- 2:10Speaker 3: to all of them. Later on the show. I'll weigh
- 2:13Speaker 3: in a little bit, but I'm more interested in hearing
- 2:15Speaker 3: your take on the debate last night now, Hobby. Of course,
- 2:20Speaker 3: we'll have more on this coming up at ten oh
- 2:21Speaker 3: six on the show today. State Senator Mike Stewart frequent
- 2:24Speaker 3: guests of the show. He's been making the rounds though
- 2:26Speaker 3: recently talking about helmet safety for our youth football players,
- 2:30Speaker 3: particularly in regards to these Guardian caps. This song coming
- 2:34Speaker 3: on the death of young young mister Crowdock down in
- 2:37Speaker 3: Boone County. We'll talk to Senator Stewart about that. The
- 2:40Speaker 3: legislator sure, of course, wrapping up a couple of days
- 2:42Speaker 3: of interims at Parkersburg, we'll get to him about that.
- 2:44Speaker 3: And you know, being a former head of the Trump
- 2:49Speaker 3: campaign in West Virginia a few years ago, he's probably
- 2:51Speaker 3: going to want to mention something about the debate between
- 2:54Speaker 3: Trump and Harris last night, So we'll get into that
- 2:56Speaker 3: coming up a little bit later on as well. Of course,
- 2:58Speaker 3: it is the anniversary of nine to eleven this this
- 3:02Speaker 3: time twenty three years ago, we were all standing around.
- 3:05Speaker 3: I was actually on the air on the radio and
- 3:08Speaker 3: logan at the time, and we were all gathered in
- 3:11Speaker 3: the sales room down the hall watching the coverage and
- 3:15Speaker 3: not just you know, being totally what's the word I'm
- 3:21Speaker 3: looking for, just totally in a trance, I guess at
- 3:24Speaker 3: that time, at this particular time, and because it had
- 3:28Speaker 3: just happened like thirty months before, and then we had
- 3:30Speaker 3: the other you know, the other center that fell after ten,
- 3:33Speaker 3: So we'll try to touch on that as best we
- 3:36Speaker 3: can as well. A couple of quick news items so
- 3:38Speaker 3: I have to get to There is increased police presence
- 3:41Speaker 3: this morning at Capitol High, Ben Franklin Career Center and
- 3:44Speaker 3: at Carver as precaution. Do to stop me if you've
- 3:46Speaker 3: heard this before, more of these online threats. No reasonably
- 3:50Speaker 3: that any of them are true, but you know, caution
- 3:53Speaker 3: and stuff. It's been going on all over the state
- 3:54Speaker 3: and in other states as well. So just just some
- 3:58Speaker 3: increased presences locations today and also some news about KRT
- 4:04Speaker 3: and I'm going to get into that in a little
- 4:05Speaker 3: bit more the next couple of days. They are trying,
- 4:08Speaker 3: as you know, we've had Sean Hill on the show
- 4:10Speaker 3: a couple of times, trying to switch up some of
- 4:11Speaker 3: their services to in order to save money. The latest
- 4:15Speaker 3: plan possibly to eliminate Sunday service, and I'm going to
- 4:19Speaker 3: get into that in the future show. We'll be following
- 4:21Speaker 3: the story, of course throughout the day as well. Big
- 4:24Speaker 3: Ley Pickley, Wiggy Hotline three zero four three four five
- 4:26Speaker 3: fifty eight fifty eight Antony the Taylor Text three zero
- 4:29Speaker 3: four nine three five five zero zero eight right now, though,
- 4:32Speaker 3: I want to bring in a million nicely from West Virginia.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Watch Good Morning, Milia. How are you?
- 4:36Speaker 6: Good morning?
- 4:36Speaker 7: I'm well.
- 4:37Speaker 6: How are you?
- 4:37Speaker 3: I'm fine? Can I ask you, without being too personal,
- 4:40Speaker 3: your memories of nine to eleven? I mean, you're a
- 4:43Speaker 3: lot younger than I am. I would suspect, but where
- 4:46Speaker 3: were you?
- 4:47Speaker 6: Yes?
- 4:47Speaker 7: So, I was in seventh grade at Crosslans Christian here
- 4:51Speaker 7: in Kanawck County. And I have a cousin who worked
- 4:55Speaker 7: in the trade towers and thankfully made it out and
- 4:58Speaker 7: a safe and a father now with beautiful children. But
- 5:01Speaker 7: he and his then fiance both worked in downtown New
- 5:05Speaker 7: York City, and so, like many family members, we waited
- 5:08Speaker 7: to hear if he was okay. And that took quite
- 5:10Speaker 7: a bit of time, right, because his cell phone and
- 5:13Speaker 7: all the things were not working at that time. But
- 5:15Speaker 7: I actually just learned a couple of weeks ago that
- 5:18Speaker 7: his fiance changed her work voicemail to her location so
- 5:23Speaker 7: that when he kept calling her because the phones were down,
- 5:25Speaker 7: he at least could know where she was, and he
- 5:27Speaker 7: walked miles through all of that chaos to get to her.
- 5:30Speaker 7: I just found that story out a couple of weeks.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Lot of story.
- 5:33Speaker 7: Yeah, wow, Yeah, I remember. I mean I was in
- 5:36Speaker 7: school when it happened, and they dismissed us, and of
- 5:38Speaker 7: course you had kind of you couldn't really understand what's
- 5:40Speaker 7: going on, right, But I feel like as the years
- 5:42Speaker 7: go by, you realize how more and more significant that
- 5:45Speaker 7: day was.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, well, I mean it was a hot he
- 5:47Speaker 3: talked about on this commentary this morning. It was for
- 5:49Speaker 3: this generation, our pearl Harbor. You know, where were you
- 5:52Speaker 3: on that date? And as I said in the intro,
- 5:55Speaker 3: you know I was actually on the air and the
- 5:57Speaker 3: radio in Logan when the store we just aired Paul Harvey,
- 6:00Speaker 3: as a matter of fact, Paul Harvey News and Comment
- 6:03Speaker 3: and then we started getting the alerts on the old
- 6:05Speaker 3: We had the old at that time, the old associated
- 6:07Speaker 3: press wire machine, and we hadn't made the changeover to
- 6:11Speaker 3: computers on that aspect yet, and it just started going crazy.
- 6:15Speaker 3: And of course we had a like I said, just
- 6:17Speaker 3: down the hall from the radio, from the control room,
- 6:19Speaker 3: we had a television set up in the in the
- 6:22Speaker 3: sale department. That's about the time eight thirty issue in
- 6:25Speaker 3: the morning when all the salespeople came in. And so,
- 6:27Speaker 3: I mean, we just a nobody really knew what to do.
- 6:29Speaker 3: I mean, do you continue on playing music? Do you continue?
- 6:34Speaker 3: I mean, what am I going to say in Logan,
- 6:36Speaker 3: West Virginia to tell you what's going on New York.
- 6:38Speaker 3: So we made the decision eventually to just turn it
- 6:40Speaker 3: over to ABC and you know, let them cover. Let's
- 6:43Speaker 3: move on. I want to talk about we now know
- 6:45Speaker 3: the dates of the special session, the governor making that
- 6:49Speaker 3: announcement Amelia on Monday that the legislature will be called
- 6:52Speaker 3: in on September thirtieth. We don't know exactly what the
- 6:54Speaker 3: call for will be. You cover a great deal of
- 6:58Speaker 3: things in your work with West Virginia. But you know,
- 7:01Speaker 3: you're you're probably best known what you do best. You
- 7:04Speaker 3: do it all well, But is your coverage of child issues?
- 7:08Speaker 3: Are you very hopeful that something's going to happen in
- 7:10Speaker 3: the special session?
- 7:12Speaker 2: Yes and no.
- 7:14Speaker 7: So I am hopeful that we will see this child
- 7:18Speaker 7: Independent Care tax Credit, which is one part of the
- 7:21Speaker 7: puzzle of the childcare problem in West Virginia as affordability.
- 7:26Speaker 7: Governor Justice has said families are paying about six hundred
- 7:28Speaker 7: to seven hundred dollars a month on childcare. Nationally, that
- 7:31Speaker 7: number is about ten thousand a month, and which is crazy, right,
- 7:36Speaker 7: I mean, that's I'm sorry, I'm ten thousand a year. Sorry,
- 7:38Speaker 7: that's a crazy number.
- 7:39Speaker 3: But I yes, I.
- 7:41Speaker 7: Think we will see that. I don't know how it
- 7:44Speaker 7: will be received. We haven't seen the warmest welcome to that.
- 7:47Speaker 7: But also lawmakers have been clear we haven't seen the
- 7:50Speaker 7: plan exactly.
- 7:50Speaker 4: So I think we'll see.
- 7:51Speaker 7: That TBD if it will be approved, but I don't
- 7:55Speaker 7: know that we'll see other bills that could address other
- 7:59Speaker 7: issues in childcare.
- 8:01Speaker 3: For those who haven't read your work or may not
- 8:03Speaker 3: follow you on social media, and shame on you, by
- 8:05Speaker 3: the way, if you if you aren't reading what she's
- 8:07Speaker 3: doing right now. One of the biggest issues West Virginia
- 8:10Speaker 3: is facing is this childcare crisis. And we've seen it
- 8:13Speaker 3: manifest itself a milia in so many different forms, you know,
- 8:17Speaker 3: from the from the death of the of the young
- 8:20Speaker 3: lady in Boone County to a certain extent, what was
- 8:22Speaker 3: going on out in Cistonville, you know, with that situation,
- 8:25Speaker 3: and there's so many of these things that just keep
- 8:27Speaker 3: compounding themselves over and over. I guess the biggest question,
- 8:31Speaker 3: and if you could answer this question, you wouldn't be
- 8:32Speaker 3: sitting in a radio studio in Charleston, West Virginia right now.
- 8:36Speaker 3: How how did we get here? I mean, how did
- 8:39Speaker 3: we get here? And more importantly that's the million dollar
- 8:41Speaker 3: the two million dollar question is how do we solve this.
- 8:45Speaker 7: In regards specifically told care, child welfare.
- 8:48Speaker 3: All the above. Yeah you got thirty seconds.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I mean.
- 8:53Speaker 7: Yeah, I first of all, there's no where I'd rather be.
- 8:56Speaker 7: But I think it's an investment, right. I think, if
- 8:58Speaker 7: I've learned anything from being a reporter who covers state
- 9:01Speaker 7: government over the years, where you put your money is
- 9:04Speaker 7: where you will get your return, and it also shows
- 9:06Speaker 7: your priorities. And it's not that simple. We can't just
- 9:09Speaker 7: make up money, right, We can't just print money. But
- 9:11Speaker 7: I think when we have these surplus dollars that we're
- 9:14Speaker 7: hearing about, but we aren't funding childcare, there's also issues
- 9:17Speaker 7: in child welfare with funding that is reflected in how
- 9:20Speaker 7: those services play out. For sure.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Do you think it's safe to say that, And I
- 9:26Speaker 3: brought this up a little bit on the air last week,
- 9:27Speaker 3: that some of some of your reporting has ruffled a
- 9:30Speaker 3: few feathers. Yes, it has. Yes, I think.
- 9:37Speaker 7: This administration has been challenging to cover you. Yeah, there's
- 9:41Speaker 7: always a push and pull between communications and reporters, but
- 9:45Speaker 7: it is very difficult to write about complicated things. Childcare,
- 9:49Speaker 7: for example, has federal state funding requirements, all these things
- 9:53Speaker 7: that are complicated, and when you can't get an email
- 9:56Speaker 7: returned from the people who run childcare in West Virginia
- 9:59Speaker 7: or from the gover administration, that coupled with then sometimes
- 10:04Speaker 7: they come back and say that we're manifesting crises or
- 10:08Speaker 7: that were you know, just out there to attack them.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Has Definitely that's kind of what I was referring to
- 10:13Speaker 3: because I mentioned that on the show last week. There
- 10:14Speaker 3: was one particular snarky little comment made somebody and this
- 10:17Speaker 3: was not with the Governor's office, by the way, but
- 10:19Speaker 3: it was within the administration who made a comment about
- 10:23Speaker 3: and I forget exactly I'm not even gonna justify it
- 10:25Speaker 3: by saying exactly what it was, but it was basically
- 10:27Speaker 3: something saying that you were just starting the crap, basically
- 10:31Speaker 3: like and that you weren't very good at what you did.
- 10:33Speaker 3: And I find that's I think that's just downright insulting.
- 10:37Speaker 3: I really, I really do.
- 10:38Speaker 7: Well, thank you it. Yeah, I mean, I think as
- 10:40Speaker 7: a journalist, we don't want the story to become about us, right,
- 10:43Speaker 7: and so there's a little bit of a fine line
- 10:44Speaker 7: of how much do I share with the public versus
- 10:47Speaker 7: you know, this is just doing my job right, But yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 7: it's it has been difficult and challenging, but I have
- 10:53Speaker 7: to remain vigilant that reporters are an important part of
- 10:57Speaker 7: democracy and I have to keep my head on straight
- 11:00Speaker 7: and just keep pursuing facts.
- 11:01Speaker 3: But Dave Allen showing five Aadie lie Bright to you,
- 11:03Speaker 3: part by your hometown baseball team, the Charleston Dirty Birds.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Birds wrapping up the regular season with a road series
- 11:08Speaker 3: against Gastonia through the weekend. For tickets, merchandise promotions and
- 11:11Speaker 3: more of visit dirty birds baseball dot com so to
- 11:13Speaker 3: hold it out of that chance that they may make
- 11:15Speaker 3: the playoffs. So what are you looking at? Like the
- 11:18Speaker 3: nicet couple of days, what are you looking at?
- 11:20Speaker 7: So I think this childcare issue is really what I'm
- 11:23Speaker 7: focused on right now as we go into that special
- 11:25Speaker 7: session at the end of the year. I'd also like
- 11:28Speaker 7: to bring up something that I think we talked about
- 11:30Speaker 7: last time I was here is and you mentioned this,
- 11:32Speaker 7: Kennedy Miller's death in Boone County has been one of
- 11:35Speaker 7: the biggest stories of the year. This is the fourteen
- 11:37Speaker 7: year old girl who was found emaciated, who was being homeschooled.
- 11:40Speaker 7: And we heard a lot of talk during the May
- 11:44Speaker 7: special session and the summer that we would do something
- 11:48Speaker 7: with homeschool regulations or Foyer laws in response to Kennedy's death.
- 11:53Speaker 7: And here we are in September and that really is
- 11:56Speaker 7: not being talked about at all, And so that is
- 11:57Speaker 7: on my radar to kind of follow up on what
- 12:00Speaker 7: did we learn from this child's tragic death and if
- 12:04Speaker 7: tightening homeschool regulations or how schools follow up on homeschool
- 12:08Speaker 7: students could prevent another tragedy. I think that's something that
- 12:12Speaker 7: needs to be part of the conversation. And Governor Justice
- 12:14Speaker 7: had said there would be action on that or he
- 12:16Speaker 7: would try to have action on that an upcoming special session,
- 12:19Speaker 7: but that certainly hasn't been mentioned. And as we go
- 12:22Speaker 7: into the September special.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Seton and again that's going to be September thirtieth. Were
- 12:25Speaker 3: you in Parkersburg for the interims? Yes, Okay, any exciting
- 12:29Speaker 3: stuff come out. I know sometimes interims are just about
- 12:32Speaker 3: you know, some can be signed to boring meetings as
- 12:34Speaker 3: or whatever. Anything come out of the interims, be interested,
- 12:36Speaker 3: you not too interesting.
- 12:38Speaker 7: Parkersburg was a wonderful host. Parkersburg is great. Yeah, I
- 12:41Speaker 7: think it was a little odd. We just finished interims
- 12:43Speaker 7: where there were some media discussions, and now we have
- 12:45Speaker 7: the special session, so I think these were a little
- 12:48Speaker 7: bit less meaty and subject matter. But we did have
- 12:52Speaker 7: a press conference yesterday where House Democrats talked about childcare.
- 12:56Speaker 7: So I think that is definitely on people's mind, is
- 12:58Speaker 7: how do we get the governor to span this call
- 13:01Speaker 7: to get another some other bills on there, not just
- 13:04Speaker 7: his tax credit.

- 16:31Speaker 3: a small petty man. A million nicely will bring facts

- 16:43Speaker 3: Will it have long term negative effects on the natural

- 16:58Speaker 3: Want to quickly throw this out of your Last week Friday,
- 17:00Speaker 3: I think it was I got a text to the
- 17:01Speaker 3: show from a listener who is concerned that they could
- 17:04Speaker 3: no longer monitor Metro nine to one one calls here
- 17:06Speaker 3: in the Charleston area. I sent that text to Metro
- 17:09Speaker 3: nine to one one director Johnny Rutherford, along with the
- 17:11Speaker 3: number that was provided to me by the text. The
- 17:14Speaker 3: texter responded that mister Rutherford and his team were looking
- 17:18Speaker 3: into the situation. Yesterday, I had communication with Johnny Rutherford
- 17:22Speaker 3: saying the following, and I'm going to paraphrase it a
- 17:24Speaker 3: little bit. Apparently the problem was with Broadcastify and that platform.
- 17:29Speaker 3: It was marked as offline, which is something that is
- 17:31Speaker 3: outside the control of Metro Radio Group, and that is
- 17:35Speaker 3: out of their control and we don't know who to
- 17:37Speaker 3: contact about it. So there you go. Texture, The problem
- 17:40Speaker 3: with Metro nine to one one is with the provider.
- 17:42Speaker 3: And I'm a little out of my lane here because
- 17:44Speaker 3: I know absolutely nothing about this stuff, but just want

- 17:55Speaker 3: apparently it is their problem. Always glad to be at

- 18:01Speaker 3: is going to be here talking about the state income
- 18:03Speaker 3: tax and for some reason the Senator Tatar wanted to
- 18:05Speaker 3: talk about guns, So we'll get into that on tomorrow's show.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Also a special of it coming up called Chef's Challenge.
- 18:10Speaker 3: I will get into that. Want to walk home to
- 18:12Speaker 3: the show now. State Senator Mike Stewart, Good morning, sir,
- 18:14Speaker 3: Welcome to the show.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Hey, good morning, thanks for having me.
- 18:17Speaker 3: I know you're going to want to talk about. I
- 18:18Speaker 3: want to get your take on the debate last you.
- 18:20Speaker 6: Say though on the Texter, the Texter who said that
- 18:23Speaker 6: Jim Justice small man, I've never heard those two in
- 18:25Speaker 6: the same thing as before.
- 18:27Speaker 3: He's got jokes. He comes loaded with jokes this morning.
- 18:30Speaker 3: I do want to get your take a little bit
- 18:32Speaker 3: later on though on the debate last night, because I
- 18:35Speaker 3: want you to weigh in that. But one thing I
- 18:37Speaker 3: wanted to bring up is your involvement or you're jumping
- 18:42Speaker 3: into help or whatever it is you want to call it.
- 18:44Speaker 3: And this all has to do with protection for kids
- 18:46Speaker 3: playing football. This tragic death of the young man from
- 18:49Speaker 3: Boom County the discussion has turned Mike a senator to
- 18:53Speaker 3: these guardian caps, a further layer of protection placed on
- 18:57Speaker 3: the top of the regular helmets. They've been used in
- 18:59Speaker 3: college and the pro, normally more in practice type settings. Actually,
- 19:03Speaker 3: this past week on the NFL, I saw in the
- 19:05Speaker 3: Steelers game that one of their players was wearing one
- 19:08Speaker 3: in in game. What about this story? And I know
- 19:12Speaker 3: you cover that area as state center, but what about
- 19:14Speaker 3: this story? Is this guy the gut? You so involved
- 19:17Speaker 3: in it?
- 19:18Speaker 7: Well?
- 19:18Speaker 6: I tell you this is as a father, when you
- 19:21Speaker 6: hear a story like this, this, it breaks your heart.
- 19:23Speaker 6: And Coencratick an ordinary boy on an ordinary day out
- 19:28Speaker 6: playing football like many of our kids do when they
- 19:31Speaker 6: play athletics, and mom and dad looking on and other
- 19:35Speaker 6: parents looking on, and a head hit, an ordinary head
- 19:40Speaker 6: hit that drops them to the ground, and and this
- 19:44Speaker 6: tragic death. Listen, this is common sense today. When football
- 19:48Speaker 6: started a lot of people don't realize there were not
- 19:50Speaker 6: helmets when football started. The game of football started more
- 19:53Speaker 6: than one hundred years ago. Then we went to leather helmets,
- 19:56Speaker 6: then we went to plastic helmets. This is a natural
- 19:59Speaker 6: PROGRESSI of student athletic safety. We know the science is
- 20:03Speaker 6: definitive today chronic head trauma, and not every case. Most
- 20:08Speaker 6: cases don't end as tragically as Cohen Craddock's death on
- 20:13Speaker 6: the football field, but most pile up over time. It's
- 20:17Speaker 6: the trauma today that leads to next week, that leads
- 20:20Speaker 6: to the following week. And we may not see it
- 20:22Speaker 6: on the football field or in the classroom, but most
- 20:25Speaker 6: of these kids aren't growing up to be NFL stars.
- 20:28Speaker 6: They're growing up to be moms and dads and community
- 20:31Speaker 6: leaders and small business people. And we ought to be
- 20:34Speaker 6: doing everything we can within common sense and common constraint
- 20:38Speaker 6: to protect this perpetual head trauma that shows up twenty
- 20:42Speaker 6: years and thirty years later. This is perfect, perfect common sense.
- 20:47Speaker 6: And when you see the NFL and college football teams
- 20:51Speaker 6: taking that extra added layer of protection, I have no
- 20:55Speaker 6: idea why we haven't moved this direction already. This makes
- 20:59Speaker 6: common sense. I think the athletes on the field want
- 21:02Speaker 6: this to happen. I'm surprised, based off what I've looked
- 21:06Speaker 6: at so far, is that no state in the country
- 21:08Speaker 6: has taken the extra step to protect our kids from
- 21:11Speaker 6: the head trauma that happens every day on football fields,
- 21:15Speaker 6: volleyball courts, lacrosse fields play in soccer. We just need
- 21:20Speaker 6: to be smarter. We love competition, we love seeing our
- 21:23Speaker 6: kids out there compete. We love that they're engaged in
- 21:26Speaker 6: extracurricular activities, but we need to be smarter. And West
- 21:30Speaker 6: Virginia can lead the effort for the country on this
- 21:34Speaker 6: tragic effort and turn it into something positive. Cohen Cradox.
- 21:39Speaker 6: Untimely tragic passing can turn into saving countless people across
- 21:45Speaker 6: this country and keeping families from morning to celebrate. In
- 21:49Speaker 6: that touchdown on the field, I had an hour and
- 21:52Speaker 6: a half call with the Guardian Cap folks, and for
- 21:55Speaker 6: folks who don't know, it's like bubble wrap around your head, Yeah,
- 21:58Speaker 6: pretty much like bubble wrap around your head, but more
- 22:01Speaker 6: industrial style. They're not the only ones who have this
- 22:04Speaker 6: type of head protection. And the nfl WU has been
- 22:09Speaker 6: one of the leaders in this regard in terms of
- 22:11Speaker 6: head trauma science, the data behind it to know how
- 22:15Speaker 6: chronic it can be. And I intend to introduce a
- 22:18Speaker 6: bill of this coming session that won't speak specifically to
- 22:21Speaker 6: guardian caps, but speaks to the need for us to
- 22:25Speaker 6: be more cognizant, more aware. In fact, I've urged county
- 22:30Speaker 6: boards of Education in the WVSSAC to now begin the
- 22:34Speaker 6: effort of examining student athletic safety on the field and
- 22:39Speaker 6: on the court to make sure we're doing all we
- 22:41Speaker 6: can in a common sense way to protect our kids.
- 22:43Speaker 6: It's common sense we need to do this. It doesn't
- 22:46Speaker 6: cost much money to put every kid if we did
- 22:49Speaker 6: this in West Virginia, every kid on the football field
- 22:52Speaker 6: from grade school to high school, and a guardian cap
- 22:56Speaker 6: is about forty dollars.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Forty dollars to be clear, you're talking about endgame as well.
- 23:00Speaker 6: Right, Well, so I've said, and I'm open to a
- 23:03Speaker 6: discussion on this, but anytime there's contact in practice, for sure,
- 23:08Speaker 6: but definitely at the grade school, in middle school level.
- 23:12Speaker 6: It ought to be in game as well. But I
- 23:14Speaker 6: would welcome a discussion. Listen, no bill passes without a
- 23:17Speaker 6: negotiation or a discussion. So I'm open to a discussion,
- 23:20Speaker 6: but I'm not open to folks saying we don't need
- 23:23Speaker 6: that right now. We don't need that right now. And
- 23:25Speaker 6: in fact, if I were a helmet manufacturer, I'd be
- 23:28Speaker 6: adding a guardian cap or some other protective covering. And
- 23:32Speaker 6: so what I've seen even over the past few weeks
- 23:34Speaker 6: is that there's a bit of a street fight between
- 23:37Speaker 6: those folks who sell helmets and those folks who sell
- 23:39Speaker 6: the extra protection. But all I do is look at
- 23:42Speaker 6: the NFL and as a dad, and I know that
- 23:45Speaker 6: when my kids were playing volleyball at George Washington, and
- 23:48Speaker 6: I could see when those young ladies were up there
- 23:51Speaker 6: spiking the ball at sixty sixty five miles per hour
- 23:54Speaker 6: and kids were hitting the court and getting hit by
- 23:57Speaker 6: the ball and causing them head trauma or can go rushians.
- 24:01Speaker 6: I even said back then, why aren't they wearing any
- 24:03Speaker 6: sort of head protection? It just seems to make common sense.
- 24:06Speaker 6: We need to step up, and I've been encouraged even
- 24:09Speaker 6: the Governor for this special session that's coming up. Let's
- 24:11Speaker 6: do it now. Let's not wait till next year. Let's
- 24:14Speaker 6: avoid another tragedy. This is so easy for us to fix.
- 24:18Speaker 6: Let's do it now. Let's not wait.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Talking to Senator Mike Stewart, The Dave Allen Show and
- 24:22Speaker 3: five Any Live brought to a part by Jute for
- 24:24Speaker 3: the best and security systems for both your home or business.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Talk to jute. Otay's value as protected by jute joot
- 24:30Speaker 3: dot com have a text to the show, because anytime
- 24:33Speaker 3: I say Mike Stewart's coming on the show, I get
- 24:34Speaker 3: text and I had one yesterday and I can't, for
- 24:37Speaker 3: the life of me see to find it, but I
- 24:38Speaker 3: will paraphrase it. And it basically was saying that from you,
- 24:42Speaker 3: you know, hear me out in this This was a
- 24:43Speaker 3: texture that from you. It was kind of a weird
- 24:46Speaker 3: flex because you were someone who I think was pretty
- 24:48Speaker 3: adamantly against mask mandates. And why what's the difference between
- 24:52Speaker 3: the two I have. I think that's an unfair comparison.
- 24:57Speaker 3: I have my opinion, But what would you say to that.
- 25:00Speaker 6: I think at any point when you look at my
- 25:02Speaker 6: career over the long term, it's been about protecting our kids.
- 25:05Speaker 6: That's been a common thing.
- 25:07Speaker 3: And so my point exactly kids, whether we're kids at whether.
- 25:11Speaker 4: We're talking about child welfare.
- 25:13Speaker 6: And I've been one of the few people loudly saying
- 25:16Speaker 6: we need a full, deep dive, independent investigation the child
- 25:20Speaker 6: welfare system to be able to make sure the system
- 25:23Speaker 6: works better. Our system is broken. We're making improvements, We're
- 25:27Speaker 6: doing the best we can to try to make improvements,
- 25:28Speaker 6: but guess what, it's broken. It needs to be fixed.
- 25:32Speaker 4: We need to worry.
- 25:33Speaker 6: Less about who's going to get in trouble from a
- 25:36Speaker 6: deep dive investigation, but we need to do it. On
- 25:39Speaker 6: the issue of guardian caps, it's common sense. As a
- 25:42Speaker 6: mom and dad, I can tell you moms and dads
- 25:43Speaker 6: from across West Virginia and across the country for that matter,
- 25:46Speaker 6: are reaching out to me right now. Former coaches here
- 25:50Speaker 6: in West Virginia are reaching out to me saying this
- 25:52Speaker 6: is something that needs to be done. It's common sense
- 25:55Speaker 6: when you look at the issue of dispensaries in the
- 25:58Speaker 6: marijuana issue. I've all spoken in terms of protecting our kids.
- 26:02Speaker 6: The common theme of everything I've done throughout my career
- 26:05Speaker 6: is focus on protecting our kids, and so I'm going
- 26:08Speaker 6: to continue to do that.
- 26:09Speaker 4: I didn't ask to be on your show today.
- 26:10Speaker 6: I was invited to be out yeah, exactly, and didn't
- 26:13Speaker 6: solicit it.
- 26:14Speaker 4: This is something I reached out to you.
- 26:15Speaker 3: I reach out to you.
- 26:16Speaker 6: It's something I believe in, and we're going to continue
- 26:19Speaker 6: to fight for these issues. I may not look at
- 26:21Speaker 6: the world exactly the same as other people. I have
- 26:24Speaker 6: my view, but I think the most important thing we
- 26:26Speaker 6: can do is protect our children. All across West Virginia,
- 26:29Speaker 6: whether it's from drugs, whether it's on the football field
- 26:32Speaker 6: or otherwise, that's always going to be where I focus
- 26:34Speaker 6: my time.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Tex says ask Mike. I gun violence kills more kids
- 26:39Speaker 3: and playing football, why not get bulletproof vest for kids?
- 26:41Speaker 6: So everybody likes to throw the stuff out there, and
- 26:43Speaker 6: that's just sort of a ridiculous question. I get it
- 26:46Speaker 6: that I'm a target for these types of questions, but
- 26:48Speaker 6: I believe that guns also protect public, the public through
- 26:53Speaker 6: the safety of making sure they're safe inside their owns.
- 26:57Speaker 6: When you have folks coming across the border like we
- 26:59Speaker 6: do today, when you have drug dealers on our streets
- 27:02Speaker 6: like you do today, when you have the homeless problem
- 27:05Speaker 6: and mental health issues that we do today, I think
- 27:08Speaker 6: those folks who have the protection of a firearm, those
- 27:13Speaker 6: aren't folks who are causing issues on our streets. And
- 27:16Speaker 6: so I think we can have a broad discussion on
- 27:19Speaker 6: this and use common sense. But we've gotten to a
- 27:21Speaker 6: point where the politics is so bitter that if you
- 27:24Speaker 6: have any opinion on anything, folks just want to undercut you.
- 27:27Speaker 6: They don't want to have good discussions. Ad somebody on
- 27:29Speaker 6: social media it's a media person, but on social media,
- 27:32Speaker 6: they say the worst things about me, just terrible. And
- 27:35Speaker 6: they called me one day for common on a story
- 27:38Speaker 6: and I called them back and they said, hey, do
- 27:39Speaker 6: you know who I am. I said, yeah, you're the
- 27:40Speaker 6: person who says all that bad stuff about me on
- 27:42Speaker 6: social media. And they said, well, well, but that's social media.
- 27:46Speaker 6: That's social media. That's different than when I call you.
- 27:48Speaker 6: And I said, listen, you should be the same way
- 27:50Speaker 6: on social media as you are when you speak to
- 27:52Speaker 6: me on the phone. And I don't care if you're liberal, conservative,
- 27:56Speaker 6: if you support President Trump or you support Vice President Harris.
- 28:00Speaker 6: We can be civil in our discussions. We can agree
- 28:03Speaker 6: and disagree strongly, but it doesn't mean we have to
- 28:07Speaker 6: be so disrespectful in our conduct of our discussion. And
- 28:11Speaker 6: I think that's where we need to begin in having
- 28:14Speaker 6: these honest discussions. These are serious issues, but it doesn't
- 28:18Speaker 6: mean we don't like each other and can't get along.
- 28:20Speaker 3: At the end of the day, let's talk about the
- 28:22Speaker 3: debate last night. You know you in a full disclosure
- 28:25Speaker 3: former head of the Trump campaign twenty sixteenth in West Virginia.
- 28:30Speaker 3: So what was your takeaway last night?
- 28:32Speaker 4: So I think today i'd be surprised.
- 28:34Speaker 6: If you can find anybody who didn't support President Trump
- 28:37Speaker 6: or didn't support Vice President Harris that changed their mind
- 28:40Speaker 6: last night, Listen, nothing burger, We're going to cover this thing.
- 28:43Speaker 6: But the reality is these debates aren't a big deal anymore.
- 28:47Speaker 6: We cover them like they're massive. We look for how
- 28:50Speaker 6: did he stand and how did she look? What did
- 28:52Speaker 6: he say? What did she say? Where's the good glib
- 28:55Speaker 6: one line or The reality is nobody changed their minds
- 28:58Speaker 6: where it exactly the same. But today as we were yesterday,
- 29:02Speaker 6: and this comment more, we're even we're dug in now
- 29:05Speaker 6: where if we're dug in and you can look at
- 29:06Speaker 6: his comment about this or what she said about that, Listen,
- 29:10Speaker 6: it's a ninety minute debate. I'd rather look at records
- 29:14Speaker 6: over the long term. I'm voting for President Trump. I'm
- 29:17Speaker 6: voting because I think it's incredibly important for our country.
- 29:21Speaker 6: And I realized there's some folks who disagree with that.
- 29:23Speaker 6: I respect that. But anybody telling me that the entire
- 29:27Speaker 6: basis of how they vote in this election is based
- 29:29Speaker 6: off some ninety minute debate on television, that's gobbledy guck.
- 29:35Speaker 4: That's garbage. No, I don't believe it for a second.
- 29:37Speaker 3: And I tend to agree with you on that, Mike, Senator.
- 29:40Speaker 3: But what about those that are undecided? There are some
- 29:44Speaker 3: out there. I don't know anybody personally in my bubble
- 29:46Speaker 3: in West Virginia, but let's say go out there are
- 29:49Speaker 3: still they say, in especially some of the swing states.
- 29:51Speaker 3: And you know how this works, there are still people
- 29:53Speaker 3: that may be undecided. Were they swayed in any way
- 29:56Speaker 3: last night or did they just look at both of
- 29:58Speaker 3: them and say, you know, screw, I'm out.
- 30:01Speaker 6: I think this election comes down to two questions, right,
- 30:03Speaker 6: which is, are you better off today than you were
- 30:05Speaker 6: four years ago? That's that's always the measure. Are you
- 30:09Speaker 6: doing better today than you were four years ago? And two,
- 30:12Speaker 6: I think there are a lot of folks that want change,
- 30:14Speaker 6: but they want to make sure the next four years
- 30:16Speaker 6: aren't chaos. And so when they look at the Trump
- 30:18Speaker 6: team and the Trump campaign, I think if they can
- 30:22Speaker 6: understand and feel comfortable that we're not looking at four
- 30:25Speaker 6: years of chaos, I think he wins this race.
- 30:28Speaker 4: His job.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Aren't we under chaos with Trump?
- 30:30Speaker 6: Mike?
- 30:31Speaker 4: That's my point.
- 30:32Speaker 6: I think there are a lot of folks who look
- 30:33Speaker 6: at the first four years and say, gosh, it was exhausting.
- 30:37Speaker 4: Right, There were always big changes. His record was big.
- 30:40Speaker 6: He did a great job in my view, but it
- 30:42Speaker 6: was always unpredictable, day after day after day. I think
- 30:45Speaker 6: there are a lot of soccer moms out there, a
- 30:48Speaker 6: lot of suburban people who are saying, if it's not
- 30:51Speaker 6: going to be chaos, i'll support President Trump. His job
- 30:54Speaker 6: between now an election day is to make it clear
- 30:57Speaker 6: this is not going to be an administration of chaos.
- 31:00Speaker 6: It's going to be an administration of economic and social
- 31:04Speaker 6: renewal across the country. But the chaos thing, I think
- 31:07Speaker 6: that's what people are frustrated by.
- 31:08Speaker 3: And I get that. And especially he hasn't helped that
- 31:11Speaker 3: Senator by saying things like using terms like retribution and
- 31:15Speaker 3: things of that nature when he gets into office. I
- 31:18Speaker 3: mean he doesn't really he could, I feel, Mike, with
- 31:21Speaker 3: all due respect, I think that former President Trump could
- 31:23Speaker 3: go a long way into possibly helping his own cause
- 31:29Speaker 3: I don't know last night that he did that.
- 31:31Speaker 6: Well.
- 31:31Speaker 4: I don't disagree with you.
- 31:32Speaker 6: What I'd love to hear from him, and I doubt
- 31:34Speaker 6: we're gonna hear it is I wasn't perfect that every
- 31:37Speaker 6: day I got up. I worked hard for the American people,
- 31:40Speaker 6: and this time I'm going to work just as hard,
- 31:43Speaker 6: and I'm gonna show you how I learned from those
- 31:46Speaker 6: things I did that weren't perfect. I think if he
- 31:48Speaker 6: were just to say a few things like that, I
- 31:51Speaker 6: think it would go a long way to close in

- 32:15Speaker 6: When we look at the inconsistent policies with respect to

- 32:20Speaker 6: billions of dollars we're spending in Ukraine in an endless war,
- 32:24Speaker 6: that's not President Trump. I think people are hungry for change.
- 32:28Speaker 6: All they want to know is that I'm going to
- 32:30Speaker 6: have four years without chaos. They want to make sure
- 32:32Speaker 6: that there's a good, everyday effort to try to focus
- 32:36Speaker 6: on the American people.

- 33:01Speaker 6: and I pray for those folks. I still get emotional
- 33:03Speaker 6: when I think back to nine to eleven. Our country
- 33:07Speaker 6: is slowing slowly, forgetting, forgetting agreed the importance of that
- 33:11Speaker 6: day and what it meant for this country. We've never
- 33:13Speaker 6: been the same since. And I think of Todd Beemer often.
- 33:17Speaker 6: He was the guy on that flight that organized everybody
- 33:22Speaker 6: to take that plane down to avoid it going into Washington,
- 33:26Speaker 6: and who knows what the target would have been, but
- 33:28Speaker 6: I admire him. He's an American hero, and I say
- 33:31Speaker 6: it often. Every nine to eleven I say a prayer
- 33:34Speaker 6: for him. Letural all right.

- 37:53Speaker 3: They're eating the dogs, the people that came in. They're
- 37:56Speaker 3: eating the cats. I can't get that out of my head.
- 38:00Speaker 3: I'm sorry. I just when I heard that last night.
- 38:02Speaker 3: From that and by the way, that story has been
- 38:04Speaker 3: debunked by let's see, the Springfield Police Department, by the
- 38:12Speaker 3: mayor's office in Springfield, and also by the Republican governor
- 38:16Speaker 3: of Ohio who also said that. Mike Dwine has said
- 38:20Speaker 3: that that's not happening. Tex says debates can move the needle.
- 38:25Speaker 3: The last debate with Biden moved the needle big time. Agreed,
- 38:28Speaker 3: don't dismiss them outright. That is a mistake, says the TEXTA.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Checter says, didn't Democrats say the same thing about after
- 38:35Speaker 3: the first debate saying that they don't matter or something
- 38:37Speaker 3: of that effect. And yeah, I would agree with that, man,
- 38:41Speaker 3: if I could this one. I think wrote a book.
- 38:44Speaker 3: I'm going to read as much of it as I can.
- 38:46Speaker 3: Harris knew where and how to hit Trump on a
- 38:49Speaker 3: personal level. She figured out how to not only press
- 38:52Speaker 3: his buttons, but calls him to abandon rational thinking. As
- 38:55Speaker 3: a result, he played to win the battle, not the war,
- 38:57Speaker 3: and ended up losing his way on both. Harris did
- 39:00Speaker 3: not do enough to win voters who key in on ecotomy,
- 39:04Speaker 3: energy or physical policy. If she wants moderates and independence,
- 39:07Speaker 3: they aren't sold on last night's ability to square Trump
- 39:11Speaker 3: or force him to go off the tangents. They need
- 39:14Speaker 3: more tangible, documented policy stances in order to commit. Otherwise
- 39:17Speaker 3: these voters will go another way or will swallow hard
- 39:20Speaker 3: and vote for Trump. Trump should have owned her on immigration,
- 39:23Speaker 3: and he fumbled it. Still worried about his addressing about
- 39:27Speaker 3: perception saving face. He needed that issue to turn moment
- 39:30Speaker 3: of back his way, and he botched him. Harris cornered
- 39:32Speaker 3: him on abortion and won there. Moderate women will respond favorably.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Trump needed to hit her on tax cuts and job
- 39:39Speaker 3: acts which are set to expire. Need to press that
- 39:42Speaker 3: under his administration those cuts would continue and under a
- 39:44Speaker 3: Harris administration they would not. That was a huge mess
- 39:47Speaker 3: and would have damned her with the economic focused voters.
- 39:50Speaker 3: The junctaposition wasn't great for Trump. She won the optics
- 39:53Speaker 3: battle and appearance vote. His frustrations sometimes play it as
- 39:56Speaker 3: mental gas. Dems will try to hang that on him,
- 39:59Speaker 3: just as he hung it on Biden. Doesn't know the
- 40:01Speaker 3: difference between West Virginia and Virginia. Yeah, that's a big
- 40:04Speaker 3: part of it too. I'll get into that if I
- 40:05Speaker 3: can look for Harris to deny Trump another debate, she
- 40:08Speaker 3: doesn't need it at this point. She can now focus
- 40:10Speaker 3: on specific policy stances targeted to specific building blocks. He
- 40:14Speaker 3: needs to rebound personally and regain the high ground on
- 40:16Speaker 3: core issues like immigration. By the way, she came out
- 40:19Speaker 3: afterwards and says she wants more debates. Somebody givin Strump
- 40:23Speaker 3: not to be himself. He started out bottling of his
- 40:26Speaker 3: emotion and his way of bantering. People may not like it,
- 40:28Speaker 3: but generally who he is. When a candidate abandons who
- 40:31Speaker 3: he is, good or bad, he's lost. Play nice or
- 40:34Speaker 3: nice with Biden worked, It didn't last night. If you're
- 40:36Speaker 3: going to be judged, be judged for what you are.
- 40:39Speaker 4: Own it.
- 40:39Speaker 3: He followed bad advice, and that allowed Harris to get
- 40:42Speaker 3: under his skin. If he proactively shuts down her from
- 40:45Speaker 3: square one like he has with other people. She would
- 40:48Speaker 3: not have had it in He could have played his
- 40:50Speaker 3: game from that point on like the biggest mistake of

- 42:41Speaker 3: Mike Stewart. Anytime there's a tragedy, it seemed like Mike
- 42:44Speaker 3: magically shows up and inserts himself. I hope I'm wrong

- 46:50Speaker 3: The biggest relevation revelation of the evening was from me.
- 46:54Speaker 3: Taylor Swift considers self a childless cat lady. Speaking of
- 46:58Speaker 3: Taylor Swift's kudos to to producer Ryan Nicholson for bringing
- 47:01Speaker 3: this up to me. It was in my copious amounts
- 47:03Speaker 3: of notes here It came out last night after the
- 47:06Speaker 3: debate that the biggest pop star, the biggest star in
- 47:09Speaker 3: the planet, Taylor Swift, is endorsing for current Vice President
- 47:15Speaker 3: Kamala Harris. Now, did you think for a moment that
- 47:19Speaker 3: she was going to endorse Trump? I mean, let's be
- 47:21Speaker 3: honest here and people, and I've been one that is
- 47:25Speaker 3: kind of just you know whatever, celebrities. I don't care
- 47:27Speaker 3: what a no, throw your ball, play your guitar. I
- 47:29Speaker 3: really don't care what you think. But I'm gonna say
- 47:31Speaker 3: this about Taylor Swift. I can't name a single Taylor
- 47:34Speaker 3: Swift song, and it's probably good because I'm nearly fifty
- 47:36Speaker 3: four years old. It would be weirdness hell if I did.
- 47:39Speaker 3: But I will say this about Taylor Swift. She's the
- 47:42Speaker 3: biggest star in the planet. And if you don't think
- 47:45Speaker 3: that that endorsement means something, you might want to check
- 47:49Speaker 3: the voter registration rolls of Vera McCormick here in Kanawa
- 47:52Speaker 3: County or brian Wood or Putnam County or one of
- 47:53Speaker 3: the other county clerks and see how many Swifties are
- 47:57Speaker 3: seen today, whether they are regis stirred to vote, and
- 48:01Speaker 3: where they go vote it's a big deal. It is
- 48:04Speaker 3: a really really big deal. Again, I'm one that says
- 48:07Speaker 3: that celebrity I don't. I mean, they're entitled their opinions
- 48:11Speaker 3: like everybody else. I don't think they should hold more
- 48:12Speaker 3: water than the guy who is, you know, fixing your
- 48:15Speaker 3: air conditioner or the person waiting on you at Wendy's.
- 48:18Speaker 3: But you know, she's the biggest star on the planet,
- 48:22Speaker 3: and I think it's going to go a long, long
- 48:25Speaker 3: wait now on the whole thing with him saying that
- 48:30Speaker 3: the former governor of West Virginia executed babies after they
- 48:35Speaker 3: were born. Okay, first of all, he attributed that to
- 48:39Speaker 3: the former West Virginia governor, which in this case would
- 48:41Speaker 3: be Earl Ray Tomlin. I know Earl Ray Tomlin. That
- 48:46Speaker 3: didn't happen. He was referring to Virginia Governor Rout Northam,
- 48:50Speaker 3: and he didn't say that either. He was referring to
- 48:52Speaker 3: late term pregnancies when fetuses are non viable, and that
- 48:56Speaker 3: the discussion should be had with the mother. Uh. There
- 49:00Speaker 3: were a lot of other facts on both sides that
- 49:05Speaker 3: that were not facts.
- 49:07Speaker 6: Uh.
- 49:07Speaker 3: Trump said Harris wouldn't uh wouldn't meet with that in
- 49:10Speaker 3: Yahoo that's half true, half true. She did meet with
- 49:14Speaker 3: him the following day. I called her out on the
- 49:15Speaker 3: show if you remember from not meeting with him, But
- 49:18Speaker 3: she didn't meet with him. It just happened to be.
- 49:20Speaker 3: The following day, Trump said the US left millions of
- 49:24Speaker 3: brand new military equipment in Afghanistan that has been proven
- 49:27Speaker 3: by nonpartisan fact checkers to be false. I told you
- 49:32Speaker 3: about the Haitian immigrants thing. You got to look at
- 49:35Speaker 3: credible news sources. And I appreciate my listeners. My text
- 49:38Speaker 3: was sending me all these stories, but look if it
- 49:39Speaker 3: doesn't come from a credible freaking news source, I'm I
- 49:43Speaker 3: had people sending me stuff last night and people posting
- 49:46Speaker 3: online these what looked like cam coord videos of something
- 49:51Speaker 3: from you know, John's basement or something. I mean, you
- 49:53Speaker 3: got to do better than that, man. You know, if
- 49:55Speaker 3: the police says it didn't happen, the mayor says it
- 49:57Speaker 3: didn't happen, the Republican governor says it didn't happen, and
- 50:01Speaker 3: didn't happen. Tex says Dave. We should honor and remember
- 50:04Speaker 3: those who we lost a nine to eleven and what
- 50:07Speaker 3: the ensuing fights in the Middle East costs, especially to
- 50:10Speaker 3: our veterans, but we should also learn from it better
- 50:13Speaker 3: understand extremism by not just foreign entities, but also here
- 50:16Speaker 3: at home in a polarized America. One hundred percent.
- 50:23Speaker 2: Agree.
- 50:26Speaker 3: Not a fake news story Springfield residency. Haitian migrants are
- 50:29Speaker 3: decapitating in eating ducks in the park as Ohio town
- 50:33Speaker 3: rages over explosion of microsom Springfield, Ohio Council meeting. All right,
- 50:37Speaker 3: sent me a link. I will look at it. Can't
- 50:39Speaker 3: look at it when I'm on the air, but I
- 50:40Speaker 3: do appreciate that. I will say this about and I'm
- 50:44Speaker 3: glad that the textra pointed that out about extremism, and
- 50:48Speaker 3: this might be a way to sort of close the show.
- 50:52Speaker 3: You know, today is the twenty third anniversary of nine
- 50:54Speaker 3: to eleven. We all remember where we were. I talked
- 50:56Speaker 3: about it with a million with Senator Stewart, my other
- 50:58Speaker 3: people that were on the show today. We all remember
- 50:59Speaker 3: were we were. I posted something though on my personal
- 51:02Speaker 3: Facebook page. Many of you followed me there. I posted
- 51:05Speaker 3: I tend to be a little bit more personal, may okay,
- 51:07Speaker 3: mainly food picks and sports stuff about we talked about
- 51:12Speaker 3: September eleventh, But do you remember September twelfth. September twelfth
- 51:20Speaker 3: was the day that everybody, Republican, Democrat, liberal, conservative, all
- 51:31Speaker 3: came out of that twenty four hour or so slumber
- 51:35Speaker 3: that we were in. That's stupor, I guess is probably
- 51:37Speaker 3: a better term. When we didn't know what to do
- 51:40Speaker 3: and everybody united. Do you think that would happen today?
- 51:46Speaker 3: Let's think about that for a moment. And I've brought
- 51:49Speaker 3: this up on the show before. If if not eleven
- 51:53Speaker 3: were to happen today, immediately Fox News would be all
- 51:59Speaker 3: over it, blaming the Biden administration. MSNBC would be all
- 52:03Speaker 3: over it, you know, blaming, blaming former President Trump. Somehow
- 52:09Speaker 3: I get tons of texts of this show where people
- 52:11Speaker 3: were blaming everybody. But on September twelfth, two thousand and one,
- 52:15Speaker 3: America came together, Republican, Democrat, liberal, conservative and said this,
- 52:22Speaker 3: we're in a bad place. And folks, I'll tell you
- 52:24Speaker 3: right now, I'm going to close this. We're in a
- 52:26Speaker 3: bad place right now in America. We need we need
- 52:28Speaker 3: September twelfth, two thousand and one, that's what we need.
- 52:32Speaker 3: Day Island Show A five any Line brought to you
- 52:33Speaker 3: Partment by Morgan and Morgan, America's largest injury law firm,
- 52:36Speaker 3: injured visit for the people dot Com. I'll be coming
- 52:38Speaker 3: up a talk line. I will see you tomorrow. Till then,
- 52:40Speaker 3: have fun. I love somebody.
- 52:50Speaker 2: I think trust one four point five Cross Lane on
- 52:53Speaker 2: WVRC Media Station. We're proud to live here too,
