  We all saw the Spider Man Brand New Day trailer and the Internet

  is going crazy with rumors and you know, looking at frame by

  frame shots of the trailer and everyone, well not everyone but
• 0:34
  too many people are convinced that it's Gene and I'm just not
• 0:37
  convinced it's Gene. We got a slight look at Sadie
• 0:40
  Sync from behind. I completely missed it on every
• 0:43
  rewatch I did of that trailer so I didn't realize it until MCU
• 0:47
  Portal pointed it out and posted this picture.

  So shout out to MCU Portal. Also go check them out because

  they are fantastic. So who do I think she's going to
• 0:57
  be? I've gone between Rachel Cole
• 0:59
  and Carly Cooper so many times. My Dreamcast would be Firestorm

  Angelica the mutant. That's who I would want, but I

  just don't think Marvel likes me that much to do that for me.

  So I actually think the one that makes the most sense is Carly
• 1:16
  Cooper. I'm going to get into who Carly

  Cooper is and then you tell me at the end if you think it's her

  or if you don't. So before I get started, be sure

  you'll really dig. So Carly Cooper, she first

  appeared in Amazing Spider Man volume to #545 so yeah, she

  showed up in the Spider Man Brand New Day storyline.

  Carly Cooper grew up really looking up to her dad, Ray
• 1:43
  Cooper, a highly respected forensic officer with the NYPD.
• 1:47
  Because of him, she developed a deep respect for forensic
• 1:51
  science early on. If you'll remember in the
• 1:53
  trailer, we did see a lot of science stuff, forensic
• 1:59
  evidence. We even saw a scan of Spider
• 2:01
  Man's body, so, and a breakdown of his powers.

  So keep all that in mind. When she was still a kid, her
• 2:09
  mom, Ruthie got seriously sick. Ray could not afford her
• 2:13
  treatment on his salary, so he got desperate and secretly
• 2:16
  started working with Mysterio and the Magia, helping fake the
• 2:20
  deaths of the mobsters. After Ruthie died, Ray basically
• 2:24
  decided he didn't owe the system anything anymore and ended up
• 2:27
  faking his own death as part of a long term plan with Mysterio.

  No one ever found out what Ray had really been up to, so his
• 2:35
  reputation stayed spotless. Carly followed in his footsteps
• 2:39
  and became a forensic scientist herself.

  She got pulled into Peter Parker's circle through his best
• 2:45
  friend, Lily Hollister, who was dating Harry Osbourne.

  Along the way, Carly had some wild experiences.

  She almost got sacrificed to a Mayan deity, helped Peter find a
• 2:57
  new apartment with Officer Vincent Gonzalez, and even

  supported Harry when he slipped back into alcoholism.

  Eventually, Mysterio kicked off the final phase of his plan with

  Rey, bringing him back to New York, where he reunited with

  Carly. She was pretty shaken when he

  told her everything he'd done, but she played along so she

  could investigate him. When Rey tried to convince her
• 3:21
  to leave the city with him and his share of Mysterio's money,
• 3:26
  Carly knocked him out with gas and turned on him.

  Carly and Peter dated for a bit, but she broke things off after
• 3:34
  learning he was spider Man. Even after that, she still
• 3:37
  helped him track down the Vultures and their leader Adrian
• 3:41
  Toomes. Or Tumes.

  Later on she dated Detective Walter Bolt until he died.

  So she is she she's dated a lot. Things got even crazier when

  Doctor Octopus swapped mines with Spider Man.

  Right before dying, Otto and Peter's body told Carly the

  truth, that he was actually Peter.

  Noticing Spider Man acting completely off, Carly started
• 4:14
  digging into it and with the help from Yuri Watanabe,
• 4:17
  confirmed that Otto had taken over Peter's body and Peter was
• 4:21
  gone. When she visited Peters grave,
• 4:24
  it collapsed, revealing the body had been dug up.
• 4:27
  Right after that she was kidnapped by the Goblin
• 4:29
  underground and interrogated about Spider Man's identity.
• 4:33
  She refused to talk, so the Green Goblin injected her with
• 4:36
  the Goblin formula, turning her into one of them and calling her
• 4:40
  monster. Her personality basically got
• 4:43
  buried under the transformation. Even then, when the Goblin King
• 4:48
  Norman Osborne tried to make her reveal Spider Man's identity,
• 4:51
  she pushed back and demanded proof of who he really was.
• 4:55
  As a part of the Goblin army, Carly attacked Otto's base,
• 4:58
  tracked him to Parker Industries, and even took down
• 5:01
  race when her earpiece got destroyed, cutting her off from
• 5:05
  the Goblin King. She briefly fought through the
• 5:08
  mind control and warned Otto that he needed to fix things
• 5:11
  before it was too late. Eventually, she was cured.
• 5:16
  Eventually, she was cured thanks to a serum developed by Sajani
• 5:20
  Joffrey. After everything settled, Peter
• 5:23
  back in his body and the Goblin King defeated Carly, decided to
• 5:28
  cut ties with Spider Man and left New York for a while,
• 5:31
  headed to New Orleans. She did some police work there
• 5:34
  but eventually came back because she missed the city.
• 5:37
  Even with all this chaos. Finding out Peter with Spider
• 5:41
  Man had really messed with her emotionally, though keeping that
• 5:45
  secret made her feel isolated and unsafe.
• 5:48
  When she got back to New York, she found a support group called
• 5:51
  the Lookups for Friends and Family of Superheroes and even
• 5:54
  invited Mary Jane Watson to join since she knew Peter's secret
• 5:58
  too. During the Sin Eaters killing
• 6:01
  spree, Carly was examining one of the victims, OverDrive, when
• 6:05
  he suddenly came back to life. He was overwhelmed with guilt
• 6:08
  and tried to explain what happened, but when the police
• 6:10
  showed up, they started beating him very badly.
• 6:14
  Carly stepped in and saved him, though he ended up in a coma on
• 6:17
  life support. Thankfully, he recovered fully
• 6:20
  later and even became friends with her, saying he wanted to
• 6:23
  turn his life around. Later, when the demonic being
• 6:27
  Kindred dug up the bodies of people close to Peter, Carly
• 6:31
  examined them and realized that the real Harry Osborne was
• 6:33
  actually dead and that the Harry everyone knew was a clone.
• 6:39
  After discovering that Kindred captured her and locked her up
• 6:42
  in a hidden prison inside the Osborne Manor in Paris along
• 6:46
  with Harry's clone, she convinced him to fight back and
• 6:49
  they managed to escape their cell.
• 6:52
  While exploring, they found the real Harry's body.
• 6:55
  The clone admitted he'd known the truth all along before
• 6:58
  heading off alone to help Peter, Mary Jane, and a redeemed Norman
• 7:02
  fight Kindred. Kindred was eventually defeated,
• 7:07
  but the clone did not make it. Carly mourned him alongside his
• 7:10
  friends during Christmas at the Coffee Bean.

  And I want, I believe not long after that, her and OverDrive
• 7:17
  actually start a relationship. So that's Carly.

  That's who I think Sadie Sync is going to play.
• 7:25
  They don't have to go. I don't think they're going to
• 7:27
  go through all of the background because we don't even have
• 7:29
  Norman Osbourne and the MCU. But I do think she's going to
• 7:33
  play Carly. Gene makes no sense to me.
• 7:37
  I do not see it. Why would an X-Men show up in a
• 7:41
  Sony movie? That makes no sense to me.
• 7:45
  Firestar, that would just be so cool.
• 7:50
  And then you'd have to bring Iceman, and that would be
• 7:52
  incredible. But they're not.
• 7:55
  They're not going to do it unless, unless they are.
• 7:58
  I'm gaslighting myself. They're they're not going to do

  it. I really like that Marvel did
• 8:03
  not give us a good look at Sadie Sink in the trailer.

  Like they didn't allude to anything.

  They stayed away from it. They also stayed away from
• 8:11
  Tombstone too, which was a choice.

  But yeah, I'd like that they did it.

  It keeps the mystery alive. They didn't give us too much,

  didn't give us too little. It was a great, great trailer

  and I'm very, very excited. They did give us Paul, though.

  chance to hate Paul? Also yes.

  So, yeah, that's who I think Carly will be.
