- 0:02Speaker 1: the day. Good day, Yeah, good day.
- 0:07Speaker 2: In closing today, I want to talk about something I
- 0:12Speaker 2: want to impress upon people, the importance of faith. But
- 0:20Speaker 2: I wanted to talk to everybody out there about the
- 0:24Speaker 2: significance and the importance of faith. Look, we live in
- 0:29Speaker 2: such a world today that it is almost not cool
- 0:32Speaker 2: to talk about your faith because of IG and Facebook
- 0:37Speaker 2: and you know all these social media this everybody works
- 0:41Speaker 2: for likes and approval and comments and followers and all
- 0:46Speaker 2: of this, and nobody really talks about how cool it
- 0:51Speaker 2: is to be a person of faith. But it really
- 0:56Speaker 2: really is man And because it gives you a place
- 1:01Speaker 2: of protection when you have faith, it gives you a
- 1:05Speaker 2: place to go when you need direction. It just gives
- 1:11Speaker 2: you an edge I found. Well, Steve, what do you
- 1:14Speaker 2: mean by edge? Well, it's very simple. I can use
- 1:18Speaker 2: myself as the best example. People who have followed me
- 1:23Speaker 2: on the radio show for any number of years. I've
- 1:25Speaker 2: had radio fans for over twenty one years have followed
- 1:29Speaker 2: me everywhere I've gone on the radio. Shirley and Tommy
- 1:32Speaker 2: and Carla and Junior and all of us, you know,
- 1:34Speaker 2: followed us for years at one point in time. You've
- 1:38Speaker 2: seen my missteps get played out publicly. You've seen some
- 1:49Speaker 2: mistakes I've made get played out publicly. You've seen me
- 1:54Speaker 2: had to stand in the face of fire publicly. I
- 2:00Speaker 2: don't think there's a person that has followed my career
- 2:02Speaker 2: has not seen me face public scrutiny and all of
- 2:09Speaker 2: these things that I've had to face.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I want to tell you something.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I was able to get through it because I didn't
- 2:17Speaker 2: face any of it alone. I happen to be a
- 2:21Speaker 2: person of faith. I happen to be a child of God,
- 2:25Speaker 2: and so are you. And the fact that I'm willing
- 2:29Speaker 2: to acknowledge that gives me a certain amount of strength
- 2:32Speaker 2: that some people can't seem to muster because they seem
- 2:36Speaker 2: to be in this thing all by themselves. But if
- 2:40Speaker 2: you're a person of faith, you're not in it by yourself.
- 2:43Speaker 2: See the attacks that I've been under. You didn't just
- 2:46Speaker 2: attack me. You attack a child of God. I'm one
- 2:50Speaker 2: of his children, and I'm here to tell you that
- 2:53Speaker 2: you are too, that you can reside under the protection
- 2:57Speaker 2: of His wings, that you don't have to stand out
- 2:59Speaker 2: there and feel like it's just you and you all
- 3:01Speaker 2: alone by yourself because you not. He promised to be
- 3:05Speaker 2: with you in the worst of times, in the best
- 3:09Speaker 2: of times, when you can call on nobody else, you
- 3:12Speaker 2: can call on your faith.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I've done it time and time again. I'm a living
- 3:18Speaker 1: witness to.
- 3:18Speaker 2: The fact that God is ever present, that I don't
- 3:22Speaker 2: care what you get yourself into. You ain't gotten yourself
- 3:25Speaker 2: into nothing. God can't get you out of it. I
- 3:28Speaker 2: don't care what it is you going through. You ain't
- 3:30Speaker 2: going through nothing that God don't have the ability to.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Pull you through. Steve Harvey is a living witness to that.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I'm just talking to you about faith, man, so you
- 3:40Speaker 2: can get back to being cool with being a person
- 3:43Speaker 2: of faith. Don't worry about what them they say or say.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Don't worry about what them haters say. They have no
- 3:48Speaker 2: say so in your life unless you give it to them.
- 3:51Speaker 1: And I don't.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I don't give the Internet no power over me. I
- 3:56Speaker 2: don't give social media no power over me. You can
- 3:59Speaker 2: take this wipe at me if you want to. I'm
- 4:01Speaker 2: not going to respond. I have learned to be still
- 4:08Speaker 2: to let Him do the battle for me. That's hard
- 4:12Speaker 2: sometimes because you know you can correct it with this remark,
- 4:17Speaker 2: or with that remark, or you could think that you
- 4:19Speaker 2: could put something out there. But let me tell you something,
- 4:21Speaker 2: when you respond to these people, you're not doing yourself
- 4:25Speaker 2: any good. When you respond to these people. You know
- 4:27Speaker 2: why because for people who love you, no explanation necessary,
- 4:31Speaker 2: but for people who hate you, no explanation acceptable. I
- 4:36Speaker 2: don't care what you say to a hater. If they've
- 4:39Speaker 2: made up in their mind to hate, there's nothing you
- 4:41Speaker 2: could do. But can I tell you something, it's nothing
- 4:44Speaker 2: they can do either. They can't do nothing to you
- 4:48Speaker 2: that God don't allow to happen. And if God allows
- 4:52Speaker 2: some of this to get through, it's only to strengthen you.
- 4:56Speaker 2: And sometimes God allows things to happen to people like
- 4:59Speaker 2: you and me because he's got a lesson to teach
- 5:02Speaker 2: them other people.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Because see, sometimes.
- 5:05Speaker 2: God allows the stuff to happen to you because you
- 5:06Speaker 2: know you strong enough to take it, and the lesson
- 5:09Speaker 2: sometimes ain't for you.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Sometimes he's trying to show your enemy something.
- 5:14Speaker 2: I can't count the time he's prepared a table in
- 5:17Speaker 2: front of my enemies. I can't count them. I can't
- 5:21Speaker 2: count the times when I know people have laughed behind
- 5:23Speaker 2: my back. I can't count the times that my faith
- 5:28Speaker 2: has gotten me through. You have this same God available
- 5:32Speaker 2: to you, and I know you do, and I know
- 5:34Speaker 2: you know it, but you got to get back to
- 5:37Speaker 2: being a person of faith.
- 5:39Speaker 1: That's cool with it. Having faith is cool. It's really
- 5:43Speaker 1: really cool.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I got no problem telling people that's how I got
- 5:47Speaker 2: to where I am. I ain't got no problem tell
- 5:49Speaker 2: I have no other explanation for you anyway. How I've
- 5:52Speaker 2: gotten through every misstep, every mistake, every public piece of
- 5:58Speaker 2: scrutiny is because I have a.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Faith in God.
- 6:02Speaker 2: That it's just it's powerful man, and it gets me
- 6:07Speaker 2: through everything that I need to get through. And He's
- 6:09Speaker 2: pulled me through everything I've needed to get pulled through.
- 6:12Speaker 2: He'll do the same thing for you. Being a person
- 6:15Speaker 2: of faith is cool. Don't ever stop being that, okay,
- 6:18Speaker 2: because God is good?
