- Brice: Welcome back everybody. It's Triple Alpha Sports Talk. I'm Bryce. That's Roy over there. There is no Josh this week. He stood us up last minute. Roy Clapp: Yeah. Brice: I am going to jump into the NFL scores of last week. Starting off with Thursday night football, the best player from the draft, Caleb Williams, beats the worst quarterback from the draft, Drake May, on Thursday night football 30-24, going into Sunday on the noon slate. Steelers beat the Saints 16-10 in an ugly game. Giants beat the Texans 27-21. Buccaneers steamroll the Panthers. They handed the ball off a hundred times, beat them 43-13. The Dolphins. Dolphins upset kind of the Jets, two of the worst teams in the league. Game could have went either way. Bengals at Ravens, the Bengals beat the shit out of Snoop Huntley. Vikings at Colts, another awful game, sixteen to ten. Browns get another win over the Titans and a close one twenty-seven to twenty-four. Falcons beat the forty-niners with probably the biggest upset of the week. Next game. Broncos at Cardinals beat him 30 to 16. Bo Nicks took it serious when Ryan Fitzmagic was telling him that he was a disgrace to the quarterback position. He aired the ball at almost every play. Then we go to Vegas, where the Rams beat the Raiders 35-21. Packers play the Lions and lose 17-20 to them in one of the ugliest games I've ever seen. Chiefs get destroyed by the Seahawks three to twenty. also snapping their undefeated record. And then on Monday night football, the Cowboys beat the Eagles thirty eight, twenty-one. I don't even know who played quarterback in that game, but yeah, Cowboys finally got a win, so. Roy, anything you want talk about? Roy Clapp: Minnesota being undefeated. The only last undefeated team. Team that can't score more than 17 points a game, 15 points a game, kick nothing kicked nothing but field goals, but their defense is probably the best in the league. And that's what keeping them there. I d I just can't believe they're still undefeated. the Brice: I'll talk about the Vikings real quick after you said that. But Roy Clapp: Okay. Go ahead. Go talk about it. Brice: I do wanna say that their defense is phenomenal. The they're blitzing like eighty six percent of the time, I think I saw. That's pretty insane. That's like high school football level stuff. That's not something you really see in the NFL because quarterbacks are so good at diagnosing it. But their defensive coordinator, I think his name's Aaron Glenn, right? He Roy Clapp: No, it's Roads. Roads. Brice: Rhodes. Roy Clapp: Yeah. Brice: Vikings defensive coordinator's name is Rhodes. Roy Clapp: Yeah. Was a Miami Dolphins coach. Aaron Glenn's he's at the he's a Jets pit coach. Flores. Flores. Flores. That's Brice: Yeah, right? Brian Flores, that's his name. I knew it wasn't Yeah. I Roy Clapp: what isn't that's Brice: always get Flores and Glenn mixed up 'cause they're both really good at defense. But Like I was saying about the team, he just disguises the blitz so well. I don't know. I don't know how a quarterback could possibly read it. But I do wanna say on the other hand, they don't have an offense. So therefore they're gonna be in every game. They just, in my opinion, haven't really played a phenomenal team yet. So they're six Roy Clapp: No. Brice: and I would say the best team they played was the Bears, but it was a monsoon and Caleb goes down in the fourth quarter and they win nine to three. They played the Packers before they got an O line and they actually scored a lot of points in that game. they played the Buccaneers who have been god awful all year. They played the Dolphins and then they played the Saints and now they played the Colts. Like it's I think the next few weeks they play the l the Lions, who have one of the best offenses in the league. They just can't seem to score. I think they're leading in yards but don't have they're not even close to leading in points. Then they play the Bills, and then they play the Packers, and then the Forty Niners, and then the Falcons. That's five straight games of very good to good offenses in my opinion. So I think these next five weeks we're gonna really see what the Falc the what the Vikings are like. If they come out of it with three wins, I would say yeah, they're a legit team. If they go three and two in these next five. But Roy Clapp: Yeah, no, they're I they g they have played some easy schedule, but they're yeah, but your o their offense, Kyler Murray's terrible, and so is Carlson Wentz. So not getting much production out of them. Ravens look terrible without Jamar Lamar Jackson, and I think he's not gonna be out again this week, is what I read. So I just I can't believe how bad they are with with quarterback play. the Chiefs look terrible. defense was pretty good, but their offense for some reason just could not move. And Seattle's defense is good, but not that good. it just it just surprises me. Brice: I saw a couple stats about that game. That was the lowest amount of points they've scored since Patrick Mahomes took his first snap as a starter. Three points in a game. that's that's terrible. But I do wanna say Roy Clapp: Well, they wanna they wanna pass the ball and the Sea A Seahawks are like number one in pass defense. So I mean that's tough. Brice: They had very good man defense. But the Chiefs, they were underdogs in this game. I don't know if you saw the line. I've never seen Roy Clapp: I do it. Brice: a team that was what were they, six and and they were underdogs. That's crazy Roy Clapp: Five and they're five and own, yeah. No Brice: to me. Roy Clapp: It's you see going in a going up there, that's tough to play in. Brice: Yeah, I I I agree, but I think the Lions should have at least been like one and a half Chiefs or something, but I think it was like three and a half Seahawks. other games I wanted to talk about. really much. Maybe the forty niners, they got upset. They really have been steamrolling everybody. They were also undefeated. The Falcons have seemed to like started to click. Michael Penix just throws it to Kyle Pitts all the time. It's like what every single fan of the Falcons has been saying for years. Hand the ball off to Bijan as much as you can and throw the ball to Kyle Pitts and Drake London. And Michael Penix does all three of those things. So they're actually starting to play good football for the once since the Super Bowl. Roy Clapp: I the Forty Niners is hurt too. They're getting they CMC going down. Th a lot of injuries going on there. Brice: yeah. Roy Clapp: Last thing I want to t say is hey, what look out JJ McCarthy getting a chance and actually looking good for once. Brice: He di that was probably the best he's ever looked in his whole career. Roy Clapp: I look comfortable and I d I think it's he's just in a situation. The problem with I think with Minnesota, they expected too much too early. He needed to sit. He's needed to sit the last two years. And injuries have kind of helped that. And I think John Harbaugh has been l making this team a little different. And I think he's gett getting a little I mean, he's got some tough I I thought I really thought Houston's defense would really be tough on him, but it I mean it was, but he he did a gr did an amazing job for once. Brice: Yeah, in my opinion, JJ all through college, he didn't have to be like the guy. He you guys had such a good defense and such a good run game. He never had to be the guy. He made throws on third downs when he needed to. That's all he needed to do. Then he Roy Clapp: Mm-hmm. Brice: got picked as a first I think he went number nine or something. Roy Clapp: Yeah. Brice: in my opinion, he was not a number nine quarterback. He had the potential to be, but I thought even if you take him in the first round, he's a type of player who needs to sit for two years at least. Roy Clapp: No, that he he needs to sit. They should have what Minnesota should have kept Sam Darnold and let him sit for a couple of years and then let him play. But then they and then, you know, he didn't he only got ten starts in two years with injuries. I it it just I mean, it doesn't look like it doesn't look good on Minnesota coach. You know, you let Sam Darnold go who's really who's been playing pretty well. And then you let J J he gave up on J J for Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz, who've been terrible. So Brice: Yeah. Roy Clapp: I don't know, just hap I'm just happy for him. He's he's such a good good ball player and I think he's got the potential. It's just getting a getting a chance where he can actually succeed where he and that's what they they he's not making mistakes. He's doing what he's he made some amazing throws that I didn't think he still could do. So Brice: He's actually in a pretty good position now 'cause he's a he is a third string quarterback. Who cares what you do? He's got literally zero pressure. He can just go out there and throw the ball as free as you can and that's the best position to be in a quarterback is a guy who can just do what he wants. So Roy Clapp: Yep. Very happy. Brice: Alright. going into this week, starting off we ha Josh already has his picks in here, so I can read those off as well. I'll go over last week's scores real quick. Coming in last, Roy went five and nine. Roy Clapp: Yeah. Brice: And then in second, Josh at eight and six and me at nine and five. I continue to just put on a dominant performance. Roy Clapp: Yeah. Brice: Some that we people missed. Roy took the Patriots over the Bears and me and Josh did not. Josh got the Steelers or me and Roy both took the Saints. All missed the Forty Niners. All got the Browns and the Vikings right. All missed the Jets. All missed the Panthers. All got the Bengals. I'm the only one that got the Giants. the Broncos won. We all got that. Me and Roy missed the Packers. Roy or Josh had Lions. Rams at Raiders, me and Josh had Rams, Roy had Raiders. Seahawks at Chiefs, I'm the only one that got that one. And then me and Roy got Cowboys right, and the Cowboy fan did not. He picked Eagles. So That was big f Roy Clapp: Pretty common. Brice: Yeah. Alright, this week's th the first game we have is Panthers at Packers. Roy Clapp: Packers. I think Panthers did not look good last week. Brice: Yeah, Josh also has Packers, so I'm gonna go Panthers. I think Panthers defense is a they have no run defense and the Packers have Josh Jacobs back, so the serial kill and rapist might run for a ton of yards, but I still am gonna go with the Panthers because I think that offense can light up the Packers defense. the next game is Ravens at Bills. This is a good game. Even though Lamar yeah, probably not actually. Roy Clapp: Yeah, I'm gonna go Bills. I don't think Lamar's playing and he's still limping, so I d I just can't imagine. Even if he does play, it's gonna be very good. Brice: Did you see him in the press conference about why he hasn't come back yet? he was supposed to only be out I think three weeks. When s Tyler Huntley comes in and he goes two and one. That's exactly what you want out of a backup quarterback. And now he's expected to keep playing multiple games like last week where Lamar should have been back, but Lamar's saying, I am not a good pocket passer, I am better when I can be mobile which I agree, but dude, come back and help your team like it's seeming like he doesn't want to play football at this point. Roy Clapp: I think he's just hurt and he just doesn't want to pull I can't he knows if he does come back he won't be very good. Brice: Yeah. The next game is Titans at Bangles and Josh has Bangles. Roy Clapp: I'll take Bingles too. Brice: Me as well. Then we have the Vikings at Lions. I Roy Clapp: I'll take a lot. I'm go ahead. Brice: you say you're going lions? Roy Clapp: I'm going Lions. I I don't think the I think this will be the Vikings first loss. Brice: Josh also has Lions. I'm gonna go Vikings just because you guys both have the other ones. But Dan Campbell, the amount of times he goes for on fourth down, this defense is gonna stop a lot of those fourth downs, I think, and it's gonna be bad for Dan Campbell. Then we have Raiders at Jets. Josh has the Jets actually. I'm gonna take the Raiders in this one. Roy Clapp: I am too, I'm gonna take the Raiders. Brice: Then we have Browns at Steelers. Roy Clapp: Acho a Brice: Me is no trainer, I'm taking the Browns. They're gonna be on Aaron Don or Aaron Rodgers all night. Roy Clapp: I'm gonna take Steelers. Brice: Josh also has the Steelers. This could be a really good or really bad week for me, I think. Then we have Falcons at Bucks. I think Falcons are figuring it out. I'm gonna take the Falcons. Roy Clapp: I am too. Brice: Josh did as well. Then we have Colts at Jags. Roy Clapp: I'm gonna take jack. the bolts look terrible. And yeah, that's great. Brice: Yeah. They're fire sailing right now too. I would be surprised if Jonathan Taylor's even on the team by then. Roy Clapp: yeah. Brice: then we have Chargers at Rams. Roy Clapp: Rams. Brice: Do Chargers even have a win yet? Roy Clapp: No, and they got too many injuries. It's not gonna not gonna happen this week. Brice: take the Rams as well. Cardinals at Cowboys. It's tough to pick the Cardinals. Roy Clapp: Yeah, I'll take cowboys. Brice: Chiefs at Broncos. Roy Clapp: man. Chiefs look so Brice: I'm thinking Roy Clapp: bad. Brice: Yeah, I'm taking the Broncos. That defense is still Roy Clapp: I'll take the Brice: really good. Roy Clapp: I'll take the Broncos too. Brice: Josh actually has Chiefs in that one. We have Patriots at Dolphins. Roy Clapp: That's Brice: I agree. So did Josh. Eagles at Commanders. Man, that is gonna be a shit show of a game. Roy Clapp: Yeah. I'm gonna take the commanders. The Eagles are hurt and I think Barkley's not gonna play. Their defense looks hurt. I mean they don't they don't look very good. Brice: Josh also has the commanders, so I'm gonna take the commanders with you guys, 'cause I have no idea who to pick. I saw a tweet though. It said if you would have celebrated by having sex with your wife the last time Jaden Daniels won football game, the kid would be walking by now. Roy Clapp: Really. Hm. Brice: Yeah. He's always hurt. They've only won games where he's been hurt l since last year. Then primetime. I believe this is prime time, Sunday night football. Bears Roy Clapp: It's Monday night football. Brice: or Monday night football. Bears at Seahawks. I'm obviously picking the bears. Roy Clapp: I I'm gonna take Seahawks. I think your the pass defense is just too good for it's gonna be it's gonna be Calen Williams running a lot. Brice: Josh also has the Seahawks. I d I don't care how good defenses are. I know the monsoon game happened with the Vikings. I don't think there's a defense in the league that can slow down this offense under 30, really. Only time that we don't score on drives, it seems, is whenever we'd shoot ourselves in the foot. Alright, that is it. Roy Clapp: It'll be loud there. Brice: That is all. We bi weeks is Texans Saints Giants forty Niners. Right, we're not ball. Roy Clapp: All right. College football. games this week. we Virginia got beat by Duke. Baylor loses, had to lead 20s like 21 to 7 or something on Kansas. Kansas came back and beat Baylor. Kent State beats Akron. Oklahoma goes in and beats or Beats Mississippi State with Mississippi State's quarterback. Probably the bet one of the best quarterbacks in the country is out for the year with a toe injury, gonna have a toe surgery. So Mississippi State, they were winning when he was healthy. And since he's lost, they haven't won a game since. So Texas beats Old Miss. I couldn't believe I was I watched that game. I really thought Ole Miss would offense would do well. They just didn't, they couldn't move the ball in the first half for some reason. And Marsh Manny looked good in the first half, but didn't look terrible in the second half. So I don't I don't know what the deal is. Utah Houston at the end of the night, Houston pulls that off. or I'm sorry, Utah wins that game. It was a pretty good game for the for the most part. The twenty one's thirteen, Utah wins. Air Force, gosh, Air Force. We had you all, we all you let us down. I'm trying to find that score here for you. Air Force loses. Dang it. Where's that at? Brice: Do I mean Roy Clapp: Loser to Wyoming, which I really thought Wyoming wasn't gonna be that good, but it was it was Thursday night game. It was a Thursday night game. That's why I can't find it. they lost twenty eight fourteen. Wasn't even close, early. It was twenty one to twenty one to nothing before Air Force got on the board and finally and then scored a couple points and that was it. So just was not Air Force's they were on the road, I guess. They were at Wyoming. Tennessee, South Carolina, South Carolina takes care of Tennessee. 27-24. Tennessee had that game. A couple turnovers late. And South Carolina came back and won that game. 27-24. Oregon. Illinois, man. Oregon just losing left and right. Illinois had that game pretty, I mean, Oregon got up on him, and then Illinois took took a lead late and just kept it 21-10. And then Indiana, Michigan. If Michigan could have a offensive coordinator that could call a fucking ball game, that's a that's a different ball game. Lose thirteen to six in overtime. Michigan had a couple times inside the five. first third and goal in the one and you get sacked on a stupid ass call that play f pass call it just stupid, just d dumb just dumb things. Michigan should have had that game, but they lost that thirteen to six. Our picks, we t we were all terrible can in picks this week. I was last at four and six. And then Josh and Bryce both five and five. We all lost Virginia. We all lost Baylor. I had O Old Miss. You guys had Texas. I missed that one. We all lost Air Force. All lost Oregon. The only one I got on you guys was South Carolina over Tennessee. And then you guys had Indiana and I had Michigan. So that was our it was a it was a bad dud week. It was parody in college football's a little bit better and it's starting to show. as we get late in the season, especially with injuries and just not not fun. Any you got anything on college football? Brice: I don't. I I do wanna say though, Tennessee losing to South Carolina is like one of the reasons I really don't like college football that much. 'Cause we just beat Alabama and had the big upset win. Looks like we have a good shot at making the playoffs and now we might not even make the playoffs 'cause we lose to South Carolina. I just it it's why I don't like college football that much. Roy Clapp: Yeah, I love college trouble because of that. even though Michigan looks like shit, you know, we haven't lost a game under seven points yet. a one score we've lost only every game's been a one every game, even the wins have been a one-score game. we had Indiana, just you know, I love that, you know, it's hard like Texas losing to Florida last week at home. And then this week they they take care of old miss. I mean, just SEC Big Ten teams are hard to pick pick because They're you're they're just tough games, week in, week out. everybody's tough. Big No. Brice: Doesn't even matter what the spread is. They they could just win. It's so weird. Roy Clapp: in the Big Twelve, that's why right now they're we're wondering if how many Big Twelve teams are gonna get in playoff and how many Big Ten teams, 'cause it's 'cause everybody's beating up on each other and and SEC and Big Ten. So that's gonna be it's gonna get interesting on that. So All right. Let's get into picks here. Brice: So let me go over the overall record real quick. Roy Clapp: okay. Brice: So in last for football and for college and pro, Roy is at one sixteen and seventy-eight. Josh is one ahead at one seventeen and seventy seven. And I am seven ahead of that at one twenty four and seventy. So I'm kinda running away with it. Roy Clapp: All right. Lot of games still. A lot of games. All right. First game of the on the docket will be on Saturday. Will be Arizona at Texas Tech. Texas Tech is a three and a half point favorite. Arizona's ranked twenty second, Texas ranked thirteenth, thirteenth. I'm Brice: Take text back. Roy Clapp: Yeah, so did Josh. I'll take Texas Tech. next one, Big Ten Fox noon to highlight here. Wisconsin goes to Iowa. Wisconsin out ranked twenty fifth. Iowa's a three and a half point favorite at home. Brice: Didn't Wisconsin just have a huge upset this week? Roy Clapp: Yeah, they just beat crap. Who they just beat? look real quick. Brice: think something like crazy happened in that game too, didn't it? Roy Clapp: They just beat USC. So Brice: Yeah. Roy Clapp: yeah, and USC was ranked. So yeah, they just that was a and blew out twenty four to seven. It wasn't even close. Brice: Yeah, that's one of those weird teams to pick. man. You said Iowa was favored? Roy Clapp: I'm gonna go Wisconsin. Brice: Okay. You said Iowa was favored? Roy Clapp: Iowa's favorite three and a half. Brice: I'm gonna take Iowa then, along with Josh. Next game is Auburn versus Ole Miss. Roy Clapp: Yep. Auburn is at Old Miss. Old Miss is a thirteen and a half point favorite. Brice: I will take all mess. Roy Clapp: Yeah, I think Auburn has looked better, but I'll take Old Miss. Brice: Josh did as well. Roy Clapp: Northwestern against Oregon. Let me find that spread here. Northwestern it Oregon is a three and a half point favorite. Brice: I can't take Oregon after this week. I have to take Northwestern. Josh took Oregon. Roy Clapp: I'm gonna take Northwestern as well. I think Yeah, Oregon's struggling and I said I just got I think Northwestern's a f physical team. All right, South Mississippi versus UL Monroe. Both are South Mississippi is two and five and U and UL Monroe is one and six. US South Mississippi is a three and a half point favorite. Brice: I can't stand you. This is a crazy game to put on here. Roy Clapp: yeah. Gosh. It's at UL Monroe. Brice: Gimme the home team. Roy Clapp: man. I'll take Southern Miss. They're favored, so if I Brice: Josh also took southern mess. Roy Clapp: All right. let's see. Move down here. Washington State versus Est Southern sorry, Washington State versus San Diego State. And Washington San Diego State is a two and a half point favorite. Gosh, one and seven versus three and five. Brice: I'll take Washington State. Roy Clapp: I'll take San Diego state at home. I d just that's I don't Brice: Just also took San Diego State. Roy Clapp: All right, Ohio State versus USC. This is gonna be interesting. Ohio State's quarterback is out. Ohio State is a six and a half point favorite though. Brice: Best player in the country is on their team. I'm taking them every time. Roy Clapp: I'm gonna take U I'm gonna take USC. I think USC is gonna upset him. Brice: Even after they just got upset by Wisconsin. Roy Clapp: Yeah, it's at home. And this quarterback's young at Ohio State. I I just think this we'll have to see. I think it'd be it's gonna a little different. Illinois Brice: Just awful. Roy Clapp: versus Maryland. I mean sorry, Air For Brice: We skipped Air Force. Roy Clapp: Air Force versus Connecticut. I missed that one. Air Force a one half point favor. I'm taking Air Force. I figured you all Brice: Yeah, we all are an Air Force. Roy Clapp: All right, Illinois and Maryland. Illinois is a two and a half point favor at Maryland. I'll take Illinois. Maryland just fired their foot football coach, so I'll take Illinois. Brice: Yeah, if Maryland didn't just fire their football coach, I would've taken Maryland 'cause Illinois just Roy Clapp: And then Michigan travels out east to Rutgers. Michigan is a fifteen and a half point favorite. I I'm taking Michigan, obviously. A Rutgers is terrible. Brice: We are Roy Clapp: but hopefully it's a different story and on offensive calls. Get enough attention, they should probably maybe the offensive corner might try and change something up for once. But and that's all for college football. Brice: all for football. I guess we can talk a little bit about the World Series. Game five is Roy Clapp: I it's been a I mean it's going on right now and it's one nothing. Milwaukee, I mean Milwaukee has just dominated this series. Got lucky last night, Tampa in extra innings. Jackson Curio is like five for f like two batting five hundred. it's just been a been crazy how bad it's been for Tampa. They're just not they're they're just I mean, Milwaukee's just playing hard. They're playing just playing too good right now. Brice: Yeah, and I just I kinda thought this is how it was gonna go f for whatever A L team. I just didn't think the A L was as good as the NL. I don't even think it was close. I Roy Clapp: I agree. Brice: I think the Padres are probably the second best team in the playoffs and they only won three games total, I think. The Dodgers are probably the third best g team and they got swept by the Brewers. I just don't think any team in the A L was competing with the any team in the in the NL this year. It just I didn't think the A L was that good. Roy Clapp: No, I agree. I think the AL underperformed this year and they a lot of teams just weren't that good. Either ones that were supposed to be good didn't perform. and I think I mean talent wise they're about even, but I I was kinda surprised but Milwaukee was there over the Dodgers. But Milwaukee, I mean, they their hitting has been their timely hitting has been crazy. just Brice: No, it's always been for them and it just finally clicked in the playoffs and not just the regular season for It it was bound to happen, but Roy Clapp: Yeah. I I it's they've been pretty good this year. pr that Pratt has been really awesome at short. just guys you wouldn't know have been hitting the ball and that's just just crazy. Brice: Yeah. I don't really have much else to say on that. I'm sure they close it out tonight. If not, they close it out in game six. Yeah. Roy Clapp: It's two n yeah, it's two nothing in the fifth already, so Brice: I mean first pitch of the game, or first inning there it scored a run, so. that is all I have for sports, I think. I think I just we just have miscellaneous now. Roy Clapp: Yeah, I don't have a game. So you said you did. Brice: Yeah, I have one game and I'm doing it because Josh isn't here. I didn't want to do this with three people. But this game basically mean you I'm gonna name a player in the NFL and me and you are gonna bid back and forth how many players we can name that are better than them. So Roy Clapp: In in the NFL, you said? Brice: Yeah, with their position. Roy Clapp: Okay. Brice: So, I'm gonna throw out the name Dak Prescott. Roy Clapp: So quarterbacks. Brice: Yes. And I am gonna start the bidding. I I can name one quarterback better than Dak Prescott. Roy Clapp: Well, I could name two that are better than Dak Prescott. Brice: I can name five. If you can't then you call me out and I have to name five. Roy Clapp: I know, I'm try I I'm trying to think of all the all the quarterbacks right now. I think I could do six. I think I could do six quarterbacks. Brice: I'll go seven. Roy Clapp: man. It's what I think or what we both think are better. Brice: We have to agree on them. Roy Clapp: man. You said seven. Brice: Yeah. Roy Clapp: See, I can name I know three, four in the AFC. Who maybe Name the seven. I think I I wanna see what you're saying. Brice: Okay. I'm gonna start it off with a big three. Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow. Roy Clapp: Yeah, if I can name Brice: I'm gonna say Lamar is better even though he's hurt right now. Roy Clapp: give you Lamar. When he when he's healthy he's he's top he's a top three quarterback. Brice: I will say Brock Purdy is a better quarterback than Dak Prescott. I'm talking right now. Not the years he was pushing V P stats, I'm talking right now. Roy Clapp: I'll give you Brock pr I don't know. I I I'll g see that was one I I one popped in my head but I'm like, man, that's th they're about the same. I yeah. Who else you got? 'Cause I'm I Brice: I'm taking Caleb Williams. Caleb Williams is playing as a top five quarterback in the league right now. I don't think that's arguable. Roy Clapp: I'll give you Caleb right now. Brice: let me think on this one for a second. I need to find another. Roy Clapp: I can think of one more that's probably better. But that's about it. maybe two more. I guess I could have gone two more. Brice: Who else am I missing? I may be Jordan Love. I don't know about Jordan Love. Roy Clapp: So I was I was giving Matthew Stafford one. Brice: yeah, Matthew Stafford, I don't know how I missed that. take me at the Roy Clapp: But then you then but then I was Drake May, Jordan Love, see Brock Purdy, all them are about the same Brice: I would say Sam Darnold. Roy Clapp: See, they're all about the same. So I can't Brice: Yeah. Roy Clapp: say they're better than him. Brice: So I think I think we agree that there's seven better. These at least seven better. Roy Clapp: I say, I I know Matthew Stafford, I'll give you Caleb Williams, then the four, it's Brice: Yeah. Roy Clapp: just Josh at six, which is whether you consider joy any of the other ones. Brice: I consider Brock Purdy better. Roy Clapp: Actually no, there's probably one I I probably wouldn't Who? Brice: Trevor Lawrence is better. Trevor Lawrence. Roy Clapp: see I Trevor Lawrence is just a game manager. Doesn't really do anything. I might give I might give you Justin Herbert. He's got a better arm, but he's not been playing very good this year. Brice: this year no. Not this year. in the past I would say it was sub Jalen Hurts, but not anymore. Aaron Rodgers has played decent this year. Roy Clapp: Yeah, I wouldn't put him. I'll give you the seven. I'll give you that 'cause there's a couple, but you're talking you're finding a line with with Jordan Love. I Brice: Yeah. Roy Clapp: mean Jordan Love's pretty good. Is he better than Dak? I still think Dak's is t a one of the top quarterbacks. Brice: I saw that the NFL came out with their top quarterbacks and I'm trying to find their list. I think I found their list. I already don't agree with this list because Caleb's not even in the top twelve. Do they have Caleb Williams? they're this must be old because they had Tyson Bage and not Caleb Williams. Okay, we what are we on, week seven? Roy Clapp: week eight. Brice: Eight. Alright. They have Josh Allen number one. They have Caleb Williams number two. Which I I mean he's leading by every metric this year so far. Joe Burrow number three. They have CJ Stroud number four. Brock Purdy number five. Jared Goff number six. Trevor Lawrence number seven. Drake May at eight. And we could have thrown Drake May in there as well. And then they have Roy Clapp: Yeah. Brice: Prescott at nine. So Roy Clapp: Yeah, I'm seeing a nine on this list that I'm looking at, but they have Brock Purdy, they have J Jared Golf ahead of him. Brice: Yeah, they have at six. Roy Clapp: See, I don't even have Caleb Williams on here, so on this list. Brice: you must be looking at week six. You have to scroll to week eight if you're on that. Roy Clapp: I'm working as of week eight, D NFL top tier quarterback rankings throughout the performances, leading for efficiency and production. And that yeah, he's not even a top ten. Brice: That's crazy. He's got the highest completion percentage in the league right now. And he's averaging the s second most yards per throw? Yeah. yeah, I mean he leads by every metric almost. And I mean he's he didn't play for three games, so it's a little different, but Caleb his biggest issues has always been his accuracy on short throws and holding the ball. Roy Clapp: Which he still struggles with. Brice: He's been the best in the league at it this year. His he has the best accuracy in the league right now. Roy Clapp: I'm gonna say he's he's he's struggled throwing some of those passes, shorter passes. I know he's throwing seventy one percent, but he he's I've se he overthrows a lot of those shorter passes. Brice: Yeah, his first game back from injury, he I think he was like twenty of twenty to start the game or something and ended up only missing like four throws. But yeah, everything that he was criticized on, he's gotten exponentially better. That's exactly what you want to see out of a young quarterback, so I don't have much else to really talk about. Roy Clapp: Nope. Brice: short episode. It's always shorter if we're missing one person. But and baseball's winding down Roy Clapp: Yeah, yeah, one last person's talking. Brice: football.
