- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to the Lake Debate.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Good evening and welcome to the Not So Late Debate.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I'm Liz Storer and I'm so glad you've joined us
- 0:12Speaker 2: this evening. And on my left and right you will
- 0:15Speaker 2: see mister Joe Hildebrand Gabriella.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Power joining us this evening.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Coming up tonight, we've got a cracker show. Our Sky
- 0:26Speaker 2: News favorite Nationals MP Keith Pitt is bidding farewell to Parliament.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Very sorry to see him go. He's one of the
- 0:34Speaker 2: good ones. Labour's new anti New Clear ad takes hysterics
- 0:40Speaker 2: to an all new high, claiming that nuclear power will
- 0:44Speaker 2: cause cancer, strokes and heart attacks.
- 0:48Speaker 1: This is not a joke. You've got to stick around
- 0:51Speaker 1: for this.
- 0:51Speaker 2: It'll be gracing your own screens. Shortly, an Environment Minister
- 0:56Speaker 2: Tanya Plivsk under fire for claiming that Late hasn't approved
- 1:01Speaker 2: any new coal mines. All that coming up, but first today,
- 1:07Speaker 2: the Victorian Liberal Party met in Parliament to decide whether
- 1:12Speaker 2: Moira Deeming's membership should be reinstated. You would be very
- 1:16Speaker 2: familiar with the story of Moira Deeming. She was attending
- 1:19Speaker 2: a rally in March of last year called Let Women Speak.
- 1:24Speaker 2: It was all to do with women's rights. The rally
- 1:28Speaker 2: was gate crash by a pile of nut job neo
- 1:31Speaker 2: Nazis and weirdly, literally without any foundation. The leader of
- 1:38Speaker 2: the Victorian Liberals, John Persudo, decided to penalize her by
- 1:45Speaker 2: kicking her out of the party, claiming that she had
- 1:48Speaker 2: something to do with these neo Nazis, that in fact,
- 1:51Speaker 2: she had Neo Nazi sympathies. As you will recall, also,
- 1:57Speaker 2: just a week ago, Moira won her case against John Pursuto,
- 2:02Speaker 2: with a judge ruling that there was absolutely no foundation
- 2:06Speaker 2: to these nonsense claims that she had anything to do
- 2:10Speaker 2: with the neo Nazis who had gate crashed a rally
- 2:13Speaker 2: she was attending.
- 2:15Speaker 1: And yet, would you believe it, the vote.
- 2:18Speaker 2: In the Victorian Liberal Party room to restore her membership
- 2:21Speaker 2: this morning did.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Not get up.
- 2:25Speaker 2: The vote was tied fourteen fourteen, and John Pursuto, talk
- 2:30Speaker 2: about a man who can't simply say sorry when he's
- 2:33Speaker 2: so comprehensibly been proven wrong.
- 2:36Speaker 1: He used his casting vote to.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Make it fifteen fourteen, therefore meaning Moiradeeming's membership will not
- 2:46Speaker 2: be restored to the Liberal Party. The Parliamentary Liberal Party,
- 2:50Speaker 2: Gabby I cannot believe this move.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I don't know how he even.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Got fourteen votes deciding No, you've just been told by
- 3:01Speaker 2: a judge you don't have a leg to stand on
- 3:03Speaker 2: John Persudo's costs. He's got to give More Redeeming, not
- 3:07Speaker 2: only three hundred thousand dollars, but he's got to couple
- 3:10Speaker 2: her legal fees. We're being told this bill could in
- 3:13Speaker 2: total come to about two million dollars.
- 3:16Speaker 3: We're going to come up with that.
- 3:18Speaker 4: But no, he's a dead man walking, and I'll be
- 3:20Speaker 4: so pleased to see him go. The way he's treated
- 3:22Speaker 4: More Redeeming has just been appalling. This is all John
- 3:25Speaker 4: Pursudo's falt. He started this entire sarga. He kicked her
- 3:28Speaker 4: out of the party, he lost in the court case
- 3:31Speaker 4: that was handed down last week.
- 3:33Speaker 3: He refused to apologize.
- 3:35Speaker 4: He's had every opportunity to make up for his mistakes,
- 3:39Speaker 4: to embrace her, to let her back in. And this
- 3:42Speaker 4: is clearly dispersonal. This is about his egos, about his pride.
- 3:45Speaker 4: He doesn't want to keep someone like more Redeeming at
- 3:48Speaker 4: her back in the party where she has just been.
- 3:51Speaker 4: She has shown true leadership every step of the way
- 3:54Speaker 4: throughout the last year, year and a half, however long
- 3:56Speaker 4: this has been dragging on for you know, as I
- 3:58Speaker 4: said that, the way she's been treated has just been appalling,
- 4:01Speaker 4: and she's shown to be such a strong leader. But
- 4:05Speaker 4: you know what John Pseudo is doing, it's just tearing
- 4:07Speaker 4: the Liberal party apart, which is not a good thing
- 4:09Speaker 4: for the Liberals when you've got a federal election coming
- 4:13Speaker 4: up just around the corner.
- 4:14Speaker 3: No, it's it's disgraceful.
- 4:16Speaker 2: And this will definitely play into that, Joe, because victorians
- 4:20Speaker 2: are watching this play out. If this is this is
- 4:24Speaker 2: a man who just should eat humble pie.
- 4:27Speaker 1: And yet I was astounded to find.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Out he's got that much support in the party room.
- 4:32Speaker 2: How many more people? What do they genuinely believe that
- 4:36Speaker 2: she does have neo Nazi sympathies?
- 4:38Speaker 1: Why else would you say no, even.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Now we are standing by that she shouldn't be allowed
- 4:45Speaker 2: back in, even that we know the premise on which
- 4:48Speaker 2: she was kicked out is entirely false.
- 4:51Speaker 5: Well, it's politics, so the facts have absolutely nothing to
- 4:53Speaker 5: do with it. It is all about positioning. It is all
- 4:55Speaker 5: about Perseudo's judgment. And again, every single step of the way,
- 5:01Speaker 5: he was given two choices and you know two roads,
- 5:05Speaker 5: one paved with gold with a beautiful rainbow at the
- 5:08Speaker 5: end of it, and another one through a dark and
- 5:10Speaker 5: spooky forest. And every single time he chose Plan B,
- 5:13Speaker 5: he gets it wrong, and got it wrong every single time.
- 5:17Speaker 5: He didn't need to even if he wanted to express
- 5:20Speaker 5: his admonition or whatever of more redeeming. He could have
- 5:23Speaker 5: made it known that he'd said that, you know that
- 5:26Speaker 5: he didn't share her views, or distanced himself from or
- 5:29Speaker 5: distance the actual party from her position, but let it
- 5:33Speaker 5: come into the front. He could have done that. The
- 5:36Speaker 5: thing is that in Victoria, obviously it is much more
- 5:39Speaker 5: is much more of a left wing state. John Pursudo
- 5:42Speaker 5: is from the moderate left faction of the Liberal Party.
- 5:45Speaker 5: More redeeming is from another. The moderates have the numbers
- 5:48Speaker 5: in the Victorian Liberal Party room. And so again he
- 5:52Speaker 5: could have easily taken a far less severe action than
- 5:54Speaker 5: actually kicking her out of the party. He overreacted. He
- 5:58Speaker 5: seemed to react emotionally. I don't know if you thought
- 6:00Speaker 5: he was getting all these trans votes off the Labor
- 6:02Speaker 5: Party that would otherwise have gone.
- 6:04Speaker 1: To Indeed, what does he think he's getting out of it?
- 6:07Speaker 5: It's very difficult to say. I think I think it
- 6:09Speaker 5: was just terrified of the Liberal Party being seen in
- 6:11Speaker 5: the era of Dan Andrews, of the Liberal Party being
- 6:14Speaker 5: seen as you know, reactionary or I don't.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Know, seen now.
- 6:20Speaker 5: And then then he goes to so then then more
- 6:25Speaker 5: Deminic takes legal action against him. So then he then
- 6:27Speaker 5: he basically defames her and says things that are not
- 6:31Speaker 5: not able to be verified and not true. And of
- 6:34Speaker 5: course again so he's he's sloppy with what he says.
- 6:37Speaker 5: His testimony to the trial was criticized by the drug judge.
- 6:41Speaker 5: But he's actually offered a chance to get out of
- 6:44Speaker 5: the court case that is facing him. I think she
- 6:46Speaker 5: offered to settle for something like eighty thousand bucks or
- 6:48Speaker 5: ninety thousand bucks, I forget what it was. He knocks
- 6:51Speaker 5: that back. He then goes to trial, goes to the court,
- 6:56Speaker 5: goes to the case Losers is up it for three
- 7:01Speaker 5: hundred thousand plus all the legal costs, God knows what
- 7:04Speaker 5: they are. And then again still doesn't get it. And
- 7:07Speaker 5: so we still still won't say sorry, still want to
- 7:10Speaker 5: know you could have said, right, okay, well that's it.
- 7:13Speaker 5: The law has made it clear. The just is, may
- 7:15Speaker 5: I respect the justice system more as welcome back to
- 7:17Speaker 5: the party. He doesn't do that. Instead, he goes around
- 7:20Speaker 5: and saying, oh, no, this isn't going to affect me
- 7:22Speaker 5: because I'm a fighter. I'm a fighter, which reminds me
- 7:24Speaker 5: of Margaret Thatcher's great quote, which is, if you.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Have to go around say their names in the same if.
- 7:30Speaker 5: You have to go around that is, you have to
- 7:32Speaker 5: go around telling people how strong you are, you're not
- 7:36Speaker 5: very sure correct. In other words, if you have to
- 7:38Speaker 5: tell people you're a fighter, you don't tell people you're
- 7:40Speaker 5: a fighter exactly. You just fight and you decam. So
- 7:43Speaker 5: he's stuffed up there and then right up until this vote, right,
- 7:47Speaker 5: so it's fourteen all. Now, this is actually not this
- 7:51Speaker 5: is actually a massive blow to his leadership because his
- 7:54Speaker 5: majority in the party room is supposed to be a
- 7:56Speaker 5: hell of a lot more than fourteen, and so this
- 7:59Speaker 5: means that whole bunch of his supporters are turning away
- 8:02Speaker 5: from him and going towards Maredeeming. Of course, by now
- 8:04Speaker 5: is just a trojan horse for anyone but Persudo for
- 8:08Speaker 5: screwing the leader. He's then got the fourteens vote, tied
- 8:12Speaker 5: his one chance to save his leadership is to use
- 8:16Speaker 5: his casting vote for a magnanimous gesture to say yes
- 8:21Speaker 5: on my own volition, with my own vote, my own
- 8:24Speaker 5: personal vote. I'm going to welcome Maradeeming back in the
- 8:27Speaker 5: Liberal Party, and this will create peace in our time
- 8:31Speaker 5: and we can now unite and focus on the one
- 8:34Speaker 5: threat that should matter to us all. And what does
- 8:40Speaker 5: he do? He votes against it? What does he think
- 8:43Speaker 5: he is going on? Fifteen fourteen? He thinks that's going
- 8:45Speaker 5: to be the end of the matter, votes against it,
- 8:48Speaker 5: even when clearly all the momentum is on her side.
- 8:51Speaker 5: You know, he shuts the tiny little shutters to the
- 8:53Speaker 5: tsunami that's coming towards him and thinks, I'll just go
- 8:55Speaker 5: back and watch it, Telly.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Now that's that.
- 8:57Speaker 5: And so again, every single step of the way, he
- 9:00Speaker 5: has made the absolute wrong decision, not based on any facts,
- 9:04Speaker 5: not even based on any morality, but based on his
- 9:06Speaker 5: own best interests. So his judgment is so poor he
- 9:11Speaker 5: is actually killing himself, killing his own leadership, as in
- 9:14Speaker 5: the part of his stubborn.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Would want such a man who has displayed such director
- 9:20Speaker 2: to be premiere of Victoria.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Goodness me, if there was any hope it.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Is gone, but rumor has it both the left and
- 9:29Speaker 2: the right of the Labor Party and Victoria are working
- 9:32Speaker 2: on a new leadership team.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Strength to their arm. Did I say liberal, you.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Said Labor Party and the Labor Party.
- 9:39Speaker 5: I'm also working on a new leadership team.
- 9:44Speaker 3: But yes, they.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Areship team in Victoria. Let's be honest, easy mistake to
- 9:49Speaker 2: make staying in Victoria.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Now.
- 9:52Speaker 2: A kindergarten has sent an email to parents saying we're
- 9:55Speaker 2: not having Mother's Day and Father's Day anymore and a
- 9:58Speaker 2: bid to be more inclusive. We're just going to have
- 10:01Speaker 2: one day and call it Family Day, because you know
- 10:05Speaker 2: it's really inclusive when you're excluding ninety seven percent of
- 10:09Speaker 2: the population. The email read, Thus, next year, we'll be
- 10:13Speaker 2: holding Family Day to honor all caregivers, all significant figures
- 10:16Speaker 2: in your children's lives. Children will be encouraged to express
- 10:20Speaker 2: gratitude and recognize those who play a supportive role in
- 10:23Speaker 2: their lives. We won't be holding titled celebrations like Mother's
- 10:28Speaker 2: Day or Father's Day, but we will have a fabulous
- 10:32Speaker 2: family Day celebration. I am so sick of this scaddy,
- 10:38Speaker 2: the erasure of mothers, fathers, anything gender specific. We saw
- 10:44Speaker 2: this in the bill that Parliament recently passed regarding anyone
- 10:48Speaker 2: under sixteen can't access social media.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Not one mention of parents in that entire bill.
- 10:56Speaker 2: We also know alban ezy ones universal daycare, give us
- 11:00Speaker 2: your kids and get back to work asap, ladies. I
- 11:03Speaker 2: really don't like what this government is doing. And the
- 11:08Speaker 2: early childhood Management Services in Victoria is.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Partly funded by the government. No surprises there.
- 11:15Speaker 2: In terms of this erasure across the board of mothers
- 11:19Speaker 2: and fathers.
- 11:20Speaker 3: It makes no sense as well.
- 11:21Speaker 4: So what the rest of Australia, the rest of the
- 11:23Speaker 4: world get to celebrate Mother's Day, Father's Day except these
- 11:26Speaker 4: kindergartens the then allowed to use the words mothers and fathers.
- 11:31Speaker 4: It's actually disrespectful, you know, being a mother, being a father.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Be probably one of them yet to become a mother,
- 11:37Speaker 4: but it would be one of the most It's the
- 11:40Speaker 4: most important job really in the world.
- 11:43Speaker 3: People. I have so much pride to raise children.
- 11:46Speaker 4: To have that taken away from you no longer allowed
- 11:48Speaker 4: to be even not allowed to mention the words mothers
- 11:51Speaker 4: and fathers.
- 11:52Speaker 3: What's next? They even going to get rid of Family Day.
- 11:54Speaker 4: It just seems like it's this slippery slope, and of
- 11:56Speaker 4: course it's coming from Melbourne. I feel like nearly every
- 11:58Speaker 4: one of these stories are we debate these issues.
- 12:01Speaker 5: It's cultural Marxism, the home of cultural markets.
- 12:05Speaker 1: It absolutely is.
- 12:06Speaker 5: But it's crazy. I mean to be honest, I think
- 12:09Speaker 5: the Mother's Day and Father's Day are a bit of
- 12:10Speaker 5: a wank. And you know, it's just an excuse to
- 12:13Speaker 5: do something.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Now, you'll change your minds when your kids rolled, you
- 12:16Speaker 2: can afford your presence.
- 12:18Speaker 1: My dad loves.
- 12:20Speaker 5: There, you go. It's just a waiting day. But again,
- 12:23Speaker 5: just the idea that someone would see this as something
- 12:27Speaker 5: that needs to be done just strikes me as someone
- 12:29Speaker 5: who just does not have enough real problems, Like the idea,
- 12:34Speaker 5: how can I make the world a better place? I
- 12:37Speaker 5: know I'll get rid of Mother's Day.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Deliberately enforcing ideology on three and.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Four year olds.
- 12:45Speaker 5: It is so ridiculous. And so there's there's now going
- 12:47Speaker 5: to be instead of Mother's Day and Father's Day, there's
- 12:49Speaker 5: going to be two family days. So hey, kids, it's
- 12:52Speaker 5: family Day the first and then.
- 12:58Speaker 2: They're just handing the one, just having the ones, so
- 13:01Speaker 2: they're harving the celebration.
- 13:04Speaker 5: And then so everyone else. So the kids are going
- 13:06Speaker 5: to go to their thing. It's going to be Mother's
- 13:09Speaker 5: Day everywhere else but at the at Thedergartens, but at
- 13:14Speaker 5: Eltham North, at s Heana Preschool, everyone's just going to go.
- 13:16Speaker 5: It's just nothing and what the kids want to get
- 13:19Speaker 5: your family.
- 13:20Speaker 2: What's also what's really galling is that over half of
- 13:26Speaker 2: the kindergartens that fall into the ECMS have already implemented this.
- 13:31Speaker 2: So this email by Saint Helen's has brought it to
- 13:35Speaker 2: everyone's attention Saint Helen.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Or I should say, has brought it to everyone's attention.
- 13:40Speaker 2: But ecms have come out and said, oh no, over
- 13:43Speaker 2: over fifty percent of our kindergartens, our preschools have done
- 13:47Speaker 2: this already.
- 13:48Speaker 1: That's even worse. What do you mean that this.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Is just something that you've rolled out whole sale on
- 13:55Speaker 2: little minds. Absolutely no talk about it to the parent,
- 14:00Speaker 2: who I'm sure hated. In fact, there have been plenty
- 14:03Speaker 2: taken into their socials to say, how dare you raise us?
- 14:07Speaker 2: I am my child's mother, I am my child's father.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Who the heck do you think you are taking our
- 14:13Speaker 2: day off us?
- 14:15Speaker 6: No?
- 14:16Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Also the grandmothers and the grandfathers that want to get
- 14:20Speaker 4: around this as well.
- 14:21Speaker 3: What they're not allowed to be part of it?
- 14:22Speaker 5: Well, interestingly, Saint Helena's, if I'm not mistaken, Saint Helena
- 14:27Speaker 5: was the mother of Constantine the Great, the first Christian
- 14:32Speaker 5: Roman emperor, so she was.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Very much f Elena would be robbing.
- 14:39Speaker 5: She is the one who went to Jerusalem and mapped
- 14:43Speaker 5: out the Via dollar Rosa. I think this is which
- 14:46Speaker 5: is meant to be the path that Jesus took with
- 14:50Speaker 5: the cross, which actually has no bearing on any historical
- 14:53Speaker 5: evidence whatsoever. It wasn't actually the right path, but she
- 14:55Speaker 5: just sort of walked around and said, oh, that looks nice.
- 14:57Speaker 3: I don't bet it went there.
- 14:58Speaker 5: And she's incredibly important to the Catholic Church as a mother,
- 15:06Speaker 5: but she doesn't get any Mother's Day.
- 15:08Speaker 1: It is just absolutely appalling.
- 15:10Speaker 2: This is where we are now in the name of inclusivity.
- 15:13Speaker 2: No mother's, no father's, the end of story, according to
- 15:18Speaker 2: the ECMS in Victoria, disgusting. But to the United States now,
- 15:24Speaker 2: where we told you last night about this ginormous omnibus bill,
- 15:28Speaker 2: the Dems are trying to get through the House. It's
- 15:31Speaker 2: just a month to the day now before the Trump
- 15:34Speaker 2: administration takes over in the White House and they're very nervous.
- 15:39Speaker 2: So they put together this fifteen hundred page omnibus bill
- 15:44Speaker 2: which had everything in it from funding for twelve biolabs,
- 15:49Speaker 2: refunding of the government's censor censorship agency, the GEC.
- 15:54Speaker 1: It stops the.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Trump's doj from investigating Congress. It gave the representatives a
- 16:01Speaker 2: forty percent pay rise, and I'm just getting started.
- 16:04Speaker 1: This thing was huge, but it was going to go through.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Until Elon mask tweeted on X his Scott Jennings telling
- 16:16Speaker 2: us about what ensued after Elon Musk hit send.
- 16:21Speaker 7: Yeah, he's very influential. I actually talked to a member
- 16:23Speaker 7: of Congress today about this whole situation, and he said
- 16:26Speaker 7: that when Musk sent out his tweet, the first tweet
- 16:29Speaker 7: about this whole deal, like.
- 16:31Speaker 1: He's never seen so much pork in his license.
- 16:33Speaker 7: Instantly, instantly, the phone started ringing in the congressional office
- 16:37Speaker 7: and people from the district started calling. And so that's
- 16:40Speaker 7: real power that, you know, the power to communicate and
- 16:43Speaker 7: then have it instantly translate into in that case, grassroots action.
- 16:47Speaker 7: So you can see why members of Congress are you know,
- 16:50Speaker 7: running around freaking out a little bit about about what's happening.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Elon mask has two hundred and seven million followers on
- 16:58Speaker 2: x so plenty of Americans were alerted to what the
- 17:01Speaker 2: Democrats were up to with this gigantic nonsense bill.
- 17:07Speaker 1: So this meant that it fell.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Over All the MPs were hearing from people saying, if
- 17:12Speaker 2: you pass this, we will get rid of you. So
- 17:15Speaker 2: the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, got busy very quickly.
- 17:20Speaker 2: He's a Trumper. He was also working with JD Vance,
- 17:23Speaker 2: now Vice President elect.
- 17:27Speaker 1: And check out this picture that.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Elon Namusk posted illustrating the size of the original bill
- 17:35Speaker 2: and what they had managed to do to.
- 17:37Speaker 1: It within a matter of.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Hours, that how much they had reduced it by and
- 17:45Speaker 2: yet did that pass. No, there were thirty eight Republicans
- 17:50Speaker 2: that turned on their own party. All the Gems opposed
- 17:53Speaker 2: it save for two, but that was predictable.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Here's JD.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Vance talking to the press just minutes after the new
- 18:00Speaker 2: and improved bill also failed.
- 18:04Speaker 8: The Democrats just voted to shut down the government even
- 18:08Speaker 8: though we had a clean cr because they didn't want
- 18:11Speaker 8: to give the president negotiating leverage during his first term
- 18:15Speaker 8: or during the first year of his new term and
- 18:17Speaker 8: number two, because they would rather shut down the government
- 18:22Speaker 8: and fight for global censorship. They've asked for a shutdown,
- 18:27Speaker 8: and I think that's exactly what they're doing.
- 18:30Speaker 2: They've managed to even turn this down, even though it
- 18:35Speaker 2: was largely all the things that they had wanted to
- 18:40Speaker 2: implement in the past. They simply did this to spite
- 18:45Speaker 2: the Republicans. And now they are absolutely losing it, saying
- 18:50Speaker 2: we are justified in doing this.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Read on a bill.
- 18:56Speaker 9: They signed it, and you know what, they got scared
- 19:03Speaker 9: because President Musk told them, rather than Musk said, don't
- 19:11Speaker 9: do it. Don't do it, shut the government down. Imagine
- 19:18Speaker 9: what does he know?
- 19:20Speaker 1: He knows a heck of a lot, lady.
- 19:22Speaker 2: And now all the Americans that you were trying to
- 19:24Speaker 2: pull this bill on know as well. But when I
- 19:27Speaker 2: say they're losing it, I mean they are really losing it.
- 19:32Speaker 6: Everybody agreed, and then it was blown up by Elon Musk,
- 19:36Speaker 6: who apparently has become the fourth branch of government. And
- 19:39Speaker 6: that's just an intolerable way of proceeding under representative democracy.
- 19:45Speaker 1: And the hysterics continue.
- 19:48Speaker 10: The Musk Johnson proposal is not serious, it's laughable, extreme maga.
- 19:57Speaker 10: Republicans are driving us to a government the shutdown.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Now, it may be disappointing that the bill didn't get up, Gabby,
- 20:05Speaker 2: but one thing I noted about this new and improved bill,
- 20:08Speaker 2: While it was massively reduced in terms of spending, it
- 20:13Speaker 2: was essentially exactly the same.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Yeah, So I'm a little bit confused on that. Oh.
- 20:19Speaker 4: I think they're all upset that they didn't get their
- 20:21Speaker 4: pay rise, I should say, because that was one of
- 20:23Speaker 4: the things that got cut out. But isn't it amazing
- 20:25Speaker 4: just to see fifteen hundred pages just get reduced to
- 20:28Speaker 4: just over one hundred and all the things that they
- 20:31Speaker 4: got that they got rid of, Kamala's electric bus program,
- 20:33Speaker 4: those twelve bio labs that you mentioned yesterday, the pay rises,
- 20:37Speaker 4: and now they're having a hissy fit. And I love
- 20:39Speaker 4: how they are hysterical about Elon Musk. They're so threatened
- 20:43Speaker 4: by him because what is the smartest guy possibly in
- 20:46Speaker 4: the world, and because.
- 20:47Speaker 2: They alerted people to what they were trying to do.
- 20:51Speaker 4: Incredible politicians are getting caught in the acts right now
- 20:54Speaker 4: because Elon Musk is just shining a spotlight onto what
- 20:57Speaker 4: they were actually doing. And it was amazing to see
- 20:59Speaker 4: how quickly this all played out from him posting that
- 21:03Speaker 4: on X and how quickly people were picking up the
- 21:05Speaker 4: phone and calling their representatives, and now this is what's
- 21:08Speaker 4: playing out. But you know, of course the Democrats had
- 21:10Speaker 4: to reject it, so they're essentially just voting against disaster
- 21:14Speaker 4: relief aid for farmers, and you know, because they didn't
- 21:17Speaker 4: have the pay rise in there, and they're mad and
- 21:20Speaker 4: they wanted someone to blame, and so instead of blaming themselves,
- 21:23Speaker 4: it's what Elon Musk's fault.
- 21:25Speaker 2: At least this way, Joe, it's the Dems that have
- 21:27Speaker 2: shut down the government, not the Republican.
- 21:30Speaker 5: So I remember the good old days, but it was
- 21:31Speaker 5: the Dems who were trying to keep the government open
- 21:33Speaker 5: and the Republicans trying to shut it down.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Forty eight hours ago.
- 21:38Speaker 5: Oh no, Barack Oba was president.
- 21:40Speaker 1: God love it then as well.
- 21:42Speaker 5: But the amazing thing is it's interesting that people are saying, well,
- 21:47Speaker 5: once Elon Musk tweeted, oh well, there was just nothing
- 21:50Speaker 5: we could do then, as though the matter was then
- 21:51Speaker 5: completely out of their hands. They're all in favor of
- 21:55Speaker 5: this bill. And I was about to die on a
- 21:57Speaker 5: ditch for it, and stand on a hill with my
- 21:59Speaker 5: American flag fluttering in the breeze. But then we started
- 22:01Speaker 5: getting phone calls, and so we had to just abandon
- 22:03Speaker 5: it completely. It's like, if there was actually any merit
- 22:06Speaker 5: in it, those phone calls as annoying as they may
- 22:09Speaker 5: have been, and the emails as annoying as they may
- 22:12Speaker 5: have been, and there are deliberate campaigns too, just bombard
- 22:15Speaker 5: MP's officers with emails and to basically just for the people. No,
- 22:20Speaker 5: that's right, that's fine, and they can be annoying. But
- 22:22Speaker 5: the idea that you then that suddenly that thing that
- 22:25Speaker 5: you were all in favor of is now suddenly a
- 22:29Speaker 5: terrible thing that you don't support anymore. Where's that written down?
- 22:33Speaker 5: If the bill was any good in the first place,
- 22:36Speaker 5: then then people said, oh no, that's not true. No
- 22:38Speaker 5: it's actually fine, you know rites, Oh no, there's no
- 22:41Speaker 5: way that's in there. And the way you go, it's
- 22:43Speaker 5: the faith that clearly this was such a turgid piece
- 22:46Speaker 5: of the proverbial that as soon as the slightest sort
- 22:50Speaker 5: of amount of light was shown on it, it just
- 22:52Speaker 5: it was literally just a giant, gleaming turd that no
- 22:55Speaker 5: one was able to defend and people just literally ran
- 22:57Speaker 5: away from it within minutes.
- 23:00Speaker 2: And it's very really exposed them because, as you said, Gabby,
- 23:03Speaker 2: everyone knows the bits that were taken out, So now
- 23:06Speaker 2: you know that is what you were really supporting.
- 23:10Speaker 4: They're upset that Americans now know the truth of what
- 23:13Speaker 4: was actually involved in what's actually involved in that spending bill.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Yeah, indeed, but you can't beat the view for hysterics
- 23:20Speaker 2: here they are talking about the fact.
- 23:22Speaker 11: That they believe that Musk and JD Vance are getting
- 23:27Speaker 11: together planning to bump Trump off and this is just
- 23:31Speaker 11: the beginning of their plans.
- 23:33Speaker 1: To take over. I think Eli must believes he is president.
- 23:39Speaker 1: I do. I've called him vice president. I called him
- 23:43Speaker 1: president because I don't know what JD is doing.
- 23:46Speaker 11: I hardly I don't.
- 23:47Speaker 1: I don't remember last time we even talked about JD.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Great, he's planning the presidency when he's going to get
- 23:52Speaker 2: rid of Trump.
- 23:53Speaker 1: So you think it's Musk, It must Advance possible.
- 23:59Speaker 9: Hey, you know stair away from the stairways, we put.
- 24:06Speaker 1: The laying out to tripping wall down a stairs. Watch out.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Now we've got Musk derangement syndrome. But last gone goes
- 24:16Speaker 2: to the Babylon b the satirical newspaper in the US.
- 24:21Speaker 1: He's taken a big.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Stab at the Dems, who are all upset over mass tweeting.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Dems explain they don't want billionaires controlling our media unless.
- 24:31Speaker 12: It's Bezos, Zuckerberg, Gates, Bloomberg, Buffett or Soros, because of
- 24:36Speaker 12: course all those guys are raging lefties staying in the States.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Now it's been revealed by some of.
- 24:44Speaker 2: The biggest Biden administration insiders.
- 24:48Speaker 1: We're talking about his aids, his donors.
- 24:52Speaker 2: They've spilled the tee to the Wall Street Journal saying
- 24:55Speaker 2: that in fact Biden's lack of mental acuity. They've been
- 25:00Speaker 2: covering it up since day one. Now, this was something
- 25:05Speaker 2: that was blown wide open by James O'Keefe, who you remember.
- 25:10Speaker 2: He is quite famous for these undercover videos where they
- 25:13Speaker 2: get someone of significance who usually thinks that they're on
- 25:17Speaker 2: a romantic date and plug them for info.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Here is Henry.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Appel, a National Security Council advisor inside the White House,
- 25:27Speaker 2: spilling the tea regarding Biden's very lacking mental acuity throughout
- 25:33Speaker 2: his tenure as president to what he thought was a
- 25:36Speaker 2: hot date.
- 25:38Speaker 8: Well, here's sueing.
- 25:40Speaker 13: Joe.
- 25:40Speaker 14: Biden is like, she's like really like progressed. I can't
- 25:55Speaker 14: believe it wasn't a bigger scandal player.
- 25:59Speaker 1: He went tells story.
- 26:00Speaker 2: He went on to tell stories of him himself, noticing
- 26:05Speaker 2: Biden's obvious decline throughout.
- 26:08Speaker 1: The years he's been president.
- 26:11Speaker 14: My boss was on an international show with him, like
- 26:15Speaker 14: you're up or something. The phone ring in office, and
- 26:19Speaker 14: I was like, welvi, President Henry.
- 26:23Speaker 15: He was like, he's like he's safe there.
- 26:24Speaker 14: He's like, oh, traveling with you.
- 26:29Speaker 7: He's on the same crypt you are.
- 26:32Speaker 1: And this was clearly an ongoing problem.
- 26:36Speaker 14: How weeks ago, I was like the last on an
- 26:39Speaker 14: office call from my boss yet, and so I picked
- 26:44Speaker 14: the phone and save this president Like Henry on phone,
- 26:49Speaker 14: he's up to the day, but I try to again him.
- 26:51Speaker 7: I was in line for you.
- 26:54Speaker 14: He like asked us a question and I was like,
- 26:55Speaker 14: I don't know, Like, let me get free. I sent
- 26:57Speaker 14: you did that's enough.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Police secret service detail.
- 27:01Speaker 14: I'll like, like ten seconds later again it's Henry.
- 27:16Speaker 2: The same, offers Wall Street Journal that, in fact, as
- 27:22Speaker 2: early as spring twenty twenty one, they were already readjusting
- 27:26Speaker 2: his schedule very regularly to account for his quote good
- 27:30Speaker 2: days and bad days end quote Gabby. It doesn't come
- 27:34Speaker 2: as a surprise to anyone who was paying any attention
- 27:38Speaker 2: over the last few years that this was always the case.
- 27:42Speaker 4: Absolutely, and it's one of the biggest political scandals that
- 27:45Speaker 4: you've got the president of the United States that hasn't
- 27:47Speaker 4: been mentally well for three years and there's just been
- 27:50Speaker 4: this protection racket around him, and the media has been
- 27:53Speaker 4: a big protection racket. They've been complicted in it, apart
- 27:55Speaker 4: from outlets like Sky News that have been calling it out.
- 27:58Speaker 4: So you've been watching us, you would have seen the
- 28:00Speaker 4: line in real time, which has been quite scary. But
- 28:02Speaker 4: some of the details, look, it's not fresh news. A hey,
- 28:05Speaker 4: he's got cognitive decline, but some of the details in
- 28:07Speaker 4: this is absolutely insane. That they do have to accommodate
- 28:11Speaker 4: for his good days his bad days. Some days you'd
- 28:14Speaker 4: have to finish at four pm. He just gets too tired.
- 28:16Speaker 4: Well we've seen that recently when he's fallen asleep on
- 28:19Speaker 4: the world stage. But he's just taken part in an
- 28:22Speaker 4: interview where he's asked about his presidency, and in true
- 28:26Speaker 4: Joe Biden's style, he says he has no regrets.
- 28:30Speaker 7: Any other regrets that you have anything you wish you
- 28:33Speaker 7: would have done differently, Well.
- 28:36Speaker 6: I guess if I thought a lot about it is
- 28:38Speaker 6: something I've done specifically, but not generically.
- 28:43Speaker 4: But we have been watching this in real time for years,
- 28:46Speaker 4: and it has been so embarrassing. Kamala Harris has been
- 28:49Speaker 4: complicit in this. I'd like to know who else was
- 28:51Speaker 4: around Joe Biden and why they were essentially lying to
- 28:55Speaker 4: the American people this whole time. Joe Biden, what have
- 28:57Speaker 4: you been doing this entire time? Lying to the people?
- 29:00Speaker 3: But this is back Joe Biden in twenty twenty. Take
- 29:04Speaker 3: a look.
- 29:05Speaker 14: We alle these shoots to be self evident.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Oh many women creative by go you know the you
- 29:11Speaker 3: know the thing, you know the thing. Here he is
- 29:15Speaker 3: in twenty twenty one.
- 29:17Speaker 1: If it holds near and dear to you that you.
- 29:21Speaker 7: Like to be able to.
- 29:24Speaker 4: Anyway, and here he is in twenty twenty two.
- 29:32Speaker 16: Erica is a nation that can be defined in a
- 29:34Speaker 16: single word.
- 29:36Speaker 5: I was gonn put him.
- 29:41Speaker 4: The evidence has been there from the start. It's been
- 29:45Speaker 4: so embarrassing for America. Who on earth was supporting him
- 29:49Speaker 4: right up until June?
- 29:50Speaker 5: You know, well, That's the thing. I can I can
- 29:52Speaker 5: actually believe it or not understand how you would need
- 29:56Speaker 5: to get Biden as a candidate, because you've stuffed up
- 29:59Speaker 5: your entire preselection process and you have you've just got
- 30:02Speaker 5: these crazy AOC green New Deal types on the left
- 30:05Speaker 5: who are unelectable, and then you've got the old sort
- 30:07Speaker 5: of dinosaur establishment and you haven't got anyone in the middle.
- 30:10Speaker 5: So they've stuck with Joe Biden as the candidate because
- 30:12Speaker 5: he's the only one that can beat Trump. Then it's
- 30:14Speaker 5: day one in the White House and you realize, holy crap,
- 30:16Speaker 5: this guy really does have dementia. What do we do?
- 30:19Speaker 5: I can actually understand thinking, all right, great, we're just
- 30:21Speaker 5: going to have to manage this. What is absolutely unforgivable
- 30:25Speaker 5: is that he was allowed to run again, that he
- 30:29Speaker 5: was allowed to say that he was going to go
- 30:32Speaker 5: for the presidency again. Immediately say absolutely no way. That
- 30:38Speaker 5: is the absolutely unforgivable thing that Democrat strategists or strategist
- 30:43Speaker 5: is just far too strong a word for whoever's in
- 30:45Speaker 5: charge there did and again it's just so unforgivable. And
- 30:50Speaker 5: as the and the fact that they stuffed it up
- 30:53Speaker 5: so much lived in denial thought they could fake it,
- 30:56Speaker 5: pull the ball over the American people's eyes. Then they're
- 30:58Speaker 5: stuck with Karmela who is the only candidate, probably as
- 31:02Speaker 5: bad as Joe Biden, and so they just dealt themselves.
- 31:06Speaker 5: I mean, how you deal yourself out of government. You've
- 31:08Speaker 5: got everything, You've got all the cards in your hands, aces, aces, aces.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Fail out in every front, and you manage to.
- 31:14Speaker 5: Just throw it all away. It is disgraceful. And anyone
- 31:18Speaker 5: who knows or cares anything about politics should just be
- 31:22Speaker 5: running this mob out of.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Town, throw it all the way.
- 31:25Speaker 2: While spending one point five billion dollars trying to win.
- 31:29Speaker 2: The woman, of course, was Kamala Harris, and apparently we
- 31:34Speaker 2: haven't seen the last of her. It sounds like a threat,
- 31:36Speaker 2: but that's what the Dems are telling us. Try this
- 31:39Speaker 2: on for size if you needed further proof that politics
- 31:42Speaker 2: is not a meritocracy. She's set to receive a whopping
- 31:46Speaker 2: twenty million dollars for a tell all book. They want
- 31:51Speaker 2: to know what are the skeletons in the White House,
- 31:55Speaker 2: in the Biden White House. Give us all the juice, lady,
- 31:59Speaker 2: she's the insider, she would know get this. According to
- 32:03Speaker 2: a Kamala insider. Virtually the moment Kamala lost to Trump,
- 32:07Speaker 2: the office began pouring in from the publishing world for
- 32:11Speaker 2: her to to do the definitive book on what really
- 32:14Speaker 2: went on between Joe and Kamala, what went right and
- 32:16Speaker 2: what went wrong inside.
- 32:18Speaker 5: The Oval Office Wall right chapter would pretty.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Sure and all the ups and downs of her campaign.
- 32:24Speaker 2: They are throwing around advanced numbers in the twenty million range,
- 32:29Speaker 2: maybe more.
- 32:30Speaker 1: With other publishing rights.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Other insiders from publishing houses are saying.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Look, it might even be more than that. There could
- 32:38Speaker 1: be a movie deal. There could be a.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Netflix deal, like the Obamas signed magazines.
- 32:43Speaker 1: There's going to be a lot of money in this
- 32:46Speaker 1: for Herbert Gabby.
- 32:47Speaker 2: She's going to have to hire a ghostwriter because if
- 32:50Speaker 2: that woman talks rights like.
- 32:53Speaker 1: She talks, it would just be uster gimberish.
- 32:55Speaker 3: The whole book will be I grew up a middle
- 32:57Speaker 3: class kid. Yeah, that will be it.
- 32:59Speaker 4: No, she's got a lot of explaining to do. So
- 33:01Speaker 4: she goes ahead and gets this book deal, and then
- 33:04Speaker 4: we get a book from her.
- 33:06Speaker 3: I'll absolutely read it, and I'd like to.
- 33:07Speaker 4: Know a little bit more what she couldn't explain throughout
- 33:10Speaker 4: the election campaign. What would she do on her first
- 33:13Speaker 4: day in the job. She couldn't answer that one, apart
- 33:15Speaker 4: from some opportunity economy whatever that was supposed to mean.
- 33:19Speaker 4: But there are a few questions that have gone unanswered.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Why did she lie about Joe Biden's cognitive decline? What
- 33:24Speaker 4: did she actually see? She's obviously never going to answer
- 33:27Speaker 4: any of this. No, Why did she choose Tim Waltz
- 33:30Speaker 4: to be her running role, the guy that's known for
- 33:34Speaker 4: putting tampons in men's bathrooms? Why did she choose him?
- 33:37Speaker 4: Did she regret that? Did she regret not going on
- 33:40Speaker 4: Joe Rogan? Does she regret spending one point five billion
- 33:42Speaker 4: dollars and losing a lot of questions? How awkward is
- 33:46Speaker 4: it between her and Joe Biden? Now it's quite clear
- 33:48Speaker 4: that Joe Biden absolutely hates.
- 33:50Speaker 2: That would all make a great book, Which is how
- 33:52Speaker 2: you know none of that would be in the book, Joe.
- 33:55Speaker 5: No, this is this is how I can almost I
- 33:57Speaker 5: can almost tell you in advance. It will be that
- 34:00Speaker 5: Joe Biden was completely and utterly incapacitated, and I was
- 34:05Speaker 5: the one who was secretly running things and doing all
- 34:07Speaker 5: the good things. It was his hero it's his fault
- 34:10Speaker 5: for doing all the bad things. Then she will blame
- 34:12Speaker 5: him for hanging around too long and not giving her
- 34:16Speaker 5: enough time to establish herself with the American people. And
- 34:19Speaker 5: that's why she lost the election, not just because she's
- 34:22Speaker 5: a nauseating fool. And and she will not be able
- 34:25Speaker 5: to explain how if she actually had to face a primary,
- 34:28Speaker 5: she was going to win that primary, given that the
- 34:30Speaker 5: previous primary she faced against Joe Biden, she did not
- 34:33Speaker 5: pick up a single vote. That will be conveniently glossed over.
- 34:38Speaker 5: I was the one who actually did all the all
- 34:40Speaker 5: the good stuff, and Joe Biden robbed me of my
- 34:43Speaker 5: chance to become president because he refused to let go being.
- 34:46Speaker 3: The borders are. She's got to take ownership.
- 34:48Speaker 5: For that way, He'll say, there was nothing I could do.
- 34:53Speaker 5: Joe Biden threw me in, knowing that I had to
- 34:56Speaker 5: take all the bad publicity for it, and it was
- 34:59Speaker 5: all his fault. But good stuff that you like, whatever
- 35:01Speaker 5: that is, I did that.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Honestly, what does anyone try to be great at whatever
- 35:05Speaker 2: they're doing?
- 35:06Speaker 1: Twenty million dollars.
- 35:07Speaker 2: For a book deal from a woman who would fail
- 35:10Speaker 2: finger plainting, who indeed failed to flip a single county.
- 35:14Speaker 1: She's the first presidential candidate to do that since nineteen
- 35:18Speaker 1: thirty two. And if you're wondering, Trump flipped fifty four.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Back home.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Now to Sydney, where, my goodness, are we going to
- 35:27Speaker 2: get our New Year's Eve fireworks? This is a massive,
- 35:31Speaker 2: multimillion dollar event that hundreds of thousands of people attend
- 35:36Speaker 2: each year.
- 35:37Speaker 1: But guess what. Guess who's ruining it for us? You
- 35:40Speaker 1: guessed it the fireworks.
- 35:43Speaker 2: And safety concerns over ongoing rail industrial action.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Thanks for nothing, Unions.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Here's Police Commissioner Karen Webb today explaining, Look, if these
- 35:56Speaker 2: guys don't budge, I've got no choice but to advise
- 35:59Speaker 2: the government to cancel.
- 36:02Speaker 15: I haven't ruled out that I will recommend to government
- 36:05Speaker 15: that we cancel the fireworks. Each year, we police us
- 36:10Speaker 15: Eve on the basis that two hundred and fifty thousand
- 36:12Speaker 15: people can come into the city and then safely leave
- 36:15Speaker 15: the city. Leaving the city is based on access to transport,
- 36:21Speaker 15: including trains, and if trains aren't available and people can't
- 36:24Speaker 15: leave the city, I have very large concerns of the
- 36:29Speaker 15: risk that will create to the public.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Firm but fair Joe can you all make Mens save
- 36:35Speaker 2: our fireworks?
- 36:36Speaker 5: He's certainly doing his darndas and I dare say the
- 36:38Speaker 5: Police Commissioner would have been speaking at the behest of
- 36:42Speaker 5: the government just to communicate to the union how seriously,
- 36:45Speaker 5: how serious they're action is. So what has happened? Mens
- 36:47Speaker 5: took the union to court to try to get an
- 36:48Speaker 5: injunction to stop them taking strike action. The court found
- 36:52Speaker 5: against the government and for the unit said no, you
- 36:54Speaker 5: can go on strike and that's the letter of the law.
- 36:56Speaker 5: And the union then appeared to kind of try to
- 37:00Speaker 5: away after the backlash became apparent that they were going
- 37:03Speaker 5: to rule I mean short of ruining Christmas, sort of
- 37:05Speaker 5: canceling Christmas the New Year's e fireworks. I mean, this
- 37:08Speaker 5: is something that has shown all around the world. Hundreds
- 37:11Speaker 5: of thousands of Sydney Siders love it. Millions of people
- 37:14Speaker 5: watch it right across the carp Now, I conn of
- 37:17Speaker 5: that's right. And these guys, the RTPO seems to be
- 37:20Speaker 5: going out of its way to make it. And again
- 37:23Speaker 5: I like the RTBU, it's great unit, but they're making
- 37:26Speaker 5: themselves the most hated people in Australia by this and
- 37:29Speaker 5: the Karen Webb, the police Commissioner has now clearly sought right.
- 37:34Speaker 5: You want to play hardball, I'll play hardball. You do
- 37:37Speaker 5: this and we will cancel New Year's Eve and it
- 37:40Speaker 5: will be on you. It will be your fault. And
- 37:42Speaker 5: she's right because the vast majority of alcohol fueled acts
- 37:47Speaker 5: of violence that hurt people, kill people, have people end
- 37:50Speaker 5: up in hospital. They occur at taxi ranks, they occur
- 37:53Speaker 5: at transport hubs, they occur at kebab shops when people
- 37:57Speaker 5: are struggling to get home, when they're waiting, when they're frustrated,
- 38:01Speaker 5: when they're bought. So you put two hundred and fifty
- 38:03Speaker 5: thousand people in the city no trains, no way to
- 38:05Speaker 5: get home, or not enough. That is an absolute cocktail
- 38:09Speaker 5: for an a bomb.
- 38:11Speaker 3: We've got to go to a break.
- 38:12Speaker 2: But when we come back, Labour's hysterical new ad warning
- 38:16Speaker 2: that nuclear power causes cancer, heart attacks in strokes, well
- 38:23Speaker 2: we all know Labor is running scared from nuclear power
- 38:26Speaker 2: because they know it bests their plans for their green
- 38:31Speaker 2: dream ten to one. They've put up cartoons of three
- 38:36Speaker 2: eyed fish and kept us laughing for quite a while.
- 38:39Speaker 1: But this latest.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Initiative takes the cake ladies and gentlemen, nuclear power causes strokes,
- 38:47Speaker 2: heart attacks and cancer.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Would't you believe it is their new ad?
- 38:53Speaker 17: There are definite increases in cancer, strokes and heart attacks
- 38:58Speaker 17: with nuclear power. Renewable energy, we have much safer alternatives,
- 39:03Speaker 17: and for a health perspective, nuclear makes no sense. There
- 39:06Speaker 17: are significantly increased rates of cancer, heart attacks, and strokes
- 39:11Speaker 17: amongst the workforce in the nuclear industries.
- 39:15Speaker 2: Well, Gabby, I'm sure people in France are really concerned
- 39:18Speaker 2: to hear about this, given they get seventy percent of
- 39:20Speaker 2: their electricity from nuclear power.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that's probably news to them, isn't it. Noah, they
- 39:26Speaker 3: must be riddle.
- 39:26Speaker 1: With health, these diseases. They had no idea.
- 39:29Speaker 4: But this woman, doctor Margaret Beavis I think it is,
- 39:32Speaker 4: is a former Green's candidate. She's been an anti nuclear
- 39:35Speaker 4: activist for some time, labor rolling this scare campaign out
- 39:38Speaker 4: just you know, in the months.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Before we get this federal election. It's so irresponsible.
- 39:43Speaker 4: Other doctors have come out today saying how irresponsible this is,
- 39:47Speaker 4: encountering many of her arguments there and then Olbos had
- 39:50Speaker 4: to defend questions today about what does this mean for
- 39:53Speaker 4: workers working on orchids.
- 39:55Speaker 5: This is such an incredibly stupid own goal when the
- 40:00Speaker 5: Prime Minister needs absolutely everything to be going right for
- 40:04Speaker 5: him to be able to win the election in just
- 40:06Speaker 5: a few months time for alp Head offers, which is
- 40:11Speaker 5: dominated by the left, and that tells you all you
- 40:13Speaker 5: need to know to run out this sort of absolute
- 40:16Speaker 5: Horseshit is the stupidest thing you could possibly get. It's
- 40:20Speaker 5: almost an act of sabotage. I think they're probably too
- 40:23Speaker 5: stupid to realize that the chances it is so stupid
- 40:26Speaker 5: that the momentum is or at least was with Labor
- 40:30Speaker 5: on this issue. Peter Dutton's costings were being absolutely rubbished
- 40:33Speaker 5: by experts. There was no detail on the impact it
- 40:37Speaker 5: would have on power bills, which a lot of people
- 40:39Speaker 5: said would actually probably go up even higher than they
- 40:42Speaker 5: already are. They were on you know, whatever the rights
- 40:46Speaker 5: or wrongs of any of that. You know, they were
- 40:48Speaker 5: having a field day with this. Chris Bowen is running
- 40:51Speaker 5: rings around Peter Dutton and now they have completely utterly
- 40:55Speaker 5: switched it round to the point where when Bowen and
- 40:59Speaker 5: Anthony Albaneese even asked about this video, which is authorized
- 41:03Speaker 5: by the Labor Party National secretary, they won't even back
- 41:09Speaker 5: its contents, They came back its contents, they say, oh, well,
- 41:12Speaker 5: you know it's part of the debate. As part of
- 41:14Speaker 5: the debate. Politicians aren't there to promote debate. Politicians are
- 41:19Speaker 5: there to take a position and prosecute that position, and
- 41:23Speaker 5: they've been doing it pretty well over the last week
- 41:27Speaker 5: or so and now this is just completely lined up,
- 41:29Speaker 5: completely undermined it. It is the most undergraduate, idiotic thing.
- 41:33Speaker 5: And again, did you think maybe that when you're saying
- 41:36Speaker 5: people who work with nuclear are going to get cancer
- 41:40Speaker 5: and strokes and die, that you're talking about Australian service
- 41:45Speaker 5: men and women who are going to be working on
- 41:48Speaker 5: the nuclear powered submarines that the Australian government under Anthey
- 41:53Speaker 5: Albanezi has signed up to buy as part of the
- 41:57Speaker 5: Orcus arrangement. You have just to defense personnel that you're
- 42:02Speaker 5: risking their lives.
- 42:05Speaker 1: You are fools.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Can't say it any better than that here from a
- 42:11Speaker 2: hearty panel. Moving on to Environment Minister Tanya Pliposex.
- 42:16Speaker 1: She's also not.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Doing Albanzy government any favors. She tweeted today how proud
- 42:22Speaker 2: she was that her government had not signed on to
- 42:26Speaker 2: any new call FID power plans.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Here's the offending tweets. First, Firstly, she writes, these guys.
- 42:32Speaker 2: Approved eight new coal mines and were laughing about climate change. Secondly,
- 42:39Speaker 2: she writes, let's fast forward ten years in twenty twenty four,
- 42:46Speaker 2: labor has approved zero new coal mines. What a difference
- 42:51Speaker 2: a decade makes. And then, of course she was absolutely
- 42:56Speaker 2: savaged in the comments because the very day that she
- 43:00Speaker 2: thought it was a good idea to toot her own
- 43:03Speaker 2: horn about this was the very day she extended the
- 43:07Speaker 2: life of four coal fired power plan.
- 43:11Speaker 4: Look, this goes back to what we were saying earlier
- 43:13Speaker 4: in the program with the spending bill in the US,
- 43:15Speaker 4: the power of X. She thinks it's a great idea
- 43:17Speaker 4: to post something on X on Twitter, and she gets
- 43:20Speaker 4: community noted quite quickly. There's now correction saying, no, she
- 43:24Speaker 4: actually extended these cold fire Yeah, she's extending projects. So
- 43:34Speaker 4: she didn't want to tweet out what she was doing
- 43:36Speaker 4: this afternoon, did she? Whatever day it was, she didn't
- 43:39Speaker 4: want to tweet out, you know, I'm actually extending.
- 43:41Speaker 3: The life of these plants.
- 43:42Speaker 4: She's trying to spin this message, she's trying to win
- 43:45Speaker 4: over votes, and it's.
- 43:46Speaker 3: Coming across a very hypocritical.
- 43:48Speaker 5: It's great that Tanya Plise is approving minds instead of
- 43:51Speaker 5: blocking them, right, that was fantastic.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Yeah, out of necessity, will be in the dark if
- 43:56Speaker 2: she doesn't. But seriously, if these politicians were just a
- 44:00Speaker 2: little bit transparent otherwise known as honesty, then maybe you
- 44:06Speaker 2: would win back some public trust. But every time you
- 44:09Speaker 2: get caught out trying to pull the wall over people's eyes,
- 44:13Speaker 2: you get caught out, either by the media or just
- 44:17Speaker 2: average Joe blogs who knows what you're up to and
- 44:20Speaker 2: takes to your own social media pages to savage you,
- 44:24Speaker 2: and rightly so.
- 44:26Speaker 4: And they can't get away with it in twenty twenty four.
- 44:28Speaker 4: And that's the lesson they're they're learning the hard way.
- 44:30Speaker 4: They think they can spin a message now quite quickly,
- 44:34Speaker 4: people will catch on and fact check you in real time.
- 44:37Speaker 14: I know.
- 44:37Speaker 5: There is this thing called the Internet which makes it
- 44:39Speaker 5: quite hard to pretend that you're doing completely opposite things
- 44:42Speaker 5: to two completely different audiences. It does tend to sort
- 44:45Speaker 5: of catch up with you. Also, I've heard.
- 44:47Speaker 2: It used to be so much easier for you, and
- 44:51Speaker 2: now it just doesn't work anymore. A single tweet from
- 44:54Speaker 2: Elon Musk and your massive omnibus bill is gone. Similar
- 44:58Speaker 2: is happening here in Australia.
- 45:00Speaker 1: I like it staying here in Australia.
- 45:03Speaker 2: National's MP Keith Pitt, who you will be very familiar
- 45:07Speaker 2: with as he has graced our screens for many years.
- 45:10Speaker 2: He's one of the good ones in Federal Parliament. He's
- 45:13Speaker 2: bidding farewell to parliament. Here he is saying goodbye.
- 45:18Speaker 16: Political parties that have no purpose will they rapidly disappear.
- 45:23Speaker 16: And it's tough being a member of the Nationals for
- 45:27Speaker 16: regional seat or are always the minority numbers in a
- 45:31Speaker 16: coalition of the Liberal Party always have significant more numbers
- 45:34Speaker 16: than the Thats And that's why you've got to have
- 45:36Speaker 16: bold policies. You've got to take bold positions and you
- 45:40Speaker 16: have to fight for what matters.
- 45:42Speaker 2: Of course, he didn't bow out without savaging David Little
- 45:45Speaker 2: Proud for supporting the government's net zero plans. So he's
- 45:51Speaker 2: not hung up his hat and walked away with the.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Announcement that he's leaving.
- 45:55Speaker 2: I have no doubt he'll be pulling punches till his
- 45:58Speaker 2: last day and office.
- 45:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:59Speaker 4: In interesting to hear is pretty critical of David Little
- 46:02Speaker 4: Proud and then in his statements saying that political parties
- 46:05Speaker 4: without purpose will soon disappear.
- 46:07Speaker 3: So you could be right there.
- 46:08Speaker 4: But it's back with net zero and the nuclear debate
- 46:12Speaker 4: as well, you know, with the problem I should say
- 46:17Speaker 4: with this the scare campaign that we saw from labor
- 46:19Speaker 4: just tying that in all together is that they want
- 46:22Speaker 4: net zero, but they don't want to implement net zero technology.
- 46:25Speaker 4: So you've got anyway people like keep Keith Pitt speaking
- 46:28Speaker 4: out against net zero and making this his big statement today.
- 46:31Speaker 1: He's going to be such a loss for common sense.
- 46:33Speaker 1: I really like a solid voice for a long time.
- 46:35Speaker 5: Yeah, and it is very difficult. Again, I think it
- 46:37Speaker 5: tells you everything you need to know about the climate
- 46:39Speaker 5: debate that where you have people like the nets, it's
- 46:42Speaker 5: almost you know, NAT's labor that basically have the seats
- 46:45Speaker 5: that are most affected by the transition. And so you know,
- 46:47Speaker 5: the big regional areas that have the coal mines are
- 46:50Speaker 5: often that seats or the town centers that rely on
- 46:53Speaker 5: coal mines and coal miners and workers are often held
- 46:56Speaker 5: by labor. And again these are the guys who pay
- 46:58Speaker 5: the price for the aspirations of you know, the inner
- 47:03Speaker 5: city greenies who think it would be all green all
- 47:05Speaker 5: the time, won't have anything in their backyard. So that
- 47:09Speaker 5: is the benchmark. I suppose Keith Pitt is the benchmark
- 47:11Speaker 5: for Okay, how do you actually sell this to this man?
- 47:15Speaker 5: How do you tell this man who represents people who
- 47:18Speaker 5: could lose their jobs, how do you make it worthwhile
- 47:20Speaker 5: to them? And that is the that is the path
- 47:22Speaker 5: of government needs to take one hundred percent.
- 47:25Speaker 1: We've got to go to a break now.
- 47:26Speaker 2: But when we come back, check out the Christmas display
- 47:30Speaker 2: in Abu Dhabi Airport. It puts every single Australian airport
- 47:34Speaker 2: to shame. So that time of the year where we're
- 47:39Speaker 2: all told you can't say Merry Christmas, you might offend minorities. Well,
- 47:44Speaker 2: check out this video that was loaded up duex by
- 47:47Speaker 2: fellow Sky host Rita Panahee pointing out the fact that
- 47:51Speaker 2: there they are in a Muslim country in Abu Derby,
- 47:55Speaker 2: full on celebrating Christmas in their airport. More Christmas spirit
- 48:12Speaker 2: than you'll find it any Australian airport.
- 48:15Speaker 4: Even the music they're playing in the background and everyone's
- 48:17Speaker 4: getting around it.
- 48:18Speaker 3: People are gathering around the christy and sad for.
- 48:21Speaker 4: Us that you have to go to Abu Dhabi Airport
- 48:23Speaker 4: to get a bit of Christmas atmosphere.
- 48:25Speaker 3: You're not going to find that. And what is it,
- 48:26Speaker 3: Derevin Council that was?
- 48:28Speaker 5: I know as an Irish Catholic, I also find Merry
- 48:31Speaker 5: Christmas offensive. We say happy Christmas because merry Christmas just
- 48:35Speaker 5: means you got drunk.
- 48:37Speaker 2: Absolutely well, speaking of not offending anyone by saying Merry Christmas,
- 48:41Speaker 2: here's a comedian made of mind who's figured out.
- 48:43Speaker 1: How to pull that off.
- 48:45Speaker 5: Hate to offend people.
- 48:46Speaker 13: So this whole last holiday season, I didn't let out
- 48:49Speaker 13: one Merry Christmas, that's true. Instead I said, mede the
- 48:52Speaker 13: birth of the one and only true God, Jesus Christ,
- 49:02Speaker 13: the still a blessing of grace and peace upon your household,
- 49:07Speaker 13: to the belittlements of every other false religion, lest you
- 49:13Speaker 13: be gay.
- 49:14Speaker 3: That's what I say, quality, brilliant, and that.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Is exactly what I'm thinking when I say merried Christmas.
- 49:22Speaker 1: We've got to go now.
- 49:23Speaker 2: These two will be back next week, but from me,
- 49:26Speaker 2: a very merry and holy Christmas to you and yours.
- 49:30Speaker 2: Coming up next the Royal Report, Caroline Dear Russa
