Latest / Brandon Fogal Evolution / #159 - What Does Joe Rogan Really Believe? I Shutter To Think
Transcript
- 0:00What does Joe Rogan really believe? I shudder to think.
- 0:04We're going to take a look at this. He just had a sit down with Roman Jompolsky
- 0:09on his podcast yesterday. It was released yesterday.
- 0:12They went into a lot of things. Roman believes that we are in a simulation and
- 0:16Joe always is like, I'm going to throw up my hands.
- 0:18Okay, we're in a simulation. That's what it is. That's the fallback.
- 0:22But what does Joe really believe?
- 0:25I want you to picture this. Joe Rogan is Leonardo DiCaprio on Shutter Island.
- 0:31And he's in this world that he's just, he doesn't know how he got here.
- 0:35He doesn't know what's going on.
- 0:37And he's like, it's that famous scene where he's like, what the F is going on
- 0:41here? That's how I see Joe right now.
- 0:44Is he coming around to becoming a Christian?
- 0:48You know, this, that's the direction I'm going with this because I,
- 0:52we've heard news of him going to church and kind of exploring that avenue of faith.
- 0:58Where is he at with all this? And this viewpoint of Shutter Island,
- 1:03this could give us a good glimpse into where Joe is at.
- 1:06If we take a step back as the audience and we're just looking at this,
- 1:11if the version that Joe has set up, he's the Leonardo DiCaprio,
- 1:15the patient on this island, would it be as exciting if that crazy story was happening?
- 1:22Or is it the second time that you watch Shutter Island and you see what was actually going on?
- 1:29Might not be as thrilling, but it's also fun to watch.
- 1:32All right, we're gonna take a look at a few clips from Joe's sit down with Roman,
- 1:36and let's just dive into it.
- 1:37All right, so Roman, he seems like a smart guy, but we're gonna take a.
- 1:42When the topic of Jesus is brought up, and it could be the real deal,
- 1:48And we're going to see what Roman has to say about that in this first clip.
- 1:52Yeah. With simulation, what's interesting, it's not just the last couple of
- 1:55years and we got computers.
- 1:56If you look at religions, world religions, and you strip away all the local
- 2:01culture, like take Saturday off, take Sunday off, donate this animal, donate that animal.
- 2:06What they all agree on is that there is super intelligence, which created a
- 2:10fake world. And this is a test.
- 2:12Do this or that. They describing, like if you went to Jungle and told Primitive
- 2:16Tribe about my paper and simulation theory, that's what they would know three generations later.
- 2:22Like God, religion, that's what they got out of it.
- 2:24But they don't think it's a fake world.
- 2:27Made world. A physical world is a...
- 2:30Joe immediately pushes back. They don't think it's a fake world.
- 2:33As a Christian, we don't think it's a fake world.
- 2:36But Roman has this idea that it's all a simulation, so it would be fake if this
- 2:41was what has been fed to us. This is what's been fed to us.
- 2:45Subset of a real world which is non-physical, right? That's the standard Christian.
- 2:49Right, so this physical world being created by God. Yeah. Right.
- 2:53But what existed before the physical world created by God?
- 2:57Ideas, just information. Just God. God was bored.
- 3:01Okay, so this is where it always goes. Joe's asked so many questions.
- 3:05I think he is being influenced kind of by Christian teaching or because he sees
- 3:10that that seems like the only true light.
- 3:14But he has this show where he talks about everything,
- 3:18and it's like if you just embrace, if he fully jumps in and embraces Christ,
- 3:24would his show become the second time of watching Shutter Island?
- 3:30Because you know the plot, you know the story. There's no more fun.
- 3:34What's going on? What's happening?
- 3:37This is kind of crazy. I think there's a lot of nutty things happening,
- 3:41but rather the punchline has been given.
- 3:45Leonardo DiCaprio is the crazy guy in the movie, and we see that everybody else,
- 3:49the real world happened around him is a little bit more boring,
- 3:53is a little bit not as, it's not as fun.
- 3:56It doesn't seem as exciting, and I think that that's
- 3:59what is maybe holding Joe back from
- 4:02fully jumping in because it's like which is
- 4:05a weird deal to think that Jesus and the
- 4:08Bible and if that crazy mythological world that is presented to us and just
- 4:13passed down to us if that is the real deal that becomes the boring plot line
- 4:18that becomes like because we are so just just saturated in it we all that's
- 4:24all we have been just fed our whole lives.
- 4:26We know this Judeo-Christian Western culture that we've grown up in,
- 4:30that our whole morality is based on, our government is founded on, and it's like.
- 4:38That that is the weird, boring thing.
- 4:42And we have to embrace all these other things, all these other possibilities
- 4:46that are out there. All these possibilities are out there.
- 4:49Would that like immediately pull the plug and just make it all like,
- 4:52what would Joe's show become?
- 4:54Would he become like just an evangelist for Christ?
- 4:57If he took on Jesus and he said, yeah, that's the deal.
- 5:02There's nothing else really, I think, that is out there that it's just Jesus
- 5:06and that's it. where would his audience go? Where would the reach go?
- 5:11Because I think what makes Joe so fun to watch is that he's open to everything.
- 5:17And I don't think as a Christian, you need to be closed-minded,
- 5:20but it's like, once you find the truth, the burning light, it's like,
- 5:24how do you go back to something that is just fluff and nonsense and all this?
- 5:30And that's the stark reality, the contrast that we're given.
- 5:34I don't want to be a person that is just like beating somebody over the head
- 5:38with the Bible or anything like that, but it's like two truths.
- 5:41It can't be true and false at the same time. It can't be, it's either true or it's not.
- 5:47And this Roman Paul, I always have to like redouble take his name.
- 5:52Jampalski is, he's, he's, he's fully bought in on this simulation theory,
- 5:56which I mean, simulation theory, Christian worldview, you?
- 6:00Like, is there much of a difference practically?
- 6:04Not really practically, but fundamentally at the core of what is really going
- 6:10on, there is a huge difference that there haven't been multiverses and billions
- 6:15and billions of multiverses out there.
- 6:16There is one reality that we all are just thrust into that is happening that we're experiencing.
- 6:22But this, this simulation theory is just like, it becomes just an escape hatch,
- 6:28an escape lever that you can just try to make sense of something that the Christian
- 6:33worldview is just presenting to everybody that we're all in it.
- 6:36But it's like, it, it doesn't scratch every itch that we might get.
- 6:42And then to take into account that we have all these things flying around us that are unseen.
- 6:47And then these things that are just compelling us to go in all these different directions.
- 6:52Inside of us, we have these things that we don't know what we want.
- 6:55We don't know why we're here. We don't know what's going on.
- 6:59We are just every day just going through it, going through the motions.
- 7:02And it's like the simulation theory almost gives us like a little, a breath of fresh air.
- 7:08Nobody really knows what's going on. And that, because it's like,
- 7:12when we buy into like, if the, like the Bible is either true or it's not.
- 7:17And I know it's like, it's a 66 different books of the 66 different books.
- 7:22And it's like, there's so much going on there, but Jesus believed in it.
- 7:26Jesus accepted the Bible, the old, what we call the old Testament,
- 7:30the Hebrew scriptures, you know, the, the new hadn't been written yet that happened after his life.
- 7:35But this is what I'm all, I'm just puzzled by with the shutter Island.
- 7:38Like he, cause is it going to become boring if just, if Joe just jumps in,
- 7:43just face forward, just dives in, you know, is that what, is that,
- 7:48is that something that like, could he have already.
- 7:52Grasped a hold of Jesus?
- 7:54He, he's a believer he's fully in, but outwardly he's still,
- 7:58what are all these possibilities?
- 8:00What are all these other things? What could, what could explain this?
- 8:03Because something is holding him back and it might not be where he's just,
- 8:07he fully doesn't really believe it yet, or something else is going on.
- 8:11But I want to continue because this is very interesting.
- 8:13It was like, let's give some, make some animals that can think and solve problems.
- 8:17And for what reason? I think to create God.
- 8:20This is what I worry about. I worry about that's really the nature of the universe itself,
- 8:26that is actually created by human beings, creating this infinitely intelligent
- 8:30thing that can essentially harness all of the available energy and power of
- 8:37the universe and create anything it wants, that it is God.
- 8:42That is like, you know, this whole idea of Jesus coming back.
- 8:45Well, maybe it's real.
- 8:47Maybe we just completely misinterpreted these ancient scrolls and texts.
- 8:52And what it really means is that we are going to give birth to this and a virgin
- 8:57birth at that. You can hear it in his voice.
- 9:00And what I think Joe really believes, I don't think he is fully there yet.
- 9:05I don't think he has fully and.
- 9:08Like, because unless he's like talking other ways off camera to his wife,
- 9:13to his family, you know, and when he's out there and because like,
- 9:16once you go Jesus, you don't go back.
- 9:19Once you see it, it is this matrix view of reality. It's like,
- 9:24it becomes a little bit like a little more bleak and you see kind of the truth, the real world.
- 9:30And there's not as much glitz and glamor and a possibilities out there for what
- 9:36we have been what God has given us.
- 9:38He's given us everything that we need to know at this time.
- 9:42There's so much like we are like a little seed. We're like a little seed that's
- 9:46going to die, be buried, and then going to something's going to come out of
- 9:49the ground. Something's going to come out of the ground.
- 9:52And then we are going to jump into this reality that we're all just kind of
- 9:55just just grasping at right now, trying to figure it out.
- 9:59And it's like, is Joe, is he holding back.
- 10:03I want to, I want him to like, just say that because he's, he's going to church now.
- 10:08He's, he's obviously interested in it.
- 10:13He's thinking something's going on that it seems like the most likely outcome,
- 10:17but do I have to like, just squelch all these other fun things that are out there?
- 10:21I don't think you got to, I don't think you have to, but it is the difference
- 10:25between the shutter island as in like, is it going to just eliminate the excitement.
- 10:31Eliminate the open-mindedness?
- 10:33When it's like, if Jesus said, I'm the way, the truth, and the life,
- 10:36no one comes to the Father but by me, is that either true or it's not?
- 10:41You know, is it like, and I would say you can't have it be true and false at
- 10:45the same time. It can't be your truth and then my truth is something different.
- 10:49No matter how much you want to kind of like flesh that out, it's never going
- 10:53to suffice and satisfy what we know the nature of reality is.
- 10:59But I want to move on to a other part of this video that was pretty interesting as well.
- 11:05Okay, this is where they talk about, Joe brings up the guy with the biggest IQ in the world.
- 11:11Believes in Jesus or says that Jesus is the truth. I want to jump over to this.
- 11:16Someone who can invent new physics. Right. Right. And you know,
- 11:20the person who has the largest IQ, the largest, at least registered IQ in the
- 11:26world is this gentleman who recently posted on Twitter about Jesus,
- 11:29that he believes Jesus is real.
- 11:31Do you know who this is? I saw that. Okay.
- 11:34Joe just floats that out there. He just puts that out there into Roman's kind of lap.
- 11:38What's Roman going to do with it? What's he going to do with it?
- 11:41Like I said, the simulation theory, that's a good thing to fall back on.
- 11:45I mean, we can all throw up our arms and say it's a simulation when we kind
- 11:48of want to just check out.
- 11:50We don't really want to be confronted with, because the thing about Christianity
- 11:56and any religion is it puts in your face that something, you got to make a decision.
- 12:03There are something, we're going to be held accountable kind of thing, you know?
- 12:07And it's like, we're all good with being, some people being held accountable
- 12:11when people do terrible things out there.
- 12:14And you're like, that can give you kind of a little piece that Hitler didn't
- 12:17just go to his deathbed and the loving arms of his mistress or whatever you
- 12:21always hear, or that he's going to face some consequence. And we're good with that.
- 12:26I think what always holds us back is we don't want to be confronted with that
- 12:32we ourselves have to make decisions.
- 12:34We have to actually change how we are living.
- 12:37We have to change what we're living for.
- 12:40And what's the point of all this? I think we all want to go our own way.
- 12:45We want to be masters of our own domain, masters of our own world.
- 12:48We want to be the gods in our own life.
- 12:51We want to be the center stage as opposed to if the whole deal about Christianity
- 12:55is true, Jesus is the center stage.
- 12:59He's the lead actor. He's the main point of the story. He's the protagonist, you know?
- 13:06Satan's the antagonist. We're just kind of along for the ride kind of thing,
- 13:09but we got to give space to him.
- 13:12And it's like, throw off everything and jump on board to Christ.
- 13:16And that's tough to do. That's extremely tough to do.
- 13:19It's not as appealing to anybody and to everybody, but it is funny.
- 13:23Like, so say Roman's theory of like, just he says it so confidently.
- 13:26And like I'm saying so confidently about Jesus is the truth.
- 13:30The simulation theory is he's saying all these things are just happening.
- 13:33We're all just living in this kind of, some people are NPCs.
- 13:37Some people are just have consciousness.
- 13:39Other people are just floating around and just not really there.
- 13:43And we're all just in a computer simulation, which I mean, it doesn't change.
- 13:47Like I said, practically, it doesn't change much for even, even from my view,
- 13:51because it says like we, when we believe in Christ, we are at that point,
- 13:56like our spirits are raised. We are seated.
- 13:58We are seated with him in the heavenly realms. Like our soul is like with Christ.
- 14:02That's like the mystery and the mystical nature of the gospel is that we actually
- 14:07get united to this figure, this man that lived 2000 years ago.
- 14:12We are like in Christ. He is in us. And it's kind of this mystical union that's
- 14:17happening, which I mean, like if he's outside of our space and time right now,
- 14:21and it says that we're raised with him, like we are united with him now.
- 14:25You could see that as like, like right now we're in the game.
- 14:28Were in the game experiencing just these levels that were just trying to get
- 14:33through, these checkpoints that were just blown past and just trying to figure things out.
- 14:38We run into some NPCs along the way, but it doesn't change much fundamentally
- 14:43from a Christian perspective, from that viewpoint.
- 14:46It fits the same and it feels the same, but I want to continue because he says
- 14:52the guy with the highest IQ in the world, Joe just throws that out there.
- 14:57He just brings that up, which is interesting in itself that he's going that
- 15:02way, almost like to kind of give a little credibility to believe in Jesus.
- 15:06Like if the smartest guy in the world is saying Jesus is the real deal,
- 15:10I mean, it's not just for the foolish people.
- 15:14The unmature people, immature, unmature people that are out there that believe
- 15:20in Jesus and the people that have a bigger brain like Einstein's and all those,
- 15:24they're the ones that are the smarter ones and they don't believe in that nonsense.
- 15:29Joe throws it out there that the smartest guy in the world believes in Jesus.
- 15:34The post. You see that post? I saw the post. What did you think about that?
- 15:36I felt like this was. I think we don't know how to measure IQs outside of standard range.
- 15:41Anything above 150, they create customized tests, which like four people in the world can take.
- 15:46We just don't have. It's a normalized test to average human,
- 15:49average Western American, whatever.
- 15:51And so we just don't have the expertise. So someone very super intelligent in
- 15:58test taking can score really well.
- 16:00But if you look at Mensa as a group, they don't usually have amazing accomplishments.
- 16:04They're very kind of cool people, but they are not Nobel Prize winners,
- 16:08majority of them. Exactly.
- 16:09I was going to bring that up. That's what's fascinating to me.
- 16:12There's a lot of people that are in Mensa.
- 16:14They want to tell you how smart they are by being in Mensa, but your life is kind of bullshit.
- 16:19Your life's a mess. Like, if you're really intelligent, you'd have social intelligence as well.
- 16:24And Joe, he's going to get into this, which was really interesting in this video
- 16:27about, Joe's got a good mind.
- 16:29He's actually very, very smart. He plays kind of not so smart,
- 16:34but he's able to articulate everything he thinks, like with.
- 16:37Perfect accuracy, but he plays like just the regular guy.
- 16:41And that's why he's so, he's so curious in everything he does that he's able
- 16:45to draw out of people, the biggest things, the biggest moments,
- 16:48the biggest highlights.
- 16:49And he goes into like, I see these, these people that I talk to and sometimes
- 16:53they seem like walls. I'm just talking to a wall.
- 16:55And I mean, if he talked to me, I would probably seem like a wall when somebody
- 16:59else is like, has that level of, in that degree of being intelligent.
- 17:04I mean, some people have it more than others, but it's not like,
- 17:07oh, you're cursed because you're not as smart as this guy.
- 17:10And the person that is extremely intelligent, where do you think you got that from?
- 17:17You didn't just like, I'm going to decide to be intelligent today.
- 17:20I'm going to be born and I'm going to make myself smart as hell.
- 17:26Rather, everything you have, everything that Joe Rogan has, everything that
- 17:29Roman has, you have, has been given to you, whether you're extremely smart or you're not.
- 17:35And really, it ultimately doesn't matter. Sometimes you can be too smart for
- 17:39your own darn good when it causes you to just not have this simple childlike belief to trust in God.
- 17:49God has made it crystal clear and perfect, given perfect evidence, sufficient evidence.
- 17:56You know, I mean, he could speak from the clouds today, you know,
- 17:59and say, my son's coming back.
- 18:01I'm sending him back right now. But he doesn't do that. At least he hasn't yet.
- 18:05And it's like, that's where the element of faith has to jump in, has to come in.
- 18:10Because if he did that, we wouldn't have this opportunity for faith.
- 18:15We wouldn't really have an opportunity to do things that are crazy good.
- 18:20I mean, when you are doing something good for Christ and good for God and like
- 18:24from a good heart, you're doing something that when you die,
- 18:28you're not going to be able to do. And you might say that's stupid because you're going to be dead.
- 18:31No, we are going to be raised. We are going to be put in God's immediate presence
- 18:35at one point. And it's like.
- 18:38Then it's not going to be like I'm going against every inclination in my heart,
- 18:44going against my flesh and trying to do good for God and good for the kingdom.
- 18:48Rather, you will have to be because you're going to be in his presence.
- 18:52It's going to be like we're going to be completely just absolute awe and shocked
- 18:57when we are face to face with him.
- 19:00Then it won't like sin will be completely gone.
- 19:03This whole, like, the possibility and the thought of doing something other than
- 19:07what God wants us to do, that won't be, it won't even be able to make the final
- 19:12cut of our consciousness.
- 19:14We will not be able to do that.
- 19:16But Joey, he goes into a lot of things in this video, and just him diving in
- 19:20about the simulation, because it makes a good point.
- 19:23Like, I think he wants to get out of this whole, like, everything's a possibility,
- 19:28or there's so, we can't know anything.
- 19:30What is truth? That was the scripture that Wes Huff gave to Joe Rogan.
- 19:37He gave him that on papyri and Wes wrote it out.
- 19:41And it's that famous line by Pilate who's standing before truth incarnate.
- 19:47And Pilate says, what is truth? 2,000 years ago, he says to him, what is truth?
- 19:52And Jesus doesn't answer him. He doesn't say a word.
- 19:55His presence, he's like standing before truth, right?
- 20:00It blows me away. And it's like that we can just be, and I know nobody,
- 20:05it doesn't make sense to everybody.
- 20:07It won't make sense to anybody until God turns on the lights in your mind.
- 20:12And if you, if your lights have been turned on, praise God, because you didn't
- 20:17just get there by your own intelligence.
- 20:21You got there because God did something crazy in your mind. He just switched your nature.
- 20:28You didn't even know what was going on. He just flipped it.
- 20:31He turned on the light bulb. And I, I'm just so curious on where Joe is at because
- 20:36has the light bulb been turned on and he's just still playing this part?
- 20:42Is he still playing the part because he's wanting to figure out what's going
- 20:46on? Or is he still just kind of just walking step by step?
- 20:50And it's like, say you're a huge Joe Rogan fan. He believes in Christ tomorrow.
- 20:55And he says, I'm fully in. He's
- 20:58the truth. He's, I mean, are you going to change your viewpoint on Joe?
- 21:02Are you going to not be as big of a fan? I think it comes to a point where it's
- 21:06like, we want to go our own way.
- 21:07And it's like, when are we going to be able to get to the point where we bow
- 21:10the knee? I think sometimes God doesn't let us get to that point.
- 21:13He just bows it for us.
- 21:16He breaks that just stubborn will that we have. And he says,
- 21:20I'm not going to let you go any further.
- 21:22Your mind changes your nature just like that. Lights on.
- 21:25Lights on, baby. All right. So there's so much here. There's so many things
- 21:29that, I mean, this was a very good podcast.
- 21:32They go into so much. They get into AI big, bigly, bigly.
- 21:38And what AI means for us and going forward and how much it's going to have an
- 21:42impact on our lives. And it is having an impact.
- 21:44Like, I think Roman thinks we're going to Terminator style. You know,
- 21:48that's where it's going to go to.
- 21:50Skynet is right around the corner. But what's the real world? What's the real world?
- 21:55Are you watching this? Are you still on that first day of watching Shutter Island
- 22:00where you're just still like watching Joe and watching this,
- 22:03everything that's going on you.
- 22:04And you still, there's an anticipation. What could be happening?
- 22:07What, what, what's really going on?
- 22:10Or are you on that second rewrite, rewrite of, you know, what's going on.
- 22:17You, you see the truth. It's a, it's a little bit darker. It's a little bit bleaker.
- 22:21You're in the center of the earth. You're kind of like the matrix style.
- 22:24You've been woken up to the real world.
- 22:25You know, what's going on. You see these, you've been unplugged.
- 22:28You see these machines that are out there.
- 22:31And I mean, it's all, it's all analogy, but it's, it's somewhat true in a sense.
- 22:37Where are you at? Are you on the first, the first version of watching it?
- 22:41Or are you on the second day?
- 22:42It's you, it makes sense better, but it might not be as, as exciting because
- 22:47you got, you got the punchline.
- 22:49God's given us the punchline. The whole Bible, it says we, we,
- 22:53we have from Genesis to revelation. Revelation is where we're going.
- 22:57We know how the story ends. Go to the last books of Revelation,
- 23:03the last chapters of Revelation. We see where the story ends.
- 23:06God's given it to us. He's given undeniable evidence beyond reasonable doubt or whatever that is.
- 23:13We were not going to be able to stand before him and say, God,
- 23:17you didn't answer that question.
- 23:18No, he answered them all. He answered them all. It's just like,
- 23:21what are we going to do with it?
- 23:23So Joe, where are you at, man? Where are you at? I shudder to think.
- 23:27All right, so if you've enjoyed this video, hit this one over here and I'll
- 23:30see you all on the other side.
