- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you. Always.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hello, everyone. Welcome back to another episode of Star Wars
- 0:24Speaker 2: Lies Your Home on the Geek Ultimate Lies Podcast Network
- 0:27Speaker 2: for any and all things Star Wars. I'm your host,
- 0:30Speaker 2: as always, Katie. And with me, as per the usual,
- 0:33Speaker 2: it's Clay. Clay, how are you doing today?
- 0:36Speaker 3: I am doing pretty good. Now, the main topic today is,
- 0:41Speaker 3: of course, the review. But the one that you forgot
- 0:43Speaker 3: right before we started recording is this Star Wars quiz.
- 0:47Speaker 3: And I am just scrolling down. I just told you
- 0:49Speaker 3: right before we went live that I hadn't looked at
- 0:52Speaker 3: the exact questions that I got wrong. And... Man, this
- 0:56Speaker 3: quiz is going to humble me because I am just
- 0:59Speaker 3: seeing huge waves of red on this quiz. It's huge.
- 1:07Speaker 2: For those of you guys who don't know what we're
- 1:09Speaker 2: talking about, DragonCon was this past weekend. And every Sunday,
- 1:14Speaker 2: they released the Star Wars qualifying exam on Google Forms. Um,
- 1:22Speaker 2: and if you're interested in this, you can find it
- 1:24Speaker 2: on their social media, but I'm sure Clay will be
- 1:26Speaker 2: nice to drop it in the description box below.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yes, I will.
- 1:29Speaker 2: If you ask very nicely guys. Um, but, uh, Clay
- 1:34Speaker 2: and I, I have taken this quiz for the past
- 1:37Speaker 2: five years. Clay, I think has taken it for the past.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Three, um, two or three, two or three, two or
- 1:43Speaker 3: three years.
- 1:44Speaker 2: We definitely did it last year. I can't remember who
- 1:46Speaker 2: did the previous year. Um, But this quiz was definitely
- 1:52Speaker 2: the hardest it has been. So we're going to just
- 1:58Speaker 2: go through that, guys, and just kind of see where
- 2:00Speaker 2: we end up. Clay and I both scored the exact same,
- 2:03Speaker 2: but I'm sure we got different answers right and different
- 2:07Speaker 2: answers wrong.
- 2:08Speaker 3: So one of the biggest things last year is I
- 2:13Speaker 3: remember that when it came to the... um like of
- 2:21Speaker 3: course timeline questions that's where i struggled when it came there.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Was very timeline questions.
- 2:27Speaker 3: It was it was very timeline heavy this year but
- 2:31Speaker 3: when it oh i.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Didn't feel like it was that timeline heavy this year.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Oh it wasn't that okay i'll have to go back
- 2:36Speaker 3: but i do remember what got you last year that
- 2:41Speaker 3: i literally just got lucky on was the like um
- 2:49Speaker 3: Like the ship models and things like that. I remembered
- 2:54Speaker 3: a few of those from last year, which is exactly why,
- 3:00Speaker 3: and I'm going to go ahead and spoil this for me.
- 3:06Speaker 3: The 25% question, it says this question will remain on
- 3:10Speaker 3: the test until at least 25%. of you get it right.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I don't remember if I got it correct last year,
- 3:18Speaker 3: but I remember the correct answer from last year. So
- 3:22Speaker 3: I was able to actually get it right this year.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I remembered that question from last year, but I again
- 3:30Speaker 2: fell for the, Oh, the correct answer sounds too silly. Yes. Yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 2: So I didn't pick it. So I did not get
- 3:39Speaker 2: that one. Right. But yeah, Guys, the only piece of
- 3:44Speaker 2: news that we really have is that both the 1977
- 3:50Speaker 2: original Star Wars film will be in like IMAX. I
- 3:55Speaker 2: think you said 70 millimeter format?
- 3:59Speaker 3: I think it's 70. I'm about to cough. Hold on. Sorry,
- 4:04Speaker 3: I went down the wrong pipe. I think it's 70
- 4:06Speaker 3: or 77. It's one of the two. I think it's 70. Yeah, 70mm.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Starfighter and the original Star Wars will both be in
- 4:16Speaker 2: IMAX 70mm next year to celebrate the 50th anniversary. So,
- 4:22Speaker 2: if you were one of those people who was like,
- 4:24Speaker 2: I'm gonna go see the Odyssey in 70mm and you
- 4:27Speaker 2: have a theater like that close to you because there
- 4:29Speaker 2: are very few theaters like this in the world.
- 4:31Speaker 3: There is literally, I believe, 14 theaters in all of Earth.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Not the United States. Yeah. not like it is entirely
- 4:41Speaker 3: the earth there is only 14 the only one that's
- 4:46Speaker 3: 37 yeah the one that's nearest me i believe is
- 4:51Speaker 3: in dallas.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah that would make sense that texas has.
- 4:58Speaker 3: One yeah but that is really all we have.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Apparently there's one in charlotte so.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Oh really maybe yeah.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Who knows? Maybe that, maybe that'll be a thing that happens. Um, so, uh, yeah.
- 5:19Speaker 2: So both of those movies will be, uh, in the
- 5:23Speaker 2: mega duty formats, uh, next year, but that's really the
- 5:28Speaker 2: only bit of news that I saw on star Wars
- 5:31Speaker 2: news net or any of the main platforms. Um, Apparently,
- 5:37Speaker 2: I had five minutes and 19 seconds left in Hiding
- 5:40Speaker 2: from the Dark, by the way. That was my third listen,
- 5:42Speaker 2: so it's fine. But I'm just looking at that and
- 5:45Speaker 2: I'm like, I didn't finish that?
- 5:47Speaker 1: Okay, anyways.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Which is our second and main topic after we talk
- 5:53Speaker 3: about the quiz.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:56Speaker 3: But this quiz, guys.
- 5:59Speaker 2: So, just to put it in perspective, yes.
- 6:02Speaker 3: The average contestant got 18 out of 50. Correct. That is...
- 6:12Speaker 3: In person. That is in person. And that is, of course,
- 6:18Speaker 3: less than half. 25 is half because it is 50.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Katie and I both got 22 out of 50. If
- 6:22Speaker 3: memory serves me right... I believe last year I broke 30.
- 6:39Speaker 2: I don't think we broke 30 last year because I
- 6:41Speaker 2: had 28 last year.
- 6:42Speaker 3: I was going to say, does it sound, 28 sounds
- 6:47Speaker 3: correct-ish of where we should.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Because you didn't beat me last year. So.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:52Speaker 3: So I think the average was 23 last year.
- 6:55Speaker 2: And then I think you had 26 and I had 28.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, that sounds correct.
- 7:06Speaker 2: That sounds correct. But I don't... So what's your first question?
- 7:13Speaker 3: So my first question is how many Jedi went on
- 7:16Speaker 3: the mission to Sophros? What is it?
- 7:22Speaker 2: Yeah, Planet X.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Planet X to defeat the Nameless in 228 BBY.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Now, Katie.
- 7:33Speaker 3: How many times did you have to count on your
- 7:35Speaker 3: fingers for this question to be i did you get
- 7:40Speaker 3: it right.
- 7:41Speaker 2: I got the picture i i was able to picture
- 7:44Speaker 2: it in my head and i thought i clicked nine
- 7:48Speaker 2: but apparently i clicked 12 so this is the question
- 7:52Speaker 2: that i'm like i know i clicked nine i know
- 7:55Speaker 2: i clicked.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Nine that sucks I literally pictured the cover and then
- 8:04Speaker 3: just to be safe, I sat there and counted them
- 8:07Speaker 3: in pairs and then the very last one was buckets
- 8:13Speaker 3: of blood because he died.
- 8:16Speaker 2: He was the only one that fit the armor.
- 8:17Speaker 3: So that was my first question.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Okay, my second question What type of projectile rifle, not
- 8:29Speaker 2: a blaster, did Zam Wessel use during her attempt to
- 8:32Speaker 2: assassinate Padme Amidala.
- 8:34Speaker 3: In 22 BBY? That is also my second question.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Okay, so I think we might be in order then.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Okay, okay.
- 8:41Speaker 2: James is in the chat. Hi, James.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Hello, James. Okay, so do you remember at all what
- 8:52Speaker 3: this answer was?
- 8:56Speaker 2: So it's the original one that she tried to shoot.
- 8:58Speaker 2: And I did not... I was between the Kiss Deer
- 9:05Speaker 2: and the Zerka. And I picked the Zerka. And the
- 9:08Speaker 2: Kiss Deer 1284 was the correct answer.
- 9:15Speaker 3: The only reason why I know this answer is because
- 9:21Speaker 3: of video games. So I am so glad... that I
- 9:27Speaker 3: have video game knowledge to get that one correct. The
- 9:33Speaker 3: third question, what did Infus Nest do with the coaxium
- 9:41Speaker 3: she received from Han Solo on Savrine? This is, of course,
- 9:47Speaker 3: a Solo movie question. I... literally was sweating bullets for this.
- 9:58Speaker 3: And it was a, eeny meeny miny moe.
- 10:03Speaker 2: So which one did you pick.
- 10:06Speaker 3: I got it correct thankfully I.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Did too but I didn't eeny meeny miny moe.
- 10:12Speaker 3: This one so this one the correct answer is she
- 10:16Speaker 3: gave it to Saw Gerrera yup I don't remember Saw
- 10:22Speaker 3: Gerrera being mentioned in the movie. So that was my
- 10:28Speaker 3: big thing. I.
- 10:31Speaker 2: So I think the name in particular is said in
- 10:35Speaker 2: the book, in the novelization. But in the movie, she says, oh,
- 10:41Speaker 2: I'm going to give it to somebody.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Okay.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Something along those lines. So... James asks, what is y'all's
- 10:51Speaker 2: favorite game? So I don't play a lot of video games,
- 10:56Speaker 2: so my default answer is going to be the original
- 11:01Speaker 2: PS2 Lego Star Wars original trilogy answer. If you've followed
- 11:09Speaker 2: us for a long time, you know that I had
- 11:12Speaker 2: issues with Lego Skywalker Saga. The original trilogy, Lego Star Wars,
- 11:17Speaker 2: is always going to be my favorite, I think.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Now, outside of our brand of Star Wars, my favorite
- 11:24Speaker 3: video game franchise is Kingdom Hearts. But to keep it
- 11:29Speaker 3: on brand, my newest favorite game that I literally cannot
- 11:33Speaker 3: stop playing is Star Wars Zero Company. I highly recommend
- 11:38Speaker 3: anybody and everybody who loves strategy games or just loves
- 11:43Speaker 3: Star Wars overall. Because they do have really fun tidbits
- 11:47Speaker 3: of lore just kind of dabbled into that game. I
- 11:52Speaker 3: highly recommend everybody be playing Zero Company. It's so, so fun. So, Katie,
- 12:00Speaker 3: next question.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Who commanded the Resistance ground forces during the Battle of Crait? Now,
- 12:14Speaker 2: I went with the safe answer here, probably, and I
- 12:17Speaker 2: got it wrong. I.
- 12:21Speaker 2: The safe human answer.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Had zero idea. And so, I literally... Amberlynn was sitting
- 12:35Speaker 3: on my lap the entire time I was doing this quiz.
- 12:39Speaker 3: I said, hey... Who do you think did this? And
- 12:43Speaker 3: I asked the question and she goes, I don't know.
- 12:46Speaker 3: I said, just point. And she pointed and I got
- 12:49Speaker 3: it right. That is amazing. I have no idea who
- 12:54Speaker 3: this is. It doesn't ring any bells.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it did not ring a super amount of bells
- 13:02Speaker 2: when I read the answers. I think this is also
- 13:08Speaker 2: a novelization answer. I knew it was a human. So
- 13:15Speaker 2: I knew immediately it was not Ackbar. But I picked
- 13:19Speaker 2: Riken because I knew it was a member of the
- 13:23Speaker 2: Rebel Alliance. And the Statura guy, I did not remember
- 13:28Speaker 2: ever reading him with the Rebel Alliance. So I knew
- 13:34Speaker 2: it was either Riken or it was the other guy.
- 13:37Speaker 2: And I had never heard of Amai. So, yeah. Kaluan
- 13:43Speaker 2: Amat led the Resistance Ground Forces during the Battle of Kree.
- 13:47Speaker 2: James also asks, what is y'all's favorite book? I think
- 13:52Speaker 2: right now my favorite one is Legacy. Star Wars Legacy.
- 13:55Speaker 2: The recent one that came out is a super good
- 13:58Speaker 2: book by Madeline Rue. I loved it with everything I had.
- 14:06Speaker 3: From this year, I genuinely have to say that... the
- 14:13Speaker 3: Star Wars Visions Tsukumo is probably my favorite but that
- 14:21Speaker 3: is technically a manga but like novelization book I would
- 14:27Speaker 3: say both Legacies and Eyes Like Stars are like really
- 14:34Speaker 3: really like neck and neck so I really appreciate both
- 14:37Speaker 3: of those which by the way there was an Eyes
- 14:40Speaker 3: Like Stars question in here And thanks to Katie, I
- 14:44Speaker 3: think I got it right. But we have to see.
- 14:47Speaker 3: So the very next question is, which New Republic Starfighter
- 14:53Speaker 3: unit were Carson Teva and Trapper Wolf members of as
- 14:59Speaker 3: of 9 ABY? Now, I saw Wolf and immediately thought Echo.
- 15:11Speaker 3: So I clicked Echo Squadron. I was too quick to
- 15:15Speaker 3: do this. So I got this one. And I think
- 15:19Speaker 3: that's what the entire question is intended in, which is
- 15:22Speaker 3: why the answer is there in the first place.
- 15:25Speaker 2: The answer, which I got right, was Adelphi Rangers.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Yes.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yes. The next question. What biome covers the majority of
- 15:35Speaker 2: the planet Deveron?
- 15:37Speaker 3: I don't remember. I don't remember what planet Deveron is.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I did not remember, but I remember I vaguely had
- 15:48Speaker 2: in my head that a Deveronian is more of a
- 15:52Speaker 2: reptilian humanoid. So I picked jungle because I could not
- 16:01Speaker 2: tell you what Taiga is. And I felt like Savannah
- 16:04Speaker 2: and Desert was too hot for a reptile.
- 16:10Speaker 3: So... Also, quick news after a quick Google search. Devaron
- 16:19Speaker 3: and Devron, those are two different planets. So D-E-V-A-R-O-N and
- 16:25Speaker 3: then D-E-V-R-O-N. So there's two different planets that are basically
- 16:32Speaker 3: the same thing. One is from Star Wars and one
- 16:35Speaker 3: is from Star Trek. So look at that. But yeah,
- 16:39Speaker 3: my answer to this... was desert. I don't know why.
- 16:44Speaker 3: I just felt like, hey, I'm just going to go
- 16:46Speaker 3: with desert. And that was incorrect.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Yeah, this is the guy with the... with the horns, typically. Like,
- 16:56Speaker 2: the males have the horns. And so they have, like, that.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Oh, okay. Yeah. Which is why I was like.
- 17:06Speaker 2: I feel jungle. Alright, so the next one... I should
- 17:11Speaker 2: have gotten right, but I went too fast on it.
- 17:16Speaker 3: This one is, which battle fought in 1032 BBY resulted
- 17:22Speaker 3: in the destruction of the Brotherhood of Darkness and the
- 17:26Speaker 3: end of the Jedi-Sith War? This is a Bane question.
- 17:33Speaker 2: And I got it wrong.
- 17:34Speaker 3: I got this one right, thankfully.
- 17:37Speaker 2: I picked Dromund Kaas.
- 17:42Speaker 3: I almost did. But after reading the name Dromund Kaas
- 17:49Speaker 3: like three or four times, I was like, hold on.
- 17:51Speaker 3: This is not it. Let's assess this.
- 17:55Speaker 2: I was doing it in the middle of bath time
- 17:57Speaker 2: and Matt was like, you should not be taking this
- 18:00Speaker 2: right now. You need to spend a little bit more
- 18:02Speaker 2: time on it. I was like, nah, it'll be fine.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Yeah, clearly.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Was not.
- 18:09Speaker 3: The next question, I... Which one?
- 18:16Speaker 2: What species was Cyan Alacor, the wild spacer who stowed
- 18:20Speaker 2: away on the Starfarer around 33 ABY?
- 18:24Speaker 3: This is our Eyes Like Stars question.
- 18:32Speaker 2: I completely missed that reference. I thought it was... I
- 18:36Speaker 2: thought it was the comic with, like, the hotel question. Oh,
- 18:41Speaker 2: I should have gotten this right.
- 18:44Speaker 3: This is the question that I got right because of you.
- 18:48Speaker 3: I was like, what did Katie say? And I genuinely
- 18:54Speaker 3: went through every one. I was like, Mary Ellen, no,
- 18:56Speaker 3: they have the pink tentacles. Umbaran, no.
- 18:59Speaker 2: I didn't recognize the character name. Guys, this is why
- 19:03Speaker 2: I can't. This is why scan reading is such a
- 19:05Speaker 2: problem for me. Unless the character is around, all gone.
- 19:12Speaker 3: For sure.
- 19:15Speaker 2: When you said there was an Eyes Like Stars question,
- 19:16Speaker 2: I was like, I don't remember there being an Eyes
- 19:19Speaker 2: Like Stars question.
- 19:22Speaker 3: This next question, I don't care how many times I
- 19:26Speaker 3: have watched any and all Clone Wars and prequel trilogy stuff.
- 19:32Speaker 3: I can't for the life of me remember this question.
- 19:35Speaker 3: I knew I was going to get this one wrong.
- 19:37Speaker 2: This is Attack of the Clones. It's not Clone Wars.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Okay. Where did Anacin and Padme pretend to be from
- 19:48Speaker 3: while they were traveling disguise? as refugees in 22 BBY?
- 19:54Speaker 3: I could not remember for the life of me.
- 19:57Speaker 2: It was the Thousand Moon System. Don't ask me how
- 20:00Speaker 2: I remember, but she says it in the movie.
- 20:05Speaker 3: I was trying to choose between emo timorous and the
- 20:12Speaker 3: black delve.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Um, so I would have gotten it wrong either way. Um,
- 20:17Speaker 3: but yeah, I saw that and I was like, I,
- 20:21Speaker 3: I don't know. There's no way I'm getting this one.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Right. Um, next one, these next two questions. So I'm
- 20:28Speaker 2: going to say the next two questions were wild guesses
- 20:33Speaker 2: on my part.
- 20:35Speaker 3: So, uh, the, uh, the padme anakin question and the
- 20:43Speaker 3: next three questions all wrong for me all wrong um
- 20:49Speaker 3: this this question.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I managed to get all four right.
- 20:55Speaker 3: What is the what is the capital city of tashara
- 21:00Speaker 3: mirrogana no clue I randomly picked that one. I randomly
- 21:07Speaker 3: picked that one. Belnar City was my choice for that one. Alright,
- 21:12Speaker 3: so the next question.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Approximately when did Empress Teta fight and win the Unification Wars,
- 21:17Speaker 2: conquering the Koros system and renaming it after herself? 5000 BBY. This?
- 21:26Speaker 3: I have no idea who these people are.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I have no idea who she is either. But I
- 21:30Speaker 2: said 25... Aw, thanks!
- 21:33Speaker 3: Zma97?
- 21:34Speaker 2: What's up? Welcome to the chat. I said 25,000 BBY.
- 21:42Speaker 2: That's too far in the past. Even for Legends. There's
- 21:45Speaker 2: nothing remotely in that region. 250 BBY and 50 BBY.
- 21:50Speaker 2: We know what's going on in those time frames for
- 21:52Speaker 2: Legends and Canon. So 5,000 BBY was the choice I made.
- 22:00Speaker 3: See, for me... I knew that because of High Republic,
- 22:08Speaker 3: we kind of knew... 250.
- 22:09Speaker 2: 250.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Hey, Chris. And we knew 50. So I was like, okay, cool.
- 22:18Speaker 3: We know all that.
- 22:18Speaker 2: That's where I was like, yeah, we know those.
- 22:20Speaker 3: I was like, 5,000, we might know that. But the
- 22:25Speaker 3: name was so far off of my radar that... and
- 22:30Speaker 3: I was like conquering a whole system that's gotta be
- 22:33Speaker 3: like pre pre like stuff that I don't even know
- 22:38Speaker 3: so I just picked 25,000 BBY yeah.
- 22:43Speaker 2: So apparently so apparently this is a Tales of the
- 22:50Speaker 2: Jedi legends question from the.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Comic oh okay.
- 23:01Speaker 2: And it has made appearances for the Galactic Star Cruiser
- 23:08Speaker 2: and actually for Zero Company in canon.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Okay. All right. Well, I definitely need to keep my
- 23:19Speaker 3: ears and eyes peeled for that while I'm playing.
- 23:24Speaker 2: The next question, which Grand Army of the Republic Company
- 23:27Speaker 2: fought the Battle of Tet?
- 23:30Speaker 3: Um i don't remember the battle of death.
- 23:33Speaker 2: I didn't remember either so i picked torrent um.
- 23:38Speaker 3: And i got it right i randomly picked green company
- 23:43Speaker 3: i knew green.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Company wasn't a thing so i had x'd that off
- 23:47Speaker 2: ghost company i didn't remember there being i remembered a
- 23:52Speaker 2: horn and a torrent i felt like so i was
- 23:55Speaker 2: like between those two yeah All right, this next question.
- 24:00Speaker 2: I'm so pissed off that I got this wrong.
- 24:02Speaker 3: This is a Skeleton Crew question.
- 24:04Speaker 2: It's a Skeleton Crew question, and I recognized it at least.
- 24:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:08Speaker 2: But I knew he had all of these aliases. Silvo, Andal, Renid,
- 24:15Speaker 2: and Duquesne.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Yep.
- 24:17Speaker 2: And I picked Renid.
- 24:20Speaker 3: I chose Silvo purely off of the fact that it
- 24:26Speaker 3: sounds like Captain Silver. which is from Treasure Planet, which
- 24:30Speaker 3: is what, like, the show heavily is influenced by. So
- 24:36Speaker 3: I literally just, like, I was like, oh, let's just
- 24:39Speaker 3: do Silvo, just for the fact that, like, pirates, blah, blah, blah.
- 24:43Speaker 3: And I got that one correct. Next question is, how
- 24:46Speaker 3: did Darth Vader obtain the Sith Wayfinder that pointed the
- 24:50Speaker 3: way to Exegol? This one, Long John Silver. This one,
- 25:07Speaker 3: of course, comes from the comic, the Darth Vader comic.
- 25:12Speaker 3: I got this one correct. Did you get this one correct?
- 25:15Speaker 2: I did get this one correct. I didn't remember which
- 25:17Speaker 2: run it was from, but I did get it correct.
- 25:21Speaker 3: The answer was it was given to him by the
- 25:24Speaker 3: Eye of Wabash Bog. I almost... Almost chose... He stole
- 25:34Speaker 3: it from Ochi of Bastoon.
- 25:38Speaker 2: I knew that wasn't right.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Because.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Why did I think.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Well, I was getting it confused with the dagger. I
- 25:52Speaker 3: was like, that's the dagger, not the Wayfinder. So... So
- 25:59Speaker 3: that's why I was like, oh, wait, let's think about comics.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Because Ochi reminded me of comics more so than it did, like,
- 26:07Speaker 3: novels and everything. So I was like, okay, well, if
- 26:09Speaker 3: we're looking at comics, the only thing that I can
- 26:11Speaker 3: remember from comics was the Eye of Wabash Bog.
- 26:15Speaker 2: That's right. I knew the Jedi Temple vault, he didn't
- 26:20Speaker 2: get it from because I would have remembered that from
- 26:23Speaker 2: the discussions because that's primarily in the Charles Soule run.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I knew it wasn't Ochi because he really didn't steal
- 26:31Speaker 2: anything from Ochi in, I think it's the sac run.
- 26:37Speaker 2: And then the ghost of Exar Kun. Exar Kun is not,
- 26:42Speaker 2: he's been like a cameo in one of the artifacts.
- 26:49Speaker 2: So Exar Kun is mainly a Legends reference. So that
- 26:52Speaker 2: would not have been like a canon reference. So I
- 26:56Speaker 2: X'd that one out. so yeah uh what did you
- 27:01Speaker 2: think about this java question.
- 27:03Speaker 3: This i it was literally hey point and click um
- 27:07Speaker 3: and i got this one wrong i got this one
- 27:09Speaker 3: right which java elder led his clan in this disassembling
- 27:16Speaker 3: the razor crest on our volo 7 and demanded a
- 27:22Speaker 3: mudhorn egg in exchange for parts. This, of course, is
- 27:24Speaker 3: from The Mandalorian. I knew it was from The Mandalorian.
- 27:28Speaker 3: I had literally no idea who this could even, like,
- 27:33Speaker 3: I don't remember Jawa's names. Like, does anybody? Like, come
- 27:37Speaker 3: on now.
- 27:38Speaker 2: It might have been a comic reference. Oh, that is true.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Because the comics have kind of adapted it.
- 27:44Speaker 3: That is true.
- 27:47Speaker 2: But it's Chetkopp.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Yes, this was Chet Cup. I picked neck. Neck.
- 27:54Speaker 2: I picked Chet Cup because I felt like it would
- 27:56Speaker 2: be something that a Java would say. Chris says he
- 28:02Speaker 2: does it. He's only watched the movies, didn't read the
- 28:04Speaker 2: comics or the books, but he says I'm learning by
- 28:07Speaker 2: listening to y'all though. Welcome.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Hey, welcome.
- 28:09Speaker 2: We welcome everybody.
- 28:10Speaker 3: It's good that you are learning because you could always
- 28:13Speaker 3: take this quiz next year and try to retain all
- 28:17Speaker 3: of this information for now. I feel so stupid for
- 28:21Speaker 3: this next question, by the way, guys.
- 28:23Speaker 2: I knew somebody was going to get caught by this.
- 28:26Speaker 2: This next question, which gas giant does the forest moon
- 28:30Speaker 2: of Endor orbit? It's the DragonCon quiz. It's on the
- 28:36Speaker 2: Star Wars at DragonCon social.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Media, Chris. Yes. He asked what question it was, or
- 28:41Speaker 3: what quiz is it from? So, yeah, the gas giant
- 28:46Speaker 3: that the moon of Endor orbits... Is Endor. I am
- 28:53Speaker 3: so dumb. I am so dumb. I was like, it
- 28:55Speaker 3: can't be Endor. Like, how dumb would it be if
- 28:58Speaker 3: a planet was named Endor and they gave the moon
- 29:02Speaker 3: the same name? Yeah, no, I.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Picked Except it's not Endor. It's the moon.
- 29:10Speaker 3: I picked Oridano. And I was like, oh my gosh.
- 29:18Speaker 3: The next question. Which secretly separatist-sympathizing senator– say that six
- 29:29Speaker 3: times fast– socialized inadvertently alerted– yeah, socializing inadvertently alerted the
- 29:39Speaker 3: republic to the existence of a new droid factory, prompting
- 29:43Speaker 3: the second battle of Geonosis.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Mina Bonteri was a separatist. She was not there. Anaconda
- 29:51Speaker 2: Farr was the Rodian senator, which featured in the early
- 29:56Speaker 2: parts of Clone Wars, but did not didn't get as
- 30:01Speaker 2: far as the second battle of Geonosis. I have no
- 30:05Speaker 2: clue who Hallie Bertoni is. So my only answer was
- 30:09Speaker 2: Rush Clovis.
- 30:11Speaker 3: So I, with this one, was a eeny, meeny, miny,
- 30:17Speaker 3: moe between Hallie and Rush. That's the two, because I,
- 30:25Speaker 3: Far sounded familiar and Mina sounded familiar. So I took
- 30:30Speaker 3: the first name of the first one, Sound Familiar. I
- 30:31Speaker 3: was like, okay, if it's too familiar, I feel like
- 30:34Speaker 3: that's like a Red Flags. Yeah, yeah. So I was like, okay,
- 30:40Speaker 3: can't be her. And then when I saw Far, I
- 30:42Speaker 3: was like, okay, maybe that could be it.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Clovis is the one who was flirting with Padme and
- 30:47Speaker 2: tried to have like the relationship.
- 30:50Speaker 3: I don't know if you remember that. Yes, yes. I
- 30:53Speaker 3: do remember that. And that is, that's the one where like,
- 30:57Speaker 3: you actually see for the first time in Clone Wars,
- 31:02Speaker 3: like Anakin be like emotional around Padme. And like, yeah,
- 31:11Speaker 3: but yeah. So Clovis, I did get correct. This next question.
- 31:18Speaker 2: I always get the ship once wrong.
- 31:21Speaker 3: How many engines does an Executor-class Star Dreadnought have? I
- 31:29Speaker 3: felt like 13 was too much.
- 31:33Speaker 2: I knew the Executor was, like, the high-powered, but I
- 31:37Speaker 2: thought Dreadnought was smaller than the Star Destroyer. So I
- 31:39Speaker 2: felt like, again, 13 was too much because the Dreadnought,
- 31:43Speaker 2: I believe, is smaller than the Star Destroyer. So I
- 31:46Speaker 2: was like, okay, nine.
- 31:50Speaker 3: Okay, I picked 7 on that one. So I did
- 31:53Speaker 3: not get it right either.
- 31:56Speaker 2: What model of handheld personal comlinks did Qui-Gon Jinn and
- 32:00Speaker 2: Obi-Wan Kenobi carry during their mission to Nimboo in 32 BBY?
- 32:05Speaker 2: I picked DH-107 because I felt like that was close
- 32:11Speaker 2: to the Razor that was the emulator for the comics.
- 32:17Speaker 3: That is so funny because I also picked the DH107s,
- 32:23Speaker 3: but now seeing what the correct answer is, I am
- 32:27Speaker 3: so mad because I felt like Coltech sounded weird and
- 32:35Speaker 3: Secure was too human. Yep. And I was like, it's
- 32:41Speaker 3: either DH or Hush, and I picked DH.
- 32:45Speaker 2: I felt like Hush was also too human, so that's
- 32:48Speaker 2: also where I was like, okay, I felt like it
- 32:50Speaker 2: was Caltech or DH.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Clearly went wrong.
- 32:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:56Speaker 2: This last one, complete guess, but I believe this is a,
- 33:01Speaker 2: from a certain point of view, a question from one
- 33:08Speaker 2: of the, because the.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Princess Leia throws Dantooine out as the rebel base, but
- 33:16Speaker 2: then he shoots Alderaan down anyways.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Oh, that's right.
- 33:19Speaker 2: So in that time period, there's a mission in there,
- 33:21Speaker 2: because Tarkin goes, okay, we'll send somebody to check it
- 33:24Speaker 2: out just in case. Yep. So it's who reported to
- 33:27Speaker 2: Grand Moff Tarkin that their scout ships had reached Dantooine,
- 33:29Speaker 2: but found the rebel base deserted? And I picked Adion Nedberg,
- 33:34Speaker 2: because I had no idea, and the answer was Seward Kass.
- 33:38Speaker 3: Yes, I got this one incorrect. And this is the
- 33:43Speaker 3: string of one, two, three, another four rows that I
- 33:46Speaker 3: got wrong. So the next one I did get wrong.
- 33:48Speaker 3: I got this one right. I did for the Moff
- 33:53Speaker 3: Tarkin question, I got Mordim Bast. I don't know why.
- 33:59Speaker 3: I just was like, I'm just going to pick one.
- 34:03Speaker 3: The next question. which terrorist organization assassinated the entire directorate
- 34:10Speaker 3: of the trade federation in 33 bby allowing newt gunray
- 34:17Speaker 3: to rise to power this i.
- 34:24Speaker 2: I believe this is a brotherhood question.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Is it a brotherhood question Let's see here.
- 34:35Speaker 2: But it's, uh, which sheriff's organization assassinated the entire director
- 34:39Speaker 2: of the trade fire from 33 BBY, allowing Newt Gunray
- 34:43Speaker 2: to rise to power? And the answer was the Nebula Front.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Okay, it says it's 22 BBY. Is, is, uh, Star
- 34:53Speaker 3: Wars Brotherhood.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Okay, 22 BBY is Brotherhood. So then that would not
- 34:58Speaker 2: have been, um.
- 34:59Speaker 3: This is 11 years after that. So it must have been... Wikipedia.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Says, Rise of the Separatists, and a short story.
- 35:16Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I had no idea what this was at all.
- 35:22Speaker 3: So I chose The Grey Shroud. Because honestly, I didn't...
- 35:28Speaker 3: The Nebula Front, I felt was like, that sounds like
- 35:32Speaker 3: a fake Star Wars name. and the justice action network
- 35:39Speaker 3: also felt like a fake star wars yeah.
- 35:44Speaker 2: I felt justice action was um too um too cliche
- 35:53Speaker 2: yeah um The next question. Who did Cassian and or
- 35:58Speaker 2: date or at least wake up in a hotel room
- 36:00Speaker 2: with during his brief time on Niamos in 5 BBY?
- 36:03Speaker 2: This is right before he gets arrested. And he wakes
- 36:13Speaker 2: up and then decides to go for a walk. I
- 36:16Speaker 2: answered this question too quickly. I picked Tess. The answer
- 36:21Speaker 2: was Wendy.
- 36:25Speaker 3: I almost... pick Tess and I was like wait a
- 36:27Speaker 3: second I don't believe that's correct and then when I
- 36:33Speaker 3: literally just like sat here and tried to remember I
- 36:35Speaker 3: was like okay I don't remember anybody named Kata and
- 36:40Speaker 3: Alinta I don't remember anybody's name being Alinta but I
- 36:43Speaker 3: know Tess is wrong so I I literally just like
- 36:47Speaker 3: crossed them all out until I got Wendy so Wendy
- 36:50Speaker 3: I got correct Next question is, which ancient Sith Lord
- 36:58Speaker 3: allegedly used dark alchemical rituals to turn his apprentice into stone?
- 37:08Speaker 2: And this is from Myths and Fables and Dark Legends,
- 37:15Speaker 2: which we will be reading towards the back end of
- 37:18Speaker 2: the year. So actually, we have never actually read this.
- 37:23Speaker 3: When it said turned into stone, I was like, Jesus Christ.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Apparently he is mentioned in Dooku Jedi Lost, but the
- 37:32Speaker 2: main tale for this comes from Myths and Fables.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Okay.
- 37:40Speaker 2: So I picked Darth Momin. The answer is Darth Kaldor.
- 37:44Speaker 2: We're on the same page at least. So I also...
- 37:50Speaker 2: This is another question where I knew the answer to this,
- 37:53Speaker 2: and I read it too fast. Which agency of the
- 37:55Speaker 2: Galactic Empire was led by Armand Isard as of 14 BBY?
- 37:59Speaker 2: If you think of Isard, and you've read Star Wars Legends,
- 38:04Speaker 2: at least the X-Wing series, then you would say, Isard, oh,
- 38:08Speaker 2: that's ISB. You also look at....
- 38:14Speaker 3: You could also.
- 38:16Speaker 2: He does, I believe, appear in the ISB for canon.
- 38:20Speaker 2: But in the early days of the Galactic Empire, he
- 38:24Speaker 2: actually served for the Commission for the Preservation of the
- 38:28Speaker 2: New Order. So this is another question where you just
- 38:31Speaker 2: have to read it over and think about it.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Yeah. I got that one correct, thankfully. Next one. I
- 38:41Speaker 3: am so mad that I got this wrong. But I
- 38:46Speaker 3: don't believe... So the general.
- 38:53Speaker 2: I think this is a comic question.
- 38:55Speaker 3: Is it a comic question? Because I could have sworn
- 38:59Speaker 3: the general that comes in on the show asks, hey,
- 39:07Speaker 3: what's wrong with that such and such unit? And it's
- 39:13Speaker 3: supposed to be Two boots. Q, hello, hello.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Thank you for dropping by. So the question here is,
- 39:25Speaker 3: what model of droids were the two boots and other
- 39:28Speaker 3: mechanical members of... the Jan X police force? I had
- 39:35Speaker 3: zero clue what the general had said. If that line
- 39:40Speaker 3: is actually spoken in the show, because I could have
- 39:44Speaker 3: sworn it was like, he actually like spoke to the
- 39:48Speaker 3: officer was like, Oh, What is wrong with that such
- 39:51Speaker 3: and such droid? And I thought it was a GU
- 39:56Speaker 3: series guardian police droid.
- 39:59Speaker 2: See, I picked Levo.
- 40:05Speaker 3: The correct answer was the tactical defense droid.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Yeah. The next question, which I believe is a repeat
- 40:15Speaker 2: from last year as well. Because I felt like I
- 40:18Speaker 2: recognized this question. But it's, which of the following creatures
- 40:21Speaker 2: is the furriest? And it's the Merkhal, which I got correct.
- 40:25Speaker 3: I could not remember this question whatsoever. And I did
- 40:30Speaker 3: not get this correct. I was like, the Ravenac? I
- 40:34Speaker 3: don't know. I'm just clicking away. Let's see what the
- 40:37Speaker 3: next question is. This is the row of six questions
- 40:41Speaker 3: that I got wrong. So the two boots question was wrong.
- 40:46Speaker 3: This one was wrong. And the next one, two, three,
- 40:48Speaker 3: four are going to be wrong on my end. So
- 40:51Speaker 3: the next one is, which member of Delta Squad fell
- 40:56Speaker 3: defending the Imperial facility at Mount Tantis in approximately 18 BBY? Katie,
- 41:04Speaker 3: if you got this right.
- 41:05Speaker 2: This is a bad batch question. I did get this right.
- 41:09Speaker 3: How is this a Bad Batch question? This... Because.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Mount Tantis is the cloning facility that is in Bad Batch.
- 41:22Speaker 3: I know that, but Delta Squad....
- 41:25Speaker 2: So Delta Squad, so these are the troopers that you
- 41:28Speaker 2: see in, I believe it's the second season. And Delta Squad,
- 41:34Speaker 2: so I believe Steph, Fixer, and Boss... Are Legends Delta
- 41:39Speaker 2: Squad members.
- 41:40Speaker 3: They are Legends.
- 41:44Speaker 2: So.
- 41:44Speaker 3: I don't remember. Them saying their names. In Bad Batch.
- 41:51Speaker 3: I only remember them. From literally the video game. Republic Commando.
- 41:59Speaker 3: That's where I remember. These characters from. And I was like.
- 42:04Speaker 3: I have no idea. I didn't know that they were
- 42:07Speaker 3: at Mount Tantis. Not remembering that these characters were from
- 42:13Speaker 3: Bad Batch.
- 42:15Speaker 2: The Bad Batch clones, I think it's Hunter, actually addressed
- 42:21Speaker 2: him by his name in.
- 42:24Speaker 1: This.
- 42:24Speaker 3: Oh, that's so cool. I need to go back. I
- 42:27Speaker 3: can't believe I didn't catch that when we were talking
- 42:29Speaker 3: about it. jeez louise that's talked.
- 42:32Speaker 2: About how like republic commando.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Uh yeah so so the.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Next question is a clone wars question and i could
- 42:41Speaker 2: not remember this i knew it was a clone wars
- 42:43Speaker 2: question i knew which episode it was i did.
- 42:45Speaker 3: Not so hold on hold on did they actually name
- 42:49Speaker 3: the successor in that episode so i couldn't remember at
- 42:56Speaker 3: all if they actually named the successor Because I know
- 43:00Speaker 3: that Santel died in the episode. Like, with her dying breath,
- 43:08Speaker 3: she's talking to who is Anakin, I believe. I think
- 43:16Speaker 3: near the end of that episode. But I couldn't remember
- 43:20Speaker 3: if in that episode they actually named a successor.
- 43:25Speaker 2: So I don't, so it says his appearances are only
- 43:28Speaker 2: those three episodes for the arc. So I would guess
- 43:34Speaker 2: so that like, hey, this is like the assumption that
- 43:38Speaker 2: because he's like my second in command, he is the successor.
- 43:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:43Speaker 2: So it's who succeeded Queen Mirage Sintel as monarch of Zagiria,
- 43:48Speaker 2: which is the episode where Anakin goes undercover as a
- 43:51Speaker 2: slave master. Ahsoka is the quote-unquote, slave. The queen dies.
- 43:57Speaker 2: The correct answer was a Thai mullet. And I guessed
- 44:01Speaker 2: Farzara Paraball.
- 44:03Speaker 3: But we are on the same wavelength. I don't know how.
- 44:07Speaker 3: This is so funny. But yes, I got that one
- 44:10Speaker 3: wrong as well. The next question. Which starship manufacturer was
- 44:17Speaker 3: known for producing fighters with variable geometry wings? Yeah, geometry wings,
- 44:25Speaker 3: including the Republic's B-19 Torrents and the Rebellion's B-Wings. I
- 44:32Speaker 3: did not get this one correct, because all of these
- 44:36Speaker 3: sounded like Joe Schmo down the street from me.
- 44:41Speaker 2: So this is mainly a Rebels question. Kuat Systems Engineering
- 44:48Speaker 2: is a planet-based system, and I knew that the B-Wing...
- 44:51Speaker 2: I don't know if you remember the Rebels episode where
- 44:56Speaker 2: it's one of the later seasons, but Hera actually goes
- 44:59Speaker 2: to this planet and it's a tough to fly through
- 45:01Speaker 2: planet where actually people crash trying to land on the planet.
- 45:05Speaker 2: And it's the Mon Cal guy.
- 45:08Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 45:10Speaker 2: So I knew it wasn't Kwat because Kwat is a
- 45:13Speaker 2: planet-based system engineering corporation. So that one would not be there.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Same thing with Republic signage systems. So I was down
- 45:23Speaker 2: to Lorinar Manufacturing and Slanen Corpul. And it was Slanen Corpul.
- 45:29Speaker 2: And I picked Lorinar.
- 45:31Speaker 3: I picked Lorinar as well. Next question.
- 45:37Speaker 2: So because you don't like broad.
- 45:39Speaker 3: So this question, I saw this question. I was like,
- 45:42Speaker 3: this is one of the only questions that me and Katie...
- 45:47Speaker 3: are going to be like, she's going to get it right,
- 45:48Speaker 3: and I'm going to get it wrong, and I'm going
- 45:50Speaker 3: to feel stupid. Now, I have not read, like.
- 45:55Speaker 2: The Ascendancy Trilogy.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Thick Ascendancy Trilogy, where all of this is probably answered.
- 46:01Speaker 3: They probably could have said it in the Thrawn Trilogy.
- 46:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:07Speaker 3: When, what's his name?
- 46:09Speaker 2: Eli. In the early chapters.
- 46:12Speaker 3: When he goes and trains with them or whatever.
- 46:15Speaker 2: Um....
- 46:17Speaker 3: I probably should have known this.
- 46:20Speaker 2: What did you guess?
- 46:22Speaker 3: Sybesty.
- 46:24Speaker 2: So the question, I can't remember who said the question.
- 46:26Speaker 2: What is the primary language of the Chiss ascendancy? Sybesty
- 46:30Speaker 2: is the language that Eli uses to communicate to him
- 46:34Speaker 2: because it's a trade language. Miskoth is a secondary language
- 46:38Speaker 2: that comes in later on.
- 46:41Speaker 3: Okay, I was like, that's why it sounds so familiar. Okay.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Miskoth is also mentioned in that trilogy. I believe it's
- 46:48Speaker 2: Thrawn Treason where that's mainly used. But then, so the
- 46:52Speaker 2: other two options were Evokey and Shino. And I remembered
- 47:01Speaker 2: that it started with a C.
- 47:03Speaker 3: So I picked Shino. Shino, yeah. So Sybesty is literally
- 47:09Speaker 3: there just to trick you and it got me.
- 47:11Speaker 2: It got me. Yeah. Yeah.
- 47:22Speaker 3: Um, so whatever became of his, uh, excellency mock shies
- 47:30Speaker 3: mayor of Moss Espa and its surrounding plateaus. This is
- 47:37Speaker 3: a book of Boba Fett question. And this, you had
- 47:43Speaker 3: to watch the last episode all the way to the end, um,
- 47:49Speaker 3: in order to get this right. And I know there's
- 47:52Speaker 3: a lot of people that are thinking, wait, you have
- 47:54Speaker 3: to watch the entire series of Book of Boba Fett?
- 47:57Speaker 3: I couldn't even get through the first two episodes.
- 48:00Speaker 2: I don't think it's the last episode. I think it's
- 48:01Speaker 2: like episode four.
- 48:04Speaker 3: No, it's the last.
- 48:07Speaker 2: Because it's like with the pikes. Because he's hiding with
- 48:09Speaker 2: the pikes and she goes to take him out. Okay.
- 48:12Speaker 2: I didn't remember that being the last episode.
- 48:14Speaker 3: It's either the last or the second to last episode.
- 48:19Speaker 3: But it is one of the last episodes because the
- 48:22Speaker 3: Pykes don't engage until like that until it was either.
- 48:32Speaker 3: It may have been like the episode before the second
- 48:36Speaker 3: to last because the last two episodes are the Rancor episodes.
- 48:41Speaker 2: Yeah, because I believe the murder of the Pyke leadership
- 48:45Speaker 2: plus the mayor triggers the Pyke battle.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Yeah yeah you're right um.
- 48:51Speaker 2: The next question what was the carbon freezing chamber on
- 48:55Speaker 2: cloud city designed to be used for um and the
- 49:00Speaker 2: answer was industrial gas processing.
- 49:02Speaker 3: I guessed because the i didn't guess it was process
- 49:06Speaker 3: of elimination because i knew that the carbonite freezing was
- 49:16Speaker 3: supposed to be torturous, not- Yeah. intentional so I was
- 49:21Speaker 3: like okay and that's what makes the like whole thing
- 49:26Speaker 3: with the Mandalorian doing it like oh they created a
- 49:32Speaker 3: fad they created a system that they're like hey this
- 49:35Speaker 3: is actually working out for us you know in the
- 49:37Speaker 3: future so I was like, okay, it's not food preservation.
- 49:42Speaker 3: That's weird. And I was like, it can't be prisoners.
- 49:46Speaker 3: So it has to be solidifying coaxium or industrial gas processing.
- 49:51Speaker 3: And I just remember the room that Han was in.
- 49:55Speaker 3: I was like, that's got to be something with the
- 49:57Speaker 3: city and the gas and stuff. So I picked that one.
- 50:00Speaker 2: And this is another one where I answered too fast
- 50:03Speaker 2: because Cloud City is known for Tabana gas processing, not coaxium.
- 50:09Speaker 2: So I picked coaxium ingots. Same reasoning. I was like, okay,
- 50:14Speaker 2: it's either coaxium or gas. I didn't think through my answer.
- 50:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:20Speaker 2: But yes. I believe this next question is from a
- 50:24Speaker 2: certain point of view returns, which member of the Death
- 50:27Speaker 2: Star 2's shield bunker garrison did Han Solo hit with
- 50:29Speaker 2: a toolbox and knock over railing into the generator room?
- 50:35Speaker 3: I knew that it was. Yeah, I knew it was
- 50:37Speaker 3: from a certain point of view. I couldn't remember the
- 50:40Speaker 3: name for the life of me, so I just guessed
- 50:42Speaker 3: and I got it wrong.
- 50:44Speaker 2: Yeah, same.
- 50:46Speaker 3: Who'd you pick?
- 50:48Speaker 2: I picked Lieutenant Igar.
- 50:51Speaker 3: Oh, I picked Renz, Commander Renz.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I felt like it would have been a low-level person,
- 50:57Speaker 2: so I picked Lieutenant.
- 51:03Speaker 3: So the next question is, is what class of ship
- 51:07Speaker 3: was the Twilight?
- 51:10Speaker 2: I guessed it. I got it right.
- 51:12Speaker 3: This one was also a guess for me as well.
- 51:15Speaker 3: I don't remember how I got to my guesstimation, whether
- 51:24Speaker 3: it was just a point and click or if I
- 51:28Speaker 3: any money mowed it or whatever, but it is G9
- 51:31Speaker 3: Rigger Class Light Raider.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Oh, and this is a Clone Wars question. This is
- 51:38Speaker 2: his ship. This is Anakin's extra ship in the Clone Wars.
- 51:45Speaker 3: Oh, okay. Okay. Yeah, I couldn't remember what the Twilight was. Yeah,
- 51:50Speaker 3: I couldn't either. Next question. Which younger brother of Maul
- 51:58Speaker 3: and Savage did Savage have to kill as part of
- 52:03Speaker 3: his training?
- 52:04Speaker 2: Another Clone Wars question. I also got it wrong.
- 52:09Speaker 3: This one I got it right. This one I knew
- 52:16Speaker 3: from just remembering. It was Feral.
- 52:22Speaker 2: I did not remember. Another Skeleton Crew question after that.
- 52:27Speaker 2: What was the name of the giant trash crab that
- 52:29Speaker 2: the Skeleton Crew encountered on La Nupa around 9 ABY?
- 52:33Speaker 2: I picked trashy.
- 52:34Speaker 3: I picked trashy because this is not given. I feel
- 52:40Speaker 3: like this is from the making of Skeleton Crew type
- 52:44Speaker 3: of like behind the scenes type of stuff. And so
- 52:49Speaker 3: because of that, I'm like, oh, if like a whole
- 52:53Speaker 3: bunch of cast and crew members are doing stop motion
- 52:56Speaker 3: on this giant trash crab, what would you name it?
- 53:01Speaker 2: Especially with kids being involved. I was like, 100% trashy.
- 53:07Speaker 2: If it is from behind the scenes, Tetanus, which is
- 53:10Speaker 2: the correct answer, makes the most sense because that's what
- 53:13Speaker 2: a lot of people do with these creatures is make
- 53:15Speaker 2: a running.
- 53:15Speaker 3: Joke kind of thing.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Which planet are Gundarks native to?
- 53:24Speaker 1: I guess.
- 53:25Speaker 2: I said Bangor.
- 53:26Speaker 3: I got it right. Bangor. Yeah, I don't know how
- 53:28Speaker 3: I got this one right. I, I just pointed and
- 53:31Speaker 3: clicked for this one. And this is like, we're getting
- 53:34Speaker 3: closer to the end game here. And so, uh, I
- 53:40Speaker 3: felt rushed because Abby and Amberlynn were like, are you done?
- 53:43Speaker 3: Are you done? Are you done? Like, so these are really,
- 53:46Speaker 3: really quick for me on the, on the bottom end.
- 53:49Speaker 3: And I think I did pretty good. Uh, except for
- 53:52Speaker 3: this next one. Uh, which Federation freighter was Varosh, uh, Varosha. Sorry.
- 54:00Speaker 3: Anissa working on when she was arrested by the Jedi
- 54:06Speaker 3: in 132 BBY. Of course, this is the Acolyte question.
- 54:10Speaker 2: Yes, and it's the first episode.
- 54:13Speaker 3: Yes, Osha.
- 54:14Speaker 2: And I got it wrong.
- 54:17Speaker 3: I got it wrong as well. The answer was Fallon.
- 54:24Speaker 3: I chose DFS 1138.
- 54:28Speaker 2: I chose Rem Merchant Einem.
- 54:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I had no idea. I was like, do they
- 54:34Speaker 3: even mention it? Like, again, it becomes a question of,
- 54:38Speaker 3: is it behind the scenes? Is it a just like weird, like, oh,
- 54:44Speaker 3: this is actually something that was named prior. Yeah. Like
- 54:47Speaker 3: kind of thing. Very, very weird. What's the next question?
- 54:53Speaker 2: What kind of creature did the Hutt twins keep in
- 54:55Speaker 2: the dungeon of her palace on the Hutta as of 980?
- 54:58Speaker 3: Why?
- 54:59Speaker 2: Mandalorian crew question.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Yes.
- 55:00Speaker 3: Dragon snake. It's a dragon snake. This one I did
- 55:05Speaker 3: remember immediately. As soon as I finished the question, I
- 55:09Speaker 3: was like, oh, that's from the movie that we literally
- 55:12Speaker 3: just watched not too long ago.
- 55:13Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 55:14Speaker 3: So that was the easy question, I feel like.
- 55:17Speaker 2: The next question, what was General Grievous' name before he
- 55:19Speaker 2: became General Grievous? I remembered it started.
- 55:22Speaker 1: With a Q.
- 55:23Speaker 2: And I got it right.
- 55:24Speaker 3: I remember Jai. I didn't remember the first name. I
- 55:27Speaker 3: remember Jai. So I can't remember how long ago, but
- 55:34Speaker 3: I think it came around when we were talking about
- 55:38Speaker 3: the hyperspace stories, Grievous.
- 55:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:42Speaker 3: That's when his original name came up in conversation. It
- 55:46Speaker 3: wasn't in the comic, but that's when we started to
- 55:49Speaker 3: talk about it. And that's how I remembered, oh, Jai
- 55:54Speaker 3: is in his name, so I know this is it.
- 55:57Speaker 2: Yeah. The next question is an Andor question. What was
- 56:02Speaker 2: the national anthem of the planet Gorman?
- 56:04Speaker 3: Did you get it right?
- 56:06Speaker 2: Gamble to Gorn. No, this was another one where I
- 56:09Speaker 2: should have read the question a little bit better, and
- 56:14Speaker 2: I just rushed to get an answer.
- 56:15Speaker 3: This, I knew the basic... translation and i didn't know
- 56:22Speaker 3: the gorman so i was looking for we are the
- 56:26Speaker 3: gore and then when i read through them i was
- 56:29Speaker 3: like wait a minute gore it's in gore it's in
- 56:34Speaker 3: the actual language i was like oh that makes sense
- 56:36Speaker 3: so i.
- 56:37Speaker 2: Clicked it all right yeah i picked all stars burn
- 56:40Speaker 2: as one again should have thought about it a little
- 56:44Speaker 2: bit longer uh this next question is jedi fallen order question.
- 56:49Speaker 3: Yes, which ancient Zephironian sage was an authoritarian darksider who
- 56:58Speaker 3: ruled from a temple on Dathomir? I.
- 57:04Speaker 2: I did not get this right.
- 57:06Speaker 3: I should have gotten this right.
- 57:08Speaker 2: I guess Lakros.
- 57:11Speaker 3: I chose Elram, but the correct answer is Kujet.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Yep. The next question is, what did Boss name the
- 57:23Speaker 2: Z-95 headhunter he kept docked in the Houndstooth? No clue.
- 57:28Speaker 2: I think this is a Bounty Hunters comment question. I
- 57:30Speaker 2: picked the claw.
- 57:32Speaker 3: Same. I was like, how the hell am I supposed
- 57:36Speaker 3: to know? Let's just choose one. Not Toppup. Yeah. The
- 57:42Speaker 3: next question, who was the Patient Zero... who brought a
- 57:47Speaker 3: Geonosian brain worm infestation onto Republic Medical Frigate TB73 in
- 57:54Speaker 3: 21 BBY. I picked Edge. Oh, no. I did get
- 58:01Speaker 3: this one right.
- 58:02Speaker 2: I knew it was a Pulsar, and I knew it
- 58:06Speaker 2: was a Barris.
- 58:08Speaker 3: I knew it wasn't Barris, and I knew it wasn't Pulsar,
- 58:13Speaker 3: but I genuinely had to guess. Edge was almost my answer,
- 58:17Speaker 3: but I was like, I think I'm just going to
- 58:19Speaker 3: go with Scythe. And I got it correct. But that
- 58:23Speaker 3: one was a process of elimination question. Which Resurgent-class Star
- 58:30Speaker 3: Destroyer was destroyed at the Battle of Barabesh in 34 ABY?
- 58:33Speaker 3: I got this one wrong. I got this one wrong
- 58:35Speaker 3: as well. I chose Steadfast, and it is the Thunderer
- 58:50Speaker 3: is the correct answer.
- 58:51Speaker 2: And this is apparently a Resistance question. I did not
- 58:58Speaker 2: remember there being Battle of Barabash.
- 59:01Speaker 3: We went so quickly through Resistance. It was a boom, boom.
- 59:08Speaker 3: like I remember watching an entire season in like basically
- 59:11Speaker 3: a day um when we did the review.
- 59:17Speaker 2: Which is so funny because now that we're in um
- 59:20Speaker 2: the new Jedi order and we're getting Saba who is
- 59:24Speaker 2: a Barabash yeah um so The next question, what rank
- 59:30Speaker 2: did CC-1138 Bacara hold in the Grand Army of the Republic?
- 59:36Speaker 2: The correct answer was Marshal Commander. I picked Regimental.
- 59:40Speaker 3: I chose Senior Commander. I had no idea. This one
- 59:49Speaker 3: I also did not know. I probably should have known.
- 59:53Speaker 3: What was the Rebel Alliance's codename for the hunt for
- 59:56Speaker 3: Galen Ersov? I couldn't for the life of me remember this.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: I know that it's a Rogue One.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: Rogue One question.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: Question. But I chose Concord.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I picked Fracture. It vaguely sounded familiar.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: Yeah. That was it.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: Next question is, which Jedi splinter group created an artificial
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: intelligence based on the consciousness of one of its founders,
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: which then massacred them? This was a complete guess.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: This was a complete guess. This is, it looks like
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: it's mainly a Dr. Aphra question, which both of us
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: have really not gotten a whole lot into Dr. Aphra.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: So I guessed Kofar Circle.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: I got it correct. Okay. With Ordo Aspectu. I literally just,
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: I remember this just pointing and clicking because we were,
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: this was the last three questions. Yeah.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: It's in the audio book. It's in the 2016 run.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: And the vaguely mentioned in the 2020 run.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: So.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: Next question is a Rebels question. It's our second to
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: last question, guys. I know we've been here for an
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: hour now, but we really enjoy doing these things and
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: talking through our answers.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: Yeah, the quiz is actually a lot of fun. Go
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: ahead with the next question.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Where did Ezra Bridger live immediately before he was recruited
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: by the Spectres? And I remember the comm tower.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: But I.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: Got it right.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: The comm tower is after. This one is sector. Well, no, no, no, no. Sorry.
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: The comm tower was correct. I was confused because of
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: Where he originally lived.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: Yeah. Which was the level.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: Yes. So I chose sector GL44. That's what I chose.
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: Instead of the comm tower. But our last question.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: This is the one that I failed.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: Because. It sounds ridiculous. It sounds ridiculous. But the question is.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: And this does say. This question will remain on the test.
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: Until at least 25%. of you get it right which
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: is which animal native to rothana inspired the design of
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: the grand army of the republic's att walker i got
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: this wrong last year but i remembered how ridiculous the
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: name sounded and that's why i got it right this
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: year the answer is the arctic horny welmer And that
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: is it, guys. All 50 questions, Katie and I both
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: got 22 correct. Of course, with this one hour of
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: reviewing all these, some that I got wrong, she got correct,
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: and some that she got wrong, I got correct. So
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: it's not exactly a one-for-one on those 22 questions, but
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: this is fun. This is a lot of fun. I
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: encourage everybody to do this every single year, especially when
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: you get to see the challenge of like, hey, This
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: is the average number of questions that people in person
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: got correct.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: For sure. It's a lot of fun. And I always
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: enjoy sending it to family members and just being like,
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: you know what, just see what you can do.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: So, yeah.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: But now on to the final topic of the night.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: Hiding from the dark. A middle grade horror story. Which.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: By Kirsten White. Kirsten White.
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: Guys.
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: So.
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: I'm going to be honest. I listened to this.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: Which.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: I will say. The audio production. By Listening Library. Is
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: very good production. it is narrated primarily by Georgiana Marie
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: with an appearance by Mark Thompson I believe he does
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: like some of the droid voices.
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: He does all of the male voices okay so it's
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: like this really truly a duet kind of thing and
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: I want to say right now for Penguin Random House
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: for just Lucasfilm Publishing everybody This is how you narrate
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: a book. I appreciate when everybody does the voices, like
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: when one person does all the voices, whether that be
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: a male or a female, I truly love it. This
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: felt so natural.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: I love a duet. And I'm glad you said it
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: was a duet because I really felt like he did
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: all the male voices, but I couldn't tell. It was
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: so good.
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: The big thing about becoming such a Star Wars nerd
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: in the last six years now is the fact that
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: I've gotten really acquainted with Mark Thompson's voice. Mark Thompson
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: is a very talented voice actor. I'm not going to
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: say that he's not. But I will say when he does.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Young characters' voices, alien voices, and his version of Darth Vader,
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: I immediately can tell, oh, this is Mark Thompson.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: See, I get into the zone and I can't really tell.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: Now, what I really appreciate is, can you remind me
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: of the other... narrator's name.
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: Georgiana?
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: Georgiana? Georgiana? I need you to narrate every young woman book.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: And the reason why this is a very minute detail
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: that I think really sold it as a young adult
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: book or a young reader's book The fact that you
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: kept a nasally narration truly felt childlike when reading this book.
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: Because reading the entire thing, like, and also, I will say,
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: kudos to Kirsten White.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: Phenomenal book. I love this a lot more than Padawan,
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: and that's all I'm going to say about Padawan. Yes.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: Because I don't want to drag on. This was perfect.
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: And that was one thing that I wanted to bring up.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: Because art is subjective. We've talked about how we have
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: our opinions, that we love things, and we don't like
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: other things. We both agreed that we liked Padawan, but
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: it wasn't the best. This was ten times better than...
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: From your reaction, I feel like this book, we appreciate
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: a lot more coming out of Kirsten White than Padawan.
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: And that's not to say, hey, don't do those types
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: of books. But this type of writing, having a female lead,
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: it being in the horror genre, all of these different
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: aspects of the story, I think really did wonders for Kirsten.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: And it was just so much fun.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: It felt original. And that is the thing that we've
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: been trying to do. Like we've been trying to like
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: coax out of Star Wars is I want an original tale.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: And I don't want to have to go through 10
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: adventures where a Padawan finds themselves, basically. Yes.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: Basically. Yes, yes, 100%.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: I think that has been a standard with the young
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: adult books, especially towards the end of Disney's contract on
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: the young adult books. So I'm excited, after seeing Eyes
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: Like Stars... and hiding from the dark. This really thrills
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: me to get to see original stories coming for a
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: different generation and not just the adult books. I will say, guys,
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: if this is technically a middle grade book. Oh, the
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: other thing I wanted to say about the audio production
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: before I delve into other things. There is a high
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: pitch whistling in parts of the book. I did not
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: handle that very well, Being a migraine sufferer.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: So.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: That is like the one downside. But it's towards the
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: back end of the book guys.
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: Narratively. It is there for a reason.
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: It is there for a reason.
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: It didn't even dawn on me. Because I know that
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: about you. And then. Now that you're saying it. I'm
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: like oh crap. That's totally.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: I was in the middle of a migraine. When I
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: first started listening to this. And so all you see.
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: So. Just be aware of that. With the production. It
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: is there for a reason. And I appreciate the effort.
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: That they put into a middle grade production. Because. The
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: very good audio book. That we had talked about. With
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: like some of the other. Like some of the higher
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: public books. Where we were like. this is just a
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: very plain audio book.
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: And that's, that's something else that I did want to
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: mention is the fact that like the sound design for
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: this book felt very, very special. Especially when the entire
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: point of this book and we can really treat this
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: as like our non-spoiler part of the conversation. And then
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: we can get into spoilers. But the entire purpose of
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: this book is to be in the point of view
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: of a child all alone trying to find her mother
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: in the greater Star Wars universe.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: A 12 year old child, by the way.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: Yes. But still, when you look at like all the
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: things that she had to do and all of this
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: other stuff, like, It's going to be a scary universe.
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: It's going to be a scary world. So feeling that
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: was very real with all of the sound design that
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: was in this book. So I really, really appreciate that.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: 100%. Really enjoyed it. Very good production. Other than just
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: my personal preference, I don't like the squeal. High pitch thing.
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: Just as a reference for people, again, Disney is not
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: publishing these books anymore, Penguin Random House is. So you've
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: actually got a different format than the previous middle grade books.
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: It is much taller than the High Republic middle grade books.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: This is, if you're on YouTube, this is about where
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: the High Republic middle grade books end up. is this
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: Star Wars horror label on the side. It is probably
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: the same width of the High Republic middle grade books.
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: I would say so.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: It's as tall as the young adult books hardcovers, basically.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: So that's where it is on my shelf. But just
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: as a heads up, because I know we talked about
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: that with Eyes Like Stars, with it coming, it's paperback
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: and not a hardcover. It didn't come out in hardcover.
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: So just talking again about the different formatting things. But
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: as far as horror, and this is, I would still
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: consider this non-spoiler, but I did not consider this super
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: horror for an adult. There is some noises in the
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: audio book. but I was not like freaking out kind
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: of thing. I don't know how a kid would react.
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: So funny that you mentioned that because I was kind
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: of thinking the exact same thing. When we talk about
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: horror in or on this podcast, we've read some young
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: adult and adult novels that have aspects of horror in
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: that of Master of Evil, some parts of Shadows of
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: the Sith, even looking at the High Republic when you
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: look at Tears of the Nameless and all of that stuff.
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: There was some intense moments to get your blood pumping
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: type of moments. So as an experiment... Right before we
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: started recording, we were finishing the last like 10 chapters.
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: I took the audio book off of my headphones, put
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: my phone on my chest and just followed along while
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: Amberlynn was in the room. And as soon as this
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: is a minor spoiler, you heard Darth Vader's breathing.
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: Darth Vader's on the cover. I don't consider that a spoiler.
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: It's a little bit of a spoiler because of an
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: aspect that I do want to bring up in the
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: spoiler section of this review. When she heard the breathing
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: of Darth Vader, she turned around and looked at me. Yeah.
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: I could totally see that. She was like, what is that?
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: I said, that's Darth Vader. And she looked at the book.
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: She's like, who's that girl? And she started asking questions.
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: And I was like, well, Darth Vader is trying to
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: get the little girl who's... And she was like... She
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: got all big-eyed and stuff. She's like, is this too...
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: And I asked her, is this too scary? She goes, no,
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: not too scary. And then she just would listen and listen.
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: So I also did it to want to get Amberlynn
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: into audiobooks, but I did one of the tests to
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: see how scared somebody could get of her age. She's
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: turning four in a week um or two weeks so
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: i just wanted to see um and yeah i don't
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: think this is too scary but there are moments in
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: this book that are definitely motivated by the horror genre
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: yeah so i i i do like that i don't
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: know if kirsten has done other horror books um in
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: any other age group. But if she has done adult horror,
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: I wouldn't mind seeing what she can do in those books.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: She's done a lot of children's books. Sinister... Words. Sinister
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: Summer is a fantastically spooky series. Hiding from the Dark
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: and The Beanstalker and other hilarious scary tales so she's
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: kind of like twisted things a little bit with her
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: children's books um Wild and Wicked um The House of
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: Quiet um The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein. So she's
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: got a couple creepy books, I feel like. In terms
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: of the rest of my non-spoiler thoughts that are related
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: to the content of the book itself, I really enjoyed
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: Bia as a character. She felt childlike while still trying
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: to figure out the galaxy and feeling like she did
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: belong in Star Wars, which is, I feel like, a
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: big trait that can get missed with the middle grade
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: books sometimes is making sure that they feel like a
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: child but still belong in the Star Wars galaxy. I
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: really enjoyed that. I enjoyed the Navi droid. I thought
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: he was hysterical. And What is the... What is the
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: friend's name?
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: Little boy's name.
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: Nevick. Nevick.
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: I got really pissed off with him. But the way
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: a kid acts kind of pissed off.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: And and i think that is very done very purposefully
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: um nevik is a kid who and he's older like
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: but not by much uh from what the book describes
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: um nevik is a kid who is stereotypically like a,
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: and I, I don't know if I'll get canceled by this,
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: but I think you'll understand what I'm trying to get
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: at because it did kind of point that way. At
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: some point, he is like a mama's boy without a mom. Um,
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: because it, it does describe that like, Oh, she was
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: in their life at some point. And then she unfortunately died,
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: I believe was the story. But like, you can kind
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: of tell by the stereotype of like the father being
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: like verbally abusive and like all of these other things,
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: he's very enclosed and very to himself. I really enjoyed
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: Nevik as the character that is supposed to push the
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: be along her journey. I did like him in that aspect.
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: But the spoiler that I didn't want to say prior,
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: and now I'm going to go ahead and just rip
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: the bandaid off since we're in the spoiler territory. I
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: love that in all 238 pages, sorry, 233 pages of
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: this book, the name Darth Vader is not spoken at all.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: It's like the Legends of Luke Skywalker book.
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: Him, it, that thing, that is all that is described
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: when talking about Darth Vader. This is exactly what I
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: want in other Darth Vader books. Like, there was a
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: heavily rumored... Suicide Squad movie back in the day and
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: technically there is an animated movie that does this premise
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: but apparently it was supposed to be done in live
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: action also but like Suicide Squad was going to be
- 1:21:26Speaker 3: the protagonist of the story and Batman was going to
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: be the antagonist but Batman was only supposed to be
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: like a dark shadow throughout the entire movie. Yeah. Just
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: like this. Darth Vader is a supernatural presence, Tobiah. She
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: describes him as like blacker than darkness, darker than darkness.
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: His eyes are not even shells of a helmet. They
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: are just an abyss. Like all of these like different
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: things that are.
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: Just such cool detail.
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: I love it. This is the kind of stuff that
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: I want more when it comes to Darth Vader in
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: other stories. So I would really love for this to
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: keep happening. Not even necessarily in horror. specific genres like
- 1:22:36Speaker 3: but if Darth Vader is gonna be in a book
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: but you don't want him to be like the main
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: character write him like this and I will be exactly okay.
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: Like the stuff of nightmares is where Darth Vader lives
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: in this like literally because Bia talks about like how
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: she just has this nightmare and I would actually have
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: loved to get like a little bit more detail on
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: like why darth vader is her nightmare i.
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: Am willing to guess that her mother did have an
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: encounter with him at some point when she was too
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: little to remember yeah so in her subconscious the breathing
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: is still there oh.
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: Yeah that makes sense.
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: That's what i think we can heck in at this
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: yeah That's what I'm headcanoning. I, yeah, that totally makes sense.
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: And just the way that the nightmares are described. And
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: then when Bia actually gets interactions with Darth Vader and
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: she's like, this is my nightmare. Like, why is my
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: nightmare here? Like to the point where she literally pinches
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: herself the first time it happens. Yeah. And she's like,
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: this is, this is a nightmare. Like I'm okay. I'm
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: going to do this and I'm going to come out
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: of it.
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: And she's like, Oh crap.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: Why does that hurt? Oh crap. Oh crap.
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: But to the point where, when she finally has time
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: to like semi relax, she goes to the bed that
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: is offered to her and looks and sees that her
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: bed is just a cot that is literally laying on
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: the ground. And she's like, Oh, thank God. Nothing can
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: be underneath me. Because she believes. That Darth Vader. Is
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: under her bed. Completely childlike. Yeah. I loved the way.
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: Darth Vader was such. A. Like I said. Supernatural presence
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: in this story. I think it was so much fun.
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: I really liked. The way. And so like. I like this,
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: but like, of course the now new parent in me
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: also is, is judging by his mother a little bit.
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: But the fact that like, Oh, she made it like
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: a puzzle and a treasure hunt and a game for
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: her to be able to escape by herself and do
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: all these different things.
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: But it's like just little hints that will, that keep
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: it childlike for her. And go, oh, this is your
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: escape hatch. Or, like, hey, I love you.
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: But, like, at what point do you, like, at what
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: point is a child old enough for you to confidently
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: say things that you're not going to have to be
- 1:25:46Speaker 3: worried about them telling anybody else? Like, that's the real worry, right?
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: Like, especially, like, with how she is in Imperial schools
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: and having to deal with all of those parts of
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: it Um, like the biggest question for Bia is really
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: like her mom telling her and not risking being overheard.
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: I also feel like just because of how heavily monitored
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: Coruscant is, like even in your own home, like you
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: have no idea working for the empire. If that is, um,
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: like if the empire has been in your home, like
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: are there bugs in your Like, that kind of thing. So,
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: I feel like there was a lot at stake that, like,
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: maybe Bia's mom could have taken her off planet at
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: some point and then told her. But weaving it in
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: to where it's really a game and, like, making it
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: so you're training them without actually training them to get out.
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: Yeah, but also, I love that it is a genuine, like...
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: teaching experience of a like a morality teaching of like
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: hey because Bia has all of these moments of like
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: okay well she can't be a bad person because she
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: helped this person help this person and she always stood
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: up for these people and what did the Empire do
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: like oh wow wait a second am I questioning the
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: Empire like she was literally having a coming of age
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: moment in these very quick successions of this like trying
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: to run away from the empire.
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: Utterly fantastic being able to weave those bits in especially
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: with today's day and age like weaving those in so
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: that there's touches but it's enough that a kid can
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: remember that and move on kind of things.
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: Yeah for excuse me for sure I'm trying to think
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: if there was anything else in this story. Because it
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: was a quick read. For a 24-chapter book, or I
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: think 24 chapters. 24 chapters, 233 pages. It was a
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: quick read. I think the audiobook is like five hours long.
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: Five and a half hours? Yeah.
- 1:28:25Speaker 3: It's a very, very quick read. I think that this is...
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: something you can very easily finish within two days. um
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: and if you really try hard enough um with just
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: the book you can finish it in a day um
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: yeah um the.
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: Only other thing i have to say really is um
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: i think it's warham is the main planet that they're
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: on uh.
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: Cool planet i love the i yeah.
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: I love the level of detail I love the environmental
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: aspects that White is able to weave into this. And
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: like all the different creatures, she weaved an incredible amount
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: of detail about the planet into a very short amount
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: of time. And it's super fantastic. Like I would actually
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: love to see like artwork about the tree that was there.
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: I would just love to be able to see how
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: that weaved in like to the point that like now
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: there's like tunnels that like a ship can fit down
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: with like the root structure and everything.
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: I would really like if we ever have any more
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: High Republic stories, get Worm in there when the tree
- 1:29:50Speaker 3: is like at its like most mature, like, you know,
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: I think that would be great. I think it would
- 1:29:58Speaker 3: just be a really fun story. The whole idea of
- 1:30:00Speaker 3: warm is that this giant living tree, if you guys
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: have ever seen avatar, the last airbender is kind of
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: the tree that I was thinking of. But it's like, it's,
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: it's described as like the biggest skyscraper you've ever seen before,
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: but make it into a tree that, That glows. And
- 1:30:24Speaker 3: it's forever being. A lightning rod. For a planet that
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: storms never end. And the electricity. That is fed through.
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: It feeds the tree. And the tree's electricity now. Feeds the. Creatures.
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: Of the underground. And it's like. It's such a really
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: cool ecosystem. To kind of play with. And even with
- 1:30:55Speaker 3: it being gone, Kirsten White got to play with, hey,
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: what happens when that kind of ecosystem is now disrupted
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: by man, essentially, and by fascism? Because that was the
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: real thing, is that Nevik's father made an empire contract
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: with creating blasters. with the source of energy so like
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: I thought that was really really cool and really fun.
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: 100% alright well guys I think that is all we
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: have on the book again it's a middle grade book
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: there's not a whole lot of detail really to spoil
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: in it or really to talk about without spoiling too
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: too much and as you guys know We like to
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: keep most of the detail for you guys to have
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: the surprises. So yeah. Clay, you want to tell us
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: where they can find you?
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: Yes, of course. You can always find me at fanboyclay
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: on threads and on Instagram. I am spending a lot
- 1:32:08Speaker 3: of my time on threads. So check me out there

- 1:32:13Speaker 3: you guys follow me. volume comics i'm being more active
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: on that as well on threads uh really trying to
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: get my follower count uh up on that abby's making
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: me do all the marketing stuff you know teaching me
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: a thing or two uh but also ranger alliance uh

- 1:32:36Speaker 3: be doing a three episode review next sunday and it'll
