Brothers Convicted in 90s Assaults | Cork News
Two brothers, John and Martin Owens, have been publicly identified for the first time in connection with a string of sexual assaults on teenage girls in the mid-1990s. John, 72, received an eight-year sentence for attacking three girls between 1992 and 1996. His brother Martin, 66, pleaded guilty to assaulting two of those victims — Deirdre Boylan and Lorraine Kiernan — in 1994 and 1996, plus four additional counts against Boylan. The girls, aged 14 to 17, were babysitting for the family at the time. Martin is accused of grooming them and even giving one alcohol. The victims, now adults…
