- 0:02Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it's your favorite time
- 0:04Speaker 1: of week. You download the crazy sheets, you get you comfortable,
- 0:07Speaker 1: get you something to drink, and get ready to talk
- 0:09Speaker 1: some college football. I'm Mark, and I'm actually on the
- 0:12Speaker 1: road this weekend, and Scotty's at home. Brother, how the
- 0:14Speaker 1: hell are you?
- 0:15Speaker 2: Man, good.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Had I got caught up, was going to the East Coast,
- 0:18Speaker 3: got caught in that fiasco going on in Philadelphia this week.
- 0:23Speaker 3: So I was going up to play some golf, didn't
- 0:25Speaker 3: get a chance to go. So a little disappointing, but hey,
- 0:29Speaker 3: you get back to the grind when you got to
- 0:31Speaker 3: do it. Fun week last week, Mark.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Fun week.
- 0:36Speaker 3: That was LSU. Ole Miss was everything you thought it
- 0:39Speaker 3: was going to be. I love that Ole Miss fans
- 0:45Speaker 3: are acting like they are not being petty. It is fabulous.
- 0:52Speaker 3: That is pure pettiness at its finest. Good for them
- 0:57Speaker 3: for winning the game. Great atmosphere.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Game was great.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Fans got in there early. I hate to crush them,
- 1:05Speaker 3: but they don't win that game. If the big tight
- 1:09Speaker 3: end for LSU doesn't get hurt, Kiffin had taken that
- 1:12Speaker 3: game over, but the difference in that game was Sam
- 1:15Speaker 3: Leavitt in the first half. And it was exactly what
- 1:17Speaker 3: we said going into the game. I watched that guy
- 1:20Speaker 3: wilt in Starkville last year. He wilted in Oxford under
- 1:23Speaker 3: that environment. And in the first half, he simply... Did
- 1:28Speaker 3: not make the plays. I think that team realizes they
- 1:31Speaker 3: left a lot of guys open, a lot of plays
- 1:33Speaker 3: left on the field. He made some throws that were
- 1:36Speaker 3: not good to guys who were open, but Trey Desgreen
- 1:39Speaker 3: was the difference in the game. When he got hurt,
- 1:42Speaker 3: LSU just didn't have the ability to close. They almost
- 1:46Speaker 3: didn't have an answer for him. And when you combine
- 1:48Speaker 3: that with Levitt's ability And I think that was a
- 1:52Speaker 3: big part of the game. Alabama's defense, I do not
- 1:56Speaker 3: need to hear how good their defense is because it's not.
- 2:00Speaker 2: It may be talented, but it's not good. It is
- 2:03Speaker 2: not good.
- 2:04Speaker 3: You do not get gas canned the way they got gas. Hell,
- 2:07Speaker 3: FSU can't even throw.
- 2:08Speaker 2: The ball, Mark.
- 2:10Speaker 3: And they threw to one all day long. I mean,
- 2:13Speaker 3: it was wild. And, you know, look, he ran the
- 2:17Speaker 3: football on them. That defense is not good. That offense
- 2:21Speaker 3: is special when the quarterback's playing well. They're super talented.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Freshman running back's a dude.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Man, he's good.
- 2:28Speaker 3: I don't know how much longer he's not going to
- 2:30Speaker 3: be starting. I know they'll probably let Hill, you know,
- 2:33Speaker 3: play a good bit. But at the end of the day,
- 2:35Speaker 3: he's not their best back. He's not even close. Texas
- 2:39Speaker 3: A & M, let me explain something to Marcel Reed.
- 2:43Speaker 3: You're going to be in the portal whether you want
- 2:44Speaker 3: to be or not. That was abysmal. I mean, he couldn't.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Throw the ball again. I mean, I said to every
- 2:52Speaker 2: Aggie fan.
- 2:53Speaker 3: You're going to go as far as Marcel Reed can
- 2:55Speaker 3: take you, and that ain't very damn far. Because that
- 2:57Speaker 3: defense ain't as good as it was last year. They
- 2:59Speaker 3: can't do what they can do and overcome a game
- 3:03Speaker 3: where Marcel Reed can't do anything. And they could last year.
- 3:07Speaker 3: I mean, hell, they almost beat Miami with him unable
- 3:10Speaker 3: to throw a forward pass. Kudos to Kentucky. Stein's got
- 3:14Speaker 3: them playing with some energy, some heart. That was impressive.
- 3:20Speaker 3: New Mexico, how about my man Eck going up there
- 3:24Speaker 3: and giving the Sooners all they wanted. Kamario Taylor bouncing
- 3:31Speaker 3: back as well as I've ever seen any quarterback in
- 3:36Speaker 3: a long time as a young guy. I mean, this
- 3:39Speaker 3: was his fourth start. You go 0 for 4, throw
- 3:43Speaker 3: a pick, you're down 16 bullet on the road in
- 3:46Speaker 3: a tough environment, and they proceed to score 35 straight.
- 3:51Speaker 3: I mean, you don't see many young kids do that.
- 3:55Speaker 3: And look, a lot of credit goes to Mississippi State's defense.
- 3:58Speaker 3: They played significantly better in the second half. They forced
- 4:03Speaker 3: Lenore Sellers to throw the football, which, candidly, he's in
- 4:07Speaker 3: love doing. At a high rate. And that was the
- 4:10Speaker 3: difference in the ballgame there. I want to talk about,
- 4:13Speaker 3: I know we got some guys, we got a Purdue
- 4:15Speaker 3: fan that listens, your buddies with. He was making jokes
- 4:19Speaker 3: about them. You know, just take whoever Purdue's playing against.
- 4:22Speaker 3: They didn't cover last week, but they looked pretty good
- 4:25Speaker 3: for that ballgame. That ballgame was tight. Heck, I think
- 4:27Speaker 3: they had a lead. going into that ball game, going
- 4:32Speaker 3: into the fourth quarter in that game. UCLA does have
- 4:36Speaker 3: a good offense, but Purdue's making some strides because the difficulty,
- 4:41Speaker 3: and Arkansas's in this situation too, when you're bad and
- 4:46Speaker 3: you can't win, you've got to overpay for.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Kids in the portal.
- 4:49Speaker 3: So the kids you're getting are overvalued, and yet they
- 4:53Speaker 3: put in the effort like they're a superstar. It makes
- 4:56Speaker 3: it really hard to win. That's where Mississippi State was
- 4:59Speaker 3: that first year, second year really too. Thankfully, they're coming
- 5:03Speaker 3: out of it a little bit, but it's tough to win.
- 5:06Speaker 3: If you're not a head coach who transfers and brings
- 5:08Speaker 3: a great roster with you, it's a whole lot harder
- 5:10Speaker 3: to reboot a program now than I think it's ever
- 5:13Speaker 3: been because kids can bail, and it's really.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Really hard to get guys. You've got to overpay.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Man, a bunch of weather delays last week. That was crazy.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Houston and Texas Tech was a great football game. So
- 5:26Speaker 3: just a lot going on, man. It was a great week. Oh, Louisville. Great,
- 5:31Speaker 3: good football team in Louisville. They gave Ole Miss all
- 5:34Speaker 3: they wanted. Put a little woodshed to SMU. I think
- 5:38Speaker 3: that's a good football team. They got to be on
- 5:43Speaker 3: upset alert this weekend. Better look out. Better look out.
- 5:47Speaker 3: You play two big ball games in three weeks, and
- 5:50Speaker 3: here comes a better team than you think coming into Louisville.
- 5:53Speaker 2: So a lot of fun stuff to talk about this weekend, Mark.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Yeah. One thing you can't overlook last week was the
- 6:00Speaker 1: ending of the Vandy-NC State game. I don't know that
- 6:02Speaker 1: you'll ever see that again. If you didn't see it,
- 6:05Speaker 1: I'm sure you had to by now. C.J. Baxter, they punt,
- 6:08Speaker 1: they pin them deep, or they make an interception on
- 6:10Speaker 1: the goal line, pin them deep. He's trying to draw
- 6:13Speaker 1: the safety and just get out of the game. And
- 6:16Speaker 1: for whatever reason, instead of running out of the end
- 6:18Speaker 1: zone or taking a knee, he stands there and waits
- 6:20Speaker 1: to get tackled and fumbles into the end zone, which
- 6:23Speaker 1: Vandy then recovers and wins the game. Now, if you
- 6:26Speaker 1: go look at it on the, if you go look
- 6:28Speaker 1: at the data in the, in the yardage, they weren't
- 6:31Speaker 1: that far apart. And so it's not as, it's not
- 6:34Speaker 1: just quite, that was the mistake that lost in the game.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I mean, Vandy was in the game, but NC state
- 6:39Speaker 1: actually handled it should have won, but, I've never seen
- 6:42Speaker 1: that happen. The one thing that takeaway I thought that
- 6:44Speaker 1: was interesting there, and you and I talked about this
- 6:46Speaker 1: off air, but is the, you know, Doran's response to
- 6:51Speaker 1: the whole thing. And it wasn't a, you know, do better.
- 6:54Speaker 1: We made a mistake. He told him, he said he
- 6:58Speaker 1: was never supposed to get hit. His instructions were X.
- 7:01Speaker 1: And then he just kind of stood there like, I
- 7:03Speaker 1: don't know what happened. And my point to that was
- 7:05Speaker 1: I saw a couple of guys coming down on him saying,
- 7:08Speaker 1: you know, you can't be throwing your players under the
- 7:09Speaker 1: bus and, Cause Mike Elko at A & M takes
- 7:12Speaker 1: the complete other response. He's always saying, I got out coached.
- 7:15Speaker 1: It was on me. He doesn't blame the players. And
- 7:18Speaker 1: I understand, I mean, there's different ways to handle things,
- 7:21Speaker 1: but when these guys are making as much money as
- 7:23Speaker 1: they're making, whether you're going to put them in front
- 7:26Speaker 1: of the media or not, it's just some sense of
- 7:30Speaker 1: accountability has got to be had. And I say, I
- 7:33Speaker 1: didn't play very well. And I think that, you know,
- 7:36Speaker 1: it gets to the point where that's what we just
- 7:37Speaker 1: need to say is just be honest. Like, And come
- 7:40Speaker 1: out and say, I didn't play very well. If it's
- 7:42Speaker 1: Elko saying, I didn't coach very well, that's great. Say,
- 7:44Speaker 1: our game plan didn't work, or our tackles got their
- 7:47Speaker 1: ass kicked all day, and Reed isn't comfortable in a
- 7:51Speaker 1: blitz pack. There's a lot of things you obviously can't say,
- 7:54Speaker 1: but it's obvious if you're watching the game that that's
- 7:57Speaker 1: what the issue is. And if you look at Reed,
- 8:00Speaker 1: and I'll use him as an example, he's just not
- 8:03Speaker 1: very accurate as a downfield passer. Now, the one thing
- 8:06Speaker 1: we talked about last week in the podcast.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yeah, downfield, Mark. He can't throw a wide receiver screen.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Well, that either. But, you know, we talked about last
- 8:14Speaker 1: week with Kentucky. It's like, what were they going to
- 8:15Speaker 1: have to do to win? And that's what they did.
- 8:18Speaker 1: You know, they went downfield against this A & M team.
- 8:21Speaker 1: And that was the one way that they could do it.
- 8:22Speaker 1: And so I was impressed with the game plan that
- 8:24Speaker 1: Will Stein put in place. Back to your Mississippi State Bulldogs,
- 8:28Speaker 1: being down the way that they were on the road
- 8:31Speaker 1: and having the composure to come back and win showed
- 8:34Speaker 1: me a lot of mustard there. And on him, but
- 8:37Speaker 1: on the leadership of that team, I think getting that
- 8:39Speaker 1: win at Minnesota the week before was a big deal
- 8:43Speaker 1: for those guys. And then coming back home this weekend
- 8:45Speaker 1: against the Missouri team, you just got to kind of
- 8:47Speaker 1: hope they can get that home magic behind them. If
- 8:51Speaker 1: you want them to keep winning because you get two
- 8:54Speaker 1: wins like that, especially the one that last week. And
- 8:56Speaker 1: sometimes you start reading a little bit about how good
- 8:58Speaker 1: you are and, and made it, you know, may just
- 9:01Speaker 1: assume that that grind is going to carry you to
- 9:03Speaker 1: the next week. And so, It'll be interesting as we
- 9:05Speaker 1: get ready to roll it.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Mark, learning to win, you say this all the time,
- 9:09Speaker 3: some of these teams are not that far away, but
- 9:11Speaker 3: they've got to learn how to win. I think Mississippi
- 9:14Speaker 3: State's a prime example. Last year they could have easily
- 9:16Speaker 3: won seven or eight games. I mean, they had leads
- 9:18Speaker 3: in the fourth quarter against Tennessee, Texas, some really, really
- 9:22Speaker 3: good football teams, and lost those games. You've got to
- 9:25Speaker 3: learn how to win. But that goes true for learning
- 9:29Speaker 3: how to win when you're winning. Now Mississippi State's winning.
- 9:33Speaker 2: They got to learn. It's just what you said.
- 9:35Speaker 3: They got to come out and put a great, this
- 9:37Speaker 3: is a winnable game, but they are not the better
- 9:40Speaker 3: team Saturday.
- 9:41Speaker 2: I don't care what the odds says. Are they favored? Yeah.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Are they the better football team? No.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Missouri's got the better roster and Mississippi state. Again, just
- 9:52Speaker 3: what you said has got to learn to grind through that.
- 9:54Speaker 3: I think that's the biggest thing that Kiffin has got
- 9:57Speaker 3: to teach these LSU kids.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Ole Miss knows how to win.
- 10:02Speaker 3: And that ballgame was on the line, and they went
- 10:04Speaker 3: and won the football game. And I will tell you
- 10:08Speaker 3: one thing. Pete Golding out Kiffin to Kiffin. With the
- 10:12Speaker 3: two-point conversion.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Oh, I mean, look, man, if you're Ole Miss, you got.
- 10:18Speaker 3: To think, oh, that was a master stroke right there.
- 10:21Speaker 3: I think they were totally jacking with them. I don't
- 10:24Speaker 3: think they were going for two. You know, maybe they were,
- 10:28Speaker 3: but I find that hard to believe without Pete Golding
- 10:31Speaker 3: telling me, no, we were planning on going for two.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Because you're opening yourself up for the chance to lose
- 10:37Speaker 2: the ball game. and boom, they jump off sides not
- 10:40Speaker 2: once but twice.
- 10:41Speaker 3: And give it to them inside the one, and then
- 10:43Speaker 3: you know they're going to score. So just kudos to
- 10:47Speaker 3: Golding for doing that, taking advantage of that fan support,
- 10:51Speaker 3: that momentum, all of that. Trinidad Chambliss, hey, man, the
- 10:56Speaker 3: kid's a player. He just is what he is. And,
- 11:00Speaker 3: you know, is he going to be a great NFL guy?
- 11:03Speaker 2: Nope, he's not.
- 11:05Speaker 3: But, buddy, he's a great college quarterback, and we're not
- 11:08Speaker 3: playing– they don't play NFL on Saturday.
- 11:10Speaker 2: They play college football, and he's a really good one.
- 11:13Speaker 3: As long as you've got that guy back there at quarterback,
- 11:15Speaker 3: they're going to have a chance to win. Hate it
- 11:18Speaker 3: about Lacey getting the injury that I have not seen
- 11:21Speaker 3: what it is. But the– I've seen a lot of collarbones,
- 11:26Speaker 3: and that sure looked like he broke his collarbone when
- 11:28Speaker 3: he was walking off that field. That's just what it
- 11:31Speaker 3: looked like. Same thing when he was walking to the
- 11:32Speaker 3: locker room. The way he fell– how the big lineman
- 11:36Speaker 3: fell on him. Hope that's not the case because he's
- 11:40Speaker 3: a great player. This Ole Miss team is good. That
- 11:44Speaker 3: defense looked more like itself last week, and I really
- 11:48Speaker 3: mean up front. Cam Franklin and Echols really kind of
- 11:51Speaker 3: got after it and looked like the players I was
- 11:53Speaker 3: expecting them to be all season.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Did some good stuff. So it's going to be an
- 11:57Speaker 2: interesting week this week.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Going back to what you said about Baxter, I'm going
- 12:03Speaker 3: to quote the great Jackie Sherrill for you right here.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Bad players make bad plays.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Oh, boy.
- 12:09Speaker 2: That's the bottom line. There's no other way to say it.
- 12:12Speaker 2: That's dumb. It's inexcusable.
- 12:14Speaker 3: That kid's making $ 2 or $ 3 million at a minimum.
- 12:17Speaker 3: There's no way NC State's not paying him that or
- 12:20Speaker 3: he'd have left. He had too good of a year
- 12:21Speaker 3: last year to not be somewhere else. So they're at
- 12:24Speaker 3: least paying him that.
- 12:27Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 12:27Speaker 3: We're not going to make excuses with you. You want
- 12:29Speaker 3: to get paid like a big boy? You're going to
- 12:31Speaker 3: get criticized like a big boy, and you've got to
- 12:33Speaker 3: answer the bell like a big boy. I'll be honest
- 12:35Speaker 3: with you. I think he should have owned.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I blew it. I cost us the football game.
- 12:39Speaker 3: You know, a leader, that's what he does, because everybody
- 12:42Speaker 3: in that stadium and everybody in that locker room knows
- 12:45Speaker 3: he's supposed to run out of the back of the
- 12:47Speaker 3: end zone. You know, you stand there, wait. You just
- 12:49Speaker 3: run to the back of the end zone. You stand
- 12:51Speaker 3: there until you're about to get hit, and then you
- 12:52Speaker 3: step out. Even if he doesn't run out the clock, Mark,
- 12:56Speaker 3: you own side kick. Ball game's over. The ball bounces around.
- 13:01Speaker 3: and they're not going to be able to return it.
- 13:02Speaker 3: They got to recover it. The ball game runs out.
- 13:05Speaker 3: If you don't, no excuse to not run out of
- 13:07Speaker 3: the back of the end zone right there. But again,
- 13:11Speaker 3: he's going to get his coach fired, but that's Jackie.
- 13:14Speaker 3: Jackie's right.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Bad players make bad plays.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Oh, man, Scotty. We're in the middle of it. Fourth week,
- 13:22Speaker 1: college football. I love the drama that is the SEC.
- 13:25Speaker 1: It's like days of our lives on how ridiculous it
- 13:28Speaker 1: is with these guys and how they're acting. The one
- 13:31Speaker 1: thing I'm going to say, I'm going to put a
- 13:33Speaker 1: pin in this, and then we're going to move on
- 13:34Speaker 1: to this week, is I got to think that my
- 13:37Speaker 1: man Kirby Smart is loving all of this rhetoric that
- 13:42Speaker 1: LSU is dealing with and Ole Miss is dealing with
- 13:45Speaker 1: and Bama, are we any good after Florida State? And
- 13:49Speaker 1: it's just real quiet. And I don't know if you've
- 13:52Speaker 1: watched Georgia play every game this year, but Gunnar Stockton,
- 13:56Speaker 1: he's not even– like 50% of his passes are behind
- 13:58Speaker 1: the line of scrimmage. And last week against Arkansas, they
- 14:01Speaker 1: just line up and just ran the ball straight at
- 14:05Speaker 1: them the entire game. Nothing exciting, nothing sexy, just completely
- 14:10Speaker 1: ran straight at them. And I honestly think they're going
- 14:12Speaker 1: to keep that up until somebody proves that they can
- 14:14Speaker 1: stop them. And I don't know that we're going to
- 14:16Speaker 1: get it anytime soon. I still think Georgia's probably got
- 14:20Speaker 1: the track to make it at least a run at
- 14:22Speaker 1: the national championship there because they seem the most balanced
- 14:25Speaker 1: in what they're going to get. And I'm interested to
- 14:27Speaker 1: see if somebody does finally press them. Are they going
- 14:29Speaker 1: to be able to throw the ball downfield if they
- 14:31Speaker 1: need to? But we'll get to that, brother. I don't know, man.
- 14:35Speaker 1: I'm excited. Let's get this thing rolling here. Thursday night,
- 14:38Speaker 1: Coastal Carolina at home hosting the Liberty Flames. Haven't watched
- 14:43Speaker 1: a ton of either one of these two teams play.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Line's two and a half. Over-under's 50 and a half.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I always tend to lean to the under in these
- 14:51Speaker 1: particular games, especially at first half under if you can
- 14:54Speaker 1: get one. You have anything on Thursday nights?
- 14:57Speaker 3: Man, I do not on Thursday night. I do have
- 15:00Speaker 3: a little love for one of the games on Friday night, though. Actually,
- 15:05Speaker 3: probably two of the games on Friday night.
- 15:07Speaker 1: There's a great Friday night board if you dive into it.
- 15:10Speaker 1: You've got both the service academies are playing. Army traveling
- 15:13Speaker 1: to Philadelphia. Army's laying three on the road against this
- 15:17Speaker 1: Temple Isle team. Temple team's better. 48 and a half,
- 15:21Speaker 1: you're over under on this one. I'm betting you're going
- 15:23Speaker 1: to tell me you're taking the Black Knights. If I'm
- 15:25Speaker 1: going to play this, I would take them to win.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I don't know if I want to lay points with Army.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Man, give me Army. I think they're going to win
- 15:33Speaker 3: this ballgame.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I like this. I actually like both the academies.
- 15:37Speaker 3: This is a good slate of games, but I just
- 15:41Speaker 3: think Army's going to be able to run the football
- 15:44Speaker 3: against this team and then throw it enough that they're
- 15:47Speaker 3: able to come across it. Temple's still in the middle
- 15:49Speaker 3: of a rebuild. Watched a good bit of that Penn
- 15:52Speaker 3: State-Temple game, and it just does not make me feel
- 15:56Speaker 3: good about them being able to control this Army offense.
- 16:00Speaker 2: So I like Army here.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Do you like Navy traveling down to Birmingham in the
- 16:04Speaker 1: UAB game as well?
- 16:05Speaker 2: I do the same thing.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Like, I three-quarters want to get me a little teaser
- 16:10Speaker 3: in these ballgames. Go ahead and get you a little
- 16:12Speaker 3: Military Service Academy teaser right here. You can get Army
- 16:16Speaker 3: getting points, and you can get Navy down to basically
- 16:21Speaker 3: pick them at a half point.
- 16:23Speaker 2: So let's get it, Mark.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Let's get a little Service Academy teaser for college football.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Oh, my God, that sounds disgusting. Indiana laying 21 against Northwestern.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Northwestern woodshedded Colorado on Saturday. I don't know. I guess
- 16:41Speaker 1: the Colorado team didn't realize that those guys were playing
- 16:43Speaker 1: on a practice field. They're out there making all those
- 16:46Speaker 1: comments about how quiet it was and then just got
- 16:48Speaker 1: their asses kicked. I think he's doing a good job
- 16:51Speaker 1: at Northwestern.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Indiana, they haven't.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Covered this year yet. They're 0-3 against the spread. They've
- 16:57Speaker 1: been laying these big numbers. I'm not saying this team's
- 17:00Speaker 1: not good, but I am saying this Indiana team is gettable.
- 17:03Speaker 1: This is not last year's Indiana team by any stretch
- 17:06Speaker 1: of the imagination. When they dive into Big Ten play,
- 17:08Speaker 1: I think it's going to be interesting. I would lean
- 17:11Speaker 1: to getting 21 with Northwestern. Not involved in this one
- 17:15Speaker 1: just yet, but if I were going to make a play,
- 17:17Speaker 1: that would probably be my initial lean and what we've
- 17:19Speaker 1: got from there. The game I do like on Saturday
- 17:22Speaker 1: night is traveling across the country, Clemson Tigers laying one
- 17:26Speaker 1: and a half to play the Cal Bears. This is
- 17:28Speaker 1: a late, late kick, 10.30 p.m. They're going to be
- 17:32Speaker 1: playing football until way past midnight on the East Coast.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Clemson obviously coming into this game on a short week.
- 17:40Speaker 1: They've got to travel across the country. I think these
- 17:43Speaker 1: teams are trying to get better at it. But if
- 17:45Speaker 1: you looked at USC last week, they did pull the
- 17:47Speaker 1: win out against Rutgers. but you've got the same travel
- 17:50Speaker 1: distance trying to get from Clemson, South Carolina to Cal
- 17:54Speaker 1: in this spot here. This is a Cal team that
- 17:56Speaker 1: I think is still, I still don't think that they're
- 18:00Speaker 1: getting their, uh, getting what they should in this spot.
- 18:03Speaker 1: And so I think this Cal team, with Clemson traveling across,
- 18:07Speaker 1: Clemson coming off of the seven-hour game that they had
- 18:10Speaker 1: in the rain delay last week, which they should have
- 18:12Speaker 1: lost that game, in my opinion, to UNC. Without that
- 18:15Speaker 1: rain delay, I think UNC puts them away and wins
- 18:18Speaker 1: that game. Give me the Cal Bears, plus one and
- 18:22Speaker 1: a half. I think they get the upset at home
- 18:24Speaker 1: against Clemson. I think it'll be tight, but I honestly
- 18:29Speaker 1: think Cal's a better team, and I think they're going
- 18:31Speaker 1: to win this game outright.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I do, too.
- 18:33Speaker 3: I think travel matters. I think it's going to be
- 18:35Speaker 3: a late game. Cal's in the midst of one of
- 18:40Speaker 3: those home game, cross the country, home game, cross the
- 18:43Speaker 3: country deals. Nothing like a good Cal Clemson conference game.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Everybody saw that coming 10 years ago. I mean, just
- 18:51Speaker 3: unbelievable that these guys are in the same conference, but
- 18:54Speaker 3: I do think it's a big deal. Cal's actually a
- 18:56Speaker 3: pretty good team at getting better crowds out there.
- 18:59Speaker 2: So it's a little bit more of a home field advantage.
- 19:01Speaker 3: You've actually got people showing up in Berkeley, which is
- 19:04Speaker 3: a new development. So I don't know what they've done
- 19:08Speaker 3: to generate interest, but at least they've got a little bit.
- 19:11Speaker 3: And I do think they get the win here. I
- 19:13Speaker 3: think it's a tough spot for Clemson with everything that
- 19:16Speaker 3: they've had going on early in the year.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Obviously, a quarterback switch.
- 19:23Speaker 3: And the other reason that I like this, don't forget,
- 19:29Speaker 3: they got a home game with the Miami Hurricanes waiting
- 19:32Speaker 3: on deck.
- 19:34Speaker 2: So you got the Canes on deck.
- 19:36Speaker 3: You can't tell me these kids aren't already thinking about
- 19:39Speaker 3: that game and looking and looking a little past the
- 19:43Speaker 3: Golden Bears.
- 19:43Speaker 2: So I like Cal here.
- 19:45Speaker 1: The other thing you've got true freshman making his first
- 19:48Speaker 1: road start.
- 19:49Speaker 2: That's right.
- 19:49Speaker 1: And like you said, I think Cal will be hyped.
- 19:53Speaker 1: That's it. The last home game they had, it was
- 19:56Speaker 1: a full house there. And that's a good stadium for
- 19:58Speaker 1: those guys. They've got a great fan base in there.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Give me the Cal Golden Bears. I like this one
- 20:02Speaker 1: a lot. Next game I want to go to, Scotty,
- 20:04Speaker 1: let's get to Saturday morning. I want to go to
- 20:06Speaker 1: the Texas, number one in the country, traveling across to Tennessee.
- 20:10Speaker 1: And this one here, let's see line right now. Currently,
- 20:14Speaker 1: as we look at it is Texas is laying four
- 20:16Speaker 1: and a half on the road over under here is
- 20:18Speaker 1: fifty five and a half. Texas is getting most of
- 20:21Speaker 1: the tickets and fifty nine percent of the money. But
- 20:24Speaker 1: you do have the discrepancy in Tennessee is getting 30
- 20:27Speaker 1: percent of the tickets and 41 percent of the money
- 20:29Speaker 1: is where that one is. I've dug in to look
- 20:31Speaker 1: at these things and here's where I'm at with this one.
- 20:35Speaker 1: It's an interesting game plan on how they're going to
- 20:37Speaker 1: put everything together. If you haven't watched Tennessee play yet,
- 20:40Speaker 1: they've got a true freshman playing quarterback for them, Faison Brandon.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Kid's got a backward name, by the way. He's playing
- 20:47Speaker 1: quarterback there. I also think that when you look at
- 20:50Speaker 1: what they've tried to do this year, they want to
- 20:52Speaker 1: run the ball. And Tennessee wants to run it. They
- 20:55Speaker 1: want to control the game. They want to control the
- 20:57Speaker 1: line of scrimmage. Lean on that defense that you've got
- 21:00Speaker 1: from there. This line's opened up as high as six
- 21:03Speaker 1: and a half. Hard Rock's still hanging one. I like
- 21:05Speaker 1: Tennessee plus four and a half here. Arch Manning has
- 21:08Speaker 1: not shown me yet that he is the dominant quarterback
- 21:13Speaker 1: that we thought he was going to be coming out
- 21:14Speaker 1: of high school. He's had some good halves. He's had
- 21:17Speaker 1: some good quarters. But he hasn't been the guy yet
- 21:20Speaker 1: to come out and get it done. And now he's
- 21:22Speaker 1: got even bigger bulls on his back because not only
- 21:24Speaker 1: is he going out to Tennessee to play where Peyton's
- 21:27Speaker 1: a legend, obviously, but he's on the road. It's going
- 21:31Speaker 1: to be a crazy environment. And Texas is number one
- 21:34Speaker 1: in the country. And that's some pressure that this team
- 21:37Speaker 1: has never had to deal with. They've been chasing. They've
- 21:40Speaker 1: been the brand, but they haven't been number one yet.
- 21:44Speaker 1: I don't know how much they're going to be able
- 21:45Speaker 1: to hang on to it. I like the under in
- 21:46Speaker 1: this game. But what I really like more is give
- 21:50Speaker 1: me the four and a half with Tennessee. I think
- 21:51Speaker 1: they're a live dog in this spot.
- 21:53Speaker 2: I think the Volunteers are a live dog. Couldn't agree
- 21:57Speaker 2: with you more.
- 21:57Speaker 3: What gives you the idea that Arch Manning hadn't been
- 22:01Speaker 3: playing complete games?
- 22:03Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know.
- 22:04Speaker 3: As bad as that Oklahoma offense has been, that everybody's
- 22:07Speaker 3: John Mateer's terrible, you want to know the difference in
- 22:11Speaker 3: their stats? It's 10 yards a game. on average, and
- 22:15Speaker 3: he's thrown one more touchdown than John Mateer. That's the
- 22:19Speaker 3: bottom line. His play's mad. If his name is Arch Denson,
- 22:26Speaker 3: he may not still– he'd be getting so much hell
- 22:29Speaker 3: about his play over the last 18 months, but because
- 22:32Speaker 3: his last name's Manning– Everybody keeps waiting for that turn,
- 22:36Speaker 3: keeps waiting for that deal. Do I think he's talented? 100%.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Do I think he's a really good player?
- 22:41Speaker 2: 100%.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Do I think he's a good kid? 100%, even though
- 22:45Speaker 3: he caught so much hell over a main, which is
- 22:47Speaker 3: just ridiculous.
- 22:48Speaker 2: But okay, fine. It was a domestic violent. Great.
- 22:51Speaker 3: It's a joke, but whatever. He's apologized. Move on down
- 22:55Speaker 3: the road. I still think the kid's a good kid.
- 22:57Speaker 3: I think he's a talented player. But at the end
- 23:00Speaker 3: of the day, he hasn't put forth great numbers yet.
- 23:03Speaker 3: And until he does on.
- 23:04Speaker 2: The road, you've got to take the road team. That's
- 23:08Speaker 2: my opinion.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Taking the home team, you mean?
- 23:12Speaker 2: I mean, sorry. No, no, no.
- 23:14Speaker 3: I'm saying home team. Until he does it on the road, yeah,
- 23:16Speaker 3: you've got to take the home team.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Next game I want to take a look at, Scott.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I don't have a play in this one yet. Ohio
- 23:23Speaker 1: State is laying 26-and-a-half. They're getting all the tickets, all
- 23:26Speaker 1: the money. Over and under here is 53-and-a-half. against the
- 23:29Speaker 1: fight in Burt Bielema's. I don't know if I want
- 23:32Speaker 1: to get involved with this. I mean, I really want
- 23:34Speaker 1: to take Burt here, but I kind of want to
- 23:37Speaker 1: get to four touchdowns. I don't think we're going to
- 23:39Speaker 1: get there. Illinois' defense is not what we're used to seeing,
- 23:43Speaker 1: but I also, the Ohio State team, I kind of
- 23:46Speaker 1: wait for them to see if they're going to explode
- 23:47Speaker 1: or not. I lean to the over. You got anything
- 23:50Speaker 1: in that game you like?
- 23:51Speaker 3: If I'm taking it, I'm taking Illinois. I wouldn't take
- 23:54Speaker 3: Ohio State just because I do think that's too many points.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Ohio State's clearly a better football team, but that just
- 24:00Speaker 3: seems like a ton. But, man, I guess they still
- 24:04Speaker 3: got dudes. So, you know, does they go out and
- 24:07Speaker 3: try to get a gas can victory?
- 24:09Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 24:10Speaker 3: That's the reason I would stay away from it is
- 24:12Speaker 3: because if he can win by 40, he will.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Another interesting game, we got Wake Forest coming into this one.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Wake actually got the cover last week in that game
- 24:23Speaker 1: against Miami. Kind of impressed with what they put out there.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Gio Lopez, the quarterback for Wake, is pretty dynamic. He
- 24:29Speaker 1: can keep them in some games. And this Wake Forest
- 24:31Speaker 1: team is kind of fun to watch. Both of these
- 24:33Speaker 1: teams come in here at 2-1. Market current now is
- 24:36Speaker 1: laying about Louisville minus 12.5. I simulate this game kind
- 24:40Speaker 1: of in that same spot. I don't know if I've
- 24:42Speaker 1: got anything I want to get down on us. Do
- 24:44Speaker 1: you have anything on the Louisville game? I would kind
- 24:46Speaker 1: of lean Wake Forest in this spot, but I don't know.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Anything there for you?
- 24:50Speaker 2: Same deal.
- 24:50Speaker 3: If you like this game, I'm leaning Wake Forest. But, no,
- 24:54Speaker 3: there are games that I like better than this. But
- 24:57Speaker 3: this does seem like too big of a number, mainly
- 25:00Speaker 3: because Louisville coming off that huge game last week, Yes,
- 25:04Speaker 3: they are at home, which is going to help. But
- 25:06Speaker 3: sometimes that leads to a big letdown as well. I
- 25:10Speaker 3: think if Ole Miss was playing at home against Florida,
- 25:13Speaker 3: they'd get a bigger letdown than they're going to get
- 25:15Speaker 3: in the swamp. That's my honest opinion. But because I
- 25:19Speaker 3: think they would feel more comfortable, basically. I think they
- 25:22Speaker 3: know they've got to go answer the bell down in
- 25:24Speaker 3: the swamp. I think they may be looking past Miami.
- 25:27Speaker 3: This team was better against Miami than I think Miami
- 25:30Speaker 3: was expecting.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Last week.
- 25:35Speaker 3: It feels like with two big games in three weeks,
- 25:38Speaker 3: which is what Louisville's had, it feels like this number's
- 25:41Speaker 3: a little too big to me.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I would agree with you there. I'd lean Wake.
- 25:46Speaker 1: We'll see how that one rolls out when we get
- 25:47Speaker 1: closer to the game. A couple other games and then
- 25:49Speaker 1: 11 o'clock slot I want to go. Virginia Tech at
- 25:51Speaker 1: Boston College. Boston College, this team was preseason rated to
- 25:55Speaker 1: be one of the worst Division I football teams in
- 25:57Speaker 1: the country. They're actually 2-1. after getting that win over Rutgers,
- 26:02Speaker 1: playing a little bit over their head and kind of
- 26:03Speaker 1: what I was expecting there. And then James Franklin just
- 26:06Speaker 1: coming in and getting it done at Vontech so far.
- 26:09Speaker 1: I leaned Vontech in this one here. Going on the road,
- 26:13Speaker 1: laying in almost two touchdowns. I don't know if I'm
- 26:15Speaker 1: going to get involved in it yet, but I leaned
- 26:17Speaker 1: Vontech in this spot. Do you have anything here?
- 26:21Speaker 2: Walser to Walser, Vontech, I'll blow these guys out.
- 26:25Speaker 3: That really is the deal. It's on the road. So, again,
- 26:28Speaker 3: there's a couple games I like better. That's a big
- 26:30Speaker 3: chalk number delay. But it seems like that Virginia Tech
- 26:35Speaker 3: ought to go up there and handle business by two touchdowns.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Next one I'm going to go to, Scott, is the
- 26:41Speaker 1: game I will be at on Saturday, Texas Tech, Sam
- 26:44Speaker 1: Houston State. I don't know if you've had a chance
- 26:47Speaker 1: to watch Texas Tech yet or not, but this team
- 26:49Speaker 1: is not last year's Texas Tech. Defensively, this team has
- 26:53Speaker 1: not stepped up in that we've seen the pressure from–
- 26:57Speaker 1: they got better last week. They got some players back.
- 27:00Speaker 1: But the defensive line there is definitely not putting up
- 27:03Speaker 1: what they need to after last season. Last season, we
- 27:07Speaker 1: were so used to seeing that defensive front just eat
- 27:09Speaker 1: up line of scrimmage. And those linebackers just running free
- 27:13Speaker 1: to get things going. Sam Houston State, this team is
- 27:18Speaker 1: 3-0 against the numbers. I mean, I know they beat
- 27:21Speaker 1: Nichols last week. Both the games that they were in,
- 27:24Speaker 1: they had a chance to win. This is a much
- 27:27Speaker 1: improved team over last year's Sam Houston State team. If
- 27:31Speaker 1: you can get it at 35, I would say take
- 27:33Speaker 1: Sam Houston State plus the 35. This is a Tech
- 27:36Speaker 1: team that I don't know that has the offense to
- 27:38Speaker 1: blow the doors off of somebody. That's a five-touchdown lead.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I think if you can get one touchdown out of Sam,
- 27:43Speaker 1: you get the cover here. I also don't know how
- 27:45Speaker 1: interested Tech is in just blowing this team out. They're
- 27:48Speaker 1: coming off of a huge down after last week getting
- 27:53Speaker 1: that win against G of H. They've got a trip
- 27:57Speaker 1: on the road next week. They're 0-3 against the spread,
- 28:00Speaker 1: laying huge numbers right here. I haven't seen anything from
- 28:04Speaker 1: Will Hammond that proves to me that he's going to
- 28:06Speaker 1: open this thing up and get any wider. Give me
- 28:09Speaker 1: Sam Houston State plus 35 in this one. You may
- 28:12Speaker 1: have to hold your nose in this one, brother, but
- 28:14Speaker 1: I'm excited about it.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Yeah, it's, you know, the betting numbers, their history basically
- 28:22Speaker 3: says they're going to crush these guys. But I agree
- 28:24Speaker 3: with you. I think it's going to be kind of
- 28:25Speaker 3: a workmanlike game. We said all along there was just
- 28:31Speaker 3: a game. Tech had to figure out how to win.
- 28:34Speaker 3: They won it last week. They're about to start 5-0.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Hammond's going to continue to get better and better the
- 28:41Speaker 3: farther he gets away from that knee injury. He's a
- 28:44Speaker 3: talented player. I thought it was interesting they brought out
- 28:47Speaker 3: Castellanos early in the ballgame last week. I think he
- 28:50Speaker 3: started the ball game.
- 28:52Speaker 2: He did.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Through an interception on the first play of the game.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Yep. So that stunned me. But Hammond's going to continue
- 29:00Speaker 3: to get better. But I think this is going to
- 29:01Speaker 3: be a workmanlike win, which means Sam Houston covers, baby.
- 29:06Speaker 2: I'm with you. I'm with you on this. Too big
- 29:08Speaker 2: a number.
- 29:08Speaker 3: There's some big numbers this week that I just don't
- 29:11Speaker 3: think get– that I don't think get covered.
- 29:15Speaker 1: A couple other games I got in the same spot, Scott.
- 29:17Speaker 1: South Alabama, Kentucky. You got anything in this one here?
- 29:20Speaker 1: I mean, do you think Kentucky's going to come back
- 29:22Speaker 1: at home?
- 29:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I want to take them. But, man, that Kentucky
- 29:27Speaker 3: defensive line is playing pretty well. I think that's what
- 29:30Speaker 3: this team is doing that's making it better. That's bad
- 29:35Speaker 3: when you start getting into fun belt teams. If you're
- 29:38Speaker 3: defensive line, they can kind of take it.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Over.
- 29:40Speaker 3: But there's no way Kentucky's not going to play flat. So, yeah, boy,
- 29:47Speaker 3: it's itching for me to take it. But, no, I'm
- 29:49Speaker 3: going to pass. I haven't gotten a full read because
- 29:53Speaker 3: this team looked great against Alabama for a half, really
- 29:56Speaker 3: probably two and a half quarters, and they got the
- 29:58Speaker 3: hell beat out of them by Alabama.
- 30:00Speaker 2: They looked great last week. They dominated that football game.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Who are they? I'm still trying to figure out who
- 30:06Speaker 2: Kentucky is.
- 30:10Speaker 1: UCLA-Maryland. This is an early body clock game for UCLA.
- 30:14Speaker 1: UCLA's 3-0. Maryland's 2-1. UCLA's laying one and a half
- 30:19Speaker 1: on the road at Maryland. Typically, once you get out
- 30:22Speaker 1: of September, we're kind of used to seeing Maryland crumble here.
- 30:25Speaker 1: I don't know if I want to take a UCLA
- 30:27Speaker 1: team traveling across three time zones and to play in
- 30:30Speaker 1: this one here. But I don't know. What's your thought?
- 30:32Speaker 1: Anything here?
- 30:33Speaker 3: I think UCLA's definitely the better team. But, hell, I've
- 30:36Speaker 3: told everybody for two years, take the time zone guy.
- 30:39Speaker 3: But it's Mike Loxley. Man, there's no way I'm touching
- 30:41Speaker 3: this game. No way I'm touching this game.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Notre Dame and Purdue, in-state rival game that you've got here.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Notre Dame's laying 27 and a half. I don't know
- 30:51Speaker 1: if you've watched a lot of Purdue yet, folks. They're
- 30:54Speaker 1: better than what I thought they were going to be.
- 30:56Speaker 1: This team is playing competitively. I was impressed with what
- 30:59Speaker 1: they got done. Obviously, they got the cover last week
- 31:01Speaker 1: that we couldn't pull it off. They went out to
- 31:03Speaker 1: the West Coast and got the cover. And so coming
- 31:06Speaker 1: back here, Notre Dame, obviously way better. This is a
- 31:10Speaker 1: team that should just come in and work Purdue. I
- 31:13Speaker 1: think they could kind of name their score. If I
- 31:15Speaker 1: were going to play this game, I would probably say
- 31:18Speaker 1: Notre Dame first half minus 14, but I don't have
- 31:20Speaker 1: anything in pocket yet.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Man, I think that's probably a good number. I think
- 31:26Speaker 3: Purdue's going to come out and play hard. I think
- 31:28Speaker 3: they're going to give it all they got. They clearly
- 31:30Speaker 3: don't have enough to win this ball game. But do
- 31:33Speaker 3: they have enough to keep it under four touchdowns?
- 31:36Speaker 2: You know, can I.
- 31:37Speaker 3: See this a 45-17 game? Yeah, and that's what it's
- 31:42Speaker 3: going to take for them to cover. But can I
- 31:44Speaker 3: see this being an ugly 38-14? Yep, I can see
- 31:49Speaker 3: that too. So, you know, I– I agree with you.
- 31:53Speaker 3: How bad do they want to beat them? Yes, it's in-state.
- 31:58Speaker 3: So that obviously means a lot. But, boy, I want
- 32:03Speaker 3: to take Purdue so bad.
- 32:05Speaker 2: I really do. But I just don't.
- 32:06Speaker 3: I think Notre Dame is truly one of the best
- 32:09Speaker 3: three or four teams in the country and have all year.
- 32:13Speaker 1: One game I do have something in my pocket for, Scott.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Iowa traveling up to the big house this weekend. Both
- 32:18Speaker 1: of these teams are ranked. Michigan's laying five and a
- 32:21Speaker 1: half in this one over under 38 and a half.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Is that right?
- 32:28Speaker 2: Yes. I love it. I love it, babe. 39.
- 32:32Speaker 3: It's 39 and a half right now. 39 and a
- 32:34Speaker 3: half in my book.
- 32:35Speaker 1: You're going to have some great Midwestern weather up there.
- 32:37Speaker 1: 66 degrees, light wind, no rain traveling in here. These
- 32:42Speaker 1: two teams haven't played in a while. Last time these
- 32:45Speaker 1: two teams matched up was 2023. Hank Brown took over
- 32:49Speaker 1: as a starter for Iowa this last week. This will
- 32:52Speaker 1: be his first road start against Bryce Underwood here. I
- 32:55Speaker 1: don't know if you watched a whole lot of the Miami,
- 32:58Speaker 1: excuse me, the Michigan UTEP game last week, but Michigan
- 33:01Speaker 1: really was flat, struggling to get it going here. I
- 33:04Speaker 1: would think that Iowa is not a team. Iowa looks
- 33:08Speaker 1: flat all the time to me, so you can't ever
- 33:10Speaker 1: judge with that. I like Iowa. Give me Iowa plus
- 33:13Speaker 1: five and a half. I think Iowa's a live dog
- 33:15Speaker 1: to get the win in this one, too.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Live dog, baby. I think they are for sure a
- 33:21Speaker 3: live dog. Just for a number, look, that Iowa defense
- 33:25Speaker 3: is going to be, they're going to do what they do.
- 33:27Speaker 3: That Michigan defense is going to be really good. They
- 33:29Speaker 3: are going to fight in a phone booth. It would
- 33:31Speaker 3: surprise me if this game goes over, which really means
- 33:35Speaker 3: we're going to have a really close football game. You're
- 33:37Speaker 3: giving me five and a half on teams that I
- 33:40Speaker 3: think are equally matched and a team that I think
- 33:42Speaker 3: could win this straight out. Man, give me the points
- 33:46Speaker 3: and let's head on down the road.
- 33:47Speaker 2: I love this game.
- 33:49Speaker 1: I don't know why I like Iowa so much. I mean,
- 33:52Speaker 1: I watch those guys.
- 33:54Speaker 3: I told you pregame, it almost scares me how much
- 33:57Speaker 3: I like this game. I'm like, God, maybe I ought
- 33:59Speaker 3: to bet Michigan just to be the contrarian because I
- 34:01Speaker 3: like it too much.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Oh, my God. I mean, every time I look at
- 34:05Speaker 1: this game, I'm like, oh, good. But, I mean, I
- 34:07Speaker 1: love betting these guys. Let's go to the SEC again, Scotty.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Texas A & M, LSU in this one. Lines eight
- 34:13Speaker 1: and a half. I want to tell you right now,
- 34:17Speaker 1: I want to take– you want to take LSU after
- 34:21Speaker 1: last week. Everybody does. You watched that A & M
- 34:23Speaker 1: game last week. A & M was awful. I would
- 34:27Speaker 1: take A & M in the points in this game.
- 34:28Speaker 1: It's too many. Because I don't know who– I don't
- 34:31Speaker 1: know– LSU to me, when I've watched them play this year,
- 34:35Speaker 1: I think their defense is really good. I think their
- 34:38Speaker 1: defense is going to give A & M all kinds
- 34:40Speaker 1: of fits. But at the same time, I think the
- 34:42Speaker 1: LSU– the A & M defense is going to be
- 34:44Speaker 1: able to do some things to that LSU offense. LSU's offense,
- 34:47Speaker 1: they don't have a wide receiver yet that I have
- 34:49Speaker 1: seen blow the top off the field. They don't have–
- 34:51Speaker 1: I mean, with– because the tight end is out. I
- 34:54Speaker 1: don't think he's coming back.
- 34:55Speaker 2: It is. Green's done.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Yeah, he's done for the season. And so, I would
- 34:59Speaker 1: lean A & M plus the points in this one.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Do you have a play at all?
- 35:03Speaker 2: Well, I love A & M here.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Just because I think this game is– I think this
- 35:08Speaker 3: number is way too big.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:11Speaker 3: I think A & M and LSU are probably identical
- 35:15Speaker 3: football teams. I think A & M' s a live dog.
- 35:20Speaker 3: I really do. Because these teams are not that far apart.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Neither one of them have got great quarterback play. A
- 35:29Speaker 3: & M has got a significant advantage at the wide
- 35:31Speaker 3: receiver spot. I mean, it's not even close how much
- 35:36Speaker 3: of an advantage they've got there. I would tell you
- 35:38Speaker 3: they've probably even got an advantage at the running back spot.
- 35:41Speaker 3: So you're talking about– and they both have athletic quarterbacks.
- 35:47Speaker 3: But I don't think he's one of the great throw
- 35:49Speaker 3: in the football. I think Levitt, I'd give the quarterback edge, obviously,
- 35:52Speaker 3: to Levitt. But is he going to miss open guys?
- 35:56Speaker 3: What's he going to do? So let's admit he's not
- 36:01Speaker 3: played great football except against Clemson. That's his best game.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Clemson's terrible.
- 36:08Speaker 2: And Clemson's terrible. So I think this is too many points.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Look, somebody's walking out of Death Valley Saturday night 0-2
- 36:16Speaker 3: in the Southeastern Conference. And you can bet your ass
- 36:19Speaker 3: that neither one of those fan bases were expecting that.
- 36:22Speaker 3: And somebody is coming out 0-2.
- 36:26Speaker 2: I don't know who it's going to be.
- 36:27Speaker 3: I think this is going to be a fight in
- 36:29Speaker 3: the phone booth. I think they're going to get after
- 36:31Speaker 3: each other. I think it's going to be really, really close.
- 36:34Speaker 3: I just think eight and a half is too many.
- 36:36Speaker 3: But if you tell me on Sunday morning, hey, did
- 36:38Speaker 3: you see A & M won? Not going to surprise
- 36:40Speaker 3: me at all.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Other game we got in the SEC I want to
- 36:44Speaker 1: dive into. We got a couple of them this week.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Pretty good slate of games. Oklahoma's traveling down to Georgia.
- 36:50Speaker 1: OU coming in 2-1, Georgia's 3-0. They're laying 14 in
- 36:53Speaker 1: this one. I think the number's about right on what
- 36:56Speaker 1: you're going to get from this standpoint. But I don't
- 36:59Speaker 1: know what Oklahoma's offense is. I have no idea. John Mateer,
- 37:03Speaker 1: this season, five turnovers. Defense has got zero takeaways to
- 37:07Speaker 1: match with that in the last two games. Gunnar Stockton's 38-45,
- 37:12Speaker 1: 85% completion rate with nine TDs. Yeah, most of his
- 37:14Speaker 1: passes are coming from behind the line of scrimmage. They're
- 37:17Speaker 1: literally just lining up and just running over people. They're
- 37:20Speaker 1: 3-0 against the number, 3-0 to the over. OU is
- 37:22Speaker 1: 1-2 against the spread, 0-3 to the under in that spot.
- 37:27Speaker 1: I got nothing here on OU that tells me that
- 37:30Speaker 1: they're going to have any bounce back. The other thing, too,
- 37:32Speaker 1: is that's huge for OU is they lost defensive tackle
- 37:35Speaker 1: David Stone. He's uncertain for this game. He's by far
- 37:38Speaker 1: their best defensive tackle in this one. Nate Frazier for
- 37:42Speaker 1: Georgia has been upgraded to expected to play. We'll– UGA's
- 37:46Speaker 1: got some injuries that are there, but I'm not that
- 37:48Speaker 1: worried about it. I would tell you I'm going to
- 37:50Speaker 1: lay it with Georgia. I may lay it in the
- 37:52Speaker 1: first half as well, but I just think this team
- 37:55Speaker 1: is going to work Oklahoma. And I don't think Oklahoma
- 37:57Speaker 1: has any– I don't think they have the offense that
- 37:59Speaker 1: they can stay within 14. I mean, I could easily
- 38:02Speaker 1: see this game being a 17-point difference and OU never
- 38:06Speaker 1: being in the game. I don't know how OU's going
- 38:08Speaker 1: to stay within this game in Georgia, especially on the road.
- 38:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I think this defense is still good enough to
- 38:14Speaker 3: keep Georgia close. This, again, feels like too many points.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Sooner or later, somebody on that offensive staff is going
- 38:27Speaker 3: to figure out how to get somebody open, but I
- 38:30Speaker 3: don't think it's going to be this week.
- 38:32Speaker 2: They can't get one open. I mean, they really can't.
- 38:35Speaker 3: His touchdown last week against New Mexico was a busted coverage.
- 38:39Speaker 2: Yeah. And they left him uncovered.
- 38:41Speaker 3: And so I don't know what's going on at Oklahoma.
- 38:46Speaker 3: I know this, this schedule don't get any.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Easier, brother.
- 38:50Speaker 3: I mean, their easiest game in the next three weeks
- 38:52Speaker 3: is that our next three.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Or four weeks is probably at Starkville.
- 38:56Speaker 3: You let the Bulldogs win a game between now and then,
- 38:58Speaker 3: and they're going to be biting nails when OU comes
- 39:01Speaker 3: in there.
- 39:01Speaker 2: So I, I think this is a tough road to hoe.
- 39:05Speaker 3: I think I said this before the season started, that
- 39:10Speaker 3: I was expecting them to surprise some people because of
- 39:13Speaker 3: how good that defense is.
- 39:15Speaker 2: They're beat up.
- 39:16Speaker 3: They lost their linebacker, although I don't think he's out
- 39:19Speaker 3: for the year in that Michigan game, who's their best linebacker.
- 39:23Speaker 3: And now they've got a defensive lineman. Their best defensive
- 39:26Speaker 3: lineman is down. They're starting to get banged up. If
- 39:29Speaker 3: that defense can't give up 20 or less a game,
- 39:33Speaker 3: then OU's out of the ballgame because they're not going
- 39:35Speaker 3: to be able to score on good football teams.
- 39:37Speaker 2: This is a really good football team. They're not going
- 39:39Speaker 2: to be able to score.
- 39:40Speaker 3: What this tells me is it's going to be low scoring,
- 39:42Speaker 3: and I think the under is probably as good of
- 39:45Speaker 3: a play as anything.
- 39:48Speaker 1: I would agree with that. It's probably going to be tight. But, yeah,
- 39:53Speaker 1: I'm going to lean this. I haven't gotten involved yet,
- 39:54Speaker 1: but I like the under. A couple quick ones we'll
- 39:56Speaker 1: run down. We've got a couple big ones left. Tulsa
- 39:58Speaker 1: traveling to Arkansas. These teams aren't that far apart. The
- 40:01Speaker 1: fact that Arkansas is only laying seven points to Tulsa,
- 40:04Speaker 1: I lean Tulsa. The only reason I haven't gotten involved
- 40:06Speaker 1: yet is Tulsa lost their quarterback, Baylor Haynes, last week.
- 40:09Speaker 1: I don't think he's going to play this week. They're
- 40:11Speaker 1: going to come back with a backup, Dexter Williams. This
- 40:13Speaker 1: Arkansas team is bad, and their fan base is not
- 40:16Speaker 1: behind them at all. They're showing up with bags on
- 40:18Speaker 1: their head, and they're already starting to boo everything that's
- 40:21Speaker 1: going on here. I think Tulsa's a live dog, but
- 40:23Speaker 1: give me Tulsa plus seven. I like them in that spot. Scotty,
- 40:27Speaker 1: let's get to one of your games that you've got.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Missouri traveling to Mississippi State. Mississippi State coming back after
- 40:32Speaker 1: two games on the road here. Mississippi State laying four
- 40:36Speaker 1: and a half.
- 40:37Speaker 2: That seems a little rich to me.
- 40:39Speaker 1: What are you thinking?
- 40:40Speaker 2: Hell, Mark, it's six. I've seen it as high as
- 40:43Speaker 2: six and a half this week.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it opened at six.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it seems like way too many points.
- 40:52Speaker 3: You know, the thing is, the running back for Mizzou,
- 40:55Speaker 3: I think, is still out. I don't think he's going
- 40:57Speaker 3: to play Armand Hardy, who is a Mississippi kid who
- 41:01Speaker 3: was totally, totally pissed off, and he just– He gashed
- 41:06Speaker 3: the Bulldogs last year. Totally pissed off that he never
- 41:09Speaker 3: got an offer from Mississippi State. Coming out of high school,
- 41:13Speaker 3: he was a really good player. Hell, I think he
- 41:14Speaker 3: was the MVP of the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Game, if I
- 41:17Speaker 3: remember right. So it's not like he was unknown and
- 41:20Speaker 3: goes to Ulamo and then bounces up to Mizzou. So
- 41:23Speaker 3: I think not having him, I think, really, really hurts him.
- 41:28Speaker 3: I want to see Austin Simmons. I still ain't figured
- 41:31Speaker 3: out how he beat out Chambliss. to start the year
- 41:35Speaker 3: last year in Oxford. But he's not Trinidad Chambliss, but
- 41:41Speaker 3: I still think this roster is better than Mississippi State's.
- 41:46Speaker 3: The keys to Mario Taylor, when does he come to earth?
- 41:48Speaker 3: When does he look like a kid who started four games?
- 41:52Speaker 3: When does he look human? Because I was having this
- 41:55Speaker 3: conversation with a friend this week. You expect a guy
- 41:58Speaker 3: who's played this little football at some point to just
- 42:01Speaker 3: look lost.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Just a time or two, even if it's a play
- 42:05Speaker 2: or two. He hasn't looked lost.
- 42:07Speaker 3: I mean, his pick to start the game was just
- 42:09Speaker 3: a communication deal.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Wide receiver comes back to him.
- 42:12Speaker 3: He thought the wide receiver is going to float into him,
- 42:15Speaker 3: bounces off his hands. Boom, it's an interception to the linebacker.
- 42:18Speaker 3: You know, the wide receiver probably read that right, seeing
- 42:21Speaker 3: that the coverage was right. But it's still not like
- 42:24Speaker 3: a lost. I mean, where you're where they're in zone
- 42:27Speaker 3: and he thinks they're in man or they're in man
- 42:30Speaker 3: and they're in zone. And he just does something idiotic
- 42:33Speaker 3: that gets run back for a touchdown or whatever. That
- 42:36Speaker 3: happens to young quarterbacks. It happens to really good young quarterbacks. Hell,
- 42:40Speaker 3: it happens to really good old quarterbacks. He hadn't done
- 42:43Speaker 3: that yet. At some point, you think that's going to happen,
- 42:47Speaker 3: and it.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Just doesn't.
- 42:50Speaker 3: Night game, Davis Wade, Cowbells. Man, I think it's going
- 42:55Speaker 3: to be a great game. I think Mizzou's the better roster.
- 42:59Speaker 3: Wish the Bulldogs were getting points, and I'd be more
- 43:03Speaker 3: in line with taking them.
- 43:04Speaker 2: But if you're going to make me, I'd take Missouri
- 43:06Speaker 2: plus four and a half.
- 43:09Speaker 1: I wondered where you were going to go on that
- 43:10Speaker 1: because you know that's a big line swing from early on.
- 43:14Speaker 1: It's like a couple more games we got, Scotty. Oregon
- 43:18Speaker 1: at USC. This is a great Saturday night game. If
- 43:22Speaker 1: you haven't watched these two teams, I love USC this season.
- 43:25Speaker 1: They're 4-0. I know they didn't cover last week, but
- 43:28Speaker 1: they won. And you know what? Take it and move
- 43:32Speaker 1: on down the road.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Oregon.
- 43:34Speaker 1: I still haven't quite figured out what this team is.
- 43:36Speaker 1: They've looked like shit in two different appearances on field.
- 43:39Speaker 1: And then they go out and lay 80 some odd
- 43:42Speaker 1: points on a terrible FCS team in Portland state. I
- 43:45Speaker 1: have no idea what that's going to get you. Um,
- 43:49Speaker 1: A couple injuries that you got there, Jeremiah McClellan, he's
- 43:52Speaker 1: out with a broken foot. They lost their left tackle,
- 43:55Speaker 1: Trent Ferguson. That was one thing that I thought was
- 43:57Speaker 1: interesting is that the– and then a lot of the
- 44:00Speaker 1: wide receivers also out for Oregon. But one thing I
- 44:03Speaker 1: thought was interesting with Oregon was I went into the
- 44:05Speaker 1: season very high on this team, and I thought the
- 44:07Speaker 1: offensive line, even though they lost, some guys would step up.
- 44:10Speaker 1: We had heard about this defensive line and what it
- 44:13Speaker 1: was going to do and all the money that they'd spent.
- 44:17Speaker 1: I haven't seen a whole lot of it. I don't
- 44:20Speaker 1: know what's going to go on here. I like the
- 44:22Speaker 1: over in this one. I like USC getting points, and
- 44:27Speaker 1: I like the over. And I think the only way
- 44:29Speaker 1: USC can win is to go over. I think Jay
- 44:31Speaker 1: Mob is probably going to play off his ass in
- 44:34Speaker 1: this one. He's leading the country with 12 touchdowns with
- 44:36Speaker 1: only one interception. Dante Moore hasn't done anything to me
- 44:40Speaker 1: that's proven that he's going to– he's actually cost himself
- 44:42Speaker 1: money this season by coming back. I like the over
- 44:46Speaker 1: all the way through in this game, over at halftime,
- 44:48Speaker 1: over in the game. I like USC to win. I'm
- 44:51Speaker 1: going to take the upset in this one here. I
- 44:53Speaker 1: think the defensive line for USC is going to cause
- 44:56Speaker 1: problems to that Oregon front. And I don't think– and
- 45:00Speaker 1: Dante Moore under pressure is about a 25% difference in
- 45:04Speaker 1: how comfortable he is back there as far as getting
- 45:06Speaker 1: the ball down the field. I think he still has
- 45:08Speaker 1: better wide receivers than what USC has on the field.
- 45:11Speaker 1: But under pressure, the kids had problems. I'm going to
- 45:15Speaker 1: go with fat Gary P, sweaty P, getting it done.
- 45:18Speaker 1: But give me the men of Troy plus three. Give
- 45:21Speaker 1: me the over in this one.
- 45:23Speaker 2: Wow.
- 45:24Speaker 3: I was not expecting you to take the men of
- 45:27Speaker 3: Troy at home, although they look at they need if
- 45:31Speaker 3: they're going to take the step. And let's talk about Oregon.
- 45:37Speaker 3: If they do lose this ballgame, who the hell would
- 45:39Speaker 3: thought they were going to be two and two?
- 45:42Speaker 1: I mean, it's an elimination game for them.
- 45:44Speaker 2: It's an elimination game for them.
- 45:46Speaker 3: That's why I like the over. A, this USC defense
- 45:50Speaker 3: is terrible. And Sweaty P, I think they did a
- 45:56Speaker 3: great job recruiting. I've mentioned this on a previous podcast.
- 45:59Speaker 3: I think those freshmen that they've got are really, really good.
- 46:02Speaker 3: They're going to continue to get better. Hell, that defensive end,
- 46:05Speaker 3: the pass rusher, and I know he's the number one
- 46:08Speaker 3: pass rusher guy in the country.
- 46:10Speaker 2: That dude's a freak. I mean, he's a dude.
- 46:13Speaker 3: And he can get after the quarterback. But this defense
- 46:17Speaker 3: is just bad. I think Oregon's going to be able
- 46:19Speaker 3: to expose it. I think if SC's going to win
- 46:22Speaker 3: this game, it's going to take a lot of points
- 46:24Speaker 3: because there's no way their defense is going to hold
- 46:26Speaker 3: these guys under 30. Give me the over. I like
- 46:29Speaker 3: the over a little bit more. I don't know that
- 46:31Speaker 3: I'm ready to crown SC yet.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Come on, baby.
- 46:37Speaker 2: They should win this ballgame.
- 46:38Speaker 1: They should win this ballgame. Love these guys. I mean,
- 46:41Speaker 1: I got this cross-country love fest going with USC and
- 46:44Speaker 1: Rich Rod at West Virginia currently. So, we'll see how
- 46:46Speaker 1: it's going to go. A couple other games.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Just a quality Big Ten matchup, Mark. Just a quality
- 46:51Speaker 3: Big Ten matchup.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Of course it is, Scott. You know, we got the
- 46:56Speaker 1: ACC-Clemson-Cow game. You know, they didn't write. They can just
- 47:01Speaker 1: go south.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:02Speaker 1: And you can go to the USC game if you
- 47:04Speaker 1: want to. You know? I mean, why not? It's right
- 47:07Speaker 1: there for you. I'm telling you. A couple other games
- 47:10Speaker 1: I got that I like that are kind of off
- 47:12Speaker 1: the beaten path. Oregon State travels to El Paso to
- 47:15Speaker 1: play UTEP, playing 10.5 here. I'm not going to do
- 47:18Speaker 1: too deep of a dive in this one, but Oregon State,
- 47:21Speaker 1: to me, played two teams and two ranked teams, Texas
- 47:26Speaker 1: and Houston. They covered in both of those, had chances
- 47:29Speaker 1: to win in the Tech game, hung around in the
- 47:31Speaker 1: U of H game for a long time. UTEP, Hung
- 47:35Speaker 1: around with Michigan. I think obviously Michigan was in a
- 47:38Speaker 1: massive flat spot in that one. Still doesn't have a
- 47:40Speaker 1: whole lot of offense there, but I've been impressed with
- 47:42Speaker 1: this Oregon State team. First-year coach, quarterback transferred in from Mercer,
- 47:47Speaker 1: Brandon Atkinson. He's doing really well. They had a huge
- 47:50Speaker 1: win last week over Montana, which is a good FCS program,
- 47:53Speaker 1: but I think it was good for them to get
- 47:54Speaker 1: the win. I'm not really worried about them going out
- 47:56Speaker 1: on the road. It's about a four-hour, three-hour flight due
- 47:59Speaker 1: south to get them down there. They're not traveling but
- 48:02Speaker 1: across one time zone. Oregon State, to me, Much better team.
- 48:06Speaker 1: Biggest upgrade I've got so far in my power rankings.
- 48:09Speaker 1: I think Oregon State woodsheds UTEP here and gets back
- 48:12Speaker 1: to 2-2. I like what I've seen here. Give me
- 48:14Speaker 1: the Beavers to cover. It's one of my favorite games
- 48:17Speaker 1: of the weekend. What you got next for you, Scotty?
- 48:20Speaker 2: Man, I love it.
- 48:21Speaker 3: Look, I can't not talk about this game going on
- 48:28Speaker 3: in Gainesville. I think that that I mentioned it earlier.
- 48:36Speaker 3: I think Ole Miss, I'm stunned they're underdogs. I think
- 48:41Speaker 3: that's probably offensive to the sixth-ranked team, and aren't they
- 48:44Speaker 3: sixth in the polls this week? I think that probably
- 48:46Speaker 3: pisses them off. They got a fifth-year quarterback or a
- 48:50Speaker 3: sixth-year quarterback, whatever Jambliss is. They got a dude who
- 48:53Speaker 3: can make– that's got to piss them off. I mean,
- 48:55Speaker 3: it really does. While I think John Summerall is awesome–
- 49:01Speaker 3: I think the Swamp is going to be rocking. I
- 49:04Speaker 3: think Sumrall is going to have them back competing for
- 49:06Speaker 3: national championships very, very soon. I think he's the guy
- 49:10Speaker 3: that Auburn should have hired, as they showed last week.
- 49:15Speaker 3: I think three and a half points is too much
- 49:17Speaker 3: for the Rebels. I think they're going to answer the bell.
- 49:20Speaker 3: I think they're pissed off. I think they're going to
- 49:23Speaker 3: see this line. It's going to drive them absolutely bonkers
- 49:28Speaker 3: that they are the underdog. And, hey, man, who can
- 49:32Speaker 3: blame them? I mean, look, they got an off week
- 49:36Speaker 3: waiting after this. I ain't Ole Miss answers the bell.
- 49:41Speaker 3: Give me the Rebels as the upset special, baby. We
- 49:44Speaker 3: ain't got to go any farther than that. Rebels going
- 49:47Speaker 3: to win in Florida. They're the better football team. You
- 49:49Speaker 3: got Trinidad Chambliss. I think this line's flipped and it's
- 49:53Speaker 3: three and a half. and I might be on the
- 49:55Speaker 3: opposite side of this. I think they saw this line,
- 49:58Speaker 3: and it pissed them off. And don't think kids ain't
- 50:01Speaker 3: looking at lines. They've been looking at them since I
- 50:03Speaker 3: was in college, and they're dang sure looking at them now.
- 50:06Speaker 2: Give me the Rebels. There's no way they're not going
- 50:08Speaker 2: to cover this number.
- 50:10Speaker 1: I like Florida. Give me Florida to win. I'll go
- 50:12Speaker 1: oppo on you on that one. I love it. I
- 50:15Speaker 1: like the new offensive coordinator at Florida. I like what
- 50:17Speaker 1: they're getting done there.
- 50:18Speaker 3: I love the whole staff. Love everything going on at Florida.
- 50:20Speaker 3: I just think they're not the better team.
- 50:22Speaker 1: I don't– we'll see. We'll see. A couple other games
- 50:25Speaker 1: we'll just rapid fire through. Give me Sunbelt Billy. 3-0
- 50:31Speaker 1: playing against Old Domino this weekend. Lions here is at 6.
- 50:35Speaker 1: I would grab it before it heads over 7. I
- 50:38Speaker 1: like Sunbelt Billy in this one. Ricky Ronnie.
- 50:42Speaker 3: Is at 2. This is not a bad pick here.
- 50:45Speaker 3: I kind of like this number 2.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Give me James Madison laying it with that one. Another
- 50:50Speaker 1: game I liked. It's probably off the beat. Most of
- 50:52Speaker 1: the games I'm going to bet this week are not
- 50:54Speaker 1: your big games.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Give me ULL.
- 50:57Speaker 1: We have not been on the La La train in
- 50:59Speaker 1: a while. Charlotte is a fucking disaster. I mean, and
- 51:04Speaker 1: I like the coach at Charlotte a lot. But, man,
- 51:07Speaker 1: this team is terrible. If you haven't watched them play,
- 51:10Speaker 1: if you haven't watched Louisiana play yet, get ready to
- 51:12Speaker 1: meet my man Lunch Winfield. Getting it done. Plays quarterback
- 51:16Speaker 1: for ULL. Like this team to go to three and one.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Give me the give me the raging Cajuns on the
- 51:23Speaker 1: road in Charlotte. I don't think this team's going to
- 51:25Speaker 1: have any trouble covering this game.
- 51:27Speaker 2: I like this number two. I like where I like
- 51:29Speaker 2: where you're going here.
- 51:32Speaker 1: What else you got this week?
- 51:33Speaker 2: Anything? No, that's that's about it.
- 51:36Speaker 3: There's a couple of a couple of couple of things
- 51:39Speaker 3: off grid late night. I am fascinated to watch this
- 51:43Speaker 3: Minnesota-Washington game. I would love Minnesota plus nine and a half,
- 51:47Speaker 3: but Mississippi State made them look so slow that it
- 51:51Speaker 3: concerns me. But Washington is a flawed team. They just
- 51:56Speaker 3: are not clicking and not coming together well. You let
- 52:01Speaker 3: me be having a good day Saturday and I'm going
- 52:04Speaker 3: to be on the gophers baby plus nine and a half.
- 52:06Speaker 3: That's probably, that's probably my late night or I'll give you,
- 52:08Speaker 3: I'll give you one more too. I think Boise is
- 52:11Speaker 3: going to go to Western Michigan, lay six and a
- 52:14Speaker 3: half and put wood on them. If Boise is the
- 52:16Speaker 3: team they've showed me so far. And look, I love
- 52:20Speaker 3: Taylor and I love Western Michigan. Can't say enough about
- 52:23Speaker 3: great things about them, but on my Mac play, I'm
- 52:26Speaker 3: going Boise. I think they're going to go over there
- 52:29Speaker 3: and put wood to them. I just think they're a
- 52:31Speaker 3: better football team. And this team is used to traveling,
- 52:35Speaker 3: used to having to make, because some of these trips
- 52:37Speaker 3: are pretty big that what we're in the mountain West,
- 52:40Speaker 3: this is not going to be that big of a deal. Again,
- 52:42Speaker 3: love Western Michigan. Think they're the best team in the Mac.
- 52:45Speaker 3: I love the coach thinks this is his last year,
- 52:47Speaker 3: not at a big job, but I think Boise is
- 52:49Speaker 3: too talented for this number. I don't think that number
- 52:52Speaker 3: is big enough to get in love off that Michigan number.
- 52:54Speaker 3: I think six and a half Boise covers pretty easy.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Love it. Love it. Scotty, great board this week. We'll
- 53:00Speaker 1: sum everything up in the notes. Oh, one more game
- 53:03Speaker 1: I want to throw out there, Scotty. I want to
- 53:05Speaker 1: talk about the battle of the land of enchantment. I
- 53:09Speaker 1: told you I was going off the board this week.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Love it.
- 53:12Speaker 1: New Mexico at New Mexico State. Both of these teams
- 53:16Speaker 1: are improved, okay? I plan on playing some New Mexico
- 53:19Speaker 1: State probably some more this season. New Mexico was on
- 53:22Speaker 1: the board last week. We took them plus 21 to
- 53:25Speaker 1: get the cover. I think this week they come back.
- 53:29Speaker 1: These two teams don't like each other. I mean, and
- 53:32Speaker 1: this New Mexico team is two and one with their
- 53:35Speaker 1: only loss being last week to Oklahoma. I think New
- 53:38Speaker 1: Mexico is a far better team. Laying 11 and a half.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Give me New Mexico to win big in this one.
- 53:45Speaker 1: I like the Lobos in this spot.
- 53:48Speaker 2: I do, too. Look, man, first off, I love Eck.
- 53:51Speaker 2: I think he's a great coach.
- 53:52Speaker 3: If he's not coaching a powerful program next season, it's
- 53:57Speaker 3: only because he's a big dude.
- 54:00Speaker 2: That's the bottom line.
- 54:02Speaker 3: It's just because some dumbass athletic director doesn't want a
- 54:05Speaker 3: football coach. He wants a guy that looks good in
- 54:07Speaker 3: front of a TV. Eric is a great football coach.
- 54:12Speaker 3: And let me tell you something. I love the way
- 54:15Speaker 3: that I love their run schemes. I love this offense,
- 54:18Speaker 3: even though it's a very run based offense. I think
- 54:21Speaker 3: these guys are good, but they played really, really good
- 54:24Speaker 3: defense last week as a whole and in a tough environment.
- 54:28Speaker 2: And in Norman, I think this is a good team.
- 54:31Speaker 2: I agree with you.
- 54:32Speaker 3: Normally, this would be way too many points in it
- 54:34Speaker 3: because this is a pretty heated rivalry that nobody knows
- 54:38Speaker 3: anything about outside of the state of New Mexico. But
- 54:42Speaker 3: I think this is going to they're going to kind
- 54:43Speaker 3: of get after it. I like the Lobos here.
- 54:45Speaker 2: I think this team's the best team in their in
- 54:47Speaker 2: their league.
- 54:48Speaker 3: I think they're better. We said it was them and UNLV.
- 54:51Speaker 3: I think they're it. I think we figured that out already.
- 54:54Speaker 3: I think they're going to win the Mountain West. I
- 54:56Speaker 3: like this football team. Give me New Mexico. I'm with
- 54:59Speaker 3: you on this.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Anything else you want to throw out there or are
- 55:02Speaker 1: you good?
- 55:03Speaker 2: Nope, that is good, man.
- 55:04Speaker 3: We got a huge board, some great games. We covered
- 55:07Speaker 3: a bunch of stuff, but it is, man, it's going
- 55:11Speaker 3: to be great. Look, somebody's reading off all the great
- 55:14Speaker 3: games that you can sit down and plop down and
- 55:17Speaker 3: start watching at 11 o'clock in the morning, and it.
- 55:20Speaker 2: Goes all the way till late.
- 55:21Speaker 3: You're going to get to finish off with many in
- 55:23Speaker 3: Washington and Clemson and Cal late night, but you got Tennessee, Texas, State, Missouri,
- 55:34Speaker 3: you look at all the top. You got Florida, Ole Miss.
- 55:37Speaker 3: There's some great games in the Southeastern Conference this week.
- 55:40Speaker 2: Georgia, Oklahoma. I mean, man, there's some great games. I
- 55:44Speaker 2: think that game, there's some great games in the Big
- 55:46Speaker 2: Ten with Oregon, USC. This is a highly.
- 55:50Speaker 3: Underrated weekend of really, really good games here week four
- 55:55Speaker 3: of the.
- 55:55Speaker 2: College football season. Let's get it, baby. This is going
- 55:58Speaker 2: to be great.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Folks, thank you for the downloads, the shares. Hit us
- 56:02Speaker 1: up on Twitter. I'm not on there very much anymore,
- 56:04Speaker 1: but if we hear from you, that'd be great. Love y'all.
- 56:06Speaker 1: We'll talk to y'all next week.
