- 0:00This is not a story that ends well.
- 0:03This is not a story about wishes.
- 0:07The wishes I'm sure there will be.
- 0:11This is a story that has been lost to time.
- 0:15This is a story of the way the world ended the last time.
- 0:22This is a story of the Wizards 3.
- 0:25But most of all, this is a story about luck.
- 0:29Welcome to dice size. This is AD and D audio budget
- 0:31podcast where we tell bite sized dice are toy stores.
- 0:35And today we will be diving into a very special flashback into
- 0:38the past of Cassie's mother, now goddess, but once immortal, we
- 0:43will see exactly how that occurred.
- 0:45But before we get there and all the other ether eggs and other
- 0:48secrets, let's get to intros. This is me, your DM Rob
- 0:51Whitehead and with me as always my lovely table of friends and
- 0:53family. Here we have George.
- 0:55Hey, it's Gene not playing Parable today.
- 0:57Playing EZ the odd I am called as by those close but odd from
- 1:03afar. As there is a odd is a name I've
- 1:06been known by, but many call me the Spirit of the West.
- 1:09Known to move mountains and bend rivers to right the way of
- 1:12things. The cosmos are connected and us,
- 1:15we are just conduits to its energies.
- 1:17I am quite a capable conduit. I may have left most of myself
- 1:21behind when I took my path of immortality, but a Jinn walks
- 1:25the noble path. As the river winds and the
- 1:28fields flow. I am the rain and wind that
- 1:31grows. There was a time before all of
- 1:33this. I was different.
- 1:35Once offered as a child to the pools, the cycle, and after
- 1:39knowing the place beyond places, it changes the core.
- 1:43I am Jin and I am a Wizard of the elements.
- 1:48So many ether eggs in that man. So many ether eggs.
- 1:51What the hell, That was so good. Very excited to be playing a
- 1:54wizard and a subclass that matches I think the jinn
- 1:58elements of my character. Yeah, well, illusionist, right,
- 2:02Correct. Yes, Yeah, Yeah.
- 2:04High level illusionist are just like this exists.
- 2:08That feels right for yeah. Yeah, everything's just held
- 2:10together by just but but a wish. In the womb, Oh my God, but a
- 2:19wish in my womb. Poof, got it.
- 2:20Here it is for you, listener, This story now moving on to the
- 2:25next in our lovely intros, Maya. Hey, it's Maya.
- 2:28You can call me Maya. I will be playing Ozrien every
- 2:33Kroner, G Savant and Wizard of Time, but you can call him Oz.
- 2:37He is tall, lanky, white haired, humanoid.
- 2:42He's got young features when we first meet him, but his eyes
- 2:46seem to have seen more years than he's willing to admit.
- 2:49He looks tired, but he's sharp and he.
- 2:52Will not be rushed. So good.
- 2:57Yeah, he's made a name for himself in the local village or
- 3:00like surrounding area, wherever you decide to land us as the
- 3:05Sage of the East. And he serves as a pseudo
- 3:07Oracle, giving vague advice about time and soothing worries
- 3:11of those who seek his counsel. So.
- 3:14Nice, he's already practicing the cult leader thing.
- 3:17Love it. Allegedly.
- 3:18Allegedly. They're.
- 3:19Just he's helping, right? They chose to come to him, he
- 3:24gave them advice and what they do with that advice is on them.
- 3:29No accountability here, no. Accountability in the slightest.
- 3:32Welcome Asri and every. I will try to say it as slow as
- 3:36possible, but I have a story to get to.
- 3:38So without further ado, let's get to my lovely wife, Savannah.
- 3:42Sav here. Today I will be playing Soraya
- 3:45Sarian, otherwise known as Cassie's mother and the Wizard
- 3:48Luck. She's an astral elf and School
- 3:51of Divination wizard, so she strives to part the veils of
- 3:54space-time and consciousness. And as far as looks, Soraya is
- 3:59ethereal. Her skin is a billion shades of
- 4:02piercingly icy Blues and purples, but somehow she only
- 4:06ever exudes warmth and comfort and kindness through every
- 4:10movement and word. She was once an explorer of the
- 4:14vast unknown, but 50 years ago, Soraya arrived here on Atlas,
- 4:20where she's found a brief respite and sense of peace in a
- 4:23new home on a new planet. And here she spends her time
- 4:27singing with the stars to divine answers for the good of those
- 4:30who wish to know their own potential.
- 4:33Despite the goodness that surrounds her, she feels a near
- 4:36constant presence of darkness, manifesting as anxious thoughts
- 4:40about whether or not this new home will meet the same bait as
- 4:44the ones she's left behind. Much like mother, like daughter,
- 4:49the apple did not seem to fall far from this tree, but it seems
- 4:53to be like a a very sturdy tree, having survived with what sounds
- 4:57like the fallings of multiple worlds, and having made her way
- 5:01to one that seems to be lasting. Atlas, a world that has seen
- 5:06enough breaking that it's found some way to be stable.
- 5:10Let's hope. I'm sure that must be a point of
- 5:13curiosity. She's hopeful.
- 5:15Welcome, Soraya Sarian. I appreciate the luck that you
- 5:19bring us in our story tonight. Luck is merely believing you
- 5:23were lucky. She's ready tonight, folks.
- 5:26With that, let's get to not necessarily a recap, just a
- 5:30cold, strong start y'all. Let's get it.
- 5:34We join each of our heroes for the first time as they all
- 5:38arrive independently to a village in the northern ranges
- 5:41of a continent known only as Corinth, in a small port town
- 5:45called Feathergale. Each of our Wizards may have
- 5:49different motivations, but their quests are all one and the same
- 5:52unbeknownst to each other. Drawn by lore, legend and recent
- 5:56news of supposed sightings of a ship that fell from the sky,
- 6:01they each have come in search of the famed Flying Oath singer
- 6:06once captained by the fearsome pirate Lord known only as Spell
- 6:10Beard Whipping. Winter winds and curtains of
- 6:16snowflakes falling sideways greet you as you arrive to this
- 6:19cold and frigid place. Titanic sized evergreens dot the
- 6:23cracked ridges that surround Feathergale on three sides, with
- 6:27open waters on the northern side leading to the Atlassian Ocean.
- 6:31Sheltered from the frigidly cold and biting winds by the natural
- 6:34windbreaks of forest and cliffside, this small town is
- 6:38able to keep the northern Bay waters unfrozen during sun
- 6:42season. It is not sun season.
- 6:45The rest of the year is spent ice fishing and crafting goods
- 6:48for sale during sun season. Each of you give me a skill
- 6:50check here and now, and any skill check you want and you
- 6:53just got to have proficiency or expertise in it.
- 6:56And this will be to better tell us how you may have gathered
- 6:58Intel about this quest to find this legendary flying ship once
- 7:03captained by a fearsome pirate Lord, supposedly having gone
- 7:06lost and crashed in this frigid, frigid northern wasteland.
- 7:10Where I rolled a 23 insight. As rolled a 29 nature check.
- 7:16Cool as. Rolled A21.
- 7:19History. Cool.
- 7:21We will start with the 21 history.
- 7:24With that, you know that you are in a town called Feathergale, in
- 7:28a continent known as Corn. It is famous for very few things
- 7:32but famous for those things they're fish and one good that
- 7:37they craft which is Otter skins or furs rather fur trade.
- 7:42Basically most come from otters. You also know that there is
- 7:46supposedly a a sacred place in the mountains that have similar
- 7:51to you as a sage of the sage sage of the West.
- 7:56Excuse me, I'm trying to get that wrong.
- 7:58As a Sage of the East, you know that there are also supposedly
- 8:01another couple of sages in the mountains.
- 8:03I don't think you know exactly the details with that check, but
- 8:06you know that they're rumored and somewhere around here.
- 8:09Oh, a sacred place in the mountains, you said?
- 8:11Yes, supposedly. Sacred place in the mountain.
- 8:14This place is famous for the fur trade and fish and specifically
- 8:16otters in terms of the fur trade.
- 8:18Lastly, that you're definitely spot on.
- 8:21There were recent sightings of a falling ship that has fallen
- 8:25from the sky, specifically by an old woman and a young boy in the
- 8:30town of Featherdale. You have only the name of the
- 8:34young boy, which is apparently Dragon Adventure.
- 8:37Love that for his Name is Dragon Adventure.
- 8:40His name is Dragon Adventure. Apparently like that.
- 8:42That's kind of how the the news spread so wide and far.
- 8:44It's like, no, the little boy that can't shut up about it.
- 8:47His name is Dragon Adventure. And then the flying ship is kind
- 8:51of like a side note. Got it.
- 8:53OK, cool Soraya, with your 23 insights, you feel all that and
- 9:00just know it by instinct. Something within the song of the
- 9:04Stars above this place plays out it's history to you.
- 9:07As you consider your quest before you to find this famously
- 9:12legendary ship. Where might you go about it and
- 9:15how might you do it? People of this land, of course,
- 9:18would be helpful, but would it be wise to bring them into what
- 9:22your adventures often turn out to be dangerous?
- 9:25There's of course the natural ways of the land, which you
- 9:29you've always understood instinctually as an astral elf
- 9:32being, you're kind of in touch with the movement of the
- 9:34multiverse. More so than that, you as an
- 9:37individual have learned to extend that to nature.
- 9:40So accessing the nature around and something in your spirit,
- 9:44says otters. Seeking out an Otter species
- 9:47might be a way to gain further information.
- 9:51Looking For more information about the ship that fell?
- 9:53Yes as like a way to follow up something your instinct says I
- 9:56could go talk to an Otter and they might know more interesting
- 9:59instinct is often interesting. Lastly, you feel more than
- 10:04anything this kind of draw to Co practitioners of divination.
- 10:09Maybe you've heard of the oracles of Corinth.
- 10:13Three, at times old, at times young, at times middling women
- 10:18who are supposed reincarnations of fate, and they exist in a
- 10:23sacred place upon a hilltop in the Corinthian mountains, which
- 10:26is where you are all now. Not the hilltop, but we are in
- 10:29Corinth, in the mountains, correct?
- 10:31Well, that's exciting. Those are kind of the leads that
- 10:33you have ahead of you. Interesting.
- 10:36To be clear, you also felt like the maybe you don't.
- 10:39It's up to you whether you have the details of dragon adventure,
- 10:42but you also have it in your head.
- 10:43You can go talk to someone in town similar to Time.
- 10:45Cool, so Oz Soraya AS29 what? 29 Nature check.
- 10:53You're going to talk to otters for.
- 10:54Sure, I I imagine if I have you've already.
- 10:59Spoken to the otters. I imagine that I've arrived here
- 11:02earlier in the day and I have the the lid off my lamp.
- 11:06Just been meditating. And I'm, I'm basking in my
- 11:09little holding lamp. I've got a whole living room
- 11:11down in there with like a a bunk up in the pore spout.
- 11:14Very, very cool in your little bottle of respite as you lay
- 11:18there with your 29 nature. Like set up like you're.
- 11:22Definitely going Otter. I'm like set up on like a little
- 11:25stump, yeah, just some random stump, a lamp to sit in there.
- 11:28You feel within you a connection to the water that you have
- 11:32always felt that feels strengthened by these
- 11:35conditions, harsh though they may be, and the stone within you
- 11:382 sings at the mountains around you.
- 11:42You are at more peace than you have been in a long time, having
- 11:45been raised in the desert, a place that does not ask much for
- 11:50stone, at least not as solid as you are, or have the space for
- 11:55much water. But here you have space for
- 11:57yourself in all aspects. I think because I'm tiny in this
- 12:01little lamp, I think a big old raindrop dewdrop drips off the
- 12:05leaf and comes because I have my lid open.
- 12:07Yeah. So I'm like chilling on the
- 12:08dewdrop just looking up at that. As you look up at the sky that
- 12:13it actually I don't think you could get a raindrop out right
- 12:16now. It would be a giant snowflake in
- 12:18the conditions that you are in right now as these northern
- 12:21ranges are much too frigid for rain to get down.
- 12:24Perhaps a hail on a sun season day.
- 12:27However, it is like I said, not sun season.
- 12:30As the snow pours in, perhaps it melts enough upon your boat to
- 12:34make a big drop upon you, but the sky above is frigid and
- 12:40cold. And with that 29 nature again.
- 12:44With this check being in mind to seek out this ship you feel in
- 12:48terms of nature and how nature observed it.
- 12:52Five bright points within what I would imagine you see as like
- 12:57this network in ahead of you magically at 1st and then it
- 13:00converges with the flow of the natural world and the vital
- 13:04auras that exist within. Everything from the aura of
- 13:08grass, the aura of stone, the aura of water, all of it mixing
- 13:11at different points till you get to the aura of Otter and five
- 13:17break points. As I said, you can decide what
- 13:19the nature form of these names are, but you hear the names of
- 13:24Jitter, Wobble, biter, Bartholomew and Parsley, Jitter,
- 13:28Wobble, Biter, Biter, Bartholomew, Bartholomew and
- 13:32Parsley, Parsley, your wobble, bitter, bitter, Barthol, Biter,
- 13:37biter, biter, biter. Wait, there's a bitter and a
- 13:40biter. No, not a bitter and a biter.
- 13:41No, I just. That's why.
- 13:42But. Jitter, wobble, Biter,
- 13:45Bartholomew and. You like snap out of this new
- 13:48like meditative vision as you you, you actually have the
- 13:51feeling of one of the sibling otters getting their hand
- 13:54bitten, their Paul bitten as if they make the mistake of calling
- 13:58biter bitter and you snap out. But you, you know with that
- 14:01check their exact location, you can follow up with them very
- 14:04easily and you hear them arguing amongst one another.
- 14:07You get flashes of the conversations they've had about
- 14:10this ship, and no, it's definitely going to fly.
- 14:13I'm going to fly again. There's no way it can fly again.
- 14:16That thing came down so freaking fast, buddy.
- 14:18I'm telling you. I'm telling you.
- 14:20Look at me right now, Butter. Look at me right now, Butter.
- 14:23As my name is Bartholomew, I will see that ship fly once
- 14:26more. I will.
- 14:27I bet Parsley, you believe me, you'll learn to talk one day.
- 14:33It's fine. And the conversation continues
- 14:35amongst Jitter, Wobble, Biter, Botharamu and Parsley as they
- 14:39talk about a ship that they seem to have directly observed fall.
- 14:42Amazing. I think it looks like somebody
- 14:45in their living room trying to take a nap.
- 14:47Kind of kick back, beat up. Imagine now a snowflake instead
- 14:50of a dewdrop. So I'm chilling on my snowflake
- 14:55and looking up and goes off for a second and I wake up like I
- 15:00heard a chord again. All right, I got to find the
- 15:02notes and I use minor illusion to kind of make a digital
- 15:06looking map of where I'm at. Cool.
- 15:09And I just poke the five points with I did the light them up.
- 15:14And then I collapse the whole image and I jump out of my lamp,
- 15:17which looks like a little person jumping out of a lamp and then
- 15:19turning big. And in this landing I hook the
- 15:23lamp on my my robe, my silver and purple robe belt and comb my
- 15:28silver and purple hair and start to walk towards the knowns.
- 15:31Awesome. I think there's a perfect point
- 15:33to roll initiative here as we will see who gets to wear first.
- 15:40The 15 for ES. The 9 for oz.
- 15:43Or for Soraya. Well, with those roles, I think
- 15:47we let's get back to ES and the Otters, I would assume headed
- 15:50towards the otters. Yeah, and I'm going to be
- 15:53walking with my lamp down to the closest frozen body of water,
- 15:57and I'm going to reach my hand down and pass it over the bottom
- 16:01of my, honestly, I think bare feet.
- 16:04Yeah, Earth. You know, Noble Jin, that you
- 16:06are. You are one with the elements.
- 16:08Yeah, and I think I make ice skates and I start skating.
- 16:12Honestly, I didn't need them because I'm skating just above
- 16:14the ice and just like kind of floating on the wind.
- 16:16But I'm heading towards these, the feeling of these otters
- 16:19following the frequency of this connection that I had.
- 16:22Awesome. You quickly assess out their
- 16:23location and find them within a It's not a dam, but it's similar
- 16:29to 1 because it's in a large enough body of water that it
- 16:31wouldn't actually dam up anything, but it's near enough
- 16:34to the shore that it dams up, I guess, a small pool of water.
- 16:38They're a little bit eastern of the town.
- 16:40However they are rather near it, just underneath the ice, and as
- 16:45you have ice skated your way to right above their domain, which
- 16:49is made of frozen twigs and twine and dirt to the point
- 16:54where it becomes compact enough that it protects from the cold.
- 16:57What do you do as you sense them above their den?
- 17:00I want to use this role play wise investiture of ice pool.
- 17:04I'd love to use it and just kind of in a fun way, just sink below
- 17:09the ice. Cool.
- 17:10What does the spell actually do? Till the spell adds ice rims
- 17:13your body and you gain the following benefits.
- 17:16You are immune to cold and have resistance fire damage.
- 17:18You can move across difficult terrain created by ice or snow
- 17:21without spending extra movement. You know what, I might make you
- 17:25roll something here, but you actually as an Earth Janasi,
- 17:27also have a feature called Merge with Stone.
- 17:31Oh cool. Which again is just a stat block
- 17:33to represent your nobles, your nature.
- 17:34But it is primarily stone and water, and I think this is a
- 17:37perfect point for you to straight what a Janasi or a
- 17:40noble gin can do. In this case, as you drop down
- 17:45and you use that spell as like the framework to better pass
- 17:49through the ice and the stone, the den will fit you.
- 17:53It'll be a very tight squeeze amongst you and five otters as
- 17:56you drop down into it. OK.
- 17:58So like we're still in ice or is it in the water?
- 18:00Like they've built a den in the ice.
- 18:02They've built a den, but it's made of like, like I said,
- 18:04sticks and dirt. So I'm going to say that you're
- 18:06even able to pass through that, and you can pass through into
- 18:08the interior of the den if you like.
- 18:11I think it looks like me accessing that Jinasi and merge
- 18:14with stone mixed with this this ice spell just to flip
- 18:18underneath the ice. So I'm skating underneath it.
- 18:20Cool. And then I kind of ask through
- 18:23the entryway through the spot and I I'm going to disguise
- 18:26myself like an Otter, be talking to myself a little bit as like
- 18:29it's always better to work with them and then try to do
- 18:32something more than I need to. So let's just let's just let's
- 18:35do it. I snap my fingers.
- 18:36I turn into an Otter and I start walking towards where they're.
- 18:39OK, as you as you do so you enter the den and Biter Biter
- 18:44calm down as you have biter obviously snapping at you, but
- 18:48jitter is anxiously holding him back as he frantically bit, bit,
- 18:53bit. And wobble is just kind of
- 18:54sitting in a corner like like kind of rocking back and forth
- 18:57and eating some wood. I don't know what Otter seat.
- 19:00I assume clams they eat clams, undersea clams.
- 19:04And so that is what wobble is eating do.
- 19:06You want to play a game of clams and just talk about life?
- 19:09Yes, that would be I guess and that's that's what we do with
- 19:13guests. Do you?
- 19:14Have any shells I I could bring my own shells?
- 19:17I use minor illusion to. What do you want?
- 19:20We sat down to a game and we were doing some sort of like
- 19:23imagine Otter poker with these, these shells.
- 19:26And like, yeah, I was just looking for work in the area for
- 19:30any kind of ship repair, just passing through.
- 19:33It's what I do for a living. Well, Biter, there's that ship
- 19:37that went down. I guess we we could tell him
- 19:39about like the thing. They sit down to play shells.
- 19:43I I elbow. What was his name?
- 19:45Jitter. Jitter.
- 19:46Yeah, Jitter's freaking out right now because he he's had a
- 19:48a crazy losing streak to Bartholomew, who you are sitting
- 19:52and sit down to play against right now.
- 19:54He says Bartholomew is one of the best ones ever.
- 19:56You've never seen Bartholomew play clams, and he plays clams
- 19:59like the best. At least he doesn't take the
- 20:01skin off your back like all those losers out in the town,
- 20:04right? Bartholomew gets like almost
- 20:07soprano serious as he looks at you over a hand of clams and
- 20:10says, So you know about the skin tread, eh?
- 20:13That's not his voice at all, but it's.
- 20:14Got to be right now. It has to be, yeah.
- 20:16It's something that I've been avoiding for quite a while.
- 20:19I'm just looking to get into the ship business.
- 20:21Oh, that's not Bartholomew. That was this is me Parsley.
- 20:24I'm the one that's that's really starting to pick up on the fact
- 20:28that, yeah, there is a skin tread and I'm not sure if I'm
- 20:30into it. Yeah, I mean, I would really
- 20:32wouldn't be either. I mean, I'd be looking to work
- 20:34with ships. You guys see it?
- 20:35Any ships around here recently? There's that one that crashed.
- 20:38You're not talking about that. They've been.
- 20:39They've been betting about it, you stupid idiots.
- 20:42The. Game is to talk about skiing in
- 20:44the game. I mean, if we wanted to step
- 20:46away from the skins though and start working on those ships,
- 20:49where might I find that that ship you're talking?
- 20:51About you tell me, you give me, you give me info on on this
- 20:54year's skin trade and how I can get an in on it and or maybe
- 20:56disrupt it a little bit, get myself some business money.
- 20:59You tell me about it. You could not let them have your
- 21:02skins. They freak out as they would and
- 21:06they. Yeah, they relate to that.
- 21:08They saw a ship that seems to have fallen from the sky and
- 21:12dropped into about 3000 feet out into the Bay.
- 21:15And, you know, through their arguments, you hear the exact
- 21:17locations. They're like, don't tell them.
- 21:18And they're like for this much. And they're all philosophically
- 21:22destroyed in their minds. Yeah, I think I I immediately
- 21:25stand up, leave, turn into the genie form of myself and I say
- 21:29strength is in the choices that you.
- 21:31Know OK they have many choices left out of them.
- 21:34You get their location and have a zeroed in pinpoint on where
- 21:39the ship lay as you leave you don't hear them say a number of
- 21:45things that are like well what about the dragon that's there We
- 21:50should we could have told them about that right?
- 21:54What about the, oh, the fact that you can't access it because
- 21:57it's buried underneath thousands of miles of No, he doesn't.
- 22:00It's fine. Not 1000.
- 22:02It's like that. I can't count.
- 22:03It's like 10 feet of it's 20 feet of ice.
- 22:06You know, I can't count. As they all fight amongst
- 22:08themselves. Yeah, you definitely pinpoint
- 22:10the ship and you're on the way. There's a fucking dragon.
- 22:15Or could it be dragon? That's what I'm thinking, that
- 22:17they got it wrong. And I don't like social
- 22:19situations. I don't think I'd flush that
- 22:20out. I think I'd leave right away as
- 22:22soon as I knew it. I was just looking for where the
- 22:23ship was. That's and I got it.
- 22:25Yeah. And I think I'd literally take
- 22:26off this guy's self as I'm leaving and turn back into this
- 22:30purple robed genie like full size as I'm going back up
- 22:33through the ice. So cool, we will cut away to
- 22:38wherever Ozri and every is Oz, where are you at?
- 22:43His is on the edge of town and not having a good time.
- 22:48He's very cold, I. Did not prepare for the
- 22:51situation. He's grumbling to himself.
- 22:53He's trudging through the snow and the ice packed hillside and
- 22:58just if. I wasn't saving energy for
- 23:01later. I might definitely will need.
- 23:04I would change the time to the sun season.
- 23:06This is absolutely. Ridiculous there.
- 23:10Yes, there was a a magical teleportation circle that was a
- 23:13couple miles away, which is unheard of in civilized region.
- 23:18You've I've teleported, you've teleported into the the King's
- 23:21chambers before, for God's God's sake.
- 23:23For a wizard to walk is just unheard of these days and I
- 23:27just. I cannot be bothered to use my
- 23:29energy if I know I will need later if we do encounter the
- 23:32spell beard. But oh, I must find this drastic
- 23:36young child dragon adventure. As he's just like mumbling to
- 23:40himself just so annoyed. Yeah, you, you 0 in.
- 23:45I love like you just like starting through like I imagine
- 23:49having lived such a long life, you almost have to like sort
- 23:52through your memories like files as you're going 1 by 1 by 1.
- 23:55And it's just like, like, oh this boy dragon dragon
- 23:59adventure, like you're reminding yourself with each, each
- 24:01revisiting. I must meet this child mother
- 24:04and tell her that it's just. Such an unfortunate name.
- 24:10He's just wandering towards the the town as he gets there.
- 24:16I am capable for perception that there's like a shop open or.
- 24:21With your history check, I think that you know that you're
- 24:24hitting like town at the right time for shops to be open, OK?
- 24:28They are not. Oh.
- 24:30But the the shop that supposedly had the young boy who cited
- 24:35things, that shop is closed. However, you know that family
- 24:39worked and lived there and that establishment is easy to find.
- 24:43It's known as the Rusty Flagon. There's a creaky old sign on the
- 24:47outside and as you find it, this might be a 2 room in tops with
- 24:52assuming one room might be for them to live.
- 24:55Their door is closed but there is a bell.
- 24:58What do you do as you find windows shuttered for likely
- 25:02what is the weather as the weather is turning harsher and
- 25:04harsher by the minute? He's just going to ring the bell
- 25:08like a. Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding.
- 25:13It's cold out here. Ding as you Ding Ding, Ding.
- 25:19Give me a perception check 1st 9:00 That's so funny.
- 25:24Give me a Dexterity save and throw.
- 25:27Save YEAH 19. 90. Dirty 20.
- 25:31Oh OK, we'll see. It does save you are not
- 25:35grappled by a young boy who drops down upon you who seems to
- 25:40have a mask made of wood and a white dragon with like blue
- 25:44streaks of lightning coloring the Dragons.
- 25:47It's very artistic and the mask has two slotted eyes that are
- 25:52cut out in it, which is all you can see of this boy's face as he
- 25:56says you're fast for an old man. I'll have you at your legs on
- 25:59the ground in a second and he goes for your legs.
- 26:03Damn it, that's in 10. Nope, as this little boy hits
- 26:07you with just like a tiny wooden sword that wouldn't have done
- 26:10damage even if it had. I imagine Oz's dodge looks like
- 26:14kind of a blur, like he blurs and then is in a different
- 26:18position next and he would just come out and say you silly.
- 26:24Time hears and sees all. What?
- 26:28What like like the concept? What be your name, child?
- 26:32No, you answer the question. Be your.
- 26:35Name Dragon Dragon Dragon Adventure.
- 26:37Perfect. Let me in this tiny cottage.
- 26:41Well, may I and the. Biggest building in town I'll
- 26:44have you know. Incredible.
- 26:46Is it warm? I guess we'll light the earth.
- 26:49Beautiful. He's.
- 26:50Kind of just like walking. As he walks in, he doesn't say
- 26:54mom or dad, which is funny. He says Miss Hubble as he walks
- 26:59in and a woman who you might assume to be his mother steps
- 27:03down bleary eyed as if just out of sleep.
- 27:06And she says, oh, my dear, welcome, welcome you.
- 27:09You must. You didn't tell me that a
- 27:11gentleman was arriving. Finally, the respect I deserve.
- 27:16Oh. Dragon, Dragon.
- 27:18But light the fire, dear. Light the fire.
- 27:20Would you see? Dragon adventure goes over the
- 27:22The hard thing goes. It's honey.
- 27:25It's not going to work. It's not going to.
- 27:27I'm a dragon, Miss Hubble. I promise you.
- 27:30One day, maybe right now I'm not very important, but one day I
- 27:33will be. And Dragons are cool.
- 27:35And there's one on the lake and I could be a dragon.
- 27:37Honey, would you just light the fire?
- 27:38I'm going to talk to our guest here.
- 27:39OK, fine. Sir, please.
- 27:44My name is Eleanor Hubble. Good to meet you.
- 27:48Good to meet you, Eleanor. Please, please call me.
- 27:51You're already calling me Eleanor.
- 27:53Yes. You can call me.
- 27:56Yes, good. Good to meet you.
- 27:58Yes, Eleanor, she. Quivers again.
- 28:01So fucking lonely. I too am alone often.
- 28:06Oh. Can you just, I guess, am I just
- 28:09radiating that? Yes, your desperation stinks.
- 28:16I'm here for news of a sighting. A ship may have fallen in these
- 28:22parts. I hear your son.
- 28:27Dragon Adventure. No, no, not my son.
- 28:30Oh, thank God. What kind of name is Dragon
- 28:34Adventure? Well, so The thing is, he named
- 28:36himself, and it was the biggest mistake I've ever made.
- 28:39Yes, yes, yes. This is what I'm saying.
- 28:42Children should not be allowed to have their own
- 28:43responsibilities. How?
- 28:45How does one child come upon the name Dragon Adventure?
- 28:50Well, so here's the thing, he's been orphaned since a young
- 28:53child. I don't even know where the poor
- 28:54boy came from. I just found him plopped here
- 28:57one day and I don't know he just I guess he was a baby and I felt
- 29:02sorry for him. But when he grew up and I said
- 29:05I've been calling you boy for so long, I maybe you should have a
- 29:09name. It was a mistake.
- 29:10I should have stuck with boy. Yes.
- 29:12Should have stuck with boy. Although I do understand that
- 29:15every child deserves the home. Anyways, I let him name himself.
- 29:18That's the problem. And you've been seeing the
- 29:20dragon, or I guess there's a dragon on the leg.
- 29:22He says. Don't believe a word he says.
- 29:24He's a liar. Dragon on the lake, you say?
- 29:27Yeah, if you ask him, he'd say ship's fall from the sky.
- 29:31Interesting, Eleanor, I am. It was.
- 29:34Actually a large bird. Stupid little kid.
- 29:38You know, Eleanor, I'm finding myself quite parched and quite
- 29:42cold. If you could offer such liquid
- 29:47to warm thyself, it would be much appreciated.
- 29:50Oh yes, she clapped. Dragon.
- 29:52Dragon. No, no, I only trust the hands
- 29:56of. You, Eleanor, to prepare my
- 29:59drink. Dragon.
- 30:01Come keep our. Come, keep our company.
- 30:02Company. Excuse me?
- 30:04I don't normally repeat words. I'm just nervous of that.
- 30:07Are you a wizard? I am.
- 30:11I could tell. And she sprints from the room,
- 30:15she goes to prepare some sort of warm drink for you as you have
- 30:17just dragon adventure. And he looks at you and says,
- 30:21what's a wizard? Oh boy, we will cover that in a
- 30:25later lesson. Today.
- 30:26I must know everything you know about a dragon, a ship, where it
- 30:32might be. I I believe you.
- 30:36He tells you like instantly. I think this is the give me a
- 30:40persuasion check with advantage. We'll see if the numbers agree
- 30:42with me. With advantage Yeah 25.
- 30:48Yeah, that, yeah, you just the way that you say it is space
- 30:51enough for him to unload his imagination, which seems to be
- 30:54grand. Now give me an insight or
- 30:57investigation check to see if you can discern what's going on
- 31:00in between it. Because the story involves
- 31:02Dragons fighting in the sky, and two Dragons clashed and they
- 31:07fought so grandly that they took the ship out of the sky. 11
- 31:11Inside, you're not quite able to discern the truth.
- 31:15Cool. Can I cast the tech Thoughts?
- 31:18Yeah, as a way to I'm hoping re kind of like see.
- 31:23What he had seen, in a way. Like a memory retrieval type?
- 31:26Vibe, he's calling it to the front of his mind, I think even
- 31:29without a save and with that insight, you can see that the
- 31:31Dragons there's, they're kind of fuzzing in and out of out of the
- 31:35memory as he's made them so true as to be real.
- 31:38And there's no ship that seems to be jutting out from the ice
- 31:42in his memory, but there is a single point of wood sticking
- 31:47out of a stretch of ice at bears a scrap of sail that seems to be
- 31:52prismatic in color, as if it's like not made of cloth, but
- 31:57rather made of something ephemeral.
- 32:00But it it whips in the wind like a flag, but is made of rainbow.
- 32:04I imagine as Oz like asks the Dragon adventure what his
- 32:12thoughts are. Dragon Adventure is like, I saw
- 32:15this and I saw this and I saw this and like he's just not
- 32:18listening to that and just detecting thoughts.
- 32:19Seeing the memory. We'll get up mid sentence and
- 32:22description of dragon adventure and say thank you job.
- 32:25I've heard enough and just turned on and leaves I love.
- 32:28The theme I'm just leaving after we got the information.
- 32:32He he like has a smile on his face for a second too long,
- 32:36having not realized that he'd just been used as you leave
- 32:40without a care for this child, a small poor boy named Dragon
- 32:44Adventure. I think as he's walking out the
- 32:47door before he leaves, he turns around with a feeling of
- 32:53camaraderie with this child of also having been an orphan.
- 32:56And just say and remember Dragon Adventure Time equals life.
- 33:06Therefore, waste your time and waste your life, or master your
- 33:11time and master your life, and he'll just shut the door and
- 33:14leave. Wow, as you leave him rocking
- 33:18with those words, I think that smile turns to a look of awe and
- 33:24perhaps less sad, perhaps more. I don't know.
- 33:26You decide, listener, as we cut from there to wherever Soraya
- 33:32Sarian is. Soraya is on a trail.
- 33:38She's headed to a hilltop where she's heard of there being a
- 33:43sacred place where the oracles of Corinth meet and gather.
- 33:49Yes, sacred place. With your check, I think you
- 33:54know that this place is literally not of this world.
- 33:59You somehow feel that in your insight look into what this area
- 34:03might have to offer in terms of seeking out this fallen flying
- 34:06ship. You know to look for signs of
- 34:10things that are not of this world and the trail that you
- 34:12walk upon. You've gotten a little hints and
- 34:15bits of it, but it's more the feel.
- 34:17You can feel the vein of astral ore that runs underneath you
- 34:23indicating that this place may be up here now but was not
- 34:28always. That speaks true to you as you 2
- 34:31feel of this world and not and as you walk amongst the
- 34:36mountains. Give me a perception check or
- 34:38arcana check. 26 Arcana. You hear these not as whispers,
- 34:45but as clear star song, somehow amplified by these mountains.
- 34:51This mountain range is one that acts as a magical resonance.
- 34:56You feel that resonance with the star song that you are hearing
- 35:00as the astroph that you are and as it radiates around these
- 35:04mountains only you hear the Symphony of power gathering here
- 35:08potential in these mountains. In this small tiny town of
- 35:13Feathergale, a place made to be calm amongst a torrent.
- 35:19You feel a torrent building here as you walk into the sacred
- 35:25place, cutting alongside of a steep and sheer cliffside that
- 35:30cuts down snow whipping around you, wind ever present.
- 35:35You suddenly find an alcove and light and flame ahead of you,
- 35:40and as you enter this hidden cavern within the mountains you
- 35:43quickly see smooth stone columns and other planned architecture.
- 35:50But more than anything, as you enter this place is a feeling of
- 35:53rowing inertia and momentum. It starts here, but something is
- 35:59building out there, and I think you even get in Clear Star Song
- 36:04bits of both Time and Wishes interactions, and they're very,
- 36:10very curious to you. I mean, it's a bunch of otters
- 36:13playing cards, Clams, clams, clams, clams.
- 36:16And then some sort of pretentious wizard speaking with
- 36:20an old woman and scraps of conversation with a young boy.
- 36:24But as you step into the sacred place, is there anything else
- 36:26that's going through your mind? Araya on the walk, feeling like
- 36:31she's on the right path, she takes a moment to close her eyes
- 36:35while she walks and put a hand on her heart and and say that
- 36:38out loud this is the right path. And as she gets nearer to The
- 36:43Cave, I'd imagine maybe she's hearing oracles, or not yet.
- 36:47You hear the flowing of water, which is odd, but it's it's
- 36:50echoing out from the cavern. You do not hear conversation
- 36:53amongst people. Soraya hums some of her star
- 36:58songs in the hopes not to startle anyone who she might
- 37:03come upon. As you enter with Star Song,
- 37:07somehow finding resonance with the environment that is chaotic
- 37:11and then suddenly smooth, you ease your entry and immediately
- 37:15feel a response. Give me another arcana or
- 37:18perhaps insight check to feel what is within this responsive
- 37:23song, the natural one. I'm so drawn.
- 37:27I know a natural one is supposed to be critical failure, but I'm
- 37:30so drawn because this is representative of something at
- 37:33play here. Your song is meant for oracles,
- 37:38ones that you would also define insight from.
- 37:42The song that you hear back is hollow.
- 37:46These aren't true oracles. And with a Nat one I will above
- 37:50table tell you as DM the player that I'm giving you correct
- 37:53information. I'm inspired to at that Nat one.
- 37:55It's just it. It's disappointing.
- 37:57It's like unfortunate. It's the worst case scenario.
- 38:00If you're in the situation, what you were drawn by, you realize
- 38:03is the pool between them. What is in their three hags that
- 38:07are pretending to be fates? But the pool holds power the.
- 38:11Pool holds power, the fates do not.
- 38:13OK. You hear?
- 38:15Ah, no, sisters, switch the voice.
- 38:19Welcome. You've come to the sacred pool.
- 38:24I can see that you are also a wise traveller, as we were once,
- 38:31but now others seek us out for answers, for answers, for
- 38:41answers. What?
- 38:43Be your question, child. Hello, I don't mean to interrupt
- 38:51you sisters. I am curious if you've noticed
- 38:57any curious happenings in the sky as of late?
- 39:03Oh, do you mean the odd boy in town he wishes to fly?
- 39:06He won't fly now though, sweetie.
- 39:08He flies, then he flies, then. The only thing that's been
- 39:13flying recently is that. Is that what you mean?
- 39:19While the hags are bickering with each other and Soraya sort
- 39:23of bend down at the pool as if thirsty or looking for a break
- 39:29and attempt to connect with the pool in some way.
- 39:33Give me a performance or deception check.
- 39:36They continue to bicker kind of unwisely so, as if trying to
- 39:39prove their their foresight. They speak of the the young boy
- 39:42in town named all things that you know, like just based on gut
- 39:45instinct. But they are kind of, I think
- 39:48even without a role, they seem like high, as if they're been
- 39:52taking little hits of the pool. And so they have received little
- 39:54bits of divine insight, but they are not built for it and seem to
- 39:59be have driven mad and created a hags coven throughout it.
- 40:03What is that performance check? I rolled A10 OK and as they
- 40:08finish up talking about the ship based on I agree, I say Yep,
- 40:12yes, yes. Tell me, tell me, what do you
- 40:14know? Ah.
- 40:16As you do so, I'm like with an 18, they do notice you as you're
- 40:20trying to be casual. One of them steps between you
- 40:22and says no, no, we have the answers.
- 40:24Not the pool, the ship, you say? Yes, it was in the sky, but it
- 40:30flew far, far away. At least that's what I saw.
- 40:34No, sister, I saw it here. They are conflicting about where
- 40:41and when, and you're unable to get like exact detail from them
- 40:44about where that ship fell. But they confirmed through
- 40:47arguments that it did indeed fall.
- 40:49Amazing, I'm going to cast mage hand to scoop water from an edge
- 40:53of the pool that's not hopefully within their sight.
- 40:57Give me an arcana check and I'll say with advantage due to the
- 41:00fact that you are distracting them by like working them up
- 41:02enough to talk about this. 28 Arcana.
- 41:06With the subtlety of a magician, you point their direction of
- 41:10attention in one spot and take advantage of them and their
- 41:14ignorance in another. I would imagine even the mage
- 41:17hand dips into this pool with more reverence than they have
- 41:21gluttonously drunk of it. And as you dip into the waters,
- 41:27you feel a flash in your mind, as you often do with the Louder
- 41:34of Star songs. This feels like Star Song
- 41:36purified, a similar power, different, but astral and
- 41:42transient somehow. Nonetheless, this pool seems to
- 41:45have power. It wants to move everywhere and
- 41:48cannot, and this magic allows it to be more than just this place.
- 41:53Within that handful of water, you fully divined the ship's
- 41:56location. More than that, you divine the
- 41:59fantasies that have been built around it the the Dragons that
- 42:02young boy dragon adventure imagines, and you see that they
- 42:05are silly but detailed and playful and you appreciate the
- 42:08fantasy there. You also see that other people
- 42:11have built folklore about 3 otters that swim beneath the
- 42:15ship and guarded at all times. At other times it's a salamander
- 42:20and a giant and that one clicks true.
- 42:23It's not the beauty that myth and lore creates.
- 42:26It's not something that you would put in your journal.
- 42:29That mast as it is underneath the ice within the ship.
- 42:34You can feel the presence of a giant and a beast that looks
- 42:39draconic but is a ground dwelling beast.
- 42:42Everyone's made-up stories about this place till they've morphed
- 42:45into a bunch of different legends, but you find the truth
- 42:47through the war. Are the hags still arguing
- 42:50amongst themselves? Yes, it's getting like almost
- 42:53violent as they're starting to slap fight.
- 42:54I sort of stand and bow my head, respecting the sister who got in
- 43:00between me and the pool. I slowly start to back away and
- 43:04Soraya says thank you sisters for the help.
- 43:08I will be sure to tell the town of your incredible capabilities.
- 43:11Oh, don't tell the town. They come to us nonetheless, but
- 43:14if they. I've left.
- 43:15I was just trying to be nice give.
- 43:17Me a give me a stealth check as you leave, OK?
- 43:213020. With The Dirty 20 you're able to
- 43:25time the conversations perfectly to the point where they they
- 43:27don't even consider you as you get out of there.
- 43:30Give me an insight check again with advantage. 30.
- 43:38Buck Wow, you feel fate upon you what 2 Wizards in this valley
- 43:47have just done this Wizard of time and this Wizard of wish for
- 43:52you feel their natures as well, upon the wind and upon the
- 43:55turnings of fate. What they've done to fate will
- 43:59destroy this world. Dragon Adventure That young boy
- 44:02is set on a path where he will become a tyrannical ruler
- 44:06because of the actions of the wizard time.
- 44:09The otters that were inspired will destroy the fur trading
- 44:15profitability of this town. Fighting back and slaughter will
- 44:19be had. And I don't feel there's
- 44:21anything I can do to change this.
- 44:23Being who you are and being in this moment, you feel the power
- 44:26to change that. I do love a side quest.
- 44:31I think we're going to montage through these really quickly.
- 44:34What does it look like as you appear to 1st the otters or
- 44:37dragon adventure? I walk back into town and seek
- 44:41out dragon adventure. You find him pretty easily at
- 44:44the same place that you have felt in your fateful instincts
- 44:47that draw you to places at times.
- 44:49I knock on the door and I imagine he answers and I bend
- 44:52down on one knee. He doesn't come to the door.
- 44:54Eventually he does, but what you find that you find him working
- 44:58feverishly hard, inspired by the words of time, not wanting to
- 45:03waste a single second, and you can see that he will burn
- 45:05himself out into a resentful, hostile person unless you do
- 45:09something. What's he working on?
- 45:11Like sharpening blades for the kitchen.
- 45:14Dearest Dragon, what are you working on?
- 45:17Well, I was I was thinking about becoming an adventurer one day
- 45:21and I really want a sword and mom said I can't.
- 45:24Well, she told me mom this Hubble Ted, I can't have a
- 45:29sword. So I just, I thought I I could
- 45:32maybe get good at the kitchen knives and then once I was good
- 45:35with those I would go find a sword.
- 45:38Anyways, I was just I was cleaning the kitchen.
- 45:40You know what happens when boys your age play with swords?
- 45:44They get hurt. I don't want to see you get
- 45:46hurt. I think Miss Hubble walks in at
- 45:49that point and says get back to sharpening knives, boy.
- 45:53You feel a flash of song in this moment and you see the story
- 45:56written here. This boy is in a in a terrible
- 45:59situation where a woman took him in, does not want him, works
- 46:03into the bone, and he is unable to get himself out of it because
- 46:08he's too young for a life of adventure, which would be the
- 46:10only thing that could get him out of a place like this.
- 46:12Miss Hubble, do you mind if I have a moment with Dragon?
- 46:15Who are you? I'm a wizard and I am looking
- 46:17for information and. You are no wizard.
- 46:21I've met Wizards, dear. Be gone with you.
- 46:24We've had enough today. Can I cast friends on her?
- 46:27Yeah, I do. We have to succeed on a Wisdom
- 46:30saving throw. That is A2 on the die.
- 46:34OK, perfect. So we have a sense of of
- 46:36friendship. I'm, I'm sorry, dear, I just, I
- 46:39saw for a second your cloak's rather dirty.
- 46:43You have you been just out in the nature?
- 46:47Yes, I love my cloak. Thank you.
- 46:49Sorry, I just hadn't assumed a a Wizard of no, that's my we.
- 46:53Shouldn't assume right? Unkind.
- 46:56In harsh times when 1 needs to, like right now.
- 47:00If we don't have those knives clean tomorrow and she kicks
- 47:02Dragon Adventure into the kitchen.
- 47:04If we don't have those, miss. Hubble.
- 47:05Miss Hubble. If you don't mind, I really
- 47:07would love to speak with Dragon. It's important.
- 47:11Earl wizard. I would I would love to do that.
- 47:13And as she goes to the kitchen to and really mess around with
- 47:16knives, you have a young dragon adventure still steaming a
- 47:19little bit, but he's there and listening.
- 47:22I'm going to take out one of my blank notebooks from my cloak
- 47:25and hand it to him with a quill and some other colored clay
- 47:30sticks to make drawing more fun. And I'm going to tell him, well,
- 47:34sometimes it seems like the world is full of adventure.
- 47:39All of the best adventures can happen in our hearts and in our
- 47:44minds. You see a little fire in his
- 47:47eyes, relight. He was just wondering if that
- 47:49was OK, if he should put down all of his silly thoughts and
- 47:52stories and just stop wasting time.
- 47:54I look at him and I say in your heart, if you are a pirate, if
- 48:00you are a wizard, if you are a time traveler, then it is
- 48:06already true. You don't need to adventure out
- 48:10into the world to find adventure.
- 48:13Wait for the right time, the right moment, and adventure will
- 48:17find you. But until then, be strong.
- 48:21I'm sorry, miss, what did you say your name was?
- 48:24I'm just a friend. I imagine in the window you see
- 48:27the clouds clear a little bit as you reflectively see the the
- 48:32doubt clear in this boy's eyes about whether he was wasting his
- 48:36life. And now you give him the
- 48:37permission to imagine a better one and prepare to take that on.
- 48:43You might not have a way out now, but at first he was really
- 48:46resentful of that as soon as that first wizard left.
- 48:49But you give him the permission to dream while also working
- 48:52towards it, rather than being so overwhelmed by the idea that you
- 48:56can't. Is there anything else as you I?
- 48:59Make a swift exit. I've got otters to visit.
- 49:01I think he's both in awe of you, but also wants to pursue his
- 49:04imagination so badly that you're able to slip out between really
- 49:09excited questions about what's it like to be a wizard.
- 49:11You're a Wizard of what? And he is scratching his quill
- 49:15as he hears the door swing. Young dragon adventure.
- 49:18Hopefully we'll find his way out one day.
- 49:21You move on to the otters. What do you do as you approach
- 49:24to to their natural domain? Frantically talking about some
- 49:27bigger Otter that came in, beat them really badly at clams like
- 49:31to an expert degree and then left on ice skates.
- 49:34I think I similarly, and obviously without knowing it, it
- 49:38would probably just appear in the den not knowing how else to
- 49:41make an entrance. So this might be a second
- 49:43startle for them today. It's.
- 49:45Fighter not, no, don't. I know it's scary.
- 49:48I come in peace. As he's a biter's just biting
- 49:52you in wobbles, wobbling in the corner and no.
- 49:54No, I'm not food. Please don't.
- 49:56No thanks. Tommy, you know I'm not going to
- 49:58do this. Please talk to him.
- 49:59Welcome. Friends.
- 50:01You're the second unwelcome visitor.
- 50:03Not unwelcome, no. We otters are very welcoming.
- 50:06I do apologize for the surprise entrance, I didn't know how else
- 50:10to get in. It's a beautiful home you have.
- 50:13Well I guess the front door is a little small for someone so 2
- 50:18footed. I do have two right now.
- 50:21No pause, I see. Nope, just these.
- 50:24She wiggles her hands. You're kind in these parts.
- 50:27They don't like us much. Oh.
- 50:30They don't. They steal our skin.
- 50:32I would never. Are you sure?
- 50:34Give me a persuasion check. 14. Speaking against the trade, even
- 50:39the 12 that they roll, which I think is pretty representative
- 50:42of the skepticism that they show most, that's definitely enough
- 50:45to get on their good side. As they say, well, we can tell
- 50:48that you're not one of the ones that might hurt us, but doesn't
- 50:52mean that you won't use us like that guy did just a second ago.
- 50:56He just came in here and he just, he beat me at clams, stole
- 50:59all my money. You don't even know what money
- 51:01is. But he said a thing about a job
- 51:03and I've just been thinking about it ever since.
- 51:05A job, you say, that seems above your pay grade.
- 51:10And by that I mean we shouldn't worry ourselves with such things
- 51:14as jobs and rules and. Well, for Biter we have a rule.
- 51:20No biting. That's a good rule, Biter,
- 51:22please no biting. But otherwise, as far as I'm
- 51:25concerned, it's your job to just me.
- 51:29You can swim and you can play and you can beat those rude
- 51:33Wizards and more clam games. That is right.
- 51:36That is how it went down. We beat him.
- 51:38I believe it. We beat him.
- 51:39He was a wizard. Yes, a wizard he was.
- 51:43I do apologize. I believe in my heart that he
- 51:47didn't mean to cause harm. We rarely do.
- 51:51He smelt like the elements so we've we trusted him.
- 51:55But yeah, I think he might have just been water in the shape of
- 51:58an Otter. You have my word or.
- 52:00Maybe rocks? No, he was rocks in the shape of
- 52:02an Otter. You have my word friends, if you
- 52:05can do your best to forget the feeling he left you with and
- 52:09carry on with your playful, wonderful, fruitful lives in the
- 52:14water, I will continue fighting for more honesty, more
- 52:21transparency between we earth dwelling creatures and small
- 52:28critters like you. Give me one one more persuasion
- 52:32check and this time with advantage for sure. 18.
- 52:38They seem pacified at your words, very much so, as they
- 52:42say. We hear you, but can we get one
- 52:45last game with the guy? What about a game with me
- 52:48instead? OK.
- 52:50And you plays 5 otters in clams, losing some, winning others and
- 52:56just extending their experience so it's not so hit and run.
- 53:00You allow them to settle back into their nature.
- 53:02They find peace to the point where you feel fate shifting, to
- 53:05a point where, I don't know, give me an arcana check to
- 53:12survive. I rolled a 27. 27 more than
- 53:16enough handles the psychic shock of what are three severe flashes
- 53:22of a future path that is set, which is so rare within fate
- 53:28that so much of the path ahead could be seen and felt as to
- 53:32feel ahead. But not moments, not minutes,
- 53:37but years. Flash a young man, dark hair and
- 53:42glasses. Streaks of white roll along his
- 53:45hair as he tussles it and holds those glasses in one hand, in
- 53:50the other Shields Your hand in your night sky full of stars,
- 53:55pulling you over to some sort of metal cylinder.
- 53:59It's end capped with glass lens of some kind.
- 54:03You look up and consider this flash.
- 54:06In the instant that you have it, the sky is one that would be
- 54:09perfect to go and visit. Instead you find yourself
- 54:13observing it from the ground with this young man.
- 54:17Your hand feels warm. Flash, A young girl holds your
- 54:21hand in the same way, excitedly pulling you over to the very
- 54:25same telescope, only this time it is scratched and warm, but
- 54:29obviously cared for. It has doodles and drawings and
- 54:32crayon along the side. Written in the uncertain script
- 54:36of a child are the words Big ladle, Little ladle Flash.
- 54:43You stand at the door of a home you will come to cherish.
- 54:46It is the dead of night. As your hand rests on the inner
- 54:49latch of your door. You hesitate to leave.
- 54:53You know you wish you could stay.
- 54:56That same young girl, older now, but still much.
- 54:59The child grabs your hand once more as you hesitate.
- 55:05What is this moment like? What does Soraya see in this
- 55:09flash of the future? Cassie catches her in the middle
- 55:12of the night, right before she ever left.
- 55:16Does Soraya comprehend? I can get the feeling that this
- 55:20is going to happen, I think very quickly.
- 55:24She cycles through stages of denial and resistance.
- 55:31You know, it briefly crosses her mind never to let herself fall
- 55:36in love and meet anyone so that she can avoid having these
- 55:40encounters and experiences. But also being wise enough to
- 55:44know that it's written in the stars.
- 55:46I can't, you know, I could pretend that I'm never going to
- 55:50fall in love. You've had this feeling once and
- 55:52it was the knowledge that your home world was going to be
- 55:54destroyed and that was that feeling is what allowed you to
- 55:57leave early enough to survive. Recalling that in the past this
- 56:02these powerful bits of intuition have allowed her to carry on
- 56:08living and find life again, find a home, find goodness.
- 56:16You've loved these years in Atlas.
- 56:19He sort of grins and bears it as she turns this immense feeling
- 56:26of grief into one of hope and acceptance.
- 56:34Just because it is always possible to lose the good things
- 56:38in our life does not mean we shouldn't eek out good things in
- 56:42our life and give ourselves the chance to enjoy people and
- 56:48places and things. They can always be lost and some
- 56:53things can never be replaced, but that doesn't mean we should
- 56:57deny ourselves the the gift of experiencing them so very
- 57:02quickly. She goes from deeply sad to
- 57:07deeply overjoyed that she experiences so much love in the
- 57:13future. And she sort of takes that
- 57:15perspective and lifts her chin and sets out to face the world
- 57:19to find these people who she clearly cared about so, so
- 57:22deeply or will care about so deeply.
- 57:26The last of the flash of that last memory fades as you see
- 57:31yourself in your mind's eye, past magic upon the girl so that
- 57:37this memory might be dulled and that the pain might be not
- 57:42forgotten. But you can't have her know
- 57:45where you go. That is part of this.
- 57:47And even through that you find happiness and worth and value.
- 57:51And I think, I wish I could be as adjusted as that.
- 57:55Because the good that you see ahead, everything out else about
- 58:00this timeline that feels so set by these, these anchored points
- 58:04that you find so solid, It is a beautiful path.
- 58:08It ebbs and whines and weaves in a way that someone who could see
- 58:12fate, I think would be in awe at the beauty of the the tree
- 58:16before them. The the the flower that has
- 58:18grown into the rhythmic and repeating patterns that it has.
- 58:23And you feel your pain have obviously the value enough to be
- 58:29reflected in how powerful that good is that you honor your
- 58:32pain. But you move forward.
- 58:35And I think there is a perfect point to flash a little bit
- 58:38forward to where we find 3 Wizards.
- 58:42All of you I'm sure have different ways of getting there,
- 58:44but all of you feel one another. As soon as you're within a few
- 58:47100 feet, you approach the sunken and crashed flying ship
- 58:53known as the Old Singer, which lies beneath the ice.
- 58:57All three of you Wizards can feel each other as you all
- 58:59approach within 600 feet of what, through arcane or mundane
- 59:04senses you are able to feel is the mast of the Old Singer
- 59:07sticking up and out of the ice. Everything sentences whatever
- 59:11you're perceiving. You cannot see anything else
- 59:13other than that. What you can feel is the
- 59:17presence of two other Wizards. What do you guys do?
- 59:20As again within about 600 feet, you're approaching your
- 59:24destination and you feel the the magical presence of another
- 59:28wizard. Soraya says friend or foe, I
- 59:32want no trouble here. Is there?
- 59:35Can we hear each other? Yeah, the sound travels quite
- 59:37well over the frozen ice. I know you're there.
- 59:42I can't imagine we're all here for different things.
- 59:48I am a friend to some, but I give a side eye that I hope you
- 59:52can feel from where I'm at. I'm imagining us all like equal
- 59:55distance away from this mass, and I'm like, when was the last
- 59:59time any of you had a wizard's race?
- 1:00:02It's been decades. Shall we?
- 1:00:07You just. Yes, I'm just you're laughing
- 1:00:10because you just must not know who I am.
- 1:00:17Shall we use the typical Wizards race rules?
- 1:00:22Go. On Oh, Don't You Know?
- 1:00:25Go on, do not humor me in this way.
- 1:00:29There are no rules that take off.
- 1:00:31Towards towards a ship. Yeah.
- 1:00:34As you, as you do so everyone, give me one a history check 1st
- 1:00:37to see how familiar you guys are with the reputations of one
- 1:00:40another time. Do so with disadvantage.
- 1:00:43Natural one for Soraya, which is funny because if you say I like
- 1:00:49had a sense of their energies. I think yeah.
- 1:00:52Or. Is that just an this?
- 1:00:53Is the first you're hearing of them though.
- 1:00:54OK, the rumors are spread far and wide, but you know, you've
- 1:00:59heard of the Sage of the East and the Spirit of the West, but
- 1:01:02nothing more cool. 18. OK, 14 all told.
- 1:01:07You guys have heard of each other, first of all, time and
- 1:01:10wish. And I think you've also heard of
- 1:01:14this new wizard on the block that's been stirring shit up
- 1:01:17left and right and giving other Wizards bad reputations.
- 1:01:21Apparently what happens when she comes through town is very
- 1:01:26different than what happens when most Wizards come through town,
- 1:01:29which is chaos and magic and sometimes a lot of nice
- 1:01:33helpfulness and a lot of whimsical things, But more than
- 1:01:36anything, chaos and disorder. When luck passes through, that
- 1:01:41does occur, but somehow always for clear skies afterwards.
- 1:01:44And that reputation is built and built and built to the point
- 1:01:47where, just by juxtaposition, other Wizards are starting to
- 1:01:51get a bad rap if she doesn't cause collateral damage.
- 1:01:55But when collateral damage is caused, people have started to
- 1:01:57speak up. The one who has mastered the
- 1:02:00effect of the butterflies. Mustn't we be careful around
- 1:02:05this one? I can hear you care to introduce
- 1:02:09yourselves to me. No.
- 1:02:13Oh good, we're off to a great start then.
- 1:02:15I am Azareza Odd. You may know me as the Spirit of
- 1:02:20the West. Oh, I have heard of legend.
- 1:02:25I may have met you on by chance, but I feel like there might be
- 1:02:29fate more at play here. Seems so.
- 1:02:36And you crabapple. Crabapple.
- 1:02:42What a dreary. Nickname.
- 1:02:44Well, careful. Or it just.
- 1:02:45Might stick. You can call me Oz.
- 1:02:48Yes, my full name is Osbrian Every.
- 1:02:52I've been known as the Wizard of Time.
- 1:02:58Ah, Osbrian. I remember Osbrian.
- 1:03:01Oz for simplicity. Sounds like you'd rather be
- 1:03:04called Oz. Or the Wizard of Time all
- 1:03:08knowing Oracle stage of the East.
- 1:03:11I'll let you choose. All together or?
- 1:03:13Again, the world is your claim. I think the wind may blow
- 1:03:21through this one. What if it goes wrong?
- 1:03:25Why is he holy? The clown, he said.
- 1:03:29The wind may blow through this. Three Wizards break out in in
- 1:03:36laughter. Can you tell none of us have
- 1:03:39ever played like slow, methodical, smart, like trying
- 1:03:44to be quippy? It's instead of like hyper
- 1:03:46bouncing off the wall of chaos, we're like, oh.
- 1:03:49I can, I can. I kind of like that that the
- 1:03:51energy amongst you guys meeting isn't necessarily even like
- 1:03:55hostile. Or no, it's awkward.
- 1:03:57I love. It but it's not defensive right,
- 1:03:59like it's awkward doesn't isn't necessarily.
- 1:04:03But as you guys all kind of set one another off kilter, you can
- 1:04:07kind of feel this mix of energies.
- 1:04:10Actually, everyone give me our kind of checks as you through
- 1:04:12Wizards step within reigned with one another. 31st Survive.
- 1:04:17Oh my God. It's a 12 or AS.
- 1:04:20Cool 24 damn as I think you're thrown off by the fact that your
- 1:04:26breath is really starting to respond, and that doesn't happen
- 1:04:29often. It's rare that your actual core
- 1:04:32being of your breath becomes felt to you because you've known
- 1:04:36it for so long. It's just you.
- 1:04:38You're kind of one with your breath.
- 1:04:40And so similar to how someone who isn't really able to discern
- 1:04:45between emotions, your breath lives within you so much that
- 1:04:49when it gets heightened, it kind of can just feel like, no, I'm
- 1:04:52heightened. This is so heightened that it
- 1:04:54feels different from you. And you're like, Oh my, my
- 1:04:57breath becomes apparent once more.
- 1:04:58And that just kind of puts you magically off guard.
- 1:05:00You're not able to understand the mixing of energies that's
- 1:05:03occurring right now. Kind of imagining when it's
- 1:05:07cold, I typically don't see my breath.
- 1:05:09Yeah, but this time I take an exhale.
- 1:05:11There's mist on the. Absolutely.
- 1:05:15That distracts you enough to be unaware of the fact that your
- 1:05:20energies are feeding and being fed, which is something that
- 1:05:23time sees. Some of your time is slipping
- 1:05:26away. The time that you so
- 1:05:28painstakingly store in interactions like the one that
- 1:05:31you had with the young boy earlier, leaving him frantic and
- 1:05:35hurried yourself all the more patient and filled with
- 1:05:40longevity. You feel your time start to be
- 1:05:42taken, but then inversely, you feel something being given to
- 1:05:46you that immediately replaces it.
- 1:05:48It's not time, but your arcane circuitry kind of immediately
- 1:05:52turns it into that, and you realize that it's something
- 1:05:55coming from one of them, maybe both, You're not quite sure.
- 1:06:00Soraya, you understand something that is taken for granted by
- 1:06:07most spellcasters. There's magic in everything.
- 1:06:13Very fundamentally, it's called aura by spellcasters.
- 1:06:18Plants, grass, rocks, anything would give off its own distinct
- 1:06:22aura. Although people do have their
- 1:06:25own auras, very rarely do they contribute so much so that it
- 1:06:30affects the ecosystem individually.
- 1:06:33It's very rare that someone is a source of such vital aura, vital
- 1:06:38power that they stir the pot and cause a ripple in the pond.
- 1:06:43You 3 seem to have this very very balanced and imbalanced 3
- 1:06:51body system of energies that seem drawn to each other and
- 1:06:55pulled away at parts but in this playful dance that never is
- 1:07:00broken into full disorder but may appear as disorder at times.
- 1:07:05In the end it is a system that will work well and will feed one
- 1:07:09another almost indefinitely. There's not a word for this I
- 1:07:13guess. In the astral plane they call an
- 1:07:17amount of energy that's enough to displace the astral plane, a
- 1:07:20domain. You have that word here to lean
- 1:07:24on as you've heard it referred to as such in the in the astral
- 1:07:27plane. You 3 seem to be creating your
- 1:07:30own domain of energy, and that is largely due to your specific
- 1:07:35mixtures of vital aura. With a 30 I would go into more
- 1:07:39detail, but I think Soraya doesn't need to draw those
- 1:07:42details up. I think you feel it more
- 1:07:44instinctly. These terms aren't necessary for
- 1:07:47this revelation, but the fundamental terms that when you
- 1:07:49think of vital aura are exo, emo and ego beasts.
- 1:07:56All different types of energies, but energies that can be sent
- 1:07:59inward or outward or can be within balance of one another.
- 1:08:03Emo being imbalance, exo being externally out of balance and
- 1:08:08ego being internally out of balance.
- 1:08:11And I feel like we each represent one of those.
- 1:08:15You feel, yeah, you feel yourself constantly pulled off
- 1:08:19center by these two individuals and then somehow brought back
- 1:08:22on. I think it was in that first
- 1:08:25awkwardness and then the left together suddenly.
- 1:08:27Yeah, it's like a click. Yes.
- 1:08:30Experiencing this pariah first, she studies both of these people
- 1:08:36very intensely to make sure that neither of them looks like the
- 1:08:42man in the vision she just had. And having confirmed that, she
- 1:08:47then it sounds like maybe they're chattering amongst, you
- 1:08:50know, as a group. They're chattering.
- 1:08:52And she sort of pulls herself back and her brain quiets and
- 1:08:58she just sort of feels this strange click and wonders why it
- 1:09:04took so long for us to meet. But only for a moment.
- 1:09:08And then she ponders. We must have been meant to meet
- 1:09:13right now, right here. For some reason, that feeling
- 1:09:18gives her both a jolt of excitement and a jolt of fear.
- 1:09:22Knowing that it feels like we were meant to meet.
- 1:09:27This is where we're meeting. This ship is clearly why we're
- 1:09:30meeting. Or three very powerful Wizards.
- 1:09:33Something's about to go down. And with that, I think everyone
- 1:09:38role for perception here, we're going to say DC-18. 7. 27. 13.
- 1:09:47You guys have all closed in to around 120 feet and suddenly
- 1:09:52there's a massive displacement of mist and snow as arrow the
- 1:09:59size of a javelin is headed towards your group.
- 1:10:02Rule for initiative. Oh my.
- 1:10:03God, what? Disadvantage for those that are
- 1:10:06surprised, which is anyone except for Soraya.
- 1:10:09Defense against being surprised. Oh damn.
- 1:10:11Oh, and I think, do you have the alert fee too?
- 1:10:13Yes, I do. Oh my God, nobody's surprised.
- 1:10:16We saw this coming, if you. Why did I even ask for that
- 1:10:19perception? 18 for Soraya. 24 for a time
- 1:10:23sick. OK.
- 1:10:25Same. With the attacker rolling low
- 1:10:28here and you guys just having the time to react as you are
- 1:10:32Wizards, I think it is quite efficiently.
- 1:10:35Soraya, this starts with you noticing it, but it sounds like
- 1:10:38time goes first as I think it is you that allows the other two
- 1:10:43Wizards to realize that a threat is coming.
- 1:10:46How do you think? Do you actually communicate to
- 1:10:48time and wish that something's about to go down?
- 1:10:51It's got to be a wizard telepathy moment where our
- 1:10:53Bluetooth is just connected and I'm feeling something through
- 1:10:57the ice I'd imagine, or like sensing something, and I send
- 1:11:00some of that concern out to them as well.
- 1:11:03Immediately going from silly to serious, I think that spreads
- 1:11:06amongst the group quickly and time that is you first as a
- 1:11:10arrow hurdles through the air at you, but you moved quicker than
- 1:11:12that. Someone has joined our race.
- 1:11:16This is like. Moving that Dragon Ball Z time.
- 1:11:18This is so cool suddenly. So we know it's coming.
- 1:11:21We're not surprised. You do spot a massive frost
- 1:11:25giant standing near the mast and so he's he's hard to spot from
- 1:11:29this distance and with the disruption of the mast at 1st
- 1:11:33and then you see him, but standing with a a large frost
- 1:11:36bow stands a frost giant. I think time is going to blur
- 1:11:40and appear a couple inches to the side as the thing misses
- 1:11:44him. Yeah, it's just like, oh, I'm
- 1:11:47just going to move. Out of the way, you're.
- 1:11:50Going to have so many people going to the eye doctor.
- 1:11:53Eventually the thing will pass me.
- 1:11:55I have seen it. He's going to step out of the
- 1:12:00way of the thing, hold on to his chronal sphere, pull it out of
- 1:12:04his cloak, and he's going to cast slow.
- 1:12:08So I'm going to need the giant to roll a Wisdom save.
- 1:12:14That is a natural one. OK, well that is not enough.
- 1:12:17To beat a Wisdom save of 18. Tell me what slow does.
- 1:12:20So you alter time around you up to six creatures of your choice
- 1:12:24in a 40 foot cube within range. And this is within 120 feet.
- 1:12:27You can do this, yes. Damn.
- 1:12:30So I'm just going to land this right on top of the the guy.
- 1:12:34So cool the arrows like barely left the bow and you cast slow
- 1:12:38upon him. He's like just for good measure.
- 1:12:41Moves out of the way, but it's like you silly creature and just
- 1:12:44cast slow. Cool.
- 1:12:45Effective target speed is halved and it takes -2 penalty to AC
- 1:12:49and Dexterity saving throws, and it can't use reactions on its
- 1:12:52turn. It can use either an action or a
- 1:12:54bonus action, not both. Regardless of the creature's
- 1:12:57abilities or magic items, it can't make more than one melee
- 1:13:01or range attack. During its turn.
- 1:13:02Awesome. Huge.
- 1:13:03If the creature attempts to cast a spell with a casting time of 1
- 1:13:06action, roll AD 20. On an 11 or higher, the spell
- 1:13:09doesn't take effect until the creature's next turn.
- 1:13:11Fucking killer. OK, I'm going to make one more
- 1:13:14roll and there's actually a noted that there was a save back
- 1:13:17here there. Anything else that you want to
- 1:13:19do before we get to wish? He's going to just take the rest
- 1:13:23of his movement forward. Just like if you're going to
- 1:13:26kill me, let me look you in the eye and just keeps moving
- 1:13:29forward. Awesome, so you got 30 feet
- 1:13:32unless you have any bonus action abilities to make it a little
- 1:13:34bit more. Now he's just going to continue
- 1:13:36like. Trudging forward, trudging
- 1:13:39forward as you do want to make it another step feet into about
- 1:13:42a time, one step at a time. You make it up to 90 feet and
- 1:13:46that is going to be wish up next.
- 1:13:48All right, so we see a Archer of some type up on top of the vast.
- 1:13:53Yes, a frost giant, which you know, which you know as an
- 1:13:56elemental yourself in parts that frost giants are resentful of
- 1:14:02being a part of the elemental cycle, they thrash against it
- 1:14:06and you would not be ready to allies, you would be natural
- 1:14:09enemies to a frost giant. Don't worry, I've taken care of
- 1:14:14it. I am going to cast that'll wave.
- 1:14:20I did magical skip through the run.
- 1:14:22I pull out one of my books and I flip open to a page and I close
- 1:14:27it and as I'm closing it, a wave of water is going to come out of
- 1:14:30it and I'm going to. It's got a range of 120 feet.
- 1:14:35I conjure a wave of water that crashes down on an area within
- 1:14:38range. This area can be 30 feet long,
- 1:14:40up to 10 feet wide, and then up to 10 feet tall.
- 1:14:43Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw.
- 1:14:45On a failed save, a creature takes 48 bludgeoning damage and
- 1:14:48it's not grown. OK, that is going to be a couple
- 1:14:51saves over here for me. What's the save?
- 1:14:5420. It's DC 20.
- 1:14:55Yeah, Oh my God. Oh my.
- 1:14:57God, yeah. I don't know.
- 1:14:58Neither of them make it. You actually wash out from the
- 1:15:01ice. It was just camouflage.
- 1:15:04Well, well enough to not be seen.
- 1:15:05But a giant frost salamander that that kind of sits and wraps
- 1:15:09around the frost giant's legs as if like a pet in some way, but
- 1:15:14it is washed away from its camouflage with both of them
- 1:15:18failing. Amazing.
- 1:15:19Yeah. I honestly, now that I'm read
- 1:15:23the spell better, I closed the book and the ice cracks in front
- 1:15:26of me. Water comes up from it in a
- 1:15:28deluge and then falls down on top of them.
- 1:15:30Yes, absolutely. They are thrust into the air by
- 1:15:35a deluge of water and then thrust back down and smash
- 1:15:38against the ice once more. In slow motion.
- 1:15:40In slow motion as you hear Oh I am and then he slows down even
- 1:15:45further. This is soul track get that as
- 1:15:56he is like tries to introduce himself at his and his fearsome
- 1:16:00pets but he cannot. All right, that will be 15
- 1:16:05damage. 15 damage and both of them are not prone and sent away
- 1:16:10from the small amount of cover that they had near the mast.
- 1:16:13Amazing. The water splashes around and
- 1:16:16dissipates, but I think it'd be cool if it froze.
- 1:16:19Yeah, I think it freezes in like a geyser upward on all sides and
- 1:16:23you open up like a little opening above and around the
- 1:16:25mast. I'm going to continue all my
- 1:16:29movement speed forward towards the prone enemies and going to
- 1:16:35take all my movement misty step forward.
- 1:16:37Is misty step from a racial feat or is that another spell slot?
- 1:16:40Because 2024 rules allow to use one spell slot per turn.
- 1:16:45It says use instead of cast. Oh, then perfect.
- 1:16:48Yeah, you're able to misty step with the use of that.
- 1:16:51Cool. Yeah, so I turn into some more
- 1:16:54genie silvery mist and the lamp disappears last.
- 1:16:57And I popped forward 30 feet after running 30 feet.
- 1:17:02So 60 feet forward. Awesome. 60 feet.
- 1:17:04I'm assuming that you didn't have the ability to use Misty
- 1:17:08Step. You see Wish flash forward
- 1:17:11further and faster than you could.
- 1:17:12Even as you are slowing down time itself, Wish moves through
- 1:17:17it and you are passed up in this wizard race.
- 1:17:21Curious. I'm just really tiny hopping
- 1:17:24from snowflake to snowflake. Oh, that's so an Angel on Angel
- 1:17:27on needlepoint or whatever. An Angel on a pin I think is the
- 1:17:31Terry Pratchett line. Yeah, my misty step.
- 1:17:33I actually just get Ant band size and.
- 1:17:37You make the distance proportionally longer.
- 1:17:39Yeah, but it's fun. I get it.
- 1:17:41That is going to be Next up, the wizard luck.
- 1:17:44Soraya Serbian, that is you. Soraya smirking and she's going
- 1:17:49to cast man if I do a skills check.
- 1:17:55I would allow a free skills check here if you want to ask me
- 1:17:58questions about the the situation.
- 1:17:59Some space opened up around the helm of the ship.
- 1:18:02Totally. And I'd also love to get a read
- 1:18:04on like the vibe of the Frost Giant and the Chameleon or the
- 1:18:08Quizzard. Frost Giant and the salamander.
- 1:18:11Salamander. Yep, but with chameleon like
- 1:18:14camouflage. So good call.
- 1:18:16Yeah, give me give me an insight inside or nature would both
- 1:18:20work. 21. 21 will tell you quite a bit here.
- 1:18:25Your intuition tells you a lot. You see this frost giant and at
- 1:18:29first he seems not necessarily not hostile, but like as if he's
- 1:18:34trying to introduce you to what he seems to be like proud of as
- 1:18:38a pet. And then you look closer at the
- 1:18:41salamander and you see that it is not a natural born
- 1:18:47salamander. He seems to have like like
- 1:18:52genetically modified it by combining it with pieces of
- 1:18:56dragon and pieces of Drake and amphibian other monsters of the
- 1:19:02deep. This thing has been experimented
- 1:19:05on and as you can see that this frost giant might do most of its
- 1:19:09damage to the world out of ignorance.
- 1:19:12It will always be doing damage to the world out of ignorance
- 1:19:15because it's it's chosen a position that grinds against its
- 1:19:18own nature. It is unwilling to accept that,
- 1:19:20and it has taken to messing with nature for its own fun because
- 1:19:25of its own problems. Very interesting.
- 1:19:28OK, Soraya is going to cast synaptic static on this pair.
- 1:19:34Awesome. Cool, you're able to hit both.
- 1:19:36It's a 20 foot sphere, Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:19:38The 120 foot range, yeah. He's like wrapped around the the
- 1:19:41frost giants legs, the frost salamander.
- 1:19:43So Synaptic Static is going to cause psychic energy to erupt at
- 1:19:47a point within range. Each creature in that sphere has
- 1:19:50to make an Intelligence saving throw or take damage on a failed
- 1:19:54save. A target also will have muddled
- 1:19:56thoughts for one minute, and during that time it subtracts
- 1:19:591V6 from all of its attack rolls and ability checks, as well as
- 1:20:03any Constitution saving throws that it needs to take to
- 1:20:06maintain concentration. So.
- 1:20:10That's an intelligent saving throw of 20.
- 1:20:12Wow, three Wizards are no joke. Seriously, you are amazing.
- 1:20:15And I am definitely not going to be making this with a -. 2 to 1
- 1:20:19modifier and a -, 1 to the other.
- 1:20:22Yeah, neither of them are rolling in that 20, so that
- 1:20:23doesn't happen. All right.
- 1:20:25One of them rolled pretty high too.
- 1:20:26So I'm going to roll for damage. 37 damage.
- 1:20:34To each of them. So cool.
- 1:20:35And then there what? What were the other effects?
- 1:20:37Yeah, so it failed to save, so it will have muddled.
- 1:20:40Both of them will have muddled thoughts for a minute, and
- 1:20:42during that minute they will both subtract 1D6 from all
- 1:20:46attack rolls and ability checks, as well as Constitution saving
- 1:20:49throws needed to maintain concentration on a spell.
- 1:20:52They'll make an intelligent saving throughout the end of
- 1:20:54each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
- 1:20:58So if it can never succeed on a 20 Intelligence saving throw.
- 1:21:03I mean, it could succeed with a with a 20 on the die, but
- 1:21:07that's. One on the but I thought you had
- 1:21:08-1. It it, it's still.
- 1:21:12But you it would count 20 on that, yeah.
- 1:21:14I would consider it a critical success regardless.
- 1:21:16Totally you. Can have it.
- 1:21:18Against all odds, but for now, the odds are very much in your
- 1:21:22favor. Is there anything else that you
- 1:21:23want to do here, Cassie, as you take in the situation and change
- 1:21:28it? I'm also very curious what that
- 1:21:29energy looks like as you bring fate to bear upon them.
- 1:21:33Yeah, when you mentioned that this creature, the frosting is
- 1:21:36sort of it's inevitable that it's going to be causing
- 1:21:40destruction and chaos because it's just misinformed or
- 1:21:44misaligned. I thought the psychic energy and
- 1:21:48the psychic damage might sort of just like calm.
- 1:21:52It's desire for that destruction and chaos and almost distract it
- 1:21:56and give it something else to experience and digest instead of
- 1:22:02focusing on outward destruction. It's sort of like battling and
- 1:22:05inward destruction instead, so. You see it like kind of look,
- 1:22:10not necessarily thoughtful, more confused, but it's it's battle
- 1:22:17turns inward and it does the the first self reflection it's ever
- 1:22:20done in its life ever as yeah, it it's just never had the
- 1:22:25opportunity. As Soraya casts it, she says I
- 1:22:30mean you no harm. Like she she's not trying to be
- 1:22:36merciless, but put put us all out of this creature's misery.
- 1:22:40Sort of give. Me a persuasion check.
- 1:22:43You can do so with disadvantage. 11.
- 1:22:48I'm going to roll. Yeah, Unfortunately I don't
- 1:22:51think that there's anything that will get through to this
- 1:22:54creature. However, you do make it stop and
- 1:22:57ponder for a moment and you explore the possibility that it
- 1:22:59could and that it's it's fate seems locked into.
- 1:23:04Totally, I wasn't trying to sway that.
- 1:23:05It was more so just like the flavor of Psorias spell casting
- 1:23:08is is often. I think in a scenario like this
- 1:23:12would what she'd have good intentions that unfortunately
- 1:23:15just have to come out with. I think there is a world where
- 1:23:18this, this monster could feel that on some level, but it's
- 1:23:21unfortunately not in the circumstance as Paul will
- 1:23:25respond as best as he can here. I would also move 30 feet
- 1:23:28forward. Fantastic as Paul is up next,
- 1:23:31moving slowly, trying to get up, but slow mode and fighting this
- 1:23:37internal battle. He stands and is only able to
- 1:23:41let off that one shot that I described at the very start of
- 1:23:45this initiative. So I'm going to say that's going
- 1:23:49to be at at Soraya here because that attack came last.
- 1:23:55That is a natural one on the die.
- 1:23:58That won't quite make it. No it won't and I I only have to
- 1:24:01make one attack because it's slow.
- 1:24:03Yep, only one action or bonus action Napa.
- 1:24:07Cool, you see it's very slowly reaching for another massive
- 1:24:12javelin sized arrow as it makes eyes with you Soraya like kind
- 1:24:16of fluctuating back between this internal battle and just again
- 1:24:20reaching towards hostility because of the confusion founded
- 1:24:23with inside. And that is Next up it's pet at
- 1:24:26its feet, which is going to be soul truck.
- 1:24:29Get them as it tries to move and with Live and Undead race you
- 1:24:37now realize as it is a collection of beans.
- 1:24:41It's also slowed. It is also, Oh no, it's saved
- 1:24:44actually. Against the slow though it seems
- 1:24:46to be slithering through the slow field.
- 1:24:51And with Azerza the Wizard Wish having closed in closest, I
- 1:24:56think that is going to be the target of the Salamander's
- 1:24:59attacks as he closes in. That's going to be a 12 to hit
- 1:25:04for the 1st, 1:28 to hit for the second one.
- 1:25:08One bite and four claw attacks. 4 claw attacks.
- 1:25:11Sorry man. So a 12A28A17-A-17 and an 11.
- 1:25:22Is shield a reaction? Yeah, yeah. +5 to AC still, so
- 1:25:26just a 14 in a desperate haste to win the wizard race.
- 1:25:30I didn't really realize what I was getting myself into and I
- 1:25:33whip up the snow around me and harden it into like a a shield
- 1:25:37as best I can. Great flavor as this thing
- 1:25:40smashes through it and scatter pieces of ice go everywhere as
- 1:25:44you're unable to bring this up quickly enough.
- 1:25:45At first it looked like this thing had been captured by the
- 1:25:47slow spell, but it was just wrapped around the giant's feet
- 1:25:50and it slithers quickly across the ice and slams into you,
- 1:25:54making one massive bite attack which missed importantly, and
- 1:25:59then one other claw attack misses.
- 1:26:00But three claw attacks do land here, so that was.
- 1:26:04Slow. It has that many attacks.
- 1:26:05It wasn't effective. It didn't get slow.
- 1:26:07Yeah, beat the wisdom safe. I rolled Max damage on two of
- 1:26:12those dice and that is going to be all told.
- 1:26:14Let's see 28 damage from tooth and claw as this frost
- 1:26:21salamander with different like or bioengineered pieces added on
- 1:26:25to it snaps into you with the jaws of a dragon as it cuts into
- 1:26:31your flesh. That is 28 damage.
- 1:26:33Yeah, and it's all physical, no elemental damage anything.
- 1:26:36The bite does actually come with some cold damage, but that is
- 1:26:39the one that missed, so no elemental damage here.
- 1:26:42Awesome. OK, yeah, I I think there's a
- 1:26:45moment where I'm holding the shield and it's clawing at it
- 1:26:48and I have a moment like maybe it just needs a pet.
- 1:26:51Like I just, I have a moment of sincerity and cracks to the
- 1:26:55shield that I let it go to give me a, a hug, quote UN quote.
- 1:26:58This rips across my robes. Yeah, and you see, that's the
- 1:27:01moment you realize that this thing is less elemental nature
- 1:27:04and closer to undead as it is time.
- 1:27:06Up next who has not been the quickest of the punch?
- 1:27:10No. Time is going to the wish being
- 1:27:17attacked, so I want to use my 30 feet of movement to get within
- 1:27:2360 feet of wish and the. Salaman, the creature, the
- 1:27:30stainful reptile. And he's going to cast momentary
- 1:27:35stasis. I forced a creature I can see
- 1:27:38within 60 feet to make a con save.
- 1:27:41Save DC is 17. Cool.
- 1:27:44Oh, I have a + 8 here on this con save.
- 1:27:47Girl, I don't. That is what is 9.
- 1:27:51Meets a beats it, meets it. Beats it.
- 1:27:53OK, OK. Oh, no, no.
- 1:27:56Yeah, I can. I can.
- 1:27:57Do it if you want me to. As a reaction, I'm going to use
- 1:28:01chronal shift. Oh cool, make him re roll.
- 1:28:03Make him re roll. OK, cool.
- 1:28:05Yeah, Chronal shift is an ability that you're able to
- 1:28:07respond to AD 20 test and making, I think.
- 1:28:09Time just going to. Go no, there's a natural one on
- 1:28:15the die. All right.
- 1:28:16Stuff as this, Yeah, this thing is frozen in time.
- 1:28:21Tell me what momentary stasis does.
- 1:28:22So on a failed save, the creature is encased in a field
- 1:28:25of sealing magical energy until the end of your next turn, or
- 1:28:29until the creature takes any damage.
- 1:28:31So he's kind of just paused while encased in this way, the
- 1:28:34creature is paralyzed. On a successful save, the
- 1:28:37creature instead has disadvantage on all attack
- 1:28:39rules. This would be so.
- 1:28:40Discombobulating all of this in a row, I would the way I would
- 1:28:44give up. Like the slow, the wave, the
- 1:28:48psychic damage, the pause. I'd be like, Oh my God, it's not
- 1:28:51fucking worth it, He went to. Wizards, I think after he prized
- 1:28:56the the first momentary stasis and then just like no, and then
- 1:29:01makes like chronally shifts him again and then he like stays in
- 1:29:03place and he's like. Wish take care of yourself, this
- 1:29:07one will not bother you anymore. You the the jaws are like frozen
- 1:29:12around your neck as you're like suddenly aware of this thing
- 1:29:16having been frozen in time. Just don't.
- 1:29:18Hit him OK. So I I did take damage.
- 1:29:21Though you did take damage but if time was able to freeze it
- 1:29:24right as you know that you you get these claw attacks and you
- 1:29:27go in for the hug and it just doesn't hurt you after the hug
- 1:29:30and then you realize it's frozen.
- 1:29:32Awesome. I'm like, well, I see we have
- 1:29:37slowly removing my head from I see that.
- 1:29:41OK, I I see that we have all made it to the ship.
- 1:29:46Yes, I don't think we need to kill these creatures.
- 1:29:49We simply need what they are protecting.
- 1:29:52Oh, I'd already forgotten about them.
- 1:29:54Yes, wish that is you up next. Yeah, I am going to look to my
- 1:29:59friends and cast past without a trace.
- 1:30:02Oh. OK, cool your friends.
- 1:30:04Interesting as Wish looks towards these other Wizards,
- 1:30:09Past Without a Trace comes from the Earth's Janossi part of your
- 1:30:13character build. I find that inspiring because
- 1:30:14that is driven by your vision side.
- 1:30:17Have you ever extended your Past Without Trace effect to others
- 1:30:22outside of yourself? That's a good question.
- 1:30:24I think not actually. I think I've used it many times
- 1:30:27for myself and this time I it feels like leaving the door open
- 1:30:32to your home. It feels a little vulnerable at
- 1:30:35first, but I kind of missed into snow and shadow, and there's
- 1:30:39little tendrils that reach out to the Wizards on my sides.
- 1:30:42You bring them temporarily into the cycle, which is taboo for
- 1:30:47most elementals, but it's just temporarily and it's only
- 1:30:50archaeanly so as you give them the ability to hide amongst the
- 1:30:54elements that shift around you now.
- 1:30:56As a bonus action, I'm also going to class blade board just
- 1:30:59in case. I imagine like a almost a
- 1:31:01crystal hardening of Janossi skin.
- 1:31:04Yeah, I think it's a very elemental.
- 1:31:06I do it right before I turn to shadow and mist.
- 1:31:08So I think you see like the ice climb up my legs hits the top of
- 1:31:12my head and it all like kind of shatters into the snow and ice
- 1:31:15and crystal and shadow. So sick.
- 1:31:18And Soraya, that is you up next. I mean, I guess we don't have to
- 1:31:22kill them to just leave them incapacitated, huh?
- 1:31:24True all. Right essentially incapacitated
- 1:31:27the frost salamander, so it's one left.
- 1:31:30I'm going to have to move 30 feet closer to be within 90
- 1:31:33feet. OK.
- 1:31:36I'm going to keep inching forward.
- 1:31:38Sliding across the ice you near this frost giant and it's frozen
- 1:31:42frost salamander. And then can I use thunderstep
- 1:31:46that make the explosion happen near them instead of where I
- 1:31:51leave? Give me an Arcana check to do
- 1:31:53so. We'll say DCDC 20. 23 Arcana.
- 1:31:59Do you want to hit the frost element or just the giant?
- 1:32:01Just the giant. You're, yeah, you're able to use
- 1:32:04Thunderstep in a way as if you you have to like, really hold in
- 1:32:07the energy which wants to be released with the momentum of
- 1:32:10the jump through space, and instead you hold on to it
- 1:32:14tightly. The Arcana check is almost about
- 1:32:16like holding your body together as rampant magical force tears
- 1:32:21through your physical beam and you magically restrain it within
- 1:32:26your spell casting network and you appear in front of the frost
- 1:32:30giant and send a wave of Thunder at him.
- 1:32:34My goal here is to crack the ice.
- 1:32:36As you do so you definitely crack the ice I think.
- 1:32:40Give me a luck check. This is going to be fully raw,
- 1:32:43just whatever the number is on that die.
- 1:32:45Anything below a 10 drops you into the ice.
- 1:32:50OK, it also says each creature within 10 feet of the space I
- 1:32:53left, but in this case landed in has to make a con saving throw
- 1:32:5818 luck check. OK, luck check and that's a save
- 1:33:02on the con saving throw. It's a con saving throw of 20.
- 1:33:06Yes, with a 24 will save against the full damage, but I think
- 1:33:10we'll still take half year from that Thunder step.
- 1:33:14OK, 16 damage. Have to eat damage but you still
- 1:33:17hurt him and I think send him a little bit of a distance away
- 1:33:20with Thunderstep. My goal is to plunge him into
- 1:33:24the ice. Oh OK cool, I will give him a
- 1:33:27luck check as well. The natural 20.
- 1:33:29He slides on the ice and maintains his footing and you
- 1:33:34also do not plunge but you open up a greater hole into the ship
- 1:33:37down below. Give me a perception check as
- 1:33:39you do so. I would love to 13.
- 1:33:44You see a skeleton down below, holding the the ship's wheel at
- 1:33:49the helm of the ship, seated in what looks to be some sort of
- 1:33:53chair is too ordinary a word for it.
- 1:33:56He seems to be seated in some sort of tall backed levitating,
- 1:33:59now that you're looking at it, chair.
- 1:34:02But it's much too magical and grand for that.
- 1:34:04It's more not a throne. I guess on a ship you might call
- 1:34:07it a helm. The skeleton body sits in this
- 1:34:11helm, holding onto the wheel, and you see a almost like the
- 1:34:16flag attached to the mast, waving like a flag but made of
- 1:34:20rainbow. A beard on the skeleton that
- 1:34:23wisps with elemental energies as if waiting to be reawakened.
- 1:34:30OK, to end my turn, Soraya is just going to through like
- 1:34:35wizard senses and how we were probably communicating earlier.
- 1:34:38Just say there's still life left in this ship, We've got to get
- 1:34:42it back up into the sky. Just confirming that I feel of
- 1:34:46the presence of life in the ship.
- 1:34:48Cool as you do. So that is Kwal up next, who is
- 1:34:52still under the effects of the slow spell.
- 1:34:55Jeez. OK, so he will use half his
- 1:34:59movement to stand up from prone and Will, yeah, he's just going
- 1:35:03to go for a bow shot. Affected target speed is halved,
- 1:35:05so he's using all of his movement to stand up.
- 1:35:08I think it actually still he still just use half his movement
- 1:35:10but it's halved and half. So he uses 7 1/2 to stand up and
- 1:35:13he's got 7 feet of movement left.
- 1:35:14But not that it matters, as he will send out one shot of 24 to
- 1:35:19hit at a Arizona. Is it?
- 1:35:21A spell. This is another arrow as he
- 1:35:25raises the gate boat and is able to get the shot off as a javelin
- 1:35:29sized arrow heads your way as Arizona.
- 1:35:32You will hit, but I'm going to use illusory self.
- 1:35:35So you just you see me get struck with the arrow in the
- 1:35:39chest and fall over dead, but then there's another me standing
- 1:35:43behind that one. So sick.
- 1:35:45So do I even? Do I even need to roll damage?
- 1:35:47No. Oh so you OK?
- 1:35:49You just follow up auto auto miss.
- 1:35:51Yeah, it automatically misses. Can't use this feature again for
- 1:35:53a short of long rest but so unless I spend 2 spells.
- 1:35:56This was the attack to do that on.
- 1:35:58So. Cool, I don't know if you were
- 1:36:00thinking about but I'm glad you didn't waste it on the other
- 1:36:02ones. This was 2 D 10 + 6 plus more
- 1:36:05cold damage on top of that just. Just for RPI walk up and I
- 1:36:08pulled the javelin out of. The arrow.
- 1:36:11The arrow out of my chest. It is long enough and large
- 1:36:14enough. You've been looking for a staff?
- 1:36:17Yeah. Perfect.
- 1:36:18Yeah, capped with this insane amount of arcane crystal, as if
- 1:36:22a residue from the spell work. You have this new wizard stuff
- 1:36:26in your hand. Has a little ice on the tip.
- 1:36:28For sure. Next up, Zoltrock the frost
- 1:36:32salamander. But he is frozen in place.
- 1:36:34Does he get a save? It is called momentary stasis.
- 1:36:37The end of your next turn, or until the creature takes any
- 1:36:40damage. OK, cool, so so.
- 1:36:42He's still frozen. Still frozen, as that is.
- 1:36:44Next up time. Oh.
- 1:36:46Great. Oh, this thing is going to
- 1:36:49attack me in a moment. Well, I didn't want to hurt the
- 1:36:52little. Salamander.
- 1:36:55It's an undead zombie salamander.
- 1:36:57You're good to hurt it. OK, so fair.
- 1:37:00So Truso, right, Yeah, I'm going to do spray of cards, which for
- 1:37:06time just look like the shape of a a playing card, but they're
- 1:37:09all just like light and kind of spectrally.
- 1:37:12So he'll just kind of throw. I love that.
- 1:37:16Like darts or something. Kind of hinting at that like
- 1:37:20very humble origins that he now hides with light and magic.
- 1:37:25These are cards at some on some level, but you send them out
- 1:37:28with wizardly finesse. And what's this?
- 1:37:31Like you don't even see his hand, it just kind of comes out
- 1:37:33of his robe like his tarot. Cards.
- 1:37:36No, it just just, Psoriah says. What are those?
- 1:37:41Simply vessels. Terrible.
- 1:37:43Simply vessels so. Good.
- 1:37:46OK, so I'm going to cast that. He needs to make a deck save,
- 1:37:49which he's going to fail. Yes, will fail Otto.
- 1:37:52I will be upper casting that to a fifth level, so he'll be
- 1:37:57hitting 5D-10. Nice 21. 21 hurts badly.
- 1:38:06Damn, that is good stuff, and I believe there's an additional
- 1:38:08effect. Yeah 15 foot Kona spectral cards
- 1:38:11each creature in the area must take deck safety fails I'm.
- 1:38:14Going to say the salamander is also within range to take that
- 1:38:17damage too. And has the blinded condition
- 1:38:19until the end of its next turn. Great, awesome.
- 1:38:21So they are both, they are both blinded and hurt by that.
- 1:38:25And I think it's somehow poetic as you send out little bits of
- 1:38:28light to do damage against this thing.
- 1:38:31I imagine the the community one day, that time will one day
- 1:38:35lead. Of they'll tell stories of me.
- 1:38:39The little bits of light that I leave here and there, that is
- 1:38:42going to be Next up the wizard wish.
- 1:38:44How are they looking? Pretty bad.
- 1:38:45They are officially bloodied and quite near their demise.
- 1:38:49Why hold back all right, as is going to pull out dagger out of
- 1:38:55his robes and flip it in the air.
- 1:38:58Disappear for a second and come back holding the dagger.
- 1:39:02But I'm going to be casting Steel Wing Strike.
- 1:39:04Cool. Or as a weapon used in casting
- 1:39:07and then vanish to strike like the wind chews up to five
- 1:39:10creatures you see within range. Make a Melia spell attack
- 1:39:12against each target. On a hit, a target takes 6010
- 1:39:16force. Damage.
- 1:39:16Awesome. Cool, so I got a roll for an
- 1:39:18attack here. You become the wind, sharp as a
- 1:39:23cutting north wind. It's a Nat 20 + 12.
- 1:39:28Wow, OK. You can pick both of our targets
- 1:39:32too. Oh shit.
- 1:39:35Yeah, that's the dagger's just a component.
- 1:39:37So I like as a distraction. I like, flip it up and they
- 1:39:39disappear. Melee spell tax will also crit,
- 1:39:45so you will be doing double damage with that.
- 1:39:48Dang. OK, that's double damage dice.
- 1:39:51That's. 12D10 damage. Awesome.
- 1:39:54Yeah, against against the the Frost Giant and then we you got
- 1:39:59to roll for hit against the salamander.
- 1:40:01I want it to look like the the illusion of myself fell and I
- 1:40:04was standing there and I just flipped A dagger, disappeared
- 1:40:06for a second and he took 114 damage.
- 1:40:11The Frost Giant is gone. Can I just say that I made him
- 1:40:13disappear? Yeah, you, you fully described
- 1:40:16this as this thing is cannot exist in this world given that
- 1:40:21you've decided it should be gone.
- 1:40:23I think part of my past has been writing the elements and so I
- 1:40:26just slip into the elements. I am moving so fast it seems
- 1:40:29slow and I just push their chest into the ice until they become
- 1:40:32ice and I leave them there. You return them to the cycle so
- 1:40:35that they may be healed for the disruption that they are, and
- 1:40:38you see some amount of corruption dissipate out of this
- 1:40:43elemental nature that you again return to the cycle readily and
- 1:40:48easily done your job. There's a that is going to be
- 1:40:50Next up the Wizard of. Luck.
- 1:40:52Oh, I get to attack the other one.
- 1:40:53Oh. Yes you do.
- 1:40:53God damn it. That's an 18 hit. 18 will hit,
- 1:40:59yes, just barely, but it will. 73 Jesus. 73 is also more than
- 1:41:05enough to end this frost salamander as you in a maelstrom
- 1:41:11of cutting winds, as if you bring the north wind to cut
- 1:41:16through itself. I think.
- 1:41:17I think that's actually what happens.
- 1:41:18You somehow connect to the north wind that sweeps down and back
- 1:41:23up along the continent to fluctuate the temperature across
- 1:41:27the entire world. You ask it for a favor and it
- 1:41:31cuts in and responds to your call just instinctually and ends
- 1:41:36this thing in it's. Made of different parts, right?
- 1:41:38Yeah. Can I just createspace between
- 1:41:40those parts? Yes 100% and a beautiful,
- 1:41:43elegant, strong wind comes and blows them all apart until they
- 1:41:47dissolve into dust and snowflakes and gone.
- 1:41:52And that is initiative y'all. You guys are welcome to take on
- 1:41:57your exploration of the ship as you would.
- 1:41:59Does anybody have anything for Gecko scratch?
- 1:42:02You're not very subtle, are you? Well, no, that was an
- 1:42:09interesting approach. I find the most efficient thing
- 1:42:12sometimes can be the creative solution.
- 1:42:16Very creative. I'll give you that.
- 1:42:19So who won the race? If we say you, will you let it
- 1:42:22go? I mean, who touched the butt?
- 1:42:24I mean the boat. Everyone give me a.
- 1:42:26Perception I Starlight step. As you Starlight step, it is
- 1:42:33Soraya that touches the boat first.
- 1:42:35I was going to Starlight step into the captain's chair where
- 1:42:37the skeleton is. OK, cool. 15 Perception. 14. 17.
- 1:42:4317 is the only one to spot it. 15 spots it as well, but you
- 1:42:48don't spot it quick enough I think to interact.
- 1:42:49But you do see a young boy having prepped up in the midst
- 1:42:54of all of this. Oh my God, my God.
- 1:42:57And his hand is on the ship just as her eyes touches it, and he
- 1:43:02says, so it's a tie. Dragon, you guys.
- 1:43:06Really are Wizards. Go.
- 1:43:07Home. Oh, you know, with a boy.
- 1:43:10You guys, I thought. You guys are no rules, but you
- 1:43:12broke the only rule. You weren't invited, boy.
- 1:43:15For your safety, you you've got to go home.
- 1:43:17Did I do something wrong? There's a gaping hole in the
- 1:43:20ice. Yeah, I thought we were all
- 1:43:22going to go down there and see what's in there.
- 1:43:23I do not accept tagalongs. I could put them in my lamp.
- 1:43:29No, that would be inhumane. I could only imagine the state
- 1:43:32of your lamp. I keep my lamp clean.
- 1:43:36Please, you must be a team of Wizards.
- 1:43:37Will you take me with when you leave?
- 1:43:39Dragon, this is dangerous. Dragon adventure, please.
- 1:43:42Let's give him all his glory. You're right.
- 1:43:48Sorry, was that so nice? You're about respecting names.
- 1:43:52A name. What a funny con.
- 1:43:54You're right. Dragon Adventure.
- 1:43:56Where is your telescope? I mean your mother.
- 1:43:58Well, I don't, I, I have Miss Hubble, but she I don't, I don't
- 1:44:02want to go home. I, I, I was thinking about what
- 1:44:05you 2 said. Looks at time and looks at luck.
- 1:44:08Time kind of stands up like. Yes, you did.
- 1:44:10Looks towards luck. Ever since the stories that keep
- 1:44:14filling my brain, I just have to see them for real and I'm I'm
- 1:44:18never going to see anything if I don't get out of here.
- 1:44:21Will you take me? I don't even have a real name.
- 1:44:25You've chosen your your name once, you can choose a new one.
- 1:44:29I oh Speaking of, don't call me Dragon Adventure anymore.
- 1:44:33I'm a grown up now. I decided when I left.
- 1:44:35Oh yes, that's how time works. This is going to bring our
- 1:44:38hearts Tig. You can call me Drake Venture.
- 1:44:43Oh. Are you sure I can't come with?
- 1:44:47Isn't that count Chance's name? There is.
- 1:44:55Everyone deserves a home they feel safe in.
- 1:44:58I could be your apprentice. I I create a small map with
- 1:45:07magic of the lands or of Atlas. Pool.
- 1:45:11And I hand it to the little Drake and I say there are
- 1:45:16adventures everywhere here. You don't need just one.
- 1:45:20But I, I, I never make it out out of this.
- 1:45:23He's referring to the mountains in the past, he probably
- 1:45:25physically couldn't make it out alone.
- 1:45:27And he looks to you, He says, if I'm ever going to see it, I
- 1:45:31need, I need a way out. You guys are going to fly out of
- 1:45:35here right on the ship. God can't believe I'm going
- 1:45:40soft. I mean.
- 1:45:45I heard the shows we could drop you off along the way.
- 1:45:50Well. Let's see if you like it.
- 1:45:52Me. I snap my fingers and there's a
- 1:45:54door with that appear. The cast dimension door.
- 1:45:55There's a door that appears behind me and the other one's
- 1:45:58down somewhere on the ship. Awesome.
- 1:46:00Yeah, the the water and ice have dispersed enough and the
- 1:46:03buoyancy of the ship has actually brought some of the
- 1:46:05front of the ship up and over the ice in all of the turmoil
- 1:46:09that you guys have caused up. And so there is not necessarily
- 1:46:12dry a open air deck for you guys to doorway through and dimension
- 1:46:18door onto. And I think we'll cut to the
- 1:46:21point where you have brought Drake Adventure onto the show.
- 1:46:25I think he can come along. He's better than better than
- 1:46:27dealing with Mrs. Hubble, I mean.
- 1:46:29He skips the door. Yes, Eleanor was quite boring.
- 1:46:32Oh, boring was your experience. Eleanor.
- 1:46:36She was horrid in mine. Wait, when did you meet her?
- 1:46:40No matter. I like the dimension door, just
- 1:46:46looks like however old the ship is and whatever a door down
- 1:46:50there looks like it just appears in the snowstorm.
- 1:46:52Yeah, so cool. And like he without hesitation,
- 1:46:55which you should definitely hesitate when it like something
- 1:46:57like that happens, but he just goes to the door, I think before
- 1:47:00all of you, just at Soraya's very subtle nod.
- 1:47:04And Soraya's already on the ship.
- 1:47:06Yes. Yeah.
- 1:47:07And so I just offer to time I I hold the door open and say fine.
- 1:47:12Yes, time waits for Nova and I walk through the door.
- 1:47:16Always with the quick one liners.
- 1:47:18So quick and walking through the door, you appear on the deck of
- 1:47:25the ship and I think there's just one last roll here to make,
- 1:47:28which is a roll to reignite the ship that you may not even be
- 1:47:31wanting to do intentionally. But as you all step near this
- 1:47:34bell jamming helm, give me an Arcana check.
- 1:47:37Oh, I don't need to create one. Well, I guess we didn't talk
- 1:47:40well, why we're all here. I was just planning on putting
- 1:47:43the ship in a bottle for my curiosities.
- 1:47:44Oh, no, no, no, no, no. You genies in the obsession with
- 1:47:49putting things in bottles. How else do you store your
- 1:47:52things I. Think the ship has so much life
- 1:47:54left in it? Oh, I I believe so when it flew,
- 1:47:58but I don't think it does now. Oh.
- 1:48:00I have a feeling it does. Are you casting a spell here?
- 1:48:04Well, if I've detected that it already has a spell jamming
- 1:48:06helm. Does, but I would say that
- 1:48:09casting a spell that has anything to do with spell
- 1:48:11jamming would aid in this scenario.
- 1:48:13I would love to cast create spell jamming helm.
- 1:48:16You turn this arcana check into an auto success and this role is
- 1:48:20now about quality. 3 roles here from each of you are kind of
- 1:48:23based that are now going to determine not just if the ship
- 1:48:27comes alive, because it will and it will determine how it comes
- 1:48:31alive. One role from each of us, or
- 1:48:32three roles from each? Of US1 role from each of you, 3
- 1:48:34in total. Any modifier Arcana Oh.
- 1:48:37Oh, spell jamming, whenever will they wish to?
- 1:48:4017 good time 27 for Soraya. 10. I love it.
- 1:48:48Incredibly mid boy we're. Going to check, was it arcana
- 1:48:51Arcana O20? Oh fantastic, with a 1720 and a
- 1:48:5827 and a 27, this ship rises with wonder.
- 1:49:05I think it is slow to start, is the only thing for time cannot
- 1:49:09be rushed, and there's a little bit of between wish and timed
- 1:49:13energies working to better enhance Soraya spell work to
- 1:49:17create the spell jamming helm. There's just a little bit of
- 1:49:20dissonance. Somehow Soraya captures that and
- 1:49:24turns it into resonance and amongst you 3 Eventually that
- 1:49:28dynamic is found between all three of you.
- 1:49:31But at first it's with this really strong push and pull in
- 1:49:34it. At first it doesn't feel
- 1:49:35helpful. Soraya, you tell me what the
- 1:49:38spell casting is like as you create a new helm for this ship
- 1:49:43to be powered by. The first thing that came to my
- 1:49:46mind was the concept of a three legged race, but expanded to
- 1:49:50three people. So it would be a 123A4 legged
- 1:49:54race where each of like maybe Sarai is in the middle with a
- 1:49:57foot tied to lock and a foot tied to Wish, which would be
- 1:50:03obviously very tricky start, but eventually you'd find your
- 1:50:06groove and you could gain some serious momentum.
- 1:50:09Once you're all on the same page.
- 1:50:11And you could do it without talking.
- 1:50:12You could do it without talking. And I think we just we end up
- 1:50:17finding that groove and Soraya says equilibrium.
- 1:50:22Fantastic as as you say equilibrium.
- 1:50:26I think that is a perfect point to end our session as Spellbeard
- 1:50:30comes alive with the ship and says aye this is Spellbeard ship
- 1:50:34and then immediately passes out but his body you see is regained
- 1:50:38as his bulls in nature fills out and you guys whether you want to
- 1:50:44or not start to lift off into the air as this ship is ready to
- 1:50:47soar on its own. Water slowly shifts off the side
- 1:50:54and falls in little rivulets off the deck as you rise, and big
- 1:50:59pieces of ice long caked onto its side start to and fall into
- 1:51:06the ice one by one's making massive splashes as you rise
- 1:51:10into the air and you have an unconscious pirate Lord,
- 1:51:14historically notorious and his ship beneath your feet.
- 1:51:18And a small boy. And a small boy.
- 1:51:20Witnessing it all. Witnessing it all he says wow
- 1:51:23you really are Wizards. This is some crazy wizard shit
- 1:51:26as that is our session. Y'all good stuff.
- 1:51:30One might call it Wiz Biz. When I say what do I say?
- 1:51:34Does as see that there's a gin in front of me?
- 1:51:38Did I know before that? Maybe had hints like
- 1:51:40instinctually. Maybe that's why you were drawn
- 1:51:42here. It hits in hindsight though.
- 1:51:44Just for for flavor we can cut this if we want to.
- 1:51:46I think I run up and say oh brother and I like go down on a
- 1:51:50knee and I accidentally cast reverse gravity to help the
- 1:51:53ship. As you say brother, not brother
- 1:51:55cousin a child of a different noble Gin, but of family none
- 1:51:59the non the less. This is for sure one that you
- 1:52:02will come to know well I'm sure as we will just have to find out
- 1:52:05next time in Part 2 of the potential of luck.

- 1:53:11agent, they've just released the SAT Dice D9500.
- 1:53:14So settle in while I cast a seventh level pod shift spell
- 1:53:17and take a listen. Then we'll be on with our show.
- 1:53:25There's a new dice roller on the market, the SAT Dice.
- 1:53:28We've been hard at work designing a brand new electronic
- 1:53:31dice roller styled as a miniature facsimile of a 90s era
- 1:53:34satellite phone, complete with a functional light up numpad and
- 1:53:37one inch OLED display. We've programmed it to handle
- 1:53:40pretty much any dice rolling you might encounter, such as
- 1:53:42simultaneously rolling multiple. Dice, multiple types of dice,
- 1:53:46positive and negative modifiers, crits and more.
- 1:53:49If you can type it in the SAT, dice can roll it and even save
- 1:53:52it as a preset. AAA batteries are included, so.
- 1:53:55What are you waiting for? Check out the SAT Dice at
- 1:53:57blackflairpod.com or find it on our Etsy.
