- 0:03Speaker 1: Check it out the Joe Regan Experience, Train My Day Joe.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Ro podcast by night, all day.
- 0:14Speaker 3: The desk is a mess because my mind is a mess.
- 0:16Speaker 3: I wish my mind.
- 0:17Speaker 1: We're creative, that's how it works, work. Think So is
- 0:21Speaker 1: that the excuse trying to make my better?
- 0:24Speaker 3: I think that's the excuse we use for each other.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm a creative.
- 0:29Speaker 3: It's my go to default is the compression on something
- 0:32Speaker 3: sounds weird, it's just really loud. Something happeneding. My ear's
- 0:36Speaker 3: got better. What happened?
- 0:38Speaker 1: You can hear it now.
- 0:39Speaker 3: My ears are very good sometimes. I you know, when
- 0:42Speaker 3: I'm underwater for too long, do I swim or something
- 0:44Speaker 3: like that, and then I forget that my ears have
- 0:47Speaker 3: water in them, and then they come out like oh,
- 0:49Speaker 3: there's that moment we're like, oh, this is how I hear.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I feel like I have the in ear monitors for
- 0:56Speaker 1: my job. Oh right, I still like I've been using
- 0:59Speaker 1: them for I don't know, twenty years. I'm still not
- 1:01Speaker 1: used to them. Like I come from like honky Tonk
- 1:03Speaker 1: world where you can hear everything.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Yeah, hear the room. Well, it's so good that people
- 1:09Speaker 3: have them now, because boy, so many people I know
- 1:13Speaker 3: from back end of the day are almost deaf.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we I'm so glad we have them. It's
- 1:18Speaker 1: not the same. I mean, you don't feel the energy
- 1:20Speaker 1: of the room, but say you're hearing.
- 1:23Speaker 3: It's a good Yeah, you can hear enough. It's a
- 1:27Speaker 3: good trade off. Yeah. And so many of my friends
- 1:28Speaker 3: you shoot guns too, same thing. You know, they started
- 1:31Speaker 3: hunting when they were kids and no ear protection back then,
- 1:34Speaker 3: and you know, you say something to them and they're like, what,
- 1:37Speaker 3: like they'll they're all half death.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Yeah. My dad is a police officer and he's I
- 1:42Speaker 1: swear that's why my parents are still married because you
- 1:45Speaker 1: can't hear it all and the dogate is hearing it
- 1:48Speaker 1: and he never replaced it. And I'm like, is that
- 1:49Speaker 1: on purpose?
- 1:50Speaker 3: Dad? That's hilarious, that's hilarious. Yeah. You definitely develop an
- 1:54Speaker 3: ability to shut things off.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Otherwise, because men and women think and communicate differently. And
- 2:00Speaker 3: if you want your wife to communicate with you the
- 2:03Speaker 3: way your buddies do, then will you married a dude? Yeah? Okay,
- 2:07Speaker 3: so if you want to be married to a woman,
- 2:09Speaker 3: you have to listen, like listen and everything both ears
- 2:12Speaker 3: and sometimes it's like arown about journey to get to
- 2:17Speaker 3: the point, and you can't go, what the fuck are
- 2:19Speaker 3: you talking about because they're like, oh my god, why
- 2:21Speaker 3: are so hostile? So you have to go okay, okay,
- 2:24Speaker 3: selective hearing, Yeah, selective hearing.
- 2:26Speaker 1: But my husband will like I'll say it, and I'll
- 2:29Speaker 1: say it back to me and like, and I found
- 2:32Speaker 1: that when I do that, it's worse. I'm like, I'm like, say,
- 2:36Speaker 1: say what I said back to you? Get bananas at
- 2:38Speaker 1: the store. So he comes home like, where's bananas? I
- 2:40Speaker 1: didn't get any, So don't repeat it. Just hold it
- 2:43Speaker 1: in there.
- 2:46Speaker 3: That's hilarious. He blocked it out for himself.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 2:49Speaker 3: That's very funny. Yeah, the earring thing, the hearing thing
- 2:52Speaker 3: is kind of nuts that no one knew, Like it
- 2:56Speaker 3: just makes you wonder like when did people when I
- 2:58Speaker 3: wonder when people were aware that like loud music was
- 3:02Speaker 3: gonna kill your hearing.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I don't know, like just I mean, I've had the
- 3:07Speaker 1: end ears for a long time and they did save
- 3:09Speaker 1: all of our ears. But it's like I think that
- 3:12Speaker 1: and then like the longer you go, like still even
- 3:14Speaker 1: though I have those, like I turn them up way
- 3:16Speaker 1: too loud. I'm like missing the energy for this show
- 3:23Speaker 1: going out. Like sometimes when it's like a house band,
- 3:25Speaker 1: you just get to use wedges. I'm like, yes, it's amazing.
- 3:29Speaker 1: It's just like the little on stage monitor, you know
- 3:31Speaker 1: what I mean. So, but it's just so loud. I mean,
- 3:34Speaker 1: it's so loud. And I also do I do mounted shooting,
- 3:39Speaker 1: and so.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I saw that that's crazy.
- 3:42Speaker 1: And so it's a good reminder. Like the first time
- 3:44Speaker 1: I took off on the first I just started last year.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I'm not good at all, but I love it. And
- 3:49Speaker 1: I took off on my horse and I forgot to
- 3:50Speaker 1: wear your plugs and I was like, well, I'm a musician.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I probably plug my ears when I'm shooting a revolver
- 3:56Speaker 1: off of the Lord.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's is it a real all were using
- 4:00Speaker 3: a regular bullet. No, it's black powder, just the powder itself, yep,
- 4:05Speaker 3: and so safe. So just spray's.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Sprays powder, powder and air at the balloon.
- 4:11Speaker 3: And pops balloons. Yeah. How what distance it gets you?
- 4:16Speaker 1: I think fifteen.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Yards feet feet? Oh okay, so you're just riding around
- 4:21Speaker 3: the horse popping huh.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I love it. I do.
- 4:26Speaker 3: What was the origin of that sport?
- 4:29Speaker 1: I don't know. Actually, one of my best friends, her
- 4:31Speaker 1: name is Kenda Lonsane and she lives out in scott Still.
- 4:34Speaker 1: She's like the ten time world champion and.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Whoa, whoa hold on, we became a world championship of
- 4:39Speaker 3: popping balloons on a horse.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it's called mountituoting and cowboy mount chouoting. But she's
- 4:43Speaker 1: cowgirl and she's like God's girls. Everybody. She's a badass.
- 4:47Speaker 1: And became friends with her, and I just never had
- 4:50Speaker 1: the guts to go do it, you know. Finally my
- 4:53Speaker 1: husband was like, stop talking about it and go out
- 4:54Speaker 1: there and do it. Go out there and shoot with her.
- 4:56Speaker 1: You're gonna love it. Wow, And I got addicted immediately.
- 4:58Speaker 3: It's just like different, Well, it's very Wild West right now.
- 5:02Speaker 3: It's essentially training how to fight with a gun on
- 5:05Speaker 3: a horse. Yeah, that's all it.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Is, except that's the balloon is the trader.
- 5:09Speaker 3: But I mean it's that's how you would train right
- 5:11Speaker 3: without killing people.
- 5:13Speaker 1: And it's like, you know, just something that like started
- 5:15Speaker 1: a new hobby at forty, Like it's just try to
- 5:19Speaker 1: like preoccupy my mind and and I don't know, I
- 5:24Speaker 1: think it inspires me to like take a break from
- 5:26Speaker 1: thinking about what I think about every single day, which
- 5:28Speaker 1: is music industry, you know, So just like trying new
- 5:31Speaker 1: things and same, what the hell, let's go for it.
- 5:34Speaker 3: I think that's very good for artists. I try to
- 5:37Speaker 3: talk to comedians about that all the time. I'm like,
- 5:39Speaker 3: you pick up something.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Man, Yeah, hobbies are playing for.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Golf, go fishing, do something for me? I playpool, do something, started.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Golf too, trying new things era my yes, era, like sure,
- 5:54Speaker 1: I'll do it. Started golf not too great yet, but
- 5:57Speaker 1: I did. I just played the Ryder Cup. Oh no,
- 6:00Speaker 1: they had like a celebrity somebody heard I played golf,
- 6:03Speaker 1: and when they heard that, I literally started.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Like that day, Jamie's a nut and golf.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Nut, literally with like cramming my ass off like this
- 6:13Speaker 1: September because I was on towour old somewhere and I
- 6:15Speaker 1: didn't have time to practice, and you know how that feels,
- 6:17Speaker 1: like golf is you have to practice.
- 6:20Speaker 3: And do you have a coach.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I had a coach, Yes, Dan, I have a coach
- 6:23Speaker 1: and he came with me as my caddie. Very helpful,
- 6:26Speaker 1: but it was it was an experience. It was a
- 6:29Speaker 1: lot of pressure.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Like did you feel it even though expect.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I just felt like, what what, what
- 6:36Speaker 1: the hell have I done? When I got there. It's
- 6:38Speaker 1: like playing doing something you don't do in front of people.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Right, but people do it. You just don't do it
- 6:44Speaker 3: a lot.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and I don't do things in front of people.
- 6:46Speaker 1: But it's singing in.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Front of the people, and you're really good at it.
- 6:50Speaker 3: That's the difference.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Well, that's the thing. Doing something that you suck out
- 6:52Speaker 1: in front of people a very scary place to right.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Right, Jamie has O. J. Simpson's golf clubs. How many
- 7:02Speaker 3: do you have? It's a couple of how many you
- 7:08Speaker 3: got three? No, I mean like a whottle set.
- 7:11Speaker 1: But do you use them?
- 7:12Speaker 3: I use one of them.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Did you hit?
- 7:15Speaker 3: Well, I have. That's why I use that. Well, he
- 7:20Speaker 3: bought it as a goof It's just fun to talk about.
- 7:23Speaker 3: It's fun. Just one of those conversations. Start it came up,
- 7:26Speaker 3: was it did you get him after he died? Yeah? Yeah,
- 7:28Speaker 3: I mean I got him like six months ago. Yeah,
- 7:30Speaker 3: I forgot. I forgot when he died a couple of
- 7:33Speaker 3: years ago.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Well that's cool, I mean, I.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Guess, but it is really important having some kind of
- 7:39Speaker 3: a thing that you do to take your mind off
- 7:42Speaker 3: of the business. Because the people that I know where
- 7:43Speaker 3: their mind is only on show business whatever it is, music, comedy,
- 7:47Speaker 3: whatever it is. They go crazy. You can eventually get
- 7:50Speaker 3: lost in your own little world. You need a little break,
- 7:53Speaker 3: you do.
- 7:54Speaker 1: And I think it's like, you know, especially if you're
- 7:57Speaker 1: like a rider, you got to go live to write
- 7:59Speaker 1: about it. M or what are you written about? Same
- 8:01Speaker 1: shit you already said, Right, It's like I need to
- 8:04Speaker 1: go live a life and gather information and be around
- 8:07Speaker 1: different people and yeah, sort of open my circle up
- 8:12Speaker 1: to just.
- 8:13Speaker 3: I don't know, different experience, yeah, conferent environment. Yeah, my
- 8:16Speaker 3: friend Ari does that. He disappears for like three months
- 8:20Speaker 3: every year and a half or so, Like he gets
- 8:22Speaker 3: rid of his phone, gets rid of his email, that.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Goes off grid.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Oh, he goes off grid. He goes to Asia, he
- 8:27Speaker 3: backpacks through age and he's famous. He's a famous comedian
- 8:30Speaker 3: and he doesn't give a fuck. He just goes and
- 8:32Speaker 3: vanishes for like we can't find him. No one knows
- 8:35Speaker 3: where he is. I don't hear from him for like
- 8:36Speaker 3: three four months. I just hope he's alive.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Does it change him?
- 8:39Speaker 3: Oh? Yeah, he comes back weird. He's weird already. He's weird.
- 8:43Speaker 3: He's weirder when he comes back because he's, you know,
- 8:46Speaker 3: been living in foreign countries for you know, a long time.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Well I'm not. I mean, I'm just shooting balloons and
- 8:52Speaker 1: swinging a golf club. Nothing as cool as that.
- 8:55Speaker 3: But the thing you're doing. The thing about both of
- 8:57Speaker 3: those things is they require all of your focus while
- 9:00Speaker 3: you're doing. I mean, if you're riding a giant animal
- 9:03Speaker 3: while you're shooting a gun, like, there's no room for
- 9:05Speaker 3: thinking about, oh, I gotta do laundry, you know, there's
- 9:07Speaker 3: no room you just you're just doing that thing. Only.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why. That's what I think. I loved about it,
- 9:13Speaker 1: and I'm addicted to Yeah, you know, And I guess
- 9:15Speaker 1: I don't really have always say, I don't have like
- 9:17Speaker 1: an adrenaline junkie in me, but I guess i'd have
- 9:20Speaker 1: to have a little bit for joining this argus I got,
- 9:24Speaker 1: you know, like, yes you.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Do, it's kind of joining this ergus Yeah.
- 9:28Speaker 1: So but like I think that just that little that
- 9:31Speaker 1: the focus and the little jolt that you get of
- 9:34Speaker 1: like you know, this the same kind of high we
- 9:37Speaker 1: get like after a show you know, it's like, I
- 9:39Speaker 1: still guess I need that, but just in a different form.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Yeah, joining the rodeo. There's there's something about shooting at
- 9:47Speaker 3: things too. I do archery, and there's something about shooting
- 9:50Speaker 3: at things that also just really cleans your mind, because
- 9:54Speaker 3: in that moment while you're pulling a trigger, there's no
- 9:57Speaker 3: room for anything else. If you're trying to hit a target,
- 9:59Speaker 3: there's no room for anything else, and it just it
- 10:02Speaker 3: pushes all that stuff away. It gives you a little
- 10:04Speaker 3: little mental vacation. Yeah, and then you come back like cleaner.
- 10:08Speaker 1: What kind of boat are you shooting?
- 10:10Speaker 3: I shoot a compound? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:13Speaker 1: I used to shoot bows. I have a long time,
- 10:16Speaker 1: but oh really I got them back out during twenty
- 10:18Speaker 1: twenty one out all the time in the world. And
- 10:21Speaker 1: my husband's from New York City. So I was like,
- 10:23Speaker 1: I got these bows, I'll teach you how to shoot
- 10:25Speaker 1: a bow. So we just set up the targets and
- 10:27Speaker 1: got them all fixed up and it was fun. I mean,
- 10:29Speaker 1: it is fine. It's the same thing I think you're
- 10:31Speaker 1: It's very focus. It's just even if it's just for
- 10:34Speaker 1: a little while, it's that little moment in time that
- 10:37Speaker 1: this is all I'm doing right now.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Right. Have you ever bow hunted?
- 10:40Speaker 1: I used to be a hunter. Yeah, yeah, yep, I
- 10:42Speaker 1: did a hundred for a long time.
- 10:43Speaker 3: My dad tree stand yep.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Okay, a ground blind either way, right. Bow Hunting was
- 10:48Speaker 1: my absolute favorite to do because it took the focus
- 10:52Speaker 1: and it was intimate. Yeah, and it took a lot
- 10:54Speaker 1: of skill in practice, certainly to make sure you're gonna yeah.
- 10:58Speaker 3: White tail, white tail. Oh nice.
- 11:01Speaker 1: But I raised a baby deer. But that's a problem,
- 11:07Speaker 1: So behud days are behind me.
- 11:11Speaker 3: We found a buck with a broken leg on our
- 11:14Speaker 3: property and my wife took defeeding it. Yeah, and all
- 11:18Speaker 3: of her enthusiasm for me hunting kind of went out
- 11:21Speaker 3: the way.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Changes things, yeah.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Because it's kind of like a dog like.
- 11:26Speaker 1: There, he was just like a dog like l deer
- 11:31Speaker 1: like became like my.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Pet, and it's different than any other feral animal, and
- 11:36Speaker 3: that they domesticate like that, they really do.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Like he was literally I'd come home and he would
- 11:42Speaker 1: run over to me like a dog. So definitely change
- 11:45Speaker 1: my mind.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Well, I think it's because they're dumb, unfortunately. I think
- 11:51Speaker 3: nature has them set up to be not very intelligent
- 11:55Speaker 3: and just food. Yeah, you know, and he's a beautiful
- 11:59Speaker 3: food thing. Yeah, that's really what they are. Yeah.
- 12:01Speaker 1: My dad, my dad, you know, I grew up hunting
- 12:04Speaker 1: with him, like taught me how to shoot a gun
- 12:06Speaker 1: and all that stuff at seventeen. And when I raise
- 12:09Speaker 1: that buck, he was like, it's over.
- 12:10Speaker 3: And yeah, it's over.
- 12:11Speaker 1: It's over.
- 12:12Speaker 3: It's over. Yeah. I'll never raise a baby elk, I'll
- 12:15Speaker 3: tell you that.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 3: I don't think too much, but I get it. I mean,
- 12:19Speaker 3: we have deer in our neighborhood and I see these
- 12:21Speaker 3: little cute babies that are born every year, and you know,
- 12:23Speaker 3: we stop the car. Oh my god.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Especially in Texas. They're everywhere everywhere.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, and there's not any predators out here because
- 12:32Speaker 3: you just shoot them.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:33Speaker 3: So there's like these deer all over the place and
- 12:35Speaker 3: they're just super unless they get hit by a car.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I don't know what happened.
- 12:38Speaker 1: They're like not affected, yeah anymore.
- 12:41Speaker 3: No, No, but they are beautiful and it's just it's
- 12:45Speaker 3: cool to have animals around. Just it's cool to be
- 12:48Speaker 3: at least in some kind of form of nature.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm such animal over. I mean I don't do well.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Like That's why I brought your dog toys. I'm like,
- 12:59Speaker 1: I just, I just, I don't know. It's part of
- 13:01Speaker 1: who I am is to have especially dogs, Like that's
- 13:04Speaker 1: my heart.
- 13:04Speaker 3: But me too.
- 13:06Speaker 1: I have a foundation called Muttnation Foundation. I started with
- 13:09Speaker 1: my mom two thousand and nine and so far we've
- 13:12Speaker 1: raised over eleven million dollars since then. For it was
- 13:14Speaker 1: like a little mom and pop operation back in the day,
- 13:16Speaker 1: but but we just it just has been my heart
- 13:19Speaker 1: since I was a little girl. I think growing up
- 13:20Speaker 1: in the country where there's just animals everywhere, whether it's
- 13:24Speaker 1: deer or stray dogs or stray cats or whatever, I
- 13:28Speaker 1: think it just kind of prepped me for you know,
- 13:31Speaker 1: when you like get a platform and someone's like, what
- 13:34Speaker 1: do you want your charity to be, It's like, oh,
- 13:36Speaker 1: I know what it's gonna be.
- 13:37Speaker 3: So what does your charity do?
- 13:38Speaker 1: We rescue, Well, we advocate for rescue. Mut Nation Foundation.
- 13:42Speaker 1: We don't have shelters. We lift up the arms of shelters,
- 13:45Speaker 1: is what we say. Because my mom and dad were
- 13:48Speaker 1: private investigators my whole life, and so my mom like
- 13:52Speaker 1: just because we started rescuing dogs just when I was
- 13:55Speaker 1: a little girl. You know, you live in the country,
- 13:57Speaker 1: people dump them off and whatever. Started adopting some from
- 14:00Speaker 1: the shelter as a teenager in volunteering, and so you know,
- 14:05Speaker 1: she sort of started vtting shelters just because that's her background,
- 14:09Speaker 1: you know, checking up on people and make sure they're
- 14:10Speaker 1: doing what they're supposed to do. And so like two
- 14:13Speaker 1: thousand and nine, it was like, oh, I kind of
- 14:15Speaker 1: started to get a name for myself, and you need
- 14:18Speaker 1: to pick something that you're passionate about that you want
- 14:20Speaker 1: to give back to. So we started it and basically
- 14:23Speaker 1: we advocate for span Nouter, We advocate for Adopted Shop,
- 14:27Speaker 1: and we raise money to give to shelters all over
- 14:31Speaker 1: the country. Every year we give a five thousand dollars
- 14:34Speaker 1: grant to a shelter in every state and try it
- 14:38Speaker 1: all repeat. So there's just so many that need help,
- 14:42Speaker 1: you know, and there's so many amazing animals out there.
- 14:44Speaker 1: We just try to remind people there's amazing animals out
- 14:48Speaker 1: there that you don't have to go buy one.
- 14:49Speaker 3: There's if my my wife is allergic and one of
- 14:53Speaker 3: my daughters are allergic, I still have two dogs. But
- 14:55Speaker 3: I if that wasn't the case, I'd have like fifty dogs.
- 15:00Speaker 3: I can't.
- 15:00Speaker 1: But our yours are not on sheddars.
- 15:02Speaker 3: What's up?
- 15:02Speaker 1: Yours are shudders though, right?
- 15:04Speaker 3: Yeah? They shed yeah that you know, you just keep
- 15:06Speaker 3: them clean. She's not not nearly as bad as when
- 15:10Speaker 3: I first met her. When I first met her, she
- 15:12Speaker 3: really would get like hives if she pet the dogs.
- 15:14Speaker 3: But also I was not that good at washing my dogs,
- 15:17Speaker 3: and they're always in the yard playing around, and they're
- 15:20Speaker 3: always dirty.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Yep.
- 15:21Speaker 3: But if you don't have dogs, and dogs are like
- 15:23Speaker 3: extra love you have, your love in your life will
- 15:27Speaker 3: be whatever the level's at now, it'll be like thirty
- 15:30Speaker 3: five percent for sure.
- 15:32Speaker 1: I allerged everything. I love, horses, cats, dogs, horse, all
- 15:35Speaker 1: of it.
- 15:36Speaker 3: I live.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I live like on a ligra wow poping allegra to
- 15:41Speaker 1: enjoy my life. But I don't care. It's worth it.
- 15:43Speaker 3: One of my daughters is so allergic that we went
- 15:45Speaker 3: to Rome once and we were on this horse driven.
- 15:50Speaker 3: They have like those tourist things you do. You sit
- 15:52Speaker 3: in the back of a wagon the horse drags around
- 15:54Speaker 3: the city, and just being down wind of the horse,
- 15:58Speaker 3: her eyes were swallowing up. We had a get out
- 16:00Speaker 3: off the horse and walk the rest away, and we
- 16:03Speaker 3: had to find a pharmacy. Oh it's bad, she's she's
- 16:06Speaker 3: got it bad.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Yeah, shots or anything.
- 16:08Speaker 3: She did that, she did the whole thing, but they
- 16:11Speaker 3: hated it, you know. And when my wife stopped doing shots,
- 16:14Speaker 3: then all of our allergies got way better. And she
- 16:16Speaker 3: was doing shots because Texas has a lot of allergens.
- 16:20Speaker 3: You know, a lot of people that come from places
- 16:21Speaker 3: like California. You don't realize it. You come here and
- 16:24Speaker 3: then you get whammied.
- 16:27Speaker 1: With Like I was sneezing all the way over here
- 16:29Speaker 1: because I just landed.
- 16:30Speaker 3: You get them too.
- 16:32Speaker 1: I just like, I live in Nashville half the time
- 16:35Speaker 1: and Austin half the time, and I it's like the
- 16:38Speaker 1: two of the worst places for allergies.
- 16:40Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, are they really?
- 16:41Speaker 1: Yeah, don't matter.
- 16:42Speaker 3: I mean I didn't know that Austin was that bad,
- 16:45Speaker 3: and I didn't get them at all until really probably
- 16:47Speaker 3: last year started here five years almost six, so like
- 16:52Speaker 3: no five so like last year, I started getting sore
- 16:56Speaker 3: throats and I was like, am I getting sick? What
- 16:57Speaker 3: the fuck is going on? Then I went to Vegas
- 16:59Speaker 3: for the UFC no sore throats. I came back sore
- 17:02Speaker 3: throat again. I'm like, oh, Damn, it's just argy. It's
- 17:06Speaker 3: an irritation because if it didn't make any sense, I
- 17:08Speaker 3: was like, I feel good, I feel like really healthy,
- 17:11Speaker 3: but like this this thing in my throat's bugging me.
- 17:14Speaker 3: I'm like, maybe I just got to be careful. Maybe
- 17:16Speaker 3: I'm fighting off a cold. Because I didn't want to
- 17:18Speaker 3: admit it. It was like everybody else getting allergies. I'm
- 17:20Speaker 3: not getting it makes sense.
- 17:21Speaker 1: If you're like not used to the trees and the
- 17:24Speaker 1: grass here. I mean, it's like it's a whole new
- 17:27Speaker 1: ecosystem that you have to get used to.
- 17:29Speaker 3: But the weird thing they say it takes like three
- 17:31Speaker 3: years before it hits you. And I was like, shut up,
- 17:33Speaker 3: that doesn't make any sense. But it's true. Yeah, it's true.
- 17:36Speaker 3: It seems to be true. Seems to get you after
- 17:39Speaker 3: like three years.
- 17:39Speaker 1: What do you do about it?
- 17:40Speaker 3: Nothing, just deal with it. I figure my body's gonna adapt.
- 17:44Speaker 3: I feel like if I just like let my body
- 17:46Speaker 3: deal with whatever these allergiens are and understand what they are,
- 17:49Speaker 3: it'll figure it out. I took a lot of vitamins.
- 17:51Speaker 3: It'll be fine. Yeah, And it seems to be better.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Like this year, I got like a couple sniffles a
- 17:56Speaker 3: few days in a row where I was like thinking
- 17:58Speaker 3: I had a cold, and then I realized it was
- 18:00Speaker 3: high something mold or fucking cedar or whatever.
- 18:04Speaker 1: The hell it is. You just didn't have to pay
- 18:06Speaker 1: attention to it before.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess, but whatever that is. All the positives
- 18:12Speaker 3: about living here like greatly outweigh it.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Yeah. I love it too.
- 18:16Speaker 3: This place rules, it does.
- 18:17Speaker 1: I'm glad you are here. He came in twenty twenty then, right, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 18:21Speaker 1: My little brother lives here and his husband Mark, and
- 18:24Speaker 1: he went to ut and never came home. Our little town, Lyndell,
- 18:27Speaker 1: Texas representing today. It's about eighty miles east to Dallas.
- 18:31Speaker 1: And so I bought a place here in twenty seventeen
- 18:34Speaker 1: and spend a lot of time in Austin.
- 18:36Speaker 3: It's great.
- 18:37Speaker 1: It's a great time.
- 18:38Speaker 3: I mean, we should probably stop talking about how great
- 18:40Speaker 3: it is because people want to move here.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not. There's a lot of allergies, guys.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Yeah, guys, stay home, don't sneeze. I talked to a
- 18:47Speaker 3: lot of people in a moving here, and I think
- 18:48Speaker 3: I've done talking to people. It's like we're good.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Well, Nashville's our other city that that's happening too. But yeah,
- 18:55Speaker 1: the Marrier.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Really Well, the thing about Austin is like it wasn't
- 18:58Speaker 3: really much of a comedy scene. There was one comedy
- 19:01Speaker 3: club that closed before I moved here. It already closed
- 19:05Speaker 3: like before the pandemic, and I guess like at the
- 19:08Speaker 3: beginning of the pandemic at one Under, and so the
- 19:12Speaker 3: comedy scene here was kind of empty. And you know,
- 19:15Speaker 3: when we moved here and we started doing shows here,
- 19:17Speaker 3: it was one of the only places in the country
- 19:18Speaker 3: where we could do live indoor shows, and we were
- 19:21Speaker 3: like fuck it. And then comedians just started moving here
- 19:24Speaker 3: because they were convinced that LA was never going to open.
- 19:26Speaker 3: And once I was here and Ron White was here,
- 19:29Speaker 3: Tony Hinchcliffe was here, everybody was like, well, let's fuck it.
- 19:33Speaker 3: I want to live. I don't want to be trapped
- 19:35Speaker 3: in my house and not be able to perform for
- 19:37Speaker 3: a year and a half or whatever it's going to be.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Data brokers are invading your privacy. They're recording everything you
- 19:43Speaker 3: do online, and if you live in the US, they're
- 19:45Speaker 3: selling your information to anyone and everyone who's willing to
- 19:49Speaker 3: buy it. But Thankfully, there's a way to stop all
- 19:52Speaker 3: the tracking and spying, and that's with ExpressVPN. ExpressVPN is
- 19:58Speaker 3: an app that hides your IP address and re routes
- 20:01Speaker 3: one hundred percent of your online activity through secure, encrypted servers.
- 20:06Speaker 3: This keeps data brokers from tracking your information, protecting you
- 20:10Speaker 3: from invasive advertisers, scammers, and even criminals. And ExpressVPN is
- 20:15Speaker 3: now offering three different plans allowing you to customize your
- 20:20Speaker 3: VPN experience. The basic plan starts as low as three
- 20:23Speaker 3: dollars in forty nine cents a month, that's less than
- 20:26Speaker 3: twelve cents a day. Or if you want all the
- 20:28Speaker 3: bells and whistles, including identity protection, credit monitoring, and a
- 20:33Speaker 3: dedicated IP, just choose one of their more premium plans.
- 20:37Speaker 3: It's up to you. Plus, right now you can get
- 20:40Speaker 3: four extra months of service if you tap the banner
- 20:43Speaker 3: or go to ExpressVPN dot com slash rogan. That's a

- 20:50Speaker 3: a month plus four extra months of service. Go to
- 20:54Speaker 3: ExpressVPN dot com slash rogan and if you're watching on YouTube,
- 20:59Speaker 3: get your four extra months by scanning the QR code

- 21:08Speaker 1: It's great. I my first show back. I think it
- 21:13Speaker 1: was after like three hundred and thirty two days whoa
- 21:16Speaker 1: of no shows, no bus rides, feel crazy. It was
- 21:20Speaker 1: that Billy Bob's in four words, because like you said,
- 21:22Speaker 1: Texas was like what covid, We're gonna go do stuff.
- 21:26Speaker 1: We're gonna hold the talk right now. Yea. So it
- 21:29Speaker 1: was we did a little residency at Billy Bob's and
- 21:31Speaker 1: we did five shows, and I mean, yeah, I mean
- 21:35Speaker 1: but I had it before I had I had I
- 21:37Speaker 1: had it before we even knew what it was. It's
- 21:39Speaker 1: on the road, like I was around so many people's
- 21:41Speaker 1: on tour, and before we knew it it was I
- 21:44Speaker 1: had to sing like none of my tricks worked with
- 21:47Speaker 1: like all my singer tricks, like ster it shot B twelve,
- 21:50Speaker 1: I V vocal rests, like just couldn't shake it. And
- 21:54Speaker 1: then a month later it's like, oh, that's because it's
- 21:57Speaker 1: something real bad we've never heard. I had to kidsel
- 22:01Speaker 1: shows a terrible but the show first show back was
- 22:04Speaker 1: I had five in a row, but the first one
- 22:06Speaker 1: was like just rowdy and like so old school honky
- 22:09Speaker 1: talk feeling and like I was crying. It was just
- 22:12Speaker 1: it was a cool moment.
- 22:13Speaker 3: It feels weird, right. It was good to miss it though, Yeah,
- 22:17Speaker 3: that's true.
- 22:18Speaker 1: It was really good to miss it. I you know,
- 22:21Speaker 1: I never had a chance to. I never saw country music,
- 22:24Speaker 1: especially like we just don't we just tour you around,
- 22:27Speaker 1: we can warriors, make a record, tour it for two years,
- 22:30Speaker 1: do it again, repeat, rents repeat, and I've been doing this.
- 22:33Speaker 1: I was seventeen, so like just years and years of
- 22:36Speaker 1: not knowing if I could miss it, just you know, grinding,
- 22:40Speaker 1: and I did. I mean, I was like, dang, I
- 22:44Speaker 1: missed my bus, I miss the road, which I wasn't
- 22:48Speaker 1: sure what happened, right, So it is it's hard and
- 22:53Speaker 1: so uh yeah, I was happy to be back. But
- 22:57Speaker 1: but now it's back harder than ever. It's like just
- 23:01Speaker 1: you know, it's a it's a different, it hits different.
- 23:04Speaker 1: After forty you don't recover as quickly, do you.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Do you ever like carve out vacation times like say,
- 23:11Speaker 3: like for the month of December, I'm not doing shit.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Yeah that's the winter. Like last year, I went to Arizona,
- 23:18Speaker 1: I went to to Phoenix area and rode with all
- 23:22Speaker 1: those cowgirls shooting guns off horses, and I was like,
- 23:24Speaker 1: and I was just so rejuvenated and refreshed, and I
- 23:26Speaker 1: was like, I need to make that a priority. Like
- 23:29Speaker 1: I just think none of us are good at that.
- 23:31Speaker 1: If you're really driven and really goal oriented and like
- 23:35Speaker 1: you are, I mean, I have to like make myself
- 23:38Speaker 1: and then I'll go and say, well, they're working me
- 23:41Speaker 1: to death. They is me. I'm the one adding shit
- 23:43Speaker 1: to my calendar. That is me. My husband's like, you
- 23:46Speaker 1: said you were going to be off this week, Like,
- 23:49Speaker 1: well I had this one. It's like, so I really
- 23:51Speaker 1: am making like the priority, like take some winter months
- 23:54Speaker 1: and you know, cause we start touring in the spring
- 23:56Speaker 1: and don't stop till the winter again. So I feel
- 23:59Speaker 1: like it's you know, it's important.
- 24:02Speaker 3: It's intelligent, right, It's an intelligent thing to do to
- 24:06Speaker 3: give yourself a forced vacation, some sort of a break,
- 24:10Speaker 3: so that just think think of your creativity as like
- 24:13Speaker 3: a battery. You can't run your phone until it's got zero.
- 24:16Speaker 3: You gotta charge it, so stick it in the cable,
- 24:19Speaker 3: put it into the wall, let a charge for a
- 24:21Speaker 3: little while. Like you got to think about it that way.
- 24:24Speaker 3: I guess what do you do for your chill, Tom,
- 24:28Speaker 3: I don't do a lot of chilling. Well, I don't know,
- 24:30Speaker 3: I just do other stuff. Same.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I was like, I feel like you're preaching to the choir.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I watch TV. I like to watch
- 24:39Speaker 3: like documentaries and stuff, and I watch fights and I
- 24:42Speaker 3: watch YouTube videos. But I can't do it much or
- 24:47Speaker 3: I just don't like that feeling. I feel like I'm
- 24:49Speaker 3: wasting time. So I have to keep myself on to
- 24:52Speaker 3: do other things.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Well, that's the things like I'm not just you know,
- 24:56Speaker 1: going out there to chill out on the couch. I'm
- 24:58Speaker 1: like I'm in the desert doing something physical. Also, like
- 25:04Speaker 1: musicians are like our life isn't that physical, Like we don't.
- 25:08Speaker 1: It's kind of a as far as like activity, like
- 25:10Speaker 1: we for written songs, we're sitting around written songs, we're
- 25:13Speaker 1: sitting around practicing, we're standing there you know and tell
- 25:16Speaker 1: the show part. So like I have to make sure
- 25:18Speaker 1: I like my hobbies should be active.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, sure, just and also do something that
- 25:26Speaker 3: like active stuff stimulates your mind more, and I think
- 25:30Speaker 3: active stuff will probably aid in your writing more, right.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Yeah for sure?
- 25:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so it has to. I mean it
- 25:37Speaker 3: just makes sense. Yeah, it's when when you sit down
- 25:41Speaker 3: to write, do you like sit down and write in
- 25:44Speaker 3: front of a computer. Do you wait till an idea
- 25:46Speaker 3: comes to you? Do you write on a piece of paper?
- 25:48Speaker 1: How do you all of it? Usually? Like I love
- 25:52Speaker 1: the co write write by myself. I'm not good at it.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I encourage it for any artists I'm mentoring or anything else,
- 25:59Speaker 1: but I'm need to do it myself more because co
- 26:02Speaker 1: written's fun. You're like hanging around with which I met you?
- 26:05Speaker 1: Actually one of my favorite writers benefit Jack Ingram him
- 26:10Speaker 1: and John Randall my other best friend and I we
- 26:13Speaker 1: which I think you met him too. We uh, we
- 26:15Speaker 1: have atle side project we call the Marfa Tapes and
- 26:18Speaker 1: we would go out to the desert and Marfa and
- 26:20Speaker 1: which is have you been there yet? It is like
- 26:23Speaker 1: a different world? Says it is a different literal different world.
- 26:28Speaker 1: And they're so like it's it's magical. I don't know
- 26:31Speaker 1: what's in the air out there, but how far is
- 26:35Speaker 1: about six and a half?
- 26:36Speaker 3: Six and a half is that coffee?
- 26:38Speaker 1: Yeah? Anyway, like we'll sit around and j R Is amazing.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Cheers tar player, cheers, thank you. He'll come up with
- 26:47Speaker 1: like a riff or somebody has a title. That's why
- 26:50Speaker 1: I like co written. I don't know, it's more fun
- 26:51Speaker 1: to celebrate it with your friends, you know what I mean?
- 26:53Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. I mean some of the best ideas
- 26:56Speaker 3: that comedians ever come up with we come up and
- 26:58Speaker 3: then the green room because we're just riff and yeah,
- 27:00Speaker 3: Like there's always a moment where, like, you know, we're
- 27:02Speaker 3: hanging around and Tony will say something, well like, dude,
- 27:04Speaker 3: write that down down.
- 27:05Speaker 1: The same thing. It's exact same thing.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's like, you know, creativity is interesting
- 27:12Speaker 3: because you want to be inspired, and you're never more
- 27:17Speaker 3: inspired than you are around other creative people.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Yeah, especially people that are better than you.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Yeah for sure. Right.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like I'm like, oh, you're a really great
- 27:26Speaker 1: writer and great musician. We should be friends. I need
- 27:31Speaker 1: to learn from you and me look cool.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Yeah, And it kicks up your desire to do better
- 27:36Speaker 3: and notch.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Yeah, especially like too, I've been working with younger artists
- 27:40Speaker 1: and I love seeing their fire, like they're like racehorses
- 27:45Speaker 1: at the gate, you know what I mean. And it
- 27:47Speaker 1: reminds me of how that felt and reminds me to
- 27:51Speaker 1: find my moments where I feel that way too.
- 27:53Speaker 3: Mm hmmm, yeah, that's great. Yeah. I feel the same
- 27:56Speaker 3: way about working with young comedians. It's important, it's good.
- 28:00Speaker 3: It's also it's like great to see the sparkle in
- 28:02Speaker 3: their eye when they do like their first big crowd,
- 28:05Speaker 3: like like, come on, man, it's just like a regular club.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Go out there, give me some knuckles, right, and you
- 28:10Speaker 3: see watch them kill in front of thousands of people
- 28:12Speaker 3: and they come back like whoa.
- 28:14Speaker 1: And you're like, oh, oh, now now you're at the bug. Yeah,
- 28:17Speaker 1: now you.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Get well they had the bug already. But it's like
- 28:19Speaker 3: you get to feel it. I get to feel it
- 28:21Speaker 3: again for the first time. I've done it so many times.
- 28:23Speaker 3: It's almost kind of normal, which it never should be normal,
- 28:27Speaker 3: you know. And you get to see somebody else experience
- 28:29Speaker 3: like the jolt of like what it feels like that
- 28:30Speaker 3: spotlight in your face and all those people in the crowd,
- 28:33Speaker 3: and it's exciting.
- 28:34Speaker 1: It is, and it's good. It's like it's a reminder,
- 28:37Speaker 1: you know. I think it's so important and people like
- 28:41Speaker 1: do people ask you this, like, dude, do you get nervous?
- 28:43Speaker 1: Like I get uh, I don't get nervous, like I get.
- 28:49Speaker 3: Anticipation.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a great word. I don't know I'm gonna
- 28:52Speaker 1: start saying that because I was like, I don't really
- 28:53Speaker 1: have an answer because I care and I want to
- 28:56Speaker 1: do well, and I get like this, it's anticipation, it's
- 28:58Speaker 1: not nerves. Person.
- 29:00Speaker 3: I think, once you stop feeling something, really you're doing
- 29:04Speaker 3: the wrong thing, no matter what it is. I'm sure
- 29:07Speaker 3: you feel that whenever you get on one of those
- 29:09Speaker 3: horses with a gun in your hand.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Yeah, not feeling anything, this is crazy. I'm still feeling
- 29:18Speaker 1: all those feels for a while.
- 29:20Speaker 3: I'm sure I don't know if that'll ever go away, right,
- 29:23Speaker 3: because you know you're not in control of the horse,
- 29:25Speaker 3: and it's.
- 29:26Speaker 1: No, it's not up to you. And I think that's
- 29:27Speaker 1: why I like it, because I I've grown to trust
- 29:31Speaker 1: me in my gig, like I trust me, I trust
- 29:34Speaker 1: my band, But mostly it's up to me. Like I'm
- 29:36Speaker 1: the one stating there for the microphone, and I know
- 29:39Speaker 1: my capabilities and I know what I can deliver on
- 29:45Speaker 1: a hobby like golf, I'm like, I don't know what
- 29:47Speaker 1: the hell's about to happen when I sing this car,
- 29:50Speaker 1: This is not up to me right, this little time
- 29:53Speaker 1: of bitch isn't moving and I can't hit it. It's
- 29:57Speaker 1: just like I don't know. And the same thing with
- 29:59Speaker 1: the horse. It's like up to my horse, not it's
- 30:01Speaker 1: not up to me. I can aim and I can
- 30:03Speaker 1: have the skill and be learning how to ride. But
- 30:06Speaker 1: it's about him, you know.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Yeah, it's cool Shooting that's his name with He's cool.
- 30:15Speaker 3: That's a great Morris Day in the Time song. Yeah,
- 30:17Speaker 3: you never heard that song? Cool?
- 30:18Speaker 1: Oh it's great, So I need to hear it. We
- 30:20Speaker 1: have a theme song. I didn't know it.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll give her some of that. We'll have to
- 30:24Speaker 3: cut this out otherwise we'll get removed from YouTube. But
- 30:27Speaker 3: play Morris Day in the Time Cool. This is like
- 30:30Speaker 3: during the Prince days. Mars Day in the Time, I
- 30:33Speaker 3: think is like one of the most underappreciated bands from
- 30:36Speaker 3: that era from like the early nineties, because they got
- 30:39Speaker 3: kind of eclipsed by Prince, you know, because they were
- 30:43Speaker 3: hanging around with Prince and they were part of like
- 30:45Speaker 3: the whole Prince.
- 30:46Speaker 1: I don't know anything.
- 30:47Speaker 3: You don't know what Day in the Time, I don't,
- 30:49Speaker 3: Oh my god, Play Cool by Morris Day in the Times.
- 30:55Speaker 1: I got a version that says it's just Morris Day,
- 30:58Speaker 1: and then another version popped up that said it was
- 31:00Speaker 1: it's just the Time.
- 31:00Speaker 3: So either way, it's always going to be Morris Day,
- 31:03Speaker 3: saying I don't think the Time ever played without Morris.
- 31:07Speaker 3: Morris as cool as fuck though here it is all right,
- 31:11Speaker 3: we'll edit this out for people at home. Sorry, go
- 31:14Speaker 3: find this awesome. Oh it's so corny, it's so great,
- 31:20Speaker 3: it's so.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Like you liked.
- 31:23Speaker 3: I don't know. It's gotta be early nineties, right, ninety one,
- 31:27Speaker 3: eighty one, eighty one, Wow, that's crazy. Nineteen eighty one. Wow,
- 31:34Speaker 3: I was a freshman in high school.
- 31:36Speaker 1: I'm an eighty three baby.
- 31:38Speaker 3: I was in my junior year or sophomore. Yeah, I
- 31:42Speaker 3: was a freshman in high school back then. That's crazy. Wow.
- 31:46Speaker 3: There's a weird time back then because Prince was so
- 31:50Speaker 3: big that there was like a bunch of fake princes,
- 31:52Speaker 3: like people started imitating Prince. It's almost like a.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Lot of always what happens.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Yeah, may become androgynous.
- 31:59Speaker 1: There's one and then of like, oh, let's all be
- 32:01Speaker 1: like that one. So there's twenty more than is good.
- 32:04Speaker 3: I know. Yeah, there's a bunch of fake Michael Jackson's
- 32:06Speaker 3: I'm sure there was a bunch of people that just
- 32:08Speaker 3: tried to do something like what is he? How what's
- 32:12Speaker 3: that guy doing? You know? And with Prince it was
- 32:14Speaker 3: like what is this? What's happening here?
- 32:16Speaker 1: Very like very uniquely authentic, Yeah, authentically himself like that.
- 32:22Speaker 1: So even that was like trying to be too close,
- 32:25Speaker 1: probably a little bit, you know what I mean?
- 32:27Speaker 3: Yeah, not as good, that's the problem. You're not as
- 32:30Speaker 3: good as Prince. You're awesome, you're great, Yeah, but your
- 32:33Speaker 3: Prince is like a once in a generation superstar weirdo
- 32:37Speaker 3: talent from Mars exactly.
- 32:39Speaker 1: There are those, there's some that just aren't from here.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Yeah, right. That guy was just different than everybody, you know.
- 32:45Speaker 3: I remember I was delivering newspapers when I first heard
- 32:48Speaker 3: a print song and I was like, this is crazy,
- 32:51Speaker 3: Like who is this guy? It was I Want to
- 32:54Speaker 3: be your lover? Do you remember that? Oh fucking song?
- 32:57Speaker 3: And it was like, this is a guy singing like
- 33:01Speaker 3: a girl on stage, He's like three feet tall and
- 33:03Speaker 3: all the women want to fuck him, Like this is nuts.
- 33:06Speaker 3: I've never seen anything like this in my life.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Technique, Like what.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Did this guy do?
- 33:10Speaker 2: This?
- 33:10Speaker 3: Guy's a sorcerer, like what. He was so talented that
- 33:14Speaker 3: he could wear stilettos on stage and no one cared.
- 33:17Speaker 3: And it wasn't like, boo, what do you dressing like
- 33:21Speaker 3: a girl? No one gave a fuck. He was so
- 33:24Speaker 3: good And so there's something about the magnetic personality that
- 33:29Speaker 3: he had that was like the charisma that he had
- 33:31Speaker 3: was like so undeniable that everybody was like, holy shit,
- 33:34Speaker 3: what is this.
- 33:35Speaker 1: That's not taught, that's inn that's you're born with that you.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Can't teach, Prince, how do you teach that?
- 33:41Speaker 1: No, you don't like you grew up in Jersey, right.
- 33:45Speaker 3: I was born in New Jersey, but I only lived
- 33:47Speaker 3: there twelve six.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Where you grow up?
- 33:49Speaker 3: I grew up everywhere. I lived in San Francisco from
- 33:51Speaker 3: seven to eleven. I lived in Gainesville, Florida. From eleven
- 33:56Speaker 3: to thirteen. That's a movie, a lot of moving, and
- 33:59Speaker 3: then I lived in Boston and from thirteen to twenty four.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Then I lived in New York.
- 34:03Speaker 1: New York.
- 34:03Speaker 3: For three years. No I live I couldn't afford parking,
- 34:07Speaker 3: so I had to live outside of the city. Because
- 34:09Speaker 3: I'm a comedian. I had a drive everywhere. I had
- 34:11Speaker 3: a lot of road gigs. That's where I made my money. Yeah,
- 34:14Speaker 3: so to drive to Connecticut and Rhode Island. Like in
- 34:16Speaker 3: the city, it was like a parking spot was hundreds
- 34:18Speaker 3: of dollars a month. So I lived in New Rochelle.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Okay cool. My husband is upd He retired after eight years,
- 34:27Speaker 1: but because I drug him down to Tennessee and now Texas.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Nice. Now he says, y'all, does he? He said, y'all?
- 34:33Speaker 3: And ironically, how long has you been there?
- 34:36Speaker 1: We've been married seven years after five Yeah.

- 36:10Speaker 1: But I got to live up there when we first
- 36:12Speaker 1: got married. We had an apartment, soho and I'm from
- 36:15Speaker 1: like bf e Lyndell, Texas, like you know, Dallas is
- 36:20Speaker 1: our biggest city and it's eighty miles So I had
- 36:25Speaker 1: so much fun. Like I just he was still a cop,
- 36:27Speaker 1: so I just wandered around all day, like I had
- 36:29Speaker 1: gigs on the weekends, but like Monday through Wednesday, I'm
- 36:31Speaker 1: just like Desperate Housewives of Soho running around and like
- 36:36Speaker 1: going to rock clubs by myself and having lunch by
- 36:39Speaker 1: myself and having wind meet people, and it's just it's
- 36:42Speaker 1: a city that like nobody cares who you are at all.
- 36:45Speaker 3: They're just like it's an amazing city. It's amazing if
- 36:49Speaker 3: you like cities.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I like visiting six months was I
- 36:53Speaker 1: got my Phil. I loved to get were there a
- 36:56Speaker 1: ton because his family's still there. But I just I enjoyed,
- 37:00Speaker 1: like really immersing because I've never done that and I'm
- 37:04Speaker 1: not really a city girl. But I was like, I'm
- 37:05Speaker 1: just going to use every bit of this that I can.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Wrote some great songs, like wrote one called fire escape.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I don't even know what that was before, you know
- 37:13Speaker 1: what I mean, what's a fire escape? Should walk out
- 37:16Speaker 1: the door, you know, So it was it was cool.
- 37:20Speaker 1: It was cool time, but.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Well, that would be a great place to like rewire
- 37:23Speaker 3: your brain creatively to write stuff because you're forced in
- 37:28Speaker 3: a totally different environment. Yeah, and the weirdest environment on Earth.
- 37:31Speaker 3: In my opinion, I think the weirdest environment on Earth
- 37:33Speaker 3: for human beings is when they're stacked on top of
- 37:35Speaker 3: each other in cities, because I don't think that's normal
- 37:38Speaker 3: at all.
- 37:38Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 37:39Speaker 3: I think your whole body just goes like you're always
- 37:42Speaker 3: at three or four all day long, always never at zero.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Yes, my husband just now, like we literally talked about yesterday.
- 37:49Speaker 1: I was like, you are finally like at a regulated
- 37:55Speaker 1: nervous system level, because it just I think it was
- 37:58Speaker 1: just used to like just you have to vibrate at
- 38:01Speaker 1: a different energy, especially if you're a police officer, Like
- 38:04Speaker 1: that's a whole different oh, you know what I mean.
- 38:06Speaker 1: And so finally, like we have a farm in Tennessee
- 38:09Speaker 1: and we're there for like a couple of days this
- 38:11Speaker 1: week and just chilling, making cookies and being normal, and
- 38:15Speaker 1: it's like he's finally like enjoying that because even when
- 38:18Speaker 1: I had my little time in New York City, I
- 38:20Speaker 1: was like, this is a it's a lot of like
- 38:22Speaker 1: I couldn't do this twenty four to seven for long
- 38:25Speaker 1: periods of time because I just can't come down and
- 38:27Speaker 1: like ground myself, right, I need to touch grass.
- 38:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I do too. Being a cop in New York
- 38:34Speaker 3: City has got to be like one of the most
- 38:36Speaker 3: stressful jobs in the history of the world.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so.
- 38:39Speaker 3: That's I mean, that's right up there, like below being
- 38:41Speaker 3: a soldier in war, like being a cop. I mean,
- 38:44Speaker 3: I have friends that are cops or that were cops
- 38:47Speaker 3: that will tell you that the people that are working
- 38:50Speaker 3: in the field, like as police officers, and they're going
- 38:55Speaker 3: and seeing things on a daily basis, they're seeing way
- 38:59Speaker 3: more carnage, way more fucked up things than these guys
- 39:02Speaker 3: who would serve. They were both, they did both. They
- 39:05Speaker 3: were like, I saw way more as a cop than
- 39:07Speaker 3: I ever did.
- 39:08Speaker 1: It makes sense, it's a lot. I mean, his whole
- 39:10Speaker 1: family police officers. My whole family is firemen and police
- 39:14Speaker 1: officers too, So I can't think that was kind of
- 39:15Speaker 1: our bond anyways, just kind of we grew up exactly
- 39:18Speaker 1: the same, just in different parts of the country.
- 39:20Speaker 3: But why I was around a lot of cops when
- 39:22Speaker 3: I was a kid because of martial arts, we're always
- 39:25Speaker 3: training with cops and you know, listen to stories that
- 39:28Speaker 3: they would tell me about, like things that they got into,
- 39:30Speaker 3: and they were getting into things like that at like
- 39:32Speaker 3: on a daily basis. There's always shootouts, there was always
- 39:35Speaker 3: car wrecks, there was always murders and domestic violence cases.
- 39:39Speaker 3: And it's like, man, how many of those guys are
- 39:41Speaker 3: just walking around with severe PTSD and no one cares,
- 39:46Speaker 3: No one respects.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I'm talking about it, and like they're just you know,
- 39:49Speaker 1: I think that, like they don't even acknowledge it themselves.
- 39:52Speaker 1: Like I know, my dad worked vice in Dallas for
- 39:55Speaker 1: his whole career and m and back in the day,
- 39:58Speaker 1: like my it has been like they just don't and
- 40:01Speaker 1: then they just come home and like, you know.
- 40:03Speaker 3: I'd kill my hearing aids too.
- 40:07Speaker 1: He's like to doggate it.
- 40:08Speaker 3: I guarantee you that he put peanut butter on that
- 40:11Speaker 3: fucking thing.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Your dog reclaimer. We know what you did, now, peanut butter.
- 40:18Speaker 1: That's just wrong. It's just wrong so many ways.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Yeah, man, he probably needed piece quiet.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Yeah, he needs mom to hush.
- 40:26Speaker 3: Yeah, everybody shut the fucking world off. You know. The
- 40:30Speaker 3: one of the greatest pool players, if not the greatest
- 40:31Speaker 3: pool player of all time is deaf is a guy
- 40:34Speaker 3: named Shane Van Boning and he shuts his hearing it
- 40:36Speaker 3: off when he plays.
- 40:38Speaker 1: So it's just silent.
- 40:39Speaker 3: Yeah, just fucking world, and he's just in. It's like
- 40:42Speaker 3: people could be screaming in the crowd and he doesn't
- 40:44Speaker 3: hear ship.
- 40:44Speaker 1: What is it about pool? Like, what's the what you said?
- 40:47Speaker 1: You play pool? You like it?
- 40:48Speaker 3: I've been playing pool for thirty five years. Yeah, I've
- 40:51Speaker 3: been playing forever.
- 40:51Speaker 1: But what is it about that?
- 40:53Speaker 3: Particularly because the balls don't give a fuck who you are.
- 40:58Speaker 3: They don't care what you think you are. They don't
- 41:01Speaker 3: care who you know, how much money you have, well,
- 41:04Speaker 3: you know what you've accomplished already, how many shots you've
- 41:06Speaker 3: already made. The balls don't care. The pockets are four
- 41:10Speaker 3: and a quarter inches wide, and if you don't hit
- 41:12Speaker 3: it perfect, it doesn't go in. And it requires all
- 41:15Speaker 3: of your concentration. And if you really know how to
- 41:18Speaker 3: play pool, then you're dealing with like English. So you're
- 41:22Speaker 3: dealing with like spin on the cue ball left and right,
- 41:25Speaker 3: and you're dealing with draw and follow. It's a dance
- 41:28Speaker 3: of the mind and these orbs. You're hitting a ball
- 41:32Speaker 3: into another ball and trying to get that thing to
- 41:35Speaker 3: go straight. And it just requires this complete harmony of
- 41:40Speaker 3: hand eye coordination and your spirit, like you have to
- 41:44Speaker 3: like stay calm while you're doing it.
- 41:47Speaker 1: That's why it's very that's a very good explanation of that.
- 41:51Speaker 1: I'm the worst. I mean, you would think, like playing
- 41:56Speaker 1: as many honky tonks as I have played, that I
- 41:59Speaker 1: could play pool.
- 42:00Speaker 3: Most people that think they can play pool can't play pool.
- 42:03Speaker 3: And most people don't know really how to play pool.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Like back in my day it was like just a
- 42:08Speaker 1: place to flirt.
- 42:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it's that. The thing about pool is once you
- 42:13Speaker 3: get down the road and you start understanding, you get
- 42:17Speaker 3: you really start getting the game and understanding and then
- 42:19Speaker 3: playing in tournaments and then gambling. Then you're dealing with
- 42:22Speaker 3: like real pool players. And these real pool players play
- 42:26Speaker 3: pool eight hours a day, wow, every day. You have
- 42:29Speaker 3: to because you know, have the thing of like being
- 42:31Speaker 3: comfortable on stage, or being comfortable riding a horse, and
- 42:34Speaker 3: being comfortable like shooting a bow or or playing golf.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Multiply that at times one hundred and you have pool.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Because pool is the only game where you take a
- 42:45Speaker 3: stick and you hit a ball into another ball. Every
- 42:47Speaker 3: other game you hit a ball. You just hit a
- 42:50Speaker 3: ball with a stick, but in pool, you're hitting a
- 42:53Speaker 3: ball into a ball and controlling the movement of both balls,
- 42:58Speaker 3: like the one that's hitting the ball, controlling how it
- 43:00Speaker 3: spins off to get perfect position on the next shot,
- 43:04Speaker 3: and then the other one you want to make sure
- 43:05Speaker 3: that gets the exact right angle to go into the pocket,
- 43:08Speaker 3: while you're like calculating all the spin and the geometry
- 43:12Speaker 3: of the table and avoiding collisions.
- 43:15Speaker 1: It's madening, like I just got anxiety.
- 43:18Speaker 3: It's madening, stressed. It drive you crazy. It's a game
- 43:21Speaker 3: that will drive you crazy. But when you catch it.
- 43:25Speaker 3: There's a thing called being in stroke and being in
- 43:28Speaker 3: dead stroke. It's a rare thing. It happens, like, you know,
- 43:33Speaker 3: once a month or something like that, where you just
- 43:35Speaker 3: can't miss where you know where everything is, and it's
- 43:40Speaker 3: just like calm that comes over, like the world dissolves
- 43:45Speaker 3: and all you feel is the table and you're completely
- 43:51Speaker 3: in sync with the movement of the balls. You know
- 43:53Speaker 3: how many revolutions each ball is going to make you
- 43:56Speaker 3: feel the difference between two extra revolutions, like you know
- 44:01Speaker 3: where how hard to hit it exactly, And that's what
- 44:05Speaker 3: everybody's chasing. They're chasing this feeling of being because it's
- 44:09Speaker 3: so hard to get there, you'd probably get I'd probably
- 44:12Speaker 3: get there all the time if I played like a pro,
- 44:14Speaker 3: like eight hours a day, you probably get there once
- 44:16Speaker 3: a week. But nobody stays there.
- 44:18Speaker 1: But that's probably the draw that keeps you coming back.
- 44:20Speaker 3: Yeah, dudes do drugs just so they can get there.
- 44:23Speaker 3: They get hooked on pills, they get because they find
- 44:26Speaker 3: that like maybe it's amphetamines, maybe it's opiate's, whatever it is. Like,
- 44:31Speaker 3: some guys will do drugs and find that spot and
- 44:34Speaker 3: then go back to drugs just to get to that
- 44:36Speaker 3: spot from pool. From pool. Yeah, Oh, it's a nutty game.
- 44:41Speaker 1: I mean, I've never never dug into it like that.
- 44:44Speaker 3: But oh, at the highest levels, guys are gambling from
- 44:48Speaker 3: hundreds of thousands of dollars in these fucking weird places
- 44:51Speaker 3: in Kentucky and weird pool hall and they streaming online
- 44:54Speaker 3: on YouTube, They're streaming on different websites. Oh, it's at
- 44:59Speaker 3: the highest level. It is a crazy game. It's a
- 45:02Speaker 3: crazy game.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Well I never knew that, but I learned a lot
- 45:05Speaker 1: about that.
- 45:06Speaker 3: I know a dude is one of the best in
- 45:07Speaker 3: the world. And he can't travel because he needs pills
- 45:10Speaker 3: because he's so he can't go like overseas, he can't
- 45:13Speaker 3: go anywhere. He can't travel without his pills. If he does,
- 45:15Speaker 3: he won't play white.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Really.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Oh it's nuts.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it's ahead game.
- 45:21Speaker 3: Oh it's it's This is my friend Jeremy Jones, who
- 45:24Speaker 3: won the US Open when greatest players of all time,
- 45:27Speaker 3: He's like, it is the most and he plays everything.
- 45:29Speaker 3: He played baseball like at a high level. He plays
- 45:32Speaker 3: golf plays He's like, it is the most mental game.
- 45:34Speaker 3: And really it's why nobody's good at it. And that's
- 45:36Speaker 3: why it never gets to it never got to a
- 45:38Speaker 3: place where it was like really appreciated professionally because you
- 45:43Speaker 3: have to know how to play it to be to
- 45:45Speaker 3: understand what you're seeing. To really see people play well,
- 45:48Speaker 3: you have to know what's happening.
- 45:51Speaker 1: I don't. I'd never I'm not like good at any
- 45:53Speaker 1: I've not played sports, so I'm not good at them.
- 45:55Speaker 3: No sports at all.
- 45:56Speaker 1: I didn't really, I mean I grew up kind of
- 45:58Speaker 1: playing softball here and there, golf like the first because
- 46:01Speaker 1: my first and my amount of shooting, which is technically
- 46:04Speaker 1: labeled a.
- 46:05Speaker 3: Sport that's a sport for sure.
- 46:08Speaker 1: So that's like it's new to me, like sports are
- 46:11Speaker 1: new because I just I don't know. I started this
- 46:13Speaker 1: at seventeen and didn't and just with laser focus, like
- 46:17Speaker 1: worse with blinders doing country music.
- 46:19Speaker 3: And then what is it like going from just being
- 46:22Speaker 3: a regular high school kid and all of a sudden
- 46:25Speaker 3: seventeen just being thrust into a spotlight.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Well, I wasn't in the spotlight at first. I was
- 46:32Speaker 1: playing shitholds with no lights.
- 46:35Speaker 3: There's some kind of light.
- 46:38Speaker 1: Light, yeah, the full delight. I don't know, Like I
- 46:42Speaker 1: just I don't know. I feel like that I didn't
- 46:46Speaker 1: have a choice. It picked me, like it's the only
- 46:49Speaker 1: thing I've ever been good at. Everything is hard, everything
- 46:52Speaker 1: else is hard to me, but like music was the
- 46:55Speaker 1: only thing that I was like, I guess that's what
- 46:57Speaker 1: I'm supposed to do because I'm actually good at it.
- 46:59Speaker 3: Like than though so many people have a thing like
- 47:03Speaker 3: that and they say, oh, that's just unrealistic. I can't
- 47:06Speaker 3: do that.
- 47:07Speaker 1: I didn't have a backup plan that helped. There was
- 47:10Speaker 1: I barely graduated high school. I was like, I don't
- 47:12Speaker 1: want to waste my dad's money. That does help going
- 47:14Speaker 1: to college, I was like, I have no backup plan,
- 47:17Speaker 1: so like it really does help. The hunger that it
- 47:20Speaker 1: creates is like a fire that you can't.
- 47:23Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's not good advice. I would never give
- 47:27Speaker 3: the advice. I don't have a backup plan because some
- 47:29Speaker 3: people are not going to make it and then they'll
- 47:31Speaker 3: blame you. You know, you told me I shouldn't have a
- 47:34Speaker 3: backup plan. But I really think that for someone who's
- 47:38Speaker 3: got some talent and some a real desire to do
- 47:41Speaker 3: that and you can stay the course, you could deal
- 47:44Speaker 3: with the hard times, Like you can't have a backup plan.
- 47:47Speaker 3: You cannot because that backup plan will rob your time. Yeah,
- 47:51Speaker 3: that's the thing you have to think of. It robs
- 47:53Speaker 3: your focus, It steals from your energy, so it'll stop
- 47:58Speaker 3: you from reaching your full potential. Fuck your backup plan.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, but it didn't come from me.
- 48:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it comes from me. Fuck your backup plan.
- 48:06Speaker 1: I don't want to get blamed, but I just think
- 48:08Speaker 1: that's like the reason that it happened is a lot
- 48:12Speaker 1: of hard work, obviously, and determination, but just nothing else.
- 48:18Speaker 1: I have nothing else. Like I was terrible at school,
- 48:21Speaker 1: terrible at sports. How to get tutoring how to like
- 48:25Speaker 1: stay late for the cheerleading dance, Like everything was just
- 48:27Speaker 1: hard for.
- 48:27Speaker 3: Me, right, But that's just because you're a great singer,
- 48:31Speaker 3: Like that's where your mind works. Like it's just such
- 48:35Speaker 3: a wonderful thing that you found the thing that you're
- 48:38Speaker 3: really good at. Because some people, some people don't. They
- 48:42Speaker 3: just don't know why. Then they suck at school. They
- 48:44Speaker 3: don't know why they can't pay attention, they don't know
- 48:46Speaker 3: why they can't be at work on time. They don't
- 48:48Speaker 3: know why. They're like, what's wrong with me? And if
- 48:51Speaker 3: maybe that person just found that thing and they're like,
- 48:54Speaker 3: oh my god, I'm supposed to be riding horses and
- 48:56Speaker 3: shooting balloons.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Exactly here I am. I have found me. Yeah. I
- 49:01Speaker 1: think it's I feel like we're the lucky ones when
- 49:04Speaker 1: we get to like we know, like this is this
- 49:07Speaker 1: is what I'm supposed to do. This is what I'm
- 49:10Speaker 1: gonna chase no matter what it costs. And you know
- 49:13Speaker 1: that doesn't I see so many people that are so
- 49:17Speaker 1: immensely talented that just didn't happen for Yeah, and you
- 49:21Speaker 1: don't and you don't know why, like the why you
- 49:23Speaker 1: said it, You don't know if it was one little
- 49:25Speaker 1: factor of a period in their life or just not
- 49:28Speaker 1: seeing at the right time or chasing the right thing
- 49:31Speaker 1: at the right time. And I don't know, I feel
- 49:34Speaker 1: very thankful for that. But I'm also like trying to
- 49:38Speaker 1: learn new things at forty because I spent my whole
- 49:41Speaker 1: adult life doing that, you know what I mean. So
- 49:44Speaker 1: now I'm like, what can we do next? Let's find
- 49:46Speaker 1: another hobby.
- 49:47Speaker 3: But that's a great approach though. That's great. I mean,
- 49:50Speaker 3: it's recognizing you want to have some more stuff in
- 49:52Speaker 3: your life. It's interesting.
- 49:54Speaker 1: I think that this has come. I don't know, does
- 49:55Speaker 1: that come with.
- 49:56Speaker 3: Like wisdom with age?
- 49:58Speaker 1: Age wisdom and also feeling accomplished. I mean I feel
- 50:01Speaker 1: like I set my goals, hit them. Yeah, you know
- 50:05Speaker 1: when that feels like, oh okay, I can take a breath.
- 50:07Speaker 3: Yeah, that's got to be a part of it, right,
- 50:09Speaker 3: that's got to be a part of it. It's got
- 50:11Speaker 3: to be a part that you know, you can relax
- 50:13Speaker 3: a little, like not that you know you will you
- 50:16Speaker 3: know when it comes to like writing and singing and stuff,
- 50:19Speaker 3: but at least you don't have to worry, like, am
- 50:22Speaker 3: I going to make it? Like I kind of made it.
- 50:25Speaker 1: Yeah, so fun.
- 50:27Speaker 3: Yeah, and what'sappointing. The whole idea of making it is
- 50:30Speaker 3: like your life will be better and you'll have well,
- 50:33Speaker 3: your life will be better if you have more fun. Yeah,
- 50:35Speaker 3: like to find some stuff you like to do.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Exactly. You seem like somebody that chases a lot of
- 50:39Speaker 1: new things and conquers them, which I think is really inspiring.
- 50:42Speaker 3: Well, I chase things that you can never conquer. That's
- 50:44Speaker 3: that's the key.
- 50:46Speaker 1: And no one told me that until I started playing golf,
- 50:48Speaker 1: and now it's too late.
- 50:50Speaker 3: Yeah, well you can never win. For me. It started
- 50:53Speaker 3: with martial arts. You never conquer that. There's always going
- 50:56Speaker 3: to be somebody better than you, especially if you're not
- 50:57Speaker 3: a professional.
- 50:58Speaker 1: You get really really good at the things that you're pursuing.
- 51:02Speaker 3: But it's probably illness. I think something wrong with me.
- 51:07Speaker 3: I'm for sure. If I was born at a different time.
- 51:10Speaker 3: I was born in the sixties. They didn't really diagnose
- 51:12Speaker 3: kids with ADHD when I was a kid, and we
- 51:14Speaker 3: both had them up one hundred. I got it. Whatever
- 51:19Speaker 3: that fuck it is, it's a superpower. It's a superpower
- 51:22Speaker 3: if you use it right.
- 51:23Speaker 1: I think so too.
- 51:24Speaker 3: Yeah, just the idea that you have to medicate a
- 51:27Speaker 3: kid because you can't sit in school, Like, find out
- 51:29Speaker 3: that kid's good at other stuff. Find out if there's
- 51:31Speaker 3: a thing that yeah, okay, maybe they can't sit there
- 51:33Speaker 3: with someone's teaching the math. Maybe they get bored real quick,
- 51:36Speaker 3: maybe they start talking to her friends. Whatever it is,
- 51:39Speaker 3: they probably have a thing they're really good at. If
- 51:42Speaker 3: they could find that thing. I bet they're focused like
- 51:44Speaker 3: a motherfucker when they're playing video games, right, So what's
- 51:47Speaker 3: that all about? You know, find the thing that that
- 51:50Speaker 3: kid can lock into. The thing is like you make
- 51:54Speaker 3: people do things that are completely unnatural. You make people
- 51:58Speaker 3: sit down when they're sick in a chair. Why some
- 52:02Speaker 3: lady who's making thirty five thousand dollars a year doesn't
- 52:04Speaker 3: like kids, is teaching them some shit that she doesn't
- 52:07Speaker 3: care about. So there's no energy in the room everything.
- 52:11Speaker 3: And then when they're out in the yard, but their
- 52:12Speaker 3: friends are having fun and they're laughing and h so
- 52:16Speaker 3: they're looking there's well shit, just class socks and they're
- 52:19Speaker 3: talking to each other and then they get in trouble for talking, like, uh,
- 52:23Speaker 3: your child's a problem? Is the child really the problem?
- 52:26Speaker 3: Seems like the child has a lot of energy. That's
- 52:28Speaker 3: not a problem. Yeah, you're just you're not providing an
- 52:31Speaker 3: inspiring environment for a growing mind, just turning you into
- 52:36Speaker 3: adul drone some worker that just is capable of like
- 52:40Speaker 3: shutting themselves off all day and then showing up and
- 52:44Speaker 3: then just doing some stuff that they don't want to
- 52:46Speaker 3: do because they were taught how to do it when
- 52:47Speaker 3: they were a kids.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Like blow, I feel like there's a lot more opportunities
- 52:52Speaker 1: now than there was, like even when I was in school.
- 52:55Speaker 1: It's kind of just like Lindell Icd, Like everybody does
- 52:59Speaker 1: learn the same everybody goes to the same class, you
- 53:01Speaker 1: know what I mean. And I just my mom says
- 53:04Speaker 1: I learned differently. She tries to say it, he learned
- 53:08Speaker 1: differently differently, But looking back, it's to say, like you
- 53:11Speaker 1: just described my entire existence as a student.
- 53:14Speaker 3: Well, it's not just yours, it's mine, and I think
- 53:16Speaker 3: it's most people's. You know. The only class that I
- 53:19Speaker 3: really enjoyed was well, science. I always enjoyed science, and
- 53:23Speaker 3: I enjoyed art. I always enjoyed that. But even I
- 53:26Speaker 3: had a shitty art teacher in high school. It was
- 53:28Speaker 3: like like a failed artist who was like really negative,
- 53:32Speaker 3: and he kind of he's kind of ruined hard for me. Yeah,
- 53:37Speaker 3: like not really, but ruined the idea of me doing
- 53:39Speaker 3: it as a profession. I was like, God, I have
- 53:41Speaker 3: to be around people like this. It's guys gross. He
- 53:44Speaker 3: was just like so negative, right, just sad, just a
- 53:47Speaker 3: sad old dude. I always remember like like he ate
- 53:51Speaker 3: a basketball, like his whole body was but his belly.
- 53:55Speaker 3: And now I know, like I probably drank himself to
- 53:58Speaker 3: sleep every night.
- 53:59Speaker 1: Well he was. He was sad as an artist, wrapped
- 54:02Speaker 1: in his own loft, like I mean.
- 54:05Speaker 3: Also, it wasn't that good of an artist. That's part
- 54:07Speaker 3: of the problem. Part of the problem was, well, I
- 54:11Speaker 3: just don't think he was. He had a lot of
- 54:13Speaker 3: fire in him when it came to anything, and I
- 54:17Speaker 3: think the art that he created was a representation of
- 54:21Speaker 3: who he is as a human. And he saw these
- 54:23Speaker 3: young kids that were talented. I was pretty talented. I
- 54:25Speaker 3: was like the third best kid, this kid named Kevin
- 54:29Speaker 3: that was like a little better than me. And then
- 54:30Speaker 3: a kid named John, who's the best guy in our class.
- 54:33Speaker 3: And John told me like like a year or two ago,
- 54:35Speaker 3: we're emailing each other back and forth, and John told
- 54:38Speaker 3: me that that guy gave him an f and I
- 54:40Speaker 3: was like, okay, So it wasn't just me that guy's
- 54:43Speaker 3: a piece of shit, because John was the best artist
- 54:45Speaker 3: like I'd ever seen when I was a teenager, and
- 54:48Speaker 3: we were all like, fuck, this guy's like the art world.
- 54:51Speaker 3: We're out. So none of us became artists.
- 54:53Speaker 1: That's sad.
- 54:54Speaker 3: I was just this that was what this guy wanted.
- 54:57Speaker 3: This guy wanted was to kill dreams.
- 54:59Speaker 1: I feel like so especially in that Like how old
- 55:01Speaker 1: were you.
- 55:02Speaker 3: I was when I quit the classes. I stopped my
- 55:05Speaker 3: senior year, and but by then I was also traveling
- 55:09Speaker 3: and fighting. By then I was That was like when
- 55:12Speaker 3: I heavily got into martial arts. So by the time
- 55:15Speaker 3: I was seventeen, like my whole senior year, I was
- 55:18Speaker 3: traveling around the country.
- 55:19Speaker 1: It's crazy. That's why I started making money playing music.
- 55:23Speaker 3: Senior of high school. Wow. So that must have alienated
- 55:28Speaker 3: you from a lot of your friends.
- 55:29Speaker 1: Yeah, And I mean I was also very big into
- 55:33Speaker 1: church choir and stuff, and so I'm like at the
- 55:35Speaker 1: Honky Talk till four in the morning, besse, I was
- 55:37Speaker 1: the house band, and then I'm like dragging a leg
- 55:40Speaker 1: into church smelling terrible, Like, no, wonder y'all kicked me
- 55:44Speaker 1: out and you throw your assholes. I probably deserved it.
- 55:49Speaker 3: That's hilarious, Like what did you do last night?
- 55:51Speaker 1: Like my mom had to like go with me for
- 55:53Speaker 1: the first like first like three months of my house
- 55:55Speaker 1: gig because I couldn't get into I was eighteen and
- 55:57Speaker 1: I was playing in the house band. So she'd be like, oh, good,
- 56:00Speaker 1: you can drive and I can drink beer and listen
- 56:02Speaker 1: to y'all play all that. But yeah, but it's funny
- 56:05Speaker 1: what you're talking about teachers, Like, I feel like there's
- 56:09Speaker 1: there's some that just really there's that turning point where
- 56:12Speaker 1: you meet that one teacher or someone in your childhood
- 56:15Speaker 1: or high school years that turns things around for you.
- 56:19Speaker 1: I got like, when you're talking about our teacher, I
- 56:21Speaker 1: just teach. Her name is Caldwell and she taught speech
- 56:25Speaker 1: and I was a terrified, literal the shyest kid ever.
- 56:30Speaker 1: My parents are both very vibrant and huge personalities, and
- 56:34Speaker 1: like I couldn't get a word in edgewise, so I
- 56:36Speaker 1: just didn't talk till I was like sixteen because they
- 56:38Speaker 1: just wouldn't shut up. They're just constantly Dad's telling little
- 56:41Speaker 1: cop stories about as five stays and my mom's a PI,
- 56:44Speaker 1: so she's telling all her cool stories and so I
- 56:47Speaker 1: just was really shy. And my little brother was same,
- 56:50Speaker 1: he's five years younger, and like we just weren't very
- 56:52Speaker 1: like vocal, and I somehow got forgot. I didn't pay
- 56:57Speaker 1: attention and didn't put down my classes, you know, like
- 56:59Speaker 1: my junior year of high school and I had got
- 57:02Speaker 1: shoved in a class where there was one spot and
- 57:03Speaker 1: it was speech honors and it was a debate class,
- 57:06Speaker 1: and like that is not my vibe. Well I wasn't panicking.
- 57:11Speaker 1: My mom came up to the school. I was sobbing.
- 57:13Speaker 1: I was like, I can't do this. I don't even
- 57:15Speaker 1: speak hardly, and but I was singing like here and
- 57:18Speaker 1: there I was singing in church, like I could do
- 57:20Speaker 1: it if I was singing, but like still shyly singing,
- 57:24Speaker 1: you know what I mean, like kind of in the background.
- 57:26Speaker 1: And my mom was like, we got to figure this out.
- 57:29Speaker 1: At school was like, well there's not really any room
- 57:32Speaker 1: for her any other classes and whatever, and it was
- 57:35Speaker 1: an honors class. Like this girl was like barely passing
- 57:38Speaker 1: every class except choir, Like.
- 57:40Speaker 3: They just allowed you to enter into that class.
- 57:42Speaker 1: They just somehow. And so then I think, looking back,
- 57:45Speaker 1: like Ms Caldwell and the principal and met with my
- 57:47Speaker 1: mom and she's looked at Miss called On and she
- 57:51Speaker 1: was like can she do this? And she was like
- 57:54Speaker 1: she needs to do this, and so and I had
- 57:57Speaker 1: to debate like against these and real smart kids, right,
- 58:02Speaker 1: and but it really brought me out of my shell.
- 58:04Speaker 1: And so I'm thankful she wasn't like your art teacher.
- 58:07Speaker 1: I'm thankful that Miss Caldwell was like, no, I see
- 58:10Speaker 1: potential in this girl. And if she's gonna because I
- 58:12Speaker 1: sang at the talent show or whatever, she's like, she's
- 58:14Speaker 1: gonna be a singer. She's gonna have to learn me
- 58:16Speaker 1: in front of people, right, and to like show her
- 58:18Speaker 1: personality and come out of her shell. And it really
- 58:22Speaker 1: like changed my world because then I started playing in
- 58:25Speaker 1: bars and I started to like come into my personality
- 58:28Speaker 1: a little bit, because you can't do this if you
- 58:29Speaker 1: don't have if you aren't confident and have confidence in
- 58:34Speaker 1: who you are.
- 58:35Speaker 3: You know, right, and the ability to be who you
- 58:37Speaker 3: are in between.
- 58:38Speaker 1: Songs, that that is a really important part.
- 58:42Speaker 3: Yeah, then that's where people get to see you.
- 58:45Speaker 1: Yeah, so thankful for her. Thanks miss Caldwell, love you.
- 58:48Speaker 3: Damn Miss Caldwell killed it.
- 58:49Speaker 1: She killed it.
- 58:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that's beautiful to have a teacher like that
- 58:53Speaker 3: and anyone can speak the anxiety about the like, oh
- 58:57Speaker 3: I could never public speak, Like, yes you could, you
- 59:00Speaker 3: just it's not impossible. Can you talk to me? Okay,
- 59:03Speaker 3: then you can talk to a bunch of people. You
- 59:05Speaker 3: can do it. You might have to do it a
- 59:07Speaker 3: bunch of times before you figure it out, but it's
- 59:09Speaker 3: not like breathing underwater. You could totally do it.
- 59:12Speaker 1: It's so scary to me, I mean honestly, like, you're
- 59:14Speaker 1: so good at it. Also, comedians like that to me,
- 59:17Speaker 1: is the scariest of all the show biz that you
- 59:20Speaker 1: could pick. Is that.
- 59:21Speaker 3: Yeah, it's one of them.
- 59:23Speaker 1: It's it's that's kind of what I.
- 59:25Speaker 3: Like about it though. I like scary stuff because you'll
- 59:28Speaker 3: have less people doing it, so you'll be That's why
- 59:32Speaker 3: I got into fighting, That's why I got into the
- 59:34Speaker 3: cop It's like, it's it's a it's like if say,
- 59:38Speaker 3: like let's say, if you want to be a lawyer,
- 59:40Speaker 3: people are trying to be a lawyer. Oh my god,
- 59:42Speaker 3: you gotta go to law school. You gotta get a degree,
- 59:45Speaker 3: you gotta pass the bar, you gotta get hired by
- 59:48Speaker 3: some sort of a law firm, and you got to
- 59:51Speaker 3: try cases. And what are you doing? Like a lot
- 59:53Speaker 3: of people trying to be lawyers because there's a clear pathway,
- 59:57Speaker 3: but if the pathway is like foggy, like how do
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: you be a professional fighter? Like, oh, I'll go that pathway?
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: Like no one's doing that, Like the people that are
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: doing that are all crazy, like those are my kind
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: of people. Or if the pathways how to be a
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: comedian like oh yeah, all these people are all misfits.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: This is perfect. These are my people, Like this is perfect.
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: I'll go do that Like this is like I'm in
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: short of being around like minded, interesting people.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a great way to look at it. Well,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: but I just think I always think about how like
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: the first time you step on the stage and you're
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: you know, you're showing all your cards like you might
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: be your first time. Well, but for a comedian, to me,
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: it's like songs. Songs are different like yeah, you know,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: ever the first game you play whatever, everyone has their
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: first time that they're like learning their their ropes and
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: how to get their feet under them. But that's just
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: so raw, Like here's my jokes, here's my whole heart. Yeah,
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: here's I hope. Do you think this is funny? Like that?
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: Just every time I see it, I'm like, that is
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: the hardest thing in joe business.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: The first time I ever did it, I was still fighting,
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: and I'd been done nothing but martial arts competition, like
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: literally eight hours a day for my whole life for
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: six years. And then that I was more scared going
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: on stage at an open mic night than I had
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: ever been fighting.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: Ever, that makes sense to me, but I was confused.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: I was like, why am I scared?
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Like?
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: This doesn't make sense. It was so baffling to me.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: I was like, why am I so nervous?
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: This is? That makes sense to me. It's just it's
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: something you well you you were good at it, but
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: you had to do different people.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: I didn't even think I was good at it. My
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: friends told me I was good at it, and they
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: only told me I was good. It was like we
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: would go to tournaments and everybody be terrified. We'd all
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: be like, like really nervous, and I would be the humor.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: It was gallows humor, so I would be the guy
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: cracking jokes. I'd be the guy doing impressions of each other,
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: like of different different friends, like what they'd be like
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: having sex or whatever it was, and making everybody laugh,
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: saying totally inappropriate stuff. And my friend Steve, who I'm
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: still friends with these days, he was a grown man
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: and I was like fifteen at the time, and to
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: this day he's still one of my best friends. But
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: he told me, he's like, you should be a comedian,
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: like you're funny. It's like, and I was like, you
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: think I'm funny because you like me. I go, but
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: other people get to think I'm an asshole, like my
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: sense of humor's fucked up. And he's like, you should
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: just go to open Mic night, And I did, and
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: I went to open Mic nine and I was like, oh,
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: everybody sucks. Oh this is fine. I was like, you
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: could go to see a few professionals and a few
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: people are just struggling. I thought everybody would be like
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: Jerry Seinfelder, Richard pryor I'm gonna get killed up there.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: This is gonna be terrible. And then I realized, like, oh,
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: this is just like martial arts or anything else. You
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: start off terrible, and then you try and then you
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: get better, and then you figure it out and then
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: you know. It's like but I just wasn't. I was
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: just stunned by how scared I was more than anything.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: Do you remember the first time you ever got on stage,
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: like at a honky talk or Yeah?
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: It was a how old were you? Sixteen? It was
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: a True Value country showdown the Rio Palm on Longview, Texas.
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Yeah, And I was scared to death because I was
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: like the shock kid too. My dad's a songwriter too.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: You're gonna love this copriter.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Dad is a songwriter. He plays guitar, and he had
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: a band, his cop Band on their side gig was
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: all narcs and they were called Contra Band. They were
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: a country band called Contra Band. Can you even.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: That's great?
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: One?
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: That's funny?
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: Yeah? But he wrote songs. So I was like, I'm
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: going to enter this contest. My mom was like shocked.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: I went. I was like working in the yard. She's like,
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: go pick the weeds. I'm like, Mom, there's a add
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: on the radio for a contest called the Truevilla Country
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: show Down, and I want to enter it. She was like,
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: what you don't even talk. You don't you're too shot,
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: Like are you kidding me? And I was like, no,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: I want to do it, and she was like, what
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: are you gonna sing it? You had to sing an
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: original song? And I sang one of my dads.
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: Oh wow, what was the song?
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: It was called gosh, no I canna think of it.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Too many song titles in my head was way too many. Uh,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: here I go again, that's what the time. And so like,
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: because I grew up on like forever, I thought my
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: dad wrote like Mama trod because I grew up with
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: him just playing John Pride and Haggard and David allen
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: Coe and got Clark, you know. So I started to realize, oh,
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: some of these are like my dad's originals and some
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: of those are re all Haggards, so they're not just dads.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: But like I got up there and I got I
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: didn't win, but I it was like my first okay,
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: like like you were just saying it was my first,
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: Like okay, maybe I can. I can do this. Like
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: I'm green and I'm shy, and i'm new and i'm young,
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: but like I I'm not terrible, Like I'm kind of
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: equal with these guys. You know what I mean, we're
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: all babies. Yeah, it was, and it was I don't know.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: I think that's the first time I was like, Okay,
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: I found something that doesn't feel foreign to me. That's
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: not so hard to learn, you know what I mean.
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: Yeah, do you believe in fate?
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: Yeah? I do.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: You probably should, yeah, right, because it worked out.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: That's my bias about fate. Like, if if anybody should
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: believe in fate, it's people like you or I. But
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: I'm not sure. My bias is that I believe in
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: it because it worked out. Yeah, you know. But I
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: mean if your life is shit and you're like, is
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: this fate? Like what did I do in a past life?
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: Like kind of an asshole? Was I that everything just
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: turned out so terrible? You know?
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Well, there's I mean, I don't know. I feel like
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: I also met my husband in like a crazy way,
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: and so I can't help but believe in fate.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: There's something to it.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I believe in it.
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: Yeah, there's something to it. As much as my mind want,
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: my rational mind wants to ignore the possibility, like the
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: randomness of the universe, the size and scope of it all.
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: Do you really think it matters what you do, you
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: really think, but it does to you, right, It has
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: a giant impact on your life, and everything matters. Just
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: because there's black holes doesn't mean you're fucking your homework
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: doesn't matter. You know, everything matters, your whole world, everything matters.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: It's like you can't think that things don't matter like
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: that the universe wouldn't have a plan for your life,
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: but it seems to have a plan for everything. Yeah,
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: I mean all of it seems to be happening for
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: some sort of a very bizarre reason, all of it together.
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: So I'm sure that there's something to fate. But it's
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: just my rational mind wants to go that's just your ego.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: It's like silly, you could have been bored in Somalia.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: You know, life could have sucked for you. You know, it's
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: it's hard to because fate's a weird one, Like you
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: can't measure it, can't put it on a scale. But
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: it seems to be real.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it was real for us, so that it's real.
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: I guess.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: Also, like your ceiling is giving me, Yeah, I love it.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: The little shooting star. Yeah, and you're like, fate is
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: real and it.
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: Is if I don't tell people, I didn't tell you.
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: But sometimes people I love it. They're like, am I
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: having flashbacks? Like what's going on?
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: It's awesome. That's what all about West text is something
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: about like it's just so vast in the middle of
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: nowhere that the stars are they feel like there. We
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: call it the thunderdome. When we like lay in the
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: yard and it just feels like they're you could reach
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: up and grab them because it's so dark out there.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: Yeah, well they're on top of you and you don't
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: have any light pollution.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the thing that ruins the world. Yeah, that's
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: the problem in New York City. That's why everybody's so stupid.
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: They're like so like stuck in their own world just
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: because they don't realize they're in space. You know, you
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: don't get that break. Yeahs a break that you get
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: from space that I don't think you get from anything
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: else where. You just like look up and go, oh yeah, okay,
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: I'm taking all the ship way too. Seriously, Yeah, this
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: is nuts, like.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: Just above us, it totally is. And all. So when
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: you said that made me think of what we were
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: talking about earlier about wisdom and like, I don't know,
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: just kind of reaching some goals and taking a breath
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: and calming down and going okay, everything's okay. It's like
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: I just feel like I saw she started and lost
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: my train of thought. I have adhd.
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: Well. We were talking about spaceship.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: What are you Zenny over there? What are those?
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: These are Lucy's? They're breakers? You do you ever take these?
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: I like you like to hear try these. These these
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: are strong though, they're like.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: What sixes nine? Oh, I'll pass out?
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: Yeah, don't do it.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: I'm not doing it. I'm not doing it.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: This one's not Yeah, these are nines. You got some fours? Oh,
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: chuck me a four?
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: What are what's the Lucy's? Are they different?
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: They have like a little thing inside of them that
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: they're called breakers. So it's like coffee flavored you put
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: in your mouth then uh huh yeah, and you that
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: we'll sucker open. It gives you a little yeah sugar.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: That was like a little cupcake there.
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: Yeah, those are fours, right, So it's not bad. It's nice.
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: That's nice.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: I get it out here, concentrate because.
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: Of the I saw a dude online he got a
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: fifty milligram one from overseas. What Yeah, and he tried it,
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: and you know, he was violently ill, lying on the ground,
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: Like how.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: Would you do that?
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: Well? I think he did it for props, you know,
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: like so he could get some online cred just for
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: the views. Did it for the great work? I mean,
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: I guess I watched it. I wanted to say, I'm like,
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: you're gonna take a fifty Oh you're fuck dude. And
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: he said, oh my god, it's like drinking battery acid
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: and then he was lying on the ground at the
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: end of it, is like, I really fucked up. I
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: made a giant mistake because it's so much nicotine.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: But you're so like so into health and take such
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: good care of yourself, and I what is the bit? What?
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: Like why I just tell people, oh, they're good for you,
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: have one? Well, what do you think, Like, tell me
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: your opinion of these? They're craze.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: Nicotine is not bad for you. The delivery method is
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: what's bad for you. And the delivery method with cigarettes,
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: in particular with cigarettes that have a bunch of chemicals
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: added to them, that's even worse. Like the regular cigarettes
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: like natural cigarettes I bet are probably not as bad
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: for you. Doctor Susanne Humphries is a physician who was
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: on here was explaining to us like why regular cigarettes
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: are not as bad, but there's still it's still not
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: good for you smoking in your lungs. But nicotine itself
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: is not bad. Nicotine itself is neuroprotectant. Nicotine itself acts
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: is a neotropic, so which means it's cognitively enhancing. So
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: nootropics are like vitamins that help brain function, and there's
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: a bunch of them, Like I have some here. We
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: have some stuff called alpha brain. That's great. There's a
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: bunch of companies that make different versions of neotropic but
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: there are there are nutrients that enhance memory and enhance
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: your verbal verbal memory, so your ability to recall words.
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: They can enhance peak alpha flow state, like they've done
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: like real, they've done two double blind, placebo controlled studies
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: at the Boston Center for Memory with alpha brain. It
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: shows more effectiveness than any of the drugs that they
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: had studied over the past like nine months before they
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: did this, Like this is pretty impressive. So nicotine does
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: that too. Nicotine enhances your memory, enhances brain function, enhances,
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: it stimulates you. So there's a lot of benefits to
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: nicotine as us. But the problem is, like how do
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: you take it? How are you taking your nicotine? You know?
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: Probably one of the best ways is maybe come you know,
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: and these things.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: People are wearing patches now and stuff.
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: Fucking crazy people. That's wrong, White, he wears a goddamn patch.
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: What are you doing wrong? I gotta patch on and
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: I'm smoking. He's got a cigar, he's got a zen
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: fucking animal. But he's such an animal. But I think, uh,
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: there's there's real benefit. I know a guy who puts
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: a nicotine patch on for productivity when he writes.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: That makes sense to me. Like I feel like because
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: all the songwriters are, you know, right now it's very
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: body Nashville's sinning and I'm like, oh, I'll try one,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: and it like really does give you a little stimulant. Yeah.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: And I also have a lot of words in my head.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: I need to remember words, and I also need to
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: write new words. Anything to help with.
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: That, anything you want, if you want to help with memory.
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: Alphab brain is a really good one.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna try that because I just think at some
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: point two when you're tired, you know, it's just it
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: feels like you're like you can't. I mean you saw
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: at least my train of thoughts. I don't want to
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: be on like a bunch of adderall and stuff. I
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: want to be on I want to find a different
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: method to like have my brain functioning, get the best
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: it can.
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: These are addictive, though and I gotta say different people
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: have different levels of like how addicted they get with these,
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: Like some people can't not have them. I went on vacation.
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: I said, I'm gonna go on vacation and not bring
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: any and see what happens. See if I freak out
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: just to see and nothing, zero, nothing. It was like
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: I kind of missed them, maybe for a day or two,
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: like wanted one, didn't have any. And then after like
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: three days, I was like, oh, this is fine. It's
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: not it's not like a physical like oh my.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: God, I'm jooning, not like smoking.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: I'm a shaken. Yeah. But I know people that have
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: tried to get off of them that really struggle.
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: I mean it is addicted. I mean it's nicotine.
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: I think the vapes are the hardest to get off of.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: The vapes Like that's I don't want heat o my
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: boy either.
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: Right, Well, vapes aren't really hot, but it is if
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: you buy them. Ones that are like in the gas station,
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: like who knows where are those?
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: Like the ones that heat up?
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: Oh yeah, the crazy ones like that Adam Currige. You
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: know Adam curry Is. He's the first podcaster. He used
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: to be MTV DJ. Yes, beautiful, yes, good, good friend
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: of mine. He carries around one of those robot lunchbox vapes,
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: those big old crazy ones. While you're blowing.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: It's kind of like a power bar on the side
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: of it.
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: It's so ridiculous. And he blows his giant but it's
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: all like he fills it with natural oil, so it's
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: air quotes, healthy quotes.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, but that's what the that's what people say.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: They smoke American spirits.
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it's healthy. Come, how can they get away with that?
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: Is American spirits owned by Native Americans? No, so other
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: fuck that they have a Native American on there not
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: catching his slack? They do, right, don't they haven't.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: It's a badass package path for stuff.
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: So did they? I'm getting into it, Oh, I get
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: into the tobacco company problem.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: He's like, uh of it?
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: Did you ever see that movie The Insider with Russell Crowe.
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: It's about a guy who works for a tobacco company
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: that is explaining he was a chemist news explaining how
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: they added all these different things to make it more addictive,
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: and they're trying to kill him in the film because
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: they don't want that information getting out. He's the insider.
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: It's a kind of crazy movie and based on a
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: true story.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: Yeah, they put a bunch of shit in cigarettes to
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: try to get you hooked.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: Well, then they do it. I mean it works, people.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: It's the hardest one. I feel like it's the most
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: you hear people talking about trying to quit that drinking
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: to me, like you know what I mean, just on
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: the daily, Like I'm in a band. Everybody's like, oh
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: I quit now. They're all like you what a zen?
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: You got a zin? Because it's just highly addictive.
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: I guess it's it is, but it's it's people want something.
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: They just want something to take him out of whatever
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: the state they're in. Give me something, Give me a drink,
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: give me this, give me a coffee. Like everybody I
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: know that's an alcoholics anonymous, they'll smoke or drink tons
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: of coffee. It's either or both, yes, because they just
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: want to do something. Get me Something's not going to
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: make me suck deck for bus fare, but I'm at
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: least get a little bit of something different than regular life.
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: I don't want to be homeless, so I don't want
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: to be cracked out. But give me something. Yeah, give
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: me a little take me away from wherever I am
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: right now.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: Yeah, not that far away, just a little bit away, just.
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: A little next door. Let me go next door and hide.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna start saying that when I'm like, I need
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: to go next door.
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I want to go next door just a little bit.
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: I don't want to go too far away. I can
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: hear everybody sposed.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: To break this little candy.
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: Thing I do. Yeah, I break it right away. It
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: is crack down that little sucker.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: What's in there?
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: Probably candy?
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: Ooh nice, Right, that's like a little burst of little
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: birth of flavor. I like those.
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: I like those. My buddy Duncan found out that his
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: blood sugar goes up when he vapes because he was
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: buying those gas station vapes, and you know he got
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: he got type two diabetes because he was eating too
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: much sugar. He's okay, don't worry, but he realized because
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: he monitors his blood glucose that like when he was vaping,
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: his blood was going through through a Fuggo. Okay, why
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: do you think that is? Like, why do you think
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: it's strawberry flavored? What the fuck do you think's in there? Bro?
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: You're eating candy all day like you're vaping.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: Sugar sugar oils?
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it has to be. Yeah, it has to be.
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: I mean if it's like grape flavored or whatever the
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: hell it is, it's like there's some also who knows
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: what kind of oil they're putting in those damn things,
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: probably made in China or somewhere. I watched a video
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: on TikTok of these dudes testing them. So some dude
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: is just sucking on each one of them to make
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: sure they work at the factory.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: What's gonna happen to him?
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: I don't know what's gonna happen to you because you're
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: sucking on the same one that he was sucking on.
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: Nobody cleans those things off. You just get him at
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: the gas station, stick it right in your mouth.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: It's like a karaoke mic. Yeah that's nasty. Okay, I'm
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: spinning this out.
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: Oh you get rid of it like a buzz Yeah,
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: like a little buzz yeah, a little next you went
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: next door?
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I like that. Excuse me, I'm going next door.
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: Yeah. So anyway, nicodine vapes, I don't think they're good
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: for you, folks, sorry, because people thought they were healthier
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: for you than cigarettes. But it turns out like no,
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: not only they Yeah, here's a state. He's testing all
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: of them, all his cute little pink ones. He's gotta
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: make sure they all work. By the way, how hooked
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: is that guy? That guy must be awful fucking hooked.
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: Where is this taking place? Does it say in the
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: that guy has to test all of them? I would
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: like to see, Like what that guy's look That guy
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: looks like he's fifteen years old. Nos. Seven to eight
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: thousand tests per day.
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: That's terrible.
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: Bro test his lungs because there's a thing called popcorn
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: lung that. The thing about these things is that they're
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: they're very, very addictive. They're more addictive than I think
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: any other delivery method like you just and the thing
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: about nicotine vapes is the first vape of the day
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: is the only one you really want. The first vape
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: of the day. I would take a vape and be
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: like this is wonderful, Like this feeling is wonderful. It's wonderful,
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: and then you chase that dragon and you never get
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: it back until the next day. The rest of the
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: day you're sucking on this thing. Go yeah, nope, nothing,
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: and then I'm not getting it. I'm not getting that
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: wonderful feeling. Yeah, you have to have no nicotine your system,
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: and then you have that one hint it's like, welcome
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: me into your life.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: Do you get like did these people get like that
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: feeling from those patches?
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: I don't think so. I think the patches just make you.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: Like a little adderall.
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: Yeah. It's like, I'm sure people have adderall patches, don't
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: they Do they have an adderall patch? No, adderall is
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: a sketchy one. I had someone here the other day
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: was telling me they were doing adderall right before I
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: did an adderall just so I'm ready.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: It's like it's a writing it's very helpful for writing.
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: Oh, I'm sure.
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: It's like you don't want to I don't want to
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: need it. So that's why I was like, what brain
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: things can I take?
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: Yeah? What are Lucy's what does it say, Jamie, Oh,
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: amphetamine patch? There? It is? Sure are ADHD treatment that
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: lets you control your time, your way. They always say that, like, look,
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: there's a woman who's in control. Look at it, whether
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: her jean jacket on her arms crossed, in control, she's
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: got a control posture. Look at her posture. I'm on
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: a meth patch. I'm in control.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: Please Lord, No, you are.
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: Literally on a drug that will kill your superpower. You
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: got a superpower and you're killing it with a drug
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: so you could focus.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: I definitely don't want a patch of that.
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: Yeah, no, thanks, I don't need it. Maybe somebody needs it.
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: I don't want to judge, but the reality is that stuff,
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: the amphetamines, in any shape or form, are highly addictive,
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: and they're passing them out like candy. My daughter's in
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: high school and a bunch of kids in high school
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: have air quotes ADHD, and because of ADHD they get
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: adderall and then also they get more time on tests
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: because they got ADHD. They can't focus, so they're fucking
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: on speed.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: So, because it's very competitive, parents want to get their
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: kids into colleges. They're they're you know, getting their kids
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: diagnosed so they can get their kids hooked on whatever.
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: They're probably already hooked on too, because a lot of
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: people that are adults are hooked on it. And you
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: can tell those folks because they come to the parent
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: teacher meetings and they can't shut the fuck up and
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: they just want to talk to about everything. Oh my god,
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: they want to corner me and asked me about some
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: episode I did. Oh my god, I love that episode
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: that you do with the kind about climate.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: So cracked out.
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: There's so obviously cracked out, and there's a lot of
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: people out there just running around cracked out because but
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: they feel like they got it from the doctor. The
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: doctor gave me. I'll tell you thirty milligrams. And I'm
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: just a better person and it's better about all tasks, im.
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: I like talk to that person daily, like I feel
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: like those people are everywhere.
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: They're everywhere. Yeah, Well, we looked it up use Perplexity,
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: which is one of our sponsors, and find out how
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: many prescriptions for adderall they wrote in let's say twenty
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: twenty four, Let's take a guess how many. I mean,
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: I could not even involpark that I want to say,
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: forty million I bet it's forty million prescriptions. At least.
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: It's probably a lot more. But I'm going conservative, and
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: I'm saying forty million prescriptions for adderall in twenty twenty four.
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: What do you want? You want to guess? Yeah, take a.
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: Guess forty I have yourself fifty one.
- 1:22:55Speaker 3: Fifty one. You're probably closer. I bet it's like ninety.
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: I bet it's hot. I bet it is because it's
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: like individual people refilling prescriptions.
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: I don't think it's like ninety million patients, but it's
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: a lot. I bet it's all journalists. I fel like
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: most people that are writing things. Yeah, I bet that.
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: What is it? Okay? How many adderall prescriptions were written
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: in twenty twenty four? Quoting POPLEXI, forty five million adderall
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: prescriptions written in the United States. Well, we were both
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: in the middle. What'd you go? Fifty one? Yeah, I
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: said forty commonly prescribed stimulants for conditions such as ADHD
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: and narcolepsi. This number follows several years of notable growth. Huh,
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: it's weird, No more people need it.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: It's up.
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: Yeah. Notable growth data suggests the prescription rates began to
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: decline slightly after a sharp surge during the COVID nineteen
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: pandemic and shortages affected stop twenty nineteen, it was only
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: thirty five Interesting, so it's up ten million. Woo, that's crazy.
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: Forty one point four million and twenty twenty one and
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: forty five million by twenty twenty three. I bet there's
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: a lot of people getting it illegally too, Like what's
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: that number? Okay, let's that's because there was that shortage, right,
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: they've recovered from it. Mm hmmm. Well also once the
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: shortage started, people got dealers.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: Sure, but people are using mushrooms and stuff for that
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: now too.
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: That's a very different thing I've heard.
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: I've heard a lot about that.
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: Yeah, microdosing mushrooms. That's a very different thing than adderall. Yeah,
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: that's like the opposite of adderall.
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: Yeah, even if it's for focus, right, Like, well, I'm.
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: Sure it'll help your focus is on something. Yeah, but
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: you gotta be you got to mind your p's and
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: q's when it comes to your dosages. Also, like where
- 1:24:43Speaker 3: you get scary for me?
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: Like I'm like, where is it from? Like did you
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: just go to the cow pasture? Because that's like what
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: teenager's doing. Hmm. I heard they were doing mushrooms like
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: they're like cow tipping and going im from East Texas.
- 1:24:54Speaker 3: Yeah, well, they definitely found them growing on poop. I
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: mean that's how all humans originally probably discovered psilocybin. They
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: found them on cowpoop. But the thing about that, though,
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: is like you gotta get them from somebody who knows
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: what they're doing. They're they're all different, and you can
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: get some that are crazy strong, Like there's some out
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: there that will knock you into another universe. So what
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: do you do? Are you just eating a cap? Are
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: you paying attention to the are you getting them in
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: pill form? Who are you getting them from? Like I
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: have a friend to get them from a friend, and
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: I was like.
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: It's a good guy.
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: Who's the guys get packaged here super sketch, super sketch,
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: and they are they all It's like marijuana edibles before
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: the legality in California, when it was medical, they'd be
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: it was crazy because now they they because of the
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: regulations in California. I think the most they can make
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: them is ten milligrams, which is normal. It's a normal dose.
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: But before that, when it was medical, like it became
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: medical in the nineties. They would make five hundred milligram
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: Chiba choose these these things that like they're five hundred milligrams,
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: which is insane. It puts you in another dimension.
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: I'd never even heard of that.
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: They're so strong. And my friend Joey, who's a real demon.
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: Joey used to take the wrapper off of twenty five
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: milligram ones and give people a five hundred milligram one instead.
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: Oh he's a real demon anyway, Just laugh because he
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: can he can tolerate insane doses, so he would give
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: people like preposterous amounts.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: I have a songwriter friend and I love her dearly,
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: but whatever she says, do this, I'm like, do a
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: quarter of that. Whatever that is to the public, do
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: yourself the service. Do a quarter of that.
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: Some people have ridiculous tolerance for marijuana.
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it's crazy.
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: Yeah for anything.
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: I'm just over here taking a lucy from a random dude.
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: It's only four million. It wasn't that bad, right, I
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: would never like the nine. I would have told you
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: expect a lot quick. It's a lot. I have twelves.
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: What did you do use those for?
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: Real?
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: Busy days.
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: I don't like them. They joked me too much. But
- 1:27:15Speaker 3: I have them. This is just because Lucy sent them
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: to me. But I think the right doses three or four,
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: that's the right Guy's just a little pick me.
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: Up, just a little, not the cracked out, not the
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: cracked out.
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: Yeah, not the cracked out not. I've never tried out all.
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: I'm scared of it. I want to try it one
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: day because I'm scared of it, because I'm like, I
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: need to know what everybody's fussing about. Because everybody I
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: know that's tried it is like, don't try it, You'll
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: love it.
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: You'll love it. You love it is focus, I mean
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: it is it really honds honds in.
- 1:27:43Speaker 3: I have a buddy of mine and his wife told
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: him to stop because he was snorting it because he
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: was writing that's insane. He's like, that's the best way
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: to get it real quick. And he was like to
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: his wife, He's like, why do you care how I
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: do it? She's like, you're snorting drugs. Why the kids
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: are asleep.
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: He's like, okay, yeah, it's a little far dude. He's
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: not an addict, though, you just feels.
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: He felt like he had to snort to really get
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: the most out of the.
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: Well, everybody, like you said, everybody's trying to find something
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: because I think if you take it as a pill,
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: probably takes an hour before it kicks in.
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: And he didn't have an hour, So he's like, I
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: have a deadline.
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: Yeah, because your friend that disappears, does he like to
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: have he doesn't have phone, no digital no nothing, No
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: wonder if that digital detox is like one of the
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: hardest ones.
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: I feel like it's got to be the hardest.
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: I've done social media detoxes for multiple days and you
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: genuinely feel better, and then you go, why am I
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: doing this to myself? Or I don't do this? I
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: know all the time.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: Something that's annoying, if I can just say it, is
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: that like when people do take a break from social media,
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: that's like all they tell you about the whole time. Well,
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: I'm want to break from social media. I'm like, can
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: you be on a break without telling anybody that you're
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: on a break from social media?
- 1:28:57Speaker 3: Right? They have to tell you how virtuous they are.
- 1:29:00Speaker 3: I am actually gonna break social media, unlike you, you
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: your little addict scrolling through cat videos. Yeah, there's a
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: lot of doom scrolling. Yeah, it's like people who do yoga.
- 1:29:13Speaker 3: They can't shut the fuck up about it.
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: Yeah, people with like a special special, like a special diet, Like,
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: oh yeah, you're hearing about it. You're hearing about it.
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: Vegans are the worst you're going to hear about it.
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: They're the absolutely like no one has ever met a
- 1:29:27Speaker 3: vegan that didn't tell them they're vegan. It doesn't happen.
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: They always tell you. Never they're working into a conversation.
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: Eventually they'll let you know how virtuous they are.
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: It's like, just you can you can not eat meat
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: and not tell anyone.
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: Yeah, just do it as a spiritual gross like just like.
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: Your little secret with yourself.
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: Yeah, you're a little secret with yourself is you're not
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: on social media. Do tell me. My favorite is people
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: who are on social media making fun of people that
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: are on social media, because there's a lot of like
- 1:29:59Speaker 3: really not self aware of people. They're like mocking people
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: that spend all their time on social media while they're
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: making videos on social media.
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: Like that's rich that It overwhelms me, honestly, Like I'm
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: trying to you can't keep up with it, so I
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: just try. I don't try to keep up with it.
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: Like I was just talking on the way here, I
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: was like, maybe I need to get on TikTok's Like
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: there's a lot of music on TikTok, Like there's a
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: lot of musicians, and like, yeah, we have a label
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: now called biglowd Texas our offices in Austin. And I'm like,
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: I know there's an amazing talent on there, and one
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: of our flagship artists, deal In Gossip, posted something awesome
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: on there, and now he's out there crushing it. So
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: I feel like I'm missing out. But then I'm like,
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: do I need one more thing? Like I don't know.
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: It's like this, do you have an assistant.
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: Battle, Yeah, I don't have a great management team.
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: This is great. Get your assistant on TikTok and then
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: tell them to let you know if anything's cool and
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: show it to you.
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: She did that and we signed a guy.
- 1:30:55Speaker 3: You got it.
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: That's what I happened.
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: Perfect that way, you don't have to be on it, right,
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: so you could avoid it and she'll be a net
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: that catches all the good fish.
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: Cameron, it's all you girl, Yeah, it's.
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: All you go. So like she'll catch the good fish.
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: You don't have to go by the river. Yeah, just
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: stay off that TikTok river. I need.
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: I needed that talk today because we just had that
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: talk on the plane on the way here today.
- 1:31:14Speaker 3: Because it's a rage and I'm scared. Yeah, you should
- 1:31:17Speaker 3: be scared.
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: Oh, Like I'm already like ooh. Everything's just a lot
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: of information all the time.
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: For me, it's like a show of force when I
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: leave my phone on the nightstand, when I go to
- 1:31:27Speaker 3: the bathroom, it's like, I'm gonna take a shit without
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: my phone.
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: Do you tell everybody?
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: Nope, see she just told you.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: See good. See you're not one of those I'm on
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: a social media bag. No.
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: My wife has like an app on her phone that
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: shows like how long she's been without social media. Like
- 1:31:45Speaker 3: and if you want to go on social media, you
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: have to go into the app, enter password and open
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: everything up.
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: I think that's so smart.
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and she she showed me the other day,
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: was like ninety hours. I was like, that must feel
- 1:31:54Speaker 3: so good. She like, you feel different. You feel different.
- 1:31:57Speaker 3: It's not good for you, bad for everybody.
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: But we need it, but we for some things.
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I get it. It's great for artists. It's great
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: to turn out your work. It's great for comedians to
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: put clips up. It's great for musicians to put songs
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: out there. It's great. It is great in a lot
- 1:32:12Speaker 3: of ways. I'm so happy it exists.
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: Oh me too. I was stapling my posters to a
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: phone poll when I started like, wow, like I did
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: it old school, like boots on the ground, walking up
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: to the radio station, knocking on the door, saying can
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: I play a song? Like and now? Yes? Like have
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: you ever seen lorete Lyn's life story? Have you ever
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: seen coal Miner's daughter?
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: That, Like me and my mom with the blowney sandwich
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: in my mom's Ford expedition, like driving around all over Texas,
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: me going I'm a singer songwriter like and now I'm like, dang,
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: I'm jealous of the way that people can do it now.
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: Because yeah, but I think you probably developed so much
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: character doing it the way you did it.
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm thankful for that, but I'm also like, well, damn,
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: they just post something like one hundred million people see
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: it in a night, like what's happening?
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: Well, the problem with that is, like sometimes people get
- 1:33:02Speaker 3: fame they're not really ready for yet, And I think
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: doing what you did and going to bars and then
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: eventually becoming famous after years and years of performing and
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: promoting yourself and getting your chops on stage and really
- 1:33:21Speaker 3: settling into yourself, that is so much better than being
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: like a twenty year old kid like sits around and
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: comes up with a song like look at Oliver Anthony.
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: All right, Oliver Anthony's a good friend of mine. Was
- 1:33:31Speaker 3: he was selling fucking farm equipment. He makes that rich
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: Man of North of Richmond song. Yeah, and all of
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: a sudden he's a giant superstar and he's like I
- 1:33:42Speaker 3: had a phone call with him while it was going down,
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: He just like help, Like, I mean, that's crazy.
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: He's like, people are offering me money. I go, don't
- 1:33:51Speaker 3: take any money from anybody. Do not sign with anybody.
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: I go, you don't need anybody. You already did it,
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: all right, You've got talent and you're already famous, right,
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: just made a giant hit song. Don't give away any
- 1:34:02Speaker 3: of you. Yes, don't sell it. You know. He's like, well,
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: they're telling me I got to strike while they aren't.
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: So I'm like, fuck those people. They don't know what
- 1:34:08Speaker 3: they're talking about you could do this again. You can
- 1:34:10Speaker 3: do this again and again and again. Now that you
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: already did, it's gonna be way easier the second time
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: because everybod's gonna be waiting to see what you say next.
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. And that's like also nobody you can't learn.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: It's like you you do the journey in reverse.
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: Well he did. The first show he ever did was
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: a giant sold out, the first time he ever performed live,
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: giant sold out show, when he was already famous.
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: It's so mind bobbing bob. I can't even like put
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: it in the words because I'm thinking, like, how you
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: get your chops and now you you did it fight
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: by fight, You did it stage by stage when during comedy,
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: like it just happened so fast, and it's like and
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: then you still have to pay the dues, but it's
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: just backwards.
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: It's like the thing is though he paid the dues
- 1:34:57Speaker 3: as a regular blue.
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: Collar human needed for sure, and.
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: That's where he developed his character so that when it
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: all came he's like, oh my god, I just stepped
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: into a magic story, right like he had a regular
- 1:35:10Speaker 3: story and then all of a sudden, the genie came
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: along and Abercadabra the Internet and the Internet just put
- 1:35:17Speaker 3: that song out there and there was like, holy shit,
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: this song's great and all of a sudden he's hugely famous.
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: But he had character for being a real.
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: Person seventeen, you know what I mean. Yeah, Yeah, it
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: scares me. I'm just like, we still got to go
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: do the work now. You still got to start to
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: developing who you are now, even though the world already
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: knows who they think you are.
- 1:35:37Speaker 3: You know, it's almost impossible if you start too young.
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: Like we were talking about that with Michael Jackson the
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: other day, that like no one can teach you how
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: to do that, and no one survives that. Everybody who's
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: famous when they're a little kid, they're all fucked up.
- 1:35:52Speaker 3: No one no one gets does.
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: It comes with a really high cost. You can see it.
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: Yeah. I always make the analogy that's like you're making cement,
- 1:36:01Speaker 3: but you don't put the right ingredients in and you
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: can't go back and remix it right, Like if you
- 1:36:06Speaker 3: don't put enough water in or you don't put enough
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: sand in, that cement sucks. It's always gonna be fucked up.
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: And that's what it's like when you're a kid and
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: you get famous, like you didn't allow that person to
- 1:36:16Speaker 3: mix correctly.
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: Right, I think that, Like that's why I'm glad. I
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: you know, I didn't go to college, but I got
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: to have the the learning times of just being seventeen eighteen,
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: nineteen twenty, like just learning life, like while playing music.
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: But it was just kind of in some dive bar somewhere.
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: It wasn't in front of people, you know what I mean.
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: And you get to build your character, you get to
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: figure out who you are. And that's why I think
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: the down by the River and the TikTok River, I've
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: learned two things. Would I refer to it as down
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: by the river? And I need to go next door.
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: The TikTok River. Yeah, it's a raging river too. That's
- 1:36:56Speaker 3: a scariest river. That river never.
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: Stop, it stops, which we're thankful for it too. By
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: the way, Like I found some great talent and learned
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: some really cool recipes and get to talk about rescue dogs.
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: You know, there's the good things about it.
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: There's great things. It's basically a new element of human
- 1:37:12Speaker 3: civilization that we have to contend with that we've never
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: figured out how to. There's no real precedent on how
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: to navigate this, especially as a child. No, children never
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: grew up with it before. These are the first children
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: that are growing up with it, and no one can
- 1:37:28Speaker 3: tell them how to do it right. We can just
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: observe what's going wrong with it. Yeah, it's real sketchy.
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: Yeah it's real weird. And people say to me and like,
- 1:37:37Speaker 3: do you let your kids on social media? I'm like, yes,
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: because they have to be able to handle it and
- 1:37:42Speaker 3: they have to know what it is, but also don't
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: do it. One of my daughters, my youngest, also has
- 1:37:48Speaker 3: that same app on her phone. She never goes on
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: social media anymore.
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: How does she?
- 1:37:51Speaker 3: She's fifteen, so she stays off of it, and she'll
- 1:37:55Speaker 3: watch YouTube. She'll watched YouTube videos and stuff like that.
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: But like social media, she's like, it just does. I
- 1:38:00Speaker 3: don't like it, not going for it, and it gets
- 1:38:02Speaker 3: in the way of school work, and it gets in
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: the way of stuff she's doing. So she stays off it.
- 1:38:06Speaker 3: But she's just wise. If I was fifteen, I'd be fucked.
- 1:38:10Speaker 3: I would be so dumb.
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: Oh no, I don't believe that for a second.
- 1:38:14Speaker 3: Tiktoking all day. I'd have been making all kinds of
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: stupid videos try to get attention. That's also part of
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: the problem is that kids are doing things just to
- 1:38:22Speaker 3: try to get attention, rather than doing things because they
- 1:38:26Speaker 3: really love an art form they're trying to get better at.
- 1:38:29Speaker 3: Like if you make a great song and you're seventeen
- 1:38:31Speaker 3: years old and it goes viral, at least you're doing
- 1:38:36Speaker 3: a thing like you're doing an art you're not just
- 1:38:39Speaker 3: trying to get attention. And there's a lot of people
- 1:38:42Speaker 3: out there that don't have a thing. They're just trying
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: to get attention. If you ask young kids, like what
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: do you want to do when you grow older? You
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: when you grow up? A lot of them, like a
- 1:38:53Speaker 3: giant percentage of them just want to be famous.
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: I was about to say that, like I saw that
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: whatever that study was, and I read about it, and
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: it was like, but for what, Like you just want
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: to be famous? But what skill or what trade or what?
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: You just famous?
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: Why? Kim, Why in the world? Like that sounds awful, well.
- 1:39:16Speaker 3: Because they see cameras going off and people are staring
- 1:39:19Speaker 3: at you, and that's a person that's an important person.
- 1:39:22Speaker 3: You know, a lot of people just want to be
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: an important person. They want to be a person with
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: the nice stuff, like look at the nice house, and
- 1:39:28Speaker 3: look at the nice cars, and look at the nice
- 1:39:30Speaker 3: watch and the nice this, and then they just want
- 1:39:32Speaker 3: to be an important person, and the society that they
- 1:39:35Speaker 3: are growing up in shows them that all you have
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: to do is be famous. Yeah, Like Kim Kardashian is
- 1:39:41Speaker 3: one of the most famous people alive. She doesn't do anything.
- 1:39:44Speaker 3: It's not a thing like what you could point to. Oh,
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: she's like the best, she's the best painter, she's the
- 1:39:51Speaker 3: best singer. No nothing, zero zero things, super famous, worth
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: a billion dollars. And then kinds are like, that's what
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: I wanted through, especially if they're dumb. And unfortunately a
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: lot of people are dumb, and those people never thought
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: they would ever be famous before. But now you can
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: be dumb and famous.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: I mean that's a statement.
- 1:40:09Speaker 3: Yeah, dumb, you can be domba and famous and not
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: be good at anything. Like maybe you could be dumb,
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: but you're like the greatest baseball player of all time.
- 1:40:16Speaker 3: That's great, and you're famous, but no, you're dumb and
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: you're famous and you don't do anything. You're not good
- 1:40:21Speaker 3: at a thing, and you're you're famous.
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: There's a fulfillment in that, right, right, you can't be
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: there's not even if you're not great at the thing
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: or a thing, or if you try a bunch of
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: stuff and you kind of suck at all of it,
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: but you are working on it or whatever, there's fulfillment
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: in that. There's Yeah, there's like an accomplishment. Like I
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: paint folk chickens and I'm terrible at it. You what
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: a little just folk art chickens. I don't even know why.
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: You have no idea why, and they're not good at all.
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: You make paintings chicken on little canvases.
- 1:40:54Speaker 3: What's a folk chicken?
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: Well, I just call it full art because it's bad.
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: And when I look up folk art, I'm like, oh
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: I can do that, like some Couldgart's amazing. But I
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: look up like full art for beginners, then I'll like
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: get inspired, like, oh I could.
- 1:41:06Speaker 3: I could never heard that genre before.
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: Look it up. It's it's anything and everything.
- 1:41:10Speaker 3: We please look up full art. What is the definition
- 1:41:13Speaker 3: of folk art? That kind of stuff, oh, okay? Kind
- 1:41:17Speaker 3: of reflect the cultural life of community associated with fields
- 1:41:21Speaker 3: of folklore and cultural heritage. In a nineteenth century concept
- 1:41:26Speaker 3: I don't.
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: Know anything about it. I just drawn to it because
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: I think it's cute and fun.
- 1:41:31Speaker 3: Do you have any of your stuff online?
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: No, it's like in my backpack. Show anybody. It's just
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: like a painting one for my mom. She has to
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: hang it up still, Mom, she put in her kitchen.
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: I didn't know that that was it. Show me some
- 1:41:46Speaker 3: more of those images. I didn't know that that was
- 1:41:48Speaker 3: a genre. I had no idea that was a thing.
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: Well, I'm terrible at it and I don't know anything
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: about it, and I would like to learn. I want
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: to take some like I'll look up like YouTube classes
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: or whatever.
- 1:41:57Speaker 3: So it's like keep it on that so it's like
- 1:42:00Speaker 3: not realistic full guard chicken. Okay, there's a full guarded chicken.
- 1:42:03Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: Look they're so cute. Look I'll get the art. Okay,
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: like that one, like that little chunky one in the
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: middle of the black.
- 1:42:10Speaker 3: The whimsical red hen above your Yeah.
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: See that's like I'm only as good as like go
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: back that one. Yeah, that's about.
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: See that one that says whimsical red hen right there
- 1:42:19Speaker 3: above your curse. She's cute above your cursed. Yeah yeah, Oh,
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: but would you.
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: Like and I'll go to like YouTube of teaching me
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: all that to say trying something.
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: He's great, You're doing different things. Boy, these are some
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: of these chickens are terrible. How about that one?
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: Hey, it's art if I speak ill of that chicken like.
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: That, like that chicken, that's that's a that's ane so
- 1:42:47Speaker 3: bad put in my yard by child.
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: Husband is probably dying out there that I even brought
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: this up. He's talking about soup chickens. So I'm just
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: being there. He's like cooking, and I'm just like, I'm
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: painting my chickens right.
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: Now, always chickens.
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: I don't know why. I have no idea.
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: It's easy fake. You're designed to be the greatest folk arts.
- 1:43:06Speaker 3: My next song folk art fate imagine that's what it
- 1:43:11Speaker 3: is like. There's something compelling you to tell the world
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: about chicken folk art.
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: I guess.
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: So do you have chickens?
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: Yeah, do you have chickens?
- 1:43:19Speaker 3: I have chickens.
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: Chickens.
- 1:43:20Speaker 3: Chickens are great, right, They're awesome. They're really cute to
- 1:43:24Speaker 3: the ladies.
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: I go in the yard like ladies. I give them
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: all the scraps. They love everything from the table, like
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: any leftovers. It's funny to watch them though, because they're
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: like picky. Like the other day, I thought they would
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: eat like leftover breakfast cast role wouldn't touch it, really,
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: but they were all They didn't eat the biscuits. Chickens
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: are like biscuits.
- 1:43:43Speaker 3: Well maybe they know the breakfast cast roles eggs. Like Christ,
- 1:43:47Speaker 3: this lady's fucking nuts should have turned us into cannibals.
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: Ridiculous. Maybe, Oh what have I done to my ladies?
- 1:43:58Speaker 3: It might be like a natural action to them. I'll
- 1:44:01Speaker 3: tell you what they go crazy for is mice. Have
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: you ever seen?
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, So this is how I found out. I
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: used to have a house in California that my wife
- 1:44:14Speaker 3: she changed our back fence. It was a wrought iron fence,
- 1:44:17Speaker 3: and she changed it to glass. And when she did,
- 1:44:20Speaker 3: she signed a death warrant for a bunch of hawks.
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: And they kept slamming into that fucking glass, and like
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: three of them died in our yard, and one of
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: them got KOed but survived. And I was on the
- 1:44:33Speaker 3: road and she had told me about it, and they'd
- 1:44:36Speaker 3: taken this this hawk, and they had put it in
- 1:44:39Speaker 3: a box. And when I got back, we got them.
- 1:44:43Speaker 3: What's called pinkies. And what pinkies are are these little
- 1:44:48Speaker 3: baby mice that they feed them to lizards and snakes,
- 1:44:53Speaker 3: like that's what they're for. Like when you go to
- 1:44:55Speaker 3: the pet store, they sell you these things they're not
- 1:44:57Speaker 3: weaned from their mother, and you feed the snakes. I
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: know it's dark, so they've they bought a bunch of
- 1:45:02Speaker 3: them and fed this hawk these little baby mice and
- 1:45:06Speaker 3: it ate all of them except one. And my daughters
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: were very young at the time, and they're like, we
- 1:45:11Speaker 3: want to keep that mouse, we want to raise it.
- 1:45:13Speaker 3: I'm like, honey, you can't. It's not gonna live. Like
- 1:45:15Speaker 3: it's not weaned from its mother, it won't survive. I go,
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: I'm just gonna go see if the chickens will eat it.
- 1:45:24Speaker 3: I put this thing down, and these chickens attacked like
- 1:45:28Speaker 3: there were raptors from Jurassic Park. One chicken grabbed it
- 1:45:32Speaker 3: and they all chased her around. They were stealing it,
- 1:45:35Speaker 3: pulling it out of her mouth. It is that they
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: are so ferocious, like you've never seen anything like a chicken.
- 1:45:43Speaker 3: I'm gonna show you a video, and this video there's
- 1:45:46Speaker 3: a bunch of videos of cats with mice, so so
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: this is a mouse, and why what are these chickens?
- 1:45:53Speaker 3: They just kill this mouse and look they all attack
- 1:45:56Speaker 3: each other trying to steal the mouse away from the
- 1:45:57Speaker 3: one chicken. Oh they eat it quick, Yeah, they devour it.
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: Hm.
- 1:46:03Speaker 3: So there's another mouse in there that they don't know
- 1:46:04Speaker 3: about yet. So see there's one with a cat. So
- 1:46:07Speaker 3: the cat is playing with the mouse, like you know,
- 1:46:10Speaker 3: cats don't kill it or they want to play, and
- 1:46:13Speaker 3: this chicken just runs over.
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: And snatches it from the cat like I've never heard
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: this mouse.
- 1:46:18Speaker 3: Look the cat has a mouse, and chicken's like, give
- 1:46:20Speaker 3: me that bitch. Look it's got a mouse. The cat's
- 1:46:23Speaker 3: like Jesus Christ, you guys are psychos who knew? Yeah, well,
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: because they're dinosaurs. That's who they are. They're just dinosaurs
- 1:46:32Speaker 3: that are really small that survived the impact of the asteroid.
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: I also love dinosaurs, so maybe that's why chickens I'm
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: called paint my full chicken.
- 1:46:39Speaker 3: You just don't realize how ruthless they are.
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: I've never heard this in my life.
- 1:46:42Speaker 3: This is low on.
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: I'm country as a pumpkin, and like, I've never heard this.
- 1:46:46Speaker 3: They destroy mice, destroy them, they love them, They tear
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: them apart.
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: Well I'm not going to go do that, but I'm glad.
- 1:46:53Speaker 3: I note that now like nothing I've ever seen before.
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: We also saw a mouse that got loose in the
- 1:46:58Speaker 3: chicken coop once a chicken coop and a mouse went
- 1:47:01Speaker 3: in there, and I saw these chickens just tear that mouse.
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: My breakfast. Caspital is not offensive.
- 1:47:08Speaker 3: Eating their own babies.
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: They're not. We don't have a rooster, well.
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: I know, but they don't know that. You know, they
- 1:47:14Speaker 3: brewed sometimes.
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: You know, I just let them sometimes and I'm like, well,
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: I just like sometimes they look at me like let
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: me just sit on this, like okay, you can have it,
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: that's your Yeah, but they pluck.
- 1:47:25Speaker 3: Their feathers out and they get real. It makes you sad.
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: It's like they want to be a mommy. They do. Yeah,
- 1:47:32Speaker 3: you don't let them. We had a rooster once, but
- 1:47:34Speaker 3: he did not last.
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: I do not enjoy having roosters.
- 1:47:37Speaker 3: Fuckers. Yeah, attacked my wife and she's like, we're.
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: Done, attack me. I'm out rooster.
- 1:47:43Speaker 3: Yeah they're they're assholes, and but they're doing it because
- 1:47:46Speaker 3: they're trying to protect their hens. Like they don't know
- 1:47:49Speaker 3: that you're okay. They just think this big fucking thing
- 1:47:53Speaker 3: is moving around their hens like this giant person.
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: It also mean to the hents, real mean, they're brutal,
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: ripping their feathers out. I'm like, I can't do it.
- 1:48:01Speaker 3: Yeah, they're nasty there.
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: I mean, do y'all have chickens?
- 1:48:03Speaker 3: We have fifteen, fifteen or six?
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: You name them?
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: Yes, I don't name him, but my daughter and my
- 1:48:10Speaker 3: wife names them. But the rooster, he we only let
- 1:48:16Speaker 3: him got he got to maturity and then we gave
- 1:48:18Speaker 3: him to a friend, where like this motherfucker can't. I
- 1:48:21Speaker 3: was gonna kill him. Yeah, he attacked me. I went
- 1:48:24Speaker 3: into the Oh it was like you just kind of
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: like show him whose boss and he's like, no, no,
- 1:48:29Speaker 3: I'm not attacking to bitch exactly attacked me and I
- 1:48:31Speaker 3: was like, bitch, I will fucking kill you. And so
- 1:48:33Speaker 3: to avoid killing him, I gave him away. I was
- 1:48:37Speaker 3: totally ready to kill him, Yeah, because when I go
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: in there, he'd face off against me and just leap
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: at me and every.
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: Time attacked me to and Dad dealt with it. I
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: don't know what happened to him, but Dad dealt with it.
- 1:48:47Speaker 3: Soup. That's the thing about roosters too. I guess he
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: can't like just outright eat him. They're really tough, so
- 1:48:55Speaker 3: if you do kill them, you gotta like either slow
- 1:48:58Speaker 3: cook them or turn them into Well we probably did.
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: He didn't tell me.
- 1:49:04Speaker 3: I had a landscaper back when I lived in LA
- 1:49:06Speaker 3: who used to fight chickens and he took me over.
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: Hate that.
- 1:49:10Speaker 3: It was crazy.
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: I hate it.
- 1:49:12Speaker 3: He had like one hundred, one hundred roosters.
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: We have done some boxers my nation has done. We're
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: not just we don't just help dogs. We help all animals,
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: but dogs are focus. But like we've helped break up
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: some chicken rings.
- 1:49:23Speaker 3: It's crazy. It's still it's still around.
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: It's awful. There's it's always out. Like we have a
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: farm in Tennessee and there's a whole this this whole
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: farm like down the road and it's they keep him
- 1:49:36Speaker 1: in tiny cage. It I just hate it. And every
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: time we report him, every time they just pay the fine,
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: you know what I mean.
- 1:49:42Speaker 3: It's a part of the culture that's the problem, and
- 1:49:44Speaker 3: they all gamble on it. I know he was Mexican,
- 1:49:46Speaker 3: and you know, from Mexico, and he had all these
- 1:49:50Speaker 3: friends that lived in this neighborhood where he lived in
- 1:49:53Speaker 3: like you might as well have been in Mexico. It
- 1:49:54Speaker 3: was crazy. Everything was in Spanish. And when I went
- 1:49:57Speaker 3: over his place, it's like his buddy, we want to
- 1:50:00Speaker 3: his buddy's place. His buddy had like a hundred cages
- 1:50:03Speaker 3: in the backyard and a pit where they would take
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: the roosters. Yeah, and they put spurs on them, so
- 1:50:08Speaker 3: they put so terrible I mean on their claws.
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: We try to like we got to be part of
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: like some of the but when you confiscate like that
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: many you mean yeah, I mean you can't. Yeah, and
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: reintroduce them into the world, like you know what I mean.
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: They're taught to be mean the bread for.
- 1:50:27Speaker 3: That m hm. Yeah, and they'll bread. They'll breed champion
- 1:50:30Speaker 3: roosters from champion other roosters.
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: Let's just stick to our little backyard hens, how about that.
- 1:50:37Speaker 3: Yeah. It's just it's a weird thing because like their
- 1:50:40Speaker 3: their culture has been they fight them and then they
- 1:50:43Speaker 3: take the loser and they cook them. Yeah. And you know,
- 1:50:45Speaker 3: he was making it seem like there's no big deal,
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: and it was like to them it was their gambling recreation.
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: I'll gather around and guys would come from long distances
- 1:50:53Speaker 3: to bring their chickens to fight. I hate it. Yeah,
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: to me, it doesn't freak me out as much as
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: dog fighting. Dog fighting drives me nuts. His pit bulls
- 1:51:03Speaker 3: are the they're look, they're very dangerous because they have
- 1:51:07Speaker 3: a very high preye drive, and they often don't they
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: confuse children with other animals. They don't. But as pets,
- 1:51:16Speaker 3: they are the most loyal, loving, sweetest kind. They love
- 1:51:22Speaker 3: you to death, They love you so much. But there's
- 1:51:25Speaker 3: so many bad ones and so many ones that are
- 1:51:28Speaker 3: raised just to fight, and that part of our culture,
- 1:51:32Speaker 3: that part of society, like the underground dog fighting part
- 1:51:36Speaker 3: is like how can you do that to a dog? Like?
- 1:51:39Speaker 3: How can you do that to the best animals?
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: Love the earth is what it is. I feel like
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: I have some friends that are huge into pitple rescue,
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: and when they're either rehabilitated or just they get a
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: bad rap period. Right Like like say any any metro
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: shelter you go to, it's ninety percent pit bulls because
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: people are afraid. Yeah, they get such a bad reputation,
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: but there are some amazing pities that weren't ever in
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: the fighting rings. They're just overbred and you know, taking
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: it out of a confiscation, of of a hoarding situation
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: or breaking up the fighting rings, and it's the mama
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: dog that's just been having puppies. And like, I just
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: wish people would at least open their minds and hearts
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: to like there are some amazing pities out there or
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: pity mixes. You know there are.
- 1:52:26Speaker 3: But they're also very dangerous.
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: I get it.
- 1:52:28Speaker 3: I know they are around other dogs, they will fight
- 1:52:30Speaker 3: those dogs to the death.
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: I think they have to be vetted. Has to be
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: a well vetted shelter or adoption, you know.
- 1:52:37Speaker 3: But the problem is oftentimes you don't know their behavior
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: until they're around other dogs. Like I've had dogs that
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: were great around people, and then I'd get them around
- 1:52:44Speaker 3: any dog and their hackles would go up and they
- 1:52:46Speaker 3: immediately wanted to fight. And you're like, oh God, And
- 1:52:49Speaker 3: then you're the asshole because your dog is like pulling
- 1:52:51Speaker 3: on the leash and you're like, I'm sorry, let me
- 1:52:53Speaker 3: get them out of here, right. I know they're dangerous.
- 1:52:56Speaker 3: They're dangerous in that regard because they really are bread
- 1:52:58Speaker 3: to fight.
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: And I think it takes a special household and owner
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: too to really kind of handle a dog like that.
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: Like our best friends Gwenn, she's in my band and
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: her and her husband are longtime people rescue family, and
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: they just know how to deal with them and they
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: come around our dogs. They're fine, everything's fine, but it's
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: definitely an alpha male out Like they kind of show
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: them whose boss right away, and they sort of understand
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: the food chain of the house, you know what I mean.
- 1:53:28Speaker 3: Yeah, there's dogs that are great dogs, but they just
- 1:53:30Speaker 3: need a lot of attention. Like if you have a
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: German Shepherd or a Belgian melan wall, you got to
- 1:53:36Speaker 3: give those things something.
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: Yeah, You've got to know what kind of breed you're
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: getting to. Like I feel like people I always preach adopt,
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: don't shop, but I still think you within the adoption,
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: like really need to go. I must spend some time
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: with this dog. I'm gonna talk to its foster family.
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: I'm going to foster it just to really understand what
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: kind of breed you're getting. If you want like a lazy,
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: cuddly thing, but still protect your get a parane, you
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like, just know what you're getting,
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: Like just understand, like as my household ready, because there's
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: a lot of the what breaks my heart the most
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: is to like owner surrenders and the returns at the shelters.
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: You know what I mean. It's like you didn't think
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: through what you were right doing.
- 1:54:16Speaker 3: Dog already thought it had a home, and now you
- 1:54:17Speaker 3: bring the.
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: Right because you did. You wanted a lazy dog and
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: you got a cow dog and it needs to run.
- 1:54:22Speaker 3: Like great Pyrenees are great because they're kind of a
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: combination of like a lab and a protector dog. They're
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: a great little balance. Like I have a friend who
- 1:54:30Speaker 3: has a Pyrenees and it's like such a good dog.
- 1:54:33Speaker 3: And he's like, listen, man, if coyotes come around here,
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: this fucking dog, oh yeah, books them up. I go
- 1:54:39Speaker 3: really he goes like, oh yeah, Like you ain't never
- 1:54:42Speaker 3: seen a change of personality like this dog when it
- 1:54:45Speaker 3: sees a coyote.
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: But then they're like laid up on the couch, sweet.
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: It's the best.
- 1:54:51Speaker 3: Like I have a golden who's he's the best unless
- 1:54:55Speaker 3: you're a squirrel and then he's these hell, he's a
- 1:54:59Speaker 3: squirrel killer. But other than that, he's the sweetest boy.
- 1:55:03Speaker 3: He's just so nice to everybody. Everybody comes over the house,
- 1:55:05Speaker 3: like you're my best friend. They're so sweet.
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: But I love, I love. We have a chihuaha. I mean,
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: I mean you you're getting a chihuahwah. You know what
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: you're getting.
- 1:55:18Speaker 3: Mina's hell.
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: My god, so mean. She's sixteen and blind and she
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: still tries to buy. She don't know where you are,
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: but she's like, but I could get you. Sixteen old
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: and blind as a bat. Oh my god, senior doghouse
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: over here?
- 1:55:32Speaker 3: Have you had her since she was a baby?
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: Ye? Wow, it from a shelter when she was like
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: eight weeks old. We got two seniors now, but I've
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: lost I was crazy dog lady when my husband met me,
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: and I had eight rescues, like it seems crazy now,
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: but I have farm in land and three were paynees,
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: two Golden mixes, and then three little I don't know
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: what's and I've lost one every year for six years.
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: And so after this, we have two seniors left. And
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: my husband's like, my heart can't take this, Like he
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: never had dogs growing up. He loves dogs, but he
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: was like, this is awful, Like ever since we met,
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: we've lost one because they're stairs up in age, and
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: so I'm like, I need my heart needs a break.
- 1:56:13Speaker 3: It's hard. Yeah, it's hard. When they die, it's like
- 1:56:16Speaker 3: it's it's so hard. You're so close to them and
- 1:56:19Speaker 3: they only lived like to be thirteen and then it's over.
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: They put here to show us true love. I know
- 1:56:26Speaker 1: they really are.
- 1:56:27Speaker 3: Meanwhile, they're not. Meanwhile what they are. We took wolves
- 1:56:30Speaker 3: and turned them into bitches. That's what really, really what happened. Like,
- 1:56:34Speaker 3: I have a King Charles Spaniel, you know, one of those.
- 1:56:38Speaker 3: He's the sweetest, that's Charlie. He is the sweetest. He's
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: so cute. You pick him up, he just kisses your face.
- 1:56:46Speaker 3: He's just so adorable. That was a wolf at one time.
- 1:56:50Speaker 3: Someone took a wolf and turned that wolf into a
- 1:56:53Speaker 3: bitch and like you're not enough of a bitch, turn
- 1:56:56Speaker 3: you into more of a bitch and more flop.
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it so weird.
- 1:57:04Speaker 3: But humans have done to dogs and we've created all
- 1:57:08Speaker 3: these like totally helpless, little tiny breeds.
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: I know, it's weird.
- 1:57:13Speaker 3: Shitsus and all these little tiny things.
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but they're all amazing. And there's plenty of the
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: shelter that y'all should go check out.
- 1:57:21Speaker 3: Look, they're amazing. I love them. But it is a
- 1:57:23Speaker 3: weird thing that we've done because they all used to
- 1:57:26Speaker 3: be wolves at one point in time. Yeah, that's got
- 1:57:29Speaker 3: to be the weirdest transformation of an animal. It's like
- 1:57:33Speaker 3: human interaction.
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: It's yeah, a dog, I wonder how, I just wonder,
- 1:57:37Speaker 1: like the first one to do it.
- 1:57:38Speaker 3: Like do we know they think it was just like
- 1:57:41Speaker 3: cave men by the fire and wolves would come around
- 1:57:44Speaker 3: and they had killed something and they'd throw them a bone,
- 1:57:47Speaker 3: and the relationship became the wolves would let them know
- 1:57:50Speaker 3: if intruders were coming, and then eventually they softened to
- 1:57:55Speaker 3: the point where they could like sleep with these people,
- 1:57:57Speaker 3: so they were like household animals or at least stay
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: around the house, and they trusted them to protect their children.
- 1:58:04Speaker 3: And then you know, then they developed different breeds that
- 1:58:07Speaker 3: were better at like hurting sheep. Yeah, because you gotta think,
- 1:58:10Speaker 3: like most wolves killed sheep, so all of a sudden,
- 1:58:12Speaker 3: you could teach a dog to like make sure the
- 1:58:15Speaker 3: sheep don't get killed by wolves, which is nuts nuts And.
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: It's incredible to watch and watching dogs like bird dogs. Yeah,
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: it's one of my favorites. And also like the canine units,
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: they blow my mind, like the things these dogs can
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: do and the stamina.
- 1:58:29Speaker 3: They have, And well, I think the biggest freak dog
- 1:58:32Speaker 3: that's ever been created is the Belgian mellontwalk. Oh yeah,
- 1:58:35Speaker 3: that is a fucking crazy dog when you see them
- 1:58:37Speaker 3: run up walls and fly.
- 1:58:40Speaker 1: But like that's one of the dogs. You're like, you
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: need to know what you're getting. Oh yeah, you need
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: like a dude that can run with his dog all.
- 1:58:46Speaker 3: Day and you can't leave them alone and you can't like,
- 1:58:49Speaker 3: hey man, can you watch my dog? I when to
- 1:58:50Speaker 3: be gone for a week. Like nu uh, the fucking
- 1:58:54Speaker 3: hard pack. The dog's coming with you, bitch. You need
- 1:58:58Speaker 3: to watching you. Yeah, that dog needs activity. Have you
- 1:59:02Speaker 3: ever seen the video of the difference between the way
- 1:59:04Speaker 3: a German shepherd approaches an assailant versus a Belgium malamoah.
- 1:59:09Speaker 3: So they do these drills where they have a bunch
- 1:59:11Speaker 3: of chairs in a room and the German shepherd runs
- 1:59:14Speaker 3: around the chairs to try to get to the guy
- 1:59:16Speaker 3: who's got the bite suit on. The Belgian malwah goes
- 1:59:19Speaker 3: over all the chairs just like flies through the air,
- 1:59:22Speaker 3: barely touching the chairs. Watch this, so here's the shepherd.
- 1:59:25Speaker 3: See how the shepherd runs around and he's like I'm
- 1:59:28Speaker 3: gonna get you. I'm gonna get you. And he finds
- 1:59:29Speaker 3: you and he bites you. Watch the Belgium Malwah. As
- 1:59:32Speaker 3: soon as they let him go, he's like, fuck these
- 1:59:34Speaker 3: chairs right over him.
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: That's incredible.
- 1:59:36Speaker 3: They're just meat missiles. They're meat missiles, Like they're designed
- 1:59:41Speaker 3: to go fuck things up. That's their task all day long.
- 1:59:44Speaker 3: And they're crazy smart. They're really smart. Oh yeah. They
- 1:59:49Speaker 3: look at you like a raptor in Jurassic Park, like
- 1:59:51Speaker 3: checking you out. What are we doing Mike killing you?
- 1:59:54Speaker 3: Or are you just one of my.
- 1:59:55Speaker 1: Dad's perfect perfect out like this? Can I put it?
- 2:00:01Speaker 1: Or is he at work right now?
- 2:00:02Speaker 3: He's working?
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 2:00:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't ever pet Malama unce. I know for sure.
- 2:00:08Speaker 3: They're just that's a working dog. It's a different thing,
- 2:00:12Speaker 3: you know. I mean, but it's also kind of crazy
- 2:00:14Speaker 3: that they figured out a way to make a dog
- 2:00:16Speaker 3: into that, Like how do you can you make a
- 2:00:19Speaker 3: dog into my dog? Which is like just a cuddle
- 2:00:22Speaker 3: but he just he just a cuddle bug. He just
- 2:00:24Speaker 3: wants to lie down with you, Like today we're watching TV.
- 2:00:27Speaker 3: He just cuddles up. He's like got his head in
- 2:00:29Speaker 3: my lap and we're watching TV. It used to be
- 2:00:33Speaker 3: a wolf.
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: The only one I think about in my house that
- 2:00:35Speaker 1: used to be a wolf is much wal because she's
- 2:00:37Speaker 1: the meanest.
- 2:00:39Speaker 3: How that's so funny, But it's just so crazy that
- 2:00:43Speaker 3: they figured out a way to make a wolf into
- 2:00:45Speaker 3: a thing that protects animals from wolves.
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: I didn't think about like that.
- 2:00:49Speaker 3: I mean some of them. Have you ever seen that?
- 2:00:51Speaker 3: What is that shepherd dog? That crazy giant one from Russia?
- 2:00:56Speaker 3: What was it? That enorm what is it called? Not
- 2:00:59Speaker 3: from Russia? It's like a mountain shepherd. It looks like
- 2:01:03Speaker 3: a werewolf and it's got really crazy thick hair because
- 2:01:07Speaker 3: of the climate that it lives in. But it's like
- 2:01:09Speaker 3: two hundred pounds, like this enormous thing that protects Caucasian shepherd.
- 2:01:14Speaker 3: That's it, Caucasian shepherd. It literally looks like a werewolf,
- 2:01:17Speaker 3: like the werewolf that we have out front American werelf
- 2:01:20Speaker 3: in That's what it looks like, and they just protect
- 2:01:22Speaker 3: Look at that.
- 2:01:23Speaker 1: Oh, I've seen those. I just don't know what they're crazy.
- 2:01:26Speaker 3: See if you can find one that's doing bite, but
- 2:01:28Speaker 3: look that one looks sweet. Yeah, unless you break into
- 2:01:31Speaker 3: the house. I mean, that thing's crazy google Caucasian shepherd
- 2:01:40Speaker 3: training or bite right there. That does look that's fake.
- 2:01:45Speaker 3: But look at the side. That's one like pretending to
- 2:01:48Speaker 3: see there's one that's doing bite work though. And that
- 2:01:50Speaker 3: other image that's the word for them is like a
- 2:01:55Speaker 3: word of charka like that is a big ass dog
- 2:02:02Speaker 3: and that's another dog that they use to to protect
- 2:02:06Speaker 3: against wolves as the size as.
- 2:02:09Speaker 1: That suckers huge.
- 2:02:13Speaker 3: So what are they doing here?
- 2:02:14Speaker 1: Where are they their Russian That.
- 2:02:16Speaker 3: Looks like they're transporting it YouTube channel? Oh okay, they're
- 2:02:21Speaker 3: training it. Yeah, with a big bag of shitty dog food.
- 2:02:27Speaker 3: That dog food that people buy. That stuff so terrible.
- 2:02:30Speaker 1: You do Farmer's dog.
- 2:02:32Speaker 3: Yeah, we started off with another company called Mave, which
- 2:02:36Speaker 3: is great. It's frozen, but just the way he eats
- 2:02:40Speaker 3: Farmer's dog, the way they eat it, it must taste
- 2:02:42Speaker 3: way better. And it's the same kind of thing. It's
- 2:02:44Speaker 3: real food. It's frozen. Get it frozen, thought out and
- 2:02:47Speaker 3: feed it to him like he when when he's ready
- 2:02:50Speaker 3: to eat, they devours its.
- 2:02:54Speaker 1: I want to start that with my senior dogs because
- 2:02:57Speaker 1: they just had all kinds of things, you know, and
- 2:02:59Speaker 1: everybody had a ailments and needed pills and everything else.
- 2:03:02Speaker 1: And I was just like, all right, we're just gonna
- 2:03:03Speaker 1: do the expensive dog food. But I had three Pyrenees rescues,
- 2:03:08Speaker 1: two Golden mixes, and like three littler dogs. I'm like,
- 2:03:11Speaker 1: this is like seven hundred dollars a batch for all
- 2:03:14Speaker 1: y'all to eat. Like, So I started making it for
- 2:03:17Speaker 1: a while too, Like I would just make like ground turkey.
- 2:03:19Speaker 3: Oh that's great, but I just couldn't keep up with it.
- 2:03:22Speaker 1: So I mean Farmer's dogs what we used.
- 2:03:23Speaker 3: To, Well, it's definitely way better than regular dog food,
- 2:03:27Speaker 3: because way better. Anything that can sit on the shelf
- 2:03:29Speaker 3: can't be good for you. It just can't. It's field preservatives.
- 2:03:32Speaker 1: And that's not living on Cheetos.
- 2:03:34Speaker 3: I feel like exactly.
- 2:03:35Speaker 1: Sometimes I want to eat them.
- 2:03:37Speaker 3: Sometimes I love them, but like if you were stuck
- 2:03:42Speaker 3: in a cabin for a week and you couldn't get out,
- 2:03:44Speaker 3: and then there's an unlimited supply of Cheetos in the cabin,
- 2:03:47Speaker 3: you're gonna live, right, but you're not gonna feel real good.
- 2:03:51Speaker 1: You're always like what's on your rider. I'm like Cheetos
- 2:03:53Speaker 1: andos kind of all I need is that it.
- 2:03:55Speaker 3: That's that's hilarious. Some people have not much.
- 2:04:04Speaker 1: I have like a cheese tray maybe, or yeah, I.
- 2:04:06Speaker 3: Have a meat tray, a meat tray. Uh. When I
- 2:04:11Speaker 3: was drinking, it was we would definitely have like some
- 2:04:15Speaker 3: whiskey on there, and uh, maybe like a bottle of wine.
- 2:04:20Speaker 3: But I don't really don't drink anymore, not that I yeah,
- 2:04:24Speaker 3: this is like I wasn't an alcoholic, So it's not
- 2:04:26Speaker 3: like I can't drink, like I had a glass of
- 2:04:28Speaker 3: wine with dinner the other night, But it's not I
- 2:04:31Speaker 3: don't drink anymore, Like I don't. Like we would I
- 2:04:34Speaker 3: would go to my comedy club with my friends or
- 2:04:36Speaker 3: we go on the road. I'd have a couple of
- 2:04:38Speaker 3: glasses of this and a couple of glasses of that,
- 2:04:40Speaker 3: and a margarita at dinner, and then the next day
- 2:04:43Speaker 3: I'd feel like shit. And it wasn't ever like I
- 2:04:46Speaker 3: couldn't stop. It was just I did. And then one
- 2:04:48Speaker 3: day I was like, I think I'm just gonna stop
- 2:04:51Speaker 3: for a while and see how I feel. And I
- 2:04:52Speaker 3: felt so much better, so much better. Because I was
- 2:04:56Speaker 3: drinking like two or three nights a week, sometimes four,
- 2:05:00Speaker 3: go out to date on a date with my wife,
- 2:05:01Speaker 3: I have a couple of drinks. I go to the
- 2:05:03Speaker 3: comedy club, I have a couple of drinks. Maybe I
- 2:05:05Speaker 3: have a drink or two with someone in the studio.
- 2:05:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it just I mean I feel like that show
- 2:05:10Speaker 1: is I mean, it's just part of it, Like it's
- 2:05:13Speaker 1: part of our culture, and like we have to bring
- 2:05:16Speaker 1: the party to That's the other thing. It's like, how
- 2:05:19Speaker 1: am I supposed to bring the party if I'm not
- 2:05:21Speaker 1: partying with you?
- 2:05:22Speaker 3: Right? You know that's a problem. Yeah, yeah, that's a.
- 2:05:25Speaker 1: Problem, especially in like the honky tong days, like I
- 2:05:27Speaker 1: came up in like beer joints I'm talking about like
- 2:05:31Speaker 1: god bars, you know what i mean, And you just
- 2:05:33Speaker 1: start getting in it with people and then then you're
- 2:05:36Speaker 1: on your day off, You're like, oh, we're gonna have
- 2:05:38Speaker 1: a nice date and have a drink, you know what
- 2:05:39Speaker 1: I mean. It just it's kind of spirals, I know.
- 2:05:42Speaker 1: But I love it. I love red wine, like it's
- 2:05:45Speaker 1: my favorite thing.
- 2:05:46Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't hate drinking. I just hate how I
- 2:05:50Speaker 3: feel the next day. But like I'm not you know,
- 2:05:53Speaker 3: i'd say I'll never do it again, but for now
- 2:05:56Speaker 3: I'm not doing it anymore. But I'll still have a
- 2:05:58Speaker 3: drink or two, not even too not even too. I
- 2:06:02Speaker 3: drink like I didn't even have a full glass of
- 2:06:04Speaker 3: wine the other night, and like a half glass of wine.
- 2:06:06Speaker 3: I'm like, we're good. But like if somebody has a
- 2:06:08Speaker 3: bottle of Buffalo Trace and we're sitting around talking shit,
- 2:06:10Speaker 3: I want to have a couple of drinks. I might.
- 2:06:12Speaker 1: You're just giving yourself permission to be wherever you want.
- 2:06:15Speaker 3: I'm just trying to be healthier. That is what it is.
- 2:06:17Speaker 3: And I recognize that, Like if I do all these
- 2:06:19Speaker 3: healthy things for my body, I work out all the time,
- 2:06:21Speaker 3: I eat so well, I take all these vitamins, Like
- 2:06:23Speaker 3: why am I letting myself get poisoned four nights a week?
- 2:06:27Speaker 3: That seems stupid, especially with my lifestyle. It's like it's better,
- 2:06:31Speaker 3: Like even if I just limit it to one night
- 2:06:33Speaker 3: a week, it's better. But really it's better.
- 2:06:35Speaker 1: Just not.
- 2:06:37Speaker 3: The reality is it's not good for you.
- 2:06:39Speaker 1: But it's fun.
- 2:06:40Speaker 3: It is fun. It is fun, getting like catching a
- 2:06:43Speaker 3: buzz is fun. Some of my favorite podcasts we've ever done,
- 2:06:46Speaker 3: like when we do protect our parks, we get hammered.
- 2:06:48Speaker 3: They're fun. Yeah, yeah, I mean people aren't doing it
- 2:06:53Speaker 3: because they're stupid, right, there's a reason why they enjoy
- 2:06:55Speaker 3: being drunk and have four thousand. I mean, it's probably
- 2:07:02Speaker 3: responsible for so many relationships starting in the first place,
- 2:07:05Speaker 3: so many people meeting people, so many fun friendships.
- 2:07:08Speaker 1: A lot of the memories too. It's like on the
- 2:07:10Speaker 1: road after the show, it's like, yeah, when everybody's just
- 2:07:14Speaker 1: really being themselves.
- 2:07:15Speaker 3: Like it's also a culturally acceptable drug that most people
- 2:07:19Speaker 3: know how to consume. I mean, they might do it wrong,
- 2:07:21Speaker 3: or they might get too drunk or duy or be
- 2:07:24Speaker 3: an asshole or it's possible, but it's enough of a
- 2:07:28Speaker 3: normal thing that a good percentage of people know when
- 2:07:31Speaker 3: they've had enough and they know the right dose. You know,
- 2:07:35Speaker 3: you have a couple of drinks, like I'm good. You know,
- 2:07:38Speaker 3: you know where you're at. Whereas any other drug that
- 2:07:42Speaker 3: you're trying today is illegal, and there are any other
- 2:07:45Speaker 3: drug It's like who knows what's going to happen, right, Yeah,
- 2:07:49Speaker 3: And if you want to go next door, like really
- 2:07:51Speaker 3: next door next.
- 2:07:52Speaker 1: Door, I'm going down the street.
- 2:07:54Speaker 3: Yeah, you can go down the street with Whiskey Town.
- 2:07:58Speaker 1: It's martiniz like everybody does, like, do not drink more
- 2:08:02Speaker 1: than two martinis are you an insane person, like you can't.
- 2:08:05Speaker 1: Everyone should know it, Like I feel like that's what.
- 2:08:10Speaker 3: Rually you know that motherfucker can put some martinis down.
- 2:08:14Speaker 1: Really, I'm like, two's good, Like that's straight up, well
- 2:08:19Speaker 1: you're smart, just straight up, I mean, and then have
- 2:08:21Speaker 1: your glass one whatever you want. I ask too when
- 2:08:23Speaker 1: you see, like you know, somebody sit at a bar
- 2:08:25Speaker 1: by themselves at like three o'clock and there, and then
- 2:08:27Speaker 1: you're like, dang, that's their third mark. There's the third martini.
- 2:08:31Speaker 1: They're about to hit the deck and they're fine. I'm like,
- 2:08:33Speaker 1: something's gonna happen later. Something's gonna happen later.
- 2:08:36Speaker 3: All the time, that's the thing.
- 2:08:37Speaker 1: That's here's your sign.
- 2:08:39Speaker 3: Yeah, it's supposedly better for you, right, isn't it? Like
- 2:08:42Speaker 3: do you drink Tito's like a vodka martini is probably
- 2:08:46Speaker 3: is a the same.
- 2:08:48Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm a Tito's and Topo. Tito's and Topo.
- 2:08:52Speaker 3: They say that clear liquors better for you, right, don't
- 2:08:56Speaker 3: they say that?
- 2:08:56Speaker 1: I don't know. We've made excuses for every single thing
- 2:08:58Speaker 1: we want to do today.
- 2:09:00Speaker 3: They said tequila is the best, great for us and
- 2:09:05Speaker 3: is clear.
- 2:09:05Speaker 1: It's awesome.
- 2:09:06Speaker 3: It's supposedly better for you, isn't it? Is there a
- 2:09:09Speaker 3: reason why clear liquor is like a real reason why
- 2:09:12Speaker 3: clear liquor? There you go, Yes, that's it pretty sure.
- 2:09:17Speaker 3: I mean, even tequila, it's got you gotta find the
- 2:09:20Speaker 3: good stuff, right, But if you find the good that's
- 2:09:22Speaker 3: the other thing. I was reading this thing about how
- 2:09:24Speaker 3: much tequila is fake, how much tequila is not really
- 2:09:27Speaker 3: made with a gave that's a.
- 2:09:28Speaker 1: Real that's a lot a lot. Yeah, it's a lot
- 2:09:31Speaker 1: of urture. Ass. I mean, tequila, wol It's not forgiving
- 2:09:36Speaker 1: if you abuse it.
- 2:09:37Speaker 3: It's a certain kind of Drunk tequila is like a
- 2:09:40Speaker 3: shootout with the cops.
- 2:09:41Speaker 1: Drunk that's like my t with my shotgun run.
- 2:09:46Speaker 3: It's a high speed chase. Drunk tequila is just like, oh,
- 2:09:50Speaker 3: we're drunking tequilaikes, like you just picture yourself doing something
- 2:09:55Speaker 3: definitely incorrect. Yeah, it's a funny thing that I guess.
- 2:10:00Speaker 3: It makes sense though that music and comedy, for in
- 2:10:06Speaker 3: a lot of ways is connected to drinking, because drinking
- 2:10:11Speaker 3: like lowers inhibitions, and it makes you want to sing
- 2:10:13Speaker 3: along and it makes you want to dance, and maybe
- 2:10:16Speaker 3: you don't feel like you got the confidence to dance,
- 2:10:18Speaker 3: but you get a couple of shots. Fuck it, let's
- 2:10:20Speaker 3: get on the dance.
- 2:10:22Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like that's it's just a it's like a feeling,
- 2:10:28Speaker 1: and it's you're part of the party and you're part
- 2:10:30Speaker 1: of the song and you're part of the show and
- 2:10:32Speaker 1: or whatever. Like what I just think, especially I think
- 2:10:34Speaker 1: our I think music and comedy are the most as
- 2:10:37Speaker 1: far as show business, Like you're you know that people
- 2:10:39Speaker 1: just feel like that's something that they go there to do.
- 2:10:43Speaker 3: Right, Well, there're two things that you have to go
- 2:10:45Speaker 3: see live. You don't have to, I mean, you can
- 2:10:47Speaker 3: just listen to music in your phone and all that stuff,
- 2:10:49Speaker 3: but the reality is it's way better if you're there live,
- 2:10:52Speaker 3: like live. Going to see live music to me is
- 2:10:56Speaker 3: like so inspirational because I don't have any skill at
- 2:11:00Speaker 3: music at all. I don't have any musical talent. I
- 2:11:02Speaker 3: can't play any instruments. So it's just I don't ever
- 2:11:05Speaker 3: think like, huh, I wonder why they did it that way.
- 2:11:07Speaker 1: M h.
- 2:11:07Speaker 3: I see where they enjoy it. I could just be entertained.
- 2:11:11Speaker 1: That's great, and it's I.
- 2:11:13Speaker 3: Think music is a drug in and of itself. Because
- 2:11:16Speaker 3: it does something to your A great song does something
- 2:11:20Speaker 3: very powerful to you, like it'll make you feel powerful
- 2:11:23Speaker 3: emotions or powerful inspiration. It's like it does something that
- 2:11:27Speaker 3: nothing else does in a weird, weird way, and it
- 2:11:31Speaker 3: feels so good.
- 2:11:32Speaker 1: Like when you have a song that somebody comes up
- 2:11:35Speaker 1: and says, that song changed my life. That song, you know,
- 2:11:39Speaker 1: I have one called Hoss that built me. That's like
- 2:11:41Speaker 1: the one people come up to me the most, and like,
- 2:11:43Speaker 1: that's my story and it's I didn't write it. I'm like,
- 2:11:46Speaker 1: but that's when I heard it. That's why I was like,
- 2:11:48Speaker 1: this is my story too, And those are the and
- 2:11:51Speaker 1: like as a songwriter, when you write a song like that,
- 2:11:54Speaker 1: that's that's the ultimate like reminder, like this is why
- 2:11:57Speaker 1: I do that. Like, yeah, it may somebody feel something,
- 2:12:00Speaker 1: It made somebody get through something, it made somebody want
- 2:12:04Speaker 1: to punch somebody, whatever the emotion is. As long as
- 2:12:07Speaker 1: it brings out emotion, we've done our job. Right.
- 2:12:09Speaker 3: Think how many people you've done that too? How nuts
- 2:12:11Speaker 3: that is? Like you've had so many hit songs, so
- 2:12:13Speaker 3: you've had so many songs that resonated with people where
- 2:12:16Speaker 3: they all felt that feeling when that song came on like,
- 2:12:19Speaker 3: oh this is my.
- 2:12:20Speaker 1: Song, Yeah, this is my song.
- 2:12:22Speaker 3: I turned it up.
- 2:12:23Speaker 1: I have like the feisty, A lot of the feisty.
- 2:12:26Speaker 1: I mean, I'm I'm a little calmer now, but it
- 2:12:29Speaker 1: used to be quite the firecracker, just par parrel. Th
- 2:12:33Speaker 1: reason I have revolvers tattooed to borrow and now I'm
- 2:12:36Speaker 1: shooting them all forwards is like just a little like
- 2:12:38Speaker 1: a pistol personality, I guess. And so like my feisty songs.
- 2:12:42Speaker 1: I mean every single show, pretty much every single show,
- 2:12:47Speaker 1: there's a girl fight in the pit everything. Yeah, they
- 2:12:50Speaker 1: just get riled up. They get I'm telling you, they
- 2:12:54Speaker 1: just get.
- 2:12:55Speaker 3: I mean, I wonder if you have more girl fights
- 2:12:58Speaker 3: than other female singers.
- 2:13:00Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 2:13:00Speaker 3: I bet you do. If every single show you have,
- 2:13:02Speaker 3: almost every show, I bet that's real odd. Have you
- 2:13:05Speaker 3: talked to other female singers? Do they have similar and asked?
- 2:13:08Speaker 1: How many girls about your show?
- 2:13:10Speaker 3: You should ask?
- 2:13:11Speaker 1: You should like because it's like towards this part where
- 2:13:14Speaker 1: it's like I call it my ramp up. It's like
- 2:13:17Speaker 1: Coumpounder and lid Little Red Wagon, Mom's broken heart and
- 2:13:21Speaker 1: like they just start getting wound up.
- 2:13:23Speaker 3: They think about their ex or.
- 2:13:25Speaker 1: He's there and they're it's just a lot. I'll stop
- 2:13:30Speaker 1: if it gets real bad, I'll just stop and go, hey, y'all,
- 2:13:34Speaker 1: tone it down a little bit. Really every show, almost
- 2:13:37Speaker 1: every show.
- 2:13:37Speaker 3: That's really odd, Miranda. I know, I think that's odd.
- 2:13:41Speaker 3: I think that that might be a very specific reaction
- 2:13:44Speaker 3: that you have on people.
- 2:13:46Speaker 1: Maybe I need I mean now, and I'm pretty calm now,
- 2:13:48Speaker 1: I'm like, it's all right, we got some ballots coming up.
- 2:13:51Speaker 1: Take a sip, take a seat, y'all, settle down.
- 2:13:56Speaker 3: I think it's great. They're feeling something.
- 2:13:59Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, you out of emotion.
- 2:14:00Speaker 3: Yeah, that's my job. Yeah, I bet it's great at
- 2:14:03Speaker 3: the gym. Those songs, Yeah, I think about that bitch
- 2:14:06Speaker 3: they punch at the concert.
- 2:14:11Speaker 1: I have a lot of those, like girl my bitch,
- 2:14:13Speaker 1: like those kind of girls there.
- 2:14:14Speaker 3: Yea, And I love it. I love Yeah, that's awesome.
- 2:14:17Speaker 3: That's awesome. Yeah, you can't buy that. That's a weird feeling.
- 2:14:21Speaker 1: It is.
- 2:14:21Speaker 3: Yeah, you have to earn that feeling.
- 2:14:23Speaker 1: You'll have to come to a show that's like one
- 2:14:26Speaker 1: that I know for sure is going to be one
- 2:14:27Speaker 1: of those like I.
- 2:14:28Speaker 3: Would love to and I would love.
- 2:14:29Speaker 1: To watch from the stage.
- 2:14:31Speaker 3: I loved you at the McConaughey event. It was amazing.
- 2:14:34Speaker 1: That's such a cool event too.
- 2:14:35Speaker 3: It's such a good event.
- 2:14:36Speaker 1: And I love I love all those boys and Jack,
- 2:14:39Speaker 1: and I mean Jack Ingram is one of my heroes
- 2:14:41Speaker 1: from back in the day. Like I started watching him
- 2:14:43Speaker 1: when I was fifteen, and he had such charisma and
- 2:14:46Speaker 1: that's why I want to do that, you know really, yeah,
- 2:14:49Speaker 1: I've known him for a long time.
- 2:14:50Speaker 3: It's such a cool thing when you're going to an
- 2:14:53Speaker 3: event like that and it's for a great cause. So
- 2:14:56Speaker 3: everybody's like super positive about why they're there. It's not
- 2:14:59Speaker 3: just to have fun. It's also it does like such
- 2:15:01Speaker 3: an amazing service for people.
- 2:15:05Speaker 1: It does, and they do such a good job with
- 2:15:07Speaker 1: that show. They put together so well.
- 2:15:09Speaker 3: You know who blew me away at that show too
- 2:15:11Speaker 3: is Lucas.
- 2:15:12Speaker 1: Yeah, he's great. Who I love him. He is great.
- 2:15:15Speaker 3: People are like, oh, it's Willie Nelson's son. I'm like, oh, okay,
- 2:15:18Speaker 3: that'd be cool. And then he started saying I was like,
- 2:15:20Speaker 3: holy shit, Like this guy's fucking great.
- 2:15:25Speaker 1: He's great.
- 2:15:26Speaker 3: He's not just good, he's great.
- 2:15:28Speaker 1: Great musician and he's a great guy, sweetheart, a sweetheart,
- 2:15:32Speaker 1: super sweetheart.
- 2:15:33Speaker 3: Yeah, you have got had the pleasure of getting to
- 2:15:36Speaker 3: know him. Now. He's a really nice guy, a genuine
- 2:15:39Speaker 3: nice guy. But god can he.
- 2:15:41Speaker 1: Say, especially when when he really leans into the soul
- 2:15:45Speaker 1: more soul stuff, it just makes him shine because it's
- 2:15:49Speaker 1: just so different than what people would think it was
- 2:15:51Speaker 1: gonna be, you know.
- 2:15:52Speaker 3: Right, and his pipes.
- 2:15:54Speaker 1: Yeah, when the notes he has, I was like God,
- 2:15:58Speaker 1: And when he goes for it, he likes with his body,
- 2:16:01Speaker 1: like his whole body, like you know, he's going for
- 2:16:03Speaker 1: it and I love it. Yeah. And he does this
- 2:16:05Speaker 1: like I don't know it's gonna hurt later in life,
- 2:16:07Speaker 1: but he does this like backbind thing. He's on his knees,
- 2:16:10Speaker 1: he's like bit all the way back playing a guitar solo.
- 2:16:12Speaker 1: And I'm like, God, how does he do that? Is
- 2:16:15Speaker 1: that adrenaline or what it's that?
- 2:16:16Speaker 3: It's stretching. Yeah, it's just stretching.
- 2:16:19Speaker 1: Yeah. I could probably do that like a decade ago.
- 2:16:21Speaker 3: Not now, I bet you could.
- 2:16:23Speaker 1: I'm not going to try. Well, not on stage.
- 2:16:25Speaker 3: We must have coarse strength to be on that horse
- 2:16:28Speaker 3: when you're shooting at things. Yeah, No, stabilized oh, I'm sure.
- 2:16:32Speaker 1: Like I ride so much better when I'm doing like
- 2:16:34Speaker 1: consistent plates.
- 2:16:35Speaker 3: I did plates once with my wife. I was like, shit,
- 2:16:39Speaker 3: a lot harder. It's like yoga in a way that
- 2:16:42Speaker 3: like people think, oh, yoga, you're just going stretching, Like no, no, no,
- 2:16:45Speaker 3: like go do it. It's fucking hard. It's hard, and
- 2:16:48Speaker 3: pilates is hard. I was like, Oh, this is weird.
- 2:16:51Speaker 3: This is using weird muscles.
- 2:16:53Speaker 1: Yeah, like shaky ones, am I shaking?
- 2:16:57Speaker 3: Yeah, like stabilizing muscles. Yeah, but it's it's like a
- 2:17:00Speaker 3: really good thing to balance out other stuff, you know,
- 2:17:03Speaker 3: But that would definitely improve your core strength and allow
- 2:17:06Speaker 3: you to be able to When.
- 2:17:07Speaker 1: I first started riding, I was like, I'm still not
- 2:17:10Speaker 1: great and I still have fear, you know on a horse,
- 2:17:12Speaker 1: Like I'm just not super comfortable all the time, you know,
- 2:17:15Speaker 1: when we're going fast. So I'm just learning to work
- 2:17:18Speaker 1: up to that. But when I first started riding, I
- 2:17:20Speaker 1: didn't start riding a horse ever till I was thirty
- 2:17:22Speaker 1: years old, and I wish i'd started at four when
- 2:17:24Speaker 1: I was fearless, you know what I mean. Like, but
- 2:17:26Speaker 1: starting at thirty and like getting on this giant animal
- 2:17:30Speaker 1: and you don't know what you're doing. And my trainer
- 2:17:32Speaker 1: at the time was like, you need to do pilates
- 2:17:35Speaker 1: until I started plates and it really helped me, Like
- 2:17:37Speaker 1: it helped helped me like stabilize myself a little.
- 2:17:40Speaker 3: More interesting told you to do to help horse riding.
- 2:17:44Speaker 1: She was she was training my horses and teaching me
- 2:17:46Speaker 1: how to ride, and she was like, you do not
- 2:17:48Speaker 1: have course strength at all. You need to do pilates.
- 2:17:50Speaker 3: That's interesting that you would choose that. Huh. I guess
- 2:17:55Speaker 3: that makes sense, But I would think that there's other
- 2:17:57Speaker 3: stuff you could do too, like those You ever see
- 2:17:59Speaker 3: what a boat suit ball is?
- 2:18:00Speaker 1: You know?
- 2:18:01Speaker 3: Yeah, which standing on that ball with a flat bottom
- 2:18:04Speaker 3: to it where you like balance, Yes, and.
- 2:18:06Speaker 1: They have this, uh it's like this saddle you sit
- 2:18:09Speaker 1: on and it's for that like it it's like really
- 2:18:12Speaker 1: it's almost like one of those balls, but saddle you
- 2:18:14Speaker 1: sit on like if you're sitting on a yoga ball.
- 2:18:16Speaker 1: But oh and like like my shooting coach kinda my
- 2:18:20Speaker 1: friend Kenda, she'll tell me, get your gun belt on
- 2:18:23Speaker 1: and get your guns out and sit on your Is
- 2:18:25Speaker 1: that the yoga ball, the big one, the big work
- 2:18:27Speaker 1: up all sit on that and shoot off that.
- 2:18:32Speaker 3: Stabilize. It's all just about stabilized. Yeah, no, a lot.
- 2:18:36Speaker 3: I know a lot of people that sit at their
- 2:18:37Speaker 3: desk on all those.
- 2:18:38Speaker 1: Yeah, which is smart.
- 2:18:39Speaker 3: I guess.
- 2:18:41Speaker 1: I'm glad I don't have to sit at a desk.
- 2:18:42Speaker 1: I don't think I do well well.
- 2:18:43Speaker 3: I have to sit at this desk. But these chairs
- 2:18:45Speaker 3: they keep you upright. These are really good. They're good.
- 2:18:49Speaker 3: They're they make you sit correctly, or at least encourage
- 2:18:52Speaker 3: you to sit correctly rather than a well, when you
- 2:18:55Speaker 3: started doing that when you were thirty, how long did
- 2:18:57Speaker 3: it take before you started shooting guns off of them?
- 2:18:59Speaker 1: I just that last year. Oh okay, I mean I
- 2:19:01Speaker 1: just started last year. I started. I showed gypsy banners there,
- 2:19:06Speaker 1: like draft lazy draft horses kind of. I gotten into
- 2:19:10Speaker 1: those because I was thirty and like, I can't afford
- 2:19:13Speaker 1: to get hurt, like I'm on the road all the time,
- 2:19:15Speaker 1: so I wanted something safe to learn on before Oh
- 2:19:18Speaker 1: yeah really yeah, I mean I tried to do hunter Jumper.
- 2:19:23Speaker 1: I thought I wanted to be. I was like all excited.
- 2:19:27Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm gonna be a cowgirl at thirty years old.
- 2:19:29Speaker 1: I'm like I'm gonna finally be a cowgirl. I'm wanna
- 2:19:31Speaker 1: barrel race. Well then I learned that that's I don't
- 2:19:33Speaker 1: want a barrow race, which kind of the guns, it's
- 2:19:35Speaker 1: patterns and it's going fast around you have to go
- 2:19:37Speaker 1: around a barrel, so kind of back to that. But
- 2:19:40Speaker 1: this old cowboy trainer where I got my first horse,
- 2:19:43Speaker 1: he was like, you need to go take English lessons
- 2:19:46Speaker 1: because you need your fundamentals, because you can't. You're not
- 2:19:49Speaker 1: just gonna get in a Western sidele and act like
- 2:19:51Speaker 1: you know what you're doing. Go take lessons because English
- 2:19:53Speaker 1: is so proper.
- 2:19:54Speaker 3: What is English?
- 2:19:55Speaker 1: English? And like it's like the hunter jumpers, like the dressage,
- 2:19:59Speaker 1: it's like the very proper, you know, English writing is
- 2:20:02Speaker 1: teaches you the fundamental book I'm sitting up straight or
- 2:20:04Speaker 1: talking about to where Western is a lot more loose.
- 2:20:08Speaker 1: And so it just taught me a lot taking English lessons.
- 2:20:11Speaker 1: But I thought, I do hunter jumper, which is like
- 2:20:14Speaker 1: you know, jumping over the poles, right, And that's where
- 2:20:18Speaker 1: I really hit the ground a few times, like I
- 2:20:20Speaker 1: wasn't ready for that, you know what I mean. Yeah,
- 2:20:23Speaker 1: just it's been a cool journey. It's just I mean
- 2:20:25Speaker 1: it's a lot to learn.
- 2:20:27Speaker 3: It's a lot to learn. I'm imagining it's also like
- 2:20:30Speaker 3: rough on the body too.
- 2:20:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah it is. That's why I'm like, give me
- 2:20:35Speaker 1: your safe.
- 2:20:35Speaker 3: Is my cool?
- 2:20:36Speaker 1: My horse he is super safe. I just I don't
- 2:20:41Speaker 1: I want to learn really badly, and I want to
- 2:20:43Speaker 1: grow and be better, but I don't want to do
- 2:20:44Speaker 1: it at a certain costs, Like do you enter competitions
- 2:20:48Speaker 1: or anything. I showed my banners for ten years.
- 2:20:50Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 2:20:51Speaker 1: I just went to horse shows and like, like you.
- 2:20:54Speaker 3: Said some words, I understand, I showed.
- 2:20:58Speaker 1: That sounds dirty, you say it back, like, what's a banner? No,
- 2:21:02Speaker 1: it's my gypsy vanners are the kind of horses I have.
- 2:21:05Speaker 1: So I went and showed them. And competitions like just
- 2:21:10Speaker 1: English pleasure, Western pleasure, like just riding around the rail
- 2:21:14Speaker 1: and it's about your technique and oh okay, not like jumping.
- 2:21:19Speaker 3: Or so when it's just about.
- 2:21:23Speaker 1: It's your technique of course. Yeah. Yeah. And then and
- 2:21:28Speaker 1: then I got into the shooting and I'm not going back.
- 2:21:30Speaker 3: Are you going to do competitions with the show?
- 2:21:32Speaker 1: I did one last year just just to like get
- 2:21:34Speaker 1: my first one out of the way, and it was
- 2:21:37Speaker 1: fun as a lot of mean, scary scary as shit, honestly,
- 2:21:41Speaker 1: Like all these girls I ride with are so good,
- 2:21:44Speaker 1: Like they go one hundred miles an hour, Like I
- 2:21:47Speaker 1: gotta show you kinda like she is she is your video. Yeah,
- 2:21:51Speaker 1: she's amazing.
- 2:21:52Speaker 3: What's her last name?
- 2:21:53Speaker 1: On'sane it's l A N S E S I E
- 2:21:56Speaker 1: and G google it.
- 2:21:59Speaker 3: I'm spelling around Gmail.
- 2:22:00Speaker 1: She's amazing. And they go so fast and like it's
- 2:22:04Speaker 1: a time I mean, it's a timed event, right, So
- 2:22:07Speaker 1: you're competing just against you really like how how precise
- 2:22:12Speaker 1: and how fast you can go on her horse?
- 2:22:14Speaker 3: So you have like a green light and then you
- 2:22:15Speaker 3: go and let you go? Do they how do they
- 2:22:17Speaker 3: start you off? They you do? What do they say?
- 2:22:21Speaker 1: They flag?
- 2:22:22Speaker 3: Oh, they drop a flag and then you go and
- 2:22:24Speaker 3: then you go.
- 2:22:25Speaker 1: I didn't go that fast. I did mine in like
- 2:22:27Speaker 1: twenty eight seconds. She does it in like eight seconds. Course, Yeah,
- 2:22:34Speaker 1: it's insane. She's amazing. But but that's why it's something
- 2:22:37Speaker 1: to work towards.
- 2:22:38Speaker 3: Like how many times she wiped out?
- 2:22:40Speaker 1: Oh, she's broke down as hill, she's broken down, she
- 2:22:43Speaker 1: has cowgirl broke down. But she's still going she wiped
- 2:22:46Speaker 1: out so bad last year and just gets right back on,
- 2:22:49Speaker 1: keeps going, riding in a cast like it's cowgirl way.
- 2:22:55Speaker 3: They're tough.
- 2:22:55Speaker 1: They're tough.
- 2:22:56Speaker 3: Yeah, people are built different. They are You got any videos?
- 2:23:00Speaker 3: Here we go. I want to see this.
- 2:23:03Speaker 1: She's awesome.
- 2:23:04Speaker 3: Because I saw that you were doing that, I was like,
- 2:23:06Speaker 3: that's bananas. But it looks like fun.
- 2:23:09Speaker 1: Is fun?
- 2:23:10Speaker 3: Do they have one of those where they do bow
- 2:23:11Speaker 3: and arrow?
- 2:23:12Speaker 1: They have bone arrow, they have bow and arrows, rifles.
- 2:23:20Speaker 1: The rifles are crazy.
- 2:23:21Speaker 3: Imagine this lady running up to you on a ranch
- 2:23:24Speaker 3: with a pistol in her hand. She is legit. That's crazy.
- 2:23:30Speaker 1: He's one of my besties.
- 2:23:34Speaker 3: Is there a high speed where they're not showing it?
- 2:23:35Speaker 1: Here?
- 2:23:35Speaker 3: It goes? Oh wow, that's crazy. Oh man, it's awful.
- 2:23:43Speaker 1: She is a literal never misses.
- 2:23:45Speaker 3: Oh now I get it. Okay, this looks like fun.
- 2:23:48Speaker 1: There's eighty three patterns, so the horse never runs the same.
- 2:23:53Speaker 3: Wait a minute, how is she shooting that many times?
- 2:23:57Speaker 1: It's five shots and a gun change, so you have
- 2:24:00Speaker 1: to change change your gun.
- 2:24:01Speaker 3: Yeah, so how many boat? How many shots is it total?
- 2:24:04Speaker 3: In one of these rounds where you run ten so okay,
- 2:24:08Speaker 3: so you have ten things. It's like out real, but yeah,
- 2:24:11Speaker 3: ten shots.
- 2:24:12Speaker 1: But yeah, so that's my bestie who's teaching me how
- 2:24:15Speaker 1: to do it.
- 2:24:15Speaker 3: That's awesome. Well that's how to learn.
- 2:24:18Speaker 1: She's awesome.
- 2:24:19Speaker 3: Learn from a psycho completely. You got to have a
- 2:24:24Speaker 3: serious screw loose to be good at that. Wow, Oh
- 2:24:28Speaker 3: my god, look at this dude. Oh this is her?
- 2:24:32Speaker 1: Wow?
- 2:24:34Speaker 3: Yeah? How about zero seven zero? I don't know what
- 2:24:43Speaker 3: those numbers mean, but it looks awesome. She looks like fun.
- 2:24:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really fun, and it's uh, I don't know.
- 2:24:51Speaker 3: It's a very country thing to be guess what, yes, what,
- 2:24:58Speaker 3: it's perfect, it's perfect.
- 2:25:00Speaker 1: We talked about chickens, we talked about dogs, We talked
- 2:25:03Speaker 1: about goods on horses, like.
- 2:25:05Speaker 3: Archery, hunting exactly. That's a very but that's a very
- 2:25:12Speaker 3: country activity because it's not just horse riding. It's horse
- 2:25:15Speaker 3: riding with pistols. It's it's funny that I didn't know
- 2:25:20Speaker 3: that that was such a big thing. See if there's
- 2:25:22Speaker 3: one where they do it off with bows and arrows,
- 2:25:25Speaker 3: I want to see that.
- 2:25:26Speaker 1: It's crazy. I haven't seen that in person.
- 2:25:28Speaker 3: But the riffles like, oh, rifles, they do too.
- 2:25:31Speaker 1: You do it with raffles and you don't have rains
- 2:25:34Speaker 1: because you got used two hands to shoot the ruffles. Right,
- 2:25:37Speaker 1: they're riding with their legs.
- 2:25:39Speaker 3: Whoa right, right, and the horses making wild turns, so
- 2:25:42Speaker 3: you have to crazy strengthen your legs to Oh yeah,
- 2:25:47Speaker 3: so you can find one. Why they're doing it bows
- 2:25:49Speaker 3: and arrows, because I know that that's how the Mongols
- 2:25:53Speaker 3: did it. That's how the Commanches did it. They learned
- 2:25:55Speaker 3: how to shoot while they were they they learned how
- 2:25:58Speaker 3: to time the release of their arrow while the horses
- 2:26:01Speaker 3: in the air. They had the least amount of disturbance.
- 2:26:06Speaker 1: Something like that.
- 2:26:07Speaker 3: What is this one? Epic equestrian mounted archery? But are
- 2:26:12Speaker 3: they Is this a competition.
- 2:26:16Speaker 1: Of them?
- 2:26:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, so they have targets. But this looks like
- 2:26:20Speaker 3: a British horseback archery.
- 2:26:22Speaker 1: That's she's in a dressage saddle doing that.
- 2:26:25Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I look at this. The guy's got the
- 2:26:28Speaker 3: crazy Mongol hat on too, that makes it look at that.
- 2:26:35Speaker 1: That's cool hobby.
- 2:26:38Speaker 3: No, I don't funk with horses. It's just I like them.
- 2:26:44Speaker 3: I love them. I think they're awesome. I don't want
- 2:26:46Speaker 3: to ride them. Oh that's cool. That's at Yeah, so
- 2:26:50Speaker 3: very similar, similar kind of deal. Taran Tactical for horses, Yeah,
- 2:26:54Speaker 3: exactly exactly. Taran Tactical is a tactical range in California
- 2:26:59Speaker 3: where go and that's where count of Reeves learned how
- 2:27:01Speaker 3: to shoot guns. I used to go there when I
- 2:27:03Speaker 3: lived in California. You do it like shoot already d Yeah,
- 2:27:07Speaker 3: you go through a tactical course.
- 2:27:09Speaker 1: That's what that. That's where we shoot out in hill is.
- 2:27:12Speaker 1: It's a bit called Benevery Shooting Facility, and it's like
- 2:27:15Speaker 1: all of that. It's any anything that can be shot
- 2:27:17Speaker 1: is shot there. M m. And they so kind to
- 2:27:20Speaker 1: hide and build a rodeo arena so we could do
- 2:27:23Speaker 1: our balloons.
- 2:27:25Speaker 3: That would be the coolest thing to have on your property,
- 2:27:27Speaker 3: have a tactical range right on your property.
- 2:27:31Speaker 1: This place is huge and it's out there in the desert,
- 2:27:33Speaker 1: so like there's plenty of space to do all things.
- 2:27:35Speaker 3: Well, that's what I was thinking about that the shooting
- 2:27:38Speaker 3: pistols on the horses, Like when did they figure out
- 2:27:41Speaker 3: to not use bullets because.
- 2:27:45Speaker 1: Something happened and the horses where you're plugs too, which
- 2:27:48Speaker 1: is great.
- 2:27:48Speaker 3: That's they probably had to figure that out later in
- 2:27:50Speaker 3: life too.
- 2:27:51Speaker 1: Horses where your plugs?
- 2:27:52Speaker 3: But did they figure out how many people got shot
- 2:27:54Speaker 3: before they realized, Hey, we probably shouldn't be using real
- 2:27:56Speaker 3: bullets to shoot these balloons. Yeah, black powder might be
- 2:27:59Speaker 3: a better call because you got all those people in
- 2:28:00Speaker 3: the audience and then you got someone.
- 2:28:04Speaker 1: It is and she catches hell for it. People are like,
- 2:28:07Speaker 1: you can't be She's like, it's spectator safe, it's save
- 2:28:10Speaker 1: for the horses. Every word's are your plugs? It's black powder?
- 2:28:12Speaker 3: Who gets mad?
- 2:28:13Speaker 1: People? Everybody wants to bitch about something, right, you know,
- 2:28:16Speaker 1: But that's just how you would know more than anything.
- 2:28:20Speaker 1: I don't need to tell you.
- 2:28:23Speaker 3: You can't make everybody happy. It's impossible. You can't, and
- 2:28:26Speaker 3: you're always going to make someone mad. As long as
- 2:28:28Speaker 3: you relate that, you'd be okay. And as long as
- 2:28:31Speaker 3: you stay offline.
- 2:28:32Speaker 1: Yeah, stay off that TikTok Stay out of that river,
