- 0:10Hello, America. Welcome to the Junto Podcast, where we promote the practical
- 0:15applications of critical thinking and bold creativity.
- 0:18I am your host, Edgar Mills. Thanks for joining.
- 0:29Hello, America. Welcome to episode 29 of the JUTO podcast.
- 0:34Thank you for staying with me. So what are we talking about today?
- 0:38Yep. Crazy topic. Crazy topic.
- 0:42It's in many of our lives, as we'll see here as we go. And it's very complex. Pornography.
- 0:51Yeah. Pornography is a, It's pervasive in our world,
- 0:58And generally it's frowned upon by Some sections of society and,
- 1:04Celebrated by others But what I'm trying to do here This is neither an endorsement
- 1:09or indictment I'm just trying to bring some objective perspective To see what To see,
- 1:17you know, try to parse it out a little bit I don't know, I'm trying to exercise
- 1:21a little critical thinking while still maintaining what I consider to be some
- 1:25faith and all kinds of things like that.
- 1:29So again, as with everything I do and talk about,
- 1:33I want you to think about these things as they affect your life and without
- 1:39judgment and without moral judgment or any personal judgment,
- 1:45just be objective about the way you look at it.
- 1:47So man, pornography, That's a big one There's a lot of stuff going on,
- 1:54Pornography has been around since I don't know In my studies What I'm finding
- 1:59here Is at least 35,000 years.
- 2:05Yeah, 35,000 years, there's artifacts depicting some form of sensual, sexual behavior.
- 2:16And we know that the ancient Greeks and Romans and Mesopotamian and all those,
- 2:23there's a lot of, especially in art, right?
- 2:27Well, and we'll discuss here later on the fine line between art and porn,
- 2:32but yeah, it's been around.
- 2:34It's been around for a long time As it progressed, as history Kind of went on,
- 2:40You know, we had to end the.
- 2:43In the Renaissance periods, and when painting and oil painting started becoming
- 2:48a thing, and as artists, I don't know, grew and developed, more and more explicit
- 2:56material was coming out.
- 2:58And what was explicit for the times anyway, but sometimes very explicit,
- 3:02you know, sometimes very explicit.
- 3:04And then photography came along. Oh, man.
- 3:08When photography came along, it got crazy, right?
- 3:13You started seeing pictures of old-school prostitutes and madams.
- 3:20And never mind film. Never mind film.
- 3:23It's been around. It's been around for a long time. And then,
- 3:27oh my God, here we are. Well, let's talk about the 20th century.
- 3:31When video came around, there's probably the very first films to be filmed were probably explicit.
- 3:40And some of them are out there. Some of them have been have been remastered
- 3:44and preserved and stuff like that.
- 3:46But what what happened?
- 3:49There was there was a thing in the 60s and 70s. They call it the sexual revolution, right?
- 3:54In 1972, the film Deep Throat. Now, many people may not know know about that, but that was.
- 4:02Maybe the first pornographic film to be released in mainstream theaters and.
- 4:11Then it went crazy from there. And then VHS came along. Then in the mid-90s,
- 4:18we had the internet came along. Yep, the internet.
- 4:23And nowadays, I mean, there isn't a pornographic subject or category that can't be explored.
- 4:34Yeah, it's out there. It's everywhere. For good or bad. For good or bad. It's out there.
- 4:40So first, I'm going to explore what are some of the benefits of consuming pornography.
- 4:47Now, I'm not trying to alienate. I'm sure a lot of my listeners are Christians.
- 4:53I'm not trying to alienate you. Stay with me. Stay with me.
- 4:57But you're going to hear a few key words throughout this, all right?
- 5:00Moderate use of pornography for, you know, spicing up the bedroom or whatnot.
- 5:07Yeah, moderate use. You can, you and your wife or husband, you can spice it up.
- 5:13And if you're a moderate person, and if you're a sane and stable human,
- 5:19you can enjoy it for what it is.
- 5:22It's just sort of visual stimulus.
- 5:25It's okay.
- 5:28And there's so much out there to choose from that, you know,
- 5:32there's pornography that targets couples.
- 5:36There's very romantic depictions of things. Now, I don't want to get a lot into
- 5:40content because there's something, you know, it's all out there.
- 5:45But, you know, if you're kind of chubby, you know, and you're looking at some
- 5:49chubby porn, and you're like, oh, yeah, well, you can, body acceptance is what
- 5:56I'm getting about, right?
- 5:58You start to see that there's other humans out there like you enjoying things
- 6:02like sex. You don't have to be a recluse or whatever.
- 6:07What else? I mean, stress relief. Yeah.
- 6:12Sometimes you just rub one out and that's relaxing. So there are some benefits.
- 6:21And now how deep do those benefits go? We don't know. Let's see.
- 6:25I'd say that if you and your wife, you and your lover, you and your husband,
- 6:31you explore a little bit in the bedroom, you know, try some new things.
- 6:37In a healthy way, try some new things.
- 6:40It might help you open up the conversation a little bit where you might have
- 6:44been embarrassed to talk about a thing.
- 6:46You know, you watch it on the video there, and you're like, oh,
- 6:50what do you think about that? And it might open it up a little bit.
- 6:53And there are some surveys out there that people talk that kind of link a little
- 7:03bit of sexual well-being,
- 7:05a little bit of improvement in young women, oddly enough.
- 7:09Now, mind you, I'm going to keep going back and saying mentally and emotionally stable people.
- 7:16Yeah, you can explore some curiosities. You can even use it for education,
- 7:23you know, sex education in some degrees to help you and your husband and wife,
- 7:30you know, achieve orgasm even.
- 7:34Now, obviously, there's a fine line there, fine line.
- 7:40So those are just a few things, and those are legitimate things.
- 7:46If in a small number of the population, who knows?
- 7:51Excuse me. So, and I've always been on the side of, look, folks, I'll be honest with you.
- 7:58I still consume porn a little bit here and there.
- 8:02I've always enjoyed art. I'm a big fan of art.
- 8:07And erotic art is enjoyable. I like it. I like to see the different artists',
- 8:14styles and takes, and if it's a little sexual, whatever. And...
- 8:21And I've always thought about that. I've always been an individualist.
- 8:24And even before I was a Christian, I thought, I've always thought that I had
- 8:29a very healthy position on that.
- 8:33But we all know that there are multiple, multiple deep and severe risks to porn
- 8:43consumption, health risks.
- 8:46And I'm not talking about gaining weight. I'm talking about like anxiety and
- 8:51depression and general instability in your relationship.
- 8:57Yeah. This stuff, depending on your rate and extreme consumption,
- 9:08might create, well, it does.
- 9:12It changes the neuropathways in your brain.
- 9:15It creates different. And so along with this anxiety or depression,
- 9:20you know, you might have developed some, I don't know, misogyny and sexism.
- 9:27Mostly, well, I don't know about mostly, but a lot in porn is,
- 9:31you know, women are sort of objects.
- 9:34There's a lot of violent porn out, folks.
- 9:37Well, there's a lot of all kinds. I keep trying to refrain from the content. There's so much.
- 9:42We could be here for a 48-hour, 72-hour marathon Talking about the content of
- 9:48the different pornography out there.
- 9:51But look, it's a definite, definite, well-documented fact that the earlier,
- 9:58if youth, the earlier you're exposed to porn, the more likely you are to have
- 10:04behavioral issues and like long-term, deeply ingrained issues like misogyny,
- 10:10like violence toward women.
- 10:13Yeah, it's out there. That stuff, you can't deny that that exists.
- 10:19You can i'm just saying consumption but really addiction right that's what changes
- 10:26the brain now we're talking about porn you can be addicted to alcohol or gambling
- 10:32or you can be addicted to a lot of things and if you have an addictive personality
- 10:36i mean likely chances are you will be addicted.
- 10:41But what this addiction and this overconsumption of porn does is it kind of
- 10:48rewires your brain's reward system, right?
- 10:53And just like drugs, you need more and more.
- 10:55And then it needs to be more and more extreme because this thing that you like
- 10:59that's not doing it anymore, so you need more and more and more.
- 11:02And that's how addiction works.
- 11:05Yeah, that's how it creates neurological shifts in your brain.
- 11:10Now in today's age man it's
- 11:13difficult they're on the internet like your
- 11:16kids out there in the wild even
- 11:20if you don't let them have phones which you shouldn't by the
- 11:22way one of their friends has a phone and
- 11:26if their parents are irresponsible and they don't
- 11:28have any child blocks on that phone you know there's somebody out there showing
- 11:33your kid i don't care what age you're talking about if they're in a public school
- 11:37even private school some kid is showing them some wildly inappropriate shit
- 11:42you have to be aware of that it exists folks it exists and it's happening.
- 11:49So be very mindful of that because once they're hooked once they're addicted
- 11:54it don't matter again if it's porn if it's drugs or whatever that begins a life
- 12:03of problematic behavior,
- 12:06we talked about the anxiety and depression but then
- 12:09extreme sort of what's the word i'm looking for expectations on body types like
- 12:16of your own body you know you watch porn out there and there's some 25 year
- 12:21old dude who's ripped and has a 10 inch penis you know and you're looking at
- 12:25yourself like whoa whoa whoa am i normal i'm.
- 12:29Right. If you got some 12 year old kid seeing that and he's like,
- 12:33oh, my God, is that normal?
- 12:35Well, is it? And not just in boys, especially in women. Right.
- 12:41The porn has shaped the modern society in such a way that women pay lots of
- 12:48money these days to alter themselves to essentially look like porn stars.
- 12:55You got the lips and the ass lifts and the big boobs and the,
- 12:59and the tans and the paint on eyebrows and all that shit and the ridiculous
- 13:05clothes, all that is to mimic what,
- 13:10I don't know, probably in the, in the eighties and nineties was,
- 13:13they tried to glamorize porn,
- 13:16you know, to, to the point that it seemed, yeah, glamorous.
- 13:20And in these days, now you got women who pay big money to look like this.
- 13:27Do they act like that? I don't know. Maybe.
- 13:29Maybe not. I don't know. But it creates these mental issues that have deep and
- 13:36lasting impact, folks. Deep and lasting impact.
- 13:38And there's study after study. Look, I'm reading notes right now.
- 13:41But every point I'm making, there's like four studies attached to it from mentalhealth.com or...
- 13:51A study by Veer and Griffiths, IFS and Perry, 2025, Culture Reframed, 2023.
- 14:00There's so many studies, which is, it's not bizarre. It makes sense because
- 14:06we're always trying to find the sources of behavior problems,
- 14:10of criminal activity, of all that.
- 14:14And again, I go back to childhood. Early exposure by
- 14:19children will increase and distort their view of the opposite sex and objectification
- 14:30and then risky behaviors from boys and girls.
- 14:36And what's a trigger for that? Anybody?
- 14:42Anybody? Yeah, early childhood trauma and sexual abuse.
- 14:48When your shithead uncle wants to put his penis in your butthole when you're
- 14:51eight years old, you're going to be, you're going to be impacted by that mentally and psychologically.
- 15:01Yeah. Early childhood trauma, sexual abuse, then leads to, or can lead to early
- 15:09exposure or may have, that might have been a part of the exposure to pornography.
- 15:14And then you grow up trying to wonder why you're all fucked up.
- 15:19Protect your kids, good people. Protect them at all costs.
- 15:23The kids are vulnerable. We know this. We'll elaborate on it here in a little bit.
- 15:29Relationships, man. So some of this, like I said, there's some porn out there
- 15:34that's couple-based porn. You know, it's all romantic and stuff.
- 15:37But there's a lot that's very violent and very objectifying.
- 15:42And then could this have an effect on your empathy and the way you view your partner? It could.
- 15:51Could overconsumption of pornography have an effect on your ability to have satisfying sex?
- 15:59What you know at
- 16:02some point your kinks and fetishes expand beyond
- 16:06what your mate is able to or
- 16:10willing to to uh do with you
- 16:13or for you and couldn't that trigger some a little resentment or aggression
- 16:19even yeah yeah so it could have effect and never mind what if you're sneaking
- 16:26and sneaking around and watching porn and hiding it and then your wife finds out.
- 16:33Yeah, that can have an effect on your relationship, can't it?
- 16:36Maybe that's a discussion that needs to be had.
- 16:39So the psychology of pornography is it affects you as a consumer,
- 16:44right? The way you consume pornography.
- 16:48It has, well, it probably is triggered by some early traumas or early exposure.
- 16:54And then it can have long-term mental
- 16:57health impacts ultimately affecting your
- 17:02relationships with with anyone but especially women and if you're already married
- 17:08and it might be having an effect on your on your relationship as you're married
- 17:11so there's a deeper there's deeper psychology there that that and it has been studied in depth folks.
- 17:21What about, nevermind the psychology of the consumers, what about the performers?
- 17:27What about them? You know, in the past few, three, you know,
- 17:31maybe three decades or so, there's, you know, a push to normalize or to legitimize sex work.
- 17:40And there's different sides of that. That's a whole nother conversation. That's nuanced as well.
- 17:47But generally speaking, if we look at the mental health and the past traumas of the performers,
- 17:55we can see that there is a very abnormally high rate of sexual abuse as a child.
- 18:04Abnormally high instances of depression.
- 18:08And there's even post-traumatic stress, not just from childhood, but for performing.
- 18:16There has been countless porn stars who have come out with, you know,
- 18:22I was going to go do this scene and they were going to pay me 200 bucks and
- 18:26it was supposed to be this. And then the next thing you know, it was this.
- 18:29Right. And it was violent or something that she didn't agree to.
- 18:34But in the moment, you know, didn't
- 18:36have the, you know, didn't have the constitution to resist or whatever.
- 18:41And then never mind the high drug use and things like that.
- 18:45But I want you to understand that when you look at these people who are performing
- 18:49from your place of superiority and moral high ground, you just understand that
- 18:57some of these people are damaged.
- 19:01Yeah, some of these people are damaged and have some deeply ingrained psychological
- 19:08and emotional issues that they have not been able to overcome.
- 19:15Of trauma in that industry, folks. Now, well, let's continue on. Let's continue on.
- 19:22You know, and in that, I said, when you're looking at them from your place of
- 19:26superiority, there is to some degree a stigma on these people.
- 19:32Yeah. Are they making a choice? They're making the choice, but they have stigma.
- 19:36Some of them are, some of them may be involuntarily doing these things.
- 19:44Some of them may have substance abuse. Yeah, that's widespread there.
- 19:50So be mindful of that. Be mindful of that.
- 19:54The industry itself, though, I think we can all agree that it's probably pretty dirty.
- 19:59And I don't mean sexually dirty. I mean dirty like morally bankrupt.
- 20:04Well, definitely that. But the way people treat other people.
- 20:09And I'm not saying this forever. There's probably some great people in the porn industry, I imagine.
- 20:14Just like any other industry, there's shitbags and good people.
- 20:18You could say the same about law enforcement or anything. You could say the same about anything.
- 20:25But I understand that that probably the vast majority of people participating
- 20:30in that industry were probably damaged emotionally in some way,
- 20:34mentally in some way, or just on substance abuse.
- 20:38And we'll get into the involuntary stuff in a little bit.
- 20:42Now, there's a small segment of that industry that kind of promote,
- 20:49you know, women empowerment and try to highlight the positive health trends.
- 20:58You know, the couples therapy would watch them porn together,
- 21:02things like that, and try to show some empowerment.
- 21:05But that is a very small segment. The negative health from that industry,
- 21:13it dominates that industry. It dominates.
- 21:19Moderate consumption. I thought Will Rogers said it.
- 21:23I don't know if it was Will Rogers or Oscar Wilde.
- 21:27All things in moderation to include moderation.
- 21:31Can we consume porn moderately?
- 21:34If we're stable, right, and we don't have any deep issues and things like that,
- 21:39and we watch it for amusement, and we see the art in it, because there is some
- 21:46very artistic pornography out there.
- 21:50It's like anything else. You do anything, you do it with a level of ethical foundation.
- 21:58Is it possible to ethically consume porn? I don't know. We'll see. We'll see.
- 22:05Moderate use, yeah, like we
- 22:06talked about earlier, you can enhance your sexual life with your spouse.
- 22:14You know, try some new things.
- 22:16You can do that. There are some positive outcomes there.
- 22:21But I always talk about things with a libertarian spin.
- 22:26And then I also always throw, I don't say a Christian spin because I don't speak
- 22:32for Christians, just like I don't speak for all libertarians.
- 22:34But from my perspective as a libertarian, as a Christian,
- 22:40very clearly pornography conflicts
- 22:42with what we consider God's view or the divine view of sexuality is.
- 22:51Now, to me, sex is one of the greatest gifts to mankind.
- 22:59It is among the most pleasurable thing in existence.
- 23:04Now, I've never done any drugs, folks.
- 23:09So I don't know the levels that you reach during that.
- 23:13There are some addicts out there that will tell you that that's what it is.
- 23:16To me, because to me, you have to be conscious, conscious to appreciate the joy, right?
- 23:26You can't do anything when you're clouded with drugs or alcohol or whatever.
- 23:30So I think sex is one of the greatest pleasures, one of the greatest gifts from God. Yeah, I do.
- 23:37I believe that. But pornography is inextricably linked to lust, which is a deadly sin.
- 23:44And it can be linked to infidelity if you consume it in such a way that it drives
- 23:50you to go search out someone else other than your wife. Yeah.
- 23:57Cheating just to watch porn, if your wife knows about it and condones?
- 24:03I don't know. I don't know. I don't think so, but I'm not sure.
- 24:09That's between you and your wife, I suppose.
- 24:11Now, there is a camp out there that says all sin is equal.
- 24:16If you even think about it, you may as well have done it. It's sin. Sin is sin is sin.
- 24:21I think I disagree with that, though. I think there are levels of sin.
- 24:26Now, that don't mean it's okay to go do it, and that don't mean you can do the
- 24:31lesser sin and just slide, and you still are meant to repent.
- 24:35But if all sin was equal, why would there be seven deadly sins? Is any other sin deadly?
- 24:43So they're not equal, as per the Bible, if there's only seven deadly sins.
- 24:49Now, does that mean all sin derives from those seven, I guess that's a way to look at it.
- 24:56I'm not a biblical scholar, so I can't go much deeper on that.
- 25:00I don't think all sin is equal.
- 25:03That's me personally. School me up. If you're out there, if you're one of my
- 25:07Christian homies, school me up.
- 25:11But if all sin was equal, I don't think they would have specified seven deadly sins.
- 25:17It's just my opinion. But I got news for you good people over 54 percent of
- 25:23christians use pornography regularly.
- 25:27And that's an anonymous survey done by Christians.
- 25:34And I want to say Christianity Today, 2025, possibly. That's where that's from.
- 25:43In what capacity are these Christians consuming porn?
- 25:47Is it just to have some spicy sex with your spouse? Is that even a sin?
- 25:52Is lust a sin with your wife?
- 25:56If you're lusting for your wife? Because is it real?
- 26:00I mean, once again, I think sex is one of the most magical gifts from God.
- 26:07And I think sex is meant to be enjoyed.
- 26:10I think God meant for us to enjoy each other in the fullest of capacities.
- 26:15I don't believe sex is just to procreate.
- 26:19If that were the case, it wouldn't feel so good.
- 26:24Right? Because all, look, I do believe in intelligent design, divine design.
- 26:34Like I said, I think it supersedes all other pleasure.
- 26:39Now, the pursuit of lust is definitely a sin, a deadly sin, it says.
- 26:47But if you make love with your wife or husband, folks, and you enjoy it to its fullest.
- 26:54You guys go to sleep just feeling completely satiated, just done.
- 27:01Is that bad? Is that not good?
- 27:04I think it's good. Yes, I do.
- 27:08Christians are out there consuming porn. Now, like I said, in all industries,
- 27:12there's good and bad people.
- 27:14In all religions, there's still shitbags walking around.
- 27:17Just because you're a professed Christian doesn't mean you're Christ-like.
- 27:21Hell, I'm probably not. I try to be in certain aspects.
- 27:26To me, that's my Christian journey, right?
- 27:30It's trying to be as good as I can be to people, right?
- 27:35Not only don't hurt people, but help people when they need it.
- 27:40I'm starting with that. I'm starting with that.
- 27:4534%. Man, that's consuming porn. Never mind.
- 27:49There's probably a significant number of Christian men out there chasing prostitutes,
- 27:53cheating on their wives, all that stuff that may or may not be fueled by pornography.
- 28:00I reject the notion that if you cheat on your wife, it's because you look at porn.
- 28:05There's so many other factors involved. So I reject that.
- 28:10Now, folks, don't get me wrong my wife and i've had these conversations so don't
- 28:14think i'm over here just saying some weird shit i've had those conversations
- 28:19and my wife grew up in a mississippi pentecostal.
- 28:27Preacher as a grandfather so porn sex never mind porn sex was stigmatized in
- 28:37a big way. Yeah, in a big way.
- 28:40So yeah, man, that, and then you see an overreaction from people who are shielded
- 28:47or not given the, I don't know, the true nature of sex between husband and wife.
- 28:54Yeah, no, we're not supposed to have sex before marriage as per the Christian doctrine. I get that.
- 29:01A lot of people do, folks. I did, for sure. But when it's so taboo,
- 29:07when you hide a thing, when you try to hide it and don't educate on it,
- 29:12people are going to go explore it because it's a strong, strong force.
- 29:17Sexuality is strong, folks.
- 29:20Anyway, back to the Christians. Yeah, Christian pornography use, 54%.
- 29:25That's a little, is that surprising? I'm not surprised by that.
- 29:30Again, I count myself a Christian.
- 29:32If I did an anonymous survey and someone asked, I would say,
- 29:35yes, I consume porn. There you go. I'm one of those 54, I guess.
- 29:42Other than the moral aspect of casual sex on film and all that,
- 29:51what's one of the things that really burns Christians up?
- 29:55But it, okay, blasphemy, right? Blasphemy.
- 29:59So when you see pornography that is specifically religious themed nuns or your
- 30:09Mormon preacher with all his little Mormon virgin concubines or whatever,
- 30:14crazy stuff like that.
- 30:17Hell, I don't know. Maybe 54% of those Christians are out watching that kind of porn.
- 30:21Just but i get
- 30:24look folks and i'm very much about art
- 30:28the freedom right of expression there was once there was once a painting well
- 30:35it was a photograph wasn't painting i forget the guy's name i've referenced
- 30:38it before it was called and it came out in like maybe the late 80s early 90s
- 30:42it was It was a crucifix, Christ on the crucifix,
- 30:48submerged in a vat of piss.
- 30:52And it was very, very offensive. And it created a controversy.
- 30:58And people tried to get it censored and all those things.
- 31:02And it was distasteful, for sure. And blasphemous, if, yeah, for sure.
- 31:09And it was very visually striking.
- 31:11The color the the the whole thing and
- 31:14and and the guy was yeah whatever and
- 31:18it was a work and the whole and it was a series on body fluids and there was
- 31:22other thing it wasn't just a anti-religious thing it well it was a little bit
- 31:28but it wasn't just that that was a component of it So I'm always walking a line of,
- 31:36because blasphemy does, for me, I do not blaspheme, right?
- 31:43And I don't think that, yeah, I don't really joke about, you know, the creator.
- 31:52But, but, but from the libertarian perspective, right, you should have a freedom of expression.
- 31:57You should. Now, should the federal government fund that or not?
- 32:01That's a whole different thing.
- 32:02And actually, I want to say the National Endowment for the Arts lost some funding over that.
- 32:08There was a repercussion for that, I think.
- 32:12Mocking faith is not cool, whether it's an artistic expression or pornographic
- 32:18or lit literary or some statue of Moloch sitting on the grounds of a city courthouse or whatever else.
- 32:31I don't think mocking faith, I don't care for that personally.
- 32:37It just creates it just adds to a darkness that we already have enough darkness
- 32:43in our society it just adds to the darkness even if it's frivolous sexuality
- 32:49it still adds to a darkness,
- 32:52because you're shitting on someone's faith all right let's move on the sex industry folks.
- 33:01Well, there's some different numbers here.
- 33:03The sex industry is a multi-billion dollar industry.
- 33:09Now that's above board and then below.
- 33:12There are varying numbers on the underground sex industry as far as money goes
- 33:18and as far as numbers of humans and this and that and the other.
- 33:21But you can't talk about pornography without talking about sex trafficking and stuff like that.
- 33:29Do I think all pornography is produced with involuntary hostages?
- 33:37No, I don't. I don't at all.
- 33:39I think there is within the industry, and it might be a small section,
- 33:46but I think there is an above board, a legitimate, you know, voluntary,
- 33:52fair, fairly operated, you know,
- 33:56sort of a piece of that.
- 33:59But you cannot, you cannot separate sex trafficking from pornography.
- 34:05I mean, what, and what, man, there, this could be a whole nother episode,
- 34:10just sex trafficking alone.
- 34:11Nevermind the result, a result being pornography. That's just one small piece.
- 34:17What drives that kind of stuff? How do you, how are people kidnapped?
- 34:22I think there's a 24, 2024 study, you know, trafficking rose in 2024 by 25%
- 34:31from what it previously was.
- 34:32Now we're already almost to the end of 2025.
- 34:35What drives that, man? I mean, just crazy stuff. Poverty. Yeah, I guess.
- 34:41No, probably largely poverty. These third world conflicts.
- 34:47Yeah. And somewhere between 60 and 70% of traffic victims are women.
- 34:53Female. 40% being children.
- 34:58That's a humongous number. Let me see here.
- 35:02Is there a number? quarter million
- 35:05u.s children u.s children are at risk from being trafficked for purposes of
- 35:12who knows what prostitution slavery and all that that stuff pornography underground dark web shit.
- 35:25Now, I'm not meaning to go into all this stuff in such a way to be biased here.
- 35:34I'm just telling you, you can't separate the porn industry from sex trafficking
- 35:42and child exploitation and even prostitution.
- 35:46Now, I do and I always have stood and I still do stand that prostitution should be legalized.
- 35:54And that may sound controversial based on the things I'm saying right now,
- 35:58but I also think drugs should be decriminalized.
- 36:02I think machine guns should be decriminalized.
- 36:05I think a lot of things should be done because I don't trust the government
- 36:09to regulate these things.
- 36:11But when they are decriminalized, then they are more above board.
- 36:17And when things can operate in the open, then they can be regulated by the free market.
- 36:25And government. Yeah, of course. Prostitution in Germany is legal.
- 36:32And I think it's a pretty thriving industry in Germany. And yeah,
- 36:36I'll admit I have partaken.
- 36:40There are medical standards. There are standards that these women have.
- 36:44Now, there's still violence, but check this out.
- 36:49If you are at a brothel in Germany and you get violent with one of those working
- 36:56girls, most of those brothels have big, beefy,
- 37:02burly, angry European type, Eastern European types that will beat the shit out of you.
- 37:08That's not excusing anything i'm just saying things that
- 37:12are are decriminalized are are more
- 37:15above board now does that mean decriminalize kidnapping no it doesn't no no
- 37:21no prostitution is a result that's a thing that they get that that goes beyond
- 37:29what is criminal you know and And who knows,
- 37:33what's it like in Nevada or whatever counties in Nevada that prostitution's legal?
- 37:42I don't even know. None of that popped up in any of my research.
- 37:46How are those women? Are those women empowered or they're out of force? I don't know.
- 37:52I don't know. I'm sure they have some standards for their ladies there too, though.
- 37:57Because it's an above board business. They pay taxes, unfortunately,
- 38:03and they have to comply with regulations of some sort, health regulations and all those things.
- 38:10So look, sex trafficking and child exploitation cannot be disregarded.
- 38:16It cannot be disregarded. We're going to talk about that more later.
- 38:20So I talked about the point industry being a multibillion-dollar economy,
- 38:25multibillion-dollar economy, and that's underground shit.
- 38:29If it were all above ground, you would think municipality, you would think American
- 38:35politicians would be like, yes, we need to capitalize on that. You would think.
- 38:42But the illicit part of that is, you know, half of the drive on that is the taboo of it.
- 38:50Now, I don't want to get conspiratorial here, but when you got all these rich
- 38:54people who allegedly have these ridiculous sex parties with children,
- 39:01it's because they're kids.
- 39:03It's because it's taboo. It's because they feel empowered and untouchable to
- 39:09do things that other people can't and wouldn't do.
- 39:14Do you understand the nature of the black market versus above board?
- 39:20And that's all very libertarian points of view on that.
- 39:23So, yeah, there's bad. There's badness. There is definite badness in all that. And I recognize it.
- 39:31And there are organizations out there, folks, trafficking or anti-trafficking organizations.
- 39:37There's one that I've been following for a long time, and I think they're awesome.
- 39:43And the guy who runs it is named Basil Baz, and he's a, I want to say he's a man's man.
- 39:50You know, he's got long white hair.
- 39:52He's a tough guy. He's a genuine tough guy. And he was in the intelligence community and all this.
- 39:57The Association for the Recovery of Children, ARC.
- 40:00He's the founder and CEO of that. They've been doing business since the early 90s.
- 40:05And every mission they have, they've got 100% success rate in rescuing children
- 40:12all across the globe. Right.
- 40:16Various kidnapping, sex trafficking, et cetera, et cetera.
- 40:20The Association for the Recovery of Children, ARC.
- 40:24And the men who work with that organization are all former, you know,
- 40:28intelligence, military, police guys.
- 40:31Who are drawn, called, convicted to go out and try to protect the defenseless
- 40:43and the weak in this world.
- 40:46And you guys have all heard of Operation Underground Railroad that was the movie.
- 40:51There was a movie, Cry Freedom. Was it Cry Freedom?
- 40:55With Jim Caviezel. You know, it was a little controversial because it was highlighting
- 41:01the sex trafficking. And I think this was down in South America specifically.
- 41:05And then everybody was like, oh, well, Tim Ballard didn't do this or he didn't do that.
- 41:09It was a movie to highlight things. Now, there's been some controversy with
- 41:16Tim Ballard. He's been accused of trafficking.
- 41:19Now, I think they're probably baseless, but the point is that they have had
- 41:25a significant impact because I think Ballard also was intelligence or Homeland
- 41:30Security or something like that.
- 41:31I mean, you have to have a network of people who can help you actually collect
- 41:37and synthesize intelligence to be able to go and act on these things.
- 41:44And you've got to have some kind of network of people who can get you into these
- 41:49countries legally and things like that.
- 41:52So Operation Underground Railroad.
- 41:56Called Polaris that has a U.S.-based trafficking hotline. Yeah.
- 42:03There's a lot of them out there, Shared Hope, Truckers Against Trafficking.
- 42:09Yeah. There's one called Gray Bull. Now, they do rescues from war-torn countries,
- 42:14but it's a similar sort of thing.
- 42:17So these organizations are out there. Most of them are nonprofits.
- 42:20They rely on the largesse of the American public and the well-to-dos who genuinely want to help,
- 42:29not the ones who go out there and buy,
- 42:32fucking humans for their sexual and frigging evil pleasures.
- 42:40So there are good men out there doing good things. If I had something to offer to that, I would.
- 42:47My wife wanted me to try to reach out to Underground Railroad to work with them, to get a job.
- 42:53I don't think I bring anything to that table, really.
- 42:57I have tactical skill, that is all. I don't have a network of people.
- 43:02I don't know. I don't know how good I would be for that.
- 43:04If I reached out to any, it would be ARC.
- 43:07At any rate, besides that, these organizations are out there,
- 43:11and they're trying to cut some of that stuff off, some of the evil that exists
- 43:17that the porn industry doesn't necessarily promote,
- 43:23but it fuels and exacerbates.
- 43:27We all know as long as there's a demand, somebody will fuel the supply. Somebody will provide.
- 43:37Does the porn industry create that demand? Huh, huh?
- 43:45Creates it from scratch, but it certainly exacerbates it. Yeah.
- 43:50Sex and sexuality are very powerful things and they drive our connection.
- 44:00This is why men and women get together. It's a natural instinct.
- 44:06There's pheromones. There's body types that people do. Sometimes you look at
- 44:13and connect and you're like, oh my God, this person, I want to be a part of this person.
- 44:19And the pleasure can be immense and almost indescribable.
- 44:26It doesn't have to be exploited. It doesn't have to be ugly. It can be beautiful.
- 44:30But there's always the risk of addiction.
- 44:36If you don't take this pleasure and process it and go about it correctly,
- 44:42there's the risk of addiction.
- 44:44And then there's always, always the risk of exploitation.
- 44:49Always. It's out there. In every sector, in everything, there is always someone
- 44:56who will exploit what is good about this thing.
- 45:01It doesn't matter to industry. There are people extorting money.
- 45:05There are people lying and doing Ponzi schemes in the banking industry.
- 45:10There's people in any industry exploiting.
- 45:15There are people, there are restaurants selling you one thing and calling it
- 45:20this thing, but it's really something else to cut down on ingredient costs.
- 45:27Just crazy shit like that. There's exploitation all over the world,
- 45:32all over the industries, all over everything.
- 45:34There's some way to undercut and undermine it. But can we consume pornography ethically?
- 45:46Ethically. Now, look, I mean secularly here.
- 45:49Yes, as a Christian, it's not ethical necessarily to watch pornography.
- 45:56And I don't know. Again, we have to talk about this with smarter people than
- 46:01me. But can you and your wife, who you've been married to for 29 years,
- 46:06lay up in the bed, you know, with some candles on?
- 46:13Some sexy porn on the TV and roll around and get down and get worked up and have a great time.
- 46:20Yeah, that can happen. Is it ethical from a Christian perspective?
- 46:24Unknown. If you're assuming that all porn comes from exploitation, probably not.
- 46:30But again, I already gave you my opinion. I think that there is a sector in
- 46:36the porn industry out there that is above board.
- 46:40I Can we consume porn ethically in a secular way? Yeah, I think we can.
- 46:46Just be mindful. You know, just be mindful. Now, again, I'm not endorsing or indicting.
- 46:52I'm just saying I think it's possible. I think it's possible.
- 46:56But understand, excess can lead to bigger problems.
- 47:02Excess can lead to emotional and mental issues that can potentially,
- 47:09in massive excess, can rewire your brain where you find no pleasure anymore. You have to chase.
- 47:18You have to chase pleasure now.
- 47:21And that is not Christian-like at all.
- 47:25You should be chasing God's favor, not your physical pleasure.
- 47:33Again, it's a gift of God when it's done correct. Thank you.
- 47:38It's done correctly. When it's done incorrectly, it takes focus away.
- 47:42Ethical consumption of pornography requires an awareness of the content,
- 47:51the source of the content, the performer conditions.
- 47:56And was this pornography, literally, was it ethically produced, voluntary, fair?
- 48:05Yeah, was it because otherwise
- 48:08it can exploit vulnerable people vulnerable women and
- 48:12unfortunately out there vulnerable children so maintain
- 48:16some stability some mental and emotional stability make informed choices and
- 48:22then engage in a healthy way if you want to pornography it's a complex issue
- 48:29folks it's complex and it's nuanced it's complex and nuanced,
- 48:36You could branch off of any one of these little topics I touched on and just go on and on.
- 48:46Again, think about it critically, folks, and from whatever your value system is. Think about that.
- 48:54And if you're one of the Christians, one of those 54% or whatever, thank you.
- 49:02At least put it in perspective and assess don't be willfully ignorant of the porn you consume,
- 49:12now look good people in my life i've seen some bizarre shit be mindful of things you consume,
- 49:18hell that applies to everything think critically and be mindful of all the things you consume,
