- 0:28Speaker 3: be part of Bachelorette too, So we're gonna we're gonna
- 0:31Speaker 3: hear what's up with her, what's up with her life,
- 0:33Speaker 3: if she still watches the show, what she loved about

- 0:49Speaker 3: Hey.
- 0:49Speaker 1: I like your new background.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Where are you? Where are you going from?
- 0:52Speaker 3: This is my dining room, kitchen's over here, living room,
- 0:57Speaker 3: you know, just trying to change it up here she
- 0:59Speaker 3: has We've got she Oliver Oliver. Everybody, you don't age,
- 1:05Speaker 3: you don't don't.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Guys, stop it. I literally was trying to think back
- 1:10Speaker 4: to how old I was, and I was like, oh
- 1:11Speaker 4: my gosh, no, I can't. I can't even go that
- 1:13Speaker 4: far back.
- 1:16Speaker 3: I was trying to back to how old I was.
- 1:18Speaker 3: I love the way you put that.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I try to forget how old I am pretty much
- 1:22Speaker 1: daily and at my age, I do forget those things.
- 1:25Speaker 1: I forget where my car keys are, where my car is,
- 1:28Speaker 1: where I live.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Who I am?
- 1:29Speaker 4: How old is your youngest?
- 1:31Speaker 1: He is two and a half, he'll be three. Well,
- 1:34Speaker 1: I guess he's two and three quarters. He'll be three
- 1:35Speaker 1: in July.
- 1:36Speaker 4: Okay, so you win. You have the youngest child out
- 1:40Speaker 4: of all of us.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Isn't that crazy?
- 1:42Speaker 4: I'm sure out of me for next week.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I love it. You're born to be
- 1:50Speaker 1: a mom.
- 1:50Speaker 2: You're so.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I feel like you are just such a great personality
- 1:55Speaker 1: and demeanor and temperament and everything to be such a
- 1:58Speaker 1: great mom.
- 1:59Speaker 4: My kids might disagree with you.
- 2:04Speaker 3: No, So for those of you who do not remember,
- 2:08Speaker 3: Shannon was on the very first Bachelor season with me,
- 2:12Speaker 3: and we have remained friends since. She's actually come out
- 2:18Speaker 3: to Colorado with her family. I got to meet Did
- 2:20Speaker 3: I meet both boys?
- 2:21Speaker 1: Then?
- 2:22Speaker 3: Were they both born?
- 2:23Speaker 4: I just had Jack?
- 2:25Speaker 3: Okay? Yes, Okay, so we've stayed in touch, and as
- 2:30Speaker 3: I've said on here numerous times, I feel like the
- 2:33Speaker 3: connections to the people who have been on the show
- 2:36Speaker 3: are you know. I mean, obviously I met my husband
- 2:39Speaker 3: and that's pretty pretty amazing. But the connections that I
- 2:43Speaker 3: may have made with other people are you know, a
- 2:47Speaker 3: close second. And so that includes you obviously, Shannon. But
- 2:51Speaker 3: it's been a while. We haven't seen each other.
- 2:54Speaker 4: It's been way too long. So funny, you know, schools
- 2:57Speaker 4: have mystery readers and so you always like take your
- 3:00Speaker 4: kid's favorite books up there. Jack always wants me to
- 3:03Speaker 4: take that book that you gave him and you had
- 3:06Speaker 4: like the artists like draw picture, sign it. That's when
- 3:10Speaker 4: I was a boy. When I was a boy, I dreamed.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Is what it's called speakers Now send it? Yes, Oh
- 3:18Speaker 4: my gosh, it's funny. I send that to almost everyone. Bob,
- 3:20Speaker 4: I have to send it to you too. I don't
- 3:22Speaker 4: know if I if I sent you one, obviously.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Say I would say you didn't, because no one sends
- 3:28Speaker 1: me anything. As we've we've talked about this week. A
- 3:30Speaker 1: few times people come on the show and they were like,
- 3:32Speaker 1: you know, promoting their book, and Trista will go I
- 3:35Speaker 1: will tell you I read it. I love it. Thank
- 3:38Speaker 1: you so much for having sent it to me, autographed
- 3:41Speaker 1: with a five hundred dollars bill in it. And I'm like, well,
- 3:43Speaker 1: that's so weird because I I must have gotten left
- 3:46Speaker 1: off that mailing list again, got it?
- 3:49Speaker 3: No, I this is not my book. This is just
- 3:51Speaker 3: a book that I sent to Shannon when she had
- 3:53Speaker 3: Jack so very nice, so I need to send you
- 3:56Speaker 3: to you. It's amazing. But that makes me so happy
- 3:59Speaker 3: that he picks book.
- 4:00Speaker 4: I love it, loves it. I mean still so Bob,
- 4:05Speaker 4: your kids would love it too. They're like, it's the
- 4:07Speaker 4: perfect ages for this book.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I would.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Love that they you know, I would love to have
- 4:11Speaker 1: something to read them, given the fact that today this
- 4:14Speaker 1: is going to show the shortcomings of me as a dad.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Uh you know, my wife's out of town. So I
- 4:19Speaker 1: had to get the voice ready for school this morning.
- 4:21Speaker 1: And it's Show and Tell day, and it always goes
- 4:24Speaker 1: by the alphabet, you know, and so Grace and.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Says Daddy, today's end.
- 4:29Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh, okay, en, And I'm looking around
- 4:31Speaker 1: the house and I.
- 4:32Speaker 2: And I'm like, oh, here we go. Perfect.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I threw a box and Nilla wafers in his bag
- 4:37Speaker 1: and I go this, this is excellent.
- 4:39Speaker 2: It kills two birds with one stone.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Buddy. You take this in, you hold it up, and
- 4:43Speaker 1: then you give it out.
- 4:44Speaker 2: As your snack.
- 4:45Speaker 3: That's true. She's going to be a hero for the day.
- 4:49Speaker 2: This is how dad brains work.
- 4:50Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, I love it.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Either a fistful of Nichols or it's a Nilla.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Wafers Nickles, Well you mentioned it. Shannon was meant to
- 4:59Speaker 3: be a and has since after Jack had another boy.
- 5:03Speaker 3: She's a boy mom. But you do it so well
- 5:06Speaker 3: for anyone who wants another follow on Instagram. Follow Shannon
- 5:10Speaker 3: for all of her stuff, Like you not only work,
- 5:15Speaker 3: but you are like, go get her fundraiser. It seems
- 5:18Speaker 3: like either for school or community and super involved in
- 5:22Speaker 3: your school obviously mom and doing all the things at home.
- 5:26Speaker 3: How do you do it?
- 5:30Speaker 4: Asking me this and like behind my phone all I
- 5:33Speaker 4: see is like yellow and blue. It is a sea
- 5:36Speaker 4: of minions Cooper's birthday party. Like as a boy, I
- 5:41Speaker 4: wanted a girl, like I'm very girly all of everything,
- 5:45Speaker 4: gurly tea parties. And when I found out we were
- 5:48Speaker 4: pregnant with Jack, I actually cried. I cried sat tears
- 5:52Speaker 4: because he put the boy and not a girl, and
- 5:55Speaker 4: I'm like, I don't even the boy for me. I
- 5:59Speaker 4: got boys that let me indulge in all of my
- 6:02Speaker 4: party planning.
- 6:03Speaker 3: And they not.
- 6:05Speaker 4: Only let me indulge, but they embrace it. So Cooper's
- 6:07Speaker 4: turned into party diva. He like, so, Mom, what party
- 6:14Speaker 4: prep did you do last night? Granted, he's turning four
- 6:18Speaker 4: parties in a park and I feel like I should
- 6:21Speaker 4: have just rented out a venue at this point because
- 6:23Speaker 4: he keeps adding everything to it. We've got Minion's popsicles today,
- 6:27Speaker 4: he woke up and he was like, I want a
- 6:28Speaker 4: snowcone truck.
- 6:29Speaker 3: I'm like, we.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Already popsicles, we don't need a snowcone truck, and like,
- 6:34Speaker 4: but that would work on today, mom.
- 6:36Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh my god, I love that.
- 6:39Speaker 2: He said, what party prep have you done?
- 6:41Speaker 3: Mom?
- 6:41Speaker 2: Let's talk.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Not my mom, No, Mom, it's like, what did you
- 6:47Speaker 4: do last night for my party?
- 6:51Speaker 1: A little notebook? You know, Mom, I'm going over my
- 6:53Speaker 1: notes and the party prep seems to be lacking this year.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Uh that's funny, Yeah, yeah, that's awesome.
- 7:01Speaker 2: You know, my my my wife is a boy mom. Also,
- 7:05Speaker 2: of course, we have two boys.
- 7:07Speaker 1: And we're five and two and a half are the ages,
- 7:12Speaker 1: and she's kind of you know, I think I think
- 7:15Speaker 1: it sort of comes with the territory for people, because
- 7:18Speaker 1: you know, you you and she have very like similar
- 7:20Speaker 1: you know, very organized and very well like everything's put together,
- 7:25Speaker 1: and you know, just very sweet and kind people, and
- 7:27Speaker 1: so she is always.
- 7:28Speaker 2: On the party uh planning tip as well.
- 7:32Speaker 1: So that's why I felt like such a loser today
- 7:34Speaker 1: when I was like getting him ready for school and
- 7:35Speaker 1: I'm like, my wife would have had like a duffel
- 7:37Speaker 1: bag full of accouterments, and on snack day it would
- 7:41Speaker 1: not have been the show and tell item also being
- 7:44Speaker 1: dispersed as a snack. It would have been like, you know,
- 7:46Speaker 1: I don't know, it would have been nutella. If that's
- 7:49Speaker 1: even allowed in a school. I don't know, because I'm
- 7:50Speaker 1: a dad, right, but if it.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Were not, probably not. It's something with any newt in it,
- 7:56Speaker 2: So not.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Yes, Okay, So Shannon, you mentioned that you're you know,
- 8:11Speaker 3: a girly girl, and what I remember and I want
- 8:15Speaker 3: you to share one of your favorite memories from the Bachelor,
- 8:19Speaker 3: But one of the big things that I remember is
- 8:23Speaker 3: being in the living room of the Bachelor. I guess
- 8:27Speaker 3: the mansion that we lived in. It wasn't the mansion
- 8:30Speaker 3: that they have now, of course, but when we had
- 8:33Speaker 3: that and we got the date box. Back then it
- 8:36Speaker 3: was a date box, right, And we got a box
- 8:39Speaker 3: and all of us are huddled around this velvet, this
- 8:46Speaker 3: beautiful velvet. I don't I don't know if it was
- 8:47Speaker 3: a box or an envelope at this point, but it
- 8:50Speaker 3: had an HW on it and everyone is like, hwhw.
- 8:54Speaker 3: And I was like Harry starting, I'm figured it out,
- 8:58Speaker 3: and I was like, oh my gosh, who's going on
- 9:00Speaker 3: a date that revolves around Harry Winston? Ama Shannon. She
- 9:04Speaker 3: got the very first of anyone of anyone on a
- 9:07Speaker 3: franchise princess date. So amazing. That was one of my
- 9:12Speaker 3: favorite like memories, and of course I was super jealous.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Everyone was fair. That was an amazing date. And I think,
- 9:21Speaker 4: like you, and to come from such a different place
- 9:24Speaker 4: because everything was brand new, like we never knew what
- 9:27Speaker 4: was next. We literally had no clue and like you said,
- 9:31Speaker 4: you know it used to be a box, like yes,
- 9:33Speaker 4: you I remember for my overnight date. I think when
- 9:36Speaker 4: there was four of us left. I got this huge
- 9:39Speaker 4: gold box and it was full of like fake snow
- 9:41Speaker 4: and ear muffs. Like that's how they told us what
- 9:44Speaker 4: we were going to do, and now they get like
- 9:47Speaker 4: it's totally different. But I kept that stuff for the
- 9:50Speaker 4: longest time. I think I finally got I still have it?
- 9:53Speaker 1: Do you?
- 9:54Speaker 4: I still have you? I have my Harry Winston box?
- 9:57Speaker 4: Because that was pretty amazing.
- 10:00Speaker 2: That's pretty awesome.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Where did you go you went to obviously you went
- 10:03Speaker 3: to Harry Winston, but didn't you get like dressed up
- 10:05Speaker 3: in dresses? Didn't you get to pick out a gown?
- 10:08Speaker 4: I think it was a scatta. I don't even know
- 10:10Speaker 4: if that's still in business.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yes, Oh it was so much fun. Okay,
- 10:15Speaker 3: So what was one of your favorite memories from the show.
- 10:20Speaker 4: I think, oh my gosh, I mean, to pick one
- 10:23Speaker 4: would be near impossible. But like you said, like it
- 10:26Speaker 4: was like we I don't even think, like now people
- 10:30Speaker 4: know what to expect, Like you have a total different
- 10:33Speaker 4: framework going into the show now than we did back then.
- 10:35Speaker 4: We didn't even know what was going to happen in
- 10:37Speaker 4: five minutes, let alone for the whole entire six weeks
- 10:40Speaker 4: that we were gone. I think is that we did
- 10:44Speaker 4: become friends in that environment. Now, I think it's easier
- 10:48Speaker 4: because they know the whole deal, Like the guy's gonna pick,
- 10:52Speaker 4: Like you are probably gonna go on Bachelor in Paradise
- 10:54Speaker 4: with most of the people in the house. You might
- 10:56Speaker 4: as well get to know them cause you're gonna have
- 10:58Speaker 4: be with them again.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Like none of that.
- 11:01Speaker 4: So the fact that all of us became friends and
- 11:04Speaker 4: stayed friends, I think says a lot that you know,
- 11:08Speaker 4: we really just in it for the guy. Back then,
- 11:10Speaker 4: you're not in it trying to get Instagram followers, trying
- 11:13Speaker 4: to get like some you know, product sponsorships. Gosh, can
- 11:17Speaker 4: you imagine if that was around back then, Trista, you'd
- 11:19Speaker 4: be like a billionaire.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I know, right, we would if you So when when
- 11:23Speaker 1: Sally Anne later went on to create Jersey Shore, and
- 11:27Speaker 1: I remember saying to her one time, I was like,
- 11:30Speaker 1: if you would have monetized us the way you monetized
- 11:33Speaker 1: the Jersey Shore people, we would all.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Be in a pretty good spot.
- 11:36Speaker 3: You know.
- 11:36Speaker 1: It was crazy, but yeah, you're absolutely right. No, there
- 11:40Speaker 1: was there was no social media back then. What would
- 11:42Speaker 1: we have done?
- 11:43Speaker 4: I mean, you know, and even the whole like remember, Trista,
- 11:47Speaker 4: do you remember this? Like we had a notebook and
- 11:50Speaker 4: we passed the notebook secretly around and everyone wrote their
- 11:53Speaker 4: phone numbers in it so we could Yes, I think
- 11:57Speaker 4: I still have that. Actually, ill to go.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, I want to see it.
- 12:02Speaker 4: So I remember afterwards like it was very weird. They're like,
- 12:05Speaker 4: you can't talk to anyone about this, like no one can,
- 12:08Speaker 4: and they threatened, like they threatened us to like our
- 12:12Speaker 4: lives ending if we told anyone. So I was there
- 12:15Speaker 4: to even tell my family, and I Trista and I
- 12:18Speaker 4: became friends, and I was like, I'm just going to
- 12:19Speaker 4: reach out to Trista.
- 12:20Speaker 3: I have her phone number.
- 12:21Speaker 4: No one knew I had her phone number, so I
- 12:24Speaker 4: called and I left a message on your answering machine
- 12:27Speaker 4: because we didn't even have help.
- 12:30Speaker 1: We are so, oh my gosh, you couldn't.
- 12:34Speaker 3: I I can picture it right now too, my answering machine.
- 12:39Speaker 3: That is so funny.
- 12:41Speaker 4: I think that maybe it was your mom or someone
- 12:45Speaker 4: her message and they told Legal that I had reached out,
- 12:50Speaker 4: and Legal called me and they were like, maybe it
- 12:52Speaker 4: wasn't your mom some somehow.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Like my mom wouldn't have done that.
- 12:55Speaker 4: But no, it wasn't your mom, but maybe they told
- 12:59Speaker 4: me was your mom, because you know how how that works,
- 13:02Speaker 4: so like we know, yeah, right, so they were threatening
- 13:08Speaker 4: me with legal action, and now I feel everyone to talk.
- 13:13Speaker 4: They want little spoilers to get out.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I know, I remember that that time was so different.
- 13:17Speaker 1: I mean I was right after you guys, and of course,
- 13:21Speaker 1: you know, I got a little bit of legal wrangling
- 13:24Speaker 1: for having a record deal. When I went on the show,
- 13:27Speaker 1: I already had a record deal. And now they bring
- 13:29Speaker 1: people on there and they're like, you know, Serenader with
- 13:32Speaker 1: your guitar, Jimmy and all these guys go on the
- 13:35Speaker 1: show and they're like all of a sudden, and I'm like,
- 13:38Speaker 1: I didn't even sing on the show, Like what are
- 13:39Speaker 1: guys talking about?
- 13:40Speaker 2: But it was crazy.
- 13:42Speaker 4: I didn't know you got in trouble for that or like.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, we'll talk.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Well you can talk offline about that one, but it
- 13:47Speaker 1: was major.
- 13:49Speaker 4: I have no Well that is it's a different, totally
- 13:54Speaker 4: different show, totally different.
- 13:57Speaker 1: With social they don't even take the phones away. Now
- 13:59Speaker 1: they want everyone posting, you know, if they're on a
- 14:02Speaker 1: group date and stuff like that.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Well, but I think I think they still take their
- 14:06Speaker 3: phones away, because I just read that Maria, who was
- 14:11Speaker 3: on Joey's season, this most recent one, she was asked
- 14:14Speaker 3: to be bachelorette and she one of her demands was
- 14:19Speaker 3: who knows if this is srue or not? Of course right,
- 14:21Speaker 3: So one of her demands supposedly was that she wanted
- 14:24Speaker 3: to keep her phone. So I know that they they
- 14:27Speaker 3: take away their phones, but what they do is they
- 14:30Speaker 3: give them or producers take pictures with their phones, or
- 14:33Speaker 3: they get like I don't know if they get like
- 14:36Speaker 3: some kind of like disposable or something like that where
- 14:39Speaker 3: they have them take pictures. I know, I know that much.
- 14:42Speaker 3: They definitely don't have their phones, but what they do
- 14:45Speaker 3: have is direct access to everybody who has an Instagram account,
- 14:49Speaker 3: because all you have to do is DM somebody and
- 14:52Speaker 3: you can read and you can look out. So we
- 14:54Speaker 3: had no way of getting in touch with each other
- 14:58Speaker 3: except for writing and in our little Oh my gosh,
- 15:06Speaker 3: that is hysterical. So do you think, Shannon, that you
- 15:10Speaker 3: would be able because I have been asked this question
- 15:13Speaker 3: if social media had been around back then, would I've
- 15:16Speaker 3: still done the show? And I don't know if I
- 15:18Speaker 3: would have because I am so super freaking sensitive that
- 15:22Speaker 3: I don't know that I could take all of the
- 15:25Speaker 3: judgment that strangers just like to spew, you know, what's up.
- 15:32Speaker 4: For the message boards? ABC used to have like chat boards,
- 15:37Speaker 4: and that broke me. And I can't remember's name. Shoot,
- 15:43Speaker 4: I'm totally blinking. I could have told you if I
- 15:45Speaker 4: wasn't trying to tell you. But anyway, I was like
- 15:48Speaker 4: taking me the airport. She was like, whatever you do,
- 15:50Speaker 4: just don't get online and don't read like message boards.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Just don't read them. She was like, stay away from them.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Of course, then I got home, like.
- 15:57Speaker 2: What's the best. That's what I did too. They're like,
- 16:01Speaker 2: don't look at the message boards.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I dove in beside, I didn't even know there was
- 16:04Speaker 1: a message.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Human worship you're going to do that?
- 16:08Speaker 1: And Shannon, if you're anything like like I know, Tristan,
- 16:10Speaker 1: I've had this conversation before. But you would see like
- 16:13Speaker 1: a million nice things, right, and you'd be like, oh,
- 16:16Speaker 1: that's nice, that's nice. Then one person would be like,
- 16:18Speaker 1: you know, I don't like her.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Banks, what are wrong with my banks?
- 16:21Speaker 1: You know? Or like for me it would be like
- 16:23Speaker 1: I don't like his laugh, What the hell was wrong
- 16:25Speaker 1: with my laugh. I can't change my laugh. I mean,
- 16:27Speaker 1: it was like I would obsess about the mean stuff
- 16:29Speaker 1: and not even recognize all the nice stuff, you know.
- 16:33Speaker 4: Yeah, one hundred percent, which is so sad. It's those
- 16:37Speaker 4: little tiny and then my caps were fat. I mean
- 16:40Speaker 4: just like it's like, okay, but you and now looking back, obviously,
- 16:44Speaker 4: like we were all a lot younger when we did this,
- 16:46Speaker 4: and that felt you felt it a lot more. I
- 16:51Speaker 4: don't know what else to say.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Older.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Now I have like a bigger reference point. I've got children,
- 16:55Speaker 4: like I feel differently about things in life than but
- 16:59Speaker 4: that was all I had back then.
- 17:03Speaker 1: And like you said before, there was nothing like it previously.
- 17:05Speaker 1: So it's the first time that someone I mean, I
- 17:08Speaker 1: remember having this conversation with a friend of mine who
- 17:12Speaker 1: was on was one of the executive editors of US Weekly,
- 17:15Speaker 1: and they would just do all these kind of like
- 17:17Speaker 1: what we would now call clickbait, right, but they would
- 17:19Speaker 1: like make statements on the cover and I'm back to
- 17:22Speaker 1: my normal life. You know. The show hasn't even aired yet,
- 17:24Speaker 1: and I'm like, you know, at Kroger and I'm like
- 17:27Speaker 1: seeing a cover of a magazine with my face on it,
- 17:30Speaker 1: and they're like saying mean things about me. I'm like,
- 17:31Speaker 1: what what's going on? You know, you weren't ready to
- 17:35Speaker 1: be plucked from obscurity and then all of a sudden
- 17:37Speaker 1: be someone who is being put under a magnifying glass
- 17:41Speaker 1: and just dissected.
- 17:42Speaker 2: By all these people behind a keyboard. You know, It's
- 17:44Speaker 2: just it was tough. You weren't prepared.
- 17:47Speaker 4: Yeah, and now girls have a problem with like something
- 17:49Speaker 4: that happens or the format of the show. I'm like,
- 17:51Speaker 4: well you should know better, like what are we on,
- 17:54Speaker 4: like season twenty eight or something.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Don't be stupid and don't act like you've never in
- 18:00Speaker 3: the show.
- 18:00Speaker 2: I didn't. I didn't know I was going to come
- 18:01Speaker 2: on and someone else.
- 18:03Speaker 3: But you're not going to do your research and actually
- 18:06Speaker 3: watch the show before, even if you've never watched it before.
- 18:09Speaker 3: You're not applying to be on the show if you've
- 18:10Speaker 3: never watched it before.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Absolutely Yeah. And you know the way it works too.
- 18:15Speaker 1: You know there's thirty people dating the same dude or
- 18:19Speaker 1: thirty guys dating.
- 18:20Speaker 2: The same girl for that first night.
- 18:21Speaker 1: It's like, come on, man, you know, and if you
- 18:24Speaker 1: can't handle it, but you know what, I think that's
- 18:26Speaker 1: a play too, though, Shannon.
- 18:27Speaker 2: I think a lot of these people go on the show.
- 18:29Speaker 1: And say that so they get the attention for it,
- 18:32Speaker 1: and then they you know, now they're like, okay, and
- 18:34Speaker 1: now now I've got something to you know, beat the
- 18:37Speaker 1: drum too. I'm the first one that said it, just
- 18:39Speaker 1: like the whole you know, I'm not here to make
- 18:40Speaker 1: friends thing became a thing right and it was like all.
- 18:44Speaker 2: It's like, what are you there for? Like what are
- 18:46Speaker 2: the right reasons they go on a dating game show?
- 18:48Speaker 1: I mean, you're there to potentially meet somebody, but ultimately,
- 18:53Speaker 1: wouldn't it be great to meet thirty people from across
- 18:55Speaker 1: the country that you would have never met otherwise?
- 18:58Speaker 2: Awesome?
- 18:58Speaker 4: I like, yeah, that's my favorite part from ours is
- 19:02Speaker 4: like us because we still have that. I still tell
- 19:05Speaker 4: a lot from the first season and I don't feel
- 19:09Speaker 4: I mean, now how many people have been on The Bachelor,
- 19:11Speaker 4: like eight million, because there's been so many, but someone
- 19:17Speaker 4: understood and you could never understand if you hadn't itself.
- 19:22Speaker 4: And so we had aized together, you know, like we
- 19:26Speaker 4: went through the situation that no one would get if
- 19:28Speaker 4: you hadn't done it. So I think that helped us
- 19:30Speaker 4: like bond together too, because we got it, like and
- 19:33Speaker 4: we got the mean messages and oh my gosh, like
- 19:38Speaker 4: all those auction like the Bachelor auctions that they would
- 19:42Speaker 4: do after the show. Yeah, well maybe you didn't because
- 19:46Speaker 4: you went right onto the Bachelorette. But for those of
- 19:48Speaker 4: us who weren't, like they would, like Chris Harrison's mom
- 19:52Speaker 4: even did one where you would go and someone would
- 19:55Speaker 4: pay a lot of money to this charity and then
- 19:57Speaker 4: y'all would go on like a group dinner together like
- 19:59Speaker 4: it wasn't any.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, right, did you do that?
- 20:04Speaker 1: Yes?
- 20:04Speaker 4: We I met a ton of people from the other
- 20:06Speaker 4: seasons after us, from those because they would do like us,
- 20:10Speaker 4: and then the second season us in the.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Third season, so that like and it put on by
- 20:16Speaker 3: ABC people, by the producers, like they would coordinate it.
- 20:20Speaker 4: It was put on by like charities people trying to
- 20:22Speaker 4: raise money.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, that's great. They should do that now. I mean,
- 20:28Speaker 3: the charities would make a whole lot of money if
- 20:30Speaker 3: they did that with all kinds of reality shows.
- 20:34Speaker 4: They'd make a lot more now than because there was
- 20:36Speaker 4: no way to really promote them before. It was just
- 20:39Speaker 4: like locals, you know, for the people who would write yeah.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Yeah, Oh my gosh, that's so funny. I mean, I
- 20:46Speaker 3: know that we had little reunions like Jesse Sinsak, I
- 20:49Speaker 3: feel like planned so many of those, and I feel
- 20:53Speaker 3: like we went to a couple right you did, didn't
- 20:57Speaker 3: you go?
- 20:57Speaker 1: Yeah? Right?
- 20:59Speaker 3: It was a Colorado RT your person rage right.
- 21:05Speaker 4: Yes, and we had the spa day and then the chef.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, wasn't there one on a cruise ship?
- 21:11Speaker 2: I remember there being one on a cruise ship that
- 21:13Speaker 2: I wanted to go on and I couldn't go.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Oh yeah, plenty of that.
- 21:16Speaker 4: I think there was.
- 21:16Speaker 3: I feel like multiple, yeah, right, Oh my gosh, that's
- 21:21Speaker 3: so yeah. Who do you still stay in touch with?
- 21:25Speaker 4: I had to like scan my brain. I'm like, Jesse,
- 21:27Speaker 4: who's Jesse?
- 21:28Speaker 3: I know, Jesse the honest person. Yeah.
- 21:33Speaker 4: I think he did one in Vegas.
- 21:35Speaker 2: We did well. The first one was in Vegas. I
- 21:38Speaker 2: remember the first one. That's when I met That's when
- 21:40Speaker 2: I met you, Shannon was.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I met everybody at that first one in Vegas at
- 21:44Speaker 1: the hard Rock you met.
- 21:47Speaker 3: She met you on my season?
- 21:49Speaker 2: Oh no, I know, but it.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Was this was while I was off the Bachelorette. But
- 21:54Speaker 1: the Bachelor your season of the wait. I was, oh,
- 21:57Speaker 1: that's right, I didn't even.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Because you were not you. We like, you weren't part
- 22:01Speaker 3: of Bachelor Nation until my season. So he doesn't remember
- 22:06Speaker 3: or has it watched it in a long time. They
- 22:08Speaker 3: let me, and I feel like they should still do
- 22:10Speaker 3: this to this day. This is like my biggest advice
- 22:13Speaker 3: to them is to have friends come in for the
- 22:17Speaker 3: lead and help them through it. So it was Sarah,
- 22:20Speaker 3: my best friend from college, mis see my best friend
- 22:22Speaker 3: from grad school Shannon, and oh gosh, who am I missing?
- 22:26Speaker 3: There was Oh no that it was just the three
- 22:28Speaker 3: of you guys, remember, then came in and got to
- 22:33Speaker 3: like pick out dates and hang out in the house. Right,
- 22:35Speaker 3: you guys, did you live in the house with the boys?
- 22:39Speaker 2: I don't think so, I feel they did.
- 22:42Speaker 1: We didn't know where they were because we I mean
- 22:45Speaker 1: I remember thinking, I remember thinking, I wonder where they
- 22:47Speaker 1: all went, because I thought we thought you went back
- 22:50Speaker 1: to download.
- 22:51Speaker 4: So late at night, and we were like, like you
- 22:54Speaker 4: were gone on a date, but we were there like
- 22:56Speaker 4: partying with the rest of the guys because something with
- 23:00Speaker 4: dog food.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Yeah, you know Jamie blythe Jamie Yeah, that was Oh
- 23:07Speaker 1: my god, that is the Faithful Night when Tricia the
- 23:09Speaker 1: faithful Night, I guess it would be when Trista came
- 23:12Speaker 1: home and was mad at me, and that was because
- 23:15Speaker 1: they made me. So we played the Sentry Club and
- 23:19Speaker 1: we were all doing one hundred shots of beer in
- 23:20Speaker 1: a hundred minutes, and Text threw his first can up
- 23:25Speaker 1: on the roof because we had that kind of like
- 23:27Speaker 1: weird roof, and so we all started throwing the cans
- 23:29Speaker 1: on the roof, and then as Trista's pulling up, they
- 23:32Speaker 1: come up to me. They throw an apron on me,
- 23:33Speaker 1: hand me a broom and a ladder, and they go,
- 23:35Speaker 1: you got to go on the roof and clean all
- 23:37Speaker 1: the cans up. I'm like I do, and I'm like, yeah, God,
- 23:39Speaker 1: I didn't throw any cansler. They're like, it's okay, you're
- 23:42Speaker 1: it was your idea for this party. So I go
- 23:43Speaker 1: on the roof. I'm sweeping cans off. I still have
- 23:47Speaker 1: on my bathing suit and apron, and Trista comes in
- 23:50Speaker 1: and she's like, hmm, why is it when I go
- 23:53Speaker 1: on a date and you and I'd been on a
- 23:55Speaker 1: group date with her. I come back and everyone was
- 23:58Speaker 1: like asleep and reading the Bible and I go on
- 24:00Speaker 1: a date without you and I come back and it's
- 24:02Speaker 1: a frat party gone sideways, and I'm.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Like, what what's going on here?
- 24:07Speaker 1: Like they totally set me up to take the fall.
- 24:11Speaker 2: I remember it.
- 24:12Speaker 3: I'm like, hey, no, I was not mad. I couldn't.
- 24:17Speaker 3: I couldn't have been mad at that.
- 24:18Speaker 1: You were you were you were giggling through it, and
- 24:20Speaker 1: that's why I knew, like I knew, you know, And
- 24:23Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, all right, I get it.
- 24:25Speaker 3: No, I wouldn't be mad at you for that. I'd
- 24:27Speaker 3: love And then when my friends got to come in
- 24:30Speaker 3: and actually like hang out with you, and give me
- 24:33Speaker 3: the scoop because they hung out with you. It wasn't
- 24:36Speaker 3: like at your house, you know. It wasn't like they
- 24:39Speaker 3: were coming in just being present at like a bar
- 24:43Speaker 3: that they had a date at. Like you guys got
- 24:45Speaker 3: to really truly like get to know them, which I love.
- 24:51Speaker 1: You know.
- 24:51Speaker 4: It was so interesting though. So we went in and
- 24:55Speaker 4: we legit like we interviewed every guy there well, and
- 24:58Speaker 4: we were like, we were like, We'resa's future husband. So
- 25:04Speaker 4: we we had big pow wows. We talked about all
- 25:08Speaker 4: the guys and we figured out the ones that we
- 25:10Speaker 4: wanted to go on, like the one on ones with you,
- 25:13Speaker 4: and then we went back and told the producers and
- 25:15Speaker 4: they're like like, no, you shouldn't send her with that one.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Yeah, do you remember who it was?
- 25:23Speaker 4: Oh? I mean that was like twenty years ago, so no,
- 25:27Speaker 4: I'm not remembering something that they said that he said
- 25:31Speaker 4: something while he was in the bathroom and they heard
- 25:34Speaker 4: it on his mic, like he was there to promote
- 25:37Speaker 4: his music career or something.
- 25:39Speaker 3: But we never do you remember that? Yeah, Greg, I'm sure.
- 25:46Speaker 4: Greg, Thank you, Bob. Yeah, So we were going to
- 25:50Speaker 4: pick him as one of your guys to go on
- 25:53Speaker 4: one time and.
- 25:54Speaker 3: They're like, uh huh, don't pick So he was the
- 25:57Speaker 3: one that went. We went to New York. I'm trying
- 25:59Speaker 3: to find a picture of the four of us. Was
- 26:02Speaker 3: one that was in New York a tiny, small apartment
- 26:08Speaker 3: and everyone like made a big deal out of it
- 26:11Speaker 3: when like, honestly, it wasn't like that big of a
- 26:13Speaker 3: deal because we were we were young, he was living
- 26:17Speaker 3: in New York, he was a musician, like whatever, It
- 26:20Speaker 3: was not a big deal. But of course they made
- 26:22Speaker 3: a huge deal out of it, and they were like, oh,
- 26:25Speaker 3: Trista has to have like more than a teeny tiny
- 26:28Speaker 3: apartment with the whatever I'm like, don't make me out
- 26:32Speaker 3: to be high maintenance when I'm not. Okay, this is
- 26:35Speaker 3: this was I don't know if you can see it,
- 26:39Speaker 3: but on my fortieth birthday. Remember look at that advice
- 26:44Speaker 3: look out that was during the show. And then this
- 26:51Speaker 3: was in my mansion. I think you guys came over
- 26:56Speaker 3: to the mansion the girls here it is, Yes, it
- 27:00Speaker 3: is in the mansion. Remember those like flowers that they
- 27:03Speaker 3: had everywhere? Look at the floors, do you remember the floors?
- 27:05Speaker 3: Did this bring you back?
- 27:06Speaker 1: Bob?
- 27:07Speaker 3: And like the red Belty, Oh my gosh, isn't that amazing?
- 27:14Speaker 3: And my big long hair extensions.
- 27:20Speaker 4: You like showed us your wardrobe and I was like Christa,
- 27:23Speaker 4: and it was of clothes.
- 27:27Speaker 3: It was amazing. And then they sold them. But we
- 27:31Speaker 3: don't have to talk about that anyway. So we've talked
- 27:39Speaker 3: enough about my season. I would love to know, like,
- 27:41Speaker 3: how how is life, how is justin? How is life
- 27:43Speaker 3: with the boys? What does your daily life look like?
- 27:47Speaker 3: And what are you up to?
- 27:50Speaker 4: It's honestly, it's so great. Like I joke about wanting
- 27:52Speaker 4: a girl so bad and being sad. But I was
- 27:54Speaker 4: meant to be a boy mom, Like these kids are
- 27:58Speaker 4: like they're my world. And and I think if I
- 28:01Speaker 4: had a girl, it would have been bad news, Like
- 28:04Speaker 4: I would have been like the worst helicopter mom over
- 28:06Speaker 4: a girl. But with the boys, you just have to
- 28:08Speaker 4: let them go. I mean, you have one of those.
- 28:11Speaker 4: So every kid is different, but boys are wild and
- 28:14Speaker 4: they need to be free, and that's probably better for me.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Otherwise I would be like right there like all the time. Yeah,
- 28:20Speaker 4: my boys, Oh bye, you stay here, we're going. But
- 28:24Speaker 4: it's great, Justin it's funny. So Ryan's out of town,
- 28:27Speaker 4: Bob's wives out of town, and Justin's out of town.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Oh that's funny.
- 28:32Speaker 3: They're all well, really good work. But yeah he's out
- 28:37Speaker 3: of the cops. Yes, we're all seeing with parents.
- 28:40Speaker 4: Yeah, all parenting. But it's great. We live in this
- 28:45Speaker 4: tiny little community that is like Pleasantville. It's just great.
- 28:49Speaker 4: Like there's I'm sure, like you were saying on social media.
- 28:52Speaker 4: We've got huge events for Easter and Halloween and Christmas,
- 28:56Speaker 4: I mean every holiday. And it's just great for me
- 29:00Speaker 4: to be somewhere where my kids can just like have
- 29:04Speaker 4: a place to just enjoy life. You know, I tell
- 29:08Speaker 4: him all the time, you only how lucky you are
- 29:10Speaker 4: to live here with all of this like fun. It's
- 29:13Speaker 4: just fun, like everything fun.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Is this the house that flooded and you fixed it
- 29:28Speaker 3: up because your house got demolished and the yes, what
- 29:32Speaker 3: was that like Harvey?
- 29:36Speaker 4: What year was it? That was probably six years ago
- 29:42Speaker 4: or seven. That was during Harvey. So we just had Jack.
- 29:45Speaker 4: He was like ten months old. We lived in a
- 29:47Speaker 4: little nineteen sixties like cute little house that we loved,
- 29:50Speaker 4: but it needed more space. Like the laundry room was
- 29:53Speaker 4: in a closet. I was like, I need like a
- 29:54Speaker 4: room like with a kid, you know, couldn't like for
- 29:57Speaker 4: us to do the clothes. So we were going to
- 29:59Speaker 4: add on a laundry room and then a room for
- 30:01Speaker 4: Jack on top of it. And we moved out on Monday.
- 30:05Speaker 4: Harvey hit Friday. Our househouse that we had just moved
- 30:09Speaker 4: out of, flooded that Saturday. The next day, our rental
- 30:12Speaker 4: house that we moved into flooded Wednesday. And then we
- 30:15Speaker 4: had a weekend cabin on a river like an hour south.
- 30:19Speaker 4: But all of the floodwater from Houston flooded down the river,
- 30:23Speaker 4: So then that house flooded the following friday. So we
- 30:25Speaker 4: had three houses flood in one week.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Stop it. I don't remember like all you were going through,
- 30:33Speaker 3: but that is so much, so much crazy. And Jack,
- 30:37Speaker 3: was you feel like it made your your marriage stronger?
- 30:40Speaker 3: Or did you guys stroll in those times? You honestly
- 30:45Speaker 3: like situations like that will make or break you. And
- 30:47Speaker 3: if we had only house flood.
- 30:50Speaker 4: We may not abade it. But we had three, and
- 30:52Speaker 4: we had to find somewhere to live, and we had
- 30:54Speaker 4: to like we were constantly like working on everything, and
- 30:58Speaker 4: so you just had to like put your head down.
- 31:00Speaker 4: And the hardest thing about that was my neighborhood over
- 31:04Speaker 4: ninety percent of the house is flooded because we back
- 31:07Speaker 4: up to it. By you were just like a bunch
- 31:09Speaker 4: of cold desat by you, and so just got to
- 31:13Speaker 4: the next neighborhood up they didn't flood, And so it's
- 31:16Speaker 4: like our world was turned upside down, but all of
- 31:19Speaker 4: your friends and everyone that you know just went back
- 31:22Speaker 4: to normal really quickly. That was the hardest part, was
- 31:27Speaker 4: like being in this like devastating place, but like just
- 31:32Speaker 4: if you literally went like five houses north of where
- 31:35Speaker 4: we are, everything was normal. So it was a rough
- 31:39Speaker 4: couple of years just with the newborn and trying to
- 31:42Speaker 4: figure out where to live. We moved. I think we
- 31:45Speaker 4: moved five or six times and three years.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Oh my goodness. Yeah, that place that the places that
- 31:52Speaker 3: flooded are no longer yours, like you you're completely yeah,
- 31:56Speaker 3: got it. I'm sorry. Just his internet just went out,
- 32:02Speaker 3: so I know, be back.
- 32:05Speaker 4: So this house like where this was, that's where our
- 32:07Speaker 4: house was, but it was completely totaled. So we had
- 32:10Speaker 4: the structure to do the add on. And he came
- 32:13Speaker 4: back after and our wood floors like they peaked up
- 32:16Speaker 4: when they swelled, but they also pushed out, so they
- 32:19Speaker 4: pushed our exterior walls off the slab and then all
- 32:23Speaker 4: the brick collapsed because there was nothing underneath to hold
- 32:26Speaker 4: the brick up.
- 32:27Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 32:29Speaker 4: Yeah, it was crazy.
- 32:31Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 32:31Speaker 3: So you completely like just leveled it and started over.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Yeah, we had he said, the head left was the slab.
- 32:38Speaker 4: But I'm like, if we're rebuilding, we're not building at
- 32:40Speaker 4: this level, Like we're gonna build up so where the
- 32:42Speaker 4: flood was just in case, and I don't think we'll
- 32:45Speaker 4: ever flood again. Harvey was just a crazy, crazy like
- 32:49Speaker 4: probably once in a lifetime storm, but if you've got
- 32:51Speaker 4: to spend redo it. We just built up.
- 32:55Speaker 3: But they're good.
- 32:55Speaker 4: Now.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Your home looks beautiful from where we are, and I'm
- 32:59Speaker 3: sure it's beautiful everywhere else with all of the Minion
- 33:02Speaker 3: stuff everywhere.
- 33:07Speaker 4: Like die if you saw what I see right now.
- 33:10Speaker 3: I love it. I love it. We actually had a
- 33:13Speaker 3: Minion party for Max when he was I don't know,
- 33:16Speaker 3: probably around Jack's age. So much fun, so much Okay.
- 33:21Speaker 4: That Denver, Like, how is Denver? I haven't moved?
- 33:27Speaker 3: Yeah, we did. So. Ryan was commuting from Vail to
- 33:31Speaker 3: Denver for three years, I think, and that you know
- 33:35Speaker 3: that drive because you've done it before, but it's like
- 33:37Speaker 3: a two hour drive and it was a lot. And
- 33:41Speaker 3: then Max asked he wanted to change schools just to
- 33:46Speaker 3: have an elevated academic and athletic experience. And we go
- 33:51Speaker 3: to a they're at a Christian school now and they've
- 33:54Speaker 3: got you know, the faith based stuff, which is really
- 33:58Speaker 3: kind of like makes my mom's heart just feel good
- 34:02Speaker 3: about the education they're getting because I've kind of failed
- 34:07Speaker 3: them as a as a Christian mom. I just, you know,
- 34:10Speaker 3: I don't know about you guys, but I grew up Catholic,
- 34:12Speaker 3: and I went to Sunday school every Sunday, right, and
- 34:17Speaker 3: and just learned a lot. Well, I just I didn't
- 34:20Speaker 3: do a lot of that for my kids. So the
- 34:22Speaker 3: fact that they're learning kind of more really about just
- 34:25Speaker 3: how to be a good person, you know, makes my
- 34:28Speaker 3: heart happy, makes me feel good place. So for a
- 34:33Speaker 3: lot of reasons. All of those. Plus Ryan's parents live
- 34:36Speaker 3: like five minutes away from us, and so we wanted
- 34:40Speaker 3: to be nearer them as they get a little bit older.
- 34:42Speaker 3: There's a great dance studio for Blakesley. Just lots of
- 34:45Speaker 3: opportunity and lots of targets. So that's good.
- 34:50Speaker 1: So you're shopping a lot.
- 34:51Speaker 3: That's good.
- 34:52Speaker 1: That's really good.
- 34:55Speaker 3: Yes, And the mall, I mean we didn't have those
- 34:58Speaker 3: in Vail.
- 34:59Speaker 4: No, I would forget like five minutes before I logged
- 35:02Speaker 4: in here.
- 35:11Speaker 2: It's in there.
- 35:12Speaker 3: It's an amazing convenience to have. So for lots of
- 35:16Speaker 3: good reasons. But yeah, it's going well. We of course
- 35:19Speaker 3: miss the mountains, but we're hoping to get back there
- 35:22Speaker 3: at some point and just you know, visit our friends
- 35:25Speaker 3: whenever we can. So yeah, it's good, it's good. I
- 35:28Speaker 3: have to visit. The next time you're coming through, make
- 35:31Speaker 3: sure you come. Just let me know if you're flying
- 35:33Speaker 3: into Denver, because I'd love to sk you, I know,
- 35:39Speaker 3: and I.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Expears to become a hotbed for bachelor people too.
- 35:42Speaker 3: True. Yes, there are a lot of people. Ben Higgins
- 35:45Speaker 3: is here. He's not in Denver proper anymore, but he's here.
- 35:49Speaker 3: And then Blake's uh Portsman I think is his last name.
- 35:54Speaker 3: He just had a baby. I heard with Gianna from
- 35:59Speaker 3: Organ from Love Is Blind. Have you guys watch that show?
- 36:04Speaker 1: Yes, I've never seen the show, but I've met Gannina
- 36:07Speaker 1: and Blake, so yeah.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Yeah, so there here I have I knowl Lace is here.
- 36:15Speaker 3: She just had a baby too late. Lace had a baby.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I saw her when she was pregnant. We
- 36:25Speaker 3: did this jewelry store like photo shoot thing and uh,
- 36:30Speaker 3: she was there and she was about ready to pop.
- 36:32Speaker 3: She looked beautiful. Yes, good. So do you still watch
- 36:37Speaker 3: the show, Shannon?
- 36:39Speaker 4: Of course? I mean, don't we all. It's like, once
- 36:43Speaker 4: you're in, you've gotta like just it's like you're in
- 36:46Speaker 4: for life.
- 36:49Speaker 3: That's how I feel.
- 36:50Speaker 1: I know that.
- 36:51Speaker 3: I know a lot of people don't feel that way.
- 36:52Speaker 3: But especially like this season, I feel like probably got
- 36:57Speaker 3: people back on on boat. Like Mollie Mesnik. She has
- 37:02Speaker 3: specifically said she met Joey at the Golden Wedding and
- 37:07Speaker 3: she watched her his season because she met him, and
- 37:11Speaker 3: then she's like, now I'm hooked, Like this was a
- 37:14Speaker 3: great season to get I meet.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Him at the I didn't meet Joey at the Golden Wedding.
- 37:19Speaker 3: I knew you were going to say that he he
- 37:21Speaker 3: will not let this go. Like literally, Shannon, did you
- 37:27Speaker 3: meet Joey at the Golden Wedding?
- 37:28Speaker 1: Because I didn't meet him.
- 37:30Speaker 4: I didn't. Yeah, we all everyone but you.
- 37:33Speaker 3: I almost didn't say it, like I was like, I
- 37:36Speaker 3: shouldn't even say it because he's just gonna be like.
- 37:41Speaker 1: It was just the best response ever though, Oh yeah,
- 37:44Speaker 1: we all met him. Yeah he's lovely, love him.
- 37:50Speaker 3: Dormy's my new favorite guy.
- 37:53Speaker 4: But what you were true, I feel like for a while,
- 37:56Speaker 4: like obviously in the beginning, none of us knew what
- 37:58Speaker 4: we were doing and we didn't know this show, and
- 38:00Speaker 4: they throw some but then it just went like off
- 38:04Speaker 4: the rails with like remember the Chicken Lover, Like no
- 38:08Speaker 4: nobody really even had jobs. Everybody was just and now
- 38:14Speaker 4: like all of these girls, especially on Joey's in the
- 38:17Speaker 4: last few seasons, it's kind of going back to that
- 38:19Speaker 4: where everyone remember Trista, like for our season you had
- 38:22Speaker 4: to they were looking for professionals, like with professor jobs
- 38:26Speaker 4: that had focused on their careers and not focused on love,
- 38:29Speaker 4: and then it just went the opposite end of that.
- 38:32Speaker 4: And now I feel like they're going back like everybody
- 38:34Speaker 4: was working and you know, normal, they had good jobs,
- 38:38Speaker 4: and you know, I feel like it went back the
- 38:41Speaker 4: basics a bit agreed.
- 38:43Speaker 1: I think that may have been influenced by The Golden Bachelor, though,
- 38:47Speaker 1: like Tristan and I talked about that, Like the one
- 38:49Speaker 1: thing about the Golden Bachelor was that it went back
- 38:51Speaker 1: to the basics exactly.
- 38:54Speaker 4: Okay, obviously we all watched that and you all went
- 38:57Speaker 4: to the wedding, some of us did.
- 38:59Speaker 3: That's that he was joking about it. He's he has
- 39:02Speaker 3: a vendetta still that he didn't get all.
- 39:05Speaker 1: I was invited and then they called me back and
- 39:08Speaker 1: they're like, actually, Bob, we have to cancel your imitation
- 39:11Speaker 1: because Trip does a plus three. I'm like, what, it's.
- 39:15Speaker 3: Not true, that's not true. Do you dream about my children.
- 39:19Speaker 1: I'm not, I'm not.
- 39:21Speaker 2: I'm totally teasing.
- 39:22Speaker 1: No, you know, I did not get invited to that one.
- 39:25Speaker 1: And but I love teasing Trista because you know, it'll
- 39:29Speaker 1: come up and she's like, oh, it was.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Such a great wedding.
- 39:32Speaker 1: But I but I will say this about the show
- 39:33Speaker 1: and I and I've said this a lot, I was
- 39:36Speaker 1: worried about the Golden Bachelor because I thought, given our
- 39:40Speaker 1: experiences and what we know, I thought they were going
- 39:43Speaker 1: to be like stunt casting, you know what I mean.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Like I thought they were going to throw a couple
- 39:46Speaker 1: of cougars in there to to mix it up. And
- 39:48Speaker 1: I was really not happy about it until I saw
- 39:50Speaker 1: the casting, and then I was so happy because it
- 39:53Speaker 1: was age appropriate and it wasn't sensationalized, and it wasn't
- 39:57Speaker 1: a bunch of you know, people coming in there just
- 39:59Speaker 1: to stir it up. And I really liked Gary and
- 40:02Speaker 1: I you know, I was happy about the whole thing,
- 40:04Speaker 1: and I think it got us back to the roots
- 40:06Speaker 1: of the show. And so I feel like for Joey's season,
- 40:10Speaker 1: I think that that was actually kind of awesome that
- 40:13Speaker 1: it was like, like Shannon said, a bunch of people
- 40:16Speaker 1: who had jobs and were focused on finding love. And
- 40:20Speaker 1: you know, I thought that was really cool. And I
- 40:22Speaker 1: think that Joey was a super nice guy, like I,
- 40:25Speaker 1: I liked him, and so yeah, I didn't get to
- 40:27Speaker 1: follow the whole season, but I was excited about the
- 40:30Speaker 1: bones of it that I knew going into it.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Yeah, and I.
- 40:35Speaker 4: Liked The Bachelor too because it's much older. They're more
- 40:39Speaker 4: mature than I was thinking they were going with. When
- 40:41Speaker 4: they just said they were looking for, you know, people
- 40:43Speaker 4: for this show, I thought they were talking about people
- 40:45Speaker 4: like my age, you know, like everything on Bachelor's like
- 40:49Speaker 4: mid twenties to thirties, but really mid twenties. So I
- 40:52Speaker 4: thought they were trying to get like to forties to fifties.
- 40:55Speaker 4: So I was happy where they went because then that I,
- 40:59Speaker 4: like you said, it just it worked, wasn't it, Like
- 41:02Speaker 4: the highest rated viewers. I feel like I read that somewhere, you.
- 41:09Speaker 3: Know, the viewership went up, that's for sure for a
- 41:11Speaker 3: Golden Bachelor. And my thought was I have always advocated
- 41:16Speaker 3: for producers to pluck someone out of obscurity instead of
- 41:22Speaker 3: pulling a lead from a previous show because they have
- 41:25Speaker 3: a certain number of followers or whatever. And then all
- 41:29Speaker 3: of us can fall in love with the person together.
- 41:32Speaker 3: And that was exactly what happened, and in the best
- 41:35Speaker 3: way possible, because of course everyone's going to root for Gary,
- 41:39Speaker 3: who has a heart, you know, so much heartbreak after
- 41:42Speaker 3: losing his wife, and all of these women who many
- 41:45Speaker 3: of them have lost you know, husbands or partners, and so, yeah,
- 41:51Speaker 3: I loved the show. Gary was exactly what I feel
- 41:56Speaker 3: like the franchise needed. And from what I hear there
- 42:00Speaker 3: Golden Bachelorette too, so I think. So I haven't heard
- 42:06Speaker 3: like anything about who they're going to have. I have
- 42:10Speaker 3: a couple of favorites that I would I would love
- 42:13Speaker 3: to see, but but yeah, that would be exciting because
- 42:18Speaker 3: I do think that people root for these people who
- 42:23Speaker 3: have been through so much and can offer so much
- 42:26Speaker 3: wisdom and knowledge from their experiences, and that they don't
- 42:32Speaker 3: care about the bullshit. You know, they're just no drama, please,
- 42:36Speaker 3: like just let us like meet people and actually get
- 42:41Speaker 3: back to like the real reason that the show was started.
- 42:45Speaker 3: And you know, if I started it because it was
- 42:47Speaker 3: a television show and he thought it would be sellatious,
- 42:49Speaker 3: then that's one thing. But I always felt from the
- 42:52Speaker 3: beginning that it was truly a story about finding love.
- 42:57Speaker 3: And I think that's they got back to that for
- 43:00Speaker 3: Golden Bachelor for sure.
- 43:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:02Speaker 1: I don't think of the same casting like they did
- 43:04Speaker 1: for Golden Bachelor for Golden Bachelor atte you know what
- 43:06Speaker 1: I mean. I hope there is about the casting.
- 43:08Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, And I love that they're ladies back because
- 43:12Speaker 4: think about it, like when we were at the end
- 43:13Speaker 4: of our shows, We've got no one, like there's no
- 43:16Speaker 4: one to talk to about the producers who are obviously
- 43:18Speaker 4: trying to make a show that is their job. So
- 43:21Speaker 4: even though they're your friends, like they're not. So I
- 43:24Speaker 4: love that they're Golden Bachelor women back. Like on Joey's
- 43:28Speaker 4: season to talk to the girls, I literally cried. I
- 43:32Speaker 4: got teary eyed thing to the final girls because you
- 43:36Speaker 4: could see those girls needed that they needed like a person,
- 43:40Speaker 4: like a figure to come in and just like give
- 43:43Speaker 4: them advice or listen to any questions or concerns that
- 43:46Speaker 4: they had. And I was like, this is so amazing
- 43:48Speaker 4: for these girls because we need that, like girls, like
- 43:51Speaker 4: we're always bouncing stuff off each other, and that was
- 43:53Speaker 4: one of the hardest things for ours is like we
- 43:56Speaker 4: were scared to deaths to talk to anyone, even each.
- 43:58Speaker 3: Other, right, you know it's true, It's so true. We
- 44:02Speaker 3: did really only had the producers and like the psychologists
- 44:06Speaker 3: to talk to afterwards, if anyone even used a psychologist,
- 44:10Speaker 3: you know.
- 44:12Speaker 4: Did y'all? I know, Tristan, I did. How long was
- 44:15Speaker 4: that psychology quiz that we had to take forever?
- 44:20Speaker 1: I remember it being a lot of pages. I think
- 44:22Speaker 1: they've gotten away from that over the last few years.
- 44:25Speaker 3: They must, until they kid it still have that because
- 44:34Speaker 3: they needed even more these days. I feel like, you know,
- 44:38Speaker 3: just getting into trouble with different contestants, and yeah, the
- 44:43Speaker 3: society is just so litigious or relatigonists or whatever that
- 44:47Speaker 3: word is.
- 44:49Speaker 2: I'm excited.
- 44:50Speaker 1: I'm excited for the Golden Bachelorette, now that you said that, Trista,
- 44:52Speaker 1: because honestly, it would make me so happy if they
- 44:56Speaker 1: bring a bunch of guys on there and they get
- 44:58Speaker 1: along the way that we got along in your season,
- 45:01Speaker 1: Because I mean, I honestly believe that that your season
- 45:06Speaker 1: was so great because you were obviously a wonderful lead
- 45:10Speaker 1: and the ending of course justifies everything. But we were
- 45:15Speaker 1: genuinely friends, Like I mean, I remember you know, I
- 45:19Speaker 1: filed this story a bunch, but I remember going places
- 45:21Speaker 1: and people would talk about Ryan and I'm like, uh, yeah,
- 45:24Speaker 1: Ryan was a professional football player, but no one knows
- 45:26Speaker 1: that he's the best athlete I've ever met in my life. Like,
- 45:28Speaker 1: but we all talked about each other like that, you
- 45:30Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like we were all you know,
- 45:32Speaker 1: and it was genuine And I would I would so
- 45:34Speaker 1: love to see that again. I would. I would. I'm
- 45:37Speaker 1: really excited for that. I hope they I hope they
- 45:39Speaker 1: casked the hell out of the shell.
- 45:41Speaker 2: I really do.
- 45:42Speaker 4: I agree, well, now that you bring that up thing
- 45:44Speaker 4: that like nowadays, I feel like they always put a
- 45:47Speaker 4: few people in there and they tell them just to
- 45:49Speaker 4: stir it up, like of course, same like Sydney this season.
- 45:54Speaker 4: I'm like Sydney just stopped like she's not doing anything bad,
- 45:57Speaker 4: and it was like it was just trying to make
- 45:59Speaker 4: something out of nothing. And I agree, like Trista, your guys,
- 46:02Speaker 4: like I don't feel like there was any of that,
- 46:04Speaker 4: Like there was no drama, just like everyone was there
- 46:07Speaker 4: to day they got along, you know, yes.
- 46:13Speaker 1: It was, And I can say honestly, like we really
- 46:17Speaker 1: and I and I I say we. I mean, I
- 46:19Speaker 1: guess the guys that I've cut in touch with over
- 46:22Speaker 1: the years genuinely wanted Trista to be happy, like so
- 46:26Speaker 1: it was you know, we would know, well, it's not us, God,
- 46:29Speaker 1: I hope it. Like I mean, I remember saying, I
- 46:31Speaker 1: hope it's Ryan, you know, because we like had our
- 46:33Speaker 1: little bunk beds in the same area, and like, you know,
- 46:36Speaker 1: he genuinely would be there writing stuff down in his
- 46:40Speaker 1: journal and it was like I loved it. You know,
- 46:43Speaker 1: it was poetry, but it was like it was like beautiful.
- 46:45Speaker 1: And I remember thinking to myself, like it's got to
- 46:47Speaker 1: be him, Like especially when I went home and I
- 46:49Speaker 1: knew who the final four guys were, and I was like, Okay,
- 46:53Speaker 1: it has to be Ryan, like please, it was Alert,
- 46:57Speaker 1: it was.
- 47:00Speaker 3: Shannon.
- 47:01Speaker 4: We could talk to.
- 47:01Speaker 1: You all day, all day.
- 47:03Speaker 3: All day.
- 47:05Speaker 4: I missed y'all. We need to read what we need
- 47:07Speaker 4: to do. We need to take over the audience like
- 47:10Speaker 4: at one of these final roses.
- 47:12Speaker 3: We need to get a great idea beat the whole Yes,
- 47:17Speaker 3: I have talked to Millsy, I have talked to Ben,
- 47:20Speaker 3: I've talked to all these people right about how we
- 47:22Speaker 3: need to have a readmion. We need to invite all
- 47:24Speaker 3: the people. Taking over the audience is a fantastic idea, Right,
- 47:30Speaker 3: I'm going to talk. I'm going to talk to them.
- 47:32Speaker 3: Oh that's so fun. That's a great idea.
- 47:38Speaker 2: It's probably a good.
- 47:39Speaker 1: Time considering my doors being beat down by my two
- 47:41Speaker 1: year old right now.
- 47:43Speaker 3: Okay, we'll go get Blake and Shannon. Love you and
- 47:47Speaker 3: thank you so much for coming on. Almost Famous. O
- 47:49Speaker 3: Jeeves
- 48:00Speaker 4: Another one on the label.
