- 0:00Get laced up. Let's go. It's time for Banter
- 0:04with the Boys. Good thing I had forever to get
- 0:13ready for the show. That's right. Welcome back
- 0:16to Banter with the Boys. Gridiron updates. Week.
- 0:20Oh, wait. This is our week five recap episode.
- 0:23I am your host, Smeltsy. Next to me is Roberto,
- 0:27our other host. Skull to the bowl, baby. Oh,
- 0:30I forgot to do the lasso thing. To my Larry,
- 0:32we got Jake. Yeah. Yeah. Hello. That's it. That's
- 0:37right. That's never awkward, ever. And then on
- 0:40the other side of the table, for the first time
- 0:42on Banter with the Boys, we got Nathan. He's
- 0:46a Broncos fan, so that'll be interesting. We're
- 0:48curious to hear his thoughts and feelings on...
- 0:52Another AFC team to bounce off against the Ravens.
- 0:56Possible playoff matchup. Usually we do get only
- 1:00NFC team guests normally. I mean, where we live,
- 1:03but you know. We got a couple anomalies with
- 1:05us tonight, but that's all right. And then, obviously,
- 1:07behind the camera and everything, getting everything
- 1:09done for us, it's Cav Europe. All right. First
- 1:13game, we are recapping the Vikings traveling
- 1:17to the New Orleans. It's New Orleans. I'm already
- 1:21drawing too much tonight, huh? Already. Yep.
- 1:24You already know. Vikings getting the dub, 23
- 1:27-13, staying. Perfect. Saints, interestingly
- 1:31enough, every time I talk about them, I always
- 1:34talk about the Superdome and how awesome that
- 1:36place must be and how bad I want to go there.
- 1:38They're 0 -3 at home, which is wild. I've never
- 1:40been. Anyone been to the Superdome? Nope. Been
- 1:42to Louisiana, though. Okay. Right on, right on.
- 1:44Good vibe down there. A little Manning camp.
- 1:46Met Tyler Shuck there. Oh. Insider information.
- 1:50A little inside scoop on Shuck. Is he taller
- 1:52than you? He's almost as tall as me. Almost.
- 1:55And what is your... I'm 6 '7", and he's a solid
- 1:586 '6". Right on. Yeah, so there was the little
- 2:01after party, and there was probably, I don't
- 2:03know, 50 D1 quarterbacks there and about 200
- 2:07SEC girls there. Yeah. It was a good time. Right
- 2:11on, right on, right on. Well, thanks for being
- 2:14here tonight. Thank you. And again, looking forward
- 2:16to hearing your takes on, oh, wait, duh, we're
- 2:19talking about him right now. Yes. Shuck. So did
- 2:22you happen to catch any of this one? Yeah, I
- 2:24thought he, I mean, I thought he was going to
- 2:27play a lot better, but he. Flores had him. He's
- 2:31been playing very well all year long. I have
- 2:33him on my fantasy team. Thought that he was going
- 2:34to do a little bit better than that, but they
- 2:37definitely confused him. They just lack a running
- 2:41game as well. The Vikings... Really stuffed him.
- 2:44Yeah, yeah. I mean, the second -year shock kind
- 2:47of really showed this year, this game, too, with
- 2:50the amount of pressure that Flores brought. You
- 2:53just saw him. He was very confused where he wanted
- 2:55to go with the ball. Other than Alave being their
- 2:58top receiver, they didn't really have much to
- 3:00really, you know, and you said the lack of the
- 3:02running game. I mean, they were set up to fail
- 3:05almost in the game. Pretty sure we talked about
- 3:07it. They didn't linger, you know, with some Vikings
- 3:09turnovers that kept them in the game. But, I
- 3:12mean. elephant in the room kyler murray came
- 3:14out and like this is his best game of the year
- 3:17so far um got a lot of vikings fans off his back
- 3:20especially on the internet you know so now the
- 3:22next question is like how many years are we signing
- 3:24them Let's call him out on that. Come on, Smelty.
- 3:28How many? He's probably already locked up a three
- 3:34-year deal at least. One of them Sam Darnold
- 3:36three -year deals. I don't care. I don't know.
- 3:40Verdict's still out for me, but he did play a
- 3:42lot better this week. Very efficient with the
- 3:44ball. Didn't turn the ball over with any picks.
- 3:48But that throw to Jeddah's in the back corner,
- 3:50everybody keeps giving Jeddah's all the credit,
- 3:52which, don't get me wrong, great catch, too,
- 3:53right? But that throw was on the money. I mean,
- 3:56absolute laid it in there. Agree to disagree.
- 4:00Oh, okay. What we talked about beforehand, too,
- 4:03you've got to hit back pylon. So, I mean, he
- 4:05threw it in the exact right spot. You wasn't
- 4:09short on it? Slightly. It was close. Let me ask
- 4:15this question. If those two defenders don't touch,
- 4:18does one of them not get a hand on? I'd have
- 4:21to watch for playing it right in front of him.
- 4:22I was more impressed with JJ's concentration
- 4:25because I feel like he was anticipating a tip.
- 4:28And he still caught it. Sure. And he's one of
- 4:32the best in the league. Top five, if not top
- 4:34three. The catch earlier on the sideline was
- 4:37a lead. No, I agree. It was just nice to see
- 4:40Kyler Murray put one where it should have been,
- 4:43though. I guess it was a little low. You're trying
- 4:47to say it should be up here? Well, it's back
- 4:48pylon. A throw like that, your guy should be
- 4:52the only guy that should get a hand on it. And
- 4:55you're saying that if they didn't collide, somebody's
- 4:58getting a hand on it. I feel like 29's got a
- 5:01hand on it for all day long. Right on. So the
- 5:04fix is in. The fix is in, then. Just like the
- 5:08Minneapolis Marathon. It's all fixed. Good concentration.
- 5:11Throw it up. Make a play. The Saints probably
- 5:15hate the Vikings at this point so much. But still
- 5:19a hell of a concentration. And it was a good
- 5:21murder to get a touchdown pass in that aspect.
- 5:24But Aaron Jones. Yeah, 25, right? Oh, my gosh.
- 5:30Look at that guy. Over 100. When he tried the
- 5:33black men to get on thing, like surviving, going
- 5:35to the bye week. Well, that's a whole different
- 5:37conversation. But good dub for the Vikes overall.
- 5:40Sorry, I'm killing a lot of time here. No, you're
- 5:43not. No, we're good. We're good. No, keep going.
- 5:44I'm just excited about the 5 -0. You haven't
- 5:47said too much about this one. What do you got
- 5:48in this game? I would just continue to be impressed
- 5:50by the Vikings' defense and the way that Flores
- 5:52continues to scheme, confuse, getting the three
- 5:56turnovers, the two picks. and then the forced
- 5:59fumble. And also, Smelty, to your point, with
- 6:04Kyler continuing to develop and become a better
- 6:07passer, still taking a lot of those checkdowns,
- 6:09taking what he's given, and then trying to find
- 6:13those over -the -top plays when your wide receivers
- 6:16like Jetta is getting back behind the secondary
- 6:19and trying to hit those. So the only... The only
- 6:25thing that kind of sucked was Hawkinson going
- 6:27out in that. Right away. Right away with that
- 6:30concussion. Don't worry about it. We'll talk
- 6:32about it in an hour. But, I mean, it was like
- 6:34a concern because we saw Hawkinson the last two
- 6:37weeks was like the guy for Kyler where it's like,
- 6:40oh, where is he? There he is. Get it out. So
- 6:43a little concerned to see how that. It's going
- 6:46to impact things going forward, but throughout
- 6:48the course of the game, it didn't seem like it
- 6:50was that big of a deal because of the other tight
- 6:51ends. Right, Bartholomew. Ended up grabbing a
- 6:54couple. We're going to see a lot more of him,
- 6:56too. So, as Vikings fans, do you think that he's
- 6:59scared to run? Or is it a KOC thing? I feel like
- 7:03it's probably a little of both. I feel like it's
- 7:05a little of both because... He only ran his first
- 7:09game back. I feel like he only scrambled the
- 7:11one time outside, and he slid real early. So
- 7:16it's got to be in the back of your mind, especially
- 7:18if you see video of yourself getting knocked
- 7:20out like that. That's got to mess with you at
- 7:22least a little bit. So I think he's still getting
- 7:24settled back in as far as that sense. He was
- 7:28pulling out the baseball slides, though, pretty
- 7:30good yesterday. That's right. Well, he's a great
- 7:32baseball player, too. That's right. Drafted ninth.
- 7:35I think I heard it on the broadcast. All right,
- 7:38anyway, we're not baseball fans. All right, let's
- 7:41move on to our second game of our week five.
- 7:46The Ravens getting the win in OT 30 -23. What
- 7:50a fun game if you're not a Falcons or a Ravens
- 7:52fan, to be honest with you. But, Jake, we will
- 7:56start with you. I'm just going to first say I'm
- 7:58glad that I picked against the Ravens last week.
- 8:01I thought this was a big apology to the flock.
- 8:03No, no apology, because two weeks ago, Smelty...
- 8:07Picked the Bears over the Vikings. That was three
- 8:10weeks ago. That was week one. And he was wrong,
- 8:12too. Yeah. Right. But he was just like the goal.
- 8:15Week one of the season. What a clown. Yeah. But
- 8:16the goal was, I'm going to pick the other team,
- 8:18but I really want my team to win. And they're
- 8:21undefeated. Yeah. Piss off. Psychological. Look
- 8:24at that. So, no hate, but super impressed by
- 8:31Snoop Huntley and just how clean of a game that
- 8:36he played. Pretty smart with the ball. Getting
- 8:39it out. Only had to really make a couple of big
- 8:42plays. The back shoulder fade for the tying touchdown
- 8:48to Coleman. Beautiful pass. Didn't see that coming,
- 8:51actually. No, not at all. Because you're like,
- 8:54oh, they're down towards the goal line. We're
- 8:56going to give it to Henry. As a fancy honor of
- 8:58him, yes. That's what I was hoping. But continue.
- 9:00Are we talking for the two -point? No. No, that
- 9:03was the touchdown. Yeah, okay, yeah. Yeah, Henry
- 9:06got the two -point on that. And that was a wildcat.
- 9:08Yeah. I don't know if I like. They're doing a
- 9:11lot of that right now, and I'm not a fan. First
- 9:13attempt at a wildcat looked awful. Yeah, and
- 9:15so I'm just like, oh. And they almost botched
- 9:17it. If you watch the replay, Zay Flowers almost,
- 9:20like, trucks Henry and knocks the ball out of
- 9:22his hands. But anyway, also impressed with the
- 9:26Ravens' defense. They played good, not great,
- 9:29containing the B. Robinson family. I mean, literally,
- 9:35they brought a chainsaw and cut that tree down,
- 9:37I thought, overall. I mean, they played really
- 9:40well against the run. But also, the offensive
- 9:47line didn't play great. Atlanta was getting still
- 9:50a lot of pressure on Huntley, doing stunts, getting
- 9:53pressure in his face only with a four -man rush,
- 9:57too. So a lot of concern, and then there's growth
- 10:00there that needs to happen. But then just...
- 10:04The overall play calling and how balanced they
- 10:07were over the course of the entire game. I continue
- 10:10to beat this dead horse. Derek Henry, 20 plus.
- 10:13And then they just continued to mix it up. They
- 10:18were behind. They didn't get away from what they're
- 10:21good at. And they're like, all right, we're going
- 10:22to continue to run the ball. He averaged a little
- 10:25over four yards a carry, so still effective.
- 10:28Keeping the chains moving, killing clock like
- 10:31they did in overtime. in their touchdown drive
- 10:35taking up the seven minutes uh and then kyle
- 10:38hamilton continuing to show what a stud he is
- 10:40as a defender um when i i watched like uh atlanta's
- 10:46two plays so the first the first play in overtime
- 10:48where they get Drake London coming across the
- 10:51middle from the left side and then the fault,
- 10:53they hit it. Yeah. And then next play later is
- 10:56Drake London going to the middle from the right.
- 10:59And then Hamilton's just like, he's in a cover
- 11:01too. And so he just continues to fall back. Cause
- 11:04he's got nobody in front of him that he's got
- 11:05to be worried about. Yeah, totally. It was great.
- 11:09It almost looked like one of those. Like, I don't
- 11:12know. There's sometimes when I'm playing Madden
- 11:13or NCAA where, you know, there's an interception
- 11:17where you're like, that right there would not
- 11:20happen in real life. That's how it almost felt
- 11:23for that Kyle Hamilton play because he did bait
- 11:25him so far. And then for him to be able to get
- 11:28over there that fast to pick that off. I mean,
- 11:30at first I thought. And the internet's completely
- 11:33blaming Tua. And at first, like, I was kind of
- 11:35on that train, too, until the replay from behind
- 11:38the Skycam or whatever from behind and just being
- 11:42able to see what he was seeing. It's like, that
- 11:44was going to be there. Yeah. You know, but there's
- 11:47just no way. I mean, Kyle Hamilton was. So athletic.
- 11:50And what was his quote at the end, Kyle? He doesn't
- 11:52get paid for overtime. So he wanted to get back
- 11:57on the bus as soon as possible. That was great.
- 11:59Elite first -round mind there. But I do agree
- 12:02with you with Huntley. I think he played a great
- 12:03game. And then specifically for me, it was that
- 12:05fourth quarter and that final drive. It was like
- 12:09two big throws, the one where he extends the
- 12:11play. But just... Yeah, I don't know. That was
- 12:14a fun game. He really stepped up. Like I said,
- 12:16it was a fun game. It was probably a heart attack
- 12:17for you. Back and forth. Rob and I were talking
- 12:20that you're lucky to have Snoop. I love saying
- 12:22that. Because you don't lose a lot of the playbook.
- 12:25No, not at all. And Zay Flowers actually looked
- 12:27healthy again. Which is funny. He had like eight,
- 12:30nine. He's involved. If he's not there, that
- 12:33makes a lot of it move. And it's funny you mentioned
- 12:35the playbook because that's what we were... We're
- 12:37talking about, like, a week or two ago. It's
- 12:38like, open up the playbook. There's no way he
- 12:40doesn't know it. And it feels like they finally
- 12:43were a little bit. Yeah, Rob and I were just
- 12:44saying, there's so many, like, when you go to
- 12:46your backup, there's not a lot of people. They're
- 12:50lucky to have that. Yeah, 100%. All right, let's
- 12:53move along here. The flock doc took up most of
- 12:56our Raven's time, which is perfect. You're welcome.
- 12:58That's why you're here. That's why you're here.
- 13:00I know. I can't wait for the tent. Oh! A little
- 13:04warm -up either way. He gets a pass. I work here.
- 13:07That's unbelievable. All right, game three. Game
- 13:10three. Also a great game coming down to the wire.
- 13:14Niners stay perfect as well. Boo. But getting
- 13:18the dub over the Seahawks, 32 -29. A lot of people
- 13:25kind of... I mean, huge momentum swing in this
- 13:29game right before halftime. Yeah. And a lot of
- 13:32people kind of blaming McDonald for that. How
- 13:36do you feel about that situation? Taking the
- 13:39time out to try to preserve time, to be aggressive,
- 13:41and then, of course, getting the fumble into
- 13:43the end zone touchdown, right? His argument is
- 13:47we're aggressive. That's why we took the timeouts.
- 13:51We run the football here, so you've got to hold
- 13:53on to the football. I feel like that was the
- 13:55right answer, but it seems like the Internet
- 13:57is absolutely shredding them right now. Is that
- 14:01like a bonehead move? Oh, my God, I haven't said
- 14:03that in a long time, Kev. No, bring it on. There
- 14:05are a lot of bonehead moves this week. Yeah,
- 14:08there's like specifically four coaches. Just
- 14:10not the refs this week. We'll touch on them.
- 14:12Yeah, no refs this week, but we'll touch on some
- 14:14of those other coaching. Interesting decisions
- 14:17in the next episode that we've already mentioned
- 14:19here recently. I mean, he's an aggressive coach.
- 14:23You know, that's just his style. And I think
- 14:24it's on the same side as Shanahan. They were
- 14:27both going to be it. I mean, this play came down
- 14:29to that Cooper Cup, you know, first down play,
- 14:31you know, at the end of the game. Good division
- 14:34matchup. I thought Cooper got it. Looking at
- 14:38a couple different angles, maybe we'll get it
- 14:40into the next episode. A couple more deep. dive
- 14:45onto that. Kevin, if you're looking at our Twitter
- 14:47page, the video and the photo that I'm talking
- 14:49about is on there. It was a good matchup, good
- 14:54game. It was fun. That's what football is all
- 14:58about. Two great teams, probably both playoff
- 15:01teams. Some turnovers. A lot of turnovers. Seven
- 15:08combined. It was just, I don't know. That's just...
- 15:13fun football, good defenses against good offenses
- 15:16and people making plays. It's just, that's what
- 15:19you want to see. You know, like I was, I was
- 15:21excited to watch this game and it was fun and
- 15:23it turned out to be a good one. I think if the
- 15:25Seahawks had, I mean, Jerry and price is out,
- 15:27right. And he's not coming back. I mean, you're
- 15:29still, you're on your third string running back.
- 15:31He had a super bowl MVP. I that's. That's three
- 15:35points there. That's what's missing. Yeah. I
- 15:37think the thing that we need to talk about is
- 15:40Mike Evans' turnaround digs. Oh, man. What's
- 15:43your name? No, no, I know. I mean, I've played
- 15:45him before. I just couldn't tell who's. Yeah,
- 15:48I look like a little bit more than that. He's
- 15:50good, though. Lead bet move. What's your name?
- 15:57Turned you around, and he turned him with ease.
- 15:59Hey, Evan's still balling, so he can do that.
- 16:01With, like. Busted up ribs, too? Yeah. You saw
- 16:04him in the post game. He looks like an old man.
- 16:07He looks like a dude you wouldn't want to, like,
- 16:09you know, like, you see him on the porch. I'm
- 16:11like, I'm not talking to that guy. Like, don't
- 16:14go in his yard. So the Niners, again, staying
- 16:17perfect. They have, on Monday night, they have
- 16:21the Commanders. We reckon they probably stay
- 16:24perfect through that game. Yeah. You know. And
- 16:27then after that, they travel to Atlanta. I feel
- 16:30like with at least a healthy Pennix, that could
- 16:32be an interesting game for them. So maybe that's
- 16:36when we see their first loss. After that, they
- 16:38play the Raiders. Maybe one of those teams. You
- 16:41don't think so? What do you think, Raider Nation?
- 16:43Dude, Raiders are back to earth. You saw. They're
- 16:45exposed. They played pretty well. Their D -line
- 16:47was killing it the first couple games. And Kirk
- 16:50was clean with the ball. But I don't know. Obviously,
- 16:53I hate the Raiders. But at the same time. New
- 16:56England didn't look that good, and all of a sudden
- 16:58they whooped them, what, 45 to 10 or something?
- 17:01Drake Mays on a heater since the Bills game.
- 17:03Yeah. Right on. He's back. He is. He is. But,
- 17:07I mean, when do the Niners lose their first game?
- 17:09Maybe the Niners or the Vikings don't lose until
- 17:12November 22nd when the Vikings play the Niners.
- 17:14Yeah. Then it's for the number one seed in the
- 17:17NFC at that point. They're playing a third -place
- 17:19schedule, right? Who, the Niners? Yeah. I mean,
- 17:24that's why. It helps. But they're playing the
- 17:29AFC West, too. They still got the Chiefs coming
- 17:33up. They're going to get a free one against the
- 17:35Chargers. How do you feel there, Charger Nation?
- 17:40I mean, he's not freaking wrong. That's the problem.
- 17:43We should go right into that. I don't know if
- 17:48it was the ugliest game, but it was pretty pretty
- 17:49ugly. Pretty sloppy game for both sides of the
- 17:55ball. But your Broncos getting the win, 23 -17.
- 17:59You're here. We want to hear from you first.
- 18:01Lay it on us wherever you want to start. J .K.
- 18:04Dobbins is not that good. And I think the similar
- 18:07to, well, he's okay. He's old. And I think Coleman
- 18:10coming back is going to be big. That kid was,
- 18:12he was not making, like. Peyton called it a non
- 18:16-rookie series the last time that he was in before
- 18:18he got hurt with his ankle, where he would pop
- 18:20that one in. He was a rookie MVP. I never even
- 18:23heard of the award, but did he get nominated
- 18:25for it or something like that? I wasn't aware.
- 18:29I'm not sure what that is. They have to run the
- 18:32ball 30 times. They have to know what they are.
- 18:34They're similar to the Vikings. You have an identity.
- 18:36You have a quarterback that busted his ankle
- 18:38last year. The question I asked you about Kyler
- 18:41is the same question I ask. Bo Nix that he's
- 18:44scared to run? Because they had a lot of design
- 18:46run last year. Or is it Sean Payton not, you
- 18:49know, and the whole Davis -Webb change in play?
- 18:52That's just a scapegoat to just hold a little
- 18:55bit of time. Change the narrative a little bit.
- 18:56But, I mean, Sean Payton's always been horrible
- 18:58at getting the play call in. So now he's got,
- 18:59like, four seconds for Bo Nix to see the field,
- 19:01and he can't figure it out, right? Okay. But
- 19:03they talked about Jalen Waddell being so good
- 19:07this year, and we're going to use him in all
- 19:08these different ways. And, I mean, Rob knows.
- 19:11Draft him in our fantasy. I'm like, I never draft
- 19:13Broncos. I write on the top, no Broncos. And
- 19:16I did it this year. That's true, though. He still
- 19:18ends up drafting everything. Well, it's an auction,
- 19:20and you guys all try to get me. You got to bait
- 19:22me in. And we get him. It's all coming out now.
- 19:26He's got Waddle on his team. I do have Waddle.
- 19:30Yeah, but it's just an identity. You have to
- 19:32know that you're a defensive team. Your top two
- 19:35cornerbacks are out, and they did get Jaday Barron
- 19:38last year as a first -round pick. He's more of
- 19:41a safety slash linebacker type. He played well
- 19:43on the outside. I see this, and I know we're
- 19:46not too much talking in the next game, but they're
- 19:49really going to get tested. JSN is going to go
- 19:51after them right away. But you just have to run
- 19:53the ball. You've got to shorten the game. You've
- 19:55got to get quick outs. Peyton's always been good
- 19:58at little tight end screens, tight end outs.
- 20:02It looks like the same play in seven different
- 20:03ways. West Coast. It's what you've got to do.
- 20:07You've got to get him on the boot, and you've
- 20:08got to get Bo Nix doing some stuff like that
- 20:09moving downhill. Who's your tight end? Is it
- 20:12Ingram? Yeah, and he's okay, but you know what
- 20:16he is. But they're also doing a lot of three
- 20:18tight end sets, too, so they have two blocking
- 20:19guys, and a lot of people are, and it's just
- 20:22run the ball. You have to run the ball. Yeah,
- 20:26it's not always about fantasy football. No, unfortunately.
- 20:29A lot of fans have that mindset when they look
- 20:33at stats, that it's all about fantasy football.
- 20:36The Kyler Murray Viking scenario. Obviously,
- 20:39you want your offense to be effective, which
- 20:41the Broncos are really struggling at right now
- 20:43to find their identity. Defense, keeping them
- 20:47in games, but losing those corners. How long
- 20:50is this? Patrick's staying out. Two to four?
- 20:53Two to four out, so plenty of time to get back.
- 20:56I thought the Chargers were going to sneak out
- 20:58a win here. They were in this game to the end.
- 21:01I predicted them to win with Quentin Johnson
- 21:03saving the day, but he ended up not even playing,
- 21:06so that's a tough one. What do you think there,
- 21:09Coach? Or do you just want to go Jacob to finish
- 21:13this out for you? Well, we're going to touch
- 21:16on what I really want to touch on, which is John
- 21:18Harbaugh's decision. On that fourth and one.
- 21:23While leading the game. While you're winless.
- 21:28But we'll save that for the next episode. Since
- 21:32we'll touch on it there. But I do feel the...
- 21:36injuries at offensive line are really affecting
- 21:39them yeah uh big time now their other left guard
- 21:42you know left guard now is down as well joe wald's
- 21:45questionable again uh slater obviously done for
- 21:47the year so it's just again just big hit to the
- 21:50offensive line last two years now the last few
- 21:54years they've been able to get to that 11 win
- 21:56mark and this year it's looking It's not going
- 21:59to happen. They've had better starts in the past.
- 22:03That's the thing, the difference, and then fail
- 22:04at the end. Harbaugh's got to be getting close
- 22:08to the hot seat at this point. And Herbert. Is
- 22:13it Mike McDaniel or is it Herbert? Here we go,
- 22:16asking questions. Rob said ask some questions.
- 22:18Great question. Who is it? How bad Tua looked?
- 22:23He made Tua look pretty good for a while there.
- 22:25I mean, or is it just not a good mesh of the
- 22:28two systems? It might not be a good fit. Yeah,
- 22:30that's what I'm saying. And then on top of that,
- 22:32that Marion Hampton, like you invested heavily
- 22:34in him, right? And he's not giving you anything
- 22:37besides that Vidal run. No run game. And the
- 22:41Harbaugh teams run the ball. Yeah, right. And
- 22:43he's not running the ball. Right. What do you
- 22:45got, Flock? You already got 30 seconds. All right.
- 22:48So, I mean. I mean, the charges were attempting
- 22:52to run the ball. They had 34 rushing attempts.
- 22:54So trying to take advantage of and controlling
- 22:57the clock. But yeah, that offensive line can't
- 23:00stop water at all from coming through, whether
- 23:03it's like we got a leak. Yeah, because I mean,
- 23:06outside of the what Vidal's 42 and then Herbert's
- 23:1123 yard scramble. Like, those are, like, the
- 23:14odd anomalies out there. So they were, like,
- 23:16averaging less than three yards a carry. Herbert
- 23:18got sacked five times, just continuously being
- 23:20under pressure. I don't know if I necessarily,
- 23:24well, fault Harbaugh for the decision, but also
- 23:27their defense was, like, keeping them in that
- 23:30game, too. So, I mean, spoilers for the next
- 23:33episode. I don't mind his decision, but they
- 23:38could have easily have just punted and probably
- 23:40held on. Yeah, especially when the defense was
- 23:42keeping them in the game. Right on. Right on.
- 23:46Is what it is. Chargers fall to 0 -5 and continue
- 23:49on looking for their first win of the season
- 23:51as they travel to the Chiefs and then to the
- 23:53L .A. Rams. Good luck. At least when they play
- 23:57the Rams, it's kind of a home game, too. So,
- 23:59I don't know. We'll see. But not looking great
- 24:02for the Chargers. But with that, we'll end our
- 24:04week five recap episode. Nathan, thanks for joining
- 24:09us this week. Thank you. Great to have you on.
- 24:11We got you for the next two episodes as well.
