- 0:23Speaker 1: Landing, Brown mad h, Well, my long your cleanings with evenings?
- 1:48Speaker 1: What we I guess you guys didn't expect to see
- 1:52Speaker 1: me this evening. I just wanted to come on and
- 1:57Speaker 1: check in with you guys. So we're gonna call this
- 2:00Speaker 1: segment weldness will Wednesday. My co host Cornell is online
- 2:05Speaker 1: with me and we're just going to be shooting the
- 2:08Speaker 1: breeze tonight. The reason why I want to do a
- 2:13Speaker 1: wellness check is because my grandson called me today. He's
- 2:25Speaker 1: twelve years old. His dad passed November tenth, with is
- 2:33Speaker 1: my son, and he was heavy a bad day today.
- 2:40Speaker 2: And so.
- 2:44Speaker 1: When I got the call from my daughter because my
- 2:48Speaker 1: daughter works at his school, and she was like, Mama,
- 2:52Speaker 1: I need you to talk to Kyler. And I said, well,
- 2:55Speaker 1: what's going on with him? And she said, just face tiny,
- 3:00Speaker 1: So I faced timing and I said, oh, hey, Kyler Brown,
- 3:06Speaker 1: what's going on? How you know?
- 3:08Speaker 2: How you doing?
- 3:09Speaker 1: And he said I missed my daddy. I said, oh wow,
- 3:18Speaker 1: and he was just looking and so I couldn't. I
- 3:26Speaker 1: had to put whatever my feelings was when he told
- 3:32Speaker 1: me that, I had to put that to the back
- 3:34Speaker 1: burner because now my mind was focused on him, making
- 3:39Speaker 1: sure his well being was okay and that he understood
- 3:44Speaker 1: that his dad loved him, and his dad is he's
- 3:51Speaker 1: just resting right now, so you know, I was like, what,
- 3:56Speaker 1: what's wrong? And he just like you can see the
- 4:01Speaker 1: sadness in his face. Since my son transitioned almost it'll
- 4:07Speaker 1: be two years in November, my grandson has this sad look.
- 4:14Speaker 1: We interact with and we get him every weekend to
- 4:18Speaker 1: spend time with us and just try to keep him
- 4:22Speaker 1: in a good mood, you know, let him know that
- 4:24Speaker 1: he's very that he's loved. But today, this is the
- 4:31Speaker 1: second time I heard of him at school crying like this.
- 4:37Speaker 1: So out today I was able to talk to him,
- 4:40Speaker 1: and I was able to explain to him that when
- 4:46Speaker 1: his dad was a little boy, Kyle dealt with asthma.
- 4:52Speaker 1: He was a chronic asthmatic, and I shared with him
- 4:59Speaker 1: a little history about how his dad started going in
- 5:04Speaker 1: and out the hospital at the age of one, and
- 5:08Speaker 1: he would stay kill stay in the hospital for about
- 5:11Speaker 1: a week. He had his last asthma tack that put
- 5:18Speaker 1: him in ICU for fourteen days in two thousand and three.
- 5:26Speaker 1: They didn't know why he wasn't getting no oxygen or anything.
- 5:31Speaker 1: So they had to go inside to do a bronchotomy
- 5:37Speaker 1: to see what was inside of his lungs and stuff.
- 5:40Speaker 1: But once they went down there, once they got in there,
- 5:43Speaker 1: they didn't see no blockage, They didn't see anything, and they,
- 5:47Speaker 1: you know, they didn't know what was going on. But
- 5:54Speaker 1: you know, it was just by the grace of God
- 5:56Speaker 1: that you know, everything began to change and his oxygen
- 6:03Speaker 1: levels being able was started coming up. So I dealt
- 6:09Speaker 1: with that, and then I went on and I explained
- 6:13Speaker 1: to him about his dad's heart. When Kyle, I think
- 6:21Speaker 1: he probably was about six or something like that, that's
- 6:25Speaker 1: when I found out that the right side of his
- 6:29Speaker 1: heart was weak. But they never did his pediatrician never
- 6:36Speaker 1: did focus on that. It was always his asthma because
- 6:41Speaker 1: that's what kept him in and out the hospital. Kyle
- 6:49Speaker 1: was on I want to say, five medications a day,
- 6:56Speaker 1: but as he got older, it seemed like his medicine
- 7:03Speaker 1: kept increasing and didn't decrease, but it went up. So
- 7:07Speaker 1: I explained to him that when Kyle transition, Kyle was
- 7:16Speaker 1: on properly, he was taking fifteen pills a day. He
- 7:21Speaker 1: had one he had like probably about three water pills,
- 7:26Speaker 1: he had heart medicine, he had high blood pressure medicine
- 7:33Speaker 1: because his blood pressure had started going down. So when
- 7:37Speaker 1: his blood pressure went down, we would hold the heart medicine.
- 7:41Speaker 1: When when his blood pressure was too high, we had
- 7:44Speaker 1: to hold the heart medicine. So it was just like
- 7:46Speaker 1: a we were just going back and forth. He was
- 7:51Speaker 1: taking his pulse every day, his blood pressure, making sure
- 7:55Speaker 1: he was okay, you know, but he still did what
- 7:59Speaker 1: he wanted to do. So I explained to that. I
- 8:03Speaker 1: explained all of that to Kyler, and I just told him,
- 8:07Speaker 1: I said, Kyler, I said, you know, your daddy was
- 8:14Speaker 1: just sick. His heart was real sick. And when he
- 8:20Speaker 1: went to sleep that night, you know, he just had
- 8:25Speaker 1: a conversation with God. God seen how tired he was,
- 8:29Speaker 1: and he just talked to him and he Kyle seen
- 8:37Speaker 1: something better, and he looked at this world and he
- 8:42Speaker 1: said goodbye. I said, even though he didn't get a
- 8:46Speaker 1: chance to say goodbye to us that night, you know,
- 8:54Speaker 1: we had to still keep going. And I want you
- 8:58Speaker 1: to know that your dad loves you. And he was
- 9:03Speaker 1: like okay, Granny, And I said, and you know what
- 9:06Speaker 1: used to irritate me when your daddy used to be
- 9:09Speaker 1: making them rooster sounds early in the morning when I'm
- 9:15Speaker 1: leaving to go to work at boys start crying like
- 9:17Speaker 1: a rooster and used to make me mad and just
- 9:21Speaker 1: to get him laugh. And I said, do you be
- 9:22Speaker 1: hearing roosters? And he said yes, and I said, okay,
- 9:27Speaker 1: I said, so when you hear a rooster croach, just
- 9:29Speaker 1: say hey, dad, and just smile. I said, just think
- 9:33Speaker 1: about the good times that you had with you. Know,
- 9:38Speaker 1: That's how my day was. And but this morning I
- 9:42Speaker 1: did wake up and I thought of him, and I
- 9:46Speaker 1: decided to write a poem to him and release it
- 9:51Speaker 1: like that. I was personally, I put myself on an island.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I'm not gonna go into too much of it because
- 10:01Speaker 1: guess what. We have a podcast on this Sunday called
- 10:09Speaker 1: Healing Voices how to Navigate through Grief. So if you
- 10:14Speaker 1: guys want to hear more, because I'm gonna share more.
- 10:22Speaker 1: I don't want to share too much. I just want
- 10:24Speaker 1: to give you that little spill and just tell you
- 10:29Speaker 1: how my grandson Dave was going and how my day went.
- 10:33Speaker 1: You know, we're in the middle of the week, and
- 10:36Speaker 1: I know some of you guys probably had stressful jobs
- 10:40Speaker 1: where you at the point where you ready probably knock
- 10:44Speaker 1: you know, probably want to cuss out a coworker or
- 10:48Speaker 1: or just do something silly, you know, just take time
- 10:53Speaker 1: to do a couple of deep breaths and reevaluated. See
- 11:00Speaker 1: how see if it's going to be beneficial if you
- 11:04Speaker 1: cussing that person out. I know, with me, sometimes I felt, well,
- 11:08Speaker 1: you know, when I was like that, I did kind
- 11:15Speaker 1: of feel kind of good after I gave a a
- 11:17Speaker 1: person a good talking to. I did, you know, once
- 11:20Speaker 1: I released it, you know, I felt kind of good.
- 11:24Speaker 1: But now you know, I don't change because I don't
- 11:29Speaker 1: want people thinking that I'm a mad that I'm a maniac.
- 11:33Speaker 1: But I'm gonna let my co hosts jump in real
- 11:38Speaker 1: quick so we can get this on a go. Cortnell,
- 11:43Speaker 1: how is your wellness Wednesday going over there, ma'am?
- 11:48Speaker 2: I am doing very very great. Thank you very much,
- 11:52Speaker 2: ma'am for me being here tonight. And I was just
- 11:55Speaker 2: listening to you telling the story about your grandson, ma'am,
- 11:59Speaker 2: and that's very touching because you know, me losing my
- 12:03Speaker 2: mom at age nine and then turning around losing my
- 12:05Speaker 2: dad at age steen, ma'am, I can relate to how
- 12:08Speaker 2: he feels. I mean a lot of times people see
- 12:12Speaker 2: us and think that everything in my life, but deep
- 12:14Speaker 2: down inside of us with hurt, losing a family, a
- 12:18Speaker 2: loved one, a mom or dad or son, you know,
- 12:21Speaker 2: just there the feeling just never go away. And no
- 12:25Speaker 2: matter how people try to console us steal, the feeling
- 12:28Speaker 2: is there. We go to sleepers, there, we wake up,
- 12:30Speaker 2: this stay, we do, whatever we do is still there.
- 12:33Speaker 2: So you know, man, he go on in life. Ma'am.
- 12:37Speaker 2: You know he's gonna come to understand that, you know,
- 12:41Speaker 2: Dad a guy. God have better plans for us in
- 12:44Speaker 2: situations like this because God don't like to see nobody's stuff.
- 12:49Speaker 2: And that's a good explanation that you gave him, you
- 12:52Speaker 2: know about hearing rooster. So now you know when he
- 12:55Speaker 2: makes ruster sound, he can smile and think about his dad,
- 12:58Speaker 2: you know, to know that he has a better place
- 13:00Speaker 2: and that he's up looking down on us and want
- 13:02Speaker 2: him to do better in life. Yeah, go to school,
- 13:05Speaker 2: get you great, you know. And that was very touching, man,
- 13:08Speaker 2: because a lot of us in here, you know, inmates,
- 13:11Speaker 2: you know, we in prison, but a lot of us
- 13:13Speaker 2: have been incorsrated. But da is in decades and we've
- 13:15Speaker 2: lost a lot of family members. And even though no
- 13:18Speaker 2: matter how strong we try to be, you know, when
- 13:21Speaker 2: the lights go out at night, man, we try to
- 13:24Speaker 2: because that's how serious it is looking the loved one. Man.
- 13:28Speaker 2: You know, that's my kids. It's in the family of
- 13:30Speaker 2: the mom's or dads, you know, being locked up and
- 13:32Speaker 2: combined like this. And uh, you know, I was looking
- 13:36Speaker 2: at a podcast last night about the prison show about
- 13:39Speaker 2: people on death boo, and it's so quiet, the fact
- 13:42Speaker 2: that that that's all they get is quiet, and they
- 13:44Speaker 2: don't have no noise, no teaving, no ready, don't know
- 13:47Speaker 2: anything to keep them you know, saying back then and
- 13:51Speaker 2: lock up. And all they do is just sit there
- 13:54Speaker 2: twenty four hours a day, locked up waiting to be executed. Man,
- 13:58Speaker 2: So that you know, deep like that, you know, to
- 14:02Speaker 2: even you know, see that podcast like that and just
- 14:05Speaker 2: imagine what them people can be going through as opposed
- 14:08Speaker 2: to what we go through. So we all go through
- 14:11Speaker 2: the same things in this world, man, and for as grief, right,
- 14:15Speaker 2: and we have to find strengths, you know, and we
- 14:18Speaker 2: have to go to the power than usus longer. We
- 14:22Speaker 2: have to see that. But you know, the feeling is there.
- 14:26Speaker 2: So your grandson he held the feeling and the move
- 14:29Speaker 2: right then and there because who knows, his father's spirit
- 14:33Speaker 2: probably touched him at that at that time, and you know,
- 14:36Speaker 2: hey he telt it. We don't know that, man, but
- 14:39Speaker 2: you know the spirit of God work it touched him
- 14:42Speaker 2: at that time and that's why he said he missed it.
- 14:44Speaker 2: That So we do all go through it, man, and
- 14:47Speaker 2: we miss some mans and my mom and dad and
- 14:49Speaker 2: stuff like that. But you know he's gonna be the right,
- 14:52Speaker 2: just you know one thing he's gonna be.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, because grief is real, sneaky. That's you
- 15:00Speaker 1: can't sneak up on you at any time. You can
- 15:05Speaker 1: be sleep because and it just pop up. It didn't
- 15:10Speaker 1: you know. I was sleep and I was like, nah,
- 15:13Speaker 1: I got to get up and go to work. I
- 15:15Speaker 1: ain't ready to deal with this right now, you know.
- 15:19Speaker 1: But I went on and I went through it, you
- 15:22Speaker 1: know so much. Not I don't. I don't do a
- 15:26Speaker 1: lot of crying no more. But I'm starting to live,
- 15:38Speaker 1: if if I can say it like that, because I was,
- 15:41Speaker 1: like I said, I wasn't living. I was just I
- 15:44Speaker 1: don't know what I was doing. I was just here.
- 15:47Speaker 1: We're gonna say, I was just here. And now, you know,
- 15:54Speaker 1: when you have people that's loving on you and that
- 15:58Speaker 1: see that one, it's the best for you. You don't
- 16:03Speaker 1: want to let them down. You want to push through,
- 16:11Speaker 1: you want to keep going. You know, each day that
- 16:14Speaker 1: God wakes us up, we wake up with a purpose
- 16:18Speaker 1: and instead of just laying around and you know, feeling sorry,
- 16:23Speaker 1: because why are we feeling sorry for our Basically we're
- 16:29Speaker 1: feeling sorry for ourselves. That's the way I that's the
- 16:32Speaker 1: way I'm starting.
- 16:33Speaker 2: To take it.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Why. You know, he's he's smiling, and you know he
- 16:39Speaker 1: probably like, Mama, what's wrong with you?
- 16:41Speaker 2: You?
- 16:42Speaker 1: You done lost your mind? You know, you need to
- 16:48Speaker 1: be getting yourself together for when you get ready to transition.
- 16:54Speaker 1: So you know, and you know, I'm I'm getting back.
- 16:59Speaker 1: I feel ourselves getting stronger each day. Well, we're gonna
- 17:03Speaker 1: say that for Sunday. I don't want to talk too much.
- 17:07Speaker 1: What are we talking about tonight?
- 17:11Speaker 2: Well, man, we're talking about you know, how individuals in
- 17:15Speaker 2: here are trying to maintain and you know, so these
- 17:18Speaker 2: program and how to you know, stay strong. You know,
- 17:21Speaker 2: in the midst of this, you know, looking systems we're
- 17:24Speaker 2: dealing with, you know, just man in general, because even
- 17:27Speaker 2: we we go through things, man, just you know, just
- 17:29Speaker 2: because man, we we got these old massages that I'm
- 17:32Speaker 2: a very powerful, strong guy with this ego that I'm
- 17:35Speaker 2: a bad guy. However, you know, like I say, ma'am,
- 17:38Speaker 2: you know, we go through things too. Man. It's very
- 17:41Speaker 2: very unique because we have to try to adjust to
- 17:44Speaker 2: the way things are too now, you know, to try
- 17:46Speaker 2: to stay strong, not just for ourselves but for y'all
- 17:49Speaker 2: to us out there right were incarcerated it, so we
- 17:53Speaker 2: still have to try to find a way to stay
- 17:54Speaker 2: strong and try to find our purpose. Like they say,
- 17:57Speaker 2: walking in purpose. Well, we have to try to find
- 17:59Speaker 2: that too, man. So tonight, man, we're gonna find some
- 18:02Speaker 2: guys who might want to come on tonight and just
- 18:03Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying a little situation about you know,
- 18:07Speaker 2: how they feeling, what they're going to do, and how
- 18:09Speaker 2: they're being strong. Man. So, uh, my brother Holiday he
- 18:13Speaker 2: comes on tonight, and uh, you know, these guys just
- 18:18Speaker 2: want to come on and you know, tell a little
- 18:20Speaker 2: short you know, how they're feeling tonight and how you
- 18:23Speaker 2: know life is for them. So you know, that's what
- 18:26Speaker 2: we're going to be doing tonight man.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, that's cool, you know. And then you know,
- 18:31Speaker 1: I wanted to touch on about some of these groups
- 18:35Speaker 1: that's out here saying that they being a voice for
- 18:40Speaker 1: the men and women that's wrong fleet incarcerated and over
- 18:47Speaker 1: sentences and stuff. Okay, okay, and hopefully I can do this,
- 18:55Speaker 1: you know, hopefully I can do this without mentioning any names.
- 19:00Speaker 1: You know, I just feel that some of them are
- 19:04Speaker 1: full of you know, they some of it. Some of
- 19:09Speaker 1: them are just full of it. I don't think that
- 19:14Speaker 1: they're really looking out for looking out for the ones
- 19:21Speaker 1: I think that's in there in that situation, and then
- 19:26Speaker 1: the ones that have been wrongfully convicted and there been
- 19:31Speaker 1: they have been exonerated. I understand that they come out
- 19:37Speaker 1: and they want to get they want to salvash, salvash
- 19:43Speaker 1: some of their life. They want to get out there
- 19:45Speaker 1: and they want to get to work and in you know,
- 19:47Speaker 1: they want to make things happen for themselves. But they
- 19:55Speaker 1: leave promises. They start leaving promises to the men's that's
- 20:00Speaker 1: still fighting is wrong for conviction. Oh you know, we're
- 20:03Speaker 1: gonna help you when we get out and whoop the
- 20:06Speaker 1: whoop this, but then you don't come through, you get.
- 20:09Speaker 2: You give people hope, You give people hope.
- 20:12Speaker 1: And then you snatch it away from it.
- 20:16Speaker 2: That's right, that's.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Right, And that right there, I don't feel that's fair
- 20:20Speaker 1: because they be counting on you because you don't told them.
- 20:26Speaker 1: When I get to the other side, you know, I'm
- 20:29Speaker 1: gonna make sure this happened. But when you get to
- 20:33Speaker 1: the other side, you forget about them, your promise to them.
- 20:42Speaker 1: And yeah, and we understand that, we understand that you
- 20:45Speaker 1: have a life, We understand that you've been gone thirty
- 20:48Speaker 1: five plus years and stuff, but don't leave. Don't give
- 20:53Speaker 1: a person false hope. If you're gonna do something, you're
- 20:59Speaker 1: gonna you are you just saying you can't do it?
- 21:07Speaker 2: Okay, yes, ma'am, Yes, ma'am. Well that would be a
- 21:12Speaker 2: good topic too, Mana, because you know, I've worked with
- 21:15Speaker 2: a lot of guys who got exonerated man Bridge Miller
- 21:18Speaker 2: earned so many job the name of a lot of
- 21:21Speaker 2: guys who've gotten exonerated and have gotten out by him,
- 21:24Speaker 2: and you know they've established some litw programs or whatever
- 21:28Speaker 2: they did is man But you know, when it came
- 21:30Speaker 2: time to reach back and let's talk about the issues
- 21:33Speaker 2: of how they got there and how they got exonerated.
- 21:36Speaker 2: And it's hard for these guys that come back to
- 21:38Speaker 2: the paper, you know. And it after takes me to
- 21:41Speaker 2: see that these same guys, you know that I stayed
- 21:43Speaker 2: up night and they working on a lot of guys
- 21:45Speaker 2: tastes and hear this. I can't even reach out to
- 21:47Speaker 2: another guy to get them to come and join me
- 21:50Speaker 2: at the table and let's talk about what's wrong with
- 21:52Speaker 2: out from the justice system. Because the state legislators and
- 21:55Speaker 2: the intendent invited some of these same guys to the
- 21:59Speaker 2: capitol to talk about what is wrong with the criminal
- 22:03Speaker 2: justice system, and all they could say is that, you know,
- 22:06Speaker 2: we have a broken system, but they're not identifying exactly
- 22:09Speaker 2: what was wrong with our system. So you know, yes, ma'am,
- 22:13Speaker 2: that's the good point to be made. The same with
- 22:15Speaker 2: a lot of advocacy boots, ma'am. You know, you know,
- 22:18Speaker 2: I guess right now, you know a lot of advocacy
- 22:20Speaker 2: boots man are only fighting to you know, bring a
- 22:23Speaker 2: willness to the families that you know, incorporating individuals, and
- 22:26Speaker 2: they are not willing to put the footwork in, ma'am
- 22:29Speaker 2: to margin some of the courthouses and the district attorney's
- 22:32Speaker 2: offices and the governor's offices and the state representness officers.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Then the demand for better chances than our come the
- 22:38Speaker 2: justice system. I mean, you know, it's one thing to
- 22:41Speaker 2: say something, but it's another thing to put in the
- 22:43Speaker 2: footwork for mamson. Yes, ma'am. That would be a good topic, ma'am,
- 22:46Speaker 2: And I would be willing to engage with you on
- 22:49Speaker 2: that tonight.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Man. Yeah, cause you know now you talk we talk
- 22:54Speaker 1: about this all the time, you know how we definitely
- 22:59Speaker 1: talk about James Legate a lot we have. I had
- 23:08Speaker 1: people ask to me, well, how do you talk to them?
- 23:11Speaker 2: How? You know?
- 23:12Speaker 1: They want to know how do I get in contact
- 23:15Speaker 1: with them? These men's are in your state. You would
- 23:24Speaker 1: think that you would reach out to them, because I'm
- 23:29Speaker 1: here that you that the men are reaching out to them,
- 23:35Speaker 1: but they don't get no respond I was in that
- 23:39Speaker 1: situation when with my husband, when I reached out to
- 23:46Speaker 1: someone and they never did respond back to me until
- 23:51Speaker 1: the following year. A couple of months after that the
- 23:54Speaker 1: following year, but about the time they responded act we
- 24:00Speaker 1: had started we had lunch. Let's talk about it. And
- 24:05Speaker 1: one thing I always tell the man's when I talk
- 24:10Speaker 1: to them is that I can't promise you nothing. The
- 24:13Speaker 1: only thing I can do is get your story out.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Let people, Let bring awareness to your story what's going on,
- 24:26Speaker 1: And a lot of them will be like, okay, you
- 24:29Speaker 1: know that's all we want. We just want to be heard.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Okay, yes, ma'am, let's thank you, ma'am. That's the truth.
- 24:40Speaker 2: A lot of us don't have no body to stand
- 24:43Speaker 2: up for us. We can't reach out to nobody from
- 24:46Speaker 2: here that's wanting to share our stories. Nobody's going to
- 24:49Speaker 2: put in any footwork forwards on, nobody to show that
- 24:52Speaker 2: we have been over there only convicted. Ma'am. We are
- 24:56Speaker 2: really dealing with the status broken system in United States, man,
- 25:01Speaker 2: you know, not just in sections but everywhere. Man, you know,
- 25:04Speaker 2: because our sister have gotten so relaxed on, you know,
- 25:07Speaker 2: the Mars trillion dollar enterprise that these people are are
- 25:10Speaker 2: making a much man. So you know, like I said,
- 25:13Speaker 2: with that, yes ma'am, we can basically get into an
- 25:15Speaker 2: engagement about that. Man, and I have some content on
- 25:18Speaker 2: that I was published and just finding off his lia
- 25:21Speaker 2: manam about that, so I would be willing to get in,
- 25:24Speaker 2: get engaged with you and some of that too. Man.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Okay, Then, so I just heard that we have a
- 25:29Speaker 1: minute left.
- 25:30Speaker 2: So yeah, I'm gonna call back back now, Yes, ma'am
- 25:34Speaker 2: and muster Holliday can get a few words in. Ms
- 25:39Speaker 2: mcnarry can't do that way. We can go ahead and
- 25:41Speaker 2: get ready clothes out. But I go in and put
- 25:43Speaker 2: a few words in a dollar we're talking about.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Okay, man, Okay, then so I will be sitting here
- 25:49Speaker 1: waiting for you to call back. I didn't have a
- 25:52Speaker 1: commercial to go to. I didn't do nothing for a
- 25:54Speaker 1: commercial song. Okay, I guess I see her.
- 25:57Speaker 2: I'll be right. I'll be right back, man.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Okay, ipy waiting on the color head hold.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Up, you show me?
- 26:20Speaker 1: Oh somebody downy, roll down your soul after the switch
- 26:28Speaker 1: of my soul?
- 26:29Speaker 2: All hello, shine.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Away way from me.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Till I get old yet get hold I Yeah.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Well we're back and we're just waiting for Cornell to come.
- 27:13Speaker 1: You know, I was just sitting here just listening to
- 27:17Speaker 1: that song and watching the men's faces come up. One
- 27:22Speaker 1: of them is my husband, and just just thinking, you know,
- 27:29Speaker 1: while like.
- 27:32Speaker 2: They give.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Damn. It's unbelievable of what they go through, what they
- 27:44Speaker 1: deal with. You know, here they're here, they are fighting
- 27:49Speaker 1: for their freedom when they shouldn't be in there, when
- 27:53Speaker 1: they was fossily. It's accused of doing something and now
- 28:01Speaker 1: they fighting and it's gonna take money to get them out.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Some of these men's had some of these men's had
- 28:19Speaker 1: had been timed, has been time board with the courts.
- 28:26Speaker 1: They say they don't exalt, exalted all their appeals, but
- 28:30Speaker 1: you know they still they still fight and they still
- 28:34Speaker 1: trying to find their little ounce, their little loophole. Some
- 28:40Speaker 1: of these states to say that we're gonna take for
- 28:45Speaker 1: for Denver. You know, they revised their feeling the murdered
- 28:53Speaker 1: lost statue, but it's not retroactive. So for the ones
- 28:57Speaker 1: that's getting charged with, well, it's not even fel any
- 29:02Speaker 1: murdered no more. They made it a class too offense.
- 29:07Speaker 1: So that I believe the sentence is forty years. There's
- 29:13Speaker 1: not no life sentence on there. But the ones that
- 29:17Speaker 1: went in before it was revived are serving a life
- 29:24Speaker 1: sentence and they are the ones that's fighting to come
- 29:31Speaker 1: home and they're innocent. I don't think that's fair. So
- 29:41Speaker 1: I have I'm very passionate about what I do. You know,
- 29:47Speaker 1: our criminal justice system it works in some cases, in
- 29:58Speaker 1: other cases it doesn't work. And we see that and
- 30:02Speaker 1: we hear it. We have Cornell back with us. Welcome back, Cornell,
- 30:10Speaker 1: Thank you very much.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Okay, Well, I have brother Holiday right here. Basically this
- 30:15Speaker 2: situation is basically in line with what you were just
- 30:18Speaker 2: speaking about. Maw. Yeah. The individual has been wrong for
- 30:21Speaker 2: been overly you know, wrongly convicted and sens to an
- 30:25Speaker 2: amount of sixty years now for a crime that doesn't
- 30:27Speaker 2: meet the punishment, ma'am. And he would like to, you know,
- 30:30Speaker 2: take a few minutes to tell your history, ma'am. So
- 30:32Speaker 2: I would like to bring him on first, and that
- 30:35Speaker 2: way I can go ahead and get with you and
- 30:36Speaker 2: we can kind of talk a little bit about the
- 30:38Speaker 2: other party.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Okay, we're gonna we're gonna give him probably about five
- 30:42Speaker 1: six minutes, you know.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Okay, man, okay, and we can do that. But here yougo.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Hello, Hello, mister Holliday.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Hello, miss doing.
- 30:57Speaker 1: I'm doing good in yourself.
- 31:01Speaker 2: I know what I'm saying. Less that's good.
- 31:04Speaker 1: So so let's talk what you want to talk about?
- 31:10Speaker 2: Uh yeah, I'd like to uh first, for I'd like
- 31:12Speaker 2: to induce myself my name and tell you of the
- 31:14Speaker 2: joe I them forming across AFT at the media's union,
- 31:18Speaker 2: and I'm an old for forty nine years old and
- 31:21Speaker 2: the like to discussed the few things by my kith
- 31:24Speaker 2: nineteen I mean two thousand and thirteen, I was at
- 31:30Speaker 2: our reader but rested on some charges by being incarcerated
- 31:35Speaker 2: between two thy twenty thirteen and now I'm held right now.
- 31:39Speaker 2: I've been foss a convicted and put up the application
- 31:44Speaker 2: and I was senter for fixty years the finmament ten
- 31:46Speaker 2: Department of Criminal Justice system. But due to the fact
- 31:50Speaker 2: of the justice system, I was forced to have to
- 31:53Speaker 2: go trial because I was but I'm I was suppose
- 32:00Speaker 2: tried because I know I committed the crime. They try
- 32:03Speaker 2: to say that I committed, but at the time was
- 32:06Speaker 2: that during that time, I was trying to have a
- 32:10Speaker 2: monology prefamed me for trial, and I felt like that
- 32:12Speaker 2: she's just gonna ceall out rights right off for me,
- 32:14Speaker 2: but then making sentence for me, making sure enough I'm
- 32:18Speaker 2: convicted for a Burke application that I may not committed,
- 32:20Speaker 2: because then that the citizen phase and that the guilt
- 32:24Speaker 2: that is a phase of trial at the gifts that
- 32:26Speaker 2: the phase trial it was extremis offense was brought up
- 32:29Speaker 2: about certain brooks that was going on by how I
- 32:31Speaker 2: got involved in this situation because I was the third
- 32:34Speaker 2: boiler buying supposed to Mercy Dykes off the street and
- 32:38Speaker 2: at that time when the Brucey Dykes was puner, they
- 32:40Speaker 2: were trying to say that the same day the house
- 32:42Speaker 2: got keeped in. But what led to that? What't make
- 32:47Speaker 2: y'all think that I was actually pron that committed the scribe?
- 32:51Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. I bought the stuff I
- 32:52Speaker 2: was treated. I just took somebody to punt it because
- 32:55Speaker 2: then we ain't had no identifications, so at that time
- 32:58Speaker 2: I had to be the one to go take the
- 32:59Speaker 2: punt form. So they try to connect me to this
- 33:02Speaker 2: burglar application and said my mother. But the other one
- 33:05Speaker 2: they couldn't. They couldn't actually make me to them make
- 33:08Speaker 2: the same one this one right here, because this one too,
- 33:11Speaker 2: I felt like it's unjoph because at this time my
- 33:13Speaker 2: LaDue was insufficient. It is be couldn't doing it? Give
- 33:16Speaker 2: us an interface of count He came across an exambla.
- 33:19Speaker 2: A witness said he did one. He's seen me come
- 33:23Speaker 2: out of this house, which was God Montgomery, so doing
- 33:26Speaker 2: doing during the doing, give the interfectious rie across an azambla,
- 33:30Speaker 2: and she pulled an out from the our widess that
- 33:32Speaker 2: the state had they only our widow, which was got
- 33:34Speaker 2: in my government. He said that he did not recognize
- 33:37Speaker 2: me the day of the burglar abitation. So she asked
- 33:41Speaker 2: him again and he said the same thing. I'm not
- 33:44Speaker 2: for sure that was him or not, because I can't
- 33:47Speaker 2: manage that that a long time. So therefore I felt
- 33:49Speaker 2: like my lordship shout done the acord to referee the
- 33:54Speaker 2: referee the game, because now she involved them. Now she
- 33:57Speaker 2: got a decision for me. She can make it a
- 34:00Speaker 2: trial or she can make it finally not guilty, finally guilt,
- 34:04Speaker 2: but not finally guilt at a higher chaye. I should
- 34:06Speaker 2: have got taut with the brother application, which was the
- 34:08Speaker 2: comman she missed me, but I ended up getting sixty
- 34:11Speaker 2: years and pre which is the live fended. If it's
- 34:13Speaker 2: a number, they doing the same and it's another ed
- 34:15Speaker 2: like like doing six.
- 34:18Speaker 1: So you they gave you sixty They gave you, uh,
- 34:22Speaker 1: they gave you sixty years for a sentence that would
- 34:25Speaker 1: probably been like six months in county jail.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Yes ma'am, Yes ma'am. So they tried, so they did
- 34:32Speaker 2: enhance the conviction, and not handsome that they used. They
- 34:35Speaker 2: were twenty five, they were twenty years old. So therefore
- 34:38Speaker 2: I just feel like my lady was getting ineffected doing
- 34:43Speaker 2: doing the course of the trial. But then once I
- 34:45Speaker 2: got to the guilt and ends of me to the
- 34:47Speaker 2: centizen phase of trial, the DA which was a hard counter.
- 34:51Speaker 2: My name was Beth Elis. She was bringing up the
- 34:54Speaker 2: extremis offenses and saying things towards the Jews that were
- 35:00Speaker 2: facilitate what I mean, but I put stuff in the
- 35:02Speaker 2: head and make them seem like this is what I do.
- 35:05Speaker 2: And then she read out of course statement. They had
- 35:08Speaker 2: a lawyer had a low get on, get on a
- 35:10Speaker 2: witness thing and testify by the statement that she seed
- 35:13Speaker 2: me come out of another personal house, but this house
- 35:16Speaker 2: that she at the stable that she read the lady
- 35:20Speaker 2: woman never testified in the uh be getting that I
- 35:24Speaker 2: mean at the sentence phavos. So I felt like that
- 35:27Speaker 2: was a violation for my conscious life because I got
- 35:29Speaker 2: a right to cross the exam and I on my pill.
- 35:32Speaker 2: So you read out of course statement what she wanted
- 35:34Speaker 2: to hear. That gied me a want to the cross
- 35:36Speaker 2: exam though about what she was talking about on the statements.
- 35:38Speaker 2: So I feel like my lawyer speak up on that
- 35:41Speaker 2: during that phase or either So the whole, the whole city,
- 35:44Speaker 2: the whole scenario is that I had a They showed
- 35:49Speaker 2: me for something that I didn't do. They couldn't never
- 35:51Speaker 2: prove it because they had no DNA then and no
- 35:53Speaker 2: female friends. They had no full of friends and all
- 35:56Speaker 2: of your video y'all sentenced me and gave me six
- 35:59Speaker 2: years because IVE been before that. Y'all use my pride.
- 36:02Speaker 1: So did you have you fouled any emotions?
- 36:10Speaker 2: Well, now I ain't getting chanced to find the emotions.
- 36:13Speaker 2: And I told my mother was trying to find the
- 36:14Speaker 2: emotional when it was over for a new trial, and
- 36:17Speaker 2: she failed to do that. But I feel like I
- 36:19Speaker 2: should have had a ment tribe because the witness testimony
- 36:22Speaker 2: sayd that he's been out death by me hemember. I
- 36:24Speaker 2: begged me, So they found me guilty upon work. I
- 36:30Speaker 2: don't know because the witness thing could identify me, identify me.
- 36:33Speaker 2: So whatever this to, y'all got to leave me to
- 36:35Speaker 2: Piller only ever they say, actually CO proved doing that
- 36:38Speaker 2: whole thingy trial was that I stole chan night to
- 36:42Speaker 2: the front shop, went to possession was full of mugles.
- 36:45Speaker 2: That's the tay that I should have actually got chauges with.
- 36:48Speaker 2: And then y'all gave me sixty years.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Y'all over sentenced me, right, Yeah, I hear that a
- 36:55Speaker 1: lot about men and women getting over sentenced for something
- 37:00Speaker 1: that that carry is probably about a six month time
- 37:07Speaker 1: in jail in the county jail. So what would you
- 37:11Speaker 1: like the the uh, the audience to know.
- 37:17Speaker 2: That I like, I need I need help. I need
- 37:21Speaker 2: somebody that's gonna actually take time to look at this case.
- 37:24Speaker 2: And we grew up and actually helped me because I gotta,
- 37:27Speaker 2: I gotta, I gotta, I gotta, I gotta, I got
- 37:30Speaker 2: a legal man, I got something like to bring some
- 37:33Speaker 2: courting pool my innocence of the brook ad take a
- 37:36Speaker 2: to But I can accept the stolen good told I can.
- 37:39Speaker 2: I can stit here with the Burke. I can't because
- 37:41Speaker 2: they never actually proved that I broke arized. Y'all prove
- 37:45Speaker 2: that I put on or something. That's the evidence that
- 37:48Speaker 2: was shown throughout the whole course of trial. So I
- 37:50Speaker 2: would like to somebody just actually just take time to
- 37:53Speaker 2: go back and look at my working and get in
- 37:55Speaker 2: contact with me and help me. But at the same
- 37:58Speaker 2: time I was gonna appeal, and they recalled my man.
- 38:01Speaker 2: They when they recalled my man, they they never know,
- 38:05Speaker 2: they never notified me what they we call a man.
- 38:07Speaker 2: They So that that time bought me to go on
- 38:10Speaker 2: to the next phase, which was the twenty two fifty
- 38:13Speaker 2: four they been they recalled a man. They back in
- 38:16Speaker 2: two thousand and I want to say seventeen and it's
- 38:20Speaker 2: two thy twenty five and that seven seven me a
- 38:23Speaker 2: letter that's two long, even though I never did find
- 38:25Speaker 2: my level of self getting. So I need somebody to
- 38:27Speaker 2: help me in that situation so I can get back
- 38:29Speaker 2: into the course with that and get a get get
- 38:32Speaker 2: actually fired my fetal rip. When I get out, I
- 38:35Speaker 2: get released from this program.
- 38:37Speaker 1: So this is my last question. How much time have
- 38:43Speaker 1: you served so far on a sixty year sentence?
- 38:48Speaker 2: Twelve and a half years.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Twelve and a half years. So you gave this uh
- 38:52Speaker 1: State of Texas twelve and a half years for something
- 38:56Speaker 1: that was carried a six month sentence, Yes, ma'am, unbelievable unbelievable. Well,
- 39:09Speaker 1: mister Holiday, we're gonna give me a give me a
- 39:17Speaker 1: call on Friday so we can finish looking up at
- 39:25Speaker 1: your case. I can go into the computer and look
- 39:28Speaker 1: it up since its public record. Yes, ma'am, and don't
- 39:35Speaker 1: forget I got m take it easy to you as well.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Okay, ma'am. Thank you very much for that, and then
- 39:52Speaker 2: I'm wrong that being said, ma'am. I would like to say.
- 39:58Speaker 2: I would like to say miss Angela Thomas Smith a
- 40:01Speaker 2: lot of the articles that she has published in her
- 40:03Speaker 2: as final my community regarding our textures come on justice
- 40:08Speaker 2: system in the state of Texas, because she has sheared
- 40:12Speaker 2: light and have sent mystages and emails and complaints to
- 40:17Speaker 2: our governor, our representatives. I parole for more than everybody
- 40:22Speaker 2: about what's wrong with our chromos justice system and the
- 40:25Speaker 2: alarming crisis we share with in our priminal justice system.
- 40:30Speaker 2: And one of the articles, if I'm not pacific, and
- 40:33Speaker 2: I would like even try to share if I could
- 40:36Speaker 2: find it, that she wrote regarding what we do and
- 40:42Speaker 2: what we have wrong with our come on justice and
- 40:45Speaker 2: the article is basically calling for FBI to get involved
- 40:52Speaker 2: the same Texas has a long intrunblent history of ow
- 40:54Speaker 2: the convictions with thousands of Allison individuals, current language and
- 40:58Speaker 2: behind involved in the Texas the criminal justice from evidence
- 41:02Speaker 2: time for into conscuitment conduct. The flawss of the state's
- 41:06Speaker 2: judicious systems have resulted in countless individuals being wrongfully combated
- 41:10Speaker 2: and denied their freedom. The site being known as the
- 41:14Speaker 2: leading state of executions Texians also has gained the unsalvary
- 41:18Speaker 2: title of leading and exoneration. This is a troubling trend
- 41:22Speaker 2: that cannot be ignored and it is time for the
- 41:24Speaker 2: Department of Justice gonna been and investigate the rampid corruption
- 41:28Speaker 2: and in confidence within the text of judicious system. This
- 41:32Speaker 2: blame violation of the laws of the stock reminder of
- 41:36Speaker 2: the less that changed that some but then the system
- 41:39Speaker 2: will go to in order to secure conviction regardless of epicence.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Aditionally they have been reports of the same with our
- 41:48Speaker 2: parole board system out of time and timelessly, you know,
- 41:52Speaker 2: marking our thought system numbers the laws to whole, the
- 41:54Speaker 2: ncent people behind boss. And with this being said, noam,
- 41:58Speaker 2: we're acting for an investigation. So what's going on right here, ma'am,
- 42:02Speaker 2: is that our system has been built to often convict
- 42:08Speaker 2: people and overly incorterate them for crimes a lot of
- 42:11Speaker 2: them didn't commit it. And we don't have a voice
- 42:13Speaker 2: around here because I stay representatives and our Texas Senators
- 42:17Speaker 2: around there now listening to the people up the state
- 42:19Speaker 2: of Texas while it becomes about the private corporations that
- 42:24Speaker 2: we're dealing with now because we'll be now sold off
- 42:27Speaker 2: to private prisons. Now, I'm here in the state of
- 42:29Speaker 2: Texas and now for roll board Systems is operating with
- 42:32Speaker 2: these individuals to hold us in prison longers. Right now.
- 42:36Speaker 2: We have fifteen thousand inmates have made parole right now,
- 42:41Speaker 2: and we'll still here in the prison system. And that's
- 42:43Speaker 2: very sadness that it is.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Because I have talked to mister Bernard. He's still there.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Is he still there or did he go home?
- 42:55Speaker 2: Yes, ma'am, he's still here too, ma'am. We have fifteen
- 42:59Speaker 2: thousand inmates who have made parole here in the state
- 43:02Speaker 2: of Texas and we are still waiting to go home. Wow,
- 43:06Speaker 2: because our parole board system and I see take the
- 43:10Speaker 2: government have sold us off to a private practice facility.
- 43:15Speaker 2: So now here we are now, these beds are being
- 43:18Speaker 2: paid for daily because they have to be filled. Even
- 43:22Speaker 2: if you're discharge and they are holding you even plans
- 43:25Speaker 2: or discharge staxis, we have to make sure that you
- 43:28Speaker 2: be in this bunk six months.
- 43:31Speaker 1: How can they do that? How can they hold you
- 43:33Speaker 1: cast your release date.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Because of the contract that they have with this private
- 43:40Speaker 2: facility entity that this bunk has to be feeling the
- 43:45Speaker 2: only way we can get our money is that that
- 43:46Speaker 2: individu would has to be in this bunk six months,
- 43:50Speaker 2: regardless of the circumstances of the case. For me, I'm
- 43:54Speaker 2: supposed to have been there in October. I made parole
- 43:57Speaker 2: in July. That gave me an extent and think till October.
- 44:01Speaker 2: From October to April should have been my release day.
- 44:05Speaker 2: But no, man, I didn't get here until January, and
- 44:09Speaker 2: that three months they put it on the back end
- 44:12Speaker 2: of the five six programs. So now they got me
- 44:14Speaker 2: what a July for a team day and then you
- 44:18Speaker 2: don't get out on July, the parole then have to
- 44:21Speaker 2: get to a date for release, so you would have
- 44:24Speaker 2: to wait another month of the release date, and then
- 44:27Speaker 2: you would have to wait another month to get released.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Hmmm.
- 44:32Speaker 2: So this is what I say represented to the Texas
- 44:35Speaker 2: sentences them and not looking at and we are part
- 44:39Speaker 2: of a multi trillion dollar enterprise. Man, and we'll be
- 44:42Speaker 2: an illegal to heal even after making parole. Man.
- 44:46Speaker 1: In the in the living conditions are are horrible, horrible, yes, ma'am.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Today we had a major and a one come over
- 44:56Speaker 2: here today and they was talking about individuals hanging their
- 44:59Speaker 2: clothes up. So we told them one, well, watchman, we
- 45:01Speaker 2: can't have incentive housing. Wow, because we have earned the
- 45:04Speaker 2: rights of parole. Therefore we should earn the right to
- 45:07Speaker 2: better living conditions within the system. So he said we
- 45:11Speaker 2: should report this to the counselor of the management training program. Well,
- 45:16Speaker 2: right now, man, we got we had We didn't have
- 45:18Speaker 2: no tallest working, we didn't have no shops working, we
- 45:21Speaker 2: didn't have anything working. But thanks to you and missus
- 45:24Speaker 2: Andrews Thomer Smith, you know, the advocating on our behalf, ma'am,
- 45:28Speaker 2: we now have everything work because y'all all put it
- 45:31Speaker 2: and took it upon yourselves. Now in the contact, our lived,
- 45:33Speaker 2: this letters, our represented, this, our wards, I say, our
- 45:37Speaker 2: counselors and everybody to make sure that these people will
- 45:40Speaker 2: get down here and mix this stuff. And yes, ma'am,
- 45:42Speaker 2: they came to fix this stuff.
- 45:44Speaker 1: So you know, I just got a real quick question.
- 45:50Speaker 1: I don't mean to cut you out. Do you guys
- 45:52Speaker 1: have groups over there that advacy groups. That's suppose the
- 45:57Speaker 1: appricatet k on behalf of the prison system.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Why yes, ma'am. Here in the state of Texas, noam,
- 46:08Speaker 2: we have the Texas Armonies Association, which is ranned by
- 46:12Speaker 2: Miss Sharon Sharon McKinney. We have the Texas Prison Advocacy
- 46:17Speaker 2: of Alliance. We have the Texas Prison another alliance group.
- 46:24Speaker 2: But either way, these individual advocacy groupslams are only advocating
- 46:29Speaker 2: to bring awareness to the problems affected, like from the
- 46:32Speaker 2: justice system to the families. They are not actually advocating
- 46:36Speaker 2: for wrongful convictions. Christmal justice are judges of violating policies
- 46:43Speaker 2: of corruption and bribery. District attorneys uses fosse, using us
- 46:47Speaker 2: to convict the wrong individuals. District attorneys, you know, paying
- 46:53Speaker 2: bribes to lawyers, and they don't they don't advocate for that.
- 46:56Speaker 2: They understand that we're here to say whether or not
- 46:59Speaker 2: any they don't make it a toothbrush. If they don't
- 47:02Speaker 2: get it, we're gonna contact the world and make sure
- 47:04Speaker 2: that this didn't may get a toothbrush or or he
- 47:06Speaker 2: didn't get a shower or something like that. They doesn't
- 47:09Speaker 2: matter here advocating for the problem really affecting our symbol
- 47:12Speaker 2: to determine who has been wrong be convicted and why
- 47:15Speaker 2: how do we get here? They don't do that, man,
- 47:18Speaker 2: And it's very sad man. We're not put in nobody
- 47:21Speaker 2: down because we appreciate what they do, right, we appreciate that,
- 47:25Speaker 2: but it's not that we're asking for them to come
- 47:28Speaker 2: and let's talk about the real issues affecting our coming
- 47:31Speaker 2: of justice. Right, Rob Jelly is paying the lawyers double
- 47:37Speaker 2: the amount of money to help hit or wrong for previction.
- 47:39Speaker 2: That's not right man. Our plow board system that ran
- 47:45Speaker 2: five that's your attorneys in judge. How can we get
- 47:48Speaker 2: a fair decision out of that? We cannot? And that's
- 47:51Speaker 2: why we are now dealing with being sold to a
- 47:54Speaker 2: profit facility because it's the attorney's office is a parolal board. Now,
- 48:02Speaker 2: this is sad man. So for anybody that's listening to
- 48:05Speaker 2: this podcast tonight, we're not asking for y'all to join us,
- 48:08Speaker 2: to stand with us, because if we can't stand together
- 48:11Speaker 2: or something we will stand at on for nothing. We
- 48:14Speaker 2: need to address our representatives, our centers. I covered us
- 48:18Speaker 2: if anybody that's willing to stand with us to try
- 48:20Speaker 2: to see if we can get kind of practice as
- 48:23Speaker 2: a transparency within our coma justice system. So thank you
- 48:27Speaker 2: very much now for allowing me to seek about these
- 48:30Speaker 2: issues because they're very important. Anybody that's been wrong and
- 48:34Speaker 2: over there incultrated, we played for you and we will
- 48:36Speaker 2: be here to help you in any way we hand.
- 48:38Speaker 2: So we thank you very much now for all that
- 48:40Speaker 2: John have done for us.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Okay, so we got ten minutes, and I just want
- 48:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna say my little piece and then I'm gonna
- 48:51Speaker 1: go ahead and let you close it out. I say this.
- 49:06Speaker 1: I know some of us have family members that's on
- 49:10Speaker 1: a behind the wall. We know people that's behind the wall,
- 49:18Speaker 1: and some of them are guilty, some of them is not.
- 49:23Speaker 1: But who are we to judge. We're not We're not
- 49:29Speaker 1: supposed to judge. The living conditions in these prisons. Some
- 49:40Speaker 1: of them are horrible. And I want you, guys, want
- 49:49Speaker 1: to talk to your loved ones, reach out to them
- 49:52Speaker 1: and see how they're doing, check on them wellness, check
- 49:58Speaker 1: just say hey, drop them a line and just see
- 50:02Speaker 1: how they how they mental mental capacity is doing their mind.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Just see how they're doing. You know, some of them
- 50:16Speaker 1: be excited to get a letter just to say Hi,
- 50:20Speaker 1: I was thinking about you. You know, it makes their day.
- 50:36Speaker 2: You got check in on. Let's not.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Throw throw our men and our women away.
- 50:46Speaker 2: Let's not do that.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Let's not that's not. Let us, let us, let us
- 50:52Speaker 1: come together. Let us You know, everybody say that.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Oh.
- 51:02Speaker 1: I love God, I'm a Christian and whoop woop this
- 51:07Speaker 1: you said. You guys say all of this, But are
- 51:13Speaker 1: you really doing the work. Are you really looking at
- 51:19Speaker 1: your fellow man? No, I'm not gonna say that because
- 51:24Speaker 1: we're we are brothers and sisters. We're just in different
- 51:30Speaker 1: ethnic groups. We are passify as brothers. And are you
- 51:36Speaker 1: looking at your brother and sister with your human eyes?
- 51:41Speaker 1: Are you looking at them with your spiritual eyes?
- 51:45Speaker 2: With the.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Because if you ask God to give you the eyes
- 51:50Speaker 1: to see how he see a person, it's totally different.
