- 0:00Speaker 1: AI versus crypto. Today, we're going to break it down
- 0:02Speaker 1: to you. This could be one of the biggest impacts
- 0:04Speaker 1: on crypto yet. You'll understand why in a moment. One
- 0:07Speaker 1: of the first things though, that I would invite you
- 0:09Speaker 1: to do is get in on self custing and you'll
- 0:12Speaker 1: understand why in this episode.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Self custing may be one.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Of the few secure areas where your crypto will be safe.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Of course, you can check out Tangum. This is one
- 0:22Speaker 1: of the places that I would go into true ownership,
- 0:24Speaker 1: no bank, nothing in between you and your digital asset.
- 0:27Speaker 1: This is seedless by design, which may be one of
- 0:31Speaker 1: the key features in the Tangum hardware wallet.
- 0:35Speaker 2: So use our code if you guys want to get
- 0:37Speaker 2: a discount on that.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Check it out, very easy to set up, super secure,
- 0:40Speaker 1: one of the best wallets out there to check out.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Even in light of what I'm about to tell you
- 0:45Speaker 1: and show you today, because there is a lot going
- 0:47Speaker 1: on right now here, it is Mythos has officially launched.
- 0:52Speaker 1: This is Claude Fable five. It is now out and
- 0:55Speaker 1: this is as of one oh eight pm on June ninth,
- 1:00Speaker 1: that as Skynet Day. I feel like you probably saw
- 1:03Speaker 1: the cover today. Well, this is the issue right now
- 1:06Speaker 1: because the potential for what this could do to crypto
- 1:10Speaker 1: and just in general open blockchains could be havoc in
- 1:15Speaker 1: the markets.
- 1:16Speaker 2: And I'll explain a little bit more.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Remember z Cash remember down nearly fifty percent after the
- 1:21Speaker 1: CEO confirmed the critical bug. Well, Claude Opus four point
- 1:25Speaker 1: eight was the one that did that. And remember Claude
- 1:29Speaker 1: four point eight was available to almost everybody. This wasn't
- 1:33Speaker 1: like some special AI that was available Formanthropic. This was
- 1:36Speaker 1: Claude four point eight, which was available on the open
- 1:40Speaker 1: access platform. That was what essentially did the z cash exploit.
- 1:45Speaker 1: And this is the problem that we're facing now. But
- 1:48Speaker 1: only one further and that is that Mythos of course
- 1:51Speaker 1: is launching. And if you look at where Mythos is
- 1:54Speaker 1: right now, I'll kind of zoom in on this just
- 1:56Speaker 1: to give you guys a better look at this. Here's
- 1:59Speaker 1: fable five versus four point eight. That third column over
- 2:03Speaker 1: agentic coding going up from sixty nine percent to eighty percent.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Big increase thirteen percent on agentic coding for Frontier, that's
- 2:11Speaker 1: a twenty nine percent. Now, knowledge work has increased, knowledge
- 2:15Speaker 1: work vision has increased, spatial reasoning is basically everything is
- 2:20Speaker 1: increasing in terms of performance, and this is the problem
- 2:24Speaker 1: that we are now dealing with because this will open
- 2:26Speaker 1: up a potential plethora of issues that could be facing
- 2:30Speaker 1: some of the biggest blockchains out there. We're going to
- 2:32Speaker 1: give you, guys a full analysis of what blockchains we
- 2:35Speaker 1: think could be resistant or at least right now. In
- 2:39Speaker 1: this right here, which was Project glass Wing. They initially
- 2:42Speaker 1: put this out to say, hey, we're going to do
- 2:44Speaker 1: the Mythos preview.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Well, this was the preview right here.
- 2:47Speaker 1: The only problem is they actually launched on Mythos five
- 2:50Speaker 1: fable five and it is now out, So this is
- 2:53Speaker 1: just released today as we're filming this. And remember Project
- 2:57Speaker 1: glass Wing was really just an idea of being able
- 3:00Speaker 1: to warn developers open source projects what would be dealing with.
- 3:04Speaker 1: So far, Mythos found what they estimated at sixty two
- 3:08Speaker 1: hundred high or critical severity vulnerabilities in those projects out
- 3:13Speaker 1: of twenty three thousand in total.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Think about that, guys.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Z cash could just be the tip of the tip
- 3:20Speaker 1: of the tip of the iceberg. That's the problem they
- 3:22Speaker 1: are facing right now. Look at this finding array right here.
- 3:26Speaker 1: This is kind of gives you an example of this,
- 3:28Speaker 1: twenty three thousand findings, nineteen hundred were reviewed by external
- 3:31Speaker 1: security firms. All of this was reported and going into
- 3:36Speaker 1: these teams, but only eighty eight advisories were pulled out
- 3:39Speaker 1: of this, meaning that a lot of these teams, where
- 3:41Speaker 1: they're on GitHub, etc. They're not necessarily following all of
- 3:45Speaker 1: what's happening right now around a blockchain. Maybe they stopped
- 3:47Speaker 1: developing on six months ago, eight months ago. Now we're
- 3:50Speaker 1: dealing with this as a core critical step now of
- 3:54Speaker 1: keeping blockchains safe. This was the problem, and this is
- 3:58Speaker 1: what I voted for, which is master exploit cycles. This
- 4:01Speaker 1: is the one area that I am concerned around for
- 4:03Speaker 1: defive and this is going to get into a security
- 4:06Speaker 1: issue that most likely will start to affect So do
- 4:10Speaker 1: be on the lookout for some things that will start
- 4:13Speaker 1: to hit the crypto market and maybe banking. We may
- 4:16Speaker 1: see this across a variety of industries. With Mythos and
- 4:20Speaker 1: fable five. Here's again example of the Mythos mid to
- 4:23Speaker 1: late June release.
- 4:24Speaker 2: It's already out.
- 4:26Speaker 1: If cadence is held, we could see another big release
- 4:30Speaker 1: in less really less than a month, because this is
- 4:32Speaker 1: ahead of schedule right now, launching on June ninth, so
- 4:36Speaker 1: they were actually ahead of schedules, so July could be
- 4:41Speaker 1: another major hit. So let's look at the blockchains and
- 4:44Speaker 1: the potentials for this.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Sue.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Of course, we've seen having some problems if you start
- 4:49Speaker 1: to scan through some of their downtime issues. Granted they
- 4:52Speaker 1: have started to address this. They're probably the one out
- 4:55Speaker 1: there that is on the bleeding edge of this, but
- 4:57Speaker 1: we just haven't seen anything coming at it like Mythos before.
- 5:02Speaker 1: So that is one to keep an eye on this.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Right here will get into what Evan and he's been
- 5:07Speaker 1: on our show. This is one of the founders of.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Suite. And remember these guys come over from Facebook. These
- 5:13Speaker 2: are not slapches. These guys are engineers that understand this.
- 5:15Speaker 2: But here's what do you have to say.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Take a look the gas list transaction. The downside of
- 5:21Speaker 4: kind of that is we box we didn't catch a
- 5:25Speaker 4: feature that went through multi months, about six months extensive
- 5:28Speaker 4: testing and still have this EDU case where it's calculating
- 5:31Speaker 4: gas led into an underflow that led to the other star,
- 5:37Speaker 4: which is one of those scenarios that you basically impossible
- 5:40Speaker 4: to simulate. Did you use some AI tools to help
- 5:43Speaker 4: you run through internally. We have all AI tools, it's
- 5:47Speaker 4: not always right. You still need human to drive it.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Fixing is another thing. The Harpie is always coordination.
- 5:54Speaker 3: It's a title for having and I mean, if you know,
- 5:56Speaker 3: there's no.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Excuse for the outage. I made it very clear. It's
- 5:59Speaker 4: not a trade off. It's a requirement for you to
- 6:02Speaker 4: not have outreach. It's a process we learned. We're going
- 6:05Speaker 4: to make sure that doesn't happen again.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Just be aware, guys, these kind of things are going
- 6:09Speaker 1: to be challenging, not only like I said, not only crypto,
- 6:12Speaker 1: but also devs within almost every imaginable company out there,
- 6:16Speaker 1: including the banking system.
- 6:18Speaker 2: So be on the lookout. We could see a major
- 6:20Speaker 2: exploit there.
- 6:21Speaker 1: One thing around a suite is remember the gas lit
- 6:24Speaker 1: transactions were one of the attack factors that was circumvented
- 6:28Speaker 1: or at least in the problem where it brought the
- 6:29Speaker 1: chain down. The other area is what they're dealing with
- 6:32Speaker 1: confidential transfers right now.
- 6:33Speaker 2: So there's three of those. If you look at those.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Confidential amounts, transaction parties, and DeFi. All of these areas
- 6:40Speaker 1: now are potential attack factors that we could see around
- 6:44Speaker 1: any of this, and again this goes with almost every
- 6:46Speaker 1: development that's happening out there in tech today. Other things
- 6:49Speaker 1: you have to look at is and I was even
- 6:52Speaker 1: surprised at this is remember the XRP ledger was down
- 6:56Speaker 1: in February of twenty twenty five, and that wasn't the
- 6:58Speaker 1: only time. So these are to continue to be And
- 7:01Speaker 1: when I had one of the XRP devs on the
- 7:04Speaker 1: show when we went to the XRP Vegas event, this
- 7:07Speaker 1: was a direct question to him about this specifically, and
- 7:12Speaker 1: it was interesting because the tone got very serious and
- 7:15Speaker 1: it wasn't even an issue of if it was like,
- 7:19Speaker 1: this is the line in the sand for survival, and
- 7:22Speaker 1: I would agree with that as we continue to see this.
- 7:25Speaker 1: So from there I want to go over to Carl Vogel.
- 7:27Speaker 1: He talks about where institutions will follow in regards to
- 7:32Speaker 1: the impact of what AI exploits could do.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Take a look, you're just going to see the quidy
- 7:38Speaker 3: leave the system, and I don't see a near term
- 7:41Speaker 3: catalyst for a reversal. I think generally Bitcoin has a
- 7:44Speaker 3: number of structural issues that it's facing. I think the
- 7:47Speaker 3: fact there's not a clear strategy in place, it's just
- 7:49Speaker 3: an overhang that needs institutions are going to go look
- 7:51Speaker 3: at other things instead of the crypto market that goes
- 7:54Speaker 3: up or down. You're really picking individual assets that are
- 7:57Speaker 3: going to outperform in this type of conditions because there's
- 8:00Speaker 3: the new age and then there's the old age of assets.
- 8:02Speaker 3: It's salonas to lose, I would say at this point.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Mean Coins broke Solana a number of times where the
- 8:11Speaker 3: network needed to improve to handle the throughput, and so
- 8:14Speaker 3: because of that, it actually radically hardened the infrastructure and
- 8:17Speaker 3: was one of the best test bets. So now if
- 8:19Speaker 3: you're looking to build somewhere again, it's going to work
- 8:22Speaker 3: and you're able to do one thousands of transactions per second,
- 8:25Speaker 3: and that's been tested in production versus a lot of
- 8:28Speaker 3: these other newer networks I'm very excited by, but they
- 8:31Speaker 3: haven't had that same level of testing in production. Avalanche
- 8:34Speaker 3: is another institutional focus blockchain that has made enormous leaps.
- 8:38Speaker 1: All right, So two blockchains that we've talked about a
- 8:41Speaker 1: lot here on the networks AALTA if you just look
- 8:42Speaker 1: at their performance right now on status pages. With Salon,
- 8:46Speaker 1: I was a little surprised on this. If you start
- 8:48Speaker 1: scanned backwards and look at when the last deployment was
- 8:53Speaker 1: on main net in terms of a stoppage. I mean,
- 8:56Speaker 1: you go way back into twenty twenty three. And that's
- 8:59Speaker 1: exactly what the analyst was. What Voga was talking about,
- 9:02Speaker 1: is that we haven't seen this because of the hardening
- 9:05Speaker 1: of the Salana network, because of what happened to the
- 9:08Speaker 1: mean point.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Now, that doesn't mean that this is going to.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Fix or be the one to watch here, but it
- 9:13Speaker 1: does give them a bit of an edge to where
- 9:16Speaker 1: they can deal with what could be coming down the pipeline.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Avalanche is another one. The last one we saw there,
- 9:21Speaker 1: of course, was back where in February of twenty twenty
- 9:23Speaker 1: four we had the finalization stall that was resolved. Avalanche
- 9:27Speaker 1: being another one to kind of keep an eye on.
- 9:30Speaker 1: One other thing if you want to consider where is
- 9:32Speaker 1: safe when it comes to centralized exchange is remember guys coinbase,
- 9:36Speaker 1: which we love them, but they have had many, many
- 9:40Speaker 1: outages and if you look at September of twenty three,
- 9:43Speaker 1: they had the coinbase ethereum L two. This course went
- 9:46Speaker 1: down for approximately forty five minutes. You go into October
- 9:50Speaker 1: of twenty four, twenty five, there was March, September, August,
- 9:54Speaker 1: and then of course in twenty six we had May eighth,
- 9:56Speaker 1: which was the big one, five plus hours of outage,
- 10:00Speaker 1: which caused by physical infrastructure failure.
- 10:02Speaker 2: This was ABS and some of those things that affects this.
- 10:06Speaker 1: So that in itself is another concern is what could
- 10:09Speaker 1: happen on exchanges. Not necessarily saying that's a bad thing,
- 10:13Speaker 1: but this is an issue that all of these companies
- 10:16Speaker 1: are now facing with AI advancement, and we're going to
- 10:18Speaker 1: see this more and more. It's not slowing down these projects,
- 10:22Speaker 1: and companies in all walks of industry when it comes
- 10:25Speaker 1: to tech, are going to have to become hardened in
- 10:28Speaker 1: being able to defend against this.
- 10:30Speaker 2: If you look at.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Lightning, because this was obviously with bitcoin, if you know
- 10:35Speaker 1: the Lightning network essentially is the transactional layer that gets
- 10:38Speaker 1: you more frequency there in terms of transactions, it looks
- 10:42Speaker 1: as though this may be safe, or at least it
- 10:45Speaker 1: appears that way when you go into one of the
- 10:49Speaker 1: biggest analysts and devs in the Bitcoin network. I think
- 10:55Speaker 1: for the last decade, you've got to go listen to
- 10:57Speaker 1: what Paul Stortz is saying.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Take a look at this clip.
- 11:00Speaker 5: One example is that on Noster they have the zapp
- 11:04Speaker 5: and they have a lightning icon, and then it appears
- 11:07Speaker 5: to be a lightning transaction even though it is not
- 11:09Speaker 5: a lightning transaction in any way. But this is the
- 11:12Speaker 5: tip of the iceberg. Many many, many things they have
- 11:14Speaker 5: like the lightning icon or they have a lightning name,
- 11:17Speaker 5: but there's actually no lightning transaction taking place. Should work
- 11:20Speaker 5: if the channels are open, right, like you would think
- 11:22Speaker 5: that people don't even open a channel. So the channels
- 11:25Speaker 5: when you do, if you download the Custodia Lightning to
- 11:27Speaker 5: your phone and then someone sends you this happened to
- 11:29Speaker 5: me at an archipolco one year, you know I never
- 11:31Speaker 5: opened a channel. If you have to open a channel,
- 11:34Speaker 5: it requires L one transaction fee paid.
- 11:37Speaker 2: So there is no channels being open in US.
- 11:39Speaker 5: So then they say that this is just say this
- 11:42Speaker 5: is custodial lightning, but really it's just nothing. You don't
- 11:44Speaker 5: actually have four stacies on the lightning networking on L one.
- 11:48Speaker 5: The whole thing is fake.
- 11:49Speaker 1: That's what you learn.
- 11:50Speaker 5: If you dive into lightning, you'll just find that the
- 11:52Speaker 5: whole thing is fake. Actually it's one percent centralized corporation thing.
- 11:56Speaker 5: They just update the database entry and so, and then
- 11:59Speaker 5: someone like me says this whole thing is fake. They
- 12:01Speaker 5: just think, Ah, the guys, the guys a liear.
- 12:04Speaker 1: So when you consider what Paul was talking about, you've
- 12:06Speaker 1: got to look at micro strategy and of course Lightning
- 12:08Speaker 1: Network in general, because this is what could be uncovering
- 12:12Speaker 1: something that I don't think a lot of people were anticipating.
- 12:14Speaker 1: And if this gets into a scenario where he is right,
- 12:16Speaker 1: which is Lightning Network is not really processing real transactions.
- 12:21Speaker 1: So this could open up a bigger can of worms
- 12:24Speaker 1: really for micro strategy if this is exploited and it's
- 12:27Speaker 1: proven to what Paul stores was talking about right there,
- 12:30Speaker 1: and this of course affects micro strategy and Bitcoin in
- 12:33Speaker 1: a very very big way. So that could be an
- 12:36Speaker 1: attack vector that you need to be very close on.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Just as a reminder, here is the micro Strategy business
- 12:41Speaker 1: model of what they're trying to do. Bitcoin development, treasury,
- 12:44Speaker 1: that's what they're doing right now. The enterprise analytics, which
- 12:47Speaker 1: is their main strategy. This is really designed because of
- 12:51Speaker 1: the Lightning and involves the Lightning Network where it justifies
- 12:54Speaker 1: the payment premium, and that's the point I think if
- 12:56Speaker 1: this gets into a point where this would be at risk,
- 13:00Speaker 1: it eliminates anything trading above nav So that is a
- 13:03Speaker 1: problem for micro strategy in the long term, especially as
- 13:07Speaker 1: we start to see these exploits start to come into
- 13:09Speaker 1: the market. All right, So when we were reported this
- 13:12Speaker 1: quite some time ago, this was one of the areas
- 13:15Speaker 1: that we're most concerned with, and that was the release
- 13:18Speaker 1: of Mythos, which is now today. And remember all of
- 13:22Speaker 1: these companies that we're dealing with security issues, and that
- 13:27Speaker 1: is traditional companies. I mean, you're talking about CrowdStrike at
- 13:30Speaker 1: Palo Alto, Octa, Tenable, cloud Flare, all these companies that
- 13:35Speaker 1: were involved in and this is back to my point
- 13:38Speaker 1: is this is going to go beyond crypto. We're most
- 13:41Speaker 1: likely going to see this on critical infrastructure as well.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I'm talking about grids, you name it out there in
- 13:46Speaker 1: terms of municipalities, there's all kinds of things that could
- 13:49Speaker 1: be at risk. So be on the lookout, guys. There
- 13:52Speaker 1: could be some very unusual things hitting the market.
- 13:56Speaker 2: So what do you do. Well. One of the things
- 13:57Speaker 2: that I think when it.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Comes to digital assets to get around this is just
- 14:02Speaker 1: store it safely. And you know, if many of you
- 14:04Speaker 1: guys are using you know, self cussing wallets. One thing
- 14:08Speaker 1: you're probably used if you're on an Apple device is
- 14:10Speaker 1: you're probably utilizing iCloud. Maybe you're doing past keys. What
- 14:14Speaker 1: I would do is delete all your pass keys into
- 14:16Speaker 1: any of these assets, so there's no leverage in any
- 14:20Speaker 1: way where it requires biometric physical And if there's a
- 14:23Speaker 1: seedless solution out there, something like the Tangent product, then
- 14:27Speaker 1: go with that because these are the issues right now.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Use a hardware wallet, keep your seed phrase offline, keep
- 14:32Speaker 1: it secure, use a secure physical storage, always on security
- 14:36Speaker 1: like that, Separate access from storage another factor, test recovery
- 14:41Speaker 1: before trusting it, and then limit your exposure.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Move this around. If you have the ability or the
- 14:46Speaker 2: to kind of have multiple wallets, do that.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Treat every device as a security boundary. I know this
- 14:53Speaker 1: is this is going to happen around bank accounts, It's
- 14:56Speaker 1: going to happen into your four oh one ks, all
- 14:59Speaker 1: of your exchange, all those kind of things. Security is
- 15:02Speaker 1: paramount right now with what we will see coming at
- 15:07Speaker 1: this new world. So we're going to cover this in
- 15:09Speaker 1: much much more as things resolve out here, So stay
