- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Spoilers for lanterns.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: He's fun.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, he's funny sometimes.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Um He'll grow on you a little bit.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: I hope so.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: Because as of right now, I like Ryan Reynolds uh better.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: Not gonna lie.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, which I like that movie anyways.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: I know people hate it, but I like it.

- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Uh I just like Ryan Reynolds.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: And dude, the suit's pretty cool too.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: CGI suit.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Bad suit.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know people hate it.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: Bad suit, bad movie.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: I don't care.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: But uh yeah, I started that.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: It's it's not bad.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: I just watched the first episode.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Um I'm I am interested and I did want to watch more.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Perry didn't start it with me, so I'm not watching it with her, so I have to kind of figure out times to watch it.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Naruto, I haven't watched any of Severance a little bit.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Um other than that, I watched Um Crazy Stupid Love, and I'll get into that later.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: But I've just been super busy.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: Haven't been able to watch much besides college football.
- 2:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: And I'm stoked about that.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: That always gets me hype.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: But what about you?
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, so I watched the newest episode, episode four of Lanterns.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Watch that, um, watched arrival, which we'll get into that later.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: Um other than that, yeah, watch some football.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: That's about it.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Football takes a lot of time.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: Takes all day.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: One day.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Other than that, I've been also been busy, work's been busy, stuff going on, but other than that, I'm like, I haven't been watching a whole lot.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Um excited to get back into some gaming.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: There's some games coming out.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: Uh I've been seeing a bunch of stuff about Blood of the Dawnwalker, which is like a vampire RBG RPG game that I want to play.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: Wolverine games coming out.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: Um there was the gameplay trailer for the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: I'm only got into the Zelda games recently, like on the Switch 1.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: Um, but this is you go on any website, if it's not number one, it's in the top five.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: Ocarina of Time is known as one of the best games of all time.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: It's being remade for like a different console or what?
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Switch two, so it's exclusive to Switch 2.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: They're coming out with a Switch 2 console that matches it.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: And the graphics look it just looks like Is it the same game?
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: The exact same game, but it's just different.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: There's some other stuff with I think in the original one that you would auto-jump across platforms and now you have to press a button, like stuff like that.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: Like oh, I gotcha.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: Like some minor tweaks, but it looks awesome.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna play it.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: If I I mean, really, you don't get I didn't get a switch to because there's no reason to.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: Um you play every get all the games you would play on the Switch, you can play them on the one, and no big deal, but um that is definitely a reason to.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm pretty excited for that.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: Um I also was pretty excited for a movie trailer I saw, Remain, M.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: Night Shaman, starring Jake Jillenhall who's in the show.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: I saw a little bit of that.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: I didn't watch the whole trailer though.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: It's confusing, you have no idea what's going on.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: It's um I think it was a book.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: Oh but I like M.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Not Shaman alright.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: I really like Jake Gyllenhaal.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: So I'm excited for that.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I mean that's about what I'm gonna do.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: Is it supposed to be scary, thriller, or what?
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I mean I'm assuming yes.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't know.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: You don't know the lore.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: Big trailer is scary anyway.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: So yeah, that's what I I mean, really I haven't been watching nothing.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: Anything else I can really think of.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: Not caught up on Big Brother at all.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: Oh, are you not?
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: I mean, I know what happens.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Um I just recently got caught up.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: That there's obviously an episode tonight that My Twitter's full of it, so I know it happens.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: Oh, really?
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: I like what Barrett did.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, bad.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: But yeah, so I haven't been really caught up on it.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: It's about time someone made that move.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: Other than that, not much.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: Just been chillin'.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: Super busy nowadays.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: We keep grinding though.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: Keep grinding.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: So, um we should do top ten or the fun segment first.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: We usually do top ten first.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: So we're not gonna have a top ten this week.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Um, like I said at the beginning, we do the top tens to like get to know us, like get to know our tastes and things, um, and then revisit it like any year to see if anything changes with new movies and games and stuff that come out, see if anything gets added.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: We will though, I think, starting next week, do not top tens.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: So you'll get to know the opposite of what we dislike a lot.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: Um, and I think there will be some things our top tens have been pretty similar.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: There's been a lot of differences, but nothing that we disagree on too much.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: I have a feeling with the not top tens, it might get a little bit more contentious with things we disagree on, which will be fun.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: But so this for this week, um, it's gonna be a shorter episode anyway, but there's some movies coming out soon that I'll want to watch and talk about, but nothing as of right now.
- 5:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: And then we're not gonna have a top ten this week.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: But Brandon does have a fun segment prepared for us.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Before we get into that, if there is a topic um that you want to hear our top ten for, uh let us know and we'll we can do that.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: Um just as of right now, we're gonna start doing the not top ten, so you ready for the fun segment?
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: Okay, so fun segment today is blind ranking.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: You've heard of blind ranking before.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: We're gonna do one through ten.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: One through ten.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: One through ten, blind ranking.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: And we're going to there's two parts.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: First one is gonna be TV show seasons.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: Just how much I like them or just the best ones.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: And then you'll get to hear the second one uh after this one.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: Here we go.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: This is interesting.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: And you gotta think that they might not all be like there might not be any.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: You might like them all.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: You may or you may hate them all.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Are you ready?
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: For the first one.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Outer Bank season one.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: Out of where do you put it out of ten?
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: Nine.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Outer Bank season one, you're putting it nine.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: How can that be?
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: It's not in my top ten show.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: I don't think it was an honorable mention for me.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: And it was good, and I really like it.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: Season one?
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: And it got me into it, but there's I can think of ten better seas uh seasons of television than that.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Where would you put it?
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: Uh I mean it would be top three, probably.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: Or I mean, depends.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: It's a blind ranking, so I don't know.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm putting it at nine.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Stuff.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: I wanted to put it at ten, but I'm holding.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: That's crazy.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: Uh, next is the haunting of hellhouse.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I knew this was gonna be three.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: Three, okay.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: That's crazy.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: The Haunting Hellhouse is good.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: I thought you were gonna go way higher on Outer Banks, and then you were gonna kinda fill it up, but no, you straight to nine.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: You really don't like Outer Banks.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: I do like it.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: It's not my top ten seasons of TV ever.
- 8:03SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Okay, Stranger Things Season 3.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: Which is the mall season?
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: I would say I like season one better.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: And but I really like the scene where they're singing the never-ending story song.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: It's my probably my favorite probably my second favorite scene in that show.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: I think season three is just like it's it's so fun.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: And I like that.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: Max is probably, if not my favorite, one of my favorite characters, and she's a really important in the second season too, but in this season, real.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: I like Billy in it.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: Um, let's go with six.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: Six, okay.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: I like it.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Top, bottom, and middle, kind of.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: I like it, I like it.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: We have the boys season one.
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: Started that whole thing.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: That was good.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: I don't know what else we're gonna put in here though.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: Because I can still think of a bunch I like.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: Five.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: Is the boys season one the best season of the voice for you?
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, probably.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: Maybe.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: I can't really I mean it sticks with me the most because it's what got me hooked on it.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: So I think so, yeah.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: I think I watched them.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: I think I watched like season one, two of them.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: I've watched them so long back to back to back.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: I've watched them so long.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: It was so long when they were coming out.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: Let's go with five.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: Uh let's go Smallville.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: Season one.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: Meteor Freak.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: And all that's going on.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: But it's Smallville.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with eight.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: Eight?
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: I definitely like it better than Out of Bank season one, but eight! I have gotten so far removed from Smallville?
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: Well, Smallville, but also the Freak of the Week style of television.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: Like it's like the 20 episodes per season, you don't like that?
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: I like the 20 episodes 20 episodes per season.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: I don't I've started to not like the every episode as a different, like, little solo villain story.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: Especially when they Especially in season one when it's not it doesn't until the end, it doesn't tie into the whole thing.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it doesn't really further the plot any.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: It's just kind of there.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: I get that.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: I think I'm a little biased on that one.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: Um now we have She-Hulk, attorney at law.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: I don't mind She-Hulk that much.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: Like you don't mind it as in it's decent, or you just don't mind it like you don't like it?
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: No, I don't mind it like it's decent.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: Like I might would change outer banks to ten and put it at nine.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: Woo! But I'm gonna put what do I have?
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: I've s I've seven.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: Seven.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: There's no way in this world you like Outer Banks less than you like She-Hulk Attorney at Law.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: There's no way.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Marvel is more about I don't know.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: We'll go, it's gonna go ten either way.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: I was about to say, there ain't no way.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: You almost put Outer Bank Season 1, like the peak of that show, behind, or you would have put it behind She-Hulk Attorney at Law.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Probably.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: What do you like about She-Hawk Attorney at Law?
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: Well, it's Marvel.
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: I like She-Hawk, and I think some of it's pretty funny.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: I like Daredevil, but it's not like it was really hit or miss for me.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: I just am not a big of a fan of Outer Banks.
- 11:23SPEAKER_01: And if I've re-watched them both, I'd probably like it more.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: That's crazy.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: Like what more?
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: Outer Banks more.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Have you only seen it once?
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the first season I've only seen once.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: Oh, I've seen it a couple times.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: But She-Hawk's trying to- like I remember wa when I watched it, I knew that everybody didn't like it because I was going through watching all the Marvel shows.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: It's far from the best Marvel show.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: Well.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: Far from his stretch, but it's not one of it's not in my top three Marvel shows.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: Me neither.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, for sure not.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: But I yeah, I remember not being like, this isn't terrible.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: But definitely.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: Outer Ranks is so good.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: Um we have Squid Game, Season 1.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: Uh oh gosh.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: Now I regret where I put Haunting a Hill House.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: Squid Game Season 1.
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: What else is on this list?
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: That's what I have.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: I have one, two, four.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm actually very surprised that you kind of remember that.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: One, two, four, and seven.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: You have one, two, four, and seven.
- 12:27SPEAKER_01: Oh, gosh.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: I like hunting hill house more, so I have to put it at four.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: I would move them both up one spot if I could.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay, okay.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Okay, you're good.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: We have Riverdale Season 1.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: Gosh, dude.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: That should be 10.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: That should be 10.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: You didn't like Riverdale Season 1?
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: I do, but it's not as good as the rest of these.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Bro, you're crazy.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: 7.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: Seven?
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: I think that's a good spot for Riverdale Season 1.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: Dude, Riverdale Season 1 was pretty good.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: I mean, I remember liking Riverdale.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: I think, I mean, it gets tarnished by the rest of the show, but.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: Dang, I like Riverdale Season 1.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: I think so far, I mean, okay.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: Here we go.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: So what do you have left?
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: One, two.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: One and two.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: That's tough.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: Severance season one.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: What are you gonna do the next one?
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go one.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: It's my favorite show of all time, so.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Severance is your favorite show of all time.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: My number one on my top.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: No, it's my number two on my top ten.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: That's crazy.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: So if you And you that was after you f you finished both seasons.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: Number one was One Piece.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: And technically they just finished season one after like 11,000, 1100 episodes.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: Huh?
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: It was all considered season one.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: One piece?
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: So w at where they're at right now was just season one.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: Now it's Oh, okay, okay.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: But it was.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: They took a break and then they came back.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: It was the first break they took.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: Okay, so for your two slot.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: I have Game of Thrones, season eight.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Oh, well, yeah.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: The last season.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:03SPEAKER_01: That's not good.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: I should have known you were gonna come with something like that.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: Is that your least favorite season of the Game of Thrones?
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: By far.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: It's not it's not as bad.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't know.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: The thing about season eight is so I watched Game of Thrones after it was all out already.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: So everyone talks about how bad that last season is.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: And even though everyone tell says it's the worst last season of television, you are not prepared for how bad.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: Really the last three episodes are.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: It's that bad.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: It's only six episodes long, and the first three are not that bad, other than one of the biggest fights, like this big war between like the Nightwalkers and the or the White Walkers?
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: No, what is it?
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: I can't think.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: The White Walkers.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: Whitewalkers.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: That sounds alright.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: And everyone else.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: And like in the battle in the north and stuff, and then it's all like almost pitch black and you can't hardly see what's going on.
- 14:53SPEAKER_01: So that was I think that was an episode three of that season.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: Um But still that was kind of like kind of cool and I liked what was going on with it.
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: And then the last three episodes are like made me sick to my stomach.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: There were some characters that like the best character development you've ever seen through a seven season TV show.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: Just completely changed.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: Turned at 180 right at the end.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: That's insane.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: And it was just it was mmm bad.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: So like I was hoping you were gonna say like Game of Thrones season four, which is probably my favorite, and I'd have been like, that probably one.
- 15:32SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Um but there's a bunch of them on there, like it's kind of crazy.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: I need to finish True Detective season one, because I still haven't finished it, but I've heard that's one of the best seasons of television ever.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: It's just yeah, season eight's bad.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: It would be ten, probably.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: I feel like I loaded you up at least like all of these I really like.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: But I feel like I loaded you up for top, you know, five or whatever.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: And you just left it.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: One, two, you left blank, and then it still got down.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so if I was to change it, let's see if I can remember everything you said.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: If I was to change it, I would go Haunting Hill House 1.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: Severance 2.
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: You what?
- 16:11SPEAKER_01: You literally said Severance was your second favorite show.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: And Haunting Hill House was on there too, but Severance, the first two seasons and everything that's going on with it, I really like, but like Haunting Hill House just by itself, that one season was awesome.
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: So I'd go that one, Severance 2.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: Um, what does it say?
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: Squid Games is probably three.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: And then what else do we have on there?
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: Your five is the boys season one.
- 16:35SPEAKER_01: Well, the boys season one would be next.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Then probably Smallville.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: Oh, we're Stranger Things?
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, Stranger Things, season three, then Smallville.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: Or and She-Hulk Attorney at Law's at nine, Outer Banks at ten, truly.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: Well then, yeah, so then Smallville, then She-Hawk, Outer Banks, uh Riverdale.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: Game of Thrones.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: Riverdale, you have at seven.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: So you think Riverdale at seven?
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: No, Riverdale will be nine, and then Game of Thrones will be last.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: Oh, so you had you had She-Hawk, Smallville.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: No, Smallville, She-Hawk, Outer Banks, Riverdale.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: I don't know though.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: Game of Thrones is such a good show that I still like the character.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: Not the last season.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: By itself.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: That's why I'm saying just that by itself.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: I bet it'd be pretty cool if you didn't watch any of it any other stuff and you just watched.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: You think?
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: You would have thought the person that was supposed to be the good guy the whole time was just the bad guy.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but it's still the season.
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: You still have all that stuff before, but you just it's that season.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: Then Jon Snow gets sent back to the wall and you can just restart.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: It's yeah, Donald started on season eight.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: So they they ended it, they ended it before the like books ended, right?
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: And that's why it got screwed so screwed up.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: What season maybe season four or five, maybe it's even season three.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: Spoilers for Game of Thrones, if you haven't seen it.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: Jon Snow dies, and that's where the books ended.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: Oh, then he comes back.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: And then he comes back.
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: But the books ended there, and that's like halfway through the show.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: And so they still carry on doing some good stuff.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: But they I think they just needed to end it.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: Like it was something like they just had to finish it.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: But the books are kind of like rushed it.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: He wasn't like done writing the books, which he might be done now, because he still hasn't come out with the next one after all these years, but um like they were still gonna go, and he worked with them for a while, which is why it was still good, and then they kind of strayed away from his ideas and the way they I don't know.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: Oh well, I didn't watch it.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: Bran, Brian the Broken.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Actually, I've seen so much lore about it, but I just never been in I don't know.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: I couldn't get into it.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: I watched like maybe an episode and just couldn't do anymore.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: But okay, so before we get into the next round, uh I think the next one's more fun than that one was.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: Um, that one sucked.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: But, okay, so the final ranking.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: At one, you have Severn season one, at two, you have Game of Thrones season eight.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: At three, you have Haunting of Hill House.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: At four, you have Squid Game Season 1.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: At five, you have The Boys Season 1.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: At six, you have Stranger Things Season 3.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: At 7, you have Riverdale Season 1.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: At 8, you have Smallville Season 1.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: 9, you have Outer Bank season 1.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: At 10, you have She-Hulk Attorney at law.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: And I hate to do this after that abysmal list.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: Because people are gonna see that, and then they're gonna see this, which is me saying, because we forgot to do this at the top, shout out to Susanna for the shirts.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: I was speaking to that uh at the beginning or then.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say at the beginning, and then I forgot, and then I just started thinking about it when I looked, when I had my head drooping because of my back.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: This is merch.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: Great Scott, a Brothers Review podcast.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: So let us know if you want some.
- 19:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: But we're rocking them.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: But yeah.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: I hate to promo that right after that bad list, but maybe that bad list will get clipped, and then we'll have that promo at the end.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: But yes, thank you.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: We love them.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: Yep, thank you so much.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: Okay, so for the second round, we have Blind Ranking Super Powers.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: Are you ready?
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: I got number one.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: There can be some bad ones in here.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: There could be from the boys universe for sure.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: There could be some bad ones.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: You can fly, but only three feet above the ground.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: It's like a hover.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: So you can hover around, but you can't.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: I mean.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: Can't necessarily fly, I guess, but you can fly.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: How cool would that be?
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Come on now.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: How fast can I go?
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: I was thinking that same thing.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: Um, I think you can you can move.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: Like I can fly.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: I can move on.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: Well, you ain't indestructible.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: You can move like someone's flying, yeah, but you're not indestructible, so you gotta you gotta be agile.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: Three feet above the ground?
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: Three feet.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: You're this tell.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: Off the ground.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: That's your feet.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: If you wanted to go horizontally, you gotta three feet above.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go three and just play in the NBA.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: I was yeah, something like that.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: I'd make so much money.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: You'd be yeah.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: But you'd still get injured, man.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: Flying that fast, you gotta be careful.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: But three.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: You wouldn't have to fly that fast, I'd just stand by the basket.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: I like three.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: I like three.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: Simple one.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: You have the ability to talk to ants.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: You can just communicate with them.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: That don't mean they gotta be your friends or nothing.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: You can just talk to them.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: There's an ant problem going on in Charleston right now, because everything's so dry and they're looking for water and they're getting in on all the leaves.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Tell them to leave.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: Probably say some mean things to them.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: Do you think they would beef with you if you started talking to them?
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: They might rise against me.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: That's what I'm saying.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: But I can't shrink or nothing.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: I'm not ant man.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: I can only talk to ants.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: You can just talk to them.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and But you could also be cool with them, like really chilling and do what you would want.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm gonna go eight.
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: Eight?
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: I thought that one was good.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: No, that one's kinda sucks.
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: Other than the practical use I just talked about.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Not being able to be small and run around and stuff.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: So it's super speed, but it's capped at 45 miles per hour.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: Two.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: Two.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: Playing on the NFL.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: I like that one, yeah?
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: That one, I think that one's pretty good.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: Next.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: Teleport.
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: That's pretty fast still.
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, that's really fast.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: Save on gas?
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: Play in the NFL.
- 22:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you can get anywhere.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: Being an Olympic sprinter.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: Being an Olympic sprinter.
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, you could definitely win some money for sure.
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: Hustle people, like at a bar, like say I'm faster than you and it would just be cool to run that fast.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: But it ain't really.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: I always think about the problem with having superpowers in the real world, especially ones that are capped, like that.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: How fast before you're just taken by the government and studied for the rest of your life.
- 22:57SPEAKER_02: That's true.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, especially forty five miles per hour because they can catch you.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: Like you're not getting in the way.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: You put it at two?
- 23:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:05SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: But if just because it's capped doesn't mean I have to go that fast the whole time.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: No.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: I could like if I was playing sports, I would just be fast enough to get past everybody.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:14unknown: Sure.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: And then it takes get it to go down sometimes.
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: Let somebody catch me every once in a while.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: You don't have to.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: But that would ruin sports for everybody if I was just scoring touching.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: It don't matter.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I guess.
- 23:24SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: Next.
- 23:26SPEAKER_00: Teleport anywhere within 100 feet.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: But you have chronic diarrhea every time you teleport.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: So like for ten minutes straight.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I just have to teleport to bathrooms.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: Ten.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: At ten?
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: Dude, you can you imagine you tell teleport?
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: I mean just you just gotta deal with the chronic maybe not ten minutes.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: Maybe like you just got it, you know, for a second there, and then like it's in your pants, but you're still teleporting somewhere.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's bad though, dude.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: I mean I don't have to teleport every time, but like teleport when it's necessary.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: Wear a diaper, yeah.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: Okay, but you put it at 10.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: We'll go nine.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: You can't teleport no more.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: Nine.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: Are you for real?
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: I talked you into that.
- 24:13SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: What do I have left?
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: What do you mean?
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: One, four, five, ten?
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: You got one, four, you got one, four, five, six, seven, and ten.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: Gosh, hurry up.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: You have super strength where you're three feet tall.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: Ooh.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: Like, uh.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: And super strength.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: Jack Setch got his character and dispatch.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: But I'm talking super strength as in cap cap strength.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: Captain America's strength.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: Not like super.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: Super soldier serum, but it makes me three feet tall.
- 24:46SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: Still, dude, that's a demon running back still, yeah.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: And an elite power.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: You just think about football.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: You didn't even think about saving nobody.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: Elite power lifter.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: Bro, you ain't even.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: With great power comes great responsibility.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: These are mediocre powers.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: Mediocre power.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: You can save people with teleporting around.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, who's gonna get on my back and teleport with me if I poop in my pants?
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: It don't matter.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: You grab them like this and you teleport off.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: But then that's double teleportation now, double pooping my pants.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but you gotta poop in your pants, you might as well just do it again.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: Five.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: Five for the super strength?
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 25:24unknown: Okay.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: I reckon.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: Okay, you have night vision, but you're blind during the day.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: Ooh, yeah.
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: Ten.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: Ten?
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: You should be an I know.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: Just sleep during the day.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: Safe people at night.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but you'd be literally be Batman.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: Batman and Charleston.
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: You'd be Batman during the night and Daredevil during the day.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: Ten.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: You have your own siren song, but you can only attract men.
- 26:01SPEAKER_01: So I just like gotta go to Hollywood and get with an earshot of like Ryan Gossing or something.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: You wanted to.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: What do I want?
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: Uh you got one.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: You got you got one, you got four, you got six, seven.
- 26:23SPEAKER_01: Um, four.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: I kind of like that one.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: That's pretty good.
- 26:27SPEAKER_01: I'm glad you like that one.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: I can control I can still control people.
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: Make bad guys stop.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: You know?
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: Bad men, yeah?
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: Turn into any animal you choose.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: One half a bunny cloud.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: Turn into any animal you choose, but you're stuck as that animal for one month.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: One month?
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: You got beast boy powers, but you're stuck for a month.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: So if you want to fly, you can be an eagle, but you seven.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: Seven?
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: I mean, you don't have to change to that all the time.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: But that'd be scary, dude.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: No?
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: That'd be big all.
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but living in the ocean still, yeah.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: Like just as you're like as of what you know and stuff, that'd be weird.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: But then I could find out everything.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: And be big dog.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: Seven.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: Research would be crazy.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: Research would be so crazy.
- 27:20SPEAKER_01: All the scientific discoveries I could find.
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: Great responsibilities?
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: Or whatever?
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: That's true, yeah.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: You put it at seven?
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: You can summon mythical creatures, but once the task is done that you summon them for, they're free to do whatever they want.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: Like you can summon a dragon.
- 27:40SPEAKER_00: And after it does what you want it to fly you around, it's just out.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: And it's just do whatever it wants.
- 27:46SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 27:46SPEAKER_01: So I'll I'm gonna put that at one.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: And I'm gonna summon a dragon to protect my family lineage.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 27:53SPEAKER_01: Or something.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: So you just have a dragon protecting you.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: Protecting my family lineage, my family for the rest of the time.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I get it.
- 28:01SPEAKER_01: I get it.
- 28:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: But then like someone tries to mess with you, then they just get killed.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it don't have to be a dragon.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: It can be something.
- 28:09SPEAKER_01: And I can still tell it not to like just brutally murder people, but it don't even have to really do anything.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: Just sit in the front yard of my family lineage for the rest of no one's gonna mess with me if there's a dragon in my front yard.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: That'd be cool.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: You can have two dragons.
- 28:23SPEAKER_01: I can have two?
- 28:24SPEAKER_01: And a yes.
- 28:25SPEAKER_01: You can summon mythical creatures, bro.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: Just as many as I want.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: And if they got the same task, I mean, yeah.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm gonna do one.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: You can have like a whole thing.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: And that's what I'm doing.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna do something like that.
- 28:33SPEAKER_00: That's a good way to do it.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: I didn't even think about that.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: You can read anyone's mind, but you have dementia.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: I already used 10, huh?
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: Yes, you did.
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: I'm too much of an overthinker.
- 28:48SPEAKER_01: If I knew what people thought.
- 28:50SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: Reading somebody's mind would already go at ten, huh?
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: It would yeah, probably.
- 28:54SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 28:55SPEAKER_01: Just on these base powers, but what's my lowest one?
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: Um six, yes.
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, six.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: For the final rankings.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: Summoning mythical creatures at one.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: Super speed, capped at 45 miles per hour at two.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: Fly, only three feet off the ground, is at three.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: Uh, you have your own siren song that only works on men, is at four.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: Super strength, three feet tall, is five.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: Uh reading anybody's mind with dementia is at six.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: Um turn into any animal you choose, but you're stuck as it for a month.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: Is that seven?
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: And talk to ants is at eight.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: Teleport anywhere within a hundred feet, but you have chronic diarrhea is at nine.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: And night vision, but you're blind during the day at ten.
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: So I would go the mind reading thing at ten if I could change it.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 29:47SPEAKER_01: Mine reading thing at ten.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: Teleport at six, probably, huh?
- 29:50SPEAKER_01: Come on now.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: The poop in your pants is not that bad.
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: Happens to the best of it.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: Um I can't even teleport.
- 30:00SPEAKER_01: Tall the animal thing probably at nine.
- 30:05SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, no.
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: Cause I like my Megalodon idea.
- 30:09SPEAKER_01: In the research?
- 30:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, talking to ants.
- 30:11SPEAKER_01: You have night vision at ten right now.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, night vision at ten.
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: Or at nine?
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: At nine.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: And so I can't see in the day.
- 30:18SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 30:19SPEAKER_01: And then ants at eight.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you got it there.
- 30:22SPEAKER_01: Teleportation at seven.
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: No, animal thing at seven.
- 30:25SPEAKER_01: Teleportation at six.
- 30:27SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 30:28SPEAKER_01: And then super strength three feet tall is your five.
- 30:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, super strength three feet tall.
- 30:34SPEAKER_01: It's probably gonna go to four.
- 30:36unknown: Okay.
- 30:36SPEAKER_01: What's in my four?
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: Sirensong.
- 30:38SPEAKER_01: Sirensong at five, super strength at four.
- 30:40SPEAKER_01: My top three are the same.
- 30:41SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 30:42SPEAKER_00: Top three mythical creatures is one, two, super speed.
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 30:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:46SPEAKER_00: Now I do like how you kinda came up with a good reason to have your one.
- 30:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:52SPEAKER_00: Mythical creature.
- 30:53SPEAKER_00: And my two and three.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: I was thinking just short-term tasks, then they would just come after you, but.
- 30:58unknown: Yeah.
- 30:59SPEAKER_00: Two and three.
- 30:59SPEAKER_00: I think two and three are solid.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: Those are, I mean four is just no real um problem with either one of those.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: Super strength, yeah.
- 31:07SPEAKER_00: Three feet tall, it's fine.
- 31:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: Not too bad.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, not too shabby.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: I think it'd be good.
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think those are fun on that one.
- 31:12SPEAKER_00: I think those are good.
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: I don't like your keep your rankings, but the other one's decent.
- 31:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: Um, so no big movie to review.
- 31:23SPEAKER_01: I will say, forgot to add this.
- 31:25SPEAKER_01: I did, I am all caught up on Dunyan Carler Carl.
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: What?
- 31:29SPEAKER_01: Peak.
- 31:29SPEAKER_01: How many eight books?
- 31:31SPEAKER_01: Eight books.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: I'm not all caught.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: I'm on four.
- 31:34SPEAKER_01: Peak.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: I haven't listened to it at all.
- 31:36SPEAKER_01: So.
- 31:37SPEAKER_01: You need to.
- 31:39SPEAKER_01: Maybe one day.
- 31:39SPEAKER_01: Especially because the next book is my favorite that you're about to read.
- 31:43SPEAKER_01: Five, yeah, no.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: Uh probably.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 31:46SPEAKER_01: Seven is also really good.
- 31:48SPEAKER_01: And eight is probably not.
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: I need to finish.
- 31:53SPEAKER_01: Six or eight are probably my favorite books that aren't about the three every three floors or whatever.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: But I just go in spills.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: Like I I listen to it for a little bit, a few weeks, and then I stop and then I.
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: The amount of yeah, where I'm at.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: So you just finished the 11th floor.
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: Where I'm at.
- 32:08SPEAKER_01: Go only at 12th, which is like the ascendancy games with the gods and stuff, but there's nobody's even made it past the what, 13th or something like that?
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: Something like that, yeah, 13th.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: But it's pretty crazy.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: Well, don't spoil it for me.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: It's peak.
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: You need to listen.
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: I will be listening to it.
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: You just gotta give me time.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: Alright, so.
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: Did you ever finish Outer Banks?
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: Nope.
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: Okay, you haven't finished Outer Banks?
- 32:28SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: Have you watched any of it?
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: No.
- 32:31SPEAKER_00: That's fine.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: I gave him a ranking on that.
- 32:34SPEAKER_00: Last episode.
- 32:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, last week.
- 32:35SPEAKER_01: Tune into that.
- 32:36SPEAKER_01: His review on that.
- 32:37SPEAKER_01: Speaking of reviews, we're gonna get right into the watch list review, and I proposed something.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you looked at the letterbox rankings.
- 32:45SPEAKER_00: You proposed we watch something together?
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: I was thinking the same thing.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: I wasn't, I didn't know what movie, but I just figured we're gonna have to start doing that.
- 32:52SPEAKER_00: The thing.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: I'm down to watch that.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: I've been wanting to watch it.
- 32:55SPEAKER_00: I knew we'd have to like together.
- 32:57SPEAKER_01: The thing is uh Is it old though?
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: It's old.
- 33:00SPEAKER_01: But it's one of those classics, especially in the horror genre, the monster genre that everybody loves.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: It's old.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: Monster?
- 33:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:08SPEAKER_01: The thing.
- 33:09SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: I'm down.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: Is it a is it a movie I can watch with Perry?
- 33:14SPEAKER_01: I'm sure.
- 33:15SPEAKER_01: I've seen some pretty gruesome stuff from it, but not some old gruesome stuff.
- 33:20SPEAKER_01: I'll leave that up to her.
- 33:21SPEAKER_01: But I'm down, yeah.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: We need so next week we're gonna review the thing on our watch list review.
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: Um, but for this week, Brandon had Crazy Stupid Love.
- 33:29SPEAKER_01: Crazy Stupid Love.
- 33:30SPEAKER_01: He wanted a break from the hard-hitting ones.
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the thrillers.
- 33:35SPEAKER_01: I wanted a break from people's children dying, but he decided to still give me one of those.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 33:44SPEAKER_00: Bro, they're all on your watch list.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: I don't know what to tell you.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: That's why I ain't watched them yet, dude.
- 33:47SPEAKER_00: And I don't think about it.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: I just think about the movie as a whole.
- 33:51SPEAKER_01: I'm reviewing Arrival.
- 33:53SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 33:53SPEAKER_01: Um, you want to get started or you want me?
- 33:55SPEAKER_01: Um interesting things to say, but I wanna I'm in the case.
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'll just I'll just go over Crazy Stupid Love real quick.
- 34:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:02SPEAKER_00: Um my ranking for Crazy Stupid Love.
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: 88.
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: Out of a hundred.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: I will say.
- 34:10SPEAKER_00: I'm pretty sure I've seen this movie before.
- 34:12SPEAKER_00: I've seen most of it on TikTok before I watched it.
- 34:14SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm saying.
- 34:15SPEAKER_00: Like the whole time I was like, I've either seen clips of this, like uh like 1820 clips.
- 34:20SPEAKER_01: Like the twist or whatever the reveal.
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: Okay, so when it happened, I was like, I've seen that before.
- 34:24SPEAKER_00: But uh up until the moment, I I didn't realize I knew when they were throwing he was planning that whole thing that it was fixing a hat, like everybody was gonna show up.
- 34:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I forgot that Hannah or Nana was with Ryan Gossing's character.
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: So that was really cool.
- 34:41SPEAKER_00: But I was like, David, I remember that.
- 34:43SPEAKER_00: And I remembered so much.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: I remembered the whole thing with the um babysitter.
- 34:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:49SPEAKER_00: Like the kid and the babysitter, and then the picture thing.
- 34:52SPEAKER_00: So I remembered all that.
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: Uh like I don't know if I don't know if I've seen it or if I've just seen clips.
- 34:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:58SPEAKER_00: I've got to see it.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: I've got a bunch of clips of it that made me watch it.
- 35:01SPEAKER_00: And like the Nana and or Hannah and Ryan Gosling when they're at the house.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: I've seen that.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: Both watched a movie with the kid of the main character's name, Hannah.
- 35:12SPEAKER_01: Oh, really?
- 35:13SPEAKER_01: Hannah's the name of the kid in the rival.
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: I didn't know that.
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: I have an interesting thing to say about that too.
- 35:18SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 35:19SPEAKER_01: We'll get into it.
- 35:20SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, I really liked it.
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: Uh, dude, Steve Carrell, literally the whole like first 20 minutes, I was like, that's Michael Scott.
- 35:27SPEAKER_00: Like, he acts just like him.
- 35:29SPEAKER_00: But as the movie progressed, I was like, okay, yeah, he's he's different.
- 35:33SPEAKER_00: He just sounds so similar and he even acted similar.
- 35:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:36SPEAKER_00: Um, but he was really good.
- 35:37SPEAKER_00: I really liked him.
- 35:38SPEAKER_00: But dude, Ryan Gosling just keeps going up for me.
- 35:41SPEAKER_00: We go.
- 35:41SPEAKER_00: He's so good.
- 35:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he is good.
- 35:43SPEAKER_00: And him and Emma Stone were just so I mean, they were good, but dude, his whole relationship with uh Steve Curl's character, I loved it.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: I absolutely loved it.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: And I figured you like that one.
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was good.
- 35:55SPEAKER_00: Uh so spoilers for Crazy Stupid Love.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: Uh, this middle-aged man, uh he what is he, 50?
- 36:04SPEAKER_00: 40?
- 36:05SPEAKER_00: He's pushing more than middle-aged.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: Well, they say I think they say well his wife says midlife crisis.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: Um he's getting his wife wants to get a divorce because he kind of just kind of gives up on love and doesn't really want to uh try anymore.
- 36:17SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 36:18SPEAKER_00: But so they think about getting divorced.
- 36:20SPEAKER_00: She tells him he she actually cheated on him, so he's like really distraught about it.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: He keeps going to this bar, he'd been going to this bar for like weeks.
- 36:29SPEAKER_00: And Ryan Gosling, this the hot hot bar guy is what they call him.
- 36:32SPEAKER_00: He gets all the girls, he decides he's gonna take Michael Scott, not Michael Scott, Steve Curl's character under his wing.
- 36:39SPEAKER_00: What's his name?
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: I can't remember his actual name.
- 36:42SPEAKER_00: Uh the character's name.
- 36:43SPEAKER_00: You can keep calling him Michael Scott if you want.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: Just Michael Scott, yeah.
- 36:45SPEAKER_00: Uh Steve Curl's character under his wing, trains him, basically like uh gets new wardrobe and tells him how he needs to interact with people to pick up girls, and so ends up working, and uh he meets these girls, but he still loves his wife and wants to get back with her, but she's having this thing with the dude that she cheated on him with, so it's this whole crazy thing.
- 37:06SPEAKER_00: Uh he meets this girl, the first girl he gets to take home from the bar, and he takes her home and she's like crazy.
- 37:12SPEAKER_00: You know, like it's so like what's going on?
- 37:15SPEAKER_00: Um, they have this moment, whatever, and then you don't see her anymore after that after that night.
- 37:22SPEAKER_00: Later on, the m mom and him, they see each other at a parent teacher conference, they're talking, and you're like, man, they still really love each other.
- 37:31SPEAKER_00: They I mean, Steve Curl's character, I mean, he obviously is missing her, and then all of a sudden they go to talk to the teacher, and it's that girl he met up with.
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, that was so funny.
- 37:43SPEAKER_00: It was like perfect because they they hit they mentioned that she was a teacher when they met.
- 37:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 37:47SPEAKER_00: And but I didn't put it together, and so they met, and then she gave him crap for it, and so that kind of blew up, but that was super funny.
- 37:57SPEAKER_00: And then uh basically, I mean, he just he wants to get back together with her, and he wants to kind of prove that he can be more loving and stuff, and so I guess that's the whole crazy stupid love.
- 38:11SPEAKER_00: I mean, love is so crazy, and especially with like the babysitter loving him and his son loving her.
- 38:19SPEAKER_00: It's like it's crazy.
- 38:20SPEAKER_01: And uh one of my favorite things is the family man gets turned into the player, yep, and then the player meets Emma Stone's character becomes the he falls in love and stops going to the bar and stops doing all that, yeah.
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so Ryan Gossman's character, he like you said, meets this girl and changes his whole mindset.
- 38:42SPEAKER_00: Like, all he does is he takes him home to sleep with them, but this time she like she just wants to talk, and they just hang out, and they have this night where they just hang out and talk to each other and have fun, and then after that he like really likes this girl, and he's like, Well, this is he doesn't really know what to do.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: Um, he's in this weird situation he's never been in before.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: He loves this girl and wants to be with her.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: He tells uh Steve Carell's character, he's like, How about this girl dude?
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: Like, that's why I haven't been replying to you.
- 39:08SPEAKER_00: I don't like I don't know what to do.
- 39:10SPEAKER_00: Um and Steve Carell's like, man, he's like, You got it, whatever, blah, blah, blah.
- 39:15SPEAKER_00: Kind of like giving him some advice, like uh Gossing's character would do for him.
- 39:20SPEAKER_00: And then you find out Steve Carell's character, he's going and he's planning this thing for his wife.
- 39:27SPEAKER_00: I guess they're they're still married.
- 39:28SPEAKER_00: They're still married, yeah.
- 39:29SPEAKER_00: They just haven't been uh got divorced yet, to kind of show that he still loves her and stuff.
- 39:35SPEAKER_00: And so he's planning this whole thing with his kids, it's like a little putt-putt thing, it's really cool.
- 39:39SPEAKER_00: And uh he's on the phone with Ryan Gosling's character, and he's like, Yeah, we're going, I'm gonna actually meet her parents tonight, blah, blah, blah, we have this event, something.
- 39:48SPEAKER_00: He then it shows uh Steve Carell and his wife, they're there, he's fixing it, pull it off, and then the babysitters, dad, and the babysitter show up.
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: I didn't even talk about that.
- 40:03SPEAKER_00: That's crazy.
- 40:03SPEAKER_01: Is that after Bond Gosling gonna be up there?
- 40:05SPEAKER_00: Because they all fight.
- 40:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know they fight, but I thought that was kind of the same time, no?
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: So you sh the daughter comes in, so Steve Carell's character has an older daughter, they call her Nana.
- 40:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 40:15SPEAKER_00: And you think you think that's a grandma the whole time.
- 40:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:17SPEAKER_00: You're like, oh, do you check on Nana?
- 40:19SPEAKER_00: And you're like, they're like, yeah, we checked her, yeah, she just worried about us, blah, blah, blah.
- 40:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:23SPEAKER_00: And you don't even know he has another kid.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 40:29SPEAKER_01: No, Hannah couldn't say Oh, Hannah can say Hannah.
- 40:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:32SPEAKER_01: And so they call her Nana.
- 40:33SPEAKER_01: It's Brian, it's Steve Curl's oldest daughter's name.
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: She comes to the door and it's Emma Stone.
- 40:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:40SPEAKER_00: And the the the face that both of them make at each other is so funny.
- 40:45SPEAKER_00: Ryan Gosling shows up, he's like, Yeah, it's Oh my gosh, it's so funny.
- 40:48SPEAKER_00: And especially because uh like Steve Curl's character, he knows what that other guy's been doing, the hot bar guy, and so he's like, oh, that's bad.
- 40:57SPEAKER_00: And so he's my daughter is terrible, but and then this whole commotion comes, and the dude that the wife cheated on him with is there.
- 41:07SPEAKER_00: Um the dad of the babysitter that likes um Steve Curl's character is there, so they're all beefing with each other, and like they like are punching each other, like each is taking turns, punching whoever did them wrong.
- 41:19SPEAKER_00: And but it's just it's just so funny.
- 41:22SPEAKER_00: It was it was really good.
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: It was a good twist, and I really like that.
- 41:25SPEAKER_00: It's just kind of the whole thing is how love is so crazy and it works in mysterious ways.
- 41:33SPEAKER_00: And um the kid, the son, he stopped he's for a second there, he stopped believing in it.
- 41:40SPEAKER_00: But um Steve Crohl's character brought him back and was like, you never give up.
- 41:44SPEAKER_00: Um really kind of focused on a soulmate and believing in a soulmate, and no matter what, you'll have hard times and good times, but um as long as you work through it and you care and you want to try to be better, then it'll all work out.
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: So it was good.
- 42:03SPEAKER_00: It was uh there was so many different love things going on.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: But it was it was funny, which I really liked, and it's my favorite rom-com of all.
- 42:11SPEAKER_00: Had great, great actors in it, so I really like it.
- 42:15SPEAKER_00: That's a good score.
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:17SPEAKER_00: I'm glad you liked it.
- 42:18SPEAKER_01: So arrival.
- 42:21SPEAKER_01: Complete 180, kinda.
- 42:24SPEAKER_01: This was a love story too, kinda.
- 42:26SPEAKER_01: Kinda.
- 42:27SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna start with my score.
- 42:30SPEAKER_01: And I give it a 90 out of 100.
- 42:31SPEAKER_01: Oh, I I told you.
- 42:33SPEAKER_01: This is my favorite alien movie of all time, probably.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: Mind you, I haven't seen the aliens franchise.
- 42:37SPEAKER_01: But this is like my vibe.
- 42:40SPEAKER_01: Like, I recommended Memento a couple weeks back.
- 42:42SPEAKER_01: He lit, like you experience in different times or whatever.
- 42:45SPEAKER_01: So in this movie, um, you're experiencing past, present, and future.
- 42:50SPEAKER_01: Uh Amy Adams is the main character, and she's awesome in this movie.
- 42:53SPEAKER_01: Jeremy Rainer's also good, but Amy Adams was a star.
- 42:57SPEAKER_01: Um, and she is like a linguist, I guess.
- 43:01SPEAKER_01: And so, like the aliens come down and they recruit her to like make like combine, make up a language for them.
- 43:11SPEAKER_01: Um, language was a huge thing, like misunderstanding language, knowing language, like language, once you establish a language, then you establish civilization, you establish connections and stuff.
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: And that was a big theme throughout the whole movie, but yeah, this is right up my alley, all the timey whimey stuff, all that.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: I loved it, it was awesome.
- 43:27SPEAKER_01: Um, and yeah, so 90 out of 100, and I'll just get into some of the notes I have pretty brief.
- 43:33SPEAKER_01: Um, so Amy Adams, the star, obviously, I like Jeremy Renner in it.
- 43:37SPEAKER_01: Um, I did look up, I looked up some stuff on it when I looked up to see what the l uh like the Rotten Tomatoes score was.
- 43:44SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 43:45SPEAKER_01: Um, I'll get into some of that.
- 43:46SPEAKER_01: First thing is it's based off a short story, titled story of your life.
- 43:50SPEAKER_01: Didn't know that.
- 43:51SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 43:52SPEAKER_01: Um so that was interesting.
- 43:53SPEAKER_01: And then the date it came out is important.
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: I saw that and was like, oh my gosh, because well I'll l I'll tell you that in a minute.
- 44:02SPEAKER_01: So it's hard to explain.
- 44:04SPEAKER_01: It's hard to go through the movie and explain it.
- 44:07SPEAKER_01: But basically, once she starts establishing this language, she learns their language, and then sh the aliens live in the past, present, and future, like all at the same time.
- 44:18SPEAKER_01: So they know what's gonna happen, they know what happened, like stuff like that.
- 44:21SPEAKER_01: And that allows them to live in unity and have established this, and they're really coming to Earth to help and get them so they can live another 3,000 years, so Earth can last another 3,000 years.
- 44:33SPEAKER_01: Um so they're trying to get them to understand that.
- 44:36SPEAKER_01: And so, but once she establishes that language and understands, then she starts living that way, and you start to realize like all these like different clips of her with her daughter, and they so sh it's flashing back and forth, past, present, and future.
- 44:49SPEAKER_01: You kind of don't know which one is which, because it starts, I'm pretty sure.
- 44:53SPEAKER_01: It starts and ends almost the same.
- 44:57SPEAKER_01: Um, I had a note.
- 44:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, like the first line and the last line are the exact same, which is uh come back to me.
- 45:03SPEAKER_01: So she has the baby and she's saying, Come back to me, come back to me, because the baby starts crying, and then spoiler alert, her daughter passes away and she says, Come back to me at the end.
- 45:13SPEAKER_01: You kind of think that that's like the line it's going, but you don't realize that like the alien stuff happens, you start to realize the alien stuff happened before her daughter was born, and then you start to realize that she lived in the past, present, and future knowing that her daughter was gonna die at a young age.
- 45:32SPEAKER_01: One of the things I noted, because Brandon likes to give me all these crap about the kids dying, is that I do kind of agree with Jeremy Renner being very upset that she knew that was gonna happen and decided to have a kid anyway.
- 45:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 45:46SPEAKER_01: So I get that.
- 45:47SPEAKER_01: Like I get him being upset because she had the kid knowing that was gonna happen, but also a big thing is it it you can't change.
- 45:54SPEAKER_01: And I saw someone talking about how the ship is not this like metal, like perfect sphere, it's made out of stone, and it's hit in their head it was to represent things are set in stone.
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: Like you can't change what's gonna happen.
- 46:07SPEAKER_01: Um the alien's language is a circle, so it's like uh everything comes full circle.
- 46:14SPEAKER_01: Um you're living experiencing everything forward and backward at the same time, and that gets me into one of the coolest things about this movie, directed by Denny, uh same guy that did Dune, and he's a goat.
- 46:27SPEAKER_01: He something he did in this movie, and I guess he can't take full credit for it because um it's based off a short story, but the like palindrums, things that can happen forward and backwards.
- 46:39SPEAKER_01: So here's a few things to know.
- 46:41SPEAKER_01: One of the songs that's in the movie, like theme song of the movie, is called On the Nature of Daylight.
- 46:46SPEAKER_01: It's just a beat it plays.
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: If you play that in forward and reverse, it sounds the exact same.
- 46:51SPEAKER_01: That's awesome.
- 46:52SPEAKER_01: Um obviously that's talk about her words, come back to me.
- 46:56SPEAKER_01: Uh the daughter's name is Hannah, which is a palindrome.
- 47:01SPEAKER_01: Hannah is the same forward and backwards.
- 47:03SPEAKER_01: That was cool.
- 47:04SPEAKER_01: Um and when I looked up the Rotten Tomato score, I saw that it was released on November 11th, 1111.
- 47:11SPEAKER_01: Which is also the same forward and backward.
- 47:14SPEAKER_01: That was when I saw that I was like, yeah, this is awesome.
- 47:17SPEAKER_01: Like, all those little things that they put in there, those are really cool.
- 47:21SPEAKER_01: It was just so my vibe.
- 47:23SPEAKER_01: Like I loved uh Well good.
- 47:26SPEAKER_01: I loved every minute of it.
- 47:28SPEAKER_01: That's it exactly the kind of movies I like to watch.
- 47:30SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, I thought it was pretty cool.
- 47:32SPEAKER_01: There was you see, um like the thing about the language and how it all kind of like how language is important and then the misunderstandings.
- 47:45SPEAKER_01: So one of the first things that happens when the aliens come is countries stop talking to each other, they cease to communicate, which is a big thing, and it causes a bunch of issues, obviously.
- 47:53SPEAKER_01: Um the aliens say something that they uh translate to time doesn't matter, or there is no time, use the weapon.
- 48:06SPEAKER_01: But they mistranslated it, and because they mistranslated it to say weapon, then people started freaking out, they thought they were gonna get attacked, but what they were saying is time doesn't matter, because like we already know what happens, time doesn't matter, and weapon in that case was tool, like use the tool, which is like what they're trying to teach them.
- 48:21SPEAKER_01: Um so that was important, and that happens all throughout the movie.
- 48:24SPEAKER_01: When he when she first meets Jeremy Renner, she gets in like a helicopter or something, and he has the head thing on that he's talking, and she says something to him and he can't understand it, and then he pulls his headphones off and she says it again, and then he understands it, and then he kind of makes a diss at her about how like science isn't language or something, and how it doesn't matter, and it's like, well, actually, language does matter because you couldn't understand her, and he used something that was made from science and pulled it off and were able to understand her, so that thought that was really cool.
- 48:52SPEAKER_01: Uh stuff like that.
- 48:53SPEAKER_01: It was just awesome.
- 48:55SPEAKER_01: And then you see that, like in the future, um, she a as a Chinese general, she has this like plaza place, and you notice that in the back there's like the nation's flags, but it also has the flag with the circle on it for the aliens.
- 49:11SPEAKER_01: It's also there, which is really cool.
- 49:13SPEAKER_01: This Chinese general gives her a note and says, You called me and told me this.
- 49:17SPEAKER_01: And she was she didn't remember it at all, really.
- 49:20SPEAKER_01: But um, because she lives past, present, and future, she saw that future and was able to call the general, and it was like his wife's name or something, some or something that happened that he had never told anyone.
- 49:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah and that stopped them from attacking the ship and saved everyone, stopped the war from happening.
- 49:36SPEAKER_01: So I thought that was pretty cool.
- 49:38SPEAKER_01: Like I said, completely my vibe.
- 49:39SPEAKER_01: That palindrum stuff, the forward and backwards with all those things, like the daughter's name, the old release on 11 to 11, like all that stuff was just perfect.
- 49:48SPEAKER_01: I loved it.
- 49:49SPEAKER_00: You liked it more than I did.
- 49:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I really liked it.
- 49:51SPEAKER_00: I think I probably I don't know what I gave it on Letterboxd, but uh it was probably like in eight eighty four, eighty-five.
- 49:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:59SPEAKER_01: That's a good movie.
- 49:59SPEAKER_01: It is a good movie.
- 50:00SPEAKER_01: I really liked it.
- 50:02SPEAKER_01: So that's all.
- 50:04SPEAKER_01: Check those movies out.
- 50:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, check them out.
- 50:06SPEAKER_01: They're both good.
- 50:07SPEAKER_00: Totally different, but good in their own.
- 50:08SPEAKER_01: We finally got Brandon back in the 80s and the high rankings.
- 50:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 50:13SPEAKER_01: For someone that's not a rom com guy, gave him rom coming, is it 88?
- 50:17SPEAKER_01: I just I mean, you gave me Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell.
- 50:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's just your goats.
- 50:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 50:23SPEAKER_01: So it's good.
- 50:25SPEAKER_01: Um, check that out.
- 50:26SPEAKER_01: We're gonna watch The Thang this week, review that together.
- 50:30SPEAKER_01: That should be fun.
- 50:31SPEAKER_01: It's an old movie.
- 50:32SPEAKER_01: So I've heard but we can get past it.
- 50:35SPEAKER_01: People say it is good, so excited for that.
- 50:38SPEAKER_01: Uh anything else?
- 50:39SPEAKER_01: That's all we got.
- 50:40SPEAKER_01: That's all we got.
- 50:42SPEAKER_01: Um Like I said, shout out to Standing for the Shirts.
- 50:45SPEAKER_01: We really appreciate it.
- 50:46SPEAKER_01: If you're just listening, go to the YouTube, check out the shirts while you're there, subscribe, like the videos.
- 50:52SPEAKER_01: Um, we really appreciate that.
- 50:54SPEAKER_01: Uh Brandon does I do some, but Brandon works really hard behind the scenes to make sure all these kids put out, so appreciate Brandon for that.
- 51:02SPEAKER_01: Um and if you appreciate Brandon for that, go like it a little like.
- 51:07SPEAKER_01: But yeah, other than that, we'll see you next time.
- 51:09SPEAKER_01: Thank you for watching and for listening.
- 51:10SPEAKER_01: Bye.
