- 0:00Things were so bad that Michael's parents, Jackie and
- 0:02Esther, and his sister Martha had to leave the house along
- 0:05with Martha's baby daughter Sarah Louise.
- 0:08It happened about 100 years ago. It was a baby boy that was
- 0:12smothered at birth and she said this baby like was just a
- 0:19newborn baby. Can we just get that clear?
- 0:22Michael did. Did you see it?
- 0:24Yes. You saw it.
- 0:25I did see it, yes. Galway, a city on Ireland's West
- 0:46Coast, sits where the River Korub meets the Atlantic Ocean.
- 0:51The city's hub is an 18th century Ire Square, a popular
- 0:56meeting spot surrounded by shops and traditional pubs that offer
- 1:01live Irish folk music. But Galway is known for much
- 1:06more than just beauty and entertainment.
- 1:09Like many places, it harbors dark and mysterious secrets.
- 1:16Underneath the bustle of feet walking and music playing, if
- 1:20you listen hard enough, you can hear the faint whispers of the
- 1:25dead. Our story begins here in 1996
- 1:32with the Fahey family. The last 30 years, they've
- 1:36called this council house home. Living is one big, happy family
- 1:42all together. There's Jackie Fahey, a bus
- 1:46driver for special needs children, his wife Esther, who
- 1:51works as a cook at a nearby child care center.
- 1:56And they are joined by their daughter Martha, who has
- 1:59recently given birth to a baby girl by the name of Sarah
- 2:04Louise, and their son Michael with his fiance Anne.
- 2:10In the words of Michael Fahey, with the birth of Sarah Louise,
- 2:15when she came into the house, we felt as if it was a new
- 2:19beginning. Me and Anne were in the process
- 2:23of getting married and I had just started my own business.
- 2:27It was a very happy time for the family.
- 2:30But as the family loves one another and cares for the
- 2:34newborn Sarah Louise, something else seemed to be watching them
- 2:40lurking within the walls of their home.
- 2:45A few months after Sarah Luis is born, their next door neighbors
- 2:50begin a series of renovations. The construction and it's noises
- 2:56begin to bleed over into their house as well.
- 3:00But it seems as though the baby is not the only entity that is
- 3:04disturbed several days after the renovations began.
- 3:09As Michael walks into the living room, he is hit seemingly out of
- 3:13nowhere by a horrendous smell. Describing it as smelling like
- 3:19rotten meat or rotting flesh in later interviews.
- 3:24But thinking it had to have been a deceased rodent or something
- 3:27to do with the pipes, he brings it to the attention of his
- 3:31father. Jackie too was taken aback by
- 3:35the noxious smell. Although the two do their
- 3:38absolute best to discern where the smell is coming from, it
- 3:43seems to be everywhere yet is spawning from nowhere.
- 3:49Concerned, Jackie contacts the local property authority to have
- 3:54their pipes examined for the potential cause.
- 3:58The following morning, with a knock at the door, two plumbers
- 4:03arrived to hopefully begin to figure out the cause of the
- 4:06smells and come up with a solution for the family.
- 4:11Walking inside, they asked Jackie and Michael just what
- 4:14seems to be the problem, as they explained that the smell seems
- 4:19to be everywhere yet nowhere, often times being stronger in
- 4:24certain parts of the home versus other times as if it's moving.
- 4:30They think it could have something to do with the pipes.
- 4:33They tell the men that it smells like rotting flesh or death or
- 4:38both. Pinching their noses in disgust,
- 4:43they ask the plumbers if they smell it.
- 4:46Unfazed, neither men can smell anything.
- 4:50This very much confuses the Fahes.
- 4:54Telling the men that the sin is often stronger upstairs, they
- 4:58lead them there and into the restroom.
- 5:01Michael and Jackie continue to cringe in discomfort, but the
- 5:05plumbers can't seem to smell what they're smelling.
- 5:09Confused and becoming angry, considering they've been
- 5:13smelling this rot for several days now, they ask the plumbers
- 5:17to check everything anyways, since they're already there.
- 5:22So the men do just that. They examine the toilets, pipes
- 5:27and drains, however everything is fine and in working order.
- 5:33Never once did they smell what the Fahey's had described.
- 5:39Finding this incredibly odd and realizing that if they were the
- 5:43only ones smelling whatever this was, the two plumbers must have
- 5:47thought that they were crazy. They were now more concerned
- 5:51because if the smell wasn't coming from any place checked by
- 5:55the plumbers, then just where was it coming from and just what
- 6:00was it? The smell, however, is not just
- 6:04experienced by Jackie and Michael.
- 6:07Over the next several days, it is experienced on varying levels
- 6:12by all members of the family. Feeling as if they were losing
- 6:17their minds, they begin to clean most hours of the day when they
- 6:21are home, disinfect the sinks and drains regularly.
- 6:27Alongside this, they open the windows for the fresh air.
- 6:31And yet, whether they're open or not, whether they are cleaning
- 6:35or not, the smell only continues to get worse.
- 6:40It starts to affect the family, causing them to feel sick,
- 6:45nauseous and dizzy at varying times, suffering with the smell
- 6:52for almost a month. One day it mysteriously
- 6:56vanishes, but something else equally bizarre would take its
- 7:01place. One night, as the moon hangs
- 7:06high and large over the Fahey residence and the wind rustles
- 7:11the trees outside in the darkness, Michael and his fiance
- 7:16Anne are woken up by the sounds of a baby crying.
- 7:20This normally wouldn't be a problem, but the crying is
- 7:24persistent and continuing to grow louder with each passing
- 7:28minute. Concerned as to why Martha
- 7:31wasn't taking care of her baby and irritated as most would be
- 7:36given the hour, Michael decides to get up and check on just what
- 7:41was going on. Walking down the hall, the cries
- 7:45of the infants seem to grow louder with each step he takes,
- 7:50finally reaching a fever pitch when he reaches the room that
- 7:54Sarah Louise was in. Opening the door to check on
- 7:58her, he sees Sarah fully awake and looking around the room in
- 8:03her crib. But she has a Binky in her mouth
- 8:07and the cries, which he had believed were coming from his
- 8:10niece, were still echoing all throughout and hadn't eased in
- 8:16volume or intensity. Even stranger, his sister Martha
- 8:22was sleeping as if there was nothing out of the ordinary.
- 8:27The cries continued despite Sarah Louise not making them.
- 8:31Thoroughly freaked out but unsure of how to tackle the
- 8:34situation, Michael slowly makes his way back to his bedroom
- 8:39where Anne asked him just why he didn't get Martha to take care
- 8:43of her baby. He responds with I did, I
- 8:48checked on her and it's not Sarah Louise who's crying and
- 8:53Martha is asleep. As they both look at each other
- 8:56confused and concerned, Michael suddenly begins to choke.
- 9:02He tries to scream and grabs at his throat, but nothing but
- 9:07struggle. Gasps of air come out.
- 9:10In later interviews he would say it felt as if someone was
- 9:15choking me and sitting on my chest.
- 9:19I couldn't speak, I couldn't breathe.
- 9:23Feeling as if he was going to pass out, he makes his way
- 9:26towards the mirror where on the dresser it was connected to, it
- 9:30was a rosary. Reaching desperately for it,
- 9:34he's able to clutch it just barely, and in this moment,
- 9:39whatever invisible hand that was smothering him pulled away.
- 9:45Terrified. As the cries that go all around
- 9:47them, Michael and Anne hold each other with the rosary and pray
- 9:52as hard as they possibly can in Michael's own words.
- 9:58As we prayed, the crying seemed to get worse.
- 10:02It got louder and louder, almost as if we were physically hurting
- 10:07the spirits. As the couple continues, the
- 10:11screams go from sounding like those of a young baby to
- 10:16something much scarier. It sounds as if a low toned
- 10:20person is screaming alongside the baby, as if whatever was
- 10:25mimicking this sound was being harmed by their prayers.
- 10:30They then stopped praying to listen and suddenly the crying
- 10:35had vanished. This concludes this utter horror
- 10:40of a night, but little did they know that it would be far from
- 10:44the last that the family would have to endure.
- 10:49The following morning, as Michael and Anne head into the
- 10:53kitchen together before they have a chance to speak with
- 10:56anyone, they are concerned with Jackie and Esther frantically
- 11:01searching through the drawers, asking both of them if they had
- 11:05seen the baby's bottles. The answer?
- 11:08No. Michael then asked his parents
- 11:12if they had heard the baby crying last night as well,
- 11:16saying that Sarah Luis was quiet last night.
- 11:19Jackie looks concerned, believing his son to be
- 11:23withdrawn and unlike his normal self, he asked him what he
- 11:28means. Michael answers him with there
- 11:32was a baby crying last night, but it wasn't Sarah Louise
- 11:38asking what he was talking about because the neighbors don't have
- 11:41any babies. Jackie once again inquires.
- 11:46Michael responds with saying that he believes that there may
- 11:50be something in the house and whatever this thing was may have
- 11:54just hidden the bottles as well. Jackie and Esther didn't really
- 11:59believe in any sort of an afterlife and aren't religious.
- 12:04They seem to essentially laugh off any sort of a notion that
- 12:08any of this could be attributable to a ghost,
- 12:12especially Jackie. And after Michael calls out into
- 12:16the room if there is a ghost, show us a sign.
- 12:21Receiving zero response, who walks away from his parents,
- 12:26confused and slightly embarrassed by their reactions.
- 12:31He then gets ready for work for the day.
- 12:35Later that night, however, what the couple experiences yet again
- 12:40is no laughing matter. The ghostly wails of an unseen
- 12:44child echo all throughout the house and all around Michael and
- 12:49Anne's room. Huddled together, holding one
- 12:52another yet again and praying with Michael's rosary, their
- 12:57prayers grow louder in an attempt to compete with the
- 13:00volume of the cries. Their prayers are soon
- 13:04interrupted, however, by their door opening.
- 13:07Suddenly It's Jackie asking them just what was going on, why were
- 13:13they praying and becoming louder and louder.
- 13:17Michael asked him if he too heard the baby's cries.
- 13:21Jackie would respond with all I hear is you 2 praying.
- 13:26He then scolds them both, obviously having heard nothing.
- 13:32He slams the door behind him. When he exits their room,
- 13:36Michael is left speechless. It seems like whatever entity
- 13:40residing within the home is possibly targeting him and Anne,
- 13:45and somehow, some way, the rest of his family wasn't
- 13:49experiencing what they were. Needless to say, the two
- 13:54wouldn't get much sleep that night either.
- 13:57Roughly a week later, as Jackie and Martha come back home with
- 14:01baby Sarah Louise following a doctor's appointment for her
- 14:06while the rest of the family is out of the house, the two take
- 14:10the baby upstairs to lay her down in her crib for her
- 14:14afternoon nap. Opening the door to her bedroom
- 14:17though, they are shocked by what they see.
- 14:22They're on the floor, surrounded by all of her toys, is a music
- 14:26box, and it's eerily playing it's song.
- 14:31At first Jackie blames his son and fiance, thinking they must
- 14:36be playing a trick on them to try and convince them of their
- 14:40ghost theory. He then begins to feel something
- 14:44else, something he can't so easily explain, as if he's being
- 14:50watched. He then begins to wonder if
- 14:54perhaps they could be right. The rest of the day would come
- 14:59and go. The sun would fall below the
- 15:02horizon and the moon would once again rise, casting its ethereal
- 15:08glow over the Fahey residence. As the rest of the family sleeps
- 15:14in their beds, Michael and Anne are suddenly woken up by a
- 15:19bright flashing light. Opening their eyes and
- 15:23simultaneously seeing a floating orb of swords pulsing with a
- 15:29white and yellow light within their room.
- 15:33They huddled together with Michael clutching his rosary as
- 15:37hard as he can, watching this thing move and flash before
- 15:43their very eyes. In Michael's own words, it was
- 15:48like a bright orb. It slowly dissipated, and then
- 15:52it just disappeared. Following the sighting of this
- 15:56orb, the unearthly cries begin again.
- 16:01The couple again would not sleep much this night.
- 16:06The following morning, as the Fahey sit down at the table for
- 16:10breakfast together, Michael and Anne describe to everyone just
- 16:15what they had experienced the night before.
- 16:19This starts a bit of family drama.
- 16:22Esther, although not religious, was still scared of even the
- 16:26thought of the paranormal. She begins to scold Michael as a
- 16:30result. The arguing is soon interrupted
- 16:33by Jackie, who says to his son, You promised that you didn't
- 16:38touch those toys. Michael hadn't yet been Privy to
- 16:43the information that his father and sister came home the other
- 16:47day to the toys being in a circle surrounding the music box
- 16:51in Martha and Sarah Louise's room.
- 16:55You would reply with what toys? I never touched any toys.
- 17:00In Jackie's own words. That's when I realized we have
- 17:04something going on in the house, something not normal.
- 17:10The tide of the conversation quickly shifts with this hideous
- 17:13revelation. Jackie suggests consulting a
- 17:16priest for help. Michael is worried that no one
- 17:20will believe them, so to meet somewhat in the middle, they
- 17:24decide that they will place a tape recorder in the baby's room
- 17:28to see if they can capture the supernatural cries of this ghost
- 17:31baby. That way they would have
- 17:34tangible proof that could be heard alongside their testimony
- 17:38in an effort to seek help. Later that night, as Michael and
- 17:44Jackie head upstairs to place the tape recorder in the room,
- 17:48they realize that they've left the tapes downstairs.
- 17:52They then set the recorder on one of the dressers while they
- 17:55head back downstairs. After retrieving the tapes, they
- 18:00would then hear a violent commotion coming from upstairs.
- 18:05Rushing back upstairs and back into the room as fast as they
- 18:08could would come face to face was something that neither of
- 18:13them could explain. There on the floor before them
- 18:17was the tape recorder. However, it had been completely
- 18:22destroyed, mangled as if someone had deliberately, with a strong
- 18:28hand, torn it apart. While father and son try and
- 18:33decipher the mystery of the destroyed tape recorder, cries
- 18:37suddenly erupt from downstairs. There, before Esther and Anne's
- 18:42eyes, the curtains, as if with a mind of their own, begin opening
- 18:49and closing rapidly. Jackie and Michael would soon
- 18:53rush downstairs to see just what had happened.
- 18:58In Jackie's words, that moment of fear.
- 19:02Seeing the pure fear in Esther's eyes was just horrible.
- 19:08With everyone terrified by what was taking place, Jackie decides
- 19:13that enough is enough. Without grabbing much of
- 19:16anything, the entire family runs out of the house and takes
- 19:21refuge with nearby neighbors who have been close friends for
- 19:25years. The neighbors are extremely
- 19:28helpful and supportive. They allow the family to stay
- 19:32the night with them. They all have collectively
- 19:35decided that they will call the church in the morning to seek
- 19:40assistance. It takes several days after the
- 19:44initial phone call, but a local parish priest does come to
- 19:48conduct a blessing within the Fahey house.
- 19:52As the father reads his prayers out loud with the Fahey
- 19:56surrounding him, they all begin to hear the wailing of a baby.
- 20:03However, young Sarah Louise once again is not making the cries.
- 20:10Jackie would later say that the more prayers that the priest was
- 20:14saying. The more that the ghost baby
- 20:17screamed it was if it was saying get out, we don't want you here.
- 20:24The priest although putting up a strong front and acting as if he
- 20:28wasn't hearing the cries that the rest of the family were.
- 20:32Michael can tell by the look in his eyes that he is absolutely
- 20:36petrified. Esther begins shaking because
- 20:41she is so frightened. After the priest blesses the
- 20:45living room area downstairs, he then begins heading upstairs and
- 20:50blessing each room 1 by 1. Meanwhile, the storm is brewing
- 20:56outside. The dark and swollen clouds are
- 21:00nearly ready to unleash when it's time for the priest to
- 21:05bless Sarah Louise and Martha's room.
- 21:08As Jackie goes to open the door, it won't budget first.
- 21:13As he shoves into it, he realizes that the crib has been
- 21:17placed in front of the door. After pushing it open, he tells
- 21:23the Father that there has to be something within their house.
- 21:27Although the priest seems to be in a state of denial, he
- 21:31continues with the blessing. He says several more prayers,
- 21:36inflicts some holy water around the room.
- 21:40As he finishes, he quickly, almost frantically, leaves the
- 21:45house. As Michael would later say in
- 21:48regards to the situation, it was as if he couldn't wait to get
- 21:53out of the house. He nearly ran out the door.
- 21:58The clouds which had gathered earlier finally began to rain
- 22:03down upon the earth, healing. Hopeful that the blessing done
- 22:07by the priest perhaps cast out whatever was dwelling within
- 22:11their home, the Fahey's returned their home.
- 22:16However, to be on the safe side, they decide to sleep in the
- 22:20living room together. As Thunder and lightning crackle
- 22:25outside while everyone else sleeps, Jackie suddenly wakes up
- 22:32to the cries of the ghost baby yet again.
- 22:36Oddly though, he seems to be the only one disturbed back to
- 22:40consciousness by its cries. As he follows the cries
- 22:45upstairs, they suddenly cease for a moment and feeling as if
- 22:51he was being watched from behind, he quickly turns around
- 22:56to see something that sends a cold shiver down his spine.
- 23:01There on a nearby table, was a small vase.
- 23:07Right before his eyes, he watches it levitate as if picked
- 23:12up by invisible hands. It slowly tilts and then drops
- 23:18to the floor, chattering it into many pieces.
- 23:23The shock of what he had just witnessed causes Jackie to try
- 23:27and run away, but he trips backwards and partially falls
- 23:31down the stairs. Scrambling, he gets back to his
- 23:35feet and runs through the living room.
- 23:39He then throws open the front door and collapses off the porch
- 23:44and into the front yard. As the rest of his family
- 23:47surrounds him, he finally comes back to his senses.
- 23:53The family once again takes refuge with their neighbors and
- 23:56friends several houses away. It is here in their living room
- 24:01that they debate just how exactly to tackle this
- 24:03situation. Whether to travel 4 hours away
- 24:08to stay with Jackie's sister temporarily, or to stay here
- 24:13somehow, but where? They can't move in with their
- 24:17neighbors. As they discuss what they should
- 24:20do, Jackie and Michael decide to go back together to the house
- 24:25and pack necessary items or whatever the future may hold.
- 24:31Thankfully, they encounter no paranormal resistance to their
- 24:35presence. When they obtained these items
- 24:37from the house, Jackie would call his sister and arrange for
- 24:42him and Esther to travel to her four hours away for the weekend.
- 24:46Although he wants his kids, Sarah, Louise, and Anne to join
- 24:50them, they have jobs that they must get to in the morning.
- 24:54Martha also says that the entity has never bothered her or the
- 24:58baby, which is true. He doesn't feel great about
- 25:02their decision but decides to go ahead and go after.
- 25:06He's reassured by Michael that he will keep them in the loop
- 25:10with anything and everything and will do his best to keep them
- 25:15all safe. After the parents depart,
- 25:19Michael, Anne, Martha, and Sarah Louise return to the Fahey
- 25:24house. The rest of the night is
- 25:27surprisingly quiet for the first time in what feels like forever.
- 25:33The following morning, with Michael and Anne at work, Martha
- 25:38relaxes on the couch and reads a book while her baby sleeps, but
- 25:44not for long. The piece is soon shattered by
- 25:48the cries of her daughter. Placing the book on the coffee
- 25:52table, she quickly heads upstairs to tend to her.
- 25:56The door, however, is closed and she didn't close it.
- 26:02Finding this strange to say the least, she grabs the handle and
- 26:07goes to open it, but it won't move.
- 26:11It's as if a large, invisible person is pushing it on the
- 26:16other side. As Sarah Louise cries for her
- 26:20mother, Martha frantically begins to throw her entire body
- 26:24into the door in an effort to open it.
- 26:27It doesn't move whatsoever. Panicking now, she runs to a
- 26:33neighbor for help as her and the neighbor rush back to her house
- 26:37and upstairs to the room. The neighbor searches through
- 26:40their toolbox to try and find something, anything that'll help
- 26:44open the door when it's suddenly and gently opens.
- 26:51The two then look at each other in awe.
- 26:54Quickly grabbing her baby, Martha then grabs her bag and
- 26:57together with the neighbor, they all flee the house.
- 27:02Later that evening, as Michael and Anne both return home from
- 27:06work, they notice that there's a note on the door.
- 27:09It tells them that Martha and the baby are at a nearby
- 27:12neighbor's house. Thinking nothing of it, as
- 27:16Michael goes to fetch his sister and his niece, Ann stays back at
- 27:20the house. As she sits in the living room
- 27:24waiting for her fiance to return, she suddenly hears the
- 27:28sound of something moving. Glancing around the room for the
- 27:32source, she realizes that a picture of Sarah Louise on a
- 27:37nearby table is shaking profusely.
- 27:41Then, as if aggressively thrown, it's the nearby wall and falls
- 27:47to the floor, shattering the glass that once held the photo
- 27:51in the frame. Upon seeing this, Anne screams
- 27:56and bolts out the front door as fast as she can.
- 28:00Upon doing this, she runs into Michael, Martha, and the baby.
- 28:06She then frantically tries to explain to Michael just what had
- 28:09taken place. She feels that if they go back
- 28:13into the house that whatever presence that was there would
- 28:16harm Sarah Louise, with Martha agreeing that she didn't want to
- 28:21return either after what had happened earlier.
- 28:24Michael relents and tells them to get in the car.
- 28:28Martha then lets him know that she needs diapers from the
- 28:31baby's room before they go. Agreeing to fetch them, Michael
- 28:36runs inside and grabs them as well as the baby's car carrier.
- 28:41Before leaving the house, however, he picks up the phone
- 28:45to make a phone call to his parents to let them know just
- 28:48what had happened. Upon dialing his aunt's number
- 28:52to call them, he hears several dial tones, but then begins to
- 28:57hear faint voices on the other end.
- 29:00These voices then began to change in pitch, going from
- 29:04higher to lower in a very unsettling way.
- 29:09Hanging up the phone and then trying again, the phone begins
- 29:13to call and then suddenly emits a horrendous high pitched noise
- 29:20directly into his ear. Throwing the phone down, he's
- 29:25absolutely stricken by what he sees.
- 29:29The phone itself is completely melted and is still smoking.
- 29:35With eyes wide. Michael then runs out of the
- 29:38house, but upon exiting the door is then shoved out as the door
- 29:44slams behind him. You would later say that I was
- 29:49utterly shocked. I didn't know how, but the phone
- 29:52itself was melted. I then felt like someone was
- 29:56shoving me, like I was being forced out of the house.
- 30:00Disturbed and taking the hint that they were unwanted, the
- 30:05four of them depart and drive the four hours to stay with
- 30:09Jackie and Esther at Jackie's sister's house for the rest of
- 30:15the weekend. Several days later, the Fahey's
- 30:20reluctantly returned to the house, but none of them want to.
- 30:25Esther felt as if the house wasn't hers anymore, that it had
- 30:29been taken over by whatever this thing was.
- 30:33With a long wait list for housing, the family is
- 30:37effectively stuck where they are.
- 30:40Trying to make the best of it, they decide to go inside.
- 30:44Upon opening the door, however, they come face to face with
- 30:49utter destruction. It's as if a cyclone has hit the
- 30:53inside of their house. The curtains are ripped, the
- 30:58pictures are broken, furniture and items disheveled.
- 31:04Things of all kinds are thrown everywhere with reckless
- 31:08abandoned. In the words of Michael, it was
- 31:12as if someone had come in and ransacked the place.
- 31:17There was nothing missing, no evidence of a break in.
- 31:22Angry and upset, the Fahey's begin to try and pick up the
- 31:26mess that was their lives now. It seemed as if the stress of it
- 31:30all was tugging at the seams that were holding them all
- 31:33together. Tired of dealing with it all,
- 31:37the family tries to brainstorm just how they could get help.
- 31:42The blessing of a Catholic priest didn't seem to work.
- 31:45They ponder what if they contact the papers?
- 31:49Will they be made fun of? Maybe.
- 31:53But could someone potentially hear of their story and reach
- 31:57out to help them? That was also a very real
- 32:00possibility. Deciding to take the risk,
- 32:04hoping that it'll result in some real help, they decide to reach
- 32:09out to a Dublin radio station with their story.
- 32:13As a result, a local paper decides to come and interview
- 32:18the Fahes and see just what exactly is happening.
- 32:22The family agrees to the interview and it is decided that
- 32:27a reporter will come not only to interview the family, but
- 32:31they'll stay the night with them to see if they experience any
- 32:35ghostly phenomenon. The reporter they send is
- 32:39skeptical and doesn't believe in anything like the paranormal,
- 32:44but decides to stay anyways. The phase of notice certain
- 32:49changes that would signal that something was about to occur
- 32:52within the home. One of those signals was that it
- 32:56would grow exceptionally cold. Beforehand.
- 33:00This very thing would happen with the reporter present
- 33:05sitting at the dining room table, beginning to write her
- 33:08story. She didn't believe that anything
- 33:10was going to occur. As she speaks, the family
- 33:15conversation is suddenly shattered by the sound of
- 33:19something breaking. Rushing to the living room where
- 33:23the sounds seem to have originated from, they find a
- 33:26shattered porcelain figure on the floor.
- 33:30It's small, minute fragments strewn everywhere.
- 33:35Upon seeing this, the reporter is shaken to her core.
- 33:40It's clear that she's convinced that there's something in the
- 33:43home now, considering everyone was all together in the kitchen
- 33:48when the figure was broken. Deciding to take a photo of the
- 33:52broken figure, she keeps writing in the kitchen and she doesn't
- 33:57sleep through the night. As a result of her article, the
- 34:01story begins to get picked up by more local newspapers and soon
- 34:06press from all over Europe is intrigued by what is dubbed the
- 34:10Galway Ghost. Naturally, with the press came
- 34:14harassment. Reporters, news stations and
- 34:18onlookers soon flocked to the Fahey residence hoping to catch
- 34:23a glimpse of the alleged haunting for themselves.
- 34:26With this new found fame that they didn't ask for, the Fahey's
- 34:30begin to worry that they will only be the subject of ridicule
- 34:34and that no one will hear their cries for help.
- 34:38Fortunately, they would be dead wrong several weeks after the
- 34:43story. Broke and gained traction.
- 34:46A reporter would reach out to the.
- 34:47Family and offer the assistance of a professional they knew a
- 34:52woman named Sandra Ramdani. Sandra's a well known
- 34:56parapsychologist and healer. She has stated that psychic.
- 35:01Abilities are an innate part of the human consciousness and that
- 35:05they are not supernatural powers.
- 35:07She also rejects the term. Psychic, as she said.
- 35:11It is misappropriated by frauds. After speaking.
- 35:16With the family within a week, they welcome her at their door.
- 35:22Michael. Would describe meeting her like.
- 35:24This when Sandra arrived and stepped in the door, we got this
- 35:29warm feeling as if we had known her for 100 years.
- 35:35After introducing herself to the family, Sandra begins to ask
- 35:39them just what all they had been experiencing.
- 35:43So the family started at the beginning.
- 35:45One thing she really. Took to.
- 35:48Was that the activity? Began shortly after the.
- 35:50Arrival of Sarah Louise. And to their lives and home,
- 35:56asking the family to take her to the room where they felt the
- 35:59most activity in. They would lead her.
- 36:02To the baby's room, walking around the room and feeling it
- 36:06out to. See if she could decipher.
- 36:08Just what kind of spirit they were dealing with.
- 36:11She picks up on something else as well.
- 36:14He asks the family if there's been any recent construction in
- 36:17the house. Surprised by her?
- 36:20Question Michael would answer her.
- 36:23With a yes, that the. Neighbors have been doing some
- 36:26work on their home and it had occurred right around the same
- 36:29time. That Sarah Louise was.
- 36:31Born and came to live with them in Jackie.
- 36:35'S words. It freaked me out when she was
- 36:38able to tell me that the neighbors were doing
- 36:40construction, asking to be alone in the room for a time to see if
- 36:45she could gather any more information.
- 36:48The family leaves Sandra within. As she closes her eyes.
- 36:53And begins to. Focus.
- 36:55Hoping to make contact. With whatever could be there, he
- 36:58starts to. Feel a cold air on her skin,
- 37:02causing her to get goosebumps, and then she begins to smell as
- 37:06if there's smoke within the room.
- 37:09She is then drawn into a vision. In this vision, she's in an
- 37:14entirely different room. There's a young woman screaming.
- 37:19She seems to be giving birth. Within the room, there appears
- 37:23to be a man. Possibly her father.
- 37:27His eyes. Seemed angry yet sad.
- 37:31Glancing around the room, then she sees a second man lurking
- 37:34within the. Shadows his face is.
- 37:37Stern, and he too, seems as if he could be angry.
- 37:42The screams continue. For a short while.
- 37:45And then they turn into heavy breathing as the cries of a
- 37:49newborn. Baby fill the air.
- 37:52They then start up again, but these screams are different.
- 37:57They seem desperate in a sense. The young mother seems to be
- 38:02reaching forward for her. Baby, but the child.
- 38:05Seems to be in one of the men's arms.
- 38:08It's her father, but instead. Of nurturing the infant, he
- 38:13instead has placed some kind of. Cloth over its face.
- 38:17And is smothering it. The other man then restrains the
- 38:21mother as she continues to scream.
- 38:26Sandra gasping and opens her eyes.
- 38:30The vision has ceased. Warm tears are slowly trickling
- 38:34down her. Face she is.
- 38:36Shocked at what has been revealed to her, walking down
- 38:40stairs to greet the family, they can tell she's.
- 38:44Obviously shook up. She then sits down with them in
- 38:48the living room to explain just. What all she saw and was able to
- 38:52figure out, she tells the. Family that she believes the
- 38:56baby was born out of wedlock and out of shame.
- 39:00Its life was taken. By the girl's.
- 39:02Father that, the ghost baby. Wasn't haunting the house that
- 39:06the Fahey's now lived in, but rather the land itself.
- 39:11She also believes that the. Construction by the neighbors
- 39:14inadvertently. Disturbed the spirit.
- 39:17Causing it to become active again and because it never.
- 39:20Got to live. Or feel the love and affection
- 39:23of its mother that had desperately wanted to get close
- 39:26to Martha since she had just become a new mother herself.
- 39:30Asking what could be done now, Sandra offers to conduct a
- 39:34healing ceremony in hopes of allowing the spirit to find
- 39:37peace and move on to the. Other side.
- 39:41The family would agree. First things first, Sandra asked
- 39:45them to. Please get Sarah Louise out of
- 39:47the house. Before the ceremony, needing
- 39:50Martha to be a. Part of the ritual it is decided
- 39:54that the. Baby will be taken on the stroll
- 39:56by Esther and Jackie. The rest of the family,
- 40:00alongside Sandra, then heads upstairs to the child's room to
- 40:05begin the ceremony. What she did was then she went
- 40:08up to the baby's room and she placed rose rose quartz crystal
- 40:14and Snow White quartz crystal in the cot as a focal point as the
- 40:18baby in the cot. Then what she did was then she
- 40:21actually communicated with the ghost by telepathic abilities
- 40:27and she found out that it happened about 100 years ago.
- 40:32It was a baby boy that was smothered at birth.
- 40:35This baby, like was just a newborn baby.
- 40:39And who killed the baby? The mother and father.
- 40:43And this happened not in the house, but on on that bit of
- 40:46land where the house is now built.
- 40:48That's right. It is explained that amber
- 40:51incense will be burned to protect them during the event
- 40:55and to promote spiritual healing of the ghost as well.
- 40:59She then lays down quartz crystals in the four corners of
- 41:02the room in order to purify and recharge the home itself.
- 41:08They then place an empty baby carrier on the ground in the
- 41:11center of the room and join hands surrounding it.
- 41:16They all then close their eyes and begin to take deep breaths
- 41:20to focus on the task at hand. Sandra tells them to imagine the
- 41:25ghost baby laying in the bassinet before them, surrounded
- 41:29by a golden light, to focus on him, to tell him it's time to
- 41:35move forward and move on. And then you see the, the very
- 41:41last part of the ceremony was actually, well, it was the most
- 41:43important part. And I, I saw the spirit actually
- 41:46been lifted up and taken away into what?
- 41:48The far side, as she called it, or into heaven, whatever it is,
- 41:51whatever you want to call it. You saw that yourself.
- 41:53Yeah, and. What, what?
- 41:54What exactly did you see? Well, what she did first, she
- 41:57put us all into a circle, right? And she said, imagine the baby
- 42:00in the circle. And then she she telepathically
- 42:04linked with us by moving energy around the circle.
- 42:08And then she told us, think like, think we're breathing in
- 42:11golden sunlight and bringing out tears and unhappiness and
- 42:14sadness and just keep concentrating.
- 42:17And I could actually see the baby on the floor.
- 42:21Can we just get that clear? Michael, did you see it?
- 42:24Yes. You saw it.
- 42:25I did see it, yes. And we're doing the exercise,
- 42:30breathing, concentrating. And then she said just keep
- 42:34concentrating. And then she said, imagine the
- 42:36golden light going out to the top of your head.
- 42:40And at that moment I saw the baby being lifted up into the
- 42:44light and then it just disappeared.
- 42:46And it left peacefully. It left peacefully, yes.
- 42:50Upon the ghost baby crossing over, the feeling is almost
- 42:54immediately night and day. It's as if everyone and
- 42:58everything could breathe again, with everyone amazed and so very
- 43:03happy that the infant had crossed over.
- 43:06The feeling of joy and peace filled the home once again.
- 43:11Jackie and Esther, who had been outside walking with Sarah
- 43:14Louise, returned as well, and they too could instantly sense
- 43:19that the ghost was gone. This is what would be considered
- 43:25a happy ending for most, but the Galway ghost still haunts the
- 43:29minds of the Fahey family. Every time they hear a knock or
- 43:34something seems out of place, they fear that perhaps what
- 43:39should be gone isn't that. Maybe it's always there,
- 43:44watching and waiting to return. This was a highly requested case
- 43:54and a very interesting wanted that I did have some of my
- 43:57personal takes on this case as well as some resources and
- 44:00questions that I'd like to share with you.
- 44:02Now before we go, and this will be in no particular order, so
- 44:07this case apparently has been tied to a scandal that took
- 44:10place between a priest and a family, with the priest having
- 44:13impregnated the daughter a long, long time ago.
- 44:18This information comes from Jackie, whose real name actually
- 44:21appears to be Jonathan Fahey from his book Cry From Beyond.
- 44:26If this is true, it would very much corroborate the ghost baby
- 44:30story in the you know, in my opinion.
- 44:32I however am a little more skeptical of this ghost baby
- 44:36having felt the energy in a home supposedly haunted by a little
- 44:39girl, AKA the Sadly house. Albeit things may vary on a case
- 44:44by case basis, I do believe that entities and or demons can
- 44:49masquerade themselves as children in order to exploit the
- 44:53vulnerable. Ask yourself this, why would a
- 44:56child, an innocent newborn baby, cause such dread and fear among
- 45:01the Fahey's? For this very reason, although
- 45:04they may have crossed over a baby's spirit makes me believe
- 45:08that something more sinister haunted their home, that perhaps
- 45:12following this event, for one reason or another, this entity
- 45:15went dormant. It seems that construction
- 45:19kicked off the activity by disturbing the ghost that was
- 45:22already dormant there in the beginning.
- 45:24I believe this probably played a role, having had constructions
- 45:28wake up ghosts in an old home of mine.
- 45:30This led to some very strange experiences such as hearing a
- 45:34chorus of whispers and having night terrors, which was not a
- 45:38fun time. I also like how the plumbers
- 45:41couldn't smell any of the smells that the Fahey's were, as in the
- 45:44disgusting ones. I think perhaps they were
- 45:47desensitized to an extent. Maybe this played a role in
- 45:50that. As a former painter, I mean Meg
- 45:53can tell you that my sense of smell is pretty much cooked.
- 45:56I'm sure you know depending on your profession, for one reason
- 45:59or another people get nose blind.
- 46:02I dug as much as I could, but I could not find any updates on
- 46:05the Fahey's past 2006. The initial case took place from
- 46:091996 into 1997 and it seemed as if the family still lives in the
- 46:15same residence as of 2006. I hope wherever they are now
- 46:19that they're peaceful and happy. I was only able to find one
- 46:24photo that I believe is the real residence in which the case took
- 46:27place in, and I will show it to you now.
- 46:30But on the off chance that someone still lives there,
- 46:33whether it's the Fahey's or anyone, please respect people's
- 46:37privacy and do not harass or bother them.
- 46:40Thank you. With how the home was designed,
- 46:45it would be nearly impossible for someone to have accessed the
- 46:49window in that room on the 2nd floor to have been able to move
- 46:52the crib in front of the door and then close it to cause
- 46:56resistance to the door being opened.
- 46:59Just how did the phone end up melting?
- 47:02I do know that in most of Europe the power is much stronger than
- 47:05it is here in the United States, but there would have been some
- 47:09kind of serious malfunction or a surge to be that powerful that
- 47:13it melted the phone. I always found that aspect of
- 47:16the case to be exceptionally creepy.
- 47:19It doesn't surprise me that Ireland has so many folk and
- 47:22ghost tales. It seems to be such a mysterious
- 47:25yet beautiful place that I'd certainly like to visit one day.
- 47:30I did want to give a shout out to my Irish fans.
- 47:33I hope I did this infamous story justice for you guys.
- 47:37And I did want to ask, had you heard of this case before?
- 47:40I covered it with that. Everyone please like the video
- 47:44if you liked it, share it around, subscribe with
- 47:47notifications on and please leave me a comment letting me
- 47:51know what you thought down in the comments below.
- 47:54I say this often, but all this stuff really helps me out
- 47:57tremendously. I did want to let you know that
- 47:59I did revamp my store with some new and much cooler merchandise
- 48:03as well, and I restocked on books.
- 48:06So if you wanted to pick anything up, now would
- 48:08definitely be the time. Other than that, guys, I love
- 48:12and appreciate all of you truly. Thank you so much for your
