- 0:00SPEAKER_03: This is the Spiritual Realist, and I'm Scarlett Drown.
- 0:04SPEAKER_03: This is a space for honest conversation about spirituality, individuality, and growth.
- 0:10SPEAKER_03: Welcome to opening your mind without pressure, performance, or pretending.
- 0:17SPEAKER_03: Heavenly minded, but earthly good.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: From church fast to creep.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: Mama had a Bible open.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Grandma had a jar of root.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Cross hanging over the door.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: But the dirt still know the truth.
- 0:48SPEAKER_03: Let's begin.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: Scarlet draw speak.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Let the spirit speak.
- 0:56SPEAKER_03: We're gonna do our single, clean any negative energy and any interruption while we spend this time together.
- 1:11SPEAKER_03: So we are going to talk about peppermint and eucalypsis.
- 1:16SPEAKER_03: And we have some here in our handy dandy alabaster box.
- 1:21SPEAKER_03: And I have the actual leaves here.
- 1:24SPEAKER_03: It is leaves of peppermint and leaves of eucalypsis together.
- 1:30SPEAKER_03: You can actually bung this on a charcoal disc as well as boil it in a team.
- 1:37SPEAKER_03: You can use this as a smudge to clear out confusion, open up the breath.
- 1:43SPEAKER_03: It's good for strengthening discernment.
- 1:46SPEAKER_03: And of course, it's good for creating a sense of rest.
- 1:49SPEAKER_03: You can also boil this on your stove and let the aroma consume the house.
- 1:55SPEAKER_03: It's really good for breath work.
- 1:57SPEAKER_03: That's one thing that you can definitely do.
- 1:59SPEAKER_03: And we have some in our diffuser.
- 2:02SPEAKER_03: We're going to talk about words as spells.
- 2:08SPEAKER_03: Because I got a spell on you.
- 2:12SPEAKER_03: I hope it's what you thought it was.
- 2:15SPEAKER_03: Now, let's talk about how we have conversations and we use our words on a daily basis.
- 2:23SPEAKER_03: And one of the things I like to live by is the four agreements.
- 2:27SPEAKER_03: And if you haven't read it, I suggest going and get the book.
- 2:30SPEAKER_03: It's a great read.
- 2:32SPEAKER_03: But one of the things it talks about is using your words impeccably.
- 2:37SPEAKER_03: Now I know.
- 2:39SPEAKER_03: I'll be the first to tell you.
- 2:41SPEAKER_03: Baby, I'll say some words off the dome because I am upset, I am angry, my feelings are hurt, or my ego is bruised.
- 2:54SPEAKER_03: And so I had to learn the discipline of not saying everything that came to my head out of anger and emotion.
- 3:04SPEAKER_03: Because words are spells.
- 3:07SPEAKER_03: Before you burn a candle, before you get herbs, before you attempt to make anything tangible into a spell, the breath of life on your tone is one of the most powerful things you could ever use.
- 3:28SPEAKER_03: Because it is the first action that you place onto that intention.
- 3:37SPEAKER_03: Let me say that again.
- 3:39SPEAKER_03: It is the first action that you place into an intention for it to happen.
- 3:48SPEAKER_03: I'll give you a prime example.
- 4:00SPEAKER_03: It was a good job, it did me well, but I wanted to do something different.
- 4:05SPEAKER_03: I wanted to go into the corporate industry.
- 4:08SPEAKER_03: So I had started saying, let's say it is October.
- 4:15SPEAKER_03: I had started saying that in February, after tax season and stuff, I was going to go ahead and start looking for a corporate job.
- 4:25SPEAKER_03: I didn't tell anybody this.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: I just decided this is what I was going to do.
- 4:30SPEAKER_03: And I was having this conversation with my now wife, and I decided to actually say those words aloud to her.
- 4:40SPEAKER_03: I was like, you know what?
- 4:41SPEAKER_03: I'm going to start going for a corporate job here in February.
- 4:46SPEAKER_03: That was in November.
- 4:48SPEAKER_03: December the 6th, no lie, they called me into the office.
- 4:54SPEAKER_03: They were letting me go.
- 4:56SPEAKER_03: It was the first time I had ever gotten fired from a job.
- 5:01SPEAKER_03: And I never, ever, ever quit a job without having another job available because your girl and her money, we love each other.
- 5:10SPEAKER_03: We monogamous.
- 5:11SPEAKER_03: We have a love-love relationship.
- 5:12SPEAKER_03: She loves me and I love her.
- 5:14SPEAKER_03: So I don't cheat on her and she don't cheat on me.
- 5:17SPEAKER_03: And guess what?
- 5:19SPEAKER_03: I was let go of my good job that I liked because I had prematurely spoken into my own life that I wanted to move away from that job.
- 5:34SPEAKER_03: That's how powerful words are.
- 5:37SPEAKER_03: That's how powerful words are.
- 5:40SPEAKER_03: Those are spells.
- 5:41SPEAKER_03: For instance, you ever had an idea and your bestest friend, your homegirl, your ride or die, your bro, your homie, they was like, that's good, but I don't think you should do that.
- 5:55SPEAKER_03: And then all of a sudden, doubt self seen.
- 5:59SPEAKER_03: All of a sudden, things stop working.
- 6:02SPEAKER_03: All of a sudden, you don't have the wherewithal to do it or the gunction to keep going forward because a seed was planted by someone who was close to you.
- 6:12SPEAKER_03: They didn't mean negativity by per se.
- 6:16SPEAKER_03: Maybe they just didn't have the faith that you was doing it.
- 6:19SPEAKER_03: Or maybe it was so out of the box for you that they didn't understand that that was what you were supposed to do.
- 6:25SPEAKER_03: But their one word could have caused you a stop in a plan.
- 6:31SPEAKER_03: Maybe it's something as simple as, you always late, because you're gonna always be late.
- 6:36SPEAKER_03: You're gonna be late to your own funeral.
- 6:40SPEAKER_03: Again, those words hold power.
- 6:44SPEAKER_03: And no matter how hard you try, no matter how hard you put your best foot forward, no matter how many alarms you set, you always late.
- 6:53SPEAKER_03: Because that seed is planted in your head that that is who you are.
- 7:00SPEAKER_03: This is what I mean by being impeccable with your words.
- 7:05SPEAKER_03: Maybe it's you've been told you're not that smart.
- 7:08SPEAKER_03: You ain't gonna get it.
- 7:10SPEAKER_03: So-and-so is a book smart person.
- 7:12SPEAKER_03: That's what they are.
- 7:13SPEAKER_03: They can pick up a book and do it.
- 7:14SPEAKER_03: And you, you can't do that.
- 7:16SPEAKER_03: That ain't what you do.
- 7:16SPEAKER_03: Go to school and get something basic.
- 7:19SPEAKER_03: Go get a degree in PE.
- 7:22SPEAKER_03: When you had the work with all to be a whole physical therapist.
- 7:26SPEAKER_03: But a seed has been planted.
- 7:29SPEAKER_03: Maybe it was planted by your mom or your dad or your grandma or your cousin or your friends.
- 7:33SPEAKER_03: Maybe it was planted by you.
- 7:35SPEAKER_03: Maybe you always like, listen, I ain't gonna never lose the weight.
- 7:40SPEAKER_03: That's just who I am.
- 7:41SPEAKER_03: This is how I identity.
- 7:44SPEAKER_03: This is how I identify.
- 7:47SPEAKER_03: You are planting your own seed in that exact moment for that exact thing.
- 7:53SPEAKER_03: Maybe it's something you're watching on television.
- 7:56SPEAKER_03: Maybe it's the reality shows that are scripted.
- 8:03SPEAKER_03: But they are planting seeds of what you think life should look like and how you think life should be.
- 8:10SPEAKER_03: Because all of these words that we hear become spells to our subconscious.
- 8:18SPEAKER_03: The power that you have, you were born with is called a tongue.
- 8:22SPEAKER_03: You speak life, you speak death, you speak cursing, you speak blessings.
- 8:28SPEAKER_03: You ever say, Oh, I hope so-and-so get in a car accident, and then all of a sudden you hear they got in a car accident?
- 8:35SPEAKER_03: What about those people that say, Oh, I wish they was dead?
- 8:38SPEAKER_03: And then all of a sudden, these people die.
- 8:42SPEAKER_03: If you don't think you have the power in your tongue, that's on you.
- 8:45SPEAKER_03: That's why I take my time to speak light.
- 8:48SPEAKER_03: Life abundantly.
- 8:51SPEAKER_03: That's why I show light and love.
- 8:53SPEAKER_03: That's why you see me as much as possible live, try to show.
- 8:59SPEAKER_03: That's why you see me as much as possible, try to show light.
- 9:05SPEAKER_03: Because darkness exists.
- 9:08SPEAKER_03: But for me, I choose to use my words impeccably.
- 9:14SPEAKER_03: How do you choose to use yours?
- 9:17SPEAKER_03: Are you going to tell your kid, sit down and shut up?
- 9:22SPEAKER_03: You don't know what you're talking about?
- 9:24SPEAKER_03: Are you going to perpetuate that in them so that when they get in situations, all they know how to do is to sit down and shut up and take what comes to them?
- 9:35SPEAKER_03: Let's say you're in a relationship and this spouse is continuously putting you down every day while you're running circles around them.
- 9:45SPEAKER_03: That's a spell.
- 9:47SPEAKER_03: Some of y'all call it digmatized, and then some of y'all have pussymatized.
- 9:53SPEAKER_03: I'll leave that there.
- 9:55SPEAKER_03: But we don't need another spell.
- 9:57SPEAKER_03: We don't need another system because we're already in a system with telling us a vision called the television.
- 10:04SPEAKER_03: Now we're streaming it, but it's still telling us a vision, selling us something that we don't need, telling us lies.
- 10:13SPEAKER_03: We already have a system that has perpetuated a better life by giving us crumbs and shit to eat from.
- 10:20SPEAKER_03: We don't need anything else outside of ourselves to show us a vision that's a lie.
- 10:29SPEAKER_03: Let's go back to television.
- 10:31SPEAKER_03: They use television to broadcast words, a series of words, as a matter of fact, through channeling, so that they can use those channels to then program us so they can easily govern our mental process.
- 10:53SPEAKER_03: Then from that point, we then sit back because we are already programmed.
- 11:00SPEAKER_03: We are programmed to not care or not pay attention to them trying to take our history away.
- 11:08SPEAKER_03: We're programmed to just say, hey, we have no control.
- 11:11SPEAKER_03: So let them change our voting rights.
- 11:14SPEAKER_03: We are mentally programmed to say they are gonna do what they're gonna do anyway.
- 11:19SPEAKER_03: So why does our vote even count?
- 11:22SPEAKER_03: This is what they're doing simply through television and broadcasting words, the news anchors, how we get our information through the masses.
- 11:35SPEAKER_03: Do you not notice that most every channel plays the same report over and over again?
- 11:41SPEAKER_03: It's because they are trying to embed into you these words so that you can take what they say as truth.
- 11:50SPEAKER_03: We no longer go and look up the case.
- 11:52SPEAKER_03: We no longer read the newspaper for ourselves.
- 11:54SPEAKER_03: We just take what the internet says or what the newscaster says.
- 11:58SPEAKER_03: We listen.
- 11:59SPEAKER_03: Nowadays, people getting that information from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and any other platform that they choose to listen to.
- 12:09SPEAKER_03: Do you know how much misinformation is out there in the world today?
- 12:14SPEAKER_03: Because we are programmed.
- 12:15SPEAKER_03: It started as simple as television.
- 12:18SPEAKER_03: Remember when television used to play until it didn't have nothing else to play and the lines would come up?
- 12:23SPEAKER_03: Now you can watch television all day, 24 hours a day.
- 12:27SPEAKER_03: There's no stopping in the broadcast because they realize the power of words.
- 12:32SPEAKER_03: They realize the spells that they are putting on us.
- 12:35SPEAKER_03: They realize that we are taking it in droves.
- 12:38SPEAKER_03: We're binge watching shows now.
- 12:40SPEAKER_03: We don't even have commercials anymore.
- 12:43SPEAKER_03: People are having to use other means to get your attention.
- 12:47SPEAKER_03: Your phone is a consistent listening device.
- 12:50SPEAKER_03: You ever just had a conversation with your friend and you look at your phone, and the next thing you know, those are the ads showing up on your Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, whatever.
- 12:59SPEAKER_03: You ever was interested in a show and all of a sudden it showed up on your Netflix suggestions?
- 13:05SPEAKER_03: You ain't even going to punch it in.
- 13:07SPEAKER_03: Because these devices are listening to us every minute of every second of every day because our words are spells, and they know that if they can water that seed that you have said out of your mouth, the likelihood that you fall forward is greater.
- 13:23SPEAKER_03: And that ain't all.
- 13:24SPEAKER_03: That's just a little snippet of how words can be spelled.
- 13:29SPEAKER_03: We have other things like good morning.
- 13:32SPEAKER_03: We have things like when it rains, it pours.
- 13:36SPEAKER_03: If it ain't one thing, it's another.
- 13:38SPEAKER_03: Oh, that just running my family.
- 13:41SPEAKER_03: I can't catch a break.
- 13:43SPEAKER_03: I'm always broke.
- 13:45SPEAKER_03: You are creating that energy.
- 13:48SPEAKER_03: You are speaking life to that thing.
- 13:51SPEAKER_03: And you know what's another one that people say is I'm fed up to heal.
- 13:56SPEAKER_03: I'm fed up to heal.
- 13:58SPEAKER_03: Or I'm drowning.
- 14:00SPEAKER_03: I'm drowning.
- 14:01SPEAKER_03: I can't get my grip.
- 14:04SPEAKER_03: All of those are spells.
- 14:06SPEAKER_03: You're telling, you're giving that thing power.
- 14:09SPEAKER_03: Here's a way that you can take that power back.
- 14:13SPEAKER_03: Instead of saying, when it rains, it pours, say this rain is just to season these flowers.
- 14:21SPEAKER_03: And after a while, I'll be able to harvest this and make a beautiful bouquet.
- 14:27SPEAKER_03: Because I've learned my lesson from this rain.
- 14:30SPEAKER_03: Or instead of saying, money come, money goes so fast, I can't even keep up with it.
- 14:34SPEAKER_03: I can't even catch it.
- 14:36SPEAKER_03: My money running for me, say something like this.
- 14:40SPEAKER_03: Money comes to me easily.
- 14:41SPEAKER_03: Money comes to me fast.
- 14:43SPEAKER_03: Money comes to me swiftly.
- 14:45SPEAKER_03: My money always lasts.
- 14:47SPEAKER_03: Because even if you have a dollar more than you had on the last paycheck, your money stayed.
- 14:55SPEAKER_03: Speak life.
- 14:57SPEAKER_03: Instead of saying, I'm always late, that's just who I am.
- 15:01SPEAKER_03: Say, hey, I'ma set a goal to three out of four appointments this week.
- 15:06SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna try to be right on time.
- 15:09SPEAKER_03: Use your words impeccably for yourself.
- 15:13SPEAKER_03: Speak life over yourself.
- 15:16SPEAKER_03: Y'all know the song?
- 15:18SPEAKER_03: Speak over yourself.
- 15:20SPEAKER_03: I ain't saying it no more, that's it.
- 15:23SPEAKER_03: But encourage yourself.
- 15:25SPEAKER_03: Guess what?
- 15:26SPEAKER_03: I wanna know this week.
- 15:28SPEAKER_03: What are you gonna do to break the space?
- 15:31SPEAKER_03: What are you gonna do?
- 15:32SPEAKER_03: What words are you gonna change in your life to make a better you?
- 15:39SPEAKER_03: To be the most authentic version of yourself you can be, to walk into your era of authenticity, to become a realist.
- 15:49SPEAKER_03: What are you gonna say about you this week?
- 15:52SPEAKER_03: On that note, I'm Scarlet Drown, heavenly minded, but always earthly good.
- 16:00SPEAKER_03: And as always, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.
- 16:13SPEAKER_03: Ashe, Ashay, Ashay.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: From church fans to create.
- 16:19SPEAKER_03: If something about this episode stays with you, then you're exactly who this space is for.
- 16:26SPEAKER_03: Share with a friend you think should be here too.
- 16:30SPEAKER_03: You can watch on YouTube, listen on all the podcast platforms, and continue the conversation at The Spiritual Realist.
- 16:39SPEAKER_03: I'm Scarlett Drow, heavenly minded, but earthly good.
- 16:44SPEAKER_03: Until next time.
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: The Spiritual Realist is produced by Organized Movement.
- 16:58SPEAKER_02: From O to dead, just to touch the dirt, I like to do that.
