- 0:00Speaker 1: Reconed into Everything New York Mark Simone on seventen.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Wor Well, Well, it's right now. The greatest columnist in America,
- 0:11Speaker 2: Michael Goodwin. You can read his column every Sunday every
- 0:15Speaker 2: Wednesday in the New York Post, and all his columns
- 0:17Speaker 2: are up on the New York Post website. Michael Goodwin,
- 0:20Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Good morning, Mark, Thank you great to have.
- 0:24Speaker 2: You with us Iran. You've written a couple of columns
- 0:27Speaker 2: now about Iran. Tell everybody how you feel about the
- 0:30Speaker 2: president's choice here to go to war.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Look, I think it's obviously risky, but I believe it's
- 0:36Speaker 1: also necessary. Something had to be done about this regime
- 0:42Speaker 1: that was threatening America, of course threatening Israel. Threatening as
- 0:47Speaker 1: we can see now all of the Arab countries that
- 0:51Speaker 1: are our allies in the region are now being here
- 0:55Speaker 1: with iranium missiles and rockets. This was the world top
- 1:00Speaker 1: trouble maker in the sense of exporting the Islamic Revolution
- 1:06Speaker 1: throughout the region around the world, and they killed hundreds
- 1:10Speaker 1: and hundreds of Americans in the forty seven years there
- 1:14Speaker 1: have been in power. So look, this is obviously a
- 1:17Speaker 1: difficult decision for a president to make, to go to war,
- 1:23Speaker 1: and unfortunately there are American casualties. But I think the
- 1:29Speaker 1: question becomes is it the right decision? Fundamentally, I believe
- 1:34Speaker 1: it's not only right, I believe there's a level of
- 1:37Speaker 1: righteousness to it because of the evil that this regime
- 1:42Speaker 1: has done to the world and of course to ninety
- 1:46Speaker 1: million Iranians who are now on the verbs of liberation.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Yeah, did you ever think you see Democrats out in
- 1:54Speaker 2: the street protesting against killing the Ayatola, a man who
- 2:01Speaker 2: kills protesters, they're actually protesting his death. Did you ever
- 2:04Speaker 2: think can see that? Well?
- 2:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's mark. It's a continuation of what we
- 2:09Speaker 1: have seen since Trump came down that escalator in twenty fifteen.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Anything he's for, they are reflexively against, even when it
- 2:20Speaker 1: makes no sense, even when it goes against their own history.
- 2:25Speaker 1: But they are just warped by the fear that Donald
- 2:29Speaker 1: Trump will get something done that will embarrass them and
- 2:33Speaker 1: their party, and so they have to oppose him at
- 2:36Speaker 1: every step.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty funny. So if he pulls this off
- 2:44Speaker 2: and Iran becomes a much better place, and that probably
- 2:48Speaker 2: will calm everything down in the Middle East, that would
- 2:51Speaker 2: stop Hesbala all that stuff.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's amazing, you know, Mike. I think another thing
- 2:57Speaker 1: that's come out of this is that Israel is emerging
- 3:03Speaker 1: as America's not only important regional ally. I think it's
- 3:08Speaker 1: become America's most important ally anywhere. You look at the
- 3:13Speaker 1: behavior of the so called great powers of Europe sitting
- 3:18Speaker 1: there complaining about this, critiquing it, opposing it. What are
- 3:23Speaker 1: they doing that they have lagged on the Russian invasion,
- 3:28Speaker 1: They had to be coaxed into paying more money. I mean,
- 3:32Speaker 1: they've all just surrendered to the woke culture, and of
- 3:36Speaker 1: course they're all afraid of their domestic Muslim populations. If
- 3:41Speaker 1: you cannot be four square against the Uranium regime, what
- 3:46Speaker 1: could you? What are you waiting for? What will trip
- 3:50Speaker 1: you into action? I mean it's really something breathtaking. So
- 3:53Speaker 1: I think Israel is now America's most important ally.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Michael Goodwin, mom Donny's wife all sorts of controversy now
- 4:05Speaker 2: that we're twitter things about the October seventh Holocaust pictures
- 4:10Speaker 2: and she's clicking like on that, How will how does
- 4:14Speaker 2: he ever explain this?
- 4:16Speaker 1: Yeah? I think his answer basically that you know, she's
- 4:21Speaker 1: a private citizen, I think is not sufficient. I mean,
- 4:26Speaker 1: I think he has to answer for himself. Does he
- 4:30Speaker 1: feel that way, does he agree with that? I think
- 4:33Speaker 1: that's the question that has to be put to him.
- 4:37Speaker 1: And now, of course, we have the other incident from
- 4:40Speaker 1: yesterday outside Gracie Mansion, and he has yet, to my understanding,
- 4:46Speaker 1: he has yet to condemn the people involved. He has
- 4:50Speaker 1: a blanky condemnation of violence. But this is not ordinary violence.
- 4:55Speaker 1: This is terrorism inspired violence.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, luckily it looks they're going to charge him federally,
- 5:01Speaker 2: so he'll go to the US attorney.
- 5:02Speaker 1: But right, we have to worry about Alvin Bragg.
- 5:07Speaker 2: But you're right, he hasn't Mark.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I think it does raise another question. Where's Kathy Hoko
- 5:12Speaker 1: on this? Right? Where is the other Democratic officier? Where's
- 5:18Speaker 1: Chuck Schumer on this? Where? Where are the people who
- 5:22Speaker 1: are supposed to keep New York safe? Meanwhile, the Department
- 5:25Speaker 1: of Homeland Security is closed because of Democrats lost of
- 5:30Speaker 1: the budget.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Yeah, now you've covered Chuck Schumer for a long time.
- 5:35Speaker 2: How the hell did he ever end up like this
- 5:37Speaker 2: where you think he'd be the first one supporting Israel
- 5:39Speaker 2: and it's taking out the eye toll? How did he
- 5:42Speaker 2: get so screwed up.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, Mike, there's an old say that sometimes
- 5:47Speaker 1: party asks too much, and I think Schumor has never
- 5:52Speaker 1: really said that. I think he's gone along with his
- 5:55Speaker 1: party no matter who is leading it or what it is.
- 5:59Speaker 1: He's afraid to stand up to the party. You'll stand
- 6:03Speaker 1: up to Donald Trump will call him names, he'll threaten
- 6:07Speaker 1: the Supreme Court, but it will comes to you know,
- 6:10Speaker 1: AOC or people like that. He quivers so.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Miss you would admire a guy like that, like a
- 6:16Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman, a guy who's not afraid to say just
- 6:19Speaker 2: common sense, whatever the right thing is to do. That's
- 6:22Speaker 2: the position he'll take. And he's you think he's got
- 6:25Speaker 2: to do a good shot against Kathy Hockel.
- 6:28Speaker 1: And I think Mark that people crave, you know, sort
- 6:33Speaker 1: of people who are politicians, who are honest and who
- 6:37Speaker 1: are not beholden to an idea onology. Most people are
- 6:43Speaker 1: common sense. They want their politicians to be. That's why,
- 6:47Speaker 1: to me, the surprise of the last ten years is
- 6:51Speaker 1: John Fetterman, Right, He's the one Democrat in the Senate
- 6:56Speaker 1: who says sensible things, even to me if means agreeing
- 7:01Speaker 1: with President Trump. But no other Democrat will go where
- 7:05Speaker 1: Fetterman goes.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yeah, he's like the Bill Clinton of right now. This
- 7:09Speaker 2: is a similar to win Clinton emerged among all the
- 7:12Speaker 2: left wing wackos and led the party back to the center.
- 7:15Speaker 1: You think that, yes, exactly, No, I think that's a
- 7:17Speaker 1: good point.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, Michael Goodwin. Great having you with us. And
- 7:21Speaker 2: you can read Michael Goodwin's column every Monday, I mean
- 7:24Speaker 2: every Sunday, every Sunday and every Wednesday in the New
- 7:27Speaker 2: York Post. Keep up the great work and we'll talk
- 7:30Speaker 2: to you next week.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Thank you, Mark.
- 7:32Speaker 2: All right, take care. We got a lot coming up
- 7:36Speaker 2: in the next hour. Well, we'll get to Bruce Blackman
- 7:39Speaker 2: and Fetterman, and there aren't guys like that, common sense,
- 7:43Speaker 2: reasonable politicians out there. We'll get to department stores closing
- 7:48Speaker 2: all over the Tri state area, the biggest ones. Also,
- 7:51Speaker 2: we'll get back to the war and a whole lot
- 7:53Speaker 2: more coming up in the next era. So have the
- 7:56Speaker 2: greatest polster in the world. What are the numbers. What
- 7:58Speaker 2: does it look like for the midterms? What does it
- 8:00Speaker 2: look like in the governor's race. We'll get told them
- 8:01Speaker 2: that coming up. Hey, don't forget Buck and Clay at
- 8:04Speaker 2: noon today, get Buck Sexton's new book. It just came out.
- 8:07Speaker 2: It's already a bestseller. In fact, it's on Amazon. But
- 8:11Speaker 2: they'll be here at noon. Then you got the most
- 8:13Speaker 2: listened to radio show in America, Sean Hannity three o'clock.
- 8:16Speaker 2: He got Jesse Kelly at six, Jimmy Faylor with a
- 8:19Speaker 2: great show that's very funny, every night nine to midnight.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Don't forget Curtis Leiwa is now co hosting the morning
- 8:26Speaker 2: show every morning six to ten here on seven ten
