- 0:48the website is the Gunwriter dot substack dot com. Lee, Good morning,
- 0:53Welcome, how are you, oh man, It's great to be here.
- 0:57I am very happy it's Friday. It's been a hard couple of weeks for
- 1:00our Second Amendment supporters. Yeah, I want to get into some of that,
- 1:03but let's work backwards and let's talk a little bit about the debate the
- 1:08other night. As you look at the group that's currently you know, under
- 1:14consideration for the GOP nomination, who stands out as somebody that is proven or
- 1:21we believe to be ardent strong Second Amendment supporters. Good question. I would
- 1:27start with the guy who probably won't be on stage very long when we're North
- 1:33Dakota Governor Doug Bergham. As far as the Second Amendment is concerned, he's
- 1:37a superstar. Signed North Dakota as a Second Amendment sanctuary, got standard ground,
- 1:45protected North Dakotan's access to firearms and businesses the expanded constitutional terry. He
- 1:51prohibited state agencies from enforcing federal gun laws if they infringe on the Second Amendment.
- 1:57I mean the guy is solid. I would say he would be followed
- 2:00by your choice here, either Mike Pence or Ron de Sanis. We all
- 2:06know Ron's history with the Second Memit. He signed our unlicensed carry bill.
- 2:12Mike Pence is a solid rating from NRA as VP governor of Indiana and then
- 2:16as a former congressman. The people who don't well Divette. You know,
- 2:23we don't know anything about never held public office before, talks a good game
- 2:28about guns, but you know a lot of politicians have done that. Nicky
- 2:30Haley, she got back into guns this year. She hasn't done anything pro
- 2:36gun since twenty ten. And then we get to the bottom of the list.
- 2:39Asa Hutchinson veto the bill that would have prohibited local law enforcement from enforcing
- 2:45federal gun laws. Tim Scott joined with Cornin, Murphy and Blumenthal to co
- 2:53sponsor a bipartisan gun background check bill. And Chris Christie has no business being
- 3:00up there. He banned fifty caliber weapons, He's endorsed a series of other
- 3:05gun reforms. So I hope that answers your question when you say it's been
- 3:09a rough couple of weeks since we last visited a month ago. Detail that
- 3:14for us, quantify it. Oh gosh, ats is unrelenting in their war
- 3:22and our gun dealers. Remember we talked about the Russell Fincher, a small
- 3:27tabletop kitchen table gun dealer in Oklahoma. ATF sent the SWAT team to his
- 3:31home, arrested him, basically put handcuffs on him on his porch in front
- 3:36of his thirteen year old kid. They seized, never charged him with the
- 3:39damn thing. He voluntarily surrendered his license, you know, obviously he was
- 3:44coerced into doing that. Scared out of his ever loved mind. They took
- 3:49fifty of his guns, including a beautiful Chinese a king that was new inbox
- 3:53probably worth four to five thousand dollars. He just got a forfeit letter from
- 3:57them. They're going to give him ten dollars per fire off. You've got
- 4:01to be kidding me. I wish I was. That's the way they operate.
- 4:05I guarantee you that AKA is in some atf agents personal safe at home.
- 4:13Yeah, that's the way they operate. Fifty sixty grand worth of worth
- 4:16the guns easy, and they're going to give them ten dollars a gun.
- 4:21We'll pick that, or you can contest it and risk these federal, nebulous,
- 4:26federal charges that they never fully detailed for this guy. It's become a
- 4:30criminal organization. If I break into your house with armed fellas and take all
- 4:35your guns. I mean, that's armed burglary. My friend the Morning Show
- 4:41Preston Scott eleven minutes past the hour, caught up on what's going on weather
- 4:48in traffic wise in your area. Lee Williams with us the gun writer on
- 4:54the Morning Show. Lee, what is the likelihood that this guy decides to
- 4:59go ahead and fight back? I mean, this is this is a popeye
- 5:01moment, not just for him, but for thousands of gun dealers across the
- 5:05country. Isn't I wish. I mean he voluntarily and that's in finger quotes.
- 5:12Brother surrendered his FFL. They tried the same tactic with a guy down
- 5:16in Texas, a gun dealer in Texas who is outside of Dallas, and
- 5:20he's fighting him. You know he's But the thing is, the deck is
- 5:24stacked against these guys. The guy down in Texas, he got a revocation
- 5:28letter signed by a female inspector there. When he appeals it, he will
- 5:33go in front of the same woman that signed his revocation letter. She will
- 5:38run the administrative hearing ATF stack in the deck. The good news is the
- 5:43mainstream media finally is starting to pick up on some of their shenanigans. One
- 5:47week and Go. Today, Wall Street Journal published a pretty small story letting
- 5:55people know that hundreds of gun dealers are losing their license under the Biden Harris
- 5:59cracked Thoughts to do Is posted a story a couple hours later. That's great,
- 6:04but they kind of got hoodwinked ATF is really good at hoodwinking journalists,
- 6:10and that's what happened here. If you look at the statement that they kicked
- 6:14out the Fox and Wall Street Journal because you can't get an interview with ATF.
- 6:17They don't answer the phone, they don't respond to emails, maybe kick
- 6:21out a statement. They started their statement by saying, FFLs our first line
- 6:26of defense against gun crime, which is all true, very true. Actually.
- 6:30However, then they said FFLs that willfully violate the law must be held
- 6:34accountable. Well, about two years ago, Preston, we wrote a story
- 6:40on how ATF had redefined the word willful. Now, willful can also include
- 6:47some minor clerical error paperwork mistakes, because the ATF believes you've been briefed on
- 6:53what the rules are, so if you make a clerical error, you have
- 6:56wilfully broken the rules. They've turned negligence into wilfulness. That's how they're hoodwiking
- 7:02folks. Plus, they never mentioned the number of atls. If they're scaring
- 7:08the hell out of so they voluntarily, again in finger quotes, surrender their
- 7:13FFLs. It's getting a handle on the ATF is difficult because it's a criminal
- 7:18organization. I keep saying that everybody's talking about defunding FBI, getting rid of
- 7:24the FBI director. ATF is far worse. In my humble opinion, it
- 7:29sounds like the redefinition of willful was done by the same people that redefined for
- 7:33the FDA vaccine. But that's a subject for another day. Okay, So,
- 7:39at what point do we get close to having enough bullying that you have
- 7:45a really big class action lawsuit against the ATF and some serious pushback. We
- 7:51both know Lee that illiberals will do what they want until a court high enough
- 7:56says no right. ATF is getting spanked regularly by the courts. They got
- 8:03it on bump stocks, They're they're going on a pistol braces, They're going
- 8:07to get it on aftermarket triggers. It's the same pattern. You know.
- 8:09They want to be judge, jury, and executioner. They want to write
- 8:13a rule and then enforce the rule, even though their rules, by the
- 8:18way, carry the full weight of law. You go to prison and get
- 8:20fine, even though Congress kind of has the responsibility about writing laws. So
- 8:26yeah, I think I'd love to see class actions come having been involved in
- 8:33them. They are just a bugger to organize and get going. I think
- 8:35we're going to have to put up with ATF until Joe Biden gets booted out
- 8:39of sixteen hundred Pennsylvania Avenue. That's going to be the quickest way and then
- 8:45we can get this agency back under control. Why are they so bad?
- 8:48I know you're going to ask, because they've never had They've never valued or
- 8:54respected the sanctity of human life. Look at their history. Waco, Ruby
- 8:58Ridge, fast and furious, letting all those guns going to Mexico, which
- 9:03are still killing Mexican nationals today. Twenty one minutes after the hour, Lee
- 9:13Williams, the gunwriter, the gunwriter dot substack dot com. I was just
- 9:18telling Lee in the break, we are so fortunate that over the years we
- 9:22have been blessed to have favor with people like Lee that are willing to give
- 9:28their time and spend time with us to illuminate issues and things that are vital.
- 9:35And this is one of those. I keep telling you people. All
- 9:37the other amendments in the Constitution hinge on the second without the second, the
- 9:41rest are gone. And Lee, we were talking about, ironically, Chris
- 9:46Christie being just Chris Christie and New Jersey finding itself now in the focus of
- 9:54an absurdity. Tell us about this John Wick qualification test. What the heck
- 10:00is this? Well, you know, after the Supreme Court passed Bruin,
- 10:03which said that you have a right to carry defensive handgun in public. A
- 10:05lot of Blue states, especially New Jersey, started quickly passing a number of
- 10:09unconstitutional post bruin tantrum laws, as I call them. And the number one
- 10:16stupidest thing I've seen is their new test that you have to pass if you
- 10:20want to exercise your constitutional right in New Jersey. That's right, they're testing
- 10:26constitutional right which is unconstitutional on its face. So they're Superintendent of State Police
- 10:33and their AG dug out this test, this qualification course, fifty round qualification
- 10:37course, and brother it is from. It is a nineteen ninety circa police
- 10:43qualification test. The reason I know that is I was a police officer in
- 10:46the nineties and this is vintage training that requires you if you want to carry
- 10:52it gun in New Jersey and exercise your constitutional right, you have to shoot
- 10:56at twenty five yards, which in New Jersey we both know you shoot somebody
- 11:01at twenty foot of yards, you're gonna be charged with murder. You have
- 11:03to shoot it off from an open carry holster, even though civilians can't carry
- 11:09openly in New Jersey, only police can. You have to shoot from a
- 11:11kneeling position. You have to shoot off hand, you have to use what
- 11:18they called the point shoulder shooting stands. And I do another radio show with
- 11:24my buddy Bob Keller, who was a veteran of Delta course and probably the
- 11:28best instructor out there right now training civilians. He's got a range in Fort
- 11:31Mead, Florida. He didn't even know a point point shoulder was because it's
- 11:37that old. And Bob's literally been in four hundred gunfights and trained thousands of
- 11:43civilians and swat teams had never heard of point shoulder. I had to explain
- 11:48it to him on the radio. And this thing is crazy and only in
- 11:52New Jersey. Now, yes, we're probably going to see New Jersey getting
- 11:58sued over this because last time they started testing constitutional rights were the literacy tests
- 12:05in the South and the forties and fifties where they were trying to discourage folks
- 12:09of color from voting. But that doesn't matter in the people's Republic of New
- 12:13Jersey. I'd like to thank all the folks that's in New Jersey who sent
- 12:20me copies of this thing. But it is absolutely hilarious. Kneeling go to
- 12:24a range, go to an indoor range right now, telling me you want
- 12:26to practice from a kneeling position. I've only known one indoor range that would
- 12:30allow that, and they stopped it after one of their customers put the target
- 12:33too close and then quired five rounds right into their ceiling. So yeah,
- 12:39the big thing is you can't require folks to kneel because of the Americans with
- 12:46Disability Act. They're violating the ADA and they should. They're being and I
- 12:50loved using this word when I speak about New Jersey. They're being very ablest
- 12:56prest in their requirements. I mean, if you have a mobility issue,
- 13:01you know, I don't like shooting from my kney. I don't even train
- 13:03shooting for my knees because it's silly. If you know how to shoot,
- 13:07you know how to do a ready up jail, you get your site to
- 13:09aligned and everything, you shouldn't have to worry about shooting from crazy positions because
- 13:13you know how to shoot. But yeah, in New Jersey, they're going
- 13:16to be testing you from point shoulder. It's just it's absolutely hilarious. It
- 13:20would be a lot funnier if it wasn't so serious, because you've got to
- 13:22pass this thing in order to exercise your constitutional right. But this just buttresses
- 13:28the point we were talking about. Not only are all of these little sub
- 13:31factors, these subcategories of training, many of them, like you mentioned,
- 13:35the kneeling against the Constitution, against the law, against any number of other
- 13:41things. But this gets back to that same issue. They will do what
- 13:45they darn well please until they're stopped by a court. Yeah, and this
- 13:50one, I work at a Second Amendment Foundations. It's, in my humble
- 13:54opinion, it's the best organization out there. We have fifty three active lawsuits
- 13:58right now in this country trying to restore our Second Amendment rights here and there.
- 14:03If we don't sue New Jersey over this, when I'm sure gun owners
- 14:07of America and are a New Jersey organizations will be stepping up to sue them
- 14:11too, because this is clearly and patently unconstitutional. I assume they'll be bringing
- 14:16back the literacy test next. That's that crazy. What would you say to
- 14:22people listening right now, Lee that you know obviously a majority of people listening
- 14:26are Floridians, South Georgians that are listening to the program right now. What
- 14:31kind of vigilance do we need to maintain? What should we be looking for?
- 14:35We need constant vigilance because it only takes a couple of lawmakers to sneak
- 14:41some crap in. I feel very happy here in Florida with our constitutional rights.
- 14:46I would love to see open carry added. I'm also on the board
- 14:48of Florida Carry. We and the other program organizations in the state will be
- 14:52battling hard to get open carry because it's you know, it's part of keeping
- 14:58their arms. It's part of the second can amend it. But for the
- 15:01folks in New Jersey, I will just say this, John has a long
- 15:05mustache. Okay, we'll watch a couple of movies. You'll figure that out.
- 15:09They're so far behind the curve there, I don't even know what to
- 15:13say to him. I mean, my heart goes out to those poor folks
- 15:16up there, especially when you look at crime and some of the major cities
- 15:18in New Jersey. Right, all right, Lee, As always, we
- 15:24run out of time before we run out of topics. But thanks so much
- 15:26for what you do. Keep writing and we'll keep reading and we'll talk again
- 15:30next month. Thank you so much. Congrat on your five thousand show coming
- 15:35up. I will be listening, sir, Thank you very much. Lee
- 15:37Williams with us the gunwriter dot substack dot com, subscribe, do it now,
- 15:46don't wait, you'll forget twenty seven past the hour. In the morning
