- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Telugu with Fexingo. Episode 55. I'm Lucas, and as always, I'm here with Luna. Luna: Hi everyone! I'm so excited for today's topic. Lucas, what are we learning? Lucas: Today, we're going to talk about visiting the doctor. You know, when you're not feeling well and need to get help. It's a super practical situation. Luna: Oh, that's really useful. I remember last month I went to the doctor and I had no idea how to say anything in Telugu. I just pointed. Lucas: Well, today we'll fix that. We have five key phrases to learn. Ready to dive in? Luna: Absolutely. Let's do it. Lucas: First phrase: 'I am sick.' In Telugu, you say 'నాకు జబ్బుగా ఉంది.' Luna: నాకు జబ్బుగా ఉంది. Lucas: Good. నాకు means 'to me' or 'I have', జబ్బుగా means 'sick', ఉంది means 'is'. So literally 'to me sick is.' Luna: So నాకు జబ్బుగా ఉంది is 'I am sick.' Lucas: Exactly. Let me say it once more slowly: నాకు జబ్బుగా ఉంది. Now you try. Luna: నాకు జబ్బుగా ఉంది. Lucas: Perfect. Next phrase: 'I need medicine.' In Telugu, 'నాకు మందు కావాలి.' Luna: నాకు మందు కావాలి. Lucas: Great. మందు is 'medicine', and కావాలి means 'need' or 'want'. So నాకు మందు కావాలి. Luna: నాకు మందు కావాలి. I like how కావాలి sounds. Lucas: Me too. Now, if you have a fever, you can say 'నాకు జ్వరం వచ్చింది.' That means 'I have a fever.' Luna: నాకు జ్వరం వచ్చింది. Lucas: Yes. జ్వరం is 'fever', వచ్చింది means 'came' or 'has come'. So 'fever has come to me.' Luna: That makes sense. నాకు జ్వరం వచ్చింది. I think I've got it. Lucas: Awesome. Now, if you need to ask 'Where is the hospital?' you say 'ఆసుపత్రి ఎక్కడ?' Luna: ఆసుపత్రి ఎక్కడ? Lucas: Yes. ఆసుపత్రి is 'hospital', and ఎక్కడ means 'where'. So 'hospital where?' Luna: Simple enough. And the last one? Lucas: The last one is 'Please help me.' In Telugu, 'దయచేసి నాకు సహాయం చేయండి.' Luna: దయచేసి నాకు సహాయం చేయండి. That's a long one. Lucas: Let's break it down. దయచేసి is 'please', నాకు is 'to me', సహాయం is 'help', చేయండి is 'do' as a polite command. So 'please to me help do.' Luna: దయచేసి నాకు సహాయం చేయండి. Got it. Let me repeat them all. Lucas: Sure, go ahead. Luna: నాకు జబ్బుగా ఉంది. నాకు మందు కావాలి. నాకు జ్వరం వచ్చింది. ఆసుపత్రి ఎక్కడ? దయచేసి నాకు సహాయం చేయండి. Lucas: Wow, that was excellent. You sound like a natural. Luna: Thanks! But I think I need more practice with the last one. Can you say it again slowly? Lucas: Of course. దయచేసి నాకు సహాయం చేయండి. Now you try. Luna: దయచేసి నాకు సహాయం చేయండి. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's put them into a little scene. Imagine you're not feeling well, you go to the doctor, and you say: నాకు జబ్బుగా ఉంది. నాకు జ్వరం వచ్చింది. Luna: Then the doctor asks where it hurts, but we haven't learned that yet! Lucas: True, but for now, you can just say నాకు మందు కావాలి. And if you need to go somewhere, you can ask ఆసుపత్రి ఎక్కడ? Luna: And if I'm really in trouble, I say దయచేసి నాకు సహాయం చేయండి. Lucas: Exactly. Let's do a quick review. I'll say the English, you say the Telugu. Luna: Okay. Lucas: I am sick. Luna: నాకు జబ్బుగా ఉంది. Lucas: I need medicine. Luna: నాకు మందు కావాలి. Lucas: I have a fever. Luna: నాకు జ్వరం వచ్చింది. Lucas: Where is the hospital? Luna: ఆసుపత్రి ఎక్కడ? Lucas: Please help me. Luna: దయచేసి నాకు సహాయం చేయండి. Lucas: Perfect! You really nailed it. Luna: Thanks to your teaching. I feel ready for a doctor visit now, at least with these phrases. Lucas: That's the goal. Remember, practice makes progress. Try using these phrases in your daily life, even if you're just imagining the situation. Luna: For sure. And listeners, keep practicing with Fexingo. See you next time! Lucas: Yes, keep learning, and we'll be back with another episode soon. Until then, happy learning!
