- 1:23place to be All the soldiers are in the podcast description as
- 1:27well. Yes, it is the best place to be
- 1:29the Discord community so. Yeah, you know me preface, but
- 1:36listen, this is going up Sunday morning for everybody that's in
- 1:39there a week, I mean going into their week 20 playoff matchups.
- 1:45But we just have the trade deadline right before this.
- 1:48So if you're expecting some trade deadline news, we'll give
- 1:50you some tidbits here. But literally tomorrow or the
- 1:54day after that, our official like news trade deadline episode
- 1:57will be coming out. So everything will be covered
- 1:59there so you can look forward to that episode and hear or regular
- 2:04regular don't know what the TV term is, but you know what I
- 2:08mean. Regular broadcasting, regular
- 2:09scheduled programming. Yeah, scheduled programming.
- 2:11As I was trying to say it's a regular scheduled programming
- 2:14for everybody is looking for some waiver help looking into
- 2:17this next upcoming we the last week before most fantasy
- 2:19playoffs. So it's a big one.
- 2:21You got to make some important moves.
- 2:22User adds wisely and that's why we're here to help.
- 2:25That's it's OK, so let's review our choices from Week 19.
- 2:29We had Anthony Mantha, that's a win.
- 2:33Four games played. He got two points.
- 2:35Pretty. Good get some solid category
- 2:36coverage too. Yeah, yes, he did.
- 2:39Then Gabe Landeskog, four games played, five points, and that's
- 2:44a big win. He was.
- 2:46That's tremendous. And then Elias Lindholm won
- 2:51three games, one point. That is an L.
- 2:53Disappointing for that one, but two or three is not about ratio
- 2:56to have. Not at all, not at all.
- 2:59And that brings us to 33 wins and 18 losses.
- 3:02Losses, not a good pickups on the seasons 33 and 18 is pretty
- 3:06good. It's pretty we're almost
- 3:08doubling. If we're going to end the
- 3:09season, we would have to hit on all three this week and I think
- 3:14we can some pretty good choices over here.
- 3:16I think we just need to stop prioritizing Josh's players on
- 3:20these lists because Josh is always putting his, he's always
- 3:23putting his players top. Lies in home.
- 3:25He's got him on his team. Of course he put him first and
- 3:27of course didn't work out right. I could already like think of
- 3:32him. I can imagine him listening to
- 3:33this be like why I? Call him bad.
- 3:37His rule that he came up with last time was no more Seattle
- 3:39players in the top three. And I think the rule moving
- 3:41forward is no more of Josh's players in the top three.
- 3:43I think that's what we have to. Say that's true, I was the only
- 3:46one from last week, but if we hit on all three were officially
- 3:48doubling our good pickups. So too bad pickups, you know
- 3:53what I'm saying? I know you're 36 to 18 and 2 to
- 3:55one ratio. OK, cool.
- 3:56So only two game team this upcoming week are the New Jersey
- 4:01Devils. It's an interesting one because
- 4:03as we know, New Jersey has a very decent playoff schedule.
- 4:06So that's a tough spot. You know what it is that I have
- 4:11to ask when these two game teams, who are you dropping?
- 4:14Because this is the weekly to get to the playoffs, a lot of
- 4:16people are in must win matchups right now.
- 4:19Who on the New Jersey Devils are you considering dropping?
- 4:21That only has A2 game week? Because if we're going by roster
- 4:24percentage, I can just give you the names.
- 4:26Jack Hughes. You're not dropping Jack Hughes,
- 4:28right? Are you dropping Nico Hischer
- 4:3188% owned? It's crazy that that's even a
- 4:34thinker, right? Yeah.
- 4:36I mean he's uh look, I I don't think you can first of all on a
- 4:41faceoff league. I know that's not what we talked
- 4:43about, but like this needs to be said just because he's an
- 4:44absolute monster in that category.
- 4:46Absolutely not so absolutely not a non face off league.
- 4:51I still don't think so as shots and blocks have been really
- 4:54sorry. Shots and hits have been really
- 4:55decent as of late and although his points have been quite
- 4:59disappointing overall, there is still the potential and you know
- 5:02you want it in the playoffs. Now if you're in a real pinch
- 5:06and you have like a Pierre Luc Dubois on your roster or sorry
- 5:11on your on your waivers, you know, not to spoil anyone from
- 5:15our list, he is there. Yes, I'm making that swap.
- 5:19So four games of PLD you would cut Nico Hischer would that has
- 5:24two games for four games of PLD. Yeah.
- 5:26But in a league like like in a deep enough, deep enough league
- 5:30where the highest Rosser percentage guy that like for
- 5:32instance we have is Nikishin, Yeah.
- 5:36So. It really depends on how deep
- 5:39your league is. If you're in A10 team league, I
- 5:40think honestly, you could probably cut Nico Hischer if
- 5:43you're a must win matchup and you're desperate to like, you
- 5:45know, win this game. If you're you know, you're set
- 5:48for the playoffs. I would not make any rash moves
- 5:51like that, but Nico Hischer is definitely like, you know, I
- 5:54guess there's only one guy on the on New Jersey keeping I
- 5:57think Dougie Hamilton. That's another question.
- 5:59You know, PB1 Dougie Hamilton has been excellent for your
- 6:02fantasy teams. Yeah, I would try to keep Dougie
- 6:04Hamilton if possible. I think if you there's no other
- 6:08defenseman that have four games that that is available in most
- 6:12leagues that I would rather have over these two games, I think.
- 6:14Yeah. There's no defence in our top
- 6:17ten list this week. That and we go over there for
- 6:19now 40% and below. So if you have, you know, good
- 6:22options, then I can consider it obviously.
- 6:24But in a lot of leaks that's not the case, you know, yes, for
- 6:27Brad, I think you could expand yes, for Brad to make sure you
- 6:31make the playoffs this season. Timo Meyer I think is the next
- 6:34name. I think he's the last one that's
- 6:35like widely owned. I would cut him on Meyer.
- 6:38If you need 2, absolutely win this week and you want to
- 6:40prioritize games. Added Luke.
- 6:42Usain Bolt is 63% only just got healthy.
- 6:45I would cut him. I agree, Markstrom.
- 6:49Yes. You're cutting him.
- 6:52I mean listen if. He's been, he's been excellent.
- 6:54Yeah, he's been really good. He's gonna get 2 games this
- 6:56week. You can still hold Markstrom.
- 6:58I would hold mushroom. I would definitely hold
- 7:00mushroom. Yeah, I know.
- 7:02Value basically. Your goalie cats are because
- 7:04some leagues have like volume really is rewarded.
- 7:06So if you can get like 4 games over different goalie by like
- 7:09streaming the position properly or like making two ads for
- 7:12goalie I would consider it. But I'm not pressed to drop
- 7:16Markstrom. Yeah, in any standard league
- 7:19based on how good is past six games have been I'm I'm keeping
- 7:23I'm keeping marks from if I can OK and then a bunch of four-game
- 7:26teams. We'll talk about those.
- 7:27The busy nights are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and then the
- 7:30two off night teams Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa, Philadelphia,
- 7:35St. Louis and Washington.
- 7:37So let's dive into our top ten. What do we call this points
- 7:43guys? Sorry, Josh, Usually.
- 7:44Those guys got some bankers guys in here, but these are guys that
- 7:47you basically want to prioritize like overall value as a stream.
- 7:51So let's get into it with #10. At #10 we have Anthony Mantha
- 7:56line 3 Power play 1 three games this week, 4 next week.
- 8:02This is interesting because the Mulkin suspension, I don't know
- 8:05how valuable this power play 1's gonna be in the very near term.
- 8:09I still like the power play 1 exposure.
- 8:11I think it's been proven that this Pittsburgh power play can
- 8:14still click even though some of the elite pieces are not there.
- 8:18It's still the 6th ranked power play in the league.
- 8:20I think he's lower on this list because he only has three games.
- 8:23There's only two guys on this on this list.
- 8:25I have three games this week. Everybody has a four-game week
- 8:27and you know, leading into the playoffs that's where you want.
- 8:29But if you need exposure to a top power play and a guy that
- 8:32probably will get a bump in minutes given, you know, some
- 8:35big pieces around them are missing, Matt has always
- 8:38serviceable, you know, he'll get you close to that two shots a
- 8:40game that you're looking for. You can get some points.
- 8:42I think it's a safe pick it feels like, but only a
- 8:46three-game week. So if a lot of these four-game
- 8:48weeks are available ahead of them, that would be the
- 8:50priority. Yes, exactly.
- 8:52OK, next one I have. #9. Forex hours as as the episode
- 8:59goes on, our chemistry is gonna be clicking.
- 9:01You, you and Josh already have like your your segue setup.
- 9:04Yes #9 we have Speaking of which, Josh Norris of the
- 9:11Buffalo Sabres line. 3 power play 1 three games this week, 4
- 9:16next week. I mean, look at this season.
- 9:18Average here is really good. That's excellent.
- 9:21So yeah, what do you think He. Delivers when he when he when
- 9:25he's on the ice, he's just not on the ice very often.
- 9:29I haven't my fantasy team. I've been kind of like an
- 9:31outspoken voice for Josh Norris's potential value
- 9:33throughout the whole season. And when he's on the, when he's
- 9:36on the ice, when he's on the field, he's on the ice.
- 9:38You're getting like .9 points per game, which is excellent.
- 9:41The fact that it's on power play 1 is the big deal here because
- 9:43line 3 is not something to write home about, but it's kind of
- 9:45like a line 2.5, like the line 2 and the line three are
- 9:48interchangeable in ice time. But he always has that potential
- 9:53of, you know, getting put. With Tage Thompson on line 1, I
- 9:56don't think it's likely. I'm not picking him up with that
- 9:58in mind, but you know that in the back of your mind it's
- 10:00always a possibility. He's delivering and I think Josh
- 10:03Norris is heating up. Week 19 was a big week for him.
- 10:06It was the trade deadline week. There was rumor that he was
- 10:09going the other way in the Robert Thomas deal.
- 10:11That never ended up materializing.
- 10:13I like Josh Norris, I still like Josh Norris.
- 10:15I think he has some shots, points, combo.
- 10:18You're not going to get him for the hits like in years past, but
- 10:21he's very valuable. Only three games this week,
- 10:23though, in terms of Buffalo assets.
- 10:25I think he's cementing himself ahead of that tier.
- 10:27Like, you know, we always mentioned the suckers, the
- 10:29dones. I think I'm really going with
- 10:31Josh, Josh Norris ahead of those guys at this point, but I'm
- 10:34still prioritizing all these other guys that have four games.
- 10:37Yeah, yeah, I agree. I mean, he could be good though.
- 10:41But, uh, and I do like it going into the playoffs and I think
- 10:44I'll have a strong finish. So as long as he's healthy, I
- 10:46think that that he could have a really, really good rest of
- 10:49season. Week 21, yeah.
- 10:50Week 21, First week, probably the quarter finals and a lot of
- 10:53Championship leagues. He's got four games.
- 10:56So if if you're pretty set for the playoffs and you're just
- 10:59looking to optimize for Week 21, I think he's one of the guys
- 11:03that I would like the most. Yeah, agreed.
- 11:05OK, Next one we have. #8. At #8 we have of the Anaheim
- 11:11Ducks, Chris Kreider, line one power play, 1, four games this
- 11:17week, 3 the week after. But they have a three, 3-4 in
- 11:21the playoffs. So yeah, I expect, look, they're
- 11:24in first place right now in the Pacific Division.
- 11:27They're going to have to keep winning games though.
- 11:30This is not a lock for first at all.
- 11:32It's super tight there. So I think that he's going to be
- 11:35a big part of their continued success this season.
- 11:37And I do like it for this week and then.
- 11:39Little week after Carter has been kind of hot and cold, like
- 11:42his category coverage has been almost nonexistent.
- 11:45If you look at his game log for the last few weeks, he's not
- 11:48really consistent in the shots, the hits or the blocks or
- 11:50anything like that. That's what you're expecting.
- 11:52He just had a major blow up game against the.
- 11:55Hedge. Against the Habs last Friday,
- 11:59four points, four shots of power play point.
- 12:02Listen, the deployment hasn't always been there, but it is
- 12:04there now. It's a four-game week in a must
- 12:07win matchup to make your fantasy playoffs.
- 12:10I think streaming a guy on the Anaheim Ducks that are currently
- 12:13winning games. They have a pretty good schedule
- 12:16this upcoming week two. I would I would be very
- 12:18interested in streaming Chris Cryder.
- 12:20We have him as #8 on the list. He's the first guy on this list
- 12:23that has four games this upcoming week.
- 12:25I think Josh puts him. Josh is one that makes our our
- 12:28top ten list. So unfortunately he is not here
- 12:32because he is sick. But don't worry, he'll be back
- 12:35at some point. Who knows, maybe Jake is keeping
- 12:37him in his basement, but Drake is not enough for all those
- 12:42listening on Spotify. But I think he's on this because
- 12:46the the volatility of the deployment.
- 12:48But when he when he has it, he can deliver.
- 12:52Yeah, exactly. Not great in the shorts this
- 12:54season. That's another thing to to
- 12:56mention. He's been good at that in the
- 12:57past. I got New York, he was really
- 12:58good. But I think I think points wise
- 13:00it's gonna be safe rest of season and I really like the
- 13:02four games. Next.
- 13:04Washington, Sorry. That's fantastic.
- 13:07Capitals at #7 yeah, I think we have.
- 13:14Pierre Luc Dubois, PLD Line 2, Power Play 2 and doing
- 13:20everything right with that deployment so far.
- 13:23Bacon, lettuce, tomato. Really good.
- 13:25Yeah. OK.
- 13:28Yeah, I know. I like this line too, by the
- 13:30way. It's just like a really strong
- 13:32line, too, playing with Wilson and protests and especially
- 13:35protest, protest. The goal, I think, is Mr. 6667
- 13:38protests. He's so tall.
- 13:41Yeah. He's actually out for personal
- 13:43reasons now. But yeah, no indication that
- 13:46he's going to be out long term. So we'll see.
- 13:48But when he came back, he was on fire.
- 13:52People really I think his rosters percentage jumped up a
- 13:55lot because people were really interested in what he was able
- 13:57to offer. We thought he was going to get a
- 13:59look on power play one. It didn't did not last long.
- 14:02So I think the P2 really hinders his top end value.
- 14:04Nonetheless, this power play is ranked 28th in the league.
- 14:07So it's not anything to write home about Washington at the
- 14:10deadline or like low key kind of sellers like they they sold out.
- 14:14They didn't really make any blockbusters.
- 14:16They sold Carlson. So I think the sentiment around
- 14:18the team is a little bit lower, but nonetheless, he's come back
- 14:22rejuvenated since his injury and I think he has value to bring to
- 14:25the table, especially in faceoff with links.
- 14:27It makes him even more valuable because he's getting those from
- 14:29the left wing position. He's got four games this week.
- 14:31He's tied to a strong 5V5 line. I like him as a safe bet for
- 14:37production and some category coverage.
- 14:40Doesn't. Do I think he has the highest
- 14:41ceiling out of all the guys on this list?
- 14:43No. But sometimes you just want to
- 14:45safe play and he's the guy that can deliver that for you.
- 14:48Yeah, yeah, not much to to add there.
- 14:51And I I I do like it this next one.
- 14:54Is is interesting this this next one I think I would have put
- 14:58slightly higher, maybe I think this would put a spot higher and
- 15:02I think I would have put personally Crider over Dubois
- 15:04because I like the offensive capabilities of the Anaheim
- 15:07Ducks. But it's honestly really close.
- 15:09All of these guys are in the same tier.
- 15:10It's just about personal preferences.
- 15:12I think I agree with you on the first part.
- 15:15We're putting this guy higher. We'll talk about it obviously
- 15:18detail, but I do like to boil over Carter.
- 15:20I think that's that's fair. OK, you like Devolver Crowder.
- 15:23I do. OK, I like cried over to Blue,
- 15:25but there you go. Split the difference.
- 15:27Congrats. Alright, so at #6.
- 15:33Add number six of the New York Rangers.
- 15:35We have Alexi Lafreniere. It's important to distinguish
- 15:40that. You'll see why.
- 15:42Line one power play 1, four games this week, four games next
- 15:48week, and then four games the week after that and the week
- 15:51after that as well. They have a 444 in the playoffs
- 15:53and in addition to that, the Rangers also have four games
- 15:57this coming week. That's ridiculous.
- 15:58This is why we were always talking about the Rangers
- 16:00playoff schedule and how elite it was.
- 16:03It's incredible and to have him now be line one, power play one.
- 16:07Like obviously the Rangers are not making the playoffs at this
- 16:11at this point. It's it's clear that they're
- 16:14gonna finish close to the bottom of the Eastern Conference, which
- 16:17is extremely surprising based on what we thought coming in.
- 16:20But with Lafreniere, I actually think that all the Panera and
- 16:24trade especially is going to actually really bode well for
- 16:27his fantasy value rest of season.
- 16:29Every time I'm hyped on Lafreniere, he disappoints.
- 16:31So I'm sorry to everybody who is who.
- 16:35Well, although I have to say, like, I've been very cautious
- 16:37about recommending him on the podcast.
- 16:39I don't think I've been like super high on him or anything
- 16:41like that, but I actually really do believe he's gonna have a
- 16:43strong finish to the season. I'm, I would have put him at #5
- 16:47on this list, Josh has number six and somebody else #5 Clearly
- 16:51Josh did not learn his lesson. We'll talk about that.
- 16:53But I agree by the. Way.
- 16:55OK, there we go. So Walgreen, Page and Josh can
- 16:58suck it, but alright, I thought bleep.
- 17:04No, but I don't know what that is.
- 17:06We already covered the the rageous power play during nights
- 17:10in the league, but that we might see that regress a little bit
- 17:13given there's no more Panarin, JT Miller's on IR.
- 17:15But I think those two guys being off the ice for the moment, it
- 17:20really helps Lafreniere's ice time.
- 17:22And these last few weeks he's actually been delivering.
- 17:25I think we're seeing a consolidation of talent and it
- 17:28might really help is valid because he's going to get line
- 17:31one power play 1 minutes. And if he's playing 20 minutes a
- 17:33night, we could see the peripherals tick up like right
- 17:36now he's hovering like just under two shots a game.
- 17:39I can see that being like a two 2.5.
- 17:41The hits are not a huge part of his game, but you could get a
- 17:44hit a game. But it's mostly the points and
- 17:47the power play like he's been. He's been delivering on the
- 17:49points. He's been over a point per game
- 17:50where the last month, if you looking at the averages, I'd
- 17:53like what I'm seeing from Lafreniere.
- 17:55I'm not getting ahead of myself. I really think that, you know,
- 17:58it could come crashing down. It could be poor on the ice and
- 18:00he gets demoted, blah, blah, blah.
- 18:02A lot of options. But right now I want him on my
- 18:04team. I'd be really willing to stream
- 18:06him to me. I would put him on #5 Josh has
- 18:09my number six, you know, personal preference.
- 18:12Four games this week. Left wing, right wing eligible.
- 18:15I really I really like Lafreniere.
- 18:17Me too, me too. I I think, yeah, I think that I
- 18:22think one thing with him and then we'll move on to the next
- 18:25one is that he's kind of alternated between being like a
- 18:27shots hits guy or a points guy in his career and he kind of has
- 18:30to step into that, you know, more points focused now if he is
- 18:36going to make this is his shot. If you said this here and you're
- 18:40out, but now it really is. So he has a strong finish to the
- 18:42season. He could be part of the Rangers
- 18:43long term and like their long term plans.
- 18:45Otherwise, like, you know, he's so it's.
- 18:48Big for him. They're blowing it up.
- 18:50I know, I know, but he's just like not good.
- 18:53So this is like, this is the first time he's been on the
- 18:56Rangers when they didn't have a great surrounding cast.
- 18:58That's really why I like the opportunity for him.
- 19:00And so we know we saw the trade deadline.
- 19:02Vincent Trocheck did not get moved.
- 19:04I think that just adds talent for this roster.
- 19:07Yeah, we saw, you know, we're seeing Gabe Perot kind of get a
- 19:10little bit of a look here too. Like if somebody expected him to
- 19:12be on this list. I think he's too little roster
- 19:14percentage that there's other guys that are just better.
- 19:17But the Lafreniere, I think it's he's got no power play points,
- 19:21but he's on power play 1 and it's above average power play.
- 19:25I still think it remains an above average power play.
- 19:28So if the power play points start coming in, it's just
- 19:31erases the floor for his value, and I think that's what we're
- 19:33going to see. That's OK.
- 19:35Let's move on to the next one at. #5.
- 19:39And #5 we have Jordan Eberle line one, power play one.
- 19:43He's at a very decent season this year.
- 19:46I think the fact that Lafreniere has a four games this coming
- 19:50week and four games the next week versus Eberly who has four
- 19:53games this week, three games next week and all the stuff we
- 19:56just said. I think it's safe to say that
- 19:58Kevin and I are confident in Lafreniere over Eberly.
- 20:01Not to say it's not close though.
- 20:02I mean Eberly has been pretty solid all season.
- 20:05So I think. Eberly is consistent.
- 20:07You know you're going to get is going to be around .8 points per
- 20:10game, .25 power play, points, point 2.25, slightly over two
- 20:15shots a game and not really many hits or blocks.
- 20:19So honestly, very similar to the archetype of player that, you
- 20:22know, we just spoke about Alex Lafreniere and how he's
- 20:24delivering for fantasy right now.
- 20:26Lafreniere I think has a higher point ceiling.
- 20:28I think he's on a slightly better power play.
- 20:30I think the playoff schedule and the immediate schedule of just
- 20:33like this week and next week, I think plays in his favor.
- 20:36So I prefer that over Seattle schedule.
- 20:39You just know everyone's role is secure and consistent.
- 20:43I think Laughs a little bit more volatility to him.
- 20:45And maybe that's why Josh prefers Eberly.
- 20:48But at this point of the season, I'm taking.
- 20:49Yeah. And he's on his team.
- 20:51Josh was his preferential treatment to players that are on
- 20:52his team. You heard it here first.
- 20:54It's rigged, but the but for for laugh, I think I think it's just
- 21:00a higher upset and I'm willing to take a shot when it's this
- 21:03level of player. Yeah, both really good options
- 21:06this week. Don't both have four games.
- 21:07You kind of know what you're getting.
- 21:08It's an easy way to stream points.
- 21:11Last week we recommended the stream early as a top three
- 21:13recommendation. And did it work out?
- 21:14Because I think Seattle Josh just said Seattle's dog awful.
- 21:18So I'm surprised he's going back to the well so quick.
- 21:21But when a guy like this is consistent, you have to, you
- 21:23have to mention him. Yes.
- 21:26OK, then next one we have. I thought I thought you leave
- 21:32you with like an app. Oh yeah, sorry, I'm trying to
- 21:36like, OK, I, I guess if the at is the easiest one.
- 21:39Yeah, OK. Alright, let's move on to the
- 21:42next one. #4 cool. The chemistry is gone.
- 21:48Smooth, easy, covered. It's at #4 of the New York
- 21:54Rangers, we have Will Cooley line 2, power play one.
- 21:59I'm I'm happy with Cooley over laugh on this list.
- 22:03The shots hits can be great now that he has this opportunity on
- 22:06power play 1. I love it.
- 22:08And yeah, it's line 2 now, but I wouldn't be surprised if they
- 22:11try it on line one at some point.
- 22:13It's also without Trojack. When Trocheck does come back
- 22:16from injury, it's gonna bode really well for whoever is
- 22:20playing with him. So I think it's going to be
- 22:22Laugh, Zib, Trocheck and um, and Cooley.
- 22:27I think it's gonna be kind of like a 22-ON line 1 and line 2,
- 22:31you know what I mean? They're gonna make that work.
- 22:33And those are probably going to be the top.
- 22:35Yeah. Those are gonna be the top 4 on
- 22:37power play, one with Adam Fox on defenseman.
- 22:38So yeah, the reason he's higher than last year.
- 22:41Better shots, better hits. I like it.
- 22:43He's, I drafted this guy in the sixth round of our League of
- 22:46Record draft and people made fun of me.
- 22:47They said it was a huge reach and it was a huge reach at the
- 22:49time. But he has delivered.
- 22:52This guy is a is a banger stud, like we saw what he did last
- 22:57season. His role this season has
- 22:58increased. If you're able to pick him up
- 23:00going into the playoffs. He is currently 39% owned.
- 23:03So he's just making the cut into this 40% threshold that we have
- 23:06here. I I love this guy.
- 23:09I've been waiting for him to be a playoff monster for me since
- 23:11the beginning. Since I drafted him over the
- 23:14last month, he's averaging three shots, three hits.
- 23:16Now he's getting the points exposure to.
- 23:19I do think that he is at risk of getting bumped off power play 1.
- 23:22I think they could prefer gay parade there over him just to
- 23:25see what the young kids can do. I guess that's fair.
- 23:27But I would not be surprised if they want to use Cooley as like
- 23:30that that that front presence. But he's he would still be the
- 23:33same spot on this list even if he was power play 2 in my eyes,
- 23:36because I do think that he has just so much value to to bring.
- 23:39It's a we try to include bangers guys on this top ten points list
- 23:43when they're really valuable, and I think we'll Cooley fits
- 23:46that mold perfectly. So if you have the opportunity
- 23:49to pick him up, if you're in a bangers league where you hang
- 23:51your management, after all, I will he he'd be an express
- 23:55pickup for me for what he can do for your team come fantasy
- 23:57playoffs. Yeah, Yeah.
- 24:00I think it's, I think it's really, it's a really good one.
- 24:03And I, I mean, we've said this countless times and I'll say it
- 24:06again. Any guy that could have been on
- 24:08the Bangers recommendation but is in the points place, like the
- 24:13key fits that mold better than anybody, you know.
- 24:15And that's when you know, it's a good pickup.
- 24:17So I think it's really, really good.
- 24:19OK. Moving on to the next one.
- 24:22Number 30, that's so. Good, good, there you go.
- 24:26That I thought that I felt that one.
- 24:28That was great. OK #3 we have the Alliteration
- 24:32King. A little ode to you over the
- 24:35thought of the Columbus Blue Jackets Charlie Coyle Line 3
- 24:41power play one line 3 is never usually interesting unless
- 24:45you're the best player in the world.
- 24:48Well, I mean, honestly, like this is just been so, so
- 24:52surprising, but also just rewarding If you have him on
- 24:56your fantasy team. He's getting amazing shots.
- 24:59Pretty solid on the hits and blocks too.
- 25:01The points have been great. I mean power play exposure as
- 25:05well. Like what?
- 25:06Like it doesn't get better than this, honestly.
- 25:09And faceoffs league if you are in one of those with the right
- 25:12wing. I mean, yeah, he he should be,
- 25:15Yeah, he should be rostered, say like 50% ladies.
- 25:18Yeah, he he really. Is the factory.
- 25:20And then the four games this week, four games next week too.
- 25:24I was just gonna say, like with that, we should not be able to
- 25:27talk about them the week after. We've mentioned in so much
- 25:29already in the last few weeks he's been a player that's
- 25:32completely rejuvenated his value on the Rick bonus.
- 25:35I really love Coil. The fact that we're able to talk
- 25:37about him on this show, the fact that he's less than 40% owned is
- 25:40nuts. Go pick him up.
- 25:42This top three I think is a are all these guys or and must own
- 25:47territory at this point. Yeah, nothing much to add over
- 25:50what Jackie said like he's hitting all the categories even
- 25:52with the deployment that he has lined. 3 might seem scary, but
- 25:55he's argued the most valuable line 3 asset and fantasy.
- 25:59That's what it feels like. Yeah, yeah, it's so good.
- 26:03And I, I mean, he, you know, I was gonna say, I guess there's
- 26:08like, you know, just way more points leagues.
- 26:09But even in points leagues should be rostered like he
- 26:11should. Yeah.
- 26:12No matter what league you're in. Four games this week, four
- 26:15games. And next week, please pick up
- 26:16Charlie Coyle. You will be very happy with it.
- 26:19OK, this one's also great. We have at. #2.
- 26:26At #2 This is why we have to distinguish it.
- 26:29Be very careful with the pronunciation earlier.
- 26:32Exactly. We have Alex Laferriere of the
- 26:36Los Angeles Kings line to power play 1.
- 26:40Four games this coming week, four games the next week.
- 26:43I mean, yeah, he's just another one of those like, Bangor League
- 26:49darlings. He's been so good in that all
- 26:51season. So I mean, yeah, coming into the
- 26:53playoffs, like your fantasy playoffs, I really, really like.
- 26:56It we have talked about Laferriere many times on this
- 26:59podcast where the last few weeks after the Panarin trade, he was
- 27:02centering Panarin and Kempe. He has lost that deployment.
- 27:04He's now line 2 playing on the wing.
- 27:07But the new difference maker here is that he's finally
- 27:10getting exposure on power play one with the loss of Fiala, with
- 27:14the loss of Kuzmenko, with the loss of Byfield, he has now
- 27:17found his way onto the power plant 1 and is still a pretty
- 27:20solid unit. Like they still have their main
- 27:21guys. I mean Kopitar is there too.
- 27:24Kopitar, Panarin, Campe, Clark, Laferriere.
- 27:27This could be what is needed for him to really click because he's
- 27:30a banger league stud where he's shots his combo with elite.
- 27:34He has some face off wins to him as well, maybe less now that
- 27:37he's not on the line one. But the power play one could
- 27:40really be a big difference maker here.
- 27:42He's still an express pickup in my eyes.
- 27:45Yeah, I totally agree. And you actually like, I mean,
- 27:49Coil has been like a point per game recently, right?
- 27:51He's been tremendous over the last two weeks.
- 27:54So basically since the Olympics, Laferriere is is really not
- 27:58doing so well on the points category.
- 28:00He's about .4 points per game, yet he's still so tremendously
- 28:03valuable because of the banger cats.
- 28:05So I think if you still have the opportunity to pick him up like
- 28:08this is like has league winner written all over it for bangers
- 28:10leagues. You temporary expectations
- 28:12because the power play is not like an elite unit, but it is
- 28:14improving when Panarin, Clark and now clicking more right.
- 28:17So I'm really excited too. Yep, new code.
- 28:19Though. So that's it.
- 28:21Alright, Yeah, that's a big one. And then we all know this guy,
- 28:25yeah, which was spoken about him a few times before at #1 and #1
- 28:33the plural of Matt. We have Matt Zuccarello, line
- 28:38one power play 1, four games this week for three games the
- 28:42week after. So look, this section is for
- 28:49this coming week. And I agree that he is the best
- 28:51player for points to own this coming week.
- 28:54Who will say if I'm comfortably in the playoffs and I'm planning
- 28:58ahead? There's a world in which I'm
- 29:00taking Laferriere. Or coil or coolly, depending on
- 29:04the type of league you're in. Exactly.
- 29:07So this, I mean, we've spoken so much about Mazzarello at this
- 29:11point, it's like it's just one of those basically kind of Ryan
- 29:14O'Reilly asked. Like he's going on an absolute
- 29:16terror, yet he's still under the threshold so we could talk about
- 29:19him. The points are so consistent,
- 29:21have been all year. Really, really good.
- 29:24I just think they're going into the playoffs there are like
- 29:27this. This is like a really depending
- 29:28on where you're at, if you need to make the playoffs, pick them
- 29:30up. If you're comfortably there, I'd
- 29:32maybe lean Laferriere or Coil like you said.
- 29:35Matsu Carella is a guy that is always on this list.
- 29:38He averages .9 points per game, .3 power play points, two shots
- 29:44a game. He's on the third best power
- 29:46play in the NHL. The deployment is consistently
- 29:49surrounded by All Star talent. Minnesota is a championship
- 29:52contender. The only knock against him is
- 29:54his playoff is playoff schedule is bad.
- 29:57The Minnesota has one of the worst playoff schedules.
- 29:59It's unfortunate, but at the end of the day it's three games in
- 30:02all three. No championship weeks for weeks
- 30:0421 to 23. It's not the worst thing.
- 30:06There's no two game weeks, it's just that you're you don't get
- 30:08really many off nights and other teams have better schedules.
- 30:12But he's still so consistent and that's why he's always at the
- 30:15top of this list because if you need to win your matchup in week
- 30:1820, you know you need to stream points because your opponent has
- 30:20a good points team. Zuccarello is the guy you want
- 30:23because you know it's safe. He's got four games this week
- 30:25too. He could get you 4 points.
- 30:27You can get you 5 points. Yeah, no, I mean, he, he
- 30:30absolutely can. So it's yeah, it's it's gonna be
- 30:35interesting. We'll see how it how it shakes
- 30:38out. I mean, I think that I think
- 30:40that this is definitely the safest points points choice over
- 30:43here. OK, let's dive into our top five
- 30:48bangers for this week. I was going to say honestly like
- 30:52all these guys are so similar that I don't feel bad listening
- 30:56them. Like we can just list them 54321
- 30:59and go from there because they all have 4 game weeks.
- 31:02Hits are all of their specialties.
- 31:04Some of them are slightly better at points, but all of these guys
- 31:07are less than 20% owned. Widely available for you to
- 31:09change the match up in your hits.
- 31:10Should I just list them 54321? Sure.
- 31:14Alright, at 5 we got Jack McBain Mendoza.
- 31:18Josh almost dropped him in our in our league of record.
- 31:21He was debating making a post in Discord.
- 31:23Mean like guys, I might have to drop this guy.
- 31:26We'll talk about it. But then it #4 we got Bobby
- 31:28McMahon's newly acquired Seattle Kraken.
- 31:31Number, you could actually have some points, yeah, like here
- 31:33have anybody on this list like he could get some points.
- 31:36Yeah, he's the guy that I think is the most like your points
- 31:38actually maybe #1 depending on the week, but we'll give you a
- 31:43little bit tits on each of them #3 We got Jacob Melanson of
- 31:46Seattle #2 we got Yakov Trenin, Minnesota #1 the GOAT, the best
- 31:52player in fantasy, Matthew Olivier of the Columbus Blue
- 31:55Jackets, This guy, if you picked them up to Meme Josh or I, in
- 32:01the week that we played against him, you were heavily rewarded
- 32:03because all he did was delivered for you in the shots.
- 32:06Hit end points. It's not you look at his game
- 32:08log, it's straight zeros. Then he plays me, he's dropping
- 32:114 points. He plays Josh, he's scoring
- 32:12back-to-back games. How does this make any sense?
- 32:15Nobody knows the alleviate curse is real.
- 32:18That's it. Yeah, well said on that one.
- 32:21Melanson hits are nuts, actually nuts.
- 32:24Same archetype as Trenton. Bobby McMahon, he's the only one
- 32:28who actually has decently relevant shots, although McBain
- 32:31has his games here and there. But yeah, I mean, Bobby McMahon
- 32:35could actually get you some points, I would say.
- 32:39Although was this, let me just verify something really quickly
- 32:44before we dive deeper. But yeah, what are your thoughts
- 32:47on the other guys? I mean, to me, if you need to
- 32:49hit your streaming melon, you're streaming trending because those
- 32:52guys are like the pure his guys that will get you like four or
- 32:54five, if not more hits a game. So if you want A1 dimensional
- 32:58hitter, those are the guys you pick up.
- 32:59McBain, McMahon and Olivia have a little bit more of balance to
- 33:03them. They're his threshold is a
- 33:04little lower. It'll get you like 2 to three
- 33:06hits, but they can give you more shots.
- 33:09They all have 4 game weeks. I think Olivier, listen, we put
- 33:13him a #1 because he's a stud when he wants to be, but next
- 33:17week he's not playing Joshua right.
- 33:19So he's probably not getting any points but also get you still
- 33:22get you a lot of hits. Mcbains, Mcbains archetype has
- 33:25changed a little bit because he's not playing with Hunter
- 33:27anymore. So he's lost a little bit of
- 33:28that points upside. He's not also playing centre, so
- 33:30he's lost the faceoff upside as well, which I know for Josh was
- 33:33a big component of why he was on his team, but he still really
- 33:36good for, you know, shots, hits in that way.
- 33:40Yeah, no, I I don't have much to add there.
- 33:43I was just verifying to make sure that we had the four games
- 33:46this week, three games the following week with McMahon and
- 33:48we do because of difficult treated.
- 33:50Yeah, but yeah, listen, it's definitely interesting.
- 33:54We'll see how it goes with this list.
- 33:55I agree, Olivia makes the most sense.
- 33:57Four and four. OK, let's get into our top three
- 34:01quantity goalies. We could go through it in a
- 34:03similar way because I feel like also these are really
- 34:06tremendously, tremendously valuable.
- 34:08But I mean your call. Like them, we will rank them
- 34:12three to 1. So #1 obviously I think is the
- 34:15most valuable, then two, then three.
- 34:17But let's let's talk about them. They're all you kind of feel
- 34:19during a similar tier. But I do think number one has a
- 34:22step above the rest. These are all goalies that are
- 34:25less than 40% owned that will get you 2 starts at least this
- 34:29upcoming week. So at #3 we got Anton Forsberg
- 34:32of the LA Kings, at #2 we got Joel Hofer of the Saint Louis
- 34:35Blues. And at #1 potentially the
- 34:38starter for the Montreal Canadiens, we got Jacob Dobesh.
- 34:41So I mean, look, Dobesh, to me, I was confident in saying this
- 34:46when we spoke about him versus multiple a few weeks ago, that
- 34:48he's going to be the guy. Firmly believe that is the case.
- 34:51Although he got wrecked in his most recent game, but then
- 34:54Montebello also got wrecked in the game that he played right
- 34:57after that. So yeah, he's got 2 guaranteed
- 35:00games this week. That's Toronto, Ottawa,
- 35:02back-to-back. Hops can win either.
- 35:04Then San Jose, Anaheim back-to-back.
- 35:07I mean, that's also an interesting one, but they could
- 35:10win those games. Hoefer probably is gonna get
- 35:15yeah, he's probably gonna get 2. I think hopefully gets the
- 35:18Islanders game but sorry he probably gets the Islanders game
- 35:22then is going to get the Edmonton game.
- 35:24That would be my guess but if he doesn't start the owners name is
- 35:27probably going to Carolina in Winnipeg so then you just gotta
- 35:29monitor. But either way it's two starts
- 35:32which you want. He's been better than Bennington
- 35:34stats wise, but the Saint Louis team is is not a team that's
- 35:38going to be going into auto matchups as the favorite.
- 35:40So this is like, you know, you're looking for starts, not
- 35:43necessarily the highest quality, but uh, but he can deliver.
- 35:48Yeah, and it's not out of the range of outcomes that he gets
- 35:50through games, just saying, but unlikely.
- 35:54You'll work. I would say unlikely.
- 35:56Yeah, OK. And then, yeah, I guess Anton
- 35:59Forsberg, look, I mean. They got 2 back-to-back LA.
- 36:02Yeah, you got 2 back-to-back. So he's getting those games.
- 36:05Tough opponents, though. I mean, Boston's I guess the
- 36:08easiest one that they have this coming.
- 36:09Week it's Columbus, Boston, so I'll play one of those games and
- 36:13then Islanders New Jersey, he'll play one of those games.
- 36:15So you're hoping that he plays Boston, you're hoping that he
- 36:18plays New Jersey, but either way, the Kings are kind of like
- 36:21on a downward spiral spiral right now.
- 36:23He did get a shout out not too long ago.
- 36:26Yeah, it's yeah. Before.
- 36:27Before the fire, before the fire teller.
- 36:29Yeah, before, before, before. Yeah, I think, I think these
- 36:33guys are ranked in the odds that I would say of how likely they
- 36:37are to get a win because I think, yeah, Dobesh is gonna get
- 36:40the most wins. That's why that number one, I
- 36:42think is a clear step above the two other guys.
- 36:44The other the other two guys would put in a similar tier.
- 36:47Yeah, yeah, I I concur, but pick up Dobesh for sure Yeah and then
- 36:53let's get into our top three quality goalies.
- 36:56All list these ones off but really I mean Dobesh or whole
- 37:01Farrah would definitely rather over these three.
- 37:04Just just want to give a good. Profession.
- 37:05These are spots. Sports stars.
- 37:08Exactly. They're gonna get you one game
- 37:09this week. Less than 40% owned.
- 37:13Top three quality goalies. Devin Cooley at #3 #2 we have
- 37:17David Riddick and then #1 Phillip Grubauer.
- 37:21Grubauer. Grubauer could win either of
- 37:23these. Games over Florida.
- 37:24So let's go in order. Coolies got Calgary got
- 37:28back-to-back with Washington and the Rangers.
- 37:30I think both of those teams not as intimidating as they once
- 37:33were let's say, but Calgary is not one of the best teams
- 37:36either. But Cooley has some quality in
- 37:38him like we've seen him post. Like really good statistics even
- 37:41if the team is losing, he is #3 on this list.
- 37:44Just cause I think you're not. You're not.
- 37:45When you're streaming a spot start you always want to try to
- 37:48bank on getting a win and I think these other two goalies
- 37:51probably give you better odds at that and that's why they're
- 37:53ranked higher. David Riddick.
- 37:55Ireland has got a back-to-back, it's LA or Calgary and I would
- 38:00hope they get Calgary because that feels like, you know, the
- 38:02easier matchup to win. LA is also not super
- 38:05intimidating. The Islanders are actually
- 38:07pretty good and Riddick has not been bad in spot starts this
- 38:11season. So I think he's got over 50%
- 38:13chance of winning either of those games.
- 38:15And then I think Grubauer is the guy that, you know, Seattle is
- 38:17still fighting for a playoff spot.
- 38:19He you know, he pushed the cord for the starting position
- 38:22earlier this year, right? Like he he had a stretch of
- 38:25games where he was like really elite.
- 38:27We set kind of said it was like a it was a run that was going to
- 38:29come to an end and it did. But the Seattle team against
- 38:33either Vancouver or Florida, that's the back-to-back they
- 38:36have so, you know, started one of those games, both teams not
- 38:38really intimidating. Florida's kind of punting at the
- 38:40deadline. Vancouver is arguably the worst
- 38:41team in the league. I would be comfortable starting
- 38:43him against either of those teams and Bank gonna win.
- 38:48Well said. Not much to add there.
