- 1:57we're getting the gavel. I have Mathis Matthews. I have judged Jerry.
- 2:01I haven't spent time with Jerry in a while. I go to the Mathis
- 2:05well quite often. I love judge matth You gotta love judgment. You were
- 2:07very excited about this case. I would like for you to start because I
- 2:10just can't wait anymore. Yeah, this is a why one here and this
- 2:15is all Mathis. This is a Mathis show for sure. Larry Baker,
- 2:20let me introduce you to Larry Baker. Larry Baker, he is suing Robert
- 2:23Goddard for twenty six hundred dollars in bail money that he spent to get his
- 2:30girlfriend, who is Robert Goddard's ex wife, out of jail. Okay,
- 2:38sorry, let me watch this. So plaintiff is suing the defendant for twenty
- 2:43six because for bail money that he spent to get the defendant's wife x wife
- 2:51xife, his girlfriend, his girlfriend out of jail, out of jail.
- 2:53I can't figure out how he's suing this guy. Robert Goddard, the defendant,
- 3:00is countersuing Larry Baker fifteen hundred for emotional distress. Okay, I thought
- 3:06he might. Yeah, so let's get in with Larry right now. Legal.
- 3:09Larry's like, look, the biggest reason why we're here is because he
- 3:14thought I had an affair with his wife. Yeah, but you're suing him.
- 3:19Okay, Okay, Sorry, that first senate should tell you that.
- 3:22Nothing I'm about to say that for the rest of my story is going to
- 3:24make any sense. He thought I had an affair with his wife. He's
- 3:30this man is currently dating that man's ex wife. Yes, okay, he
- 3:36says, he said, now as of March this year, yes, I
- 3:39did have sex with her. Okay, but they were not married at that
- 3:44time and they still aren't married. They haven't got to not back there.
- 3:49And then he says, we get together, sleep together, have a relationship
- 3:53now, but it was after they were divorced. I I only knew her
- 4:00because Robert's wife or ex wives the girl I ended up dating her girlfriend and
- 4:03I were friends, so I just like, but he's mad because he thinks
- 4:09that I had an affair with his wife. And matthis is like, but
- 4:13you you are sleeping with his wife and he's like ex wife, and he's
- 4:16like, okay, so when did you start sleeping with her? He says
- 4:18March. Matth is like they were divorced at the time. Robert Goddard,
- 4:23the defendant, pipes in and goes, yes, your honor, we were
- 4:26divorced when he started sleeping there. Okay, how are we gonna get to
- 4:30where we're going? Okay, So now that we got math so that they
- 4:35they they weren't separate separated, Yes, they were, and he goes,
- 4:40Okay, so I met her because I was doing some work I met I
- 4:44met her, Uh a call back to us. It's just fun. He
- 4:49said, I met her because I was doing some work for Robert at his
- 4:54house. Okay, And Judge Mathis goes, so you met his ex wife
- 5:00by doing work at his house. No, he met it through a girlfriend,
- 5:03and he said, uh, yeah, well, yes, I was
- 5:10doing work for Robert at his house, and Robert's like, he was not
- 5:14doing work at my house. He was like, well, I was doing
- 5:15work for my girlfriend at his house. And Mathis says what And he says,
- 5:24so my girlfriend, the defendant's ex wife, was still living with him
- 5:30at the time. At what time, At the time they were divorced.
- 5:34They were divorced. They they were still living, still living together, and
- 5:38she on occasion was slipping over to his house. She asked Robert mutual friend
- 5:44girlfriend of hers, asked him to do some work at the house. He
- 5:46meets her, and then he met her, and then he and then he
- 5:51that's right, they start to have an affair, not an affair. They
- 5:55started to have a relationship, even though she still lives with her ex husband.
- 6:00And Matthews is like, so you're divorced but still live in the same
- 6:03house. Yes, they both confirm this. Defendant confirms divorce, still living
- 6:08together. Larry says, two or three weeks after I started working there,
- 6:12I started seeing her. And Matthis says, so you were doing work.
- 6:16Huh? All right? Matthews crowd lasts, and he says, how often
- 6:20you do that with your customers? And Larry's like, nah, this is
- 6:24the only time, blah blah blah. He makes one more joke, and
- 6:29Larry's like, so like Robert and I still see each other to this day.
- 6:33Like no, no, no, I'm sorry, he says the ex.
- 6:35We never get her name. My girlfriend and I still are together,
- 6:40We still date, we still see each other. We sleep together in that
- 6:45house, he says. We sleep together in that house. His room's next
- 6:50door. We all eat together, we barbecue outside. Whole deal. Okay,
- 6:57what is the point of all of this. His claim is that this
- 7:00is infuriating. Yeah, okay. Mathis says, so, y'all are husband
- 7:05in laws. Crowd goes uh, and then he says, wife, he's
- 7:12got it going on. You go girl. All right, right, he
- 7:15said, let me hear from the defendant. Robert says, listen, but
- 7:18we haven't heard. Look, okay, just don't don't. Don't try to
- 7:21make sense of it. It was a laugh a minute, I can tell
- 7:24you that. Robert says, Listen, my ex met Larry, don't.
- 7:29I don't remember him ever doing work at my house. First of all.
- 7:30Second of all, she met Larry. She was in a group, a
- 7:33rehab program for alcohol addiction, and that started in February and then apparently they
- 7:40met in March. We were divorced, but she was in that program.
- 7:44I don't recall him doing any work at my house. But she had an
- 7:46alcohol abuse issue and she started going to these meetings and that's where she met
- 7:51Larry and and Matthis is like all right. Larry likes so like, why
- 7:57are you suing? And he's like, well, I bailed herd Jay twice
- 8:01the first time. And he gives the number, the two numbers at it,
- 8:03twenty six hundred. But he's your girlfriend. Yeah, okay, right
- 8:07there. No, I bailed her out of jail. I got the paperwork,
- 8:11dude. The rest of this episode, you have to watch. It
- 8:15is like a who's on first bit? From this point forward it is a
- 8:18full rig Delby four for two. Yeah, because so far it's been real
- 8:22straight and clear. I'm just telling you, I was dying laughing. Matthis
- 8:26says, so you bailed her out of jail, you got the paperwork.
- 8:30She says she'd pay you back, and Larry goes, she said her husband
- 8:33would pay and MAT's husband and matthis says, so they were married, And
- 8:41Larry says, as far as I know, yes, they were. What
- 8:50And matthis says, so, as far as you knew, you were sleeping
- 8:54with a woman in her house, eating at her table, all while her
- 8:58husband was there the whole time. And he goes, no, your honor,
- 9:03they were divorced, but as far as you knew, And then Mathis
- 9:11goes full yell. He says, you just told me they were married.
- 9:16Were they married or not? And he says, your honor, to my
- 9:20recollection, they were not. And he says, okay, so you mean
- 9:26to tell me she told her ex husband. She told you her boyfriend that
- 9:33her ex husband would pay you back for the bail money, and you think
- 9:39that was weird. And Larry goes, yeah, that was kind of strange
- 9:41to me. You know, they're sleeping in separate bedrooms, but I guess
- 9:45they were on good terms. And he said, and you're sleeping with her
- 9:50And he said, no, your honor, I wasn't sleeping with her.
- 9:52He goes, I'm looking at this. It says June you started sleeping with
- 9:56her in March. Yes, you were, you were, And Larry goes,
- 10:00well, that's kind of sticky, You're honor, it's weird, and
- 10:03he goes, you know the way he the way he points at Robert again.
- 10:07The way he played it off, it was like they were still married,
- 10:09Like he was crying all the time and telling her to come home.
- 10:15And Mathis is like, so did you stop seeing her? And He's like,
- 10:16yes, for like a month, I stopped seeing her. Mathis is
- 10:20like when he's like in April, matthis is like, but did you think
- 10:24they were together that at the time. So he looks at Robert and at
- 10:30the time that you, that's right, had relationships in that man's house.
- 10:35Did you think they were together? The best he I configure is no,
- 10:39he doesn't, but when it comes to getting his money, he does,
- 10:43all right. So Mathis then said, looks at Robert and goes, did
- 10:46you agree to pay to this? Robert says no. Larry says, why
- 10:50would he? Larry says, I have a document that says he has agreed
- 10:58to pay me, and I can't go any further without letting and I'm leaving
- 11:05out what happens next because it's part of the ruling. Well, this is
- 11:09ridiculous, knowing what you know about Larry. Yeah, so far he has
- 11:16a document that says Robert says he's gonna pay. I'm gonna go out on
- 11:18a limb and say that this document was filled out and signed by his girlfriend
- 11:24saying, hey, my ex husband will pay you, signed by her.
- 11:30That's what I imagine is going to happen here, and he's not gonna get
- 11:31any money. And you know what, my poor guy over there, give
- 11:37him fifty dollars because nobody listen. No one should have to imagine what's going
- 11:46on in the other room between your ex wife and some guy that's doing work.
- 11:52So Larry says, I have a document that says he agrees to pay,
- 12:00and the bailiff comes over and he starts to hand it to the bailiff,
- 12:03and Mathis goes, don't take that document from him. Read it to
- 12:07me. Read to me on that document where it says he will pay you
- 12:13back, Read it to me, and then I'll get the bailiff over there.
- 12:18And he goes, your honor, it's right here. Just take it,
- 12:20and he says, read it to me. Where does it say he
- 12:24will pay you back? And he says, okay, I don't have anything
- 12:26on him. What does that mean? Mathis goes, I didn't think so
- 12:37claim to smith Son, something's wrong with you, judgment for the Countersooth,
- 12:41You're causing me emotional dispress much less this guy. He gives that guy fifteen
- 12:50doesn't ask him a question. Fantastic. What did he have? That's the
- 12:56docum? The document had, it was from his watched the thing afterwards,
- 13:01and he keeps going, Robert and I'm will get my money. You know
- 13:03you owe me money. I'milla get my money. And the guy's like,
- 13:07I don't know what you're talking. Did he did? Larry seem crazy?
- 13:11He was weird. He was very soft spoken, but just weird. Get
- 13:15my money. You gotta watch it. It's it's wild out there. I
- 13:18want to introduce you to Chris Easily, Okay, not from Easily, who
- 13:22is suing for the amount of a couch and Nicole is counter suing for uh,
- 13:31what's it called the amount of a couch? Do we know amount?
- 13:33Okay? And Nicole is countersuing for defamation of character? We don't know that
- 13:37amount. Are we ever going to get to that? We never get to
- 13:41that? No, okay, feel good about it. So Chris was hanging
- 13:45out with Nicole one day. They're friends, and uh, they were watching
- 13:48some tiktoks together, some TikTok videos. I don't know what you say I
- 13:52don't know what's correct. I was watching some tiktoks or I was watching some
- 13:56TikTok videos. I was watching some tiktoks. I think it's just tiktoks videos.
- 14:01Is repetitive the ATM machine. Well, you would say I was watching
- 14:05a YouTube video. You wouldn't say I'm watching some youtubes. Yeah, but
- 14:09TikTok's are their own thing. Like nobody says have you seen my YouTube?
- 14:11They say, have you seen my TikTok? It's my own thing. Um.
- 14:16And he shows her a video that was so funny Dan that she laughed
- 14:22so hard she fell off the couch and that broke the back leg of the
- 14:33couch. Okay. He shows a picture and he's like, look look at
- 14:39this. I got it propped up on a couple of iPhone boxes. Ghetto.
- 14:43Nicole pipes up and says, that was my idea. She's taking credit
- 14:50for the credits for the and Chris says, no, it wasn't. You
- 14:54didn't even know that I had two iPhone boxes. That's the last we hear
- 14:56of that situation. But I didn't think that was important. Chris says,
- 15:01I think my couch has a weight limit. And Nicole exceeded that weight limit.
- 15:07Good creed is she have you said? She's uh, she's plus sized,
- 15:13but like you know, she looks good. Yeah you go, girl,
- 15:18Now let's take that back right now, walk that one back like you
- 15:22go, like you go do whatever you want type thing. You didn't You
- 15:26didn't fully commit. Yeah, I know what I mean. Yeah, And
- 15:30so it was that weird middle ground that no one likes. Yeah, kind
- 15:33of like when, uh, you know, you're not sure if the guy,
- 15:37the woman you're sleeping with it's actually divorced. It's the whole recollection.
- 15:43They were, they were, they were so Chris says, I think my
- 15:48has a weight limit. Judge Jerry says, did you give her any warning
- 15:54that the couch might not be able to hold her? And Chris said,
- 15:56no, I didn't know that it was going to fall like that. And
- 16:00she wasn't even she wasn't sitting on the couch like a normal person. She
- 16:04was sitting on the arm of the couch. She sits around the house.
- 16:07No, I'm sorry, do you it's his couch though, And it is
- 16:12his couch. Okay, this is absurd, so uh, but she was
- 16:18sitting on the arm of the couch. Did he say not to did he
- 16:19invite her? Well, he just says who sits on the arm of the
- 16:22couch? And Nicole says, after I fell, we both laughed, and
- 16:27he says I did laugh until I noticed that the leg was broken, and
- 16:32then I was like, oh, oh, one thousand dollars couchn Coole says
- 16:36that was not no couch and I but Nicole says, after it happened,
- 16:42I said I is there anything I can do? And he said three times,
- 16:47it's okay, friend, it's okay friend, it's okay friend. So
- 16:52these two aren't romantically involved. No, they're not. No, they're not
- 16:55romantically okay, they're just friends. Uh So Uh, anyways, I said
- 17:02I can do it, and she's and he's like, no, it's okay,
- 17:03friend. And he was like, I was trying to be sympathetic when
- 17:07I said that Nicola was homeless at the time, I was trying to be
- 17:11sympathetic. Nicole says, I was not homeless. I lived in a hotel.
- 17:15And Chris says, well, a hotel's not a home. Uh.
- 17:18And Chris says, once she was up and on the up and up,
- 17:22I assumed that she'd be responsible adult and offer to pay or do something responsible
- 17:26adult. Yes, okay, but instead she's over there posting pictures on end
- 17:30stuff her getting drunk because she's an alcoholic. Don't tell no one, uh.
- 17:37Nicole says, no, I'm not tell everyone. Uh. Jerry says,
- 17:41I just want to be clear here. You are suing because she's too
- 17:45big for your couch. But also apparently there's more. What is this about
- 17:49a wax on the rug? And Chris says, yes, wax on the
- 17:53rug. So it was my birthday party. Nicole's over there torking by my
- 17:57son's door and knocked over a candle and wax went everywhere. And Jerry says,
- 18:03how do you know it was her? And he says, I have
- 18:06pictures, and we see the pictures, and the pictures are of wax on
- 18:10the rug, not of her dancing. And Jerry says, how does this
- 18:14prove that was it was her? And Chris says, it proves that it
- 18:18happened, but it was her, And you have my word, and my
- 18:21word is my bond. Well that tells you your words your bond. Fine.
- 18:27Nicole says, I didn't spill the wax. I don't know anything about
- 18:30it and my word is my bond. Ooh double bonds bond, it's a
- 18:34bond. Uh. Nicole is counter seuing for defamation of character. She plays
- 18:41a video that Chris posted on TikTok where he complains about people who don't pay
- 18:47for things that they owe, but never mentions her by name, never mentions
- 18:49her by name. It's time for the verd nothing. It's a hard no
- 18:53one, nothing for no one, no way, no how see ya you're
- 18:56correct, Yeah, nothing for nobody but Chris. On the way out,
- 19:00well, Nicole says, Chris, you're busy and you're mean. We'll never
- 19:06be friends and nick and Chris says Nicole, you're fat, and Nicole says,
- 19:11but I'm beautiful man. And then they just kind of like pose off
- 19:15and they posed situation. So there you go, everybody that that was a
- 19:22gabble, see you coming back next week. Went another to say, by
- 19:26the bell, back to Bayside until then, All rise yo. Gabble Gabbles
