- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, uh, I sure will. Good morning everybody you
- 0:07Speaker 1: are listening to the voice, Come on, dig me now,
- 0:09Speaker 1: one and all that Steve Harvey got a radio show
- 0:15Speaker 1: particular me this morning. Steve Harvey got a radio show
- 0:20Speaker 1: filled with nothing but joy and hope about it too.
- 0:24Speaker 1: You know, it's a great thing to be able to
- 0:25Speaker 1: wake up in the morning with peace in your heart
- 0:28Speaker 1: and joy. Peace and joy is is immeasurable. It has
- 0:33Speaker 1: a value attached to it, and I have no idea
- 0:36Speaker 1: what it is. It's invaluable. It is worth so much
- 0:39Speaker 1: more than any amount of money you can make. Peace
- 0:43Speaker 1: and joy I have not always had that.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I've not always been a peaceful person or a person
- 0:52Speaker 2: who lived his life and enjoy spirit. It took an
- 0:57Speaker 2: arrival at this moment. Some people arrive sooner than others.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I wish I had arrived at this point sooner, but
- 1:06Speaker 2: I think it was necessary for me to learn a
- 1:08Speaker 2: few things too. That's the amazing thing I've learned about
- 1:12Speaker 2: life is that instead of reflecting on your past incidences
- 1:19Speaker 2: and calling them failures, instead of focusing on the negative
- 1:23Speaker 2: and calling them bad times, I look at them now
- 1:29Speaker 2: as experiences. I had to have those experiences that were negative,
- 1:34Speaker 2: that were good, positive, wrong, evil. I had to have
- 1:39Speaker 2: all those experiences to become to shape who we are today.
- 1:46Speaker 2: We all have to have them. If you look back
- 1:49Speaker 2: at all the negative experiences you've had, all the things
- 1:53Speaker 2: that you called failures, all the businesses I started that
- 1:57Speaker 2: went under, all of the jobs I had that I
- 1:59Speaker 2: was fired from, all the shows that were canceled, all
- 2:04Speaker 2: of the times I thought I was going to get
- 2:07Speaker 2: something happened in my way and turned out I didn't
- 2:09Speaker 2: get it at all. When you look at all of it,
- 2:12Speaker 2: all of it, hopefully along the way, what you have
- 2:15Speaker 2: done as a person is you've taken those negatives and
- 2:19Speaker 2: those failures and you've used them for what they actually are.
- 2:23Speaker 2: They are experiences, and they've now created in you an
- 2:28Speaker 2: experienced person, and you know that is worth something. That's
- 2:35Speaker 2: then it becomes a positive. But what too many people
- 2:39Speaker 2: do is they let the negative things that have happened
- 2:42Speaker 2: in their life. They allow the failures that have happened
- 2:45Speaker 2: in them lives never to manifest themselves as experiences. And
- 2:50Speaker 2: you sit up there and you dwell on it, and
- 2:52Speaker 2: you dwell on it until you have this woe is
- 2:55Speaker 2: me attitude. Stop looking at it like that, y'all. You
- 2:59Speaker 2: go through things in order to become the person that
- 3:02Speaker 2: you are today. I tell you who you sometimes have
- 3:05Speaker 2: to sit down and talk to. Sometimes you ought to
- 3:07Speaker 2: sit down to an inmate that really gets it, an
- 3:11Speaker 2: inmate that says, man. I've actually heard inmates say it
- 3:15Speaker 2: to me and write to me, and they've said things like, man,
- 3:19Speaker 2: come into prison, save my life. Now, those of you
- 3:22Speaker 2: have never got how can he say a thing like that?
- 3:24Speaker 2: But some men know, man, I was so far out
- 3:28Speaker 2: there that if I'd have stayed out there, I wouldn't
- 3:30Speaker 2: even be here today. This actually allowed me to stop,
- 3:33Speaker 2: spend some time with myself and learn some things about me.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Now does that happen for everybody?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Like that?
- 3:39Speaker 2: And A but here's a person who has taking an
- 3:42Speaker 2: experience that could be considered a failure or negative and
- 3:45Speaker 2: turn it into a positive and using it to enrich
- 3:48Speaker 2: their lives. You can do it no matter what your
- 3:51Speaker 2: set of circumstances is. I recommend to everybody that you
- 3:54Speaker 2: try changing your outlook in order to change your outcome.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Everything that happens to you that's negative or you consider
- 4:02Speaker 2: failure their experiences You've got to go through these things
- 4:05Speaker 2: in order to have the knowledge that you have today.
- 4:08Speaker 2: So I wish that I had come to this arrival
- 4:11Speaker 2: that I'm in now, this place of peace and joy.
- 4:14Speaker 2: But then guess what, I will not know what I know.
- 4:17Speaker 2: I couldnot share some of the things that I'm able
- 4:20Speaker 2: to share if I had not gone through some of them.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And sometimes that's the purpose of them. It's to teach
- 4:25Speaker 2: you a lesson, because you know, God has a plan
- 4:28Speaker 2: for you. He really really does, and eventually he can
- 4:31Speaker 2: use you no matter how old you are, and he
- 4:34Speaker 2: can use you no matter how young you are. If
- 4:37Speaker 2: you just say, Okay, I'm ready to hear your plan.
- 4:40Speaker 2: I've tried mine. Mine ain't worked out. What's your plan
- 4:43Speaker 2: for me? God, what do you want me to do?
- 4:46Speaker 2: That's why I say every day, Steve already got radio show, y'all.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Cause man, I ain't see it coming. I didn't see
- 4:52Speaker 2: that coming. I ain't see this book coming. I ain't
- 4:55Speaker 2: I ain't seen half of the amazing things that have
- 4:58Speaker 2: happened to me. I didn't plan them. I was sitting there, man,
- 5:02Speaker 2: asking God for some direction. And then I got smart
- 5:06Speaker 2: enough to stay watchful, be a hard worker. Now because
- 5:09Speaker 2: faithful our works is dead and it came. And I'll
- 5:12Speaker 2: remind you of this. God has given all of you
- 5:14Speaker 2: a gift. Every last one of you listening has a gift.
- 5:18Speaker 2: God has never created a soul that He did not
- 5:20Speaker 2: provide a gift to. God gives everyone a gift, and
- 5:25Speaker 2: a gift is not just singing, rapping entertainment. The richer
- 5:29Speaker 2: gifts are much more than that. Teachers are gifted people
- 5:33Speaker 2: who really have the gift of sharing information. That's a gift,
- 5:38Speaker 2: you know, and in that you can become great.
- 5:42Speaker 1: You know, a.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Lot of people think that successful and greatness is the
- 5:48Speaker 2: same thing. Cornell West said it at my daughter's graduation.
- 5:52Speaker 2: He was a spokesperson. He said something so pointed. He said,
- 5:55Speaker 2: don't ever confuse success with greatness. The two have nothing
- 6:00Speaker 2: to do with each other. See, people determine success about
- 6:03Speaker 2: money and fame and all this here, but greatness. Greatness
- 6:07Speaker 2: ain't got nothing to do with your money. It ain't
- 6:09Speaker 2: got nothing to do with your fame. It's how you
- 6:11Speaker 2: conduct your life. It's how meaningful and significant you become
- 6:16Speaker 2: in your community, at your church, on your job, to
- 6:20Speaker 2: the cub Scout unit that you run to the little
- 6:23Speaker 2: girl's lives, that you change that that little center in
- 6:25Speaker 2: the hood where you just one place of hope to
- 6:28Speaker 2: so many people and they come back. And I used
- 6:31Speaker 2: the example of Lou Danzler who passed away in LA
- 6:34Speaker 2: who had the Boys and Girls Challenges Club out in
- 6:37Speaker 2: LA And he wasn't a rich man at all, and
- 6:39Speaker 2: if you walk by him, you wouldn't even know who
- 6:41Speaker 2: he was. But if you look at all the people
- 6:44Speaker 2: who have gone on to become politicians, who have gone
- 6:47Speaker 2: on to become CEOs, who have gone on to become athletes,
- 6:51Speaker 2: that have passed through this man's small building in the
- 6:54Speaker 2: hood in La, he was great. Trust me, man. Prayer
- 6:59Speaker 2: changes things, as I said all the time. But when
- 7:01Speaker 2: you see people become successful or great that somebody praying
- 7:05Speaker 2: somewhere may not even beat them, maybe it's they. Mama.
- 7:08Speaker 2: You know, I think of Tiger Woods and all the
- 7:10Speaker 2: greatness he's accomplished. You know, they always talk about his
- 7:13Speaker 2: father and all this here somebody somewhere praying for Tiger Woods.
- 7:18Speaker 2: I got cash money riding on that Tiger Woods. Mama
- 7:21Speaker 2: is a praying woman or something. My mother was. She
- 7:24Speaker 2: prayed me into this place because she used to call
- 7:26Speaker 2: me all the time. Praying for your boy, and prayer
- 7:29Speaker 2: changes things. It really does. Try it today. It can
- 7:33Speaker 2: change you. It has changed millions of people. Open up
- 7:37Speaker 2: yourself to the greatness that's in you, because God is
- 7:39Speaker 2: giving you a gift matter fact that you ain't using it.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Who fought you think that is? I'm just telling you
- 7:45Speaker 2: you got one, and if you start praying about it,
- 7:49Speaker 2: it'll manifest itself and you can become one of two things,
- 7:53Speaker 2: successful or great or both. You can make the decision today.
- 8:00Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
