- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar spends welcome in to do wall daily prison by jingag.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Lugo.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here Tuesday, December 9th.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: And right now we're talking about are your Jacksonville Jaguars Super Bowl contenders.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: Can they win the AFC title for the longest time we were talking about are the Jaguars of playoff team.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: which theoretically they could still fall out of the playoffs, like let's not put anything past this franchise.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: We've seen it happen before.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguars were eight and three and didn't make the playoffs back in 2023.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: But the Jaguars, they seem to be peeking, ascending,
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: growing as a team at the right time, you know, as we get into December football here, they're 94, they're in first place in the AFC South, they've got to game up on everyone in the division, you know, outside of the Titans who are way, way, way, way back there, but they've got everything in front of them and
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: They could potentially, they're currently the third seed in the AFC.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: The Texans are right behind them, so the Jaguars have to take care of their own business, so of the next four games, there's four games left, but they could potentially cost them ruckus, and you never know where they could end up seeding wise.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: Right now, they have like a 96 to 98% chance to make the playoffs based on all the different simulators out there,
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: They're over 50% chance to win the division.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think 60 is kind of the most common thing.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think about a lot of things are saying like 10% chance to win the Super Bowl, something like that.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: So, and even talking about the Jaguars and the Super Bowl in the same sentence is pretty wild.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: But we're going to do that here.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate you being here.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll just check out GenJag.com.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up some new dov all gear, help support the channel.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: Look, good while doing it.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I want to say I do really, truly appreciate every single one of y'all out here, whether you've been.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: whatever side of the fence you've landed on with a lot of different discussions that we talk about here.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not worried about if you agree with me disagree with me.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: I just appreciate y'all tuning in, engaging, showing support.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: So it's just been amazing to see the channel growth this year and over the last couple years.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: I guess 2022 was the first year we started doing this here on YouTube and doing the podcast every day.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: So just thank y'all so much.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: So the jag wars.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think start the discussion by, what are they doing well right now?
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: Where do they need to improve?
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, like, what are they doing well right now?
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's easier to say what they're not doing well.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Consistently.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're not
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: clean on the penalty department.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's still like pretty on the negative side of things.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think they had like eight for 64.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: This past week against the cults.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think the week before that, they had like 13.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think they had seven against the cardinals.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think they had a clean game against the chargers.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: But they're the most heavily penalized team in the NFL still.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's something that if you are in a really close game, and a tight game, and against a really good team, that's the type of thing that can definitely take you down.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: I would have said, and I think you could still say like maybe like left tackle a little bit of a question still.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe just like the offensive line past protection against elite units, elite defensive fronts.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's definitely something you could potentially point to.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: Although Cole Van Lannam, we did a video on him earlier today, I think that he's playing his butt off and doing a good job and so he actually, I'm more confident right now in him than I am Walker Little.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how that situation's going to play out when Walker Little's healthy with coming back from a concussion.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think you, I would leave Cole out there and let that ride and see how it goes because he seems like he plays with a little bit more consistency and tenacity.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's been better with his hands, like just getting his hands in the right spot, getting to the right depth, not oversetting, things of that nature.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I mean, left tackle, maybe it's slightly improved, but the run game, mostly very good.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: all world.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like a dominant run game, but it's mostly pretty good.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: Passing game?
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's been greatly lately.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: The vertical passing attack after adding Jacobi Myers, getting Britain's strange back, getting Brian Thomas Jr. back, Tim Patrick, getting a Parker Washington back, still, this vertical passing attack is something else.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean Trevor Lawrence is feeling it, right?
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: he is absolutely feeling it.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I know, even against the cardinals, like all those interceptions, but like they were still having a pretty good success right?
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: It was just some bad mistakes, but they were still moving the ball down the field.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: And they're able to attack the middle of the field offensively.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think they've got a good receiving core and a good quarterback a really well-thought-out passing game and running game.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: Great offensive coach, you know, in Liam Cohen, and I think all the
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: The assistant coach is on the offensive side of the ball are doing a good job.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: It just feels like a well-oiled machine right now.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: The jackwares are averaging over the last six games since the by-week.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: They're averaging over 30 points per game.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: That's wild, absolutely wild stuff.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: So offensively, I feel like they can compete with just about any team and to start, you have to think about the AFC teams because you don't play the NFC teams until,
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: the final game, right?
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: And you don't have any NFC teams left on your schedule.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: But I think the Jags offense can compete right now with just about any defense in the AFC.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: And that's going to be tested, because they go to Denver in a couple weeks.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: And so we'll get to see right then and there, how things are really going on in extremely high level.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: Because Denver's defense is wonderful.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: Other than that, we've seen them compete with the Texans
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: So long as you don't have a leaky pipe at left tackle, yeah, you can compete with that defense.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: For sure.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what other defense is really like, making you shake in your boots.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: But the jags defensively looking at their defense,
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's doing a great job, too.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: Past Rush has come alive.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Heinz Allen moving around the formation, Eric Armstrong said it's had a good year.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: Trayvom Walker Winfully healthy is making an impact.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: Danny Strigo stepping up in a huge way BJ Green stepping up.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: Your linebacker is being able to make an impact in the back field.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: Devon Lloyd picking off passes like crazy.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: Buster Brown is playing at a high level.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: You got Eric Murray back in the second area.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: You got Ray on Lane, taking strides forward and they brought him in to be a special team where there's year, but he's taking strides.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: Antonio Johnson has been, I mean, he's turned his career around this year.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like he's been excellent.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: Do we win or do you'll get back at some, all these guys are playing good football.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't mention FOIA when I talked about the lineback.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: I was talking about Gardec and Lloyd Gettin in the backfield.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: FOIA, he's been excellent as well.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: He's just a steady force for the Jag Course.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: So Greg News, I'm getting his first interception.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: I just think this team is playing at a really high confidence level.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: On both sides of the ball, special teams as well.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: This is a dangerous football team right now.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why you see they've won five out of their last six games.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: When I look at the games they've lost this year, a lot of it has come back to penalties have been problematic, but then offensive line play.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the C-Hawks beat up the jack's offensive line.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: The Rams, they did a little bit of that as well.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: The game got out of hand, obviously.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: That was just a weird game.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: Texans down the stretch beat up the jack's offensive line.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: and a lot of these guys, yes, particularly against Walker Little, same thing with the Bengals.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: So if Colman Laneon can just be more steady, the Jaguar is her in business, in my opinion.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: Now moving forward, they have the jets this week.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: The Broncos, the following week in Denver, then they're at the Colts and by the way, looks like they could be potentially playing Old Man Rivers.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: Grandpa Rivers,
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: The cults have signed filibrever, I don't know if he's going to start, we'll see, whatever.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really care either way, not super concerned about that at this point.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar showed pretty well that they can handle the cults and you could lose any of these games still.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that they will lose all of these games or I don't think that they will lose to the jets.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: Like if we're talking about where I expect them to finish, I expect them to finish three and four.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: Three of the next four games, I think they'll win, so that would get them to 12 and five.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: But they could very easily win them all.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: The only game that they won't be favored to win is against the Broncos.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: They should absolutely beat the Jets in the Titans.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: They should beat the Colts, too.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: Broncos and Denver, not an easy place to play.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: great defense and they're not this defense that like force a lot of turnovers does all that stuff but you just can't move the ball against them.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: They're really good against the run.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: They're really good against the pass.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: They can dial it up in different ways, manch Joseph.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: They've got elite secondary players.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: They've got nickmanito who's got like the fastest get off off the line of scrimmage in the NFL right now.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they've just got a lot of good players.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: Um,
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: I expect the jacks to finish 12 and 5.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: Would I be surprised if they finish 13 and 4?
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't be surprised if they win the next 4 games.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: I would be surprised if they finished less than 12 and 5 at this point because that means that they lose a game that they shouldn't in my opinion.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that they're doing that anymore.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they're in the business of doing that now.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: Could be wrong.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: But I expect them to finish 12 and 5.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: If they finish 13 and 4, that means that they beat the Broncos.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: If they beat the Broncos, the first seed is not out of the question for the jacks.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think that the jacks are more likely to jump the Broncos than they are.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: the Patriots.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: The Broncos remaining schedule is versus Packers this week, then versus the Jaguars.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's nice for them.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: The Broncos that both of those games are at home and that three are their final four are at home.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: But Packers, that's a difficult team to beat.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguars, difficult team to beat.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: Then their at Arrowhead, 815 on Christmas Day, the Chiefs, you can say what you want about them.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: They're still going to be fighting and at the very least super
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: talented team that can spoil your season a little bit if you're the Broncos, and then versus the Chargers, and we, the Chargers, despite some of their issues, their tough football team, too.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: Chargers are already beat the Broncos one.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's not out of the question that the Jag wars who play the Broncos could jump the Broncos in the standings.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: And the Broncos are currently in first place at 11 and two.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: When I look at the Patriots,
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: Again, it's possible for the Jaguars to potentially jump them.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: They've got the bills this week in New England, not at easy game.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: They've shown that they can beat the bills, but that's not an easy game.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: They've got at Baltimore.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: feels like they should win that.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: They've got at the Jets and verse the dolphin.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, I think that they have a little bit of an easier road ahead than the Patriots do.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: And the fact that the Jaguars don't play them doesn't give them that potential hand up in that setting.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think the one sees out of the question.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: Also, I don't think it's completely out of the question that the Jaguars end up being like the five or six seed.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: Again, if they don't handle their business,
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: And they end up losing two of these final four games.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: The Texans are right there.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: The Texans are right there to try to catch you.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: And it could end up being a tied
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: a tie where you go way down the tie breaker, potentially the Texans final four games, verse cardinals, verse raiders at Chargers, verse cults.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: They could very well win the next four games.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: And if they win the next four games and you only win three of your next four games, they're right there.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: If they win three out of four and you only win two out of four, they're right there.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: and the tiebreaker would end up coming probably down to like potentially like strength of schedule or strength of victory or something like that way down the list.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, the Jaguars do absolutely need to handle their business.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: We're not here to just be all sunshine and rainbows.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: The fact of the matter is if they don't win at least three out of their next four and maybe four out of four, the Texans could win the division.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguars had the chance to bury them.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: That loss, that win kind of started this run for the Texans.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: But I think it was also an important moment as the Jaguars have acknowledged for the Jaguars and their growth and their maturity as a team as well.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: So really wild result there, that I think has been better has made both teams better.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: But still sucks that you lost that game.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: Now, when you talk about getting into the playoffs and who you could potentially be playing right now, the Jaguars would host the bills and Josh Allen, I don't care who you are.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to be playing against Josh Allen on the other side.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_00]: He's an unbelievable quarterback and he's been damn good in the playoffs.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's fair to sit here and criticize little more Jackson for not being as good in the playoffs.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't been as good in the playoffs.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Allen.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: is unbelievable in the playoffs.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: And now you've had other areas of the Bills or Oster that hasn't always come together during some of these playoff games, but Josh Allen is not the problem in and he's a dangerous player to play.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars out there best have been able to deal with Josh Allen at times, but last year the Bills, they beat down the Jaguars.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: That was a completely different Jaguars football team.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: We know that, but that's the last memory I have of seeing the Bills across.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: across the field.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_00]: And you go back to the playoffs in 2017.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Josh Allen wasn't the quarterback.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think that that's really something to be thinking about either and most of these rosters were just not even close to being with these teams yet.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: So it was Sean McDermott.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you can say that.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: He was their coach early on in his tenure, but that's a tough matchup.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think you look at the rest of the playoff field, but it's not a matchup they can't win.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars, I think they have the potential to beat anybody in the AFC playoff field.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: Drake May is playing an incredible level.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: We know that there's talent on that Patriots roster.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: They're well coached.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: The Broncos have an unbelievable defense and an offense that has enough pieces and coaching to do a really good job and make it very difficult to beat them.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: I would not be overly worried about the Steelers in the playoffs.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that they'll make it out of the first round, although they are currently the leaders in the AFC North, and they probably will end up winning that division.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: Chargers tough team, but we've seen the Jaguar's handle them before.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: And then you've got the Texans.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: The Colts are technically right there, but I don't think the Colts are about to keep up with the Texans.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: They do play each other, so you never know.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: But outside of that, I mean, I don't think that the Ravens are going to make the playoffs
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: They could, they don't have the easiest row to head.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: The chiefs, they're six and seven now, doesn't look like they're gonna make it.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: The dolphins are six and seven.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_00]: All these games have, like all these teams, probably just have too much ground to make up now.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I think the Jaguars are right there and the thick of it in the AFC.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_00]: Now, you look at the NFC, teams then would have to play potentially in the big one in February, Rams,
- 17:31[SPEAKER_00]: tough tough team.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's who I picked to go to the NFC, or to go to the Super Bowl from the NFC before the year started.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: Eagles, they're not playing great ball, but if they get to the Super Bowl, you better believe you don't want to play them.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_00]: Sea Hawks, they physically beat up the Jaguars, 49ers, they're going to be in a better spot probably than they were when the Jaguars played them last time.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: The lions are still in the hunt.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_00]: The bears are there.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think outside of that, you feel pretty good.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, the NFC to me is the tougher conference right now.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars have to get through an AFC field that will probably not include the Ravens or the Chiefs and I think that that's a potentially good thing.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_00]: By no means though are these AFC teams pushovers.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, the Jags, if they handle their business,
- 18:29[SPEAKER_00]: do the thing for the first time ever, make it to the Super Bowl, which is crazy to think about.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: And they should be gunning for that number one seed.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_00]: It is not out of the question at all that the Broncos lose two games, especially when they play the Jack Wars and they have a tough schedule.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_00]: The Patriots could certainly, I mean, Patriots, let's talk and see if let's see what happens
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: the jags handle their business against the jets, their one game back, it could happen potentially.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: And then you get into all these crazy tiebreakers and stuff too potentially.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: But that's where we're at.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know how you're feeling in the comment section below.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_00]: You all have a good one.
