- speaker-0: The enemy has laid a minefield of deception out there for our young people, and it's enormous. I I think in the history of of humanity, ⁓ never has there been more deception for young people than there is today. speaker-1: So, Chuck, you use the idea of taking the red pill to wake people up. And what are some of the biggest spiritual blind spots that you see in Christian families today? speaker-0: that that's a really good question. ⁓ I I would say so one thing I'm extremely passionate about is ⁓ apologetics. ⁓ I I think that ⁓ we we need to wake up and realize that that ⁓ we we talked about marriage, key part of that. The next the next key part of it is to know that the enemy has laid a minefield of deception out there for our young people. And it's enormous. I I I think in the history of of humanity. ⁓ never has there been more deception for young people than there is today. And so ⁓ man, mom and dad, we have got to be diligent. We have got to be purposeful. We have got to be on our game in order to help our kids navigate the minefield of deception that's out there. ⁓ you know, I I I you heard me quote the 80% ⁓ of young people walking away from their faith. Well, Dr. Steven Myers ⁓ did additional research and said, Well, what are what are young people? That are walking away from their faith. What are they, what reason are they given? ⁓ giving for that? And he discovered that sixty-five percent of those that did walk away will cite science as the number one reason for leaving their faith. Wow. So ⁓ now I'm an engineer. I love science, I love physics, I love all of that. So this is near and dear to my heart. I'm very, very passionate about it. And I think that parents are ill prepared to deal with with the onslaught of the deception that the enemy is throwing at them in in the world of science and and what's being taught. In all of our schools, in all of our museums, just everywhere. It is it is I I I believe it believe it is the single most successful lie that the enemy has told in modern day is that of evolution. And so it is ravaging our youth with ⁓ this attrition rate that we're seeing. And I think we've gotta do better. I think we've gotta really shore up our faith ⁓ in in the faith in our kids through through multiple ways. ⁓ and and it's very, very doable. I I teach a a session on apologetics, like I said. This is where I get really passionate because I just I'm I'm tired of losing young people to the enemy. And we've we there's there's definitely things we can do to stop that. speaker-1: Yeah, I love that. And you know, we have the the privilege and the benefit with homeschooling that we can teach science through a biblical worldview. And it's completely blown my mind as a public school kid and then a public school teacher. Then I'm teaching my kids science. And it's like it it is so fascinating because because it doesn't, it doesn't get rid of science, right? It just proves that God is the creator of all things and it's so cool. And so we we really do have a benefit. But I what I think where we go wrong, and I talked about this a little bit in another podcast. The the last one with Seth Gruber is we kind of think that we need to just teach our kids Jesus loves you, right? We sing Jesus loves you, Jesus loves you, we teach them the salvation message. And then that's kind of it. And the thing is, is we're losing kids because that's that's just the foundation, right? That's just the very foundation of what we're teaching our kids. But if we don't build something upon that that they can stand on when the world does come at them with these lies, which, like you said, is the apologetics, is the teaching everything from a biblical worldview. Then they get out in the world. And you know what? There's a lot of people. I mean, the enemy's gonna use those lies to say, yeah, Jesus loves you, but all of these other lies, right? Yeah, Jesus loves you, but you can also be a different gender. And so, like you said, one of the greatest lies was this evolution thing. And the problem is, is we didn't step into that battle. We just said, ⁓ it's just one little thing in the public schools they're teaching. We'll just correct it at home. But when you teach a kid that they have no, you know, they're created from goo and they're not created on purpose for a purpose. Then why can't they be a cat?
