- 0:16Business Mixer. This is April the second, and yeah, we're out here

- 0:27The Santa Fe Hotel and Casino. If you are a business owner,
- 0:32if you are a professional, we want you to make your way out here
- 0:37to the LVN LVBNM Business Mixer so that you can come on out get a
- 0:44table. Network. This is a business networking event and right now they're just
- 0:49giving us an announcement. There's a lot of things that are going on,
- 0:53a lot of things that are going down here at the event. So we
- 0:57want y'all to come out here, and we want y'all to to share the
- 1:00festivities, y'all. So I'll be back as I talk to different people in
- 1:04the community. Okay, all right, we are back here at the LVBNM
- 1:11Business Mixer, and I'm telling you you get a lot of value when you
- 1:15come down and you get yourself a table and you just come down and mingle
- 1:21with the people and with the professionals, the local business owners. This is
- 1:25amazing. We just sat in a class setting and we got some great information,
- 1:30some great value from Patrick Moore, who is a business development advisor.
- 1:40And I'm telling you the information that we got in that room was priceless.
- 1:42And so we're gonna talk to Patrick right now. And Patrick, I want
- 1:47to say thank you for spending time with us on the podcast. You're welcome.
- 1:53Okay. First of all, I want to give a shout out to
- 1:56the LVB and M Business Mixer. What are your thoughts? What can you
- 2:00say about Paul and s investor coming here every month for like seventeen years,
- 2:05bringing these local business owners together. They have a heart to see our community
- 2:09thrive. What can you say about that? I think that it's a very
- 2:15valuable, you know, a very valuable event. I think that the you
- 2:20know, the people I've met here are all happy. They're all talking about
- 2:23what they do and how how they love that so and to have you know,
- 2:31these side sidebar sort of things where they bring ex bankers in like Patrick
- 2:38Moore, and to have that kind of information disseminated to the participants. I
- 2:45think it's very valuable and I think that they should be applauded for helping their
- 2:50community the way they have. Yes, yes, I do agree. And
- 2:54so as we get a little bit of your background what you brought at the
- 3:00table today. You were the guest speaker for tonight, and as I said,
- 3:04your background is a business development, banking and finances. These are very
- 3:09important topics that business owners need to tackle and understand. And we talked about
- 3:15business credit versus personal credit. We've talked about being prepared when you approach a
- 3:21banker, and can you just share maybe just one point, just to let
- 3:25people know what they missed out on tonight. Well, you know, as
- 3:30you all know, there's one industry that's the most exciting industry in the world,
- 3:38and that's banking. It's not dry, it's full of excitement. And
- 3:44I try to make jokes and sometimes I'm not funny, But in any event,
- 3:51I think that what we're trying to do is just give people an understanding
- 3:57of what they can expect and also give them an understanding of how to prepare
- 4:02and give them some translation because the banker knows what they do, but the
- 4:10public doesn't. And unless you have a company with a chief financial officer who
- 4:16takes care of all of that. The small entrepreneur that's in this venue here,
- 4:24they have to do it all and so they have to go talk to
- 4:27the banker. They have to know what the banker's language is, because the
- 4:30banker doesn't know their language. And so we're just trying to teach them,
- 4:36you know, and translate for them what they can expect and what they can
- 4:41prepare for and what some of the outcomes could be. And then we also
- 4:46want them to know that at the Small Business Development Center here in Las Vegas,
- 4:54we can translate as well, and we can help them with a myriad
- 4:59of things to help their business start, grow and get strong. That is
- 5:06awesome, That is amazing. I want to say thank you for your service
- 5:10and we appreciate the information and the value. And this is Patrick Moore.
- 5:16And is it okay if I can share some of your contact information here on
- 5:20this card? You can do that absolutely okay. So this is Patrick Moore.
- 5:27If you want to know more, if you want to more more information
- 5:30about getting your business some help, some assistants. He's a business developer.
- 5:39He has the ability to help you get funding or get you prepared for it.
- 5:44And his contact information is his office number. It's seven O two seven
- 5:48seven four one eight zero four. Once again, it's seven O two seven
- 5:55seven four one eight zero four. Or you can give them an email at
- 6:00Patrick dot More at U n l V dot e b U. Once again,
- 6:06that is Patrick dot More at U n l V dot E d U.
- 6:14And this is the sb DC of Nevada Small Business Development Center. So
- 6:20we appreciate you, Patrick, and thank you for spending time with us here
- 6:25on the Hiss Hob Radio podcast. Go right, go Rebels, Yes,
- 6:31go Rebels. All right, y'all, keep it locked. We'll be back
- 6:34talking to more people here at the lvbn M Business Mixer. All right,
- 6:40all right, this is your boy, mister his Hob. We are back
- 6:44right here in the spot, the lv b n M Business Mixer. We
- 6:48get to connect with the best the Las Vegas finance. I'm talking about business
- 6:55owners, I'm talking about professionals. I'm talking about people who are doing things
- 7:00in the community. They are pursuing their dreams and their desires. We can
- 7:05talk about it, but they're doing it. They're putting it into action,
- 7:10and so that's why I love coming here That's why I love meeting these people.
- 7:14Next in the high seat we have Brenda and her organization is called Hidden
- 7:19Hells Coffee Company, Hidden Hills Coffee Company. And we all know that there's
- 7:26a lot of companies out there selling coffee. We know the popular ones,
- 7:30we know that this is a very profitable industry. So I'm honored that she
- 7:34is spending time with us here on the Hiss Hot radio podcast. And so
- 7:40Brenda, the first thing we want to do is give a little shout out
- 7:43to the LV being a business mixer. Paul and Sylvester. They do this
- 7:46thing every month for sixteen years, and their heart and their vision is to
- 7:51help business owners bring people together, get them mixing and stuff like that and
- 7:57connecting with the people in Every event should be packed. So tell us your
- 8:01opinion about this event and tell people to get down here and feel this down
- 8:07like, tell them what they're missing when they don't show up. Thank you
- 8:11so much for having me on today. I'm really excited, and yes,
- 8:15everybody should be here. First of all, it is a wonderful event for
- 8:20all different types of businesses, So you're seeing all different types of businesses from
- 8:24all over the Las Vegas Valley, incredible people, incredible products, truly an
- 8:31amazing event. I am so happy and proud and excited that I was invited
- 8:37to be here today. And yes, come down, see everybody, see
- 8:41how they're doing, Come join us, come talk to us, have some
- 8:43wonderful times, and meet some new people. Network a little bit. It's
- 8:48just been truly a great, great event. That is awesome. That is
- 8:52awesome, Brenee. Okay, so give us a little bit of your background.
- 8:56You you're the owner right of the Hidden Heels Coffee Company, So tell
- 9:03us how did you get into this industry. Well, it's a wonderful and
- 9:09awesome story of how this all happened. About six months ago, I was
- 9:13sitting around a table with a lot of other folks and I drank some coffee
- 9:16and I said, oh, this coffee tastes so stale. Does anybody here
- 9:20think this coffee is stale? And all everybody was like, well, yeah,
- 9:22but there's nothing we can do about it. And I said, there's
- 9:26always something you can do about something, right, So then I said,
- 9:30well, they go, well what are you going to do about it?
- 9:31And I said, well, maybe I'll start my own coffee company. And
- 9:35everybody's face kind of dropped and laughed a little bit. I'd be like,
- 9:39sure, you're gonna start your own coffee, I said, but there's got
- 9:41to be a reason why this is going on. It just, you know,
- 9:45because the coffee hasn't tasted right. So then I did on this deep
- 9:48dive on what was going on with the coffee in America. And what I
- 9:54found out is that an inside edition report showed me and proved that they are
- 10:01actually selling beans to Americans that are a decade old. Basically, what they're
- 10:07doing is they're shipping it to us. Their companies are repackaging it, saying
- 10:11it's fresh, and putting it on the shelves. And I don't think that's
- 10:15right. I don't think that's right to us. I don't think it's right
- 10:16to you know. And it could potentially get a sick too. So what
- 10:22I did is I started making a ton of phone calls and I said,
- 10:24you know what I want to do is have the freshest coffee that can ever
- 10:30be found. Freshest coffee. So I called and called and I've closed.
- 10:33So I got a lot of hang ups. No way, you're crazy,
- 10:37it's not going to happen. And then finally I found two places that were
- 10:43willing to work with me on my vision and made it happen. So the
- 10:46beans in Hinted Hill's Coffee Company, first of all, are the freshest,
- 10:50only a few months old. But what makes it the freshest in the United
- 10:56States is that our beans are actually roasted fresh when ordered and then shipped out
- 11:01the same day, so you can actually smell the coffee through the box.
- 11:07That's how fresh my coffee is. It's low acid, organic, vegan,
- 11:13no added sugar, roasted again fresh, all natural, gluten free. So
- 11:18I am definitely keeping a close eye on how to make the coffee industry holds
- 11:26a higher standard on what we're doing. So yeah, that's why I started
- 11:31my company. That's how it came into b And we just got done doing
- 11:37a vip oscar event lounge with gifting and so I got to meet a lot
- 11:43of coal celebrities and they all love my coffee. They kept coming back for
- 11:46a seconds, and I'm like, Okay, come on back, come on
- 11:48back. So it's just really too about having fun and connecting with the community.
- 11:52That's why I'm really glad I'm here today because I got to connect with
- 11:56you and many other business owners in Las Vegas who want to support each other.
- 12:00And that's another reason why if you have a business and you're thinking,
- 12:03and you're like me, you're brand new, I mean six months into this.
- 12:05This is definitely something new to me. This is my first radio hey
- 12:09guys, my first radio interview. But if you're looking for opportunities to connect
- 12:13with community, understand how to help your business, how to understand better ways
- 12:18to even today they had a class on how to finance your business and different
- 12:22things, you need to come down here. You need to check it out
- 12:26because this is where it's at today. Yes, yes, do not sleep
- 12:31on this event. Do not sleep at all. You are doing yourself a
- 12:35disservice by not coming out here. And yes, you can listen to this
- 12:37podcast. You can listen to this station, but there's nothing like actually being
- 12:41here, connecting with people, interacting and just meeting great people in I tell
- 12:48you what, I am honored, like I love doing this, meeting people
- 12:52like you, helping people. You know, you never know this might you
- 12:56know we could probably help each other, you know, network and stuff like
- 12:58that is too business. So man, I believe that this is amazing.
- 13:03I want to give you. Hats off to you for raising the bar,
- 13:07you know what I mean. Like you could have went with the status quo.
- 13:11You could have had some nasty stell coffee beans like everybody else, and
- 13:15people would have drunk it and not even on the difference. But you want
- 13:18to come with integrity. You said, we're raising a bar. You care
- 13:20about us as Americans, right, You care about what we consume, you
- 13:26know, like you said it could get us sick. You know what I
- 13:28mean. You have. I wish there were more people like you out there,
- 13:33and you your conviction was so strong to where you started a whole company,
- 13:37So hats off to you. I think that's awesome. I'm definitely gonna
- 13:43support do what we can to send people your way to Hidden Heels Coffee Company.
- 13:48That's the name of it. So can you please tell people how they
- 13:52can get to you. If there's an address or a website or a phone
- 13:56number, email, however they could come and check you out, because I
- 14:00believe that they would be if they would do a dis service as they did.
- 14:05Yes, thank you, thank you. You can go to My website
- 14:09is www dot Hiddenhillscoffee dot com. I'm on all social media outlets too.
- 14:16I answer it myself because I'm all I got right now. So if you
- 14:20go on my you know, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, any of those,
- 14:26you can DM and and ask me some more about my coffee. I
- 14:30do wholesale as well. So if you own a small business and you're interested
- 14:33in saying, hey, I don't like my current provider, or you know,
- 14:37I just want to raise the bar myself and and really start something for
- 14:41my own business, contact me. I can give you wholesale deals that are
- 14:46really really good. I am local Las Vegas, so you know, if
- 14:50you're a local, I definitely would like to come out and say hello and
- 14:52say hi, just making sure like I'm here for the community too. So
- 14:58yeah, that's a about it. I want to thank you again for having
- 15:01me on your podcast. Is my very first one for the radio side of
- 15:05things. It's been truly exciting and I appreciate your time for sure. Oh,
- 15:11if you want a fifty percent off deal, I'm gonna make this an
- 15:13exclusive for this event because I have some coupons here, so you need to
- 15:18come out to the event to get it. Or should I say it online?
- 15:20Should I give your friends the cubon deal? Should I okay, okay,
- 15:28Okay, you gotta download the radio app to hear the deal. Okay,
- 15:33so download that app so you can get fifty percent. That's fifty percent
- 15:35off coupon code. Okay, I'm gonna give it. You want to give
- 15:39it to you and then you can tell them. Okay, so I'm gonna
- 15:41give it to him so that he has it, but it'll be fifty percent
- 15:46off your first order, so you can try it out see if it's for
- 15:48you. Right now, I have had zero returns. I have had over
- 15:54fifty percent for a brand new business. Is actually really good guys for reorder,
- 16:00and I have subscribers as well, so it just it's really one of
- 16:03those things. Even if you are thinking of starting your own business and say,
- 16:07you know what, I really just go for it. I mean,
- 16:10worst thing that happen is people tell you no, you know, or laugh
- 16:12at you like some people did with me or still do with me. But
- 16:17that's okay. Just keep on going, keep doing the best you can,
- 16:19networks best you can. We're all here to support each other. And so
- 16:23if you want fifty percent off, you make sure you download that up.
- 16:27Yes, yes, that's amazing, and I want to Thank you for sharing
- 16:32and being transparent about people who did not believe in your vision. They did
- 16:36not believe in your dream, but you went ahead anyway. You had the
- 16:40conviction and the vision. A little bit about my background. I started a
- 16:44Christian hip hop club back in twenty twelve, and I had the same opposition.
- 16:48They're like, people are not gonna come and listen to Christian rap or
- 16:52hip hop. They're not gonna come and listen to positive music. You know,
- 16:56I started the radio station in the vision. I had a lot of
- 17:00opposition, but you know what we ran that We had a five thousand square
- 17:04foot warehouse club that we turned into a club and we stayed open for seven
- 17:08years. Now, right before COVID we had to close, but you know,
- 17:12we're still looking for a new location. We're a nonprofit organization now,
- 17:18and so I have a big vision. I have a desire to make a
- 17:22difference, you know what I mean. That's why we're a nonprofit. It
- 17:25hasn't been easy, it's been rough, and like you say, I've had
- 17:27the naysayers. But just talking to you and listening to your story gave me
- 17:33my fire back and really encouraging me as well. So You're impacting a lot
- 17:38of people, rather you know it or not, so I want to thank
- 17:41you for that. Well, thank you again so much. And speaking of
- 17:45how you feel about the Christian music and all of those things, I personally
- 17:49am a Christian as well. And what's interesting is my slogan is a blessing
- 17:55in every cup. And the reason I do that is because I'm believe in
- 18:00Christ, and I think I do everything in His name, and I pray
- 18:03over every order. Personally, I pray over every order, So I pray
- 18:07over those those orders. I bless everyone. I thank them so much for
- 18:11believing in me and my company. And I really believe if you do what
- 18:15God tells you to do and you follow his lead, even sometimes it's hard,
- 18:19even sometimes you get laughed as even sometimes it's crazy, that he'll bless
- 18:26you in his own way, and sometimes it's not instant, because I wish
- 18:30everything was instant. But just know too that if you are purchasing my coffee,
- 18:36that you are getting somebody who is praying for you and blessing you and
- 18:40wanting the best for you too. Hey man, that is amazing. Now
- 18:44I'm even more honored because now I met my sister my sister here, and
- 18:48definitely I want to figure out how we can network and continue to work together
- 18:52in the future. And the simple fact you know that, hey, you
- 18:57know, we're honoring God. Like you said, you know, commit your
- 19:00thoughts to the Lord. I mean, commit your works to the Lord,
- 19:03and your thoughts will be established. And that just blesses my heart. And
- 19:08I believe that more Christians need to be out there in business. We need
- 19:12to get involved in politics, like we need to be out there in the
- 19:15public arena and not be so timid like the you know how it's out there,
- 19:23you know how they want us to be quiet about our faith. And
- 19:26I love for the Lord, but but I want to encourage all of us
- 19:30to really get out there, fulfill your dreams and do what God has called
- 19:33you to do. And like you said, if God before you can be
- 19:37against you, God will open those doors. And I believe that this is
- 19:40an open door right now. You know that us even meeting, So that's
- 19:44a blessing. And I want to do one more thing before you close out
- 19:47the segment. I want to get you in rotation. So basically, what
- 19:52this is called it's like a radio drop, and so what you're gonna do
- 19:56is you're gonna state your name, you know how. I'm Brenda and I'm
- 20:00from Heat and Hills Coffee Company. Every cup is a blessing, right or
- 20:06every blessing a blessing in every cup? And you are now listening to his
- 20:11Hot Radio. And then that way people can kind of hear you and we
- 20:15can add you to you know, you be a part of our family.
- 20:17So do you need to practice? So you got it? We'll see,
- 20:19we'll see. I don't know. I'm brand new at all of this,
- 20:23so it drives me. I'm new at all of it. All right.
- 20:27Hi, my name is Brenda McNair and I'm the owner of Hidden Hills Coffee
- 20:32Company, A blessing in every cup. You're listening to his hop music radio?
- 20:40Is that it? Did? I miss it? Your thing? So
- 20:45I can I can read it a little bit more. I'm so sorry.
- 20:48Yeah, so it's that's the logo. But I mean right here, his
- 20:55hot radio, his hot radio. All right, Hi everyone, this is
- 21:04Brenda McNairy. You're listening to his hop radio. I'm the owner of Hidden
- 21:10Hills Coffee Company of blessing in every cup, and I hope you have a

- 21:44my community, and this is exciting. This is the LVB and M Business
- 21:48Mixer. It goes down every month here at the Santa Fe Hotel. If

- 21:57you know how to get to the Santa Fe Hotel. We're in the conference

- 22:04go to our website and we can hook you up. We can let
- 22:07you know how you can get a table, how you can come out to
- 22:10our mixers and meet these business owners. And so right now we are with
- 22:15Diane and Diane. Your organization is Diane's Delightful Desserts, Mad with Love and
- 22:23Diane before we get into your story, give us your opinion, give us
- 22:27your words about this event. This lvbing and Business Mixer goes down every month
- 22:33and let people know what they are missing out on when they sleep on it.
- 22:37You know what I'm saying. Yes, this is my second month of
- 22:42being at this event. It's a great event to network. You are really
- 22:47missing out. There's great vendors here. We have cookies for sale, we
- 22:53have rees, we have pins, and it's just a great event to come
- 22:56out and just network and support all businesses in the area. Yes, yes,
- 23:03I do agree. I do agree. Okay, So you gave me
- 23:07some of your products. This is a chocolate chip cookie, one of my
- 23:11favorites. And it's not small, it's big. God, this is a
- 23:14nice size and so I'm definitely gonna enjoy this. So tell us about your
- 23:19business. Uh, what inspired you to get in this line of work or
- 23:26to open up this organization where I've been an entrepreneur since I was at the
- 23:30age of twelve. I started out in the city of Pensacola, Florida.
- 23:34That's my hometown. I started off making homemade fudge frozen cups. I don't
- 23:40know if you're familiar with those from the South. Those are I started that
- 23:44business and off and on, I did a little here and there. So
- 23:48actually, after we retired in twenty fifteen and moved to Vegas, I you
- 23:53know, I was kind of longing for doing something, so I started making
- 23:59parent cake since where originally I started my business with pound cakes. And then
- 24:03eventually I actually started making chocolate chip cookies. And I took it. I
- 24:07actually a bowler, and I took it to one of my teammates and I
- 24:11said, hey, I'm starting these cookies. Can you I would like for
- 24:15you to try it and see how you like it, because I'm not really
- 24:18a chocolate chip person. And he says, oh my god, these are
- 24:22delicious. I'm like really, He's like, yes, you have done.
- 24:26I've never tasted a chocolate cookie like this. So then I started making oatmeal
- 24:32raisin. Then I started making sudden teacakes, which is a sudden cookie that's
- 24:38like between a cake and a cookie that they had back in the South.
- 24:42And it's not really that sweet, but people really like teacakes. And so
- 24:48I actually just started marketing my cookies and they've been taken off from there.
- 24:55Okay, awesome, awesome, that is amazing. So people had a sound
- 25:00of what you do and they just fell in love with it. They say,
- 25:02you need to go ahead and mass produce these things. Okay, so
- 25:07cookie are you do you do other treats or do you specialize in cookies only?
- 25:11No, I specialize in cupcakes, pound cakes, two layer cakes,
- 25:15cookies, So those are my specialties. So I mean, my mother was
- 25:22a baker, my sister's a baker, so my grandmother was a baker.
- 25:26So it was generation of recipes have been passed down to me. Okay,
- 25:30okay, awesome, awesome. Yeah, I just wanted to clarify that,
- 25:33you know what I mean, all of your expertise and everything that you offer
- 25:40as people get in touch with you. So now I'm gonna ask you,
- 25:44do you have a business as far as an address people can go to,
- 25:48or do they order online or how do they get in touch with you so
- 25:52they can sample your product? Well, my business is a home based business.
- 25:57I do have a website. It is Diane's the Life of Desserts dot
- 26:03com and you can actually go into my website and there's an order form where
- 26:07you can order, or you can also give me a call, which is
- 26:10my number is three one oh six one seven seven seven two three, And
- 26:15I can also take an order that way also. Okay, now, is
- 26:21there a certain area of town that that will receive the order or are you
- 26:26able to travel anyway? Like for me and my family, we're in Henderson,
- 26:30you know what I mean? And right now we're in North Walls,
- 26:33Vegas. So is there you know, I'm talking to our local audience or
- 26:37whatever. Is there a certain area in Vegas where they can place an order
- 26:41or or can you just go anywhere? I can actually just go anywhere,
- 26:45like I stated, you can just actually go onto my website and place the
- 26:48order, and you can also like give me a call. I go everywhere
- 26:52and do orders. My home based business is actually in Henderson. I'm actually

- 27:15with the youth and things like that, or you know, do you do
- 27:18vendor type services or do you cater Well? I do vendo type services,
- 27:23but it's mostly for pastries. I actually do cookies, I actually do muffins,
- 27:30and I mean I'm very versatile in what I can produce. Okay in
- 27:36the pastry business. Okay, so can you do custom orders? Well,
- 27:41according to what the customer order would be. If you're looking for a two
- 27:45layer cake, we can, like if you say I want, But I'm
- 27:48not into decorating cakes. That is not my forte right now. I'm also
- 27:53in pastry school learning how to decorate cakes. I'm in the College a Southerner
- 27:57Valley, Nevada pastry program right now. So I'm like pretty simple right now,
- 28:04but I'm looking on expanding my business and spanding my knowledge of how to
- 28:08decorate cakes and everything. But I have I have a friend who helps me
- 28:12out who's into custom He helps me out with custom cakes. If a requests
