- 0:14Speaker 1: make sure you follow her on Twitter. Great stuff there
- 0:16Speaker 1: and even better as substack and culture. At substack you
- 0:20Speaker 1: get columns and videos and podcasts and interviews. It's and
- 0:24Speaker 1: culture dot substack dot com and culter how you doing? Gop?
- 0:32Speaker 1: Are you there? And Culter?
- 0:36Speaker 2: Hello? I said fantastic? Sorry about that?
- 0:38Speaker 1: There you are?
- 0:39Speaker 2: So? How are you?
- 0:41Speaker 1: I'm good? I'm good. So where do we even start?
- 0:44Speaker 1: How about here in New York City Council, they're talking
- 0:47Speaker 1: about doubling the minimum wage to thirty dollars an hour. Now,
- 0:51Speaker 1: whenever this is done, every single time everywhere, as soon
- 0:54Speaker 1: as you do that, a lot of people get fired
- 0:56Speaker 1: because businesses can't afford to have that many people getting
- 0:58Speaker 1: that much, and the businesses closed, they leave, New businesses
- 1:02Speaker 1: don't come. How come democrats can't figure this out after
- 1:05Speaker 1: it's been proven a million times?
- 1:08Speaker 2: I know, I was just thinking that yet another business
- 1:12Speaker 2: is I think I just read on Twitter Starbucks and
- 1:17Speaker 2: Howard Schultz moving out of Washington State because they've just
- 1:21Speaker 2: imposed an income tax and he's moving the headquarters Starbucks
- 1:26Speaker 2: to Nashville. He himself is moving to Florida. Who's going
- 1:30Speaker 2: to be left in these blue states? It's going to
- 1:32Speaker 2: be all welfare recipients, which is why we need to
- 1:37Speaker 2: be very careful about who whom we elect nationally, because
- 1:41Speaker 2: the only way you can pay all the welfare recipients
- 1:45Speaker 2: unless you have people earning money, working productive of earning
- 1:49Speaker 2: money in your state, is to have the federal government
- 1:52Speaker 2: redistribute it from the healthy, economically healthy states to the
- 1:58Speaker 2: welfare states, i e. Red states to the blue states.
- 2:03Speaker 2: You know, this comes up all the time. And one
- 2:05Speaker 2: thing I think people the minimum wage. One thing I
- 2:08Speaker 2: think people aren't aren't considering about it because whatever the
- 2:12Speaker 2: minimum wage is at the moment, raising it bit by
- 2:16Speaker 2: bit incrementally doesn't quite reveal although yes, jobs are lost,
- 2:22Speaker 2: but just how damaging it is. Without a minimum wage,
- 2:27Speaker 2: and a minimum wage at all, there would be all
- 2:30Speaker 2: sorts of jobs that don't even exist now because, as
- 2:33Speaker 2: you say, it's not worth paying for certain jobs to
- 2:36Speaker 2: be done. And you know, we're devincots always talk about
- 2:40Speaker 2: you know you can't you can't support a family of
- 2:43Speaker 2: four on this Okay, that's not what the minimum wage
- 2:45Speaker 2: is for. It's for people, you know, teenagers, it's for
- 2:51Speaker 2: kids maybe, or maybe people who are getting out of
- 2:55Speaker 2: mental health institutions or prisons, or or or disabled. In
- 3:01Speaker 2: some ways, it's people entering the work for us most
- 3:04Speaker 2: of the time, and that's very important. It sounds silly
- 3:07Speaker 2: to someone who's had people who had jobs their entire lives,
- 3:10Speaker 2: but learning to wake up to an alarm clock and
- 3:13Speaker 2: get yourself to a place of employment is a life
- 3:17Speaker 2: skill that the minimum wage allows people to learn. Whenever
- 3:22Speaker 2: this would come up in the Senate when I was
- 3:23Speaker 2: working there, I always wanted my boss to introduce an
- 3:27Speaker 2: amendment instead demanding that the minimum wage be one hundred
- 3:33Speaker 2: thousand dollars a year. And you know what would the
- 3:36Speaker 2: Democrats argument against that be, Well, everything you and I
- 3:39Speaker 2: are saying it just it just makes it a little
- 3:41Speaker 2: more obvious.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Yeah. So it's the same thing with taxes. You know,
- 3:46Speaker 1: if you just were a common sense person looked around
- 3:48Speaker 1: and say, these states with no taxes, no state tax
- 3:52Speaker 1: are booming. Every business moves there, everybody moves there. How
- 3:55Speaker 1: hard is that to figure out for Democrats?
- 3:59Speaker 2: I know, I know, and I talked to Democrats about this,
- 4:04Speaker 2: and I guess part of the problem is the transition period,
- 4:09Speaker 2: because they do have all these obligations to the public
- 4:13Speaker 2: sector union. The states, especially the Blue states, but all
- 4:17Speaker 2: the states could use their own DOGE program to come
- 4:20Speaker 2: in and get rid of all these worthless government employees
- 4:24Speaker 2: just fucking up taxpayer money doing jobs we don't want
- 4:29Speaker 2: done and being unfireable. They could really reduce the number
- 4:34Speaker 2: of public sector employees. And you know, the new income
- 4:43Speaker 2: coming in hasn't begun yet, whether it's from property taxes
- 4:48Speaker 2: or tourism or just more businesses moving in. So it's
- 4:51Speaker 2: always the transition problem, which is why you should never
- 4:54Speaker 2: raise taxes in the first place.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, Warren Iran has got the Democrats. They can't
- 5:00Speaker 1: come up with the narrative. They're trying to say, no
- 5:03Speaker 1: more endless wars. Can you really say endless? It's day twelve.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I wouldn't call that endless, would you.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Well, i'd call it a pointless war. But I will
- 5:13Speaker 2: say I agree with you. I would like the Democrats
- 5:16Speaker 2: to be more of a loyal opposition party. And no,
- 5:20Speaker 2: I don't think they're making the right arguments. But surprisingly enough,
- 5:25Speaker 2: you know, for the first time agree with him, but Hugrews,
- 5:29Speaker 2: Joe Rogan, Andrew Schultz, I think this is this is
- 5:36Speaker 2: not going over well with the MAGA base.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Well, but wait till it's done. It's a good thing
- 5:41Speaker 1: to get rid of the Aatola. It's a good thing
- 5:43Speaker 1: to liberate Iran, isn't it.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I don't think it's a good thing to take our
- 5:48Speaker 2: attention off our own country. I mean, as I was
- 5:52Speaker 2: thinking of any comment about this, I haven't yet. But
- 5:55Speaker 2: I was a huge supporter of obviously both Afghanistan, though
- 6:01Speaker 2: I must always add the footnote didn't want to stay
- 6:04Speaker 2: there for twenty years and paint George Floyd murals. But
- 6:08Speaker 2: things were very different back then. We had just been
- 6:12Speaker 2: attacked on nine to eleven. And I will quickly add
- 6:16Speaker 2: in response to liberals saying a rock didn't attack us
- 6:20Speaker 2: on nine to eleven. Yeah, okay, now there's a Afghanistan.
- 6:23Speaker 2: It was al Qaeda. It was Osama bin Laden, who
- 6:26Speaker 2: was not an Afghani. He just happened to move his
- 6:29Speaker 2: wandering tints and set up the flagpole in Afghanistan. Certainly
- 6:36Speaker 2: there was no worse dictator than Saddam and his comely
- 6:42Speaker 2: sons torturing their own people, gassing his own people, gassing
- 6:46Speaker 2: the kuwaitis two hundred thousand killed by him. There were
- 6:50Speaker 2: plenty of reasons to attack Saddam Hussein, but at the
- 6:53Speaker 2: same time or and at the same time, the country
- 6:56Speaker 2: wasn't in nearly as much trouble our country, that is
- 7:00Speaker 2: to say, as it is now. We just went through
- 7:03Speaker 2: four years of the Biden administration, I won't say Joe Biden.
- 7:08Speaker 2: So you had no idea what was going on. You're
- 7:11Speaker 2: hauling in multiple millions of poverty stricken, non English speaking criminals,
- 7:18Speaker 2: and we've already had thirty million of stump. That's on
- 7:23Speaker 2: top of the thirty or forty million illegals we already had.
- 7:27Speaker 2: We really have our own problems to deal with right now.
- 7:30Speaker 2: And you know, as I said in Adios America, it's
- 7:33Speaker 2: like when you're on a plane and they say, you know,
- 7:38Speaker 2: in an emergency, the oxygen mask will will drop. Put
- 7:41Speaker 2: on your own mask first before helping children. Okay, American
- 7:46Speaker 2: needs to put on its own mask first before we
- 7:49Speaker 2: can go around helping the rest of the world. Iran
- 7:52Speaker 2: poses zero danger to any American, whereas, oh my gosh,
- 7:58Speaker 2: every single day illegal aliens are killing America.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Well, hey, I don't think we talked to you since
- 8:04Speaker 1: Christy Nome left. Are you happy about her leaving?
- 8:07Speaker 2: But yeah, I was unhappy about her being chosen. That's
- 8:12Speaker 2: the facts to term one of Donald Trump were well,
- 8:18Speaker 2: mainly Christy Noman. I would also add attorney in general, Bondie.
- 8:25Speaker 1: You want her going next?
- 8:26Speaker 2: Trump is a little soft on the ladies, all right.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Well, and Culter great stuff. Everybody should follow her on
- 8:36Speaker 1: Twitter and even better as Substack. A new column comes
