Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Do I throw it away or do I give it away?
- 0:02Speaker 1: It's one more thing.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I'm strong and getty.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Oh a rare.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Michaelangelo hosts one more thing before we get to his topic.
- 0:15Speaker 2: During the radio show, we brought up that the smart
- 0:19Speaker 2: rings that you can get I guess there's a couple
- 0:21Speaker 2: of different brands, is like this four and a dollar
- 0:22Speaker 2: ring you wear on your finger and it can measure
- 0:25Speaker 2: all your heart health, sleep, habits, blah blah blah stuff.
- 0:30Speaker 2: And you have an app with your phone and everything
- 0:32Speaker 2: like that. And you said you had one for a while, Katie.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Yeah, And I checked it probably regularly for maybe a
- 0:39Speaker 3: month and a half two months, and I was like,
- 0:41Speaker 3: all right, it's just I don't know what to do
- 0:43Speaker 3: with this information.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Oh that's a pretty decent point. And I would imagine
- 0:50Speaker 2: unless you make drastic changes in your life, a lot
- 0:52Speaker 2: of it's going to be the same for a very
- 0:54Speaker 2: long time, maybe the rest of your life.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:57Speaker 2: But so you got indications that you weren't sleeping much
- 1:01Speaker 2: or enough.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I wasn't getting enough hours and I wasn't spending
- 1:05Speaker 3: enough time in rem sleep and I've again, I don't
- 1:09Speaker 3: know how to change that.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Was it like sleep apnea or something like that, because
- 1:13Speaker 4: I worry about that occasionally.
- 1:14Speaker 3: But m M, it wasn't sleep apna. My heart rate
- 1:17Speaker 3: stayed the same, my breathing was normal. It was just
- 1:20Speaker 3: I bounce out of deep sleep really quickly.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Well that's a good point. Now, the hours, obviously, you
- 1:25Speaker 2: could we could all change the number of hours we
- 1:27Speaker 2: spend in bed. You can't change the number of hours
- 1:30Speaker 2: that you're in ram. I mean, I don't know how
- 1:32Speaker 2: I would.
- 1:34Speaker 3: No something specific going on, and I have this weird
- 1:37Speaker 3: complex where it's like I felt like it was telling
- 1:38Speaker 3: me I was doing a bad job.
- 1:39Speaker 2: So I was like, I'm done listening to you. That's funny.
- 1:43Speaker 2: That's what Tim Sanderfer says. He doesn't want his watch
- 1:46Speaker 2: yelling at him for not standing up enough and stuff.
- 1:49Speaker 4: Yeah, no, kidding, shut up.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I had a dream the other night that I was
- 1:55Speaker 2: lifting weights at the gym. I was by myself in there,
- 1:57Speaker 2: and I dropped the bar on my neck and I
- 2:00Speaker 2: was trying to crawl to my car to drive myself
- 2:03Speaker 2: to the er. And it was one of those dreams
- 2:05Speaker 2: that seemed like that lasted all night long. It could
- 2:07Speaker 2: have been five minutes. Yeah, it's like what does that mean?
- 2:11Speaker 2: And it clearly was. It's funny. I just had the
- 2:13Speaker 2: conversation with the therapist about how I don't ask for help.
- 2:17Speaker 2: I need help with various things. I'm getting snowed under,
- 2:20Speaker 2: trying to take care of the kids by myself, blah
- 2:22Speaker 2: blah blah, don't I hire more help? And that's clearly
- 2:25Speaker 2: what the dream was. I was crawling to my car
- 2:27Speaker 2: with my crushed throat so I could drive myself to
- 2:31Speaker 2: the er rather than calling nine one one or something.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I think that's what the dream.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Meant, right, It sure sounds like it.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Of course, dreams don't have to mean anything. Joe and
- 2:42Speaker 2: I used to have dream analysts on all the time,
- 2:44Speaker 2: and they were mostly Charlatan's.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Ridiculous laughable, so we laughed.
- 2:50Speaker 2: So you know, it wasn't that bad taking advantage of
- 2:52Speaker 2: sad or old people. What's your story, Michael.
- 2:56Speaker 1: My wife has looked in the closet and says I
- 2:59Speaker 1: need to throw away all my old.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Clothes basically because of fashion or size.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I don't wear them and it's just taking up space.
- 3:07Speaker 1: But yeah, do I I guess the question I have is,
- 3:11Speaker 1: for example, we have some old towels. She wants to
- 3:13Speaker 1: change out the towels. But I've told her, hey, just
- 3:15Speaker 1: wash them, we can give them away to goodwill or
- 3:17Speaker 1: something like that. She wants me to throw them away.
- 3:20Speaker 1: And how often do you change out towels? For example?
- 3:24Speaker 1: I mean, do you guys change them out every rid
- 3:26Speaker 1: of them?
- 3:26Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:26Speaker 1: I mean do you change them out every six months?
- 3:29Speaker 4: No? When we're ashamed of them, that's when you you
- 3:32Speaker 4: get rid of. There's nothing you're embarrassed for people to
- 3:35Speaker 4: look at them.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I realize my lifestyle is not like most people's, but
- 3:39Speaker 2: I don't know that I ever have in my life
- 3:42Speaker 2: other than like they just get lost or something.
- 3:45Speaker 1: But yeah, like you, Jack, I just keep the same
- 3:48Speaker 1: towels and keep re washing them. Ye.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I've never kept thirty years.
- 3:52Speaker 2: I've never kept a towel long enough to wear it out.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I don't think.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Can how do you lose them like a bath? Tell
- 3:58Speaker 4: what happens to them?
- 3:59Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't have the same towels I
- 4:02Speaker 2: don't have well, I don't have the same towels I
- 4:04Speaker 2: had when I was twenty five. But I never act.
- 4:07Speaker 4: That's what I'm as, That's what.
- 4:08Speaker 2: I'm wondering too. I've never actively gotten rid of them.
- 4:11Speaker 2: You know what I do a lot, and this is
- 4:14Speaker 2: not good. Is I've moved a lot in my life.
- 4:18Speaker 2: I'm bad at unpacking. I'm doing this right now in
- 4:21Speaker 2: my house. I have an unpacked since my last move.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Like I bought some new a new screwdriver last night
- 4:26Speaker 2: at the store because I don't know where my screwdriver
- 4:28Speaker 2: is from the move, so I probably do that. I
- 4:31Speaker 2: got boxes of old towels. I've never opened the boxes,
- 4:34Speaker 2: so I had to get new towels. That's probably what
- 4:36Speaker 2: I do. But no, I have never thought does your
- 4:40Speaker 2: wife do this because she wants a different look, like
- 4:42Speaker 2: a different color, or is it because she thinks they're
- 4:45Speaker 2: worn out?
- 4:46Speaker 1: She thinks they're worn out, well, then get new towels.
- 4:49Speaker 1: But what's what I'm trying to save money? And so
- 4:51Speaker 1: what's a.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Worn out tile? What is a worn out towel?
- 4:54Speaker 4: It looks kind of threadbare and just black. Doesn't look
- 4:57Speaker 4: nice anymore.
- 4:57Speaker 2: It's unraveling, Okay, I don't.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I just figure if it washes my body and I'm
- 5:02Speaker 1: happy with you. I wash them and that's it. You
- 5:04Speaker 1: wash yourself with your towel, well, you know you dry
- 5:07Speaker 1: yourself with the towel.
- 5:08Speaker 4: But there you go.
- 5:09Speaker 1: As far as saving money, though, I just, I just
- 5:11Speaker 1: I don't want her to keep buying new stuff.
- 5:13Speaker 2: And it's just, well, this sounds like a thing between
- 5:15Speaker 2: you and your wife.
- 5:16Speaker 4: But wow, yeah, I'm not waiting involve it.
- 5:18Speaker 2: No, I have opinions, but it just doesn't seem like
- 5:20Speaker 2: a good idea away in Although I buy high quality
- 5:23Speaker 2: towels so they would last practically forever, I'm one of
- 5:26Speaker 2: the few things and I've always been willing to splurge on.
- 5:28Speaker 2: I love the feel of a good, high quality towel. Huh. Yeah.
- 5:32Speaker 1: She wants me to throw them away, not give them away.
- 5:35Speaker 1: She says, you can't give those two goodwill And I said,
- 5:37Speaker 1: why not, They're perfectly fine, and she says, no, no,
- 5:40Speaker 1: we've been using them. And I say, well, just wash them.
- 5:43Speaker 4: You know, I would say, bring them to said charity
- 5:48Speaker 4: or a charity of your choice, and if they want them,
- 5:50Speaker 4: they'll take them. If they don't, they will heave them.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Go ahead, Katie, I've got comments, but.
- 5:54Speaker 3: No, I'm just I mean, how bad of shape are
- 5:57Speaker 3: they in?
- 5:57Speaker 4: Michael?
- 5:58Speaker 2: Can you read the newspaper through them?
- 5:59Speaker 4: No?
- 6:00Speaker 1: No, they're in good shape.
- 6:03Speaker 2: So, and I do not want to weigh in this
- 6:07Speaker 2: on this at all. I'm only asking a.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Lady wants new towels, all right, Katie, I'm only the
- 6:12Speaker 4: lady or towels.
- 6:13Speaker 2: I'm only asking for information purposes. So she doesn't want
- 6:17Speaker 2: to give him away because she doesn't think it's cool
- 6:18Speaker 2: to give somebody a used towel. Correct, Okay, well, okay,
- 6:23Speaker 2: by definition, I mean goodwill stuff tends to go to
- 6:25Speaker 2: people that are pretty down and out usually, and I
- 6:29Speaker 2: think they'd rather have a used towel of a no towel.
- 6:31Speaker 1: But you can always donate them.
- 6:33Speaker 3: I was sorry to like the SPCA or something for
- 6:36Speaker 3: the animals.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Dogs don't use towels. I've watched dogs over and over.
- 6:40Speaker 2: They just shake.
- 6:42Speaker 4: I wish they would. Um Boy does backshirt, like if
- 6:45Speaker 4: we walk him in the rain, Boy does. He liked
- 6:47Speaker 4: to get toweled off, so it's a win win. He's
- 6:49Speaker 4: not resistant to it because it feels.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Really it's a race between getting the towel on the
- 6:53Speaker 2: dog and them shaking. They standing in the doorway or
- 6:56Speaker 2: something like that and they shake. You got hair and
- 6:58Speaker 2: splacker everywhere.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Oh yeah. Pro tip towels in the garage. You gotta
- 7:03Speaker 4: be prepped, you gotta be ready. Uh where were we?
- 7:07Speaker 4: Oh yeah, let the free market function, missus, Mike Lingel.
- 7:09Speaker 4: If somebody wants to buy the towels, let them. That
- 7:13Speaker 4: is a coming together of a need and a fulfillment
- 7:16Speaker 4: of that need.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Of course.
- 7:17Speaker 4: I I'm a.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Guy who buys used shoes off of eBay and stuff
- 7:20Speaker 2: like that. So I mean, I think a shoe is
- 7:21Speaker 2: way grosser than a towel. He can wash a towel.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Yeah, Whenever my parents go through a towel or whatever,
- 7:28Speaker 3: my dad cuts it in half and uses them for
- 7:30Speaker 3: the gym.
- 7:31Speaker 2: That's a good idea. Or use it just for like
- 7:35Speaker 2: cleaning my car, washing my car and d yeah, something
- 7:37Speaker 2: like that. Yeah, that is I've done that with towels before.
- 7:39Speaker 2: That's true. I have done that. They move from the
- 7:42Speaker 2: drying my body to the drawing my motorcycle.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Yeah sure, yeah to the garage. Yeah there you go,
- 7:47Speaker 4: win win Michael out to the garage.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Huh Hey, thanks guys. So I'm not throwing them away.
- 7:52Speaker 1: That's that's the bottom line. I'm not gonna throw this.
- 7:55Speaker 2: You're willing to die on that hill? Yes, yes, I
- 7:57Speaker 2: am in a couple more years out of them.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Michael tonight on THHC Towel Hoarders TLC. Whatever is now
- 8:07Speaker 4: THHC is pot, that's never mind.
- 8:09Speaker 2: We'll to TLC is fine. We don't want this to
- 8:12Speaker 2: move to a Judge Judy situation where you got Michael
- 8:15Speaker 2: and his wife yelling at each other. She wants to
- 8:18Speaker 2: throw away the towels. They're disgusting, she says.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Now, but as far as close go, do you when
- 8:24Speaker 1: you give away clothes do you worry about fashion at all?
- 8:27Speaker 1: We're giving them away, yeah, you know, donate them to
- 8:30Speaker 1: like Goodwill or.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Like somebody's gonna go shopping and go, wow, what dick
- 8:35Speaker 3: donated this?
- 8:37Speaker 4: Right right? This shirt sucks. I'm going to figure out
- 8:41Speaker 4: who donated this. Go mocking in there on That's what
- 8:46Speaker 4: I say.
- 8:47Speaker 1: You know, all right, well thanks for your help, guys.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I'm not throwing away.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Those towels, I understand.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Well, I guess that's it.
