- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- 0:05Speaker 1: The rex was not chasing the jeep.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Murray, Murray, you there?
- 0:09Speaker 4: You love sandwiches?
- 0:10Speaker 2: Huh, Let's go to eighty bo.
- 0:16Speaker 4: Wow that Prime Time. Maybe I had a crush on
- 0:18Speaker 4: Betty Rubbell.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 2: to commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman was black.
- 0:25Speaker 4: He caught them the game last night, although they won
- 0:28Speaker 4: the game. You're listening to to Gotson Company.
- 0:32Speaker 2: It is to Gods and Company, presented by Vanduel and
- 0:34Speaker 2: the FanDuel Sportsbook. We are doing this an hour before
- 0:37Speaker 2: a live show that I'm not participating in. How about
- 0:41Speaker 2: that Taylor will be there, mikey A will be there.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Is he won't be there because Sal doesn't want him
- 0:47Speaker 2: there and he doesn't want to be there. But Sal
- 0:49Speaker 2: is hosting for us today, and my sense is that
- 0:52Speaker 2: Taylor and mikey A are a bit more excited for
- 0:54Speaker 2: Sal than they.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Would be for the normal show. Is that fair? I mean,
- 0:57Speaker 4: it's fair?
- 0:57Speaker 1: Come on, I mean yeah, I mean, why are we
- 1:01Speaker 1: even talking to you today?
- 1:02Speaker 4: I might listen today?
- 1:07Speaker 2: How about that I'm excited for Sal because Sal ran
- 1:11Speaker 2: into some bad luck at WFAN, and by bad luck,
- 1:15Speaker 2: Greg Carton lost another job and Sal got fired.
- 1:18Speaker 4: And so I'm excited for Sal because he loves.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Radio the way I love radio, Mikey, the way you
- 1:24Speaker 2: love radio, and he gets an opportunity today to do radio,
- 1:28Speaker 2: and he gets to do it with the two of you,
- 1:30Speaker 2: and for.
- 1:31Speaker 4: That, I am grateful and I'm excited for Sal.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Can. I just say something real quick. You always say
- 1:36Speaker 3: the way you love radio, the way mikey A loves radio.
- 1:39Speaker 3: You never say I love radio.
- 1:41Speaker 4: And I'm not certain you love it.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I don't think you do. I don't think you do.
- 1:46Speaker 3: False false false false. I grew up listening to Mike
- 1:51Speaker 3: and the Mad Dog. I would get off the bus
- 1:54Speaker 3: and my grandpa would watch me after school and he
- 1:58Speaker 3: would be listening to Mike and the Mad Dog. And
- 2:00Speaker 3: I would try to go to him as an eight
- 2:02Speaker 3: year old, nine year old who just wanted to talk
- 2:04Speaker 3: about the Yankees.
- 2:05Speaker 4: And you would put it out.
- 2:06Speaker 3: He'd put a hand up, and he goes, wait till
- 2:08Speaker 3: the commercials.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Yeah, it's because they were so fucking good at it, man,
- 2:13Speaker 4: I mean jesus.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Yeah, but Taylor, I used to watch Sports Center, but
- 2:16Speaker 1: I don't love TV the way you love TV.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Kind of yes, So listen, when I got into this industry,
- 2:22Speaker 2: I got into it to do radio. That's all I
- 2:25Speaker 2: ever wanted to do was sports radio. And I'm pretty
- 2:28Speaker 2: certain when mikey A got into the industry he wanted to.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Be a part of a sports radio show.
- 2:33Speaker 2: He loves radio, he knows radio, he knows it well, Taylor,
- 2:37Speaker 2: you didn't grow You're too young. I mean, me and
- 2:40Speaker 2: Mikey are the same age. You didn't grow up wanting
- 2:42Speaker 2: to get into radio.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Listen.
- 2:44Speaker 2: I know you listened to WFA and Mike and the
- 2:48Speaker 2: Mad Dog. But by the time you got around to
- 2:50Speaker 2: being a professional, we had already transitioned out of radio
- 2:53Speaker 2: essentially and into podcasting a digital you know.
- 2:56Speaker 3: So by the time I transitioned into trying to be
- 2:59Speaker 3: a professional. When I'm in my cube job in Northern Virginia,
- 3:04Speaker 3: who do I turn on ESPN Radio The Dan Lebatar
- 3:07Speaker 3: Show with Stu Gotts Where did I Where did I
- 3:10Speaker 3: start to listen to something and be like, oh, I
- 3:12Speaker 3: think I could kind of make this a career. The
- 3:14Speaker 3: Dan LeBatard Show with Stu Gotts On ESPN Radio. It
- 3:19Speaker 3: wasn't watching ESPN News, even though it was a great
- 3:22Speaker 3: visual It was the radio aspect of it.
- 3:25Speaker 4: All right on behalf of me and Dan, Thank you.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I'm certain you probably listened to more of us on
- 3:30Speaker 2: the podcast than you did on live radio.
- 3:32Speaker 4: Is that fair to say?
- 3:34Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 3:34Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 3:38Speaker 1: If by the time you got into radio, Dan and
- 3:41Speaker 1: Stu were already on ESPN Radio, it was late.
- 3:45Speaker 4: It was late in the game, right for us.
- 3:48Speaker 1: You would have said seven ninety ticket, I'd be like, okay,
- 3:51Speaker 1: I get it.
- 3:51Speaker 4: What the glory d is? I mean? Yes, No, we
- 3:54Speaker 4: were good at ESPN.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I mean to be anti establishment inside the biggest establishment
- 4:00Speaker 2: in sports media for eight years was a thrill. But
- 4:03Speaker 2: you're right, probably our best shows were when Mark Hockman
- 4:07Speaker 2: was producing them.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Yes, I'm just saying it's more about Timeline than any No.
- 4:11Speaker 2: That's fair, and that wasn't an unnecessary shot at Mike.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Mike took the whole producing level to a whole new
- 4:17Speaker 2: like he took the whole show to a different level.
- 4:19Speaker 2: He's fantastic. He might be the greatest radio producer that
- 4:22Speaker 2: I've ever worked with. But to Mikey's point, yes, pre
- 4:27Speaker 2: ESPN was probably the hey day for me and Dan.
- 4:29Speaker 3: So, Mikey, you're checking my timelines, you're checking my bona fides.
- 4:33Speaker 3: When I got into the Dan LeBatard Show with Stu Gotts,
- 4:37Speaker 3: yes I would listen on ESPN Radio, but to get
- 4:40Speaker 3: the local hour, I had to tune into seven ninety
- 4:43Speaker 3: the Ticket, I believe.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Right, Yes, yeah you did.
- 4:46Speaker 2: You had to listen to seven ninety the Ticket for
- 4:47Speaker 2: the Well. Now I'm trying to think because even when
- 4:51Speaker 2: we went to ESPN Radio, I think we recorded the
- 4:54Speaker 2: local hour just for the podcast. I'm not one hundred
- 4:56Speaker 2: percent certain. It's all blurred. Hold my career, by the way, and.
- 5:01Speaker 3: I'm listening to a show that's talking about like huber
- 5:05Speaker 3: Do on the Panthers, Jose Fernandez on the Marlins players
- 5:09Speaker 3: that I really don't care about. But I fell in
- 5:11Speaker 3: love with the radio aspect.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Right.
- 5:14Speaker 2: One of the best complements we got as a radio
- 5:16Speaker 2: show is somehow we made people care about the Marlins
- 5:22Speaker 2: and about teams that they wouldn't normally root for. They
- 5:24Speaker 2: were really just interested in us. I mean they were
- 5:27Speaker 2: interested in us as human beings. They were interested in us.
- 5:30Speaker 2: And now we're dynamic and O we're friendships and all
- 5:33Speaker 2: of that, and that's what radio is all about.
- 5:34Speaker 3: So you got people to care about the Marlins. Unfortunately
- 5:37Speaker 3: for the Marlins, it doesn't look like it ever translated into.
- 5:40Speaker 4: A well to South Florida.
- 5:46Speaker 2: They might have more fans out of Florida than they
- 5:49Speaker 2: do in Florida because of me and Dan.
- 5:50Speaker 4: I'll take credit for it, that's right.
- 5:52Speaker 1: But Taylor, I love doing this show. I love working
- 5:56Speaker 1: with Stu, I love the podcast, I love all of it.
- 5:59Speaker 1: But something about the text messages we were having with
- 6:02Speaker 1: Sal last night where we were throwing out sports radio topics,
- 6:06Speaker 1: I'm so discussing what segment we were gonna put them in.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Oh that's sports radio.
- 6:13Speaker 4: I mean this guy is really mapping out a show. Huh.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Structure, I had no idea what that feels like. Fuck structure.
- 6:20Speaker 3: I mean one of the topics to if I could
- 6:23Speaker 3: give you a little peek behind the curtain.
- 6:25Speaker 4: I want all the topics. Do you getting me? Go ahead?
- 6:29Speaker 3: How many current MLB players would go into the Hall
- 6:32Speaker 3: of Fame tomorrow?
- 6:35Speaker 2: Oh wow, so we're not waiting five years anymore. The
- 6:39Speaker 2: first ballot is the day after you retire. Yeah, I mean,
- 6:44Speaker 2: I hate to say it, but Mike Trout is probably
- 6:46Speaker 2: walking into the Hall of Fame tomorrow, right probably probably
- 6:52Speaker 2: probably he is.
- 6:54Speaker 1: They make him wait a year.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Aaron Judge is probably walking into the Hall of Fame,
- 7:00Speaker 2: all right, strong?
- 7:02Speaker 4: Straight? Yes?
- 7:03Speaker 1: Uh?
- 7:03Speaker 2: Is Stanton walking into the Hall of Fame? Or does
- 7:06Speaker 2: he have to wait five days?
- 7:07Speaker 4: I mean, how does that? This is?
- 7:08Speaker 1: This is a contentious one because this is one, this
- 7:11Speaker 1: is one where there's some pushback.
- 7:12Speaker 4: I don't think Stanton he's not a first ballot guy.
- 7:15Speaker 2: And so if the new first ballot is the day
- 7:18Speaker 2: after your retire, Stanton's not walking into that place.
- 7:20Speaker 4: There's no way.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I'm watching bord op Ricardo turn his head because we're
- 7:24Speaker 1: saying bad things about Stanton. But what he doesn't realize is,
- 7:28Speaker 1: as a Yankee fan, we're getting post Seahawks Russell Wilson Stanton. Yes, right,
- 7:33Speaker 1: we haven't. We didn't see the Stanton he saw right.
- 7:40Speaker 3: To be fair to John Carlos Stan, he's batting three.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Go ahead. Im sorry to be fair.
- 7:47Speaker 3: To John Carlos Stan. He's batting three forty one this season.
- 7:50Speaker 4: It's eleven games in man. Yeah, he an injury right
- 7:54Speaker 4: around the corner.
- 7:54Speaker 1: The problem isn't when he plays. The problem is when
- 7:58Speaker 1: he plays.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Ah, is Freddie Freeman walking into the Hall of Fame.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I think that's a good one, I believe. I think
- 8:06Speaker 1: that's yeah, I believe.
- 8:07Speaker 2: So.
- 8:08Speaker 4: I had to put my glasses on to just see
- 8:10Speaker 4: some of these guys.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Vlad hasn't done enough yet, right, So he's not walking
- 8:13Speaker 2: into the Hall of Fame.
- 8:14Speaker 4: He hasn't been around enough.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I have I have flat on his way. I have
- 8:17Speaker 1: I have Lad a year or two away from being
- 8:20Speaker 1: able to walk in.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Yeah, what a top it by sal So so on
- 8:24Speaker 3: their way.
- 8:25Speaker 1: This was a mikey a special Right, I love it.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't get me those I mean walking is right?
- 8:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, come on, he's riding a unicorn in.
- 8:35Speaker 2: He should be walking in with handcuffs anyway, Go ahead
- 8:38Speaker 2: to Altove is strolling into the Hall.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Of Fame next time?
- 8:43Speaker 3: Yeah, they're carrying him?
- 8:45Speaker 4: Is a Springer.
- 8:47Speaker 3: We gotta have some standards.
- 8:49Speaker 4: I mean, Taylor, you're a Yankee fan, you're biased.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Uh, He's hit monster home runs in the postseason against you,
- 8:55Speaker 2: and he's done it both with the Astros with the
- 8:58Speaker 2: Blue Jays.
- 8:59Speaker 4: So I'm not saying he's a first day Hall of Famer,
- 9:03Speaker 4: but like third day perhaps, is that? Is that?
- 9:06Speaker 1: No?
- 9:06Speaker 4: Wow, you guys will not listen.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Good Hall of very So Springer is not a Hall
- 9:13Speaker 2: of Famer period, is what you're saying.
- 9:16Speaker 3: I don't think.
- 9:16Speaker 1: So. He has a shot. He has a shot, he's
- 9:19Speaker 1: got an outside chance.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Uh, cal Rawley hasn't done enough.
- 9:22Speaker 4: I'm trying to think. If there's a picture out there.
- 9:24Speaker 1: There's two of them, there's two, there's two easy ones.
- 9:27Speaker 1: And they were.
- 9:27Speaker 4: Teammates, two easy pitchers. You're saying, yes, they.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Were teammates on the Mets.
- 9:34Speaker 1: And the Tigers.
- 9:35Speaker 4: They were teammates. Yeah, he went for the Mets.
- 9:40Speaker 1: To you might have had a better chance on the Tigers.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Well, nobody really associates them on the Mets because they
- 9:46Speaker 3: were on the Mets for so short and their tenure
- 9:48Speaker 3: there went so poorly.
- 9:51Speaker 4: Is is Blake Well, Blake Snell wasn't a Met.
- 9:54Speaker 3: I think Tigers career, Tigers and Nats maybe Scooba.
- 10:01Speaker 4: He wasn't a Mets though.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I think you should just give him the answer.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Yeah, I think you should.
- 10:05Speaker 3: He's drowned justin Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer.
- 10:10Speaker 4: Oh God, I forgot about Verlin.
- 10:11Speaker 2: There's a cup of coffee with the Mets, and Sure's
- 10:13Speaker 2: there's Jesus Christ and got him fifteen years too late.
- 10:16Speaker 3: It's like a cup of coffee that you had that
- 10:18Speaker 3: you immediately spilled on yourself, like.
- 10:25Speaker 4: You forgot the splendor.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a cup of coffee you left on
- 10:29Speaker 1: the counter too long, so it got warm but not cold,
- 10:32Speaker 1: so you can make it an iced coffee.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's bad. I understand what you guys are saying.
- 10:37Speaker 2: It's like Jesus Christ. Sure, I don't Sure's walking.
- 10:41Speaker 4: Into the Hall of Fame easily.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Oh my god, there's no way. Is so Todi walking
- 10:46Speaker 2: into the Hall of Fame as a picture? I mean,
- 10:50Speaker 2: I know he's walking in as a hitter, but if
- 10:52Speaker 2: he was just a picture.
- 10:53Speaker 1: No, if he was just a picture now.
- 10:55Speaker 2: And there's no one else, that's it. What happened to
- 10:57Speaker 2: the starter? I mean, it's a better one. I don't
- 11:04Speaker 2: know that they'll ever be another reliever to make it.
- 11:11Speaker 2: There's some relievers that are that are probably worthy, that
- 11:14Speaker 2: are still waiting to get in.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Now, right maybe, but like, there's no the The Closer
- 11:20Speaker 1: is a one and two year thing.
- 11:22Speaker 4: Now it feels like, right, yeah, that's fair.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Who's the next picture after those two starters? Is there another?
- 11:29Speaker 2: Is there are there any other Hall of Fame pictures?
- 11:33Speaker 4: Like, I know it's Cole.
- 11:34Speaker 1: I guess Eric Cole could could play his way there.
- 11:37Speaker 4: I guess Skiens.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I guess Schlittler Taylor would trade straight up for Skeens.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Because if you're gonna make Skiens a Hall of Famer,
- 11:44Speaker 2: and you would trade them straight up for Schlitler, then
- 11:46Speaker 2: by I guess, you know, by extension, Schlitzler becomes a
- 11:49Speaker 2: Hall of Famer first day.
- 11:51Speaker 3: So I don't think Schlitler would be a Hall of
- 11:53Speaker 3: Famer if the MLB ended today. And I don't think
- 11:55Speaker 3: Grett Cole would be a Hall of Famer if an
- 11:58Speaker 3: MLB ended today.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 12:00Speaker 2: That was the name I was fishing for, by the way,
- 12:02Speaker 2: the entire time was Garrett Cole.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Yes, but there is another Yankee who, if the MLB
- 12:06Speaker 3: ended today, is an immediately an immediate Hall of Famer.
- 12:10Speaker 3: That's not Aaron Judge. He's currently on the Yankees bench.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Paul Goldschmidt.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he's going in. He's won MVPs yep. I
- 12:19Speaker 2: said that plural. I'm not certain if he's won more
- 12:21Speaker 2: than one.
- 12:22Speaker 4: No, you know he's won one.
- 12:23Speaker 3: He's won one MVP, five Silver Sluggers, four Gold Gloves,
- 12:26Speaker 3: seven time All Star, and he's one of five current
- 12:30Speaker 3: active players with over two thousand hits. I think all
- 12:33Speaker 3: these guys are Hall of famers. Freddie Freeman, Altuve, Andrew McCutchen,
- 12:37Speaker 3: Gold Schmidt, Manny Machado.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Oh, I forgot about McCutcheon and Machado.
- 12:41Speaker 4: That's a good one.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Mccutcheen's he won an MVP as well, did he not?
- 12:44Speaker 1: Yes?
- 12:45Speaker 4: Yes, yes?
- 12:46Speaker 2: Was that Ricardo? Because all he does is watch baseball,
- 12:51Speaker 2: running your horizons.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Dude, Ricardo has been giving the thumbs up her thumbs
- 12:55Speaker 3: down to every name that we've given.
- 12:57Speaker 4: If they're a Hall of Famer, well that's all. Why
- 12:59Speaker 4: ask me.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Let's just ask Ricardo. I will, I will do the
- 13:02Speaker 2: play by play. Freddy Freeman. Thumbs up, thumbs down, Yes.
- 13:06Speaker 4: Thumbs up. I don't want to hear a word. No,
- 13:08Speaker 4: we don't want to hear you.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Just do the thing you're doing with your hand.
- 13:11Speaker 4: That's it, way too wordy, Freddy Freeman. Ask him some
- 13:14Speaker 4: more schoobol.
- 13:16Speaker 2: First, he retires today, does he walk into the Hall
- 13:20Speaker 2: of Fame tomorrow? Thumbs up, thumbs down and gave a
- 13:22Speaker 2: thumbs down skens thumbs up, thumbs.
- 13:27Speaker 4: That g this is rivety. Tell fucking sal to do this.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Huh oh, he's given the he's given the waving, the
- 13:35Speaker 1: waving middle finger.
- 13:36Speaker 4: For Garrett Cole.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Yes, no, yes, no, yes. I think we should use
- 13:46Speaker 1: whatever power we have as a as a group, as
- 13:49Speaker 1: a show and get Ricardo a Hall of Fame vote.
- 13:54Speaker 4: Deserves it. No one cares about baseball more than him.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Seriously, that should be our plea. That's the platform were
- 14:00Speaker 3: running on. Nobody cares more about baseball than him.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Daven Kirchen, Oh my god, it is so.
- 14:08Speaker 3: I have a name for Ricardo, whether or not he's
- 14:11Speaker 3: a Hall of Famer if he if his career ended today.
- 14:14Speaker 4: Bryce Harper, Oh that's such a good yes thumbs.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Wow, he did an immediate thumbs up.
- 14:20Speaker 4: How about uh Acunya now he's thinking about it.
- 14:25Speaker 3: A deep sigh too if people heard if there.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Was a deep sigh, I mean potential, feel free to
- 14:30Speaker 4: pass this on to South if he wants to do
- 14:32Speaker 4: live radio this way.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Okay, Wow, Acuna got the thumbs down.
- 14:38Speaker 4: He got a thumbs down.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Yeah, really, Salvatore Perez.
- 14:42Speaker 4: That's such a good one.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yes, Machado thumbs up, yeah, Trout thumbs up.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Oh man, this.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Is Salvor Perez got a thumbs up too.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I know, I know, I saw that. I saw the
- 14:56Speaker 2: thumbs up. I'm trying to think anyone else we're leaving
- 14:58Speaker 2: off here.
- 14:59Speaker 3: What about Chris by Christian Yellows.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Yelly wow, really, Yellich, you have yellow thumbs up. Won
- 15:06Speaker 2: an m v P right after Forget getting him.
- 15:09Speaker 1: A vote, forget getting him a vote.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Oh, because he was a Marlin. That's that's He's got biases,
- 15:15Speaker 3: which I respect as a voter.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Yeah, but his best years were with the Brewers, man like,
- 15:21Speaker 2: and he does nothing in the postseason. I mean he really,
- 15:24Speaker 2: he's not a great postseason player. Yellwich is not a
- 15:27Speaker 2: first ballot Hall of Famer. The first ballots reserved for
- 15:30Speaker 2: the great the all time greats, like Paul Goldschmidt.
- 15:34Speaker 3: So Ricardo Ricardo has moved off Yellich as an as
- 15:39Speaker 3: a Hall of Famer. He's he switched to a thumbs down.
- 15:41Speaker 2: This is just first ballot. I haven't gotten to five
- 15:44Speaker 2: days out just first ballot. Okay, so he's not, but
- 15:47Speaker 2: you would put him in five days later. Right, eventually
- 15:50Speaker 2: he gets into the Hall of Fame.
- 15:54Speaker 3: You're making this tough by not letting him talk.
- 15:57Speaker 1: All the time.
- 16:00Speaker 3: What about Mookie Betts.
- 16:01Speaker 1: We should we should do this to Izzy every once
- 16:04Speaker 1: in a while.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Oh my god, we do, and he hates us. Mookie
- 16:10Speaker 3: Betts got a thumbs up, Cookie Bets.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I honestly, I honestly, Mookie Bets is a thumbs up.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Mike. No, Mookie Betts is never the best player on
- 16:20Speaker 1: his own team.
- 16:21Speaker 4: Mike, let me just like a two time MVP man.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Let me read off. Never his acclades.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Yeah, he has an MVP.
- 16:29Speaker 3: He's an eight time All Star, six time, six time
- 16:32Speaker 3: Gold Glove, seven times Silver Slugger, he has a batting title,
- 16:35Speaker 3: and he's won four World Series.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Of every name, blah blah, of all the names minus
- 16:41Speaker 2: Mike Troud, he might be the best player.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Movie Bets better than Betty.
- 16:47Speaker 1: He's not better than Freddy. Freddy strikes strikes fear in
- 16:51Speaker 1: the heart. Mookie Betts doesn't.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Did you say Mookie Betts was never the best team
- 16:55Speaker 3: on his championship team. He was definitely the best player
- 16:57Speaker 3: on the Red Sox.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I said he was never the best player on
- 17:01Speaker 1: his own team when they were good, but I guess
- 17:03Speaker 1: on the Red Sox he was. Though the Red Sox
- 17:05Speaker 1: is different.
- 17:06Speaker 4: Yeah, so on that first they weren't.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Good when he was with the Red Sox, I mean
- 17:09Speaker 3: they won a World Series.
- 17:10Speaker 4: They won a series with.
- 17:11Speaker 1: The Red Sox. Yeah, he was on that team and
- 17:13Speaker 1: he was the.
- 17:14Speaker 4: Best player on Oh, yes, you want to put him
- 17:15Speaker 4: in there.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I apologize, Mookie Bets. I apologize I was wrong.
- 17:20Speaker 4: And then he went to the Dodgers and won one
- 17:22Speaker 4: there or won several.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Yeah, y, Freddy Freeman carried him.
- 17:26Speaker 2: So he has four World Series, Mookie Bets. Yeah, I
- 17:29Speaker 2: mean he's strolling in man.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I apologize.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Does he have a World Series? MVP? Taylor? I apologize.
- 17:34Speaker 4: You may have covered that.
- 17:36Speaker 3: No, I don't believe.
- 17:37Speaker 2: So no, no, And how many without Otani? So he
- 17:41Speaker 2: won one without Otani? And Otani has never won one
- 17:43Speaker 2: without Bets.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Uh?
- 17:46Speaker 3: Yeah, that is where I'm going here, right. I believe
- 17:49Speaker 3: the one that he won on the Dodgers without Otani
- 17:52Speaker 3: was the COVID one.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Yeah, so that's what. Yeah, but Otani do it without bets.
- 17:57Speaker 4: I mean and or.
- 18:03Speaker 3: We just gotta brush that over.
- 18:07Speaker 4: That he didn't notice. I don't care how much money
- 18:09Speaker 4: you have in your checking account.
- 18:11Speaker 2: When someone takes fourteen million dollars out of the account,
- 18:15Speaker 2: you fucking notice, as salvat today, Okay, why am I last?
- 18:21Speaker 4: You got it?
- 18:21Speaker 1: Sow, there's no room in the show. We're booked.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Who do you have just make me insanely jealous with
- 18:28Speaker 2: some big time guess, even if it's a lie, I
- 18:31Speaker 2: don't care.
- 18:31Speaker 5: So I asked Sal, Hey, Salt judge, No, we got Mookie.
- 18:47Speaker 5: I asked sal today, Hey, do you need me to
- 18:49Speaker 5: try to book any guests for you? And he said, no, guest,
- 18:53Speaker 5: just let me go.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Ah, yes, I love it. He's gonna go. He was
- 18:57Speaker 4: ready to go. It's time. Motherfucker has been waiting for
- 19:01Speaker 4: this for a long time.
- 19:03Speaker 2: He kept thanking me again last night, even after the show,
- 19:05Speaker 2: and I kept telling him, responding to him via text.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Stop thanking me.
- 19:09Speaker 2: You gave me a day off, and I don't have
- 19:11Speaker 2: to worry about the show because I know it's in
- 19:13Speaker 2: good hands with salth. I do because he cares about
- 19:16Speaker 2: this stuff. He cares about radio, unlike daylor stop saying
- 19:20Speaker 2: that slander.
- 19:22Speaker 4: I think you've grown to love the doing of radio.
- 19:24Speaker 4: Is that fair?
- 19:25Speaker 2: You weren't certain how you were gonna feel about it
- 19:27Speaker 2: when we first got started. But being in there and
- 19:31Speaker 2: as I like to describe it, doing that high wire
- 19:33Speaker 2: act where you're without a net, you're live. You have
- 19:37Speaker 2: no idea if you're going to hit the hard network
- 19:38Speaker 2: out or not. But it makes you feel alive, doesn't it.
- 19:41Speaker 3: So this again, this is defamation of my character and
- 19:46Speaker 3: my love for radio.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Stup.
- 19:48Speaker 3: There were times when I was at Carolina that I
- 19:50Speaker 3: would spend my spring break going to wfan and just
- 19:55Speaker 3: asking them, Hey, can I just watch shows because I
- 19:59Speaker 3: love sports radio.
- 20:01Speaker 4: No, I understand that, but I was.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I was nervous on your behalf when we started doing
- 20:06Speaker 2: the radio show because I just didn't know, Like, I
- 20:09Speaker 2: didn't know how you would feel about it. I didn't
- 20:11Speaker 2: know if you would enjoy the doing of it. It's
- 20:14Speaker 2: a lot what we're doing with the podcast and then
- 20:16Speaker 2: the radio show.
- 20:16Speaker 4: It's just a lot. It's a lot for me, but.
- 20:19Speaker 2: My senses after a couple of successful bits that you
- 20:24Speaker 2: enjoy it. It's a two hour sprint, and I think
- 20:26Speaker 2: Mikey he seems to enjoy it very much and he's
- 20:28Speaker 2: very good at it.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Yes, that's all of those things are true. But Taylor,
- 20:32Speaker 1: you ever been on a movie set. No, it's boring.
- 20:36Speaker 1: It is awful. It is it is, it is. It
- 20:39Speaker 1: is one of the most tedious things you could ever watch.
- 20:43Speaker 1: But I love going to the movies. So there's a
- 20:45Speaker 1: big difference between I love the movies and I love
- 20:48Speaker 1: making movies.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Right, Listening to Mike and Chris do a great radio
- 20:52Speaker 2: show is different than having to produce one yourself, you know,
- 20:55Speaker 2: And that's what.
- 20:56Speaker 4: I was worried about. That's it.
- 20:57Speaker 3: And also WFA n is a bit different to where
- 21:00Speaker 3: you could see the callboards light up and it's like
- 21:04Speaker 3: Chris in Rockland County wants to talk about Jason Scarr,
- 21:07Speaker 3: the Yankees backup catcher, and it's like, wow, that's.
- 21:10Speaker 4: What those calls.
- 21:12Speaker 1: He's been waiting to get this takeout.
- 21:15Speaker 4: So Taylor, I'll tell you.
- 21:16Speaker 2: The first show I did was after I think a
- 21:19Speaker 2: the PGA Championship Tiger won it. It was a Sunday night,
- 21:22Speaker 2: it was it was the first show I had ever
- 21:23Speaker 2: done at w FA and I'm sitting in franchise franchise.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I just called him your character.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Sitting in Frances's chair. I'm a little bit nervous. I
- 21:34Speaker 2: have to be honest. And every line, I still have
- 21:38Speaker 2: seven minutes before I'm going on air because we're in
- 21:40Speaker 2: a commercial break, okay, and it's right.
- 21:44Speaker 4: After the PGA, and it's a Sunday night.
- 21:45Speaker 2: I'm nervous. I'm not certain how many people are listening.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Every line is lived up. They don't know who they're
- 21:51Speaker 2: speaking to. They don't care who they're speaking to. It
- 21:54Speaker 2: doesn't matter if it's Me Carton, Gianatti, Bloomer, Evan rob
- 22:00Speaker 2: they don't care. They just want to talk about the
- 22:03Speaker 2: Mets and Yankees backup catchers.
- 22:04Speaker 4: That's it. It was glorious.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I loved it. I missed that place, and so does
- 22:11Speaker 2: fucking sal Can.
- 22:12Speaker 3: I tell you guys, something that happened to me yesterday.
- 22:15Speaker 3: So my cousin from Italy is in town visiting. His
- 22:20Speaker 3: parents live in like the Boca area. So my cousin,
- 22:26Speaker 3: who lives in Italy and his sons all grew up
- 22:29Speaker 3: in Italy. They're like ten and seven. They come, We're
- 22:32Speaker 3: at dinner. They're asking me what I do. I'm like, oh,
- 22:34Speaker 3: I work, in sports radio. They're like, oh, what's the
- 22:37Speaker 3: name of your sports radio show? And keep in mind,
- 22:40Speaker 3: these are kids that are going to school in Italy
- 22:43Speaker 3: learning Italian every day. And I was like, it's Stu
- 22:46Speaker 3: gottson Company and they go this dick and I was like, oh,
- 22:54Speaker 3: I was like, oh, yeah, this is this is kind
- 22:57Speaker 3: of tough to explain. They're like, what do you talk about?
- 22:59Speaker 2: I'm like sports, last last name Wiener. That's what That's
- 23:08Speaker 2: what it means, though, right, I mean.
- 23:10Speaker 4: I'm a dick. You're a Wiener, A small one, a
- 23:19Speaker 4: big dick. Though.
- 23:21Speaker 3: It was a tough one. It was a tough one
- 23:23Speaker 3: to explain to the the elementary school crowd.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Yeah, so have they listened or like no.
- 23:31Speaker 3: No, I told them probably probably a couple more years.
- 23:35Speaker 1: What do they think about thinking about it? Think about
- 23:37Speaker 1: a Thursday?
- 23:39Speaker 4: How are you gonna do that with soal today?
- 23:40Speaker 3: That really that was the other problem. That was the
- 23:47Speaker 3: other problem we were running into where they were like, oh,
- 23:50Speaker 3: what do you talk about? I'm like sports and they're like, oh,
- 23:51Speaker 3: maybe we'll listen, And I'm like, well, you guys really
- 23:54Speaker 3: only seem like you care about soccer. We're not going
- 23:56Speaker 3: to be talking too much soccer on this show. Sal said,
- 24:00Speaker 3: uh no, my cousins.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Well, yeah, tell your cousin I love them because he
- 24:07Speaker 2: doesn't want to talk about soccer, doesn't want soccer, right.
- 24:09Speaker 3: No, the opposite, They only care about soccer in Italy.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Then tell them I'll hate our show, okay, And I
- 24:15Speaker 2: don't want them listening. I don't want any soccer fans listening.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I don't care because soccer is boring. It's dreadful. Uh.
- 24:21Speaker 2: And the World Cup is coming and I don't care,
- 24:23Speaker 2: and no one else cares because the United States bound
- 24:26Speaker 2: is the United States even in it?
- 24:27Speaker 4: Yeah they qualified, Yeah, we're hosting.
- 24:29Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. Their hosts their their host country. They're automatically.
- 24:32Speaker 4: Oh so they get an automatic bid yep.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Wow, it's gonna be short lived. They play first in
- 24:40Speaker 2: the group stage. Taylor's looking it out, to look it up.
- 24:46Speaker 3: I was going to try to make a joke.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Yes, I'm just gonna make a joke that they'll be
- 24:50Speaker 2: out after that. They'll be out after one game of
- 24:52Speaker 2: the group stage, if that's possible at the World Cup.
- 24:54Speaker 4: I don't know the roots.
- 24:55Speaker 1: It's not, but I get what you're saying.
- 24:57Speaker 4: It's over the story for the United States. It was
- 25:00Speaker 4: all I'm saying. Have you guys checked out the Masters
- 25:02Speaker 4: at all today?
- 25:04Speaker 1: Is that on? Now?
- 25:08Speaker 2: You're pissing me on? You guys are happy because it's
- 25:12Speaker 2: all I be talking about today.
- 25:13Speaker 4: I understood.
- 25:14Speaker 3: I have a small flyer on Tommy Fleetwood after you
- 25:18Speaker 3: recommended it.
- 25:19Speaker 4: I did. I did recommend them. Where is he at
- 25:21Speaker 4: three under right now?
- 25:22Speaker 3: He's at three under?
- 25:23Speaker 4: Yeah, Freddie Couples.
- 25:25Speaker 2: It's a tradition unlike any other minus two after four holes, right,
- 25:30Speaker 2: It's fucking.
- 25:31Speaker 4: Crazy, man. I saw Jose Maria Ola Thabel, who has
- 25:35Speaker 4: won the thing. He's sixty years old. He was minus
- 25:37Speaker 4: two after three.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Some of these guys have memorized the front nine where
- 25:40Speaker 2: I'm telling you, every single year, these guys are going
- 25:43Speaker 2: to come out.
- 25:44Speaker 4: They'll put up.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Nice numbers first nine holes, then they get a little
- 25:47Speaker 2: bit tired. The back line is a little bit more
- 25:48Speaker 2: tricky than the front nine. And then you see guys
- 25:50Speaker 2: like Couples and Ola thabble. They start off hot, maybe
- 25:54Speaker 2: they stick around for a round or two. It's exciting,
- 25:56Speaker 2: but eventually they go away. They just do so I'll
- 26:00Speaker 2: be glued to it the entire weekend. I can't wait.
- 26:02Speaker 2: You guys don't like golf the way I like golf.
- 26:04Speaker 2: You don't like this major the way I like this major.
- 26:06Speaker 2: You don't like radio the way I radio
