- 1:04Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Arise Women of God podcast.
- 1:08I'm your host, Tamara K.
- 1:10Anderson, and joining me today is Tiffany Fletcher, an amazing warrior of light on our advisory board.
- 1:18A few years ago, I was at a hardware store, and as I roamed the aisles, I lost my favorite pair of gloves.
- 1:24Let me explain.
- 1:25We had recently moved to Utah, and these gloves kept my fingers warm when it was freezing cold outside.
- 1:32They were like my favorite thing.
- 1:34And when I discovered them lost, I even rounded up some associates to help me try to find them.
- 1:40As this was going on, I was preparing to teach a Sunday school lesson on Luke chapter 15, where we talk about the parables of the lost sheep, the prodigal son, and the lost coin.
- 1:52And I had been mulling over those verses all week long.
- 1:57Finally, we found the gloves, and I was so excited and thankful to God for helping me find them.
- 2:04As I walked outside to the car, gloves in hand, the scriptures came to life for me.
- 2:09And what I'd been studying all week suddenly merged into a whisper in my mind and heart where God said, camera, you just spent 10 minutes looking for a 15 pair of gloves.
- 2:22Will you spend 10 minutes searching and blessing my lost sheep?
- 2:27Ooh.
- 2:28In that moment, that verse was not ancient history.
- 2:32It was God's voice teaching me to bring that story, that parable, into my life.
- 2:40God used the very verses I'd been marinating on to teach me his love for his children.
- 2:46He taught me I don't have to wait for a lightning bolt.
- 2:49He will use the verses I, I already have in my mind to answer questions I have in real life, even with lost gloves.
- 2:59In a hardware store.
- 3:00That experience only happened because I was marinating over those verses before the crisis hit.
- 3:05We've talked about this concept before on the podcast.
- 3:08While you let some ideas or verses, even one verse, settle while you go about your day, when you let any scriptural verse just sit with you, you're creating a space for God to speak back.
- 3:19As St.
- 3:20Augustine wisely said, when we PR speak to God, when we read scripture, God speaks to us.
- 3:29And so don't be surprised if sometimes God speaks to you through His Word.
- 3:35Through reading scriptures, it's like picking up the other end of a two way radio.
- 3:41So how do you find the right verse for a specific problem?
- 3:44Tiffany Fletcher is now going to share a practical strategy when you're looking for a scriptural shortcut on those days when you need an answer and you need it quickly.
- 3:54I, I find that when I, when I read scriptures with a question that the answer always comes and it's beautiful.
- 4:01Especially like scriptures, I, sometimes I'll just open up my Bible and I'll be like, okay, God, this is my question and I need you to answer this.
- 4:09And I'll just read and it, it's so strange that the answer will come.
- 4:13I mean, it's not strange, it's God, because that's how he speaks to us.
- 4:18If you're actually wondering what it feels like when a verse stops being ink and starts feeling like God's voice, let' dive into the road to emmaus from Luke 24.
- 4:30Two disciples were walking along completely discouraged.
- 4:33Their dreams had been shattered by the Savior's crucifixion, much like we feel when our own dreams have fallen apart.
- 4:43Jesus starts walking with them, but they don't recognize Him.
- 4:47And what does he do to help them?
- 4:49He doesn't perform a miracle or show them the scars in his hands right away.
- 4:54He opens the scriptures.
- 4:57He walked them through the law and the prophets, showing them how all of those ancient words pointed to Him.
- 5:05Later, after he vanished, they looked at each other and said, did not our heart burn within us while he talked with us, by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures.
- 5:20Hearing God's voice in scripture often feels exactly like that.
- 5:25A spiritual ignition.
- 5:27It's that internal heat or sudden aha moment when a verse you've read what feels like a hundred times suddenly feels like it was written that morning just for you.
- 5:41When you marinate in a verse, you are essentially walking the road to Emmaus, inviting Jesus to catch up with you and set your heart on fire with new understanding.
- 5:53One of my hacks to doing this is to right before I start reading my scriptures, inviting God's spirit to be with me so that I can learn something new or understand something or perhaps even take a verse one
- 6:07or two at a time so that I don't feel I have to read an entire chapter but instead just really focus on what does this verse mean to me today.
- 6:18So my friends, God does not want His Word to just stay on your nightstand.
- 6:22He wants it to walk with you as you go about your day.
- 6:25Whether you're looking for a lost love or a lost sense of purpose, he will use the verses you have planted in your heart to whisper the way forward.
- 6:35And with today's technology, it's easier than ever because often you can just hit play on Scripture verses on your phone and listen while you're going about your daily chores.
- 6:45However, God inspires you to dive into His Word.
- 6:48Follow those promptings things even one verse can make a difference.
- 6:52Remember, God knows you are worth finding and saving and he uses His Word to do it.
- 6:58To help you to continue or start marinating in God's Word, we want to give you our free Roadmap to Revelation PDF download.
- 7:06You can also listen to the accompanying Receiving Light and Revelation meditation for free on our website or by clicking the link below in the guide.
- 7:16I invite you to peek at Step Number four, the Record and Respond Rule.
- 7:22When a verse jumps out at you while you're doing the dishes or driving, write it down.
- 7:28Recording that God voice in a journal or maybe in the margin of your Scriptures helps to teach you God's frequency and how he speaks to you.
- 7:37Also, check out Step five, the Scripture Check to learn how to filter your own thoughts against the eternal truths found in God's Word as we wrap up today.
- 7:48Remember, God loves you.
- 7:50He loves his sheep.
- 7:51Whether you're a prodigal or you're walking the path, he runs to you and wants to help you find him in His Word.
- 7:59Until next time, May you arise.
- 8:01Do it God's way.
- 8:02God strong.
