- 0:07Speaker 1: Hi, and welcome back to Normally, the show with normalist
- 0:10Speaker 1: takes from when the News gets weird. I'm Carol Markowitz
- 0:13Speaker 1: with my guest host Stephen Miller. Today you can catch
- 0:17Speaker 1: Stephen on x as, Red Ste's and the Versus Media
- 0:21Speaker 1: podcast on substack. Hi, Steven, so nice to have you on.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Yeah, you have to clarify that one, right, It's.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Like not that Stephen Miller, Yeah, the other Stephen Miller.
- 0:33Speaker 2: I'm the one with the better looking and i'd like
- 0:35Speaker 2: to say more hair, except my hair's pretty short right
- 0:38Speaker 2: now for summers. So I've been like sitting here wondering
- 0:41Speaker 2: when I was going to be a guest, and then
- 0:42Speaker 2: out of the blue, You're like, no, come co host.
- 0:44Speaker 1: And we don't have guests, so you would have been
- 0:46Speaker 1: waiting a really long time.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Okay then and you were like, hey come, you know,
- 0:51Speaker 2: yeah for you know, Mary Catherine m h and those
- 0:54Speaker 2: are giant shoes to step into.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I'm not sure you're up for it.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I mean, we'll see already know. I'm not up for it.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I'm going to this show so bad.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Well, we are fans of yours on here normally, and
- 1:07Speaker 1: we actually quote you quite often, so this is a
- 1:10Speaker 1: perfect fit. Other than again, you're not as good as
- 1:13Speaker 1: Mary Catherine, but you know you're You're okay, You're okay.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Who is really so?
- 1:18Speaker 1: Graham Platner won the US Senate primary to be the
- 1:23Speaker 1: Democratic candidate from Maine last night. It wasn't surprising. He
- 1:28Speaker 1: was really the only major candidate running after Janet Mills,
- 1:32Speaker 1: the governor, had dropped out. Are you surprised that the
- 1:35Speaker 1: Democrats have nominated a guy with a Nazi tattoo?
- 1:38Speaker 2: No, nothing that those guys do over there surprises me
- 1:43Speaker 2: these days. I think the background on him is more
- 1:47Speaker 2: fascinating than the guy himself. There's just to me, there's
- 1:51Speaker 2: not much there. I saw a great post where someone said, up,
- 1:54Speaker 2: this guy wasn't running for office, you'd be telling the
- 1:56Speaker 2: police to keep an eye on him. And you know,
- 2:00Speaker 2: more and more comes out. I've said this. I think
- 2:03Speaker 2: he's probably the most focused grouped candidate in history. And
- 2:08Speaker 2: I think James Tolerico's creepy preacher Eli Sunday Act in
- 2:11Speaker 2: Texas is next. And so you had a guy who's
- 2:14Speaker 2: recruited by two you know, socialist activists that are now
- 2:16Speaker 2: getting some attention for just how creepy they are coming
- 2:20Speaker 2: off in an interview with Walter so weird.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Let's let's actually play that clip before we go further. Yeah,
- 2:25Speaker 1: I think I'm sorry we're going to have to hear
- 2:27Speaker 1: that guy's boys. But this is from a Wall Street
- 2:29Speaker 1: Journal report by Aaron Zitner on the activist and Bernie
- 2:31Speaker 1: staffers who handpicked Platner for the main US Senate. Their
- 2:36Speaker 1: names are Daniel Morath and his fiance Leanne Fenn. And
- 2:40Speaker 1: your ears are going to hurt from the way this
- 2:43Speaker 1: guy speaks. Let's play the clip.
- 2:44Speaker 3: We've paid a nice firm a whole chunk of money
- 2:46Speaker 3: and got some stuff back. Some of what you've seen
- 2:51Speaker 3: on the news we got back. Other stuff we did.
- 2:53Speaker 4: And did the vetting process turn up the tattoo that
- 2:58Speaker 4: became so controversial here? No, the Reddit posts? Did that
- 3:04Speaker 4: turn up in the vetting process?
- 3:10Speaker 3: Mhm. The firm sent us a thing and it had
- 3:15Speaker 3: some of the pass but it didn't have all of them.
- 3:20Speaker 4: And what did you think about that? How did you
- 3:23Speaker 4: how did you think your way through the fact that
- 3:26Speaker 4: he had posted these things on social media?
- 3:29Speaker 3: I said, none of this well or should stop him
- 3:31Speaker 3: from becoming a US center.
- 3:34Speaker 1: How is that his real voice.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I feel like I'm in I'm in a Nathan Fielder
- 3:38Speaker 2: skit with that, I can't believe these people are real.
- 3:43Speaker 2: And yeah, these these people, these guys. And what's interesting
- 3:47Speaker 2: is that these guys they put they posted themselves as
- 3:50Speaker 2: like outsiders of the d n C. I mean, these guys,
- 3:53Speaker 2: these guys are the elite of the elite. He would
- 3:54Speaker 2: to Yale and he's, you know, he's upper class and
- 3:57Speaker 2: he's he is a Bernie Sanders elitist, which so these
- 4:00Speaker 2: people are, and you know he's you know, they didn't
- 4:05Speaker 2: vet his tattoo, and they go and the funniest thing there,
- 4:07Speaker 2: what about the Reddit posts? And not all of them? Okay,
- 4:09Speaker 2: which ones was one? Was it the one where you
- 4:12Speaker 2: wish a purple heart recipient dead? Or women should take
- 4:14Speaker 2: responsibility for their own rapes? And so you know, they've
- 4:18Speaker 2: molded Platner to appear like every man working Joe, and
- 4:22Speaker 2: Platner himself is an elite. And so they also they
- 4:25Speaker 2: also found this guy Osbourne in Nebraska who was very
- 4:28Speaker 2: similar archaetype to what Platner is. He has tattoos, he's
- 4:32Speaker 2: a veteran, he was a union leader, and so they
- 4:35Speaker 2: have a very specific mold in mind, and because they realize, oh,
- 4:40Speaker 2: you know, crap, we're losing white men and that's the
- 4:43Speaker 2: demographic that's going to kill us, because there still are
- 4:46Speaker 2: a lot of us out there. And so that they
- 4:48Speaker 2: find this guy who has this gruff sounding voice and
- 4:51Speaker 2: he's got the mustache and he's you know, he looks like,
- 4:55Speaker 2: you know, diabetes person, you know, in his in his prime.
- 5:00Speaker 2: And what they've done is focus grouped what they think
- 5:04Speaker 2: a white man is, right, instead of instead of finding
- 5:08Speaker 2: a normy white man, what they have is they put
- 5:11Speaker 2: this guy into kind of the brundle fly transporter pod
- 5:14Speaker 2: and what they what they come out with is who
- 5:16Speaker 2: they think white working men are and who the Democratic
- 5:20Speaker 2: Party in our media have been portraying white men for
- 5:23Speaker 2: the last ten to fifteen years as a hazard, the
- 5:26Speaker 2: veterans of stupid wars who are also white supremacists. Also
- 5:29Speaker 2: toxic masculinity, which involves sexual assault, abuse of women. This
- 5:33Speaker 2: is the art, This is the prototype of what the media,
- 5:36Speaker 2: the Democratic Party thinks will take it. We want this, Yeah,
- 5:41Speaker 2: they're there. They genuinely believe plant is going to relate nationally,
- 5:46Speaker 2: not just in Maine, because again he has tattoos, and
- 5:49Speaker 2: he's a toxic masculine man with you know, abuse allegations,
- 5:52Speaker 2: and he's a rapist, and he's also a white supremacist
- 5:55Speaker 2: with the apparently right. That's who they think white men are.
- 5:59Speaker 2: That's who they telling us white men are for the
- 6:01Speaker 2: last ten or so years. And so, you know, I
- 6:05Speaker 2: saw this comment where says they fundamentally cannot win on
- 6:08Speaker 2: their ideas. Even after the twenty twenty four election, they
- 6:12Speaker 2: didn't They didn't even move an inch on gender issues.
- 6:15Speaker 2: They didn't make an inch on immigration, and so if
- 6:18Speaker 2: you're not going to change your issues, you have to
- 6:20Speaker 2: prepackage your candidates. So again you get this rough white
- 6:24Speaker 2: guy who can shoot and curse and he eats meat
- 6:26Speaker 2: on camera. And you know, this is kind of also
- 6:29Speaker 2: the Tim Waltz phenomenon right where they picked Tim Waltz
- 6:32Speaker 2: and they call him coach and he's out there it's
- 6:35Speaker 2: camouflage and he can change an air filter on a car.
- 6:38Speaker 2: And then it turns out the guy's jazz hands. Elmer
- 6:40Speaker 2: Fudd who almost kills a guy with a shotgun standing
- 6:43Speaker 2: two is six, right, And that's what this is. And
- 6:47Speaker 2: it's very similar to also what they're doing with Tolerico
- 6:50Speaker 2: in Texas is we need, you know, a good old
- 6:53Speaker 2: boy who is you know, religious, and he's peers the
- 6:56Speaker 2: driven snow and what you have there is again one
- 6:59Speaker 2: of the most cynical attempts at running a candidate that
- 7:01Speaker 2: I've ever seen. Tall Rico was a politician. Then he
- 7:05Speaker 2: goes to seminary like three years after he's already been
- 7:08Speaker 2: in office. And I've said, the reason he's done this
- 7:12Speaker 2: is so he can reach more voters in churches. That's
- 7:15Speaker 2: the only reason he would.
- 7:16Speaker 1: That's pretty cynical.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's it's extremely cynical. But that's to me
- 7:22Speaker 2: what's going on down there as well.
- 7:23Speaker 1: So what about the just fakery around Plattner's life, the
- 7:27Speaker 1: fact that his mom is his only oyster farm client,
- 7:31Speaker 1: the fact that his parents bought in my house. I mean,
- 7:33Speaker 1: do Democrats really just not care about any of this?
- 7:36Speaker 1: Is it like the communist Bernie Sanders having three houses?
- 7:40Speaker 1: Who cares?
- 7:41Speaker 2: Yeah? I think that when Mam Donnie won in New York,
- 7:46Speaker 2: this was the embrace. You know, Mam Donnie is the
- 7:49Speaker 2: guy that Barack Obama always wish he could be publicly right,
- 7:53Speaker 2: Obama kind of had to hide his Marxist bona fides
- 7:57Speaker 2: and Mam Donnie basically runs on Champagne Marxism during his campaign.
- 8:03Speaker 2: You know, he got married, and he could have had
- 8:06Speaker 2: like a small venue if he really was this kind
- 8:08Speaker 2: of high sparrow act that Bernie Sanders does. He could
- 8:11Speaker 2: have had like a small wedding in a brooklyn Borough
- 8:13Speaker 2: and had a few people there and say, hey, well,
- 8:15Speaker 2: I'm not going to spend a ton of money. No,
- 8:17Speaker 2: what does he do? He flies a private jet back
- 8:19Speaker 2: to Uganda where his parents live, and obviously his father
- 8:23Speaker 2: was a famous professor, his mother is one of the
- 8:26Speaker 2: most famous filmmakers internationally in the world. And they had
- 8:30Speaker 2: this blowout wedding at their compound in Uganda, complete with
- 8:34Speaker 2: armed security guards with AK forty seven's And he's a
- 8:38Speaker 2: guy your face, you know, And so it's not the
- 8:43Speaker 2: Bernie Sanders poor guy act anymore. They really are embracing
- 8:46Speaker 2: this kind of Champagne Nepo Marxism and they're waving their
- 8:50Speaker 2: flag proudly with it. And so my thing with Platner
- 8:54Speaker 2: is you just have to tell the truth about the
- 8:55Speaker 2: guy and let him, you know, tell people, how did
- 8:59Speaker 2: you change all of this wait a minute, you're not
- 9:01Speaker 2: really an oyster farmer. You only you know far oisters
- 9:05Speaker 2: for your mother who gave you a house. And this
- 9:08Speaker 2: is a guy who piled around in Washington, d C.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Prior to putting on this facade. And another example of
- 9:16Speaker 2: this is Alexandria Casio Cortez. People always hit her for
- 9:19Speaker 2: being a bartender. Well she's not. She went she went
- 9:22Speaker 2: to Boston and she interned for Ted Kennedy, right, and
- 9:26Speaker 2: then you know, she moves back to New York and
- 9:28Speaker 2: she puts on this activist front and it's probably going
- 9:31Speaker 2: to lead to a presidential campaign. And so this is
- 9:34Speaker 2: just them waving this out in the open. They don't
- 9:36Speaker 2: care anymore. And the Bernie wing has a message stranglehold
- 9:41Speaker 2: on that party.
- 9:41Speaker 1: What about the me too stuff? And you know, before
- 9:44Speaker 1: we actually even get to Platner, there's a second former
- 9:47Speaker 1: Capital staffer has confirmed a past romantic relationship with James
- 9:51Speaker 1: tell Rico. Like I thought, dating staffers was completely unacceptable,
- 9:56Speaker 1: and a bunch of guys got fired for that kind
- 9:59Speaker 1: of thing during Meat Too. And then of course you
- 10:01Speaker 1: have the Platinum story that The Wall the New York
- 10:04Speaker 1: Times really tried to wash for him. And there's a
- 10:07Speaker 1: story in the Free Press today with more details about it,
- 10:11Speaker 1: just how much he lied about and more texts from
- 10:14Speaker 1: Lindsay Feffeld that we're already out and she had produced
- 10:19Speaker 1: them for the New York Times and they never ran
- 10:22Speaker 1: them or talked about it at all. So what do
- 10:25Speaker 1: the Democrats care about it at this point? If it's
- 10:27Speaker 1: not you know, his actual working class background, and they
- 10:31Speaker 1: don't care that he has a Nazi tattoo, and they
- 10:34Speaker 1: don't care about the me too stuff, What does actually matter?
- 10:38Speaker 2: A power? And that was on that was demonstrated with
- 10:41Speaker 2: the John Fetterman campaign. And I've compared both of these
- 10:45Speaker 2: instances where you know, we're going to run a guy
- 10:47Speaker 2: who is a stroke victim, who wasn't campaigning for months
- 10:52Speaker 2: while they prop his you know, camera thurs leble wife
- 10:54Speaker 2: up and you know they said, don't even ask questions.
- 10:58Speaker 2: You saw when Dasha Burns interviewed him him, Kara Swisher
- 11:01Speaker 2: went on a cry bully tirade against her because it
- 11:04Speaker 2: was just about capturing the Senate And there were no
- 11:07Speaker 2: videos ever a Fetterman on the campaign trail. And there
- 11:11Speaker 2: are rumors that I've I've heard from people Slash sources
- 11:14Speaker 2: that journalists covering the Feederman campaign were told not to
- 11:17Speaker 2: videotape him or use the record device on their phone
- 11:21Speaker 2: by the campaign, and journalists complied with that, and because
- 11:24Speaker 2: you know, of course he did. Yeah, and so Fetterman wins,
- 11:27Speaker 2: you know, they get him across the finish line, and
- 11:30Speaker 2: then it's we can control this guy. You know. He
- 11:32Speaker 2: goes off to Walter Reid and Alex Gentilsen, who formerly
- 11:35Speaker 2: Harry Reid's lead operative. He kind of takes over that
- 11:39Speaker 2: role as acting senator. And so their attitude is if
- 11:42Speaker 2: we can, if we can get Federman elected, we can
- 11:44Speaker 2: get anybody elected. And I'm more bullish on Plantner than
- 11:48Speaker 2: a lot of people are. Susan Collins is seventy three
- 11:50Speaker 2: years old. She doesn't look great, she doesn't talks, and
- 11:54Speaker 2: that might yet the voters might just go, she's too
- 11:57Speaker 2: old to serve. Here, here's a younger, you know, healthier look,
- 12:00Speaker 2: human heat and grand Plantner, and that might be all
- 12:03Speaker 2: all she wrote.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Right, Although Susan Collins has been traditionally very hard to beat.
- 12:08Speaker 1: So if there is anyone that can take that can
- 12:12Speaker 1: win this and can take him out, it's going to
- 12:14Speaker 1: be her, but I agree with you not to take
- 12:16Speaker 1: him too lightly. I think a lot of people are
- 12:19Speaker 1: thinking it's a done deal. I did the same thing
- 12:21Speaker 1: tall Rico less so like I think he's got a
- 12:24Speaker 1: much tougher road in Texas. But you just never know
- 12:28Speaker 1: on an off year election, if the president is unpopular,
- 12:32Speaker 1: if people are voting against the president and the opposition
- 12:35Speaker 1: party is obviously more motivated to do that, you just
- 12:38Speaker 1: don't know what will happen. And so I don't know.
- 12:42Speaker 1: I think that taking the Platners and the tall Ricos
- 12:45Speaker 1: of the world seriously is important. I hope Republicans do that.
- 12:48Speaker 1: It's hard to see Republican strategy right now, and I'm
- 12:51Speaker 1: not sure where they're going to go with this.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Maybe always right, we're praying now Talla Rica's the one
- 12:58Speaker 2: out here saying no, no, no, I'm the one praying yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 2: You know, demographics are changing, and so people look at
- 13:06Speaker 2: it and go, well, there's no way this guy can
- 13:08Speaker 2: win in Texas well when you import one third of
- 13:10Speaker 2: the population from California because of COVID. Yeah, and you
- 13:13Speaker 2: see every city in Texas is going blue even for it.
- 13:17Speaker 2: We're Dallas now is skewed blue. With a Democratic mayor,
- 13:21Speaker 2: is the question becomes, you know, Texas has one of
- 13:24Speaker 2: the largest, if not the largest, rural populations in the country,
- 13:27Speaker 2: and is it still enough of those people that can
- 13:29Speaker 2: overcome you know, blue cities like Austin or San Antonio,
- 13:33Speaker 2: or Houston or Dallas, which are all basically Democrat run enclaves.
- 13:38Speaker 1: It's just so bizarre that those people would move to
- 13:41Speaker 1: Texas and be like, you know what we should do,
- 13:43Speaker 1: get more of what we just left. You know, I
- 13:47Speaker 1: know what happens. I mean, but look, Florida's sort of
- 13:49Speaker 1: the anomaly here where Florida got redder as people moved here,
- 13:53Speaker 1: and I don't get why that isn't the case everywhere.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I've talked about this book a lot. It's called The
- 13:59Speaker 2: Colorado Blue and it lays out exactly how Colorado went
- 14:04Speaker 2: from a red state. You know, in the nineties they
- 14:06Speaker 2: had a Republican governamed Bill Owens who almost ran for president,
- 14:10Speaker 2: that's how successful he was, to Colorado is now you know,
- 14:14Speaker 2: a solid blue state in ways that Portland and Seattle are,
- 14:19Speaker 2: and it's literally probably the bluest state in the middle.
- 14:23Speaker 2: That's the only blue state in the middle of the country.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Say for Minnesota, and it documents exactly how it became
- 14:30Speaker 2: this far left, you know state, which is you again,
- 14:34Speaker 2: you imported a lot of the California population as well
- 14:37Speaker 2: as New Mexico and others into cities like Denver, and
- 14:40Speaker 2: the population in Denver has grown such that it overtakes
- 14:44Speaker 2: the rural areas like you know, Pueblo. And interesting about
- 14:47Speaker 2: Colorado is it has the bluest city in the country
- 14:49Speaker 2: in Boulder, Colorado, and then it has Colorado Springs, which
- 14:53Speaker 2: is like the reddest, most religious city in the country.
- 14:56Speaker 2: And that's kind of just what happens. They moved from
- 14:59Speaker 2: pl to place and they overtake politically, they overtake what
- 15:03Speaker 2: whatever opposition is in their way, and they make it.
- 15:05Speaker 2: There is another thing that does that as a virus.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Is Colorado Spring still the reddest place in the country.
- 15:14Speaker 2: It might. I don't know. I haven't been there in years,
- 15:16Speaker 2: but that's that's what it was famous for.
- 15:19Speaker 1: So I worked on originally the Peak Corps campaign and
- 15:23Speaker 1: Colorado Springs in two thousand and four. It was super
- 15:25Speaker 1: super red, but I was there like two years ago
- 15:28Speaker 1: and it did not seem that red anymore.
- 15:30Speaker 2: So, Yeah, it went from like that's to give you
- 15:33Speaker 2: an idea of people who don't know. Colorado Spring was
- 15:35Speaker 2: where mel Gibson premiered the passion of the Christ right
- 15:39Speaker 2: right everywhere in the world he could have done that,
- 15:41Speaker 2: that's where he chose to do that. And so yeah,
- 15:44Speaker 2: I mean I haven't been there in years, but you know,
- 15:46Speaker 2: demographics change, and yeah, inevitably, if you know, Denver is
- 15:51Speaker 2: now a stronghold of progressive policies that we see happening
- 15:55Speaker 2: in places like Seattle and Portland, and so it just
- 15:59Speaker 2: becomes a population bomb. And that's that's what you have
- 16:01Speaker 2: to watch for in places like Texas and Florida. And
- 16:04Speaker 2: the Democratic Party plays the long game. They really do, Yeah,
- 16:08Speaker 2: because they had it once before, they had Ann Richards
- 16:10Speaker 2: as a governor and it wasn't so red. And then
- 16:13Speaker 2: again now these cities are growing and they're all growing blue.
- 16:17Speaker 1: All right, On that very negative note, we're going to
- 16:20Speaker 1: take a short break and come right back with.
- 16:22Speaker 2: More on Normally, Always the Optimist.
- 16:25Speaker 1: More on Normally it's guest host Stephen Miller. We are
- 16:32Speaker 1: back on Normally with my guest co host, Stephen Miller.
- 16:36Speaker 1: He is red steas on X. Check him out if
- 16:38Speaker 1: you're not following. That's absolutely crazy, because his account is
- 16:42Speaker 1: one of the absolute best. We're going to talk about
- 16:44Speaker 1: violence in the UK. In North Belfast two days ago
- 16:51Speaker 1: there was an attempted beheading on the street. The suspect
- 16:54Speaker 1: is named Hattie l Odd and originally they said he
- 16:59Speaker 1: was from some turned out he was from Sudan. And
- 17:03Speaker 1: the victim is Stephen Ogilvie. He survived but has catastrophic injury,
- 17:08Speaker 1: including the loss of one eye. And the real story here,
- 17:12Speaker 1: obviously Stephen is Republicans pounce, Conservatives pounds, Donald Trump pounces,
- 17:17Speaker 1: and that's been the case, you know, with every kind
- 17:21Speaker 1: of story like this, which is don't pay attention to this.
- 17:25Speaker 1: It's only conservatives making this a story. But I've seen
- 17:29Speaker 1: footage from Belfast and they seem kind of mad.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and now they're being called the right wing extremists
- 17:35Speaker 2: for going out and protesting. And there's a little you know,
- 17:39Speaker 2: the white populations in Europe are more prone to writing
- 17:42Speaker 2: than we are over here. You know, we're busy, we
- 17:45Speaker 2: have you know, jobs and watch and so they don't
- 17:49Speaker 2: really have all of that stuff over there. So they
- 17:51Speaker 2: love a good soccer riot as it goes. Yeah, I
- 17:55Speaker 2: mean the reason the stuff resonates, and I think more
- 17:58Speaker 2: so than it has in recent years. And I'm not
- 18:02Speaker 2: kind of one of these immigration doomers, right, I'm not.
- 18:06Speaker 2: I'm not Daniel day Lewis in gangs of New York
- 18:08Speaker 2: trying to kick out all of the Irish or anything.
- 18:10Speaker 2: But one of the but these the things about these
- 18:14Speaker 2: incidents is that the media doesn't understand why they resonate.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Is they the media chooses which cases to highlight and
- 18:22Speaker 2: which not to. And so when you have, you know,
- 18:27Speaker 2: five years of race riots because of George Floyd, and
- 18:30Speaker 2: then you have victims who are not of that ethnicity
- 18:33Speaker 2: or whatever it is, get ignored, that's where you get
- 18:36Speaker 2: this kind of you know, nationalist backlash. And again, this
- 18:41Speaker 2: is something like the political left doesn't understand as well
- 18:43Speaker 2: as our media is race is everything to them. This was,
- 18:46Speaker 2: you know, spoken in a meeting at the New York
- 18:48Speaker 2: Times around the time of the Floyd riots. And they
- 18:51Speaker 2: continue to make everything about race, mostly when most of
- 18:54Speaker 2: us have kind of moved on. And so that's when
- 18:57Speaker 2: you get these kind of visceral counter narratives. I said,
- 19:00Speaker 2: I'm not one of these guys where I'm bent on
- 19:03Speaker 2: highlighting every instance of crime by migrants. But I understand,
- 19:07Speaker 2: I understand why the murder of a Ukrainian girl on
- 19:10Speaker 2: a bus resonates, or Laken Riley resonates, or we had
- 19:14Speaker 2: this woman in Chicago who was murdered by a Venezuelan national,
- 19:18Speaker 2: and people see who gets the special treatment in protection
- 19:20Speaker 2: from the media, and generally one political party or Isle
- 19:24Speaker 2: or side with London. And so we saw Cure Starmer's
- 19:27Speaker 2: reaction calling, you know, this incidant the death of Henry Novak,
- 19:31Speaker 2: which the other.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Story, right, this happened in England, and it was a
- 19:37Speaker 1: white man was stabbed by a Sikh and when the
- 19:41Speaker 1: police arrived, the Sikh told the police that there had
- 19:45Speaker 1: been a racist incident and Henry Noak was on the
- 19:49Speaker 1: ground saying I've been stabbed. In his video the policeman
- 19:53Speaker 1: putting him in handcuffs and saying I have mate. Don't
- 19:56Speaker 1: think you.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Have mate, And that's now gone on to be.
- 19:59Speaker 1: A meme, right, that's the whole thing.
- 20:02Speaker 2: And yeah, and he died in custody, and so we
- 20:05Speaker 2: saw Cure Starmer's reaction calling it a knife crime, right,
- 20:08Speaker 2: and this guy who you know kneeled in solidarity into
- 20:11Speaker 2: Parliament for George Floyd of you can imagine it. Yeah,
- 20:14Speaker 2: but then now the UK has come out and declared
- 20:16Speaker 2: that they will still allow you know, certain ethnicities to
- 20:19Speaker 2: carry their ceremonial swords on them. So carry a gun
- 20:23Speaker 2: in Britain. There's no concealed carry. You can't carry blades
- 20:26Speaker 2: that are of a certain length. Oh but if I
- 20:28Speaker 2: say that I have religious protections, Yeah, we're gonna let
- 20:31Speaker 2: you walk down the street with a sword like you're
- 20:34Speaker 2: going after Indiana Jones, right, And so that's how you
- 20:37Speaker 2: get this. This is how you get this visceral backlash too.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Why isn't the same kind of attention being paid here? Oh,
- 20:44Speaker 2: because he's white. We saw this with this verdict in
- 20:47Speaker 2: Texas yesterday, this high school kid who was stabbed and
- 20:51Speaker 2: by a black youth who was convicted. And now they're
- 20:54Speaker 2: all out in the streets with their selfie sticks and
- 20:56Speaker 2: their cell phones creating content for TikTok to try to
- 20:59Speaker 2: create riots. And so we see this stuff and it's
- 21:02Speaker 2: kind of like, Okay, someone's getting their heads sought off
- 21:07Speaker 2: in the middle of the street. That's something we've never
- 21:09Speaker 2: seen for fifty years in Ireland. We've seen bombings and
- 21:12Speaker 2: drunken fights and stuff like that, and then we see
- 21:15Speaker 2: how the BBC puts serious incident in quotes and calls
- 21:18Speaker 2: it a minor stabbing.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Right right, let me just let me just say so,
- 21:21Speaker 1: we don't have our own riots here. It's Northern Ireland.
- 21:25Speaker 1: I think that.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Is technically the UK, right, it.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Is technically the UK. Yes, yes, yes, you can't be
- 21:32Speaker 1: calling them Ireland. It's a whole thing over there.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Okay, so I just about started an international right, Yes
- 21:39Speaker 2: it is the UK. Apologies over there. But yeah. The
- 21:45Speaker 2: thing about these incidents is is one way or another,
- 21:47Speaker 2: they're all avoidable. Yeah, that's what That's what we have
- 21:50Speaker 2: in common with you know, the Lake and Riley murder,
- 21:54Speaker 2: and that's what we have in common Ukrainian girl on
- 21:56Speaker 2: the bus and that's what you see in the UK.
- 21:59Speaker 2: These are incidence. Is you know, it's fine if we
- 22:01Speaker 2: have crime, and it's not fine. But when you again,
- 22:04Speaker 2: when I talk about importing populations, you import one third
- 22:07Speaker 2: of the population males of Syria. Yeah, and that becomes avoidable.
- 22:12Speaker 2: And you know, I think you're going to see the
- 22:15Speaker 2: pendulum swing over to like a Nigel Farash style candidate.
- 22:18Speaker 2: The problem is is once they're there, they're increasingly impossible
- 22:21Speaker 2: to leave. Yeah. Yeah, And you know when you have
- 22:25Speaker 2: things like the Rotterdamn scandal and you hear about no
- 22:27Speaker 2: go zones in the city of London, I mean that's
- 22:30Speaker 2: probably coming to a district near you in Michigan here
- 22:33Speaker 2: pretty soon, right.
- 22:34Speaker 1: And in the media is fag if it doesn't exist already,
- 22:37Speaker 1: right right.
- 22:38Speaker 2: And the media's favorite trick is to, you know, simply
- 22:41Speaker 2: tell you that if you notice this stuff, you're a
- 22:44Speaker 2: racist or you're a white supremacist. And that eventually is
- 22:47Speaker 2: going to fail, because that's one of Trump's biggest superpowers,
- 22:52Speaker 2: was bringing on the Angel Moms or whatever. And you
- 22:55Speaker 2: know that you don't have an explanation for why this
- 22:58Speaker 2: has to happen. And the Democratic Party sitting on their
- 23:01Speaker 2: hands during the State of the Union, during the Lake
- 23:04Speaker 2: and Riley thing is the optics of that they can't
- 23:07Speaker 2: get around, you know. And now we have possibly another one.
- 23:11Speaker 2: A kid in Philly was shot a block from his
- 23:13Speaker 2: house walking home after watching an NBA game. And now
- 23:17Speaker 2: he's a Penn State student and now there's a vigil
- 23:19Speaker 2: and what the media is calling protests coming for this stuff.
- 23:23Speaker 2: And so the problem they have is they talk about
- 23:26Speaker 2: wanting to reduce gun crime, and then once there's a shooting,
- 23:28Speaker 2: you have a Soros DA who doesn't give them jail
- 23:31Speaker 2: time exactly, and that's kind of the cycle that they're in.
- 23:35Speaker 2: And so you are seeing a kind of a tide
- 23:38Speaker 2: turn in Europe. And I don't live in the UK,
- 23:40Speaker 2: so you know, I know people talk that they throw
- 23:42Speaker 2: the words conquered around a lot, but we do know
- 23:45Speaker 2: that there is a problem with that over there, and
- 23:48Speaker 2: again people are starting to notice it in ways that
- 23:53Speaker 2: are unfortunate for the government over there.
- 23:55Speaker 1: The problem is, like you said, is that they can't
- 23:58Speaker 1: be honest about what's happening. I mean, there's the Washington
- 24:00Speaker 1: Post headline on this, a new wave of anti immigrant
- 24:03Speaker 1: violence hits UK as riots convulse Belfast. Is it anti
- 24:08Speaker 1: immigrant or is it anti you know, trying to chop
- 24:13Speaker 1: off somebody's head in the middle of the street. I
- 24:15Speaker 1: think it's really the second part. I'm an immigrant. I'm
- 24:18Speaker 1: not anti immigrant, but I feel strongly that the immigrants.
- 24:23Speaker 1: First of all, we need to have a system to
- 24:25Speaker 1: allow immigration, and then second of all, the immigrants that
- 24:27Speaker 1: we do allow and have to be living our values,
- 24:31Speaker 1: and not beheading our neighbors is one of those values.
- 24:35Speaker 1: So I don't see what's racist about it, and I
- 24:38Speaker 1: don't see what's anti immigrant about it. I really do
- 24:41Speaker 1: see it as anti violence, and you're not stopping the violence.
- 24:44Speaker 1: And the Henry Noak story, what made it so galling
- 24:48Speaker 1: is how the police just did not respond to him
- 24:51Speaker 1: as a person because race is so caught up in
- 24:55Speaker 1: their belief system. And now they're doing a lot of
- 24:58Speaker 1: investigation into police work there, and there's a lot of
- 25:02Speaker 1: international attention obviously on this. But this failure of policing,
- 25:07Speaker 1: it's not about immigration, it's about leftism. It's about what
- 25:10Speaker 1: they've allowed to happen on their watch. It's it's and
- 25:14Speaker 1: so this fake belief that it's about race, it's really
- 25:18Speaker 1: not unless you're saying the police are anti white and
- 25:22Speaker 1: that's the racial part here.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Yeah, you have this guy up in Michigan, I'll say
- 25:28Speaker 2: d running for I believe it's a senator. Yeah, and
- 25:31Speaker 2: you know, he was just interviewed by Kaitlyn Collins about
- 25:33Speaker 2: he's deleting old you know, or his campaign rather's deleting
- 25:36Speaker 2: social media posts, about defunding the police, and so Caitlyn
- 25:40Speaker 2: Collins has him on I think this was just last
- 25:42Speaker 2: night and says, you know, why are you deleting these posts? Right?
- 25:45Speaker 2: Do you have you changed your mind on this?
- 25:47Speaker 1: Right?
- 25:48Speaker 2: And he gives a response where he clearly has not
- 25:50Speaker 2: changed his mind. He just says, we need to reimagine
- 25:53Speaker 2: public safety, need to out of police. We don't need
- 25:56Speaker 2: every problem solved with someone holding a gun, as if
- 26:00Speaker 2: that you walk into every situation like based. And so
- 26:07Speaker 2: they haven't changed their mind on this, and that's what
- 26:09Speaker 2: I mean about. They haven't changed their policies. We're just
- 26:11Speaker 2: repackaging candidates, right, Yeah, and you I've talked about this
- 26:16Speaker 2: in my podcast. Is that there really are you plant
- 26:19Speaker 2: in tall Rico? Right? And now tall Rico's backtracking on
- 26:23Speaker 2: trans or surgeries for gender assignment surgeries for trans children.
- 26:27Speaker 2: He's saying I'm against that. No he's not. They elected
- 26:31Speaker 2: if he says it. Yeah, And so you have these
- 26:34Speaker 2: guys who are like defund the police and no, I've
- 26:36Speaker 2: changed my mind on it. Well, no you haven't. Your
- 26:39Speaker 2: talking points are the same. And it's really this is
- 26:42Speaker 2: a really interesting electoral cycle because I've said this that
- 26:45Speaker 2: it feels like speaking of workshopping candidates, that there's the
- 26:49Speaker 2: majority of the Democratic Party. You're running two types of candidates,
- 26:52Speaker 2: the hectoring sister in law like Mallory or the Islamic
- 26:57Speaker 2: mail because they don't really have any more you know, demographics,
- 27:01Speaker 2: and every time they try, you get a tall awreker,
- 27:03Speaker 2: you get a grand planner. And so they haven't changed
- 27:07Speaker 2: their philosophies, and so what you have to do is
- 27:10Speaker 2: change the talking points. And that's why you know when
- 27:14Speaker 2: everyone says woke is dead and no, no, it's not.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Yeah close. Like the second they gained power again, we're
- 27:21Speaker 2: getting all of those DEI departments welcoming back because that's
- 27:25Speaker 2: just who they are. They can't change. Now. Maybe it takes,
- 27:29Speaker 2: you know, a twenty twenty eight loss again for them
- 27:32Speaker 2: to back off some of this insanity, but right now
- 27:35Speaker 2: they're still going full speed ahead. It's also just real fast.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Why I maintained they didn't release that autopsy right because
- 27:43Speaker 2: the autopsy was going to reflect negatively on Kamala Harris
- 27:47Speaker 2: and they can't throw her overboard. Everyone wonders why she's
- 27:51Speaker 2: still the polling favorite, and I said, because she is
- 27:53Speaker 2: the Democratic Party. She is for the most part a
- 27:57Speaker 2: dei higher and that's an open secret, not being controversial.
- 28:02Speaker 2: She is a black woman, and she's a historical figure,
- 28:05Speaker 2: the first you know, African, American, Indian, Pacific Islander, Asian,
- 28:10Speaker 2: whatever she is to yeah, vice president and that's why,
- 28:13Speaker 2: you know, people, you know, I don't think she's gonna
- 28:16Speaker 2: be the nominee, but that's why she's still polling up there.
- 28:19Speaker 2: And so they haven't moved on from ideas, and so
- 28:22Speaker 2: they again they have to repackage their.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Candidates, and they're going to repackage it and move it leftward.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Woke is definitely not over. It's not even really on pause.
- 28:30Speaker 1: It's just a little quieter for now.
- 28:33Speaker 2: La Meyrial race. You know, they're running you know, Karen
- 28:36Speaker 2: Bass is like a Cuban gorilla supporter fighter that city
- 28:41Speaker 2: said she's not left enough for us, and now they're
- 28:43Speaker 2: going with the woman who you know, exploded her wealth
- 28:47Speaker 2: on homeless nonprofits. So yeah, good luck there.
- 28:51Speaker 1: All right, we're gonna take a short break and we'll
- 28:53Speaker 1: kind of come back back with one more segment of
- 28:56Speaker 1: Normally with guest co hosts Stephen Miller, and this will
- 28:58Speaker 1: be an optimistic one because why not, why not be
- 29:02Speaker 1: right back. We are back on normally, where Mary Katherine
- 29:08Speaker 1: Ham is on vacation and Stephen Miller red Stee's from
- 29:12Speaker 1: X is doing a phenomenal job filling in for her,
- 29:15Speaker 1: even though I said that he would not fill her shoes.
- 29:18Speaker 1: I feel like, you know, I feel.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Like you're hanging in much like myself who I was.
- 29:21Speaker 2: I was off from my podcast and writing this week.
- 29:24Speaker 2: I was still kind of on Twitter, and so I
- 29:26Speaker 2: still see her, you know, I see her on the
- 29:29Speaker 2: Twitter stage.
- 29:30Speaker 1: She's like on vacation, but is she really on vacation.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Yeah, people like us are just wired different. We don't
- 29:35Speaker 2: ever really log off.
- 29:37Speaker 1: It's actually a bad wiring. I wish I didn't it
- 29:40Speaker 1: wasn't like that.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Yeah, she's having some fun with the happy Europeans too.
- 29:44Speaker 1: So that's right, that's right.
- 29:45Speaker 2: So they're part of the country right now.
- 29:49Speaker 1: So yeah, I feel like she would love this story.
- 29:52Speaker 1: So we're gonna have to do it some justice. But basically,
- 29:55Speaker 1: a bunch of Europeans are here for the World Cup
- 29:57Speaker 1: and a few of them have really captured the imagination
- 30:01Speaker 1: of X. One of them is Freddie la seven. He's
- 30:04Speaker 1: been tweeting out his adventures through the southern part of
- 30:09Speaker 1: the US, and it's stuff like he went to BUCkies
- 30:12Speaker 1: and he had an amazing time and everything he sees
- 30:15Speaker 1: is like huge and awesome and he's having a real
- 30:19Speaker 1: great time.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Yeah, he's he's now getting tweeted up by jj Watt.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Oh I saw that JJ Watt invited him to his house.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Oh that's good. JJ Watt's not a big personal fan
- 30:30Speaker 2: of mine. No, we had a little bit of a
- 30:33Speaker 2: tiff that went so viral that members of my hockey
- 30:35Speaker 2: team saw it. Oh yeah, I've made front of him
- 30:39Speaker 2: wearing ninety nine in beer League hockey because ninety nine
- 30:42Speaker 2: was his football number. And so the thing is, you
- 30:45Speaker 2: don't wear ninety nine in Beer League. You just don't
- 30:47Speaker 2: do it. It's a thing with Prenson. So I kind
- 30:50Speaker 2: of I kind of joshed him a bit on it,
- 30:53Speaker 2: and he replied to me and threatened to fight me.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Wow, do you guys mean in a parking lot?
- 31:02Speaker 2: So I kind of, you know, as people, and then
- 31:05Speaker 2: I fired back with some choresy clips and stuff like that,
- 31:07Speaker 2: and then I got some pals and I got Jarvis
- 31:09Speaker 2: in on the act. And because it's a it's a
- 31:11Speaker 2: whole thing there's all the thing like you don't wear
- 31:12Speaker 2: Wayne Gretzky's number, and I guarantee his team did that
- 31:15Speaker 2: to him on purpose, Right, Hey, you're gonna wear ninety nine.
- 31:18Speaker 2: And so I think my only stance on that is,
- 31:21Speaker 2: I think I could take him on ice caps. I
- 31:25Speaker 2: think I think I could put a hip check on
- 31:28Speaker 2: him at least.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Now that we've gone through some of Redsteez's old grudges,
- 31:32Speaker 1: let's talk about happy Europeans.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yeah. This guy's his name's Freddy and he's
- 31:38Speaker 2: I believe he's from Germany and he's just going around.
- 31:40Speaker 2: He's he's doing LMAO at this at the BUCkies, and
- 31:44Speaker 2: he's going to Chili's and he's getting all of these
- 31:46Speaker 2: people like inviting him to do stuff. And it's reminiscent
- 31:49Speaker 2: of what Japanese Twitter was a few months ago, where
- 31:52Speaker 2: there was this cross pollination of Japanese Twitter and American
- 31:55Speaker 2: Twitter and they just discovered barbecue. So everyone's, you know,
- 31:58Speaker 2: telling him how to go and make barbecue. And then
- 32:01Speaker 2: we also have this Swedish influencer, Swedish Elsa Thora, and
- 32:07Speaker 2: she discovered like twenty four hour breakfast.
- 32:09Speaker 1: And ran stressing that that was a real big deal
- 32:12Speaker 1: to her.
- 32:13Speaker 2: And you know, I mentioned on Twitter, like I hope
- 32:15Speaker 2: people are prepared that this is going to be both
- 32:18Speaker 2: the best and worst thing about Twitter in the next
- 32:20Speaker 2: three months with the World Cup. Why because you're going
- 32:24Speaker 2: to get you know, you're going to get some foreigners
- 32:26Speaker 2: slamming Americans and our soccer teams not very good, and
- 32:29Speaker 2: so we're going to fight. So we're going to fire
- 32:32Speaker 2: back with you don't have air conditioning. You know, I'm
- 32:35Speaker 2: trying to take the positive tact on this. So you know,
- 32:38Speaker 2: I saw somebody on Twitter say, all of my friends
- 32:42Speaker 2: are being nice to Europeans and it's a little unset
- 32:44Speaker 2: ly right now, you know, And I told them, I said, well,
- 32:47Speaker 2: the reason we're doing this is because we're going to
- 32:50Speaker 2: give them knowledge of things, right, and they take it home.
- 32:53Speaker 2: They're going to take it back to their country, and
- 32:55Speaker 2: like I said, they're going to pollinate their country with
- 32:58Speaker 2: the knowledge of air conditioners and BUCkies and twenty for
- 33:01Speaker 2: our breakfasts and anti perspirants and you know, any any guys, yes,
- 33:08Speaker 2: any guy who takes free on back to the UK
- 33:11Speaker 2: is going to become a king, okay, And so that's
- 33:15Speaker 2: I kind of think that that's why we're we're doing this.
- 33:17Speaker 2: You know, we're welcoming in. We're hey, we are really
- 33:20Speaker 2: generous people, right, you know, we're we're a generous culture.
- 33:24Speaker 2: And you know, as we talk about immigration, we have
- 33:27Speaker 2: very long fews in this country as people. But at
- 33:31Speaker 2: the end of the day, we know it's attached to
- 33:33Speaker 2: a really big bomb, right, and so we're welcoming them in. Hey,
- 33:36Speaker 2: come on, enjoy, enjoy air condition, Enjoy spacious hotel rooms, right,
- 33:42Speaker 2: enjoy like Airbnb. And then they're also going to see
- 33:46Speaker 2: the state of the art stadiums like so far and
- 33:49Speaker 2: you know, while they're not you know, one hundred and
- 33:51Speaker 2: fifty thousand people like an Oasis concert, they're going to
- 33:55Speaker 2: you know, they're going to see these stadiums and just
- 33:56Speaker 2: be blown away by it.
- 33:57Speaker 1: And so yeah, and why not why not share the
- 34:01Speaker 1: best of our cultures? And you know, things like BUCkies
- 34:04Speaker 1: for example, stuff we take completely for granted. It's not
- 34:07Speaker 1: even like things that were like, oh you have to
- 34:09Speaker 1: go see a BUCkies. Elsa Thora, the Swedish woman. She's
- 34:13Speaker 1: tweeted currently flying over the mountains of Colorado with faster
- 34:17Speaker 1: Wi Fi than I have at home, what are we
- 34:19Speaker 1: doing wrong in Europe? The USA has completely radicalized me
- 34:22Speaker 1: within forty eight hours, and I you know, I lived
- 34:26Speaker 1: in Europe. There's a lot to like about Europe. They
- 34:29Speaker 1: have a lot of things that could be better, and
- 34:31Speaker 1: they refuse to make those things better because they see
- 34:34Speaker 1: it as like American things, and it's like, get over it.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Just take take the best parts of our culture and
- 34:41Speaker 1: incorporate it into your own.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Yeah, But instead they're taking the worst parts of our culture.
- 34:46Speaker 2: Like France's banning smoking. Yeah, you know, say what you want.
- 34:50Speaker 2: It's cool, Okay, I mean it's cool when you do it.
- 34:53Speaker 2: It looks cool when kids do it.
- 34:56Speaker 1: People without smoking is like, what do they even have
- 34:59Speaker 1: at that point?
- 35:00Speaker 2: Basically are just sitting outside for you know, seventy hours
- 35:03Speaker 2: a week and doing nothing. Now, help little class of wine.
- 35:08Speaker 2: But that'll get banned here soon too. Outdoor consumption of
- 35:10Speaker 2: alcohol probably is going to get banned.
- 35:12Speaker 4: Now.
- 35:13Speaker 1: That's when they riot. That's when the white French people.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Riot, yes, yes, or when the soccer team loses, right right,
- 35:20Speaker 2: which I think frances picked a favorite in this whole thing.
- 35:23Speaker 2: So yeah, we're nice for now, and then when our
- 35:26Speaker 2: team loses, we're probably gonna get some shade thrown at us,
- 35:28Speaker 2: and that's when we say get out.
- 35:30Speaker 1: We're going to say we don't really care. This isn't
- 35:32Speaker 1: our sport, but so glad you guys had fun.
- 35:35Speaker 2: This is good. This is a time suck for us.
- 35:37Speaker 2: All of our sports are over in summer except baseball,
- 35:40Speaker 2: and nobody really watches baseball anymore.
