- 0:00Speaker 1: Let's let's let's go over the biggest investing mistake that
- 0:03Speaker 1: people make.
- 0:06Speaker 2: I posted it earlier, but I think the biggest investment
- 0:08Speaker 2: mistake people are making is traded in the stocks you
- 0:10Speaker 2: should be holding for long term. Like I've had people
- 0:14Speaker 2: reach out to me and say, same thing, what's the
- 0:17Speaker 2: next sand disc in video AMD one. We'll talk about later.
- 0:22Speaker 2: The ones that are leading now will lead, but the
- 0:24Speaker 2: issue is you traded them. Like someone told me, Hey,
- 0:28Speaker 2: I had one hundred thousand dollars trade in the video
- 0:31Speaker 2: in twenty three. I doubled my money. But look how
- 0:35Speaker 2: much money you miss on the back end of the
- 0:37Speaker 2: last few years. Lily, same thing saands this year. And
- 0:44Speaker 2: I know I may be a little bit biased towards futures,
- 0:46Speaker 2: but if you look at the history of the biggest
- 0:49Speaker 2: companies we're now looking at, some companies go up two
- 0:54Speaker 2: to three thousand percent on the trade, and I'm probably
- 0:56Speaker 2: going to talk about microwning in a little bit. But
- 0:59Speaker 2: some of these companies, you're gonna go up four to
- 1:00Speaker 2: five thousand percent over a five or six year period,
- 1:02Speaker 2: and you're going to be stuck on the sidelines with
- 1:05Speaker 2: a two hundred percent gain win tax, and you blew
- 1:09Speaker 2: the money on a car or a vacation or somebody
- 1:12Speaker 2: that doesn't love you. Deal something stupid. Stop trading the
- 1:16Speaker 2: stocks that you should be holding for a long period
- 1:18Speaker 2: of time. And once again, the ones that are going
- 1:21Speaker 2: to do incredibly well in the future are doing incredibly well.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Now hold for the long term, and you're blowing the
- 1:28Speaker 2: money online. But it makes no sense to trade an
- 1:32Speaker 2: asset to then spend it on a liability. Crazy as hell.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Yeah, you hear those stories, right, and we've posted it
- 1:41Speaker 3: a few times. If you would have had ten thousand
- 1:44Speaker 3: dollars in twenty and twenty and invested in such and
- 1:48Speaker 3: such company, it would be this amount today. And you're like, oh, well,
- 1:51Speaker 3: I wasn't doing it in twenty twenty. And then if
- 1:53Speaker 3: they scale out to a longer term vision, they say, well,
- 1:56Speaker 3: if I invested in twenty ten, i'd have one point
- 1:59Speaker 3: format and it sounds like that that so out of reach.
- 2:03Speaker 3: But we're living in a time where we just watched
- 2:05Speaker 3: the company IPO in February of twenty twenty five. It
- 2:09Speaker 3: is now up thirty four one hundred percent, yep, Like,
- 2:16Speaker 3: and it wasn't like where did this thing come? From
- 2:19Speaker 3: never heard.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Of it before.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Literally we said it here and that was at one
- 2:23Speaker 3: ninety five. Today was sitting at what twelve eighty nine?
- 2:27Speaker 3: So Santa says jump thirty four hundred percent, And people
- 2:31Speaker 3: have watched week after week like, Okay, there it's going up.
- 2:35Speaker 3: It's going again. I wonder if it'll pull back. He
- 2:37Speaker 3: come up and watched it and missed right, And to me,
- 2:41Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, Well, the next question I'm going to
- 2:44Speaker 3: get is, well, what's the next one? Like thirty four
- 2:48Speaker 3: hundred percent?
- 2:49Speaker 2: Was that a better teacher issue? Or should they have
- 2:51Speaker 2: listened the first time?
- 2:53Speaker 3: That's fear. That's what I'm not trying to be mean,
- 2:55Speaker 3: you know, I'm just saying that's to me that that
- 2:56Speaker 3: speaks to fear. That speaks to fear, and it's that's
- 2:59Speaker 3: something that's very common in our community. To answer the question,
- 3:03Speaker 3: I'll come back to it. But to answer the question
- 3:04Speaker 3: of the biggest mistake that I'm seeing. And I get
- 3:07Speaker 3: this call probably three to four times a day is usual,
- 3:13Speaker 3: what should I do? There's no exit strategy. Well, some
- 3:17Speaker 3: people if they end the calls, they've made money. The
- 3:20Speaker 3: next question is what should I do? Well, what's your
- 3:23Speaker 3: exit strategy. I don't know what should what you tell me, well,
- 3:27Speaker 3: did you try to gain twenty percent? Because if you did,
- 3:29Speaker 3: then you hit that metric. If it was forty percent
- 3:34Speaker 3: when you got there, what did you do? Because some
- 3:37Speaker 3: people say, well, ah, man, if I sell it at
- 3:39Speaker 3: fifty and I watched it, I watched it go to seventy,
- 3:41Speaker 3: I'm gonna be upset. I'm like, well, what what was
- 3:43Speaker 3: the goal when you entered the position? Then you can't
- 3:45Speaker 3: be upset. You set the metric for yourself. Nobody made
- 3:48Speaker 3: it for you. And so the mistake I'm seeing a lot,
- 3:51Speaker 3: especially this year, especially over the past four weeks, it's
- 3:54Speaker 3: having no exit strategy. It's so important, like you got
- 3:57Speaker 3: to know what it is. I think everyone in EYL
- 3:59Speaker 3: you know was my exit strategy. Everyone here should know it.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Like I'm looking for one hundred percent. If I don't
- 4:04Speaker 3: get it, my disappointed a little bit. But once I
- 4:08Speaker 3: get to what do I do? All right, I'm taking
- 4:10Speaker 3: my initial investment out. Unlet's the rest run. Let's do
- 4:12Speaker 3: it every time. There's no question about it.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna be real, some of you are going to
- 4:18Speaker 2: trade your way into poverty. That rotating like you're rotating
- 4:22Speaker 2: out of the best companies on Earth. And the crazy
- 4:25Speaker 2: part is like you're seeing best of both worlds. You're
- 4:27Speaker 2: seeing people get one thousand percent return long term and
- 4:30Speaker 2: you're seeing it being done in trading in four or
- 4:34Speaker 2: five years, especially post economic crash, some of these companies
- 4:39Speaker 2: are gonna be too expensive too, because if s k
- 4:41Speaker 2: Heinez and sand Discus priced where it is, now, where
- 4:45Speaker 2: does Anthropic come in at, What does open Ai come in,
- 4:49Speaker 2: What is SpaceX come in at as a result, and
- 4:54Speaker 2: how far would they fly?
- 4:56Speaker 1: And I think you can do both and it I
- 5:00Speaker 1: think that that's something that people should consider as well.
- 5:02Speaker 1: It's like if you believe in a company, got to
- 5:05Speaker 1: do both trading. To me, how I look at it
- 5:07Speaker 1: trading it gives you leverage, so small amounts can turn
- 5:11Speaker 1: into large amounts. Yes, so, but you need a foundational base.
- 5:18Speaker 1: So if you have Google right, like, you can have
- 5:25Speaker 1: a long term portfolio in Google and then you have
- 5:28Speaker 1: a portion of your total framework that you think you're
- 5:32Speaker 1: comfortable being having having more more risk, and now you
- 5:35Speaker 1: can trade Google as well. I don't I don't think
- 5:38Speaker 1: you should look at it as like one or the
- 5:39Speaker 1: other of like I'm either going to trade it or
- 5:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna invest it. I mean, you can't just invest.
- 5:46Speaker 1: That's fine too, but if you are, you know, a trader,
- 5:50Speaker 1: then it's like, Okay, I'm going to have the positions
- 5:52Speaker 1: that I hold long term, and then I'm going to
- 5:54Speaker 1: have a position that I'm going to feel comfortable trading,
- 5:57Speaker 1: and then a certain amount of money as well, a
- 6:00Speaker 1: money money allocation that you feel comfortable losing because trading
- 6:06Speaker 1: is volatile, or you feel comfortable, you know, having it
- 6:09Speaker 1: go up and then go down like you got it.
- 6:11Speaker 1: You can't not advisable to put every single dollar that
- 6:15Speaker 1: you have into trading because from an emotional standpoint, you're
- 6:19Speaker 1: going to be too emotionally attached to it. So it's
- 6:23Speaker 1: not gambling. I think that's when you kind of go
- 6:26Speaker 1: into the realm of gambling when you have ten thousand
- 6:29Speaker 1: dollars to your name and you put ten thousand dollars
- 6:32Speaker 1: on a one day trade with the hopes that is
- 6:36Speaker 1: going to go up five hundred percent, and usually what
- 6:40Speaker 1: happens when you do that is that you lose everything
- 6:43Speaker 1: because you're not thinking from a rational standpoint. So allocate
- 6:49Speaker 1: how much money you feel comfortable out of your investment
- 6:52Speaker 1: portfolio to trade. If you do want to trade, make
- 6:55Speaker 1: sure you have solid found solid foundational company needs that
- 7:00Speaker 1: you have in your long term hold. And if you
- 7:02Speaker 1: feel really great about a company, then yeah, do both
- 7:05Speaker 1: buy the company long term hold and then take take
- 7:09Speaker 1: some money and trade the company. If you really have
- 7:12Speaker 1: done the research, you feel you feel good about it,
- 7:14Speaker 1: and you feel like this is something that you want
- 7:16Speaker 1: to just kind of have you know that leverage set
- 7:19Speaker 1: to have outstretched the gains, then you would get in
- 7:22Speaker 1: a traditional just buy a whole situation, all facts
