  Speaker 1: So I am actually getting ready for church and I wanted to just share this scripture that I think I'm going to lean into this one for the next few days.

  Speaker 1: God is so good that we get to see a new month.

  Speaker 1: I'm in Psalm 27.

  Speaker 1: Most of you probably know this already, but it is such a powerful one.

  Speaker 1: But it starts off with Psalm 27.

  Speaker 1: I'm in the New King James Version.

  Speaker 1: The Lord is my light and my salvation.

  Speaker 1: Whom shall I fear?

  Speaker 1: The Lord is the strength of my life.

  Speaker 1: Of whom shall I be afraid?

  Speaker 1: And is is actually emphasized, it's italicized, so you don't have to guess whether the Lord is your light.

  Speaker 1: You don't have to guess whether the Lord is your strength.

  Speaker 1: I want to encourage you all to come in here.

  Speaker 1: It talks about when the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh and my enemies and foes.

  Speaker 1: They stumbled and fell, and though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear.

  Speaker 1: One thing I desire of the Lord.

  Speaker 1: I'm going to contextualize that I will seek, I will dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.

  Speaker 1: So even as you're praying, you know a lot of us tend to just go to God.

  Speaker 1: You know, and we're just asking for her, our wants and needs, but go to God and ask him.

  Speaker 1: What I most desire is just a relationship with God, is to know him, is to truly have a relationship with God, not to just go to him.

  Speaker 1: You know how your kids just come to you when they want something.

  Speaker 1: I want to go to my father in heaven just because I want a relationship with him.

  Speaker 1: I want to hear from him, I want to get his insights and his guidance.

  Speaker 1: I don't want to just show up when I need something right, because then, when you don't get your prayers answered, we get frustrated, we get disappointed and we break the relationship.

  Speaker 1: Psalm 27, verse 6,.

  Speaker 1: It says and now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me.

  Speaker 1: I mean again another powerful thing to remind you these are the things that God does for us.

  Speaker 1: There are battles that he's going to fight for us this month of September that we need to let God fight for us.

  Speaker 1: We take our troubles to the Lord, but sometimes you got to stand back and let God be God.

  Speaker 1: I said in this wait on the Lord, be of good courage.

  Speaker 1: This is verse 14, and he shall strengthen your heart.

  Speaker 1: Wait, I say, on the Lord, that's how it ends up.

  Speaker 1: Thank you, lord, that you love us so much that you give us your word.

  Speaker 1: I thank you for encouraging us this Sunday morning and, as we have entered a new month, I pray for everyone under the sound of my voice, that anything they stand in need of Lord, god that you will deliver, but most of all, I ask that the hunger that we have for getting to know you and learning more about you and having a relationship with you, that that trumps everything that we do.
