- 0:11SPEAKER_05: And we're here with Shauna and Danielle, owners of the DOS House.
- 0:16SPEAKER_05: But we're not here to talk about DOS House.
- 0:18SPEAKER_05: We're here to talk about creeping it real.
- 0:21SPEAKER_05: So Creeping Real Festival coming up next month, creeping up us on us fast.
- 0:26SPEAKER_05: So and we're gonna talk about all her guests coming up, what it takes to do a Paracon, because I can't imagine what it takes.
- 0:36SPEAKER_05: She's shaking her head.
- 0:41SPEAKER_05: Welcome to the show, both of you.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much.
- 0:45SPEAKER_05: So I mean we'll start a little bit with the DOS house.
- 0:48SPEAKER_05: So you guys have the DOS house.
- 0:51SPEAKER_05: It's going pretty good.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: It seems like you guys are it's it's doing really well, actually.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: Just chalking along, doing doing the things, people coming to figure out the ghosty situation, and you know, I'm not sure.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Not Nacho, it's hard to impress him with much of anything.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: So, you know, but I think he likes the DOS house.
- 1:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I love it.
- 1:16SPEAKER_05: I actually haven't met anybody that hasn't liked the DOS house.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's a good time, it's definitely fulfilling its purpose for sure.
- 1:23SPEAKER_05: I mean, you're on a show, what it was a while a while ago.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: The most recent one was uh Selena Myers, Selena Spooky Boo on Haunted Estates.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Uh, we got the season finale of her um show on Tubi, and it was awesome.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Like that was pretty awesome.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Couple others, Ryan Cavaline actually uh featured us in one of his DVDs that people will will be able to get at the festival.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, lots.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: I mean, you Google, you know, Google University, you put in the DOS house, you're gonna see all different levels and layers of things.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: So yeah, we're super excited.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: It's doing really well.
- 2:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I mean, it's a great house.
- 2:02SPEAKER_05: I mean, Travis, you've never been there, have you?
- 2:05SPEAKER_02: No, we haven't.
- 2:06SPEAKER_05: No, not yet.
- 2:06SPEAKER_05: But I mean, not obviously.
- 2:07SPEAKER_05: We gotta fix that.
- 2:08SPEAKER_05: Yeah, man.
- 2:09SPEAKER_05: I've been there twice.
- 2:10SPEAKER_03: You gotta fix that.
- 2:13SPEAKER_05: I mean, I have my free one this year still, because I bought one last year, and I don't know if I have time to use it.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: So oh, there's always time for free ones.
- 2:22SPEAKER_05: Oh, trust me.
- 2:23SPEAKER_05: I don't I don't know.
- 2:24SPEAKER_05: I didn't know that.
- 2:28SPEAKER_05: Maybe Travis can use it.
- 2:31SPEAKER_05: I'll go with him.
- 2:32SPEAKER_05: Um, I mean, but you're talking like history.
- 2:36SPEAKER_05: You walk up to that place, you can see it's old.
- 2:38SPEAKER_05: And then you walk in that place and you just feel that energy.
- 2:41SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and it's just it's not a huge house, but it does pack a lot of punch.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: It's it does.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: I agree with that.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Um, we've also like recently learned like the house kind of and I there's a couple of things that I've heard of like this, that basically the that the house responds to the energy that comes in, whether it's a fearful energy, an unfearful energy, uh, just super happy to be there and excited, and it's becoming one of those types of places.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: If and if you come in there like, yeah, we ain't gonna get nothing, then more than likely you're not.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know about you, but when you show up to a party, if nobody's participating, you're not participating either.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: So that's kind of like the vibe that we've been getting lately.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: That and people come into the house and want to see things flying off the walls at their heads, like we found that to be like the most recent.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Um I wouldn't say disappointment, but they're expecting, you know, because there's some videos out there like the demon house, or you know, exercise.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: I don't I don't even know.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: And so they expect this deep dark place, and it's nothing like that at all.
- 3:56SPEAKER_05: No, I mean, I don't think you have anything dark in that place.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's definitely very high and low vibrational, but nothing that's gonna hurt anybody, nothing, no, yeah, no, nothing like that.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: We we don't believe either.
- 4:09SPEAKER_05: No, and Nacho, you can chime in on this too.
- 4:12SPEAKER_05: Well, you know, stop with the DOS house, but we got on this topic, so you got the barbershop and you got the upstairs.
- 4:21SPEAKER_05: What do you think is the most like active between those two?
- 4:24SPEAKER_03: Walk up the ramp behind me while I was going alive, and people were seeing it behind me.
- 4:30SPEAKER_03: I did not see it, I did not.
- 4:33SPEAKER_03: But they're like, Oh, there is something behind you, and we heard it walk right up the right up the ramp.
- 4:39SPEAKER_03: That mirror in front of the the barber's chair, uh it it gives me the creeps.
- 4:46SPEAKER_03: Um I but it it makes it always leaves me wanting more.
- 4:52SPEAKER_03: I I haven't spent a lot of time upstairs because I for whatever reason I've just been and and the house isn't that big that I don't have time to do it, but um, I think when we've gone, we've gone with enough people that it just never worked out that I really went up there because everybody else is up there and I don't want to be where everybody else is at.
- 5:10SPEAKER_03: Um but I spent a lot of stuff, a lot of time there and in the basement.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 5:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: Up upstairs is interesting.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: You definitely gotta, you definitely gotta get up there.
- 5:23SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I mean, I get I sent you that email a while ago about what I got the first time I was there.
- 5:29SPEAKER_05: About the name that I got.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 5:33SPEAKER_05: I mean, that's probably the first time ever in my 19 years that I got a full name and it actually matched up with the city.
- 5:44SPEAKER_05: All right, let's talk creep it real.
- 5:46SPEAKER_05: So this is your second second year.
- 5:49SPEAKER_05: Second year.
- 5:50SPEAKER_05: Let's go back to the beginning.
- 5:51SPEAKER_05: How did this start?
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: Man, well, it started with a little teeny tiny idea.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: So uh my mom, even though she loved the paranormal, it it was like it was her hobby for sure.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: It was her second home away from home.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: She loved her paranormal people more than a lot of her friends or family, uh, for sure.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: Um, but she also loved community and giving back to the community.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: She, the town that she lived in, Kane, Pennsylvania, and the town she lived in prior to that Downingtown.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: Um, she was constantly working for the community, donating funds to help, helping people in need, um, victims.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: There was a family out in Downytown that they had a house fire.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: She, you know, constantly rallied for stuff like that.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: So it was an idea to bring the two together, paranormal and the community.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: And it started off as I was just gonna have a couple, couple guests, couple vendors, at the DOS house.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: And then I was like, oh, there's a community center across the road.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: You know, we can make it a little bit bigger, get you know, some of mom's closer friends out here, and it was contented with that until it wasn't.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: And then we ended up at the old stone jail, and it was great.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: Everybody had a great time.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: Of course, it was the first year, so it wasn't like a big, huge money-making thing for everybody, but to me, that's not what it was about.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: It was about bringing everybody together to have a positive experience, uh, raise some funds for charity and the community, and it 100% did that, and everybody raved about it.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: So after that, I I was fulfilled with that.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: I was good with hanging it up and chalking it off the board and you know, moving on to the next thing, such as like we were gonna do like sneakers and backpacks for kids for school, free haircuts for kids in the barber shop, like lots of other little ways to give back to the community rather than one big event, because this took up six months of my life, and I was really the only one doing most of anything.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Um, and then with it getting moved last minute, um, I was like, oh no, like I'm gonna get divorced, I'm gonna I never get to see my wife.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: Like, it was bad.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, a lot of my friends too.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: Like, I you just that's what you go into when you want to do something right and make sure everybody involved is happy and everything's covered, and so I was okay with hanging it up until the community and the owner of the jail basically begged me to do it again, you know.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: Uh everybody, you know, giving me their word they were gonna help, and because I I looked at them all flat out and I said, I cannot and I will not do it alone again.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: And so we signed up and we started uh chucking along and planning for this year, and it is bigger.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: And oh man, I think we had like 25 vendors last year, and we're at almost 80 this year.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: Big lineup for people to come out and and meet all the celebrity guests, still 100% free for the for the community to come.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: That was something I was not willing to give in on because that was important um to me, and I knew it would be to my mom.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: But again, I'm doing most of this on my own again.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: So um, you know, I've had a lot of help from our friends Courtney and Sean.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: They have really um pulled up the you know the sides for me and really supported me um, you know, with all the reels and the advertisements.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: They've been helping me do that.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: Um, my friend Ashley from uh Spirits Anonymous Paranormal, her and Mike have been helping me promote, you know, getting us hooked up with the newspaper and the news stations to help get the exposure.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: So, you know, things like little things like that, but it's it's a lot of work, it's nonstop, pushing and posting things.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: I think that's been the most difficult thing is having all of these events and all of these people coming in and making sure the people know about it, on top of you know, placing vendors and doing vending assignments and getting sponsors to pay for the celebrity guests to come in and you know, accommodating them with their overnight stays and like all of that stuff is on me.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: So pick ups from the airport, take backs to the airport.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like there's just a lot of behind the scenes things that go on that a lot of people don't know about what it actually entails.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Uh putting the putting a festival like this, and this is just a festival, this isn't a big, huge, you know, thousands of dollars paracon.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: Like this is just a little festival and a little jail in little old Evansburg.
- 10:28SPEAKER_05: But yeah, we're you can say that it's a paracon.
- 10:33SPEAKER_05: I mean, you can I mean it is.
- 10:36SPEAKER_05: You have great guests coming, you have vendors, yeah.
- 10:40SPEAKER_05: It's a paracon.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: I guess they kind of look at it like you know, like Maine is huge, ISS is huge, like because they're huge facilities.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: You look possibly, yeah, maybe yeah.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: They have the space to make it huge, but yeah ultimately for years, yeah.
- 11:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:02SPEAKER_03: I mean look at look at how much you've grown in one year.
- 11:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:06SPEAKER_03: Imagine if you've done this 10 years, what you're gonna have not not saying that you're going to or you should, but if you continue to do it, it's gonna continue to grow exponentially every year.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, unfortunately, definitely not be at the jail.
- 11:21SPEAKER_03: That's no, no, yeah, right.
- 11:24SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's that's the nature of the beast, but by default, people love you guys.
- 11:29SPEAKER_03: I mean, you just heard Deborah Warfare.
- 11:31SPEAKER_03: I love those everybody that meets you loves you guys, and it just you just overflow with it.
- 11:39SPEAKER_03: And that's that's how these these things just continue to snowball.
- 11:43SPEAKER_03: And if you really wanted it, that's what would happen.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I appreciate you saying that.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, people do love.
- 11:55SPEAKER_05: I think you see a lot of characters out there, you know.
- 11:57SPEAKER_05: A couple are canceling now.
- 11:59SPEAKER_05: I've seen that on Facebook.
- 12:00SPEAKER_05: I I have seen that vendors.
- 12:03SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 12:03SPEAKER_05: They can't get the but then you have other ones that are thriving.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: So I think if you stick with it, that's the key right there, because you know, up until the last three months, we had half the vendors we have now.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: It's you know, when they get close, or or at the beginning of the year when they're planning for they're planning for their year, unless you're hitting the right pages and the then the right correct vendor pages and all surrounding states.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: That's seems to be the biggest problem that I have noticed with a lot of events is that I this is kind of my job.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: So I have the time to sit at home and spend five or six hours a day, a couple times a week, promoting and reaching out and putting up, you know, the applications, and just that's what it takes.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: Getting it out to the people every day, all day long, in hopes that they see it or comment, or you know, because then you run into the problem of, oh, well, I would like to be a part of this, but where is this?
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: You didn't mention what city, like you can't make everybody happy, you know what I mean?
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: So um that it's that's honestly uh, in my opinion, the fail or success uh avenue is how much time you're actually putting in to networking your event.
- 13:22SPEAKER_05: I mean, that's with everything.
- 13:23SPEAKER_05: I mean, notch you know's like podcasts too are the same way, yeah.
- 13:26SPEAKER_05: Like networking is the biggest thing to do.
- 13:30SPEAKER_05: But I see that because I get invited to some paracons, I get emails like once a week.
- 13:34SPEAKER_05: Hey, come to my Paracon, be a vendor or be a podcaster.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, cool.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: Well, and that's it, too.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: People offering to allow people like us to promote come on and promote it, like that.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: You guys are just as poor as important as anybody, like you this is the best way to get the word out as well.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: I mean, of course, we love y'all, but so we would just come on here just to hang out and BS, anyways.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: But you know, and I don't see a lot of that happening much either.
- 14:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I mean, it's hard.
- 14:05SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's like you said, like you say creep it real.
- 14:08SPEAKER_05: I mean, and your logo says where you're at.
- 14:11SPEAKER_05: Let's be honest.
- 14:12SPEAKER_05: It's uh I mean and I've seen other ones like people message me, I have no idea where they're at.
- 14:17SPEAKER_05: They're like, Oh, out in Utah, like no, like sorry, I appreciate it.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 14:26SPEAKER_05: I'm like, hey, next year I'm game.
- 14:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah, um I look at yours and I'm like, uh, it's my anniversary weekend.
- 14:35SPEAKER_05: Talk about divorce.
- 14:37SPEAKER_05: There you go.
- 14:40SPEAKER_04: I mean, bring her with you.
- 14:43SPEAKER_04: It's very romantic.
- 14:45SPEAKER_04: You know that whole story.
- 14:50SPEAKER_01: Uh around the festival with other things involved.
- 14:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that ain't happening.
- 14:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah, or to other things like uh so like you're talking like how much time you put into it.
- 15:08SPEAKER_05: I mean, people don't understand how much time it takes to do anything.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: And I mean for the law the last six months of my life, this is consumed every day, almost all day.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: A couple trips here and there we've been able to get in.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: Um, I kind of put things off a little bit this year to start the jump just because of how things, you know, I saw how things patterned last year um to kind of set more time aside for us to actually go do some investigating, go do some.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: We did an EnigmaCon at St.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: Albans.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: Like literally last year for almost eight months.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: I did not have a life.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: We did nothing for ourselves, zero.
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, barely even talked.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Well, and because it was about the festival or all of the stuff that she was trying to do and accomplish, and just like the craziness of the whole you know, situation.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: That's basically what yeah life was for eight months.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: So this year I I've squeezed it down to like five.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: Like five.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'll take that and a half.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: I'll take that.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: But yeah, like now's crunch time.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: So that's why this weekend she was off on Saturday.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: I zipped out here so we could spend a little bit of time together.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: Because once I go back, it's game on.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: It's it's no rest.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: It's you know, getting the jail cleaned and doing the in all the personalized things that I do, you know, um, everybody's ID tags, kind of like how Pennhurst does their little hanging tags, making sure all of those are done and assigned to everybody's pamphlets.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: And, you know, I give uh itineraries to all the guests, and which and they loved that last year.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: It was the first time they'd ever experienced anything like that.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: So putting all those little personal things in that matter to me that I know would be important to my mom, that's what these next two and a half, almost three weeks are gonna be.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: And getting the DOS house cleaned up and making sure the jail is where it's supposed to be to be um ready for all the vendors and all the people to come through there, and everything's good and safe, and everybody has a great time.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: And you know, all in one day it's gonna be like a like a like a wedding, just like a wedding.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: All this time, this money, all of this preparation, and all this craziness, and you don't even remember the day, and now it's over.
- 17:27SPEAKER_05: That's kind of what it reminds me of, Danielle, it's like a wedding.
- 17:30SPEAKER_05: You put six, seven months into it, right?
- 17:34SPEAKER_05: Exactly.
- 17:35SPEAKER_05: Drink a bottle of bourbon and it's over, right?
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: And next thing you're like, wow, I think Sally even there.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: I have to disagree.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: Well, that was last year, but I have to disagree because after we're I met so many amazing people I would have never came across, you know, the networking and the people that I have met, like that is I think you learned something very important from last year's though, too, because because you you we did say it was so busy and you were being pulled and you felt like gumby, which I get that.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: So I think she learned a very important part going into this year's is that the we're doing the stuff, the few people that she that she can trust in, you know, she has delegated them doing certain jobs so that way she doesn't have to do all 200 of them.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: So she can actually remember the people she wants to and that we get to see and the people that we get to meet, experience some of the events.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Like I am stoked about the Jason Voorhees event at the DOS house on Friday night, not paranormal related, it's horror-themed related, and right up my alley, like I am ready to get the crap scared out of me.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: Like, I am 100% doing that.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: And who doesn't want to do an escape room with freaking Jason Voorhees chasing you around?
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: That's trying to find you, Eleanor.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: Like that's gonna be fun.
- 19:03SPEAKER_05: So, yeah, is that how you say his name?
- 19:06SPEAKER_05: Jason, Jason Voorhees, of course.
- 19:09SPEAKER_05: He's coming on the show.
- 19:10SPEAKER_05: I have no idea how to say his last name, so that's good.
- 19:13SPEAKER_05: Say that down now.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: Well, it's yeah, James Stokes is his real name.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, James Stokes, okay.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and he plays Jason Borhees.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: Uh he's like a secondary for for Jason Voorhees stuff.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: Okay, um, like he he was like the in, I think it was actually titled Voorhees.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: Um, so he's actually he has like the whole legit setup, the mask, the outfit, like and so we had to like plan things around because he can only wear this thing for about 30 minutes at a time.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: Um, so it's I'm geeked about him too.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: Hollywood is coming to the dust.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: Man, it's gonna be so much fun.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: Patty, of course, Patty Negri is one of the most wonderful humans I've ever met on this planet.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: Agreed.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: And I don't even like humans, yeah.
- 19:58SPEAKER_02: She uh I agree with you.
- 20:02SPEAKER_02: I agree.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so many cool people.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: I'm humbled that everybody's, you know, willing to come out and support this and you know, honor my mom first and foremost, and to give to the community and help charity.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: It's humbling, and I think it's pretty awesome.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: All these little vendors, all these local little vendors with all of their handmade stuff and stuff that they put so much time and effort and money into.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, getting it out there and letting people see what they have.
- 20:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah, let's talk vendors a little bit because that's a big, huge, important thing of paracons.
- 20:38SPEAKER_05: Oh sorry, festivals, if you want to call it.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: Well, we can go with paracon, Ryan.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: It's fine.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: Festival.
- 20:47SPEAKER_04: We have a parafestival.
- 20:49SPEAKER_04: There it is.
- 20:50SPEAKER_04: There you go.
- 20:50SPEAKER_04: New word parafestival.
- 20:52SPEAKER_04: Like it's just not all paranormal.
- 20:54SPEAKER_04: No, we have a whole variety of vendors, huge variety.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: So I pushed for non-paranormal vendors, to be honest with you.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: Um, because the the highlighted guests and people that were really close to my mom, that was the paranormal side.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: The community part was the was the vendors.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: Of course, it's for everyone.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: Um, but that was important to me for you know, locals that you know go to your typical craft fairs or you know, the little the the vending things that they have at the high schools, or somebody who's just trying to be creative and launch something for the first time.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: Um, and we we limit it to two like vendors.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: Um, some vendors don't want any other like vendors, but because this is for everybody, we limit it to two like buttons, two like vendors.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: Um, and that seems has seemed to work out really well.
- 21:50SPEAKER_05: What type of vendors are you talking?
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: Oh man, we have we have jewelry makers and candle makers and bread makers.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: And cookie makers and dog treats.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: Uh 3D printers and custom t-shirt makers.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, it's like on-demand t-shirts, on-demand woodworking, dog treats, homemade dog treats, homemade dog treats.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: Oh, there's so many.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: And then you have like your oddities.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: I think outside of our guests.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: Oh, we have a woodworker this year.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so I said a woodworker.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: On-demand woodworker.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: I'm super excited about that.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: Um, outside of our paranormal guests, we have one other uh psychic medium guest.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to think, man.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: So there's just so many things.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: Um keeping track of like 80 of them.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: Um, like I said, hats, t-shirts, cups.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: Candles.
- 22:45SPEAKER_03: There's somebody making candles.
- 22:46unknown: Yes.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, we definitely got candles, tart burners, things like that.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: Crochet artists.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: Crochet artists.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: Um, well.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: Um, homemade um the people that do the honey from the there's a local honey farm.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: So it's like real raw, you know, honey.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: Um, they and they make candles, and then they have their like lavender honey, sunflower, like amazing, amazing stuff.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: By their hand, um and then we have two awesome uh snack and drink vendor, um, the coffin bean, amazing people.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: They're actually going to feature a signature drink this year in honor of my mom.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: So we're super excited.
- 23:26SPEAKER_00: They they're the ones that pull up in the hearse, they have the little the little thing behind, and now their friends have the treat one like it.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: So it's like cookies and treats and all that stuff being pulled by their hearse.
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: So, you know, super cool.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: Um, barbecue, uh, Kona ice will be there again this year.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: Um, what is the barbecue?
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: I can't remember his name off chance off the top of my head.
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: Um, and then the other one is like hamburgers, sausages, how do you say halushki?
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: Halooski.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: Halooski?
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: Halooski, yeah.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm I'm a Michigander, that's new for me.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: So I had to have you eaten it yet?
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: Oh, yes.
- 24:05SPEAKER_03: I'm a huge, you should be able to say it.
- 24:08SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's it.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: All I know is I shouldn't eat it unless I'm three seconds from the bathroom.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: Because then we are in big trouble in the June summer sun.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's that's a whole lot of butter.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be bad for everybody involved.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: He's learned so many things here in Pennsylvania.
- 24:29SPEAKER_00: Pugat and stick with the I didn't even know.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: There's gonna be so many cool things.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: So yeah, um, yeah, huge, huge variety, and awesome people like your vote, like yourself, paranormal teams, awesome workshops.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, the most recent thing, Mary Jo Chudley.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: I did not know that she was very good friends with my mother.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: This actually, like, I had a meltdown over this, so I had seen that she's been doing these workshops, and I just sporadically reached out to her, told her who I was, and she was like, Oh my god, Shauna, I've been wanting to reach out to you for so long.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: Um, but I didn't want to offend you, like, you know, about your mom, and her and I were very close.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: And she actually hired me to create one of my very first dolls that she put out, and I was like, Wow, like that's crazy to me.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: And it just so happened that this doll that always creeped me out that was in my mom's room, that I was like, when my mom passed away that day, like we were, you know, gathering up all of our things, and this doll was there, and my friend Beth was like, Well, aren't your mom loved this doll?
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: Are you gonna I was like, No, but please take it.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: So, and she did, luckily, because and then so now after talking to Mary Joe, and we've become very good friends.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: Um, she is actually holding a workshop at the festival to no profit gain to herself.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: Of course, this is just for supplies, only to recreate that doll that she made for my mom uh five years ago.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: So super excited about that.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: Who is she?
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: Because that name sounds familiar.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: Is the doll company that she has.
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: Um, she she's done uh the orphanage in Gettysburg, she's done a lot.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: She was just at the family hotel this past.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: She's done a lot of events at all places.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: Her talent is absolutely incredible.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that name sounds familiar.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: And she has actually designed a doll specifically for the DOS house, Bella.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: And she will be being revealed at the festival.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: And let me just tell you, Nacho, this doll is creepy as yet.
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: Oh boy, why not?
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: Yes, you should.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: Oh I'll show you.
- 26:46SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: See, cool.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: What system against dolls?
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: If I could oh, you're not gonna be impressed with our next news, then.
- 27:01SPEAKER_02: So the reason why that was made is uh a member or my co-founder and everything, uh Justin, he's terrified of dolls.
- 27:11unknown: Terrified.
- 27:22SPEAKER_00: Hundreds upon hundreds of dolls.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: And they some of them are, you know, some of them stayed in the DOS house, some of them are slowly starting to make their way back into the DOS house.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: Um, but the most majority of them have been in storage in our basement.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: And I told Danielle, I'm like, because she's there's certain dolls that I'm okay with, and there's a lot of dolls that I'm like, oh, hell to the no that is not coming in here because she seems she's the person that everybody brings the really creepy dolls to and says, here, take this.
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: Yes, and then they end up at my house.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, dolls that cause issues, or and a lot of the dolls that were in the DOS, tons of very unique ones, um, but a lot of super old, creepy ones.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: So Bertie was one of DOS's children, and she was, you know, mental, very mentally delayed, and she was the last owner of the home.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: Um, and dolls made her feel good.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: She was a child, like she had child mentality, so this was her comfort area.
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: Um, we had to throw a lot of the dolls away, but still had several hundreds of these dolls.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: So uh for the festival, which hasn't been announced yet, uh, we have put together a doll museum um of these hundreds of dolls.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: Um so no marching with your t-shirt outside the museum.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: Um we figured it was it's a dollar to enter, and every dollar that somebody walks through those those doors that goes straight to Santiago for high nation.
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: Um that's amazing.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we were it was like something I was like, we could do something good with these creepy freaking things.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: Um, and put together they get to have a day out.
- 29:10SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, and yeah.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: Um, and there's a lot of them um that are gonna be looking for new homes.
- 29:18SPEAKER_05: So tell tell me about Santiago, the chair.
- 29:21SPEAKER_02: I can I I can get you an address where uh someone will be thrilled to have them.
- 29:26SPEAKER_02: Oh man, there's so many of them.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: There's so many.
- 29:29SPEAKER_00: Um, so Santiago Cerillo, um he's always just been Santiago to me.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: Um, but he's pretty well known in the acting community.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: Um he was in uh what is it, The Walking Dead.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: Um, he just did a feature movie called The Heart of a Drum Horse.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: Um, he's doing another couple new, you know, horror type films.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: Um but what I respect and love about him the most is the charity work that he does, um, the which is the the production company that he runs, um, and everything is for mental health awareness, anti-bullying, um, you know, basically just standing mental health awareness, just yeah, all of those types of things.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: And my mother and him were very close.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: He's actually going to be speaking this year um at the 333 memorial that we have, talking about the relationship that he had with my mother and how she actually helped him through some of his lowest points dealing with mental health.
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: Um, so very awesome, very obnoxious man, but I love him with all of my heart and soul.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: Um, he is an incredible, incredible human.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: So that is why this year, especially High Nation is our charity of choice.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: And of course, we did things last year to raise funds for his charity as well.
- 30:49SPEAKER_00: Um, we auctioned off a few things.
- 30:51SPEAKER_00: Um again, this year, everybody will have the bank, the blanket banners that we had last year.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: Um, not sure if you guys saw, but we've we displayed them all over the bullpen in the jail.
- 31:02SPEAKER_00: There's so many more this year.
- 31:04SPEAKER_00: Um, like Nacho is gonna have one outside of his booth for his podcast.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: Um, a couple uh teams that have sponsored the events, they're having the 30 by 40 blankets, all of our celebrity guests.
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: So, on top of everything else for charity, um, at the end of the day, all of our guests will be autographing all of those, and those will also be auctioned off, and 100% of those proceeds will go to charity as well.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: Um, whatever doesn't sell for charity will be donated to the local ASPCA.
- 31:34SPEAKER_05: Okay, I mean a lot of people don't know this, a lot of paracons, some paracons, I can't say a lot because I haven't been to any yet.
- 31:41SPEAKER_05: We'll be there soon.
- 31:42SPEAKER_05: It's it's about charity.
- 31:44SPEAKER_05: I mean, that's you know, a lot of us that's what we're in for.
- 31:48SPEAKER_05: Hopefully, we can get enough where we start donating more to charity.
- 31:52SPEAKER_05: I know that's what I want to do.
- 31:54SPEAKER_05: Yeah, again, I don't care about making money.
- 31:57SPEAKER_05: I like to break even one day, which will never happen, but I'd love to break even one day.
- 32:01SPEAKER_05: I mean, that five dollars on Facebook is helping.
- 32:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, see, I mean, that's a gallon of gas right now.
- 32:10SPEAKER_05: I have a 93 in my car.
- 32:12SPEAKER_03: So a minute ago it was six dollars.
- 32:15SPEAKER_03: What happened?
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: Um I have a 3500 HD pickup.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: I'm almost riding the shoelace express.
- 32:24SPEAKER_02: Diesel, I got diesel and I'm paying uh$650 right now.
- 32:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it hurts.
- 32:31SPEAKER_04: It hurts.
- 32:32SPEAKER_05: It's about charity, it's about giving back to the community, not even paranormal community, it doesn't matter what community.
- 32:38SPEAKER_05: I mean, we're doing Grace House.
- 32:40SPEAKER_05: I mean, I know Nacho's doing a little gift basket for Cleveland Paracon.
- 32:44SPEAKER_05: I don't know what they have yet.
- 32:45SPEAKER_05: They haven't, I mean, I've been throwing mine out there because I'm getting a lot, but you know, I think I have two gift baskets now.
- 32:53SPEAKER_05: But I mean, it's just it doesn't matter, it's all about making enough money to donate to a good cause.
- 33:01SPEAKER_00: Well, and for us, like the give back is actually coming from the community because basically the community and the vending is what has paid for all the guests to come.
- 33:12SPEAKER_00: Um that is very, very, very, very expensive.
- 33:16SPEAKER_00: Dave, the owner of the old stone jail, is generous enough.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: He, you know, charge is his for us to be there is next to nothing.
- 33:24SPEAKER_00: Um, because that's his way of giving back as well.
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: So with all of those things in alignment, that's how we're able to basically, you know, use the funds from the vendors to get the celebrity guests here, have these events.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: The celebrities, they they get their ticket money and they choose with it what they want.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: They can either put it in their pocket or 90% of the time they donate it back to the cause.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: So, you know, showing that you're true to what your mission is and following through rather than just saying this is what you're doing is I think what sets you apart from everybody else.
- 34:02SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 34:02SPEAKER_05: And you you said right there, like I don't know everybody on here is in the paranormal community, but you know, some people that are outside the paranormal community little black shadow on us.
- 34:12SPEAKER_05: Oh guest, donate it back is unbelievable.
- 34:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:20SPEAKER_05: Because it's not about them.
- 34:21SPEAKER_05: And that's what we're supposed to be about.
- 34:23SPEAKER_05: It's never it should never be about us.
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 34:26SPEAKER_05: It should be about what we investigate, that's why we're there.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:30SPEAKER_05: And again, outside of us, charities.
- 34:34SPEAKER_00: 100%.
