- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to Conspiracy The Show with your hosts Adam Todd
- 0:15Speaker 1: Brown and Conye mcspadin.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Right, hey, everybody, welcome to Conspiracy The Show.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I'm Adam Todd Brown.
- 0:28Speaker 2: I'm Connor mc sped and we're your co host.
- 0:31Speaker 1: God damn it. Who killed Tupac?
- 0:33Speaker 2: We're getting to the bottom of it, man.
- 0:35Speaker 1: We're gonna find out today. I mean we're not.
- 0:37Speaker 2: No, for sure it's a rap murder. No one's ever
- 0:40Speaker 2: gonna find out who did it for sure.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:43Speaker 2: It is like has there ever been a solved rap murder? No,
- 0:47Speaker 2: we didn't have Big L. No, we don't know who
- 0:50Speaker 2: killed Big L. You know. And the thing about it
- 0:52Speaker 2: with a lot of those including Big L, people know
- 0:55Speaker 2: like jam Master Jay got shot in front of five people. Yeah,
- 1:00Speaker 2: allegedly by someone that they all know, and they just
- 1:03Speaker 2: they just kept quiet and that Like one guy was like, oh,
- 1:06Speaker 2: I was looking down at my phone when the person
- 1:08Speaker 2: walked in. I don't know who it was.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Oh, this was like two thousand and four. What were
- 1:11Speaker 3: you doing on your phone? Playing snake asshole?
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:14Speaker 3: I forget that because jam Aster J did the coolest
- 1:16Speaker 3: shit with fifty cent where he was like you have
- 1:18Speaker 3: to write ten hooks before you can write your verse.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Rappers love writing verses, but they hate writing hooks. So
- 1:23Speaker 3: he basically made him go through like hook boot camp.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Oh that's smart.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's pretty smart. Well, and Tupac got shot
- 1:29Speaker 2: in Vegas after a Mike Tyson fight.
- 1:32Speaker 3: That's like an old Chappelle bit. I think it's like
- 1:33Speaker 3: more people saw Tupac get shot than saw the fucking
- 1:35Speaker 3: moon Land Big or something like that.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, Tupac and Notorious Big. I think I think
- 1:40Speaker 2: they got killed here in La Yeah. And it's it's
- 1:44Speaker 2: such a fucked up night that Biggie got killed because
- 1:46Speaker 2: he he's at this party for life after Death and
- 1:49Speaker 2: like you know, he gets to hear everyone react to
- 1:52Speaker 2: hearing hypnotize in public for the first time. He's on
- 1:54Speaker 2: top of the world, and then.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Just bat boom over.
- 1:57Speaker 3: I think the only one we know for sure is
- 1:59Speaker 3: Big Punisher and heart disease. The Big Punter should get shot.
- 2:03Speaker 3: I was never a huge Big pun fan. I know
- 2:04Speaker 3: he's like amazing, I just never took the time to
- 2:06Speaker 3: get into it. But was he like a cancer guy
- 2:09Speaker 3: or a fucking murder guy.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Oh, I'm pretty sure that was just like a heart.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I think he had a heart attack. Yeah that guy.
- 2:15Speaker 2: That guy was like straight up fucking enormous. Yeah. And
- 2:18Speaker 2: then if you there's all these articles in that well,
- 2:21Speaker 2: his son a couple weeks ago wrote an article about
- 2:24Speaker 2: how shitty of a dad like he was just a crazy,
- 2:27Speaker 2: abusive fire Oh.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Really yeah, Oh well now that gives me a good
- 2:31Speaker 3: excuse to not have to listen to Capital Punishment. Yeah
- 2:33Speaker 3: I've never heard it, yeah, because I know I would
- 2:36Speaker 3: like it, and I'll hear people like quote big pun
- 2:38Speaker 3: lines or whatever. Yeah, you know who was But big
- 2:41Speaker 3: L fucking sucks because I just love Big L was
- 2:44Speaker 3: just evil.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:45Speaker 2: The first single was called Devil's Son, and he was
- 2:47Speaker 2: just super slick and just zero fucking nothing about like,
- 2:52Speaker 2: oh but I want to have a family and take
- 2:54Speaker 2: care of my mom.
- 2:54Speaker 3: He's just like I like killing people, selling drugs and
- 2:58Speaker 3: being the best at rapping. Yeah, dude, fucking rappers like
- 3:02Speaker 3: famous rappers. Sons is such a funny sub section of
- 3:05Speaker 3: like popular cull like Odb's Son was like going out
- 3:09Speaker 3: and doing like Brooklyn Zoo before the Wu Tang shows
- 3:12Speaker 3: and like a couple of years ago to like bring
- 3:13Speaker 3: the full kind of clan together and just so fucking
- 3:17Speaker 3: incredibly bad. Oh really, I'll go key, I'll go check
- 3:20Speaker 3: and see what he's doing every once in a while
- 3:22Speaker 3: and just be like all right, yep, still bad. Yeah,
- 3:26Speaker 3: the Tupac one is. I mean, what's crazy about it
- 3:29Speaker 3: to me in terms of the fact that it's unsolved
- 3:32Speaker 3: is that Shue Knight was in the car. Yeah, so
- 3:35Speaker 3: he had to have seen something for sure. Yeah, well
- 3:37Speaker 3: that's the great thing. And Christalia had a bit about this.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I don't know if it's not a special or anything,
- 3:41Speaker 3: but he's just talking about how Tupac's last words were
- 3:44Speaker 3: fuck you when they asked him what who shot him?
- 3:47Speaker 3: And it's just like, dude, like what like what like
- 3:51Speaker 3: gangster way to go out? Yeah, it's just like, I
- 3:54Speaker 3: don't even want to cooperate with the cops in my own.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Murder unless it was like some Vietnamese dude who shot
- 4:01Speaker 2: him and fuck you was just his name. We're just Wow.
- 4:07Speaker 1: That was very good Tupac the justice he deserves.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Man.
- 4:10Speaker 3: I like to think that I live in like a
- 4:12Speaker 3: minority port web of racist joke prediction, but I had
- 4:15Speaker 3: that one fucking caught me off.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Bright dude. That was well done.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 4:19Speaker 3: That last picture of Tupac and Shug, like, how fuck
- 4:21Speaker 3: Shug just kind of looks like a black Homer Simpson
- 4:24Speaker 3: where he's just very he just like he's just bald.
- 4:27Speaker 3: He just looks completely over everything, which I gotta imagine
- 4:29Speaker 3: is this fucking natural arresting expression. But still, yeah, that's
- 4:32Speaker 3: a good that one is fucking you know. The guy
- 4:34Speaker 3: who took that was like, I'm gonna sew somebody swap
- 4:36Speaker 3: me t shirts of this in twenty years.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Oh, Joe Dosh.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Once called Suge Knight the black Snidly Whiplash, which I
- 4:44Speaker 3: think is one of the funniest things I've ever heard
- 4:47Speaker 3: in my life.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I have a whole bit about Suge Knight. It's
- 4:50Speaker 2: like a fucking five minute bit, but it's more of
- 4:53Speaker 2: a piece. It's like a whole treatise on the nature
- 4:56Speaker 2: of the man. Yeah, Suge Knight, he's because he's unkillable,
- 4:59Speaker 2: like he really, Yeah, you're not gonna shoot shuog Knight
- 5:02Speaker 2: to death with bullets.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Like what Keith Richards has for drugs, sug Knight has
- 5:06Speaker 3: for gun violence, right right, It's just he's going there's
- 5:09Speaker 3: something in his jeans where it's just like nah, man, Yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 2: There's one incident where he either got shot or stabbed
- 5:15Speaker 2: and just got up and walked himself to the hospital.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's like that's like some teddy Roosevelt giving
- 5:20Speaker 3: a speech shit exactly, you know.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Like stop wasting your bullets.
- 5:23Speaker 3: And the hospital was like, oh, mister Knight, how are you, hey, Gina,
- 5:27Speaker 3: how are the kids you know.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Here mister Knight's room. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's the usual.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Uh dude, Suge Knight's Twitter, go go on a deep
- 5:35Speaker 3: dive on that. My roommate Ramsey was doing a bit
- 5:38Speaker 3: on Twitter, oh yeah, where every day he would just
- 5:40Speaker 3: go retweet an old Sugar Knight retweet and it's funny
- 5:43Speaker 3: because she's like such the he's this iconic pop culture character.
- 5:45Speaker 3: But it's like they've got like twenty five retweets, eighty
- 5:48Speaker 3: four favorites.
- 5:48Speaker 2: They're not like huge, like they're not like blowing up.
- 5:51Speaker 2: But one of them was just like, yeah, it's time
- 5:53Speaker 2: for the night life, but night was spelled k n
- 5:55Speaker 2: i ghd. It's just corny ass shit like that. It's
- 5:59Speaker 2: so funny.
- 6:00Speaker 1: That's so great. Yeah, just now time for the nightlife, Sugar.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Yeah, well, it's not. This was like he went back
- 6:05Speaker 2: to like twenty twelve and was just like time for
- 6:08Speaker 2: the night Knife.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Vanessa met shug Knight once and did not know.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Who it was. Oh god, that's the fucking worst.
- 6:15Speaker 1: She showed me the picture and was like, is this
- 6:17Speaker 1: Rick Ross?
- 6:19Speaker 2: I was like, no, Vanessa is racist. Yeah, like you
- 6:22Speaker 2: took a picture with sug Knight you almost died. Yeah,
- 6:26Speaker 2: no that You're gonna look at that picture and you'll
- 6:28Speaker 2: be slowly fading out of it on some back to
- 6:30Speaker 2: the future shit.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:32Speaker 2: They uh like that's like.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Pat Hausill had this great story about his brother Matt,
- 6:36Speaker 3: like like working at like Jimmy Killer or something, and
- 6:38Speaker 3: Elvis Costella is doing his sound check, just an acoustic
- 6:40Speaker 3: sound check, and Pad's biggest Elvis costellis son.
- 6:42Speaker 2: He's like, oh my god, what songs did he play?
- 6:44Speaker 1: You know? Did he did you like Welcome.
- 6:46Speaker 2: To the Working Weekend? He was like no, no, no, it
- 6:47Speaker 2: wasn't metal or whatever. And he's just like, you asshole,
- 6:50Speaker 2: if you would have met sug Knight, like you wouldn't
- 6:52Speaker 2: have you would have not have bathed since you know
- 6:54Speaker 2: you would have Yeah, yeah, you gotta ask some questions
- 6:57Speaker 2: would have had your outfit like the put behind glass
- 7:00Speaker 2: framed in the studio, move over iron Gianne we Gotta
- 7:03Speaker 2: and she met him somewhere crazy like Fullerton. I think, oh,
- 7:06Speaker 2: no shit, Yeah, what the fuck is sug Knight doing
- 7:09Speaker 2: partying in Fullerton?
- 7:11Speaker 1: No idea.
- 7:11Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, I just want to hit on the
- 7:13Speaker 3: nineteen year old girls that go to commuter schools and
- 7:15Speaker 3: eat it panera bread.
- 7:18Speaker 2: So let's talk about the official explanation as to how,
- 7:23Speaker 2: how and why Tupac was killed, which it makes sense.
- 7:27Speaker 2: The official story that finally came out, they think is
- 7:32Speaker 2: that Orlando. So in a way, this is kind of
- 7:35Speaker 2: technically a solved rap murder because the police at one
- 7:39Speaker 2: point came out and said Orlando Anderson murdered him in
- 7:43Speaker 2: retaliation for Tupac and sug Night beating the shit out
- 7:46Speaker 2: of Orlando Anderson. Yeah, in the lobby and the MGM. Yeah,
- 7:51Speaker 2: and that makes sense, like that, I love walking through
- 7:54Speaker 2: the MGM and just like thinking about that. I know,
- 7:57Speaker 2: it's like that just that walk to had Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 8:01Speaker 2: and that's like a long ass hallway and he's just like, yeah,
- 8:04Speaker 2: what of it?
- 8:05Speaker 1: Yeah, we just beat the shit out of somebody.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Wasn't Tupac's last creative act that promo song for the
- 8:11Speaker 2: Tyson Fight?
- 8:13Speaker 1: I don't remember.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Wasn't that his like walking on thin Ice or whatever?
- 8:17Speaker 3: The Jen Lennon did you know? What's the fucking tragic
- 8:20Speaker 3: thing about that is that Leoko album Yo go On
- 8:22Speaker 3: album has one of the sickest album covers. It's literally
- 8:25Speaker 3: his blood stained glasses from when he was murdered next
- 8:27Speaker 3: to a glass of half full water in Central Park,
- 8:29Speaker 3: New York. And I'm like, Wow, what a great idea
- 8:31Speaker 3: for an album cover. That's deep as hell, And then
- 8:33Speaker 3: you try to listen to it and you're like.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Good god, yeah, yeah, it's a It's is that the
- 8:37Speaker 2: album that came out right after he died? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Walking on Thin Ice is a great song that is
- 8:43Speaker 2: other people sing it. Yeah, Yeah, it's well written. Yeah.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Elvis Costello has a cover of Walking on Thin Ice,
- 8:49Speaker 2: bringing it back around. Yeah.
- 8:51Speaker 3: The connections are everywhere, man, I think he had something
- 8:53Speaker 3: to do with it.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't think we'd get to.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Elvis Costello references into it in the two Pac episode
- 8:58Speaker 2: into a Tupac Mer episode.
- 9:00Speaker 4: That's just how white we are, ladies, and gentlemen, the whitest.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Next I'm gonna start talking about power Pop. And
- 9:07Speaker 2: then Peter Case was there, and so yeah, that the
- 9:12Speaker 2: Orlando Anderson explanation, it makes sense.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Yeah, like it that's and they had like rival gang
- 9:17Speaker 3: ties and all that ship.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Yeah he was Orlando Anderson was a Cryp. Tupac was
- 9:21Speaker 2: a blood apparently.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Well yeah, he's what's what's the I don't know how
- 9:25Speaker 3: to pronounce that other gang that he was kind of
- 9:26Speaker 3: affiliate Tupac's other like or like, was.
- 9:28Speaker 2: That just like a sect of the Cryps? Uh?
- 9:31Speaker 1: Was it Piru? Yeah?
- 9:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah yeah, they're a sect of Bloods. Okay Iah, Interesting,
- 9:40Speaker 2: I feel comfortable talking about this. We're in La Yeah
- 9:43Speaker 2: for sure, that's where are we going to run into
- 9:45Speaker 2: some gang members? Yeah?
- 9:46Speaker 3: It's I live in an amazing neighborhood, you.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Know, right, Adam has been.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Yeah, we're like literally the the mission statement of my
- 9:54Speaker 3: local game is keep the property value low so that
- 9:57Speaker 3: they don't build more apartment complexes and gentrif and I'm like,
- 10:00Speaker 3: you know what, you guys are straight up robinhood type
- 10:02Speaker 3: characters all about it.
- 10:04Speaker 1: That's that's very charitable. I'm way into that.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Yeah, well too.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Yeah, so like this this is like it, but it's
- 10:10Speaker 3: just it's too kind of neat to be the case.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Yeah, And it seems like if that was really the case,
- 10:16Speaker 2: if they're because Orlando Anderson died, but he didn't die
- 10:19Speaker 2: for another year after Tupac, and if it was that obvious,
- 10:23Speaker 2: it seems like they would have had some sort of
- 10:26Speaker 2: corroborating evidence. You're, yeah, even like a Jack Ruby character
- 10:30Speaker 2: to kind of just get him right off the fucking board. Yeah,
- 10:33Speaker 2: which Black Ruby, if you will, Black Ruby. Yeah, they
- 10:42Speaker 2: so the the Orlando Anderson thing, he I mean, he's
- 10:45Speaker 2: dead now, so we can't That's that's kind of the
- 10:47Speaker 2: story where I think we're always gonna get is that
- 10:50Speaker 2: he did it. But there's there's also the theory that
- 10:54Speaker 2: maybe Shook Knight had him killed.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Yeah, And this one makes kind of like it's not
- 10:58Speaker 3: the most then up there for me because it's a
- 11:00Speaker 3: similar situation to.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Think I'm Puffy might have hand a hand in.
- 11:03Speaker 3: The Biggie shit because it's just like you he was
- 11:06Speaker 3: just like Tupac is an icon and he's going out
- 11:08Speaker 3: at the top of his game. He just put out,
- 11:10Speaker 3: you know, Calluminati and it's just like all right, well
- 11:13Speaker 3: he can leave me, he can get the fucking he
- 11:15Speaker 3: can sue for the rights to the records back, he
- 11:17Speaker 3: can start his own company and get the or just
- 11:20Speaker 3: Golden Goose forever.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Yeah, he's gonna keep on laying eggs. He's selling t shirts,
- 11:24Speaker 2: he's fucking they're licensing his songs and movies all that shit. Yeah,
- 11:27Speaker 2: he had all this unreally shit and he just you know,
- 11:29Speaker 2: kept that in his Meanwhile, let the Legion of Doom
- 11:32Speaker 2: go down there and like open up big like Beta
- 11:34Speaker 2: Max tapes and like okay, Yeah, that's that's the thing
- 11:37Speaker 2: about Tupac that makes this one seem more likely. This
- 11:42Speaker 2: this a more likely scenario than Puffy having something to
- 11:45Speaker 2: do with Biggie, because Biggie didn't have that, he didn't
- 11:48Speaker 2: have that treasure trove of songs, whereas.
- 11:52Speaker 3: If you listen to the Pashuma's Biggie albums, you'll find
- 11:54Speaker 3: that is very true.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Yeah, he had like ten yeah.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Yeah, like there's Born and Born Again and the Dude
- 11:59Speaker 2: Dot shit and it's just like this all kind of blows.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not.
- 12:04Speaker 3: It's like the the goolest shit on there is like
- 12:06Speaker 3: the kind of unreleased stuff like or like the uh
- 12:08Speaker 3: the ship that got him into the unsigned hype. Yeah,
- 12:11Speaker 3: call like some of those like old like and it's
- 12:12Speaker 3: just like a nineteen year old Big just like you know,
- 12:15Speaker 3: like fucking Rhinoceros in on the mic and then everything else.
- 12:18Speaker 3: You're just kind of like, all right, well, yeah, I
- 12:20Speaker 3: could have stayed in the pile, like for sure.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Meanwhile, Tupac put out what fifty sixty albums after he died, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 12:27Speaker 2: Like well, and it's just it's I I've always been
- 12:30Speaker 2: more a fan of Big.
- 12:31Speaker 1: It's just like the quality is just higher with Biggie.
- 12:35Speaker 3: I think it just like yeah, maybe not like in
- 12:37Speaker 3: terms of like the greatest works compared, but in just
- 12:39Speaker 3: like in the the ratio, the hit ratio is pretty immaculate.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I think between the two, I've always preferred Biggie. Yeah,
- 12:47Speaker 2: and then Tupac just kind of got into some crazy shit,
- 12:49Speaker 2: you know, where Biggie was just like I just like
- 12:51Speaker 2: to fucking hang out, you know. Yeah, Tupac turned into
- 12:53Speaker 2: a real asshole there at the end. He did Yeah
- 12:56Speaker 2: and Too and Shuge Knight.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Like this is the kind of move where it's like
- 12:59Speaker 3: there's you know, if the car's getting shot up, sug
- 13:02Speaker 3: Knight's got like a thirty percent chance of dying. I
- 13:05Speaker 3: mean two bucks in the past side, so most of
- 13:07Speaker 3: the bullets are theoretically going to be absorbed by him.
- 13:09Speaker 3: But that's exactly the kind of gamble I'd expect sug
- 13:11Speaker 3: Knight to take.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the thing.
- 13:13Speaker 2: It seems risky, but it's also the kind of thing
- 13:15Speaker 2: that if it pays off, like yeah, it works, no
- 13:17Speaker 2: one's ever going to be like, oh, you did it.
- 13:19Speaker 3: It's basically an Ocean Eleven's fucking heist. It's like, yeah,
- 13:21Speaker 3: this is four knocks, but you know, if we do this,
- 13:24Speaker 3: we can just live in cancuon drinking margarita until we die.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Yeah, because he did.
- 13:29Speaker 2: As soon as the shooting happened, he fucking peeled out
- 13:31Speaker 2: and drove like three or four blocks away or something
- 13:34Speaker 2: like that and then crashed and because he just got
- 13:37Speaker 2: like grazed in the head or something. Yeah, but yeah,
- 13:40Speaker 2: I can see sug Knight doing that, Like.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it's that's a bull. This is a man who's
- 13:46Speaker 3: made a career off of bold moves.
- 13:48Speaker 2: I mean he went on fucking Jimmy Kimmel and kind
- 13:51Speaker 2: of implied that he killed an easy e with an
- 13:53Speaker 2: AIDS needle. He did, Yeah, which is a which is
- 13:56Speaker 2: a kind of a crazy thing to do. And if
- 14:00Speaker 2: I can just put it out there a weird venue
- 14:03Speaker 2: to do it, Jimmy can't, like, Yeah, that should be
- 14:06Speaker 2: on World Star or something.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Sure, it's not for the Middle America crowd, sug I think.
- 14:12Speaker 3: I think is it the ninety seven Source Awards where
- 14:14Speaker 3: everything popped the fuck off?
- 14:16Speaker 1: I think it's ninety five.
- 14:17Speaker 3: It might be ninety five. You might be read I
- 14:19Speaker 3: because yeah he was. He would have been dead by
- 14:20Speaker 3: then because I was when Life After Death came out.
- 14:22Speaker 3: But yeah, that is a fun watch all the way
- 14:24Speaker 3: through to just like fucking just I found that on
- 14:27Speaker 3: like Daily Motion or some shit, and it's just like,
- 14:29Speaker 3: oh dude, and sug Night going up and he's like,
- 14:31Speaker 3: if you don't want your producers talking all over your records,
- 14:34Speaker 3: And I'm like, I sug.
- 14:36Speaker 2: I'd being all up in your videos. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 14:39Speaker 2: come to death row.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:41Speaker 2: There I saw in someone's Twitter bio once it said
- 14:44Speaker 2: that they were working on a screenplay about the ninety
- 14:47Speaker 2: five Source Awards, And I don't know if it was
- 14:49Speaker 2: a joke or not, but I want someone to make
- 14:51Speaker 2: that movie, oh fucking for sure, because that's what started
- 14:54Speaker 2: the whole fucking East Coast West Coast thing. Oh totally.
- 14:58Speaker 2: That award show is when everyone I was like, oh,
- 15:01Speaker 2: these two coasts hate each other.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Yeah, and it was like and like some of it,
- 15:05Speaker 3: like I forget exactly what, but some of it was
- 15:07Speaker 3: just on a fucking misunderstanding with like a queue. I
- 15:10Speaker 3: think when Pauk was supposed to go out on stage
- 15:12Speaker 3: or Bigby was supposed to go out on stage and
- 15:13Speaker 3: they kind of fucked up.
- 15:14Speaker 2: The stage manager goofed and made it look like a
- 15:17Speaker 2: like a diss yeah, you know. And then at that one,
- 15:19Speaker 2: then then this poor dude with a clipboard is like,
- 15:21Speaker 2: oh shit started a gang war because I forgot my
- 15:25Speaker 2: cue sheet. Yeah, it's it's the kind of thing where
- 15:28Speaker 2: I just wish I was in the room when, Oh,
- 15:31Speaker 2: for sure, like give.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Me, give me ninety five Source Awards overseeing the Beatles
- 15:35Speaker 3: for any fucking day of the week.
- 15:38Speaker 1: The ninety five Source Awards are my Beatles.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Like, you guys didn't get good until Rubber Soul, you know,
- 15:43Speaker 3: Like I want to see fucking backup dancers like take
- 15:46Speaker 3: knives out of their hair.
- 15:49Speaker 1: So, yeah, the the Sug Night thing, I could see it,
- 15:52Speaker 1: and he.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Was there is talk or there was talk or rumors
- 15:57Speaker 2: that he was wanting to leave death Row wreck words,
- 16:00Speaker 2: yeah at the time, which would be understandable.
- 16:03Speaker 3: And it's also if you want to leave death Row records,
- 16:05Speaker 3: that's not a thing that you feel comfortable floating out there. Yeah,
- 16:08Speaker 3: you're not going to tell sug you're leaving you like
- 16:11Speaker 3: you could just be like, you know, I'm thinking about
- 16:12Speaker 3: twitching from connect pal to Patreon, and no one's gonna
- 16:15Speaker 3: shoot you in the face, you know. But if if
- 16:19Speaker 3: the you know, connect Pal is run by Shug Knight,
- 16:21Speaker 3: I'm keeping it on the.
- 16:22Speaker 1: DL, Yeah, then then then you're getting shot. Yeah.
- 16:25Speaker 2: There's also I found when I was researching this episode,
- 16:30Speaker 2: I found an article from nineteen ninety seven, so right after,
- 16:36Speaker 2: you know, a couple of years after Tupac died, and
- 16:38Speaker 2: it's called Tupac's Missing Millions, and it's on Entertainment Weekly
- 16:42Speaker 2: of course. Yeah, for sure, where else do you go
- 16:45Speaker 2: for hard hitting investigative journalism. And it's all about how
- 16:49Speaker 2: Tupac's mom noticed after he died that he was missing
- 16:53Speaker 2: millions and millions of dollars that should have been in
- 16:56Speaker 2: his account, and the thinking was that Sug Knight took
- 17:00Speaker 2: that money and that maybe Tupac found out about that. Yeah,
- 17:05Speaker 2: that that was the reason source of the friction, which
- 17:08Speaker 2: would make it weird that they were still hanging out
- 17:10Speaker 2: at a Mike Tyson fight. Yeah, well, this is well,
- 17:13Speaker 2: the whole relationship between PUC and Shug had to be
- 17:17Speaker 2: kind of a game of brinksmanship to a certain degree. Yeah,
- 17:20Speaker 2: you know where it's just like these are both like,
- 17:23Speaker 2: you know, streetwise negotiators, and it's like you don't really
- 17:26Speaker 2: want to be the guy that like show that you
- 17:28Speaker 2: know what's going on. You kind of maybe he's just
- 17:30Speaker 2: planning some big movies where he's just like, hey man,
- 17:32Speaker 2: I've fucking you know, you know, your your summons is
- 17:36Speaker 2: in the mailbox, and I'm like moving to Denver some shit.
- 17:39Speaker 2: You know what if he made that Machabelli album thinking
- 17:42Speaker 2: no one would really get what he was saying, because
- 17:46Speaker 2: it's it's pretty clear from that that he's making a
- 17:48Speaker 2: big change in his life at some point for sure. Yeah. Yeah,
- 17:50Speaker 2: and like was he just like Shug's too dumb to
- 17:53Speaker 2: figure this out and then like, I can slip this bio.
- 17:55Speaker 3: A day later, he's gonna hear me called doctor Drake
- 17:57Speaker 3: Gay and then giggle a lot and be distracted.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Been a day later, the entire nation knows everything Tupac's planning.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, and he's like, oh uh oh, that's bad.
- 18:07Speaker 3: The guy hurt m Bad I think is his name
- 18:10Speaker 3: or hurt me Bad followed me on Twitter, who produced
- 18:13Speaker 3: a lot of those fucking songs. Though some of those
- 18:15Speaker 3: beats are like bomb First and Hill Mary, like oh
- 18:18Speaker 3: that sh it is like I love that those ship and.
- 18:20Speaker 2: That was one of those guys.
- 18:22Speaker 3: There's like a guy that did the same fucking thing
- 18:24Speaker 3: on a on a Ready to Die that got fucked
- 18:26Speaker 3: out of a lot of like future work and uh,
- 18:29Speaker 3: he's all over the album. I forget his name, but
- 18:30Speaker 3: that was just because he had a disagreement with Puffy
- 18:32Speaker 3: and someone with HEARDing bad, I had a disagreement with
- 18:34Speaker 3: Sugar and they just like fun and the like.
- 18:36Speaker 2: These are some of the great iconic rap beats of
- 18:38Speaker 2: all Who what could these guys have done if he
- 18:40Speaker 2: was like I'll do a track for nas, you know,
- 18:42Speaker 2: But it's just he was didn't get to do anything
- 18:44Speaker 2: until like two thousand and five when Sugar had too
- 18:47Speaker 2: many other people trying to kill him. Yeah easy mob,
- 18:50Speaker 2: oh easy mob. Yeah yeah yeah, yeah, like that's great.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Look at the gimme the lude, machine gun funk Warning,
- 18:56Speaker 3: ready to Die Yeah, friend of Mine. Now that's the
- 18:59Speaker 3: worst song on the album still.
- 19:00Speaker 1: The what the what dope?
- 19:02Speaker 2: Yeah, the look at look at that run?
- 19:04Speaker 3: If that was all he ever did, he's got more
- 19:06Speaker 3: classics and most producers.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Yeah he's I know that name like from other rap stuff,
- 19:11Speaker 2: but I don't know precisely what.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Yeah, he just didn't get He just really got short shrift.
- 19:16Speaker 3: That's the whole thing about these big characters, you know.
- 19:18Speaker 3: And and like rap music, it's like, I mean, obviously
- 19:22Speaker 3: they make it kind of fun to watch and exciting,
- 19:24Speaker 3: but like how much do they hurt over help?
- 19:27Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's I've never understood the value in fucking
- 19:33Speaker 2: someone over to the point that you don't even acknowledge
- 19:35Speaker 2: that they helped with something. Yeah for sure, because to me,
- 19:39Speaker 2: finding and identifying talent is a talent in and of itself, certainly,
- 19:44Speaker 2: and for me, I think it's just as dope if
- 19:47Speaker 2: I if I you know, like I built this network
- 19:50Speaker 2: because I'm surrounded.
- 19:51Speaker 1: By a lot of talented people.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and it was really easy for me to say, Hey, Connor,
- 19:55Speaker 2: let's do a fucking conspiracy podcast because you're really funny
- 19:58Speaker 2: and you know conspiracy, yeah for sure, and like it
- 20:00Speaker 2: would be you know, there's something to be said for
- 20:03Speaker 2: that too, And why can't motherfuckers just go hey, yeah this,
- 20:06Speaker 2: Like I fucking knew this guy was well, yeah.
- 20:09Speaker 3: That shit takes in here like like like the doctor
- 20:11Speaker 3: dre hearing Eminem on the wake Up Show, you know,
- 20:13Speaker 3: do that only fair to war?
- 20:15Speaker 2: And I was born with a set of horns and
- 20:16Speaker 2: just be like, oh, okay, like weird, oddball outside the
- 20:19Speaker 2: box poll, but this guy is gonna be the biggest
- 20:21Speaker 2: thing in rab music for five years, you know, and
- 20:23Speaker 2: that's it. And then it's just like but he never
- 20:25Speaker 2: really imposed his fucking agenda on him. He just kind
- 20:29Speaker 2: of let him do what he wanted to do. And
- 20:31Speaker 2: you know, there's a while where he wasn't doing a
- 20:32Speaker 2: lot of songs on the records. They weren't hanging out,
- 20:34Speaker 2: you know, but it's like, yeah, it's fine, there's the fun.
- 20:35Speaker 2: You know, that's just not a fucking a creative partnership
- 20:37Speaker 2: fucking works. Yeah, and I like it, like you know,
- 20:39Speaker 2: in basketball, Like you know, I grew up as a
- 20:41Speaker 2: big Lakers fan. I'm not really anymore, but I kind
- 20:43Speaker 2: of like LeVar Ball. I just like the big personalities
- 20:46Speaker 2: stirred up shit. It kind of makes it all more
- 20:48Speaker 2: fun to watch or whatever. Yeah, there's like a point
- 20:50Speaker 2: at which it's like, Okay, you're just being You're just
- 20:53Speaker 2: fucking the stuff for everybody, And I'm kind of glad
- 20:55Speaker 2: it doesn't seem like rap music really has that today. Yeah, yeah,
- 20:59Speaker 2: just kind of nice. Yeah, it does seem to have
- 21:02Speaker 2: gotten better. Yeah, LaVar Ball, I've not been way on
- 21:06Speaker 2: board with him, but I do like that. I like
- 21:09Speaker 2: how he's handling the Trump thing. Oh yeah, it's just
- 21:12Speaker 2: like Trump, who I don't. I don't like Lonzo is
- 21:14Speaker 2: a pretty He's like, you know, he's a he's a
- 21:16Speaker 2: good player. I don't know if he's worth how many
- 21:17Speaker 2: fucking millions he got, but he's like he's pretty cool,
- 21:20Speaker 2: humble guy for the most part, it seems like.
- 21:21Speaker 4: But I like that he's got that guy behind the scenes,
- 21:23Speaker 4: just a big bottle of brand whatever, you know, Like
- 21:27Speaker 4: that's fun, it's fun and like I like big, colorful,
- 21:30Speaker 4: puffy and chug characters, you know, but it's let's like
- 21:33Speaker 4: stop short at murder.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, yeah, don't Ruin lives.
- 21:37Speaker 2: How great would it.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Have been to hear like, you know, the Biggie on
- 21:41Speaker 3: some Rick Ross trap beats. That would have been amazing.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it would have been nice instead of hearing
- 21:46Speaker 2: Tupac on them, because I'm sure there's like fifty Rick
- 21:48Speaker 2: Ross songs. Oh there is.
- 21:49Speaker 3: There is one where he does like Triple Beam dreams.
- 21:51Speaker 3: But it's like, you know, like it's like juicy or something.
- 21:53Speaker 3: It's pretty cool.
- 21:54Speaker 2: So yeah, sug Knight could have very fucking possibly have
- 21:57Speaker 2: done that. I mean, yeah, all that missing money that
- 21:59Speaker 2: might have been source of friction. Tupac might have just
- 22:02Speaker 2: been like I'm tired of like having you breathing down
- 22:03Speaker 2: my neck while I'm just trying to, you know, do
- 22:05Speaker 2: my weird Nation of Islam ship. Like yeah, And Jerry
- 22:09Speaker 2: Heller also is confident that Shuge Knight is the one
- 22:12Speaker 2: who had Tupac killed, which makes me feel like, oh, okay,
- 22:15Speaker 2: did you kill him then? Yeah? Yeah, Jerry Heller, So
- 22:18Speaker 2: I'm not trusting what the fuck you have to say?
- 22:20Speaker 2: Either man Jerry what a weird fucking partners you know.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Yeah, kind of good for Jerry Heller for seeing that.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Like that's the whole kind of eye for talent thing.
- 22:31Speaker 3: It's like what an outside the buck because he wasn't
- 22:33Speaker 3: really in hip hop, Like what kind of you it
- 22:36Speaker 3: was in some like I forget what genre, but it
- 22:38Speaker 3: was not hip hop that he did.
- 22:39Speaker 2: No, yeah, I don't remember, but it it. Yeah, that
- 22:42Speaker 2: was a weird team up. It was just like a
- 22:44Speaker 2: weird like minor like dance record kind of guy or
- 22:46Speaker 2: something like that. Yeah, yeah, I liked I liked on
- 22:49Speaker 2: no Vasilene just how vehemently anti semitic.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you up your cu or Jerry Heller And
- 22:57Speaker 1: we were just like yeah.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Yeah, but I mean great, it's so funny that you
- 23:03Speaker 3: can do that and then are we there yet? And
- 23:05Speaker 3: are we there yet too? And are we there yet?
- 23:07Speaker 3: The TV show? Yeah yeah, and then not that I
- 23:10Speaker 3: think you shouldn't be able to, but it's like, fuck,
- 23:12Speaker 3: it's just funny.
- 23:13Speaker 2: That's another thing that lends itself to my my theory
- 23:16Speaker 2: that rap, that gangster rap is like Fox News for
- 23:20Speaker 2: black people. Think about all the founding fathers of gangster
- 23:24Speaker 2: rap and where they are now actors. They're all fucking
- 23:28Speaker 2: actor They are the establishment, except doctor Dre, who basically
- 23:31Speaker 2: owns part of Apple now like they are the one percent.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, And there was aside from that first Schoolly
- 23:40Speaker 2: d album, all of the really classic gangster rap albums
- 23:43Speaker 2: we know of our major label products, like iced Ty's
- 23:47Speaker 2: first album was on Warner Brothers record Oh for sure.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's you know, well yeah, and it's like
- 23:52Speaker 3: you're not listening to NWA and the Posse with the
- 23:54Speaker 3: Arabian prints like Going Front, like you can go through
- 23:57Speaker 3: every track on that we're talking about straight out of
- 23:59Speaker 3: comp and you.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Know, oh yeah that was that was a trash album.
- 24:03Speaker 2: It's fucking interesting.
- 24:03Speaker 3: I was having this discussion about punk rockers and who
- 24:05Speaker 3: aged the best, and we came to the conclusion that
- 24:08Speaker 3: was probably Henry Rowlands, you know, because I found another
- 24:11Speaker 3: Wane and kind of he never really embarrassed himself. But
- 24:14Speaker 3: in terms of rappers that never really embarrassed themselves, I
- 24:17Speaker 3: feel like, you know, like everyone takes some mels, but
- 24:19Speaker 3: I feel like Dre probably has the highest hit ratio
- 24:21Speaker 3: because it's like three really good albums he had nothing
- 24:24Speaker 3: really cheesy, except for like when he was kept saying
- 24:27Speaker 3: he was going to drop de talks and didn't like
- 24:28Speaker 3: when he put out I need a doctor that song
- 24:30Speaker 3: was corny, or like, yeah, cush is a fun jam,
- 24:33Speaker 3: but it's not a good song, you know, and like
- 24:34Speaker 3: you know all that shit, and he's like, oh, in
- 24:36Speaker 3: never mind, I'm not going to do it for another
- 24:37Speaker 3: eight years, you know.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Yeah, So let's talk about the theory that Tupac faked
- 24:42Speaker 2: his own death. This one's my favorite. Yes, let's of
- 24:45Speaker 2: course it's the subject of there's a really great Chappelle
- 24:48Speaker 2: skit about this. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, the one where
- 24:51Speaker 2: in the club and Tupac like all of his lyrics
- 24:54Speaker 2: are referencing ship that's just in the room, that's in
- 24:57Speaker 2: the room, or that happened like a day ago. Yeah.
- 25:01Speaker 2: And there's this Reddit thread where someone ran through all
- 25:06Speaker 2: the reasons why Tupac is still alive, And I think
- 25:10Speaker 2: the most interesting part of it is the end, where
- 25:12Speaker 2: someone just completely destroys every point this kid makes. But
- 25:18Speaker 2: there's like some of the things that people point to
- 25:22Speaker 2: in the music video for to Live and Die in
- 25:24Speaker 2: La Apparently Tupac is wearing these Penny Hardaway shoes that
- 25:29Speaker 2: didn't come out for like another year.
- 25:31Speaker 3: I've seen that video and it's like it's that's just
- 25:33Speaker 3: a blurry shot of white shoes. It could be any shoes.
- 25:37Speaker 2: And even if it is those shoes, that's how like,
- 25:40Speaker 2: that's how marketing works. Yeah. They sometimes give the sure
- 25:43Speaker 2: yeah to famous people first, so they remember, do you.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Remember like the month before the first Yeezies dropped and
- 25:49Speaker 3: then just every famous person in the world from the
- 25:52Speaker 3: rock to Jesse Ventura just got a box of Yeezis
- 25:55Speaker 3: and they're just like, take a picture of them on
- 25:57Speaker 3: the grand spread the hype, you know, and that's just.
- 25:59Speaker 2: How you do it. Yeah, So so that uh is
- 26:02Speaker 2: not a thing. But it's all stuff like that. It's
- 26:05Speaker 2: all these little well I guess it's the lyrics too, yeah,
- 26:10Speaker 2: because there is some weird shit in his lyrics.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Oh like but like you know, wonder if having Got
- 26:14Speaker 3: a Ghetto is like a song that fucking came out earlier.
- 26:17Speaker 2: He recorded like gears and years before.
- 26:19Speaker 3: I think that might have been on the fucking not
- 26:21Speaker 3: the allallyes in Me, but the first one tupocalyb sessions, well,
- 26:25Speaker 3: the one that.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Always stood out to me was. There's this rapper called
- 26:29Speaker 2: Richie Rich who's an Oakland rapper, I think, and he
- 26:32Speaker 2: put an album out not long after Tupac died, and
- 26:34Speaker 2: there's a song with Tupac on it, and Tupac says
- 26:38Speaker 2: on that song, I've been shot and murdered. Can tell
- 26:41Speaker 2: you how it happened word for word. But best believe
- 26:44Speaker 2: motherfuckers are gonna get what they deserve. Like, what the fuck?
- 26:48Speaker 2: Don't put that on a fucking song? You know what
- 26:51Speaker 2: if you don't want me to believe you're still alive somewhere.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Yeah, well you know what makes me feel like that
- 26:55Speaker 3: that is not actually him still being alive, because if
- 26:58Speaker 3: motherfuckers are getting what they deserve, two pot Sugar Night
- 27:01Speaker 3: would have been lowered slowly into a volcano as opposed
- 27:06Speaker 3: to just being in a fucking you know, you know,
- 27:08Speaker 3: minimum security prison.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Yeah that's a good point.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Yeah, And that's the kind of shit that like, if
- 27:14Speaker 3: I'm at risk for dying, if I if there's a
- 27:16Speaker 3: comedy FATOI against me, you better believe I'm just gonna
- 27:18Speaker 3: start planning the seeds for conspiracy theories so I can
- 27:21Speaker 3: ruin my family's life by having my mother get hit
- 27:24Speaker 3: up for interviews every week about like why I'm actually
- 27:27Speaker 3: in Mexico.
- 27:28Speaker 2: She's like, no, he's gone. I saw spot. Sorry, Ma. Yeah,
- 27:32Speaker 2: there's one of the other things people point to is
- 27:35Speaker 2: that there was no autopsy.
- 27:36Speaker 1: And the problem with that is there was an autopsy.
- 27:39Speaker 1: It's just that he got shot a bunch of times.
- 27:41Speaker 2: So yeah, there's not a lot to look for, Like
- 27:44Speaker 2: you see the bullet holes and as the corn.
- 27:46Speaker 3: You're not gonna be like, oh he also you also
- 27:48Speaker 3: got to he had a little granuloma.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Like yeah, and it's like people are like, and then
- 27:53Speaker 2: they also point out that there was he was cremated
- 27:56Speaker 2: like the next day. Yeah, and people are like, when
- 27:58Speaker 2: are when are people cremated that fast? I don't know
- 28:00Speaker 2: when the fucking family wants them to be? Yeah, yeah,
- 28:02Speaker 2: and what were you thinking you were gonna dig up
- 28:04Speaker 2: and find when if we were to exhume the corpse
- 28:08Speaker 2: of Tupac, Now, it's just gonna be riddled with bullet holes, man, Yeah,
- 28:11Speaker 2: it's gonna be a bunch of fractured bones inside of
- 28:13Speaker 2: a big denim like dumpsterit type situation. Yo. Those fuck
- 28:18Speaker 2: what I don't even know what the fuck those are called?
- 28:19Speaker 2: Like you know, and the hit Them Up video where
- 28:21Speaker 2: it's just like a like big baggy jeans, like the
- 28:23Speaker 2: well oversher type thing. There is this video that started
- 28:27Speaker 2: going around in two thousand and eight that people claimed
- 28:31Speaker 2: was Tupac uh oh alive in a club in two
- 28:36Speaker 2: thousand and eight. Yeah, this is what this is where
- 28:40Speaker 2: Tupac's gonna reappear at your shitty night that you were
- 28:43Speaker 2: passing out the flyers for a community college to get
- 28:46Speaker 2: a percentage of drink sales. And the thing is, the
- 28:49Speaker 2: person in this video absolutely is Tupac. But this video
- 28:53Speaker 2: is from nineteen ninety five. That's funny. It's from Club
- 28:57Speaker 2: six six two, which it was Shook Knight's club in
- 29:00Speaker 2: Las Vegas. I think he might. I think it might
- 29:02Speaker 2: still be there, but I don't know if he's still home. Man,
- 29:04Speaker 2: we've gotten so much better graphic design since nineteen ninety five.
- 29:07Speaker 1: That looks ugly as hell.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Yeah, my favorite one is Tupac supposedly watching his hologram
- 29:13Speaker 3: appearance at Coachella.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Have you seen that one? No, we might be able
- 29:18Speaker 2: to find that because it's just some guy doing a
- 29:19Speaker 2: shitty Tupac impression. Like, yeah, we had to give y'all
- 29:22Speaker 2: a little something to like, you know, keep the faith
- 29:25Speaker 2: alive and shit, I mean I think this is corny,
- 29:28Speaker 2: but like, you know, I'm.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Actually really Tupac.
- 29:31Speaker 2: I can't show my face because y'all ain't ready, but
- 29:34Speaker 2: uh oh yeah so too as we'll have talked about
- 29:37Speaker 2: the Yeah, that'll probably be it. Oh boy, they don't
- 29:41Speaker 2: even know.
- 29:42Speaker 4: I know, and they don't even know fucking the line
- 29:44Speaker 4: for really, I know I'm watching I'm watching the performers
- 29:52Speaker 4: right now. You know what I'm saying.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I think they did a good.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Job on my animations and the way they put the
- 29:57Speaker 4: computer generated copy.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, this is not a good Tupac compression at all.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Yeah, and I approved this message.
- 30:08Speaker 4: And I'm doing my mother.
- 30:09Speaker 2: So why wouldn't you put your face on camera if
- 30:11Speaker 2: you yeah, yeah, if you really wanting people to know that,
- 30:15Speaker 2: Like I feel like con get a better video editing guy.
- 30:17Speaker 2: And this just has a poorly crop picture of him
- 30:19Speaker 2: over his hand, continue and wet, and we still I
- 30:25Speaker 2: didn't know Tupac had he was about to say, Tupac
- 30:28Speaker 2: got a botched wisdom tooth removal in Cuba.
- 30:31Speaker 3: You know, he sounds like a fucking dildo. I had
- 30:37Speaker 3: the greatest fucking bit that nobody liked about My buddy
- 30:42Speaker 3: is a rapper who got shot. His name's Calie Stacks.
- 30:45Speaker 3: I E forever, Uh south Side, what's up? And uh
- 30:49Speaker 3: he got shot? And I had a bit just about
- 30:50Speaker 3: how that's like a rapper getting on like the Tonight
- 30:53Speaker 3: Show as a comedian, like you just get more, you know,
- 30:56Speaker 3: you think about it like Tupac. Every time he got shot,
- 30:58Speaker 3: he would blow up one more and he finally got killed,
- 31:00Speaker 3: and then he became more famous in death than he
- 31:02Speaker 3: could have ever been in life. And he was like
- 31:03Speaker 3: obi wan kenobi, you know it just strike me down
- 31:05Speaker 3: on only some more records. And the teg Keith Carey
- 31:07Speaker 3: gave me is that they both came back as holograms.
- 31:10Speaker 2: A lot of simularities, but it was like it only
- 31:13Speaker 2: like this. I wrote this that the holographs two thousand
- 31:16Speaker 2: and eight. I wrote this is like twenty fourteen. It
- 31:18Speaker 2: was just way too much. It's over half a decade,
- 31:21Speaker 2: and every once in a while you get like two dudes going.
- 31:23Speaker 5: Like ah, I get that one. Yeah, cute, Yeah, So
- 31:30Speaker 5: the he faked his own death. The one thing that
- 31:33Speaker 5: is interesting about it is they always point to Cuba
- 31:37Speaker 5: as being the place that he would flee.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Oh, I have one more video recommendation. Oh and this
- 31:41Speaker 2: is creepy. Tupac's mom saying that, Yeah, Tupac's mom goes
- 31:48Speaker 2: go quietly is probably the search terms you want to
- 31:51Speaker 2: go with, because she's like, that's why he chose to
- 31:53Speaker 2: go quietly like he did. Yeah, this this will be it.
- 31:58Speaker 2: An interview with Tupac's mother. She gives a few hints
- 32:01Speaker 2: that Tupac isn't really dead. I'm going to show you
- 32:03Speaker 2: a clip from the interview where I think she says
- 32:05Speaker 2: he isn't dead, but he is hiding. And like every YouTube.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Video, I will now show you the clip. Okay, thank
- 32:12Speaker 1: you has to have a way too long intro tired.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Who's tired of fighting, tired of being built fied, tired
- 32:19Speaker 2: of being called things that he knew aside hisself he
- 32:22Speaker 2: was able to be.
- 32:23Speaker 1: You know, I think he was just tired and you
- 32:26Speaker 1: know he had right basically he had like I couldn't
- 32:31Speaker 1: change it.
- 32:31Speaker 2: As a mother, it's the worst.
- 32:32Speaker 4: I think you powers can't change it, can't make you
- 32:35Speaker 4: right and fix it for my baby, you know.
- 32:38Speaker 1: So you know I wish she.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Was here every day.
- 32:42Speaker 6: But I don't want him to be unhappy.
- 32:44Speaker 2: And I know that my son was. He chose his
- 32:49Speaker 2: life and he chose you know, in the end, he
- 32:52Speaker 2: chose to leave quietly, and I think that can leave
- 32:55Speaker 2: it alone. It's kind of creepy, right, is that a
- 32:58Speaker 2: little weird? That's weird? Huh, Yeah, that it sounds. I
- 33:02Speaker 2: would like to see the original interview because the sound,
- 33:04Speaker 2: it sounds a little boggly. Dog.
- 33:06Speaker 1: It sounded like they were chopping stuff together.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Well, it's funny.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Is like, if your Tupac's mom and you know your
- 33:11Speaker 3: son is alive, you have to before you go to
- 33:13Speaker 3: the interview, just be like a mantra a hundred times.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Do not imply that your son is still alive. Do
- 33:18Speaker 2: not imply that he just wanted to open that peanut
- 33:21Speaker 2: farm in Cuba and just like pretend to be indigenous.
- 33:24Speaker 2: But and the thing about Cuba, though, the one Cuban
- 33:27Speaker 2: native with a nose ring, fucking the thing about Cuba
- 33:31Speaker 2: is there is a family history there in that interesting.
- 33:37Speaker 2: His mom and dad were both members of the Black
- 33:40Speaker 2: Panther Party and there are I know a few high
- 33:45Speaker 2: profile Black Panthers who did eventually flee to Cuba and
- 33:49Speaker 2: just kind of stayed there forever. So it's not im
- 33:53Speaker 2: like it makes sense as that would be the place
- 33:56Speaker 2: he would hide out.
- 33:58Speaker 3: But also it's just like it seems like you just
- 34:00Speaker 3: threw an exotic, stunning location out there and it kind
- 34:03Speaker 3: of stuck.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:04Speaker 3: Me, I had the funniest shit happened because Kaepernick did
- 34:06Speaker 3: that Huey Newton photo shoot right where's And I was
- 34:09Speaker 3: talking to my room made OPI about it, and I
- 34:11Speaker 3: was like, yeah, he had that dope photoshoo where he's
- 34:12Speaker 3: dressed is Huey Newton. And I barely stopped myself from
- 34:15Speaker 3: saying Huey Lewis.
- 34:17Speaker 2: And we did this whole thing in the kid, I
- 34:18Speaker 2: want a new coach, the one that won't make me sit.
- 34:23Speaker 2: That was a nice yeah. Sorry, But so yeah, he
- 34:30Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think he's still alive. He's obviously not.
- 34:34Speaker 2: And it's like everyone was like, well, yeah, he's coming
- 34:36Speaker 2: back seven days after he dies, and then they're like,
- 34:38Speaker 2: well he's coming back seven months, seven years. Well it's
- 34:41Speaker 2: a multiple. It's fourteen years, twenty one years, and it's
- 34:45Speaker 2: just like he's dead, man, I have to tell you dude,
- 34:48Speaker 2: it's like the world ending, like the date just shifts
- 34:50Speaker 2: every fucking we just kicked the can down the road.
- 34:52Speaker 2: And yeah, so yeah, he's he's probably still alive. One
- 34:57Speaker 2: thing I did, oh, also in that va, he's very clearly,
- 35:02Speaker 2: very clearly wearing a pager at one point.
- 35:04Speaker 1: It's like that's what Cuba is.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Really behind the technology. He's he's just like barely hearing
- 35:09Speaker 2: G Unit over there.
- 35:10Speaker 1: They have the same clubs as Las Vegas, but no pager.
- 35:13Speaker 3: He's like this Sammy Hagar guy can play. Wow, that's
- 35:16Speaker 3: more Saudi Arabia.
- 35:17Speaker 2: But one thing, uh, that I love that added fuel
- 35:22Speaker 2: to the Tupac is still alive rumors is there's a
- 35:26Speaker 2: song that Eminem produced that's on one of Tupac's albums
- 35:31Speaker 2: and I can't oh. Eminem had some good beats. He
- 35:35Speaker 2: did the Way I Am from the Mistaken Yeah rips
- 35:39Speaker 2: pretty hard. Yeah, I can't find it, but it's on
- 35:41Speaker 2: one of Tupac's albums, and uh, basically at the end,
- 35:45Speaker 2: Tupac says something about the G Unit and it's like
- 35:49Speaker 2: the G Unit didn't exist when you were still alive, sir,
- 35:52Speaker 2: But I mean these are those are just phrases that
- 35:54Speaker 2: he would use a lot, you know there, Yeah, they're
- 35:56Speaker 2: and when you hear it, like, it's clever as shit,
- 35:59Speaker 2: Like it's the kind of thing I can picture Eminem
- 36:01Speaker 2: doing where he's like, Okay, I'm producing this song. I'm
- 36:04Speaker 2: also gonna make Tupac give me a shout out at
- 36:06Speaker 2: the end, because there have to be a million instances
- 36:10Speaker 2: of Tupac's just saying m yeah, And so you just
- 36:15Speaker 2: tag that on to the end of him shouting someone out,
- 36:19Speaker 2: and that's how you ignite a conspiracy theory. Yeah, for sure, say, oh,
- 36:22Speaker 2: he's still alive, it's a shout out to Eminem.
- 36:25Speaker 3: Especially the stupidest one is like Tupac was still alive
- 36:28Speaker 3: making new.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Records, they would be of a higher quality, like the
- 36:33Speaker 2: unreleased Tupac shit is all like Okay, this is good.
- 36:36Speaker 2: There's some gems here, but this is the leftovers for sure,
- 36:39Speaker 2: right yeah.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:41Speaker 2: And also, he's supposedly had all these problems with his enemies.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Wasn't doctor j one of those enemies? Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 36:48Speaker 2: wouldn't he like, did they work that out when he
- 36:50Speaker 2: came back to exactly keep them away from me, don't
- 36:57Speaker 2: even shake hands with me? If you've shared hands with
- 36:59Speaker 2: him recently. Well, yeah, and I think Am did the
- 37:03Speaker 2: on the on the Big Duets album, because Poc and
- 37:06Speaker 2: Biggie did one song together running from the Police. I
- 37:08Speaker 2: think it's called and he did the kind of like
- 37:10Speaker 2: read done yeah master version of that. He probably gave
- 37:12Speaker 2: himself a verse or some shit. Yeah. I think that's
- 37:15Speaker 2: on the that posthumous Notorious Big album, right, I think so? Yeah.
- 37:20Speaker 2: I also liked to Tupac was talking about driving back
- 37:22Speaker 2: from the Bay, and I think he just made his
- 37:24Speaker 2: someone was with him and he made him listen to
- 37:25Speaker 2: partying bullshit like five hundred times over and over again.
- 37:28Speaker 2: So yeah, that he's still alive is another one of
- 37:31Speaker 2: the conspiracy theories. Oh yeah, there's also one that says
- 37:36Speaker 2: maybe Ruthless Records killed him out of revenge, Like yeah,
- 37:42Speaker 2: Shook Knight was sniping all their artists, so they decided
- 37:45Speaker 2: to kill Tupac. I think they just decided, like who's
- 37:48Speaker 2: the bigger creative powerhouse Easy E or Tupac Shakur Easy
- 37:55Speaker 2: Charisma for days. But it's like good ice Cube wrote
- 37:57Speaker 2: all that shit.
- 37:58Speaker 3: You know, Yeah, and it's like you look into the
- 38:00Speaker 3: later shit and you're like I miss when ice Cube
- 38:02Speaker 3: was riding. This didn't easy? Does it come out before?
- 38:05Speaker 3: Straight out of content and a strange turnament? I always
- 38:08Speaker 3: forget about that.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I saw MWA in concert with ice Cube
- 38:12Speaker 2: when I was twelve years old. No shit, yeah wow,
- 38:16Speaker 2: and the pieces have come together. That's like like yeah,
- 38:20Speaker 2: that explains a lot. Like yeah, the parenting I came
- 38:23Speaker 2: up with where my parents were like NWA, sure, yeah, yeah, yah,
- 38:27Speaker 2: take your sister, she's sixteen.
- 38:30Speaker 1: And it was chaos, but it was so much fucking fun, dude.
- 38:32Speaker 2: Those like they had a couple of live clips of
- 38:34Speaker 2: like because there's not a lot of live videos of
- 38:37Speaker 2: rappers from this era really no, not really. There's like one.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Full length Biggie show where he's kind of in this
- 38:42Speaker 3: like probably like five thousand see concert Hall with poc
- 38:45Speaker 3: or at with a with a puffy.
- 38:46Speaker 2: And it's rocking pretty hard. But it's like, yeah, it's
- 38:48Speaker 2: tough to find.
- 38:48Speaker 3: I think there's Tupac level of the House of Blues
- 38:50Speaker 3: or something like that, but it's like there's just not
- 38:51Speaker 3: a lot of foot so seeing like the big kind
- 38:53Speaker 3: of NWA like kind of like stadium tour setup like
- 38:57Speaker 3: that they created was kind of interesting.
- 38:59Speaker 2: And the window of time I had to actually see
- 39:02Speaker 2: NWA with ice Cube because he like they were like,
- 39:05Speaker 2: he was out of that group like a year after
- 39:07Speaker 2: they really hit Razor Fit.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and I still like whenever I think about that,
- 39:12Speaker 2: I'm like, that's some fucking cool ship. That is cool shit.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Nw A.
- 39:15Speaker 2: As a kid, probably the coolest thing I could do
- 39:17Speaker 2: was like, well, I saw the White Stripes at the
- 39:19Speaker 2: Glasshouse with like four hundred people.
- 39:21Speaker 1: I never got to see the White Stripes.
- 39:23Speaker 2: I had tickets to see them and they broke up
- 39:25Speaker 2: two weeks before the show.
- 39:27Speaker 3: I was wondering about that. You make White is such
- 39:29Speaker 3: a weird case. Sh had that sex tape supposedly come out, Yeah,
- 39:33Speaker 3: and I think it was her. Yeah, it probably was
- 39:35Speaker 3: because I watched, but they I didn't. I didn't watch it.
- 39:37Speaker 3: I like googled for it once, couldn't find it, and
- 39:40Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, I don't care.
- 39:41Speaker 2: I mean, if you like, if if Meg White snarling
- 39:44Speaker 2: at the camera is SNAr for you, oh dear, then
- 39:49Speaker 2: then by all means check it out. But they fucking
- 39:50Speaker 2: blew my dick off.
- 39:52Speaker 1: Yeah what they.
- 39:54Speaker 3: Just the show? They blew my dick off? It was
- 39:55Speaker 3: a tremendous performance. I'm sorry, Is that Is that a
- 39:58Speaker 3: figure of speech that I just di die? That's not
- 40:01Speaker 3: commonly understood. I feel like you get it just from context.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Close.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Yeah. I wish I could have seen the white stripes,
- 40:07Speaker 1: but I never did.
- 40:08Speaker 2: I take on Wa over the White Stripes.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and Wa was cool.
- 40:11Speaker 3: The one I'm trying to get and unpops listeners if
- 40:13Speaker 3: you're feeling charitable, I'm trying to get. I'm trying to
- 40:14Speaker 3: see the Reunited Misfits at the Forum. Oh when is that?
- 40:18Speaker 3: That's December thirtieth. There's also they're also doing a show
- 40:20Speaker 3: in Vegas, I think at like the fucking Singular Wireless
- 40:24Speaker 3: Center or whatever.
- 40:24Speaker 1: How much are I'm assuming they're sold out by.
- 40:27Speaker 3: Now, so they sold out in like twenty minutes. But
- 40:29Speaker 3: they're like one hundred bucks or something to get just
- 40:31Speaker 3: up in the rafters. So I'm trying to I'll make it.
- 40:33Speaker 3: I'm going to the show. I'm going to figure out. Yeah,
- 40:35Speaker 3: I kind of want to see that. Yeah, just because
- 40:37Speaker 3: it's it's Misfits and Glenn Dan's. There's a great fucking
- 40:40Speaker 3: video of Glen Dan's. I got the Reunited show where
- 40:42Speaker 3: They've got these big.
- 40:42Speaker 2: Like pumpkins behind him, and he just goes, yeah, you
- 40:46Speaker 2: like our fucking pumpkins. They're pretty fucking cool. How'd you
- 40:52Speaker 2: like to have that out of your lawn for Halloween?
- 40:55Speaker 2: Neighbors would be like take that down, and you'd be like, no,
- 40:59Speaker 2: fuck you, Well fucking kill you. Anyway, here's a song
- 41:03Speaker 2: about zombies, like is the best? I just I'm gonna
- 41:06Speaker 2: go laugh at him. Yeah, could not have less to
- 41:08Speaker 2: do with tubacxer Ah.
- 41:09Speaker 1: It's fine. Where so let's talk.
- 41:12Speaker 2: About my mother? You know, I like the conspiracy show,
- 41:15Speaker 2: but you just go with these standents. Sometimes I'm like,
- 41:17Speaker 2: I don't know, mom, was we gonna do a whole hour?
- 41:19Speaker 2: Fuck you? The the thing about the ruthless records maybe
- 41:24Speaker 2: being involved in his death. What's interesting about it is
- 41:27Speaker 2: the document it comes from, which is I don't know
- 41:30Speaker 2: if how many people know this, but go to FBI
- 41:34Speaker 2: dot gov sometime I think it's uh FBI dot gov.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Here I will recreate the uh oh, the series of
- 41:42Speaker 2: Google searches that led you to a You can just
- 41:45Speaker 2: go to fbidi gov and they have like documents you
- 41:47Speaker 2: can look through, like I just googled out of curiosity.
- 41:50Speaker 2: I googled Jerry Heller organized crime while I was researching
- 41:54Speaker 2: this episode. And there's a website that I've I've told
- 41:58Speaker 2: people about before. It's called Vault dot FBI dot gov. Okay,
- 42:01Speaker 2: and it is just like thousands and thousands and thousands
- 42:07Speaker 2: of actual FBI documents about famous people, Adam, I don't
- 42:13Speaker 2: have time to know this. Various cases like this, Like
- 42:16Speaker 2: I just googled Jerry Heller and you get this whole
- 42:20Speaker 2: Oh and they're clearly scanned with all the ink splotches
- 42:22Speaker 2: on them, and shit, that's so awesome.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:25Speaker 2: But there's this one that came out a couple of
- 42:28Speaker 2: years ago. Atlas Obscura did a really interesting article about
- 42:32Speaker 2: it that basically it's this very long document about an
- 42:37Speaker 2: FBI investigation into not even if just into the fact
- 42:43Speaker 2: that Tupac and Easy, both in the weeks before they died,
- 42:48Speaker 2: were targeted in an extortion scheme that was run by
- 42:54Speaker 2: someone operating on behalf of the Jewish Defense League. And
- 42:58Speaker 2: they don't name the person in the documents, but it
- 43:01Speaker 2: seems like it's probably sug Night. Yeah, And basically what
- 43:06Speaker 2: the way it worked is this person would start getting
- 43:08Speaker 2: phone calls saying you're.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Gonna be killed yeah.
- 43:11Speaker 2: And sug Knight, They obviously would go to sug Night
- 43:14Speaker 2: and be like, man, what's going on. This person's fucking
- 43:16Speaker 2: calling threatened to kill me, and sug Knight would be like, oh,
- 43:20Speaker 2: well I have connections. I can make some phone calls
- 43:22Speaker 2: and see what's going on. Ye yeah, the whole time
- 43:25Speaker 2: pay us for protection on the block, right, and the
- 43:28Speaker 2: whole time he's in on it. So basically they would
- 43:32Speaker 2: at that point take this person to poke Easy whoever,
- 43:35Speaker 2: to a different residence and under the guys that they
- 43:39Speaker 2: were being guarded, and eventually they would have to give
- 43:43Speaker 2: Suge Night money and he would make another phone call
- 43:46Speaker 2: and be like all right, it's done, You're fine, and
- 43:49Speaker 2: the death threats would stop. And what a racket man?
- 43:52Speaker 3: Can you imagine the crew enough scary guy points that
- 43:55Speaker 3: you could just go through a series of like fucking
- 43:58Speaker 3: like scarecrow phone calls and then and just like.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Just imagine your boss doing that to right shit.
- 44:06Speaker 2: I mean I can't give a fuck Jewish defensially, this
- 44:11Speaker 2: really just sounds like the West Coast Avengers, like kind
- 44:14Speaker 2: of like a second string like Superhero League. Yeah, yeah,
- 44:17Speaker 2: it's an actual like they're listed as a terrorist organization.
- 44:20Speaker 2: But yeah, I was reading something. I think it was
- 44:22Speaker 2: about one of these sex scandals where one of those
- 44:24Speaker 2: dudes with this I could be completely incorrect, so I apologize.
- 44:27Speaker 3: But it was like had them like like employed, like
- 44:29Speaker 3: you know, it was like using them to like for protection.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Oh really, Yeah, yeah, there was there was a time
- 44:34Speaker 2: in this country when terrorism happened all the time. It's
- 44:37Speaker 2: just no one died, yeah, yeah, hijackings and bombings all
- 44:39Speaker 2: the time. It was all like for like money.
- 44:41Speaker 3: Yeah, but it was that that big white supremacist fucking
- 44:43Speaker 3: like armored truck jacking, right that like funded all those
- 44:47Speaker 3: groups for years that we talked about in Oklahoma City.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and the Jewish Defense League is one of those
- 44:51Speaker 2: groups in the seventies that was pulling off these terrorists
- 44:55Speaker 2: just like let's get a fucking bankroll going, and we
- 44:57Speaker 2: started like investing in ship And they've since then kind
- 45:00Speaker 2: of rebranded themselves as like an advocacy group, but they're
- 45:03Speaker 2: still it's still the Jewish Defense League and they're still meanwhile,
- 45:10Speaker 2: so that's an interesting thing, like the fact that it's
- 45:13Speaker 2: FBI documents in their pages and pages and pages of them.
- 45:16Speaker 3: It is funny, just like there's probably like a certain
- 45:19Speaker 3: amount of the budget at the FBI. That's just like,
- 45:21Speaker 3: I wonder, what do they want to figure out? Where
- 45:25Speaker 3: are we gonna go Tupac? Do we want to see
- 45:27Speaker 3: do we want to figure out what that other airhead's
- 45:29Speaker 3: flavor is?
- 45:30Speaker 2: You know?
- 45:31Speaker 1: Yeah? Who do we follow next?
- 45:33Speaker 2: Yeah? Exactly. This website is pretty fucking fascinating. I haven't
- 45:37Speaker 2: sure started to dig into all the stuff that's on there,
- 45:40Speaker 2: but this file in particular is really fascinating.
- 45:43Speaker 1: It goes through all of that.
- 45:46Speaker 2: I mean, it's probably easier to just read the Atlas
- 45:49Speaker 2: Obscura article as opposed to trying to power through the
- 45:52Speaker 2: entire thing.
- 45:52Speaker 1: But they make it.
- 45:54Speaker 2: I feel like you could kind of mad libs it
- 45:57Speaker 2: with the names that they redact. Yeah, in that like
- 46:01Speaker 2: at one point they're talking about an incident where this
- 46:03Speaker 2: shadowy figure was discussing the night life. Well, they talk
- 46:08Speaker 2: about one thing, one part where he and two associates
- 46:11Speaker 2: show up at Ruthless Records and beat up easy E Yeah,
- 46:15Speaker 2: to force him to sign over doctor Dre and the
- 46:19Speaker 2: DC that happened, Like should Knight we all know Shude
- 46:22Speaker 2: Knight did that.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Yeah, they're clearly talking about Chude Knight.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, it's insane, Like it's crazy to think of
- 46:30Speaker 2: the kind of cause you hear like Dennis was it
- 46:33Speaker 2: Dennis Quaid or Randy Quaid is the.
- 46:35Speaker 1: One who went nuts? He went nuts and was like.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Oh, I'm getting followed by these celebrity star whackers who
- 46:42Speaker 2: kill people and take their money.
- 46:43Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's like, what a lunatic.
- 46:46Speaker 2: And then you see this FBI file and it's like,
- 46:48Speaker 2: holy fuck, is Randy Quaid getting followed by celebrity star whackers?
- 46:52Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 46:52Speaker 2: Yeah, like this shit, and it makes sense. Organized crime
- 46:55Speaker 2: is a thing. Extortion is a thing. It really is.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and who easier than especially piece of shit?
- 47:00Speaker 2: Lastition probably last golden age of organized crime before it
- 47:03Speaker 2: had to go into like weird bitcoin fucking hacking. The
- 47:06Speaker 2: realms is like the nineties. It's like everyone still has pagers.
- 47:09Speaker 2: It's not like there's a camera in everybody's pocket. It's like, yeah,
- 47:11Speaker 2: let's get it in where it fits in, because this
- 47:13Speaker 2: technology is about to blow up our spot and make
- 47:14Speaker 2: this a little bit harder.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's I think.
- 47:17Speaker 2: One of my favorite trends is if you go back
- 47:20Speaker 2: and look at all the technological advances and all of
- 47:23Speaker 2: the crimes it solved.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Yeah, like cell phones.
- 47:26Speaker 2: For a long time, a lot of crimes were solved
- 47:27Speaker 2: just because people didn't realize leave your cell phone at home,
- 47:31Speaker 2: don't turn it on. Yeah, take it with you, leave
- 47:34Speaker 2: that shit at home. Otherwise everywhere you go is just
- 47:36Speaker 2: gonna ping off all these towers.
- 47:37Speaker 3: Oh there's a thing on Twitter like, name a plot
- 47:39Speaker 3: of one of your favorite movies. It would be ruined
- 47:41Speaker 3: if cell phones were present. And it's like so many movies.
- 47:44Speaker 2: There's If you go back and watch really early episodes
- 47:46Speaker 2: of Forensic Files, it gets frustrating at some point because
- 47:50Speaker 2: they go through this long investigation and at the end,
- 47:53Speaker 2: inevitably they're like, and then we pull phone records, Right,
- 47:57Speaker 2: we didn't even need to go through all this. You
- 47:58Speaker 2: solve this crime in two Yeah, and you just needed
- 48:01Speaker 2: to fill forty five minutes to sell ad space. But yeah,
- 48:05Speaker 2: that happens in it. You know, it's the Internet has
- 48:08Speaker 2: caught up with people. I feel like it happened with
- 48:11Speaker 2: video cameras and the police.
- 48:12Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, Like they got used to a comfortable
- 48:15Speaker 3: level of like, you know, like using their power and
- 48:18Speaker 3: then it was like, oh, there are repercussions for this.
- 48:21Speaker 2: Right, And I think after the Rodney King thing, it
- 48:24Speaker 2: was like, oh, well we can do this and even
- 48:25Speaker 2: if it's on video, it's fine. Yeah. So then there
- 48:27Speaker 2: was a long time where they were like comfortable being filmed.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Me and my roommates were having a fun thing because
- 48:32Speaker 3: there's a Bill Hicks bit about the Rodney King rights
- 48:34Speaker 3: and they're talking about he's naming the obviously, like so
- 48:36Speaker 3: Officer Jackson, Officer Peters, and officer Kune.
- 48:42Speaker 2: Is the way with his othern accent that he says it,
- 48:45Speaker 2: Hey love weird, officer cute? What an unfortunately named cop?
- 48:51Speaker 2: I know one beating the shit out of Rodney King?
- 48:53Speaker 2: Oh fucking for sure. Yeah, no, it is crazy. And
- 48:56Speaker 2: then like, uh, you know, like Jerry h was just
- 48:59Speaker 2: like easy one to kill, Sugar. I should have let him. Yeah,
- 49:02Speaker 2: I love That's one of my favorite interviews. Yeah, because
- 49:04Speaker 2: there that is a very tender scene in Straight out
- 49:07Speaker 2: of Compton, Yeah, where he's like I want to kill him,
- 49:09Speaker 2: and Jerry Heller's like, don't do that.
- 49:11Speaker 3: You know what I just realized, fucking Sugar, I know
- 49:14Speaker 3: Jerry Heller is the Malcolm McLaren of rap music.
- 49:17Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, right where he's just like, Oh,
- 49:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna be the business guy, but behind this and
- 49:22Speaker 2: fucking treatis dude. Uh. And also you mentioned the doc
- 49:25Speaker 2: If you want like a song that is as good
- 49:27Speaker 2: as the Ship on Straight out of Compton that you
- 49:29Speaker 2: probably haven't heard, the Grand Finaley with the d C
- 49:32Speaker 2: feed all of n w A. Yeah, Doctor Dre is
- 49:34Speaker 2: doing the interstitials. He's not rapping, but he's it's fucking
- 49:36Speaker 2: ice opening verse on that song, oh, is one of
- 49:40Speaker 2: the best in rap fucking history. And then so the
- 49:44Speaker 2: fucking the instrumental, it sounds like the climax of like
- 49:47Speaker 2: a Jackie Brown black sploitation movie. It's so fucking exciting.
- 49:50Speaker 2: It's great. It's just blood pumping. Just yeah, it's fun.
- 49:55Speaker 1: That's a That entire album is fucking flawless.
- 49:59Speaker 2: It is.
- 49:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I have that on vinyl. Oh no, I love
- 50:02Speaker 1: that album.
- 50:03Speaker 2: That that's a real that's a tragic story there. What
- 50:06Speaker 2: happened to that guy, the DC, if he was still rapping,
- 50:09Speaker 2: he would change it into the POC get more work.
- 50:16Speaker 1: He yeah, you know what happened with him?
- 50:19Speaker 2: He got like in this crazy car accident after that
- 50:21Speaker 2: album came out, and it crushed his windpipe.
- 50:25Speaker 1: So his voice sounds like this now.
- 50:27Speaker 2: And he can't he can't, he can't rap anymore. He
- 50:29Speaker 2: tried to put out an album, and I'm assuming he
- 50:32Speaker 2: still puts music out because he's a great writer. Yeah,
- 50:35Speaker 2: well he's, yeah, he's he probably could have made a
- 50:36Speaker 2: good living doing that.
- 50:37Speaker 1: Well, he did.
- 50:38Speaker 2: He for a long time was just one of Doctor
- 50:40Speaker 2: Dre's songwriters.
- 50:41Speaker 1: He probably still is to some extent.
- 50:43Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, that was a really sad story because
- 50:47Speaker 2: that guy had some fucking potential that first Yeah, that
- 50:50Speaker 2: that first album I think is one of Doctor Dre's
- 50:52Speaker 2: best production's overall. Yeah, Like just like there's certain like
- 50:56Speaker 2: there's kind of like these golden eras where you're just
- 50:58Speaker 2: like easy does It's true out of count and those
- 51:01Speaker 2: Cubra and it's just like there's like a five year
- 51:03Speaker 2: chuck where it's just like, oh, everything's fucking so good. Yeah,
- 51:06Speaker 2: Like the late eighties early nineties is the gold I
- 51:09Speaker 2: mean they call it the Golden Age of rap. Well yeah,
- 51:12Speaker 2: well just like with that specific that specific kind and
- 51:14Speaker 2: it's kind of like motown music where it's like you
- 51:17Speaker 2: could Selo puts out fuck You and it's got this
- 51:19Speaker 2: fun motown VI but it's like it's not really it
- 51:21Speaker 2: doesn't sound like that shit from back in the Supremes
- 51:23Speaker 2: and the Temptations and Yeah, four Tops and you know,
- 51:26Speaker 2: all Gladys Night, And it's just like there's a finite
- 51:28Speaker 2: amount of it, you know. And it's the same thing
- 51:29Speaker 2: with that kind of like upbeat, like like fucking straight
- 51:32Speaker 2: out of Compton rap music. It's just like, oh, it's
- 51:35Speaker 2: you fucking love it, and you can kind of get
- 51:36Speaker 2: little bits of it in other places, but it's like
- 51:38Speaker 2: there's only so much of it.
- 51:39Speaker 1: Yeah, So let's talk about the last theory.
- 51:42Speaker 2: There is a very extensive Vice article that puts forth
- 51:46Speaker 2: the idea that Snoop Dogg's cousin killed Tupac. Snoop Dogg
- 51:52Speaker 2: has a cousin named Lil Half Dead who he shouts
- 51:55Speaker 2: out on his songs all the time, and who is
- 51:57Speaker 2: makes you didn't know that he's a rapper and he
- 52:00Speaker 2: I think has put out albums before, but the industry
- 52:04Speaker 2: rumor is that he wrote Brenda's Got a Baby, which
- 52:07Speaker 2: is Tupac's first real big hit. Yeah, and the rumor
- 52:11Speaker 2: is that he gave that demo to Tupac as if
- 52:14Speaker 2: to say, hey, we listened to my demo, and then
- 52:16Speaker 2: a few months later Tupac just puts the song out
- 52:20Speaker 2: and there is a prison confession. Someone wrote a letter
- 52:25Speaker 2: confessing to being present when this murder happened and said
- 52:29Speaker 2: that Little Half Dead is the one who shot Tupac
- 52:33Speaker 2: and that he was paid by someone to do it,
- 52:36Speaker 2: specifically sug Knight's ex wife. Because I don't know if
- 52:40Speaker 2: you've heard that theory. At one point Suge Knight came
- 52:42Speaker 2: out inside being honest.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's a weird.
- 52:46Speaker 2: One because the there's basically three or four main players
- 52:51Speaker 2: in this theory. There's Little Half Dead and then his
- 52:54Speaker 2: two accomplices Quarter Dead I have no fucking idea, and
- 53:00Speaker 2: then Suge Knight's ex wife and one of her business associates,
- 53:04Speaker 2: who this prison letter basically claims that they put the
- 53:07Speaker 2: hit out on Suge Knight and that Little Half Dead
- 53:10Speaker 2: agreed to do it because he was bitter over the
- 53:13Speaker 2: song being stolen and that Suge Knight was actually the
- 53:17Speaker 2: target and that Little Half Dead was just like, well,
- 53:19Speaker 2: i'll shoot two pox. Yeah I was already there. Yeah,
- 53:21Speaker 2: I hate that guy. Yeah, he took got a Baby. Yeah,
- 53:24Speaker 2: and one off Suge Knight's putting out the head. He's like, yeah,
- 53:26Speaker 2: I'll just fucking you know, kill your golden goose and
- 53:28Speaker 2: just you know, you can sell t shirts. Yeah, And
- 53:30Speaker 2: like I had never heard that. This is the one
- 53:32Speaker 2: theory I had never Yeah, and I just kind of
- 53:36Speaker 2: explained it because I was just reading this and I
- 53:37Speaker 2: was like, okay, wait, what is the Was he half dead?
- 53:40Speaker 2: And he was just tiny interesting interesting fact to Ice
- 53:44Speaker 2: Cube's cousin, Dell, the funky hom Sapien, Yeah, the Ready rapper.
- 53:47Speaker 2: I think he appears on little crumb snatches of the
- 53:49Speaker 2: last track on the first Dell album, Mister Doublee and
- 53:52Speaker 2: all that shit. Yeah, go fucking check that out. Yeah
- 53:55Speaker 2: that was great. Yeah, that's interesting. Yeah. I mean there's
- 53:58Speaker 2: the I just a tough time because you think Brena's
- 54:01Speaker 2: Got a Baby is such the iconic Tupac song, and
- 54:04Speaker 2: it feels very Tupac with the way that the you know,
- 54:07Speaker 2: just the way the verses are constructed, with the way
- 54:09Speaker 2: the flow is you know. Yeah. So it's just it's
- 54:12Speaker 2: it's difficult to believe that that would have been someone else. Yeah,
- 54:16Speaker 2: but it you know, I mean, I guess will We'll
- 54:19Speaker 2: never know. But this this is actually one of the
- 54:23Speaker 2: theories that there's so many movies about this murder. Now, yeah,
- 54:27Speaker 2: there's at least two or three. And this theory is
- 54:30Speaker 2: put out by Russell Poole, who is one of the
- 54:34Speaker 2: He's an LAPD detective who has done a bunch of research.
- 54:37Speaker 2: He's appeared in a few of the movies, and he's
- 54:40Speaker 2: on board with this theory that it was Tupo or
- 54:43Speaker 2: Suge Knight's ex wife basically set up this hit.
- 54:47Speaker 3: Tupac and Snoop had a pretty good relationship up until
- 54:50Speaker 3: the end when he kind of was like fuck everybody. Yeah,
- 54:52Speaker 3: because All Eyes on Me was right before Calluminati and
- 54:55Speaker 3: that's the one that had America's most wanted on.
- 54:58Speaker 1: It, right. Yeah, he was there at the end, Tupac.
- 55:02Speaker 2: I mean, it's he was almost asking for because you
- 55:04Speaker 2: just like everybody want to kill Tupac.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Yeah, he was just kind of a butthole.
- 55:08Speaker 2: Yeah, Like it's almost surprising he lived as long as
- 55:11Speaker 2: he did.
- 55:11Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, he was just you know, out the West
- 55:13Speaker 3: Coast and then he just basically was like fuck all
- 55:15Speaker 3: your favorite West Coast rappers.
- 55:17Speaker 1: You know, yeah, and he would like I kind of.
- 55:19Speaker 2: Got paranoid for good reason, for sure, but clearly clearly
- 55:22Speaker 2: that good reason to be paranoid. But yeah, it's there's
- 55:26Speaker 2: so many different theories. One of my favorite ones about
- 55:30Speaker 2: this is that have you ever heard the the this
- 55:33Speaker 2: comes up in here that his tupacs like associates smoked
- 55:36Speaker 2: his ashes.
- 55:38Speaker 1: No, some Keith Richard shit like snorting his dead like.
- 55:41Speaker 6: Put him in a blunt and smoked him. Wow, damn
- 55:45Speaker 6: that's gross. That is super gross. I would not do that.
- 55:49Speaker 6: So yeah, there's that theory too. There's so many like
- 55:52Speaker 6: if we went.
- 55:53Speaker 3: We're actually going to be distributing Adam's ass. There's as
- 55:55Speaker 3: like a Patreon reward here. If you're in the fifty
- 55:57Speaker 3: dollars range, you get a little file of ATV.
- 56:01Speaker 2: If we like, if we went in detail on every
- 56:03Speaker 2: one of these, this would be a four hour oh
- 56:05Speaker 2: forty Yeah, but there's a lot. Uh, I don't I
- 56:09Speaker 2: don't know if I even have a favorite theory. I
- 56:11Speaker 2: don't know either.
- 56:12Speaker 3: I gotta I gotta feel like it's like the one
- 56:14Speaker 3: that just kind of like for me is just Shug
- 56:17Speaker 3: Knight wanted to keep cashing those checks he had to
- 56:19Speaker 3: know there's friction. He had to note that this relationship
- 56:21Speaker 3: was not gonna last forever, just by virtue of all
- 56:23Speaker 3: the shit that went down, that they were both you know,
- 56:25Speaker 3: open with each other about not to mention the missing
- 56:27Speaker 3: money and all that shit, and who knows how much
- 56:28Speaker 3: of that had been discussed.
- 56:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and there is there's another documentary that suggests that
- 56:35Speaker 2: that P Diddy and Notorious Big had him killed. Yeah,
- 56:38Speaker 2: they in that documentary. I think it's the Nick Broomfield
- 56:41Speaker 2: when he like that. There's this interview where someone like
- 56:45Speaker 2: goes in depth about the meeting they had and like
- 56:48Speaker 2: all the specifics. So it's it's like, not only are
- 56:52Speaker 2: there several theories, but there's several theories where people have
- 56:55Speaker 2: gone on record and said this is what happened.
- 56:57Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's just them trying to fucking get a
- 56:59Speaker 3: book deal and pay for family, you know, with their story.
- 57:01Speaker 3: Pretty like, yeah, I hire a ghosts ready to make
- 57:03Speaker 3: up some facts and ship. Well, I fucking love that.
- 57:06Speaker 3: This is another reason why I feel like he definitely
- 57:08Speaker 3: didn't do it, or maybe he's just the smoothest fucking
- 57:10Speaker 3: criminal of all time. There's a Biggie interview right before
- 57:12Speaker 3: Life After Death came out and they asked him about
- 57:14Speaker 3: Tupac because Biggie actually outlived.
- 57:16Speaker 2: Him, which is kind of weird when you think about it.
- 57:17Speaker 3: Yeah, but he's just like when I heard he got shot,
- 57:20Speaker 3: I was like, again, but he's just he was just like, yeah, man,
- 57:24Speaker 3: I respect for him. I would have liked to squash
- 57:27Speaker 3: to be is basically just like I wish we could
- 57:29Speaker 3: have just you know, been friends again or whatever.
- 57:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, who knows. This is one of those where
- 57:33Speaker 2: it's kind of anyone's guess to what actually happened.
- 57:37Speaker 1: And like we said, it's a rap murder, so it's
- 57:39Speaker 1: never could have.
- 57:39Speaker 2: Even been the fucking official story it could have that
- 57:41Speaker 2: one's even fucking valid. Yeah, it could have been anything.
- 57:46Speaker 2: We just you know, it's a shame it happened in
- 57:49Speaker 2: such a far off location where no witnesses were around.
- 57:54Speaker 2: I know what happened, and they drove him out into
- 57:58Speaker 2: the fucking.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Of Greenland, fucking Vegas strip.
- 58:04Speaker 2: Yeah, we solved the Aaron Hernandez murder and he killed
- 58:07Speaker 2: a dude in a fucking industrial park.
- 58:09Speaker 1: Yeah we could.
- 58:10Speaker 3: We could solve the No Country for Old Men murders.
- 58:12Speaker 3: Before we've you know, at a Texaco in a fucking
- 58:15Speaker 3: middle of nowhere.
- 58:17Speaker 2: All right, so we should wrap it up. Yeah, but
- 58:20Speaker 2: what do we have to plug before we get out
- 58:21Speaker 2: of here?
- 58:22Speaker 5: Uh?
- 58:22Speaker 3: You can see me if you're in Soco headlining the
- 58:24Speaker 3: rec Room Comedy Club in Huntington Beach December twelfth at
