- 0:59of 7080 .it dedicated to the deepening of the
- 1:03topics discussed in the articles of the portal.
- 1:05We are with the director Massimo Lualdi who introduces
- 1:07the topic of today. What are we talking about
- 1:10today? Archimedes, in the world of mice, where
- 1:28he performs the activity, adjusts everything.
- 1:30His figure is curious and at times contradictory.
- 1:33Let's see it. Orazio Cavezza, original name Horace
- 1:36Horse Collar, is a character from the Disney
- 1:38universe created by Walt Disney and the designer
- 1:41Ub Iwerks. His first appearance dates back to
- 1:44the short film L 'aratro di Topolino of 1929,
- 1:48where he played the role of work horse for Topolino.
- 1:51In fact, initially Orazio was represented as
- 1:53a horse with limited anthropomorphic characteristics.
- 1:56His nickname, Cavezza, obviously refers to the
- 1:59wooden collar that from the exorcisms, temporarily
- 2:01replaced by a papillon in some representations.
- 2:05Over the years, the character has undergone an
- 2:07evolution, acquiring more human traits and becoming
- 2:09a recurring figure in the adventures of Topolino,
- 2:12of whom he was behind before being gradually
- 2:14tarnished by Pippo, to the point that Orazio
- 2:17has spent years without having a significant
- 2:19role. Wise and accomplished, even if at times
- 2:21sly and goofy, pragmatic but also bizarre, the
- 2:24shy Orazio is known for his relationship with
- 2:26Clarabella, an anthropomorphic cow with whom
- 2:29forms one of the most long -lived and beloved
- 2:31couples in the Disney world, even if their emotional
- 2:34relationship gradually seems to cool down and
- 2:36remain on the background as if it were a sort
- 2:38of memory, and this especially for the fact that
- 2:40Clarabella at a certain point appears as Pippo's
- 2:44girlfriend who, in addition to having replaced
- 2:45Orazio in the role of Topolino's best friend,
- 2:48seems to have done it also in the heart of the
- 2:49beloved, even if Orazio, it must be said, does
- 2:51not seem to suffer from it. In any case, their
- 2:53dynamic of the couple has added depth to the
- 2:56character by making it more than a simple In
- 2:59the course of the years, Orazio, who is a repairer
- 3:01of everything, evolving in the Italian comics
- 3:04of the 60s and 70s, becomes a mechanical and
- 3:07inventive inventor, therefore a kind of topolino
- 3:10alter ego of the paparopolian Archimedes Pythagorean,
- 3:12even without the relative genius. This characterization,
- 3:16introduced by authors such as Romano Scarpa,
- 3:18made him an ingenious and pragmatic character,
- 3:20able to create bizarre objects to help Topolino
- 3:23in his adventures. His mechanical workshop became
- 3:25a symbol of his own. Despite the introduction
- 3:31of new characters over the years, Orazio has
- 3:34maintained a special place in the hearts of Disney
- 3:37fans. His evolution from a simple horse to a
- 3:39complex and anthropomorphic character reflects
- 3:41the ability of Disney authors to adapt and develop
- 3:45their characters over time. Tyler Reddick here
