- 0:30Speaker 2: The six words that doctors hear too often from male patients,
- 0:35Speaker 2: but they hate to hear it because it's a huge
- 0:37Speaker 2: red flag, and that is if I gets five or seven,
- 0:39Speaker 2: I'm sorry, but it's I'm only here because she made me.
- 0:42Speaker 2: My wife sent me. You know, I'm here because my
- 0:44Speaker 2: wife told me to. How true is that? I mean?
- 0:47Speaker 2: I literally went and got tested for ORSLEEPATNA because of
- 0:50Speaker 2: my wife, and now I'm going to get a CEPAP.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I didn't go because I cared. I put that. I
- 0:54Speaker 2: thought about that when I was twenty, I was like,
- 0:55Speaker 2: I probably should do that. At some point, say.
- 1:02Speaker 3: I laugh, we did it. We're back. Stay out of
- 1:07Speaker 3: my fridge. It's the two of us again today. And
- 1:11Speaker 3: by us, it's me, it's Matt, it's Beard laws and
- 1:14Speaker 3: joining me is Brandon Jay McDermott, the Golden Voice. What's up, buddy?
- 1:20Speaker 2: Not much? Man, doing all right, trudging alone, good, having
- 1:23Speaker 2: a good one, trying to slow down. Man, I had
- 1:25Speaker 2: a weird moment I want to talk about in a
- 1:28Speaker 2: little bit. But I'm doing good.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Yeah, Oh, weird moments. I'm trying to slow down too.
- 1:32Speaker 3: But I don't know. We were talking a little bit
- 1:34Speaker 3: of backstages, like I just don't really have time to
- 1:36Speaker 3: slow down. I don't know everybody's so you're gonna miss
- 1:39Speaker 3: it all. You're gonna miss it when when the kids
- 1:41Speaker 3: are older and gone. And I'm still disagreeing. I've talked
- 1:44Speaker 3: to my parents. I've been out of the house for
- 1:46Speaker 3: a little bit, and they're enjoying life pretty good. But
- 1:49Speaker 3: I get what they mean, like I do a lot
- 1:51Speaker 3: for the kids and just in my opinion, like any
- 1:53Speaker 3: good parent would. And I'll miss some of that. But
- 1:56Speaker 3: it's kind of bittersweet. You know, as we get older,
- 1:58Speaker 3: they're still headaches. I know I was still a nightmare
- 2:01Speaker 3: for my parents as I got a little bit older
- 2:03Speaker 3: and hopefully they it's not payback. But we got a
- 2:07Speaker 3: nice day finally. That's cool.
- 2:08Speaker 2: It's been a nice few days here. The weather is
- 2:10Speaker 2: starting to turn. It's definitely springtime, getting close to summer.
- 2:14Speaker 2: It almost feels like my moment was is somewhat somewhat
- 2:19Speaker 2: related to that. I think the weird moment. Yeah, so
- 2:25Speaker 2: I was in my backyard last week and sitting down
- 2:30Speaker 2: and watching my daughter's play in the backyard and run around,
- 2:33Speaker 2: and my redheaded second daughter was running around and smiling.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Middle child as well. Yeah, really, paint the picture.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Mm hmm. So god lover, she's a she's a cutie pie,
- 2:52Speaker 2: but she she was running around with her sister and
- 2:56Speaker 2: they don't get along all the time the best. And
- 2:59Speaker 2: so I thought to myself, ooh, here's a moment where
- 3:02Speaker 2: they're running around laughing, Daddy's not involved where I could ooh,
- 3:05Speaker 2: quick pull the picture out in step because like every parent,
- 3:08Speaker 2: let's capture it. And I say that it's not an
- 3:12Speaker 2: issue for just today. My grandfather, who was born in
- 3:15Speaker 2: nineteen twenty was taking pictures and had the camp quarter
- 3:18Speaker 2: out for every Easter and Christmas and holiday and everything
- 3:21Speaker 2: you could imagine. Birthdays. I've got tapes of tapes and
- 3:24Speaker 2: tapes and compilations of and you can watch in order
- 3:27Speaker 2: Halloween ninety one, Christmas ninety one, Brandon's birthday ninety two,
- 3:30Speaker 2: Dad's birthday ninety two, et cetera, et cetera, and so on.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Because he wanted to capture it too. That's just our essence.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Once we figured out how to do that, we want
- 3:37Speaker 2: to do that. But in the moment I said to
- 3:39Speaker 2: myself it was a weird It was epiphany I had.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I said, no, I'm going to sit back and I'm
- 3:46Speaker 2: going to experience this, right. That was the idea, right.
- 3:50Speaker 2: And as I'm sitting there, watch it happen, and I
- 3:53Speaker 2: can see it replay my mind. And that's memory is
- 3:55Speaker 2: great because it fades. It's not one hundred percent. Start
- 4:00Speaker 2: remembering back and I'm thinking, I'm shit, I'm probably less
- 4:02Speaker 2: than thirty percent accurate. I don't know what was there
- 4:04Speaker 2: clouds in the sky that day? Was that green tree
- 4:06Speaker 2: over here? Over? You know, I don't remember all the
- 4:08Speaker 2: stuff like anybody. But in that moment, I not only
- 4:12Speaker 2: experienced it, but I thought to myself, we get to
- 4:19Speaker 2: it's a weird thought here, So follow me. But we
- 4:21Speaker 2: get to not just experience life whether or not you
- 4:25Speaker 2: get the positives and negatives from it, but you have to.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I want to live it. I want to live it
- 4:30Speaker 2: in experience, whether or not I can remember this memory
- 4:33Speaker 2: that I'm trying to remember or not I'm going to
- 4:36Speaker 2: experience it, right. That was the thought I had, and
- 4:38Speaker 2: I was like, Wow, how powerful that is. As parents,
- 4:41Speaker 2: we want to capture everything. We want to do everything right.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Make sure we're being the right parents. Make sure we're
- 4:46Speaker 2: not being our parents, make sure we're not doing what
- 4:48Speaker 2: Billy down the street does to his kids. Blah blah blah,
- 4:50Speaker 2: et cetera, et cetera. But this, and sometimes we miss
- 4:53Speaker 2: out on all the other stuff. Like we talk all
- 4:57Speaker 2: the time, you and I and you and we chat
- 4:59Speaker 2: back and forth about all the different craziness of each
- 5:03Speaker 2: schedule that we each have, and it's the grind of
- 5:08Speaker 2: it all that kind of just flows together. Shit, it's
- 5:11Speaker 2: May of twenty twenty.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Five, dude, I know, in middle of May at that.
- 5:17Speaker 2: So like we're halfway through a fourth way through, halfway
- 5:21Speaker 2: through a year of a fourth, way through a quarter
- 5:24Speaker 2: of a century. Like that's nuts to me anyway, It
- 5:26Speaker 2: was just December. It was just twenty twelve. It feels
- 5:29Speaker 2: like I was just fourteen and it was two thousand
- 5:32Speaker 2: and one. But so, But anyway, in that moment, I
- 5:37Speaker 2: was like, wow, look, content creator. Always want to capture stuff,
- 5:40Speaker 2: always want to get that moment, not because I was
- 5:42Speaker 2: going to post it online, but so I could save
- 5:44Speaker 2: it in our drop box for our family history, all
- 5:47Speaker 2: the family photos, the baptism photos, the party photos, the
- 5:51Speaker 2: you know, the photos from backyard barbecues and everything else.
- 5:54Speaker 2: And I didn't. I said, no, I'm going to experience it. It
- 5:57Speaker 2: was wild. It was wild. Being a parent is weird.
- 6:01Speaker 3: That's an understatement.
- 6:02Speaker 2: And I've also noticed how you parent each child as
- 6:04Speaker 2: they come out. It's weird too.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Oh, you aren't kidding. There's a different dynamic two each
- 6:10Speaker 3: and you know, my dynamic is much different than your dynamic,
- 6:13Speaker 3: which is much different than you Bean's dynamic. And that's
- 6:16Speaker 3: just three of the millions and millions of people on
- 6:19Speaker 3: this planet. You know what I mean? And I always say,
- 6:21Speaker 3: might tell myself I may not be the best parent,
- 6:24Speaker 3: but I can tell you, damn well, I'm not the worst.
- 6:26Speaker 3: You know what I mean. My Granam's always used to say,
- 6:28Speaker 3: you don't have to look far to see somebody that
- 6:29Speaker 3: has it worse than you. So if I've ever had
- 6:31Speaker 3: this moment, like, you know, a lot these kids are
- 6:33Speaker 3: doing pretty good, you know what I mean. The grades
- 6:35Speaker 3: are good, they're they're they're not. Yeah, they fight with
- 6:38Speaker 3: each other, and that's normal. Like you were kind of saying,
- 6:41Speaker 3: like they don't always get along. Turns out sisters don't
- 6:43Speaker 3: always get along. I mean, that's that's something that I'm
- 6:46Speaker 3: really trying to to do. But I'm with you on that.
- 6:50Speaker 3: There's a lot of times, you know, like even two
- 6:52Speaker 3: of the kids had a dance thing the other day,
- 6:55Speaker 3: like and I didn't want to pull out my phone
- 6:57Speaker 3: phone and record it. I just wanted to sit there
- 6:59Speaker 3: why and just live in it. But then I'm like,
- 7:02Speaker 3: you know what, ten years from now, I'm not going
- 7:04Speaker 3: to remember this. So I just kind of did one
- 7:05Speaker 3: of these held it here and then just watched it
- 7:08Speaker 3: a lot, you know what i mean. So it was
- 7:09Speaker 3: like I was watching it, but it was it was
- 7:11Speaker 3: still there. I'm not watching it through the phone. So
- 7:12Speaker 3: it made me feel a little bit better about myself.
- 7:15Speaker 3: But I've been, I've been I've been seeing those like,
- 7:18Speaker 3: like those memories. I'm a Google guy. I have the
- 7:20Speaker 3: Google Pixel phone, so they do these albums every day.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Here's your memories from four years ago. Here's your memory
- 7:26Speaker 3: from ten years ago. It's similar to snapchat and stuff
- 7:29Speaker 3: like that that they all do. And I'm sure Crapple
- 7:31Speaker 3: and all those other brands and stuff do stuff like that,
- 7:33Speaker 3: but I mean, I almost have to stop looking at them.
- 7:36Speaker 3: I see these pictures from four to ten years ago,
- 7:39Speaker 3: and I'm like, Nope, don't want to cry today. It's
- 7:44Speaker 3: lifely weird like that, isn't it? It really is? And
- 7:48Speaker 3: like I said, there's like you said, I mean, being
- 7:50Speaker 3: a parent, being a husband, being you know, whatever the
- 7:53Speaker 3: dynamic is. There's a lot of shitty times, but there's
- 7:56Speaker 3: a lot of great times too, And I'm with you.
- 7:58Speaker 3: I was sitting there on the port the other day,
- 8:00Speaker 3: just rocking, and I had nothing to do, and the
- 8:04Speaker 3: wife looked at me and goes, you're not good at this.
- 8:07Speaker 3: I go what? She goes doing nothing? I can feel
- 8:10Speaker 3: you thinking, and I go, what am I thinking? She
- 8:13Speaker 3: looks at me. Maybe I'll go show some hoops, Maybe
- 8:15Speaker 3: I'll go record a video. Maybe i'll go cook this.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Maybe I'll go do this. She's like, it's radiating from you.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Just shut up and do nothing. Start a fire. If
- 8:24Speaker 3: you have to be tea, just do nothing, can you.
- 8:26Speaker 3: So I'm sitting there, I'm like, no, I can do this.
- 8:28Speaker 3: I lasted like ten minutes and I'm like, I can't
- 8:31Speaker 3: sit here. And it was in last week when when
- 8:35Speaker 3: Uban was here. He recently was sharing that he went
- 8:38Speaker 3: to the doctors found out I can believe he has ADHD,
- 8:41Speaker 3: so they put him on some medicine. And just the
- 8:43Speaker 3: difference of he's like, dude, I think I can read
- 8:45Speaker 3: a book now. I went through my car, I went
- 8:47Speaker 3: through my cupboards the other day and organized him from
- 8:49Speaker 3: this to this, and I just he's like, it's really
- 8:51Speaker 3: honed me in. And I'm just like, shit, I got something.
- 8:55Speaker 3: Maybe I should see a doctor, but I'm not gonna.
- 8:58Speaker 2: You know, I was reading on the Right Show this
- 9:00Speaker 2: morning the six words that doctors hear too often from
- 9:05Speaker 2: male patients, but they hate to hear it because it's
- 9:08Speaker 2: a huge red flag, and that is if I get
- 9:11Speaker 2: five or seven, I'm sorry, but it's I'm only here
- 9:14Speaker 2: because she made me or something like that. Oh my
- 9:16Speaker 2: wife sent me. You know I'm here because my wife
- 9:19Speaker 2: told me Tom And how true is that? I mean,
- 9:23Speaker 2: I literally went and got tested for sleep ATNA because
- 9:27Speaker 2: of my wife, and now I'm going to get a SEAPAP.
- 9:29Speaker 2: I didn't go because I cared. I put that. I
- 9:31Speaker 2: thought about that when I was twenty. I was like,
- 9:32Speaker 2: I probably should do that. At some point. I'm from
- 9:34Speaker 2: the prepases of forty, prepace of forty whatever. I'm almost there,
- 9:39Speaker 2: God damn it. And as I wear a Catholic shirt
- 9:42Speaker 2: said that the Lord's name in vain.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I Forty's played some some mind games with me.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Turning forty this year and it was I was like,
- 9:53Speaker 3: all right, this is this is when I got to
- 9:54Speaker 3: start taking better care of myself.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I guess.
- 9:57Speaker 3: So I went to the doctor's knock on wood numbers
- 9:59Speaker 3: and everything were good. Started taking vitamins, started exercising every
- 10:03Speaker 3: single day, just little stuff because I'm like, you know
- 10:06Speaker 3: what forty is, forty it's weird to think about. But
- 10:09Speaker 3: all of my buddies that are, you know, forty three,
- 10:12Speaker 3: forty four or forty five, they are like, dude, start now,
- 10:15Speaker 3: because I'm telling you right now like it. I'm noticing
- 10:18Speaker 3: it has gone downhill a lot quicker than the thirties,
- 10:22Speaker 3: you know, and so I'm like, oh shit. So I'm like,
- 10:24Speaker 3: all right, here we go.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Yep.
- 10:26Speaker 3: But I agree with what you said. Yeah, I mean
- 10:28Speaker 3: a lot of times us men are stubborn and we
- 10:30Speaker 3: say that, but there's a lot of stubborn women out
- 10:33Speaker 3: there that are kind of the same ways that put
- 10:34Speaker 3: off this test, put off this appointment. It's not just
- 10:37Speaker 3: us dudes. It's a person thing because nobody, I think
- 10:39Speaker 3: we all kind of just don't want to, at least
- 10:42Speaker 3: me like not anymore. But it's always that like fear
- 10:46Speaker 3: of what are they going to find? Because i mean,
- 10:48Speaker 3: let's be honest, I feel like a doctor or a dentist,
- 10:50Speaker 3: they're not kind of like a health inspector. They're not
- 10:53Speaker 3: doing their job unless they find something wrong with you
- 10:54Speaker 3: and make some money off you.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's it's funny. What I remember my
- 11:00Speaker 2: grandma saying was this was, Yeah, you're gonna go to
- 11:02Speaker 2: the doctor, they're gonna tell you what's wrong, and then
- 11:04Speaker 2: they're gonna find out something else, and then there's gonna
- 11:06Speaker 2: be something else and something else. I mean that's the scary.
- 11:09Speaker 2: The scary part is that you know they're going to
- 11:11Speaker 2: find something that's going to be tied into this. And
- 11:13Speaker 2: oh yeah, you have this and that and this. I mean,
- 11:16Speaker 2: but not facing it doesn't solve it, right, but living
- 11:19Speaker 2: in But but to listen to my grandmother's point of
- 11:23Speaker 2: when we same woman, when we would get tornado warnings,
- 11:27Speaker 2: she would never leave her seat in front of the TV.
- 11:30Speaker 2: If it's gonna take me, it's gonna take me, she said,
- 11:33Speaker 2: So to that point, like, I'm going to live my
- 11:34Speaker 2: life the way I want to live my life. And
- 11:37Speaker 2: it's gonna it's gonna happen the way it's gonna happen.
- 11:39Speaker 2: There's nothing I can really control about it. And so
- 11:41Speaker 2: and being oblivious and being not aware of what's going
- 11:45Speaker 2: to happen to me because I didn't go to the doctor,
- 11:48Speaker 2: I get to at least experience life with without that worry. Right, yeah, ten, twelve, fifteen,
- 11:56Speaker 2: good years of not having to worry. And then uh oh, slow,
- 11:58Speaker 2: quick decline into the.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Right where I think it's good in my how I
- 12:04Speaker 3: tell my brain that I want to get there just
- 12:06Speaker 3: in case, you know, there's something major like cancer or
- 12:09Speaker 3: something scary like that. Early detection gives you a good
- 12:12Speaker 3: chance to beat it. That's why I started kind of
- 12:14Speaker 3: doing the blood work and all that good stuff is,
- 12:17Speaker 3: you know, just the nasty sea word, and there seems
- 12:19Speaker 3: to be a lot more of it, whether diagnostic and
- 12:23Speaker 3: stuff is a lot better than it used to be.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Or maybe it's the food and the stuff that we eat.
- 12:29Speaker 3: I'm not a doctor or a science style dude, but
- 12:33Speaker 3: talking to some older people, even with my grandma who
- 12:35Speaker 3: just turned ninety, I was like, Graham, did you have
- 12:38Speaker 3: a whole bunch of people when you were younger, or
- 12:40Speaker 3: a whole bunch of people that you know right now
- 12:42Speaker 3: that ended up having cancer? Nope? I mean she was well,
- 12:47Speaker 3: she was like, wow, lung cancer and you know, liver
- 12:51Speaker 3: cancer and stuff like that from really abusing your body.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Because let's be honest, they went through everybody thought cigarettes
- 12:56Speaker 3: were good for you phase. That was a rough one.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's not good.
- 13:04Speaker 3: No, no boy no, as they say, but this is
- 13:10Speaker 3: a weird brain train. But I was reading something and
- 13:14Speaker 3: it was about frozen pizza and how frozen pizza sales
- 13:20Speaker 3: are a recession indicator. Did you see that article.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Too, No, that's awesome, Yeah it was.
- 13:27Speaker 3: It was on food and wine. I don't. I just
- 13:29Speaker 3: love food and wine, which they don't talk about wine
- 13:32Speaker 3: a lot. But they were saying that frozen pizza sales
- 13:34Speaker 3: have surged since the pandemic, rising to guess how many
- 13:39Speaker 3: billions of dollars just in twenty twenty four.
- 13:45Speaker 2: It's Rosen twenty oh two, two billion.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Says, rising to seven billion in twenty twenty four. You
- 13:52Speaker 3: have some, obviously consumers. They think it's convenient, cost effective meals.
- 13:58Speaker 3: But apparently economic uncertainty and rising prices are driving continued growth.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Experts are predicting six point six percent increase in sales
- 14:07Speaker 3: because more people are choosing frozen pizzas over takeout. We
- 14:11Speaker 3: should have came up with our own goddamn frozen pizza.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Somehow, dude, frozen pizzas are a winner. I'm going to
- 14:17Speaker 2: tell you something. I'm gonna give you. Give you on
- 14:18Speaker 2: a little secret, hit me with it. Here's here's the secret,
- 14:23Speaker 2: which is not really that secret at all. Walmart brand
- 14:27Speaker 2: frozen pizza, cheese in the crust. The kids love it.
- 14:32Speaker 3: It's good cold, like the stuff crust here or whatever.
- 14:35Speaker 2: That crust frozen Walmart pizza is like it's worth the whatever.
- 14:39Speaker 2: It don't what we pay for it. My wife does
- 14:41Speaker 2: a shopping could be seven dollars, doesn't matter what it is,
- 14:44Speaker 2: it's worth it. It's amazing.
- 14:45Speaker 3: I'm gonna tell you, guys, have the Aldi near you or.
- 14:48Speaker 2: No, we don't have an Aldie near us, but yes, if.
- 14:51Speaker 3: You had an Aldi, I'm telling you what, and they
- 14:54Speaker 3: put it in. There's some big brains behind all the
- 14:56Speaker 3: I'm telling you not only that I'm an Aldi shop
- 14:59Speaker 3: or I'm convert in a little bit is uh? Is
- 15:02Speaker 3: it a little bit weird that you do need a
- 15:03Speaker 3: quarter for your cart? Yeah, but you figure it out,
- 15:06Speaker 3: all right. But as soon as you walk in, don't
- 15:09Speaker 3: they have frozen pizzas right to your left. They strategically
- 15:12Speaker 3: moved the coolers to have these in every single alday
- 15:16Speaker 3: because they're seeing the numbers and stuff like that. You
- 15:19Speaker 3: can get a I'm gonna say it's at least a
- 15:21Speaker 3: sixteen inch pizza, all right, cheese only for like five
- 15:26Speaker 3: dollars and like sixty cents, and I'm telling you what,
- 15:29Speaker 3: it is phenomenal. And then right next to that, they
- 15:32Speaker 3: got you know, your papperoni for a like a quarter
- 15:34Speaker 3: more meat lover supreme. Then they got these cal zones
- 15:38Speaker 3: that are buffalo chicken, Philly cheese, steak in three or
- 15:41Speaker 3: four cheese or something like that for two dollars and
- 15:43Speaker 3: seventy five cents.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I like, how you got closer and quieter and then
- 15:47Speaker 2: they got these kelsona.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Right, Well, I didn't. I didn't want everybody to know
- 15:50Speaker 3: in my area because I'm gonna be pissed off and
- 15:52Speaker 3: they are frigging pheno. Like my uncle shout out, Uncle Phil.
- 15:55Speaker 3: He told me, he goes telling you all the frozen
- 15:57Speaker 3: pizza is probably just as good, if not better, than
- 15:59Speaker 3: some of the pizzas around here. And I was like,
- 16:02Speaker 3: all right, all right, it's good. I highly recommend no
- 16:07Speaker 3: one else is a weird one. What's a pizza Hut?
- 16:10Speaker 3: I know Pizza Hut gets a lot of shit, all right,
- 16:13Speaker 3: And this is why, this is why I why I'm
- 16:17Speaker 3: going to bat for pizza Hut. Right here, we're at
- 16:19Speaker 3: that dancer title starving, all right. I didn't get any food.
- 16:23Speaker 3: It's like eight o'clock right now. We've been sitting in
- 16:25Speaker 3: this auditorium for like two hours watching this dance. I'm starving.
- 16:29Speaker 3: I'm like, what are we gonna eat? And I'm thinking
- 16:31Speaker 3: I'm thinking. I'm like, shit, I always want pizza. Open
- 16:34Speaker 3: the pizza hut, app they got a deal. I got
- 16:37Speaker 3: a tavern pizza because I don't know, I just was
- 16:40Speaker 3: reading about tavern pizzas because I was thinking about if
- 16:43Speaker 3: I had money. There's a building in the small town
- 16:46Speaker 3: where I'm at that doesn't really have a pizza shop.
- 16:48Speaker 3: I'm like, man, what if we bought that tavern style
- 16:51Speaker 3: pizza that's super cheap and just crush out pretty much
- 16:54Speaker 3: take out pizzas, You'd make a killing, all right? So
- 16:57Speaker 3: I got the tavern pizza sixteen boneless wings. This was
- 17:01Speaker 3: the deal in two orders of French fries or something
- 17:04Speaker 3: like that, and I think it was under thirty bucks.
- 17:07Speaker 3: And guess how long it took to get done. Fifteen minutes.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Oh my god, put the order in boom, all of
- 17:16Speaker 3: that food done. And I got there sixteen minutes and
- 17:19Speaker 3: was already done. I'm like, you can't out pizza the
- 17:22Speaker 3: hut and the head aspect and French frying in the
- 17:26Speaker 3: boneless wings. The head that's like hot the hell? Was
- 17:28Speaker 3: it hot?
- 17:29Speaker 1: Garlic?
- 17:30Speaker 3: Spicy garlic? I'm like, oh shit, didn't burn my ass
- 17:33Speaker 3: coming out the next day, But it was a pretty
- 17:35Speaker 3: good taste and sauce.
- 17:37Speaker 2: You know what I think about pizza pizza places, not
- 17:40Speaker 2: the local spots, the national brands and chains that you
- 17:44Speaker 2: find in a place mice Town or bigger, which is
- 17:47Speaker 2: twenty five thousand or larger. And I think to myself,
- 17:51Speaker 2: you got Pizza Hut, you got Domino's, you got Little Caesars.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Would you include Papa John's in there? Or because I
- 17:58Speaker 2: don't know Papa John's is where you're at or whatever.
- 18:00Speaker 3: So although so far I have Pizza Hut, I don't
- 18:04Speaker 3: have you.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Have you ever heard of Godfathers?
- 18:07Speaker 3: I've heard of it, never had don't have one near me.
- 18:09Speaker 2: That started in Omaha too, But anyway, that doesn't necessarily matter.
- 18:12Speaker 2: But Nebraskans like to remember what came from here?
- 18:15Speaker 3: Kool Aid, Rubens, and that was mid It was Kansas, right,
- 18:19Speaker 3: I mean, obviously it's not Nebraska, but Kansas is way
- 18:22Speaker 3: closer to you than me.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Yeah, who started that pizza? Really believe? But anyway, of those,
- 18:29Speaker 2: like everybody has hate or a certain you know, push
- 18:33Speaker 2: towards one, you know, based on whatever your your your
- 18:36Speaker 2: taste is, I will say this hot as in pizza,
- 18:41Speaker 2: I would go pizza hut. Little Caesar's Dominoes hasn't always
- 18:46Speaker 2: been that way. I used to love Dominoes more. Domino
- 18:48Speaker 2: stepped their game up about fifteen ten, fifteen years ago,
- 18:51Speaker 2: and then they've kind of taken a step back recently.
- 18:53Speaker 2: I think.
- 18:53Speaker 3: I feel once they focused on the sweet treats and
- 18:56Speaker 3: other things, I think it kind of took away.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Yeah, but that said, there is no real, in my mind,
- 19:04Speaker 2: terrible pizza chain out there, other than to say Little
- 19:07Speaker 2: Caesar's Cold is terrible pizza. I can eat Papa John's
- 19:11Speaker 2: or any of the other pizzas cold and they're fine.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Little Caesars is like literally eating cardboard between a cardboard
- 19:19Speaker 2: and hardened sponge. It's for us.
- 19:20Speaker 3: And then you start comparing like this, all right, well,
- 19:23Speaker 3: do I want to go and spend X amount on
- 19:25Speaker 3: Little Caesars or Dominoes or something like that, or maybe
- 19:27Speaker 3: just go and get two or three sixteen inch pizzas
- 19:30Speaker 3: from an All Deer a chain like that. I don't
- 19:32Speaker 3: know the price point there. Even the grocery store near
- 19:35Speaker 3: us on which I think we talked about before, you
- 19:36Speaker 3: guys have out there is like price chopper. Even they
- 19:40Speaker 3: have taken bakes that are like seven bucks, and I'm like,
- 19:43Speaker 3: this shit's pretty good.
- 19:46Speaker 2: So I mean, people are definitely looking, you know, to
- 19:50Speaker 2: find alternatives because it is expensive to eat out anymore.
- 19:54Speaker 2: I mean, we went to I went to Wendy's today.
- 19:58Speaker 2: They had a two for seven deal on the so
- 20:00Speaker 2: I got that two sandwiches for seven bucks, and then
- 20:04Speaker 2: my wife got a salad, and then I got a
- 20:08Speaker 2: ten piece nuggies for my kids to split. What else?
- 20:12Speaker 2: Did I get a large soda? All of that together,
- 20:16Speaker 2: I think was like thirty two dollars, and like I
- 20:20Speaker 2: had a deal for two for seven, and the salad
- 20:23Speaker 2: was like the biggest thing on there was like eight
- 20:25Speaker 2: fifty nine dollars.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Isn't it said that the healthiest thing is the most expensive.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's pretty big. But yeah, you know, but
- 20:31Speaker 2: but that said, I could have gotten all of that
- 20:33Speaker 2: stuff at the store pre made, not even had to
- 20:36Speaker 2: make it myself, and probably spent less than that for sure,
- 20:40Speaker 2: and then you know, had to go home and bake
- 20:43Speaker 2: it maybe, but you know, still pre made, could have
- 20:45Speaker 2: made it myself for a cheaper. People are looking at
- 20:47Speaker 2: that and saying, how can I do that more? Now?
- 20:51Speaker 2: You can? We've talked about this before. Man, These these
- 20:54Speaker 2: numbers that are coming from the federal government don't matter.
- 20:56Speaker 2: I don't care, blue, red, yellow, doesn't matter what where
- 20:59Speaker 2: you are in the political spectrum. You know, when it
- 21:03Speaker 2: comes to inflation numbers and unemployment numbers and GDP numbers,
- 21:08Speaker 2: that doesn't affect you were me on our dinner table.
- 21:09Speaker 2: What affects you and me and our dinner tables the
- 21:12Speaker 2: price of beef, the price of corn, the price of eggs,
- 21:15Speaker 2: the price of milk, you know, the price of Hey,
- 21:18Speaker 2: wait a minute, my favorite beer just went up set
- 21:21Speaker 2: of a dollar. You know, that's the kind of stuff
- 21:24Speaker 2: that affects us and that we care about, and that
- 21:26Speaker 2: really moves the needles, so to speak.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Yeah, And when's the last time that you've eaten at
- 21:33Speaker 3: a dairy queen? I mean within the last little bit
- 21:36Speaker 3: or so, a two months ago, so maybe. And the
- 21:40Speaker 3: reason I'm asking and what have my brain it's a
- 21:42Speaker 3: weird brain training. I wish you've been was here because
- 21:44Speaker 3: he's an ex employee of the dairy queen. When you
- 21:47Speaker 3: go in there, it's consistent most of the time, right,
- 21:49Speaker 3: doesn't matter almost locational location and are they typically on
- 21:53Speaker 3: the slower side where you are like in terms of
- 21:57Speaker 3: you order getting your food out compared to obviously definitely yes. Okay,
- 22:02Speaker 3: So we were out and about with sports. We're in
- 22:05Speaker 3: a town that has a dairy queen. So I'm like, oh,
- 22:07Speaker 3: a special treat. I'm gonna feel like a good dad.
- 22:09Speaker 3: I'm gonna get them some dairy queen. All right. Typically,
- 22:14Speaker 3: if you're gonna go on a bus at first sports team,
- 22:17Speaker 3: which we weren't, you don't stop at a dairy queen, right,
- 22:20Speaker 3: I mean, you got a bus full of athletes. You're
- 22:22Speaker 3: not thinking I'm gonna go to dairy queen and we're
- 22:24Speaker 3: gonna have a bus there. They're gonna crush it out
- 22:26Speaker 3: like a McDonald's or something and get all the food.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Right.
- 22:30Speaker 3: So we go there and I'm like, all right, cool,
- 22:32Speaker 3: got the app no real good deals. You can scan
- 22:34Speaker 3: the barcode, get the reward points, so let them. They
- 22:37Speaker 3: all order, you know, and of course wife gets a
- 22:40Speaker 3: two for five I think, say chicken nuggets and fries
- 22:44Speaker 3: or something like that. I get the two for five
- 22:46Speaker 3: burger and chicken strips or something. One kid gets a
- 22:51Speaker 3: chicken box, so the one kid could have the fries whatever.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Simple order fairly cheap, we get the order. It is
- 22:57Speaker 3: completely screwed up. There is two people to drive through,
- 23:01Speaker 3: one other person that is waiting for their food. Shit happens.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Not super mad about it, don't. I go up there
- 23:07Speaker 3: and I'm chatting with the one guy who was in
- 23:09Speaker 3: there before. He was waiting twenty minutes for two chicken boxes.
- 23:13Speaker 3: So I'm like, and he's not mad. You know, he
- 23:14Speaker 3: got a blizzard while he was waiting. Him and his
- 23:16Speaker 3: kid ate the blizzard. Waited, waited, finally got the food.
- 23:19Speaker 3: We waited about fifteen minutes, got our food. Noticed it's wrong.
- 23:23Speaker 3: As I go to go up there to tell them, hey,
- 23:26Speaker 3: we didn't get these two items. Doesn't a friggin bus
- 23:30Speaker 3: full of athletes come into the dairy queen And I'm like,
- 23:37Speaker 3: I Am not going to go up there and stand
- 23:39Speaker 3: there for forty five minutes to an hour, no waiting
- 23:43Speaker 3: for you know, five dollars worth of food. So I'm
- 23:45Speaker 3: sitting there. I'm telling you what, it was the quickest
- 23:49Speaker 3: I've ever seen these people. They got the entire bus,
- 23:53Speaker 3: ordered food in out of there probably within twenty minutes.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Twenty five minutes. I'm like, you couldn't make those two
- 24:00Speaker 3: damn chicken boxes. A bus rolls in and all of
- 24:02Speaker 3: a sudden, you're like, it's go time. So I went
- 24:05Speaker 3: up there. I was like, I felt bad because I
- 24:06Speaker 3: was like, listen, guys, we're not gonna have time to
- 24:09Speaker 3: get the frigging blizzards. They got this entire school bus.
- 24:12Speaker 3: They get through it. I'm like, holy shit, okay. And
- 24:15Speaker 3: it was before the youngest even finished eating. I'm like, cool,
- 24:17Speaker 3: we'll order him from the app. So I go up.
- 24:20Speaker 3: You gotta check in. Hey, I got the blizzards, this
- 24:21Speaker 3: and that. So I'm chatting with this high school kid
- 24:23Speaker 3: with a mullet just he's having He was having the
- 24:26Speaker 3: time of his life making blizzards. And that's not sarcasm.
- 24:28Speaker 3: He was dude. I'm like, dude, you are crushing. He's like, yeah, dude,
- 24:31Speaker 3: this is what we do, buddy, he's and I'm like, ah.
- 24:35Speaker 3: I was like, dude, you got to learn how to
- 24:36Speaker 3: juggle them. Then they're upside down. You're showing me it's
- 24:38Speaker 3: a dinner and a show. He's like, oh shit, I'm
- 24:41Speaker 3: gonna learn that for you. Man. You come back in
- 24:42Speaker 3: a month. And I was like, all right, you remember me.
- 24:45Speaker 3: He goes, oh, the hell, am I gonna remember it?
- 24:46Speaker 3: Of course I'm remember the guy's got a seven foot beard.
- 24:48Speaker 3: You remember me. I'm like, yeah, did the dude with
- 24:51Speaker 3: the mullet? He's like yeah, and he's just I was like, dude, like, seriously,
- 24:54Speaker 3: you guys are And I told him, how did you
- 24:56Speaker 3: get through the food all the time. I'm like, when
- 24:58Speaker 3: we gotta go, we can go, you know. He's like, honestly,
- 25:02Speaker 3: we're closing. My ship's done, like forty five minutes. I
- 25:04Speaker 3: want to get the hell out of here. Like, oh,
- 25:07Speaker 3: fair enough, I go, why don't you vision every day,
- 25:10Speaker 3: every moment that your shift's forty five minutes away? He goes,
- 25:12Speaker 3: that'd make for a long ass day. Man Like, oh shit,
- 25:16Speaker 3: fair enough.
- 25:18Speaker 2: He ain't lying, he ain't lying.
- 25:20Speaker 3: But I was like, man, that's that's a good attitude
- 25:22Speaker 3: to have. That dude was loving. And then I pictured
- 25:24Speaker 3: a young Uban working dairy queen, just having the time
- 25:29Speaker 3: of his.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Life, getting blitzed behind the counter with the you know,
- 25:33Speaker 2: the blizzards is what we're talking about. Yep, probably that
- 25:36Speaker 2: green one. What's that with a mint? Yeah? Mint?
- 25:39Speaker 3: You mess with men? Ice cream?
- 25:41Speaker 2: Love it. It's got to be. It's gotta be good
- 25:43Speaker 2: Men's ice cream. Man. Now I'm gonna go get some
- 25:45Speaker 2: ice cream to night. God damn it.
- 25:47Speaker 3: I know I've been trying to eat better, but the
- 25:48Speaker 3: youngest just had a birthday. So we have ice cream,
- 25:50Speaker 3: we have cake, and I'm just like, and there's a
- 25:54Speaker 3: there's a local shop up here called Stuart's and they
- 25:57Speaker 3: do half gallon. They'd pick three flavors a week. It
- 26:01Speaker 3: was always like two bucks and three bucks. Now it's
- 26:03Speaker 3: four dollars and nineteen cents for a half gallon. This
- 26:06Speaker 3: shit's like best in the state award winning ice cream,
- 26:09Speaker 3: my go to flavor if I could only pick one,
- 26:12Speaker 3: chocolate chip cookie dough. And there's this fantastic and it's
- 26:14Speaker 3: on sale this week. I'm like, don't try buy Stewarts,
- 26:18Speaker 3: don't try buy his Stewart's, don't dry buy a Stewart's.
- 26:22Speaker 3: But man, yeah, ice cream is delicious, especially on an
- 26:25Speaker 3: eighty degree day, you know what I mean. And if
- 26:28Speaker 3: I'm not sitting there enjoying a couple of beers, what's
- 26:30Speaker 3: the harm I having a little bowl of ice cream?
- 26:32Speaker 3: You know?
- 26:32Speaker 2: Do you know what I really want right now? I want?
- 26:38Speaker 3: Oh, I'm excited for this I want.
- 26:39Speaker 2: A big ice cold mug with three scoops of New
- 26:45Speaker 2: York style vanilla ice cream. And I want a and
- 26:50Speaker 2: w No, I want barks, No, I want mug. I
- 26:56Speaker 2: want mug.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Oh, I see what you're doing here?
- 26:59Speaker 2: I want mug here. Wow, they're all good, who cares?
- 27:04Speaker 2: But I haven't had a float in the years, dude,
- 27:08Speaker 2: And it just sounds sofad right now.
- 27:09Speaker 3: I never had one. But I don't drink soda or
- 27:11Speaker 3: root beer. But I thought you were.
- 27:12Speaker 2: I was like, you have to like beer to like it,
- 27:14Speaker 2: so it's not gonna Yeah, you don't like it. It's
- 27:17Speaker 2: ruining ice cream basically what it's doing.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Let me throw this out here. It's probably been done before,
- 27:22Speaker 3: but it's a little bit weird. What about three scoops
- 27:24Speaker 3: of mint ice cream with a root beer?
- 27:27Speaker 2: No? How do you?
- 27:29Speaker 3: How do you know? Start with one scoop and a swig?
- 27:31Speaker 3: Maybe a bite and a swig. Who knows. Maybe it's
- 27:34Speaker 3: one of those weird things that maybe I can't do
- 27:37Speaker 3: mint ice cream. I will do like an Altoid mint.
- 27:42Speaker 3: I'll do the little classic mints, the circles with the
- 27:45Speaker 3: red and the white. But you anything else mint flavored
- 27:48Speaker 3: that's a hard pass for me.
- 27:49Speaker 2: First of all, two things I might not get rip beer.
- 27:53Speaker 2: I might get this other soda that I'm thinking about.
- 27:56Speaker 2: And this soda I think would work well with mint
- 27:59Speaker 2: chocolate chip ice cream. How about Doctor Pepper? Oh, like,
- 28:05Speaker 2: it's got this cherry chocolate thing to it, that's got
- 28:08Speaker 2: a bunch of different flavors in it, but mix with mint.
- 28:12Speaker 2: I think it could work. I don't know. I'm not
- 28:14Speaker 2: saying it's going to I'm just saying I want to
- 28:15Speaker 2: try it. Now.
- 28:16Speaker 3: Interesting, you know what we gotta do. We gotta let's
- 28:19Speaker 3: ask our Let's ask our correspond and our research correspondent
- 28:23Speaker 3: real quick. What would the best soda be to make
- 28:27Speaker 3: a float?
- 28:28Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 28:30Speaker 3: With mint? Because if this is a hit, I live
- 28:33Speaker 3: in a house full of mint ice cream lovers, and
- 28:35Speaker 3: I'm the hater. This says a chocolate I don't know.
- 28:40Speaker 3: I didn't best ice cream to mix with? Oh what
- 28:42Speaker 3: did It's it? I put best soda and it came
- 28:44Speaker 3: out with best ice cream. This is saying it's not listening. Uh,
- 28:51Speaker 3: it says best soda for mint ice cream? Float, root beer,
- 28:56Speaker 3: Coca cola, ginger ale, Right, a chocolate soda or an
- 29:02Speaker 3: orange soda.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Orange would work, cream soda would work. I don't know.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Cream soda would work. I don't think work.
- 29:10Speaker 3: I don't know about a ginger ale.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know about ginger ale either.
- 29:14Speaker 3: It's going to add a little spice in a refreshing contrast.
- 29:19Speaker 3: I'm not buying it, no.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Distinct. Yeah, I guess. I don't know.
- 29:24Speaker 3: I've never had it, but I think maybe the orange
- 29:26Speaker 3: in the mint might pop right. It'd be like a
- 29:29Speaker 3: creamsicle style float with a minty twist.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 29:35Speaker 3: I'm trying none of them, but so listen. I threw
- 29:42Speaker 3: this idea out there, and uh, I don't think you
- 29:45Speaker 3: saw it yet, so maybe it's going to be a
- 29:47Speaker 3: surprise to you. And it's definitely gonna be a surprised
- 29:48Speaker 3: with the listeners. I thought it'd be a cool idea
- 29:51Speaker 3: to potentially as we're out and about, maybe you're at
- 29:55Speaker 3: a friend's house, maybe you're at a co worker's house,
- 29:57Speaker 3: maybe you're somewhere and snap a picture of their freid
- 30:00Speaker 3: or say, hey, send me a picture of your fridge
- 30:03Speaker 3: right now, and then the boys will throw up the picture. Obviously,
- 30:06Speaker 3: if you're only listening, that's your loss will do our
- 30:08Speaker 3: best to describe it. We kind of break it down,
- 30:10Speaker 3: maybe say hey, this is what we see, and this
- 30:11Speaker 3: is disgusting, this is cool, this is way too organize,
- 30:14Speaker 3: this is way too We'll break it down and maybe
- 30:16Speaker 3: we'll even give them like a little idea what they
- 30:18Speaker 3: can use in the fridge. So I'm looking around and
- 30:20Speaker 3: I'm like, well, I don't really go to too many
- 30:22Speaker 3: people's houses right now because all I do is stuff
- 30:25Speaker 3: for the kids, So don't I find the most amazing
- 30:28Speaker 3: subreddit in the entire planet for this segment that I
- 30:32Speaker 3: think we can go ahead and use for a little bit.
- 30:34Speaker 3: I think we could use this right And it's called
- 30:37Speaker 3: fridge Detective, and people post pictures of their fridge and
- 30:41Speaker 3: then you try to guess who or what they are
- 30:45Speaker 3: apparently based on it. And I'm like, you know what,
- 30:47Speaker 3: until we start getting some maybe some viewers sending some
- 30:50Speaker 3: pictures of Matta beard laws dot com or on the Instagram,
- 30:52Speaker 3: or we get out and about and starting taking some pictures,
- 30:55Speaker 3: We'll just fire up some random ones. And people are
- 30:57Speaker 3: posting on fridge detectives on the subreddit. So I saw
- 31:01Speaker 3: this one and I said, you know what this looks like?
- 31:04Speaker 3: Almost like any average house that I'm picturing. It almost
- 31:08Speaker 3: looks exactly like my little brother's cabinets, my little brother's
- 31:12Speaker 3: fridge and shit that he'd have in it. And it
- 31:15Speaker 3: looks nothing like how my fridge is. So and uh,
- 31:20Speaker 3: check this fridge out. Standard fridge right, which I have
- 31:26Speaker 3: a fridge from like probably the eighties or nineties where
- 31:29Speaker 3: it's just one unit on the bottom and then the
- 31:31Speaker 3: freezer on top. Ohld frigid air. But I'm like, this is, uh,
- 31:36Speaker 3: what's the first thing that catches your eyes?
- 31:41Speaker 2: Man? Lime juice up top, mm hmm, several types of
- 31:46Speaker 2: butter on the left side. I mean, first thing to
- 31:50Speaker 2: catch my eyes. It's gotta tell you. It's pretty well organized,
- 31:58Speaker 2: very clean.
- 31:59Speaker 3: I mean, you got the artichoke carts and so this
- 32:01Speaker 3: is what caught my eye. I'm like, what is this
- 32:02Speaker 3: stuff on here? You got artichoke?
- 32:03Speaker 2: Oh my god, you've got the chili spice. I've got
- 32:07Speaker 2: a bottle upstairs?
- 32:08Speaker 3: This which one is this the one with the picture
- 32:10Speaker 3: to face this guy?
- 32:11Speaker 2: I can't remember how how you say that? The name
- 32:13Speaker 2: it's literally from China. You can buy it on Amazon.
- 32:15Speaker 2: It's good stuff.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 32:16Speaker 2: So they had this it's chili chili paste.
- 32:19Speaker 3: And then I was like, all right, they got themselves
- 32:21Speaker 3: some butter. I don't know why this won't let me go?
- 32:23Speaker 3: There we go. They got some nice, big Land of
- 32:25Speaker 3: Lakes butter, you thought. And then I was like, oh,
- 32:27Speaker 3: they have three different kinds of butter. I thought this
- 32:30Speaker 3: was like an open jar of marinara sauce. Not that
- 32:32Speaker 3: I'm judging, but I recently found out that apparently it's
- 32:34Speaker 3: only good for like a couple days marinero or pickled onions?
- 32:40Speaker 2: Is that what that is?
- 32:41Speaker 3: That's what it looks, a red something I can't zoom
- 32:44Speaker 3: in anymore.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Yeah, pickled red onions or red it's a weird.
- 32:48Speaker 3: It's a weird combo to put with the butter, right,
- 32:51Speaker 3: not judging, but judging, I guess. And then you're I
- 32:53Speaker 3: think everybody's got some tariaki sauce, and what are these?
- 32:56Speaker 3: Some dra dice haolopenos maybe could be. Then I was like,
- 33:00Speaker 3: what is this?
- 33:03Speaker 2: This is tahini Middle Middle Eastern food. It's mixed into
- 33:06Speaker 2: a lot of you know, like I don't know, can't
- 33:09Speaker 2: remember if you put it in hummess or not hummess,
- 33:11Speaker 2: but it's mixed with some stuff like uh tazee sauce
- 33:15Speaker 2: and ship like that. I can't. I don't know. It's
- 33:17Speaker 2: in Middle Eastern food. Okay, what do I know. I'm
- 33:18Speaker 2: a fat white guy.
- 33:21Speaker 3: You know how pissed i'd be because that looks like mayonnaise.
- 33:25Speaker 3: If I went to make it tuna fish sandwich or
- 33:27Speaker 3: a sandwich and put some tahini in there, I don't
- 33:30Speaker 3: know what it tastes like, but I have to imagine
- 33:32Speaker 3: not like mayonnaise. Doesn't it look like a mayonnaise bottle?
- 33:34Speaker 2: It does? It? Definitely tany, definitely does I don't.
- 33:37Speaker 3: I don't like that very much. But then we're going here.
- 33:39Speaker 3: We got the bottom shelf, a little crisper standard, right,
- 33:43Speaker 3: you got you got some deli meat, and this is
- 33:45Speaker 3: the this is how we roll with the not from
- 33:47Speaker 3: the deli, but deli meat. And then I thought this
- 33:50Speaker 3: was like this. They just got like packets leftover stuff
- 33:53Speaker 3: maybe Chick fil a, Wendy's, all these condiment packets in
- 33:57Speaker 3: the bottom right.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Yeah, that's even a little too organized for me. Before
- 34:02Speaker 2: we go any further, I would like to point out
- 34:04Speaker 2: that tahini sauce creamy, nutty flavor, versatile and ingredient in
- 34:07Speaker 2: many dishes, sauce for flaffel, dipping for salad, vegetables at
- 34:11Speaker 2: base for hummus. I did not know that.
- 34:13Speaker 3: I was, Oh, so, you're right interesting, the white guy.
- 34:19Speaker 3: It's it's like you're the food daddy. Then above the crisper,
- 34:23Speaker 3: we got some more veggies. The bread in the fridge,
- 34:26Speaker 3: that's what I was. You you you you a bread
- 34:29Speaker 3: in the fridge kind of guy.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Nony, Yes, when I was a kid. You know why,
- 34:33Speaker 2: because roaches didn't get in the fridge.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Fair Yeah, either do ants right right? Just maybe uncles.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Uh.
- 34:45Speaker 3: Then we got uh, we just got your your ear
- 34:47Speaker 3: coffee creamers with the mustard. Interesting. And then we got.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Oh, no, straight to jail, Crystal hot sauce. Come on,
- 34:55Speaker 2: that ship's so low end.
- 34:57Speaker 3: I never had it, never seen it, But shout out
- 34:59Speaker 3: to them Evan Hine's name brand ketchup because everything else,
- 35:03Speaker 3: in my opinion, sucks.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I'm not a I'm not a store brand, not store brand.
- 35:09Speaker 2: I'm not a hot sauce you could buy at your
- 35:11Speaker 2: local grocery store kind of guy. You know, when it
- 35:14Speaker 2: comes to being a pinky in the air, hot sauce
- 35:16Speaker 2: is probably one of the only things that I am
- 35:18Speaker 2: so and so. Uh, if you're gonna do a brand,
- 35:22Speaker 2: you can find Chilula Valentina's, you know something that's better.
- 35:26Speaker 3: But no, damn, I'm that sounds like it was made
- 35:29Speaker 3: and comes from somewhere that's hot. Yeah, it makes sense.
- 35:34Speaker 3: And then uh, then we got we got some leftovers,
- 35:36Speaker 3: maybe some penny pasta or something. I'm not really sure
- 35:38Speaker 3: what that is. I don't think that looks like some
- 35:42Speaker 3: fancy ship. You got some store bought brown eggs, all right,
- 35:45Speaker 3: all right, some more cream? What is this ship?
- 35:47Speaker 2: Though?
- 35:48Speaker 3: You get this green paste thing and a tupperware dish
- 35:51Speaker 3: and half bottles of chew spit.
- 35:54Speaker 2: It looks like the hell is this kombucha? I don't know, dude. Yeah,
- 36:00Speaker 2: it's like somebody who may have their own, you know,
- 36:02Speaker 2: pocket compost.
- 36:03Speaker 3: Maybe a lot of healthy stuff. I have to imagine
- 36:06Speaker 3: this is.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Fresco over there, Dude. You don't buy Fresca unless you
- 36:09Speaker 2: think you're better than other people.
- 36:11Speaker 3: You got these protein milkshake things that would give you diarrhea.
- 36:15Speaker 3: And then I got confused because we got a in
- 36:17Speaker 3: the top left, you got some seven up Fresca. But
- 36:20Speaker 3: then you got the doctor pepper in the bottom, and
- 36:23Speaker 3: then like the middle, right, why why are we mixing
- 36:25Speaker 3: up the sodas?
- 36:26Speaker 2: Right? Yeah, the die doctor peppers for the poor people,
- 36:29Speaker 2: next to.
- 36:29Speaker 3: The diet doctor pepper. Put that with your mint ice cream,
- 36:33Speaker 3: and we got some veggies. Just I mean, this is
- 36:35Speaker 3: overall this is one way more organized in mine. Two
- 36:40Speaker 3: way more clean than my fridge. Three just a lot
- 36:44Speaker 3: of questions. Like I mean, I wonder if they do
- 36:46Speaker 3: a lot of taco night because the sour cream is
- 36:48Speaker 3: right next to the taco sauce in the middle. It
- 36:50Speaker 3: doesn't even make sense to be there, but it's there.
- 36:54Speaker 3: What do you think this old stuff is in the back?
- 36:56Speaker 3: Apple sauce?
- 36:58Speaker 2: Oh god, that looks like oh I know they are.
- 37:00Speaker 2: That's so jars. Yeah, it could be apple sauce or palmersan.
- 37:04Speaker 3: Okay, let's rank this fridge. What do you think let's
- 37:08Speaker 3: have some fun with Let's rank it on if I remember,
- 37:12Speaker 3: that would be cool. But we'll rank it on cleanliness,
- 37:15Speaker 3: We'll rank it on organizational, We'll rank it on quality
- 37:21Speaker 3: of products and healthiness. I'll never remember, but I'm gonna
- 37:27Speaker 3: try real hard. So first one was organ What would
- 37:30Speaker 3: I say, organizational?
- 37:33Speaker 2: Organizational I would say that's a solid nine out of ten.
- 37:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna go I'm gonna go eight point one.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Yeah, there's definitely some some uh crowding in certain places.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Yeah, and you know, I mean if you want to
- 37:47Speaker 3: if you want a high higher rank for me, you
- 37:49Speaker 3: gotta not have a condiment wedge didn't like I do.
- 37:53Speaker 3: What is that like a homemade mustard or something.
- 37:57Speaker 2: I don't trust. I don't trust those jars with homemades
- 38:00Speaker 2: stuff in them.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah without that for very long anyway? Uh?
- 38:05Speaker 3: I then, uh, cleanliness, it's a clean ass fridge. I
- 38:11Speaker 3: don't see any like stains, spiltness like that. Just looks
- 38:18Speaker 3: like a that looks like a clean ass fridge. But
- 38:20Speaker 3: even you can see a reflection almost in the friggin shelving.
- 38:24Speaker 2: I'll give them that. I'd say that's a solid nine
- 38:26Speaker 2: point three.
- 38:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I got nine point one on the clean I
- 38:29Speaker 3: mean there's just no dirt. Huh. All right? And then, uh,
- 38:34Speaker 3: what what was the was number three? We were gonna
- 38:36Speaker 3: go with the healthiness for something that came out of
- 38:40Speaker 3: my mouth.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Well, that's definitely a healthy fridge, dude. What is in
- 38:44Speaker 2: there that isn't healthy? The butter. But that's gonna be
- 38:48Speaker 2: used in a sphere. I mean, I would say on
- 38:50Speaker 2: a healthy way, that is a good seven point nine.
- 38:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna based solely on what's in my fridge
- 38:59Speaker 3: as well. That's that's an at a point one for me.
- 39:03Speaker 3: And then I don't remember the last one. Yeah, there's
- 39:07Speaker 3: a lot of healthy shit in there.
- 39:10Speaker 2: Okay, So I have to share something with you, and
- 39:15Speaker 2: I'm sorry. I'm gonna take a left turn here. We
- 39:17Speaker 2: could turn back, we could turn back.
- 39:19Speaker 3: No, it's good. No, I think we I think we
- 39:21Speaker 3: got everything out of that fridge.
- 39:25Speaker 2: So we did a video. Remember I told I don't
- 39:27Speaker 2: know if you saw this. You did see it, the
- 39:29Speaker 2: Peeda video we did.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Oh yeah, where you're eating some bacon.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Peta visited our small town and uh protest. There wasn't
- 39:36Speaker 2: much of a protest. They parked a car. It was whatever.
- 39:38Speaker 2: We did a video on it. It went somewhat viral
- 39:43Speaker 2: for our small page. It went locally viral, if there's
- 39:47Speaker 2: such a thing. It went viral in our Try County area.
- 39:50Speaker 2: And I'm joking. But in the meantime we've gotten angry comments.
- 39:54Speaker 2: And so I finally saw one and I responded, and
- 39:56Speaker 2: I would love to read this to you if I could, Yes, please,
- 39:59Speaker 2: Because in the video what I did was I stood
- 40:00Speaker 2: in front of the peda van and I took a
- 40:03Speaker 2: piece of bacon and I go. And you gotta remember
- 40:06Speaker 2: the van or the behind me was they basically had
- 40:08Speaker 2: pigs in chains and cages and stuff like that.
- 40:12Speaker 3: And with at pete, not petea. Yeah, that's good.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Anyway. So this guy responded, he said this to me,
- 40:24Speaker 2: He said, pigs are smarter than you are. Your mom
- 40:27Speaker 2: she should have swallowed, to which I replied, interesting, she'll
- 40:32Speaker 2: have to give your mam a call for pointers, to
- 40:35Speaker 2: which he replied, my mom passed away last year, to
- 40:40Speaker 2: which I am this close to replying did she happen
- 40:45Speaker 2: to leave notes? But I said it publicly, so I
- 40:51Speaker 2: feel better now I don't have to say it. There
- 40:54Speaker 2: you go.
- 40:55Speaker 3: My first brain went some kind of pig clogged artery
- 40:58Speaker 3: joke back it would have been you know what I mean,
- 41:01Speaker 3: And that's on him. How many times have you gotten
- 41:04Speaker 3: into a mama burn mama joke war with somebody you
- 41:08Speaker 3: don't know, or maybe someone you do, and then all
- 41:09Speaker 3: of a sudden, it's like my mom died actually, a
- 41:12Speaker 3: little bit ago, and ninety percent of them are full
- 41:15Speaker 3: of shit, I have to imagine, and they're just doing
- 41:17Speaker 3: it because they lost the mama joke war.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Yep. No, I literally remember using the my mom died
- 41:25Speaker 2: last year when I was in second grade bros. So like.
- 41:30Speaker 3: Yeah, and then next it's just still alive. Yeah, Yeah,
- 41:33Speaker 3: there's that's been played out quite a bit. Mama jokes.
- 41:37Speaker 3: They just don't love you, mom, don't They Just there's
- 41:40Speaker 3: something good about a good mama joke. And I feel
- 41:42Speaker 3: like I feel like kids aren't doing that anymore. I
- 41:44Speaker 3: wonder why.
- 41:48Speaker 2: They definitely say it. Like I was even joking with
- 41:49Speaker 2: my my coworker who's twenty five five somewhere there, she
- 41:56Speaker 2: made a mama joker's like, oh, mama jokes, that's so millennial,
- 41:59Speaker 2: and I was like, like, I wasn't like mad because
- 42:02Speaker 2: she was wrong or wanted to prove wrong. I was
- 42:04Speaker 2: just like, oh my god, I'm old.
- 42:07Speaker 3: You know, like, oh lord, and that's what she said.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Seems like those are gone, and that was a big thing.
- 42:15Speaker 3: And I don't even feel like if I if I
- 42:17Speaker 3: say that, oh my god, you're so old. Yeah, yeah
- 42:20Speaker 3: I am. And that's cool because I just burned your
- 42:22Speaker 3: ass with that's what she said. And if you don't
- 42:23Speaker 3: get it, and you're too goddamn old, and you're clearly
- 42:26Speaker 3: not as cool as I think I used to be. Exactly, man,
- 42:30Speaker 3: I mentioned to backstage real quick weird brain training that
- 42:33Speaker 3: the oldest is going to prom, so a couple of
- 42:36Speaker 3: like buddies and stuff like that. Different schools have different problems,
- 42:39Speaker 3: different weekends, all that stuff. At least here, I'm assuming
- 42:42Speaker 3: it's the same way there. But they were like sharing
- 42:44Speaker 3: pictures of like their kids and their friends, and then
- 42:46Speaker 3: some of the kids are like that I coach and
- 42:47Speaker 3: all that stuff, and these freaking prom pictures are like
- 42:50Speaker 3: wedding photo shoots now, And I'm like, that happened with
- 42:54Speaker 3: just being awkward teenagers, you know what I mean, standing
- 42:58Speaker 3: in front of either your parents van or a frigging
- 43:01Speaker 3: you know, cheap limo you rented at some cheap restaurant
- 43:05Speaker 3: you thought was fancy. Like they're doing full on photo
- 43:08Speaker 3: shoots like it's a friggin wedding. Not that I'm saying
- 43:11Speaker 3: it's a bad thing or something, but I'm just like, man,
- 43:14Speaker 3: part of it is looking back and being like, holy shit,
- 43:16Speaker 3: you look stupid. You look nerdy, you look I don't
- 43:20Speaker 3: I don't understand. I don't think we can make fun
- 43:22Speaker 3: of something that was right. I don't. I don't know.
- 43:25Speaker 3: It's weird.
- 43:26Speaker 2: I first of why, I remember having the thought when
- 43:30Speaker 2: homecoming happened a couple of years ago. I was like,
- 43:33Speaker 2: what parents are sending their children out looking like this?
- 43:36Speaker 2: And then I went back and looked at our homecoming
- 43:39Speaker 2: pictures and I was like, oh, so it didn't just
- 43:42Speaker 2: start with okay, yeah, so it's it's a it's an
- 43:46Speaker 2: I here. Here's the deal is that as adults, we
- 43:50Speaker 2: see it and we're like, no, no, no, no, don't
- 43:52Speaker 2: do it. You know what, you're gonna regret it. You're
- 43:54Speaker 2: gonna regret it, and we're right. But as kids, here's
- 43:59Speaker 2: the one. I'll explain it quick. Story. Was in a
- 44:03Speaker 2: ride with a buddy of mine's parents, and the buddy
- 44:07Speaker 2: of mine's parents had an older sister who went to college,
- 44:09Speaker 2: got her heart broken, was on the phone with her mom,
- 44:13Speaker 2: mom begging her not to spend though credit use the
- 44:15Speaker 2: credit card to buy tickets to go over to Europe
- 44:18Speaker 2: to chase this guy, right whatever. Yeah, she's distraught. Mom
- 44:23Speaker 2: is distraught, daughter's distraught phone call ends. Dad looks over, driving,
- 44:32Speaker 2: looks over and says, I don't know. Why are you
- 44:35Speaker 2: trying to tell her anything? She already knows all the stuff.
- 44:39Speaker 2: And like, in that moment, how true is that? Like
- 44:42Speaker 2: these kids? They you can't mean, it's just you could
- 44:45Speaker 2: lead a student to knowledge, you can't make them think.
- 44:47Speaker 2: You can lead a horse to water. You can't make
- 44:49Speaker 2: it drink. At some point it has to click, and
- 44:52Speaker 2: sometimes it doesn't. And it's not your fault. You know,
- 44:56Speaker 2: you've seen good parents with kids before, right, It.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Just happens, it does. It happens. Every kid makes their
- 45:01Speaker 3: own choice. You just hope that you build the conscious
- 45:04Speaker 3: conscience in their brain so that little voice goes, maybe
- 45:07Speaker 3: I shouldn't do that. That's what we got going on.
- 45:11Speaker 3: But all right, with that being said, I feel like,
- 45:14Speaker 3: you know, that's that's a wrap. I feel like that
- 45:17Speaker 3: was good. I appreciate you, Yeah, man, I appreciate you
- 45:19Speaker 3: taking some time on a non recording day. One of
- 45:22Speaker 3: these days will be backfull business you've been is chasing
- 45:25Speaker 3: kids around on a baseball field coaching. This was supposed
- 45:28Speaker 3: to be my one night off, but I have to
- 45:30Speaker 3: head to basketball So with that being said, I I
- 45:34Speaker 3: really I'm gonna let that sit in my brain, like
- 45:36Speaker 3: I'm trying to slow down what you said at the
- 45:38Speaker 3: beginning of the show, and I want I want to
- 45:40Speaker 3: try to do the same goddamn thing, man, I want
- 45:42Speaker 3: to try to slow down a little bit, and hopefully
- 45:44Speaker 3: people listening we'll take some things that we said. Obviously
- 45:48Speaker 3: we're goofy, but maybe they'll take something we said and
- 45:50Speaker 3: then be like, all right, shit, I'm gonna do like
- 45:51Speaker 3: they do. Or maybe we're giving bad advice and you
- 45:53Speaker 3: should do the opposite. But either way, I appreciate every
- 45:58Speaker 3: single morning, and Brandon, I appreciate you and we'll do it.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Again soon much love. Brother, appreciate you too, all.
- 46:03Speaker 3: Right, man, Bye bye.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Knocking.
- 46:07Speaker 2: Who's there? It's the podcast shop.
- 46:09Speaker 3: The doors, stay out of my fresh well that ready
- 46:13Speaker 3: to explore.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Gotta tell the tale. Gonna make you laugh and make
- 46:16Speaker 2: you smile. So fuckle love, tie, it's gonna be a
- 46:20Speaker 2: long bride.
- 46:21Speaker 3: You're tiding deep into your fresh were SECRETI
