- 0:44SPEAKER_10: We got to we were just sitting there, like me and uh Ryan, guitar player, Cam who does sound, and Adam, piano player.
- 0:52SPEAKER_10: We were like we had the aux chord last night too in the bar.
- 0:56SPEAKER_10: So it was just us hanging out with Simon in the bar.
- 0:58SPEAKER_10: Oh nice country songs.
- 1:00SPEAKER_08: How good?
- 1:00SPEAKER_10: It was good.
- 1:01SPEAKER_08: So what are we drinking?
- 1:03SPEAKER_10: This is a James, is it Bogues?
- 1:07SPEAKER_08: Bogues, that's it.
- 1:08SPEAKER_10: You just call it like Bogues or something?
- 1:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think so.
- 1:11SPEAKER_10: Tasmanian beer, huh?
- 1:13SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:13SPEAKER_10: This is good.
- 1:14SPEAKER_04: You like it?
- 1:15SPEAKER_10: This is good.
- 1:16SPEAKER_10: Uh it says I can cause lifelong harm to my baby.
- 1:21SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 1:21SPEAKER_08: But it says concerning.
- 1:24SPEAKER_10: It says that on this.
- 1:24SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
- 1:25SPEAKER_10: They have a really bad like pregnancy warrant.
- 1:27SPEAKER_10: I guess it's like in Australia.
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: It says it on every alcoholic drink in Australia.
- 1:30SPEAKER_08: Should we have a look at another one, perhaps?
- 1:34SPEAKER_08: But this one's good.
- 1:35SPEAKER_08: This one, oh, it's not that cold, sorry.
- 1:38SPEAKER_08: This is the Young Henry's, which is a really cool little craft brew.
- 1:42SPEAKER_10: So am I trying these?
- 1:43SPEAKER_10: Is this?
- 1:44SPEAKER_10: Is that okay?
- 1:45SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:45SPEAKER_10: It's just turning into last night.
- 1:48SPEAKER_08: I have stuff to do after this.
- 1:50SPEAKER_08: Yeah, just have a soup.
- 1:51SPEAKER_08: Do I have stuff to do after this?
- 1:52SPEAKER_08: I think I do.
- 1:53SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:54SPEAKER_10: Um, we'll see.
- 1:56SPEAKER_08: Yeah, so young Henry's.
- 1:57SPEAKER_10: First of all, great crisp on there.
- 1:58SPEAKER_10: The next one I want to open up into the mic so everybody can hear it.
- 2:02SPEAKER_10: Young Henry's.
- 2:03SPEAKER_10: How much beer can one man drink?
- 2:05SPEAKER_10: We're about to find out.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: Which one is it?
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: Is that the lager?
- 2:09SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 2:10SPEAKER_10: Lager.
- 2:10SPEAKER_08: Is that the ringers one as well?
- 2:12SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 2:12SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah, cool.
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: What's your what's your normal go-to type of beer?
- 2:17SPEAKER_10: I've gotten into I've I've really gotten into uh, you know, we play a lot in Europe and I love the German beers, especially a dunkel, which is like a darker beer.
- 2:28SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 2:29SPEAKER_10: Love a dunkel.
- 2:31SPEAKER_10: Um I've gotten like Texas, we have a Shinerbach beer, Shiner beer, which is kind of based off of a German beer.
- 2:39SPEAKER_10: It's kind of a darker kind of beer.
- 2:40SPEAKER_10: So I I I've been going for more of the darker beers.
- 2:43SPEAKER_10: I'm not I I I use my beer drinking bone has as well.
- 2:48SPEAKER_10: I don't like this as much as as bone.
- 2:50SPEAKER_08: That one?
- 2:51SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 2:51SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 2:52SPEAKER_08: Next up.
- 2:52SPEAKER_08: But that one also.
- 2:53SPEAKER_10: But I do like if I have a beer, I'd like to enjoy the beer.
- 2:56SPEAKER_10: And that's why the darker beers, I feel like I'm getting more out of it.
- 2:59SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 2:59SPEAKER_10: I just have one or two and I'm satisfied.
- 3:01SPEAKER_08: This one is calton dry.
- 3:02SPEAKER_08: It's actually become really popular in the last year.
- 3:05SPEAKER_10: Low carb.
- 3:05SPEAKER_10: So this is like a light beer.
- 3:07SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: Right between the lots.
- 3:08SPEAKER_10: We're gonna get we're gonna get a good uh oh.
- 3:12SPEAKER_10: Hey, if you listen to uh uh Bad Day to be a beer song, uh-huh.
- 3:17SPEAKER_10: If you listen to the actual track, yeah, there's a there's a little is that you doing it?
- 3:23SPEAKER_10: That's me doing it.
- 3:24SPEAKER_07: Really?
- 3:25SPEAKER_10: And here's a little trivia for you.
- 3:26SPEAKER_10: You want a beer.
- 3:27SPEAKER_10: Okay, it was like a LaCroix or something, it was some sparkling water.
- 3:30SPEAKER_07: We actually tested the other day.
- 3:32SPEAKER_07: You can tell the difference between yeah, a soft drink and a so there's there's your little tidbit for you.
- 3:38SPEAKER_10: We could phony.
- 3:39SPEAKER_10: I mean, really at the end of the day.
- 3:41SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 3:43SPEAKER_10: Carl Carlton?
- 3:45SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 3:45SPEAKER_10: Carlton.
- 3:46SPEAKER_07: Carlton.
- 3:48SPEAKER_07: So that's like a Victorian beer.
- 3:52SPEAKER_07: There's an L.
- 3:52SPEAKER_10: Oh, it's nice.
- 3:53SPEAKER_10: I think I had one of these in Melbourne.
- 3:55SPEAKER_10: Sorry, Melbourne.
- 3:56SPEAKER_08: Melbourne.
- 3:57SPEAKER_10: Um, I had one of these when I was there.
- 3:59SPEAKER_10: This is this is good.
- 4:00SPEAKER_10: I think I still like the bogue the best.
- 4:02SPEAKER_08: Yep, bogue's is good.
- 4:04SPEAKER_08: What else we got?
- 4:04SPEAKER_08: And then we have another young Henry's, but this is the Newtowner, and Newtown is a small suburb in Sydney in like the inner west.
- 4:11SPEAKER_08: And it's really vibey, and that's where they have their brewery.
- 4:14SPEAKER_10: So here we go.
- 4:16SPEAKER_10: Now that was good.
- 4:18SPEAKER_03: Now it's Chris.
- 4:21SPEAKER_10: That's an interesting.
- 4:22SPEAKER_10: Oh, I'm not gonna like this one.
- 4:23SPEAKER_10: Oh no.
- 4:24SPEAKER_10: You're not a palal.
- 4:25SPEAKER_08: Not a palel guy.
- 4:26SPEAKER_10: I can already smell it.
- 4:29SPEAKER_08: Well, yeah, no.
- 4:31SPEAKER_08: If you like dark beer, you should try Rushes.
- 4:34SPEAKER_08: Reshes, they're they're it's um No, I'm hammered.
- 4:39SPEAKER_08: Their um, their slogan is Rushes Refreshes.
- 4:43SPEAKER_08: It's like that's like probably the most Aussie dark beer that we have.
- 4:46SPEAKER_08: But I'm sure you can find like we have so much craft beer in Australia, so I'm sure that you could go on and beer hunting exercise.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: You do, it's popped off recently.
- 4:58SPEAKER_08: But we're gonna do the burping challenge.
- 5:00SPEAKER_08: We're gonna probably burp.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: Quad.
- 5:03SPEAKER_10: Oh man.
- 5:05SPEAKER_10: All right.
- 5:06SPEAKER_10: This is why I never drink before shows.
- 5:09unknown: Yeah.
- 5:09SPEAKER_07: Oh, is that why?
- 5:10SPEAKER_10: Because you burp on tape, probably like beers, and so for some reason it drives me out.
- 5:14SPEAKER_10: I can never like I never feel like and I too, it's the way a thing.
- 5:18SPEAKER_10: I I can I can forgive myself for having a bad show.
- 5:21SPEAKER_10: Like, sometimes you just voice ain't there.
- 5:23SPEAKER_10: Like, sometimes it happens.
- 5:24SPEAKER_10: We play a lot of shows, but if I was like, I don't know, if I was drunk and had a bad show, I'd be like, Well, that was my own doing.
- 5:31SPEAKER_10: So I just stay away from it.
- 5:32SPEAKER_06: But how do you get hyped for that?
- 5:34SPEAKER_10: I drink for podcasts.
- 5:36SPEAKER_07: That's fine.
- 5:37SPEAKER_10: Go right in.
- 5:39SPEAKER_07: Um, how do you get hyped for your shows?
- 5:42SPEAKER_07: Because like your stage presence is so high energy, like so much presence when you're on stage.
- 5:49SPEAKER_07: How do you like get in the mindset?
- 5:51SPEAKER_07: Especially like at yeah, if you're not drinking.
- 5:54SPEAKER_10: I don't have, you know, and you guys know me.
- 5:56SPEAKER_10: I'm not like I'm not that guy off stage, you know.
- 6:00SPEAKER_10: I I I just like I just kind of spend most of my day conserving energy, I feel like, for the stage.
- 6:09SPEAKER_10: I don't have like appreci- I'm like I'm kind of zoned in.
- 6:12SPEAKER_10: I don't know if I'm a very fun to be around.
- 6:15SPEAKER_07: Like before the show.
- 6:16SPEAKER_10: Before show, because I'm just kind of zoned in um and focused on the show and thinking about the show and like um but I yeah, I I don't really have to hype myself up too much.
- 6:28SPEAKER_10: I kind of like a little quiet space more than anything.
- 6:30SPEAKER_10: I think.
- 6:31SPEAKER_07: And then do you feel like when you go on stage, you're like, it's almost like a different kind of like it snaps into like Yeah, for sure.
- 6:38SPEAKER_10: There's kind of a different mode, I think.
- 6:40SPEAKER_10: I s and at this point I've played so many shows, it's just kind of there yeah, I I definitely snap into some kind of thing.
- 6:49SPEAKER_10: There's nights too.
- 6:50SPEAKER_10: There's plenty of nights where I'm like, I don't know if I got it tonight.
- 6:53SPEAKER_10: You know, I'm like, I'm tired or whatever it is or not feeling well.
- 6:59SPEAKER_10: Um, but usually every time I get up on stage, and if you feed off the crowd, and you're like, okay, you know, and you think about I always try to think about what people had to go through to get to this show.
- 7:11SPEAKER_10: And like it's a big thing for people to even buy a ticket and go to the show.
- 7:15SPEAKER_10: There's so many other things people can do.
- 7:16SPEAKER_10: People can sit at home and do whatever they want on watch Netflix Netflix all night.
- 7:20SPEAKER_10: Like, you know what I'm saying?
- 7:22SPEAKER_10: Like, it takes a lot for somebody to buy a ticket and go to a show.
- 7:26SPEAKER_10: And I try to realize that every night, you know, and people travel and it costs money, and you know, you're paying a lot of money for beers.
- 7:33SPEAKER_10: And so, you know, it's kind of my job to to if they're gonna spend the money like that.
- 7:40SPEAKER_10: I mean, it's uh even show up, even if it's a free show, it's like you know, try to give them the best show.
- 7:46SPEAKER_10: It's like my responsibility, I feel like.
- 7:48SPEAKER_08: We were actually talking to a couple in the crowd last night, and they had um come down from Rockhampton, which is like in far north Queensland.
- 7:56SPEAKER_08: Really?
- 7:56SPEAKER_08: It would be like 30 hours to drive.
- 7:58SPEAKER_10: Whoa.
- 7:59SPEAKER_08: Yeah, they flew down.
- 8:00SPEAKER_10: That's a mess.
- 8:01SPEAKER_10: See, that's amazing.
- 8:01SPEAKER_08: Yeah, right.
- 8:02SPEAKER_10: That's amazing.
- 8:03SPEAKER_10: You had to always cracks me up too.
- 8:04SPEAKER_10: I like people tell me, like, I drove five hours to be here, and I'm like, uh I flew, I flew like three days.
- 8:12SPEAKER_03: Like me too.
- 8:13SPEAKER_10: And back in the day when we had the van, back in the day we had the van, you know, I was like, I drove 12 hours before.
- 8:18SPEAKER_10: I was like, me too.
- 8:21SPEAKER_10: Hey, met in the middle.
- 8:23SPEAKER_10: Five, yeah, but it is impressive, you know, and it's cool.
- 8:26SPEAKER_10: Uh, it's it's always heartwarming.
- 8:28SPEAKER_10: But it's good to be reminded of that because it's easy to kind of get lost in your own world.
- 8:33SPEAKER_07: Do you find when you're on stage, do you see people dancing and like jumping up and down in the crowd?
- 8:38SPEAKER_07: Because last night, like Grace and I go to a lot of concerts, and you had so many people in the crowd, like literally jumping up and down.
- 8:46SPEAKER_07: Like a lot of CB things, and it was such a fun atmosphere.
- 8:51SPEAKER_07: Like, can you see that from the I do see the crowd?
- 8:53SPEAKER_10: I I am I like for some reason I have like eagle vision on stage.
- 8:57SPEAKER_10: I see everything that goes on.
- 8:59SPEAKER_10: It's crazy.
- 9:00SPEAKER_10: Really?
- 9:00SPEAKER_10: But I'll see like little stuff that's happening or like people having a conversation.
- 9:04SPEAKER_10: That's why it and it gets distracting sometimes.
- 9:06SPEAKER_10: I forget words a lot, and I just won't.
- 9:08SPEAKER_10: If I had like a prompter on stage, like a lot of people do, I would just be like reading it all the time.
- 9:13SPEAKER_10: Yeah, so I like you know, I'm like, whatever, I'll just forget words.
- 9:16SPEAKER_10: But like I'll get distracted, especially with like signs or people holding up their phones.
- 9:20SPEAKER_10: Like, if I start reading that, then I'm just like lost on whatever, or I'll be somebody's doing something funny, or like, or I'm or I'm watching a situation of like maybe you know a little domestic or something.
- 9:31SPEAKER_10: Yeah, like a guy, like you can tell, like I'm trying to think of like, yeah, this guy like is trying to hit on this girl and it's not going well.
- 9:40SPEAKER_10: That kind of stuff is is pretty cool.
- 9:43SPEAKER_10: I love the guys that show up and like you know, I I love the supportive boyfriend role, it's great at concerts because like you can tell the guy's like doesn't really care about the music, but his girl likes it.
- 9:53SPEAKER_10: But there's also the other side of that where the guys like just like and if you like and if the girlfriend the girlfriend's having a great time, you know, it's like yeah, and then the guys are just like it's like come on, dude.
- 10:03SPEAKER_10: Like, support your girl.
- 10:05SPEAKER_07: There were two guys next to us last night who were like happy, flopping up and down.
- 10:10SPEAKER_07: It was just these two guy friends, and I'm like they wanted to start jumping.
- 10:14SPEAKER_07: They were like, they were so interested.
- 10:15SPEAKER_07: You could feel it in there, like they just wanted it.
- 10:18SPEAKER_07: Oh, it was so good.
- 10:19SPEAKER_10: I love it.
- 10:20SPEAKER_10: Nothing like going to a concert with the with the boys.
- 10:22SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it was so cute.
- 10:25SPEAKER_08: Yeah, we had like a wide range of fans.
- 10:27SPEAKER_08: I was like young girls, that was older girls that were it is cool.
- 10:31SPEAKER_10: I I think that's cool.
- 10:32SPEAKER_10: Like a lot of the shows, and I kind of like pride myself on that on having like a multi-generational fan base because it's fun, because it's like it's a fun show for anybody to come to.
- 10:43SPEAKER_10: Like, I I find like there's three generations that come.
- 10:46SPEAKER_10: You know, there's the older ladies who want to see the Elvis.
- 10:49SPEAKER_08: They love you, they want to see the Elvis moves.
- 10:52SPEAKER_08: Let's pause, let's pause on that because we we've we've done um we put out a little bit of content with you, Drake, in the last few months, and we had a lot of the older ladies, and they are obsessed with you.
- 11:09SPEAKER_08: They love you.
- 11:10SPEAKER_08: That's good.
- 11:11SPEAKER_10: That's good.
- 11:12SPEAKER_10: I mean, it you know, hey, they got money to buy merch, they support the cause.
- 11:16SPEAKER_10: They keep us on the road, they keep the lights on.
- 11:18SPEAKER_02: They're unhuman.
- 11:19SPEAKER_10: They keep they keep they keep diesel in the bus, I can tell you that.
- 11:25SPEAKER_07: Do you think it is like the Elvis kind of esque like performance that like brings them to your shows?
- 11:31SPEAKER_10: Yeah, there's a lot of that, which is you know, not a terrible thing.
- 11:33SPEAKER_10: You know, there's Elvis fans all over the world.
- 11:36SPEAKER_10: And I've been able to kind of like I feel like bring that to my because it is part of my influence, of course.
- 11:43SPEAKER_10: Like I studied Elvis for years and years and years, and so it's part of just like anybody, you know, would you know back in the day it's like Merle Haggard wants to sing like Lefty Frizel, and Alan Jackson wanted to be just like Hank Williams Sr.
- 11:59SPEAKER_10: You know, it's like like like anybody would do, it's like Elvis is one of my heroes.
- 12:03SPEAKER_10: So uh it's just part of my influence, but it's great, you know, people and it's been a common ground for people all over the world.
- 12:10SPEAKER_10: Everybody loves Elvis, you know, so it's it's a it's a common ground I found all the world, and I think it's helped.
- 12:16SPEAKER_10: And it and it, you know, it lets people it lets me kind of pay tribute in my own way without without putting on a jumpsuit, you know, which is good.
- 12:25SPEAKER_07: Have you ever dressed up as Elvis?
- 12:27SPEAKER_10: Yeah, that was my gig when I was a kid.
- 12:28SPEAKER_10: I was little Elvis.
- 12:30SPEAKER_07: I love it.
- 12:30SPEAKER_10: Yeah, there's plenty of stuff.
- 12:31SPEAKER_10: I was like that.
- 12:33SPEAKER_10: You know, intro into getting into playing music was yeah.
- 12:38SPEAKER_10: My mom started making she made my first little like gold jacket.
- 12:42SPEAKER_10: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:43SPEAKER_10: She would make blue suede.
- 12:44SPEAKER_10: She'd buy like white suede shoes that you can only find on my side, and then she'd dye them blue, so I had blue suede shoes.
- 12:50SPEAKER_10: It's good.
- 12:51SPEAKER_10: And then yeah, I wore the jumpsuits for a while and then did the whole thing.
- 12:55SPEAKER_10: Okay, so that's where it's full-on little Elvis.
- 12:58SPEAKER_08: Performing has definitely been from a young age then.
- 13:00SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah.
- 13:01SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 13:02SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 13:02SPEAKER_10: But it's great.
- 13:02SPEAKER_10: I can do I can kind of do it in my own way and take some of that and and you know, obviously, it's my songs that I've written up there and they're influenced by Elvis, so yeah.
- 13:12SPEAKER_07: Did you always like performing when you were younger?
- 13:14SPEAKER_07: Like, was it always something that you like gravitated towards, or was it something you felt like you had to work towards to like build that stage presence and that like confidence on stage?
- 13:24SPEAKER_10: I think I've always I've always liked it and I've always kind of uh I've always been kind of um unafraid on stage.
- 13:36SPEAKER_10: I've never had really bad stage fright.
- 13:39SPEAKER_10: I've always kind of and I don't know if it's I guess it's just part of who I am.
- 13:44SPEAKER_10: I I since I was a kid, I've always just been like okay, it's great.
- 13:48SPEAKER_10: Everybody's having fun.
- 13:48SPEAKER_10: I'm moving up here.
- 13:49SPEAKER_10: This is great.
- 13:50SPEAKER_10: And I've liked making you know people happy, you know, through that.
- 13:54SPEAKER_10: Um you can watch videos when I was a kid, I'm just kind of like, hey everybody, like you know, doing my little moves.
- 14:02SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 14:02SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 14:02SPEAKER_10: So I've always I've I've always really enjoyed being on stage.
- 14:07SPEAKER_10: Very comfortable on stage for sure.
- 14:09SPEAKER_10: Um it's I'm surprised, I'm kind of afraid of sometimes how much I don't get stage fry.
- 14:16SPEAKER_10: I'll get it, I'll get it if if uh if I'm going up with somebody, like going up to do a song with Laney Wilson, you know.
- 14:22SPEAKER_07: You would get nervous.
- 14:23SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah, because it's like it's her show, and I'm you know, it's like and it's her song, and I'm like, I don't want to like screw this whole thing up, you know.
- 14:30SPEAKER_10: But it's like it's my show, it's like I got my van up there, and you know, if I mess up, it's no big deal.
- 14:35SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:36SPEAKER_08: Cowboy Crush of the Week.
- 14:38SPEAKER_08: My cowboy crush this week is Bailey Zimmerman.
- 14:42SPEAKER_10: Bailey?
- 14:42SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that's actually sliding to his DMs.
- 14:47SPEAKER_09: What did he respond?
- 14:50SPEAKER_09: Nope.
- 14:52SPEAKER_07: Someone told us they were like, Bailey reads all of his DMs, blah blah.
- 14:56SPEAKER_07: And so then the next day I go on to Ladies of Country and Grace DM'd Bailey Zimmerman, and I'm like, It was such a shit line as well.
- 15:04SPEAKER_07: It was so bad.
- 15:05SPEAKER_07: It was bad.
- 15:08SPEAKER_08: It's been a while.
- 15:12SPEAKER_08: Anyway, he didn't reply, but I love his energy, and I feel like we we would have lots of fun together.
- 15:19SPEAKER_08: I think it would be too much.
- 15:21SPEAKER_10: No, I that might be too much.
- 15:24SPEAKER_08: You reckon?
- 15:25SPEAKER_08: Do you think opposites attract?
- 15:28SPEAKER_10: Maybe I don't know.
- 15:31SPEAKER_10: I think it would just be too much for everybody else.
- 15:33SPEAKER_08: I agree.
- 15:36SPEAKER_08: Holly's gonna have to be too much.
- 15:37SPEAKER_10: You guys can definitely keep each other company for sure.
- 15:39SPEAKER_08: 100%.
- 15:40SPEAKER_07: Oh my goodness.
- 15:41SPEAKER_10: That's hilarious.
- 15:43SPEAKER_07: Okay, Holly, you're telling me my cowboy crush is so random, but I yesterday.
- 15:50SPEAKER_07: Waka flocca.
- 15:51SPEAKER_10: Waka flocca.
- 15:52SPEAKER_10: Yeah, who I, by the way, I met while I sang at CMA Fest, yeah, because he was like around CMA Fest, like everywhere.
- 16:01SPEAKER_10: Yeah, he was we we sang, he was like at the Randy Travis event I did as a part of and we were up there singing uh uh I think probably forever and ever, amen.
- 16:12SPEAKER_10: So he's like and they brought everybody up and I was like standing next to Walker Flocker.
- 16:17SPEAKER_07: I feel like he's the same in that like he has a very different stage presence and like aura about him, and then you meet him and he's like the chillest meditation like person, and it's like whoa, like you're so I like when people have their different characters like on stage versus like who they are.
- 16:37SPEAKER_08: He he like midway through the interview just came off and just hugged us like okay, what he's a big dude in the interview.
- 16:48SPEAKER_08: I was like trying to crop his head and then be at the same height as us, it wasn't working.
- 16:53SPEAKER_08: Yeah, okay.
- 16:54SPEAKER_07: Who's your the cowgirl crush?
- 16:56SPEAKER_07: Um you can have a cowboy crush as well if you want to.
- 16:59SPEAKER_10: I wanna go.
- 17:00SPEAKER_10: I mean, this is not off the wall, but Reba.
- 17:05SPEAKER_08: Reba! Reba.
- 17:07SPEAKER_08: Okay, what about Reba?
- 17:09SPEAKER_10: Reba.
- 17:11SPEAKER_10: I mean, it's like she's just she's like awesome.
- 17:14SPEAKER_10: But Reba's Reba's always been my crush.
- 17:16SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 17:16SPEAKER_10: She's awesome.
- 17:17SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 17:18SPEAKER_10: She's awesome.
- 17:18SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 17:19SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
- 17:19SPEAKER_10: I don't I don't know that I don't know who I'm crushing on.
- 17:24SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 17:24SPEAKER_10: We'll see.
- 17:25SPEAKER_10: I there's there's there's plenty.
- 17:27SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
- 17:29SPEAKER_08: Come on! I might need to change mine.
- 17:33SPEAKER_08: What?
- 17:35SPEAKER_08: Mine's Zach Top.
- 17:41SPEAKER_08: I love Zach Top.
- 17:42SPEAKER_10: Zach, yeah, I'm sure.
- 17:43SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 17:43SPEAKER_10: He's great.
- 17:44SPEAKER_08: You know him?
- 17:45SPEAKER_10: I know Zach, yeah.
- 17:46SPEAKER_08: Yeah, like quite well.
- 17:48SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 17:49SPEAKER_08: I heard um, I heard he plays pool at that bar we went to that time in Nashville.
- 17:52SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 17:53SPEAKER_08: You played with pool with him?
- 17:55SPEAKER_10: I haven't played pool with him.
- 17:56SPEAKER_10: I played golf with him.
- 17:57SPEAKER_10: Oh, really?
- 17:57SPEAKER_10: Terrible golfer.
- 17:58SPEAKER_10: Oh, he really bad?
- 17:59SPEAKER_10: Yeah, terrible.
- 18:00SPEAKER_07: I heard he was better than you.
- 18:01SPEAKER_10: No, terrible.
- 18:03SPEAKER_08: What's your handicap?
- 18:05SPEAKER_10: Uh whatever, whatever Zach's is, just take a few off that.
- 18:11SPEAKER_08: Did you do vocal warm-ups?
- 18:13SPEAKER_10: Not as much as I should.
- 18:14SPEAKER_10: I I I like uh I just do a lot of those, like, you know.
- 18:19SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 18:20SPEAKER_08: So you do the so Sharpe is like one of the main characters in high school musical.
- 18:24SPEAKER_08: And she does like a really famous, like quoted.
- 18:28SPEAKER_07: Is that really warming up your vocals though?
- 18:30SPEAKER_07: Just doing the thing with your lips?
- 18:31SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it's uh lip trills, I think they call it.
- 18:33SPEAKER_07: Oh.
- 18:33SPEAKER_07: But it helps your vocals.
- 18:35SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it helps you like push air through your diaphragm.
- 18:38SPEAKER_10: I think.
- 18:39SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
- 18:40SPEAKER_10: Also, too, the vocal fry thing, like where you go, oh and like work through kind of like get your vocal cords kind of for all the singing that you do, but I don't warm up enough.
- 18:57SPEAKER_10: It's good for you as a singer to warm up, but I should warm up more.
- 19:01SPEAKER_08: You can hold a note, I can hold a note like really, you can like really well.
- 19:06SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 19:07SPEAKER_08: It was it was very impressive.
- 19:08SPEAKER_08: Thank you.
- 19:08SPEAKER_08: Because that was the first time we've seen you perform last night.
- 19:11SPEAKER_10: Was it?
- 19:12SPEAKER_08: Yeah, actually, yeah, it's not warming up with the Opry.
- 19:17SPEAKER_08: But that was a different show.
- 19:19SPEAKER_08: That was a different show.
- 19:20SPEAKER_10: I have to hold it back for the Opry.
- 19:22SPEAKER_10: Do you know?
- 19:23SPEAKER_10: Okay, you gotta have I can feel like if I'm like up there just like That was a very different show.
- 19:28SPEAKER_10: You know, doing this stuff on the Opry stage, just a little offensive.
- 19:30SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
- 19:31SPEAKER_10: It's just sacred ground, yeah.
- 19:34SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it is sacred ground.
- 19:35SPEAKER_07: The fans would love it.
- 19:36SPEAKER_07: Like, let's talk about it.
- 19:37SPEAKER_10: So we've heard you've got a single out.
- 19:39SPEAKER_07: Old flame, it's old flame old whiskey.
- 19:42SPEAKER_10: Old flames, old whiskey.
- 19:43SPEAKER_07: Old flames, old whiskey.
- 19:44SPEAKER_10: Yep.
- 19:45SPEAKER_07: Talk us through it.
- 19:46SPEAKER_07: Are you gonna do a collab with Walker Flocker Flame?
- 19:48SPEAKER_10: Maybe that'd be actually kind of cool.
- 19:50SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 19:50SPEAKER_10: So cool.
- 19:51SPEAKER_10: Walker.
- 19:52SPEAKER_10: Um I think uh God, I'm like it's so lost now.
- 19:58SPEAKER_10: You know, we all flustered.
- 19:59SPEAKER_10: Y'all got me all drunk and flustered for this side.
- 20:02SPEAKER_07: You can walk out on us if you want.
- 20:06SPEAKER_07: Did you have inspiration behind this song?
- 20:09SPEAKER_07: What was where did you write it for sadness?
- 20:11SPEAKER_10: Uh I didn't write it.
- 20:12SPEAKER_10: Actually, I I um this was a song that Jim Beavers, uh, who I write with a ton.
- 20:18SPEAKER_10: Um, him and his brother Brett Beavers, um, who I've also written with a lot.
- 20:22SPEAKER_10: Me and Brett wrote Sounds Like Something I Do, and Over Drinking, Underthinkin'.
- 20:26SPEAKER_10: Um Jim's written some great songs.
- 20:29SPEAKER_10: Parachute, Chris Dappleton, he wrote Chris.
- 20:31SPEAKER_10: Wow.
- 20:32SPEAKER_10: Um uh scroll, why don't we just dance?
- 20:35SPEAKER_10: Josh Turner.
- 20:36SPEAKER_10: Love that song.
- 20:38SPEAKER_10: Um and and Brett did a lot of the early like Dirk Spinley stuff.
- 20:41SPEAKER_10: Uh what was I thinking, namely?
- 20:43SPEAKER_10: I mean, awesome.
- 20:44SPEAKER_10: Produced those records and wrote a lot of it with Dirks.
- 20:47SPEAKER_10: Uh but Jim sent me this song probably before even like Dallas Fort Worth.
- 20:53SPEAKER_10: Um and it was one of those that just hung out on my phone forever.
- 20:58SPEAKER_10: I I liked it when I heard it.
- 21:00SPEAKER_10: Um it was just like a work tape of him and Brett singing acoustically, you know, and it's fun, it's it's it's like it kind of feels like classic kind of honk and tonk country to me.
- 21:10SPEAKER_10: And it was one of those that just kept coming up in my note.
- 21:15SPEAKER_10: Like I kept going back to it, kept going back to it.
- 21:17SPEAKER_10: And when I came time, you know, I always keep I've had so many songs just kind of like cataloged within my phone that I go back to every time we're working on a project and try to just like comb through everything, you know, and see what sticks out.
- 21:31SPEAKER_10: And there was a few of these on this album that that that I did like dig and find, like Good Is Gone, and um some and and this one was just like I was just talking, I was like, I know I would love to record this song.
- 21:43SPEAKER_10: It sounds like I knew exactly where I wanted to go with it.
- 21:46SPEAKER_10: I could hear it.
- 21:47SPEAKER_10: It seemed like something I wish I would have written, you know.
- 21:50SPEAKER_10: I was like, I I I forget that it's a song that I didn't write.
- 21:53SPEAKER_10: Um and it just feels natural, like any kind of honky tonk in Texas or something, it like it just feels like a good.
- 22:00SPEAKER_10: Time.
- 22:00SPEAKER_10: And it's fun.
- 22:01SPEAKER_10: It's like it's got it's kind of fun lyrics too.
- 22:04SPEAKER_10: You know?
- 22:04SPEAKER_10: Last night I introduced your memory to a bottle of Gentleman Jack.
- 22:07SPEAKER_10: I thought they might be friendly.
- 22:08SPEAKER_10: I was wrong about that.
- 22:11SPEAKER_10: It's just got a fun, like kind of cheekyness to it that I love.
- 22:14SPEAKER_07: Did you run it through Zach Top first?
- 22:16SPEAKER_07: When you first got it?
- 22:17SPEAKER_10: Did I did I send it to Zach Top?
- 22:18SPEAKER_07: Yeah, send it.
- 22:19SPEAKER_07: Like, do you send each other things to kind of not really?
- 22:22SPEAKER_10: I don't think he'd appreciate that.
- 22:24SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
- 22:24SPEAKER_10: He's doing his own thing.
- 22:25SPEAKER_10: I'm doing mine, you know.
- 22:27SPEAKER_08: You've got a really similar sound.
- 22:30SPEAKER_10: Uh yeah.
- 22:31SPEAKER_10: I I I don't think so, but uh, you know.
- 22:34SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 22:35SPEAKER_10: Do you get that?
- 22:38SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 22:40SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 22:40SPEAKER_10: I I like Zack Top.
- 22:42SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 22:42SPEAKER_08: I mean, it's we we're huge Zack Top fans.
- 22:45SPEAKER_10: I mean, his mustache is probably fake.
- 22:46SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
- 22:47SPEAKER_10: It's fake?
- 22:48SPEAKER_10: People are saying this.
- 22:48SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
- 22:49SPEAKER_08: What?

- 23:02SPEAKER_10: I I I never have.
- 23:03SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
- 23:04SPEAKER_10: I don't know what he's got going on.
- 23:05SPEAKER_10: I don't know what he's got going on.
- 23:06SPEAKER_07: He wasn't wearing a hat for the softball game.
- 23:08SPEAKER_08: He was wearing softball pants, that's what I remember.
- 23:11SPEAKER_10: Oh wow.
- 23:14SPEAKER_10: I mean, I I don't know.
- 23:15SPEAKER_10: I thought we were here to talk about, you know, my music.
