- 2:04Sean McAllister: Let's spin that wheel.
- 2:13Dayna Roselli: Welcome to episode 145.
- 2:15Dayna Roselli: We hope you had a good Thanksgiving if you celebrate here in America.
- 2:20Dayna Roselli: I know we ate a lot and played some games and drank a lot.
- 2:24Sean McAllister: Yeah, I'm still in my stretchy pants.
- 2:27Sean McAllister: I'm gonna need to be for the next couple weeks, I have a feeling.
- 2:31Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, I know.
- 2:33Dayna Roselli: We did eat a lot, but it was worth it, right?
- 2:35Sean McAllister: It was.
- 2:36Sean McAllister: I love Thanksgiving.
- 2:37Sean McAllister: It's one of my favorite holidays.
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: I know you always talk about that.
- 2:40Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 2:40Dayna Roselli: You love and your side dish there that you made, that macaroni and cheese, it was delicious.
- 2:45Sean McAllister: Oh, that's our our thing every year is that macaroni and cheese.
- 2:50Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's two of like the best things out there, right?
- 2:53Dayna Roselli: Macaroni and cheese.
- 2:54Sean McAllister: I know, and there's lots of cheese.
- 2:56Sean McAllister: So it's like the cheese sauce from scratch, plus some other cheese mixed in.
- 3:01Dayna Roselli: So good.
- 3:02Dayna Roselli: And then we had that bread dip that you and I have were talking about, and we were like, we didn't know if it was like an East Coast thing, because a lot of people on the West Coast haven't heard of it.
- 3:11Dayna Roselli: But it's this, I don't know if people have ever had it, but it's like this this you get a round bread.
- 3:17Sean McAllister: Like a rye bread.
- 3:18Dayna Roselli: A rye bread, you dig out the middle and you put the dip in there, and then you take the bread that you have on the side and cut it up, and then you dip the bread in this dip.
- 3:29Dayna Roselli: It's like a chipped beef dill.
- 3:31Dayna Roselli: It's delicious.
- 3:31Dayna Roselli: We used to have it all the time in Rochester, New York.
- 3:35Dayna Roselli: It was like at every holiday party, Super Bowl party, you name it.
- 3:39Sean McAllister: When I was a kid, I would park myself next to the bread bowl.
- 3:43Sean McAllister: And the only break I would take was to go over to the shrimp cocktail when that came out.
- 3:48Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, me too.
- 3:49Dayna Roselli: That's exactly what I did.
- 3:50Dayna Roselli: Shrimp cocktail and the bread dip on Christmas Eve was like one of my favorites.
- 3:54Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 3:55Dayna Roselli: That is so funny.
- 3:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 3:56Sean McAllister: Grandma's house.
- 3:57Sean McAllister: That was it.
- 3:58Dayna Roselli: Oh, so good.
- 4:00Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 4:00Dayna Roselli: Well, we're gonna get more into the holidays that are upcoming, holiday events, all that coming up here in just a little bit.
- 4:06Dayna Roselli: But before we get into that, Sean, we have to talk about your ticket master experience when you ordered your pink tickets.
- 4:13Dayna Roselli: She's coming to Allegiant Stadium in 2023.
- 4:17Dayna Roselli: And I know you even got in on a pre-sale, but even though you were on the pre-sale, you didn't avoid the fees.
- 4:23Sean McAllister: No, I didn't avoid the fees.
- 4:24Sean McAllister: And I have to say, uh, this is all coming off the heels of that entire debacle with Taylor Swift tickets going on sale.
- 4:34Sean McAllister: They did the presale that absolutely crashed Ticketmaster.
- 4:38Sean McAllister: And then a couple days later, Ticketmaster came out and said that they were just canceling the general on sale tickets altogether.
- 4:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was crazy.
- 4:48Dayna Roselli: Even people who were on the wait list of the verified fan pre-sale part didn't even make it in line.
- 4:56Dayna Roselli: No, so it's like if you weren't on that, it I mean, she sold out so quick, they took everyone, like they didn't save seats for the general public.
- 5:05Dayna Roselli: So it was like all crazy.
- 5:07Dayna Roselli: I mean, good for Taylor, as in like she sold out really quick, and obviously huge demand, and that's pretty incredible to sell out stadiums like that, but what a mess.
- 5:18Sean McAllister: It was a real mess.
- 5:19Sean McAllister: And so the day I bought tickets was the day that Ticketmaster announced that they were canceling the on sale for the rest of Taylor's tour.
- 5:27Sean McAllister: And I uh was going on, as you mentioned, Dana, to get tickets to Pink here at Allegiance Stadium.
- 5:35Sean McAllister: That show isn't until October 7th of next year, so the later half of 2023.
- 5:42Sean McAllister: Um, but there was a Verizon presale because I have Verizon service, so I got in to the Verizon presale.
- 5:50Sean McAllister: Um, but it was a mess.
- 5:52Sean McAllister: Like, because you have to go in and link your Verizon account to Ticketmaster, like all within the Ticketmaster site.
- 6:01Sean McAllister: Right.
- 6:01Sean McAllister: And it kept navigating me to blank pages.
- 6:04Sean McAllister: And then I would have to restart the process all over again.
- 6:08Sean McAllister: Get in line, wait for my turn, and then link the accounts again.
- 6:13Sean McAllister: And there were a few times I would do the same process like three times over before it actually took.
- 6:22Sean McAllister: And I was on online trying to buy tickets and do all these account linkings for like 45 minutes.
- 6:29unknown: Wow.
- 6:30Sean McAllister: And that doesn't even count like the time, the wait period to get in.
- 6:35Sean McAllister: Right.
- 6:36Sean McAllister: Um, and you know, I expired my the little clock is counting down in that corner.
- 6:41Sean McAllister: And you know, a couple times that expired on me because it was just annoying and a mess.
- 6:47Sean McAllister: So I finally got tickets in the in my shopping cart, put my card in, hit purchase, and then I got the confirmation email and I went back to look at the itemized like bill that came.
- 7:08Sean McAllister: It's crazy.
- 7:09Dayna Roselli: First of all, um, we should let everyone know you did splurge a little on tickets because you won you love pink.
- 7:14Dayna Roselli: I did.
- 7:15Dayna Roselli: You guys wanted to be on the floor, right?
- 7:18Dayna Roselli: Um, so that already was, you know, you bit the bullet and and paid a little more than you would normally for tickets because you love pink.
- 7:26Dayna Roselli: So you'd think, okay, great.
- 7:28Dayna Roselli: But then, like, there were add-ons that were on top of that, right?
- 7:33Dayna Roselli: It wasn't in like the amount that you thought you paid for the tickets.
- 7:38Sean McAllister: No, in my mind, I'm thinking, okay, yeah, we are splurging a little bit.
- 7:42Sean McAllister: We're gonna pay extra to get, you know, good seats up close.
- 7:48Sean McAllister: But after I went back and looked at all the fees and taxes that were added in, do you want to get your calculator out?
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: Let's do it.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: Hold on.
- 7:57Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 7:58Sean McAllister: So I was just my mouth hit the floor, and after I got over the shock phase of everything, I was really pissed off.
- 8:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 8:07Dayna Roselli: This is for two tickets.
- 8:09Dayna Roselli: So this isn't fees for one, like, and it's it's not even like a package deal.
- 8:14Dayna Roselli: Like it's twice.
- 8:15Dayna Roselli: Every time we do this, it's like times two.
- 8:17Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 8:18Sean McAllister: Not for this first one.
- 8:19Sean McAllister: This first one is an order processing fee for five dollars.
- 8:23Dayna Roselli: Five dollars.
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 8:24Sean McAllister: Not bad.
- 8:25Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 8:25Sean McAllister: The next fee.
- 8:27Sean McAllister: I mean, I guess.
- 8:28Sean McAllister: Pretty processing.
- 8:29Sean McAllister: I mean, okay, whatever.
- 8:30Dayna Roselli: Anyway.
- 8:31Sean McAllister: The next fee is times two.
- 8:33Sean McAllister: It's eight dollars times two for a facility charge.
- 8:38Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 8:38Sean McAllister: So I imagine that sixteen dollars is going directly to Allegiant Stadium.
- 8:42Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 8:44Sean McAllister: The next is a service fee for sixty-seven dollars and five cents.
- 8:55Dayna Roselli: Times two, right?
- 8:56Sean McAllister: Times two, that's a perfect ticket.
- 8:59Sean McAllister: And then we have tax, which was twenty-three dollars and forty cents for each ticket.
- 9:10Sean McAllister: Twenty-three forty.
- 9:11Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 9:12Dayna Roselli: Two hundred and one dollars and ninety cents.
- 9:15Sean McAllister: Were the taxes and fees that were added on top of of the ticket price that's more than two hundred dollars in fees and taxes.
- 9:29Dayna Roselli: And so what's that sixty-seven dollar one?
- 9:32Dayna Roselli: What's the title of it?
- 9:33Sean McAllister: A service fee.
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: Service fee.
- 9:35Dayna Roselli: Wait, what does that even mean?
- 9:37Dayna Roselli: Service for what?
- 9:38Dayna Roselli: You already have a security fee in there, right?
- 9:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, I mean, maybe it's the service for screwing me over.
- 9:43Sean McAllister: I don't know.
- 9:43Dayna Roselli: I guess so.
- 9:45Dayna Roselli: Really?
- 9:46Dayna Roselli: Because you have the processing, the facility, and service.
- 9:52Sean McAllister: What's the service fee?
- 9:53Sean McAllister: I have no idea.
- 9:54Sean McAllister: I have a feeling it's a big load of BS, is what it is.
- 9:57Dayna Roselli: It sounds like it, because I feel like the uh what you would need in a stadium is covered in those other two categories.
- 10:04Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 10:04Dayna Roselli: Sorry, do you get your own personal butler or waitress?
- 10:08Sean McAllister: Absolutely not.
- 10:08Sean McAllister: I get to walk in the door, is what I get to do.
- 10:11Sean McAllister: Oh no.
- 10:11Sean McAllister: Now here's my thing.
- 10:12Sean McAllister: Do you get parking?
- 10:13Sean McAllister: No, parking isn't even included in that.
- 10:15Sean McAllister: So that's gonna be another 40-50 bucks.
- 10:18Sean McAllister: Jeez.
- 10:19Sean McAllister: I mean, so when all said and done, this splurge on the actual ticket price is I mean, it's gonna be half a mortgage payment.
- 10:30Sean McAllister: Legit.
- 10:31Sean McAllister: Seriously, I could have gone on a cruise.
- 10:33unknown: You could have.
- 10:34Sean McAllister: My god.
- 10:35Dayna Roselli: At least a four-day.
- 10:36Sean McAllister: At least down to Ensenada.
- 10:38unknown: Exactly.
- 10:39Sean McAllister: My lord, and I would have been able to eat all I want, go see some great entertainment in the cruise ship lounge.
- 10:47Dayna Roselli: You could have even bought the drink package for that.
- 10:49Sean McAllister: No kidding.
- 10:51Sean McAllister: My God.
- 10:52Sean McAllister: So these fees that Ticketmaster is adding on is an absolute ripoff to the fans who want to go and support their favorite artists.
- 11:03Sean McAllister: And I think there's gonna be some blowback on this because it is absurd.
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: And people will come back and say, Well, you paid for it.
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: So why would they get rid of it?
- 11:13Dayna Roselli: Everyone's buying.
- 11:13Dayna Roselli: Look at Taylor Swift sold out.
- 11:15Dayna Roselli: People are paying for it.
- 11:17Dayna Roselli: It's like, but it doesn't make it right.
- 11:19Sean McAllister: It doesn't make it right.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: It's yeah, you have no choice.
- 11:23Sean McAllister: And that's the problem.
- 11:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:25Sean McAllister: There is no other way to get the tickets without having these fees, even if it's on the secondary market.
- 11:31Sean McAllister: Guess what?
- 11:32Sean McAllister: You're going to be covering those fees that somebody else already paid.
- 11:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:38Dayna Roselli: And it's not like you can cut things out.
- 11:40Dayna Roselli: Like, well, I'm going to give that up to avoid this fee.
- 11:43Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:43Dayna Roselli: I'm going to BYOB.
- 11:44Dayna Roselli: You know, like cut out the uh facility fee.
- 11:51Sean McAllister: It's going to tailgate really hard.
- 11:53Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 11:54Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 11:55Dayna Roselli: Well, you know what?
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: Um, Pink should be very thankful for fans like you that are coming to see her at Allegiant Stadium because the fees are uh reality.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: We'll see what happens.
- 12:08Dayna Roselli: Something has to change.
- 12:09Sean McAllister: And what I will say about it, I know that tours are expensive to put on.
- 12:14Sean McAllister: And tours are uh, I mean, it's not cheap for artists and dancers and a band and crew to go and do all this.
- 12:23Sean McAllister: But I assume, uh and I may be wrong, and if anybody listening knows this, please correct me.
- 12:30Sean McAllister: I would assume that uh the ticket price covers the tour and that this facility charge of eight dollars per ticket goes to Allegiance Stadium to cover the cost there.
- 12:47Sean McAllister: This service fee of 67 bucks is just Yeah, that doesn't even I mean, is that going to pay for Ticketmaster's GoDaddy account?
- 12:57Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 12:58Sean McAllister: Because that would pay for it for almost a whole year times every person buying a ticket.
- 13:04Sean McAllister: Seriously.
- 13:05Sean McAllister: Give me a break.
- 13:06Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 13:06Sean McAllister: Anyhow, I'm off my soapbox.
- 13:09Dayna Roselli: Okay, well, listen, it's a legitimate conversation and it's something people should be aware of.
- 13:13Dayna Roselli: So uh spread the word.
- 13:16Dayna Roselli: Plan to add in uh a buffer if you are buying concert tickets through Ticketmaster these days, a big buffer.
- 13:24Dayna Roselli: Well, let's uh move to a positive thing, and that is a show that you saw recently in a behind-the-scenes story you did for Vegas on.
- 13:33Dayna Roselli: Um, you actually interviewed and had a little one-on-one interaction with Shin Lim over at the Mirage.
- 13:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, and Shin Lim, if you're uh a regular viewer of America's Got Talent, you definitely know who Shin Lim is.
- 13:48Sean McAllister: He's the magician, the illusionist with the great hair and very mysterious.
- 13:54Sean McAllister: Uh, he has a residency called Limitless over at the Mirage.
- 13:59Sean McAllister: I went over there for uh the series Vegas On uh that we are correspondents for and did a story and interviewed Shin Lim.
- 14:09Sean McAllister: He is phenomenal.
- 14:12Dayna Roselli: Really?
- 14:13Dayna Roselli: I mean, it was interesting because you and I went, wait a minute, how because we've seen like every show, we feel like that's a show we hadn't seen.
- 14:21Dayna Roselli: But then you went and did the one-on-one, and you were like, I mean, it he was incredible.
- 14:25Dayna Roselli: I, you know, uh I'm there, I'm going.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: Uh, your mom came into town, you guys all went, and you said the show was one of the best you've ever seen in Vegas.
- 14:35Sean McAllister: One of the best.
- 14:36Sean McAllister: It blew our minds.
- 14:39Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it's all Shin Lim, and he has uh another mentalist who is also a part of the show, and they kind of trade on and off.
- 14:48Sean McAllister: You know, Shin Lim will do one act, then the mentalist comes out and and does an act.
- 14:53Sean McAllister: So they kind of trade on and off throughout the show.
- 14:55Dayna Roselli: I like that because it keeps it moving.
- 14:57Sean McAllister: It does, and they're they they're doing very different kinds of magic and illusion.
- 15:04Sean McAllister: Um and it's up close magic.
- 15:08Sean McAllister: And so there's not I mean, I it's hard to explain.
- 15:13Sean McAllister: I want to say that there's no way that he can be doing what he's doing, but that's not true because he's doing it.
- 15:18Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 15:19Sean McAllister: But in my mind, I'm like, how in the world is this happening?
- 15:23Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 15:24Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 15:25Dayna Roselli: The stories that you were you were telling me.
- 15:26Dayna Roselli: And I guess it's one of those things again where we don't want to give away some of the things that happen in the show because it is that jaw-dropping moment and that shocker.
- 15:35Dayna Roselli: So we won't go into extreme detail, but I know that it blew your mind.
- 15:40Dayna Roselli: And uh you were the second person that week that told me uh Frank Marino, our friend Frank, that is in uh Legends.
- 15:49Dayna Roselli: He actually just um ended his run in Legends, but you know, very popular uh drag queen on the strip for many years.
- 15:55Dayna Roselli: He said, I went to Shin Lim and it was one of the best shows I've seen in Vegas.
- 15:58Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 15:59Dayna Roselli: And we said, Really?
- 16:00Dayna Roselli: And we were like, okay.
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: So I mean, it's just been such a Shinlim week that we were like, you know, and then you did that happen to get assigned that story.
- 16:08Dayna Roselli: So um if you want to see that, go to uh well, Sean's Twitter.
- 16:11Dayna Roselli: We have a link up uh for his segment on Shinlim.
- 16:14Dayna Roselli: Also, we you can go to the YouTube, the visit Las Vegas YouTube or visit losvegas.com and watch that segment.
- 16:21Dayna Roselli: It will blow your mind, but like you said, when you go actually see the show, it's even like times 150.
- 16:29Sean McAllister: I was very pleasantly surprised by the show.
- 16:35Sean McAllister: It was phenomenal.
- 16:37Sean McAllister: Add that like this is a must see show.
- 16:40Dayna Roselli: Okay, yeah.
- 16:41Dayna Roselli: I I love this.
- 16:42Dayna Roselli: A must-see show for everyone listening.
- 16:45Dayna Roselli: Go see Chin.
- 16:46Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna get there soon and and see it as well because I'm excited about it.
- 16:50Sean McAllister: Um, I think you're gonna love it.
- 16:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and the stories you were telling me, I was like, wow, this sounds really good.
- 16:54Dayna Roselli: So good to know, very good to know.
- 16:57Dayna Roselli: Um, down the street at Resorts World, Zook Nightclub and Resorts World announced that they have a new resident DJ and it's Cascade.
- 17:06Dayna Roselli: I was excited to hear about this because I know Cascade is huge.
- 17:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, and he's been around Vegas for a long, long time at different properties.
- 17:13Sean McAllister: So it's cool to see him link up with Resorts World and the Zook group.
- 17:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I guess he has dates in uh January, February, and then also one day in March.
- 17:24Dayna Roselli: So if you want to go see him, um, you gotta book those days or mark your calendar.
- 17:30Dayna Roselli: Um, the whole list is on their website, or you can go to his Instagram as well.
- 17:34Dayna Roselli: But always, you know, uh fun when he's at the elm of the helm of the party because he really knows what he's doing.
- 17:42Dayna Roselli: Um, but he's their newest resident performer, also at um Iuden day club and Zook Nightclub.
- 17:47Dayna Roselli: So I'm assuming that as it starts to warm up in 2023, he'll be out at the day club as well.
- 17:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:53Sean McAllister: So that's great to have Cascade back.
- 17:55Dayna Roselli: Um, who else is back?
- 17:56Dayna Roselli: Oh, Gordon Ramsey.
- 17:58Dayna Roselli: We talked about this before that this restaurant was opening, but now it is open officially over at Hara's, and it's Gordon's new restaurant.
- 18:06Dayna Roselli: So this is like his, I know we've done this before, counted on our hands, but I think his sixth restaurant here in Las Vegas.
- 18:13Sean McAllister: It's called Restaurant Ramsay, again, as you said, uh Dana, over at Harra's Las Vegas.
- 18:19Sean McAllister: Uh, and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful.
- 18:24Sean McAllister: The space that they've uh uh designed for this restaurant, absolutely gorgeous, big open concept kind of space you can see into the kitchen and everything.
- 18:35Sean McAllister: Um and of course on the menu, you're going to find some of Gordon's classic uh menu items like the Beef Wellington, the risotto, the you know, he's sea scallops.
- 18:49Sean McAllister: He's got some iconic things.
- 18:53Sean McAllister: But in addition, he's also put dishes on there that are inspired by his travels around the world.
- 18:59Dayna Roselli: Oh, I like that.
- 19:00Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 19:00Dayna Roselli: So that's kind of what makes it different.
- 19:02Sean McAllister: Interesting.
- 19:02Sean McAllister: So there's some different flavors that you won't find at his other restaurants.
- 19:07Dayna Roselli: And I know we had talked um in the past about also he's having, I think, is it is it like a seafood bar or an oyster bar or something like that.
- 19:13Dayna Roselli: He's got he's got a a bar in there, a food seafood bar, some in some way that I know those are popular too, because we were saying at other properties off the strip, um, there's a lot of those and they're always packed.
- 19:28Dayna Roselli: People like that experience of being up close right in front.
- 19:30Dayna Roselli: So um, it sounds delicious.
- 19:33Dayna Roselli: Uh listen, he always hits it out of the park.
- 19:35Dayna Roselli: I have no doubt.
- 19:35Dayna Roselli: I'm excited that this is going in Harris, too, because even you and I were chatting the other night and saying, you know what?
- 19:41Dayna Roselli: Like Harrah's is what Hara's is, right?
- 19:45Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's uh it's not, I wouldn't say a top, top-of-the-line hotel where you're going for.
- 19:51Dayna Roselli: It's not five-star, but it's always busy.
- 19:55Sean McAllister: It's always packed.
- 19:56Dayna Roselli: People love it.
- 19:57Dayna Roselli: It's casual, it's fun, it has some good restaurants, it has some great shows.
- 20:03Dayna Roselli: You can go see Donnie Osmond at Hera's, you know, and there's many other shows too.
- 20:08Dayna Roselli: And uh it has a Ruth Chris steakhouse as well that sits stripside with the windows.
- 20:14Sean McAllister: That's a gorgeous view.
- 20:15Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 20:15Sean McAllister: I mean, I think that's uh kind of a I don't want to say it's a a hidden secret or a hidden gem because it's there, right?
- 20:23Sean McAllister: But I feel like a lot more people would be going to it if they knew the view.
- 20:29Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 20:29Dayna Roselli: Very true, very true.
- 20:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so I think uh having a Gordon Ramsey restaurant in there kind of kicks it up a notch, but I think it's gonna be busy.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: I think it's gonna do well, and I'm glad to see Air is thriving.
- 20:41Sean McAllister: So yeah, that's great.
- 20:42Sean McAllister: And they have redone a lot of their hotel rooms too, so you know, that adds to the you know, the new feel that you get when there's new restaurants and shows and all that in there, too.
- 20:55Sean McAllister: Um, shall we run down some of the holiday activities going on around town?
- 21:00Sean McAllister: Yeah, let's do it.
- 21:01Dayna Roselli: You know, it's uh officially past Thanksgiving, so um, even though some things have opened before Thanksgiving, but something that you and I went to and we mentioned we were going to this, the tree lighting over at the new Enchant on the Strip at Resorts World.
- 21:16Dayna Roselli: Um, Enchant last year came to Las Vegas and was at the Las Vegas ballpark, and it's still going to be there, but we have a double location.
- 21:23Dayna Roselli: Uh, somebody wrote me on Twitter and said, wait, you guys get one on the strip too?
- 21:26Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, Yeah, well, you know, Las Vegas.
- 21:28Dayna Roselli: We're Las Vegas, we're very extra.
- 21:32Dayna Roselli: So yeah, we now have one on the strip.
- 21:34Dayna Roselli: You and I went to the tree lighting and kind of the VIP night, which was fun.
- 21:37Dayna Roselli: We got to see it all before it actually opened to the public.
- 21:40Sean McAllister: And it really was uh if anything's gonna get you in the holiday spirit, it's enchant.
- 21:46Sean McAllister: And the this enchant at Resorts World is sponsored by the Hallmark channel.
- 21:52Sean McAllister: So it definitely has that kind of vibe.
- 21:55Sean McAllister: There's these vendor booths throughout that are that have almost a little shallow.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 22:01Sean McAllister: Kind of feel.
- 22:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 22:02Sean McAllister: The the bar tents.
- 22:05Sean McAllister: There's I at least three big tents that have bars and lounges inside.
- 22:12Sean McAllister: And it feels like you're stepping into a ski lodge.
- 22:14Dayna Roselli: It does.
- 22:15Dayna Roselli: They did a really great job.
- 22:16Dayna Roselli: They got the beanbag chairs and the Hallmark movies going in one corner.
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: Then they have, like you said, of that chalet.
- 22:22Dayna Roselli: They have the tipsy tipsy tent.
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: I don't know, or something like that.
- 22:27Dayna Roselli: The word tipsy was in there somewhere.
- 22:29Dayna Roselli: Um and that was really cool.
- 22:30Dayna Roselli: But you're right, it kind of is like each thing that you step into is kind of a little bit of a different winter feel, but they're right on with the decor and the atmosphere.
- 22:42Dayna Roselli: It it was great.
- 22:43Dayna Roselli: And then there's the maze with all the lights.
- 22:45Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 22:45Dayna Roselli: And the, I think they said 100-foot tall Christmas tree.
- 22:50Dayna Roselli: It is officially the tallest Christmas tree on the Las Vegas strip.
- 22:55Dayna Roselli: They lit that up.
- 22:56Dayna Roselli: It's gorgeous.
- 22:57Dayna Roselli: And gosh, there was so much other stuff that you could buy ornaments, you could buy Christmas cookies, a lot of food there.
- 23:05Dayna Roselli: We wanted to go through the food because we felt like the pretzel bites were absolutely delicious.
- 23:11Sean McAllister: And you got a ton of them.
- 23:13Dayna Roselli: A ton.
- 23:13Dayna Roselli: So FYI, if you have kids and you're bringing kids, or even an adult, I mean, you do not, you probably can't finish the pretzel bites.
- 23:22Dayna Roselli: That's how many there are.
- 23:23Dayna Roselli: So it's a good portion.
- 23:24Sean McAllister: No.
- 23:25Sean McAllister: No.
- 23:25Dayna Roselli: And they had some mustard and cheese.
- 23:28Dayna Roselli: And the cheese was really good.
- 23:30Dayna Roselli: That was delicious.
- 23:31Dayna Roselli: You had the, you didn't have the hot dog.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: You were going to, but then we looked at the hot dog and it was huge.
- 23:36Sean McAllister: It was giant.
- 23:37Sean McAllister: That's why I didn't get it.
- 23:38Sean McAllister: Cause I was like, oh my gosh, like that's a lot to finish.
- 23:42Sean McAllister: I had a brat, so you know, a normal size um sausage.
- 23:47Sean McAllister: Um, but the here's the thing if you're going with a family to enchant, I recommend getting the giant hot dog and cutting it into fours.
- 23:57Sean McAllister: And that will be that should be enough.
- 24:00Sean McAllister: If you get one hot dog, split it up into fours plus the pretzel bites, your family will be set.
- 24:08Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 24:09Dayna Roselli: Delicious.
- 24:09Sean McAllister: Well, that's assuming that you have four people in your family.
- 24:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, exactly.
- 24:12Sean McAllister: You know.
- 24:14Dayna Roselli: You're going on the traditional.
- 24:16Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 24:17Dayna Roselli: Um, yeah, no, definitely.
- 24:19Dayna Roselli: That is that is so true.
- 24:20Dayna Roselli: Um, something that we also loved was the hot cocoa.
- 24:23Dayna Roselli: And here's why, because I'm not even a hot cocoa fan because I feel like it's too sugary.
- 24:27Dayna Roselli: But then you got one, and I was like, oh, that looks kind of good.
- 24:30Dayna Roselli: So I got one and I was like, this is delicious.
- 24:33Dayna Roselli: It was like a creamy, warm chocolate milk almost.
- 24:38Sean McAllister: It was.
- 24:38Sean McAllister: It was so like it wasn't too sugary.
- 24:41Sean McAllister: There was like not too sugary, but it was, it was just nice and like rich and creamy.
- 24:46Sean McAllister: Rich and creamy.
- 24:48Sean McAllister: And it had Bailey's in it.
- 24:50Dayna Roselli: And we, yeah, we we opted for the Bailey shot to go in there.
- 24:53Dayna Roselli: We were both a little chilly and we thought, oh, we need to warm up.
- 24:56Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 24:56Sean McAllister: I was like, I don't need a cold drink, I need a warm drink.
- 24:59Dayna Roselli: A warm drink.
- 25:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that we recommend the hot chocolate for sure.
- 25:02Dayna Roselli: That was delicious.
- 25:03Sean McAllister: Really good.
- 25:04Sean McAllister: And you get it in a Hallmark mug, a commemorative mug.
- 25:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 25:08Sean McAllister: I think I am working on a whole set.
- 25:11Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 25:11Sean McAllister: It's really good.
- 25:12Sean McAllister: And hey, uh, just something to keep in mind when you're buying tickets and looking for a day to go to Enchant on the strip.
- 25:20Sean McAllister: Um, we did look up, and there are certain Wednesdays while it's open uh that kids go for free.
- 25:29Sean McAllister: So if you want to save a little money, still get the Enchant experience uh on Wednesday, November 30th, Wednesday, December 7th, and Wednesday, December 14th, kids are uh get in for free.
- 25:45Sean McAllister: Oh, that's a job.
- 25:46Sean McAllister: So you have to buy your adult tickets, okay, but the kids can go in, which I mean that's a big money saver right there.
- 25:54Sean McAllister: Huge, huge.
- 25:54Dayna Roselli: Because yeah, these things can add up.
- 25:56Dayna Roselli: It can be a little bit pricey.
- 25:57Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's worth it because it's it's fun and it's a such a great experience.
- 26:02Dayna Roselli: But if you can save a little money and go on a Wednesday, that is a great tip right there.
- 26:06Dayna Roselli: Love that.
- 26:07Dayna Roselli: Okay, so Enchant at Resorts World is officially open.
- 26:10Dayna Roselli: Go enjoy if you want a great Christmas and holiday experience.
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: It's a lot of fun.
- 26:16Dayna Roselli: Something um way down the road, M Resort, that is, I think it's new this year, isn't it?
- 26:23Dayna Roselli: It's a snow carnival.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: I love this.
- 26:25Dayna Roselli: Um, and when I was reading about it, you and I have not been yet.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: Uh we got invited, but we have something else uh happening at the moment.
- 26:32Dayna Roselli: So we we couldn't go.
- 26:33Dayna Roselli: But this sounds really cool as well.
- 26:36Sean McAllister: It does.
- 26:37Sean McAllister: And they're transforming this entire area into a winter wonderland.
- 26:41Sean McAllister: I there's gonna be snow flying and uh snowball throwing.
- 26:47Sean McAllister: You can build a snowman.
- 26:49Sean McAllister: Oh, which is fun, which is rare in Las Vegas.
- 26:53Dayna Roselli: That is.
- 26:54Sean McAllister: Uh, there's going to be a celebratory attraction that'll offer just a ton of seasonal, fun, cheery, merry experiences.
- 27:05Dayna Roselli: And then this sounds fun: the mini matter horned snowslide.
- 27:09Sean McAllister: Yeah, sledding.
- 27:10Dayna Roselli: That's great.
- 27:12Dayna Roselli: That is.
- 27:12Dayna Roselli: There's a candy cane forest, or you can stop by a snow play area for a lot, tons of uh winter games and all sorts of stuff.
- 27:19Dayna Roselli: This sounds really fun.
- 27:20Dayna Roselli: So I love it.
- 27:21Dayna Roselli: And it's different.
- 27:22Dayna Roselli: That sounds different from Enchant.
- 27:24Dayna Roselli: So I love that we have a variety of holiday things going on.
- 27:27Dayna Roselli: And the M is if you've never been, um way south of, gosh, even you know, way south of Mandalay Bay.
- 27:35Dayna Roselli: It's kind of you pass it when you're driving in from LA or out of town, but it's like in the Southern Highlands-ish area, right?
- 27:41Dayna Roselli: Right on St.
- 27:42Dayna Roselli: Rose.
- 27:42Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 27:42Sean McAllister: So if you're if you drive in from Southern California, if you're on the 15, you pass the M resort before you, you know, get into the whole resort corridor.
- 27:53Sean McAllister: Um, if you're staying on the strip, then you just hop on Las Vegas Boulevard and drive south.
- 28:00Dayna Roselli: Yep, that's it.
- 28:00Dayna Roselli: Or the 15 and literally go one road.
- 28:03Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 28:04Dayna Roselli: So it's very easy to get to.
- 28:05Dayna Roselli: Um, so it, yeah.
- 28:07Dayna Roselli: So the M, it's probably worth the trip.
- 28:09Dayna Roselli: That sounds like a lot of fun.
- 28:10Dayna Roselli: Something that you went to recently as well at the opening was at over at Crystals, and then we're talking about the shops at Crystals.
- 28:19Dayna Roselli: We told you in the past about the immersive Van Gogh experience over there, and now for the holidays, they have kind of changed it up and they're doing an immersive nutcracker, and you went over and said it's super cute.
- 28:32Sean McAllister: It really is.
- 28:33Sean McAllister: I mean, the nutcracker is kind of a classic part of the holiday season to begin with.
- 28:38Sean McAllister: So just those visuals and the music, it's just like you need to have some portion of that at some point in the holiday season, and this is the way to get it.
- 28:49Sean McAllister: Uh, I think it's a 20-minute uh show.
- 28:53Sean McAllister: Uh-huh.
- 28:53Sean McAllister: And you can, once you buy a ticket, you can stay for as many shows as you want, but it does put you into the middle of the nutcracker uh story.
- 29:03Sean McAllister: It plays out on the walls and the floors around you.
- 29:09Sean McAllister: Um, they have these lighting effects where there's uh snowflakes and presents kind of uh projected onto the floor, and the kids were loving that.
- 29:18Sean McAllister: They were kind of walking around and hopping on the presents, kind of chasing them around a little bit.
- 29:24Sean McAllister: Um but the actual production was really neat.
- 29:28Sean McAllister: It was a a combination of uh live action people kind of combined with a CGI world, and sometime the people would turn into CGI characters, and then they go back to being real people, and it kind of goes along with the whole fantasy of the nutcracker story anyway.
- 29:49Sean McAllister: Okay, you know, it's like once once little Clara gets her nutcracker, she goes into this fantasy land and it really does transport you there.
- 29:59Sean McAllister: I highly recommend Immersive Nutcracker.
- 30:02Dayna Roselli: And you said there were a lot of photo ops around too, right?
- 30:04Dayna Roselli: If you want to go do your like Christmas photo or something.
- 30:06Sean McAllister: So if you want to go, or if you haven't taken a Christmas photo yet, this is a great place to go.
- 30:11Sean McAllister: There is one scene that kind of makes it look like you're in a snow globe that's placed out in a wintery forest, and then another scene with next to the fireplace with a nice lit uh Christmas tree and a nice velvet red chair next to it with a big nutcracker.
- 30:30Sean McAllister: So there's a few options there if you need to still get some holiday photos to send out.
- 30:35Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 30:35Dayna Roselli: Okay, so that's over at the shops at Crystals.
- 30:38Dayna Roselli: And just a quick shout-out to the real nutcracker.
- 30:40Dayna Roselli: Uh, Nevada Ballet actually just sent us a little something today.
- 30:42Dayna Roselli: Just a reminder that if you want to go see the nutcracker, the actual show, Nevada Ballet always puts on a great show year after year.
- 30:53Dayna Roselli: And I'm pretty sure it's back at the Smith Center this year.
- 30:55Dayna Roselli: I was trying to find the release and I can't seem to find it, but I'm I'm like 99% sure.
- 31:00Dayna Roselli: If not, I'll come back and fix this.
- 31:02Sean McAllister: Yep, it's at the Smith Center from uh Friday, December 9th through Christmas Eve, the 24th.
- 31:09Dayna Roselli: Okay, perfect.
- 31:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they put on a great show over there.
- 31:12Dayna Roselli: They do it year after year.
- 31:13Dayna Roselli: You and I hosted the one year they couldn't do it in person during 2020.
- 31:17Dayna Roselli: Remember?
- 31:17Dayna Roselli: We hosted that show over at the Cactus Garden and talked all about the history of the Nevada Ballet and the Nutcracker, and they put so much effort into the costumes, the dance, everything.
- 31:28Dayna Roselli: So go check that out.
- 31:30Dayna Roselli: Something else that's happening uh year after year and is happening again this year is the very Terry Christmas as well.
- 31:36Dayna Roselli: Terry Vader, very long time headliner here in Las Vegas, used to be over at the Mirage, is now performing at New York, New York.
- 31:45Dayna Roselli: Oh gosh, we were chatting recently and he said 15 years he's been here in Vegas.
- 31:50Sean McAllister: So Wow, has it been that long?
- 31:52Dayna Roselli: That long.
- 31:52Dayna Roselli: And he was was he the first America's Got Talent winner?
- 31:55Dayna Roselli: Uh I think he was.
- 31:57Sean McAllister: Well, he's the uh I don't know if he's the first winner, but he's definitely the first one to get a residency show in Vegas.
- 32:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's for sure.
- 32:06Dayna Roselli: I remember being at that opening, and we were chatting about that.
- 32:09Dayna Roselli: I sometimes fill in on the morning blend on uh ABC here, and Terry came on with Bing Crosby, one of his puppets, and uh we did a little interview about Very Terry Christmas, and that's just like a different version of his show.
- 32:22Dayna Roselli: He makes uh his show just very Christmassy during the holidays, and that actually just started on Friday.
- 32:30Dayna Roselli: So you can now go over to New York, New York and see a very tarry Christmas.
- 32:34Dayna Roselli: The puppets uh sing Christmas songs, there's fun duets.
- 32:38Dayna Roselli: He's got, as I said, his Bing Crosby comes out for the for the holiday.
- 32:42Dayna Roselli: Uh Terry sings.
- 32:44Dayna Roselli: It'll put you in the Christmas spirit if you want to check that out uh over at New York, New York.
- 32:50Sean McAllister: Something kind of dirty.
- 32:51Sean McAllister: What'd I say?
- 32:51Sean McAllister: His Bing Crosby comes out for the holiday.
- 32:56Sean McAllister: His Bing Crosby puppet.
- 32:58unknown: His Bing Crosby puppet.
- 33:00Sean McAllister: By the way, uh Terry Fader won season two of America's Got Talent.
- 33:04Dayna Roselli: Oh, season two.
- 33:05Dayna Roselli: Who won season one?
- 33:06Dayna Roselli: Now I need to know.
- 33:07Sean McAllister: Uh Bianca, what is her name?
- 33:09Sean McAllister: Bianca Ryan.
- 33:11Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 33:11Dayna Roselli: What did she do?
- 33:12Sean McAllister: She was just 11 years old when she became the first ever winner of America's Got Talent.
- 33:18Sean McAllister: Um she looks like a singer.
- 33:21Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 33:21Dayna Roselli: She's older now because so many years have gone by, right?
- 33:24Sean McAllister: Oh god, yeah.
- 33:25Dayna Roselli: I wonder we need to look her up and see what she's doing.
- 33:27Sean McAllister: Full-on adult.
- 33:28Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 33:28Sean McAllister: Yeah, she's a singer.
- 33:29Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 33:30Dayna Roselli: Well, Terry was the second.
- 33:32Dayna Roselli: Good to know.
- 33:32Dayna Roselli: See, we always look up little factoids that come up during the podcast.
- 33:36Dayna Roselli: Because we don't like to do a lot of editing.
- 33:38Dayna Roselli: We just like to go with the flow.
- 33:39Dayna Roselli: Very Terry Christmas over at New York, New York.
- 33:43Dayna Roselli: Um go enjoy it.
- 33:44Dayna Roselli: It's it's a good one.
- 33:45Dayna Roselli: Hey, should we do some tips?
- 33:52Sean McAllister: All right, our first tip um is at an attraction that we've talked about here on Vegas Revealed before.
- 33:59Sean McAllister: It's called Fly Over Las Vegas.
- 34:02Sean McAllister: It's over in the showcase mall, uh, directly across the street from Park MGM.
- 34:08Sean McAllister: Um, and they have now three different experiences to choose from when you go to Fly Over.
- 34:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they have Wonders of the American West, which is great.
- 34:21Dayna Roselli: We've seen that.
- 34:22Dayna Roselli: The legendary Iceland, which is also fabulous.
- 34:25Dayna Roselli: Uh, something we haven't seen yet, but I'm hearing great things, is Windborne Call of the Canadian Rockies.
- 34:31Dayna Roselli: So you take flight over 18 remote and unreachable areas in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, and apparently it's absolutely beautiful.
- 34:41Dayna Roselli: Uh Sean and I have talked about it before, and but if you don't know and you didn't listen, it's basically you get on and this actual you sit in rows and it actually moves.
- 34:51Dayna Roselli: So it's like you're surrounded by this screen.
- 34:54Dayna Roselli: The pictures that you're seeing are actual real pictures and in video, and you're kind of flying above it all, and then you go down and up and squeeze through little corners that you normally couldn't get through.
- 35:06Dayna Roselli: Um, and you can also sometimes catch a smell of something.
- 35:10Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 35:10Dayna Roselli: Um, like there are the lavender fields and things like that.
- 35:14Sean McAllister: Orange and even the sea mist you can smell.
- 35:17Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 35:17Dayna Roselli: And I think in the West, we could even smell the gunpowder smoke, right?
- 35:20Dayna Roselli: When they were doing like, yeah.
- 35:22Dayna Roselli: So and so, and then you also feel there's a little mist that might come toward your face, or you'll feel a little wind.
- 35:27Dayna Roselli: So it's a great experience.
- 35:28Dayna Roselli: It's a great ride and really fun for adults or the fam, the whole family, the kids.
- 35:34Dayna Roselli: They do have a bar inside.
- 35:36Dayna Roselli: But why we're talking about it as a tip today is that they're doing a 40% off ticket prices special for Black Friday.
- 35:45Dayna Roselli: That's great.
- 35:46Dayna Roselli: And I know Black Friday just passed, but this special lasts all week to December 5th.
- 35:52Dayna Roselli: Okay, so this goes Monday, November 21st is when it started all the way through December 5th.
- 35:58Dayna Roselli: 40% off ticket prices.
- 36:00Dayna Roselli: So that's a steal.
- 36:02Dayna Roselli: And it's flyoverlasvegas.com.
- 36:06Dayna Roselli: And here's what you need this code, promo code fly black friday.
- 36:12Dayna Roselli: So they have it in all capitals.
- 36:13Dayna Roselli: Don't know if it needs to be capitals, but it's fly black friday, and you put that in at checkout, and you're gonna get 40% off tickets.
- 36:23Dayna Roselli: So I think that's that's a steal.
- 36:25Sean McAllister: And that's all together.
- 36:26Sean McAllister: No spaces in there.
- 36:27Sean McAllister: No, no spaces.
- 36:28Sean McAllister: Fly Black Friday altogether.
- 36:30Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 36:31Dayna Roselli: Um, and something else we wanted to mention is and we've talked about this before amongst ourselves, is the gift shop there is really good for Las Vegas merchandise.
- 36:38Sean McAllister: They have some they have some Las Vegas, I don't know, merchandise.
- 36:45Sean McAllister: Merchandise.
- 36:45Sean McAllister: Uh, coffee cups, t-shirts, yeah, whatever that I have not seen anywhere else.
- 36:50Sean McAllister: No.
- 36:50Sean McAllister: And it's really cute.
- 36:52Dayna Roselli: It it's like something about the the I guess the logos and the graphics on some of the t-shirts and the different items that they have there that are very modern and really cool looking.
- 37:01Dayna Roselli: It's something you'd really want to wear, you know?
