- 0:55Speaker 4: kind demeanor. He, along with Deputy Terry Sweeting mash Coow,
- 0:59Speaker 4: die of their injuries.
- 1:00Speaker 2: This makes me so mad, Devin. I had a conversation
- 1:04Speaker 2: before the show today about this. This guy was doing
- 1:06Speaker 2: nothing but his job.
- 1:07Speaker 5: A locksmith at seventy six, still working. Yeah, it was
- 1:10Speaker 5: probably very good at his job, enjoyed working and this
- 1:13Speaker 5: is what he was doing, helping the police, and this happen,
- 1:16Speaker 5: and this this gum.
- 1:17Speaker 2: The guy just opened fire. The mint of the door
- 1:19Speaker 2: came open and I shot him and the officer and
- 1:23Speaker 2: another officer actually who did survive.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Yeah, So the scene unfolded last Friday during an eviction
- 1:27Speaker 4: process in Vero Beach. The suspect, Michael Helberstam, was shot
- 1:31Speaker 4: by deputies and he too later died as well. Now,
- 1:34Speaker 4: meanwhile in Indian River County, deputy is being remembered as
- 1:37Speaker 4: the most amazing person you could find. That's what a
- 1:40Speaker 4: friend said last night at a vigil for Terry Sweeting
- 1:43Speaker 4: maash Cow. Another deputy was hurt, but he is now
- 1:45Speaker 4: home recovering. A friend tells a WPTV suiteing mash Cow
- 1:50Speaker 4: would be honored to know just how many people attended.
- 1:52Speaker 6: The vigil to show their support.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:55Speaker 6: She was also posthumously promoted to sergeant.
- 1:58Speaker 2: I saw that. How cool? All right?

- 2:04Speaker 4: Florida's notorious pillowcase rapist.
- 2:07Speaker 6: One of the three great words I think in the
- 2:09Speaker 6: English dictionaries.
- 2:10Speaker 3: I am sorry if.
- 2:11Speaker 2: He had uttered those words. Then maybe I might give
- 2:14Speaker 2: some credence, mister Clayman to your request for mercy.
- 2:18Speaker 3: That wasn't happy, he was combated, he was obnoxious.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Judge David Young went above the sentencing guidelines for nineteen
- 2:25Speaker 4: eighty four when the burglary, kidnapping, and sexual battery took place.
- 2:29Speaker 4: After removing Robert Kohler from the courtroom following his outburst,
- 2:33Speaker 4: Young sentenced him to life sentences on all four counts,
- 2:37Speaker 4: four life sentences. He was currently serving seventeen years for
- 2:41Speaker 4: a twenty twenty three conviction for a nineteen eighty three attack.
- 2:45Speaker 4: It's belief Cohler is responsible for dozens of rapes and
- 2:48Speaker 4: both Miami Dade and Broward Counties. Back in the nineteen eighties.
- 2:51Speaker 4: He was given the name Pillowcase Rapist because he covered
- 2:55Speaker 4: his victims' faces before attacking them. A Seminole County nonprofit
- 2:59Speaker 4: is taking the state to court. Ovido's Bear Warriors United
- 3:03Speaker 4: is suing to stop the fw C from having a
- 3:06Speaker 4: black bear hunt next month. A judge is going to
- 3:08Speaker 4: be hearing arguments today. The FWC says the hunt is
- 3:12Speaker 4: needed to reduce the par bear population, but Bear Warriors
- 3:16Speaker 4: United's attorney says there's no evidence that bears are overpopulated.
- 3:20Speaker 2: That's why every time I hear this thing, it's.
- 3:21Speaker 6: Like such a crap.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I was, like, where are they are they? Really? Are
- 3:25Speaker 2: they breaking the buble's houses? I mean, even if you
- 3:28Speaker 2: do have an intrusion occasionally, My god, man, you should
- 3:31Speaker 2: be happy enough. You you live at a state where
- 3:32Speaker 2: the wildlife is flourishing.
- 3:34Speaker 4: My god, I mean, look at what happened on Grand
- 3:35Speaker 4: Island near Mount Dora last week when a homeowner shot
- 3:38Speaker 4: a bear on his neighbor's property right in front of
- 3:41Speaker 4: her cub The she tells again a Bear Warriors United's
- 3:45Speaker 4: attorney tells Wesh two. There's no overpopulation of bears, but
- 3:48Speaker 4: there is an overpopulation of greed, corruption, and developers.
- 3:52Speaker 7: See even when the bears win, they lose.
- 3:55Speaker 6: Yeah, all right?
- 3:57Speaker 4: At court hearing is scheduled today in Miami over plans
- 4:00Speaker 4: for a Trump presidential library on prime downtown land. The
- 4:05Speaker 4: case stems from a September vote by Miami Dade College
- 4:08Speaker 4: trustees to transfer nearly three acres next to the Freedom
- 4:11Speaker 4: Tower to the state later earmark for the library. A
- 4:15Speaker 4: judge blocked the deal, though, saying the college likely violated
- 4:18Speaker 4: Florida Sunshine Law by failing to give the public proper notice.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Activist Marvin Dunn brought the lawsuit, arguing the land giveaway
- 4:26Speaker 4: lack transparency and could set a precedent for weakening open
- 4:30Speaker 4: government rules. Speaking of a governor, Florida's race for governor
- 4:35Speaker 4: is getting more crowded as Republican James Fishback announced announced
- 4:40Speaker 4: his candidacy today. Fishback, a North Florida based investment ceo,
- 4:44Speaker 4: entered the race for Florida governor with a swipe at
- 4:48Speaker 4: Trump endorsed Republican Byron Donalds, who is black.
- 4:51Speaker 6: This is spicy.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Byron Donalds is a slave. I'm sorry he's a slave,
- 4:57Speaker 2: he says.
- 4:58Speaker 6: He says that would be to owners and corporations.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Fishback just got the attention he was after. Exactly exactly
- 5:05Speaker 2: what a statement now.
- 5:06Speaker 4: In his campaign video, Fishback vowed to abolish property taxes
- 5:10Speaker 4: and criticize Donald's for supporting H one B visas and
- 5:14Speaker 4: AI data centers. Fishback also says he wants to stop
- 5:17Speaker 4: corporations such as Blackstone and Airbnb from buying up homes.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Fishback joins more than how many candidates in the twenty
- 5:24Speaker 4: twenty six race.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Fu By the way, is he running as a what
- 5:28Speaker 2: a Republican? Is it really net that's wild. I think
- 5:31Speaker 2: it's more than five.
- 5:32Speaker 6: It's twenty.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I was going to say how many candidates already? I
- 5:35Speaker 2: thought it was thirteen.
- 5:36Speaker 6: Yeah, twenty all right.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Today could be one of the busiest days of the
- 5:41Speaker 4: week at Orlando International Airport. How many people are expected
- 5:45Speaker 4: to pass through MCO today, take.
- 5:47Speaker 2: My life leaving your arriving or does it matter? Just
- 5:51Speaker 2: pass through people matter?
- 5:53Speaker 5: I think yesterday was one hundred and seventy nine thousand
- 5:56Speaker 5: going through the airport, and today's supposed to be busier.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Today is one hundred and sixty thousand people. Yesterday was
- 6:03Speaker 4: even busier, like you said, but no major problems were reported.
- 6:06Speaker 7: Ross right.
- 6:07Speaker 4: One man traveling to New York tell's New six it
- 6:10Speaker 4: was good, quick and easy.
- 6:11Speaker 8: Now.
- 6:11Speaker 4: The busiest days of the Thanksgiving holiday will start next Saturday,
- 6:15Speaker 4: and Sunday is expected to be the busiest. The FAA
- 6:20Speaker 4: says it's expecting the busiest Thanksgiving travel season in fifteen years.
- 6:25Speaker 7: I am proud to say I am not going out
- 6:27Speaker 7: on any of those super busy days.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, see.
- 6:30Speaker 7: Or coming back in on those super busy It.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Doesn't hear though, that the flights that are going to
- 6:34Speaker 2: Phoenix are going to be no pressure in the cabin
- 6:36Speaker 2: and very Bumpykay, it's gonna be awesome.
- 6:39Speaker 4: Well, if you're not flying, the State Highway Patrol and
- 6:42Speaker 4: State Department of Transportation aren't preparing for a busy Thanksgiving
- 6:46Speaker 4: week in central Florida. Nearly four point seven million Floridians
- 6:50Speaker 4: are expected to travel on local roadways. Tuesday and Wednesday
- 6:55Speaker 4: are will likely be the busiest days on the roads.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Troopers are reminding driver to practice safe driving habits if
- 7:02Speaker 4: you haven't noticed, they're also allowed trying to catch speeders
- 7:04Speaker 4: and everything. Now they're urged to buckle up, avoid distractions,
- 7:08Speaker 4: move over when necessary, and never drive impair.
- 7:12Speaker 5: Remember when Orange County Sheriff's office they would set up
- 7:16Speaker 5: like as the Grinch, Yeah, and shoot radar. Yeah, they
- 7:19Speaker 5: did that whole radar thing and Santas Elves yep.
- 7:23Speaker 6: Probably look for him again this year.
- 7:25Speaker 4: All right, And if you are hitting the road for Thanksgiving,
- 7:27Speaker 4: you may.
- 7:28Speaker 6: Have to pay higher gas prices.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Triple A yesterday released its weekly survey of gas prices
- 7:33Speaker 4: across Florida. The state wide average is up almost twenty
- 7:37Speaker 4: cents from a week ago to three ten a gallon
- 7:39Speaker 4: for regular unleaded.
- 7:40Speaker 2: I don't even want to tell you what I paid yesterday.
- 7:42Speaker 6: I paid two ninety nine this morning, did you really?
- 7:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:47Speaker 4: The lowest prices are in the Panhandle, where the average
- 7:50Speaker 4: three nineteen.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Oh damn three nineteen yesterday? Yeah?
- 7:54Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, the lowest gas prices head up to the Panhandle.
- 7:57Speaker 4: The average and the Cressview Fort Walton Beach area is
- 8:00Speaker 4: two seventy one a gallon. The highest prices are on
- 8:03Speaker 4: the West Palm Beach book or Ratone area, where it's
- 8:05Speaker 4: three twenty six.
- 8:07Speaker 5: Don't gag on immune to this costco we even got hit.
- 8:11Speaker 5: I paid two eighty two.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Wow.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Wow. I wish your mouth didn't work.
- 8:16Speaker 7: I mean, is it bad?
- 8:17Speaker 3: I really do.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I wish your mouth to just stop working.
- 8:19Speaker 7: I can't be the only one that just shows up
- 8:21Speaker 7: to their same gas station and goes whatever the price
- 8:25Speaker 7: is right.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't chase prices. I just go
- 8:29Speaker 2: to the gas station nearest when I'm almost empty. Yeah,
- 8:31Speaker 2: and I just but I just always, because we talk
- 8:33Speaker 2: about this all the time, I always remember what I paid,
- 8:36Speaker 2: and sometimes I pay like two eighty nine two seventy nine.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Get real lucky yesterday to nugget lucky, not so lucky?
- 8:41Speaker 4: All right, Well, keep safety top of mind when you're
- 8:44Speaker 4: cooking your Thanksgiving feast.
- 8:46Speaker 9: Thanksgiving is the peak day for home cooking fires, and
- 8:50Speaker 9: with more than three times the daily average, cooking causes
- 8:54Speaker 9: half over fifty two percent of all reported home fires.
- 8:57Speaker 4: That's an incredible stat but state chief and JEL officer
- 9:00Speaker 4: Blazing Golia says, use common sense, especially if you're frying
- 9:03Speaker 4: your bird. Keep the fryer far away from your home
- 9:06Speaker 4: at ground level. Make sure your turkey is completely thawed
- 9:09Speaker 4: before putting it in the hot oil. Do not overfill
- 9:12Speaker 4: the fryer, Keep your kids far away and your fire
- 9:14Speaker 4: extinguisher close by.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Yeah, and don't try to make it like it's a basket, like,
- 9:20Speaker 2: don't try to just dunk it in there.
- 9:21Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 9:22Speaker 5: Get to lower it really slowly, take about one minute
- 9:25Speaker 5: to lower that's right, really Yeah. And I decided today
- 9:29Speaker 5: I'm frying my turkey.
- 9:32Speaker 2: He found some cheap oil people's I did.
- 9:35Speaker 5: I was talking it over with Mike, my bug guy
- 9:37Speaker 5: who's at the house, and he pointed out he made
- 9:39Speaker 5: some great points.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Fifteen dollars a gallon for peanut oil at Aldi. Okay,
- 9:45Speaker 2: you need two and a half gallons, I'll get three
- 9:47Speaker 2: forty five.
- 9:48Speaker 5: It's still cheaper than paying sixty if sixty still larger thing.
- 9:53Speaker 5: And when I filter it, I can now because it's
- 9:57Speaker 5: in gallon containers, keep it in the my frige, the
- 10:01Speaker 5: outside frige, and so I'll have it for a year
- 10:04Speaker 5: that I can reuse it.
- 10:05Speaker 2: I can get.
- 10:06Speaker 6: That's not how happy he is.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I could eat my weight and fried turkeys. That's what
- 10:09Speaker 2: I know for it. Don't ever had any No, it's
- 10:12Speaker 2: so good. It is the best way to cook it
- 10:13Speaker 2: outside of smoking it. It's the best way to gook
- 10:15Speaker 2: it burg there's no question.
- 10:16Speaker 8: All right.
- 10:17Speaker 7: Also, what was that guy's name giving us fire advice?
- 10:20Speaker 6: Blazing goalie?
- 10:21Speaker 7: I just wanted to make sure that was right, Yes,
- 10:25Speaker 7: all right?
- 10:26Speaker 4: After Thanksgiving, you can help firefighters in Orange County celebrate Christmas.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:30Speaker 4: The county has launched its to Adopt a fire Station program.
- 10:34Speaker 4: Fire Rescue Battalian Chief Thomas Ville says it allows residents
- 10:37Speaker 4: to visit firefighters during the Christmas season and say thank you.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Some bring food and gifts, but it's really about building
- 10:43Speaker 4: a sense of community and think about this. Vill tell
- 10:46Speaker 4: Spectrum News thirteen. If we can't be with our families,
- 10:49Speaker 4: at least we can be with our community family, right,
- 10:52Speaker 4: I mean firefighters still have to Oh yeah, yeah, we'll
- 10:54Speaker 4: have to man the fire station. So the program starts
- 10:57Speaker 4: next week December first. You can sign up now though
- 11:00Speaker 4: at OCFL dot net. You know what else comes up
- 11:03Speaker 4: at the end of this month. The Atlantic Hurricane seasonal
- 11:09Speaker 4: on Sunday, after.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Producing fingers are crossed. Goods.
- 11:12Speaker 4: Yeah, thirteen named storms, five hurricanes, and four major hurricanes
- 11:17Speaker 4: of category three or higher. Despite above normal activity, the
- 11:21Speaker 4: US saw no hurricane landfalls, only with Tropical Storm Sean
- 11:25Speaker 4: tal brushing South Carolina.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Well homeowners insurance is gonna plummet and I got just
- 11:30Speaker 2: talked about it today. It's going down to a dollar
- 11:32Speaker 2: a year. Nice. I'm going to exactly.
- 11:38Speaker 4: The season standout was Hurricane Melissa, the category five monster
- 11:43Speaker 4: that struck Jamaica with record setting winds and low pressure.
- 11:47Speaker 4: Experts at Colorado State University same warm waters and weak
- 11:50Speaker 4: La Ninia conditions fueled those intense storms, even as a
- 11:54Speaker 4: mid season lull kept activity quiet for weeks and again.
- 11:57Speaker 4: But if you're up in Titusville or up in Lank County,
- 12:02Speaker 4: roy still.
- 12:03Speaker 6: Waiting for the roads to be rebuilt.
- 12:04Speaker 2: It was way different.
- 12:05Speaker 4: I don't know if you guys have heard this, but
- 12:07Speaker 4: several grassroots organizations are calling for a nationwide economic boycott
- 12:12Speaker 4: on Black Friday of the National Retail Federation says this
- 12:17Speaker 4: year's holiday sales are expected to pass.
- 12:20Speaker 6: How much money for the first time?
- 12:21Speaker 7: The National Retail Federation, What a bunch of nerds?
- 12:25Speaker 2: This is how much money's going to be spent on
- 12:27Speaker 2: Christmas for the US.
- 12:28Speaker 6: Well, it's going to be spent on holidays, yes, Black Friday.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Oh, on Black Friday? Okay? Oh god, eight point four billion?
- 12:37Speaker 2: Kind of like that number.
- 12:38Speaker 7: I'm going under four point four I'm going ten billion.
- 12:41Speaker 4: How about one trillion? What one trillion dollars for the
- 12:45Speaker 4: first time?
- 12:45Speaker 2: That's not a real number.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Now, A coalition of groups is urgent consumers to stop
- 12:50Speaker 4: all spending on Black Friday and Cyber Monday to protest.
- 12:54Speaker 6: That'd be one trillion over the holidays.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Yeah. Still, that's an assload, and that's it is. That's
- 12:58Speaker 2: a gigantic number. So they're globally Yeah, it doesn't sound right.
- 13:03Speaker 2: I mean, I'll be honest, that's a lot of money.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I mean a thousand billion dollars when we're talking about
- 13:07Speaker 2: to you know, is that globally or is that just
- 13:09Speaker 2: in the US.
- 13:09Speaker 4: I believe that's just in the US, because it's according
- 13:12Speaker 4: to the National Retail Federation.
- 13:14Speaker 7: I'm telling you, there are a group of nerds.
- 13:15Speaker 11: Man.
- 13:16Speaker 4: So now a coalition of groups is urgent consumers to
- 13:19Speaker 4: stop all spending on Black Friday and Cyber Monday to
- 13:22Speaker 4: protest economic inequality in the US. The groups including Blackout
- 13:27Speaker 4: the System.
- 13:28Speaker 5: I guess ten billions, so I guess I was.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Definitely not worth a ding though.
- 13:34Speaker 4: And the Money Out of Politics movement are also calling
- 13:37Speaker 4: on shoppers to cancel digital subscriptions during the boycott, which
- 13:41Speaker 4: runs tomorrow through December.
- 13:43Speaker 6: Second.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Uh, Small Business Saturday, however, is exempt from the boycott.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Oh there you go. Yeah, yeah, it makes perfect sense.
- 13:50Speaker 7: Right, Yeah, exactly, that would be a real weird heal
- 13:53Speaker 7: to die on. And we're gonna take it through Saturday too.
- 14:00Speaker 4: And then finally, yeah, Titanic, Yep, it's a timeless song
- 14:06Speaker 4: right here, It is a timeless song.
- 14:07Speaker 2: No idea what this was? I thought it was Avatar. Yeah,
- 14:11Speaker 2: you got it.
- 14:12Speaker 4: Exactly same director, the same story without the blue It's
- 14:15Speaker 4: actually a pretty cool story. A gold pocket watch that
- 14:19Speaker 4: survived the sinking of the Titanic has sold.
- 14:22Speaker 2: For It wasn't just a gold pocket watch.
- 14:26Speaker 8: I know.
- 14:26Speaker 4: But keep those details to yourself right now, please, un.
- 14:30Speaker 2: We're getting I did not see the final number. I
- 14:33Speaker 2: will go one point two million, I'll go one hundred thousand.
- 14:38Speaker 7: I'll go fifteen ten mil. Ten mil, he.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Said, fifteen ten mil.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Yeah, two point three million dollars at auction. The watch
- 14:48Speaker 4: carried by first class passenger is Ador Strauss. You know
- 14:52Speaker 4: that man, co owner of Macy's department store, sold for
- 14:56Speaker 4: the record breaking price in England on Saturday. It was
- 14:58Speaker 4: recovered from his body after the ship sank on its
- 15:01Speaker 4: maiden voyage in April of nineteen twelve. Strauss and his
- 15:05Speaker 4: wife Ida were depicted in the nineteen ninety seven film
- 15:07Speaker 4: Titanic as the couple who chose to embrace in their
- 15:11Speaker 4: final moments together and perished in the disaster that claimed
- 15:14Speaker 4: more than fifteen hundred lives. More recently, it was revealed
- 15:18Speaker 4: that they were the great great grandparents of Ocean Gate
- 15:22Speaker 4: CEO Stockton Rush's wife.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Wendy Oh my god, almighty.
- 15:26Speaker 6: Remember, Rush was among the five people killed in twenty
- 15:28Speaker 6: twenty three, went away from the water.
- 15:30Speaker 4: When his titan submersible imploded while on an expedition to
- 15:34Speaker 4: view the wreck of the Titanic.
- 15:35Speaker 2: And that's an interesting way to frame that, right recovered
- 15:37Speaker 2: from his body. Yeah, I think he was the richest
- 15:43Speaker 2: man on the boat.
- 15:44Speaker 6: I believe it. Well, yeah, between me and the Rockefellers. Yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 6: there were Rockefellers on the boat.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think he was. Why maybe I should
- 15:50Speaker 2: say one of the richest guys. Yeah, I'd read that
- 15:52Speaker 2: he was the most the wealthiest guy on the boat
- 15:54Speaker 2: at the time.
- 15:54Speaker 4: And you've never seen the movie, but that's one of
- 15:56Speaker 4: the more touching scenes, isn't it, when the old couple
- 15:58Speaker 4: embrace on the bed the water is rushing in.
- 16:01Speaker 2: That's so wild.
- 16:02Speaker 7: That's Joel, the guy who I do Yeah, right, right,
- 16:06Speaker 7: my good friend. That's his old acting teacher, the guy
- 16:09Speaker 7: who played that guy. Really, I'm not saying that's the
- 16:13Speaker 7: same level of the Rush connection, but we also have
- 16:17Speaker 7: our own little Titanic connection on that knowory.
- 16:19Speaker 4: But it is weird though, right of her great great
- 16:21Speaker 4: grandparents who perish in the Titanic, and then that's unbelievable.
- 16:25Speaker 4: Her husband ends up perishing to go see the Titanic.
- 16:29Speaker 7: Wow, that's so awesome, Jim. That's so punk rock that
- 16:31Speaker 7: you haven't seen Titanic. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:34Speaker 2: And I only do it because it's so punk rock,
- 16:36Speaker 2: you know.
- 16:36Speaker 7: At this point, I mean, I hope you don't see it.
- 16:38Speaker 2: No, no, no, if.
- 16:39Speaker 7: You're confused by every little piece of pop culture that
- 16:43Speaker 7: it has been a part of it.
- 16:44Speaker 2: But I'm gonna be honest with you. I don't know
- 16:45Speaker 2: that my wife has seen it. I don't think my
- 16:48Speaker 2: wife has seen it either. So maybe this week we
- 16:50Speaker 2: will gather together and we will avoid watching it again.
- 16:54Speaker 6: Yeah, it's a cold weather, cold weather movie.
- 16:57Speaker 2: All right, very good? A little chilli this weekend? Hell
- 17:00Speaker 2: little well Friday, at least.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Friday's high sixty five. All right, let's go do this
- 17:05Speaker 4: makes wearing the stretchy pants a little.
- 17:06Speaker 6: Bit more comfortable?
- 17:07Speaker 2: Are so?
- 17:08Speaker 6: And that concludes your JCS news?
- 17:14Speaker 2: Alright, four oh seven nine one text us seven seven
- 17:18Speaker 2: is zero three one. Backing a second with more of
- 17:20Speaker 2: the Jim Corword show.
- 17:21Speaker 3: That's hey, Jim cool word so Hanah.
- 17:31Speaker 12: Yeah, you know, I always love the holidays, and I
- 17:34Speaker 12: was very fortunate. I inherited a very big, wonderful family.
- 17:38Speaker 12: When I married my wife, we swap you know, we
- 17:42Speaker 12: host up to forty on Christmas Day, other family areas
- 17:47Speaker 12: that we gather for the other holidays. But it does
- 17:50Speaker 12: come with a little different grain, as my mom passed
- 17:53Speaker 12: a couple of years ago, And you know, you still
- 17:55Speaker 12: make the best of it. Enjoy all the family while
- 17:57Speaker 12: you can.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Aloha, Hello, Heloha.
- 18:00Speaker 13: I don't celebrate Thanksgiving for Christmas or New Years. It's
- 18:05Speaker 13: mainly a religious thing. But when I think about the
- 18:08Speaker 13: condition of the world and provisions and the water and food,
- 18:13Speaker 13: or indulging just doesn't seem for me to be something
- 18:17Speaker 13: I want to do back to each his own.
- 18:21Speaker 14: Ah, Thanksgiving just me and my lovely wife. A turkey
- 18:27Speaker 14: one day, a prime reapproach the other, a fine bottle
- 18:31Speaker 14: of wine, no annoying children or relatives, just us and
- 18:36Speaker 14: a nice music gig on Friday night.
- 18:39Speaker 2: So how much better can it be?
- 18:41Speaker 10: I love Thanksgiving.
- 18:44Speaker 15: Jim Colbert did Jack to say bud guy or bug guy,
- 18:51Speaker 15: bug guy? Because me and the wife heard bud You
- 18:56Speaker 15: know what, that's impressive?
- 18:58Speaker 3: Oh, I love Havy Thanksgiving.
- 19:02Speaker 2: He was cleaning his bomb. Yeah, yeah, one love. All right,
- 19:05Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Jim Goober Show, Real Radio one
- 19:07Speaker 2: oh four point one. I'm JIMNR DIBB. Hello Jack smoke
- 19:10Speaker 2: one for Jimmy Cliff saus daddy. Yeah, Jimmy Cliff passes today,
- 19:12Speaker 2: eighty one years old.
- 19:13Speaker 16: Reggae legend JC damns not what he's known by. Yeah, Jack,
- 19:20Speaker 16: you remember all the times you went to Jamaica that
- 19:22Speaker 16: the locals would talk more about Jimmy Cliff than they would,
- 19:24Speaker 16: you know, like Marley, because all of the Americans only know
- 19:27Speaker 16: like Marley.
- 19:27Speaker 2: But uh, and.
- 19:28Speaker 5: We engage on many of our visits there, engage him
- 19:31Speaker 5: on like music.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, because typically.
- 19:34Speaker 5: When you I remember we got there one night he
- 19:37Speaker 5: was just playing Michael Jackson stuff.
- 19:41Speaker 2: One Driver.
- 19:42Speaker 5: But we talked to him about reggae and stuff. But
- 19:45Speaker 5: that's where my wife would ask, well, what do you
- 19:48Speaker 5: guys listen to?
- 19:49Speaker 2: And that's when, oh, I'm gonna blank on the name
- 19:51Speaker 2: of the band.
- 19:52Speaker 5: But they gave us a couple of bands that we
- 19:54Speaker 5: have listened to it and I've used for rejoints here.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, the it's so funny. I remember the first
- 19:59Speaker 2: time I went the cat. He was playing a stereotypical
- 20:03Speaker 2: selection of all of the reggae that Americans would recognize.
- 20:07Speaker 2: And he looked at me and he said it was
- 20:08Speaker 2: funny because he popped his tape out and he goes, look,
- 20:10Speaker 2: and he goes, it's American reggae on the cassatt and
- 20:12Speaker 2: they put it right back in and it's like they
- 20:14Speaker 2: listen to dance hall. That's what he said. He listened
- 20:16Speaker 2: to is just like a bunch of dance hall.
- 20:18Speaker 5: Right, So what drivers are doing, they're trying to give
- 20:20Speaker 5: you the experience that you expect, and so yeah.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Yeah, they don't want to hear. Do you have any
- 20:27Speaker 4: Bob Marley from the back seat anymore?
- 20:29Speaker 7: Dude, you got to ask for some Capleton. Go ahead
- 20:32Speaker 7: and ask for some boojjud Dude. I saw sizzle a live,
- 20:37Speaker 7: I saw I've seen I've gotten deep into some weird
- 20:40Speaker 7: reggae rooms.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Hey, let me ask you guys a quick question. Dev
- 20:44Speaker 2: just shared something during the break and I do not
- 20:46Speaker 2: think we have a parallel. I love this. By the way,
- 20:48Speaker 2: we run across these situations occasionally where either men and
- 20:53Speaker 2: or women will have a specific part of their life
- 20:55Speaker 2: that the others can't explain. I mean, when I tell
- 20:58Speaker 2: you my bathroom story, you'll understand. But I was like
- 21:00Speaker 2: a she goes, I'm I'm a little pissed off. Because
- 21:03Speaker 2: pissed off, I'm gutted. Yeah, I gutted.
- 21:05Speaker 6: I'm gutted.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Why would you think deb is gutted? That means hurt.
- 21:09Speaker 2: That's what. What does she get a couple of times
- 21:13Speaker 2: a year that would that if she didn't get it
- 21:16Speaker 2: from this person, would gut her. And we and dudes
- 21:20Speaker 2: do not have a parallel to this. By the way,
- 21:22Speaker 2: hair hair hair her stylist is retiring. No, oh, that
- 21:26Speaker 2: is such a huge God. My wife's stylist moved to California.
- 21:33Speaker 2: She legit lobbied for him to stay here. She's like, well,
- 21:36Speaker 2: I can work a couple of things out where you
- 21:38Speaker 2: can make more money here. But I mean she was like,
- 21:40Speaker 2: I'm not and I'm not joking, because dude went to
- 21:42Speaker 2: La to work like at some of the really like
- 21:44Speaker 2: banger salons over there. This guy was like a genius
- 21:46Speaker 2: and she it took her a year to find somebody
- 21:49Speaker 2: she trusted.
- 21:49Speaker 6: Oh and and it happened before.
- 21:52Speaker 4: Zeus is his name, and yes, he is a hair
- 21:54Speaker 4: God had left and moved to Denver to go do
- 21:57Speaker 4: the hair for the Denver Broncos cheerleaders. And that was
- 22:01Speaker 4: the loneliest year from my hair. It was it was
- 22:04Speaker 4: just it was horrible. Now he's given us a name,
- 22:06Speaker 4: you know, he didn't leave us hanging. He's given us
- 22:08Speaker 4: a name of a really good stylist. But yeah, but
- 22:11Speaker 4: the person the personality is. The personality is so much
- 22:15Speaker 4: part of that.
- 22:15Speaker 6: Right, He's been a friend of mine for over thirty years.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Well, I mean it's not uncommon for women have the
- 22:20Speaker 2: same stylists, like I think Russ's mom has had the
- 22:22Speaker 2: same person in soiling her hair literally for thirty or
- 22:25Speaker 2: forty years.
- 22:25Speaker 4: There's two things a woman keeps as long as she
- 22:28Speaker 4: possibly can. One is her obg wyan Okay, okay, because
- 22:32Speaker 4: once you have a relationship with a doctor that you
- 22:34Speaker 4: like and you trust, right, you don't want to just
- 22:36Speaker 4: go see anymore.
- 22:38Speaker 6: And then the second one would be your stylist.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you will like our version of that. I
- 22:42Speaker 2: was just saying, we don't have one.
- 22:43Speaker 7: No, I think ours is a woman.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Like that.
- 22:48Speaker 7: One thing we can't live without is a partner.
- 22:51Speaker 2: But we don't have that. The only thing with deb
- 22:53Speaker 2: and I were just kind of talking about this during
- 22:55Speaker 2: the break and I think the only thing that we
- 22:56Speaker 2: have similar to that is like a bartender. We like, right,
- 22:59Speaker 2: like a regular bartender, but.
- 23:01Speaker 4: You don't go there often enough that if they left
- 23:03Speaker 4: it would make that big of a difference.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah, you're a bud guy.
- 23:09Speaker 7: I think people will go to the bar more than
- 23:12Speaker 7: the hair salon.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't. I don't like. I don't. I don't
- 23:15Speaker 2: know what it would be if it was a guy,
- 23:17Speaker 2: because I don't get my hair done obviously, and if
- 23:19Speaker 2: you have a hair it's funny one. I'm going in there.
- 23:23Speaker 2: I'm going in there. This is the week. I don't
- 23:24Speaker 2: have to deal with it. You make the joke. What
- 23:27Speaker 2: do you mean I make the joke? You don't have
- 23:30Speaker 2: a hair guy? Obviously, you don't have to laugh about it.
- 23:33Speaker 2: It's a statement. It's not like a joke.
- 23:34Speaker 7: You also don't have to say obviously, you don't know.
- 23:40Speaker 2: That there are dudes that have just hair just like me,
- 23:42Speaker 2: who get it done every week. I can't sell that.
- 23:47Speaker 2: I was trying to sell that so hard. I can't
- 23:48Speaker 2: even do it.
- 23:50Speaker 7: I don't have a bartender. Bartenders up there for but
- 23:54Speaker 7: that also that's a unisex thing, man, because I've seen
- 23:57Speaker 7: some female people at a bar.
- 24:00Speaker 2: I gotta tell you that. But I was rebuilding all
- 24:01Speaker 2: these houses back in the day. I knew dudes at
- 24:03Speaker 2: like Depot and Low's and Hace and all the people
- 24:05Speaker 2: where I went. And then when those guys would change,
- 24:07Speaker 2: I'm like, where's Paul. He was in the paint department yesterday,
- 24:10Speaker 2: Paul's my god, where's Paul? Paul moved on to another store.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Nobody called me about Paul also dead.
- 24:16Speaker 7: I don't want to know what exactly you said if
- 24:18Speaker 7: this was the case, But was this also like a
- 24:21Speaker 7: therapeutic also, I don't want to say gossip, but question
- 24:25Speaker 7: and answer social scenario that stereotypically happens.
- 24:30Speaker 6: I mean, I'm in the chair for three three and
- 24:32Speaker 6: a half hours.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Oh he's a therapist.
- 24:34Speaker 6: Yeah, he's a therapist.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, Like so like.
- 24:37Speaker 4: That's half their job is to be the therapist. The
- 24:39Speaker 4: other half is to do your head.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Got your for free and listen to your crap for two.
- 24:43Speaker 5: Which might be another similarity is when a therapist leaves
- 24:47Speaker 5: and you know, yes, before you're ready to leave, yes, absolutely,
- 24:51Speaker 5: trying to find it.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Oh, I gotta start over.
- 24:53Speaker 6: Yeah, exactly.
- 24:53Speaker 7: You know what never happens. Your therapist goes, guess what, guys,
- 24:56Speaker 7: I'm gonna start cutting hair.
- 24:58Speaker 2: They're all good.
- 25:00Speaker 7: Your hair person ever goes, I'm getting into therapy.
- 25:03Speaker 2: And you never ever ever have it.
- 25:05Speaker 4: I mean, I wish him the best and I'm gonna
- 25:07Speaker 4: miss him, but no, I do I really, I mean,
- 25:11Speaker 4: he's he's put the time in. He's been standing on
- 25:13Speaker 4: his feet for over three decades. His hands are starting
- 25:17Speaker 4: to bleed from the chemicals, so he needs to.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Really really, Yeah, that's odd. What are you having?
- 25:22Speaker 5: Texter comes in with a recommendation, deb and it's it's
- 25:26Speaker 5: perfect because not only they give you a name and
- 25:28Speaker 5: a phone number and tell you this hairdresser is mobile,
- 25:31Speaker 5: it's a guy.
- 25:32Speaker 2: So I don't know. They seem to have a leg
- 25:34Speaker 2: up on this. I don't know what's up.
- 25:36Speaker 5: But then the recommendation comes from a bald guy.
- 25:41Speaker 2: So thank you, evil lie, we apply to your text.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Do not take that advice. I don't care, I don't
- 25:48Speaker 2: care what that dude's bio is. If that guy recommended it,
- 25:51Speaker 2: do not take it. Do not do it.
- 25:54Speaker 4: Well, I mean, and it's it's different too. When you
- 25:56Speaker 4: get a specialized color like mine, it's purple.
- 25:58Speaker 7: I gotta shoot my shot here because I'm trying to
- 26:01Speaker 7: be the best son in law I can. Mother in
- 26:03Speaker 7: law does hair. She's been starting to do a lot
- 26:06Speaker 7: of a local performer's hair all around Orlando. So if
- 26:09Speaker 7: you need a little hair done, I know the plug. Also,
- 26:12Speaker 7: what's really funny is that I get to gossip about
- 26:15Speaker 7: former gossip from like the nineties and hair salon conversation.
- 26:19Speaker 2: She had it all.
- 26:20Speaker 7: Yeah, because I was always been so curious.
- 26:21Speaker 6: Like what do they actually talk about everything? There has
- 26:25Speaker 6: to be everything.
- 26:26Speaker 2: There has to be one that's like written a book, right,
- 26:29Speaker 2: who's created like a personality and written a book about
- 26:31Speaker 2: some of the stuff that they read. There's movies about that, right.
- 26:33Speaker 7: You saw a friend show about it? Oh that's right
- 26:36Speaker 7: on the wigs one.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but it was a whigs Yeah, you're a hundred
- 26:39Speaker 2: percent right, Yeah, that was great, all right.
- 26:43Speaker 7: It's It's one of the coolest little cornerstones of just
- 26:46Speaker 7: humanity to me is the gossip or the conversation on
- 26:51Speaker 7: a three hour hair point.
- 26:52Speaker 2: But it's not the same for guys. Guys cannot open
- 26:54Speaker 2: up to their stylists like women do. Though, there's no
- 26:57Speaker 2: way like we're your wives. We're not going in there,
- 27:02Speaker 2: we're not sitting down, We're not allowed to. At least
- 27:05Speaker 2: that's the fine. Nobody's talking.
- 27:07Speaker 6: Nobody's talking, Nobody wants to hear it.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Nobody wants to hear it because they got problems too,
- 27:12Speaker 2: and they don't want to have you shut up. Yeah,
- 27:15Speaker 2: all right for seven nine text seven seven zero three
- 27:19Speaker 2: and I'll tell you my story next.
- 27:20Speaker 6: Misuse it.
- 27:24Speaker 7: Good lord, that last traffic report sounded like mad Max
- 27:29Speaker 7: beyond the Thunderdome, Slow down, Orlando.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Good God, Hey guess I hope you guys are doing well.
- 27:36Speaker 2: I don't know what you're talking about. Man, As soon
- 27:38Speaker 2: as you sit on that chair, you go, dish girl.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Thanks bye. All right, Welcome back to the Jim Cober Show,
- 27:47Speaker 2: Real Radio one A four point one.
- 27:49Speaker 3: I'm Jim.
- 27:50Speaker 2: There's dub Jack is here as well. Hi, so is
- 27:54Speaker 2: Ross Danny.
- 27:54Speaker 7: I don't know why he said it like that.
- 27:56Speaker 8: Hi.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Hi, Yeah, I was just looking. It's so funny. I
- 27:59Speaker 2: just saw something that popped up about the movie weekend.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Did you guys see the numbers that Wicked did? No?
- 28:06Speaker 11: No?
- 28:06Speaker 2: Really? Yeah, what do you think number one? It was
- 28:10Speaker 2: number one? Yes, it was number one, box up to
- 28:12Speaker 2: I mean, but what do you think it did? I
- 28:13Speaker 2: mean like number one, because we've had we've had some
- 28:16Speaker 2: movies over the last like three or four five weeks
- 28:17Speaker 2: that you know, number one's been like twenty five thirty
- 28:20Speaker 2: million something like that, and that's a big hole.
- 28:22Speaker 6: Seventy eight million, seventy seven eight.
- 28:27Speaker 2: I want you, guys, I want to say this weekend
- 28:30Speaker 2: here in just the US, I want to make sure
- 28:32Speaker 2: I get the global as well. One fifty domestically, WHOA
- 28:36Speaker 2: to twenty six globally? Wow, Yeah, it is a very
- 28:39Speaker 2: good weekend. But they said the movie isn't as good
- 28:42Speaker 2: or it didn't really hold up to the first one,
- 28:44Speaker 2: and it's getting panned a little bit.
- 28:46Speaker 7: Everyone saw that coming. I'm not even a wicked guy.
- 28:49Speaker 7: But there's two songs that everyone knows from that musical.
- 28:53Speaker 7: Yeah and please do not hate me, but it's popular
- 28:56Speaker 7: and defying gravity. Those are the two songs, okay, and
- 29:00Speaker 7: guess where they were in the first film. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 29:03Speaker 7: they're also I believe I haven't seen the musical, so
- 29:06Speaker 7: I might be speaking a little out of pocket here,
- 29:08Speaker 7: but I also want to say that the movies are
- 29:10Speaker 7: kind of loosely aligned to intermission from the music from
- 29:16Speaker 7: the Broadway performance. Okay, and yeah everyone from the when
- 29:22Speaker 7: you all those Wicked fans who loved it on Broadway
- 29:24Speaker 7: also kind of came to grips with like, man, Act
- 29:27Speaker 7: one is perfect, Act two is good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 29:32Speaker 7: Like that was always the vibe. And I remember asking
- 29:35Speaker 7: my Wicked fanatics of like, aren't you guys kind of
- 29:37Speaker 7: worried about the second film being that the first one
- 29:39Speaker 7: burned through the two massive bangers, and uh yeah, they
- 29:44Speaker 7: kind of saw this one coming up.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it just isn't. It isn't. It doesn't have the
- 29:48Speaker 2: same buzz as the first one, but that's pretty common
- 29:50Speaker 2: with sequels to begin with. But the one thing I
- 29:52Speaker 2: took away from this is like, you know, this is
- 29:53Speaker 2: almost one hundred year old product. Like I mean, they're
- 29:56Speaker 2: still making money off the Wizard of Oz. That thing
- 29:58Speaker 2: was released through in thirty nine. Yeah, and it's still
- 30:01Speaker 2: relevant to this day, still making money. The idea of
- 30:04Speaker 2: that or some iteration of that idea or book is
- 30:07Speaker 2: still getting made. In twenty twenty five and two fifty
- 30:11Speaker 2: domestic box No. One to fifty domestic box office.
- 30:14Speaker 5: They're doing okay, yeah, ye, I'm not feel worried about
- 30:16Speaker 5: what songs are and they're doing fine globally.
- 30:20Speaker 6: America's a theater providers are like, hell yeah.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Bring it Wicked, Yeah, Wicked all you want, and they'll see.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Here's the thing. I mean, it goes with a lot
- 30:27Speaker 2: of those movies that had these weird kind of cult
- 30:30Speaker 2: kind of followings. It's not like somebody's gonna see it
- 30:32Speaker 2: once or twice. I mean there are people who will
- 30:34Speaker 2: see this thing three or four or five times, Like
- 30:36Speaker 2: when it came out. I think my daughter saw it
- 30:37Speaker 2: four times. Oh really, they saw it twice with them,
- 30:40Speaker 2: they may have seen it twice in the same day.
- 30:42Speaker 2: And I know why.
- 30:43Speaker 7: Defying gravity Oh wow, that part ripped well. I mean
- 30:48Speaker 7: they're timeless. They love the whole movie. They quoted the
- 30:50Speaker 7: whole I mean they quote it and stuff, so they
- 30:52Speaker 7: loved it. I mean there was a whole vibe for them.
- 30:53Speaker 2: But they ain't doing that for the second one. No,
- 30:55Speaker 2: I mean I don't. I haven't talked about the second
- 30:57Speaker 2: one yet, so I haven't seen it. Yeah, I'm sure
- 30:58Speaker 2: the second one.
- 31:00Speaker 7: Are you a Wicked fan?
- 31:01Speaker 6: I am I loved it on Broadway.
- 31:03Speaker 2: All right, well it was good. I hope you watch it. Yeah,
- 31:06Speaker 2: I saw. I don't have my fingers crossed. I thought
- 31:09Speaker 2: it was good too. I mean it was good. It
- 31:11Speaker 2: was entertaining, you know. I mean the story is ageless.
- 31:13Speaker 2: I mean, it's one of those things that happened. I
- 31:16Speaker 2: also throw the side of you.
- 31:17Speaker 7: I think it's a little inflammatory there, Jim of calling.
- 31:20Speaker 7: I know this might sound weird, but calling wicked like
- 31:23Speaker 7: Wizard of Oz or saying that like it, yes, character wise,
- 31:27Speaker 7: but that's it almost feels like an entire different crop.
- 31:31Speaker 2: No, it is one hundred percent. What I'm saying is
- 31:33Speaker 2: is those characters or that idea of Oz or the
- 31:36Speaker 2: Wicked Witch. That thing is has lasted almost one hundred years,
- 31:39Speaker 2: still relevant, people still making films about it. And matter
- 31:42Speaker 2: of fact, this never stopped. I mean they had what
- 31:44Speaker 2: was the one with Michael Jackson the Wiz the Wiz.
- 31:47Speaker 2: There was another one as well, so they've made other
- 31:50Speaker 2: iterations of that movie trying to, you know, capitalize on
- 31:53Speaker 2: the idea of oz.
- 31:55Speaker 4: Okay, let's get to the bathroom story. Okay, that's the
- 31:57Speaker 4: reason why I went.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Okay, okay, okay, Okay. So this past weekend, I go
- 32:01Speaker 2: play golf out in the middle of Leesburg, out in nowhere.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Right.
- 32:04Speaker 2: It's a it is a community, for sure, but it
- 32:08Speaker 2: was you know, it's six point thirty in the morning.
- 32:10Speaker 2: It's still dark when we get there, right, because we
- 32:13Speaker 2: love playing golf and we want to be the first
- 32:15Speaker 2: ones out so we can be done and do other
- 32:17Speaker 2: stuff for the rest of our day, right, I guess yeah.
- 32:19Speaker 8: Right.
- 32:20Speaker 2: So I get there and like when I pull into
- 32:23Speaker 2: the parking lot, there is one car in the parking lot,
- 32:26Speaker 2: and it's the guy who works there. It's the guy
- 32:28Speaker 2: who is putting the carts out waiting for everybody. The
- 32:30Speaker 2: pro shops don't even open yet. As a matter of fact,
- 32:33Speaker 2: I have to go to the bathroom pretty bad. I
- 32:34Speaker 2: walk over to the guy and say, hey, you know,
- 32:35Speaker 2: is there a bathroom open? He goes, no, I got
- 32:37Speaker 2: to go get the key for you and open it up.
- 32:39Speaker 2: That's how early it was. They haven't even opened up
- 32:41Speaker 2: the room yet to let people get ready to go play.
- 32:46Speaker 2: So he comes over and he opens it up, and
- 32:47Speaker 2: I'm like, man, this is the greatest. It's like it's
- 32:51Speaker 2: like no one's awake. It's like barely to me and
- 32:53Speaker 2: this dude, this entire golf course. I go into this bathroom,
- 32:57Speaker 2: I treat myself to the handicap stall, and that is
- 33:01Speaker 2: a treat, by the way. And I walk in there
- 33:04Speaker 2: and I sit down, I get my phone. I was like, God, dang,
- 33:07Speaker 2: this is the greatest. It is dead, silent, there is
- 33:11Speaker 2: nothing going on. Nobody is due for a good twenty year. Whatset?
- 33:15Speaker 2: Who's That? Door opens and the dude comes in and
- 33:21Speaker 2: guess where he goes the only open stall right next
- 33:25Speaker 2: to me. Oh so this morning, I'm sitting there and
- 33:30Speaker 2: I'm like, wow, man, out of all the things in
- 33:33Speaker 2: the world I could be doing, and all the peaceful
- 33:36Speaker 2: time I could be having, I could be sitting here alone,
- 33:40Speaker 2: enjoying this time, getting ready. But no, this guy from
- 33:43Speaker 2: nowhere comes out and sits in the one stall that's
- 33:47Speaker 2: text to me. This stool stalls in this entire bathroom.
- 33:49Speaker 2: This guy sits to the one right next to me,
- 33:51Speaker 2: and he tries to do that thing where you flush
- 33:52Speaker 2: the toilet so you can't hear what's happening. It didn't work.
- 33:57Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm sitting there, I'm like, is this a joke?
- 33:59Speaker 2: Like it where where else does this happened? It is literally
- 34:01Speaker 2: six twenty eight am. There is nobody else on this
- 34:05Speaker 2: entire property, and I can't have five minutes to do
- 34:08Speaker 2: this by myself. And I'm sitting there and I'm pissed off,
- 34:12Speaker 2: and I'm pissed off. The guy gets up, he leaves,
- 34:14Speaker 2: washes his hands, gets out, and I'm like, oh, oh,
- 34:18Speaker 2: now we're good. The lights are on a timer. Guess
- 34:27Speaker 2: where the motion sensor is? On the other side of
- 34:30Speaker 2: the stall I'm in. I dropped my phone, can't find it.
- 34:36Speaker 4: Oh, and on the floor of a men's bathroom.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Six thirty am, sitting in the dark morning, ruined lights
- 34:46Speaker 2: go out. I'm waving my hands frantically trying to get
- 34:49Speaker 2: some motion since it go off, so I can find
- 34:51Speaker 2: my cell phone. By the way, still doing the thing
- 34:55Speaker 2: that still can't even look it took me a minute.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Don't even find the toilet paper dispenser. He was wiping
- 35:00Speaker 2: the dark. Yeah, yeah, all out of the dark.
- 35:02Speaker 7: And you've got like ankle handcuffs, oh.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, shorts around there. Can't do anything. That
- 35:09Speaker 2: was the it was, You're just waddling all around. I'm like,
- 35:14Speaker 2: bit of all the things like I'd be like, ex,
- 35:16Speaker 2: give me five minutes, just five minutes this time alone.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Before I got five minutes, the guy was the guy
- 35:23Speaker 2: was dark that the guy was the guy I'm playing with.
- 35:27Speaker 2: The guy was my playing partner. But he didn't say
- 35:29Speaker 2: anything because he was in the same mood I was in.
- 35:32Speaker 2: He's like, I just went into there, have five minutes
- 35:33Speaker 2: by myself.
- 35:35Speaker 7: And then you were flailing.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Guys, you have no idea. I'm sitting there like.
- 35:38Speaker 7: You're trying to sell cars.
- 35:39Speaker 2: I'm sitting there and I calmed down from all that.
- 35:42Speaker 2: I'm like, Okay, this is now, We're back. And then
- 35:44Speaker 2: the lights go out. And then and when I tried
- 35:46Speaker 2: to ship to find out what's going on, I dropped
- 35:48Speaker 2: my phone and I've got one of these. I've got
- 35:50Speaker 2: one of those gorilla cases what's it called outer box
- 35:53Speaker 2: cases where it's like a quarter inch of rubber. It hills.
- 35:56Speaker 2: I can literally hear it bounce. It bounces, hits on
- 35:58Speaker 2: the corner and bounces across the room, like just from
- 36:01Speaker 2: spatial recognition, I know it's out of my reach. Yeah,
- 36:05Speaker 2: atters move quick. Anyway, That's my story. That's why you say, hey, Siri,
- 36:10Speaker 2: play real Radio one. O four point one on iHeart Radio.
- 36:13Speaker 5: I should have done that, and your phone would have
- 36:15Speaker 5: started making noise and you would have been able to
- 36:17Speaker 5: find you.
- 36:17Speaker 2: I didn't even think of that. I was too busy
- 36:19Speaker 2: cursing and yelling the F word.
- 36:22Speaker 7: I uh, this is how big foot encounters happened. You're
- 36:28Speaker 7: you flailing in that bathroom. Someone's like, something's therebody.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Somebody looked at mad coyote in the bathroom.
- 36:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I bet everyone's real. Please you just set their
- 36:40Speaker 4: phones off, tack.
- 36:41Speaker 2: I just set my golf all right, four seven nine
- 36:44Speaker 2: six one o four one. Text us at seven seven
- 36:48Speaker 2: zero what how'd you play? I played okay. I mean
- 36:51Speaker 2: I think I shot seventy nine.
- 36:53Speaker 6: I thought you said you're gonna played like crap.
- 36:55Speaker 2: No, No, played great, I just stop. I mean, three
- 36:59Speaker 2: big numbers, but play very well.
- 37:02Speaker 6: No wonder you were sitting there for so long.
- 37:04Speaker 7: No, you made four big numbers, three of them on
- 37:07Speaker 7: the golf.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Cour played like grap on number two four seven nine
- 37:15Speaker 2: one six one four one. Again, you can text us
- 37:18Speaker 2: at seven seven zero three one back in one second
- 37:22Speaker 2: with more than Jim Colbert Show.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Today is mo Better Way Ross Paget sponsored by jos Como,
- 37:29Speaker 1: Orlando's injury attorneys.
- 37:41Speaker 17: Speaking of Wicked, the best part about Act two is
- 37:52Speaker 17: revealing how each of the characters in the Wizard of Oz.
- 37:56Speaker 18: Came to be pure genius on the writer spoiler alert.
- 38:02Speaker 19: Yeah, well, Jimmy, I think you've just given us the
- 38:07Speaker 19: funniest visual ever on this show since Ross's mother in
- 38:12Speaker 19: law found the sock his sucks.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good one.
- 38:17Speaker 7: One sock, not plural. Not a monster.
- 38:21Speaker 2: I would have I would have agreed to have that.
- 38:23Speaker 7: SI you're a monster, Yes you are. It should have
- 38:29Speaker 7: been plural socks O.
- 38:30Speaker 2: No one sock.
- 38:31Speaker 7: I'm green.
- 38:32Speaker 6: Yeah, and so is the sock.
- 38:34Speaker 2: While yeah, it wasn't it wasn't green. I know.
- 38:36Speaker 5: We just I just replayed that a couple of weeks
- 38:39Speaker 5: ago for a best of that that that might land
- 38:41Speaker 5: on Christmas Day.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll play that one for sure.
- 38:45Speaker 6: That's the gift that keeps on giving.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Welcome back on Jim, there's deb hell yeah and sauce.
- 38:50Speaker 2: It's true and it's funny today he told it. I
- 38:53Speaker 2: do it. I'm like that thing's gonna live on forever.
- 38:55Speaker 7: I remember Jim's face when I was doing that segment
- 38:59Speaker 7: where you were actually kind of looking out for me,
- 39:02Speaker 7: but also being a radio host for your own show
- 39:04Speaker 7: and your own program and trying to make the best
- 39:06Speaker 7: show possible. But you also care for me to a
- 39:09Speaker 7: certain degree a little behind the scenes, and you knew
- 39:12Speaker 7: that I was really opening up a Pan Torre's box.
- 39:16Speaker 2: I'm like, what do you do You knew at that
- 39:18Speaker 2: moment that I didn't know. Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 39:22Speaker 2: you're a new But I'm like, you have no idea.
- 39:24Speaker 2: You're gonna live with this forever.
- 39:25Speaker 7: This is your Catfay, this is your catfish.
- 39:27Speaker 2: People are not going to forget. You're gonna want them
- 39:30Speaker 2: to forget. They're not gonna forget. And matter of fact,
- 39:32Speaker 2: the more you want them to forget, the more and
- 39:34Speaker 2: the harder they remember.
- 39:35Speaker 7: Man, I'm there to make people laugh, So if it
- 39:37Speaker 7: makes me laugh, let's do it.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Hey, Deba, we have a scenario. I don't want to
- 39:43Speaker 2: do this. Well, no, I was just trying to think
- 39:45Speaker 2: out loud because I had another story I wanted to
- 39:47Speaker 2: talk about because we've already talked about it. It's about
- 39:49Speaker 2: the locksmith. Right, Well, we'll do that real quick. Did
- 39:51Speaker 2: you did you read the story from that? What this
- 39:54Speaker 2: statement from the police department was no, I found it
- 39:58Speaker 2: very interesting, all right, and the reason and why is this?
- 40:00Speaker 2: Like I and again I asked these questions because I
- 40:04Speaker 2: do not understand the protocol of how things work. Remember
- 40:07Speaker 2: we talked about this last week for a situation. I'm like, well,
- 40:09Speaker 2: I just I'm asking him because I don't know, you know,
- 40:11Speaker 2: I mean, if these situations are how things are supposed
- 40:15Speaker 2: to go, I guess that's what it is. So we
- 40:17Speaker 2: all know the story. The unfortunately, the woman, the female
- 40:21Speaker 2: officer that was shot this past weekend, deputy deputy, right,
- 40:25Speaker 2: she now is a sergeant ye posthumously put that way.
- 40:29Speaker 2: They were trying to just simply evict a guy from
- 40:31Speaker 2: a house. By the way, this is a very nice neighborhood.
- 40:33Speaker 2: You knew that, right, Oh yeah, and a very affluent neighborhood.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Is his mom. He lived with her, thirty five years old,
- 40:40Speaker 2: had some issues, just lost his job, had behavioral issues.
- 40:44Speaker 2: And as you read the story, and it says they
- 40:46Speaker 2: were killed while we're responding to a home to evict
- 40:48Speaker 2: this guy, Michael Haberstram, Haberstram from his mom from their request.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Now it goes on to talk about you know, how
- 40:55Speaker 2: their hearts are broken. Of course, there's no question that's
- 40:57Speaker 2: a case. Also talked about Deputy are A Respee as
- 41:02Speaker 2: pay arispai r r A r I zpe. Yeah, there
- 41:08Speaker 2: you go. Maybe so right. I don't know, I don't know,
- 41:14Speaker 2: but I just don't want to be disrespectful of the
- 41:15Speaker 2: guy's name. You know, he was shot in the in
- 41:17Speaker 2: the line of duty.
- 41:18Speaker 6: But it says he is home recovering.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, he's doing good. Right. So the thing that
- 41:24Speaker 2: that kind of hit me oddly is it says it
- 41:27Speaker 2: says the Sheriff's office said deputy has been called to
- 41:30Speaker 2: the home seven times this month.
- 41:33Speaker 6: Yeah, just this month.
- 41:36Speaker 2: It's just the twenty what it's the twenty fourth every
- 41:39Speaker 2: three days that are there, So every three days the
- 41:42Speaker 2: cops were called to this house for this entire month
- 41:45Speaker 2: of November. Right. He said he had had recently been fired.
- 41:50Speaker 2: He had made terrible comments on social media about his
- 41:53Speaker 2: former workplace. Also makes a ton of negative, negative posts
- 41:57Speaker 2: about the Indian River Sheriff's apartment. This is the quote
- 42:00Speaker 2: from the Sheriff's apartment. This is not someone who is
- 42:02Speaker 2: on our radar, Oh my, is not someone that we
- 42:07Speaker 2: were actively engaged with this was a standard call for service?
- 42:13Speaker 2: After seven times to the house in twenty four to eight,
- 42:18Speaker 2: actually even less than that when it happened, So twenty
- 42:22Speaker 2: one days, seven visits to one home in twenty one
- 42:25Speaker 2: days isn't on your radar?
- 42:29Speaker 20: Like?
- 42:29Speaker 2: What is?
- 42:29Speaker 3: Then?
- 42:31Speaker 2: This is a fair question, what's on your radar? If
- 42:33Speaker 2: being called to one house seven times in twenty one
- 42:38Speaker 2: days isn't on your radar? What is this is a
- 42:42Speaker 2: standard service call? Seven times you've been there? I would
- 42:45Speaker 2: think the eighth time would be like not so standard,
- 42:49Speaker 2: Like being called to one house four or five, six,
- 42:52Speaker 2: eight times, that's not standard. Right. If you lived across
- 42:55Speaker 2: the house the road from somebody and for twenty one days,
- 42:58Speaker 2: every three days you saw cops outside the car that
- 43:02Speaker 2: are outside the house, that would be not standard, right,
- 43:05Speaker 2: You would ask, what the hell is going on? Is
- 43:07Speaker 2: my family and my neighborhood safe?
- 43:12Speaker 5: Maybe they the interactions were more benign like those first
- 43:19Speaker 5: seven times. It's like they go, they talked to him,
- 43:21Speaker 5: they settle them down, and maybe they didn't perceive him
- 43:24Speaker 5: as a threat, which is why he wasn't on their radar.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but he makes these comments about his former workplace
- 43:30Speaker 2: and then starts making comments about the Sheriff's department, and
- 43:32Speaker 2: that seems odd. But I mean, and then visit seven
- 43:34Speaker 2: times and still not on the radar.
- 43:36Speaker 4: But still even without that, I don't know what else
- 43:38Speaker 4: they could have done. I mean, there were two responding
- 43:40Speaker 4: deputies along with the locksmith, so they had the law enforcement.
- 43:44Speaker 4: You know, it's not that they just sent the locksmith
- 43:46Speaker 4: over on his own.
- 43:48Speaker 2: And you know, so let me ask though, this is
- 43:51Speaker 2: I mean, to me, this is fascinating. So you have
- 43:53Speaker 2: someone hold up in a house you've been there seven times.
- 43:56Speaker 2: Mom wants them out, You have an inviction notice, it's
- 43:58Speaker 2: all legal. They knock on the door. I'm not coming out.
- 44:03Speaker 2: So the next move is just to have the locksmith
- 44:06Speaker 2: pop the lock.
- 44:07Speaker 6: I would imagine.
- 44:08Speaker 2: So it's not to get the person out of the
- 44:09Speaker 2: house that you don't know isn't standing back there with
- 44:11Speaker 2: the weapons like you've called them seven times. Seven times.
- 44:15Speaker 6: We don't know what the calls were though.
- 44:16Speaker 4: We don't know if it was because they were fighting
- 44:18Speaker 4: and so Mom called the police to you know, we
- 44:21Speaker 4: don't know what they called for.
- 44:23Speaker 2: Right, And just let me ask you would you ask
- 44:25Speaker 2: that same question if this was happening across your house.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Would you like if this was happening in my next
- 44:29Speaker 2: door neighbor and the cops are called seven times in
- 44:31Speaker 2: twenty one days. I almost would, I mean like I would,
- 44:33Speaker 2: I would be asking like, what are you going to
- 44:35Speaker 2: this house over and over for? I mean again, am
- 44:37Speaker 2: I safe? Is my family safe? You're visiting this house perpetually?
- 44:44Speaker 7: Just to play more Devil's advocate to keep the convo going,
- 44:48Speaker 7: is that do we know were they the same police
- 44:50Speaker 7: officers showing up?
- 44:52Speaker 10: Don't?
- 44:52Speaker 2: I don't know, but there would be a record that
- 44:54Speaker 2: they're visiting in this house over and over. You trust me,
- 44:56Speaker 2: if your house was being visited over and over again,
- 44:58Speaker 2: but people would know.
- 44:59Speaker 7: But that But that's important though, because with that train
- 45:02Speaker 7: of thought, it's very easy, like I hear you, and
- 45:06Speaker 7: to be honest with you, I agree with you more
- 45:08Speaker 7: than I disagree, but with me in agreement, that assessment,
- 45:13Speaker 7: that take that you have already kind of feels like
- 45:15Speaker 7: it's the same police officer showing up. And that does
- 45:19Speaker 7: make a difference because now they're invested in the scenario
- 45:22Speaker 7: six seven h seven seven times over. Then you have
- 45:26Speaker 7: new faces doing the first impression seven separate times yeah, Yeah,
- 45:31Speaker 7: that's different because the scenario of like if you were
- 45:33Speaker 7: if you saw your neighbor's house, I have that police
- 45:36Speaker 7: officer that amount of times in a month, Well, the
- 45:40Speaker 7: officers aren't going through that cause it's a different officer
- 45:44Speaker 7: every time. They're still doing Yeah, they have the record.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I was gonna say, there's gonna be a
- 45:48Speaker 2: record of what happened when that, when that visit happened,
- 45:50Speaker 2: or the interaction happened.
- 45:51Speaker 7: Right, But even then you're just refreshing the tab, kind
- 45:55Speaker 7: of just starting the thing all over again.
- 45:57Speaker 5: Text from a police lieutenant says they work in this
- 46:00Speaker 5: somewhat affluent area and it happens more than you think.
- 46:03Speaker 2: They have their repeat customers. Yeah, and again I'm sure
- 46:08Speaker 2: of that. But you know, when you couple this up
- 46:10Speaker 2: with what this guy was saying online, I think that anybody,
- 46:14Speaker 2: I mean, in police departments, they have people who deal
- 46:17Speaker 2: with the psychiatric issues that people have, like you can't.
- 46:20Speaker 2: I mean, seven times is really abnormal. I would I
- 46:23Speaker 2: would even like I would, I would, you know, talk
- 46:25Speaker 2: to that guy you're talking to the texting stories. I
- 46:27Speaker 2: wish I had hours and you know, kind of find
- 46:29Speaker 2: out it's like normal it's again. I mean, I mean,
- 46:31Speaker 2: if somebody came to your house, set I I've literally
- 46:33Speaker 2: had the I just give you an eye. I've had
- 46:36Speaker 2: cops come to my house. And I was just thinking
- 46:38Speaker 2: about this this morning when I read this story, and
- 46:40Speaker 2: I kind of formed this opinion of this. If I
- 46:43Speaker 2: had to count the amount of times that an officer
- 46:45Speaker 2: has been on my property, how many times do you
- 46:48Speaker 2: think I can remember? That's happened in my entire life twice,
- 46:53Speaker 2: and one time I called them to report of stolen
- 46:56Speaker 2: my car being broken into, So in my entire life twice,
- 47:01Speaker 2: cops have been on my property seven times in twenty
- 47:04Speaker 2: one days.
- 47:05Speaker 7: And that's abnormal to us. But it's not abnormal to
- 47:08Speaker 7: police officers. I'm assuming just because it's their job. It's
- 47:13Speaker 7: day in, day out. We only know about this story
- 47:16Speaker 7: because of the tragedy. We don't know how abnormal it is.
- 47:19Speaker 7: There's probably plenty of instances. I just watched an entire documentary,
- 47:23Speaker 7: my perfect neighbor, I.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Believe that you watched that.
- 47:26Speaker 7: Yeah, I watched it, and guess what, it's way more
- 47:29Speaker 7: than seven times.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and that look what happened. I'm exactly let
- 47:34Speaker 2: me look what happened. But I mean they visit her
- 47:36Speaker 2: seven times, and you eventually winds up killing in this woman.
- 47:40Speaker 7: But there's just so like I use that as an
- 47:43Speaker 7: example in the sense of, like, we know how often
- 47:46Speaker 7: those police officers were there because of the tragedy. All
- 47:50Speaker 7: these scenarios without a tragedy at the end, is what
- 47:53Speaker 7: we would compare this to.
- 47:55Speaker 2: And I guess that's my question. Ross's I wonder what
- 47:56Speaker 2: the protocol is? I mean, how many times is it twenty? Yeah?
- 47:59Speaker 2: Is it fifteen times? When you finally start taking it
- 48:02Speaker 2: seriously or doing something different? I mean, when is it
- 48:04Speaker 2: how many times? Ten?
- 48:05Speaker 7: It's a very good question. I don't say answer, but
- 48:08Speaker 7: would I would give that number a lot of grace
- 48:12Speaker 7: because I'm so ignorant to what a police officer's day in,
- 48:16Speaker 7: day out, call in, call out, go in, make the paperwork,
- 48:20Speaker 7: do that.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Kind of why I'm asking the question. And I say
- 48:22Speaker 2: this innocently. I truthfully do not know what the protocol is.
- 48:25Speaker 2: But when you read the story and that statement on
- 48:27Speaker 2: the surface, it does not add up. I mean, I
- 48:30Speaker 2: don't know that any personal listening to us right now
- 48:32Speaker 2: would say if somebody got called to the cops, got
- 48:35Speaker 2: called to their neighbor's house seven times and twenty one days,
- 48:38Speaker 2: that they would be cool with that, Like, as a neighbor,
- 48:39Speaker 2: I think you'd be asking.
- 48:41Speaker 6: But I don't know what else they could do.
- 48:42Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't either.
- 48:44Speaker 5: Yeah, the locksmith that they had come unlocked the door,
- 48:48Speaker 5: civilian locksmith.
- 48:49Speaker 2: Yeah, probably worked with the police before. Yeah.
- 48:52Speaker 5: Is he entitled to anything beyond anything special? I mean,
- 48:56Speaker 5: he was killed in the line of real act?
- 49:00Speaker 2: Question do they?
- 49:01Speaker 5: I mean, is there some sort of compensation to the
- 49:04Speaker 5: family funeral expenses?
- 49:06Speaker 2: Again? I think that And doesn't that kind of go
- 49:08Speaker 2: back to the argument I'm making here, Like, you know,
- 49:10Speaker 2: could the family make that same argument if they were
- 49:12Speaker 2: looking for a compensation of some sort? Like, how could
- 49:14Speaker 2: you possibly not know that there was a situation that
- 49:16Speaker 2: get mean, why not clear the house first? Yeah? You know,
- 49:19Speaker 2: why not clear the house? Why? I mean, if it
- 49:21Speaker 2: was that important to get this guy out of there,
- 49:24Speaker 2: I mean, why not go in hot and clear the house.
- 49:26Speaker 2: She's asked for it to happen. She's called seven times
- 49:29Speaker 2: in twenty one days. This guy's got a bad attitude,
- 49:31Speaker 2: he said, he puts it online, lost his job, He's
- 49:34Speaker 2: got all the earmark signs that he's cracking.
- 49:39Speaker 7: There's there's a lot, Like it's hard for me to
- 49:42Speaker 7: get on board with, Like, there's all these signs. Why
- 49:45Speaker 7: how did they not pick up on the signs? I'm like, dude,
- 49:47Speaker 7: there's three hundred and eighty million people. Yeah, Like it's
- 49:52Speaker 7: you want pre cogs in a milk bag.
- 49:53Speaker 3: You know.
- 49:54Speaker 2: But what I'm saying is, but seven seven visits is
- 49:57Speaker 2: kind of a pre cog, is it not. I don't know,
- 50:00Speaker 2: in seven times.
- 50:01Speaker 7: If you compare it to other squatter incidents, I don't know.
- 50:05Speaker 2: I know that when you have one of those houses,
- 50:06Speaker 2: like a drug house, like they just kind of that
- 50:08Speaker 2: compound thing, you know. That's one of the things they
- 50:11Speaker 2: talk about, right, That's the one thing officers and pios
- 50:15Speaker 2: themselves say, how we went there twenty times. We've been
- 50:18Speaker 2: there so many times we had to do something, you know,
- 50:21Speaker 2: And I just found that a little odd for them
- 50:23Speaker 2: to have been there seven times, have all this other
- 50:24Speaker 2: evidence and then to say, hey, this is a new
- 50:26Speaker 2: one on us. We had no idea it was gonna
- 50:28Speaker 2: turn ount like this.
- 50:28Speaker 5: And maybe I mean the frequent see because you know,
- 50:31Speaker 5: like seven times, there was no issue figuring the eighth
- 50:34Speaker 5: time would be just the same.
- 50:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, maybe so.
- 50:37Speaker 7: And I bet you the the wealthy aspect of this
- 50:41Speaker 7: that it's in a nice home and a nice house.
- 50:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that probably applied. Yeah, I would think you get.
- 50:46Speaker 7: To seven if you have a broken out window. I
- 50:49Speaker 7: don't think you get the seven calls if you've got
- 50:51Speaker 7: bars over your window.
- 50:52Speaker 3: Damn?
- 50:53Speaker 2: How many times, deb do you happen to know how
- 50:54Speaker 2: many times that the cops are called to Lorenz's house
- 50:57Speaker 2: so that whole time? I mean, I know that we
- 50:59Speaker 2: read a lot of that case. I don't remember. I
- 51:01Speaker 2: know it was multiple times.
- 51:02Speaker 4: Yeah, and again you know kind of like in this case,
- 51:06Speaker 4: they go pop the lock and open the door and
- 51:09Speaker 4: he just starts firing indiscriminately.
- 51:11Speaker 6: So there was no barricade situation.
- 51:13Speaker 4: There was no situation for them to bring out their
- 51:15Speaker 4: swat team, right you know. And then you also have
- 51:17Speaker 4: to figure out how big is the Indian River Sheriff's office,
- 51:20Speaker 4: right y y, you know, they probably don't run into
- 51:23Speaker 4: and it's like, to Ross's point about the neighborhood looking
- 51:26Speaker 4: that way, maybe that had their guard down a little
- 51:28Speaker 4: bit more.
- 51:29Speaker 2: So you're saying, if this is Castlebury, they go in
- 51:31Speaker 2: hot they take that ram thing in the I don't
- 51:33Speaker 2: think they do, because they busted off the hinges and
- 51:35Speaker 2: just roll in there.
- 51:35Speaker 4: Take that now now because legally, what what right do
- 51:38Speaker 4: they have? This is a standard eviction. It's like the
- 51:40Speaker 4: sheriff himself said this was standard protocol.
- 51:44Speaker 7: I was just more along those lines of saying that,
- 51:47Speaker 7: especially if it's a smaller town that then you know,
- 51:50Speaker 7: seven calls might be all of their calls because it's
- 51:53Speaker 7: one neighbor. I don't know how big this city is
- 51:56Speaker 7: or the population is, but that can also warp the
- 51:59Speaker 7: number of calls and stuff.
- 52:01Speaker 2: But yeah, Indian rivers like Port Saint Lucy in that
- 52:03Speaker 2: area down there.
- 52:04Speaker 7: I think, I think evictions, and I would say not
- 52:08Speaker 7: as nice neighborhoods or just more populated cities. They're on
- 52:12Speaker 7: a time frame a little bit more, I would say.
- 52:14Speaker 4: So as of twenty twenty four, Vero Beach, which is
- 52:17Speaker 4: where this took place, has a population of seventeen thousand,
- 52:21Speaker 4: five hundred and fifty six.
- 52:23Speaker 7: Yeah, that's not too many.
- 52:25Speaker 2: It's not big. It's surpriz's that small. Yeah, I mean,
- 52:30Speaker 2: you know, and it's not big, And I mean I
- 52:32Speaker 2: don't know that the size of the police department really
- 52:35Speaker 2: matters here. I mean it was one guy, yeah, living
- 52:39Speaker 2: with his mother.
- 52:39Speaker 4: But you're also talking about resources that they may or
- 52:42Speaker 4: may not have. They may not have deputies that are
- 52:45Speaker 4: just going to mental health crisis calls.
- 52:48Speaker 6: They may not have the budget for that.
- 52:50Speaker 2: Yeah, understood. And it's county, it's not city, right, right,
- 52:54Speaker 2: it's a sheriff's department.
- 52:55Speaker 6: Yeah, it's the Indian River Sheriff's office.
- 52:56Speaker 2: What is the texting service? Sing? Jack? Ours isn't working today,
- 52:59Speaker 2: So I don't really have an idea of what he
- 53:01Speaker 2: is killing me. But I mean, are are people also
- 53:04Speaker 2: kind of wondering why are they? Are they? And we're
- 53:06Speaker 2: not saying this is an agree or disagree between us.
- 53:08Speaker 2: I'm just bringing up a point I'm not trying to make.
- 53:10Speaker 2: I'm not trying to make the cops look bad or
- 53:12Speaker 2: anything like that. I'm actually trying to figure out what
- 53:13Speaker 2: protocol is when it comes to these things. Because we
- 53:15Speaker 2: have an innocent guy that's seventy six years old and
- 53:17Speaker 2: he's dead.
- 53:18Speaker 5: Yeah, and the officer as well, we have someone who
- 53:22Speaker 5: works in law enforcement says it depends on previous interactions.
- 53:25Speaker 5: If there were signs of violence. They can flag the
- 53:28Speaker 5: house as danger, but if not, it wouldn't have been flagged.
- 53:32Speaker 2: With the mother saying that she's afraid of him, would
- 53:34Speaker 2: that have been a precursor to go in hot Did
- 53:38Speaker 2: she ever say that? Did she ever make a claim
- 53:40Speaker 2: that she was afraid of this guy?
- 53:41Speaker 4: We don't know, But again, they already had two deputies responding.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:45Speaker 4: Yeah, outside of a barricade situation, you have to think
- 53:48Speaker 4: of the legality of what if they go into hot
- 53:51Speaker 4: and write and he gets killed or she gets killed,
- 53:53Speaker 4: and then they say, well, we never meant you know,
- 53:56Speaker 4: we didn't need that, and then all of a sudden
- 53:57Speaker 4: the sheriff's office is being sued.
- 53:59Speaker 2: Isn't that that?
- 54:00Speaker 7: Because that's the all of their alternate dimension, is that
- 54:03Speaker 7: they there isn't a seventh call and they show up
- 54:05Speaker 7: on the second one, and this something along the line
- 54:08Speaker 7: still happened because they come in too hot. Yeah, so
- 54:11Speaker 7: that is also a reality that I'm sure that has
- 54:14Speaker 7: happened before.
- 54:14Speaker 2: I wonder if going into this, since it was their
- 54:17Speaker 2: seventh seventh visit to the house, did they know that
- 54:20Speaker 2: he had weapons? Do that mean in any of those
- 54:24Speaker 2: other interactions with the mom. Did the mom tell the
- 54:27Speaker 2: officers that he had weapons, that he was armed, or
- 54:29Speaker 2: they that there were weapons in the house? Did they
- 54:31Speaker 2: know that? Did the mom ever talk about being afraid
- 54:34Speaker 2: of this guy? I mean, she was evicting your own son.
- 54:37Speaker 2: I'd like the thing. I mean, wouldn't that that would
- 54:39Speaker 2: come in play?
- 54:39Speaker 3: I don't.
- 54:40Speaker 2: I'm not sure if the mom lived in.
- 54:41Speaker 6: That house now, I don't believe she.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Yes, she didn't. That's that's why they didn't have a key.
- 54:45Speaker 2: That's why they were using a lot exactly, gotcha.
- 54:48Speaker 7: I would like to think that the thought of hey,
- 54:51Speaker 7: do we know whether or not the person in this
- 54:53Speaker 7: home that we are breaking using a locksmith to get
- 54:56Speaker 7: into has a weapon? I hope to God that they
- 54:59Speaker 7: had asked that question, or at least had that thought beforehand.
- 55:03Speaker 2: I wonder if they tried to contact him via like
- 55:06Speaker 2: just just talk to him through the door while they
- 55:07Speaker 2: were doing this. I don't remember any like that. There's
- 55:10Speaker 2: been very little information about what happened in the interaction
- 55:12Speaker 2: beforehand going in. No, it was it just opened the
- 55:15Speaker 2: door and they went in and he started firing.
- 55:17Speaker 4: I mean, so, even if they knew that he had
- 55:19Speaker 4: a weapon, if he didn't say anything that he was
- 55:22Speaker 4: threatening him with it. Yeah, I mean they can't go
- 55:24Speaker 4: in there and bust his door down, because I mean,
- 55:26Speaker 4: this is Florida.
- 55:27Speaker 2: Did they even know he was home? Did they even
- 55:30Speaker 2: know if the guy.
- 55:30Speaker 6: Was asking questions that nobody can answer.
- 55:33Speaker 2: I don't know if he was even I mean, I
- 55:34Speaker 2: don't even know if they knew he was home. That's
- 55:37Speaker 2: what I wonder. If it changed the protocol this, but
- 55:38Speaker 2: they didn't think he was home. They were just going
- 55:40Speaker 2: to change the locks and then just lock his ass
- 55:42Speaker 2: out and let him come back and trash it out,
- 55:43Speaker 2: which is calm. And I've actually experienced that, you know,
- 55:46Speaker 2: from dealing with the real estate for years.
- 55:48Speaker 5: Text are saying the Orchid Island area where that's happened
- 55:52Speaker 5: is an affluent area. It's not in Vero, It's I
- 55:56Speaker 5: assume close to it, but for a county and the
- 55:58Speaker 5: sheriff's department, it wouldn't be the incorporated city by Orchid Island.
- 56:03Speaker 5: Orchid Island area, it says, the highest net worth per
- 56:07Speaker 5: capita according New Texters.
- 56:09Speaker 2: Oh well, yeah, yes, I mean it's nice.
- 56:12Speaker 7: Yeah, and I do think that plays a role.
- 56:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I would agree. I think the affluence of
- 56:17Speaker 2: the neighborhood would certainly allow you more leeway than living
- 56:21Speaker 2: in a in a challenged area, that's for sure.
- 56:24Speaker 7: It's just what if I'm in a nicer neighborhood, I
- 56:26Speaker 7: think my chances of bad things go down. When I'm
- 56:29Speaker 7: in a bad neighborhood, I think of my bad thing
- 56:32Speaker 7: chance going on?
- 56:34Speaker 3: All right?
- 56:34Speaker 2: Four O seven nine four one text us at seven
- 56:37Speaker 2: seven zero three one depth. We have a mystery in
- 56:40Speaker 2: Lusia County and it's a really odd one. I'll tell
- 56:44Speaker 2: you about it next. Hello everyone, Simply Jeremy here.
- 56:59Speaker 18: So I was a property manager for about ten years
- 57:02Speaker 18: and I've done several editions, set outs the whole nine yards.
- 57:05Speaker 18: So when you show up there, you have the constable,
- 57:07Speaker 18: which is an officer of the court, and of course
- 57:10Speaker 18: locksmith if you can't get in, but I mean the
- 57:13Speaker 18: locksmith's got to pop a lock. You can't tell if
- 57:15Speaker 18: the guy's going to shoot through the door. That's a
- 57:17Speaker 18: really sad situation, but it happens.
- 57:19Speaker 2: People are crazy.
- 57:21Speaker 21: Vero Beach resident who actually knows both of the people
- 57:26Speaker 21: involved in this situation. It is normally protocol to have
- 57:33Speaker 21: a locksmith, so a door doesn't have to be busted down.
- 57:38Speaker 6: Period.
- 57:39Speaker 21: But my bigger question about all of this is the
- 57:42Speaker 21: fact that the mother was there.
- 57:45Speaker 3: Why didn't she have a key to the house? Question mark?
- 57:50Speaker 6: I love that talk to text.
- 57:52Speaker 2: I've done that.
- 57:53Speaker 5: I've done it a couple I usually catch it and
- 57:55Speaker 5: we'll re record, right, Sometimes you're just not aware I
- 57:59Speaker 5: missed it.
- 57:59Speaker 2: Once you get what are you guys loving at?
- 58:00Speaker 4: Oh you didn't hear him say periodiod question said question mark.
- 58:05Speaker 5: Yeah, because when you're doing voice to text sending a message,
- 58:08Speaker 5: you know, you throwing the punctuation. Although it's getting better
- 58:11Speaker 5: and just reading it. But yeah, sometimes when you're leaving
- 58:14Speaker 5: a voicemail.
- 58:15Speaker 2: You still do that.
- 58:17Speaker 7: Have you guys had Siri read an image sent to
- 58:21Speaker 7: you yet?
- 58:22Speaker 15: No?
- 58:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that is eerie. Hey, welcome back. I'm Jim, deb
- 58:25Speaker 2: Jack and Ross here as well.
- 58:26Speaker 7: If you have your phone connected to car play and
- 58:30Speaker 7: then you get a text of an image, Siri will
- 58:33Speaker 7: say Olivia sent a text of a book saying with
- 58:37Speaker 7: this cover and a dog in the back.
- 58:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that's very cool.
- 58:40Speaker 5: I didn't describe the picture like someone at the beach,
- 58:43Speaker 5: you know, you know, having fun.
- 58:45Speaker 7: Now, Yeah, you can look at that and go, that
- 58:48Speaker 7: is a cool feature.
- 58:48Speaker 2: And then you could also look at that and go.
- 58:50Speaker 6: How yeah, don't ask that.
- 58:58Speaker 2: You you can look.
- 58:59Speaker 7: That means algorithms or just software is picking up on
- 59:03Speaker 7: your images and like what and who?
- 59:07Speaker 2: Somebody everything? Somebody sent you a picture and she has
- 59:10Speaker 2: ice cream. Yeah, yeah, it is.
- 59:14Speaker 7: That is an interesting reality and it's really crazy to
- 59:17Speaker 7: us because we lived in a life before it.
- 59:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that's crazy. I did not know that. I actually
- 59:22Speaker 2: always wondered how that would how and what would happen
- 59:25Speaker 2: if you did that?
- 59:26Speaker 6: You should send a d pict to your wife and
- 59:27Speaker 6: asks Siri to describe it?
- 59:28Speaker 7: Oh my god, Jim Corblert has sent Portobello mushroom.
- 59:38Speaker 5: Let's let's amiss the fact that that idea came from
- 59:40Speaker 5: Deb's head.
- 59:43Speaker 7: Cut long ways, Oh, long ways, it's a long ways Portobello.
- 59:52Speaker 2: Jim sent photograph reminding you to pick up smokies my wife.
- 59:59Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, Ross, your husband has sent a photo of
- 1:00:03Speaker 7: a Harry Potter.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: Wand would it try to describe like or would it
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: you say, like if you sent a nude like, would
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: it just say you received a photograph of a nude woman?
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: Is that what it would say? It might let's try it.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: Let's try it.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: I would.
- 1:00:18Speaker 7: I mean, the only way I've ever have it had
- 1:00:22Speaker 7: it work is during car play.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: Oh oh, it won't just like oh I see.
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: No, but if you have your air pods in and
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: if you're listening to and you get it like, there's
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: a way to do it.
- 1:00:35Speaker 7: I don't know if you want me to figure it
- 1:00:36Speaker 7: out live on air.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: No no, no no, I mean we don't need to do that.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: But I do want to hear how it describes My
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: photo seems to have been enlarged. It seems to be
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: very excited. Someone sent you a lie. That's what happens. Man.
- 1:00:53Speaker 7: I know I shouldn't know, but I do know of
- 1:00:56Speaker 7: the photography of how to take one?
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: How what a deep? Yeah?
- 1:01:00Speaker 18: Yeah?
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: I mean, well, how hard is it canna be?
- 1:01:02Speaker 7: I mean, what do you mean this guy's over here
- 1:01:04Speaker 7: asking how hard is photography?
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, I'm not asking that. I mean you
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: think about sending that like it's not you just don't
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: take a quick pick of it and send it.
- 1:01:12Speaker 7: It's like college, What you put in is what you'll
- 1:01:14Speaker 7: get out. If you have lighting that helps you know,
- 1:01:17Speaker 7: do you.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: Worry about the lighting when you're doing that.
- 1:01:19Speaker 7: I mean it's a headshot. I mean, I listen, I
- 1:01:31Speaker 7: am not a provocate. I'm not a connoisseur. I'm not
- 1:01:35Speaker 7: a connoisseur of these. I don't do them. I just
- 1:01:38Speaker 7: know of the tricks, like if you look at your
- 1:01:41Speaker 7: photo editor right, and then you get angle, then you
- 1:01:44Speaker 7: can make the top of the photo a little bit
- 1:01:46Speaker 7: bigger than the bottom of the photo a little bit bigger,
- 1:01:48Speaker 7: and you can make it look exactly the way that
- 1:01:51Speaker 7: you want.
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: Hmm, how many of these have you sent, dude?
- 1:01:55Speaker 7: I've only sent probably three in my entire life.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: Are they out there still footing around? They?
- 1:02:00Speaker 7: You have to ask my wife?
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: Oh you all of them are hurt? Yeah? I think
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: she shared them with that it was not an instant.
- 1:02:06Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm not sure. Listen, I'll be this is the
- 1:02:10Speaker 7: honest truth. It's two to my wife, and it might
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: be one other person. But here, brother, no, no, it's
- 1:02:19Speaker 7: just like a very very early girlfriend. But here's the thing.
- 1:02:23Speaker 7: All of my d picks that are out that I
- 1:02:26Speaker 7: have taken, they are hilarious. What makes them so funny
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: because I made them funny.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: Glasses with the mustache.
- 1:02:35Speaker 7: I always want to show you because they're so great, Salvador.
- 1:02:41Speaker 7: All right, all right, this is if you want to
- 1:02:44Speaker 7: make your wife laugh, you can do this some bat
- 1:02:47Speaker 7: in a thousand with this little trick. All right, you go,
- 1:02:50Speaker 7: you got to make sure that flash is on and
- 1:02:52Speaker 7: then the flash is like right close, so your junk
- 1:02:57Speaker 7: is I can't be it's blurred. Yeah, is in the
- 1:03:00Speaker 7: foreground blurred?
- 1:03:02Speaker 14: Right?
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: Never you signed up for this, I don't want to
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: hear it was my idea.
- 1:03:05Speaker 7: Yeah, so that's already funny. It's just like, why is it?
- 1:03:09Speaker 7: Why did he do it?
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: From his saying deep.
- 1:03:12Speaker 7: Yeah, so it's already taken the majority of the photo,
- 1:03:15Speaker 7: but what is in focus is your face being scared
- 1:03:18Speaker 7: by the camera flash, so it looks like somebody else
- 1:03:24Speaker 7: took the photo. And yeah, that's that's my signature.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: Girls don't send shots that. They send boob shots, right.
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: The girls don't send crowd shots, do they.
- 1:03:35Speaker 10: No, that's not it.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: That's not a girl. I don't think. But that's what
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: I'm saying. I don't think girls. I don't. I think
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: that the picture of that area, the genitale area, is
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: solely a dude thing. I think when when girls send
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: like explicit photographs isn't it just their chest, isn't I
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: mean those? Have you received another? What do you even
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: call those? And when we have is it a pee pic?
- 1:03:55Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm just asking the question a pic.
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: No.
- 1:04:02Speaker 8: Uh.
- 1:04:03Speaker 7: To answer your question, to the best of my ability,
- 1:04:05Speaker 7: I would say it's just very sexy underwear lingerie with
- 1:04:11Speaker 7: that give me a V pick. Yeah that I would say,
- 1:04:15Speaker 7: like more that area, and that's never gonna make it.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: Here's the thing with us. You could certainly say I'm
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: gonna send my wife a funny d pic and it's
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: gonna make her laugh. She can look at it laugh
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: and I'll go like, okay, delete that. That was for us.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: That is not a thing that dude. That works on dudes.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: You can't make it look funny because it's not gonna
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: have that effect on us. No, it's gonna have one
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: effect on us, and it will be laughing.
- 1:04:40Speaker 10: Look at me.
- 1:04:40Speaker 7: It's me and lingerie and I'm eating peaches and cottage
- 1:04:43Speaker 7: cheese or like some weird.
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: It's gonna work and got a bad news for you.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: It's all gonna have the same effect because we're simpletons.
- 1:04:53Speaker 7: I uh, yeah, I I haven't taken too many ages.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: I think I've taken one in my entire life. I
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: think my wife has the only one ever and I
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: have one of her.
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: And I deleted immediately, and she actually up mad at
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: me for deleting it a little bit. I said, I
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: deleted that immediately. She says, why. I'm like, man, there's
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: no way I'm gonna have somebody to yank up my
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: phone and I'm trying to show him a part in
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: my car and then swipe one too far to the writing.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: She should understand you should not be trusted with you,
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: agree with you. You should never trust me with that.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: I trust he was too clumsy with stuff like that.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: That's in oops. I didn't mean to send that to
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: your scenario.
- 1:05:31Speaker 7: Almost immediately, next thing you know, Jack's getting a text in.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: His car and series Jim's White Jim Culvert has sent
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: you a text.
- 1:05:44Speaker 6: Let me see that real quick.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: Be honest. If I accidentally sent you a nude of
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: my wife and I text you and I said, dude,
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: do not open that last text. I just accidentally sent
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: you a due to my wife. Would you delete it
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: or would you look at it? Honestly, I would do both.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: I deleted.
- 1:06:05Speaker 7: That's yeah, it's it's weird having gnarley stuff on your phone. Yeah,
- 1:06:14Speaker 7: I've got some gnarley stuff on my phone. I've got
- 1:06:17Speaker 7: narley stuff on my phone. Video gnarly, I mean, just
- 1:06:19Speaker 7: like nary stuff tackling a.
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: Wife seven seven zero three one. Back in a second.
- 1:06:35Speaker 22: Hey, it's still from Jacksonville schedule.
- 1:06:37Speaker 13: I've actually tied.
- 1:06:38Speaker 22: My neighbor across the street had their door chopped down
- 1:06:41Speaker 22: by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue. It was very loud, and
- 1:06:47Speaker 22: they've been there multiple times. Their family is involved in
- 1:06:51Speaker 22: their hair across the street. But we always wonder if
- 1:06:55Speaker 22: today is good of me the day, and we just
- 1:06:59Speaker 22: never know.
- 1:07:00Speaker 7: So, yeah, did you covert crew?
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: You know who your favorite tea?
- 1:07:11Speaker 10: Big Hill, the Wills of du Vold.
- 1:07:14Speaker 23: And I honestly didn't look up what holiday it was.
- 1:07:19Speaker 10: I'm just gonna go off the cuff and just say
- 1:07:23Speaker 10: make up your own holiday today. I like beer, beer, holiday,
- 1:07:30Speaker 10: Monday beer, all.
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: Of that, right, Hello Tory.
- 1:07:33Speaker 19: Incoming message from Jim Colbert.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: He sent you a image of what looks to be
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: a baby carrot. End message, Baby Carrot, Welcome back to
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: the Jim Colbert Show. We're all Radio one oh four
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: point one I'm Jim. They call me Baby Carrott. Devinzier. Hello,
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: y Hi, It's true. Uh, if I were if I
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: was going to ask you guys, what you thought friendly
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: fraud is? What do you think friendly fraud is? This
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: is a new fraud epidemic hitting a certain business type.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: Flint friendly fraud, friendly fraud in the restaurant business.
- 1:08:22Speaker 7: The extra percent if you use a card.
- 1:08:27Speaker 5: Giving your acquaintances extra services.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: Oh that's a good one.
- 1:08:35Speaker 6: Um, ordering for one and then paying with the coupon.
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: Oh man, you said that's so fast. Like you do
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: it an? You said the soft part allowed. He stopped
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: just short of saying, is it bad?
- 1:08:51Speaker 11: No.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: This is a story out of London Yahoo News, London
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: Soho area. This guy's got a restaurant there and he
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: said the future of their business could be in doubt
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: after the restaurant is hit by a fraud epandemic sweeping
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: the hospitality industry. Said he's lost about five thousand pounds
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: to fraudsters in the last three months alone. He's like, look,
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: we're a small family business and we're loving losing hundreds
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: every week. It's daylight robbery. In fifteen years, this guy
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: says he's never seen anything like this, and he goes like,
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: we're not even an expensive restaurant. The average bill is
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: like sixty to one hundred pounds for two people, but
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: the charges keep coming. Four hundred and ninety three pounds
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: this week, one hundred and five pounds yesterday.
- 1:09:33Speaker 6: They order food, don't pick it up, Yeah, dine and dash, or.
- 1:09:37Speaker 7: They go bogo on Uber eats and then instead of
- 1:09:40Speaker 7: getting it delivered, you just go pick it up. Or
- 1:09:42Speaker 7: I'm just saying you can do that.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I know that's one of your life hacks.
- 1:09:45Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: Or how about they have a really nice meal, charge
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: it on a credit card, then call a credit card
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: company in the next day and say that that's a
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: and then report that as a fraudulent expenditure.
- 1:09:54Speaker 6: That's a douchey thing to do.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that's all. That's exactly what they're doing. They're calling
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: like they're having a great you know, they're paying for it.
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: Then they're calling the next day and said that and
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: saying that their card was used fraudulently, or they're they're
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: they're saying that the service wasn't good, it was a
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: bad and they're getting it charged back. Also, don't don't
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: do that. I mean, that's a cold take, but it
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: says this is a chargeback fraud scheme, sometimes referred to
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: as friendly fraud, when a customer pays for goods or services,
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: in this case, a meal, and then later tells their
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: bank that the transaction was fraudulent to get the money refunded.
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: But it's far from friendly because the people who get
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: screwed like this have to pick up the bill. They
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: wind up paying for that bill. Yeah, I don't like
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: that now. Yeah, that's that's terrible, right.
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: That's as bad as dine and dash. That's when you
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: want to stick your leg out and trip them on
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: their way out there.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: I think it's even kinna worse because I mean you, yeah,
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: and think about this. What if you do this and
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: then leave a like twenty or thirty or forty dollars tip,
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: I mean you do the restaurants have to do the
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: people who got that tip have to pay that back.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Like if you were a server and you and you
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: waited on a table and it was like a two
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: hundred fifty dollars bill and they kicked you a twenty
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: fifty bucks whatever, and they threw you a thirty to
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: forty fifty dollars tip and then then they charged that
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: back to the bank. Does the restaurant come back to
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: you and say, hey, man, you know, you know I
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: need that fifty dollars because this guy screwed us over
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: and you don't get to get over.
- 1:11:18Speaker 7: I would think both scenarios have happened. And if you
- 1:11:21Speaker 7: want to know what a good boss looks like, I
- 1:11:23Speaker 7: think the good boss eats it.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: Oh you think, how often can a good boss do that?
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Stay in business?
- 1:11:30Speaker 24: Man?
- 1:11:31Speaker 7: Well, I'm just saying you and that instance, You're right,
- 1:11:34Speaker 7: it sucks. It's already unfair. This is a whole Yeah,
- 1:11:38Speaker 7: literal crime is happening, exact, but that's an opportunity for
- 1:11:43Speaker 7: that boss to be a priceless leader.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: And it says that it's you're powerless. I can't imagine
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: how you could be, because I mean if you were
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: the restaurant and you argued back, I mean you would
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: have to file a civil case for that, right, Like
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: that means every single time that somebody did this to
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: a restaurant, you would have to file a civil case.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: So it's actually criminal as well. Yeah, So I mean
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: if it's over a certain amount of money, it's real criminal,
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: and I think it's over five hundred bucks. That's grand theft.
- 1:12:09Speaker 7: I also don't hate the boss that also doesn't give
- 1:12:12Speaker 7: the tip like yeah, that sounded.
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: Like, or even keeps part of it for that. Yeah.
- 1:12:17Speaker 7: Yeah, both are right, Both are wrong.
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: Says I've seen dozens of payment disputes over the years.
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: I've never won a single one, even though I've provided
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: every single bit of the evidence they need. It feels humanless, says,
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: you don't have to think about the person in fact,
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: out of business. You get one of these, you're powerless
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: because it cost them hundreds just to deal with it.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: And then if you have to hire an attorney, you're
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: talking one hundred and fifty bucks, one hundred dollars, you
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: know attorney retainers, like what fifteen hundred, one thousand, two
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: thousand bucks just to get one to even look at
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: your case. I had. Restaurants are in a weird like reckoning,
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: very weird.
- 1:12:55Speaker 7: I kind of got a little saucy at one of
- 1:12:58Speaker 7: my favorite restaurants, one of my fans, one of my
- 1:13:01Speaker 7: favorite restaurants. I will have to say, like I don't
- 1:13:04Speaker 7: see myself going back really go pick up food because
- 1:13:08Speaker 7: of what I walked in, and one of my favorite
- 1:13:11Speaker 7: parts about this restaurant, it's a fast cash You walk up,
- 1:13:14Speaker 7: you order the food, and then you go sit down
- 1:13:16Speaker 7: with your table and then yeah, very much so. But
- 1:13:21Speaker 7: when I walked in, no one behind the cash no
- 1:13:23Speaker 7: one behind the register, no cashier, because it's all screens.
- 1:13:27Speaker 7: And I'm like, oh, listen, I'm fine with screens. I
- 1:13:29Speaker 7: can get on board with screens. But I got offended
- 1:13:32Speaker 7: when you guys asked for the tip.
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, because you did do it well. I
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: mean you made the food. Yeah, I mean, do you
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: tip the wawbap person who made your sandwich even though
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: you ordered on a machine? That what you're saying. It
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: was just so weird to still have.
- 1:13:45Speaker 7: The twenty percent expectancy off of zero human interaction.
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: Yeah, that is weird.
- 1:13:51Speaker 7: I tip because of the human interaction. I'm not tipping
- 1:13:54Speaker 7: for the food. I'm tipping because of the humanity exchange
- 1:13:59Speaker 7: that's happening, and you're taking that away from me.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: It's still so uncomfortable. I don't know if you guys
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: still experience the thing when they pass over the little
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: apple thing and it's got the one, two, three, four
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: or five or other or none or whatever. Yes, man,
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: I have him into Starbucks in a very long time.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: But when I played this Sunday, it was like the
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: easiest thing to do to go get a bite to
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: eating a cup of coffee on my way out to
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: the golf course. And again, I like the people there.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: I like the products. It's a wonderful product. They when
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: they stick that stupid credit card reader thing over there
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: and it's like it's got a question for you, I
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: beg it. Doesn't you have a question for me? And
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: this machine does not know about twenty percent?
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: You do?
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: Yeah, and it feels it. And look, I love Starbucks,
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: but it feels so weird tipping somebody to make you
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: a cup of coffee and throw something in an air fryer.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: You don't tip it Starbucks. I do tip it Starbucks.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: I tip one dollar. Okay, yeah, I mean. But but
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: the thing is is, I don't like the whole idea
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: of them showing it up and go hey, it's gonna
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: ask you a question first. In other words, you have
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: to look at them and go no, I'm not tipping you,
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: and you're a foot from me and I'm doing no
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: right in your face.
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: I wonder like sometimes they you know, they spin it
- 1:15:04Speaker 5: around so they can't see what you're There's many places
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: I wonder when you spin it back, do they look
- 1:15:11Speaker 5: look like automatically can see exactly.
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: What just happened before they decide whether or not to
- 1:15:16Speaker 4: spit in your I know they do because.
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: You can see it in their face. Like if you
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: don't tip them, they're like, thank you, sir, but I
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: have a great day, buddy. Here's some extra napkins. I'm serious, man,
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: I mean, I'm look, it's human nature. I mean, why
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: wouldn't you if somebody gave you like three or four
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: dollars for doing a job you are paid to do already,
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: you should feel great about that.
- 1:15:36Speaker 7: I'm a little ashamed, but hey, we' that's what these
- 1:15:39Speaker 7: platforms are for. It first time I can remember as
- 1:15:42Speaker 7: an adult, I did not leave a tip good where
- 1:15:46Speaker 7: you don't want to know the answer to that, I know,
- 1:15:50Speaker 7: because it's it's gonna hurt you a little bit too.
- 1:15:55Speaker 7: It's gonna hurt you a little bit.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: It was a sponsor.
- 1:15:58Speaker 10: No, it's all right.
- 1:16:00Speaker 7: Is this somewhere No, no, no, no, I'll tell you later,
- 1:16:03Speaker 7: because it's still it's because it's still not a massive business,
- 1:16:08Speaker 7: and and I want them to still do well. I
- 1:16:11Speaker 7: just want them to do well without me.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: Why do That's crazy? It sounds like is this a
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: personal thing? No, I just it has to it had.
- 1:16:21Speaker 7: There's a line for everyone, right, And when I am
- 1:16:24Speaker 7: being asked to tip twenty percent on a to go order,
- 1:16:29Speaker 7: oh yeah, yeah yeah, And there's no human I'm working
- 1:16:34Speaker 7: there now, right, I'm I'm working.
- 1:16:38Speaker 14: Oh.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: Every time I go to the checkout line, like the
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: self checkout line, I think to myself, how stupid this is.
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: You know that home Depot Now doesn't even have registers
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: like I have one. Every single checkout for home Depot
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: Now is a machine. It's a scanner you. You don't
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: even have the option with the exception of one line,
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: and I think that's for handicap people. I swear it.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: I'm not saying that it'd be a dick that one
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: line has a red ster with with somebody. But they
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: have a sitting there watching to make sure you're scanning everything, right.
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: But I don't think you have interactions like that anymore there.
- 1:17:04Speaker 7: And for me personally, little Apple and Orange, I have
- 1:17:08Speaker 7: no problem with a self scan out at home Depot.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: I really don't.
- 1:17:12Speaker 7: If that's a faster way, I don't need the human
- 1:17:15Speaker 7: interaction there? Do I prefer it?
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:17:17Speaker 7: Still a little bit, if I'm being honest. But when
- 1:17:20Speaker 7: it comes to food, there's a very personal does this
- 1:17:25Speaker 7: have this on it? Can I get a side of that?
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:17:28Speaker 7: And now that interaction, granted it's two people, I get it,
- 1:17:31Speaker 7: but that's a twelve second question and answer.
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: Dyna, And this is not worth the twenty percent. When
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: you're picking up the food to go and you had
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: no human interaction? Who the alley you dipping?
- 1:17:41Speaker 14: Like?
- 1:17:41Speaker 5: Well, the person who put all that food in the
- 1:17:43Speaker 5: bag and got it to your specifications.
- 1:17:47Speaker 7: Well, guess what the specifications had to be put manually
- 1:17:51Speaker 7: by going through, yes, side of sour cream, no rice,
- 1:17:56Speaker 7: or like now now you're putting in. Now you're putting
- 1:17:59Speaker 7: in ten minutes when I'm still so used to having no,
- 1:18:04Speaker 7: no sour cream and then having it be done. And
- 1:18:07Speaker 7: I understand this is such a first world problem, but
- 1:18:09Speaker 7: it is where I found my line. If you give
- 1:18:12Speaker 7: me a screen, it's a to go order, there's no
- 1:18:15Speaker 7: human interaction besides a number getting shouted out. I'm gonna
- 1:18:19Speaker 7: feel very comfortable not tipping.
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I am becoming a little bit more enamored with
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: these AI drive through people. That's my favorite thing so far. Hi,
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: how are you doing? Welcome to so and so. Would
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: you like me to start your order with this? And
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: I'm like, you know it's on a person. I just
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: curse them out like crazy because I know they can't
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: get offended. Then Chad chimes in, can I get anything? Oh? Yeah,
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: what old depressed Chad comes on. It's not the same
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: experience altogether. I'm like, don't get me sad fries.
- 1:18:48Speaker 23: Chad.
- 1:18:49Speaker 7: Would you like to try our new Southwestern Chiloopah?
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: I want peppy AI fries.
- 1:18:54Speaker 23: Chad.
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll have the chilupa churos with that too. Do
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: you want to side? I'm behind on my mortgage for
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: three months and my wife just left me toppings? Is
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: that what you want? That's what I'm going through?
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: What's your name? Have your peanut butter barfet? But just
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: understand the chat over here is having a very difficult
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: time in life.
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: Oh I love that.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: That's so funny.
- 1:19:16Speaker 7: I haven't really noticed that. It's all right now. Was
- 1:19:18Speaker 7: like the AI introduction asks for you drive throes versus
- 1:19:23Speaker 7: the person working there.
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: Oh, wait to jump, that's a record stratch. When that
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: AI think from Wendy's ask you what your order is,
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: You've never felt better about life like that. That guy's like, hey,
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: welcome to Wendy's. What were you like from our menu today?
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: And I'm like, God, finally are you ordering from the app?
- 1:19:41Speaker 8: No?
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: You know AI all right? You know what that old
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: dopey chad comes on.
- 1:19:46Speaker 7: You know, AI is getting effective when it's God has
- 1:19:48Speaker 7: going like, damn, dude, what are they paying you?
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: Gus? I'm I need to switch my job. I was
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: railing dude all right for seven nine four one back
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: on a.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: Second today is Mo Better Way, Ross Badget sponsored by
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: jose Como, Orlando's injury attorneys. Still to come, legal stories
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: and more with rate trend to Leave from tk Low
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: today at six twenty on the Jim Covert Show.
- 1:20:27Speaker 25: I was just at a concert at the Conduit in
- 1:20:29Speaker 25: winter Park and I went and got a T shirt
- 1:20:32Speaker 25: of the band there that I was seeing, and the
- 1:20:35Speaker 25: merchant person asked for a tip. It handed me the
- 1:20:38Speaker 25: thing and there was a tip thing on it. I
- 1:20:41Speaker 25: did tip them because I know they probably don't make
- 1:20:43Speaker 25: a lot of money. Being on tour and stuff. So
- 1:20:45Speaker 25: I did tip them, but I thought that was different.
- 1:20:48Speaker 6: That is different.
- 1:20:49Speaker 20: Hey, Jimmy, Chad here, Yep, same Chad that calls in
- 1:20:53Speaker 20: every time you want to blame something on a Chad's
- 1:20:56Speaker 20: chat at the taco bell.
- 1:20:58Speaker 10: It's Chad at the house.
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: That's cool, guy.
- 1:21:00Speaker 10: It's Chad that's the hanging Chads.
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: It's screwed up the election.
- 1:21:03Speaker 20: See it all right, Jimmy, keep making us the mail, Caaren,
- 1:21:07Speaker 20: But just remember, I know you've got a great looking wife.
- 1:21:10Speaker 7: It's always Chad that's at your house that's.
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: Fixing things easy at home.
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: Easy. Yep, there's those kinds of Chads too, Yeah, Jimmy, Yeah, Jimmy,
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: all right, welcome back to the Jim Covert Show, Real
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: Radio one oh four Way one.
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: I'm Jim.
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: There's dem hello there as well. So a sauce. That
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: dude laughed like a Chad. Yeah. We have some we
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: have some dire dire traffic issues. Yeah.
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: I didn't get a chance to hear if this was
- 1:21:38Speaker 4: covered in our Trifor report, but it is five twenty four.
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: If you are at work this week or you're trying
- 1:21:43Speaker 4: to get on the road for Thanksgiving, just be aware.
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: Westbound lanes on I four near Exit eighty are closed
- 1:21:49Speaker 4: oh following an overturned vehicle. So motorists on westbound I
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: four near the accident site are being directed to take
- 1:21:56Speaker 4: Exit eighty to US four forty one and resume their travel.
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: And westbound I four from Conroy Road. H Yeah, the
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: eighty one is Michigan Street. So this is like right
- 1:22:10Speaker 4: in the heart of downtown Orlando. Forty one and Conroy
- 1:22:15Speaker 4: Road at five twenty four on a Monday afternoon.
- 1:22:18Speaker 6: That is a miserable enjoy yourself trying to get home
- 1:22:22Speaker 6: from exactly.
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: I blame the mall.
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: Welcome back.
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: I'm Jim devis here. Jack is here, so is Ross.
- 1:22:27Speaker 5: Blame them all or you blame the mall. The mall,
- 1:22:30Speaker 5: that mall and Millennia is the is the epicenter of
- 1:22:33Speaker 5: all traffic.
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: That little park across street may have something to do
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: with it. I don't even know.
- 1:22:41Speaker 7: Yeah, universal well, yeah, I think a lot of them,
- 1:22:44Speaker 7: a lot of those tourists. I just think that mall
- 1:22:46Speaker 7: is I think it's the design of the damn.
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: That whole area going into that mall is real. Gnarley.
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: I mean, you people aren't area We do have a
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: mall here called the Mall, and Millennia is what we
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: call our fancy mall. It's all the big time retailers
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: are there, the relies and some retailers and getting into
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: it is really bizarre from I four.
- 1:23:04Speaker 5: Yet it's one of the still popular mall. There's a
- 1:23:06Speaker 5: lot of all struggling.
- 1:23:08Speaker 4: This does not does not just it's one of the
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: mall where you can valet park. Oh yeah, that's where
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: you bring your lambeau and you're.
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah there for sure. What's the last
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: live show for music? You guys went to Ross? When's
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: the last live music show you went to your new dad?
- 1:23:24Speaker 8: Oh?
- 1:23:25Speaker 7: Man, I off rip, give me a moment, try Travis Scott.
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: Travis Scott. Wow? Really a couple of years ago? Wow?
- 1:23:33Speaker 18: You?
- 1:23:34Speaker 6: Oh too? When you took me for my birthday?
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: Are you serious? That's the thing you didn't you go
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: to like Howard Jones or something up there Mountain Dora.
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: Did you go to one of those shows?
- 1:23:42Speaker 6: No slaying up there?
- 1:23:44Speaker 9: But I was.
- 1:23:44Speaker 6: I was taking care of my mom.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: Got it, got it? Got it? And Jack in the
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: last live you actually go to a lot of lives.
- 1:23:49Speaker 6: He's doing good.
- 1:23:50Speaker 5: Yeah, but I'm blanking right now on on the most
- 1:23:53Speaker 5: recent one. I mean I did j Rockville. Uh yeah,
- 1:23:56Speaker 5: but no that was before that was it? Could it
- 1:23:59Speaker 5: be last May Welcome to Rockville? No, I've had other shows.
- 1:24:02Speaker 6: What about the yacht rock show that you went and
- 1:24:04Speaker 6: saw this summer the oh.
- 1:24:07Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, there you go, Toto, Christopher Cross, Yeah
- 1:24:10Speaker 5: then it worked.
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: That was back in August.
- 1:24:12Speaker 26: Yeah.
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: Going to see the John Bonham thing tonight at Doctor Phillips,
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: the Zeppelin thing. Very cool and very very excited about this.
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: I'll tell you, it's kind of a weird thing for me,
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: and I know people out there listening probably have a
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: similar story in some way, shape or form. My wife
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: and I are about nine years apart. I'm nine years
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: older than my wife. What and what we have found
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: is she's such a such a horrible person.
- 1:24:35Speaker 7: What we what we ploe.
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: What we found is is that we are like that
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: perfect amount of time away to separate us generationally, Like
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: all of our TV shows are like nineties shows as
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: opposed to mine were like eighties and late eighties and
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: early nineties shows. But all of her like the music
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: is the same. You know, she likes a lot of
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: the stuff from the nighties, Alanis Morrisset and you know
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: Alison chains and stuff from the grunge movement. She loves
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: that kind of stuff as well. But the one one
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: thing when we first got together, you know, I was
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: thirty eight and she was twenty seven years old, right
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: first time we got together. No, it was the other way.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: I was thirty yeah, thirty seven and she was twenty
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: six or something like that. Either way, it's still gross.
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: It's crossy the way you look at it. But we
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: her she grew up listening to Zeppelin because her dad
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: is a big time classic rock fan, so they listened
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: to classic rock all the time. So we really bonded
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: over led Zeppelin. She had, she had that that that
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: uh what's it? Collection box? The Library How the West
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: was Won? The box set. She had that entire thing
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: and we listened to it endlessly. So this is kind
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: of an interesting show for us because like, this is
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: a band that we really bonded with as a young couple.
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: I mean as a couple. I should say, what a
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: great anniversary gift. Congratulations, Yeah, bravo, it's not an anniversary gift.
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: What are you talking about? Oh?
- 1:25:56Speaker 7: All right, I'm just so happy and proud of myself
- 1:25:58Speaker 7: because How the West was one.
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: The box set is like one of the most epic
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: box sets. What are you even talking about? How the
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: West was one? What about it? No, that doesn't ring
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: a bell? Oh yes, yeah, yes, sorry sorry.
- 1:26:13Speaker 7: That's just one of the most legendary like pieces of
- 1:26:17Speaker 7: anything you could ever.
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: Boy, it's the only place I believe you can get
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: the song Traveling Riverside Blues on an album. I don't
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: think it ever, it was not ever released on any record.
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: I think the only place you can get that is
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: on that box set.
- 1:26:31Speaker 6: Yeah, it's a live triple album.
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: Yeah. And then and then man, they did one with
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: the Black Crows where it was Jimmy Page with the
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: Black Crows. I think that's why our butt Crows doing Zeppelin.
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: That was also very good. So anyway, going to see
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: that tonight, really excited about it.
- 1:26:46Speaker 7: I'm curious about one thing, Yeah, is that because the
- 1:26:49Speaker 7: age difference. One of my favorite aspects of my marriage
- 1:26:52Speaker 7: is that we are the same age. And I love
- 1:26:53Speaker 7: it because everything you know, like, I don't take it
- 1:26:57Speaker 7: for granted because I know that's not for everyone. But
- 1:27:00Speaker 7: when I bring up a random episode of the rug Rats.
- 1:27:03Speaker 7: She's like, yeah, I remember that, and that keeps the
- 1:27:06Speaker 7: conversation going.
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: I gotta tell you. I mean, you know, obviously we
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: have worked our way through it, but it I mean,
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: you know, we run into these situations all the time
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: where you know, I will watch something and she will
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: barely remember it, or she will watch something and I
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: will I will have heard of it, but never really
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: I was already out of that realm by then. And
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: this is weird. Really, this is good. This is a
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: good question. I liked this question.
- 1:27:26Speaker 7: When did you feel that age difference the most it
- 1:27:30Speaker 7: could be now could be in the beginning, if anything
- 1:27:33Speaker 7: at all.
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: When I turned fifty and she was only forty one,
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: that's when it felt. That's when it felt the lastly
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: that well, then it was visually jawry you pick. Yeah,
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: come on, it was a nasty way before that. And
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: the reason why I know that's because I have mirrors.
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: We use them.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: And when I stand next to her, I can see her,
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: not me. But yeah, man, when when I turned fifty
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: and she was forty one.
- 1:28:07Speaker 7: You know, it seemed a little different because when that's
- 1:28:10Speaker 7: the first time I've heard thirty six and twenty seven
- 1:28:13Speaker 7: when it comes to you guys. Yeah, And that just
- 1:28:16Speaker 7: gave me a bunch of thoughts, and I was curious
- 1:28:18Speaker 7: of whether or not that might be one of the
- 1:28:21Speaker 7: times that the age difference is the most and the
- 1:28:24Speaker 7: only reason why I would even ask that or theory rise.
- 1:28:28Speaker 7: I think that way is that is that from eighteen
- 1:28:31Speaker 7: to twenty six, twenty seven, that's nine years. From eighteen
- 1:28:34Speaker 7: to thirty six thirty seven, that's eighteen nineteen years of
- 1:28:38Speaker 7: being post eighteen years old.
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: H yeah, yeah, that's that. Those are two different intrajectories, Jack,
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: you and Amber are pretty close age wise. Oh, she's
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: much older, is she? Yeah? Yeah, three hundred and fifty days,
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: three hundred and fifty days older than you. Absolutely, And
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: then you guys are exactly the same age.
- 1:28:53Speaker 7: I am a little bit older by five months in.
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: The same year though, right, yeah, yeah, in the same year, Jack, No,
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: she's a year older. A year old, okay, and then
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: you're older than Chris.
- 1:29:03Speaker 6: Right, yeah, five and a half years, five and a
- 1:29:05Speaker 6: half years older than that.
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: That's g I can.
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: I had that.
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: I had it recently.
- 1:29:16Speaker 7: I recently saw a couple and I was like, man,
- 1:29:19Speaker 7: they that they look so good together.
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:29:21Speaker 7: And they're like old and withered and they're holding hands.
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: I love that.
- 1:29:25Speaker 6: I love that when you see old couples still holding hands.
- 1:29:28Speaker 7: And it was one of those moments I trusted my guy.
- 1:29:30Speaker 7: I walk up and go, man, you guys are in
- 1:29:32Speaker 7: love and I can tell, and she goes, that is
- 1:29:34Speaker 7: my dad. Oh it's just a random person walking up
- 1:29:39Speaker 7: to them, random walking up into their life, throwing a nuke.
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: Bye, did that I get? I get the soft version
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: of that. Do you know what the soft version of
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: that is? No, no, let me help you. Well, will
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: this be one check Oh?
- 1:30:02Speaker 6: Yeah, oh yeah, you always get her dad?
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: Yeah, well no, What I always get is is are
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: you guys together? In other words, is this one checker?
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: Are you guys paying separately because this is a business meeting?
- 1:30:13Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: Yeah, and she's trying to get a job, whatever the case.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: Maybe I get that all the time, dude, all the time. Really, yeah, dude,
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: I mean, come on, I look so much older than
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: anybody I know, much less my wife, who does not
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: look even close to her age. So it's even and
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: actually it's gotten worse because I look as I get older,
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: I look older. It's exponential it's I guess he knows
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: what it means. Thanks, thanks for the favor of coming
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: in today.
- 1:30:41Speaker 7: Say, finally, Jim and a I have something in common.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: But it's weird though, But you know what the funny
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: thing is. I mean, right here on television almost every day,
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: the Caroline Levitt, the woman who is the White House
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: Press secretary. She's what thirty and her husband's sixty something
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: like that. Yeah, I'm serious. I think she's twenty. I
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: think dude is sixty. There is thirty one year's difference.
- 1:31:03Speaker 7: There's no conversation, no argument to be made whenever those
- 1:31:08Speaker 7: scenarios happen. Old dude, young girl or hell vice versa.
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 1:31:13Speaker 7: But you know there's a sugar daddy or sugar mom.
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: You think there's always a sugar component to that. You
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: don't think that. You don't think that she can genuinely
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: find him attractive and genuinely find him like husband worthy,
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: even though their ages are different. You think there has
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: to be something wrong with her specifically.
- 1:31:30Speaker 7: I just don't think Bill Belichick is there with her
- 1:31:33Speaker 7: for her intellectual mind.
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: I like that because he's how much older. I mean
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: that she's forty five years older or something like that.
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: Isn't his girlfriend in her twenties and he is seventy?
- 1:31:46Speaker 6: Oh yeah, Caroline Levitt is twenty eight and his.
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: I think her husband is either fifty nine or sixty.
- 1:31:52Speaker 6: Years old looking up right now, no idea.
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: Oh yeah yeah. As a matter of fact, I did
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: know she was that young. Yeah, oh yeah, she's really young.
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: Forty eight year age gap. Yeah, forty eight years.
- 1:32:02Speaker 7: Why don't you just make out with leather bags instead?
- 1:32:06Speaker 7: I mean, do you always look at couples like that,
- 1:32:08Speaker 7: schedule one up?
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: Which one does? Is worse for you?
- 1:32:12Speaker 26: Is it?
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: Is it worse if the if the girl is way
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: younger than the guy, or the guy is way younger
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: than the girl.
- 1:32:18Speaker 6: Well she's twenty eight.
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: So back to Caroline Levitt, she's twenty eight and her
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: husband is sixty.
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah, man, that's a lot. I think.
- 1:32:29Speaker 5: Tony Randall was seventy five, his wife was twenty five
- 1:32:34Speaker 5: having kids.
- 1:32:35Speaker 6: Yeah, that's just I think.
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: I think Dick Van Dyke's wife is like in her fifties,
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: but he's like a hundred dude, he's.
- 1:32:42Speaker 5: About to turn one hundred. He's got a book coming
- 1:32:44Speaker 5: out about it. And I think she's like her like
- 1:32:46Speaker 5: mid fifties or something.
- 1:32:47Speaker 7: Oh, that's all right. You know she's fifty five, he's
- 1:32:49Speaker 7: a bucko five, but he's one hundred and five.
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: That's a great question. Then when does that stop? Like
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: at one point, like if the woman's thirty five and
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: the guy seventy, is it still the same? Is it
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: because the women are in their thirty or in their twenties?
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: That makes it seem so much weirder? And is it
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: worse if you have kids older than your spouse? Oh yeah,
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: that's way, because I mean Belichick has that right.
- 1:33:09Speaker 4: Yeah, And keep in mind his girlfriend crashed a party
- 1:33:12Speaker 4: that his ex wife and daughters were hosting, and when
- 1:33:16Speaker 4: they politely asked her to leave, she said, no, I
- 1:33:19Speaker 4: can stay here if I want. She's just she's that
- 1:33:21Speaker 4: kind of person you want to take somewhere into the
- 1:33:23Speaker 4: back of a building and make sure there's no cameras
- 1:33:25Speaker 4: or lights.
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you know what I'm saying. You know you
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: know who doesn't care though? Bill don't care?
- 1:33:30Speaker 6: Well, he should because those are his kids.
- 1:33:32Speaker 7: And you know what he should because his legacy has
- 1:33:35Speaker 7: been tarnished. Oh it's just one of the decks.
- 1:33:37Speaker 4: But now when he walks around in those sleeveless shirts
- 1:33:40Speaker 4: and it's he's always done.
- 1:33:42Speaker 6: He looks like a clown.
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: Yeah, he look at clown.
- 1:33:44Speaker 7: Now, it wasn't ten years ago that he would still
- 1:33:47Speaker 7: be looked. I know this is going to rub some
- 1:33:49Speaker 7: people the wrong way, but he's a head coach in
- 1:33:51Speaker 7: the NFL and an integrity filled position. It's not like
- 1:33:53Speaker 7: they would ever cheat. Yeah, but his reputation was essentially
- 1:33:59Speaker 7: spat lists until he left the Patriots.
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: And now everyone's like, yeah, what a weird didn't the
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: Patriots leave him? Yes? Yeah, yeah, mean they let him
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: go and then he goes out and does it and
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: then he I mean, you're right, this it's so funny
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: because he was such a stoic Mount Rushmore of or
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: a football coaches kind of guy. Right, and then he
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: starts dating a twenty five year o ldor whatever, and
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: you're like.
- 1:34:22Speaker 4: Bill, what, we won't tell you how they met? Remember
- 1:34:27Speaker 4: she shut that interview down.
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: Oh that's right.
- 1:34:29Speaker 4: When they asked, so how did you guys meet, and
- 1:34:31Speaker 4: from the back of the room, she said, we're not
- 1:34:33Speaker 4: going to talk about that.
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: Well, I mean, how could it be? Like a Sugar
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: Daddy website, there is a sugar there is a sugar
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: Daddy website.
- 1:34:41Speaker 6: I heard that she was a call girl.
- 1:34:43Speaker 7: I think to answer your question because really put yourself
- 1:34:47Speaker 7: in that scenario of what's worst guy dating a younger
- 1:34:50Speaker 7: girl or older woman dating a younger guy, and they
- 1:34:54Speaker 7: really both have a different level or different flavors of sadness.
- 1:35:00Speaker 7: To me, I'm going to go with older guy younger girl,
- 1:35:03Speaker 7: just because it's so normalized and people forget that it's
- 1:35:08Speaker 7: just a power move and influence.
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: And the other side doesn't happen very Look up Keanu
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: Reeves and his girlfriend. I think his girlfriend is older
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: than him, isn't.
- 1:35:18Speaker 7: She by a little bit? But this it wouldn't fall
- 1:35:21Speaker 7: into this category, you don't think so.
- 1:35:22Speaker 6: And they're married, nibel or engaged?
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: Are they?
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: And he's older, he's he's in his fifties. No, I
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: think she's older. Isn't she?
- 1:35:30Speaker 7: Well, he's and she is older. But oh but hes
- 1:35:34Speaker 7: because he's and she's sixty.
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: Maybe there's a there's a really odd lesbian relationship in Hollywood.
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: It's like that where well, I don't know if it works.
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: Does it work like that? Do gay relationships have the
- 1:35:47Speaker 2: same kind of she's fifty two, she's fifty two.
- 1:35:50Speaker 6: She's fifty two.
- 1:35:51Speaker 5: I thought he was way older than that. Texas says
- 1:35:54Speaker 5: President Trump is seventy nine. How old do you think
- 1:35:57Speaker 5: Milania is?
- 1:35:58Speaker 7: Yeah, I would also put this relationship in this category.
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: She's just in her late forties. Isn't she fifty five?
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: She's four year different. Yeah, she was fifty five years old, dude.
- 1:36:08Speaker 7: And it's just to me, I don't know, I get
- 1:36:10Speaker 7: real judge, I get real harsh ways. Yeah, when I
- 1:36:14Speaker 7: see very very wealthy people who are not attractive dating
- 1:36:19Speaker 7: stunning younger, very young people.
- 1:36:22Speaker 2: If you didn't know me and you saw my wife
- 1:36:24Speaker 2: and I walk down the street, would you have that
- 1:36:25Speaker 2: saying no, you wouldn't feel that way. No, you could
- 1:36:27Speaker 2: say yes, I don't care. I don't you go to
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: see your naked.
- 1:36:31Speaker 7: Because here's the reason why is because if I didn't
- 1:36:35Speaker 7: know you, I wouldn't it would not do a double tape.
- 1:36:38Speaker 3: No, okay no.
- 1:36:39Speaker 7: But and now that I do know you as well,
- 1:36:42Speaker 7: I one hundred percent think it's weird. It's nine years
- 1:36:47Speaker 7: and I find it more gross when it comes to
- 1:36:51Speaker 7: the difference of mentality that ages will bring than the
- 1:36:54Speaker 7: physical appearance.
- 1:36:56Speaker 2: She hits me with these things all the time, and
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: it is the funniest thing in a relationship about We'll
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: have a conversation and I'll be like, yeah, I remember,
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: I was like, I remember I did that. One was
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: like seventeen years old. It was this, that, and the
- 1:37:05Speaker 2: other She goes, yeah, I remember that was nine, and
- 1:37:08Speaker 2: I'm like, you should never do that again, like ever
- 1:37:10Speaker 2: in her life, ever do that again. She does it
- 1:37:12Speaker 2: all the time. Makes me laugh every time. Emmanuel McCrone
- 1:37:15Speaker 2: and his wife.
- 1:37:16Speaker 6: Oh man, well she was the teacher.
- 1:37:19Speaker 2: Yeah, he was fifteen when he met her. She was
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: thirty nine. Oh my dude. Really twenty four year difference. Well,
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: I mean that's not even the weird part. Well, it's
- 1:37:31Speaker 2: just sweating years old. Yeah, I don't think they started
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: hooking up. H yeah, Well what's up?
- 1:37:37Speaker 4: Little She smecked him like she's doing him for a while,
- 1:37:40Speaker 4: exactly getting off that plane.
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: She smacked that fool like it was her kid. I'm
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: going to go eighteen years they've been married.
- 1:37:46Speaker 7: I think the age difference where I start hitting that
- 1:37:50Speaker 7: threshold of super judgy is thirty thirty years.
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: Thirty year difference. I think thirty year.
- 1:37:55Speaker 7: Difference, I start going This isn't love, This is weird
- 1:37:58Speaker 7: and griss.
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: This is an arrangement four seven one, Load him up,
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: Trivia's next.
- 1:38:15Speaker 10: Happy Monday, Colbert and killing. But it's kind of creekd
- 1:38:17Speaker 10: Mike it man.
- 1:38:19Speaker 27: You gotta love when it's the holidays and the general
- 1:38:22Speaker 27: contractors on vacation and the inspections get screwed up so
- 1:38:26Speaker 27: you have to get after hours inspections. I just left
- 1:38:30Speaker 27: a job in Ocalla and now I'm sitting on seventy
- 1:38:33Speaker 27: five heading back towards Leesburg, doing fifteen.
- 1:38:37Speaker 10: Miles an hour. You gotta love it, man, tis the season, right,
- 1:38:41Speaker 10: here's the season, Mike, what.
- 1:38:45Speaker 2: Uck Cobo crewe?
- 1:38:47Speaker 26: Okay? Talking about age difference, what do you think about
- 1:38:51Speaker 26: a sixty year old woman dating a forty five year
- 1:38:54Speaker 26: old man.
- 1:38:55Speaker 2: You go for it, girl, get it.
- 1:38:56Speaker 26: Actually is more mentally mature of them. Man got away
- 1:39:03Speaker 26: than he is. What's your thought on that?
- 1:39:06Speaker 2: Perfectly fine? What's up, mister Kolbert? Yeah, I have an
- 1:39:12Speaker 2: interracial marriage.
- 1:39:14Speaker 15: I'm white, my wife is black.
- 1:39:17Speaker 14: She's three years older than me, but looks fifteen years
- 1:39:20Speaker 14: younger than I do, so I.
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: Understand the heartache of is this on the same check?
- 1:39:27Speaker 8: Oh?
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: You know we're both wearing wedding rings.
- 1:39:30Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so I feel your pain.

- 1:41:29Speaker 2: a prototype and then they put that into production like
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: two years later. Oh wow, and it's already out of production.

- 1:41:54Speaker 2: do it. I'm listen.
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: Do it in be Is he the puzzlemaster or is
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: he the guy who's currently writing Today's can be both?
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: Let's find out. It's time for JCS trivia.
- 1:42:05Speaker 2: All right, Ted, this is a real easy game.
- 1:42:07Speaker 10: Boss.
- 1:42:07Speaker 2: Got a question here for you. Four answers. One of
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: these answers is not true.
- 1:42:11Speaker 10: Ted.
- 1:42:12Speaker 2: We are looking for a lie here, but if you
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: can find it, I'll send you over to Jack or
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: we have a fresh stack of prizes. Are you ready?
- 1:42:19Speaker 22: Let's do it?
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: Here we go, buddy. On this day in eighteen fifty nine,
- 1:42:23Speaker 2: English naturalist Charles Darwin publishes his book on the Origin
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: of Species, laying the foundation for the study of evolutionary biology.
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: Here are three fun facts about Charles Darwin and one
- 1:42:37Speaker 2: lie that will eventually become a truth. All right, all right, buddy,
- 1:42:43Speaker 2: we're talking about Charles Darwin. Which one of these is
- 1:42:46Speaker 2: not true? Number one he had an appetite for exotic animals.
- 1:42:51Speaker 2: The best tasting exotic animal to him, heel a monster,
- 1:42:54Speaker 2: the worst tasting penguin. Number two, Charles dropped out of
- 1:42:58Speaker 2: medical school because he could not stand the sight of blood.
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: Number three Charles did not coin the phrase survival of
- 1:43:05Speaker 2: the fittest. That was a philosopher, Herbert Spencer. Or Lastly,
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: Charles married his first cousin and they remain married until
- 1:43:13Speaker 2: his death for forty three years. Which of those is
- 1:43:17Speaker 2: not true? I'm gonna go with the first one, Jes,
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: that's the one.
- 1:43:21Speaker 10: But you're on.
- 1:43:24Speaker 2: Look, I'm gotta tell you something interesting. He actually did
- 1:43:27Speaker 2: love eating exotic animals. What do you think he said
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: the worst tasting thing he ever ate was a matter
- 1:43:34Speaker 2: of fact, he said it made him gag and almost
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: throw up at a dinner party.
- 1:43:37Speaker 7: I'm gonna go because they were common on the Galapgos Island.
- 1:43:42Speaker 6: Kimodo dragon, It is not a kimodo dragon. Damn tortoise.
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: It is not a tortoise. It's so much more common. Chicken.
- 1:43:50Speaker 2: It was a brown owl he ate in a brown own,
- 1:43:53Speaker 2: and he said it was the most repulsive thing he
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: ever ate. What do you think he thought the.
- 1:43:56Speaker 6: Best thing was Charles Darwin is pulsive.
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: It's called it negoti which is a big road it.
- 1:44:01Speaker 2: He said it was the best tasting meat he ever
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: ate in his entire life. There you go, you're a winner, buddy.
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: I'm gonna put you on the whole day. Go get
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: something nice there. Charles did drop out of medical school
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: because he could not stand the sight of blood. Were
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: Charles did not coin the phrase survival of the fittest,
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: which I thought he did. Learned today it was a
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: philosopher named Herbert Spencer. Charles did marry his first cousin,
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: and they did remain married for forty three years until
- 1:44:28Speaker 2: his death. Oh good for them. How many How many
- 1:44:31Speaker 2: kids do you think they had? How many children did
- 1:44:33Speaker 2: Charles Darwin have?
- 1:44:35Speaker 6: Seven?
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: Nine? Zero?
- 1:44:37Speaker 7: He had eight, but then he had to wait. By
- 1:44:39Speaker 7: the end it was four. He had to live and
- 1:44:41Speaker 7: fight them out zero seven, ten. And it's so funny,
- 1:44:48Speaker 7: you said, how many? Yeah, then he lost a couple.
- 1:44:50Speaker 2: Three of them died. Well, so yeah, three of them died.
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: They did not make it the adulthood. A couple other things.
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: He waited twenty years to publish this book for me
- 1:45:00Speaker 2: because he understood just how controversial it was going to be.
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: He understood how much it was going to rattle and
- 1:45:06Speaker 2: wrankle the you know, the established religion organizations. He knew
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: it was gonna be bad news. He waited as long
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: as he possibly could before he would release it, so
- 1:45:15Speaker 2: that he was waiting for society to kind of catch
- 1:45:17Speaker 2: up to the ideas that he was about to propose,
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: because he knew it was going to go poorly, and
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: it did. He had like an appetiteless scene. And then
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: he was featured on England's ten dollars pound for eighteen years.
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: Oh wow, didn't I know that? And then lastly, like
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: I said, he and his first cousin had ten kids,
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: three of which died before adulthood. Just trying to make
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: a joke. Ye now it's awkward. Yeah, right, what do
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: you got for? Thoughts? Are big dog guys?
- 1:45:41Speaker 7: We got to talk about Thanksgiving for a little bit.
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: It's this week.
- 1:45:45Speaker 7: It's my only day with you guys I have, I
- 1:45:48Speaker 7: would argue, Jack already knows Jack it's a good Thanksgiving question.
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: Oh it's a great one.
- 1:45:52Speaker 7: Okay, When you say it like that, now I lose
- 1:45:54Speaker 7: all confidence. But I believe I have the best most
- 1:45:59Speaker 7: inner containing Thanksgiving question. I will ask you guys this
- 1:46:03Speaker 7: after the break.
- 1:46:04Speaker 2: We'll do that next.
- 1:46:12Speaker 28: Colbert Crew, Coldbird Crew, Love blessings. I know, yeah, man,
- 1:46:17Speaker 28: That's why I pick up everybody first and foremost. Just
- 1:46:20Speaker 28: remember Jamiica, I know whatever can do fit to help Zar,
- 1:46:26Speaker 28: whatever you know. But anyhow, Debro, Jim and I'm famili.
- 1:46:30Speaker 28: Please let them know there is no such thing as
- 1:46:33Speaker 28: a ten dollar pond. Teach him how currency works.
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: Please note, you know what I'm talking about. Why do
- 1:46:42Speaker 2: you waste your time? Jesus, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: You just know how bad I am at it? All right,
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: Welcome back?
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: What does do Colbert crew?
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: You don't know who?
- 1:46:55Speaker 2: I just came back from publics, got thirty six eggs
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: and I got a Jim Covert DOUBLEG recipe. Ready to
- 1:47:02Speaker 2: blow mind.
- 1:47:05Speaker 11: Blow them.
- 1:47:07Speaker 2: Don't forget the butter dogs. That's the magic, all right,
- 1:47:12Speaker 2: Welcome back. I'm Jim. There's dead Hello, Jack Sauce. Yeah,
- 1:47:16Speaker 2: every single Monday, which we forgot about right before we
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: tease Ross's uh bit because Ross is usually not here
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: on Mondays, here on Tuesdays.
- 1:47:25Speaker 4: You know, I.
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: That's not Ross? Hold up? What Brandon Gravitz here with
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: sports guys.
- 1:47:31Speaker 3: Yeah, what's up, guys.
- 1:47:37Speaker 24: My visit presented by wing House Great food beautifully served
- 1:47:42Speaker 24: Monday is always vibe.
- 1:47:43Speaker 3: Go and give you burger beer side of Winghouse charm.
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: Yeah that's nice. I love wings Man. I have that
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: Winghouse wings in a minute. They're good.
- 1:47:52Speaker 3: Listen.
- 1:47:53Speaker 24: We're about to load up on some bird on Thursday,
- 1:47:56Speaker 24: so it's a nice little primer.
- 1:47:58Speaker 3: Start priming the birdhohow you dam.
- 1:48:02Speaker 14: I was.
- 1:48:03Speaker 24: I've been off the air for the last thirty minutes
- 1:48:07Speaker 24: because we we had some technical issues.
- 1:48:10Speaker 3: Oh, we did have technical issues. Is just a scheduling conflict.
- 1:48:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:48:13Speaker 24: We do a lot of play by play broadcasting on
- 1:48:16Speaker 24: ninety six nine in the game. So I've been patiently
- 1:48:19Speaker 24: waiting for thirty minutes.
- 1:48:20Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:48:20Speaker 24: Had I known that you forgot about my visit, I'd
- 1:48:23Speaker 24: be halfway down I four right now, but you would not.
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: Because it's blocked.
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: Yeah, you're right.
- 1:48:27Speaker 24: The traffic it really is. It is not advantageous to
- 1:48:31Speaker 24: get out early. Is somebody that every once in a
- 1:48:33Speaker 24: while our show is off at five thirty and not six,
- 1:48:36Speaker 24: and it's getting home.
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: It's no different. Yea, yeah, it is no different.
- 1:48:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like The Truman Show, and somebody's like at
- 1:48:42Speaker 2: this at this point, there's like everybody is on the road,
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: and five minutes later, nobody is.
- 1:48:46Speaker 16: On the road.
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: He's leaving now everyone, Yeah, yeah, exactly. What a big
- 1:48:51Speaker 2: NFL weekend?
- 1:48:52Speaker 24: Yeah, big time. We're gonna start with shandor Sanders. Do
- 1:48:54Speaker 24: you want to end with No, Let's go ahead and
- 1:48:56Speaker 24: start with him.
- 1:48:56Speaker 2: I mean, it's so I do find it interesting that,
- 1:48:59Speaker 2: you know, he had a bad week when his debut,
- 1:49:01Speaker 2: he had a much better week this week, and then
- 1:49:03Speaker 2: he's like flexing already. I'm like, dude, you're two games in,
- 1:49:05Speaker 2: chill out, like you had a pretty good game against
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: the Raiders. Maybe you should relax a little bit and
- 1:49:11Speaker 2: let's see something else, because you still looked a little
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: It wasn't still all that great. They're still okay. He
- 1:49:18Speaker 2: was decent against the Raiders, though, Dude, I get it.
- 1:49:22Speaker 3: It's the Raiders.
- 1:49:23Speaker 7: It's still his first NFL start, and it's a defensive team.
- 1:49:27Speaker 7: If the Raiders were to be any type of team, j.
- 1:49:35Speaker 2: Talking about all that.
- 1:49:37Speaker 3: He had to do was manage the game and play
- 1:49:39Speaker 3: within himself, and he did that.
- 1:49:42Speaker 2: You're right, I mean, the Browns defense is really good.
- 1:49:43Speaker 24: Well exactly, and that's where I think a lot of
- 1:49:45Speaker 24: people that are and I follow this stuff from multiple angles,
- 1:49:50Speaker 24: one of which is the sports betting angle, and the
- 1:49:54Speaker 24: betting public, the general sports fan was.
- 1:49:58Speaker 3: Was on Shador. They they wanted to see him succeed, right, Yeah.
- 1:50:02Speaker 24: The folks that consider themselves savvy NFL fans kind of
- 1:50:06Speaker 24: like stick their nose up at Shador, like this guy,
- 1:50:09Speaker 24: he's all hype, no substance. And there was a lot
- 1:50:13Speaker 24: of money on the Raiders because of the Chador Sanders factor.
- 1:50:18Speaker 24: I sat the game out because I kind of I
- 1:50:22Speaker 24: understand that mentality, and I was a Shadoor guy coming
- 1:50:24Speaker 24: into the draft, but clearly the draft process told us
- 1:50:28Speaker 24: the reality of Shador Sanders, that he's not that highly
- 1:50:31Speaker 24: thought of, So I respect that process.
- 1:50:33Speaker 2: Could you imagine I guy playing against Texas's pass rush.
- 1:50:36Speaker 2: I mean it would be gross. I mean, he wouldn't
- 1:50:38Speaker 2: most like. Yeah, but that's sort of so that sounds
- 1:50:42Speaker 2: like every other rookie quarterback.
- 1:50:44Speaker 24: Yeah, I mean, right now, Shador Sanders and Cam Mooord,
- 1:50:46Speaker 24: who was the number one overall pick, of the same
- 1:50:48Speaker 24: amount of wins.
- 1:50:49Speaker 3: It's one about that one.
- 1:50:51Speaker 24: Okay, good But the factor in the game that I
- 1:50:54Speaker 24: think a lot of people forgot about because this so
- 1:50:57Speaker 24: much focus on Shador Sanders from everybody was that the
- 1:51:01Speaker 24: Raiders offensive line is really bad and the Browns defensive
- 1:51:05Speaker 24: line is really good. Yeah, and that is what this
- 1:51:08Speaker 24: game really came down to from a football perspective, was
- 1:51:11Speaker 24: that the Brown's defensive line just got whatever they wanted.
- 1:51:14Speaker 24: They got to wherever they wanted against the Raiders O
- 1:51:17Speaker 24: line and on Geno Smith, and the Raiders only scored
- 1:51:20Speaker 24: ten points. So it wasn't a tall ask to have
- 1:51:23Speaker 24: Shdor Sanders go in there. Hey, all he had to
- 1:51:25Speaker 24: do was put up eleven and they were gonna win
- 1:51:27Speaker 24: this football shot. Yeah, but the fact that he did
- 1:51:30Speaker 24: that is still impressive. I'm not going to I am
- 1:51:34Speaker 24: not going to toot his horn today and say, oh
- 1:51:37Speaker 24: my god, everybody that said that he was going to
- 1:51:39Speaker 24: be a good quarterback, including myself. By the way, this
- 1:51:42Speaker 24: is not This is not a time to victory lap
- 1:51:45Speaker 24: now for Shador Sanders.
- 1:51:47Speaker 2: I but he's going to anyway because blood exactly.
- 1:51:51Speaker 3: This is his brand. This is the way that he operates.
- 1:51:54Speaker 24: This is like asking, now we all think Baker Mayfield
- 1:51:57Speaker 24: is cool, now, so it's okay when he does it,
- 1:51:59Speaker 24: But when Baker Mayfield was braggadocious and in everybody's face
- 1:52:04Speaker 24: as a rookie, We're like, get out of here.
- 1:52:06Speaker 3: This guy hasn't earned any of that. That's just who
- 1:52:08Speaker 3: he is.
- 1:52:09Speaker 24: And I think Shador Sanders said, you know, dropping bars
- 1:52:13Speaker 24: in the post game.
- 1:52:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that's who he is.
- 1:52:17Speaker 3: To give him if you allow that man to win,
- 1:52:22Speaker 3: he's gonna tell you about yeah.
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: Yah, yeah, for sure. It's in his blood, like you said,
- 1:52:24Speaker 2: I mean, that's how Dion was. It's how Dion is
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: to this day.
- 1:52:27Speaker 24: And interesting the way that Cleveland is handling this because
- 1:52:29Speaker 24: their head coach, Kevin Stevanski, at all along from the
- 1:52:33Speaker 24: moment he got drafted, he kind of rolled his eyes
- 1:52:35Speaker 24: and it has felt like he has wanted no part
- 1:52:37Speaker 24: of this. Dylan Gabriel had been the starting quarterback for
- 1:52:40Speaker 24: the last several weeks. Dylan Gabriel has been cleared medically
- 1:52:44Speaker 24: to play and they are still rolling with Shador Sanders
- 1:52:47Speaker 24: this week.
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: They should, I mean, for one thing, just get the
- 1:52:50Speaker 2: you know, the attention they got to see what he's
- 1:52:51Speaker 2: gonna do. I mean, who knows, they know Dylan Gabriel's
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: at the guy forever, so I mean, you might well
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: might as well let that guy rip an interesting season, though,
- 1:52:59Speaker 2: Can we all obviously and officially say that the La
- 1:53:02Speaker 2: Rams are the best team in football right now?
- 1:53:04Speaker 3: Yes? Yeah, they are there.
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: They are the best team in football. And if I
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: had to put any money on one team winning at all,
- 1:53:09Speaker 2: it would be right now on the La Rams. They
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: completely Now Tampa has issues, obviously, you know, they have
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: injury issues, but they dominated so much it was not
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: even close. I mean, they just they did what they
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: want at will, like I don't even think. I don't
- 1:53:22Speaker 2: even think Stafford's sweat.
- 1:53:23Speaker 7: There's winning and then there's winning like that.
- 1:53:25Speaker 24: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah they And they've got some impressive
- 1:53:28Speaker 24: ones on the schedule throughout the season. The Ravens, the
- 1:53:33Speaker 24: you know, they've got to win against the Texans, they
- 1:53:35Speaker 24: smashed the Jaguars. They've now done this to both teams
- 1:53:38Speaker 24: they've played inside the state of Florida, by the way,
- 1:53:40Speaker 24: thirty five to seven against Jacksonville, thirty four to seven
- 1:53:43Speaker 24: against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 1:53:45Speaker 3: It's the marriage of offense and defense that does it
- 1:53:48Speaker 3: for me.
- 1:53:49Speaker 24: Matt Stafford has thrown I think it's now twenty five
- 1:53:54Speaker 24: touchdown passes without an interception.
- 1:53:56Speaker 3: Yeah, it's incredible. So he is the odds on MVP
- 1:54:00Speaker 3: right now. He should be. Their defense is top one
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: or two in the NFL.
- 1:54:05Speaker 24: Right, So when you start to put all of that together,
- 1:54:08Speaker 24: in their head coach healthy, they're healthy, they have a
- 1:54:10Speaker 24: great head coach and Sean McVay. There's nothing that will
- 1:54:13Speaker 24: slow them down other than themselves at this point, I agree.
- 1:54:16Speaker 24: I think they're the best team, not just in the NFC,
- 1:54:18Speaker 24: I think they're the best team in the NFL.
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: Right. Yeah, they're completely dominant against Tampa, even though Tampa
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: is you know, they do have her issues. They're always
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: very feisty, they're always very strappy, and man, they couldn't
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: do anything to stop this team. They couldn't score against them.
- 1:54:30Speaker 2: They couldn't stop They could not do anything to stop
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: them from scoring. They were scoring it.
- 1:54:34Speaker 7: Will didn't Baker get hurt as well?
- 1:54:35Speaker 2: Yeah, you got a shoulder injury.
- 1:54:37Speaker 24: Yeah, didn't end up playing in the second half. Teddy
- 1:54:39Speaker 24: Bridgewater is not a good quarterback.
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: Terrible, just absolutely terrible.
- 1:54:44Speaker 3: His best days are far behind him. And this guy
- 1:54:46Speaker 3: was coaching high school not that long ag Yeah.
- 1:54:48Speaker 24: Yeah, yeah, and they wound up getting fined or suspended
- 1:54:51Speaker 24: because he was he was driving players to practice and
- 1:54:54Speaker 24: back home and all that other things that you should
- 1:54:56Speaker 24: not get fined for.
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: But any way, yeah, it's so funny. When he first
- 1:54:58Speaker 2: came in the league. I thought he was actually good
- 1:55:00Speaker 2: be a pretty good player. Then he had that horrible
- 1:55:01Speaker 2: knee act and knee injury, right.
- 1:55:03Speaker 24: Yeah, and then he came back and he was still
- 1:55:05Speaker 24: a serviceable backup, but he was a decent starter. Yeah,
- 1:55:08Speaker 24: he was never great, but he was a decent starting quarterback,
- 1:55:11Speaker 24: which a lot of people never even get to that
- 1:55:12Speaker 24: point in their lives, and he was that. And then
- 1:55:14Speaker 24: he had that horrific knee injury and he was never
- 1:55:17Speaker 24: the same.
- 1:55:17Speaker 2: Again, let's get some magic basketball. They're on one a
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: little bit right and they're playing really well right now.
- 1:55:21Speaker 3: They are. Last night they lost to the Celtics.
- 1:55:23Speaker 24: They were down by twenty six before mounting a pretty
- 1:55:25Speaker 24: big comeback with all of their backups. But they they
- 1:55:29Speaker 24: were without most of their starting lineup. Palo's been out
- 1:55:32Speaker 24: for the last five games now. Jalen Suggs is not
- 1:55:35Speaker 24: playing on back to backs. But when you look at
- 1:55:38Speaker 24: the wins that they've banked recently. Last night was just
- 1:55:41Speaker 24: sort of called that a schedule loss, second night of
- 1:55:43Speaker 24: a back to back, half your rosters out, they just
- 1:55:47Speaker 24: sort of punted the game on.
- 1:55:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it's on the road. They played Saturday night at home,
- 1:55:51Speaker 2: then they're in Boston on Sunday. But Suggs was a
- 1:55:54Speaker 2: beast on Sunday night.
- 1:55:56Speaker 24: So Golden State now a win over them, two wins
- 1:56:00Speaker 24: over the New York Knicks. Have blown out the New
- 1:56:03Speaker 24: York Knicks twice, once on their home floor. The only
- 1:56:07Speaker 24: team to beat the Knicks at MSG this year is
- 1:56:09Speaker 24: the Orlando Magic.
- 1:56:10Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:56:11Speaker 24: So they're starting to stack some really impressive wins now
- 1:56:13Speaker 24: six and two over the last eight, nine to four
- 1:56:17Speaker 24: over the last thirteen. They're starting to look like the
- 1:56:21Speaker 24: team that we thought they were going to look like
- 1:56:23Speaker 24: coming into the season. And they're doing all of this
- 1:56:25Speaker 24: without Palo ban Caro now, because they've looked so good
- 1:56:28Speaker 24: and the turnaround has come with Palo their best player out.
- 1:56:32Speaker 3: Of the lineup.
- 1:56:33Speaker 24: Of course, the conversation now turns to is this team
- 1:56:36Speaker 24: actually better when they're not running through Palo?
- 1:56:39Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:56:39Speaker 24: So I put a lot of thought into this, and
- 1:56:41Speaker 24: I want to share my response and feel free to
- 1:56:44Speaker 24: take this to your friends out there when you were
- 1:56:46Speaker 24: talking magic basketball. Okay, the team is not better without
- 1:56:49Speaker 24: Palo ban Caro. That's a ridiculous thing to say. The
- 1:56:52Speaker 24: team is better when they are not running their offense
- 1:56:56Speaker 24: through Palo bank Caro. I think what we are seeing
- 1:56:58Speaker 24: now is that when this team is sharing the ball
- 1:57:01Speaker 24: and there's not one singular focus, they're a lot tougher
- 1:57:04Speaker 24: to stop. And when Palo's on the floor, because he
- 1:57:07Speaker 24: is the most talented offensive player, the ball tends to
- 1:57:10Speaker 24: stick with him, and this team is not good enough
- 1:57:14Speaker 24: to And I don't think that Palo's great enough yet
- 1:57:18Speaker 24: to be the guy that's just give the ball. He's
- 1:57:21Speaker 24: not Luca or Nikola Yoka. Cha yeah, get me the ball.
- 1:57:24Speaker 24: I'll figure it. I'll figure it out. He has days
- 1:57:28Speaker 24: like that, which is why I think the team and
- 1:57:30Speaker 24: he gets tricked into this thought of like I'm a
- 1:57:32Speaker 24: thirty five to forty point yeah per night kind of guy.
- 1:57:36Speaker 3: He's not that.
- 1:57:37Speaker 24: I think the offense needs to run more fluidly, and
- 1:57:41Speaker 24: when he's on the floor, things get bogged down a
- 1:57:44Speaker 24: little bit because the guys that are around Paalo look
- 1:57:47Speaker 24: to him and go get us a bucket, and that's
- 1:57:49Speaker 24: just not the right way to operate. So the team
- 1:57:51Speaker 24: is not better without him, they're better when they don't
- 1:57:53Speaker 24: run through him. I think that's the answer that I've
- 1:57:55Speaker 24: come up with.
- 1:57:55Speaker 2: Overall record right now ten and eight eight, Okay, good,
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: all right, Well, I mean look at all right, yeah,
- 1:58:02Speaker 2: I mean.
- 1:58:02Speaker 24: There's eighty two games in the season, and they've got
- 1:58:05Speaker 24: this in season tournament that the NBA started up a
- 1:58:08Speaker 24: couple of years ago.
- 1:58:09Speaker 3: They're two to zero in group play.
- 1:58:11Speaker 24: They have the other two games that they play within
- 1:58:13Speaker 24: that this week, Philadelphia and the Detroit Pistons.
- 1:58:18Speaker 3: This is not going to matter to anybody until they advance.
- 1:58:21Speaker 24: But if they win the next two games this week,
- 1:58:24Speaker 24: the only two games this week, if they win those,
- 1:58:27Speaker 24: they'll advance to the knockout round, okay, and then eventually
- 1:58:31Speaker 24: that's the quarterfinals. If you then win your next game,
- 1:58:34Speaker 24: it's a single elimination, you advance to Las Vegas, where
- 1:58:38Speaker 24: you can play in what is basically it is in
- 1:58:41Speaker 24: early it's the way.
- 1:58:42Speaker 3: Of the NBA promoting themselves before Christmas.
- 1:58:45Speaker 24: Get to Vegas and you play in like a mini
- 1:58:48Speaker 24: playoff series against some of the best teams in the NBA,
- 1:58:52Speaker 24: and it's it does it matter? Not really, but the
- 1:58:54Speaker 24: Lakers hung a banner for this, so I guess it's important. Yeah,
- 1:58:57Speaker 24: and it's a very soccer esque kind of thing a
- 1:58:59Speaker 24: little bit.
- 1:59:00Speaker 7: It absolutely is. They are swaggerjacking that from European football.
- 1:59:04Speaker 24: Adam Silver is obsessed with everything European. That's what people
- 1:59:08Speaker 24: have figured out, So anything of European basketball or European soccer,
- 1:59:13Speaker 24: he'll steal ideas and make them NBA A Well, maybe he.
- 1:59:17Speaker 7: Can steal an idea from European sports by not having
- 1:59:21Speaker 7: anybody sports broadcasting having to use the term scheduled loss.
- 1:59:27Speaker 7: That's heartbreaking. Like, I love sports and the fact and
- 1:59:31Speaker 7: he's right, it's just weird how load management only has
- 1:59:34Speaker 7: to come from the players, but when load management happens
- 1:59:37Speaker 7: from the league, no one bats an eye.
- 1:59:42Speaker 3: It's the biggest problem that the NBA face.
- 1:59:43Speaker 7: Hey, there's just too many games, man, and I get it,
- 1:59:47Speaker 7: like there's always been too many games. You blink and
- 1:59:49Speaker 7: all of a sudden, the record is a losing season.
- 1:59:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:59:53Speaker 24: I could do an hour on that. I mean, that
- 1:59:55Speaker 24: is just it's such a loaded topic. It's such an
- 1:59:58Speaker 24: issue for the league you had. I'll give you the
- 2:00:01Speaker 24: best example recently of this going south for fans. This
- 2:00:06Speaker 24: is because this is who gets screwed as the consumer,
- 2:00:09Speaker 24: Miami Heat hosting the Golden State Warriors. When you're an
- 2:00:12Speaker 24: Eastern Conference team hosting a Western Conference team, it's the
- 2:00:14Speaker 24: only time that season that team is coming to your building. Hey,
- 2:00:18Speaker 24: we understand, it's sports. Sometimes guys get hurt. The Warriors
- 2:00:22Speaker 24: were in Orlando the night before. It was the second
- 2:00:24Speaker 24: night of a back to back. Steve Kerr, the head
- 2:00:26Speaker 24: coach of the Warriors, had just complained about how grueling
- 2:00:29Speaker 24: their particular schedule was to start the season, and I'm
- 2:00:32Speaker 24: convinced that to make a point, he benched every single
- 2:00:35Speaker 24: player in the starting lineup. So, if you're a Miami
- 2:00:39Speaker 24: Heat fan that bought tickets to go to watch the
- 2:00:41Speaker 24: Golden State Warriors, one of the best buys that you
- 2:00:45Speaker 24: can purchase as an NBA fan, You saw no Steph Curry,
- 2:00:49Speaker 24: you saw no Jimmy Butler used to play for the Heat,
- 2:00:52Speaker 24: so that's its own storyline. No Draymond Green yea, And yeah,
- 2:00:56Speaker 24: you got stuck with a bad ticket. And that's something
- 2:01:00Speaker 24: the NBA has to figure out it's okay if it happens.
- 2:01:03Speaker 24: Injuries happen sometimes. Patrick Mahomes won't be playing quarterback for
- 2:01:07Speaker 24: the Chase because he's injured. But when you do it
- 2:01:09Speaker 24: on purpose, it really puts up the middle finger to
- 2:01:12Speaker 24: the fans and they've got to figure out a way
- 2:01:14Speaker 24: around that.
- 2:01:14Speaker 3: But again, that's a much longer conversation for another day.
- 2:01:17Speaker 2: Have a good thanks even, buddy.
- 2:01:18Speaker 24: Thank you you guys too. I am thankful for my
- 2:01:20Speaker 24: visits every single week.
- 2:01:25Speaker 2: You're the best, buddyppreciate it all right for our seven
- 2:01:27Speaker 2: nine six four one text us seven seven zero three one.
- 2:01:29Speaker 2: We will do ross thoughts next day.
- 2:01:31Speaker 23: Put hey, happy Monday, Colbertian your favorite uncle here. Nobody's
- 2:01:50Speaker 23: ever stopped and thought about you think cucumber farmers have
- 2:01:54Speaker 23: a problem with squatters.
- 2:01:55Speaker 6: H Nobody thinks about them now day.
- 2:02:01Speaker 4: And that's the uncle you worry about to Thanksgiving, all right.
- 2:02:05Speaker 2: Welcome back. I'm Jim's dad. He Jack is here as well.
- 2:02:09Speaker 2: Let's get some ross thoughts please.
- 2:02:11Speaker 1: It's weird said, it's funny Monday. Sometimes it's trot to
- 2:02:16Speaker 1: you by. It's ross spelled like sauce to it. It's
- 2:02:22Speaker 1: ross thought. That is right, folks injured on the go.
- 2:02:25Speaker 7: Just call MO. Just had a friend guy into one
- 2:02:27Speaker 7: of those bad things you call car wreck, and I
- 2:02:30Speaker 7: was like, oh, I got you covered, boom, send him
- 2:02:32Speaker 7: the website and everything that's right, slip and fall, car accident,
- 2:02:35Speaker 7: injured on the go.
- 2:02:36Speaker 3: Just call MO.
- 2:02:38Speaker 7: I am so happy and that it's Thanksgiving.
- 2:02:42Speaker 2: I'm happy, he too, buddy.
- 2:02:43Speaker 7: I don't understand, you know, like I've heard I've heard
- 2:02:46Speaker 7: this take that. Uh, like I recently heard that he
- 2:02:50Speaker 7: someone close to me found Thanksgiving sad because he goes
- 2:02:54Speaker 7: like a families shouldn't have a reason or need.
- 2:02:58Speaker 2: A hog special data get together.
- 2:03:00Speaker 1: And do this.
- 2:03:01Speaker 7: Yeah, and you know what, You're right, but that's also
- 2:03:03Speaker 7: a pipe dream, dude. If you were to take away
- 2:03:06Speaker 7: Thanksgiving out of our reality, we would have less family dinners.
- 2:03:10Speaker 2: Yeah that's a fact. Yeah probably so yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 2:03:13Speaker 2: I think most families actually, well I say a lot
- 2:03:15Speaker 2: of families probably look for the time of the year
- 2:03:17Speaker 2: to see their family, your extended family.
- 2:03:19Speaker 7: That one time and I asked this question with all
- 2:03:23Speaker 7: of my closest friends, and I would love to have
- 2:03:24Speaker 7: this answer. And this isn't my favorite Thanksgiving question, but
- 2:03:27Speaker 7: it is the most important Thanksgiving question, especially for a
- 2:03:31Speaker 7: live radios. Right, what is your favorite Thanksgiving memory? What's
- 2:03:35Speaker 7: the first one that just jumped into your brain?
- 2:03:38Speaker 1: None?
- 2:03:39Speaker 2: All right, you don't have a you don't have a
- 2:03:42Speaker 2: good things give me memory?
- 2:03:43Speaker 6: Yeah, let me think about it while you talk about yours.
- 2:03:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 2:03:47Speaker 7: I'll go first, just to maybe get your little piston
- 2:03:51Speaker 7: engines going on, because mine had nothing to do with
- 2:03:54Speaker 7: food whatsoever.
- 2:03:55Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:03:55Speaker 7: On Thanksgiving, my mom brought my brother and I to
- 2:03:59Speaker 7: Bush Garden. Don't know why, don't even really care to
- 2:04:03Speaker 7: find out, but we went. Maybe she just was like,
- 2:04:06Speaker 7: I ain't cooking this year. I was probably seven or
- 2:04:09Speaker 7: eight years old, and I had been to theme parks
- 2:04:12Speaker 7: before and been on rides, but I had never seen
- 2:04:16Speaker 7: a park that dead and that true. My brain was
- 2:04:20Speaker 7: short circuiting, going, wait, we can just keep going on rides, right,
- 2:04:24Speaker 7: there's nobody here without the fifty to seventy five minute Wait.
- 2:04:28Speaker 7: I rode Monsu seven times on Thanksgiving with my mom
- 2:04:33Speaker 7: and my brother, and my mom loves that ride. Maybe
- 2:04:37Speaker 7: she just loves good Egyptian theming. I don't know, but
- 2:04:40Speaker 7: we just Monsu on Thanksgiving by far my favorite thanksgiving memory.
- 2:04:46Speaker 2: You know, for me, it would have been like when
- 2:04:48Speaker 2: I was younger and my grandmother's my grandmother was still
- 2:04:51Speaker 2: with us after our thanks to me and you remember,
- 2:04:54Speaker 2: and I don't know if other families are like this,
- 2:04:56Speaker 2: but my grandmother's house was like the meeting point for
- 2:04:58Speaker 2: the rest of the family. Although the extended family would
- 2:05:00Speaker 2: come to my grandmother's house, even though it wasn't the
- 2:05:03Speaker 2: nicest house. We had an aunt that actually had air conditioning.
- 2:05:06Speaker 7: Yeah, but it was the most important house.
- 2:05:08Speaker 2: But it was the most important house by a million.
- 2:05:10Speaker 2: And I remember that we lived or my grandmother's house
- 2:05:14Speaker 2: was right by the high school, so you could actually
- 2:05:16Speaker 2: go to my grandmother's house and go in the backyard.
- 2:05:19Speaker 2: The fence that separated my grandmother's house from other property.
- 2:05:23Speaker 2: That property was the high school. There was a softball
- 2:05:25Speaker 2: field actually right behind my grandmother's house. So we after eating,
- 2:05:29Speaker 2: we'd kind of chill out a little bit, and then
- 2:05:31Speaker 2: we would all go out and play a game of
- 2:05:33Speaker 2: family softball, where all our whole family. There'd be like
- 2:05:36Speaker 2: maybe fifteen of us, and we will play a game
- 2:05:38Speaker 2: of softball. And we did that for only a couple
- 2:05:40Speaker 2: of three years. But I remember those times as much
- 2:05:42Speaker 2: as I remember. I remember what I was wearing. I mean,
- 2:05:46Speaker 2: have you ever shared that. I've never told anybody that, Yeah,
- 2:05:49Speaker 2: because you should. I was wearing a mellow yellow T
- 2:05:53Speaker 2: shirt that I won from a bottle cap contest, and
- 2:05:59Speaker 2: then a pair of jeans or something were out there playing.
- 2:06:01Speaker 2: It was the greatest ever I never That's when I
- 2:06:03Speaker 2: realized how good my mom was. What an athlete my
- 2:06:05Speaker 2: mother was. I knew she was good, but I didn't
- 2:06:07Speaker 2: realize she was such a great athlete. Going to my
- 2:06:10Speaker 2: mom was an incredible athlete, straight whipping that and she
- 2:06:12Speaker 2: could throw it, dude, some joke and she could throw it.
- 2:06:15Speaker 7: And I don't care. Whenever you clock a softball and
- 2:06:17Speaker 7: it goes and say it says forty five, that looks
- 2:06:20Speaker 7: faster than a one to oh five baseball to me.
- 2:06:23Speaker 2: So much fun, dude. We used to have the best
- 2:06:25Speaker 2: time doing that.
- 2:06:26Speaker 7: Jack, your favorite Thanksgiving memory, Let's see what I remember,
- 2:06:33Speaker 7: is like some of the kids art, because when the
- 2:06:35Speaker 7: kids were in school, they have special Thanksgiving themed art.
- 2:06:39Speaker 5: So I remember that as always being something neat because
- 2:06:42Speaker 5: it's just a reminder of family.
- 2:06:43Speaker 2: Also, the finger turkey, The finger turkey also putting the turkey. Yeah,
- 2:06:51Speaker 2: that's that'll come up next writing putting the leaf in
- 2:06:54Speaker 2: the table to make it bigger.
- 2:06:56Speaker 5: Oh yeah, but it always meant that more people were
- 2:06:59Speaker 5: going to be there, so that's always kind of an
- 2:07:01Speaker 5: exciting thing.
- 2:07:02Speaker 2: When when we were doing that debb Yep.
- 2:07:05Speaker 4: For me, it would be when I traveled to Kansas
- 2:07:08Speaker 4: several years ago with my mom to meet my U,
- 2:07:11Speaker 4: my brother's.
- 2:07:12Speaker 6: Wife, Nice his fiance at the time.
- 2:07:14Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 2:07:15Speaker 6: Yeah, it was really a good time. Well, I mean Lawrence, Kansas.
- 2:07:18Speaker 7: It's epic because it's a meeting of first Yeah, you know,
- 2:07:21Speaker 7: first impressions go a long way, exactly, the exactly sprinkle
- 2:07:25Speaker 7: in the epicness of the tradition that is Thanksgiving.
- 2:07:28Speaker 2: Yeah, we've also had some interesting ones. We were actually
- 2:07:32Speaker 2: camping during one We went camping during Thanksgiving and had
- 2:07:35Speaker 2: a picnic basically a picnic, but my father in law,
- 2:07:38Speaker 2: because he's a chaplain, was on call and just as
- 2:07:41Speaker 2: I was cutting the turkey, he got called out, Oh
- 2:07:43Speaker 2: so to leave dinner. And then one time we didn't
- 2:07:45Speaker 2: meet plans. We're like, we're going out and did not
- 2:07:47Speaker 2: realize where we were going out because we just thought
- 2:07:50Speaker 2: there's gonna be somebody open, We'll just go and there
- 2:07:53Speaker 2: was nobody open, and we wound up eating at a
- 2:07:56Speaker 2: at a like a seafood shack in Saint Augustine, and
- 2:07:59Speaker 2: they decided to open on Thanksgiving and did not staff
- 2:08:03Speaker 2: enough because there were a lot of people in the
- 2:08:04Speaker 2: same boat we were in. I remember that story, just
- 2:08:06Speaker 2: gonna go out there and that Thanksgiving dinner lasted six
- 2:08:09Speaker 2: hours at a restaurant whoa sure did.
- 2:08:13Speaker 14: So this.
- 2:08:15Speaker 7: Is the best Thanksgiving question, because the hackiest Thanksgiving question
- 2:08:21Speaker 7: what are you thankful for?
- 2:08:22Speaker 2: You thankful? What are you thankful for?
- 2:08:25Speaker 8: Well?
- 2:08:25Speaker 2: I got a little.
- 2:08:26Speaker 7: Remix for that. All right, I'm really proud of this question,
- 2:08:31Speaker 7: and there's no wrong answer. But I want to know
- 2:08:34Speaker 7: what is the fifteenth thing you're most thankful for? The fifteenth,
- 2:08:38Speaker 7: I want to know the twenty third thing you're most
- 2:08:41Speaker 7: thankful for. I want to know the forty eighth. So
- 2:08:43Speaker 7: getting in a minutia in the minutia of life, because listen,
- 2:08:47Speaker 7: we know your top ten mom, dad, kid.
- 2:08:50Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody said the same thing, right.
- 2:08:52Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, right, But it's all about the Devil's in
- 2:08:56Speaker 7: the details.
- 2:08:56Speaker 2: I'll give you one. Yeah, I'm thankful for the times
- 2:08:59Speaker 2: I leave my house and do not hit a red
- 2:09:01Speaker 2: light on my way to work.
- 2:09:02Speaker 7: And then what is that in your top one hundred ranking?
- 2:09:05Speaker 2: That's better my kids? I don't know, man, I like
- 2:09:12Speaker 2: small stuff like that. I like it when things kind
- 2:09:14Speaker 2: of work the times, like a like a like a
- 2:09:16Speaker 2: fifty eater. Yeah, I'll tell you what it feels like.
- 2:09:18Speaker 2: It feels like if life was a combination lock. When
- 2:09:22Speaker 2: things like that happen, you hit that click perfectly and
- 2:09:24Speaker 2: you just get to cruise through a day of life
- 2:09:27Speaker 2: like it does. There's no speed bumps or anything like that.
- 2:09:29Speaker 2: There's no weird you just everything goes well that day.
- 2:09:32Speaker 2: That's that's like one of my favorite things.
- 2:09:34Speaker 7: And what a fun way to find out that you
- 2:09:36Speaker 7: struggled with simple locks. I would say right now, the
- 2:09:44Speaker 7: thirty fifth thing that I am most thankful and grateful
- 2:09:47Speaker 7: for is in Yoki Yoki.
- 2:09:51Speaker 10: The food.
- 2:09:52Speaker 2: Yeah, the Italian pasta nugget, yeah, yeah, yea yeah. The
- 2:09:55Speaker 2: pillow yeah, the pillow. Yeah.
- 2:09:57Speaker 5: So that's how you say it, I mean it's yoke, yoke, yeah,
- 2:10:01Speaker 5: you yoke. Well, it sounded much more Asian when Ross
- 2:10:04Speaker 5: said it. We're talking about an anime.
- 2:10:07Speaker 6: Just don't let him hit that sounder.
- 2:10:09Speaker 2: I love watching we just know it's not Goenoch, no.
- 2:10:13Speaker 7: No, no, GENOCHI yeah, I enjoy right now. That's like
- 2:10:18Speaker 7: where my thankfulness is on that.
- 2:10:21Speaker 2: Dude. I am dying to know what Deb's like. Twentieth
- 2:10:24Speaker 2: most thankful thing is, yeah.
- 2:10:26Speaker 7: Give me a twenty third most thankful thing we know.
- 2:10:28Speaker 2: One through nineteen is marbles.
- 2:10:33Speaker 6: Yeah, that would be yeah, mom.
- 2:10:35Speaker 2: One through twenty and then whatever.
- 2:10:37Speaker 4: That, Oh it would be mom, Chris, and then yeah,
- 2:10:41Speaker 4: twenty fifth it's a beautiful weekend morning when Chris and
- 2:10:45Speaker 4: I can just enjoy a cup of coffee on the
- 2:10:47Speaker 4: front porch and talk all right.
- 2:10:48Speaker 7: Now, this is when it gets a little bit weirder.
- 2:10:50Speaker 7: What about seventy fifth?
- 2:10:52Speaker 6: That would be Jimmy.
- 2:10:53Speaker 4: When you you go to work and there's no entailgating
- 2:10:56Speaker 4: you you hit all the lights right, there's no traffic.
- 2:10:59Speaker 4: It's a beautifull drive in or a beautiful drive home.
- 2:11:02Speaker 2: Like going downtown tonight, just pulling up and seeing one
- 2:11:04Speaker 2: parking space open that we can back right into. That's
- 2:11:07Speaker 2: just golden, dude.
- 2:11:07Speaker 6: Oh you're going downtown tonight.
- 2:11:09Speaker 7: I have to Yeah, Oh people do that, Deb, I
- 2:11:12Speaker 7: know it's no, no, no, it's.
- 2:11:13Speaker 6: Because I for a shut down there. We're gonna be
- 2:11:15Speaker 6: a night.
- 2:11:15Speaker 2: We'll whiggle away through.
- 2:11:16Speaker 7: One hundred and fifth thing I'm most thankful for you've
- 2:11:20Speaker 7: thought about this how long?
- 2:11:20Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 2:11:21Speaker 7: Is whenever I vacuum underneath this one coffee table because
- 2:11:28Speaker 7: it just collects so much. And then get this dude.
- 2:11:31Speaker 7: The head of the vacuum just like kisses like a glove.
- 2:11:36Speaker 7: Oh really, underneath the coffee table legs. It's how baby
- 2:11:41Speaker 7: coffee tables are made. Every time I vacuum this thing,
- 2:11:45Speaker 7: it is, it is right there on.
- 2:11:47Speaker 2: It makes me so happy. I like opening up the
- 2:11:50Speaker 2: vanity in my bathroom and realizing there are fresh, perfectly
- 2:11:54Speaker 2: washed towels, like perfectly.
- 2:11:56Speaker 6: Fresh towels that you obviously did not wash.
- 2:12:00Speaker 7: I give you your thirty fifth spewing numbers, and you
- 2:12:03Speaker 7: start answering.
- 2:12:04Speaker 5: Redundancy It's when I have a backup coffee to the
- 2:12:08Speaker 5: coffee I'm using. It's when I have backup toilet paper
- 2:12:12Speaker 5: to the toilet paper.
- 2:12:13Speaker 2: I already have.
- 2:12:14Speaker 5: It's the redundancy of knowing I'm not running out of
- 2:12:17Speaker 5: the stuff. I have a backup coffee creamer to the
- 2:12:20Speaker 5: coffee creamer.
- 2:12:21Speaker 6: I have just reminded me I need coffee creamer.
- 2:12:23Speaker 7: I mean, if you love redundancy, then boy, you're gonna
- 2:12:26Speaker 7: love ross thoughts. But I wouldn't even use redundancy there.
- 2:12:33Speaker 7: I think that's just preparation. I think that's safety. I
- 2:12:35Speaker 7: think that's that's comfort.
- 2:12:38Speaker 6: I think you used to work at NASA.
- 2:12:40Speaker 8: Nah.
- 2:12:40Speaker 7: The sixty second thing you're most grateful for.
- 2:12:42Speaker 5: When I call home and I say what's for dinner?
- 2:12:45Speaker 5: And my wife says burgers with onion rings.
- 2:12:48Speaker 8: Oh?
- 2:12:49Speaker 2: Really you like that? I like onion rings?
- 2:12:51Speaker 10: All right, right now?
- 2:12:52Speaker 6: He really is a kid at heart.
- 2:12:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll boom one up for you ready, All right? Well?
- 2:12:56Speaker 7: What number? What number?
- 2:12:57Speaker 8: Oh?
- 2:12:57Speaker 10: This is?
- 2:12:57Speaker 2: This is actually a little too high on the list.
- 2:12:59Speaker 2: Is probably like twenty five or thirty Fresh crossword Waking
- 2:13:10Speaker 2: up Sunday morning, going in, making a cup of coffee,
- 2:13:14Speaker 2: sitting down, printing out the Orlando Sentinel crossword by Frank Longo,
- 2:13:19Speaker 2: and then going and sitting on the back porch smoking
- 2:13:21Speaker 2: a cigar while doing that crossword?

- 2:13:35Speaker 7: got to step in.
- 2:13:36Speaker 2: You can't.
- 2:13:37Speaker 6: I can't do it for a while with a with

- 2:13:43Speaker 2: it's true.
- 2:13:43Speaker 7: But then you walk out looking like a minor professor
- 2:13:46Speaker 7: at listen.
- 2:13:47Speaker 2: The reason I dropped that thing is because my wife
- 2:13:49Speaker 2: did walk in the room one day and she goes,
- 2:13:51Speaker 2: what are you doing? And when I and when I
- 2:13:53Speaker 2: said crossword, that's what it got sickening for him, because
- 2:13:55Speaker 2: she's like, if you're working on something, that's fine. If

- 2:14:46Speaker 2: let it Rod, just let it go. This is tomorrow's problem. Yeah.
- 2:14:51Speaker 2: Now you start figuring out how far the gas station
- 2:14:53Speaker 2: is from your house, so you know that that four
- 2:14:55Speaker 2: miles of gas will get you there.
- 2:14:57Speaker 7: There is so many things because I'm done with the

- 2:15:11Speaker 2: I'm grateful when I sit down at a restaurant I
- 2:15:13Speaker 2: said Coco Pepsi and they say Pepsi products. Hacho, I'll
- 2:15:16Speaker 2: never not come here.
- 2:15:17Speaker 7: I am grateful for whenever I am looking for my
- 2:15:22Speaker 7: Xbox controller and my son has it in his hand
- 2:15:26Speaker 7: and he's just pushing the center button to turn on
- 2:15:28Speaker 7: the Xbox to go bing so you can look at it.

- 2:15:50Speaker 7: There are so many things to be grateful for it.
- 2:15:53Speaker 7: And if you're listening to this right now, please do
- 2:15:55Speaker 7: this exercise on this commercial break, because I promise you
- 2:15:59Speaker 7: it's actually a lot easier to go ahead and think
- 2:16:02Speaker 7: about the fifty fifth thing that you're most grateful for.
- 2:16:05Speaker 7: In fact, I think it might be even more important
- 2:16:08Speaker 7: to find.
- 2:16:09Speaker 2: Ourself is kind of understood. It's a given right. Tell me,
- 2:16:12Speaker 2: I agree, find a small thing.
- 2:16:15Speaker 7: Texting service, text me your fifty third thing that you're
- 2:16:18Speaker 7: the most grateful for.
- 2:16:19Speaker 2: How about when you turn the TV on for the
- 2:16:21Speaker 2: first time and it just happens to be on the
- 2:16:22Speaker 2: channel you wanted to go to?
- 2:16:23Speaker 7: Begin with, Oh god, as a cable everyone's streaming. Okay,

- 2:16:49Speaker 4: gravy and a squeeze bottle.
- 2:16:51Speaker 6: We'll talk about that next during you hear first.
- 2:16:53Speaker 2: Fourth gravy story. You've had the news over the last week,

- 2:17:57Speaker 25: But it's an empty trash can. When I take out
- 2:18:01Speaker 25: the full lining out of my trash can and I
- 2:18:03Speaker 25: put in a new trash bag and it's empty, and
- 2:18:07Speaker 25: I just start throwing trash in there again and it's
- 2:18:09Speaker 25: almost like a bottomless.
- 2:18:10Speaker 3: Pit for a while.
- 2:18:12Speaker 6: Feels good.
- 2:18:12Speaker 25: Okay, I'm thankful for that.
- 2:18:14Speaker 3: It's wild.
- 2:18:15Speaker 11: My fifty third thing that I am thankful for is
- 2:18:18Speaker 11: when I open up YouTube to watch the Jim Colbert
- 2:18:21Speaker 11: Show live on a Monday and I see in that
- 2:18:25Speaker 11: fourth window Ross Paget's face.
- 2:18:27Speaker 2: Oh, it made my day so much brighter.
- 2:18:31Speaker 6: We feel the same, hello, friends.
- 2:18:34Speaker 4: So like the fifty fifth thing that I'm thankful for,
- 2:18:38Speaker 4: and this might sound gross, but I know my pet
- 2:18:41Speaker 4: parents are going to understand when the cat throws.
- 2:18:44Speaker 6: Up on the tile, yes, not on the rug, Yes, sad.

- 2:19:24Speaker 2: As hard as I know? Yeah, Yeah, I haven't heard anything,
- 2:19:26Speaker 2: so I guess maybe he is. I know he's going
- 2:19:27Speaker 2: up to South Carolina. I don't know. We'll find out.
- 2:19:30Speaker 2: He hasn't said anything. He would have told me though,
- 2:19:32Speaker 2: because I asked him if he's gonna be in town.
- 2:19:34Speaker 2: I'm gonna try to rip it. We're gonna try to
- 2:19:35Speaker 2: play some golf. But I don't think he's I think

- 2:19:46Speaker 3: What do you got for news? Good time for you
- 2:19:50Speaker 3: heard it here first on the Jim Colbert.
- 2:19:52Speaker 2: I'm already headbanging today.
- 2:19:56Speaker 4: Robin Severance Lopez filed a guilty please yeah for her
- 2:20:00Speaker 4: illegal gambling case weeks before she was to go on trial.
- 2:20:04Speaker 4: Court documents showed the estranged wife of former Ostila County
- 2:20:07Speaker 4: Sheriff Marcos Lopez pleaded guilty to money laundering Marcos Logoz
- 2:20:13Speaker 4: money laundering stemming from her June arrest as part of
- 2:20:16Speaker 4: an investigation into an illegal casino operation in Ostila County.
- 2:20:20Speaker 4: Now Marcos Lopez also arrested along with several others. She
- 2:20:24Speaker 4: also pleaded guilty to providing false information on a bail application. Meanwhile,
- 2:20:29Speaker 4: the owner of an illegal casino, Krishna Diokaran, has also
- 2:20:34Speaker 4: accepted a plea deal in the case and agreed to
- 2:20:37Speaker 4: be a state witness.
- 2:20:38Speaker 2: See that's what I thought about about what's her face?
- 2:20:40Speaker 2: I like, that would be very bad news if your
- 2:20:42Speaker 2: Marco Lopez, because if she cut a deal and is
- 2:20:46Speaker 2: now going to talk. And by the way, I think
- 2:20:47Speaker 2: they have some other correspondence I read about today where
- 2:20:51Speaker 2: when they would show up to get the money from
- 2:20:53Speaker 2: the casinos, the person handing the money over would say,
- 2:20:56Speaker 2: this is for Sheriff Marco Lopez.
- 2:20:58Speaker 4: And that actually, according to court documents, took place in
- 2:21:02Speaker 4: the parking lot of the Ostiola County Sheriff's office.
- 2:21:06Speaker 7: All good things happen in parking lots.
- 2:21:08Speaker 4: Governor Ron DeSantis is pushing back against a lawsuit from
- 2:21:11Speaker 4: Democratic lawmakers who want unannounced access to Alligator Alcatraz.
- 2:21:16Speaker 6: He says they don't have the legal right to walk
- 2:21:18Speaker 6: in whenever they want.
- 2:21:20Speaker 4: State attorneys argue the rules that let lawmakers enter correctional
- 2:21:23Speaker 4: facilities don't apply here because this is a short term
- 2:21:28Speaker 4: civil detention site run under federal authority. The dispute is
- 2:21:32Speaker 4: now landed in a Leon County Circuit court. Interesting, and then, finally,
- 2:21:36Speaker 4: just in time for Thanksgiving, Hines is out with turkey
- 2:21:40Speaker 4: gravy and a squeeze bottle.
- 2:21:41Speaker 2: Okay.

- 2:21:48Speaker 8: Oh?
- 2:21:48Speaker 2: Yeah, my wife loves it. We sweat Friends all the time.
- 2:21:50Speaker 2: I've not seen the squeeze bottle of gravy from Friends though, No.
- 2:21:53Speaker 3: It's not.
- 2:21:54Speaker 6: It's the Friends famous moist maker sandwich.
- 2:21:56Speaker 3: Oh there you go.

- 2:22:10Speaker 4: what's builled as the ultimate Thanksgiving leftover sandwich. Details on
- 2:22:15Speaker 4: the limited edition kit are available at Walmart dot com.
- 2:22:18Speaker 4: Nice and you heard it here first, I'm the Jim Colbert.
- 2:22:21Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 2:22:22Speaker 7: I'm laughing because what happens when you run out of
- 2:22:24Speaker 7: ketchup on those bottles? Oh yeah right, You got to
- 2:22:27Speaker 7: like squeeze hard and they start chirping back, and then
- 2:22:30Speaker 7: now you got gravy in that bottle and it's just like.
