- 0:54Speaker 1: It's because it has been so long. It has a
- 0:59Speaker 1: man feel like it's been a minute. I finished up
- 1:02Speaker 1: the Jukebox tour. Yes, I think we did an episode while.
- 1:07Speaker 4: I was on that. Yeah, and yeah, I go out
- 1:11Speaker 4: to the Christmas tour really quick.
- 1:12Speaker 1: And you've been busy too, what.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Were you mas?
- 1:16Speaker 5: I went up north for a week.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Was hanging out full week, right?
- 1:22Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I was working from up there for
- 1:24Speaker 6: most of it, but yeah, just hung out with the family.
- 1:26Speaker 6: It's a dear camp season up there, and it was
- 1:32Speaker 6: extra special this year because it was one of Dad's
- 1:34Speaker 6: favorite times of the year.
- 1:35Speaker 4: So we just had some.
- 1:37Speaker 6: Lovely family time and the niece and nephew came up
- 1:40Speaker 6: and the Northern Lights were out all crazy, which was
- 1:44Speaker 6: all right.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Dude, I guess they were even in the cities here.
- 1:47Speaker 4: We missed it, but I should.
- 1:49Speaker 6: Send you some pictures that I realized now that I
- 1:51Speaker 6: haven't done that. They Yeah, we're doing stuff I'd never
- 1:56Speaker 6: seen them do, and I've seen them a bunch now,
- 1:59Speaker 6: but it was like red to the like with the
- 2:03Speaker 6: naked eye, which never happens.
- 2:05Speaker 5: It was really cool. It was it was wild, so
- 2:08Speaker 5: we got to go see those.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Yeah. Man, we had eat a bunch of food. And
- 2:12Speaker 4: did people get into deer? Is that what they do?
- 2:16Speaker 6: The party got some deer? Yeah, I don't know what
- 2:20Speaker 6: the current count is. I don't hunt.
- 2:22Speaker 4: I just go to hang out.
- 2:24Speaker 5: And I've sort of turned into the camp cook, which
- 2:29Speaker 5: is a.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Job I'm ready for. So it's, uh, it's fun. But yeah,
- 2:33Speaker 4: we did all kinds of crazy stuff and also nothing,
- 2:36Speaker 4: you know, so it was fun.
- 2:37Speaker 5: It was lovely.
- 2:37Speaker 1: You weren't able to eat the deer that fast?
- 2:40Speaker 4: Are you? Oh? Yeah? Did you eat.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Did you get some Venicon?
- 2:44Speaker 4: Then?
- 2:44Speaker 6: Ah, yeah, we had No, we didn't this year. Actually
- 2:48Speaker 6: that is strange. Usually we eat the backstraps the next
- 2:52Speaker 6: day as sort of a treat. But we had only
- 2:56Speaker 6: got before I left. I think they'd only got one deer,
- 3:01Speaker 6: like my brother had only got one year.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Otherwise it was.
- 3:04Speaker 5: Family friends who were in the party that got them.
- 3:06Speaker 4: So gotcha them.
- 3:08Speaker 6: But man, we had a lot of pancakes and feed
- 3:12Speaker 6: a Genie Alfredo. We made one night we do we
- 3:16Speaker 6: do like breakfast sandwiches all the time, and it was great.
- 3:20Speaker 4: It was real good. Love it real real good. Yeah. Yeah,
- 3:25Speaker 4: that's all I've been doing. What have you been doing?
- 3:27Speaker 4: I guess you already said.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Just touring, man, And I've been home for like a
- 3:32Speaker 1: full week, which has been really nice. I went had
- 3:36Speaker 1: a big Minnesota sports weekend where I got to see
- 3:41Speaker 1: our Timberwolves lose in person and our Vikings lose in person.
- 3:47Speaker 4: I didn't realize you went to the Timberwolves game. I
- 3:49Speaker 4: guess I missed that one. Fun, so it's your fault,
- 3:53Speaker 4: I guess.
- 3:53Speaker 1: So, yeah, that was a bummer. It was really cool
- 3:58Speaker 1: because I guess it was the Prince night, so I have.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I have a Prince jersey now, which I'm I'm enjoying.
- 4:07Speaker 4: Them purchasing one. I'm pretty sure, because yeah.
- 4:10Speaker 1: It's the coolest uniform.
- 4:12Speaker 4: But yeah, they.
- 4:14Speaker 1: They just didn't do well at the very end, which
- 4:17Speaker 1: was a bummer.
- 4:18Speaker 5: Yeah, well they were playing Denver.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Denver's amazing.
- 4:20Speaker 1: We just we've only beat teams that are under five hundred,
- 4:25Speaker 1: and we've only lost to teams over five hundred, so
- 4:29Speaker 1: we can't beat good teams. That's fine, really, yeah, I'll
- 4:33Speaker 1: figure it out. But I also went to the theater
- 4:38Speaker 1: just the other morning.
- 4:39Speaker 5: Oh what did you see?
- 4:40Speaker 1: Well, I went to an empty theater because I went
- 4:46Speaker 1: in the morning and it's at the very end of
- 4:48Speaker 1: the theatrical run for one battle after another.
- 4:52Speaker 5: Oh you were able to see it?
- 4:54Speaker 4: Horah?
- 4:54Speaker 1: I was, And I'm really glad that I saw it
- 4:57Speaker 1: in the theater me too.
- 5:00Speaker 4: What did you think?
- 5:01Speaker 1: I really enjoyed it?
- 5:03Speaker 5: Wasn't it great?
- 5:04Speaker 4: I really really loved it.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I had been kind of putting it off because it
- 5:10Speaker 1: was two hours and forty minutes. I could have seen
- 5:12Speaker 1: it on the road, and I was just like, that
- 5:14Speaker 1: would be my whole day up until which is like
- 5:17Speaker 1: and stuff. So it was just like cool, I don't.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Know, and then i'd be home.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I just like, I can't it's three hours, but dude,
- 5:25Speaker 1: it did not feel like it. I was entertained the
- 5:28Speaker 1: entire time. I think it might be my favorite Paul
- 5:34Speaker 1: Thomas Anderson film thus far.
- 5:38Speaker 5: I don't even think it is. I'm pretty certain it is.
- 5:41Speaker 4: So much of his stuff is so dark, and this
- 5:45Speaker 4: one was kind of more of a thriller, really.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Like kind of a siller.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Yeah. It had a real silly thread through it, which
- 5:53Speaker 4: is so fun. Ye, I'm with you, I'm with you.
- 5:57Speaker 4: It was like, because all of his films I can
- 6:00Speaker 4: respect and like really well done.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Probably not going to rewatch ever, Like There will Be
- 6:08Speaker 1: Blood is probably a masterpiece, but I'm not gonna see
- 6:12Speaker 1: it again.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Yeah, where this one.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I feel like I would go back and watch this
- 6:17Speaker 1: because it was just fun and the characters were kind
- 6:19Speaker 1: of goofy and just I I really enjoyed it. So
- 6:23Speaker 1: I'm gushing, but I was very very glad I saw it,
- 6:26Speaker 1: and I would highly recommend it.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Love it. It's going to get some Oscar stuff too.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it's definitely gonna be nominated, Like, but
- 6:35Speaker 1: it's because it's it's that like thriller kind of a movie.
- 6:40Speaker 4: I don't know if it's going to win any like, yeah,
- 6:42Speaker 4: that's fair real awards. You know. Javier Benisio you mean sorry, Yeah,
- 6:51Speaker 4: it was really fun. He was just so funny. He
- 6:53Speaker 4: like was just a charisma bomb. I think, I said, well,
- 6:56Speaker 4: and Leo was so much fun and yeah, kind of
- 7:00Speaker 4: a different character for Leo too, which is kind of
- 7:02Speaker 4: like Regina Hall acted her ass off. She was awesome.
- 7:06Speaker 4: She was awesome in it. Yeah.
- 7:08Speaker 5: I loved her in it a lot.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I could see it being up for some cinematography because
- 7:12Speaker 1: like that kind of ending scene, it was so intense.
- 7:18Speaker 4: Because of how they shot it.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Man, Yeah, I could go on and on. I loved it.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Yeah, so yes, exactly. Yeah, I did love that. That's
- 7:28Speaker 4: a good cable. And Sean Benn was so crazy. Go
- 7:32Speaker 4: check it out.
- 7:33Speaker 5: It's so go watch it, guys, it's real fun.
- 7:35Speaker 1: What was the last movie you watched?
- 7:37Speaker 5: Last movie I watched? Also in the theater, I saw
- 7:39Speaker 5: Springsteen Deliver Me, Deliver.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Me from Nowhere. Easy for me to say, uh, this
- 7:47Speaker 4: is the biopic.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I was excited for it initially and then I didn't
- 7:52Speaker 1: hear great things.
- 7:53Speaker 6: Yeah, and I kind of have like that a little
- 7:56Speaker 6: bit of a lukewarm take on it. I will say
- 7:59Speaker 6: the past things first. Jeremy Allen White is great in it.
- 8:03Speaker 6: Jeremy Strong is really fun in it. Paul olther Hauser
- 8:07Speaker 6: is in it. He's just always a joy. David Crumholtz
- 8:10Speaker 6: is in it, and you know, I like, there's there's
- 8:13Speaker 6: a bunch of fun stuff in it. Also just really fun.
- 8:19Speaker 6: I have now been to that part of New Jersey
- 8:22Speaker 6: with Chanson, Zami and stuff, so it was just fun
- 8:25Speaker 6: to see things. So that was like, Wow, that's really cool.
- 8:29Speaker 4: What is it s Eshbery Park. Yes, that's the second word.
- 8:35Speaker 5: Yeah, this is all it's.
- 8:37Speaker 6: It kind of in a fun way, gets away from
- 8:40Speaker 6: the like it's too wide scoped because it's their whole life,
- 8:43Speaker 6: because it's pretty much only talking about his album Nebraska
- 8:47Speaker 6: when he was coming up with that.
- 8:49Speaker 2: I will say.
- 8:51Speaker 6: Not the most compelling, Like it just didn't feel like
- 8:55Speaker 6: there was a lot going on. Like the acting was good,
- 8:57Speaker 6: the script was just okay. I thought some cool shots
- 9:01Speaker 6: and like the songs and stuff were really fun.
- 9:03Speaker 5: But it just didn't It just didn't hook me. I
- 9:06Speaker 5: had fun, but I just didn't.
- 9:07Speaker 4: Think it was amazing. I guess, so it's kind of
- 9:10Speaker 4: a lukewarm review. But it was a good time.
- 9:13Speaker 6: It just wasn't like, I don't know, I felt like
- 9:16Speaker 6: they were going for like Oscar movie, you know, like amazing,
- 9:20Speaker 6: and it wasn't that for me. I'm not a huge
- 9:23Speaker 6: Springsteen guy though, either, so maybe that is part of
- 9:26Speaker 6: the you know, I know a ton of tunes from
- 9:28Speaker 6: that album, but I don't know, and nothing against him.
- 9:32Speaker 6: It's just like, yeah, he's okay.
- 9:34Speaker 4: He just never was a part of my you know,
- 9:36Speaker 4: life or whatever. So I don't know that.
- 9:38Speaker 6: I feel like that is worse than I want it
- 9:41Speaker 6: to be. But I had a fine time watching it.
- 9:43Speaker 6: I just don't think it's like an amazing film. Okay,
- 9:47Speaker 6: watch it on a plane, you'll have a guy, You'll
- 9:48Speaker 6: have a nice time.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Sure.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I've missed quite a few of those biopics when
- 9:52Speaker 1: it's when I hear that, it's like, okay, I'm like, yeah,
- 9:55Speaker 1: I might just miss it then, but that's okay too.
- 10:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know, it was It was fine. Yeah.
- 10:04Speaker 4: I had some moments, for sure, sure, but yeah, what
- 10:07Speaker 4: have you been to? Stir?
- 10:10Speaker 1: I finished the fifth season of slow Horses. Oh it's
- 10:15Speaker 1: so much fun, man. I feel like I say that
- 10:19Speaker 1: every time. There's only six episodes a season, so it
- 10:22Speaker 1: feels like it goes by so fast.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Yeah. I really need to get on that again.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Yeah, you say that every time.
- 10:28Speaker 4: I know I liked it, but just like I don't
- 10:33Speaker 4: know what.
- 10:34Speaker 1: The thing that I like about it is that I
- 10:37Speaker 1: feel like a lot of those kind of mystery thriller
- 10:39Speaker 1: shows feel like they lull in the middle, and because
- 10:42Speaker 1: this is only six episodes, it's like there's no time.
- 10:45Speaker 4: For that to happen. It's perfect. Yeah that is great.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Well, yeah, Gary Oldman is still amazing. The rest of
- 10:52Speaker 1: the cast is a bunch of fun. They added Nick Muhammad,
- 10:56Speaker 1: who we all know from The ted Lasso.
- 10:58Speaker 4: That's cool.
- 10:59Speaker 1: He played kind of a douchey politician in this season.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Yeah, just a good time. I'm a big fan of
- 11:05Speaker 4: the show. I like that. I like that someday maybe. Yeah.
- 11:11Speaker 4: Lots of stuff, lots stuff to watch, right, I know,
- 11:14Speaker 4: it's crazy, it's crazy. Fants.
- 11:16Speaker 1: What have you been streaming?
- 11:18Speaker 4: I rented The Roses, which I don't think I've talked
- 11:22Speaker 4: about on here yet.
- 11:23Speaker 1: You have not talked about the Roses. Now that's like
- 11:26Speaker 1: war are the Roses? Kind of right?
- 11:28Speaker 6: It is a remake apparently, which I did not know,
- 11:32Speaker 6: which is the Did you know that was Danny DeVito directed.
- 11:35Speaker 1: That back in the day, Yeah, and Michael Douglas and.
- 11:38Speaker 5: I never saw it.
- 11:39Speaker 4: I kind of want to now.
- 11:42Speaker 6: Super dark comedy, very like surreal almost at points. The
- 11:50Speaker 6: cast is like insane. It's Olivia Coleman, Fanaedic Cumberbatch. They're
- 11:57Speaker 6: the main couple of Yeah, okay cool Olivia Coleman and
- 11:59Speaker 6: Ben the cumber Batch of the main couple both absolute
- 12:03Speaker 6: delights as well, all you know, Kate McKinnon, Andy Samberg.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Uh, there's just a ton of people in it.
- 12:09Speaker 5: That Zoe Chow, who's been in a few things I've.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Really liked, Yeah, which I really have enjoyed. They're married.
- 12:18Speaker 6: And then like it's sort of one of those kind
- 12:21Speaker 6: of marriage story e about a complicated relationship that's sort
- 12:26Speaker 6: of going through some hard times. But this is like
- 12:30Speaker 6: the insane side of that.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Where like they're doing crazy things to each other, they
- 12:35Speaker 4: do love each other. It's very weird.
- 12:37Speaker 6: It's uh, it's really something, but it's super super funny,
- 12:41Speaker 6: and I was I was laughing out loud several times
- 12:44Speaker 6: in it really well acted as we would expect from
- 12:47Speaker 6: those folks.
- 12:48Speaker 4: Uh.
- 12:49Speaker 5: I don't know that it's for everyone, because it does
- 12:51Speaker 5: get pretty dark.
- 12:52Speaker 1: You know the original one was Oh it.
- 12:55Speaker 6: Was okay, Well that makes that makes total sense then,
- 12:59Speaker 6: But if if you're a okay with that brand of humor.
- 13:01Speaker 5: I really had a good time with it, and I
- 13:03Speaker 5: like that style, so it was fun.
- 13:05Speaker 6: I definitely recommend seeing it. It's not like the best
- 13:08Speaker 6: movie you're ever going to see, but it's it's pretty
- 13:10Speaker 6: fun and just to get to see these great actors
- 13:13Speaker 6: go crazy, it is pretty fun.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Nice. So I liked it. Check it out, chick it out.

- 14:20Speaker 5: Harder category than I thought.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I spent so much time on that this morning, so
- 14:27Speaker 1: much more so easy so did I and I was like, oh, what.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Does that that we spent time on it?
- 14:35Speaker 1: I spent Jesus like the fact that we have to
- 14:38Speaker 1: do twenty. I was like, I hit twenty on the
- 14:41Speaker 1: dot and I'm like, I'm done.
- 14:44Speaker 4: I'm done.
- 14:45Speaker 5: I've spending this much time. Stretchy, but I'm like, for sure,
- 14:49Speaker 5: let everyone go here to the.
- 14:52Speaker 4: Yeah, good deal, glad.
- 14:54Speaker 5: I was like, oh, this will be a breeze. And
- 14:56Speaker 5: I was like, Jesus Lord, okay, it was not. I
- 15:00Speaker 5: thought are some great ones.
- 15:02Speaker 4: But anyway, I digress. I'm sorry to trample all over here.
- 15:06Speaker 1: No, that's exactly how I felt.
- 15:10Speaker 5: It'll be wonderful though. But we are here today to
- 15:13Speaker 5: talk about a great little film called ace Ventura When
- 15:17Speaker 5: Nature Calls from nineteen hundred and ninety five. It is
- 15:21Speaker 5: thirty years old, thirty years kind of crazy. Ah, and
- 15:26Speaker 5: we just we got a couple of our just are
- 15:28Speaker 5: just our silliest boys with us here.
- 15:31Speaker 4: They their balls are often showing.
- 15:33Speaker 6: Let's give it up for Benny Ellich and Adam Renegade Wilson.
- 15:38Speaker 7: What's up, guys, Hello, my friend. That was amazing, beautiful, beautiful.
- 15:54Speaker 5: I saw you winding up. I didn't know what it
- 15:56Speaker 5: was gonna be.
- 15:57Speaker 4: That was great. It was worth the way. Thanks, pregnant
- 16:00Speaker 4: of all the pass I loved it days ago, excited
- 16:05Speaker 4: it worked out, It worked out. Yeah.
- 16:08Speaker 5: I can hear the listeners chuckling in their cars or
- 16:12Speaker 5: homes or wherever you listen.
- 16:14Speaker 4: To your favorite podcasts. Yeah, right before I.
- 16:19Speaker 5: Brought you on, I said, these are two guys who
- 16:21Speaker 5: their balls are always showing.
- 16:26Speaker 4: It was pretty good. So they've either they're either in
- 16:29Speaker 4: or they've already shut it off with this. They know
- 16:31Speaker 4: what this is.
- 16:35Speaker 5: Oh boys, it's so nice to see you. Yeah, we
- 16:41Speaker 5: have renegade here, Hi, Renegade. How are you but live
- 16:45Speaker 5: in the dream the d one day time. You are
- 16:50Speaker 5: the dream, my friend, you are the dream.
- 16:52Speaker 4: And Benny il just back too high by my little darlings.
- 16:58Speaker 4: Just so excited to see you. November.
- 17:00Speaker 5: The Vikings are mediocre.
- 17:02Speaker 4: And we're all probably overweight, so we're doing it. We're
- 17:05Speaker 4: doing it. Life's good to be fair. Me being overweight
- 17:09Speaker 4: has nothing to do with the time of year. Truth.
- 17:12Speaker 4: And you can't wear hats, and you can't wear can't
- 17:15Speaker 4: wear hats, that's because my head is so fat.
- 17:19Speaker 5: But you got this great beard going you raise that
- 17:23Speaker 5: barn tomorrow with all your friends. It's gonna look so good.
- 17:26Speaker 6: It really is Amish adjacent and like it looks like
- 17:30Speaker 6: I've really rob and I have talked about this.
- 17:32Speaker 4: It looks like I really purposely manicure this. I do not.
- 17:36Speaker 4: It just doesn't grow there.
- 17:37Speaker 1: It just grows in that perfect line, does it?
- 17:39Speaker 4: Really? It does. Yeah, I've never shaved this part of
- 17:43Speaker 4: my face there.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Wow, I don't know. I don't naar it either.
- 17:48Speaker 4: I just.
- 17:51Speaker 5: Okay, have I seen that bright shade of red on
- 17:59Speaker 5: your face before.
- 18:00Speaker 4: Isn't that fun? It's great? I love it.
- 18:03Speaker 5: It does look very red in this light.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Let's start talking about my dumb beard. Uh, Rob, let's
- 18:08Speaker 4: talk about your beard. How's Kelsey?
- 18:13Speaker 5: I don't know, I feel self conscious, it is.
- 18:19Speaker 4: She's fine. Thank you?
- 18:22Speaker 5: Did you use a ladder to get to the top rope?
- 18:25Speaker 4: Just then? I'm short and have to of course. Thanks
- 18:30Speaker 4: for listening to everyone.
- 18:31Speaker 5: You're wonderful. We want to tell everyone to watch Elsbeth.
- 18:35Speaker 5: There's no segue here, Benny. You're in an episode of
- 18:38Speaker 5: Elsbeth Paramount plus, season three, season three, Paramount Plus. I
- 18:42Speaker 5: think it's episode five, maybe three.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Yeah, watch watch all the seasons though, I shall probably
- 18:50Speaker 4: look that up. And I just completed Bull Durham the
- 18:53Speaker 4: Musical at paper Mill Playhouse. How'd that go? How was lovely?
- 18:58Speaker 4: Lovely time? That's awesome. I saw you were doing some
- 19:01Speaker 4: social media stuff. I was like, cool, Well they got you.
- 19:04Speaker 4: I wasn't I know you? Yes? Yes, It's the only
- 19:08Speaker 4: time I ever see you in anything is when other
- 19:10Speaker 4: people do it for you.
- 19:11Speaker 5: Yeah, Adam correct. These guys Renegade will be like, hey,
- 19:17Speaker 5: I sent you that funny video on Instagram. I was like,
- 19:20Speaker 5: oh yeah, and he's like like two months ago. So
- 19:24Speaker 5: you and I are the same. I'm more of a voyeur,
- 19:29Speaker 5: not really a participator, but you.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Know in so many ways.
- 19:35Speaker 5: Look, I just like I like to get on there.
- 19:37Speaker 5: I like to watch cooking stuff and home free videos
- 19:40Speaker 5: and then.
- 19:40Speaker 4: Good man, I love it. You haven't caught.
- 19:45Speaker 5: I still haven't watched the Edmund Fitzgerald video because oh
- 19:50Speaker 5: it's so good. I was excited and then I was
- 19:53Speaker 5: looking for it.
- 19:54Speaker 4: But what you guys?
- 19:55Speaker 5: You dropped it on the on It's on the YouTube
- 19:58Speaker 5: it is now, but was it? You didn't drop it
- 20:01Speaker 5: till kind of reason, right.
- 20:03Speaker 4: It's been out for a few weeks. There was a
- 20:05Speaker 4: big teas and then out for four years. It's been
- 20:08Speaker 4: out for a while now.
- 20:09Speaker 1: It has been out for a while. It was really good, dude, Honestly,
- 20:13Speaker 1: it's one of the one of our best.
- 20:15Speaker 4: It looks.
- 20:17Speaker 5: I watched all like the trailers in the little Yeah Yeah,
- 20:20Speaker 5: and we did it on the William A.
- 20:21Speaker 4: Irvin up until I know, which was really fun. It
- 20:24Speaker 4: was neat.
- 20:25Speaker 5: Could you could you pop across the parking lot and
- 20:28Speaker 5: get some double Decoroni at Old Chicago. When you were done,
- 20:30Speaker 5: I did not come on.
- 20:32Speaker 4: I didn't, but I did that last time we were updated.
- 20:34Speaker 4: You sure did, and we felt like hell. Afterwards, we
- 20:38Speaker 4: went to the Trampled by Turtle show. They were playing
- 20:41Speaker 4: at Bayfront, like, let's go and do that, and dude,
- 20:44Speaker 4: I was miserable the whole time.
- 20:46Speaker 5: Yeah, well, we ate so much funny.
- 20:50Speaker 4: I was having a nice time with when I filmed.
- 20:52Speaker 5: When I filmed that movie there a few years ago,
- 20:54Speaker 5: that was the first place I went was a little yeah, yeah,
- 20:58Speaker 5: I love that.
- 21:00Speaker 4: It was great.
- 21:00Speaker 5: So enough reminiscing's let's reminisce back to the nineteen nineties.
- 21:07Speaker 6: Yeah, nineteen ninety five. Before someone has to go pee,
- 21:10Speaker 6: let's talk about ace Ventura. When nature calls, wob Well,
- 21:13Speaker 6: you get started with just FROs.
- 21:16Speaker 4: I ain't no if that was a joke about us
- 21:18Speaker 4: being old or when nature calls. It was good at it.
- 21:22Speaker 4: It all worked. It worked.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Legendary pet detective ace Ventura returns for another adventure when
- 21:28Speaker 1: he's coerced out of retirement while on a soul searching
- 21:31Speaker 1: retreat in the Himalayas. He must now retrieve an endangered
- 21:35Speaker 1: white bat from a village located in Africa. The sacred
- 21:38Speaker 1: animal was offered up as a wedding dowry from the
- 21:41Speaker 1: Wachutu Prince to the Wachiti Wachati Wachati Princess. And if
- 21:47Speaker 1: A's can't track down the culprit behind the kidnapping in time,
- 21:52Speaker 1: civil war will break out.
- 21:53Speaker 4: Between the two rival tribes. Nice. Nice, good read nice.
- 21:59Speaker 6: That's more plot than I I would have thought was
- 22:00Speaker 6: in this movie. Well, yeah, that's something. Let's go around
- 22:06Speaker 6: to models and hear what they have to say. Books
- 22:08Speaker 6: have this coming in at ros solid?
- 22:11Speaker 5: Yeah, you guys, you guess forty six? Yeah, I was
- 22:15Speaker 5: going to say fifty two.
- 22:17Speaker 4: It's twenty lower lower, twenty three incre lowest. Do you
- 22:26Speaker 4: think it's to be up there for the lowest? It's close.
- 22:29Speaker 6: Yeah, and it is definitely our biggest gap, I think
- 22:32Speaker 6: because audience members have it all the way up at
- 22:34Speaker 6: seventy two.
- 22:35Speaker 5: That's that's pretty good. But yeah, twenty three from critics,
- 22:40Speaker 5: they didn't get it.
- 22:41Speaker 4: That's a rough. That's a rough one. That's a rough. Four.
- 22:44Speaker 4: But let's hear what we think.
- 22:46Speaker 5: It's time for our hot take, hot take.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Ooh, that's a hot take.
- 22:51Speaker 4: That's a hot take. Spicy. I guano might be spicy
- 22:58Speaker 4: depending on what the bad.
- 23:01Speaker 5: Yeah, true, you're right, you know, because it does depend
- 23:04Speaker 5: on the pat's diet. Yeah, the bat had three chili
- 23:07Speaker 5: cheese burritos for lunch.
- 23:09Speaker 6: Soon, Amen, dude, Amen, I can go first. I watched
- 23:14Speaker 6: this movie a ton when I was a kid, and
- 23:16Speaker 6: I loved it a lot. Yes, it is not as
- 23:20Speaker 6: good as the original, but it does have just so
- 23:23Speaker 6: many funny parts. I think like watching it this time,
- 23:27Speaker 6: I was like, man, it's like, I mean, this character
- 23:32Speaker 6: was already goofy in the first one, but it's like,
- 23:35Speaker 6: while he was meditating with these monks, he was also
- 23:38Speaker 6: just sniffing glue the whole time. Because he is nuts
- 23:41Speaker 6: in this remake, which is really really fun. Let's just
- 23:45Speaker 6: get it out of the way early. The doesn't age
- 23:48Speaker 6: great with the native tribes and the African folks. That's
- 23:52Speaker 6: pretty rough at points. He's a big dumb idiot, So
- 23:56Speaker 6: there's that. I don't know, the parts of that are
- 23:59Speaker 6: not right great. I liked the take of him like
- 24:05Speaker 6: that's the one animal he doesn't love because he thinks
- 24:08Speaker 6: they're yuckie.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I thought I thought that was fun too.
- 24:10Speaker 5: Dude, what's kind of the It's kind of the Indiana
- 24:12Speaker 5: Jones thing. You know, he's not scared of anything except snakes.
- 24:15Speaker 4: Like there's some trivia. He didn't like that. Jim Carrey
- 24:19Speaker 4: did not like he thought that was super animals and yeah,
- 24:23Speaker 4: he thought that was very cheap. But I thought it
- 24:25Speaker 4: was kind of a fun mcguffin.
- 24:26Speaker 5: I thought it is just one random thing that he
- 24:30Speaker 5: doesn't Yeah, I like that.
- 24:32Speaker 4: It's it's not the.
- 24:34Speaker 6: Largest plot hole in this movie. But yeah, I just
- 24:38Speaker 6: I thought this movie was super funny. It contains one
- 24:42Speaker 6: scene that I know, we'll talk about a bunch that's
- 24:44Speaker 6: so much maybe the funniest scene of all times.
- 24:47Speaker 4: Like that's why we have our top five drives Renegade.
- 24:49Speaker 5: I figured we would spend about fifty minutes on that
- 24:52Speaker 5: scene and then whatever the time we had left, we
- 24:54Speaker 5: would just hit the rest of the movie.
- 24:56Speaker 4: That is literally the only reason why we're doing this movie,
- 24:59Speaker 4: because that.
- 25:02Speaker 5: The same scene happened sooner and I was like, this
- 25:05Speaker 5: is the right movie, right, because it's later than I thought. Anyway, Uh,
- 25:10Speaker 5: there are still a bunch of stuff in this that's
- 25:11Speaker 5: really fun. Jim Kay's a great comedic You know, like,
- 25:14Speaker 5: especially his physical comedy is so great.
- 25:18Speaker 4: Uh, it's just it's just really funny and it's fun.
- 25:21Speaker 4: I think the first one is a better movie, but
- 25:24Speaker 4: I don't think that's like a crazy thing to say.
- 25:26Speaker 5: I had a great time my hot take though hot
- 25:30Speaker 5: take out of all of cinema, this takes second place
- 25:34Speaker 5: for me. It's my second second favorite movie to end
- 25:37Speaker 5: with a bad guy fornicating with a gorilla. So that's
- 25:40Speaker 5: something nice second face, Like my first favorite Rob is
- 25:45Speaker 5: trading places.
- 25:48Speaker 4: I was like, I know what this is.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Yes, dude, I thought the exact same thing. We have,
- 25:54Speaker 1: like an identical hot take.
- 25:56Speaker 4: It's like a word for word. I don't even just
- 26:00Speaker 4: say anything. The only the thing about the gorilla, did
- 26:04Speaker 4: you that was? I didn't. I didn't say the thing
- 26:05Speaker 4: I did think the thing we thought for sure think it.
- 26:10Speaker 4: I didn't. That's really good.
- 26:13Speaker 1: I will just mention it's written and directed by Steve
- 26:16Speaker 1: Odakirk and I did not know that. If you aren't
- 26:19Speaker 1: familiar with him, he's the guy in Kung Pao Entered
- 26:23Speaker 1: the Fist. He wrote, directed and was the main guy.
- 26:27Speaker 1: And that who that's the guy who directed this movie.
- 26:31Speaker 4: Then that movie, watch movie.
- 26:34Speaker 1: No, No, he hasn't done hasn't done a lot.
- 26:37Speaker 4: Okay, sorry, I think the first one did a bunch
- 26:41Speaker 4: of movies. He wrote, Bruce Almighty, this guy liked Bruce did.
- 26:48Speaker 4: He's one of the writers on it.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Because Tom Shady act directed Bruce Almighty's Yeah sorry, I didn't.
- 26:58Speaker 4: Sorry pretty much.
- 27:00Speaker 1: The only thing I wrote was that I thought it
- 27:02Speaker 1: was fun that we got Ace in Africa so he
- 27:04Speaker 1: can be with like a whole different group of animals
- 27:06Speaker 1: like stents and hippos and of course rhinos. But yeah, otherwise,
- 27:13Speaker 1: the exact same take.
- 27:14Speaker 4: It's really it's it.
- 27:16Speaker 1: It was a goofy comedy sequel. I didn't find it
- 27:19Speaker 1: as compelling of a story as the first one, but
- 27:22Speaker 1: has some of my favorite bits of all time and
- 27:25Speaker 1: one liners. And I'm really glad that this movie was made.
- 27:29Speaker 5: Hell yeah, same hot take?
- 27:31Speaker 4: Hot what do you guys?
- 27:34Speaker 5: Who wants to go first?
- 27:37Speaker 4: I can go. I was trying to think of a
- 27:40Speaker 4: hot take that, you know, not involved the rhino, so
- 27:44Speaker 4: it took me a minute. My hot take is this
- 27:49Speaker 4: is the second best money grabbing sequel ever made behind
- 27:56Speaker 4: Home Alone two. Okay, and I mean that as a complement. Okay,
- 28:01Speaker 4: because it's very hard to write, produce film, and releaseless
- 28:08Speaker 4: a movie features. This is so close to my hot
- 28:11Speaker 4: take too, Like this is it's like twenty one months
- 28:17Speaker 4: after the release of ACE one and ACE two.
- 28:20Speaker 5: Okay really wow?
- 28:22Speaker 4: Yeah, ninety three ninety five crazy and obviously is one
- 28:28Speaker 4: hundred percent due to Jim Carrey. And if it's not
- 28:32Speaker 4: for him, this is teen Wolf two. Love that off
- 28:37Speaker 4: of Bateman's ass. I love that so much.
- 28:41Speaker 1: And our next episode is on teen Wolf, which.
- 28:45Speaker 4: One, well yeah, and then future obviously right, obviously way
- 28:49Speaker 4: in the future, that'll be your last episode. But but no,
- 28:53Speaker 4: I'll just say that it's not nearly as good as
- 28:55Speaker 4: the first, but it's probably more quotable for sure. Agreed
- 28:59Speaker 4: for sure read I mean yeah, probably certain one for sure.
- 29:10Speaker 5: That yeah, I mean, that's funny because obviously to what
- 29:15Speaker 5: yuzad mute same these, I mean, I as we know
- 29:19Speaker 5: from the we all did the first ACE pod, I
- 29:21Speaker 5: was obsessed with Ace Ventura, which is an insane movie
- 29:26Speaker 5: and probably shouldn't have existed, and with any other actor,
- 29:31Speaker 5: who knows what that would have become. But my my
- 29:34Speaker 5: hot take was along the same was this is a
- 29:38Speaker 5: perfect sequel, and I don't like, I don't think it's
- 29:44Speaker 5: like a great movie and certainly not better than the first.
- 29:47Speaker 5: But I was just thinking of sequels in general, because
- 29:50Speaker 5: we make sequels basically for to either either the movie
- 29:54Speaker 5: is set up for a sequel, and that's kind of
- 29:57Speaker 5: the plan, and it's like build in, and it kind
- 30:00Speaker 5: of makes sense. Poor it's this movie did so well
- 30:06Speaker 5: that the studios like, we have to make another one
- 30:09Speaker 5: because this and this, this is the all time, Like
- 30:14Speaker 5: I'm sure the studio is like, okay, and then it
- 30:17Speaker 5: just did what it did and then Jim.
- 30:20Speaker 4: Carrey obviously.
- 30:22Speaker 5: Annihilated the box office for that whole two years and
- 30:27Speaker 5: they were like, well go, which actually, to your point, Robbie,
- 30:30Speaker 5: kind of is surprising to me that they couldn't get
- 30:32Speaker 5: like a better director, right, or that shady Act didn't
- 30:35Speaker 5: come back.
- 30:36Speaker 4: I don't know if we'll get it. I don't know
- 30:38Speaker 4: if we're gonna do it with Trivia, But I think
- 30:41Speaker 4: this was Jim Carrey picked.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Him right, he did, but another ahead left. He left
- 30:48Speaker 1: to go and do Celtic.
- 30:49Speaker 4: Pride, which was kind of funny. Dan Aykroyd exactly, but yeah,
- 30:57Speaker 4: but yeah, so the sequel thing. You know, I think
- 31:01Speaker 4: it's such a strange balance of we wanna, we want
- 31:06Speaker 4: to we want to repeat the things that made the
- 31:08Speaker 4: first one good, but we also need to make it
- 31:11Speaker 4: different enough that we're not just doing the same thing
- 31:13Speaker 4: over again. And I think it's such a tricky line
- 31:17Speaker 4: to walk, you know, when I think of things like
- 31:20Speaker 4: Ghostbusters to uh, you know, Matrix obviously, uh, Weekend at
- 31:30Speaker 4: Bernie's too.
- 31:34Speaker 5: You know, it's like, you know, when when they're just like,
- 31:39Speaker 5: we have to do this because of it was crazy
- 31:43Speaker 5: D two, D two two. Anchorman two, I think is
- 31:48Speaker 5: a good example. That's a tough one, but see Anchorman
- 31:52Speaker 5: two's I feel I feel, I feel like Anchorman two
- 31:55Speaker 5: for me is just like this one where I actually
- 31:58Speaker 5: think I don't think the movies perfect by any means,
- 32:01Speaker 5: but I actually think it's a fun sequel. I feel
- 32:04Speaker 5: like they found a good story that's kind of like
- 32:07Speaker 5: the first one, but it's different enough. But we repeat
- 32:11Speaker 5: some We repeat a lot of the same stuff I
- 32:14Speaker 5: wrote down. He's been sure too. I don't know if
- 32:18Speaker 5: this is the time to do this, but the repeat jokes.
- 32:22Speaker 5: He does sunflower seeds again, he does a crazy parking
- 32:27Speaker 5: thing like a glove. He does the bad guys, a
- 32:31Speaker 5: rich guy who's like a crazy animal collector. He does
- 32:35Speaker 5: the fast, he does the and he does the rewind.
- 32:42Speaker 5: He does another William Shatner reference. He does butt talking, Yep,
- 32:48Speaker 5: lend me your ears. There's probably more, but those are
- 32:52Speaker 5: the ones I clocked.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Hungry fella he does that again.
- 32:57Speaker 4: He definitely says, So.
- 32:59Speaker 5: You know, I guess my hot take is it's not
- 33:01Speaker 5: like the greatest movie, but I do think it's I
- 33:04Speaker 5: think it's very difficult to make these forced to gates
- 33:07Speaker 5: point money grabs sequels because it's like they're not necessary.
- 33:13Speaker 4: But it's kind of it's always kind of interesting on
- 33:15Speaker 4: the timing of sequels, you know, like it's like there's
- 33:20Speaker 4: the ones like this where it's like we we hit
- 33:23Speaker 4: something and we need to get this out immediately and
- 33:26Speaker 4: keep it going, and then there's like Top Gun Maverick
- 33:29Speaker 4: right where it's like that's the opposite.
- 33:37Speaker 5: But I think I think it works in their favor
- 33:40Speaker 5: to do it this way or Home Alone's way, because
- 33:42Speaker 5: it's like, you know, when this came out, I assume
- 33:45Speaker 5: we were all I was still watching nasevon.
- 33:48Speaker 4: Sura absolutely all the time. And home alone. It's like,
- 33:52Speaker 4: we need to do this now while he's a kid.
- 33:54Speaker 4: Oh yeah, no kidding, not doing things where they're they're
- 33:59Speaker 4: all forty year old. So yeah, I guess that's just
- 34:03Speaker 4: my hot take is kind of sequels in general. Yeah
- 34:06Speaker 4: like that.
- 34:07Speaker 1: And I remember I saw Tom shady Ek was doing
- 34:10Speaker 1: The Nutty Professor, which ended up having a really good
- 34:13Speaker 1: sequel as well.
- 34:14Speaker 4: Yeah. I like that.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I think it was just the clumps. Yeah, but anyway,
- 34:25Speaker 1: hot take hot hot to take, too hot for pods.
- 34:32Speaker 4: This next one probably isn't real, uh, a crazy hot take.
- 34:37Speaker 4: But let's go to favorite acting performance. The dude. Dude.
- 34:42Speaker 4: I'm the dude, So that's what you call me, you
- 34:45Speaker 4: know that, or his dude or duder or you know,
- 34:51Speaker 4: eldud a reno if you're not into the whole brevity
- 34:54Speaker 4: things pretty easy. Yeah, I mean, like I'll go first
- 34:58Speaker 4: because James James Carrie is James. All I'll say about
- 35:03Speaker 4: him is like, it's it's just he's just a true
- 35:07Speaker 4: bona fide box office movie star. Yeah, and and he
- 35:12Speaker 4: just comes out of the gate and just crushes the
- 35:15Speaker 4: whole nineties and yeah, I mean it's just something you
- 35:19Speaker 4: don't really see anymore. It's oppressive and just what It's
- 35:24Speaker 4: just wild that just one person could just drive a
- 35:28Speaker 4: whole force like that. It's oppressive, Like yeah.
- 35:32Speaker 5: Dude, Yeah, his his IMDb run from like ninety four
- 35:36Speaker 5: till two thousand is pretty bananas. He was working so
- 35:41Speaker 5: much and also like he blew up, Like I feel
- 35:44Speaker 5: like his only real comp would be like Robin Williams. Yeah,
- 35:50Speaker 5: even like a director standpoint, just like John Hughes in
- 35:55Speaker 5: the like yes, late eighties, early nineties he had a
- 35:58Speaker 5: run that was insane into but I meant more. I
- 36:01Speaker 5: meant more, well, yes, I meant more.
- 36:03Speaker 4: Just as a performer. Yeah, he's such a he's such
- 36:08Speaker 4: a force of nature.
- 36:12Speaker 5: Yeah, just you know, like when we did Liar, Liar,
- 36:15Speaker 5: we were talking about like who else could have even
- 36:18Speaker 5: everything he does? You try to imagine anyone else doing it,
- 36:21Speaker 5: and it's like what would would a manure even be
- 36:25Speaker 5: a thing? I don't even know, Like maybe it could
- 36:28Speaker 5: have been something fun and cute or something.
- 36:30Speaker 4: But I don't know that just one of one.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Yeah, his physical comedy is just like it's probably the
- 36:39Speaker 1: best ever, but wild ever.
- 36:42Speaker 5: And this this character, it makes no sense.
- 36:46Speaker 4: No, his choices made no sense, But it's it's his
- 36:50Speaker 4: commitment to the bid is unmatched for and D Sherlock
- 36:56Speaker 4: Holmes or something and wrote that down.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Sherlock Holmes is he's he's a really wild Sherlock Holmes.
- 37:06Speaker 4: Yeah. I love that. I love that. I feel the
- 37:10Speaker 4: same way. Yeah, are we all picking him? I assume
- 37:13Speaker 4: we are.
- 37:14Speaker 5: I mean, of course, no one else anything like, at
- 37:19Speaker 5: least in the like, no one else does anything.
- 37:23Speaker 4: Courtney cox And is like somewhat Collee some action.
- 37:27Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like Sophie what's her name is good in this,
- 37:32Speaker 5: but she doesn't have anything to do three scenes.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Well, hey let's go, let's go to the two JH.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Now we got some real stuff here to talk about.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Hey, that's what this guy's good. I did the character
- 37:50Speaker 4: actor trifecta Ian McNeice. He's got one hundred and fifty
- 37:56Speaker 4: two I NDB credits. That's incredible, one hundred and fifty
- 38:01Speaker 4: four and one hundred and forty three. He's a stage
- 38:07Speaker 4: actor as well. He was he was og uh sorry
- 38:11Speaker 4: o g uh uh avida on Broadway. He played Sweeney
- 38:20Speaker 4: Todd after Lenn Carew always he's got a big voice.
- 38:25Speaker 4: He was real, of.
- 38:26Speaker 5: Course, to everyone he's the scariest villain in shosh Ank
- 38:31Speaker 5: of all time.
- 38:31Speaker 1: But of course, yeah, and yes, Simon Callo I'd seen
- 38:36Speaker 1: in a lot of things I picture him in, like
- 38:38Speaker 1: Shakespeare in Love and yeah, but Ian McNeice, I felt
- 38:43Speaker 1: like I did not see him very much.
- 38:46Speaker 4: No, I was on his and I hadn't seen the
- 38:50Speaker 4: one hundred and fifty two credits though.
- 38:51Speaker 1: That's impressive, though, I mean that's a lot.
- 38:54Speaker 5: I feel like he's a big like BBC guy, And yeah,
- 38:57Speaker 5: he had a run on Doctor.
- 38:58Speaker 4: Who that I remember was an episode of Game of Thrones. Nice. Nice,
- 39:06Speaker 4: So you went with those three folks, that's cheat getting
- 39:10Speaker 4: the trifecta. I love that. I love it.
- 39:21Speaker 5: I mean I guess, I mean I would go with
- 39:25Speaker 5: Sophie Oo. She's Oscar for Hotel Rwanda and she's unreal
- 39:34Speaker 5: in that movie.
- 39:38Speaker 4: And what else do I know her? She didn't get
- 39:39Speaker 4: a ton she's Yeah, she's done a bunch of I.
- 39:41Speaker 5: Mean, she's done a ton of stuff, like she's great,
- 39:45Speaker 5: Like she's done some TV too, Yeah, a lot of TV. Sorry,
- 39:51Speaker 5: I'm looking, I'm trying to remember what else I knew
- 39:53Speaker 5: her from. But yeah, I mean again, she has nothing
- 39:57Speaker 5: to do in this movie. Uh yeah, yeah, it's that's
- 40:01Speaker 5: a rock.
- 40:04Speaker 4: I was a big Tommy Davidson fan, so I.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Thought Tommy Davidson was so funny back in the day,
- 40:11Speaker 1: especially on a Living Color.
- 40:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:13Speaker 5: Actually, no, that's you're right. He Actually he was great
- 40:16Speaker 5: her Life of Bees.
- 40:17Speaker 4: She was in that movie. Yeah. Oh yeah, So I'll
- 40:22Speaker 4: give it to Sophie because she's an OSCAR nominated nice.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I was excited about Tommy Davidson that hope. That
- 40:31Speaker 1: stuff probably isn't great though, right, but I did find
- 40:36Speaker 1: it funny.
- 40:37Speaker 4: At the time.
- 40:40Speaker 1: I also wanted to give a shout out dude, the
- 40:41Speaker 1: guy that played the monk. His name is Ursineo Sonny
- 40:45Speaker 1: true dad.
- 40:46Speaker 4: So funny, really funny. I loved that so much. You're
- 40:55Speaker 4: not mine a lifetime. I didn't talk you years. I
- 41:00Speaker 4: do love the concept that people kind of just hate great. Yes,
- 41:06Speaker 4: people really love him or they just hate him so much.
- 41:09Speaker 6: There's probably a lot of animal droppings around him with
- 41:12Speaker 6: all those animals, you know, yeah, animals.
- 41:16Speaker 4: Yep, for sure. What did you what did you pick?
- 41:19Speaker 1: Bukes?
- 41:20Speaker 4: I really liked at a walle can you wait? A
- 41:26Speaker 4: bunch of stuffs just rewatching Lost Street.
- 41:30Speaker 6: So good in that too, but I kind of didn't
- 41:34Speaker 6: realize because he was in thor Dark World too.
- 41:37Speaker 4: Well, he got I think Congo he was in Back
- 41:42Speaker 4: in the Day.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Which he was like the crock guy in the suicide.
- 41:46Speaker 5: Yes, yes he was, because I think we should be
- 41:48Speaker 5: about that later.
- 41:50Speaker 4: That's a good call.
- 41:51Speaker 5: But yeah, I think he's really have a ton to
- 41:54Speaker 5: do in this.
- 41:55Speaker 4: But he's just a good actor. He's great, he's really good.
- 41:59Speaker 4: And lost. Oh he's so good and lost Jesus.
- 42:03Speaker 5: Yeah, but again he doesn't And you know what, I
- 42:06Speaker 5: picked Sophie also because I wanted to bring this movie
- 42:08Speaker 5: like the first has been sure at least had a
- 42:12Speaker 5: little heart, like they brought it down a few times
- 42:15Speaker 5: to yeah, have some kind of This one is just goofy,
- 42:20Speaker 5: like the hold through and I mean so his scene
- 42:22Speaker 5: with Sophie's the closest they get to I wish as.
- 42:26Speaker 4: They're shooting spitballs of the guy. Yeah, they could have
- 42:31Speaker 4: done one little He just never comes down to earth
- 42:35Speaker 4: at all in this movie. Yeah, no, he does this.
- 42:38Speaker 6: Uh as far as script for like these other actors,
- 42:42Speaker 6: here's the thing I can say about this movie. If
- 42:44Speaker 6: this was a one act play. Jim Carrey could pull
- 42:47Speaker 6: it off by himself and.
- 42:48Speaker 4: It wouldn't be that, you know what I mean, Like
- 42:50Speaker 4: it might be a tiny bit weird in spots, but
- 42:52Speaker 4: if he was just like the here's the pat you know, like,
- 42:56Speaker 4: it would have been fine.
- 42:58Speaker 5: The other people are literally there to move the plot
- 43:02Speaker 5: along around him.
- 43:04Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure. But yeah, they did. They did the
- 43:08Speaker 4: best they could with what they had, for sure.
- 43:11Speaker 1: I mean, well, let's move on. Let's go to our
- 43:15Speaker 1: favorite scene, and let's choose the dingus.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Is quite simple, really ingus dingus.
- 43:22Speaker 4: I can talk about my dingas all night long. Benny,
- 43:26Speaker 4: you want to go first? Gad you go? We all
- 43:30Speaker 4: know what.
- 43:31Speaker 5: This isn't We've been so good, Fine, we waited this
- 43:35Speaker 5: whole time, audience. This is what we came here to
- 43:37Speaker 5: talk about. The greatest physical comedy scene that's ever happened ever.
- 43:43Speaker 4: All those all those kind of break down what I
- 43:46Speaker 4: kind of saw with it. It's it's just such a
- 43:48Speaker 4: brilliantly written comedic scene where he's in the rhino and
- 43:53Speaker 4: then the fan goes out, and then you're like, okay,
- 43:56Speaker 4: that's so fun.
- 43:57Speaker 5: Let's just back up. He has to go steak out. Yeah,
- 44:00Speaker 5: these two guys having a meeting, and he gets a
- 44:03Speaker 5: life size robotic rhinoceros, which we're not going to explain
- 44:07Speaker 5: in any way from the inside, like.
- 44:11Speaker 4: We also if there's a rhino, ten be concerned, right,
- 44:18Speaker 4: not me. I'm gonna have my my, my secret meeting, right,
- 44:25Speaker 4: But that but that he drops, he drops the probably
- 44:29Speaker 4: the best line in the movie, kind of hot in
- 44:31Speaker 4: these rhinos, which which is which is a phrase that
- 44:36Speaker 4: we use in life. Oh my god, so much. And
- 44:42Speaker 4: then they just like job of showing how hot it is.
- 44:45Speaker 4: They show the sun, they show the wide shot of
- 44:48Speaker 4: the heat coming off, and then it cuts to him
- 44:51Speaker 4: just telling off his wet.
- 44:55Speaker 5: Dripping sound effect.
- 44:57Speaker 4: The really hits home me personally, and that's all right
- 45:02Speaker 4: then just along the blah blah, and then the door
- 45:05Speaker 4: goes kick out the family. Also just the conceit of
- 45:09Speaker 4: getting him naked for the bit and the family pulling.
- 45:14Speaker 5: Up and he's got to pull the pull the line
- 45:18Speaker 5: so he's covered in goo as well.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I also just love he's so hot, he's
- 45:24Speaker 4: trying to get and you just see that beam of
- 45:26Speaker 4: light light so great. But again then it's just it's
- 45:32Speaker 4: going back to what we're saying it's just his commitment
- 45:36Speaker 4: to the bid is just him trying to get out
- 45:39Speaker 4: of that rhino.
- 45:41Speaker 5: And he starts in like everything he does, he starts
- 45:44Speaker 5: with the finger, the finger goes all the way around,
- 45:48Speaker 5: gets the handout.
- 45:49Speaker 4: Then he then he gets the farm out and then
- 45:52Speaker 4: goes says that back in. Then he does starts with
- 45:56Speaker 4: the face, and that plastic they used is so perfect.
- 46:00Speaker 4: The bottom of his mouth is so like when he's just.
- 46:03Speaker 5: Like, so, I'm an actor, so I've been on set
- 46:07Speaker 5: a lot, and me and Renegade we work in production,
- 46:10Speaker 5: so we've been on a lot of sets.
- 46:12Speaker 4: So we often when we're watching, we're like, God, what
- 46:16Speaker 4: was this day on set like?
- 46:18Speaker 5: And I'm sure there's many days on set with Jim
- 46:20Speaker 5: Carrey where you're just like, oh my god, this is nuts.
- 46:23Speaker 5: But that's one of those days where I'm just like,
- 46:26Speaker 5: I cannot imagine everyone standing at the monitor watching these
- 46:31Speaker 5: takes go on and just being like, this is back crazy.
- 46:36Speaker 5: He just to die place the back panel with the
- 46:39Speaker 5: butt so that it's like back to normal, and then
- 46:42Speaker 5: he can do the kid doing this for like six hours.
- 46:45Speaker 4: What's happening?
- 46:46Speaker 5: I mean, I would love to know how long they
- 46:49Speaker 5: how many? I'm sure they were just like just go, like,
- 46:53Speaker 5: we'll just stay and him falling out naked is unbelieve
- 47:01Speaker 5: I distinctly remember being in the theater and it was
- 47:05Speaker 5: the hardest. It's still top five hardest I've ever laughed for.
- 47:12Speaker 5: The second I saw the rhino on this rewatch, I
- 47:14Speaker 5: was like what, I just started giggling, and it's you
- 47:18Speaker 5: don't even need to watch the movie. No, you just
- 47:21Speaker 5: put that on and you're good. Like sometimes now I've
- 47:26Speaker 5: seen it so many times, I don't even laugh anymore.
- 47:27Speaker 5: I'm just mind boggled by it, just like insane it is.
- 47:31Speaker 5: He's going for it, funny, it's the greatest.
- 47:36Speaker 4: The idea that was is unbelievable. Chef kiss And.
- 47:42Speaker 5: Again, we don't even need to we don't even need
- 47:45Speaker 5: to explain.
- 47:46Speaker 4: Where this robotic rhino came from. Not perfect, it's absolutely perfect.
- 47:52Speaker 4: You know.
- 47:53Speaker 5: Some producer was like, wait, so where did the robotic
- 47:56Speaker 5: rhino come from? And he's like, don't worry about it,
- 47:57Speaker 5: it doesn't matter. Get it to get a coffee, broe,
- 48:01Speaker 5: How does he pay for the rhino?
- 48:03Speaker 4: Get out of your sleeve, Get out of here.
- 48:06Speaker 5: I told you to go, get a coffee. Damn, you're
- 48:11Speaker 5: not here to ask questions. Man, we're making that's really great.
- 48:15Speaker 4: So yeah, that's all of our that's for sure, the dingus.
- 48:17Speaker 4: But let's let's do some runner ups. I mean, Bumblebee
- 48:21Speaker 4: Tuna is that's wonderful.
- 48:25Speaker 5: Also inappropriate, but that's so funny, you know, him rolling
- 48:29Speaker 5: in Also, I remember, I mean, bumblebe Tuna, your balls
- 48:34Speaker 5: are showing is wonderful. But I remember in the trailers
- 48:37Speaker 5: I found about this forever there was a what's his
- 48:41Speaker 5: name says the line He's like, they did not know
- 48:43Speaker 5: about disease until the white Man. He goes, yeah, I
- 48:47Speaker 5: am fighting something. But it must have gotten cut from
- 48:51Speaker 5: the movie because I remember.
- 48:52Speaker 4: It being like a trailer thing. That's hilarious. The fight
- 48:58Speaker 4: scene with the spears the absolutely so good. It's in
- 49:09Speaker 4: the bone, the bone.
- 49:13Speaker 1: He gets pulled by the mouth, just unbelievable.
- 49:21Speaker 5: Also Tommy Davidson, some serious physical comedy.
- 49:25Speaker 4: Going on there too. It was so funny, really funny.
- 49:28Speaker 4: That was my runner up scene.
- 49:30Speaker 5: I loved, like the even the projection scene, him coming
- 49:33Speaker 5: up with the projection.
- 49:37Speaker 4: Hi ho sl this is great. When the dude's just
- 49:42Speaker 4: yelling at this is serious and then just the hands
- 49:45Speaker 4: come up. You just can't resist.
- 49:50Speaker 5: Also, the party scene with the Monopoly guy and using
- 49:53Speaker 5: using a human person for a comedy is pretty unbelievable.
- 49:59Speaker 4: Which again is also a call back. It's just putting
- 50:01Speaker 4: ace in a fancy oh yeah, which is funny. Yeah.
- 50:08Speaker 4: If I've been drinking out of the toilet, I might
- 50:10Speaker 4: have been killed. Killed. He's a tough hang. Well again,
- 50:20Speaker 4: you either really are his friend or you married him.
- 50:24Speaker 4: Did he do that?
- 50:25Speaker 5: Do I have something in my teeth In the first
- 50:27Speaker 5: one too, I think he did well. I don't think
- 50:29Speaker 5: he says it, but he does the thing.
- 50:31Speaker 4: With the to the guy. Yeah, yeah, because that that
- 50:37Speaker 4: was pretty good. Actually, you know what I'll say, Well,
- 50:41Speaker 4: the opening scene of this movie, that was what the
- 50:46Speaker 4: opening scene of Cliff Hanger. I watched probably much too young,
- 50:50Speaker 4: because when did that come I watched? Yeah, yeah, it
- 50:54Speaker 4: was probably earlier when I saw.
- 50:59Speaker 5: Okay, so I was ten and that opening messed me up? Yo,
- 51:06Speaker 5: had I had already seen Cliffhanger when this came out
- 51:08Speaker 5: and I was They.
- 51:09Speaker 1: Had the Cliffhanger video game. I played that. It was Yeah,
- 51:16Speaker 1: I loved Cliffhanger talking.
- 51:17Speaker 4: About me to.
- 51:20Speaker 5: Cliffhanger was was traumatic for me. I loved Cliff, so
- 51:26Speaker 5: them spoofing it was pretty pretty.
- 51:29Speaker 4: That was pretty good. Clift gown man, he can do anything.
- 51:33Speaker 1: I was also going to say just the temple. We
- 51:35Speaker 1: talked a little bit about it because he was my
- 51:38Speaker 1: my dude, but just being up there. I loved all
- 51:42Speaker 1: the temple scene stuff. And then as he's leaving there,
- 51:45Speaker 1: just throwing a big.
- 51:46Speaker 4: Party with the slinky.
- 51:53Speaker 5: Is amazing.
- 51:54Speaker 4: Go Slinky go. Yeah. I just love the ends, Like,
- 51:57Speaker 4: what do you think one more time? One more time? Yep,
- 52:03Speaker 4: that's great.
- 52:06Speaker 1: That was That was all the ones I wrote down.
- 52:08Speaker 1: Did you have any more mukes?
- 52:09Speaker 4: I wrote one more down, and it's when he gets
- 52:11Speaker 4: like the darts from the other tribe. His arms are
- 52:15Speaker 4: hanging and he's doing the physical comedy of running through
- 52:17Speaker 4: and stuff. That's so funny.
- 52:20Speaker 5: Like he's just and he is perfectly made for that.
- 52:23Speaker 4: Scene, right, Like that is so perfect for him. I
- 52:26Speaker 4: actually also love the I love the cave him by
- 52:29Speaker 4: himself and the cave. Yes a good one, good call. Yeah,
- 52:35Speaker 4: as long as I have my torch.
- 52:38Speaker 5: Yeah, wi spawn of Satan.
- 52:43Speaker 4: Oh No, I'm fine, I'm fine. Then runs out, Yeah,
- 52:50Speaker 4: that's great.
- 52:50Speaker 5: Those were all the ones I wrote down.
- 52:52Speaker 4: I'm picking. I'm not gonna lie. Obviously I did have
- 52:55Speaker 4: some as a what was I were we twelve?
- 52:59Speaker 5: I did have some some feelings when Sophie was doing
- 53:03Speaker 5: the dance and oh sure, yeah at that age. And
- 53:06Speaker 5: and then when she's doing kind of the tongue touching,
- 53:11Speaker 5: Oh that was so silly. They touch tongues.
- 53:17Speaker 1: I have no more appetites for the and she's dancing,
- 53:21Speaker 1: it's like, do you have a dollar?
- 53:24Speaker 5: Certainly, probably many times in my growing up life where
- 53:27Speaker 5: I said I.
- 53:27Speaker 4: Was just practicing my mantra. Oh my god, you guys
- 53:32Speaker 4: were saying so many of the quotes. I'm sorry, touchdown,
- 53:37Speaker 4: call here. I think I think we should now move
- 53:40Speaker 4: to best quote, show.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Me the money, Show me the money, show me, because we.
- 53:50Speaker 4: Used quite a few kind of hot in these rhinos.
- 53:56Speaker 5: Actually I'll leave this one off because it has a
- 53:58Speaker 5: just a quick story. Well, my uh, we have a
- 54:04Speaker 5: lake place. My family has a lake place in Wisconsin.
- 54:07Speaker 5: Robbie's been there, and uh, it's on this big lake
- 54:13Speaker 5: and there's a bunch of like kind of resorts I
- 54:16Speaker 5: guess you could say, or whatever, like like resorts you'd
- 54:19Speaker 5: see in like dirty dancing, like from like the fifties
- 54:22Speaker 5: and CCS kind of places, and you know it's Wisconsin,
- 54:26Speaker 5: so they all have a lot of stuffed dead animals.
- 54:31Speaker 5: There's this one place where we would go and me
- 54:33Speaker 5: and my sister Rachel. Every time we'd go in there,
- 54:37Speaker 5: I'd go, hmm, this is a lovely room of death.
- 54:40Speaker 5: Every time, take care. I think it every time I
- 54:44Speaker 5: see something on the every time. So good because like
- 54:49Speaker 5: there's there's one that's just like fifty animals in there.
- 54:52Speaker 1: I'm like, we we did a we did a gig
- 54:57Speaker 1: at the owner of Kabell his house in Nebraska. He
- 55:02Speaker 1: owns like an entire city block in Nebraska, and it's
- 55:06Speaker 1: this this giant mansion, but it's all it's got to
- 55:10Speaker 1: be animals. It's all dead animals in the house. But
- 55:13Speaker 1: I said that roughly thirty times.
- 55:16Speaker 4: Where was it.
- 55:17Speaker 1: It was in Nebraska, like a little town in Nebraska.
- 55:20Speaker 1: I can't remember which one, but yeah, they put on
- 55:25Speaker 1: this huge party and yeah it was wild.
- 55:28Speaker 4: There's just so many animals that's like half those stars too,
- 55:31Speaker 4: So that makes sense that he it was great, that's cool.
- 55:38Speaker 4: This is a lovely room of death. I have a
- 55:40Speaker 4: couple of just kind of a little more scure ones,
- 55:42Speaker 4: but they involved a translator who's what played by Maynard. Yeah,
- 55:49Speaker 4: he was good. I did like him. I did want
- 55:51Speaker 4: to like But this couple where he gets he gets ace,
- 55:56Speaker 4: gets taken by the other tribe and the translations they
- 56:00Speaker 4: found me. No problem is don't beat yourself up. There's
- 56:07Speaker 4: another one where they're like walking together after they leave
- 56:10Speaker 4: and he says they didn't take chikaka. He just goes
- 56:15Speaker 4: and bowls and he goes out of shot. That comes
- 56:17Speaker 4: back up, Hi, welcome back.
- 56:22Speaker 5: Yes, I've always loved my aren't I the popular one?
- 56:30Speaker 5: The spitting, the spinning scene.
- 56:31Speaker 1: Actually, oh god, is the mucus that binds us?
- 56:38Speaker 5: Whatever production used on their faces when they.
- 56:44Speaker 4: So gross? What's it?
- 56:45Speaker 5: Always a spitting scene? That's what I want to know.
- 56:48Speaker 4: But anyway, Wow, it was a biscus, That's all I'm saying.
- 56:53Speaker 1: Oh he was practicing his mantra when he's saying, oh Mama,
- 57:00Speaker 1: oh mama.
- 57:03Speaker 4: That one hits home. I love that.
- 57:08Speaker 1: If I don't practice there, if I don't finish my meditation.
- 57:15Speaker 5: Was it was eleven or I was twelve when this
- 57:18Speaker 5: movie came out. A lot of Junior High six days.
- 57:21Speaker 5: Oh god, I'm chafing, chap. They came out was a
- 57:29Speaker 5: flag that said bang on it, bom, get out of here.
- 57:33Speaker 5: They're showing the show.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Shut him, my mom, get me alone.
- 57:37Speaker 4: Oh, Robbie remembers too. I had an illegal cable black
- 57:41Speaker 4: box on my to You sure did.
- 57:44Speaker 5: We could get a lot of Spice, a lot of
- 57:47Speaker 5: free boxing matches, if you know what I'm saying. Oh
- 57:49Speaker 5: my god, a lot of free pay per views. You
- 57:53Speaker 5: know what I'm getting that there? Oh yeah, that's great.
- 57:59Speaker 4: Man.
- 57:59Speaker 1: I had to get really creative with mine because it
- 58:01Speaker 1: was the you know, the fuzzy Oh that's nice.
- 58:06Speaker 4: I couldn't.
- 58:08Speaker 1: Some imagination. Yeah, exactly, a butt or maybe yeah, elbow.
- 58:14Speaker 1: At least we got the series catalog.
- 58:16Speaker 4: That's all I needed. That was great. Set analogue. Penny
- 58:23Speaker 4: was way better, bro. I really love Greenwall. Hit the light,
- 58:28Speaker 4: the switch on the wall beside you go for it.
- 58:30Speaker 4: It's so quick. Hit already then jail.
- 58:36Speaker 1: Yeah he doesn't like I forgot about that part and
- 58:40Speaker 1: it was so funny, dude.
- 58:42Speaker 4: I love I love a no response whenever I'm acting.
- 58:47Speaker 4: I love to love like a like a non like
- 58:50Speaker 4: a like a no response. High five, unreciprocated high five? Okay.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Any one thing that I can remember you saying a
- 59:01Speaker 1: lot and I did not know it was from this
- 59:05Speaker 1: was Nobody Wants to Play? Well, yeah, I still I
- 59:10Speaker 1: did not know that was from this movie when he's
- 59:13Speaker 1: in the monster truck. I did not know that until this.
- 59:17Speaker 5: That's also such a crap, like that's one of those
- 59:19Speaker 5: improvs of him, Like where did that even come from? That?
- 59:23Speaker 4: I feel like that's a reference. It feels like maybe
- 59:27Speaker 4: like of mice and men kind of thing or something.
- 59:31Speaker 4: You looked this up so idiots, but that I always
- 59:35Speaker 4: thought of Benny and when he I was just like,
- 59:38Speaker 4: I had no idea. I still say that my joke.
- 59:42Speaker 4: You know, I only have like six jokes, So yeah, same,
- 59:45Speaker 4: I keep going. Had a I guana bulls, collect the
- 59:51Speaker 4: whole set.
- 59:55Speaker 2: Three dirt.
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: How selfish of me.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: Let's do all the things that you.
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: Want to do.
- 1:00:04Speaker 5: I still say that too, everything you want to do.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: I definitely say poopy pants, and that is from nonsense
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: poopy pants.
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: Poopy pants. Stephanie laughs a lot. She also cries in
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: the bathroom.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: A lot, so who knows.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: So we said, excuse me, your balls are showing that
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: this is way up there for one of my fathers early.
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: I mean, bumblebee tuna is is incredible.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Also, yes, what else did we have?
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: We've hit a lot of these. Uh oh, sorry, you're
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: going no go for it. I just have a few.
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: The when he's on the plane penis, He's like, yes,
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: right here, it's bulky, but I consider it carry carry
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: so good. I don't think I got that when I
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: was a kid. I don't think it's pretty weird now,
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: but I'm.
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: Like, I liked a lot.
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: I'm probably gonna say it on a lot of flights now,
- 1:01:05Speaker 6: which is sad for everyone.
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: That's make sure someone's filming. Yeah, and uh, like a
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: clove happens a lot.
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: That's what you slipped in.
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: That's what's on her shoe, and that explains the obrigin
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: on your palm. Damn, I'm good. Love. I love when
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: he just lets it rip. It's the best. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: the reverse so stupid.
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: I also loved the and you must be the monopoly guy,
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: thanks for the free parking.
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: Yeah, repent and thou shall be saved, which I do
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: know that reference. I'm pretty sure that's right. Yeah, that
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: makes sense.
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: Spank you helpy helper to is a fun one.
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: Yeah help, oh, absolutely yeah.
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: I say this to Gate all the time. Yes, a workaholic.
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: The urine stand on your pants would signify that you're
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: a single shake man. Far too busy for the follow
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: up jingle, because, as everyone knows, you shake it more
- 1:02:18Speaker 5: than twice, you're playing with it.
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's true. That's true. Friends, Rodents quadrupeds lending me.
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: Oh he is really great.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: But I love that just when they're he's trying to say, like,
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: who aces in the temple, it's like, we're all children
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: of the same life for us, Yes, of course we are.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: He bends over and speaks from his rear.
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: Oh him right this way. He's just like, oh, he's
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: so mad. Also, one of the first lines of the
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: movie is really about the.
- 1:03:01Speaker 5: Well, if I were you, then you'd be me, and
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: I'd use your body to get to the top.
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: Yeah. That was really fun. Mm hmmm. Oh. You know
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: what else I still do is sleep sleep. Yeah, I
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: still do that. That's a good call. And I know
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: we already said it, but it's in the bone, the bone.
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: I love it. That was all the ones I had
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: written down. I think Oh yeah, I mean that's I
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: feel like we've done more quotable than the first one. Yeah,
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: I would agree, just what one liner? Yeah, totally agree.
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: What did he just say?
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: I think he said she's not a virgin.
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: They can tell that.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: That's good. That's a good last line. Well, then let's
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: let's move on. Let's go to the crying game. Well zero,
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: we've are the.
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: Movie. I have nothing on my sheet. I know there's
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: not any. I don't even try. No, they sure didn't.
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: Oh that was an easy one. Did you have one
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: in the first moment? I don't remember. I guess we
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: could always go back, but I bet I have it, Melissa,
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: I mean moment, sure, going scanning, looking loving. We know
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: he had seven during face off. That's trying the whole time.
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: I had the first one as well. It's all right,
- 1:04:40Speaker 5: let's not forget that you had seven during face off,
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: which is and like unbelievable sixty during Lord of the Rings.
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: So who knows? Well, sure, so many? This was some
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: trivia bro movie trivia. When driving to the consulate for
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: the first time.
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: Jim Carrey forgot his lines, so instead he started singing
- 1:04:59Speaker 5: the theme from the movie Chitty Chitty bang bang, so good.
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: Both actors stayed in character, and the director loved it,
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: so they kept it in. And I just think that's hysterical,
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: so good, and he's so committed to it.
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: It's so funny.
- 1:05:14Speaker 6: Man doesn't make any sense, but that's why it was
- 1:05:17Speaker 6: made up. According to Simon Callo, Jim Carrey didn't really
- 1:05:21Speaker 6: want to make the film apparently, which made the onset
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: experiences awkward, which I thought was interesting.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: That's crazy that he can commit to the bit so
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: hard and not even want to make it.
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: Seriously, Well, that makes it even more I'm assuming that
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: when his.
- 1:05:37Speaker 5: Check with nine zeros game, yeah you know heard six
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: zeros and a big number, because I mean, I'm.
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: Sure viewers will get to it. Yeah cool fifteen fifteen bro.
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: But still then like with your heart's on in it,
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: like yeah, that's just crazy in it. But you know
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: he was, he was shot. He had just gotten there too.
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: It's not you know. Yeah.
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: If it had been like like we said earlier, if
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: it had been like five years later, I'm sure he
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: would have been like, well, no, I'm right. But I
- 1:06:10Speaker 5: think the fact that they did it so fast, yeah,
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: was in their favor, and I'm sure the studio was
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: like go. He was paid fifteen million to reprise the part,
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: exactly half of the thirty million dollar.
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: Budget for the whole I was just going to ask
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: what the budget was. Yep, thirty mail.
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: So he made half of that.
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: And it was actually the film's writer and Carrie's friend,
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: Steve Odaker said, I think so who suggested he negotiate
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: with Morgan Creek Productions for this, and then conveniently he
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: himself became the director who then finalized the decision. Which
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: seems weird, but all right.
- 1:06:49Speaker 5: I actually appreciate you bringing this up because I wanted
- 1:06:52Speaker 5: to just quick hit on Morgan Creek Entertainment.
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: Oh, this production company. There's these little production companies that
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: popped up in the eighties and nineties who would do
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: these crazy things.
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: Morgan Creek Entertainment just in the nineties, this is what
- 1:07:07Speaker 5: they ripped off Young Guns one in two, Well sorry, okay,
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: late eighties through the nineties, Young Guns one in two,
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: Major League True Romance, Ace Ventura one and two, Robin Hood,
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: Prince of Thieves, Last of the Mohicans, Pacific Heights, Whole
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: nine Yards Wow is a kick ass ten years of
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: Holy Cow.
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: Like for like a like a like.
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: I think they still exist, but they only have like
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: a handful of things in the next like twenty years
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: after that. But wow, that is an unbelievable list of
- 1:07:42Speaker 5: things to have made in a ten year span. Also
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: the fact that they use the Robin Hood Prince of
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: Thieves music in their production company. Thing that comes up.
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: So sick.
- 1:07:57Speaker 5: I love it because I love that music. But that's
- 1:07:59Speaker 5: perfect to shout out Morgan Creek Entertainment run, this is
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: pretty well. Jim Carrey spent a lot of time off sick,
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: probably because he didn't really want to do the movie, apparently,
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: which affected the contract of actor Simon Callo. CALO's contract
- 1:08:18Speaker 5: had actually expired before he could finish filming his scenes.
- 1:08:21Speaker 5: Despite this, he wasn't paid overtime, as Carrie's illness was
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: regarded as an act of god quote unquote.
- 1:08:29Speaker 6: Union stuff there. Hopefully that's been fixed, I think taking
- 1:08:33Speaker 6: cure of that now. Yeah, Carrie has said since that
- 1:08:36Speaker 6: that seems unfair. But because Calo already had other commitments
- 1:08:40Speaker 6: in London, the producers suggested he flew back regularly in
- 1:08:44Speaker 6: first class, as the contract had stated. It wasn't until later, though,
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: that he found out that the producers were deducting the
- 1:08:51Speaker 6: cost of his plane tickets from his overall salary, and
- 1:08:54Speaker 6: in his words, he finished finished up working for almost nothing.
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: And I think that sucks. So just a yeah, seriously, seriously.
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: According to Jeff Daniels, Jim Carrey had explained to him
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: the reasons why he didn't like the sequel much. Always
- 1:09:14Speaker 5: said this earlier. He disliked the Aces Afraid of Bats angle,
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: as he found it to be cheap, and even fought
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: the director about changing the script. He did have an
- 1:09:23Speaker 5: interesting idea. He wanted it to be that Ace was
- 1:09:25Speaker 5: allergic to bats, which could have been kind of funny.
- 1:09:29Speaker 5: Carrie was also nervous about the film's depiction of the
- 1:09:32Speaker 5: native characters.
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: He was right, and that people might take offense to them,
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: he said. He has said since he's even surprised the
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: film has not been outright banded. I don't think it's that.
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: It's just it's a bad look, but it's because it's
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: But compared to some things, I'm like, yeah, right, I would,
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: I would, I would argue him his horrified response to
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: possibly kissing a man in the first one. It was
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: a little person yes, I mean, at least they have
- 1:10:03Speaker 5: people of color, you know. Yeah, I mean, I just
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: like I understand what he's saying. But I'm like, I
- 1:10:09Speaker 5: would argue the first movies slightly more problematic. It's not
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: Birth of a Nation or something. I mean, let's all
- 1:10:15Speaker 5: call me, you know, I don't know.
- 1:10:18Speaker 6: Up until Dumb and Dumber two in twenty fourteen, this
- 1:10:21Speaker 6: was the only sequel to a Jim Carrey film that
- 1:10:24Speaker 6: actually featured Carrie. Likewise, none of the actors from the
- 1:10:28Speaker 6: first film except Carrie returned for the sequel, which is
- 1:10:30Speaker 6: kind of interesting.
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: I know, they offered him a ton of money to
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: mask too, and which is probably very smart, probably good.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: I want a Dumb and Dumber two to be so
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: good and it's so.
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: It's not it was bad. That was so many when
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: that was twenty five years later. Yeah, crazy, Do you.
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: Think do you think this movie was like would have
- 1:10:58Speaker 5: been better if they would have kept him in my
- 1:11:01Speaker 5: like another like Miami case or something.
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: I don't know. I liked that they tried to like
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: go way outside the realm. I guess yeah. I think
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: you can kind of just let him cook and do
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: whatever he needs to do, Like you're here.
- 1:11:15Speaker 5: Could it could have just been anything. We're here for him,
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: not for you know, I were just riding the Jim
- 1:11:22Speaker 5: Carrey train for sure.
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: For sure. Director Tom de Cherchio left after the shoot began.
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: After the shooting began, Jim Carrey, who had director's approval
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: on the project, had him replaced by the film's writer
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: and his best friend, Steve Odakerk. As we said, who
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: had also co written his previous movie, even though he'd
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: never directed a feature film before, which is pretty wild.
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: Character said that they had many creative similarities, including improvising
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: and changing scenes during filming and things, and that Odakirk
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: had a good understanding of the main character. So that's
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: what I think.
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: He just did his buddy solid kind of but you
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: know whatever that also tracked because I do feel like
- 1:12:05Speaker 5: this movie could have been way better.
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: Yeah, like he needed a steering hand maybe to just
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: be like, I feel like the idea behind this movie
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: is not horrible, right, but it's just like we abandoned
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: care about it. No, you know, like they make a
- 1:12:24Speaker 4: big deal about the dolphin in the first one, and
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: it's the Miami like it's a big high profile thing,
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: which is fun and interesting.
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: This one yeah, they don't. I feel like they abandoned
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: the plot just to let Carrie have more time to be.
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: A crazy Personally, he actually has like relationships, he has
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: a people correct right, and he has at least a
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: few human moments. Yeah. Yeah, As we.
- 1:12:51Speaker 6: Said earlier, two people that played Batman villains are in
- 1:12:55Speaker 6: this movie, Jim Carrey and Atta Walleh. I can't remember
- 1:12:59Speaker 6: how does say his full name? I wrote it down
- 1:13:01Speaker 6: earlier anyway, echo from Lost.
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: The Batman villain.
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: Yeah, Carrie played the Riddler and Batman, and then as
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: Rob said, Killer Crock the Suicide Squad, which you know, he's.
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: Not against Batman in that movie, but he is in
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: the Cannon I guess correct. Well.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: And also this came out the same year as Batman Forever, right,
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: So oh yeah, nineteen ninety five was the year of
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: the bat for Jim Carrey.
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: Wow. I never even put that together.
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: That's awesome.
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: That's awesome. I love it. That's hilarious.
- 1:13:42Speaker 5: I also never got this. The native's name for the
- 1:13:45Speaker 5: Great White Bat, Chikaka, is just a combination of the
- 1:13:48Speaker 5: words in coca and Guanda. Plays a large a large
- 1:13:52Speaker 5: role in the in the plot of this film, so
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: I don't know if that's a stretch, but it was
- 1:13:57Speaker 5: in there, and I thought it was silly.
- 1:13:59Speaker 4: An you have the guano based in reality, it's guano
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: good for anything?
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: Is that?
- 1:14:03Speaker 4: Is that all just we can use guana to actually
- 1:14:06Speaker 4: a million dollar industry? I don't think it's that. Like.
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: I'm like, if you're going to do this, you're not
- 1:14:13Speaker 5: going to do like Ivory or something like, at least
- 1:14:16Speaker 5: make it like kind of real.
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:14:18Speaker 5: Want No, it's a highly effective fertilizer.
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: So that part was true.
- 1:14:22Speaker 5: Okay, it's more than just animal waste, says virgin Virginia
- 1:14:27Speaker 5: Batspros dot com. I almost said, Virgin bats Pros. They're
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: probably virgins. I mean, you know what, that's your business.
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: They stop talking about. Oh no, these are just things
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: that were already saved. What should I look it up?
- 1:14:48Speaker 5: I own Virgin bat Bros.
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: Okay, there it is. We finally were able to plug it.
- 1:14:57Speaker 5: Nonprofits, three works.

- 1:15:34Speaker 5: up with like a pretty good idea, because again, the
- 1:15:37Speaker 5: first one was such a fluke, and I feel like
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: if someone would have put some time in the second one,
- 1:15:43Speaker 5: they probably could have came up with something pretty fun.
- 1:15:46Speaker 4: I mean, Animal Animal.
- 1:15:47Speaker 5: Gave us activists are it's a pretty big thing. I
- 1:15:51Speaker 5: feel like you come up with a lot of stories

- 1:17:02Speaker 5: crew over to Africa for this one. It turns out no,
- 1:17:06Speaker 5: you're like, sorry, we're paying Jimbo fifteen. We're gonna shoot
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: in South Carolina.
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: We're gonna go over to this field over here.
