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: Church Street? If you're in Barry, you can go to
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: thirty five chch Street. Brilliantly, my city manager came up with,
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: why don't we put it on the electronic road signs,
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: So so if you drive into Berry you'll see you know,
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: emergency overnight shelter on thirty five Church Streets. So so
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: you know, we're just trying every way possible to get
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: the word out. But I do you know, if you're
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: driving around or walking around in the evening and you
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: see something, just say you know, you got one place
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: to stay tonight and you know, just point them in
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: the direction. You know, nobody has to transport people or
- 1:12:47Speaker 5: have you know a confrontation or anything, just you know
- 1:12:52Speaker 5: it just it just might help.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: That's all great stuff. Yeah, if anyone needs to get
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: in touch with you to speak with you about anything.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: How do they do that?
- 1:13:06Speaker 5: You know? So I have my email is work email
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: is T t A y l o r at Barrycity
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: dot org. So T. Taylor at Berrycity dot org. And
- 1:13:19Speaker 5: if they can call me, you know, people can call
- 1:13:21Speaker 5: me eight oh two five two two seven eight eight.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: Okay, I'm putting I'm putting that in the comments here
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: as well, so folks can get in touch with you.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: But over at the Good Shepherd, we're open today.
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: We were open this morning and now other things are
- 1:13:42Speaker 5: open today, so people can go out and do whatever
- 1:13:45Speaker 5: they like, if they want to go to the library,
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: if they want to go to other places. And then
- 1:13:52Speaker 5: we will be open at seven tonight at the Unitarian Church.
- 1:13:56Speaker 5: See first at the Congregational Church seven pm through seven am.
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: And then, as luck would have it, because it's Saturday,
- 1:14:08Speaker 5: the unit the Congregational Church, they're right there and they
- 1:14:14Speaker 5: do a breakfast every Saturday morning, so people can just
- 1:14:18Speaker 5: hang out and have breakfast, and then when that's over
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: at ten again they can go out for the late
- 1:14:27Speaker 5: morning and early afternoon. Library closes at two, so then
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: at two o'clock we'll open up the basement of Good
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: Shepherd and just have a warming center like we we
- 1:14:39Speaker 5: have you know, had in the in the past, and
- 1:14:42Speaker 5: then or have in the morning. So we'll be open
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: in the afternoon from two to seven and then and
- 1:14:52Speaker 5: then we'll open up the emergency shelter with cots on
- 1:14:57Speaker 5: Saturday night, so again seven seven, and then Sunday, we're
- 1:15:02Speaker 5: just encouraging people, you know, go to a church service,
- 1:15:05Speaker 5: you know, or hang out in the back whatever, and
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: because because we're all busy, sure, but you know, it's
- 1:15:12Speaker 5: a it's a warm place to stay. And then after that,
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: Good Shepherd will be open the day, you know, for
- 1:15:19Speaker 5: for the whole day until we open up the emergency
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: shelter at night. So you know, because I was like,
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: it's still cold during the day, it's not just you know, sleeping.
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: So and you know, people already they're just saying they
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: really appreciate it. They appreciate knowing that they don't have
- 1:15:35Speaker 5: to figure it out, that they just know where to go.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: Listen, we both know these shelters save lives, especially on nights, like, uh,
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: we're going to have starting tonight and for the next
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: couple of nights and then throw in you know, quite
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: a bit of snow that we're going to be having
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: here from from now until like tuesday. You know that's
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: just listen. If somebody needs help, if they need a
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: warm place, if they need a contact number, you might
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: be the difference that is made between life or death
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: here and share this information as much as you can.
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: Please share it on your own Facebook page.
- 1:16:21Speaker 5: Yes, and you know two on one. Two on one
- 1:16:24Speaker 5: is the great go to to find out what's happening. Also,
- 1:16:30Speaker 5: you know, we make sure that they know what's happening
- 1:16:33Speaker 5: with us so they can point people in that direction.
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: Good stuff. Yeah, Test, thank you again.
- 1:16:41Speaker 5: Yeah, well, I want to thank you for just always
- 1:16:44Speaker 5: making sure this gets amplified. JD. I really appreciate it.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: We appreciate you, and stay in touch and I'll be
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: over there to share a cup of coffee with you
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: at some point real soon.
- 1:16:55Speaker 5: Oh good, I appreciate that. I would love to see that.
- 1:16:57Speaker 5: I would love to see you again.
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Thanks. Tests.
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: All right, take care?
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: All right? What's that very informative? Yeah, she's she is.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: I'm telling you, man, our city officials and folks like
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: Test Taylor, our city manager, they know, you know, we
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: got some big concerns with with cold like this and
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: we're going to do all we can to make a difference.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: Tomorrow morning, Saturday morning, Logan Loose is going to be
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: giving all of his predictions and insights to the games
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: that are being played. Yep, as we get ready to
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: set the stage for the Super Bowl, which is going
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: to be what February eighth, it's going to be amazing.
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: Tune in the Athletics Podcast right here where you are
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: now tomorrow morning, ten thirty. It's going to be incredible,
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: and keep keep a close watch on the page. You know,
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: things happening in our state, in our nation, in our world,
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: and let's just say not a whole lot of it
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: is wonderful, heartwarming news. Now, there's a lot of really
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: heavy stuff.
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: And yet there's things that just burn our asses.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: Yes, like going up to the drive through and hearing welcome,
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: It's just can I hank your order?
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: Yeah, things like that. Yeah, not a very cheery way
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: to start your morning. We're always I'm just saying you
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: get there and you're like can I help, You're like, yes,
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: could I get a book?
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: You got it? It's like, oh my god. The thing
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: about g on Fridays is we're always going to tell
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: you straight up. Yeah, how it is. But we're also
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: going to have some laughter with it, a whole lot
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: of laughter.
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: You know what burns my ass because clearly I've segued
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: into burns my ass? Yes, what burns my ass is
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: when people use the last of something and they don't
