- 1:40So excuse me also. So today we're going to be
- 1:43talking to the dreamers, the leaders, parents, entrepreneur,
- 1:48the believer, the purpose driven person.
- 1:53And tonight we're going to be talking about the fortitude to
- 1:55finish, for the two to finish the strength to keep going when
- 1:59the motivation runs out. So when you start something,
- 2:06it's exciting, it's new, it's fresh.
- 2:09It's it's like you want to tell everybody about it.
- 2:13You want to, hey, I'm writing this book.
- 2:14Hey, I'm starting this business. Hey, I got this podcast.
- 2:17Hey, I got this YouTube channel. Hey, I got this trucking
- 2:21business. What a book don't matter.
- 2:23Whatever it is, you want everybody to know about it,
- 2:26right? Everybody.
- 2:29But what happened when the disappear, when the excitement
- 2:33disappears, when people stop clapping, like, OK, good for
- 2:38you. Now where the product at?
- 2:42What happens? What happens when the assignment
- 2:45becomes difficult, expensive, lonely?
- 2:48Because you're going to be lonely, inconvenient and
- 2:50painful. What happens when that when that
- 2:55motivation is no longer enough, what happens?
- 3:00You need, you need fortitude. You need fortitude.
- 3:03For the people who don't know, fortitude is the courage and the
- 3:07strength to continue through difficulty, adversity,
- 3:11discomfort and delay. It is the inner determination
- 3:16that says I'm tired, but I'm not finished.
- 3:20I may need the rest, but I would not surrender.
- 3:23I may have to change my strategy, but I would not
- 3:26abandoned my assignment. How many of y'all out there has
- 3:30been in this place? I know I've been in it numerous
- 3:35times. You know with starting Man Talk
- 3:39133 building out the brand, you know, do going into the clothing
- 3:46line side of things fashion side of it.
- 3:50You know I even designed shoes before y'all.
- 3:52So is is is you got to have the fortitude to finish and the
- 3:56scripture that I want to you know, give you guys tonight is
- 4:00Galatians 6 and 9. Let us not be weary and well
- 4:03doing or in due season we shall reap if we faint not So let us
- 4:11not be weary and well doing. If you don't know where we
- 4:13remain, don't we weak? That would have been basically
- 4:18that's what I mean don't we don't don't give up, don't quit.
- 4:22You know what I'm saying? Because sometimes you're going
- 4:24to you're going to become tired. I'm telling y'all now this is,
- 4:28you know, sometimes a push even now.
- 4:31And I've been doing this show for I would say 2 years.
- 4:36And sometimes now it's a push because as a creators, you're
- 4:40going to hit a wall as content creators and as creative people,
- 4:45you're going to hit a wall where you just, you run out of ideas
- 4:50and you run out of just, and you got to reinvent yourself.
- 4:55Not saying that you, that you like the talent, not saying that
- 4:58you are not a creative, still not a creative person.
- 5:03Every person hits that wall where they just, they top out
- 5:06sometimes. And that's when you got, that's
- 5:09when the fortitude to finish kicks in.
- 5:13You know, I was talking about this not too long ago that you
- 5:18know, as as content creators, you got the pause reset and know
- 5:25why you started doing this from the beginning.
- 5:29So you don't need another opportunity.
- 5:34You need the discipline to develop and finish what you
- 5:37already got in front of you. So some people have started,
- 5:42man, probably 10 or 12 different things and still ain't finished
- 5:47one of them yet. They just got, you know, I
- 5:50started this and, and, and then, you know, I, I know I can do
- 5:55this too. And, but, but then you just got
- 5:58like all these different ideas and things that are just in
- 6:03place, but neither, none of them are finished.
- 6:06None. So now you're sitting like five
- 6:12years later, got all these great ideas and still ain't finished
- 6:17one of them. And then that puts you in a
- 6:19frustrating position because you like now, I mean, people
- 6:23expecting me to do this now I don't have the fortitude to
- 6:27finish. So the word for the night,
- 6:30y'all, is finish. You better finish.
- 6:34You better finish. So most people love the
- 6:40beginning, they love the take out, they love the, the, the
- 6:43they feel a possibility and just endless ideas and they're just
- 6:47flowing all over the place. And I know my, the energy is
- 6:51high, the vision is high. They can see clear the I mean,
- 6:55they just got it all right. You start a business, you
- 7:01imagine like, you know what, man, I start this business.
- 7:04I ain't got to get up and do just 9 to 5 or whatever your
- 7:07schedule is. I work for me now.
- 7:11But then when they get into the business, they understand that
- 7:14it's longer be longer than a nine to five.
- 7:17Is it going to be a whatever before you open to hours after
- 7:23you close? So some days you may have been
- 7:25there 1516 hours, who knows, right?
- 7:30But get you begin a workout and you imagine my body is going to
- 7:35be you just wait and see all the people who doubted me waiting.
- 7:41You see that there's new body. And then you get into the
- 7:46workout, muscles get a little sore, like, oh, oh man, my arm's
- 7:55sore. And I and you know, I, I think I
- 7:57may overdid it at the gym. And guess what?
- 7:59You quit. So I normally tell people when
- 8:04you work, when you start working out, start where you can start.
- 8:06Don't start where somebody's been doing it for 7-8 years
- 8:11because you're going to put yourself in a bad position.
- 8:14Start where you can start. Excuse me, Work your way up.
- 8:17You accept the new assignment and imagine the impact like you
- 8:20know what? Or they put me in this position.
- 8:24You watch how I turn this company around.
- 8:26I'm telling you, you wait and then they give you the
- 8:29assignment and then guess what? It's harder than what you
- 8:34thought. You're like, oh boy, this is way
- 8:38harder than what I imagined. But you got to have the
- 8:43fortitude to finish you writing a book and you imagine holding
- 8:47the book up as a best seller. You know what I'm saying?
- 8:50The New York Times bestseller, everybody think they book going
- 8:53to be the best seller when they write it.
- 8:55Everybody hold it up. It's going to be a best selling
- 8:58book and then when you in there writing it, you get writer's
- 9:05block and then you can't remember how to finish that.
- 9:10You get stuck in a chapter for two years.
- 9:14I mean, it's like you still stuck in that same chapter for
- 9:16two years. And let me tell y'all something.
- 9:19So y'all, one of that gets just y'all, you know, I'm I got a
- 9:24book I've been working on for a minute.
- 9:27Another one thing on lie and it's it's tough.
- 9:32It's a tough, it's tough because I'm going to tell y'all why?
- 9:35So I was writing a book, right? And I typed all this up in in my
- 9:38computer and then I lost the stuff that I wrote.
- 9:42So now I got to go back and retype everything I typed and
- 9:47add some other stuff to it. So don't get weary and don't
- 9:52faint. You got to have a fortitude to
- 9:54finish. I'm talking to myself tonight
- 9:56too. I got to have a fortitude to
- 9:57finish the book that I'm writing, that I'm working on,
- 10:01that I've been, you know, that I working on, and I put it to the
- 10:04side, you know what I'm saying? So I got to go back to pick it
- 10:08back up, you know what I'm saying?
- 10:11But eventually every beginning end is what is called the
- 10:14difficult middle. The middle is where the
- 10:18excitement fades, but the finish line is still far away that you
- 10:24can you know, it's you can finish it, but just as you just
- 10:28it's the finish line. You're like, it's just like
- 10:30running, you know, running the race.
- 10:33You know, you still see the you can see the finish line, which
- 10:36is like where this is. I'm burning out.
- 10:38I can't do it. You'd invest it so much.
- 10:43Let me say it like this. Let me, let me, let me give you
- 10:45all some some hope, right. If you invested money in it, do
- 10:52you want to lose your money? Absolutely not.
- 10:57You want to keep pushing so that you can go ahead and get a
- 11:02return on your investment. So don't quit.
- 11:05I don't care how big or how small, right?
- 11:08I'm just trying to motivate y'all tonight.
- 11:09Tonight is about the fortitude to finish.
- 11:14Fortitude to finish. You got to have it.
- 11:16You got to have it now the middle is where you start asking
- 11:20yourself these questions because the beginning is exciting.
- 11:24It's just like, yo, it's so exciting.
- 11:27I gotta yo, I got this idea and I got this the book cover.
- 11:31You didn't got the book cover done before.
- 11:33You didn't got the book a page written in it.
- 11:37You kind of like you motivated you happy, but this is where the
- 11:41middle is when you start. Did I make the right decision?
- 11:47Did God really tell me to do this?
- 11:50That's the one where people start.
- 11:52They're looking for an excuse to get out.
- 11:54Did God really tell me to do this?
- 11:56Because I don't know. Hey, God, they said God make
- 11:59things easy. You know, I don't know if God
- 12:02told me to do this, Am I wasting my time?
- 12:06Why is this taking so long? I'll tell you why it's taking so
- 12:09long. It's taking so long because of
- 12:11you. You got to push.
- 12:13You got to push. It's like having a women, excuse
- 12:17me, I'm sorry about that. It's like women having babies.
- 12:20You got to push the baby out and baby, some babies ain't going to
- 12:25just come out. You got to push them mugs out.
- 12:27And just like this right here, like why is it taking so long
- 12:31because of you? You got to stand in the mirror,
- 12:34look at just like, hey, you know what?
- 12:35It is me. I am taking too much time with
- 12:40this last chapter. Even if you got to write it and
- 12:44then go back and read through it and see what you left out, just
- 12:49you trust me. Why is it taking so long as you
- 12:52trust me? And when you start it, you got
- 12:54to finish. Why does it seem to be easier
- 12:57for everybody else? How you know it was easy for
- 13:00them? Y'all looking at the finished
- 13:01product? The finished product always
- 13:04looks easy. You know what I mean?
- 13:06Like when, when somebody to finish something, you don't know
- 13:09what they've been through to get to it, you know, so they got
- 13:12like 4-5 books, but you don't know, you know how, you know the
- 13:18process. And some people, you know, they
- 13:20do have what they call the scribal anointing that they can,
- 13:24you know, they just write books. They just can write them, write
- 13:26them, write them, write them, write them, write them, write
- 13:27them. But everybody ain't got that.
- 13:30So you know it, it may look easy to you because you're looking at
- 13:35the finished product, but it may not be easy for them when they
- 13:40was doing that may have been in the same spot that you're in.
- 13:44You know, you never know, right? Why am I working so hard without
- 13:51seeing any results? Let me tell you from like being
- 13:56work, working out for the last, I don't know, five years you and
- 14:02and being married for the last 27 years.
- 14:04You going to get out of it what you put into it.
- 14:09You can go in the gym just to say you're going in the gym and
- 14:14that's what the results you're going to get.
- 14:16You just going in the gym, sitting there on a thing.
- 14:20You do a couple workouts and then you get on your phone and
- 14:23then you start texting and then you you know, people call you
- 14:27are you in the gym be talking and and for you know what hour
- 14:30gone by you have done hardly zero workout.
- 14:34So I'm telling you, I'm telling you now listen, listen, you have
- 14:42to, you have to have the fortitude to finish, y'all.
- 14:47That's the only way you're going to, that's the only way you're
- 14:49going to get the results you need or want to see at the gym
- 14:53or anywhere else. Will you write a book or
- 14:55business or whatever you put into it?
- 14:57Marriage, whatever what you get out of it.
- 14:59I'll be right back after the break y'all.
- 15:01Stats tell that each day 22 veterans commit suicide due to
- 15:05PTSD. These stats shook us and urged
- 15:09us to do our part. After hours and hours of
- 15:12thinking, beekeeping for veterans was born.
- 15:15Beekeeping for veterans combines beekeeping with mindfulness
- 15:19meditation. Why combine them?
- 15:21Here's why. Beekeeping causes positive rush
- 15:25of adrenaline. While beekeeping you have to be
- 15:28calm during it. You are mindful of your
- 15:31movements. Each week, a veteran will
- 15:33receive a mindful meditation to build emotional and mental skill
- 15:37sets. Mindfulness is a set of three
- 15:40attentional skills that work together concentration, sensory
- 15:44clarity and equanimity, mental calmness, composure, evenness of
- 15:49temper. Every time mindfulness is
- 15:51practiced, we build these skills.
- 15:53Beekeeping for veterans not only helps veterans overcome
- 15:57emotional trauma but also aids our environment as without bees
- 16:01there is no come forward. The people who have supported
- 16:05your country now need your support.

- 16:33Welcome back to Man Talk 133 with me and you, Nate.
- 16:38We talk about 42 to finish the night.
- 16:41Y'all 42 to finish. Listen, I'm going to tell y'all
- 16:45straight off the top. If you're trying to do anything
- 16:50and finish it, you have to have the 42 to finish it.
- 16:56You ain't got 42. You ain't got 42.
- 17:00You in trouble, I'm sorry you just you're in a bad.
- 17:03You might just go and quit now. Don't forget out at the
- 17:07beginning of the show. I said check out the platform.
- 17:09Don't forget to check out man talk 1 to 33 apparel company.com
- 17:15check it out. Go see what I got y'all y'all
- 17:18might find some of y'all like I don't know right so now this is
- 17:23we're talking about the middle. So so the middle is where many
- 17:29good dreams are buried, where people have dreams, but they get
- 17:34buried right in the middle of stage.
- 17:37So they left the finish line and they get middle way to race
- 17:40right and the finish line is so far away.
- 17:44They don't want to push to get to the finish line.
- 17:48So they kind of like, you know, I, I just rest here for a
- 17:52minute, you know, but you can't because listen, the middle's
- 18:00where the dream were dreams. You get better not because the
- 18:02dream was impossible, but the dreamer was unprepared.
- 18:06You are unprepared for the pressure between promise and
- 18:09completion, right? The promise as well.
- 18:12You know, the boy I like. I know I could do this.
- 18:14This is this is my thing. I know I can, but when the
- 18:19pressure come and you start spending money and you start,
- 18:23you know, investing because you had to invest in yourself.
- 18:26Y'all, I'm sorry you had to invest in yourself.
- 18:29I don't understand OPM other people's money, but if you don't
- 18:34have enough, if you don't believe in your dream enough,
- 18:41who going us going to believe in and want to invest in it?
- 18:43You got to invest your own. You got to.
- 18:46We love to celebrate people at the finish line, but we rarely
- 18:49see what they survive in the middle.
- 18:52If you can make it through the middle, you can make it through
- 18:56the middle. You'll be just fine.
- 18:57Like for example, and I keep going back this radio show,
- 19:00right, the radio show shout out to Joe Membi radio dot U.S.
- 19:04military broadcast radio for giving man talk 133 a shot,
- 19:08right. But the YouTube channel was
- 19:12first and people got to understand you always going to
- 19:17start with one You can you just you're going to start with one
- 19:21subscriber. People look at all these other
- 19:24channels and they see, you know, the 10, the the 10 million and
- 19:30100,000 and 50,000. You see the little plaques
- 19:34behind them and all this other stuff like that.
- 19:36You got to start with one. You got to start with just one.
- 19:40Once you start with one, then you can grow it Started with
- 19:45one. Now I'm thinking about 17,000
- 19:48subscribers and it's still growing.
- 19:50Not where I wanted to be, but hey, it's I didn't quit.
- 19:54I ain't quit in the middle when I kept pushing, you know what
- 19:58I'm saying? So we see the successful
- 20:01business, but we don't see the years when the owner struggled
- 20:05to attract customers. Doesn't This is what I was just
- 20:07saying. You don't see what's in the
- 20:09middle of you. You see the finished product.
- 20:13It's like marriage. We see a strong marriage.
- 20:16People been together 60 years. But we don't see like the
- 20:22conversations, the hard conversations, you know, the
- 20:25therapy, the forgiveness, the growth, the sacrifices, all that
- 20:29stuff it took to align it, the marriage like it is now like 60
- 20:35years later, 60 years strong, but the whole 60 years was not
- 20:42strong. You know, I'm just, I mean, I
- 20:43hate to say it like that because some people will tell you, you
- 20:46know, he was in math for 80 years.
- 20:48We had no problem. Don't do that.
- 20:51Y'all setting people up for failure.
- 20:53You got to tell people the real deal.
- 20:56If you had issues in your marriage, you just had issues in
- 20:59your marriage and y'all corrected them and that's what
- 21:01it was. Don't tell people you ain't
- 21:03never had no issues and they're going to be like, well, y'all,
- 21:06if y'all ain't had no issues, what we going through must not
- 21:09be an issue. We're going to just push right
- 21:11on through that and just fuss through it and fight through it
- 21:14and all that because nobody told them that that's an issue.
- 21:18So you got to people that have been through these marriages.
- 21:22Y'all got wisdom. Give it to the people, man.
- 21:26Like you know, like you've been married for fifty 6070 years.
- 21:28Tell people how you got to the fifty 6070 years instead of just
- 21:32saying our marriage was great. I'm tell you right now, one of
- 21:36the best decisions I ever made. And you know, we just we just
- 21:41you know, we just here now how you get there, you know what I
- 21:44mean? So people need to know this type
- 21:46of stuff. You see a successful ministry,
- 21:48you know, pastors have, you know, 3040 year anniversaries,
- 21:53but nobody see when they was in there, we were just him and his
- 21:58wife and his one two kids and mom in law.
- 22:01And you know, and and you know the one guy that said, you know
- 22:05what, I ain't got nothing to lose.
- 22:08I'm I will go in here with him anyway.
- 22:10You know, I ain't got nothing to lose.
- 22:11So I'm gonna go see what's happening.
- 22:17One of the fastest thing is the guy that ain't going to be the
- 22:20move ever made, You know what I mean?
- 22:23They don't see the empty seats. They don't see the rejection,
- 22:26they don't see the criticism. They don't see none of that when
- 22:30people trying to grow different things.
- 22:32But what they all have in common is the fortitude to finish.
- 22:36You know, you see people with degrees, you know, like 5°.
- 22:41I don't want 5°, man, I wish I can at least get I, I let me get
- 22:471°, you know, and, and, and guess what?
- 22:52Guess what ends up happening. They don't see the late nights,
- 22:56they don't see the investment, they don't see the sacrifice.
- 23:00They don't see the wear and tear on your body.
- 23:02They don't see the times people wanted to quit and say, you know
- 23:05what man, forget this. I don't want this degree.
- 23:08This degree sucks. I don't want it.
- 23:11People don't see that, you know what I mean?
- 23:14So we got to stop looking at the finished product and people see
- 23:20it. People do it all the time.
- 23:21They see people on the highway, you know what, this one got a
- 23:25Lamborghini or Ferrari or what they got a, you know, a Rolls
- 23:30Royce or a Bentley. You know, I want one of them.
- 23:33I wonder what they do a lot of sacrificing.
- 23:36Now, granted, some people were born with the parents did all
- 23:41the sacrificing and the kids just reap the benefits of the
- 23:44sacrificing, but somebody had to sacrifice.
- 23:48You get it. We see championships, how these
- 23:51guys, football, basketball, baseball, hockey, WNBA&B, all of
- 23:56these we see every all, all these championship.
- 23:59It looks so easy to us. But the sacrifice, the injuries,
- 24:03the losses, the people being away from home and you know, all
- 24:07these things like that, you know what I'm saying?
- 24:11Being away from missing birthdays and and all that stuff
- 24:15like that, but they just see the championship, them holding up,
- 24:20whatever championship they are. Let's use LeBron James for an
- 24:23example. I know a lot of people don't
- 24:26like LeBron, right? But him and Tom Brady have
- 24:34longevity. It's because they have the
- 24:38fortitude to finish. They wanted to keep playing.
- 24:41LeBron still playing, I think he was 2122 years in.
- 24:45Tom Brady played what, 2021 years or whatever he played and
- 24:51they just had to fortitude. They, they, they loved what they
- 24:54were doing. But people look at the finished
- 24:57product, how LeBron can, you know, do what he do, but they
- 25:00don't look at how many shots and stuff he put up.
- 25:03So y'all get what I'm saying. Ain't going to be repetitive
- 25:05about that, but y'all get it. Motivation says I feel like
- 25:10doing a discipline says I'm going to do it whether I feel
- 25:13like it or not. You motivated, you know you got
- 25:17motivation Speaking can make folk, you know, give them
- 25:20$100,000 no problem Be motivated.
- 25:24Yes I'm, I'm, I believe I can do this.
- 25:28You know I'm going to sow this $100,000 and then after the
- 25:32motivation we're off. They got to have discipline
- 25:35because now you didn't drop 100,000 dollars and something,
- 25:39so you got to be able to keep going. 42 says even under
- 25:43pressure, I will remain courageous, discipline and
- 25:46faithful to the assignment. 42 does not mean you never feel
- 25:52fear. You never feel fear.
- 25:56You're going to feel fear and these I'm telling you, when you
- 26:02put up a video or you put out a book or you put out a design
- 26:10like your clothing or whatever it is you doing, the fear hits
- 26:17about, hey, you know what? I don't know about you to drop
- 26:20that. Ain't nobody going to buy that.
- 26:21You stop playing all these thoughts in your head like you
- 26:24know, I don't and you know, I don't know if I should have did
- 26:27that because ain't nobody going to buy it.
- 26:28Ain't nobody going to watch it. Then you turn on to go check on
- 26:32your stat, your, your analytics and you see like 1 subscriber A1
- 26:38view or whatever the case may be.
- 26:41But you got to keep going. Keep going.
- 26:44Y'all. I'm telling y'all that it's
- 26:45going to be worth it. I'm telling you it's going to be
- 26:48worth it. 42 does not mean you never experienced doubt.
- 26:52You going doubt you going to want to quit.
- 26:54You're definitely going to do that.
- 26:56I'm telling you, do not make a permanent decision doing
- 27:02temporary moments, moments of of exhaustion.
- 27:05Let me say that again, do not make permanent decisions during
- 27:09moments of exhaustion. If you're tired, put it down,
- 27:15step away from it, and then come back.
- 27:20It's all you got to do. Do not in the middle of you
- 27:23being frustrated so I quit. You know what?
- 27:25I hate this. I should have never started
- 27:28this. Don't do it.
- 27:30I'm telling you, you you're going to miss out because if you
- 27:34haven't a vision and an idea and you see what the vision, you see
- 27:39what it's supposed to look like. This is what just imagine it.
- 27:42What a Walt Disney guy. What if he had?
- 27:45What if he had quit? Yeah, I want to be going to
- 27:48Disney when we going to Disney World see Mickey in them.
- 27:52You know what I'm saying? He had a vision and he just saw
- 27:55it. And then that's still growing,
- 27:57growing out so many year. It's Steve Jobs, I had to quit.
- 28:02Y'all wouldn't be on the Apples and the Macs, the iPhones.
- 28:07So you can't quit y'all. Do not make them say it again.
- 28:10Do not make a permanent decision doing temporary moments of
- 28:16exhausting. Don't don't do what I'm telling
- 28:20y'all. So sometimes the vision is not
- 28:24wrong. The strategy needs to be
- 28:26changed. Like you can have a vision.
- 28:30He's like, you know, I wonder why I ain't getting this, ain't
- 28:32getting that. And this happens a lot in the
- 28:34social media space because that's where I'm in, you know,
- 28:37the kind of social media space and the radio space and stuff
- 28:41like that. So if you're, if this is not the
- 28:44vision is is division you're supposed to have, but the
- 28:54strategy got to change. Your marketing may have to
- 28:56change your thumbnails may have to change your the way you're
- 29:01looking at things may have to change.
- 29:03You may have to be like, hey, you know what, you know, maybe I
- 29:08should start looking at it this way, or maybe I should market it
- 29:12a different way. Maybe maybe this is not the lane
- 29:17I need to be in. Maybe I need to change my niche
- 29:20and where I'm recording and try some different.
- 29:23Maybe I'm not a clothing designer.
- 29:25Maybe I need to try something else.
- 29:27Maybe I'm pushing this design thing, right?
- 29:31That's not for me, you know, Maybe I need to, you know, look
- 29:37at, I don't know, just designing drawing designs and selling
- 29:41them. Maybe that may may need maybe
- 29:42your strategy, your strategy may not be making them.
- 29:46It may just be designing them, may not be selling them.
- 29:49You design them for people you know, and then you become one of
- 29:52the biggest designs is because your designs are crazy out there
- 29:57and everybody love them. So maybe you need to change the
- 30:00strategy. Y'all.
- 30:01We'll be right back after the I like you saying we.
- 30:05I will be right back after the break y'all.

- 31:25Welcome back to Man Talk 133 where man unite, Yo, we're in
- 31:30the building talking about the 42 to finish fortitude to
- 31:35finish. You got to have it got these
- 31:38great ideas and they running through your mind 100 mph and
- 31:43you just grab a handful of these ideas and then you don't finish
- 31:47none of it. That's that's not what you need
- 31:50to be doing. You need to be grabbing these
- 31:52ideas and finishing it because I gave you told you in the middle
- 31:59is where most these things are buried.
- 32:02When you don't finish it, it's just what it is.
- 32:05You just you can see the end line that you know the
- 32:09beginning, you see the finish line, but the finish line is so
- 32:13far away, right? So I'm just saying don't quit.
- 32:17Military veterans understand when you accept the mission, you
- 32:22got to go and finish the mission.
- 32:25It requires preparation, teamwork, focus, and endurance.
- 32:30If you don't have that, don't go join the military and playing
- 32:34messing with people. You get a lot of folk killed out
- 32:37there because you don't really don't have the fortitude you get
- 32:41in the middle of it because you know why when you talk to the
- 32:44recruiter or they had these uniforms nice and pressed.
- 32:48Oh, they was clean gig line straight.
- 32:51Or I'm talking about they talking smooth.
- 32:53They got the collars laid down. All that shoes shine and you
- 32:58like, yo, I think I want to do that.
- 33:02I really do think I want to do that.
- 33:04And then you join in based on an emotion because you like you're
- 33:09motivated because of the recruiting, because of the
- 33:12uniform motivate. I want that uniform.
- 33:16And then when you get the uniform it requires, I'm going
- 33:21to say it again, preparation, teamwork, focus and endurance.
- 33:28If you don't got that, and I did say you, if you don't got, if
- 33:33you don't got that, don't go playing with the military.
- 33:36Let them let the people that really want to be in the
- 33:38military go be in the military. It's a serious job, y'all.
- 33:43It's very serious. You got the man on your left,
- 33:46the right front behind you, counting on you not to make
- 33:50stupid decisions to get everybody killed.
- 33:55So it's serious, you got to have a fortitude to finish the
- 34:02mission. You can't get in the middle of a
- 34:04mission and quit. Go to basic training, you
- 34:08wasting everybody time you get there and just because you got
- 34:11to do if they push you to do 5 more push ups, you quit.
- 34:16I can't do it. I could I can't do it.
- 34:19And they just trying to see how far you going to go, you know
- 34:23how much you going to push yourself, how much fortitude you
- 34:27got and y'all quit before it even start.
- 34:32Don't do that. You know what ain't in here?
- 34:34If it ain't in here and ain't in your heart, don't go messing
- 34:37with the military. Leave that alone.
- 34:38Leave it to the real people. You know what I'm saying?
- 34:41I'm a military veteran so I can speak on it.
- 34:44I'm just saying don't go playing with people and wasting folk
- 34:47time. A truck driver understands that
- 34:51you get to your destination mile by mile.
- 34:56You and you got to understand that you could be sitting there
- 35:01holding this wheel for hours. You might run into traffic
- 35:06construction. You may have to take this big
- 35:09truck through a detour down through some little, small
- 35:12little towns and all that. But you got to keep moving to
- 35:15the destination that you trying to get to.
- 35:19You got to keep going. You got to get the load.
- 35:22You got to get to the destination.
- 35:24The people waiting on their stuff, they depending on you to
- 35:28get there. What if you quit?
- 35:30Will you pull over at the next truck stop?
- 35:32So you know what man, forget this crap.
- 35:33I ain't delivering this stuff. There have been some folk that
- 35:36done it because they just look at truck and there's oh that's
- 35:40easy money. I'm just seeing that hole in the
- 35:41wheel. In most cases you are, but you
- 35:45still got to get there. Still got to get the load there.
- 35:48Life operates the same way y'all.
- 35:52A detour does not mean your destiny or destination has
- 35:58disappeared just because you run into a little roadblock with
- 36:03your little designs and stuff like that or whatever you're
- 36:06trying to do, your blueprints or whatever, regroup, keep pushing,
- 36:14right? Delay does not mean you have
- 36:16been denied. It's because you got a little
- 36:18delay. Take a little longer for them to
- 36:20get, you know, the stuff done for you or, you know, take your
- 36:23little longer for you to get your designs done or your taking
- 36:27the architect a little longer, a little longer for you to get the
- 36:31building specs right. I don't mean to deny your
- 36:35building coming, the business is going to open.
- 36:37It's just taking a little longer.
- 36:38And sometimes, you know, those are necessary distractions.
- 36:42Like you got a it's it's necessary that this happens.
- 36:45That way you can go back. You got extra time to focus and
- 36:49tighten up on stuff. So you want to rush yourself
- 36:51into something and then you out there like, hey, you know, I
- 36:55thought we had everything lined up, the checklist.
- 37:00Then the first night you get there, you ain't got no cups.
- 37:02How you going to sell folk drinks with no cups?
- 37:06I thought he was going to checklist.
- 37:07You gotta be here Monday with cups.
- 37:09So now you got to tell people in the grand opening that we, you
- 37:14know, we ain't selling drinks y'all tonight.
- 37:16We can't we ain't got no cups. So sometime those distractions
- 37:23are, you know, are are good for you.
- 37:25They're they're really, really good, really, really good for
- 37:28you. So ask yourself this question
- 37:31because I got to get ready to get out of here.
- 37:32Y'all I I run a little bit behind, but I got to get out of
- 37:36here. Ask yourself this question.
- 37:39What important assignment have been?
- 37:41I have been tempted to abandon simply because it became
- 37:46difficult. Let me say that again because I
- 37:47read that one like I was reading like a three-year old, y'all, I
- 37:50don't know what happened. It's just like the words that
- 37:53running together. I sound like a three-year old
- 37:56trying to learn how to read, y'all.
- 37:57What important assignment have I been tempted to abandon simply
- 38:01because it became difficult? What?
- 38:06What do you think? Maybe it was your health, maybe
- 38:10it was your family, maybe it was your education, maybe it was
- 38:12your business, maybe it was your ministry, maybe it was your
- 38:15personal healing. I mean, what?
- 38:19Think about that All I'm saying to y'all before I get out of
- 38:23here, because I got to go. Don't quit no matter what.
- 38:30Do not quit. Y'all, do not quit.
- 38:36You got to have the fortitude to finish.
- 38:39Y'all you got to have the fortitude to finish.
