- 0:21Speaker 1: I got to calm myself down because when you get to interview one of your dearest friends, it's like oh so let me introduce you.
- 0:29Speaker 1: You may not know her, Michelle Tuffer.
- 0:31Speaker 1: She's founder of no More Dry Ground.
- 0:34Speaker 1: She's a business mastermind.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I know no one who can bring faith and our love for Jesus into business like Michelle, and she's also has an amazing mastermind that I'm a member of because I just love all those ladies, and she's specialist in retreat.
- 0:49Speaker 1: So will you guys please help me?
- 0:50Speaker 1: Welcome, Michelle Tufford.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Oh, thank you so much for Teresa.
- 0:55Speaker 2: I'm the same.
- 0:57Speaker 2: I'm like so excited to be here.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you know this is kind of like old times because for a short period we did a podcast together, faith in Business.
- 1:05Speaker 1: We did and you know still on Spotify.
- 1:08Speaker 1: I was going over there to listen and we did some good.
- 1:10Speaker 1: We had some great interviews.
- 1:12Speaker 1: We had Alana Venter.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I'm thinking I got to redo that one.
- 1:16Speaker 1: That was so good I was.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Michelle.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I'm so delighted to have you here to hear your heart and hear your voice.
- 1:22Speaker 1: You know you're an activator.
- 1:28Speaker 1: You activate women in business and don't leave the faith on the back burner.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Why don't you explain a little your passion behind being that faith-based activator in business?
- 1:39Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I'm going to give you try and give you the short and sweet answer.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I'm going to give you try and give you the short and sweet answer.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Wow, Well, I mean, my journey in this online business space has evolved over the last seven, eight years.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I really started with kind of my own desires of trying to like, find my identity and to make an income, all these things, but the Lord really has revealed to me more of like his purpose for it all, which is, yes, as I found my identity and walking with him along this journey and even like to refer to it often as like I was going through this wilderness season.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Right, I think we can maybe relate to some of that when we start out on a new journey or a business, but getting to come alongside other women going on that same journey, like I just have such a passion for helping women understand what it means to really truly find fulfillment in their life, in the journey and through the process, that it's not just about trying to get to the destination, but that it's about we can truly walk with the Lord hand in hand and find joy in it, Also the skills that the Lord has placed on our heart.
- 2:46Speaker 2: So when I get to meet women and I see their potential, it just gets me so excited because that's the body of Christ.
- 2:52Speaker 2: I'm like we need what you have.
- 2:54Speaker 2: How can I help you serve more people with the giftings they have?
- 2:58Speaker 2: So yeah, I just love seeing women thrive and walking with Jesus and enjoying the journey.
- 3:06Speaker 1: I remember seeing your voice online before I met you and got to know you, and I remember thinking how is she doing this?
- 3:13Speaker 1: Meaning she's unashamed, saying she loves Jesus and at the same time she's talking about principles of business, which really, if you want to think about it, principles of business is in the Bible.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Come on, let's get real.
- 3:27Speaker 1: So then I'll never forget it.
- 3:31Speaker 1: I always got to share this story because I was at an event, a conference for this one group, and I remember seeing Michelle on stage and I directly heard the Holy Spirit say this is maybe two years ago, almost three.
- 3:46Speaker 1: That's who I want you aligned to.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I said okay, and as only God could do it, he did align me, as she was my leader in this particular business for a period of time, but I swear I stayed in the business just so I could get to talk to Michelle that's.
- 4:04Speaker 1: I think I want to say that for encouragement for someone, michelle, because connections are vital to help remind you hey, remind you, you have a voice, you can find your voice, you can share your voice.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Reminding you that back to the basics is from your identity that you get the authority, even in your business, and I think you keep the identity thought heavy in all your teaching.
- 4:29Speaker 1: So how important has it been to learn your own identity than to be able to speak on your identity?
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yes, so honestly, for me, truly stepping and understanding more of my identity has come from learning how to hear from God.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Stepping and understanding more of my identity has come from learning how to hear from God God for myself and not through the lens of anyone else.
- 4:54Speaker 2: For so long, I mean, I've grew up in a, you know, religious home, grew up going to church, became really good at church attending and and yeah, I had, you know, some relationship with God, but it was, it was just at a distance.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I didn't really understand that I could actually be so close to the Lord in a way that I could hear him.
- 5:08Speaker 2: So learning how to hear God speaking and then coming into that and growing in that capacity and understanding that that's where my identity comes from.
- 5:19Speaker 2: It's not from trying to pursue everything that the world says I should do Right, which is really hard on social media and the way the business is now, where you know we're so in the public eye and everyone's telling you what you should and shouldn't do Right, and then you're comparing yourself to people around you and it's like no, you, you've got to go right to the source.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:41Speaker 2: For something that's, yes, lord, speaking into me and knowing that that's where my identity comes from, then I can show up from a place of overflow right.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Going to a dry ground name right.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Show up from the overflow of my relationship with God.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Right, that is my identity.
- 5:59Speaker 2: It's overflow of Jesus.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I so appreciate you say that, because I don't know where I'd be if I didn't have that FaceTime with Jesus time.
- 6:10Speaker 1: And yeah, I remember I was having that time and I was this was quiet a few years ago and I would be having my quiet time and all of a sudden these marketing ideas would come to my mind.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I'd push them away and then I saw a sermon by Bill Johnson at Reading and he's like, if you're having your time with the Father and you're getting these ideas, write them down and then maybe go back.
- 6:32Speaker 1: I was so religious in my time with God but since then that's just a wellspring of abiding with him.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And yes, in the vineyard that you hear, you can hear amazing marketing ideas.
- 6:47Speaker 1: You can use the tools around you.
- 6:50Speaker 1: So then when you get up from there where whenever I prefer in the morning with Jesus and coffee is my lifesaver but then you can come up from there and you really are going from the overflow Meaning I really believe your words come easy.
- 7:03Speaker 1: I believe marketing strategies come easy.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I think, michelle, one of the biggest things that God has helped me just recently is focus on one thing don't be all over the place, because I've been all over the place at different times, but folk talk about how important it is for you because you're you're running these masterminds, these retreats.
- 7:23Speaker 1: You know you got it.
- 7:25Speaker 1: She's got one of the most amazing Facebook groups.
- 7:27Speaker 1: We'll have to make sure we put that in the notes, because it's what is it now?
- 7:30Speaker 1: How many thousand?
- 7:32Speaker 2: Oh, I think we're close to 35,000.
- 7:34Speaker 2: 35,000.
- 7:36Speaker 1: And they are Jesus loving businesswomen, so we'll have to put that in the show notes.
- 7:40Speaker 1: So how do you focus?
- 7:43Speaker 1: Stay focused on the well stream from the foundation, but still we're.
- 7:52Speaker 2: We're human.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like you.
- 7:54Speaker 2: I like, I like to do a lot of different things.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I get excited about a lot of different things and the Lord is teaching me how to pace with him, right Cause I have a tendency I just like want to run, jump ahead Like I get.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Even the Lord will give me ideas, but I'm learning that when the Lord downloads something doesn't mean that I have to go now.
- 8:11Speaker 2: It's like, hey, hold onto that, Hold onto that.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I'm actually holding onto something right now that is related to what you do, which is launching a podcast.
- 8:19Speaker 2: So I'm just like holding onto it.
- 8:20Speaker 2: I'm like just tell me when to go with it, but on to it.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I'm like tell me when to go with it, but so now I'm learning how to hold on to things.
- 8:27Speaker 2: The Lord's giving me for the green light to go Right, but I believe that the Lord, he will give you capacity.
- 8:32Speaker 2: That's the other thing the Lord is telling me.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Because sometimes people ask me like Michelle, how do you do it all?
- 8:37Speaker 2: Like it almost to the point where it makes me question like should I be doing so much?
- 8:46Speaker 2: But then I remember.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I remember like, well, if it's from the lord he's going to give me capacity for it right.
- 8:49Speaker 2: So we have to be careful too that we don't talk ourselves out of the more.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Yeah, when the lord is calling you to the more, because he will like that your tent pegs right, like when you that prayer of jabez, like that's coming from a place of the lord's giving you capacity, you're're making sense of being for the more, and so I believe the Lord's giving me capacity.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Yes, as an outsider, I see the Lord give you capacity for that and that's a good word because that's something at my age I've had to learn, that, hey, my brain capacity after 4 pm is a little struggled.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Respect that and take good care of you.
- 9:25Speaker 1: I like that.
- 9:26Speaker 1: You said you're holding on something and you did say it was podcasting.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I wrote a mini e-book about.
- 9:34Speaker 1: It's entitled like something about your voice carries the sound of heaven, how to use your voice and authority to bring people or to introduce them to the Father.
- 9:43Speaker 1: So I'm like my normal person is like let's get this signed up, let's get a podcast or let's get a, you know, e-book set up.
- 9:52Speaker 1: But I felt thank you for saying that because I felt like the Lord said, sit on it, hold on to it.
- 9:57Speaker 1: That e-book may be your next book period.
- 10:00Speaker 1: So I was like, oh, it's so fun doing that, god.
- 10:03Speaker 1: And he's like like, well, you have four chapters, maybe I want to add two more, and then I'm this is me.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Well, that's too long for a giveaway.
- 10:10Speaker 1: So thank you for saying that.
- 10:13Speaker 1: I just see breathe the words into the book.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I know, and it's all about your voice and about identity a lot of times when I say voice, michelle, you know this.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I'm really talking about your identity, because your voice represents the identity, the background, the adventures, the answers that can impact thousands, the value it's in a unique expression like michelle's voice has an amazing, unique, unique expression of her identity, her values and experiences.
- 10:48Speaker 1: She's coming from the Father's love and it impacts thousands.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Let's grab that for someone.
- 10:54Speaker 1: You can be that too, or join Michelle and learn how she handles lots of women with lots of issues.
- 11:00Speaker 1: So, in that regards, wait until God gives you the green light.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and don't you believe I wish I could get the exact word.
- 11:10Speaker 1: It was actually I can't.
- 11:12Speaker 1: It was actually a prophetic word for someone next to me what God orders he pays for.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Sit on that someone.
- 11:21Speaker 1: What God orders he pays for.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Or.
- 11:25Speaker 1: I'd like to think of you if you're listening.
- 11:28Speaker 1: You're not chasing money, Money's chasing you.
- 11:31Speaker 1: You don't have to chase stages, They'll find you as you continue to learn to use your voice.
- 11:38Speaker 1: So in the beginner stage.
- 11:40Speaker 1: What's like?
- 11:41Speaker 1: Okay, grounded, no doubt a relationship, intimate relationship with Jesus.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Okay, that's our foundation.
- 11:48Speaker 1: But where would someone, how, what steps would someone take to gradually learn to use their voice on stages, Our Instagram, our stages, our Facebook, our stages?
- 11:59Speaker 1: What would be some of the beginning steps, michelle?
- 12:03Speaker 2: I have to reflect back into the beginning stages of what I did.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I actually I went live a lot on like Facebook and things.
- 12:13Speaker 2: It was a way that allowed me to just practice.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I would say, just being okay, showing up a little messy.
- 12:21Speaker 2: What holds people back is you're afraid of you know, if they say the wrong thing or too many likes and ums.
- 12:29Speaker 2: I still do that.
- 12:30Speaker 2: I will listen to myself back and I'm but it realizing that the Lord can still show up through that.
- 12:40Speaker 2: He reaches people through it and it's my, my obedience is just taking the action, even if it's a little messy, and even in the midst of fear, because there was a lot of fear for me in the beginning.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Okay.
- 12:52Speaker 2: A lot of my topics even when I would go live was talking about overcoming fear.
- 12:56Speaker 2: I basically was talking to myself in my life, most of my life's angry.
- 13:01Speaker 2: So you have to start messy.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I think that's what I would say.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Be okay with it not being perfect.
- 13:08Speaker 2: And even Moses right.
- 13:10Speaker 2: He said, like I can't talk, I'm not good at talking.
- 13:13Speaker 2: And God said I am going to be with you.
- 13:16Speaker 1: I'm with you.
- 13:17Speaker 1: To be honest, messy is real.
- 13:21Speaker 1: People don't want you to be all scripted.
- 13:23Speaker 1: And I was listening to a podcast.
- 13:25Speaker 1: She's going to be my guest in a couple of weeks and she hired a real expensive place and they were telling her what to say and she didn't like to be scripted.
- 13:32Speaker 1: So she went and did what they said.
- 13:34Speaker 1: What ranked higher when she just picked her phone up and just talk from her heart.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I was so resonated with that because it's real tempting to chat, gpt everything or get someone tell me what to say.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Ultimately.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I think I've been this way since 2010.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I roll out of bed and I trust God to give me what I need to say for today.
- 13:57Speaker 1: That may sound, oh, that's not very organized, but I ask, and I know you're the same way.
- 14:03Speaker 1: I love it when you sit waiting for your kids at school and you're in the car, girl, you drop wisdom bombs from that location.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I will say with another pointer that I would have kind of going along with spending your time with Jesus is also in pouring into yourself with things that you love, like the things that I share that are the most valuable, I would say, is coming from a place that I just got off, like reading a really good book or your podcast, or I'm spending time with people that just fill me right.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I think there's intentionality and what you're surrounding yourself with and what you're filling your mind with and what you're exposing yourself to, right, yeah, so if you don't feel inspired, go out and find things that inspire you, yeah, get inspired, be intentional, like one day I wasn't inspired.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I wasn't not inspired, I just didn't really know what I was going to post for the day and I started Michelle this is even hard to say in front of the weight lifting cream queen.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I started to work out and I just turned my phone on and then I edited it and I couldn't have planned that.
- 15:12Speaker 1: When I came to Crunches, my cat looked over at me like what are you doing?
- 15:17Speaker 1: And so I was able to put something funny because I think we all need to smile.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I like to make people laugh anyway, but I'm not a comedian.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Someone said you should be a comedian.
- 15:26Speaker 1: No, thank you, that's not my role.
- 15:27Speaker 1: So I mean, sometimes people love your everyday thing.
- 15:32Speaker 1: One of my former mentors mentors she goes live every day and while she does her makeup she answers questions.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I mean, how raw is that?
- 15:40Speaker 1: And if you're too stilted and too scripted they're gonna scroll.
- 15:44Speaker 1: They want to see the real.
- 15:45Speaker 1: You, okay, you're a little messy.
- 15:46Speaker 1: I struggle with messy hair days.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I struggle with 61 eyes, 61 eyes that sound funny, 61 year old eyes.
- 15:54Speaker 1: So do you agree sometimes, sometimes being real like that is the best thing you could do?
- 16:01Speaker 2: yes, real vulnerable.
- 16:03Speaker 2: You're so right, people are kind of done with the fake, especially now with a lot of kind of the ai coming in and, yeah, people are kind of they're, they're catching, they're like I just want real, show me real.
- 16:15Speaker 1: So, yes, Especially, there's this someone I think of.
- 16:18Speaker 1: I know she's very good in AI and her profile.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I know it's AI and I almost want to say you're beautiful, you don't need that.
- 16:26Speaker 1: I think people are catching on, though, and so, yeah, I think when you're at different stages, you got to realize that God loves process, because in process there's progress, and he's not looking for perfection, he's just looking for your heart and obedience.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Sometimes, when he tells you to do something and you're like I can't do that, and you know that, you know you hurt him.
- 16:51Speaker 1: If he tells you to do something, he's going to give you the grace to walk there.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Has he ever told you something kind of like?
- 16:59Speaker 1: I mean, you're taking on masterminds and retreats and I understand now you sit on it, but has he ever told you, told you something where you're like me?
- 17:08Speaker 1: Oh, I think I know the answer to this me oh yeah, all the time.
- 17:12Speaker 1: How about the speaker academy?
- 17:17Speaker 2: I really didn't think I was meant to be a speaker on a stage, just didn't think it was my calling.
- 17:23Speaker 2: So when I felt prompted to sign up for the speaker academy, out me.
- 17:29Speaker 2: But then the lord really just spoke into that and I told him I didn't have a story because I thought speakers, like they, have to have some like profound story, some gory story or you know something like they've just been through and I'm like my life, I feel like it's just really boring, I don't know what to say.
- 17:47Speaker 2: But then the Lord like convicted me and he's like not your story I want you to share.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Wow, okay, it was his story.
- 17:57Speaker 2: He just wanted me to be in a position to say yes and allow him to speak through me and it's been like even looking back now.
- 18:06Speaker 2: This wasn't that long ago, but like that I had no idea was preparing me for even stepping in and reach these retreats.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Now that I'm speaking, I'm now also coaching at a gym where I deliver a devotional every morning.
- 18:20Speaker 2: So there's all of that was preparation for me for the next part.
- 18:26Speaker 1: And look at your obedience.
- 18:27Speaker 1: I mean, I was your biggest cheerleader, I was at the same Academy and I'm like you can do it.
- 18:32Speaker 1: You're meant to be on.
- 18:35Speaker 1: You were so amazing I really had fun, uh, bonding over that experience with you and natalie, and I had my daughter there so she could experience life.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Let's talk about speaking.
- 18:48Speaker 1: It doesn't have to be on stage now when you're I be redundant here, but when you're talking into your social, that is your stage.
- 18:56Speaker 1: And I think there's something to be said for practice.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Back in the day, when you were going live, I was going live too, and it was back in the day.
- 19:06Speaker 1: When you open up your Facebook and boom, you're flooded with people.
- 19:09Speaker 1: It's not like that anymore.
- 19:10Speaker 1: So if you're doing a live and you only see one person there, don't, don't be moved if you see no people there.
- 19:20Speaker 1: I've done webinars where no one showed up live and I just acted like they were there.
- 19:22Speaker 1: So I think I'm so passionate because I think there's some voices that need to be unlocked, and I'm trying to ask you the questions that would help someone to unlock their voice.
- 19:32Speaker 1: And really it's about um coming to this place of like.
- 19:37Speaker 1: You know that.
- 19:38Speaker 1: You know you have a voice and the message, the story, needs to be heard.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Yeah, where, once again, where would be the?
- 19:46Speaker 1: You shared your groundwork, but what do you think would be a if you were to give advice to someone yeah, one.
- 19:53Speaker 2: One thing that's coming to mind right now, kind of going back to you mentioned like, you know, how many viewers are you having?
- 19:58Speaker 2: Maybe now it's just this one person, right?
- 20:01Speaker 2: I think that can be really discouraging, especially when you're first getting started, and it can almost be to make you think that it's not worth it, like, what am I doing?
- 20:10Speaker 2: No one's even listening to me, right?
- 20:12Speaker 2: And get into this spiral of like well, maybe my voice doesn't matter and the enemy will use that to to keep you from continuing to show up.
- 20:20Speaker 2: But I always like to just remind, remind you and myself I need this reminder that it's not about the numbers, it's about that one person who needs and the Lord can also multiply, right, he's bigger than the algorithm, right?
- 20:40Speaker 2: You just give them something to work with, it's?
- 20:43Speaker 2: you know, the five loaves and the two fish, like they didn't have enough to feed them either, right, but the Lord can take that obedience and that offering that you have and you can multiply that obedience and that offering that you have and you can multiply, but remembering that your voice is meant for, even if it's just for one person, would it be worth it, knowing that your voice, someone needs to hear yours, cause you may be thinking like, well, well, michelle's already talking about that, her Teresa's already talking, yeah.
- 21:16Speaker 2: No they're not going to be able to reach.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I'm not going to be able to reach the people the way you are, and vice versa Right.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Yeah, we all are meant to share, and there's someone who's connected to your yes in a way that no one else can.
- 21:31Speaker 1: That's so good.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Someone's connected to your yes.
- 21:34Speaker 1: You said yes to be brave.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I had a stint on TikTok that taught me a lot.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I went through the valley of the TikTok death and I was so into the numbers.
- 21:46Speaker 1: I was getting all these numbers and all of a sudden, boom, they went low and you know what I had to get?
- 21:53Speaker 1: Tiktok.
- 21:54Speaker 1: It wasn't serving me well.
- 21:57Speaker 1: I was going live every day and I used to have like 400 people live and it's going down to 275.
- 22:02Speaker 1: And my coach said theresa, imagine 275 people in a room listening to you.
- 22:06Speaker 1: There you go, change the thought and I'm like, okay, but I did get off tiktok.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I'm on it now because of the editing system.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I can't wait for Instagram to come out with the editing, so I edit my stuff and I'll put stuff over there Now under a different focus of find your voice and once in a while, boom, people are a different audience.
- 22:27Speaker 1: People are like oh, I need to hear that.
- 22:29Speaker 1: I did this one video.
- 22:31Speaker 1: I was really somber.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I was on my way to get my lashes done and this song was hitting me and all I could say and you know, it doesn't have to be perfect I was anything but perfect and I just said the sound.
- 22:43Speaker 1: The sound brings people home.
- 22:48Speaker 1: What is your sound?
- 22:49Speaker 1: It might be in the kitchen cooking for family.
- 22:52Speaker 1: What is your sound?
- 22:54Speaker 1: And I was like, deliberate, and I had long pregnant pauses, but it was so on my heart sometimes.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Okay, so I'm giving an example where something's so on your heart.
- 23:05Speaker 1: I didn't wait till I could get all the words to that thought.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I just clicked play.
- 23:13Speaker 1: And then then some believe it or not, sometimes those are the best because they can see you're just, you're talking from the heart, and that over TikTok went good for me, but it was my heart.
- 23:26Speaker 1: So to be able to represent your heart, let me tell you, one of the most rewarding things is when you're able to feel free to and share your heart.
- 23:37Speaker 1: No scripts.
- 23:38Speaker 1: You may need scripts, okay, that's fine, just don't act like you're reading it.
- 23:41Speaker 1: What do you think about that?
- 23:45Speaker 1: I mean, I think you do that.
- 23:47Speaker 1: I've seen you just bear.
- 23:48Speaker 1: You just say listen, this is Michelle, I'm going to come and be a bear, but don't you agree?
- 23:53Speaker 1: It's actually a training ground.
- 23:55Speaker 1: It's a training ground to how God wants to speak through you.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a training ground to how god wants to speak through you.
- 24:02Speaker 1: You're not.
- 24:03Speaker 1: He's not gonna speak to you like me or michelle, so stop comparing yourself.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Come on, I see you don't do that, do you agree?
- 24:07Speaker 1: I mean, I catch myself comparing myself.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I have an amazing coach.
- 24:10Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, I can't be alana.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Stop.
- 24:13Speaker 1: She's just anything she posted.
- 24:14Speaker 1: I said that I can't be you.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Well, don't be me.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we all struggle with that to certain capacity, even the ones we think don't.
- 24:24Speaker 2: I think they do.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Yeah, no doubt.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I agree, I think, speaking from the heart, the vulnerability, the surrender it's like a surrendered posture, yeah, of knowing that you're just sharing something that the lord's put on your heart.
- 24:42Speaker 2: It's not.
- 24:42Speaker 2: It kind of almost takes the like performance out of it, like performance pressure out.
- 24:49Speaker 2: It's like I'm just here to tell you what is on my heart right now, from a place of like a.
- 24:55Speaker 2: There's a conviction like, yeah, conviction in what it is that you're saying.
- 25:00Speaker 2: When you truly believe in what you're saying and it hits you, that resonates, like people are really drawn into that, they can tell the difference.
- 25:08Speaker 2: They can tell when it's something you truly care about and that needs to be said, versus just filling space.
- 25:13Speaker 2: I think that's not filling space.
- 25:18Speaker 1: I think a lesson I've learned is before going to this major retreat in the start of the year, I'm like I don't know how I'm going to be.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Am I going to be quiet?
- 25:26Speaker 1: Am I going to be in a two-hour session?
- 25:29Speaker 1: Just be you.
- 25:30Speaker 1: If you're not, you people are losing out on the real you.
- 25:35Speaker 1: If I'm not me, you're going to lose out If you're.
- 25:38Speaker 1: If you're not gonna be you, michelle, I'm gonna miss out on what you have who you are.
- 25:43Speaker 1: I'm excited to get that over because I'm going to your retreat in a couple weeks like, okay, just be, teresa, don't.
- 25:49Speaker 1: I was thinking I was gonna be the sly one you know in the back just observing and being quiet, me being quiet.
- 25:56Speaker 1: No, it turned out they were like I.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I never thought of myself this, but they said I was the clown of the parties and I'm like I don't think.
- 26:04Speaker 1: But apparently just being me made people laugh, so that's fun.
- 26:09Speaker 1: I mean, I don't want to be a comedian.
- 26:11Speaker 1: So many people have seen me talk and said you really should be a comedian.
- 26:14Speaker 1: That's not me, so be who you are.
- 26:18Speaker 1: What is that verse?
- 26:18Speaker 1: I have Jeremiah.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Before I knew you.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I know the Psalm one I formed you in the mother's womb.
- 26:26Speaker 1: But there's one about sorry, I don't know it right now, it's very pivotal on.
- 26:31Speaker 1: God formed you, he made you with a personality, he wants you to be you because you being you is going to impact someone that no one else can reach, or you're the fine-tuned instrument of a surgeon.
- 26:45Speaker 1: You can go into places and and your words can speak to the person you once were and you're going to be able to heal them.
- 26:51Speaker 1: You might be that fine instrument and sometimes you have to wait because you got to be a good, fine instrument.
- 26:57Speaker 1: I mean, if you're all full of scars, you're speaking from your wounds.
- 26:59Speaker 1: I mean, if you're all full of scars, you're speaking from your wounds and not your scars, then you're going to hurt someone.
- 27:04Speaker 1: But I love God loves that though, he loves your, your heart that you want to be a.
- 27:09Speaker 1: You want to be that fine instrument and really speak to the people you once were.
- 27:15Speaker 1: As I've healed from trauma a lot of times, I won't speak exactly.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I'll take some messages, but that's what I really am excited about the Second Omar Academy not just going to be all trauma, but really to hey, let's find your voice, let's really find your voice, okay, and we'll teach you how to share it and speak it, but let's help you get to the groundwork of finding it.
- 27:36Speaker 1: I think you do that really well without saying it in your mastermind.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Tell us about your mastermind and what's been going on there.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Yeah, you bet.
- 27:45Speaker 2: So the mastermind is really kind of focused in on Christian women in business, coming alongside them, helping them get really clear on who it is that they serve, really clear on your message, helping you show up as an authority in the space, helping people really see through the way that you're showing up, that you have answers, that you have solutions for the problems that they're facing right Really again goes back to why you feel called to do what you do in business.
- 28:11Speaker 2: It's because you want to help people have transformation.
- 28:14Speaker 2: You want to help people have breakthrough right.
- 28:16Speaker 2: So, we can, in the mastermind, come alongside you and help you find those people and connect you with those people through your message.
- 28:23Speaker 2: That's kingdom work, right?
- 28:25Speaker 2: Yeah, people are being transformed, people are having breakthrough because of the solutions that you carry.
- 28:30Speaker 2: So like that just lights me up.
- 28:32Speaker 2: I love that.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 28:35Speaker 2: I'm sorry, so we have that right business, but the core foundation, heart of it all is that we are partnered with the Lord.
- 28:43Speaker 2: We're doing it from the place of overflow, god and knowing who we are and identity, because it is so easy without that to get caught in this striving and performing, which then leads to the anxiety and the stress and the all the things that doing business without God leads to.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I've been there and so like, stay rooted in the word and with each other, because we're a community that is there to support each other and really go to war for each other in prayer.
- 29:14Speaker 1: And it's, yeah, it's really it's awesome to experience experience that and now you're having retreats.
- 29:19Speaker 1: At the time of this release, it'll be the first few days of February.
- 29:23Speaker 1: When's your retreat, and do you have any spots open for someone?
- 29:28Speaker 2: right now we have two spots left, two spots okay, and it's February 19th, through the 23rd Surfside Beach, south Carolina.
- 29:37Speaker 2: So Portal Beach is kind of the major like airport people will be flying into for the retreat, and then Surfside Beach is only about 10, 10 minutes or so from Myrtle Beach, but we're right on the ocean.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Oh wow, literally private boardwalk right out to the beach.
- 29:52Speaker 2: It's gonna be absolutely amazing all inclusive, so all of your meals are included and that's awesome.
- 30:00Speaker 1: I was gonna ask you that offline and I said I need to bring my peanut butter and jelly.
- 30:05Speaker 1: I got you we have some all the all the coffee, any kind of special drinks, things that you like just give me a coffee and my my I was gonna say going to say my Bible, but my iPad, which I read my Bible on, so really, the retreat is is really about kind of the theme no more dry ground, like giving you an opportunity to come and just drink from the living water, like just spend time in his presence.
- 30:36Speaker 2: We're going to create a lot of opportunity for you to just be with Jesus, because I feel like at retreats at least ones I've been to there's some beautiful ones, but every waking moment is scheduled.
- 30:47Speaker 2: From the time you wake up, you're getting talked to and there's activity after activity, and then you go to bed and you're like I am so tired, I am overloaded.
- 30:56Speaker 2: The way that we do it it's not like that.
- 30:59Speaker 2: For our first retreat, we got some really good feedback.
- 31:03Speaker 2: On that, though, thank you for not scheduling a wake up moment.
- 31:06Speaker 2: There's free time and it's going to be really great, but it is long for four days.
- 31:12Speaker 2: But again, we want you to get into the rest.
- 31:16Speaker 1: I think it has to be for this, and even on the media side, you're going to give us we're going to have some media time for B-rolls.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Michelle's amazing when it comes to the camera and how to use it, and I've learned secrets from her, so I can't wait to learn more.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Yeah, we're going to train you?
- 31:34Speaker 1: No, that might be.
- 31:35Speaker 1: You could say okay, write it off for business.
- 31:41Speaker 2: It's not just Jesus, jesus, it's jesus in film and media, so I'm gonna spend time with jesus, have some fun building our businesses.
- 31:47Speaker 1: It's gonna be great I'm in driving distance, so I'm already thinking because I can drive my car and I have to fly.
- 31:53Speaker 1: I think I think I'm gonna load up the stuck no more podcast studios and come and bank some videos.
- 31:59Speaker 1: And I just think it know, sometimes it may be at a retreat.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Someone got a breakthrough.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Well, we want the.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Wouldn't be great if we had a breakthrough interview?
- 32:08Speaker 1: People just came to the plate and said let me tell you my breakthrough.
- 32:11Speaker 1: So my creative mind is going crazy on that.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Michelle, I got to tell you Since the last time I interviewed you let's just talk interviewing on our podcast.
- 32:22Speaker 1: It is so awesome to see you obey God, do some tough yeses, because you had to say no to some people.
- 32:30Speaker 1: But what I see is you in the fullness of what God's placed you for this period, and there's no knock on where you came from.
- 32:41Speaker 1: But I really believe you're glowing in this place.
- 32:44Speaker 1: I think not that you lost the glow, but you got to go where God goes and the glow comes.
- 32:50Speaker 1: But I just want to thank you for being obedient, for ministering to my heart in so many ways, but ministering to women that are really searching.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Can I really put Jesus together with my business?
- 33:01Speaker 1: How do I get leads?
- 33:03Speaker 1: Now, what do you mean about an opt-in?
- 33:05Speaker 1: You know all of this techie stuff, but coming with Jesus, I mean you're the first person I've ever seen do advertising and Jesus is just right there with the copy and I want to thank you for that.
- 33:18Speaker 1: I think you're a real pillar in the community of online, of Christian women doing business.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I think the integrity that got you hold, I think the intentionality, and then bundle all up and with one of the most authentic people you will meet, that's Michelle Tufford.
- 33:36Speaker 1: So in our show notes I'm going to, I want you to connect with Michelle.
