Latest / Outspoken the Podcast / Skye Wheatley’s Relationship Limbo
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:04Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:08Speaker 1: Sophie Torver and coming up on today's show, Sky Wheatley
- 0:12Speaker 1: and Lockie Waugh's relationship limbo and Matt Sikowsky spotted with
- 0:16Speaker 1: a new flame in Adelaide. But first, Mitch Orville and
- 0:20Speaker 1: Chloe Zepp are making a return to YouTube, Kate. I'm
- 0:23Speaker 1: very excited about this announcement. So last week, Mitch posed
- 0:27Speaker 1: the question to his Instagram followers whether he should make
- 0:29Speaker 1: a return to YouTube. And it's all coming off the
- 0:32Speaker 1: back of his sons wanting to be a part of
- 0:35Speaker 1: the channel. So he wrote, me and Chloe stopped doing
- 0:38Speaker 1: YouTube because we didn't think it was fair to make
- 0:40Speaker 1: that decision on behalf of our kids at an early
- 0:42Speaker 1: age to document their life online. Fast forward three to
- 0:45Speaker 1: four years and the boys, especially Artie, love outdoor adventure
- 0:49Speaker 1: YouTube channels, a.k.a. Brody Moss. I feel like all the
- 0:52Speaker 1: kids love a bit of Brody Moss. Yeah, I think
- 0:55Speaker 1: Indy Clinton's son is a big fan too. So is
- 0:57Speaker 1: Sarah's day son, Fox. Yeah, so Mitch said that now
- 1:00Speaker 1: he wants to do what mum and dad did, full
- 1:02Speaker 1: circle moment. Should we fire up the family YouTube channel
- 1:05Speaker 1: again but make it outdoor and adventure? Now the following
- 1:09Speaker 1: morning Mitch mocked up his face on Russell Coit's body
- 1:12Speaker 1: and wrote, the YouTube is coming back, stay tuned. He
- 1:16Speaker 1: then shared a screenshot of insights from his original story
- 1:20Speaker 1: that showed 93.7 thousand people had viewed it and over
- 1:23Speaker 1: 5,000 people had liked it. 875 people had replied and
- 1:28Speaker 1: 133 had shared it. So I think that is a
- 1:30Speaker 1: big yes. We want to see Mitch and Chloe back
- 1:32Speaker 1: on YouTube. But I want to see them back family vlogging.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I don't necessarily want to see them sharing their outdoor adventures.
- 1:38Speaker 1: I want to hear about their life. I, but my
- 1:40Speaker 1: husband loves Brodie Moss. He is a massive fan. Occasionally
- 1:44Speaker 1: I will watch the videos with him, but I think
- 1:46Speaker 1: that Mitch and Chloe's audience is built on a lot
- 1:49Speaker 1: of young women who prefer to hear about their life
- 1:52Speaker 1: and perhaps their family life as opposed to seeing them
- 1:54Speaker 1: go on these outdoorsy adventures. When you consider that Mitch
- 1:57Speaker 1: and Chloe shut down the YouTube channel because they didn't
- 1:59Speaker 1: think it was fair to make that decision on their
- 2:02Speaker 1: son's behalf, but now when they're four and five, they're like,
- 2:05Speaker 1: oh yeah, they approve. It's sort of, is a little
- 2:08Speaker 1: bit murky because really how much weight can you put
- 2:10Speaker 1: on the consent of a four and five-year-old saying that
- 2:12Speaker 1: they want to be on YouTube? They don't really understand
- 2:15Speaker 1: what that means. I think because this is going to
- 2:17Speaker 1: be a totally different genre of content, they perhaps feel
- 2:19Speaker 1: more comfortable because it's not going to be specifically about
- 2:22Speaker 1: the children's lives and the tantrums that they're having and
- 2:24Speaker 1: go too much into their personal details. Yes, there are
- 2:27Speaker 1: still issues around their children's faces being splashed online and
- 2:31Speaker 1: privacy and that sort of thing. But maybe they're going
- 2:34Speaker 1: to be very careful with what they share. It'll be
- 2:36Speaker 1: interesting to see what they end up sharing on YouTube.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Over the weekend, it seemed like they may have been
- 2:41Speaker 1: filming because Mitch shared that he and his sons were
- 2:44Speaker 1: out fishing. So maybe that's the first adventure that we're
- 2:46Speaker 1: going to see. It's interesting to consider how long Mitch
- 2:49Speaker 1: and Chloe have actually been offline because the last video
- 2:53Speaker 1: Chloe shared on her individual channel was back in November 2019.
- 2:56Speaker 1: So that was, of course, before the pandemic. She did
- 3:02Speaker 1: feature though on the couple's joint YouTube channel called Chloe
- 3:06Speaker 1: and Mitch. So they started that channel back in 2017
- 3:09Speaker 1: and they stopped posting on YouTube in October 2021. I
- 3:11Speaker 1: remember there was always this rumor that Chloe sang their
- 3:15Speaker 1: YouTube's theme song.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Everyone said just for some reason they envisioned her in
- 3:20Speaker 1: their head when they heard it.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I mean, at that point when they had the couple's channel,
- 3:25Speaker 1: Mitch had pretty much taken over and you could tell
- 3:27Speaker 1: that Chloe was not interested in being involved in It
- 3:30Speaker 1: was amid a lot of breakup rumors as well. And
- 3:33Speaker 1: the last video Mitch posted was actually called What I
- 3:36Speaker 1: Do in a Day with Artie. I actually think that
- 3:38Speaker 1: this is a stroke of genius. It's clear that Mitch
- 3:41Speaker 1: is going for a different type of audience. In this case,
- 3:44Speaker 1: it will likely be young dads and their kids watching it.
- 3:46Speaker 1: And I think that it's going to lead to a
- 3:48Speaker 1: lot less scrutiny.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I mean, if it was Chloe Zep starting a mommy
- 3:51Speaker 1: vlogging channel, it would be very different.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Yeah, this is her. This is where I'm at in life.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Matt Sikowsky has been spotted with a potential new flame
- 4:01Speaker 1: in Adelaide just months after announcing his divorce to Tammy Hambro. Kate,
- 4:05Speaker 1: this one is close to home for us. Can you
- 4:07Speaker 1: tell us more? Yeah, well, for those listeners who aren't aware,
- 4:10Speaker 1: we live in Adelaide. So when these photos emerged online
- 4:14Speaker 1: via Influencer Updates AU, I was like, hang on, I
- 4:16Speaker 1: recognize that spot. And I was like, Imagine if we
- 4:19Speaker 1: had run into them. Well, originally Influencer Updates was posting
- 4:22Speaker 1: that it was in fact in Melbourne, which made sense
- 4:25Speaker 1: because that is where Matt is from. But this new
- 4:28Speaker 1: woman is an Adelaide girl. We love an Adelaide girl.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:31Speaker 1: So her name is Emily Lawson. She isn't a public
- 4:34Speaker 1: figure herself, but she has around 9,000 followers on Instagram
- 4:38Speaker 1: and 6,000 on TikTok. And it was Emily who hard
- 4:41Speaker 1: launched the relationship on her Instagram story. So she posted
- 4:44Speaker 1: a mirror selfie of her and Matt in front of
- 4:46Speaker 1: what looked like a hotel lift. She also documented their
- 4:49Speaker 1: night out together, which included dinner at Pastel Wine Bar
- 4:52Speaker 1: on O'Connell Street. It looked like a very romantic night,
- 4:55Speaker 1: which finished up with watching fireworks over the Adelaide CBD.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Matt Zukowski ended up sharing vision from the fireworks later on,
- 5:02Speaker 1: so confirmed that he was there with Emily watching them.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I can't help but feel proud that Adelaide has been
- 5:07Speaker 1: pulled into this Tammy Hembrough-Matt Zukowski story and They made
- 5:11Speaker 1: it look like a cool place to go out. Well,
- 5:13Speaker 1: it is a cool place to be. Well, Matt Zukowski
- 5:16Speaker 1: also looked incredibly tall in this photo with Emily. I
- 5:20Speaker 1: don't know if Emily is short, but he looked massive.
- 5:22Speaker 1: And I have to say, very good looking as well. Well,
- 5:24Speaker 1: he is six foot five. So I think he's going
- 5:26Speaker 1: to make most women look short. Now, as we mentioned
- 5:29Speaker 1: at the start, it didn't take long for one of
- 5:30Speaker 1: Emily's followers to give Influencer Updates AU the tip off.
- 5:34Speaker 1: So Amber broke the news on her account on Sunday morning.
- 5:38Speaker 1: And a few of Emily's friends were very excited by
- 5:40Speaker 1: her feature on the page and tagged her saying, that's
- 5:43Speaker 1: our girl. It seems to me like Emily wanted this
- 5:46Speaker 1: information out there. I wonder if Matt didn't want the
- 5:49Speaker 1: news out there though, because he's been getting quite a
- 5:52Speaker 1: good rap lately by, I don't want to say playing
- 5:55Speaker 1: the role, because I'm not saying he's putting it on,
- 5:56Speaker 1: but by assuming the role of the guy who seems
- 5:59Speaker 1: bummed out by the divorce. You know, we heard that
- 6:01Speaker 1: Tammy Hambro moved on very quickly with Bailey Smith and
- 6:05Speaker 1: You could tell on Matt's podcast that he seemed quite
- 6:07Speaker 1: sad and down in the dumps about it. But now
- 6:10Speaker 1: it's like, well, he's moved on pretty fast too.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:13Speaker 1: So I think if Tammy hadn't have gone public with
- 6:16Speaker 1: Bailey Smith, this would be playing out very differently and
- 6:19Speaker 1: Matt would be the villain.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Now, in terms of what we know about Emily, she
- 6:23Speaker 1: is 24, which funnily enough is the same age as
- 6:26Speaker 1: Bailey Smith. So they've both moved on with younger counterparts.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Younger blondes. I have to say, she has a striking
- 6:32Speaker 1: resemblance to Tammy Hembrough. She has the same bleach blonde
- 6:35Speaker 1: hair and let's say similar body shape. Yeah, they both
- 6:38Speaker 1: got great bodies. I had a thorough look over Instagram
- 6:42Speaker 1: page for research purposes, of course, and we had a
- 6:44Speaker 1: couple of mutual friends in there, but no one that
- 6:46Speaker 1: I'm close enough with to be like, oh, hey, what's
- 6:49Speaker 1: the scoop? Well, for those who don't know, people say
- 6:51Speaker 1: that Adelaide is like a big country town where everyone
- 6:53Speaker 1: knows one another. That being said, there is a 12
- 6:56Speaker 1: year age difference between us and Emily. So I'm not
- 6:58Speaker 1: surprised that we don't have heaps of friends in common.
- 7:01Speaker 1: From having a deeper look though, she did work on
- 7:04Speaker 1: a Walt Disney cruise ship. So she's been living her
- 7:07Speaker 1: best life.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:08Speaker 1: It seems like she's also gone through her own difficult
- 7:10Speaker 1: breakup this time last year. So in September, she posted
- 7:14Speaker 1: tips of things that helped her deal after dating a narcissist.
- 7:18Speaker 1: And I found that very interesting because Matt has spoken
- 7:21Speaker 1: on his podcast before about navigating narcissistic relationships. At the time,
- 7:26Speaker 1: we suggested that it seemed like it was a bit
- 7:28Speaker 1: of a dig at his relationship with Tammy. So I
- 7:31Speaker 1: wonder if that's been a bit of a topic of conversation. Again,
- 7:34Speaker 1: not saying that Tammy is a narcissist. I think after
- 7:37Speaker 1: you go through a toxic relationship and a breakup, a
- 7:39Speaker 1: lot of people label their exes as narcissists. I mean,
- 7:43Speaker 1: people don't seem to understand that you actually have to
- 7:45Speaker 1: be diagnosed as a narcissist by a psychiatrist. Like, it's
- 7:49Speaker 1: not as common as you think. And it's different to
- 7:51Speaker 1: have narcissistic tendencies than actually being a full-blown narcissist. Just
- 7:56Speaker 1: to get more of an overview of Emily's personality... Luckily
- 8:00Speaker 1: for us, she recently got involved in the unfortunately I
- 8:03Speaker 1: love trend on TikTok. So she shared that unfortunately she
- 8:07Speaker 1: loves being wine drunk, blocking people, ignoring men, oversharing. That's great.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Taking a million photos, only having hot friends and being hot.
- 8:17Speaker 1: I don't know how I feel about the last two.
- 8:19Speaker 1: There's a bit of phenocytic qualities there. It kind of
- 8:22Speaker 1: reminded me of Regina George on Mean Girls. I mean,
- 8:25Speaker 1: I'm sure it's a bit of a joke. assuming that
- 8:27Speaker 1: Matt and Emily must've met on Raya because how else
- 8:29Speaker 1: are they crossing paths? Yeah. It seems like a pretty
- 8:31Speaker 1: common thing on that app. So for those not familiar
- 8:34Speaker 1: with Raya, it is sort of coined as the dating
- 8:36Speaker 1: app for celebrities, but let's face it. It's a lot
- 8:39Speaker 1: of Z grade celebrities. And then people say celebrities. I
- 8:43Speaker 1: think it's just a lot of people who either have
- 8:45Speaker 1: a fake following or they just get the code from
- 8:48Speaker 1: their friends.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:49Speaker 1: So I'm guessing that Emily, because she has around 9,000
- 8:52Speaker 1: followers on Instagram, Maybe she's got on through that. I
- 8:56Speaker 1: don't know. Yeah. Well, Tammy is yet to comment on
- 8:59Speaker 1: her ex-husband moving on. I don't really think that she
- 9:02Speaker 1: is in a position to do so considering she was
- 9:05Speaker 1: very fast to move on with Bailey Smith herself.
- 9:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Before this news broke though, Tammy hinted on her TikTok
- 9:12Speaker 1: that she was dealing with some stressful things at the moment.
- 9:15Speaker 1: So she filmed a Get Ready video with me before
- 9:18Speaker 1: attending White Fox Boutique's 12th birthday dinner. Let's take a
- 9:21Speaker 1: listen to some of what she said.
- 9:23Speaker 2: I have so much coming up and I have so
- 9:24Speaker 2: much to be grateful for. I do have like some
- 9:27Speaker 2: other stressful things that I'm dealing with, dealing with, am
- 9:32Speaker 2: I doing that right?
- 9:32Speaker 1: I'm forgetting how to speak English. I had like four
- 9:35Speaker 1: hours sleep last night, guys.
- 9:36Speaker 2: I have so much to be grateful for and so
- 9:38Speaker 2: much to be happy about and excited about. And then
- 9:40Speaker 2: on the other hand, I have like all these stresses.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Tammy went on to reveal that she did three podcast
- 9:46Speaker 1: interviews last week and she was nervous about what she said.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Let's take a listen.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Some of them, I'm like, literally, what did I say?
- 9:54Speaker 2: Like at the end of the day, I don't want
- 9:55Speaker 2: to like upset anyone. Like I just want, I just
- 9:59Speaker 2: want peace. I don't want like drama. I don't want
- 10:01Speaker 2: to hurt anyone's feelings. I don't want to upset anyone.
- 10:03Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't know what I said, guys. I got,
- 10:05Speaker 2: I got deep and I got personal. I am a
- 10:08Speaker 2: little nervous though, because I don't usually say yes to
- 10:11Speaker 2: things like that.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Like, I don't know. But I actually enjoyed it.
- 10:14Speaker 2: And you know what? It'll be fine.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I really hope she has opened up more so than
- 10:20Speaker 1: she did on No Filter, which is Mia Friedman's podcast.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Poor Mia. She's a fantastic interviewer, but she was absolutely
- 10:25Speaker 1: pulling at teeth to get any sort of answers from her.
- 10:28Speaker 1: But maybe now she's going through this breakup. It's just
- 10:30Speaker 1: like verbal diarrhea. I've got to say, I was pretty
- 10:34Speaker 1: cut when I was listening to this because Just a
- 10:37Speaker 1: bit of inside information for pulling back the curtain here.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:41Speaker 1: We actually locked in an interview with Tammy Hembrough and
- 10:45Speaker 1: her sisters that would have aired this week, but last minute,
- 10:49Speaker 1: you know, you can put timelines together. It got cut.
- 10:51Speaker 1: And putting it out there, that was an opportunity that
- 10:54Speaker 1: came to us. We didn't go out seeking that. Initially,
- 10:57Speaker 1: I was surprised that they would consider appearing on our podcast,
- 11:01Speaker 1: but Then when I thought about it, well, we have
- 11:03Speaker 1: such an engaged audience who cares about Tammy and her life.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I mean, it would have been an amazing opportunity for
- 11:08Speaker 1: her and also for us because I would have loved
- 11:10Speaker 1: to sit down with her and been like, okay, it's
- 11:13Speaker 1: time to set the record straight. Like, tell us what
- 11:15Speaker 1: you actually think about all of these things that we've
- 11:17Speaker 1: covered before. Unfortunately, that fell through right at the end.
- 11:22Speaker 1: So it is disappointing. I'm interested to see what podcast
- 11:25Speaker 1: she has appeared on. One podcast that I know of
- 11:27Speaker 1: is Jade Tunchi and Lockie Bricky's podcast called Mad About You.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Which is a safe choice because obviously Jade being a
- 11:34Speaker 1: fellow influencer, they're not really going to go too hard
- 11:37Speaker 1: on her, are they? She may tell Jade a bit though,
- 11:40Speaker 1: because I've listened to their podcast before and Jade and
- 11:43Speaker 1: Lockie are really friendly. They come across as really likeable.
- 11:47Speaker 1: And maybe it just, you know, for Tammy, she might've
- 11:49Speaker 1: felt like she was talking to friends.
- 11:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Well, that's true. They probably will get the scoop with
- 11:54Speaker 1: the softly, softly approach. I'm wondering if she'll also be
- 11:56Speaker 1: on Life Uncut. Oh, 100%. I definitely think that she'll
- 11:59Speaker 1: be on there. Do you think maybe the other one
- 12:02Speaker 1: I thought of was Something to Talk About by Stella Magazine?
- 12:05Speaker 1: Maybe all the sisters will appear? Yeah, we'll probably see
- 12:08Speaker 1: a spread. That would be some good promo for their
- 12:10Speaker 1: supplements company. Well, it's clear that one of the podcast
- 12:12Speaker 1: interviews involves her and her sisters, Emily and Amy, because
- 12:17Speaker 1: They filmed themselves on Snapchat and also on TikTok sitting
- 12:20Speaker 1: at like a recording studio on a couch. And judging
- 12:24Speaker 1: by a TikTok Tammy shared, I think that Emily and
- 12:28Speaker 1: Amy probably went a bit rogue about Matt during one
- 12:31Speaker 1: of the interviews because Tammy has said how worried she
- 12:34Speaker 1: is about what got said. Well, they've got prior for
- 12:37Speaker 1: it as well. And it seems like after that interview,
- 12:39Speaker 1: you know, when you're on a bit of a high
- 12:40Speaker 1: for ragging on someone. Because Tammy's then let that spill
- 12:44Speaker 1: across onto her TikTok. So she filmed a video where
- 12:47Speaker 1: she panned across to her sisters and she wrote, I
- 12:50Speaker 1: may have let go, but my sisters will hate you forever.
- 12:53Speaker 1: With a trending sound that said, sources confirm your vibe
- 12:56Speaker 1: was weird. And yes, everyone felt it. Someone did comment
- 13:00Speaker 1: under that, I fear Amy the most, to which Emily responded,
- 13:03Speaker 1: me too, with the covering eyes emoji. Well, Matt's also
- 13:06Speaker 1: been making reference to the divorce on his own podcast.
- 13:09Speaker 1: So He recently spoke with Anna McAvoy about the Nicole
- 13:13Speaker 1: Kidman and Keith Urban divorce announcement. And they basically were
- 13:16Speaker 1: pointing out that when a divorce announcement happens, the blame
- 13:19Speaker 1: is often unfairly put on the man. And there was
- 13:22Speaker 1: also a reference to the fact that Matthew McConaughey's parents
- 13:25Speaker 1: got divorced and remarried three times. And Matt said that
- 13:28Speaker 1: definitely wouldn't be happening in his case. It was a
- 13:31Speaker 1: bit of a change of pace to have Matt and
- 13:33Speaker 1: Anna McAvoy dissecting the headlines. Like they've introduced this new
- 13:37Speaker 1: second episode of the week. And I was like, wow,
- 13:40Speaker 1: because they dissected Taylor Swift's album. And I'm like, you
- 13:44Speaker 1: clearly couldn't find two people that were less interested in
- 13:47Speaker 1: the release. I actually felt dumb listening to it. And
- 13:49Speaker 1: I know that sounds terrible, but it was quite clear
- 13:51Speaker 1: that their producer had put together a few key points
- 13:54Speaker 1: and they sort of had to ramble through the dot points.
- 13:57Speaker 1: And it was clear that they knew nothing about it. Yeah,
- 13:59Speaker 1: there was no research really done. I would rather them
- 14:02Speaker 1: just talk about their personal lives because I do enjoy
- 14:05Speaker 1: tuning in. But I don't really want to hear their
- 14:07Speaker 1: take on celebrity gossip, particularly if they're not actually interested
- 14:09Speaker 1: in it. Yeah, I think that it seems like an
- 14:12Speaker 1: easy thing to do, but it's actually not, particularly when
- 14:14Speaker 1: you have podcasts like Shameless that do such a good
- 14:17Speaker 1: job of it. It's like you can't compete in that space.
- 14:20Speaker 1: People just want to hear your advice on dating and
- 14:23Speaker 1: your relationship. That's what your podcast is. I understand people
- 14:27Speaker 1: can branch out, but it's sort of a very competitive industry.
- 14:30Speaker 1: And yeah, it just because I listen to a lot
- 14:32Speaker 1: of pop culture podcasts, it just the comparison was quite glaring.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I have to admit, I do tune in every week.
- 14:38Speaker 1: And while my motivation mostly is to get content for
- 14:41Speaker 1: this podcast and be across what's happening in the Tammy Hembrough,
- 14:44Speaker 1: Matt Sikowsky sphere, I do enjoy it. Like it's an
- 14:47Speaker 1: easy listen. And on Tuesday, I had to laugh to
- 14:51Speaker 1: myself because Matt revealed that he's been recycling plastic bottles
- 14:55Speaker 1: and cans from his office in a bid to save
- 14:57Speaker 1: up for a trip to Europe. And I thought that
- 14:59Speaker 1: was very brave of him to talk about because it
- 15:01Speaker 1: made it seem like he has a lot of financial
- 15:03Speaker 1: stresses going on. And it was in complete contrast to
- 15:06Speaker 1: Tammy Hembrough's life where she's worth $ 50 million. Let's take
- 15:09Speaker 1: a listen to what he said.
- 15:11Speaker 4: You know how now they do the 10 cents for
- 15:13Speaker 4: cans and bottles? Yeah, this is where I'm at in life.
- 15:17Speaker 4: This is where I'm at.
- 15:19Speaker 1: So for those unaware, Matt does a nine to five
- 15:21Speaker 1: job alongside his podcast and influencing career. So he is
- 15:25Speaker 1: a project manager for his dad's pool company. And he
- 15:28Speaker 1: told Anna McAvoy that their office manager decided it was
- 15:31Speaker 1: cheaper to purchase slabs of bottled water rather than getting
- 15:34Speaker 1: a water fountain fitted in the office. And he decided
- 15:38Speaker 1: he would collect the bottles and cash them in to
- 15:39Speaker 1: make some extra money. Let's take a listen to more
- 15:42Speaker 1: of what he said.
- 15:43Speaker 4: So I go around with a bag and I like
- 15:45Speaker 4: shake it for everyone and they put their bottles in
- 15:47Speaker 4: there and I say, thanks guys, you're paying for my
- 15:49Speaker 4: Europe trip, blah, blah, blah. So I have four big
- 15:52Speaker 4: garbage bags of like plastic bottles and cans that I
- 15:54Speaker 4: collected from the office, right? People in the office were
- 15:56Speaker 4: getting annoyed. They're like, you can't just leave them here, blah, blah, blah.
- 15:59Speaker 4: So I was like, all right. So I took them
- 16:00Speaker 4: into the place. Have you been there before?
- 16:02Speaker 1: I don't even know what this place is. Explain it.
- 16:05Speaker 4: So it's like a recycle plant. I had to Google
- 16:07Speaker 4: it where it was and you're like- And they pay you? Yeah,
- 16:09Speaker 4: they give you 10 cents for each bottle.
- 16:13Speaker 1: You're going to need to collect a lot of bottles
- 16:14Speaker 1: if you're going to Europe. Now, Matt did leave very
- 16:17Speaker 1: disappointed because he thought that four bags of plastic bottles
- 16:20Speaker 1: would get him around $ 400, but it ended up just
- 16:23Speaker 1: being 90. And he said that it wasn't worth the effort.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I was pretty shocked when I heard Anna McAvoy say
- 16:29Speaker 1: that she didn't know you could cash in your bottles
- 16:31Speaker 1: and cans for 10 cents. It turns out, though, that
- 16:34Speaker 1: the container deposit scheme has only been in place in
- 16:36Speaker 1: Victoria since 2023. Oh, really? I didn't know that it
- 16:40Speaker 1: wasn't in place in Melbourne because as kids, I remember
- 16:42Speaker 1: we were swapping cans and bottles. It must have been
- 16:45Speaker 1: in place for a lot longer in South Australia. Yeah,
- 16:47Speaker 1: so in South Australia, we've had it in place since 1977,
- 16:51Speaker 1: and the other states have also had it in place
- 16:53Speaker 1: for a fairly long time. It's just been Victoria who
- 16:55Speaker 1: haven't had it. Oh, Gives a bit more context to
- 16:58Speaker 1: Matt's story as to perhaps why he's so excited to
- 17:00Speaker 1: collect the cans.
- 17:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:01Speaker 1: And it's more of a novelty. It's a bit of
- 17:02Speaker 1: a letdown for him though, because this time last year
- 17:05Speaker 1: he was getting set to marry a woman worth 50
- 17:08Speaker 1: plus million dollars. And now he's having to scrounge around
- 17:10Speaker 1: for cans to fund his Europe trip. To be fair
- 17:12Speaker 1: to Matt, it is a noble thing to do in
- 17:14Speaker 1: the sense that it's good for the planet. And who
- 17:17Speaker 1: couldn't use a bit of extra cash? I mean, we
- 17:19Speaker 1: have a recycling bin at our house that we put
- 17:20Speaker 1: all our cans and bottles in. We take them down
- 17:22Speaker 1: to the depot. Look, he's becoming one of the people,
- 17:24Speaker 1: isn't he? One of the people. He's exchanging cans for
- 17:28Speaker 1: money and dating an Adelaide girl.
- 17:30Speaker 6: So there has been a lot going on with me
- 17:33Speaker 6: and lots of headlines that we'll address today too.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Skye Wheatley has opened up about her much publicized breakup
- 17:40Speaker 1: from baby daddy Lockie Waugh. The former Big Brother contestant
- 17:43Speaker 1: has backtracked describing the situation as relationship limbo and admitted
- 17:47Speaker 1: they plan to work things out So if this has
- 17:50Speaker 1: come as a surprise to her followers, as only a
- 17:52Speaker 1: few weeks ago, she confirmed the split on her Instagram live. Yeah,
- 17:55Speaker 1: and what a memorable Instagram live it was. She was
- 17:58Speaker 1: holidaying at an Airbnb on the Sunshine Coast with her
- 18:01Speaker 1: two kids when she broke the news to her followers.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Now in the live, she confirmed that the couple had
- 18:06Speaker 1: broken up and even responded to a follower who asked
- 18:09Speaker 1: if Lockie had cheated on her saying, I don't know, maybe.
- 18:14Speaker 1: She also confirmed in that live that she and Lockie
- 18:16Speaker 1: would still be finishing off their extensive renovations together, which
- 18:20Speaker 1: they have been documenting for the past six years. Now,
- 18:24Speaker 1: Skye was acting quite erratically during that live, so much
- 18:28Speaker 1: so that some of her followers were convinced that she
- 18:30Speaker 1: was intoxicated. But she later confirmed in the comment section
- 18:34Speaker 1: that she was in fact sober whilst filming that live. Yeah. Well,
- 18:38Speaker 1: I'm glad that she clarified what was going on. Now,
- 18:40Speaker 1: a few days on from this breakup announcement, Lockie was
- 18:43Speaker 1: spotted in the background of one of Skye's friends' Instagram stories. Now,
- 18:47Speaker 1: in the photo, Skye and her friend were cheersing beers
- 18:50Speaker 1: at her home, while Lockie was in the background also
- 18:53Speaker 1: holding a beer. This led followers to speculate that perhaps
- 18:56Speaker 1: they were working on things. Now, off the back of
- 18:59Speaker 1: the speculation, Skye uploaded a podcast called Let's Talk Past Breakups.
- 19:05Speaker 1: And a lot of people assumed she would be talking
- 19:07Speaker 1: about her situation with Lockie. She briefly touched on the
- 19:10Speaker 1: fact that they've gone through a lot of breaks and
- 19:13Speaker 1: that she had posed the question recently to Lockie that
- 19:16Speaker 1: could they go on a break for six months? And
- 19:18Speaker 1: he said, well, we may as well break up. But
- 19:21Speaker 1: the majority of the episode was actually about Skye's breakup
- 19:24Speaker 1: with her boyfriend before Lockie called Cam. And also her
- 19:27Speaker 1: co-host Callum spoke a lot about his breakups.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Well, I think that there must have been a lot
- 19:33Speaker 1: of listeners writing in saying, hey, what's happening here? You've
- 19:36Speaker 1: teased us that you're going to talk about this breakup.
- 19:37Speaker 1: What's going on? Because this week she released an episode
- 19:41Speaker 1: entitled Sky Addresses the Lockie Breakup Rumors. Now, I want
- 19:45Speaker 1: to provide some visual context because during this podcast recording,
- 19:49Speaker 1: Sky was randomly wearing a pink wig and she said
- 19:52Speaker 1: it was because it's Halloween month and it fits into
- 19:56Speaker 1: the spooky theme. Now, I want to address that because
- 19:58Speaker 1: she does mention the wig in a grab that we
- 19:59Speaker 1: are going to play later on. I was thrown by
- 20:01Speaker 1: what she was wearing because she's come out and said
- 20:03Speaker 1: all these, you know, newsworthy things about her breakup and
- 20:06Speaker 1: she didn't look like herself. Well, is it because when
- 20:08Speaker 1: people go through a breakup, they change their hair? She's
- 20:10Speaker 1: trying to do something dramatic. Now, off the bat, I
- 20:14Speaker 1: want to point out that I thought it was pretty
- 20:16Speaker 1: ridiculous that they were calling these breakup rumors. It's a
- 20:19Speaker 1: bit cheeky because the only person who fired up these
- 20:21Speaker 1: rumors was Skye herself. Because She obviously jumped in her
- 20:25Speaker 1: life and flat out said that they'd broken up. So
- 20:27Speaker 1: they're not rumors. You confirmed the breakup. Well, I suppose
- 20:30Speaker 1: she was addressing rumors that were already out there because
- 20:32Speaker 1: she hadn't posted with Lockie for quite some time, but
- 20:35Speaker 1: she's confirmed the rumor. Anyway, she ended up telling her
- 20:39Speaker 1: listeners that she was going to address the rumors head on.
- 20:42Speaker 1: But from there, she lost me. It got very confusing
- 20:45Speaker 1: because while she did confirm that the breakup took place,
- 20:49Speaker 1: she said that she and Lockie are now just on
- 20:51Speaker 1: a break. with the idea that they will work things out. Okay.
- 20:55Speaker 1: So let's have a listen to some of what she said.
- 20:58Speaker 6: Basically, you heard it here first, there has been a breakup,
- 21:04Speaker 6: but then like we've been co-parenting and this is like
- 21:07Speaker 6: the longest we've gone.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Separated.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:12Speaker 6: Because normally we'll have like little breaks, you know, because
- 21:15Speaker 6: there's been a lot on both our plates.
- 21:16Speaker 5: We're both stressed with work. We've got two young children.
- 21:20Speaker 6: Trying to navigate two young boys and a renovation plus
- 21:24Speaker 6: our own businesses, like it's been very stressful. And I
- 21:27Speaker 6: think it's very hard to understand each other sometimes. So, yeah,
- 21:33Speaker 6: we'll usually have little breaks so we can just like,
- 21:35Speaker 6: you know, reset and then we usually come back. But
- 21:39Speaker 6: this has definitely been the longest co-parenting.
- 21:42Speaker 5: Split slash break we've ever had. I think we did
- 21:45Speaker 5: get super close there.
- 21:47Speaker 6: To ending it and calling it quits. But maybe I
- 21:54Speaker 6: freaked out a little bit and I was like, oh
- 21:56Speaker 6: my God, I just don't know if I can go
- 21:58Speaker 6: through this right now.
- 22:00Speaker 1: So essentially reading between the lines, it sounds like things
- 22:02Speaker 1: have been rocky for quite some time for the couple
- 22:05Speaker 1: and that they've been on a couple of breaks, but
- 22:08Speaker 1: maybe one of their recent arguments got so out of
- 22:10Speaker 1: hand that the sky went public with it and now
- 22:13Speaker 1: she's having to backtrack a bit. Well, she confirmed on
- 22:15Speaker 1: the podcast that she was the one who initiated the
- 22:17Speaker 1: breakup and said that she was the one who was
- 22:19Speaker 1: pretty firm and strong with keeping it that way. But
- 22:23Speaker 1: since then, she's said she's had a full mental breakdown
- 22:25Speaker 1: and freak out over it. Yeah, because she said that
- 22:27Speaker 1: the breakup actually coincided with a falling out with a
- 22:30Speaker 1: friend and she didn't feel strong enough to go through
- 22:33Speaker 1: both a friendship bust up and also a breakup. So
- 22:36Speaker 1: now she and Lockie have decided to try and work
- 22:39Speaker 1: through it and go to couples counselling. Well, it's not
- 22:41Speaker 1: the first time they've actually been to couples counselling. We
- 22:44Speaker 1: have discussed it on our podcast. I think it was
- 22:46Speaker 1: like a year or so ago. But basically, when Skye
- 22:50Speaker 1: and Lockie were trying to find a psychologist to help
- 22:53Speaker 1: with their son, Forrest, the psychologist actually said... hearing you
- 22:57Speaker 1: guys interact, you guys need to go to a couple's counsellor.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Drumming up some business with a psychologist there. Yeah, but
- 23:03Speaker 1: Skye said she felt like that the counsellor they spoke
- 23:06Speaker 1: to was always on Lockie's side. And then they found
- 23:08Speaker 1: one that was more neutral, but it seems like they've probably,
- 23:11Speaker 1: you know, not gone as much as they should have.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I found it quite difficult listening to that grab because
- 23:17Speaker 1: it seems like they're just trying to stay together for
- 23:19Speaker 1: the sake of the house and also their kids. But
- 23:22Speaker 1: surely the kids would be picking up on that negative tension,
- 23:25Speaker 1: particularly because she said that they're not really talking to
- 23:28Speaker 1: each other. I think they're putting a bit of a
- 23:29Speaker 1: patch over everything at the moment until the house is done.
- 23:32Speaker 1: That's what it sounds like. I want to get back
- 23:34Speaker 1: to her mention of a friendship bust up because there
- 23:37Speaker 1: has been a lot of speculation that this friendship breakdown
- 23:40Speaker 1: is between her and her business partner, Tori. So Tori
- 23:43Speaker 1: is a fellow influencer and they run Good People Apparel together. Now,
- 23:48Speaker 1: originally when the breakup news broke, Tori appeared to throw
- 23:51Speaker 1: shade at Lockie. So She wrote, when you're a girl's girl,
- 23:54Speaker 1: so now I've got more beef with her ex than
- 23:57Speaker 1: she ever did. The post continued saying he really thought
- 24:00Speaker 1: he could talk to her crazy, but forgot her besties
- 24:03Speaker 1: from the West and I don't let shit slide. She
- 24:06Speaker 1: then hashtagged it breakup humor. Now Sky replied to the
- 24:09Speaker 1: video writing, that's my girl. So I don't know what
- 24:12Speaker 1: has gone down since because They have now unfollowed each
- 24:15Speaker 1: other on socials. So I don't know what this means
- 24:18Speaker 1: for the future of their clothing brand. I mean, it's
- 24:20Speaker 1: really sad because they've been friends for a long time.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Not good timing. Now, back to the breakup. During the
- 24:26Speaker 1: podcast interview, Callum started talking about how the media has
- 24:30Speaker 1: really blown everything out of proportion and he couldn't believe
- 24:33Speaker 1: the reaction to the Instagram stories that Lockie shared of
- 24:36Speaker 1: him burning boxes on the couple's property. Now, these stories
- 24:39Speaker 1: were shot from Lockie's perspective at nighttime. So he was
- 24:42Speaker 1: at their property and And in the vision, he was
- 24:44Speaker 1: drinking whilst walking through the empty house. And he stopped
- 24:48Speaker 1: at the kitchen where there were a ton of boxes
- 24:50Speaker 1: stacked up. In the next Instagram story, he was then
- 24:53Speaker 1: outside dramatically setting fire to another lot of boxes. And
- 24:58Speaker 1: at the time, it was quite confusing because there was
- 25:00Speaker 1: no context as to what was in the boxes. And
- 25:03Speaker 1: he was blaring a love song in the background. So
- 25:06Speaker 1: many people wondered whether Skye's possessions were in those boxes
- 25:10Speaker 1: because it came off the back of her essentially accusing
- 25:13Speaker 1: him of cheating on her in her Instagram live, whilst
- 25:16Speaker 1: a lot of other people said, oh, it looks like
- 25:18Speaker 1: he's just doing a bit of a routine burn off.
- 25:20Speaker 1: We burn rubbish on our property from time to time.
- 25:23Speaker 1: But let's have a listen to what Callum said.
- 25:27Speaker 3: But like the media blows everything out of proportion. Oh
- 25:30Speaker 3: my God, there was a video of Lockie like putting
- 25:32Speaker 3: some cardboard on fire or some paper on fire and
- 25:34Speaker 3: all of a sudden like the world's ending and there's
- 25:36Speaker 3: like a full breakup and all this. I'm like, they've
- 25:38Speaker 3: probably just got junk and they need to burn because
- 25:40Speaker 3: they got so much shit in their renovations.
- 25:42Speaker 5: Yeah, we do, we do.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Now, I thought this was where Sky was going to
- 25:45Speaker 1: jump in and try to talk the Instagram stories down.
- 25:48Speaker 1: But instead she said this.
- 25:51Speaker 5: No, he was not burning my clothes on the fields.
- 25:54Speaker 5: They were probably.
- 25:55Speaker 4: Just your hair.
- 25:56Speaker 5: Probably just some wigs. He was like, fuck this pink one.
- 26:00Speaker 5: I don't like that color.
- 26:01Speaker 2: No, I don't.
- 26:02Speaker 5: But like the timing of it wasn't right. And I
- 26:05Speaker 5: don't know if he.
- 26:06Speaker 6: Knew that there was a lot of media watching our
- 26:09Speaker 6: profiles at the time. But I'm like, wow, your timing
- 26:13Speaker 6: was impeccable there.
- 26:15Speaker 5: Like that was good timing.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Now, we covered the story on our podcast and created
- 26:21Speaker 1: a subsequent reel off the back of what we said.
- 26:24Speaker 1: And in it, we said we found it quite disturbing
- 26:26Speaker 1: because it was unclear what he was burning and it
- 26:28Speaker 1: seemed to be off the back of Sky igniting cheating rumors. Now,
- 26:32Speaker 1: the comment section blew up and people were not happy
- 26:35Speaker 1: with what we said. People were sticking up for Lockie saying, oh,
- 26:37Speaker 1: it's ridiculous. He's just clearly doing a burn off on
- 26:40Speaker 1: his property like he normally does. It's interesting, though, that
- 26:43Speaker 1: Sky also thought it didn't look that innocent or that
- 26:46Speaker 1: the timing of it looked bad. Like, I felt a
- 26:48Speaker 1: bit more vindicated. Yeah, essentially she was saying that it
- 26:51Speaker 1: appeared like Lockie was trying to send some sort of message.
- 26:54Speaker 1: I mean, it really did. And the media tension around
- 26:56Speaker 1: this breakup has rattled Sky, and she said that going forward,
- 27:00Speaker 1: if they inevitably do break up, they'll most likely have
- 27:03Speaker 1: to go to court, whether it's over the kids or
- 27:05Speaker 1: the property. And she really is wondering whether she'll be
- 27:09Speaker 1: able to stand up the whole press attention and also
- 27:11Speaker 1: social media watching her every move, it really does sound
- 27:15Speaker 1: like they are just trying to be amicable at the
- 27:18Speaker 1: moment for obviously the sake of the kids, but more
- 27:20Speaker 1: so for the house and getting it finished. Because once
- 27:23Speaker 1: it's finished, I assume that they can work out whether
- 27:25Speaker 1: they want to sell it or not. Surely with Lockheed. Yeah,
- 27:28Speaker 1: but surely they can get people in to finish the
- 27:29Speaker 1: renovations off and live separately. Well, it seems like it's
- 27:32Speaker 1: a bit of a financial decision because there were reports
- 27:35Speaker 1: that recently that Lockie's shop fitting business went under, there
- 27:39Speaker 1: was some nasty court dispute. So perhaps they don't have
- 27:41Speaker 1: the money to finish off the rent. We'll get someone
- 27:43Speaker 1: else to finish off the renos for them. Well, the
- 27:45Speaker 1: renos have been dragging on for six years and I
- 27:47Speaker 1: wouldn't be surprised if it was another year or two
- 27:49Speaker 1: before they're done. Well, it doesn't seem to be good
- 27:51Speaker 1: for Skye's mental health because she said that while they're
- 27:54Speaker 1: eventually going to try and work things out, that she's
- 27:56Speaker 1: just not happy. She said in the past year, her
- 27:59Speaker 1: friends have said she doesn't seem like herself and that
- 28:01Speaker 1: her light has been dimmed. She said it's got to
- 28:04Speaker 1: the point where she doesn't want to get up in
- 28:05Speaker 1: the morning and film content or show up online because
- 28:08Speaker 1: she feels so sad and depressed and like it's all
- 28:11Speaker 1: too much. So she doesn't seem to be in a
- 28:12Speaker 1: very healthy mindset at the moment, which is very sad.
- 28:15Speaker 1: She also sent further mixed messages over the weekend when
- 28:19Speaker 1: she posted two conflicting TikTok videos. So in the first video,
- 28:24Speaker 1: Sky and Lockie appeared to be back together. They were
- 28:27Speaker 1: putting a bed together in one of their newly renovated rooms.
- 28:30Speaker 1: In saying that, there was a fair bit of arguing
- 28:33Speaker 1: in the video. Let's throw to a snippet of what
- 28:35Speaker 1: they said. No, but we fixed the corner thing.
- 28:39Speaker 4: Some things are better left unsaid. Okay.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Do you understand that?
- 28:42Speaker 6: Okay, see, see how you're speaking?
- 28:44Speaker 2: I'm just saying.
- 28:45Speaker 3: It's me. No, it's because.
- 28:47Speaker 1: The.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Approach, darling. But look how you're reacting.
- 28:50Speaker 1: No, I'm coming down to your level. Approach, you make
- 28:53Speaker 1: me feel like an idiot.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Unsaid.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Okay, see, it's giving attitude.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Giving a bit of attitude some things are better off why.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Don't you go babe you're so cute but don't don't
- 29:06Speaker 2: discuss with an agent any of the problems.
- 29:09Speaker 1: That's all you need to say okay okay let's make
- 29:13Speaker 1: the bed i found the whole thing really awkward because
- 29:16Speaker 1: it seemed like an attempt for sky to demonstrate to
- 29:19Speaker 1: her audience locky undermining her but i mean when you
- 29:22Speaker 1: are filming the content and uploading it, you have the
- 29:25Speaker 1: power to manipulate that video, how you see fit. If anything,
- 29:27Speaker 1: I actually felt a bit sorry for Lockie because she
- 29:30Speaker 1: was the one firing up at him. Following the little
- 29:33Speaker 1: spat that they had, they then jumped into bed together
- 29:36Speaker 1: and had a bit of a cuddle at the end
- 29:38Speaker 1: of the video. So it, very much looked like they
- 29:41Speaker 1: were back on. Well, Sky had to jump in the
- 29:43Speaker 1: comments and confirm that the video was pre-recorded before the
- 29:46Speaker 1: breakup and she was just sharing it now, which seems
- 29:49Speaker 1: a bit odd.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Well, because a couple of hours later, she posted another
- 29:53Speaker 1: TikTok miming to this. Now, the text on the video read,
- 30:01Speaker 1: is he cheating? And she then shared a hack of
- 30:03Speaker 1: how to check your partner's recently deleted conversation history on
- 30:07Speaker 1: their phone. She added, don't be naive, sis, with a
- 30:10Speaker 1: crying and melting face. Now, one follower called Belle wrote, girl,
- 30:14Speaker 1: are you trying to say something? And she responded saying, nah,
- 30:18Speaker 1: I just want me girly pops to be safe with
- 30:20Speaker 1: love hearts. I don't know if I believe that. It
- 30:22Speaker 1: seems very pointed. It was at this point when fellow
- 30:25Speaker 1: influencer Bella Messina entered the chat. So, Bella recently separated
- 30:30Speaker 1: from her husband, Adrian. They have two kids together and
- 30:34Speaker 1: she wrote, can vouch that this feature can be very helpful.
- 30:38Speaker 1: So that shone a little bit of light on what
- 30:40Speaker 1: has been going on behind the scenes with Bella and Adrian.
- 30:44Speaker 1: So much shade being thrown. If you were Lockie, you
- 30:46Speaker 1: would be so pissed off by this video because she's
- 30:49Speaker 1: trying to ignite cheating rumours once again. I mean, if
- 30:53Speaker 1: that was me and I was currently living with my
- 30:55Speaker 1: on and off again boyfriend that we have two kids with,
- 30:58Speaker 1: we're trying to put on happy faces for the kids
- 31:00Speaker 1: whilst doing a renovation, I don't think that putting that
- 31:03Speaker 1: information out there is going to make the situation any better,
- 31:06Speaker 1: is it? I wonder if she's taking a leaf out
- 31:08Speaker 1: of Tammy Hembrough's book and this is all just a
- 31:10Speaker 1: quest for engagement on TikTok. Well, it's definitely working because
- 31:13Speaker 1: everyone is very interested in it. Now, I think that
- 31:16Speaker 1: is all we have time for today. Thank you so
- 31:17Speaker 1: much for joining us for this episode. If you have
- 31:20Speaker 1: enjoyed it, could you please make sure you are subscribed
- 31:23Speaker 1: on Apple Podcasts and also Spotify? If you want to
- 31:26Speaker 1: hear more content from us, we drop a subscriber-only episode
- 31:29Speaker 1: every Thursday. It's called Outspoken Plus. You can listen to
- 31:33Speaker 1: that on Spotify and on Apple Podcasts. All the details
- 31:36Speaker 1: to subscribe are in the show notes. It's basically an
- 31:39Speaker 1: extension of this show where we chat even more about influences.
- 31:42Speaker 1: This episode was recorded on the traditional land of the
- 31:45Speaker 1: Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains. We pay respect to
